Alastor x reader with Morningstar reader? Where Alastor is their lover (hates the term boyfriend) only in private and literally no one knows but husk.
It was rather difficult keeping your relationship with the hotelier a secret.
But Alastor insisted.
He didn’t want everyone in your business,’private affairs should stay before the two invloved’ is what he had told you.
So you respected your lover’s wishes.
It had been a rather busy week at the hotel. Your sister had burned your brain for new ideas to incorporate into the bonding exercises.
You plopped at the bar, tapping the wood for Husk to make you a drink.
You smiled in appreciation when he gave you a double shot, happily throwing it back with a sigh.
You wouldnt see Alastor til later on as he was busy with some business.
”Never thought Ill see you so worn for wear princess” the cat mused as you gave him puppy eyes for another shot.
You sighed “I’m exhausted. Charlie has all these ideas and she’s got me all frazzled. I-I just want a break and some time to just think”
He hummed as he cleaned your empty glass
”Then just tell ‘er. Charlie has enough support that you can have some time to yourself. I think the both of you deserve some alone time.”
You groaned. Husker was the only person who knew you and Alastor were a couple.
I mean when you catch a Princess of Hell making out with the Radio Demon what else could they be?
You mulled it over, it had been awhile since you and Alastor had some real alone time. The two of you had been working around the clock to help Charlie maintain the hotel.
And you really missed the red demon.
”I don’t know Husk” you fiddled with your hands
”He’s got so much on his plate and I don’t want to be a burden” you pouted.
Husk let out a low chuckle “Trust me Princess. He needs it as much as you do, Hell probably even more. He’s been more aggravating than usual”
You smiled at the cat. Maybe Husk was right.
Just as you went to say something, buzzing static reached your ears.
You smiled when you saw Alastor, happy to see him after a long week.
Alastor made his way to you and sighed in relief once he wrapped his arms around you.
You pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, cupping it as you made him look at you “You look tired”
The red demon hummed “Nothing I can’t handle my dear I assure you”
Husk sucked his teeth, mumbling under his breath “yeah right”
Alastor threw him a glare that made you giggle.
You straightened his bow tie “Husk said you’ve been out of sorts and suggested we take a well deserve break. How bout we tell Charlie were gonna go recruiting for a few days? I think a little trip is needed” You scratched his undercut, making him melt.
”How can I say no to spending time with you darlin” he smiled, whisking you away to go find Charlie and put on a show.
Maybe you’ll keep your secret just a little while longer….

The Rockstar and Me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
requested: would it be okay, if I requested a rockstar!jace x reader? were theve been best friends since childhood and the reader has a crush on jace. jace is a really popular upcoming rockstar and is super busy. he dosnt see reader the same way (just as there bestfriend) and kind neglects the reader bc he's really busy. so one night the reader has enough and they decide they need to take a break from there friendship, so they don't talk for a while. and then jace kinda realises he missed up and took the readers love for granted. In this time he he realizes he like her too.
w.c: 1.6k
c.w: just some minor angst and some fluff :3, not proofread

You are going to scream.
Not of horror and certainly not of pleasure but you were just so annoyed.
Your roommate would not stop playing their fucking songs, most people would call you crazy but you swear you were about to look for a new apartment and put in big red letters, DO NOT REPLY IF YOU LIKE THE WEST DRAGONS. You have nothing against their music but it all just leads back to him.
Childhood best friend and crush turned ex-best friend rockstar Jacaerys Velaryon. He was your best friend for so long and you had liked him, a part of you still does. A part of you still misses him but you did what you had to do.
You could not just sit around and let him ignore you like that, time and time again he would blow you off to the point you grew sick of it and blocked his number and never looked back. You didn’t just ghost him. instead opting to send him a long messages about how you needed space and he was no longer the guy you knew anymore and told him you were gonna reach out anymore.
That was three months ago and your sure he hasn’t even fucking read it let alone try to reply to it. Three months since your life flipped upside down, moving to a new place, still in the same city but further away from him, new job and some new friends, it was odd at first and still is, being away from him but you won’t just let yourself be walked all over like that.
You had planned to stay in tonight like you normally would but your roommate had other plans, standing in the middle of the room bickering with you while you try to block out the sound of their music in the background.
“I don’t wanna go out sab.” “Come on live a little, come out to the bar with me.” “Maybe another night.” “Nope you are coming tonight. right now. get dressed.”
With that she sprints out of the room and you groan knowing she won’t take no for an answer and get up to get ready. Its just one night out, it won’t be so bad, plus it a good excuse so you don't have to hear his music anymore.
Yet when you walk into the bar its packed with people lining up in front of the stage, you turn to sab and tilt your head. “What is going on?”
She looks at you with a big grin on her face, “I didn’t tell you, oh my god the west dragons are performing here in a few.” Your stomach drops.
No you had to leave, maybe you could fake an illness? No she would catch on and force you to stay. You could make yourself throw up? that would cause too much of a scene. You were definitely going to be sick when you see the lights dim and they walk up on the stage.
He’s the drummer he should not even see you right? you’ll just sit at the bar and count down the seconds until the show is over and you can book it out of the room. Aegon greets the crowd as the groups lead singer and your stomach continues to churn. You met him a handful of times and he was always nice to you, he had a nice voice you could agree but you felt so sick anytime you heard their songs.
The show went on without a hitch and you wish the ringing in your ears would get louder so you wouldnt have to hear it. You find yourself reminiscing about your time with jace with every song that plays. You miss him. Much more than you’d like to admit.
You dont allow your eyes to drift behind aegon, yet you hear him, the sound of the drums, it haunts you, sometimes you can see his hands peak out, when aegon moves you can see his dark curls but never look too close to see his face.
They are taking a mini break with aegon entertaining the crowd, the show is almost over, you could not wait to go take a shower and try to act like this night never happened. Aegons eyes drift around the crowd while he’s talking and they land on you, you watch as his eyes widen and he stumbles over his speech for a moment as he turns back for a second to look at jace.
That was not good. Not good at all. “What was that? do you think he thinks your cute?” “definitely not.” Your words come out more strained than you would like and she looks at you confused, “Is something wrong?”
You open and close your mouth unable to know what to say. Your chest feels like its closing in on its self as she grabs your shoulders worriedly. “I need some air.” You quickly stand and rush out of the bar, sab quickly following after you. The two of you don’t notice the pairs of eyes that trail after you.
You lean against the wall on the outside and try to catch your breath. You did not think this would affect you so much, maybe because your whole life has been around him that now it just feels odd that he’s not around. This whole thing reminded you too much of going to his gigs and him coming up to you after the show to ask you what you thought.
“Who cares if i liked it jace? the people loved it.” “I care, you matter more to me than them.”
“Okay what the hell was that?” You run your hands along your face and stare at sab as she looks at your worried. “Its nothing.”
“oh fuck off its not nothing, nobody just runs out the room looking like they just saw their ex boyfriend over nothing.” She gasps at her own words and covers her mouth, “Oh my god wait did you actually date aegon? fuck if i knew i wouldnt have brought you here im sorry-” “I didn’t date ageon sab and i didnt date any of them.” “Then what happened?”
The two of you freeze as someone clears their throat and sab gasps as she turns around. “Im sorry to interrupt but, do you mind if we talk?” Jace. He was staring right at you. Sab looks between the two of you and gives you a look that says she wants to hear all about this before she runs off.
You stand in silence,, not wanting to be the first to speak. He puts his hands in his pockets and kicks on of the rocks on the ground. “How,,, um how are you?” “Im good.” He nods and continues to simply look anywhere but your face. “Thats good thats good um..” Its awkward. So awkward. It was never this way before but you guess thats just what time apart does to people. And you hate it.
“How are you?” He looks up at you shocked before he stumbles over his words, clearly very nervous. “Im good, im good, um, no no im not good actually. I miss you, so much.” Your breath hitches as you watch him continue to speak, “I regret how i treated you, so much. Im so sorry i miss you more than anything please, i just want us to be friends again, ill do anything to make it up to you.”
You don’t know what to say what to do. This is what you’ve been dreaming of for so long but your heart aches at the thought of returning to being just friends.
“I can’t be friends with you jace.” He stumbles back as if you had shoved him and he looks around attempting to compose himself. You swear you can see tears glazing in his eyes, “I um,” His voice cracks as he speaks and he coughs into his arm, “I understand yes of course, im sorry for bother-”
“I cant be friends with you jace because i cant bare being just friends. All ive ever wanted for so long was to be more with you, and if i go back to being just friends ill spend the rest of my life miserable because ill just be dreaming to be more with you.”
You do not even know when you had begun crying but you feel the tears begin to run down your face as you close your eyes and tilt your head down towards the ground. You feel his hands grip your face and pull you up to look at him, seeing his own tears running down his face.
“Im sorry, im so sorry. I love you. Im sorry it took me so long to realize this and that i had to be apart from you to know but ive realized i need you, i love you so much youre my best friend, the only person i need, i love you.”
You shake your head in disbelief, “You dont mean it.” “I do i do mean it, i love you so much.”
He presses his forehead against yours and you sob harder. “I love you jace.”
“I love you so much, i will work everyday to earn your forgiveness to even be worthy or your love.”
He shakily presses his lips against yours in a peck and you two smile at one another.
“No more ignoring me?”
“Never, never again.”

I wish you'd write a fic where reader is xadens younger sister and dating Garrick. But they date in secret (obviously xaden wouldnt be super thrilled at first when finding out) for like 2 years or so before they leave to go to Basgiath . Maybe when reader goes to cross the parapet Xaden notices garricks extra instruction. Maybe a slight brush on the back of the end before stepping on. And then Garrick and reader are caught by xaden and then his mad at first but relaxes off after watching Garrick protect her through out the year
When?
Xaden felt like an idiot. One big absolute idiot. He couldn’t believe that he was able to lead the rebellion but was quite literally fooled by the people closest to him. How did he miss the signs? Why didn’t his consciousness wave red flags back and forth. And he didn’t even figure it out on his own. No, no, fucking Imogen spelled it out for him.
“What are you smiling about all day?”, he had asked her as they counted up the weapons. Getting ready to distribute them overnight. Imogen shook her head as her smirk deepened, “Just Garrick”, she breathed. Xaden frowned, “Why are you smiling over Garrick? You don’t smile over a man”. Imogen rolled her eyes, “it has nothing to do with me, you idiot”, she snorted.
“Out with it, I don’t have time to play”, Xaden grumbled. Imogen placed down the dagger in her hands before looking up at her friend. “Didn’t you notice that he’s been different?”, she questioned. “Is he sick?”, Xaden smacked a question of his right back at her. “You are unbelievable”, she shook her head, “Do you seriously don’t see it?” Xaden blinked a couple of times. Nothing seemed off about his oldest friend. He was fine. Better than ever actually. “Xaden, Garrick looks at your sister as if she hung the moon up in the sky”, Imogen muttered, “He greeted me with a smile today”, her hands met Xaden’s shoulders as she shook him slowly, “A smile. S. M. I. L. E. Do you understand? That man hasn’t smiled ever since I met him”. But Xaden’s mind had clung to the first part of her words. Garrick liked his sister. No, this had to be a joke. Just Imogen didn’t look as if she was joking.
Ever since had made it his task to keep an eye out. Following you both. Sorting out through memories of you both. You had barely crossed the parapet six months ago. And yes Garrick had pulled you from the line when you came up. “Show me your shoes”, he had ordered, bending down to check them himself. Xaden hadn’t thought anything of it then. Had simply muttered, “Fuck you, I got her the shoes myself”, but he was so frightened to lose you that day that nothing else counted. Not the way Garrick had gripped the side of your face right before you stepped on. Not even the fact that Garrick had broken the board the names were scribbled on. Or how they had embraced each other when you were safely on the other side.
“Stop piling food on my plate”, you chuckled lightly, as Garrick spooned more veggie bake from his owl plate onto yours. “You need to eat more”, he stated, “You did well in training today”. Your eyes sparkled as you looked up at him. “You probably just went easy on me”, you shrugged. “I never go easy on anyone, love”, he reached out, brushing strands of your hair behind your ear, “Especially not when I want to impress you”. You hit his chest lightly, as your cheeks went pink, “You’re such a flirt”, “Only for you baby, only for you”, he traced the corner of your lips before picking up a for once again.
Xaden brooded in the knowledge of seeing it with his own two eyes. And then it’s as if someone had ripped the blindfold from his eyes. It was everywhere. Xaden saw it everywhere and it was so obvious. Garrick who was always first to leave the meeting now stood there, waiting for everyone to leave. Every time he walked past the girls he always made sure to brush his fingers along your back. Find contact with you no matter what. In a sea of cadets, his eyes were always on you.
“When?”, Xaden asked, yanking the back of Garrick’s shirt as the male left one of the meeting halls. Garrick didn’t miss a beat at batting his long-time friend’s hands off him, “Shit man you nearly got me”. But Xaden only puffed his chest more, “When?”, he repeated. Garrick frowned because Xaden was tiptoeing on the edge and he never lost his cool. A fear ran down his spine. What if something happened? What if you got hurt? Taken?
“What the fuck is going on?”, Garrick barely managed to grunt as Xaden’s left fists collided with his jaw. “Answer the fucking question goddamn”, he growled, clearly getting more and more frustrated. Garrick shoved him back slightly, “What in burning dragon shit has gotten into you?”.
A bitter laugh slipped past his friend’s lips, “I should be asking you that”, Xaden’s eyes were burning with anger, “you’re the one screwing my sister behind my back”, his voice raised ever so slightly. Garrick’s face blanched for a heartbeat before a wave of frustration ripped within him as well, “Don’t you dare put it like that”, he pointed a warning finger at Xaden who leaped forward, “You didn’t deny it, shitface”.
He wasn’t so sure if he wanted to punch or choke his long-time friend until a voice split the growing. “Stop this right now”, you called out, reaching to move for them but Garrick moved his free hand up, “Step aside Yn”. Yet another huff echoed, “Don’t tell her what to do”, Xaden bit back and it’s as if something shifted in Garrick, “I will because you are insane and I ain’t taking chances with you”, there was that primal almost frustrations in him. One that Xaden recognized because he too got overtaken by it when anyone got involved with Violet.
Yet still, Xaden pushed through, making sure to back Garrick against the wall, “I will make sure you die a painful…”, “Don’t you finish that Riorson”, you hissed from behind him, as you pulled at your brother’s upper arm. “You are grounded”, Xaden yanked his arm out of your grip, turning his frustration back on you.
“Listen to yourself, you sound like a child”, you said through gritted teeth. “Why was I not informed about this”, Xaden pointed between you and Garrick, before shaking his head, “This can’t be happening”. Garrick let out a low chuckle, “It has been for the past year and then some”, “Garrick”, you huffed pinching the bridge of your nose as he shrugged.
“She’s my sister! My”, Xaden shouted right at his friend's face, “And my girlfriend get in the line of being important to her”, Garrick said with a smirk. “I will choke you in your sleep”, Xaden leaned to tower over Garrick but he didn’t miss the beat doing just the same, “You can try”.
“Boys, please”, your voice was barely a whisper now, you could hear the sadness in it. Garrick’s head wiped in your direction instantly, “Don’t you dare get upset over this”, he hated it. Hated the sight of you sad. Of you upset. He could handle anything just not your tears. “Stop telling her what to do”, Xaden howled but this time Garrick was the one to shove him back before pointing a warning finger at him, “Riorson you are starting to get on my nerves”.
“Shut it, both of you”, you hissed, pushing your way between them and putting them at arm's length. “Garrick, I love you but please just stay quiet for a moment”, you glanced at your boyfriend, silently pleading with him, before your eyes turned to your brother.
“I’m sorry i should have told you”, you muttered. “Fuck yeah you should have”, he huffed. “But we had so little time. You both could have died, I could have died. We took a gamble just in case we survived and here we are”, you intertwined your fingers with Garrick’s and he instantly brought your joined hands up to his lips. Xaden inhaled sharply. “I’ve been really happy, Xaden”, you muttered quietly as your eyes glassed over with tears. Xaden reached out, pulling you closer to him, glaring at Garrick over your shoulder as he kissed the side of your head with a low whisper, “I know”.
You pulled back, hopeful eyes looking right into his soul. His little sister. The other half of his world. He only pushed through for you and Violet. A frown deepened between his brows before he managed to pull somewhat of a smile for you, kissing your forehead. “I will serve you your ass on the mats tomorrow”, Xaden shot a tight look Garrick’s way. He wasn’t ready to have a proper conversation with him yet. He will. He will put him from hell of his own. Just not now. “I’m looking forward to it”, Garrick nodded in agreement. Xaden turned to walk away before stopping. “A single hair breaks on her head and I am scattering you in ribbons”, he threatened, turning back to hold a warning stare with him. Garrick simply pulled you closer to his chest, wrapping his arms around you, “Believe me”, he breathed out, glancing down at you for a moment, “If a hair breaks I will go willingly”. And that was enough for Xaden. Because even if he was angry he knew that Garrick would fight till his last breath to make sure that you were okay and for that alone, he couldn’t bring himself to hate him.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ RORONOA ZORO AS A FATHER…
zoro would be one those fathers that most people assume would be terrible, but unsurprisingly, he’s very good with kids, as told canonically.
he’ll only have one daughter. he can’t handle anymore brats.
when your daughter was born, he’d bought up possibly naming her after his late childhood best friend. you knew how much she meant to him, so it was no problem making sure your daughter carried on her name, and hopefully her future dream. roronoa kuina.
lots of people assume zoro’s a strict dad, but most days, he’s pretty chilled back.
he came off as not having any interest in learning how to do kuina’s type 3-4 hair, but when you secretly caught him watching a youtube video as he practiced on one of your wig mannequins you knew he wanted to learn from the start
when kuina’s a toddler, you teach him how to do simple styles on her hair. to detangle from the bottom, always make sure her hair was moisturized, and just learn the small things about her. like how she was tenderheaded—something she inevitably inherited from you.
he’ll take her to get braids from the african aunties whenever you’re busy or stuck at work. kuina, already knowing the routine would sit on the chair and zoro’s big body would be squeezed between two parents talking on the phone for nearly nine hours straight, occasionally heading out to grab some food for himself and kuina. the things he would do for that girl.
kuina would be in the big chair swinging her little feet as she watched youtube video’s on her daddy’s phone. she’d always smile at the fact that you were his lock screen and she was his home screen—a picture of him coddling with her to sleep when she was just a baby. lord knows how much them two love they sleep!
he’d be so overprotective, he would teach kuina her parents’ full name, address, emergency phone numbers, and everything in between by the time she’s 6. no stranger would ever had a chance to mess with the daughter of roronoa zoro.
despite his off putting (and quite rude) personality, he’d be the best one to give advice. only to you and his little kuina though. most wouldnt even consider it advice, but baby kuina always loved it when her daddy told her what he thinks she should do in a troubling situation.
“papa what do you think i should do?” the little girl frowns. “i really think i hurt the girl’s feelings. but i didn’t mean to!”
zoro pops his one good eye open from its closed resting position as he sat on the couch with his arms folded. “are you sorry?”
kuina gives him solemn eyes and nods her head. “really sorry.”
with a quick whit, zoro answers straight, “apologize. don’t make the situation about you. she’s the one you hurt, make sure she realizes that you know that.”
kuina allows her father’s words to sink in her brain in order to fully process everything he’d said. when a bright idea comes to her head, she wraps her arms around her father and places a wet kiss on his cheek, yelling, “thank you papa!” before skipping off to make amends with her friend.
would sueprise teachers and parents when he shows up to some PTA’s alone. you were caught up at work, so zoro took up parental volunteering opportunities on his own. of course, he only did these things for you and kuina, so he didn’t care that the single parents were eye goggling him with lust. not when kuina bragged to all her friends about how cool her dad was.
zoro tries to create an emotion-based home. he doesn’t want kuina growing up in a cold home like you and him did, so he always made it his best to publicly express his emotions or whatever he was feeling at home. he made sure kuina saw him love on you in order to see and know that her parents always loved each other—not just for show—and made sure that she knew it was okay to express her own emotions because she was a lot like him, more than he’d have liked.
when he catches kuina stiffile in her cry about him having to miss a chunk of her school play due to a very heinous and reaosnable excuse (traffic was a bitch), he pulls her off to the side and allows her space to express how she feels.
“you can cry. it’s okay to cry, marimo.” zoro kneels down to kuina’s height as she hangs her head low, too embarrassed to look up and reveal her tears. the one bond they had, was him calling her marimo because if you looked at the both of them—they were damn near identical twins. you were convinced your genes didn’t even fucking try to make it to the egg on time. only he could call her that though. that was their thing.
zoro gives her a genuine apology. he hated seeing his pretty princess cry, but he knew she had to do it. “i’m sorry. i got here as quick as i could, hm? i’d never miss anything about you on purpose.”
at the sound of her father’s soft voice, kuina looks up and wipes away some of her tears. “you promise papa?” her voice is sultry as you wipe at your back, heart warming at the beautiful wholesome interaction between the two.
behind zoro’s back were a mini bouquet of flowers and candy. “course i do kid. c’mere, i’m gonna make it up to you.”
lord knows zoro wasn’t the best father. he didn’t even think he was a good father—this was all new to him. but sometimes, he’d liked to believe that what he was doing in the present was enough to give kuina the future he never got to have.

so like readers parents invite aventurine over cuz they wanna meet him. aventurine gets nervous (who wouldnt) and reader tells him itll be fine. but readers parents dont like him when they meet him for the first time bc hes part of the ipc (no one really likes the ipc im pretty sure). eventually he grows on them bc hes nice and treats reader well. once they learn his trauma and backstory they're joking about adopting him cuz theyve always wanted a son :3 but it doesnt really matter cuz aventurine is gonna marry reader anyway so theyll get the son they always wanted >v<

Meeting the Parents!
Summary: Aventurine nervously meets your parents, who initially judge him due to his connection with the IPC. Despite their doubts, his kindness and the revelation of his traumatic past win them over. By the end of the evening, your parents jokingly consider adopting him, unaware that Aventurine plans to marry you, making him family in more ways than one.

A/N: HEHEHE THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! 🤭💖 AND I LOVE YOUR REQUESTS!! <33
Tumblr media
Aventurine stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his collar for what felt like the hundredth time. He’d faced down intimidating boardrooms, handled high-stakes deals, and even wagered his career on sheer wit and nerve. But nothing could compare to the butterflies fluttering wildly in his stomach at the thought of meeting your parents.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked, his usually confident voice edged with uncertainty. His eyes found yours in the reflection, an unspoken plea lingering in them.
You took his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “They’re going to love you, Aven. Just be yourself, okay?”
His usual grin flickered on his face, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “Myself?” he echoed with a soft chuckle. “I hope they can handle that.” He took a deep breath and straightened his posture, donning his most dashing smile, a look that usually melted away doubts. “Alright, let’s do this.”
The smell of fresh-baked bread filled the air as you stepped into your parents' house, leading Aventurine by the hand. Your mother greeted you warmly, her gaze flicking to Aventurine with curiosity…and a touch of skepticism. Your father, meanwhile, offered a polite nod, but there was no missing the cautious look in his eyes as he took in the flamboyant attire, the card suit details, and the peacock feather earring glinting in the light.
“Mom, Dad,” you began, smiling encouragingly, “this is Aventurine.”
Aventurine extended his hand to your father. “A pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. [L/N].”
Your father shook his hand briefly before pulling back. “So, IPC, huh?” he remarked, eyebrows raised. “Not the most popular organization in these parts.”
Aventurine’s confident smile faltered just a bit. He shot a glance your way, as if to gauge if this was the normal reception. You gave him a supportive look, and he recovered, nodding smoothly. “Yes, sir. It does carry a reputation—but I’m not your typical IPC manager.” He laughed, but your parents' silence made the sound a bit strained.
Your mother gestured for everyone to sit, her eyes fixed on him as though assessing some hidden quality. “We know that our [Name] has always been a good judge of character,” she said delicately, “but IPC isn’t exactly known for…compassionate work. What drew you there?”
Aventurine paused, clearly grappling with how much to share. “It’s…complicated,” he said eventually. “But to be frank, I didn’t have much choice. When life’s odds are stacked against you, sometimes you have to play the hand you’re dealt.”
That seemed to strike a chord with them, though they exchanged skeptical glances. Noticing the tension, you gently rested your hand on his, giving him a nod to continue. He met your gaze, and something in your eyes—trust, reassurance—seemed to ease the tension in his shoulders.
Throughout dinner, Aventurine worked to prove himself. He shared stories from his travels and even cracked a few jokes, though his laughter was softer, more tentative than usual. And you noticed him sneaking a worried glance at you each time your father’s questions probed a little too close for comfort.
But slowly, as the evening unfolded, the initial frostiness began to thaw. Your father seemed to soften, maybe even appreciate Aventurine’s resilience and tenacity. And your mother, despite her initial concerns, seemed almost charmed by his good manners and his clear affection for you.
“So, Aventurine,” your mother began, refilling his glass of water, “tell us a bit more about your family.”
He froze, the smile slipping from his face for just a moment. You felt his hand clench slightly under the table, and instinctively, you rubbed his knuckles with your thumb.
“Actually,” he said quietly, looking at his drink, “I…don’t have family.” He gave a hollow laugh, shaking his head. “They’re gone. All of them, I suppose.”
Your parents’ expressions softened, and your mother reached out, resting her hand over his free one. “I’m sorry, dear,” she murmured, her eyes filling with a new warmth. “No one should have to go through that.”
Aventurine looked up, a surprised flicker crossing his face. “Thank you.”
By the time dessert arrived, the mood was lighter, laughter filling the room as your mother jokingly commented on how she always wanted another son. Aventurine flushed at the remark, glancing at you with a shy, boyish grin you rarely saw.
“Well, Mom,” you said, barely holding back your own grin, “it’s only a matter of time before he’s family anyway.” You shot a mischievous look at Aventurine, who raised an eyebrow, his signature confidence slowly returning.
“Oh?” your father asked, now leaning back with a playful smirk. “You plan on making things official?”
Aventurine chuckled, brushing a lock of hair behind his ear, a genuine, softened expression on his face. “Actually…yes, if your child will have me,” he said, his gaze warm as it found yours.
That night, as you walked back to your shared apartment, Aventurine’s hand wrapped securely around yours, he let out a long sigh, laughing softly. “They’re…amazing. I was so nervous. But they’re…your family, [Name]. And they really welcomed me, despite everything.”
You squeezed his hand, smiling up at him. “I told you they’d love you.”
He stopped, turning to face you fully, his eyes bright in the dim streetlight. “You were right. And…I want you to know, they’re my family now too. I’m going to protect you. Always.”
You leaned up, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips. “I know. And I’ll protect you, too.”
Together, you walked on, your steps in perfect harmony. Aventurine didn’t have to gamble anymore; he’d already won.

alright so in relation to the thing where art shows pats sister porn videos as like "inspiration" for things they're gonna do together, aka he's slowly corrupting her by normalizing these things for her. so i have 2 additional ideas for this, am gonna send them seperately and then you can just pick what you wanna do first, cuz the order is really not important.
so 1st idea: so maybe he gets really into the idea choking her, cuz we all know, well-established, that he loves to feel that power over her. and it starts as just like a way he wants to keep her in place, so he starts sending her like porn videos where its concluded, just like a lose hand around the girls throat. maybe its not even a real grip in the first ones, just a caress? just to get her into it, not that she wouldnt do anything he asks anyway. but slowly the videos gets rougher, maybe it leans slightly into breathplay too, akin to plugging her nose, but like still on the gentle side. but she likes it, not just seeing it, she likes when he does it. it feels good to have him grip her, feels good to get lightheaded, maybe she even gets off on him controlling whether she gets to breathe for not…. so he keeps doing it.
and one day he loses himself a bit, he had a bad day on the court, lost a game he should've won in his sleep, so he's pissed off. but he decides that the best way to get it out is to fuck her pussy, just really pounding her, bullying her little cervix. honestly it's a miracle if she can walk tomorrow. and as he's abusing her little cunt he has a firm hand around her throat, they've done this many times before.
but he's so lost in himself and getting his anger out he forgets to really focus on her and she ends up getting lightheaded from him squeezing too hard. but with his other hand over her mouth to cover moans she cant tell him to ease up. she ends up passing out (briefly), it's nothing serious shes fine really, but it freaks him out deeply and unlocks a more tender side to him and his true care for her. it really was never his intention to hurt her, its different from when he first slapped her, where he also felt awful, but could tell right away that she was okey and into it. this time she just kind of goes limp under him for a minute, and it scares the living shit out of him, because he cant communicate with her right away. he cant check that shes okey beyond check her pulse and breathing, but hes like crying and cradling her when she wakes up.
he has to spend the rest of the evening holding her tight to him and assuring her that he never meant to hurt her. it takes her ages to try to get him back into gently choking her, cuz she really did like it. but hes too scared hes going to hurt her again…
again not super slutty, but i just love love y'all!!!! i need them to be in looooooooove <3
-🐞
GODDDD my babies <3 I’ve abandoned them for too long <3
He knows you have a thing for his hands, it’s why he isn’t surprised you’re so willing when he starts sending you the choking videos. You’re always playing with his fingers absently, tangling his hand with yours, smiling all giddy and sweet when he wraps a hand around your thigh. You fucking love them— he sees you staring at them so much. So of course your eyes light up when he actually wraps his hand around your throat, just resting it there for the first few times, until you get impatient and put your hand on top of his, until you make him squeeze.
He should’ve known better than to try it after the match against Columbia, when he kept double faulting and missing returns that should’ve been easy. Every time he hit into the net it just made it worse and worse. He didn’t smash his racket, which was a miracle, because he wanted to. He wanted to squeeze the hilt in his palm and hit and hit until it shattered.
You were there, because of course you were— in Stanford tennis tee shirt so tight that it had to have been from the children’s section. With black eyeliner, you’d written a pretty A on your cheekbone for him. He’s snapping at you, rolling his eyes like every word you say is a huge inconvenience. You’re infuriating him by being so nice, by coddling him.
Sitting on his bed, legs crossed beneath you. “You played so well, Art, really. He was just a really good competitor, and now you know where you need to improve for next ti—“
“Can you just shut the fuck up?” He snaps, and you swallow hard, but nod.
He’s mad. Of course he’s mad, he lost. But you can help! You always know exactly what he needs. Slowly, you peel your shirt off, and he swears under his breath as your bare tits are revealed to him— the prettiest fucking sight in the world. And you don’t say anything as you strip, like you both already know where this is going to go. Just tug off your jean shorts and panties and lay back on his bed.
“You can take it out on me.”
And he does. You’re already wet, because you always get wet when he’s mean to you, but it’s not enough to make you comfortable without prep. You whine and dig your nails into his shoulders as he stuffs you full of his cock without bothering to get you ready for it. “Just fuckin’ take it—“ You pant and try to relax, to open yourself up for him as he fucks into your cunt.
You’re loud— you’re always so fucking loud— he just needs you to shut the fuck up for one goddamn second and let him cum. It hurts and you’re whimpering, babbling and squeezing him with your tight little pussy. With each moan and grunt that escapes him, you get fucking wetter, you get louder.
The second his hand wraps around your throat, your eyes roll back and the prettiest moan escapes your lips. He tightens his grip and your cunt squeezes him, sucks him in deeper.
“Jesus, you’re a fucking slut for it, huh? You want it harder?” You nod, eyes half-lidded and hazy. Your moans are choked and pathetic until he covers your mouth with a heavy hand over your mouth, muffling every whimper and gasp behind a thick palm.
He watches your lashes flutter with each rough thrust into your cunt. He should’ve known when your grip on his shoulders went lax, when your soft moans went quiet. He feels it when you lose consciousness, when your arms drop by your side and you go completely limp beneath him, eyes rolling back behind your lids, lips parted and unmoving.
He panics immediately, slapping your cheeks softly, trying to rouse you back into consciousness. “C’mon,” he says softly, popping your cheek. “Hey, wake up—“
You’re still breathing, he knows that, at least. And he has the decency to pull out while you’re passed out, not that he can stay hard when he’s so fucking scared that you’re going to hate him. You’re warm in his lap, and he feels your heart thrumming beneath his palm as he holds you. You look so peaceful, so soft and young. He knows then why Patrick never wanted this— he was always going to fucking hurt you eventually.
It takes barely over two minutes for you to wake up, but it feels like a fucking lifetime. Your brows furrow and you blink slowly, bleary. There’s a scratchiness in your voice that fucking kills him. “Mmm… sorry—“ you manage. “Didn’t mean to.”
It kills him. Really fucking kills him. “No it’s my fault, I was… that was fucking horrible.”
“No, Art, it’s fine. I told you to take it out on me.” You give a weak smile. “Did you cum, At least?”
Art knows he’s a bad person. He wishes he was better, that he didn’t corrupt you to this extent. He wants you to have a normal crush on a normal boy who wouldn’t dream of taking you to that point. He wants you to care about your own body more than you care about whether or not he got off. He hates the way you worship him as much as he can’t live without it.

Considering you’d found out you was pregnant three months into the pregnancy, the time flew quickly. Baby girl Evans was due 13th June, but decided she didn’t want to share a birthday with her daddy.
At 5:15am on Saturday 9th June, Penelope Evans decided to make an appearance. Unfortunately for you, this was the weekend that Chris made a short trip back to Boston to have some well-earned birthday celebrations with his family. You’d decided that for multiple reasons, including being close to your own family, that you wanted to spend the rest of your pregnancy in London so returning to your family home in Boston wasn’t an option.
Chris missed the entire birth of his second child, the event being unknown to him as his phone had died early on during his night out with old friends. Baby Penny was over twelve hours old when Chris finally received the news of his newborn child. A baby girl. News that brought the man to tears; he loved being a girl dad.
But that was just over a month ago, baby Penny was quickly approaching seven weeks old. And Chris had spent every waking moment with both his young daughters. Summer was rolling in and Olivia had just finished her last week at school in London. It was two weeks until you packed up and once again moved your little family of four back to the USA. You’d made an agreement with Chris that your London apartment wasn’t to be sold and would instead be used by your family on your regularly planned visits. This luckily meant for you that there wasn’t much packing that needed to be done, only the essentials you’d need when you returned to your family home. You’d forever be grateful that you didn’t need to pack up the whole apartment with two little ones in tow.
Penelope Evans was your perfect little secret for the first 5 weeks of her life, allowing yourself time to settle in being a parent of two. Being cooped up in your apartment from the day Penny was brought home from the hospital, both Chris and your parents taking it in turns to do the school run for Olivia. Of course, the rumour that Baby Evans was born spread when you weren’t spotted in public for weeks, but you were in your perfect newborn bubble. But you wanted to be present for Olivia’s last days in British school, so you made the effort to leave the house and walk the youngster to school every morning and watch her skip alongside her baby sister's buggy.
It was 9pm, the evenings being the main time you got some silence in the little London apartment. Chris was perched on your shared bed, scrolling through his phone and replying to emails. You were sat on the carpeted floor, one leg outstretched and gently rocking the moses basket with your foot while you packed some of your newborn's clothes into one of the few suitcases dotted around the room. Both your daughters fast asleep in their respective beds.
Your phone vibrated on the carpet next to you, ignoring it as you expected it to be Chris sending you something he’d seen on Instagram. You hummed quietly to yourself as you carefully folded clothes and placed them inside the case, your foot still gently rocking the moses basket. It wasn’t until your phone vibrated another two times that you curiously peeked down at the screen; your eyebrows furrowed as you noticed multiple Facebook messages from an old friend of yours that you’d not spoken to in years.
I’m so sorry but I thought you should see this. One of the messages read, follow by a Sent a Photo and a link. You tilted your head in curiosity as you opened the messages, the link and screenshotted news article headline referencing the birth of your child and Chris’s whereabouts at the time.
It wasn’t until you read further into the article that silence fell over the room, your humming coming to a sudden halt and your foot stopped pressing against the bassinet. Evans night out during birth of second child. Underneath the headline a picture of the alleged ‘Sarah’ from the previous cheating rumours that almost ruined your marriage a year ago. Chris had his arm wrapped around her shoulder as they sat in a booth in the corner of what seemed like a club, both leaning in closely and talking quietly amongst themselves.
Recent discoveries show that Evans’ second child, a baby girl, was born on Sunday 9th June in the early hours of the morning. During this time Evans’ was in Boston on a night out with friends celebrating his approaching birthday, understood to also be his child’s due date. Evans has two children with his British wife. Rumours spread last summer of acts of infidelity within the marriage, however this did not seem to break the couple as they reunited and introduced their second child.
Updates as they come. The article stated.
You were speechless at the article, unsure how to process it as you placed your phone back on the carpet and focused back onto packing the suitcase in front of you. Was that even Chris in the photo? It was slightly blurry, and of course the club was dark. But you could pick Chris out of a crowd in an instant, and that certainly looked like the woman from previous photos.
“You okay?” Chris questioned, peeking over his phone to look down at you.
“Mhm.” You mumbled in response, a sigh leaving your lips as you picked up one of your favourite newborn onesies. Penny had grown out of it at this point, but you wouldn’t dispose of it; the onesie was Penelope’s first outfit, her coming home outfit. The same onesie that Olivia wore home when she returned from hospital. The neutral onesie with little Winnie The Pooh drawings printed across it. It almost made you cry at the thought of the perfect little family you once had, and could have continued to have.
You closed your eyes and brought the onesie to your nose, taking a deep breath as you took in the scent of the laundry detergent you often used on your children's clothes, the milky honey scent filling your nostrils comforted you.
Your phone vibrated next to you again, you’d turned on notifications for updates to the article. You were unsure if you wanted to return to read the update, a knot formed in your stomach and you began to fill sick. You laid the onesie on your lap as you reached again for your phone, following your gut feeling and reopening the article.
UPDATE
Recent investigations show the woman believed to be Sarah Jenkins, a 35-year-old from Atlanta. This is the second time she has publicly been spotted with actor Chris Evans. Sarah, who is public on most social media accounts, has a one-year-old child with an unknown father. Sources believe that Evans could be the father of the child.
“Hey, what’s up?” Chris questioned, worry filling his face as he moved to sit next to you on the floor as he watched your face completely drain of all colour.
“I’m going to be sick.” You mumbled, quickly pushing yourself to your feet and away from Chris. You almost tripped over the suitcase and other items scattered across the floor as you made a beeline for the bathroom, dropping to your knees as you leaned over the porcelain toilet and threw up the contents of your stomach.
“Hey. It’s okay.” Chris followed you, kneeling down to hold your hair out your face and rub your back.
“Get away from me!” You almost shouted, tears beginning to fill your eyes as you withdraw from any contact from the man. “How could you?!” You cried.
“What?!” Chris questioned; his brows furrowed as he stared at you in shock.
Oh boy was he a good actor.
“Don’t you dare fucking lie to me again!” You bit back with gritted teeth. “How could you do that to me?! How could you do that to our poor innocent Olivia?!” The sadness fell over your eyes, the tears falling down your cheeks at the thought of your two precious girls who got hurt in the process. How as you going to explain this to them? How was you going to tell Olivia that her daddy was the reason the family fell apart?
“How could you?!” You repeated again, a sob getting caught in your throat. “How could you cheat?! How could you have a child with another woman and simply act like its nothing?!” A loud wail tumbled from your lips as you pulled yourself back to the toilet and vomited some more.
“I’m sorry.” Chris accepted defeat. That was all the conformation you needed. He should have known that after some time the news would come out.
“You’re sorry?!” You looked at him in complete shock, bringing the back of your hand up to wipe at your mouth. “You think that's going to take all this away?” You truly were stunned that he was acting like this wasn’t as large a crime as it was.
“His name is Theodore. Theo.” He mumbled, pushing himself to his feet as the tears started to fill in his eyes. The realisation was beginning to hit of what he’d done. How much he’d hurt his wife, and would shortly hurt his two precious daughters too. “I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.”
“You didn’t mean for this to happen?!” Your voice raised in complete disbelief at his words. “You didn’t mean to spend time with another woman? Didn’t mean to fall into bed with her? Didn’t mean to have a child with her? Didn’t mean to continue seeing her, even when the child wasn’t present. You lied to me! You lied and then played me into thinking everything was okay, we had another child!” You screamed, it was all beginning to boil over and push you to the edge.
Multiple instances flashed through your mind; like Christmas, Chris had no work on the lead up to Christmas, but yet he couldn’t be in London until the twenty third of December. He claimed he had commitments to his family. He missed the birth of your child for a night out on his birthday, yet the only photo you’ve seen from the night is the previously posted photo with ‘Sarah’. He missed out on time with yourself, and your growing family, major events like the birth of his second, well technically third, child. You weren’t as big a priority as it was made out to be.
A loud screaming cry came from your bedroom, your almost two-month-old child awakening due to the loud noises flowing through the apartment.
“Get out.” You bit through gritted teeth, pushing yourself to your feet as you prioritised getting to your small baby girl crying out in need. You cradled her in your arms, cuddling her close as you tried to compose yourself, holding the little baby so tight as you rocked her back and forth but her crying wouldn’t stop.
“Get away from me.” You almost growled at Chris as he approached you in the bedroom, your hold becoming more protective of your sweet innocent child.
“Please, let me explain.” Chris tried to speak over the sound of the screaming baby which you continued to rock.
“Explain what, Chris?!” You turned to look at him, tears streaming down your face which matched the face of the distraught newborn. “There is nothing to explain.” You were starting to get overwhelmed with the situation, the screaming of the baby, the cheating man stood in front of you trying to talk his way out of his sins.
“Mummy?” A little voice spoke from the door. “Daddy?” The small child stood at the door, her fists rubbing at her tired eyes and chubby cheeks. “Is Penny okay? Mummy, are you okay?” she questioned, unsure what all the noise was about. Her tired eyes adjusted as she looked between you and her father, the upset visible on both your faces as well as her newborn sister.
“Penny’s okay, princess.” Chris spoke up, turning to speak properly to his eldest daughter. He couldn’t comment on how you felt, and he didn’t want to lie to his daughter again. “Mummys got her. Let's get you back to bed.” He hummed, leading the little girl out of the room as he tried to compose himself. In that moment, you had to admit you was grateful for Chris stepping up for his eldest child.
A few moments passed until you heard Olivia’s bedroom door closing, you’d managed to compose yourself to a certain extent but also calm Penelope down enough that she’d fallen back to sleep and was once again nestled in her basket.
“I want you gone. You can collect your things during the week, my parents will be here to deal with it. You won’t see the girls. We’re not coming back to Boston.” You rambled out the words that you’d been planning in your head.
“Babe, please!” He tried to beg, stepping closer to where you were perched on the edge of the bed and looking down at the newborn in her basket.
“Don’t call me babe. You won’t see the girls until a plan has been made. You’ll leave tonight.” You sighed, defeated.
“My solicitor will be in contact to get the papers signed.”

Ofc love!!
A/n: Keep requesting fics and I hope you enjoy this one!!
Warnings: kidnapping, gaslighting, angst, toxicity, lmk if I missed one
Summary: you come to help your miles(1610) but Miles(42) has other plans for you because you look exactly like you from his dimension
Tumblr media
“Where- Where am I?” You questioned. Your leg had been chained up but you were laying… on a couch? The couch seemed to be enclosed in a glass box.
You were covered with a warm blanket and a glass of water sat in front of you. You looked up and saw your boyfriend in a much more uncomfortable setting. He was chained to a punching bag and he was knocked out cold
You try to get up but you were no match for the heavy chains, you managed to sit up however before you heard a familiar voice:
“You’re awake, Mami. ¿Estàs bien? Cómo te sientes?”
You groaned as a man stalked towards you in a prowler costume only it wasn’t a costume, it seemed like it was a suit, a well built suit at that.
“Who are you?” You asked cautiously
“I’m your boyfriend, hermosa” he said, the mask being removed from his face
“My boyfriend is chained to a bag” you said before realizing the sight in front of you
“Miles?” You questioned
“SÍ” he smirked
“But you’re over there” you said with big watery eyes
“You’re so cute, princesa. It’s a shame I can’t touch you” he said
“Why am I here? And why am I in a box?” You questioned with tears falling down your face at the circumstance.
“Sh- shhh it’s okay Mami. I’ll get you out of the box soon enough, once you accept you’re never leaving” he said
“What do you mean I’m never leaving?” You asked scared. You thought back to you not hugging your parents, friends, Miles or anyone of significance in your life before you were taken. The thought made you wanna sob your eyes out
“Did I ever tell you about my, y/n?” He asked, fondeling the box
“You didn’t tell me anything” you said
“Hm. You have the wit of my, Y/n. You look just like her, speak just like her and you smell just like her. She was taken from me, and I could’ve stopped it if I was there but I wasn’t and she got killed. Before she left though, she promised me that she would love me in every universe. And when I saw you come out of that portal, I knew my prayers were answered; I just have to get rid of your cabròn and we can be together” he said, his voice faltering at the mentions of your death
“You’re gonna kill my Miles?” You questioned
“I am your miles, Chiquita” he smirked
“No you’re not, you- you’re a monster. I don’t know her but I can assure you, she wouldn’t want this. She wouldn’t want you to do this.” You said
“You don’t know what she would’ve wanted. She wanted me to be happy, so that’s what I’m doing” he said, raising his voice
“I CAN PROMISE YOU SHE WOULDNT WANT YOU TO KIDNAP A VERSION OF HER THAT DOESNT LIKE YOU. I- I have a Miles and he loves me and I’m happy where I come from” you said, crying
“I knew you would take a minute to adjust to your new environment. I built You a bracelet that can keep you here and stop you from glitching. As for him, you don’t have to worry about him anymore, from now on, I take care of you now, mi vida” Miles spoke like it was nothing
“I hate you” you sobbed, your entire body shaking as you speak
“You’ll come around” he said, his face coming closer to the glass as he readied his gauntlet and walked towards your Miles.

Ooooh I got an avatar request ;]
The reader has been friends with the sully kids for a while now but hasn't seen them ever since they moved to the metkayina clan. After hearing that kiri had fallen unconscious, she begs norm and max to accompany them to the islands, because she's worried about her friend. It pretty much follows the same as in the movie, they arrive, do a check up, find nothing and then get kicked out by neytiri. Reader is just chilling outside since she isn't allowed really allowed to be in the same room as kiri, but doesn't want to leave until she knows her firend is awake and healthy. The adults are talking with Jake, she's alone and that's where aonung and his gang arrive. Drama ensues. The conflict can be about literally anything and can end however you want, but there needs to be scene where the reader leaves a strong impression.
Sorry if the req I a bit long and thx <3
Protective
PROTECTIVE NETEYAM X HUMAN READER
Tumblr media
When you had heard of kiri fainting underwater, it took you only a few seconds to grab your things and go beg norm to let you come with him. He was against it, of course, as he knew how the metkayinan people were with humans. But, you remained adamant, being that kiri was one of the best friends you'd ever had in your life, if she was hurt, you needed to be there. You wouldnt take no for an answer. Norm knew that.
so , you ended up sitting on a helicopter that was so old and beat up you thought it might fall out of the sky. Strapped down by a seatbelt, watching the waves pass by below. It made you nervous. The water, that is. Growing up in the forests with the sullys and norm, there was a lack of large bodies of water, the biggest was the falls under the hallelujah mountains, and even those were pretty little.
Also, on a more important note, you didn't know how to swim.
You don't know why, ever since you were little, water just freaked you out. Jake and neytiri saw that, and figured that you wouldn't need the skill of swimming, as you lived in the forest. Not out at sea. How ironic is that.
So, in your anxious state, you pulled at the wires of the mask, and tapped your nails at the metal of the chair. Staring down at how the waves washed over the ocean floor, unease slowly sunk into your mind, not only because kiri was sick, possibly dying, buut because you felt so out of your element. Norm noticed, but chose not to say anything, chalking it up to the fact that your best friend was in a coma.
When you landed, it only took a few moments to be surrounded with the natives, immediately lo-ak was on top of you in a bone crushing hug, you fell to the ground, and lo-ak proceeded to blow into your neck, tickling you like an older brother bullying his sister . Tuk then piled on top, then kiri, and then neteyam. THe metkayinas around stared at the odd display between human and na-vi. Strange. So strange.
But, a particular group of boys stood front and center, taking more notice than everybody else. They all snickered with eachother, staring at the alien freaks with an actual alien. They had all known of the sully families close association with humans, but bringing them here? And showing affection. Crazy.
“Lo-ak, tuk! Get off of her, now.” Neytiri hissed, pulling the four off of you, dropping them, and then giving you a small hug herself, her touch lingered for a little bit, but you chose not to say anything, neytiri was practically your mother. Hugging was A human tendency you liked, even though they very rarely did it.
Oh god how much you missed these people, you weren't allowed to come with them, mainly because it was dangerous for you to be far away from other humans, lest your mask break and you didnt have a backup, they didn’t want to risk it. But you still loved them so very much, and jumped at the chance to see them.
It didn't take very long for norm to be lead to where kiri was, and along with him, you. The sight of her alone brought so much happiness, you wanted to go up and tackle her, and scream to her about how much you missed her. To gossip about her brothers and others in this new place. THen you remembered she was unconscious, and that someone would probably pounce on you if you tried. A woman was huddled over her, crushing some form of healing herb.
You chose to stand by the doorway, making the active decision not to approach, you were one of the only people in human form here, also the only one without any medical experience, or anything that could help, other than that you were her friend. Norm sent a short glance your way, and then proceeded to approach kiri. You gathered by the door for a little while, then chose to sit outside and watch the water.
You were wary at first, staring at the little fish dancing about, but as norm took a painstakingly long time, it let you warm up to the flowing form of ey-wa. By the time an hour passed, you were lying chest down on the dock, both of your hands in the water, swirling figure eights into the foamy sea. The small sea creatures ebbed and flowed, following your hand , you watched the glittering little white squids play your fingers, they were almost cute.
You'd never seen such creatures before, they were different from any fish you’d ever seen at home, even in the biggest bodies of water. Your eyes followed them as they perked up and down in the water, putting on a show for you. The little squids held your attention so well that you barely even noticed the heavyset footsteps behind you. Not until it was too late.
A large hand hooked around your ankle, and with a swift motion, threw you off the peer, no warning, just a harsh splash as you plunged face first into the water. Shattering your mask along the way.
You hit the water heavy, diving in head first with a bent neck to the point of pain. All of a sudden, panic filled your lungs just as fast as water did, and you forgot all of the things anybody had ever told you about swimming, which already, was very little. You hadn't realized how deep the water really was, and before you knew it, you panicked more. Oh god.
your body Is sinking.
You flung your hands around, thrashing and splashing in the deep water, the fish around you swam around in a circle, seemingly trying to help. The glass that had broken upon impact found it's way into your eyes, and you let out a scream, continuing to thrash around.
Any efforts made to rise back to the surface were beaten by your lack of oxygen, and as the last bubbles of air left your mouth, you choked on your tongue, and began to fully drown. Black spots danced around in your peripheral vision, slowly closing in on you, your throat closed up, and your thrashing began to be much less violent, instead being replaced with small, weak movements.you heard yelling, but it was too far away to understand.
And then it all went blank.
---
“Tell them! Tell them what you told me!” A voice echoed around you. when you came to your senses, and were able to open your eyes, you were sitting in your own puddle of water, wet clothes and wet hair. A salty taste in your mouth. Your head was in Tuk’s lap, and she held an oxygen mask over your mouth and nose, smiling at you goofily when you met her eyes.
Your eyes burned, and you could feel how red and puffy they were without even touching them. You took deep breaths, remembering what it felt like to have all the air in your system sucked out of you, to slowly sink down with the increasing pressure of the water. So, instead of focusing on that, you sat up, locking eyes with neteyam, who was holding anoung by his ear, yelling at tonowari and ronal.
“It was supposed to be a joke- I didn’t think the human would drown!” The teal skinned na-vi slurred out, his mouth was bleeding, and a nasty blue bruise was already beginning to form on his temple. Jake and neytiri just stared at the scene, choosing not to speak, neither of them had ever seen neteyam so… unhinged.
Usually, he was the most perfect oldest child any parent could ask for, following rules, having a kind heart, listening like a puppy. But now. He had a look, more than a look really, his entire posture had changed, he looked uncontrolled, he looked like lo-ak . Neteyam punched that metkayina boy so fast it was uncanny. He looked feral, as the boy glanced between you and anoung, there was a deep ferocity in his gaze.
Even neteyam himself didn’t understand why he was acting like this, but seeing you underwater, and seeing the little pieces of glass from your mask float to the top, seeing you struggle so hard. It brought out something in him, something that made him want to bus anoungs face in. His dad even told him to calm down, but he still punched him in the face so hard it brought stars in his vision.
Nothing they say would change a damn thing. So they stayed quiet.
“The human has a name. What if she had died? What would you have done then? Would it still have been a joke?” Neteyam continued to scream, smashing the back of his head. The Navi boy just looked down in embarrassment, people were staring now. Including You, who was staring wide eyed at neteyam, not knowing wether to be mildly afraid at the sudden change in character for him, or to be happy that he’s so keen on defending you.
“Well, she didn’t, she’s fine.” Anoung replied, shoving off neteyam, who hissed at him in return, you wanted to laugh at how strange the boy you’d known since you were just a baby was acting. He was never so harsh, and he never got into conflict unless lo-ak started it. Was he really going this far for you?
Apparently, yes he was.
“Ill fucking kill you, you fish brained fu-“ neteyam puffed his chest out, curling up his fists and making the motion to run up and sock him in the face, again. Lo-ak, bring the chaotic instigator he is, was of course, cheering his brother on, neytiri hushed him.
This wasn’t good, they had clearly worked so hard to develop their relationship with these people, and you’d crushed it down in a few seconds. So, instead of letting things get worse and making the entire sully family get kicked out, you stood up from your spot, pulling your hand away from Tuk, and slowly walked to neteyam. You seperated the space between the two idiots, and eventually grabbed neteyams hand.
“Neteyam, Stop it. I’m fine.” He scowled at you, breathing heavily, barely able to contain his anger. But he still listened to you anyway, choosing to follow you away as you walked back to kiris hut. His hand found it’s way placed firmly on your shoulder on a protective stance, and he turned around one last time to meet anoungns gaze, smirking at the blood that left his nose and mouth, daring him to say anything. He didn’t.
“If anybody ever touches you again, I’ll shoot them. I love you too much to see you hurt” He squeezed your shoulder with a smile, sending death threats with such ease. You let out a short laugh, and let him walk you away, choosing to ignore how his “I love you” felt different all of a sudden.
“I probably won’t be taking you up on that offer.”
—-
*bonus*
“Someone’s got a boyfrieeendddd” kiri teased, wiggling her fingers at you and dragging out the word for way too long. This is how you were greeted when you walked into the hut. Tuk had been gossiping with her about it, and had filled her in completely.
“What?”
“Y/n and neteyam sittin in a tree k-i-s-s-i” tuk started, and kiri giggled at how red you automatically got at the mention of him. You didn’t know what to do, you couldn’t just leave because that would be even more embarrassing, but you also didn’t want to talk tot he. About it-
“Shut up- oh my god shut up- somebody will hear you”
“oHhHhHhHh somebody like neteyam?” Kiri kept going, practically yelling out the words for anybody who was even remotely close to hear. You covered your face with your hands in embarrassment and glared daggers at the two giggling toddlers.
“I will kill both of you right now.” Your threats only seemed to spark more enthusiasm from the both of them, and even though you tried your hardest to get them to shut up, nothing worked. They went through fit after fit of giggles, until eventually kiri paused from laughter.
“Ok ok fine- you just have to promise me one thing.” Sending one of her smiles to you, the one that makes you know
“…go on.”
“Promise that my brother won’t steal you from me forever. And I mean it- I want my designated hour a day-“ she joked, still very loud, still doing anything and everything to make you as embarrassed as she could.
“Jesus Christ. Yeah, I promise
Your brother won’t steal me forever”
———————————————————————-
Ngl I’ve been reading way too many father jake x daughter reader fics and it’s rotting my brain away. But if you want to request those I’m so down.
Anyways I completely misunderstood this as a neteyam x reader request and only saw it once I was finished. And there is no way I’m deleting an entire fic now. So I hope it’s good
Thanks for requesting anon! And thanks so much for reading my lovely readers!

Military Ball
This fanfic is based off of the post by @apathetickun !! I did change up the dialouge a little bit but i wouldnt have had the idea if it wasnt for their post!!
I am open to construtive critisim! just be nice!:)
Words: 1.1k
Summary: You go a military ball with the task force.
Tumblr media
You are going to be late.
You're going to be late to a military ball, of all things!  Soap said it wouldn’t be a bad idea to go, see all of us dressed up. Price agreed which was a shock, saying it would be refreshing to see our teammates out of the uniform, ya know switch it up.
So here you are showing up late. You weren’t trying to be late but where they are holding the ball is a long drive and traffic was a problem. Eventually you show up, 45 minutes late but hey you got here. You let a calm sigh as you walk towards the doors. Before you open them you check your phone camera to make sure you look presentable. You open the door and head in. As you walk in you notice a few people turn their heads. You brush it off and look for your team. You see Ghost as that man is hard to miss in a room. Soap, Gaz, and Price all see you and wave. You give them a small wave back.
“You're late, lass!” Soap chuckles.
“Ya ya, I know.” You say.
“Lovely dress.” Gaz comments.
“Thanks. I haven’t worn one in a while.” You say. You can Ghosts eyes on you. You had harbored feelings for your lieutenant for a while now.
“How about some drinks?” Soap suggests.
“Sure, bourbon?” You say, a unanimous yes for the team. Soap nods and walks to the bar.  You glance at Ghost. He looks phenomenal in his suit, although you think he looks good all the time, but this just feels different. Soap comes back with the drinks. You end up downing it.
“Damn lass didn’t know you could do that.” Soap comments with a sly smirk. You roll your eyes.
“She’s probably trying to get comfortable.” Ghost says. I nod
“Ya, loosen up a little.” You chime.
“We should do shots.” You suggest. “Just a few!” You add. Soap nods.
“Oh definitely! We are having fun tonight!” Soap says rushing to the bar. You hear Ghost let out a small sigh.
“Bored, Lt?” You ask.
“A little but watching Johnny get wasted at a military ball is entertaining.” He says, you nod.
“Ya it is.” You say, wanting to continue the conversation but not knowing what to say. Soap comes back with the shots. You watch Ghost lift his mask up to take a sip of his bourbon. God how you wanted to kiss them. You quickly look away with a light blush on your face.
“Y/n you're a genius, shots are a great idea!” Soap says, downing two.
“Maybe calm down a little. I’m not driving anyone home.” Price says. As the night progressed on Soap drank more, you had calmed down since you were driving. Before you released people were slow dancing. Price, Gaz, and Soap and found a table to sit at since Soap wasn’t being the smartest, but hey whats new. You shift your gaze to Ghost who is working on his second glass of bourbon, while you work on a glass of white wine.
“Do you like dancing, Ghost?” You ask, the drinks getting to you. It takes a moment for him to answer.
“No, not really.” He says. You nod, feeling weirdly disappointed. You take a sip from your drink trying to think of a way to change the subject.
“Do you like dancing, y/n?” He asks. You nod.
“Ya, but never got asked.” I say with a small chuckle. You take another sip of wine and watch as Ghost takes a sip of his drink.  You watch Ghost set his drink down and turn his body to you.
“.....Would you like to dance?” He asks, holding his hand out. You're taken aback by the situation unfolding in front of you. You can’t tell but Ghost is freaking out underneath the mask.
“I would love to, ghost.” You say resting your hand in his. As you guys walked to the dance floor you started panicking a little. You were going to dance with your lieutenant, the man you have feelings for. Now you're facing him, face flushed red. He sets his hands on your hips and you put yours around his neck.
“You look good tonight, ghost.” You say.
“Call me Simon.” He says.
“Well, then you good Simon.” You say. You can’t see but he is losing his mind, the nights he’s spent thinking about you, how you invaded his everyday thoughts. You don’t know the effect you have on him.
“Love the dress.” He says, his eyes roaming your body.
“Thank you.” You say, your bodies slowly swaying to the music and leaving little room between the two of you. You could stay like this forever, in his arms, you feel at peace and like the world is quiet for once. You feel as though you are the only two people here. Just you and Simon. It's perfect. You couldn’t ask for anything better than this.
“Can I tell you something?” You ask.
“Of course.” He says. You lean up to his ear, thinking with your heart not your head.
“I like you, Simon.” You whisper.
“Oh, do you now?” He asks.
“Yep.” You say, popping the p. “You're just so perfect. I know you have been through a lot and I just want to show that not everything in this world is cruel and unjust. I want you to be able to feel the love you should have gotten and should be getting.” You add, letting your feelings pour out of you. Before you can get another word out you feel Simon’s lips on yours. His hands pulling you close.
“I like you too, y/n.” He says. You didn’t care about anything else right now. You felt like you were on cloud 9. You kiss him again. His lips moving against yours and his hands on your hips. Then you hear whistling and apploses, right there's other people here. You feel your face get red.
“Fucking hell.” He mumbles, his hand still on the small of your back.
“Well, shall we join our teammates for the rest of the night?” You say.
“What if we left?” He suggests.
“You know what, ya, my feet hurt.” You say. You say your goodbyes and Simon walks you out to your car, which isn’t too far from his.
“I’ll call you in the morning and we can have a clear conversation about this ok?” Simon says. You nod.
“Of course.” You say smiling. Simon kisses you one last time before you guys have to go your separate ways. This night turned out to be a good one.

HELLO HOPE UR HAVING A NICE DAY! i would like to request a shinobu x fem!reader(she/her) :) ok so, this is when shinobu is in her past personality and kanae is still alive, reader has a crush on the grumpy shinobu and tries to court her but, shinobu denies all of the reader’s confessions because shes scared to be in a relationship considering the world theyre in. (obv reader doesnt give up but i wouldnt either) fast travel to kanaes death and reader tries to cheer shinobu up but suddenly shinobu just snaps at the reader (due to stress and overwhelmness) and tells reader to leave her alone for good and reader does just that. reader stops with trying to court shinobu and shinobu will lowkey miss the readers shenanigans and shinobu deeply regrets yelling at reader, so shinobu goes to reader and apologizes and they live happily ever after! I HOPE THAT WASNT TOO COMPLICATED! I TRIED TO MAKE IT SIMPLE BUT MY BRAIN IS IMAGINING SO MUCH AND I HAD RO GET THIS ONE OUT 😍 I LOVE ALL OF YOUR FICS AND YOUVE BEEN MY FAV SHINOBU WRITER IN TUMBLR! HAVE A NICE DAY/NIGHT -⭐️
A Trade of Equal Value
Shinobu Kochou x She/Her Reader
A/N: I had a pretty good time writing this one (even if I was still working on it at 2am last night lol)! The timeline is also kinda scuffed because I didn’t want to write in the four years between Kanae’s death and where Shinobu is mentally by the time Tanjirou and Co come around, but I still imagine her at the same age she is when the boys are introduced. I also got pretty angsty with Kanae’s death and Shinobu lashing out, but as usual, it turns out alright in the end.I feel like I should also note that Shinobu has a panic attack which I have bracketed with ‘~~~’. Shinobu even gets a little Gomez Addams-y at the end which I think is pretty nice if I do say so myself. Thanks for the request, I hope you like the result! Word Count: 4,906
“Shinobu, wait up!”
Shinobu exhaled audibly and Kanae giggled beside her, hooking her arm with Shinobu’s so that she couldn’t escape the other demon slayer quickly catching up to them.
“Be nice,” Kanae advised her.
“I’m plenty nice.” Shinobu whispered defensively. She enjoyed (Y/n)’s company more than most of the other people she had to deal with on a daily basis, but she was just getting back from a mission that lasted all night and she was too tired to cater to whatever scheme (Y/n) was cooking up this time.
“Shinobu!” (Y/n) caught up to the sisters and hugged Shinobu from behind, “And hello to you too, Kanae-san!”
“Hello, (Y/n)-chan, how was your night?” Kanae asked, nearly smirking as her rosy-cheeked sister attempted to free herself from (Y/n)’s embrace. (Y/n) showed Shinobu mercy by letting her go and walking at her side instead.
“Pretty quiet. Everything went alright on your end?”
“Just fine.” Kanae confirmed.
“Good! So, um, Shinobu,”
Oh gods, here she goes again… Shinobu braced herself.
“There is a street festival going on in downtown Tokyo tomorrow. Want to go check it out with me? As a date? Or not… whatever you are more comfortable with.”
“What a fun idea!” Kanae spoke on Shinobu’s behalf, “She’ll be happy to go with you!”
“Neesan!” Shinobu objected.
“Am I wrong?” Kanae pouted, “would you not like to spend time with (Y/n)? Should I maybe go with her instead? I wouldn’t mind getting out for the day.”
Shinobu turned her head so (Y/n) couldn’t see her face and scowled at Kanae. Never let it be said that Kanae couldn’t be as conniving as she was kind.
Shinobu had met (Y/n) during Final Selection. They had spent most of that hellish week together, quickly forming a rapport that continued even after they made it out of the wisteria forest. They went on missions together often and spent a lot of off time together too.
They grew very close, close enough that Shinobu’s mood would sour when (Y/n) wasn’t around. Close enough that Kanae felt the need to tease her about how close they walked together in the halls. Close enough that (Y/n) had confessed to Shinobu a few weeks ago and was now trying yet another courting attempt.
Shinobu enjoyed spending time with (Y/n), but if they became any closer than they already were and (Y/n) went out for a mission and never came back, Shinobu was afraid of where that would leave her. It was hard enough to lose people she had met in passing, friends, family… she didn’t want to know what it was like to lose a romantic partner too. She had already witnessed such a thing a few months back.
There was a fiancée of one slayer Shinobu had known in passing since she was a Kakushi. She had been sent to clean up a location before another demon was discovered in the area. Woefully ill-equipped to deal with the situation, she had lost her life.
When the slayer who was her betrothed had received the news, he deteriorated over the next three weeks before finally passing away in his bed at the Butterfly Estate. Shinobu had fumed over the loss.
“There was nothing wrong with him!” She had exclaimed heatedly, angry at the situation. She had been unable to find anything physically wrong with the young man in all the tests she had done.
Kanae smiled sympathetically and put her hands on Shinobu’s shoulders as they watched the Kakushi remove the covered body from the infirmary.
“Sometimes there is just no curing a broken heart,” She had replied.
“I’ll go.” Shinobu gave Kanae a warning glare when her lips split into a larger smile, then she turned back to (Y/n), making the girl jump at the intensity of her stare, “But it is not a date.”
(Y/n) closed her eyes briefly and exhaled softly through her nose before giving Shinobu a small shrug and a relaxed smile, “Understood.”
That’s how it always went. (Y/n) sweetly telling Shinobu she loved her with little gifts and proposed outings with intentions clear. It became as normal a part of their relationship as anything else they did together.
Time and time again, Shinobu would deny her, but always kept her close. She would never admit it, never give herself a moment to reflect on it, but every time (Y/n) expressed her interest in courting her, although Shinobu denied her at every turn, she always felt a sense of relief that (Y/n) was still interested in her.
There had been a few occasions where (Y/n) had gotten friendly with other people and put Shinobu on edge. These instances made her feel jealous and more irritable than what was common for the younger of the Kochou sisters, but (Y/n) always came back to her in the end, even if Shinobu had to do a little prodding behind the scenes.
Kanae had noticed one such occasion and gently scolded Shinobu for it.
“If you are not intending to pursue a courtship with (Y/n), you really mustn’t sabotage the potential for her to find someone who wants to do what you will not. That wouldn’t be fair. Don’t keep her heart if you are not going to share yours in return. Regardless of what you decide, you must treat (Y/n) well. Friend or lover. Do you understand, Shinobu?”
To be lectured by Kanae was truly humbling and even embarrassing to an extent. If Kanae actually scolded someone, one would assume they must have really deserved it. Which is why Shinobu grunted a quick, “yes”, with her eyes cast shamefully to the floor before all but stomping away.
So maybe she had gone a bit overboard interfering with (Y/n)’s sparring partner’s recovery training schedule, but in her defense, (Y/n) was her partner first. Even if she had been okay with back to back sessions, Shinobu didn’t want anything less than (Y/n)’s best when they sparred so that meant nameless-sparkly-eyed-touchy-slayer had to find something else to occupy their time.
Turning the corner after exiting Kanae’s room, she found (Y/n) waiting for her. Leaning against the wall with a couple of wooden swords in her hands, she offered one to Shinobu with a inquisitive look.
“Want to let off some steam?” She asked.
“Yeah,” Shinobu managed a small grin at the offer, taking the sword and ignoring the tingles that traveled through her body when their hands touched.
This was what she wanted, the same steadfast compatibility they had when they met in the forest. Nothing scary, just them in their most pure and uncomplicated form. Was that so wrong? Kanae shouldn’t judge Shinobu for wanting this… the only opinions that mattered in this instance were her own and (Y/n)’s, and perhaps that was true to an extent, but Kanae’s wisdom about treating (Y/n)’s heart with care should not have been so easily pushed to the back of Shinobu’s mind… because it would be the last time such advice left Kanae’s lips.
The preparations for Kanae’s funeral had simultaneously happened agonizingly slow and all too fast. The most time Shinobu had to process her sister’s death was probably in those moments holding her beaten and bloodied body waiting for the Kakushi to collect her from the battlefield. She had held her long enough to notice how her skin had gone cold as the sunrise broke over the hills much too late to save the Hashira from her unforgiving fate. The emptiness she felt when the Kakushi finally arrived and gently took Kanae’s weight off of her almost felt worse than the initial death.
But there was no time to dwell on that. There was work to do. Cremation, service, paperwork, becoming the head of the mansion and taking on all of the duties that entailed. Meetings with Oyakata-sama himself and his condolences and hopes for her moving forward. She had already been close to becoming eligible for a Hashira position herself, but she hadn’t thought she would soon be replacing her sister instead of sitting beside her.
~~~
When she could finally be alone, Shinobu collapsed onto the tatami floor of her bedroom and wept, Kanae’s haori tightly wound within her grasp. What would she do? What would she do without her? Her sister, who loved and understood her more than any other, gone with one last, rattling breath that even now echoed within Shinobu’s ears. Her own breathing now was too shallow, her eyes stung and she couldn’t see. Her stomach felt cold and heart twisted so viscously in her chest that she felt physically ill.
Hands suddenly wrapped around her biceps and she tried to pull away, still struggling to breathe. The hands left for but a moment before they returned, fingers touching more cautiously than before. Slowly running up and down her arms to her hands and then back up to shoulders and the back of her neck, continuing the motion repeatedly.
Over time, the static in her ears dissipated and she was able to hear a soft voice, urging her to breath. She suddenly felt so exhausted that she couldn’t keep herself upright and fell forward, but instead of the floor, forehead fell against something more solid, but not hard. The arms wrapped around her and the voice continued to coax her to breathe, now gently swaying her from side to side.
~~~
Shinobu had no idea how much time had passed when she finally had the strength to pull away, seeing (Y/n) looking over her with worry. It made her feel so small and powerless and… and angry.
“Why,” Shinobu rasped sharply, “are you here?”
(Y/n) flinched backward at Shinobu’s tone, swallowing a lump in the back of her throat before answering.
“With everything that happened, I was worried about you. I could hear you from the hall, you scared me.”
“So?” Shinobu spat, trying to get up, but her legs weren’t cooperating. (Y/n) reached forward to help her, “Don’t.” Shinobu quickly rebuffed.
(Y/n)’s hands returned to her lap, tightly clasped. “I’m sorry. I’ve never seen you like this before. Please, tell me how I can help.”
“I don’t want your help.” Shinobu growled. “Why, why can’t you just leave me alone? You just can’t take no for an answer, can you?” Shinobu wasn’t yelling, but the harshness of her tone was just as sharp in (Y/n)’s ears. “Help me,” She scoffed, though it sounded more like a whimper in her ears, making her more angry, “unless you can bring the dead back to life, stay the hell away from me.”
“Shinobu, please—“
Shinobu was so full of rage and anguish, her misdirected anger only became more pointed. The lack of control was eating at her, she felt like she was lost on treacherous seas, trying to stay afloat by dragging (Y/n) under the churning black water so that she could maybe get just one full breath without swallowing the salty brine. It would be so easy. The one thing that she could control.
“This isn’t something you can fix! This isn’t a fairy tale where you get the girl by saying a few sappy half-baked sentiments. How many times do I have to tell you that I don’t want you?”
The words struck (Y/n) deeply, but she tried to power through, “That’s not why I’m here, Shinobu. I swear I’m not expecting anything to change. You’re hurting, and as your friend I—“
“You aren’t my friend!” Shinobu shouted. “Time and time again you ask to court me. Time and time again I refuse you. Your narcissism knows no bounds... The kindness you are attempting to show me is a forgery! A means to the end you keep badgering me for! You are reprehensible, a thorn wedged in my side, I can’t stand you, can’t you see that?! Leave!”
Shinobu’s heavy breathing was deafening in the quiet left behind by her words. Glaring down at (Y/n), she felt no lighter. No weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. In fact, as the sound of silence grew, the air around them only seemed to become thicker.
After stewing in the silence, (Y/n) attempted to speak. Her voice cracked on the first word and with it, Shinobu’s heart. She slowly got to her feet as if she had been physically beaten, avoiding Shinobu’s eyes as she turned away to wipe at her own.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered through a hitched sob that made Shinobu’s blood chill, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you felt like that.”
Tell her you don’t. Take it all back, hurry. Try to make it better. Don’t let her slip away too. A hurried whisper within Shinobu’s mind pleaded, but she found herself mute, still and rigid as a statue. Her mind was fuzzy, yet somehow working in overdrive, but she appeared to not have the means to do anything about it.
“I never wanted you to feel uncomfortable. It was hard enough asking the first time, I wouldn’t have asked again if Kanae-san,” another choked sob, “if she hadn’t encourage me to keep trying, if she hadn’t sounded so sure that you felt the same, I wouldn’t have bothered you after that...
Even so, I should have noticed how you really felt. I didn’t pay close enough attention, yet I still claimed to love you. I really am the worst, huh?”
Shinobu could see the terrible false smile (Y/n) wore as she slowly slid the door open and shuffled into the hall. The voice in Shinobu’s head screamed at her to move, to speak, to stop (Y/n) from slipping out of the room completely, but she still stood stubbornly frozen.
“I’m sorry, I’ll leave you alone. I promise.”
The door closed, furthering the chasm between them and casting Shinobu’s room in darkness once more. She could hear (Y/n)’s footsteps fading, but instead of following, she slid back down to the floor in a strange state between wakefulness and unconsciousness. Not quite grasping the gravity of this event until much later when the other girls finally had her eating and sleeping properly again and she had some time to reflect.
(Y/n) had made good on her promise to leave Shinobu alone. When Shinobu had worked up the courage to find her and apologize for all the awful things she said nearly a month ago, the room that was all but officially (Y/n)’s was uniform with the other empty rooms spread across the mansion.
Kiyo had found her standing in the doorway and timidly approached.
“(Y/n)-san told us that she was going to ask the Stone Hashira if he was willing to take on another Tsuguko. Her crow sent us a letter a couple days later. She was accepted. The Kakushi helped relocate her belongings.”
“Oh.” Shinobu softly exclaimed, because what else could she say? It was either that or sink to the floor like a slug and Shinobu wasn’t quite ready to go that route yet.
“But now that you know, you could go talk to her. If you wanted to.” Kiyo cautiously added. She and the other girls may or may not have caught wind of what had happened, but were too nervous to try to interfere before now.
“Thank you, Kiyo. I think I will do just that.”
***
“Himejima-san, please.”
Shinobu couldn’t believe that Gyomei of all people was getting in her way of speaking to (Y/n). The man who had saved her and introduced her to a cultivator had been a father figure to her for years now and to have him standing in her way like he was now stung.
“It is not my decision to make,” Gyomei shook his head, still standing firm, “She does not wish to see you. Why that is, I do not know, but it is the decision she has made and one that I must honor.”
“I need to see her, it’s urgent.” She insisted.
“Is her health failing?”
“No.”
“Does she have a mission?”
“…No.”
“Then I see no reason to yield, young Kochou.” Gyomei shook his head woefully, “But I can tell this is important to you, if you have a message for her, I shall relay it for you if you are comfortable.”
Shinobu stared past Gyomei, looking longingly at the towering fence that enclosed his estate. She honed in on the sound of slayers training beyond the walls, hoping to hear (Y/n)’s voice among the shouts and grunts and clacking practice swords, but heard no such sound in the commotion.
“Can I write it out myself?” She asked Gyomei. He nodded.
“I will allow it… Again, I don’t know what this is about, but take time and care in writing what you want to say. You can send En by when you’ve completed your letter or hand it off to myself.”
“Very well. I shall do that.” With one last look at the tall fence, Shinobu turned to leave and Gyomei spoke up once more.
“Do not get disheartened if you do not get the results you hope for right away. Find a happy medium between patience and persistence and perhaps she will come around.”
“I’ll keep it in mind. Thank you.”
As soon as Shinobu got home, she locked herself in her office for hours and every attempted draft of apology could not even begin to touch on all she regretted. Her waste bin was overflowing by the time she had something that didn’t immediately make her want to rip the offending paper in two. Before she could change her mind, she sent En off with the letter and waited anxiously for a reply. Hoping beyond hope they could go back to where they were before. Shinobu needed that familiarity and stability. She craved it. Fortunately, she didn’t have to wait terribly long for a reply, but unfortunately it read,
I’m relieved to hear you are in a better place, but just as you have had time to reflect on that night, I have as well.
Your words that night hurt me in a way that I’ve never been hurt before, made worse by the fact that it was you who had said them to me.
Part of me wanted to be furious with you, I thought that I should be, but I wasn’t. I was empathetic to your loss and the new responsibilities that were thrust upon you. But even though I tried to convince myself that you lashed out because of the pressure, I believe there was some truth in what you had said.
If I could go back in time, I would have just kept my feelings to myself to spare us all the trouble. Despite this, I am happy that you hope to patch things up between us.
However, in my reflection, I came to the conclusion that even after all of this, I am still hopelessly in love with you despite everything. In the interest of preserving my heart, and saving you from the discomfort of my affections, I do not think it wise for us to reconnect. At least, not until I manage to get over you. I don’t know how long that will take, but given that not a waking hour passes that I don’t think about you, it probably won’t be any time soon.
I’m sorry if it makes you uncomfortable to read this, I’m just trying to be honest. Tell the girls I said hi, and please take care of yourself.
Wishing you the best,
(Y/n)
“Wishing you the best?” Shinobu hissed under her breath, the paper crinkling between the harsh pinching of her fingertips. “There is no best of me without you, idiot.”
Shinobu allowed herself time to cry, but not a lot. Gyomei’s words were still on her mind. If she wanted (Y/n) back, she wasn’t going to get her by crying, but now she needed to make a very important choice.
Continue to push for friendship, or confront the romantic feelings that she had fought like hell to keep hidden. Was accepting those feelings and the vulnerability the would bring worse than not having (Y/n) in her life at all?
“Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” Shinobu softly pondered the old proverb. Kanae had been a fan of the saying and Shinobu had never really understood the sentiment until now.
Though she was going to fight like hell to be worthy of the love she had lost and reclaim it once more.
***
“Another letter? En, that’s three just today. You don’t have to bend to her every whim.” (Y/n) fussed over the bird, setting her up with fresh water and seed.
“It is important to Shinobu, so it is important to me.” The loyal crow proudly stated, though she was very grateful for (Y/n)’s continued hospitality.
“Just try not to over do it.” (Y/n) sighed and unfurled the letter, quickly catching the pressed flowers within and quietly cursing as bits of the brittle plants flaked off and fell to the floor. She carefully paced the dried flowers on her desk and scanned over the letter, finding it to be another poem. “What is she trying to achieve here? Why is she doing this?”
“To win back your trust, your heart,” En cocked her head left and then right, “Is it not obvious? Should I suggest being more direct?”
“Why does she want my heart so badly all of the sudden?” A bit of irritation slipping into her tone, “Is it something she wants to seal up in a jar? Bet she’d enjoying having it up on a shelf in the lab. Maybe a paper weight on her desk.”
“You humans vex me,” En’s feathers ruffled, “just give each other something shiny and make up.”
“If only it were that simple.” (Y/n) murmured, finishing her curt response to Shinobu’s poem, denying her a visit once again. She then placed the letter beside En. “You can take your time heading back, and if she tries to insist on a fourth delivery today, turn her down for the good of your health.”
En released a low caw that could only be interpreted as a scoff. Promptly scooping up the letter and taking her leave, passing Gyomei in the hallway.
“(Y/n), is all well? You are late for training.”
(Y/n) winced, “I’m so sorry Master. I got distracted.”
“Kochou-san again?”
“Yes…”
“And you still will not see her?” (Y/n)’s silence was answer enough. “Why?”
“I guess when it comes right down to it, I’m scared. Whether it’s me putting my own heart out there, or her actively trying to obtain it, I feel like it will inevitably end the same and I don’t think I could go through that again.”
Gyomei hummed thoughtfully, “I think I understand your concerns. Matters of the heart are certainly not easy. Especially when it has already been hurt before. I’m sure you will make your peace with her soon, but I pray that peace and satisfaction will find you sooner.”
“Thank you, Master.”
“Can I expect you to join the rest of your peers for training now?”
“Of course!”
“Wonderful. I expect you to have two boulders beaten down to gravel by nightfall.”
(Y/n)’s shoulders slumped and she suppressed a groan.
“Yes, sir.”
This would be a long day…
***
Shinobu halfheartedly paged through the new medicinal tome that had arrived the day prior. She had been eagerly anticipating its arrival for months, but now with En’s latest return proving she had failed to entice (Y/n) once again, she hardly had the motivation.
She was surprised when Gyomei’s crow, Zekka, came to perch at her window some hours later. She took the letter from his beak and he quickly flew off. He was not expecting a reply, she supposed. She unfurled the textured paper and scanned the punched message which simply read,
The best way to receive what it is you are looking for, is to give something of equal value in return.
Himejima Gyomei
“Really, Himejima-san, is this supposed to be a riddle?” Shinobu shook her head, but a determined spark lit up her eyes and she got to work.
***
(Y/n) slumped to the ground, uncaring that she was resting in a pile of rubble. She had destroyed the boulders just as the sun had sank behind the mountains, but at what cost? Himejima seemed nice, but his training was beyond brutal. If the secret of Stone Breathing was to make one’s arms as heavy and stiff as stone, (Y/n) was surely going to be a Master in no time. Her eyes drooped shut. It wouldn’t be the first time she took a dirt nap after training, but an insistent voice was preventing that.
“Hello, hello, please don’t fall asleep out here, (Y/n). I could probably name ten different reasons why it would be a horrible decision.”
Cold hands prodded at her face and sore arms, making her groan in protest and try to shimmy away.
“If you don’t massage and stretch now, you are going to be completely immobile tomorrow. Which may be helpful actually, at least then you won’t be able to run away from me.”
(Y/n) heard her arm crack and pop, which would have have alarming except it felt like a relief. She cracked opened her eyes, soon blown wide open when she realized who was busy cracking and rotating her aching wrist. If her heart had ever raced when she saw Shinobu (which it did) it was sprinting now. Damn traitorous organ never learned.
“What are you doing here? How are you here?” She whispered, not even because she was pretty sure she was dehydrated, but because it just felt appropriate to whisper.
“Jumped over the fence.” Shinobu answered casually, taking her time cracking (Y/n)’s knuckles and massaging her palm now, “Though I’m sure Himejima-san is well aware of my presence and wouldn’t have minded me using the front gate this time around. And for your first question, I’m here for you.”
“Shinobu, I told you that I—“
“—I have something I want to give you formally. What you decide to do from there is completely your choice. I know I have always asked a lot of you, but please allow me this once more.”
“…Okay.” Even after nearly four months of separation, (Y/n) found herself still unable to deny her. In her mind, this did not bode well for what little progress she thought she had made.
“Thank you.”
Shinobu stoked her thumbs over the palm of (Y/n)’s hand before bringing it to her chest, placing it over her heart and holding it there with both hands.
“Wh-what are you doing?” (Y/n) squeaked, trying to inch her palm higher, somehere above Shinobu’s clavicle and not quite so close to the swell of her chest, but Shinobu held firm.
“Do you feel that?” She asked.
“What am I supposed to be feeling?!”
“My heartbeat, of course. Can’t you feel it? It’s beating rather hard right now.”
It was hard to pay attention to anything other than her own racing heart if she was honest. Besides, a hand to someone’s chest wasn’t the best way to find a pulse. Shinobu of all people should know that.
“Maybe this will help.”
(Y/n) let Shinobu shift their positions around, mostly because she was still stiff and her body was refusing to cooperate with her own wishes. After a bit of maneuvering, she found her cheek resting on Shinobu’s chest instead, a speedy and strong drumbeat pressed against her ear.
“Is that better?” Shinobu asked.
“Why are you doing this?”
“To show you that you are not alone, that this is the power you have over me. My heart is yours, it always has been, but I’m giving it to you formally now.”
“Shinobu, I can’t—“
“I don’t expect you to give yours in return, I know I don’t deserve it yet, but I hope to one day. Will you allow me the honor of courting you. You owe me nothing, but I beg of you to allow me the chance to love you the way you deserve to be loved.”
“Why the change of heart?”
“Because losing out on the moments we could have while living together is more frightening to me than death itself. I don’t know how much time either of us has, but I want to spend it all with you.”
(Y/n)’s breath caught in her throat and her eyes began to water. A quiet sob shook her shoulders and she felt Shinobu’s arms tighten around her. She was so doomed. Try as she might, her heart was very clear. It belonged to Shinobu, no matter what she decided to do. That didn’t mean she couldn’t make her really work for it though.
“Alright, I accept,” (Y/n) sniffed, “you may court me.”
Shinobu gasped softly then took (Y/n)’s hand from her lap, kissing the back of it while locking eyes with her. The intensity of her stare sent a shiver down (Y/n)’s spine.
“I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity. The same one I had denied you of several times in the past. The goddess my heart is devoted to is a merciful one. How unworthy I am of your blessing.”
“I think you have been reading too much poetry.” (Y/n) spoke in a strained whisper, flustered by Shinobu’s intensity. She had never imagined she could be like this.
“Oh this is only the beginning,” Shinobu declared, a purple flame burning in her eyes more vibrantly than any chemical reaction could produce, “You best prepare yourself.”

momentarily back on my DBD bullshit lets go:
so i was looking at this gif from this one scene in episode 4 where tragic mick is explaining things, and he says “she lets out a feeling of yearning with her light and people fill in the blanks with whoever they miss”
We can pretty much guess that Niko heard her father and we know who crystal heard. But who did the boys hear?
my first theory for edwin is that he heard charles. Hear me out on this one, i know it sounds unlikely. I think we’re expecting it to be missing someone who is physically far away from you, but i can imagine Edwin missing charles on an emotional level. He misses when it was just them and they didn’t argue as much and charles wasn’t trying to go off with some girl. He misses being able to feel comfortable around charles. And hee feels a little bit as though Charles is being taken away from him by Crystal. Thats one of the reasons why he doesn’t like her.
my second idea for him is that he could hear his parents. In the edwardian period, parents werent the most hands on with their children, if they were rich wnough to afford a nanny then they wouldn’t spend as much time with their children, they might only see them at meals and occasionally bump into them around the house. So Edwin would have grown up with parents who were stern and not present and who didn’t really seem to like him no matter what he did. Imagine that, and then you hear your mothers voice one more time, telling you she loved you and how distraught your ‘disappearance’ made her and how all she wanted to do was hold you in her arms. Or your father, telling you he’s so proud of the person you’ve become. It’s understandable right? However, this wouldnt quite be correct. Edwin would immediately notice how they werent acting respectable, and that no mother from his era would break down in tears and babble about hugs and loving her son. So he would write it off as wrong. I think this is a pretty strong idea, and it can be why he didn’t feel the same urge that crystal did.
the last one is that it was someone from his past who hasn’t come up in the show yet. A friend perhaps? Which unfortunately we don’t know and we might never find out.
for charles, its a much easier question to answer. I think he heard his mother, whispering about how she didn’t blame him for his father’s actions and how at least he did the right thing, and how she missed him so much. I think that would break him a little, but once again he would notice that his mother can’t be there, he saw her sat at home through the mirror only a few days ago. So he wouldnt be tempted to jump.
~these are just my theories and if you have any thoughts or other ideas dont hesitate to reblog or comment! Have a good day loves :)

ive been playing stp for a few hours now. but i’ll say my thoughts here…
holy shit its so good! i love it its fucking great. i think i managed to get some of the new update things but since i held back on playing before the pristine cut came out i wouldnt actually know. i have a guess considering how rare certain achievements are, though…
listing more specific, very rambley, VERY SPOILERY thoughts on the paths ive gone under the cut. do not click if you dont want to be spoiled I know what you are.
so, the endings i’ve gotten! so far:
The Cage - the part of being trapped in chains is a fucking nightmare scenario for me so kinda funny that i got it for my first one. the whole thing of “we can’t control where the story goes” being shown in both our character’s heads being cut off and having the bodies fight was. wow. i didnt say anything to convince her that she was wrong about the lack of free will, though maybe i should have. or maybe i should’ve picked up her head. too late now though… the image of her body walking towards us holding her head in a cage is SO fucking good.
Happily Ever After - hwat the fuck! fuck! ow? so i mean, i got to see a bit of narrator’s “happy” ending even though i let skeptic kill me in the end. so then getting that sort of ending, again, but having the narrator realize that it’s a horrible ending to have, and sounding so broken about it, and that last line from the narrator too…i miss this narrator. he’s the only one so far who’s realized that eternal, stagnant happiness isn’t a happy ending.
and the princess trying so hard to say she’s happy when she isn’t, trying to come up with new ideas to keep being happy, ultimately ending in “I don’t think I ever was”. even that first part of “dinner’s ready” really sent a chill down my spine because it just, sounded so sad. her walking outside with us, dancing under the stars, looking so much happier, even if it was a little cold..USUUHFHDJDNXKS
and the shadow behind her - smitten i assume - even though she isn’t literally chained this time, the shadow still holds her there - he kinda acts like the narrator does when you get the “happy” ending. does that make sense. this false happiness becoming her new chains - what the fuck. what the fuck!
and i mean, im the one who said we should stay in the cabin the chapter before (though i wasnt the one to rip my chest open Smitten CHILL) because i didn’t want her to leave. but at least we got to dance with her. at least she really was happy dancing under the stars before it ended. this is probably my favorite ending so far.
Mutally Assured Destruction - this one was so good. hearing all the different voices talking at once, them all coming up with their own ideas, and all of them failing until, in the end, we silence them all and having one final fight, with the princess and us stabbing each other, just like it was in the first chapter - fucking cool as hell.

Never Steal From The Devil : Kaz Brekker x Reader
Part 2
NSFTD Mini-Series Masterlist Navigation
Tumblr media
Desc. & Warnings: 2.8k wc, see mini series masterlist navigation page for description and warnings
Kaz’s hardened eyes narrowed in on Evrin as she spun around with shock.
Upon seeing Kaz, the only one not tailored, her surprised look changed to that of anger. She attempted to spin around and charge at him. But, she fell on her face when Kaz swiped his cane out in front of her. She growled and stood back up, her eyes dashing between Nina and Kaz, “You lied to me!”.
Nina felt a little bad until she remembered this girl was likely a culprit in the attack on Y/n. “I didn’t lie, dear” Nina corrected. She shrugged casually as she waved her hand around, “there’s more of the lotion here”. Nina pursed her lips as she added, “I didn’t promise Dirtyhands Brekker wouldn’t be here as well”. Nina didn’t bother to mention she hadn’t told the girl that the lotion wouldnt even work, that was irrelevant at the moment.
Evrin snapped her gaze to Kaz, “why? What do you want?”
Kaz pointed to the wooden chair and waited until Evrin sat before he approached. His eyes were dark as he peered down at her, “don’t ask stupid questions”.
The girl rolled her eyes, “fine. So, what do expect to get from me?”
Kaz tapped the top of his cane as he rose an eyebrow at her.
“Do you actually expect me just to cave and tell you where The Shadow is because of your murderous glare?” the girl rambled.
Kaz smirked at the mention of y/n’s nickname. He kept smirking as he shook his head, “no, that would be too easy”. Kaz’s pleased hum almost sounded like a menacing purr, “almost as easy as getting you to admit you know that information in the first place”. His smirk grew as the girl’s eyes widened in realization of her slip up.
Evrin’s eyes squinted in anger as she looked away from him, as if that would help her from what was coming her way.
Kaz waved his hand as he motioned for Nina to let Jesper enter from his spot behind the kitchen door.
Jesper walked out immediately, his pistols pulled from their holsters as he walked over to the girl. He wasn’t a big fan of having a role in this, but Kaz told him it wouldn’t be worse than anything he’d had him do before.
Evrin scoffed as she watched Jesper approach. “What, you’re going to shoot me? That’ll get the information out me really well when I’m dead” She mocked.
Kaz halfway rolled his eyes as he casually motioned for Jesper to move forward with the plan.
The sharpshooter pointed one pistol at the girl, his finger on the trigger. Jesper resisted the urge to close his eyes in fear of the off chance he missed as he curled his trigger finger backwards. The bullet dislodged from the chamber, and thanks to Jesper’s skills it lodged itself in the thin strip of wood from the chair peaking out beside the girl’s good arm. He intentionally nicked her skin with the edge of the bullet; as Kaz had directed. The blood slowly dropping from the graze as the girl gasped.
“Careful, I don’t need you alive to get the information” Kaz said coldly. He smirked again when Evrin’s eyes showed him her panic and confusion. “You see, Judson Basu,” he began, smirk widening as he saw her panic growing at the mention of her boyfriend’s name. Kaz continued, “stole something from me, so I figure I’d steal something from him”.
“She’s still alive! I swear!” Evrin panicked.
Kaz hummed, “I have no doubt of that. Y/n is far more capable than your group gives her credit for”. He quickly covered his statement, “all of my crows are”. Kaz stepped even closer to the girl as he narrowed his eyes. “But, I don’t have the time to wait for her to break her way out. I have business to attend to” He said, neglecting to mention that the business was ensuring y/n’s recovery and peace. “So I figured, I’d give your little lover,” Kaz mocked, “the chance to come rescue you in exchange for my Crow”.
Evrin swallowed as a look of uncertainty flashed over her features.
“Mmm I know that look” Kaz stated, tapping his cane on the floor. “You seem like a smart girl” he lied, “surely you know Judson is not coming for you”.
Evrin glanced around at the faces in the room, hoping one of them would find that Kaz gone too far and help her. But, she was met with almost bored expressions. His Crows were used to far worse than this.
“I sent word to Judson,” Kaz checked his pocket watch, “quite a while ago. It seems he wants to make things difficult for the both of us”. Kaz hummed, “I can’t blame him, I doubted someone like Judson would willingly trade The Shadow for someone who is merely his sexual partner”.
“Kaz,” Nina hissed.
Evrin looked down at her lap quietly.
Kaz had seemingly picked up on Evrin’s insecurity and hit it head on. He rolled his eyes at Nina as he kept his eyes on Evrin. “Which is why I believe we can come to an arrangement” Kaz suggested.
It was clear Evrin was hesitant, but she still nodded, knowing it was her only hope.
“If you tell me where The Shadow is, I’ll make it so that you can to do as you wish to Judson” Kaz offered. He smirked, “allow you to seek revenge in the way you see fit”.
Evrin looked at everyone in the room as she thought it over.
Kaz could tell by her eyes the moment she’d reached her decision. The words soon came pouring out of her traitorous mouth, much to Kaz’s pleasure. Once he’d gotten the location out of her, he sent Nina out to inform Inej so The Wraith could check on the reliability of the confession.
Kaz turned back to the girl as Evrin tried to stand. He quickly shoved her back down with the blunt end of his cane as he pressed it against her torso at a steep angle.
Even squinted at him in utter confusion. Nonetheless she elected to stay silent upon seeing the look in Kaz’s eyes.
“Where were you?” Kaz asked.
“What?” Evrin hiccuped.
“What did I say about stupid questions?” Kaz groaned, pushing the beak on the Crow’s head of his cane into her sternum. “Where were you?” He repeated.
“When we captured The Shadow?” Evrin asked quietly.
Kaz only tilted his head slightly as he waited.
“I, umm…” Evrin stumbled. She knew better than to lie, but perhaps she could somehow evade the question. Unfortunately for her Kaz knew better.
Kaz’s cane swiftly rose in the air before a swooshing sound cut through the silence as he flicked his wrist to the side. He knew Jesper and Nina had watched in silent horror over his action. Yet, Kaz was sickly pleased as his cane forced Evrin’s head to whip aggressively to the right, her skin now bright red.
“You were there” Kaz stated, stepping closer. He lifted her head up sharply with the end of his cane, his piercing gaze burning into her eyes. “You aren’t just Judson’s girlfriend” Kaz stated.
Nina and Jesper exchanged a confused look behind his back. Whatever was going on, there hadn’t been informed of.
“You were there, you helped drug her” Kaz said, his voice scarily empty despite the burning rage in his eyes. His fingers hooked into his pocket as he withdrew a blade from his coat. Kaz didn’t spare a second thought before he plunged the blade into the girl’s bad arm; knowing it now had enough sensation in it -thanks to Nina- for it to hurt.
It was a cheap shot, but one he thought she should be used to; after all there was a reason everyone tried to go for his bad leg. Evrin didn’t seem to have learned her lesson, or else she was too privileged to have experienced such assaults. Otherwise she would’ve seen it coming but the disgust and shock in her eyes showed that to not be the case.
Kaz’s anger grew as he recalled how Evrin hadn’t spared y/n such a privilege. His blade was curved at the tip and he allowed it to sink into her arm enough to grip the muscles inside before he tilted the hook backwards and pulled it out. “You call yourself svyatoy, the holy, or Saint” Kaz hissed. “Consider this to be my mercy, if you must. But it’s merely because I don’t break my deals” He defended as he stepped back.
“Since you believe in the Saints and an afterlife, you can get your revenge on Judson there” Kaz tsked, walking towards his sharpshooter.
“He’s dead?!” Evrin asked.
Kaz grabbed one of Jesper’s guns directly from his hand. He spared a small glance over his shoulder at Evrin, “he will be”.
Evrin wasn’t given the chance to speak. Instead, the girl’s response was cut short by the echo of Jesper’s gun just as Kaz faced forward again. “Let’s go” he stated casually.
Nina signaled for Wylan to drop his post guarding the back door as Jesper and her followed after Kaz. They all shared a knowing look. They should’ve known Dirtyhands always had more to the plan than they’d ever know in advance.
“Kaz, we want to help her too” Wylan complained over them having been left in the dark as to who Evrin was.
“Yeah, why keep us in the dark?” Nina groaned, grabbing Matthias’s hand.
Kaz silently shook his head as they trudged on, headed in the direction of where Evrin had disclosed.
If it was the wrong direction, Inej would be able to find them easily and redirect them along the way.
“I will not allow this to go awry” was all Kaz said, his tone clipped.
“Awry, as in killing our source of intel?” Wylan hissed.
“The girl’s dead?” Matthias asked.
“She’s the one who drugged y/n” Nina whispered to Matthias in explanation.
“Kaz didn’t need her intel,” Jesper suggested. “Did you?” He asked Kaz rhetorically. Kaz gave him a look that made Jesper grin with pride over having cracked the mystery that was Kaz’s actions.
“I don’t follow” Nina complained.
“I knew she was involved,” Kaz groaned. He wanted them to shut up so he could focus on the next step. If explaining his actions this one was what it took, fine.
“Okay…” Wylan trailed off.
“She was always going to be killed” Nina realized and Kaz nodded briefly in response.
“She got off easy, actually,” Jesper commented. Kaz shot him a glare, “she’s not my main target. I don’t have time to waste on her. We got what we needed”.
“And if she hadn’t answered?” Matthias questioned.
“She was going to” Kaz stated simply.
Matthias initially heard the response as egotistical. But as he saw the look in Kaz’s eyes that he’d had in the office days before and realized Kaz was right. Kaz would’ve gotten the information from the girl one way or another. Kaz just managed to work it out so it was obtained quickly. Matthias had no doubt Kaz would’ve loved to spend more time exacting revenge on Evrin.
But Matthias knew that the one thing, the only thing, that could make Kaz completely change his goals, got in the way of exacting revenge against Evrin; y/n. Matthias realized Kaz had chosen the chance to limit the time of y/N’s captivity -and likely related torture- over the chance for more revenge.
Kaz Brekker was truly in charge of Dirtyhands when it came to this heist thus far. Yet, anyone could tell Kaz had no problem utilizing the skills he’d formed as Dirtyhands to reach his goal.
Which was good, because during the several days it had taken for him and his Crows to get this far, y/n had been through hell.
Tumblr media
The rebel group has tried every tactic they could think of. And it was all clearly written on her body now. The wound on y/n’s leg was surely infected by now, as it hadn’t been properly cleaned or closed. Her face and torso had bruises from the far too many punches and kicks they’d been subjected to. Saints, the group had even forced y/n’s head under a bucket of ice water until she passed out.
Y/n couldn’t recall exactly when she realized it, but she’d come to conclude that the group wasn’t truly trying to extract information from her. She sensed they’d enjoy the opportunity to do so should it come, but their clear intention was more so on her torture. They were even bold enough to try and inflict psychological harm on her. It might have worked had the attacks not been directed at Kaz.
Judson and his crew kept claiming Kaz wasn’t coming. And, given it had been at least five days since she’d awoken, perhaps y/n was truly delusional in her steady optimism that they were wrong. But, she knew if she caved in and allowed herself to accept that possibility it would be over. And despite how tired she was, y/n refused to give in, even if it meant her torture would stop. Y/n knew how to stay alive, and right now the hope that Kaz was on his way to her was what kept her fighting to stay alive.
That remained true even as y/n hung at an uncomfortable angle. Her ankles shackled to a long chain connected to the wall as her wrists were bound and schackled to the ceiling. Y/n’s body had long since given out despite her mind’s best protests and she was now dangling from the ceiling, the metal restraints being the only thing holding her up. Her wrists were beyond sore, having been rubbed raw. They’d even started bleeding from the friction and the pressure of her body begging to give into gravity.
Y/n only ever got brief relief when they’d lower her arms from the lock above so she could eat the scraps of they’d feed her to keep her alive for more torture. They were always wary of it, as technically it meant a better chance at her escaping. Not that it mattered. Even if she’d somehow been able to manage to stay standing and get out of the shackles that kept her hands above her head (or stand up while lowered from above to eat) the long chain at her ankle kept her tethered to the wall so she couldn’t go further than a few feet from her current spot.
Tumblr media
Inej found the crows quickly and Kaz knew from the look in her eyes that she’d found y/n’s location. He felt a small squeeze in his heart before it sped up and he had to take shorter breaths. He was so close. If he handled the bext steps correctly y/n would be home, safe, with him. Kaz had to let go and let Dirtyhands take control. Y/n needed Dirtyhands to rescue her. Kaz could return after she was safe to try and console her.
Kaz’s eyes darkened as he turned to his group. “You know the rules. You know the plan. Any deviation from it and you’re done for” He warned as he turned around and began speed walking limping to the place Inej had come from. Kaz was slightly impressed Inej had listened to his order for her to not intervene upon seeing y/n should she have been there. Kaz couldn’t trust anyone else to handle this. He could handle it on his own if need be. He didn’t mind help from his Crows. But, he refused to risk putting the whole outcome in their hands. Dirtyhands had a plan and he wasn’t going to let anyone or anything get in the way of that.
“Kaz,” Inej whispered against the wind beating into their faces as they marched. “It’s bad” she told him, “it’s really bad”. Inej watched as Kaz’s jaw tightened and his pace somehow quickened. She hadn’t tried to handle it herself, there were far too many people involved for her alone. So she obeyed Kaz’s orders despite the guilt of leaving y/n behind for a bit. Inej’s guilt was fixed by the mercilessly determined and vengeful eyes of the man beside her. There was no doubt in her mind that Kaz was the best person to go in and get y/n out. They just had to get there quick enough.

my older sister is just watching s4 for the first time when her toddler is put to bed. total GA, not a queer audience member, didn't catch up with anything prior to s4 but remembers enough to understand what's going on.
here are her thoughts before she embarks on the final ep!
she's a massive argyle fan - the way he is just making pizza when they're prepping to fight a demon haha
she's 'scared to watch' the finale: "I am scared of the horrible basketball twat to ruin their plan. Hate him"
"I also now feel like I need to rewatch seasons 1 and 2"
"Also. I know this is probably hella unpopular opinion but I really dislike Millie Bobby brown. She’s not a bad actress at all though"
"I love will"
I'll include our exact convo about this:
Sis: Will is in love with Mike right? It’s so adorable and heartbreaking
me: I KNOW. you wouldnt believe how many people didnt pick up on that and still think will is in love with eleven like wtf
sis: WHAT. no way
me: they’re like ‘there werent gay people in the 80s’
sis: omg stop
then she started talking about the hella other things going on. "There’s actually no characters I don’t like apart from the ones you’re supposed to not like." she said there's so many 'bad dads', she HATES papa lmao ('he's so desperate and cringe. "Approve of me even tho I treat you like shit!")
she started by watching while she works in her studio so probs missed all the mike clues, but she's fully focussed now for the finale, and it sounds like she'll be more than thrilled to find byler is requited as she adores will!
i'll update her thoughts post-finale when they come in :) let's see if she picks up on it!
I absolutely love knowing people’s thoughts when they watch ST for the first time. 😃
I think the majority of people who have paid some attention figured out fairly easily that Will is gay and that he loves Mike! My partner figure out he was gay from the very beginning. But with Mike… I tried to make them guess why Mike couldn’t love El and it took a while but finally they guessed correctly. Lol
When it comes to Mike, the clues are there but El is covering them up so to speak. The mere fact that he has a girlfriend is making most people assume that he’s straight. Especially because El is such a focus in the show.
I remember for me as a GA, the thought of Will/Mike was always somewhat of a possibility in my head- just because they are so emotionally intimate. Even though I didn’t know if the writers were going that direction, I definitely never ruled it out.
Overall, I think most of the GA will be satisfied with Will/Mike, especially if it’s all explained explicitly enough for them!
Thanks for the ask!
