Glamtober - Day 14: Ranged

Lots of cool ranged glams to choose from, but ultimately decided to show off one of my older favorites~ Pretty sure I originally made this one for Yusui (that top hugs male au ra waists so nicely), but it looks very nice and in-character for Einn too.

So Kris as we know them is a pretty quiet, deadpan and stoic person. It’s one of their main identifying features that the game constantly draws attention to via both comedic and serious moments.

But like with everything we think we know about Kris, it is always worthwhile to consider how much of their behavior is natural or real, and how much of it is a result of our influence as a possessing entity, or simply colored by our biased and partial look into their life.

First things first, it’s important to remember Kris isn’t quite as quiet as they might seem to us, because we’re incapable of hearing them talk. We can only really gleam when they said something from the reactions of the other characters around them. So there’s plenty of times we can’t quite judge how much Kris was actually talking.

And that also extends to their emotional reactions to some degree there are plenty of times times where other characters note how Kris is smiling, laughing, shouting, looking scared or having another kind of reaction that is not conveyed by their still and stoic Sprite.

The thing about not being able to hear Kris is actually very curious, cause it’s also consistent with the Humans of ‘Undertale’. Frisk and Chara’s voices were also imperceptible to us, only gleaned from the reactions of the other characters. Even when it comes to a recording of Chara’s voice.

The only exception is our little ‘conversation’ with Murder-Route Chara, but this is when they became something not-quite-fully-human beyond our control and it still lacked voice-bleeps for the text, which might indicate that we’re still not quite able to hear them.

So… not being able to hear a character’s dialogue might be a side-effect of possession/sharing a body (since one could say we’re kinda controlling both Frisk and Chara throughout Undertale)…. Or it might be a feature of Humans in the Toby Fox Multiverse? That their voices are imperceptible to Unkillable Body-Snatching Time Gods? After all, we can’t hear Kris even when we’re outside their body.

Whatever it is, their lack of visible emotional reactions might be connected to it as well. Although, it is a lot less… absolute. While we never hear (read?) their voice, there are a few times where Kris’ sprites do have facial expressions and body language that clearly convey an Emotion. And there seem to be more and more of them in later Chapters.

Maybe these are just moments that are… so extremely expressive that they shine through the general obscuring mask of stoic-ness that usually hides Kris’ expressions from us? Are the expressions that are imperceptible to us just too subtle to show up on their Sprite? Or is it because these actions were technically taken totally independent of our possession?

...But also, despite it being sometimes hard to determine how much Kris is really talking and how expressive they seem to the characters in-universe, there are a few indications that they are seen as a generally quiet and stoic person from the other characters' perspective as well. Even if it’s not as exaggerated as it seems to us.

And if you combine that with the few more-expressive Sprites they have, and how these only occur as part of actions Kris takes of their own will, and they’re more frequent in recent Chapters as Kris’ independence from us is growing… it’s not unreasonable to assume their laconic deadpan-ness is purely a result of our influence, and without us they’d be a lot more emotional and expressive.

But… hmmm… the thing is that others do notice that Kris is kinda acting Out-Of-Character, but never really point out their quietness or lack of expressiveness as the reason for it. If anything, the SOUL’s possession of Kris makes them come off as uncharacteristically social and talkative.

Folks who have known Kris for their entire life (like Noelle), do seem to characterize them as a quiet person who does not show their emotions easily. The "Newest Girl Girl" shows us pre-Chapter-One Kris barely reacting to Susie's bullying, annoying her by not speaking before demolishing her with just a well-placed softly-said word and both it and the other Noelle Blog Post about Kris repeat the sentiment that 'who can tell what Kris is thinking'.

Most notably, I think, is how Weird Route Noelle describes Kris’ Real Voice (specifically contrasted against the SOUL’s ‘voice'), as ‘deadpan and mumbly’ - and that’s the thing that makes it feel real and familiar and authentically Kris for her. The SOUL’s voice was weird and unnatural because it wasn’t deadpan enough to be the Real Kris.

Also, in the Normal Route, when Noelle is trying to talk to Susie about Kris acting odd, which Susie doesn’t understand cause she hasn’t known the pre-possession Kris all that well, we have this exchange…

The implication, especially paired with Noelle’s Weird Route dialogue, is that ‘yelling’ is the default for the SOUL’s voice, while mumbling is generally for when Kris is saying things of their own volition, because deadpan mumbling is the honest expression of Kris' free will.

All of this does seem to paint a picture of Kris as a generally withdrawn and quiet sort of person with an air of Edgy Teen Apathy to them, albeit when they do allow themself to show their feelings openly, they can be very expressive and emotional. It’s just a rare occurrence even without the whole possession problem.

But… the complicating factor about that interpretation is Tenna. And specifically his secret bonus dialogue in the second Board of the Sword Route.

Which adds a lot of context to some his other dialogue aimed at Kris and his general anxiety about whatever they’re enjoying his games.

I said before that most characters talking about Kris acting ‘weird’ generally will not talk about their stoicism, but Tenna is the exception to that. He is extremely troubled by his inability to make Kris ‘laugh and cry’, seeing it as a failure on his part. If his Games were truly fun and engaging, Kris would've been more reactive.

This conversation with Susie especially, feels very much like a mirror of Susie and Noelle’s conversation in Chapter 4.

Someone who has known Kris since childhood is bothered by their behavior, while Susie, who has only really gotten to know Kris while they’re under our control, can’t understand what the problem is cause that’s just what seems normal to her with Kris.

Tenna thinks Kris should have a more emotional responses to their show, and that their stoicism demonstrates that they’re just not having fun. For Susie, Kris is just kind of emotionally withdrawn by default and has no reason to assume that they’re not enjoying themself just because they’re not expressing it as openly as she or Ralsei do.

So that makes me think, like… if Kris’ deadpan reactions are normal for Noelle but concerning for Tenna, that might still be a relatively recent development?

Well, if that's so, then Kris’ lack of expressiveness might still be related to their peculiar situation with the SOUL, and the reason why no one’s saying that they’ve only gotten really unresponsive recently is that….

Something has been going on long before we came in.

Or it could be just something totally mundane. Maybe they just became withdrawn and kinda emotionally-numb due to their parents’ divorce, or Asriel moving to college, or Dess’ disappearance or the mental exhaustion of following Evil Phone Voice's instructions all the time or some sort of combination of these factors? So for anyone who sees Kris every day and saw them gradually close themself off to the world, that is their normal behavior now… but Tenna still thinks of them as the happier and more expressive child who used to watch him regularly.

Or maybe this is some sort of a mix of the two options?

Now that I think about it, it’s ironic that in Twin Runes (and also a bit in "Standard" Undertale), even though UT!Toriel and UT!Asgore believe their children are dead, both of them are actually "alive" in some way. However, for one reason or another, they can’t (or won’t) reunite with them.

Chara has become a Determination ghost (I think that’s what it’s called), visible only to Kris, Frisk, and perhaps anyone with a red soul. Even though they now have a physical form in the Dark World, it seems implied that they can’t maintain this form in the Light World. Also, I doubt UT!Toriel or UT!Asgore would visit the Dark World anytime soon—unless something unusual happens (like Sans inviting Toriel, or Undyne involving Asgore). And even if they did, I don’t think Chara would appreciate it, considering that UT!Toriel tried to "replace" them with the first human child they came across (seven times, no less).

Asriel, on the other hand, became an emotionless and completely insane flower, to the point of killing his own father (though I doubt he even saw him as his father anymore by the time of Undertale’s events). Even in the True Pacifist Route’s ending, when Frisk meets Asriel after the battle, he asks them not to tell his parents that he’s actually Flowey, further highlighting the emotional distance he now has from them.

Nobody has even once questioned why Gerson's dust+hammer was in a fucking drawer in the church, when its fucking supposed to be in the graveyard. In the ground🪦

years ago, when i first saw this scene, i knew we were gonna see Gerson again. I read this scene as Alvin being anxious about digging up his father's remains an hucking 'em into a dark world. I actually had this whole other theory back then about the Boom family being behind everything, but that was then, this is now

what i fucking want to know is: did Gerson leave instructions to his son to dig up his remains and leave them in a certain part of the church at a certain date? Did Gerson pull a back to the future part two and have a mail courier deliver a letter at a certain date to Alvin with exact instructions?

So unless Alvin is up to somthin stanky all by himself, Gerson has been plotting to be involved with the prophecy since long before he died. After all, he's also a historian, he might have found somthing really important in his research because-

We know by now that Ralsei gave us the "Kidz Bop" version of the prophecy, just like he did with Raise Up Your Bat, but who's to say that the windows we saw in the church are the whole story either? All that is stuff the dark world made from the holy books in the church. Gerson might have found somthing big before he died, and he knew he had to keep his cards close to his chest and not let anyone know, not even his son (unless Alvin actually is secretly in on it too but pretending to be clueless)

Gerson figured he wouldn't live long enough to get involved so he set everything up in advance and...

Things work differently in the dark world and theres just one thing i can't stop wondering:

now am i implying that Alvin pretended to be his own father? YES, but thats just one spin on this theory, cos this could go a few ways:

🐢ONE: Alvin carried out Gerson's last request to move his remains to where Susie and Kris find them in the church. Alvin has no idea why but does so out of love and respect for his father

🐢TWO: Alvin carried out the last request because he was in on it, and placed the dusty hammer where instructed because he and his father knew what was coming before his father's death

🐢THREE: Alvin put on a big show for us out in the graveyard in chapter two, muttering about the hammer loudly as we steered Kris towards the exit. Then he moved the hammer to another location and created a fake replica to hide in the church, fake dust and all. Then put on some makeup, his father's old clothing, some prop dentures and a cover over the top of his shell that looks identical to the one his father had in life

Why all that for number three? Well it would certainly be convenient if you wanted to get close to the heros, but wanted to make sure that anyone (Us/Kris/The Knight/Carole/Gaster???) watching would think "oh fuck that Gerson guy could be a problem with the plan (whatever it is) but thank god he's dead and can't be brought back easily! After all, he didn't come back when Susie made a dark world!" but then at a critical future moment, PSYCH!!! HE'S FUCKING ALVIN, THE BAD ASS MINISTER WHO WAS SECRETLY TRAINED BY HIS BAD ASS FATHER HIS WHOLE LIFE

Alvin put on this whole show so that the ominous they would be sure that Gerson was super dead and not going to throw a spanner in the plan (watever dat is) but oh. oh no. uh oh.

GERSON WAS NEVER DEAD. HE FAKED THE WHOLE THING, LAID LOW FOR YEARS, ALVIN WENT THROUGH ALL THE MOTIONS BUT HE WAS IN ON IT THE WHOLE TIME and now ya'll are boner'd

yeah this is getting into fanfic territory but it all feels plausible, because Gerson is a smart and crafty bastard. Remember how ready for us he was in Undertale?

Remember his dialog in the genocide route?

he fucking knew that he was untouchable as a store vendor, some fucking how he'd gained some secret knowledge of his reality, of being a video game character

so whats to say that in Deltarune, what we just experienced with Gerson in the dark world isn't him using knowledge of the game's mechanics to his benefit again? It could be as simple as deceiving us, the player, or it could be that as a darkener he'll have far more power to change things then we could have ever imagined...

Killer kitty doodle because I'd rather plunge myself into a volcano than finish any of my hundreds of wips + very long and insane Killer ramble because I love this stupid guy

Ramble below, I warn you it's not pretty.

I hate how people write Killer off as a one note character, with his only personality trait being "chaotic murder gremlin", or even worse "Nightmare simp". Ima state now I have a high dislike for Nightkiller, it completely ignores not only Nightmares character as a whole but reduces Killer to a mindless servant. Which he kinda is, but that's not all he is. He is so so interesting and I mourn the fact that I don't see a lot of people explore past a surface level.

In Ground Zero he has more of a mind for himself, though he still wouldn't ever outright disobey Nightmare. Both out of fear and the fact that he really has no other choice, he had nowhere else to go. He doesn't really have a relationship with the other mercenaries, as he is better at solo missions due to how blindly violent he can get at times. Strike serves as an outside perspective, constantly questioning Nightmares authority and Killer's loyalty to him. Killer begins to doubt how much power Nightmare actually has, and how much power he's simply just been giving him in an effort to fill the empty hole of loneliness in his soul.

Chara works more as a voice in his head, they aren't actually visible which I think would really contribute to Killers growing insanity as he begins to doubt if Chara even exists at all. Whose voice was he really listening to when he killed all those people. Chara's voice is less audible at Stage 1 and more audible as the stages progress. Chara is in some part, a part of him. Since their souls literally merged, I thought it would be neat if they like, literally merged together too. But like, in a mental way. Chara is now permanently attached to Killer whether he likes it or not. Rarely is there ever silence in his mind with them around, but he's gotten used to it at this point.

Strike and Killers relationship is more reluctant companions, they love to hate each other. But really, they need each other. Strike relies on Killer to do well, anything. And Killer relies on Strike to ground him and sometimes knock some sense into him when he gets too lost in his mind. Strike is really the first actual friend he's had after everything went down in his universe. Killer doesn't know why he's so intent on helping Strike, perhaps for the possible chance of fighting the guardians again, or maybe a small part of him wants to do the right thing. Letting Strike stay in the castle was also Killers first act of disobedience in a looooooooong while, Nightmare did not like this guy at all. But he managed to find a way to make it work, one way or another.

He and Dream have this weird frenemy relationship. Dream wants to help Killer, but Killer doesn't trust him for a second. Cautious of his true intentions. He does enjoy fighting with the guardian, though he's a little disappointed at how much Dream holds back against him.

He and Bird have insane beef, they HAAATE each other. They love to tease each other when fighting, which only gets them both equally pissed off. Birds hatred comes from protectiveness of Dream, and Killers hatred comes from envy. Bird symbolizes everything Killer is not; he has true freedom. Not only because of his ability to fly, but because he isn't chained to Dream like Killer is to Nightmare. Although they come from similar backgrounds, they both came out very different. (Would it be crazy to say I kinda ship them in a toxic but works somehow way, I'm thinking raptor could work, as it's another name for birds of prey. But I'll work on it I guess)

Coming back to Striller cause I'm absolutely feral about them. They are purely platonic in canon, though Strike does have some underlying affection for Killer. Killer simply sees Strike as an anchor, something to keep himself from going completely insane. But I think it would be interesting to look at them through a romantic lens maybe, if Strike lived long enough it might have actually worked out.

Back to Killer himself. I'm still trying to better understand his character though my own vision of him. He's flirty, he's aggressive and snarky yes but he can also be callous, calculating and cruel (did not mean to make those all start with c but I ball). He's a very tragic character, I hate him sm guys.

I wanna just ramble about all the characters in my au, Bird will probably be next. Oh boy I have so much to say about him, for a character with literally zero story he is so interesting in my own vision of him guys I swear please. (And I WILL be discussing Goldeneagle in gross detail trust.)

OVERLY ANALYZING YTTD DESIGNS : KANNA KIZUCHI

In today kanna posting i will analyse, comment and improve kanna design, even tho its nearly impossible from how her design is perhaps the closest to yttd perfect design. I have so many things to say about this (brainrot) so lets get moving.

Overview:

Kanna is a petite middle schooler, she wears an uniform somewhat similar to a sailor uniform but there is clear stylistic differences, instead of a white top, she wears an oversized shirt, that is large than her overall body. She wears a short pleated skirt, high knee green socsk and very traditional shoes for a school girl. Compared to other yttd characters her colours are very uniforms, greens blues, teals, and pinks. Considering the averade yttd character colour pallete this is a blessing btw. She has her two signature items the bucket and the screw pins. Her hairstyle is this extremely messy long bob with two strands over her shoulders, her hair covers a lot of her forehead.

Now that if have described it overall lets go piece by piece!

HAIR:

Kanna hair is a very interesting character wise, She has big poofy hair that encompasses her whole skull and face even tho we can see those more jagged pieces, there is a clear rounder softer look to her hair, the way that no hair goes up into this very bob cut. Roundness in a character design often is used to depicts softer kinder characters like kanna. What is also interresting is how shy it makes her look, half of her entire forehead is covered by bangs, actually her entire face surronded by hair. Like she is hidden, like she is covering herself from a world. But the two iconic strands give this idea of a overall fun and carefree personality, with just the bob it could have looked more serious but the strings on a worm make it feel more silly.

Face:

Kanna has a face that only hers has, she has those huges completely round eyes, with a clear lack of nose and extremely small eyebrows, her slight smirk gives again a composed and shy look; Kanna face is mostly eyes, the eyes convery innocence, kinda like a doe. She wears her iconic blue mascara (its kinda funny that her eyelashes are liek blue). What is also very important about kanna eyes is the fact that she is in fact not a green eyed girlie, kanna has teal eyes. I made a post about it a while back that i will link in the comments, kanna eyes are pure teal, while shin is more a sort of turquoise. While true i call greenblings, greenblings but in the end the colour that is associated with them ingame is teal.

UNIFORM:

Kanna wears a sorta of sailor uniform but the specialty about it is that compared to the other school girl, hers is more loose fitting her sleeves are too big for her, her shirt is too and falls too long. It makes it feel more like a sweater than a school shirt, and that is the point. kanna is not a confident person at all, wearing baggy clothes or large clothes is often used to show low confidence in ones appearance, after all she is a teen girl, this is the moment you feel terrible about yourself. The clothes before even meeting her truly shows that she is not confident in her own abilities. And thats is magical chara design. What is also very interesting is the dichotomy of these baggy clothes and the skirt, kinda like kanna is in this inner conflict, the skirt gives off more mature vibes, but the shirt doesnt, kanna is in between being a grown up and a child and that will come back later as a very important part of her design. What i think is aslo super important is -the link between her and shin, we know shin hides himself behind the scarf his clothing the way he stands, bu thats the same for Kanna!!! She is very much similar in that aspect, both are very unconfident persons and its is visible in their designs.

POSTURE AND BODY:

Kanna has this very recognisable pose ingame

not only is it recognizable but also it depicts clearly WHO she is and perhaps her whole arc. Kanna is almost constantly hugging herself, she slowly stops doing so during chapter 2. Kanna is in an overall state of distress the whole game but slowly gains confidence in herself, this is a comforting zone, a kind cage, a way to put yourself a bit further from others, a safe zone. Kanna slolwy gets more and more sprites of her siply standing because now she doesnt need that protection anymore or at least not as much. The second interresting fact is that kanna is HUGGING HERSELF, no ones is here to hug her or help her in the end, she has to stand up FOR HERSELF, to hug yourself, to learn to love yourself ETC ETC.

Secondly, kanna body in my eyes shows everything relating to her as a character, in ytts it is said that kanna wishes she would be grown, because she belives that by being an adult she would be useful and better. This come from a deep and hidden disdain for her own capacities, believing that her flaws come from her being a pathetic child. Kanna is at that age where tons of teen girls wishes to be old and popular and perhaps she wishes the same. 14 is a very tough age but what is tougher is being between two ages. Kanna has breast yes just like a grown up, but she doesn't look like a grown up, she is stuck between two widely different world, adulthood and childhood. In the death game it is very much seen able, kanna is not like gin who is literally baby but she isnt like sara. She is stuck at trying to be reliable but still being a weight on others.

WHAT I WOULD CHANGE:

I have already talked about this but for me for her design to be more coherent the pink tie should be red and the socks white socks with a red stripe, its makes the design more coheive and diminishes the amount of green. Except from that peak design actually

Overall what does kanna design tell us about her, that she is a kind shy introverted girl who lacks self confidence and wishes to be someone else than herself at this point in time. And if any chara design should depict as much info as this then this design is very good

Chapter XX

“heh, didja really think you would be able-“

Frisk tightened their grip on the knife and lunged forward.

Sans was...not dead though? His eyes fluttered open, faintly glowing as he stood motionless. Through his blurred vision, he saw the kid frozen in place, their soul glowing a bright red, gripped by Chara’s ghostly power.

"NOW!"

Sans didn’t waste the opportunity. He summoned every ounce of strength he had left, slamming Frisk into the wall and pinning them with sharp bones. He staggered closer, glaring at the human as they gasped for breath, coughing up blood on the floor. But then—

Frisk struck out with the knife, piercing his side. They pushed themselves up, weak but still determined, a sinister grin spreading across their face. Bleeding heavily, they rummaged through their pack, pulling out the last slice of butterscotch-cinnamon pie. Shoving it into their mouth, their wounds began to heal.

They turned to Sans, who was struggling to keep standing, and let out a dark chuckle.

"Better luck next time, freak~"

With Sans out of the way, Frisk continued their march toward Asgoreks Throne Room.

The skeleton collapsed behind one of the columns in the Judgment Hall, clutching his wound as dust began to spill from him. He felt his form fading, his body deteriorating with every shallow breath. He leaned back against the cold stone, his eyelights dimming.

Chara’s voice shattered the silence.

"No... No no no nO NO NOO! It should’ve worked! I had control of their soul AND reset power! WHY DIDN’T IT WORK?!"

Sans gritted his teeth, trying to push through the pain, but it was too much.

"...it’s... it’s okay, kiddo... this...this was the closest we got to them... guess we’ll try... next time...”

Chara’s form flickered in and out, their panic mounting.

"No! There won’t be a next time! It has to be now or never!"

Despite Chara’s desperate words, Sans closed his eyes, bracing for the inevitable. He was hopeless. Helpless. Dust was already starting to coat his gloves.

Then, through his eyelids, he saw it—a blinding red glow. His eyes snapped open, seeing Chara standing before him, their translucent form trembling like a dying flame, barely holding together. They were gently cupping his soul, the cracks slowly filling up with a red substance.

"c-chara...what are you doing?"

Chara’s voice was soft but steady, though they were visibly falling apart.

"What I should’ve done a long time ago."

Sans tried to reach for them, his voice strained.

"n-no, i-it’s pointless—"

"It’s not. That slice of pie? It was their last healing item... now’s the perfect time to strike."

“b-but didn’t you say i could melt?!”

Chara hesitated, their confidence faltering for the first time.

"I...I don’t know. Technically, too much determination melts monsters... but the thing is... I don’t have a lot. Just enough to stay alive. And maybe... maybe that applies to you too."

Sans shook his head, his voice breaking.

"Chara, don’t! we’ll find another way! i... i don’t wanna lose any more good people—"

Chara’s flickering form floated closer, their expression softening.

"I’m not good. This mess is my fault... since the day me and my brother have died. But now... this is my chance to make things right. To help you fix the trouble I caused."

They paused, their figure dimming until only a faint outline remained.

"H-Hey... Avenge the monsters for me, okay?"

Sans reached out weakly, but it was too late.

“...’course kid...”

With a final flicker of light, Chara disappeared, their remaining determination surging into Sans’s soul. He gasped as the heat burned through him, filling the cracks and coursing through every inch of his body. The pain was unbearable, but as the glow stabilized, he opened his eyes.

And for the first time, Sans was filled with DETERMINATION.

Kind of curious, you know how Mad Mew Mew does the soul Split in her fight how do you interpret it in your au.

Like if Mad Mew Mew use it on Kanako and Asriel, will it temporarily separate Kanako and Clover and with Asriel/ Chara.

Anyway. So Mad Mew Mew. Before explaining how the soul works, let me explain something first. So you guys know how Clover and Chara can see and interact with each other because they are spirits, right? Well, there are another four people who can see them. The Ruins Dummy, Napstablook, Mad Dummy/Mad Mew Mew, and Mettaton, because they are all ghosts too.

But why did none of them acknowledge Chara during Undertale? Well, the Ruins Dummy doesn't talk, Napstablook was feeling awkward, Mad Dummy was too blinded by rage to notice Chara and Mettaton didn't say anything to not reveal that he's a ghost monster in a robot body.

But in my AU, Mad Mew Mew acknowledges Chara in her fight. And she uses her powers to make Chara part of the fight.

How do Mew's powers work? Well, she can use her powers to turn spirits like Chara and Clover, who are invisible spirits, into ghosts like Napstablook. that can be seen and touched by anyone. But since Clover and Chara are fused with Kanako and Asriel, respectively, there's a side effect where a small "chain" connects them, and if Clover and Chara get hurt, Kanako and Asriel will also get hurt, and vice versa. How this "chain" works is that it gives some of the body energy to the spirits to make them a little more physical. at least enough to make them visible and touchable to normal people.

The thing is that normally there's a limit to how far Chara and Clover can get from Asriel and Kanako. But with Mew's powers, that limit is redused because of the "chain".

So, in short, They don't get separated. They actually get forced to stay closer, and if one gets hurt, the other also gets hurt. But because of Mew's powers, Clover and Chara can be seen by other people rather than just the people that they are fused with and other ghosts, and they can be touched by other people that aren't ghosts.

As long as Mew is using her powers. Because Mew has a life of her own, that means that she can't be doing this 24/7. The woman needs to do her live streams.

Getting ready for the big day, with help from Chara cause I feel like I've been a bit too mean to them this week. Post pacifist is literally my Chara redemption timeline after all!

It's fun to imagine Flowey having like a big ol humanoid (goat monsteroid?) plant golem form for things like this, so he can dress up too!

Also, it's Halloween! I have this headcanon that during Halloween, any ghosts or lingering spirits become like... visible and audible and free to move! This means Chara can properly attend, neither having to hang over Frisk's shoulder constantly or to skip their brother's wedding entirely!

...And Gaster also gets to attend, being the one member of the skelefam Frisk only gets to see once a year

Kunikida’s ideal type is quite the list. Although, ever since you appeared in his life, that was thrown out the window. He loves you, did you know that?

To be dating the Kunikida Doppo of the Armed Detective Agency must be a pretty thrilling thing! He’s idealistic, smart, handsome, and truly a piece of art.

But, that means he gets busy quite often. Even on days where he has no case to solve, he still shows up to work. As for you, whether or not you have work too doesn’t change the fact you’ll always come home sooner than him.

Sure, when he comes home, he’ll shower you in love, but is it really enough to make up for the times he’s left you feeling lonely? If you guys have any dates, he’ll always attend them, but you can’t keep using the excuse of having a date with him to get his attention away from work, right?

You’ll come home to a house, empty. Neat and clean, yet it’s missing something... Something which gives it the warm feeling of home. You know exactly what it’s missing, but you can’t do much about it. Other than calling him or sending him a message indicating you miss him, you wouldn’t hear the bell ring.

You tried talking to him about how you felt, but he was always busy. Even if you guys managed to start the topic, Dazai would appear, or maybe some other ADA member, and instantly would require his assistance. Was he really yours? You never let your sadness show.

As the days pass by, your anniversary with him crawls closer and closer. After a feeling of much loneliness, you had forgotten about that. You had forgotten your anniversary was soon, and you didn’t do anything about it.

...

The alarm rings, 6AM. The day has begun, the sun has risen, and so shall you and Kunikida. Today, Kunikida’s off from work. A day just for yourselves! Although, by this point, you still have a hidden feeling of loneliness...

You yawn, staying in bed a little more as Kunikida gets up to turn the alarm off. He stretches a little before he glances over to you, seeing you still laying down. He nudges you gently. You groan in response and he simply smiles, scooping you up in his arms and taking you to the bathroom with him. Half awake, you wonder what the hell is this guy doing?

Kunikida puts the stopper on the drain in the bathtub and fills it with water. As you subconsciously brush your teeth, oblivious to what hes doing, he prepares the entire bath and towels. Afterwards, he brushes his teeth alongside you and you stare at him mindlessly. “Are you going to take a bath?” you ask. “We are.” he replies.

Confused, you don’t really mind. You undress and wrap a towl around yourself, so does Kunikida. You won’t deny this is a little odd to you, but you also won’t deny that you missed having baths with Kunikida. So, I guess it’s a win in the end?

When you two get in the bath, Kunikida calls you closer to him. He sits on the edge of the bathtub and you sit in-between his legs, hearing the click of a shampoo bottle as he starts to massage the shampoo into your head.

It was a heavenly experience. Getting your hair shampooed by your one and only lover, and the morning atmosphere making it seem much more pure and romantic. The light seeping in through the bathroom windows (that aren’t visible to look through!), the feeling of warm water on your skin, and the silence. Leaving you to only hear the sounds of shampoo getting gently massaged into your hair.

You close your eyes, embracing the feeling. Still, what led him to doing something like this for you today? You couldn’t get that question out of your mind. It was stuck in there, alongside the small feelings of doubt that were currently being restrained.

Kunikida finishes putting the shampoo in your hair. Now, it’s your turn to shampoo his hair. You both get up and swap places, grabbing Kunikida’s shampoo bottle before he refuses. “Use yours instead” He says, giving you your own shampoo bottle. You look at him, a bit bewildered. “Won’t it ruin your hair?” you question, but he shakes his head in disapproval. “I checked the ingredients used, it has nothing that could damage my hair. The shampoo you use is quite diverse!” He crushes down your worries. Without hesitance, you put the shampoo in your hands and start massaging his head.

This way was nice too. The sun made Kunikida’s hair seem much more golden than it already was. It was nice, you liked this. You liked having cute domestic moments with Kunikida like this.

As time passed by and your bath with Kunikida comes to an unfortunate end, you check your phone notifications, two notifications from your calender, and one of them is a striking shock. Today is your part-time job interview! The interview is at 7:30AM, and you came out of the bath with Kunikida at... 7AM?! An entire hour!

“Shit, I forgot my part-time job interview is today...” you mutter. It catches Kunikidas ears and his gaze immediately turns to you, panicked. “You have an interview?!?!” he instantly started looking through your clothes to find your suit.

As you dumbfounding watched Kunikida get your entire outfit ironed, “What time is your interview??” he asks, rushing breakfast for you. He can have breakfast after you leave. “7:30...” you start changing into your suit and his jaw drops.

Immediately after you’ve put on your suit, he fixes your hair for you, gives you breakfast and lends you his car keys. “Take my car, what time will you be back?” He sits beside you, bowling on your coffee slightly to cool it down. “By 4pm maybe, I need to get groceries too” you finish your breakfast as fast as you could, choking on it slightly but being saved by Kunikida handing you the cooled down coffee.

The feeling was still hot enough to burn your throat slightly, and as Kunikida noted the time you’d be back, you put your shoes on and ran out the door. Before, you’d normally leave with just saying “bye” but this time, Kunikida kissed your cheek and waved you goodbye. You were surprised and confused. Seriously, what is up with him today?! No complaints on your end, you happily took the kiss and returned it, making Kunikida a little flustered. You both waved goodbye to each other and you left for your interview.

...

You came home a little earlier than intended. Unloading the groceries from the trunk of your car, you wondered if you flunked it or not. You really couldn’t tell! They were so nonchalant!!

Groceries in your hands, you used your elbow to open the door, you knew it’d be unlocked because Kunikida was home. You kicked the door open, and before you could say you’re back, you were completely off guard by the balloons and decorations.

Your year anniversary. Kunikida hadn’t forgotten. In fact, the entire day, the reason he did everything, was to make you feel special. You felt like shit that you had forgotten, considering the presents on the table. Kunikida appeared. “I thought you were coming home later?! It’s 3:23!” He was surprised. But you were more surprised.

You didn’t get Kunikida a gift, but he got you one. “Happy anniversary.” Your heart swelled up. “You seemed more sad recently, and I remembered just yesterday why.” He knew? He knows? “I hadn’t been the best lover. In fact, my attention was entirely away from you and focused on work.” He knows. He’s apologizing? “You are my first priority, you always will be.” His voice was so sincere and gentle. Oh, how he made your heart ache more. “I am yours after all, I should take care of you more.” There, you couldn’t resist dropping your groceries gently onto the couch and hugging him. You hugged him tight.

He said nothing, hugging you back. “I love you, happy anniversary” he whispered, his voice was honest and tender. You weren’t going to forgive him so easily, but you gave in for now.

You both celebrated your anniversary together, the sun about to set, so you both head out. You had dinner on a night beach, the stars visible above your heads as you two talked through the night. Taking a walk afterwards together in a park nearby, heading home and simply spending time together. Time passed by so quickly, you both were up the entire night talking and staying by each others side. The atmosphere, just as you had once dreamt of was a reality... You felt Kunikida falling asleep in your arms. Gosh, he really was yours! You plant a kiss on his head, whispering “Goodnight.” The moon reflects his love for you, and your love for him in the peaceful night.

Ikemen Prince Envelopes

I have a problem, and apparently it is trying to make the envelopes from these games!

No one asked for this, as per usual this was born out of my want of pritning out my fave letters from the games and keeping them around. I thought for the upcoming holiday, this would be fun to have :) There are envelopes for all 13 charas!

So there are two sets of envelopes this time, with a color taken from the Ikemen Prince japanese website for the emblem along with just a black version. Two different styles as well! One being a box flap that I enjoyed a lot, and another being one as close to the game's envelope style as I could manage! In general, and honesty, these would not exist without @fairy-marshmallow. She helped me find a pattern that was super close to the in-game one!

Please keep in mind that there may be minor mistakes! More details are below the cut (as well as links to my previous ikevamp ones).

Alright! So this one will be a bit different than the other envelopes, as they're a different style. If we look closely at the in-game ones, we can see they don't have the side flaps visible, so that means they're hidden by an enlongated bottom flap. So when you print them out, you're gonna fold is like this before gluing the bottom flap down.

I recommend using cardstock for these, but that's primarily a personal preference since cardstock does not crumple as easy (but can cause issues folding if you're not careful).

You could use a wax seal on these, but it may cover the emblem a bit when you do.

The top flap is not as big as the in-game one, and, well, that's because it wouldn't fit all on one page without making the envelope itself Very Small. So I had to sacrifice some length to get this to work.

I will admit that I spent a year on and off making these, and there is a minor mistake of the bottom flap maybe being a bit too long.... it may just need to be shaved down a little. Sorry for not fixing it, but I went apeshit trying to get it long enough :') Its just by a few hairs.

Gilbert, Silvio, and Keith have envelopes with this- and I understand that this is clearly a Rhodolite themed envelope. However, they Do stay in the rose palace there so,,, we can pretend they just use what is available and stamp on their emblem when needed (or use a wax seal of it but yaknow,,,,)

If I'm able to ever get a clear image of the Rhodolite crest, as well as the Obsidian, Jade, and Benitoite(?) crest, I'd love to try to make themed envelopes for that separately, but that would depend on how much folks enjoy these and...creativity limits....I know Obsidian would use an all black envelope but that would murder our printers.

I wanted to try and make Ikevil envelopes eventually but :') apparently those are all black, or a very dark grey. So do not count on me doing so. My printer wheezes already, that would end it.

I wanted to create a version of Frara/Squeezo in your style (which I really like) along with a possible form for the Dark World. I’ve made three versions of the same drawing, but now I don’t know which one to choose, so I’d love your opinion or advice as an artist. (I draw on physical paper because it’s easier for me that way.)

There’s not much to say about the "Light World" forms; I simply took the sprite of Frara/Squeezo and adapted it into a drawing. There are a few differences, but I’ll briefly mention them:

The color of the fringe changes: in the first version, it’s rainbow-colored because I thought it looked nice; in the second, it’s gray as a sort of contrast to the first one; and finally, in the third, it’s red, like the classic fringe of Kris and Frisk.

The color of the pants and socks, some details of the sweater, and the hairstyle also change. Lastly, in the third version, there’s a visible eye (to avoid making it look too much like Kris) and a kind of pseudo-nose (which I’m not sure came out well).

The Dark World forms are more interesting:

In the first version, I was inspired by a simple knight, and I used all the colors I had available, thinking it would look good that way. The skin is gray to resemble a doppelgänger in fantasy games (since Frara/Squeezo is a kind of "double" of Frisk/Chara).

The second version, on the other hand, is inspired by a dark wizard (it seemed cool), with white and gray hair. The cape resembles Chara’s shirt as a sort of parallel, since Frisk has a cape with colors similar to Kris’s shirt, and vice versa.

The third version is inspired by this image:

In this version, I added a weapon, as I realized I hadn’t included one in the previous versions. If you’re wondering why I chose an umbrella as the weapon, it’s because I found this fan art during my research:

I thought it was a cute idea. Finally, I added a few minor details.

Bonus: If you’re wondering why there are red cross-outs on the drawings and why I scribbled on them, it’s because I didn’t want to ruin the drawing.

I tried to come up with a made-up name for Frara/Squeezo. In the first version, he was called John (literally the first name that came to mind...). In the second version, I called him Ulan (because it was the first name that started with “U” that came to mind. Why the "U"? Well, take the first letters of the names Frisk, Chara, and Kris, put them together, and you’ll figure it out (; ). Finally, in the third version, I gave up and still haven’t decided on a name for him...

P.S.: I’m sorry for writing such a long text, but these drawings are very close to my heart, and I wanted to specify every single detail.

You know what? Even though they depicted Aemond as an absolute cartoonish villain, I'm actually on his side because no matter how hard they try to ruin him (and are succeeding) the fact is that he's the only one who actually wants to fight. He is basically everything that's left of TG. Also, that scene on the balcony with Helaena made me feel bad for him because I think he genuinely cares about her, sees her value and acknowledges their bond (come with me to Harrenhal, help me destroy Daemon's army) . And it looked like he had a tear in the eye? It's much more than manipulation, there is something deep age genuine between them. I'm just sad they didn't have more scenes together and that they used Helaena only to make him look worse. The actors at least tried to save something of all that mess so there's that. Also, I really hate how the fans, especially TG fans, are justifying Aegon and even Alicent to some extent, but Aemond is to blame for everything?! How about no? Moreover, I hate what they did to Aegond in the Rook's Rest, but the thing is, even with Aegon and Sunfyre, the greens would be in a great disadvantage (we saw that Sunfyre is no match for Meleys, let alone vermithor, silverwing or caraxes, and Aegon is not much of a fighter either) so they would still need Dreamfyre and Helaena. That's why his request isn't about him being a crazy monster trying to force Helaena to fight (also, would people stop infantilize her), not is actually reasonable.

I won't talk about Daemon's vision and his and Rhaenyra's scene because it's stupid and corny af, but I must say that what deeply pains me is Alicent's character assassination. They literally made her betray her side twice (in ep 3 and now,) coz she practically agrees to Aemond's (and Aegon's) death and promises to open the city gates?? . And for some reason a big chunk of TG think that her actions are more justifiable than Aemond's?? She literally killed TG. And it pains me since she, Aemond and Aegon were my faves.

Anyway, sorry if this was too long. Always love to read your opinions so I had to vent. This is also my farewell to this horrible excuse of the show.

As for Alicent - I do love her, and I try my best to keep my frustration about the things the script had her do this season directed at the writers. But damn. The "men bad, women good" agenda destroyed her character - but looks like that's not the main things the wokes care about. To them Alicent remains a decent person as long as she is not siding with her sons (especially Aemond). And the worst thing is that basically since the beginning of this season the writers have been hammering home the idea that there is no such thing as "team Green" (marketing be damned) as a unit. In the words of TB actors (I believe it was Bethany who said it first, though I might be mistaken) "They all hate each other".

And I am totally with you on the matter of Aemond remaining the only one among TG (at least those we know as we haven't met Daeron yet) who is still willing to fight. Rhaenyra literally tells Alicent she will have to eliminate all competition for the throne - and that includes not only Aegon but Aemond and Daeron as well. And people are still claiming that Aemond is wrong for trying to make his mother understand that her actions (or inaction) put all of their family into danger.

Aemond's scenes with Helaena became just a couple of tools used to make Aemond look bad, indeed. It's literally visible through Ewan and Phia's acting that they tried to show there's more to it - but it's nigh impossible to fight against the script in such cases. Ewan utters "I could have you killed" in the most vulnerable way possible - but it's still a death threat towards his sister, and many people will see it as nothing more than that.

I mean, Phia literally said that Helaena feels safer with Aemond than with Aegon and from each and every Ewan's interview where he mentioned Helaena it was clear that he likes and cherishes her character. But writers just had to ruin this relationship as well - and in such a dumb way.

Aemond's request about her joining the war might be questionable - but, once again, to me it felt like it was not even about Helaena potentially being endangered or her trauma as much as it was about her, a woman, not wanting to fight in a "men's war".

Hey there, I have just finished some of the available translations of supinamarada online and due to some missing chapters I was surprised that Big Genma actually switched school !! How did that happened? And do you think Noda sensei will retain same storyline with dogsred?

Ah..okay so more spoilers indeed:-

In brief,

The contexts...in a way:-

it was Noda's old Ice Hockey Oneshot [ゴーリーは前しか向かない]'s central theme and this carried over to Spinamarada

In Spina:- at various times Kouichi ruminates over himself, especially after losing to Hachinohe, and a talk he has with the Hachinohe coach lead to this

Based on the Dogsred interviews, I'd guess Noda will keep to the broad events that did occur so he might, and seems Noda intends to only redo Spina as Dogsred to the extent he had planned back then(?) Another thing in interviews, Noda likes Goalies best, esp eccentric goalies

I think the sentence was something like 'readers already know the outcomes' is what made me have that impression that he'll keep the general arcs the same. The two characters who however, have overall changed course seem to be Higuchi and Kai alone so far. But since everyone has shifted subtly and changed quite a bit due to every thing that is different in Dogsred, I can't be sure. The arc to come will be the deciding factor if he may or may not.

Spina itself incorporates Noda's 2006 ice hockey oneshot which was a tale of the two Genma brothers and their opposite choices:-

The pragmatic Kouichi who choses to transfer to the 'rival' school they lost to being fully focused on only ice hockey long-term, and Keiichi who wanted to win at the finals with their underdog school and old friends.

While the same arc with Kosugi was there in Spina too, Fuji's is a more major thing in Dogsred note, theres lots of differences

Later on in Spina(end of this current arc in Dogsred), similar to Fuji during middle school, Koichi is approached by the Hachinohe coach after they lost to them a second time and this is after there was this showdown with Higuchi where Higuchi rails at him for both the losses. Wakabayashi and he talk about ice hockey and the coach gives him advice as a fellow goalie, maybe in a way indicating he sees things long-term. Kouichi seems to have made up his wavering mind. Like the oneshot, he chooses to transfer to Hachinohe.

In Spina, Kouichi's accident was a visibly prominent reason for the defeat at the Inter-high championships, tying Rou to that defining defeat and the need to "win the throne back".

In Dogsred, Koichi feels a bit more like the oneshot's Koichi...maybe...

Anyway,

In Dogsred most of the team were now instrumental to them floundering that arc, mostly Higuchi and notably, Kai. Spina Kai is vividly different from Dogsred Kai(younger+has things split into new dgsr charas Rosshi/Asahi/Youta), albeit consistent to a degree - but the thing with Higuchi's abyss… things seem may go differently for that part of the story...which could then change how things progress from there.

Back to Spina- after that, by the time they lose to Hachinohe a second time, Kouichi feels a gap about his skills as a goalkeeper

Next day, he is approached by coach Wakabayashi and they talk about various things. The coach analyzed him thoroughly as a goalkeeper and what his leg habit was which he pinpointed as a weak point.

And being asked why he'd share this weak point thing, is told how something like rival schoolteams is a non-issue as he is giving guidance as a fellow goalie since he sees great potential in Kouichi (there was a point which the Goalie oneshot Koichi's mindset was long-term)

But unlike the Goalie oneshot, Koichi doesn't talk it out with Keiichi, or any of the other boys, till he was already transferring and then it rushes to the final arc/volume. He does wonder about his choice, faces some difficulty there, has a talk with Kiribuchi and talks about his anxiety with Kai the day before the final showdown.

Hachinohe's coach Wakabasyahi is named after the supervisor for the manga Hiroki Wakabayashi and, being very loosely based on him, is a goalkeeping coach. The manga's Wakabayashi in Spina used to GK/coach in Russia before he retired and started teaching in Hachinohe. The real life supervisor, Hiroki Wakabayashi, is a Goalkeeping coach and one of his mentors was François Allaire, who was Patrick Roy's coach (Kouichi is nuts about Patrick Roy)

A version of François Allaire himself appears in Dogsred during the U-18 where he notices Koichi and hands him his card:-

He also gives him the advice(albeit in a single english sentence Kouichi doesn't seem to catch) similar to the advice that Wakabayashi elaborated for Kouichi in Spina. This interaction ends with Kouichi re-evaluating what his ultimate dream is, presumably looking beyond just the school.

okay okay so like i do kind of want to share this little thing i was working on this morning. i'm just giving the outline and writer's commentary version as i would be far too embarrassed to share a first draft, anyway

so:

Koryne Dawnblade is a bit of a complicated character. They're of noble birth and despite largely rejecting a lot of it, they're still fairly privileged. They're the youngest child along with their twin and was given a lot of slack by their parents for being "a little different". So their rebellion in a lot of ways is as rebellious as a kid can be while still living in relative safety and all of that. Prior to their exile, the chapters i have written show them as a bit of an arrogant character; a day dreamer who sort of lives in their own head and doesn't really care much for rules and procedure and all of that. They often run off into the woods outside of the city they live in to escape their duties as a noble. (which will soon become where they choose to build their workshop once they've become a tenured arcanist) They're rude and dismissive to a lot of people because they are solely motivated by their interests. They find anything outside of their studies to be boring and they just have zero interest in being a "Lady".

Jump forward a bit: i am writing their exile scene a bit and my main goal here is to add that bit of sympathy you need for an anti hero type character. prior to this i do have a lot of little flashes here and there, as well as Koryne just being a funny and charming character so you don't hate them as a character. However in this scene, basically Koryne is found guilty on the spot and sentenced to exile as a favour to their father basically. i want this scene to really have the weight of the responsibility of who they really are kind of dawn on them for the first time. There's really sad scene where they're basically asking to be let into their workshop before they're sent to the gates of the wood and is denied because of suspicions of what other magics they might have tampered with in there.

So Koryne looks at their father and breaks down and apologizes for letting him down and tarnishing the family name. They've been such a jerk about maintaining the status of house Dawnblade when they thought it wasn't of any real consequence but now that it's not only affecting him, it's affecting their twin, who is a professor of young mages. i really really want to stress that they do care about their family despite not wanting to be someone they're not. Chara comes up to Koryne, hugs them and pulls them away. They give them a large pack with some survival gear and unfolds a little cloak and cowl that used to belong to their mother. They remind Koryne that if they travel too far south, they'll be in enemy territory and that the robes and colours they're wearing will draw attention.

They cover Koryne in the blueish robes and cloak, clipping it together with the emblem of their house. "Mother's old village will be friendly to you if you present that to them... perhaps you will be given safe passage through the human kingdoms" Chara rests their arms lovingly around Koryne and assures them that the two will be together again and gives Koryne a kiss as they thumb away a tear from their sibling's eye. The two hold hands as Koryne is walked outside of the gates guarding the border of the wood. we then cut to Koryne travelling well beyond the southern border of their ancestral home, their mother's old robes and cloak are dirty and slightly torn. They've completely discarded any visible connection their home and they're truly no longer a Lady.

They open up a map in front of a small fire and trace their finger along a path and points to their mother's old village and nods.

And that's where their exile arc will start. i'm really excited for this story but i'm just like soooo overwhelmed with how big it is that i'm having a hard time focusing on where to write. so i have a lot of different phases of the story written and i need to write a lot of the bits in the middle to connect it all. anyway, if anyone read all of this, thank you. i appreciate it
