"you, specifically, are a bad and evil person that all my posts are written to condemn" this is not what i said. i'm sorry for not being clearer. i just feel like everyone in this space, not just you, look down on people who live in the first world as people who willingly don't change anything about how the world works when it's just not that simple. i know you all love to combat this and say otherwise but it will never change the simple reality that for some people it really is very hard, if not impossible, to do anything politically, for a variety of reasons. i'm disabled, i live in a remote part of the country, and i'm bad at talking to people. i don't have the money to just move to a population center or get lessons on how to speak to people. i can't do anything and i feel like every time you or one of the other communists on tumblr talks about the imperial core, i feel like i, personally, am being held to an unreasonable standard that i would not hold anyone else to, if i were in one of your situations. obviously i want things to change. i don't want genocide to be a thing that's constantly happening, i don't want my country to have its tendrils dug into every other country, i want socialism and eventually global communism, and if i could do anything meaningful-- anything at all-- to achieve those goals i would be working on that. but right now that just is not the case for me, and i feel like i'm not alone in that either. i just wish you had like a smidgen of empathy for some of the people living here who don't fit into your stereotype of what a member of the imperial core looks like-- i'm not even trying to say that sarcastically, it genuinely feels like you all don't see us as human. like nyanguard especially seems to think of us as incapable of saving ourselves, and one of the reblogs to my first ask just said they "like to imagine that (i'm) crying as i type this". how am i supposed to react to that? is this how all of you feel about people like me? would your feelings about me change if i lived in another country, or would you find some other excuse to talk down to me? is it really just the country i live in that's the problem, here? i'm not trying to accuse you, i'm asking this question genuinely.

i know it's tempting to respond to this with a snarky comment but please just try to understand where i am coming from. i really am willing to help if i can.

i don't think any marxist seriously has a political theory of imperialism that amounts to "citizens of the imperial core simply choose not to do anything because they are all individually bad people". i mean the whole point of marxism is that economic relations are the ultimate drivers of historical change, not abstract psychological or moral qualities of people.

i'm sympathetic to your situation! the imperial core is a very atomizing place to live, and there are places and situations where there's just no practical path to getting organized and taking meaningful political action in the near future. however, your problem here is:

nobody is posting about you, personally. like at the end of the day you have to learn to either not take posts like that personally or just block everyone who makes them to manage your own time on the computer vis a vis niceness--i don't think it's the responsibility of me or any other communist to constantly provide asterisks and carveouts that we're not talking about the Good Ones Who Have Extenuating Circumstances when we talk about the usa and its material political base.

& in the same way that you ask for empathy for your situation i would ask you to extend a level of understanding to people whose homelands and countrymen and communities have been devastated by US coups and sanctions and invasions, that they have as much a right to express the rage and fury and hurt of that cultural legacy as you do to express your own sadness about your own situation. imagine, for example, how you would feel if your grandparents could not reliably get medicine because of us sanctions. & of course the correct target for these feelings are not random usamericans--but these posts are also not serious politcal platforms, they are venting from people who live their lives under the weight of empire.

if you think what they're saying is unfair to you, then you need to develop the ability to say 'well, i understand why they would feel that way' and move on. like i understand why you are upset, and i don't say this to be dismissive, but as real advice: it is not fair (especially to bloggers from the global south) to essentially rest your happiness and self-worth at their feet and demand that they validate you.

OVERVIEW

Dbhc, or the Detroit Become Hermitcraft AU, is an au that started as a joke and very quickly stopped being a joke LKFJGDG It’s called Detroit Become Hermitcraft, but not really because it has anything to do with the base game DBH– really, I only yoinked the android mechanics and inserted them into the minecraft-based world of hermitcraft. It’s an au that starts in Hermitcraft Season 8 (aka, many of the first androids were built for the beginning of s8 in this au), meaning that the seasons prior in this au do not technically have those hermits as part of their history. The Life Series are canon to this au, but like earlier hermitcraft seasons, 3rd Life is missing all of the android hermits due to it having taken place prior to HC Season 8.

For Ruggie and Jamil, I have a whole bunch of different headcanons depending on the situations.

First their GloMas interaction gave me life. I found it so perfect, just the two of them finally letting their inner gremlins take over without worrying about their image. It was PERFECT !

I also love that their Signature Spells have the same "manipulation" base, but Ruggie is about the body while Jamil is about the mind. (I usually love adding Jade to the mix with his ability to force the truth out of others. I call the three of them the "Manipulation Gang". I'd love to see the three of them actually gang up some day.)

Jamil and Ruggie also have the same servants-to-spoiled-rich-kids background. I feel like they'd have the most terrible gossip while washing clothes or something. I just can't really imagine them not be friends of sorts. Just pestering about the latest wild nonsense their master has been up to, wondering if they should exchange their burdens (pre chap 6, Jamil would never agree after that) and just generally let the worst of them show to the other coz they don't mind.

In the context of the N2 Squad, Ruggie would definitely be a needed push for Jamil. The kind of "Please just date him, Leona’s mood is only getting worse and I'm tired and if I hear 'im moan about you once more I'm gonna murder you both" or something like that. Ruggie knows the inner workings of Leona, knows the inner workings of Jamil too from their laundry-gossip, and while I can imagine him strive in chaos he would immediately go complain to either Leona or Jamil if their turning around each other made his job harder. After the N2 Squad starts dating though, I can def imagine Ruggie try to profit off being friends with Jamil to get favors from Leona (and maybe Vil too coz why not?)

(Also Ruggie is def Jamil's first fan when it comes to cooking and always tries to have him give him spares from a previous party or whatever.)

i totally agree that it’s ridiculous for people to write fics for films that haven’t been released yet, but the problem isn’t the smut itself. people have every right to write porn if that scratches the itch.

i think your main point is the most important: it’s impossible to write a thoughtful, inspired fic when we don’t even know the story it’s based on. no one knows who this character is or what he’s like.

at this point, everyone should just call a spade a spade and write pedro rpf. all they care about is seeing his face in different situations.

so my earlier post was not so much a statement on Pedro Pascal Character fanfiction/porn, but the commercialization of art and I interpreted the thoughts and opinions of others through the lens of the medium I most often express myself with, which is fanfiction.

let me be clear: i have no problem with smut - pwp or otherwise. people are allowed to write whatever they want, about whoever they want, with whatever tropes make them happy.

my overall focus (and granted it was probably very muddled by the end of those - what, like three reblogs?) was an interrogation of fanfiction as art, and the state of art in this modern era. and after doing some more thinking and listening to more people much smarter than me (thank you to everyone who dm-ed me directly to talk further about this), my opinion is thus: the creation of content (not art) is more ubiquitous today is not because we are getting more stupid as a society, not because of our failing attention spans, not because we are on the brink of moral collapse but because we physically do not have the mental strength to be intellectually curious as a direct result of constant, distracting, emotionally-draining stimuli.

i can explain what i mean below the cut with two primary examples, specifically regarding the shift in fanfiction cult, and yes, the prominence of smutty oneshots in the pedro pascal character fandom of which this blog is a part of.

I have been in various fandoms for almost twenty years. I have been writing fanfiction for almost that same amount of time. In recent years, I've noticed two trends that initially discouraged me, but that I now believe is a symptom of our adjustment to a modern, constantly online era.

A severe lack of engagement within the artistic artifacts of a fandom

The quality of the fanfiction itself (because yes I do consider fanfiction to be an artform) has gone down hill - mostly.

Lack of engagement:

Art is inherently created to be shared. This is especially true for fandom because the community lives or dies by how many people are interacting with each other and sharing ideas (news, theories, fanart, fanfic, etc). If you say a fandom is dead, it means there haven't been any new posts or fic about it in years. So I don't wanna hear it when people say, "oh write for yourself, you shouldn't be chasing engagement" because that is antithetical to the very concept of fanfiction.

In recent years, I have seen and experienced myself engagement in my work only so far as a like or kudo. This is not how it used to be. Message boards (yes I am that old) and niche fandom sites were constantly abuzz with media sharing and excitement, and everyone enjoyed some version of praise (unless you got hit by the antis but they're never fun anyway). Initially I blamed this drop in engagement on laziness: people just want the next thing, they can't be bothered to appreciate the hard work writers put in and they just see content and art as the same thing - stuff to consume.

But I myself am GUILTY of minimal reblogs and comments and I LOVE what I'm writing - the impact certain works leave me with is long, long lasting but for some goddamn reason, I can't sit down and praise the author's works. Am I lazy? Possibly, but this is also not an isolated behavior and it's on the rise: people do not have time to engage with fandom/fanfic like they used to. Most people I know have worked at least two or three jobs at some point in their lives to just to make rent. This gen z is the first generation in DECADES to be worse off economically than their parents. With an interest rate at 8%, who the fuck can afford the security of a home anymore? We work ourselves to the bone for scraps and the realization that The Dream has officially died. And so what do we want to do in the free time we do have? Engage with the very bare minimum. We want to read things that we can at best skim, things we don't have to think about or engage with in any meaningful way. We want a way to turn off the noise of the next apocalypse and sometimes the best we can do is the tap of a thumb.

Which brings me to my next point: what the fuck happened to thoughtful fanfiction?

But this question is inextricably linked to the points above: oneshots are easier to write, faster to write, and if you write fic that is basically "Mad libs porn" (without ever engaging in the actual medium because it is literally not released yet), you are doing the most minimal work for the most amount of engagement. But I can't fault ANYONE for doing that. It feels good to be told your smut is "so hot" or "this exploded my panties" and in this era where the time available to create is so fucking small and minimized of course you're going to write for the most popular character, whether or not you're interested in the source material because we want our art to matter to someone. Intellectual pundits loooove to lambast our "shorter attention spans" but fuck, when are we allowed the time to think - in between this "100 year storm" that's happened twice in the past five years, or the global pandemic that turned millions of deaths into a political punching bag, or the next video of a white woman crying wolf to the police over an innocent black man, or - or - or - or

In a day where reality and the world as we know seems to be holding onto a thread, we turn to comfort: comforting tropes (dbf to rape/kidnap fantasies), comforting fanfic (pwp), and comforting ways to engage with fandom. There is nothing wrong with wanting your art to be appreciated and there's nothing wrong with inherently wrong with pwp - but I do believe its symptomatic of a MUCH larger and more sinister movement within ALL art right now.

I come from the generation who banished fanfic authors for scrubbing off the filing numbers to their fics and publishing it as original content because, in our communities, they were selling out. Fanfiction is inherently an act of rebellion. Every time you write fanfiction you break canon, an established structure with its own rules and boundaries. So by trying to appeal to the masses, to curb your own writing to fit whatever is mainstream, you are doing a disservice to yourself AND to the art of fanfiction. If something you write becomes popular, wonderful, great, you are very lucky and there is nothing wrong with that either. But do not sell out your 13 beloved fans who WILL take the time to leave a comment, who WILL take the time to reblog because your weird little fic spoke to them on a fundamental level and now is with them for the rest of their lives - in favor of a 100 thumb taps.

there’s an odd sense of tension in the air as you look at chishiya. his dark eyes are alluring - almost daring you to finally take the dive and fall deep into them. you can barely feel the warmth of his breath from how close you are. you scan the birthmarks and freckles on his face. you picture them creating a constellation across his skin that matches your own, as if the fates are pulling you together. 

“chishiya,” you whisper. your voice is low. your heartbeat pounds in your ears. the world around you slowly begins to fade. the only thing that matters is the man standing in front of you, looking into your eyes as if he’ll be able to read your mind if he searches deep enough. 

“y/n,” he breathes. you hesitantly reach a hand up to push his bangs behind his ear, exposing more of his face. your hand hovers before his face before you rest it against the skin. chishiya doesn’t move away. instead, he leans into your touch. he tilts his head a little closer to you. “can i kiss you?” 

your breath hitches in your throat. you haven’t been sure of anything since you entered the borderland until now. now, you’re sure. you want to kiss him. 

you lean in to press your lips against chishiya’s in a sweet kiss. his lips quirk upwards as he reaches out to hold your hips, coaxing your body even closer. the world could have ended - the beach fallen, vegetation taken over the land, lasers killed everyone - but none of it would matter. because you were kissing chishiya.

it’s late. too late. the sun has set by now. the stars have begun to twinkle in the sky above chishiya. he sighs, leaning back against the wall. you should be back by now. where are you? 

an unfamiliar feeling of anxiety settles into chishiya’s stomach. he’s not used to caring about people. not like this. his mind is running like it always is, though it’s never felt so much like a burden before. chishiya had always prided himself on his ability to analyze situations. he could tell how someone was feeling, pick holes into any theories or ideas presented, find the most rational solution and use it to his advantage.

but right now, chishiya doesn’t want to be rational. all of the signs point to you being dead. why else would you be so late coming back? you’ve been missing for hours. it’s far past the evening now. even if you do come back now you’ll have to find the beach in the darkness. 

he’s broken out of his thoughts by something moving. he only notices it in the corner of his eye, but it’s something - someone. he steps closer, squinting into the darkness. it’s you.

you’re limping along the asphalt of the road towards the beach’s hotel. chishiya simply stares at you for a few seconds. before he realizes what he’s doing, his body begins moving on its own. he’s running towards you, wrapping his arms around your waist, supporting your body weight against his own as you lean against him. dried blood stains your clothes and is splattered on your face. 

“chishiya,” you sigh, clutching onto him. his mind is racing. instead of asking all of the questions that linger on the tip of his tongue, he pulls you closer. chishiya presses his lips against yours in a desperate kiss - as if you’ll disappear if he stops touching you.

you groan as chishiya gently coaxes your body to the side, maneuvering your body so you’re laying on the bed instead of his chest. you reach out to grab him, pushing him back down onto the bed. chishiya sighs in defeat as you nuzzle your face against him, effectively holding him down with your own body weight. “did i wake you?” he whispers. 

“you’re so warm,” your voice is muffled against his skin. “i always notice when you leave.” 

chishiya hums, raising a hand to rub against your back. he gently scratches his nails against your bare skin. it feels so intimate to lay like this. your chest pressed against his own, blankets only pulled halfway over your bodies, sunlight streaming through the windows. 

“we have things to do today.” 

“we always have things to do,” you whine, shifting to sleepily blink up at him. chishiya lets a small smile spread across his face. “we won a game last night. let’s just stay like this for a while.” 

you know you’ve won the debate when chishiya’s smile grows. he throws his head back to lean against the pillows. you smile yourself, moving upwards to press a kiss against his jawline before laying back down on his body again, this time with your head against his shoulder. “i hate it when you do this.” 

“do what? cuddle with you? kiss you? force you to get a good night’s sleep?” 

chishiya huffs, wrapping his arms around your waist. “you’re too cute to argue with.” 

you can’t help being flustered, shoving your face back into the crook of his neck. “you love it.” 

“i love you.” 

you press a kiss against his neck, smiling when goosebumps raise along his skin. “i love you too.” 

"are you sure about this?"

“chishiya?” said man doesn’t even spare a glance at you as he continues working on yet another invention. his shoulders are hunched from how close he’s leaning in to see exactly what he’s doing. you can almost feel how stressed he is, even from across the room. 

you lock the door behind you before stepping closer. you slowly reach out to press a hand against his shoulder, leaning down to see exactly what he’s doing. he’s holding an empty soda can, fiddling with a mess of wires in his hands. a bottle sits on the desk - something he stole from the mechanics. kerosene. 

“you’re making another bomb?” this time he finally acknowledges you, albeit only with a small hum. unfazed by his dismissive behavior you reach over, slowly forcing him to set the wires down. chishiya looks up at you now, silently questioning what you’re doing. instead of answering you push his chair back. 

chishiya’s hands ghost against your hips as you throw your leg over his to straddle his hips. big brown eyes blink up at you as you lean in, finally pressing your lips to his. it starts off innocent enough. sitting in chishiya’s lap isn’t an uncommon experience in your relationship. though things quickly become more heated when he leans up to press his lips against yours into a deeper kiss this time. 

you’re nearly gasping for air when you finally pull away. his face has a light flush, disheveled blonde hair messily pulled into a ponytail. “are you sure about this?” you whisper. 

chishiya leans up, pulling you into yet another kiss. “i’ve never been more sure about anything else.”

chishiya sighs as he enters your shared room. what was supposed a free day was quickly turned into an incredibly long bore when hatter called him and the other executives into meetings for everything he could think of. though pointless, not showing up would risk damaging his position of authority, small as it may be, so he reluctantly dragged himself to the room and sat around at a table for hours. 

you’re sitting on the bed, already waiting for him. he raises an eyebrow at you, kicking his sandals off and stripping from his jacket. the beach’s air conditioning does little to cool him down after spending so long sitting around in a room. “i thought you were supposed to hang out with kuina tonight.” 

“i was,” you sigh. “but that was when i thought i would be spending the day with you. besides, she’s hanging out with arisu and usagi tonight. something about wanting to get to know them better.” 

chishiya hums, sitting down on the bed. you pat the spot next to you, gesturing for him to lay down. despite his questions he obeys, moving so he’s face down on the bed. you shift so you’re hovering over him, pressing your hands against his back. he groans, letting you massage the tension out of his muscles and shoulders. 

after a while, chishiya sighs. you take the cue to move off of him, rolling to lay next to him. he shifts onto his side to look at you, reaching over to pull you into a kiss. it’s gentle. sweet. your lips quirk upwards into a smile when he pulls away. you take the opportunity to hold him down, pressing little kisses all over his face. chishiya laughs at the ticklish feeling. it’s a beautiful sound - one you don’t hear far often enough. when you pull away both of you look at each other with small, loving smiles. an unspoken agreement passes between the both of you. despite it all, you wouldn’t give this up for the world.

we trans people are called pornography:

"Pornography, manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology sexualization of children..." (page 37)

and conservatives want to outlaw pornography and say those who distribute it should be imprisoned. if trans people are pornography, is not going about our day outside distributing porn?

they also support the death penalty and say that "child sexual abusers" should be given that. i am not disagreeing that CSA is bad; it is. i'm talking about how they're going to classify trans people as that for exposing minors to "porn" for simply going out in public. by saying this, they are using roundabout language and logic to say trans people should be given the death penalty.

"It should also pursue the death penalty for applicable crimes...crimes involving...sexual abuse of children..." (page 554)

they don't want people to be taught about our existence. and they don't want sex taught at all; even safe sex.

"Educators and public librarians who purvey [porn] should be classed as registered sex offenders..." (page 37)

sex education needs to be taught, period. and if they're going to ban abortions and contraceptives, it especially needs to be taught.

"HHS should rescind...preventive services...preventive services include contraception..." (page 483)

"Eliminate the week-after-pill..." (page 485)

they want to ignore what other countries say.

"International organizations and agreements that erode our Constitution, rule of law, or popular sovereignty should not be reformed: They should be abandoned" (page 12)

they want the border SEALED and illegal immigration ended:

and, of course, more xenophobic shit about china:

they want to stop efforts to end climate change:

they want critical race theory and gender ideology erased from schools because they "poison our children". they are erasing things from being taught; and critical race theory isn't about affirming one's characteristics. it's for showing that white people are on top and that it needs to change:

"These theories poison our children..." (page 5)

"...affirm the color of their skin fundamentally determines their identity and even their moral status..." (page 5)

and they straight up don't want america's history being taught. america is founded on racism, tears, oppression, etc. they don't want this taught because they don't want people knowing real american history. so they can't see history repeating itself:

"...racist, anti-American, ahistorical propaganda [in] America's classrooms" (page 8)

they want discrimination based on queer status and "sex characteristics" legal. this is said in regards to the military, but it won't stop there. and "sex characteristics" means YOU, cis people. you can be denied things just for having boobs or a beard. even if you're cis:

"Rescind regulations prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, transgender status, and sex characteristics" (page 585)

"...abolish newly established diversity, equity, and inclusion offices and staff" (page 103)

and misinformation is present of course by saying gender-affirming care causes irreparable damage:

"...'gender transition' procedures or 'gender-affirming care,' which cause irreversible physical and mental harm to those who receive them"

and, quite abhorrently, and i quote, they want words related to queerness DELETED:

"This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity ('SOGI'), diversity, equity, and inclusion ('DEI'), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights..." (pages 4-5).

there is... SO much more i could cover. but i need to cut it short somewhere. and remember: this affects everyone.

cis people, you can be discriminated against for "sex characteristics", which includes things like breasts or facial hair. transphobic queer people, you can and will be discriminated against for your sexuality. your children are at danger of being taught deliberate misinformation at school. america is sealing itself off in a fascist bubble; as much as it hates countries like china and north korea, it is doing the exact same thing. and climate change regulations want to be repealed and climate change science is called "theoretical". this isn't even just about america anymore; this is about the whole world.

vote in the 2024 election. vote democrat. don't let the "mandate of leadership: the conservative promise" by the heritage foundation make this shithole country even worse.

My Xisuma gemcyt design on a sheet. Originally I was gonna have both him and Evil X in one post but I had too many thoughts.

the whole gemcyt au got kicked off by @chrisrin so make sure to check out their stuff and all the stuff they reblogged if you haven't already.

Variation of the sheet above but with more notes below the cut.

Alright. Originally I had just been searching for gems to be potentially fusions as I was planning to do a ZIT and/or ZITS fusion, then noticed that tango and impulse don't have a fusion yet. (tango and skizz don't either, and there's no ITS yet, but whatever)

I was scrolling through potential gems and stumbled upon the existence of purpurite. And there's all the theories of Xisuma being a voidwalker or something and having the mask bc end air is thinner and the overworld atmosphere is too thick, etc etc. But like! Purpurite like how there's purpur blocks in the end. And xisuma's two main colors are purple and green and purpurite is apparently purple and green! I had to make him as a purpurite!

His outfit is trying to adapt his skin/the doomguy armor into a gem style. Xisuma himself is essentially shaped based on Holly Blue Agate since that or jadeite seemed like the most similar gem (ish), and i couldn't see him looking like a jade. Also there was another agate on the show that looked more like the various jaspers that had been corrupted, so there is variety in shape anyway!

I almost have him green spot markings, but they just never looked good, so he doesn't have them. Maybe I'd try again to try and match with Evil X's markings, but maybe the opposites are fine.

Instead of a regular gem weapon, he has a mask. And while it was never confirmed, the main theory about Garnet's glasses is that they're Sapphire's 'weapon'. Plus, Jasper had a helmet, so straight up weapon isn't necessary. I'm planning to do an extra sheet for both of the 'sumas, and for Xisuma it will probably show how he emotes even with him wearing the mask 24/7. If you've seen the Fool's Gold series by Dingodoodles, I imagine it vaguely similar to how Gothi emotes.

And finally, the x's. Like, the x shaped on his outfit/form/whatever. I have it similar to how Rose has the star around her gem. It's just that X has an x around his gem as a cutout from his cuff glove bracer thing. Originally, it was just that his backside felt empty and I wanted something there, so I put another x on the back, but then I got ideas and now there is a very good reason why he also has one there. But I'm not covering that here.

And the actual last part is that the sheet mentions its from Cabochon Cut. I'm actually working on a one shot under that title that I will hopefully post tomorrow. Hopefully. We'll see.

Predictions on What Might Happen in Drdt ch.3 Part 1

So with the emotional roller coaster of ch.2 finished, I figured it would be nice theorizing what could happen next chapter based off the current information we know and some predictions/theories I’ve either seen around or have. Share any thoughts about the theories/prediction or your own down below the comments or reblogs! This will be multiple parts due to the word limit, so let's get started!

For starters, lets go over who’s currently alive:

As for gender ratio we have 6 girls, 1 enby, and 5 guys remaining(unless Levi dies, then only 4).

So with that being said, that means most likely to balance out the gender ratio between the guys and girls(excluding Nico our beloved furry enby), we would have to have 2 girls die and 1 guy die. Leaving only 4 girls, 4 guys, and 1 enby left. That is if Drdt follows the three people dying during chapter 3 formula(to which this post will pretend it will).

Now who would our victims and culprit be? We’ll get back to that later. For now lets move onto the current mental states and situations our cast is in and how that will reflect on their development/survival chances?

Teruko: As we seen in the last ep of ch.2, Teruko…..is not doing great. Now Teruko has definitely gotten a lot of great development in the sense of potentially starting to trust others again as we seen in the trial. But there’s also the factor that Teruko is suffering from the deaths of her classmates in secret due to thinking she’s to fault for their deaths because of her luck. Seeing Ace died affected Teruko badly because she was just like him in trying to push others away to be safe and not hurt(Ace being basically a dark reflection of Teruko this chapter). Along with seeing herself no different from him or Arei in being a bad person. This could definitely affect Teruko in her current relationships(Charles, Eden, Rose, Whit, and possibly Levi now), but I still think there’s a spark of hope that Teruko will allow herself to at least work with others or hang out a bit more with people at a distance. I conclude that Teruko Tawaki will start working with others again while suffering from guilt both survivors guilt and guilt of almost having Levi killed because she broke a rule via asking Ace to kill MonoTv.

Charles: Now last we seen of our beloved tsundere chemist was him going back to a state of shock from seeing Levi bloody and barely alive. To which after Charles recovers from it and Levi is taken care of, here’s what I think will happen to him. I believe we’ll see Charles starting to work more with others who are willing now that we see that Charles accepts friendship from others thanks to Whit(and kinda Teruko in ch.1). Along with his friends, he is definitely gonna be so worried and upset at Teruko for almost dying. Yeah she didn't get shot and instead Levi did, but still Charles was concern for her regardless if her luck would prevent her from dying. Another thing I saw brought up from a few posts is Charles starting to become more independent while still dependant on others. What I exactly mean is I think Charles will prevent others like Whit from trying to protect him as he does not want to be pitied and with him being sheltered by his parents, this increases his desire to do and face things on his own. This might cause complications in his friendship with Whit since Whit seems to be really protective of Charles to cover his eyes when death/blood happens or giving him an alibi in the trial. But who knows?(although I can see them targeting Charwhit as they had it good for too long and how every other yaoi/Yuri ship has been doomed). Also we might get more Charles and Elliot lore next chapter, I'm feeling it.

Whit: So Whit……its kinda hard predicting what will happen to Whit exactly since the dude doesn't let the current situation bother him(the secrets being all revealed, Levi almost dying, Ace dying, etc). Only concern he has is with Charles and like I said for Charles, maybe we might have CharWhit drama, its hard telling. But I will say that I believe Whit is probably going become more suspicious since we seen that one sprite in ep16. Like seriously WTF WAS THAT WHIT!? Like no joke if this keeps up, he is definitely the mastermind or at least traitor. I got my eyes on you Whit Young (≖_≖ ) . Oh and I do have a theory of what role Whit can play in ch.3 I’ll go more into another section.

Eden: Oh sweet Eden, you deserve so much 😭 Okay so definitely Eden is going to be in mourning over Arei and I feel like with now both Ace dead and Levi almost dying, she’s probably at her mental limit. Like I don't believe she’ll end up like Teruko in the beginning of ch.2, but I don't think Eden will be able to be the good support system for everyone with what she’s going through rn. Like Teruko and Xander with his family, Eden is going through survivor guilt over Arei, Min, and possibly Ace? We seen how Eden thinks Min’s death is her fault with the baking activity and think its the same with Arei during the trial. Along with Ace, Eden did state that while she doesn't forgive him for killing Arei, she feels bad for him and this happening. Like Eden said, this all could’ve been prevented. Eden probably blames herself in not checking up on Ace, trying to befriend Arei that lead to her trying to protect her, or not being able to help diffuse the fighting at the cafeteria as well since that lead up to David making everyone reveal their secrets to each other. I think it will take some time and emotional support hopefully from Teruko and anyone else kind to support her for Eden to be able to bounce back from this one.

J: Honestly I don't have a lot to say about J rn. Her main concern is on Levi, but if I was going to guess what might happen to her or be explored with her for chapter 3. We’ll probably get more lore on her family and perhaps why J seems more anti-murder than everyone else. Along with this, she’ll probably snap and get Arturo hopefully off her back for good if he still tries to stalk/bother her. Otherwise hopefully she’ll just be vibin.

Arturo: Oh Arturo, you are definitely being set up for some character development. With Arturo’s secret being revealed about his sister, his involvement with Eden and Arei, and along with having Levi’s life in his hands. He is going to be going through the wringer I tell you. To start off, if Levi lives, I think that will be a bit of hope and maybe redemption in himself in Arturo’s eyes as I feel like his dialogue to Ace in ep16 might hint he feels like he can’t save anyone since he couldn't save his sister from dying(via killing herself). If Levi dies, that is going to start a downspiral for him as he is going to believe he failed to save someone again and now has two deaths on his hands. Going into his sister and involvement with Eden, I think this is going to cause some discourse with others. Specifically J and Hu. J because she already thinks low of him because of his treatment towards her and the fact she believes he is actually responsible for Felicity’s death(although you could argue that maybe she just said that because she’s mad at him for causing this murder to happen a little). Hu I think will get on him too for both threatening Eden which lead to Ace being able to frame her and kill Arei and the fact Hu does not take lightly of someone causing a suicide knowing her secret. I think this will be apart of the discourse over the group’s secrets and potential fault in what happened last chapter.

Veronika: Oh girlie you’re the one I’m concern for the most! Okay so Veronika is starting to get more disturbing in the killing game with how she’s reacting to both Ace’s death and Levi getting injured. And with both her secret revealed and how the group is going right now, I don't think it will be good for her. We know how that Veronika uses her talent and to extent, the killing game to entertain herself enough to prevent her from self harming herself. With how I think the group will have conflict with each other, I think she’ll be fine at first since drama will be interesting to her. Even if she gets involve as I could see someone blame her for what happened last chapter since she failed to stop Nico and Ace’s fight along with encouraging Ace’s paranoia about dying. I don't think she’ll feel bad since there was other factors + she finds it more interesting how events happen. All of this will possibly come crashing down for her as if everyone starts distancing themselves from others, then how will Veronika be able to keep herself entertained? She won’t have any drama or anyone to watch horror movies with her. This could lead to her going to a dark space in possibly causing something to entertain her or be possibly manipulated.

So I'm still thinking about Mel and Viktor in a Soul Eater au 😂

I've only watched the anime so I'm going more based on that, but I know/looked up in the past what happens in the manga when it comes to the fate of Crona and Maka.

I still think it'd be interesting to have Viktor in a Crona-like role in the story given his whole transformation arcs that, despite my MANY criticisms of how it was handled this season, are integral to his character. I'd want to find a way to give him more autonomy though, at least later down the line. I can picture Singed playing a role like Medusa but in a more oddly chill kinda way because of how he is as a character instead of actively malicious and sadistic like Medusa (he'd totally try to create a new Kishin just because). That and they're both characters who just keep making it out scot-free for either the entirety of the story or for a long ass time (depending on if you're referring to anime or manga Medusa).

Mel's relationship with Ambessa and her own secret magic made me reconsider if I wanted to incorporate some Medusa and Crona elements with them instead but I decided against that for a couple of reasons. Viktor being the one set up as a calamity in canon, fit better with a Crona-like role for this au whereas Mel is chosen by the Black Rose to be their silver bullet against him. Plus, Mel working on the council in Piltover would translate better to working in the Death Weapon Meister Academy.

Also, because of the theories around Mel and Ambessa being Kindred blessed and canon stating/implying that she has a secret magic parent, I think it'd be cool for her to either be a child of death like Death The Kid or blessed in some way by Kindred who'd take the role of Death in Soul Eater. Alternatively or additionally she could be half witch and the Black Rose could play the role of witch society in this au that tries influence Mel given her position in the Academy and witch heritage. I feel like there was a character in the Meister Academy that was secretly a witch or half witch but I can't remember. That's where the alternate/additional idea came from tho.

I've said it a bajillion times, but there's so many parallels and similarities between Mel and Viktor and because of my off hand comment about it being cool if, in a different/more high-stakes magic oriented story, they channeled some Crona and Maka energy... it'd be really cool to me personally to explore some of that in this au.

This way I can also shoe-horn in a Mel reaches out to Viktor's soul or vice versa moment like my fanart lol XD (that episode where Maka reaches out to Crona is still one of my favorites 😭💖 especially when they paralleled that moment later down the line).

Also, I'm thinking Jayce would be Mel's weapon in this au because I feel that just fits for them, Mel being the meister and him being the weapon, since she was the main patron of hextech and he works in a forge.

When I have more thoughts about this, I'll post them too. I'm considering how the black blood plot point could affect Mel and Jayce like it does with Maka and Soul. I'm also thinking about what other characters in the show would be weapons, meisters, witches, etc. so I might make that developing list a separate post or just reblog this again and add onto it.

The Clues of Good Omens are trolling us

I didn't reblog this post I saw a few days ago, and now I'm regretting it. Not like, I'll be on my death bed full of thoughts of this post, but like, it made a solid point and I think it's worth repeating.

I had already been thinking about some of the stuff various Ineffable Mystery Game Players are noting, and wondering how important some of this stuff is. There are some wild little details that people are chasing down.

I think that's fascinating. I also think it's not the slightest bit important to figuring out the hidden story; and if it leads to anything, it's going to circle back to things that can be found in other, easier-to-spot Clues. That's NOT to say I don't think people should be doing it. I am; at least somewhat. It's FUN.

I DO think a lot of layers of detail and intricacies have been added to the show to trip up people looking for what's going on. Much like digging for dinosaur bones, there's nothing to be found in the top layer, interesting stuff that's probably not dinosaurs under that, and real dinosaurs under that. Look too deep, though, and you bypass the dinosaurs entirely and start finding more interesting stuff that's also not dinosaurs. If you're just digging for joy, great. Have at it. There's a ton there. If you're looking for dinos, though, you need to know how far to dig and where to stop.

The post I mentioned said, paraphrasing: "It's a TV show. Whatever's going on has to be quickly explainable to the casual viewer. Most of the TV audience isn't digging this deep or going to be able to follow some of these really crackpot theories."

This is true. This is absolutely true.

So far, all my own theories do fit inside an easy-to-explain-in-a-few-seconds model. And I intend to work to keep them that way. Are some of my Clues a little off-the-wall? Sure, but wherever I found them, they're still dinosaurs. Several of them have easier Clues than what I dug up, but they all lead back to the same place: a story that will make sense when explained quickly.

Two Crowleys? Just have to have the second one walk on screen. Secret twins have been done before on many shows. Done.

Gabriel stole records from Heaven that Aziraphale will use to take them down? A quick flashback will show us that -- we might not even need that much. "The records Gabriel stole when he left," Aziraphale says, and a bunch of the picture snaps into place for the casual viewer. Maybe not the entire thing, but enough that they can follow.

Saraqael has been working with Crowley and Aziraphale? Show the three of them talking not in code about literally anything, it becomes clear they're cooperating.

Missing scenes? Again, a short sequence showing us that something got jumped over -- and how it got jumped over -- will put that to rest. We don't have to necessarily know what got jumped over, just that something did.

Nina is Jesus 2.0? Listen to what I just said -- how quick was that? How difficult to understand?

The whole entire picture doesn't have to be drawn out in intricate detail for the casual audience to follow the gist. I think plenty of Ineffable Mystery will be left intact for us to keep mining for years and years. But the main points, the important plot points, will be quickly summed up.

I'm going to keep digging willy-nilly, because it's fun. There's a lot to find. But I'm also going to try to keep my thoughts based in the story as it would be told to someone interested in sci-fi/fantasy TV. Viewers like that tend to be brighter than the average bear, but not all of us are mystery sleuths. I'm not looking for Atlantis, I'm looking for dinosaurs. If I find Atlantis while I'm down there, cool. But I'm not going to hang that from a wire and put it on display at the Smithsonian in the paleontology wing.

Nobody would get it.

Applied Transunity Theory : I

Based on a recent reblog, I'm going to attempt to apply transunity theory to some of the examples of transphobia which Julia Serano brings up in Whipping Girl. I will be focusing on examples where she brings up trans men and nonbinary people, as her original analysis of trans men's and nonbinary people's oppression is often flawed (if not inaccurate entirely). If you wish to see some of my other analysis of Serano's work or Whipping Girl (henceforth WG), search my blog for "serano".

Without further ado, here is the first example I'd like to focus on - p.11 Trans Woman Manifesto

This whole passage has multiple issues, but there is only one I'm going to really focus on today, concerning the very end of the passage:

"When women's or lesbian organisations and events open their doors to trans men but not trans women, that is not transphobia- it is trans misogyny"

From a transunitist point of view, it is immediately obvious that this rhetoric in the quote is one of many needlessly divisive lines which Serano inserted into WG. A rule of thumb for approaching Whipping Girl is to disregard anything she says about trans men, because she often speaks for or over trans men while saying very inaccurate things about them. This is one such example. A transunitist approach here would examine how there isn't only transmisogyny at play when cis women exclude trans women and include trans men, but also transandrophobia. In this post, its my intention to highlight how two arms of transphobia can work in tandem to the detriment of trans women and trans men.

So what would a transunitist analysis here look like? What would we change or reexamine about this example? (Repeated below for easy access)

"When women's or lesbian organisations and events open their doors to trans men but not trans women, that is not transphobia- it is trans misogyny"

I'd propose this analysis:

1.  What is meant by women's or lesbian organisations or events? Serano implies they are cisgender run orgs and events. If these cis women's groups are opening their doors to trans men, what does that imply about how those cis women see trans men? With this, is is actually a positive thing that the doors are being opened for trans men? Are trans men benefiting from this or are they actually suffering from this? Isn't the inclusion of trans men who don't want to be in women's events or spaces in those spaces an example of transphobia against trans men (transandrophobia)?

Does the framing of this quote direct disdain towards trans men for being "included" while trans women aren't? As pointed out in point #1, it is cisgender women running these spaces, nor trans men. Shouldn't the disdain at non inclusion be directed at the exclusionary women rather than trans men? Is Serano's anger being directed at the wrong group? Is frustration at exclusionary cis women being directed at trans men?

Wouldn't this sentence work if all reference to trans men were removed? What is the purpose of contrasting with trans men here? Does it achieve anything? Does the superfluous comparison negatively affect trans men?

Now that the background has been laid out, I want to explore how Serano correctly identifies the transmisogyny in the example, but either is oblivious to (or deliberately ignores or downplays) the transandrophobia here. Once we see that there is not one kind of transphobia going on here, but two kinds, we instantaneously have a more complete analysis right off the bat. Hence why transunitism is so important right now.

Serano's impmication is that there are no negative side effects to trans men being included in women's events. Plainly, it is misgendering trans men, first and foremost and is is already transphobia. (However, I will add the caveat this does not apply to trans men who grew up in lesbian spaces before they came out as trans men, who may consent to being in lesbian spaces. The same goes for trans women who were in gay men's spaces pre transition). For simplicity's sake, we are analysing this from the pov of trans men who don't want to be included in women's spaces, but are bombarded with offers to anyway. The bottom line is, the trans men in Serano's quote are often unwilling to be included in women's spaces and are distressed when offers are made to include us under the category of woman, because, you know, misgendering. But Serano either doesn't realise this or downplays trans men's issues to the point that basic misgendering against trans men doesn't register to her. In any case, there is transandrophobia present in this scenario.

The transmisogyny part is obvious, being the exclusion of trans women from women's spaces when they should be included.

Now, imagine if, instead of putting trans men and trans women against each other like Serano does in the quote, we reimagine this scenario's analysis by including transandrophobia and transmisogyny theory to explore how cis women's transphobic exclusion of trans women often comes with a transphobic inclusion of trans men. In other words… Two arms of transphobia intersect to inflict damage on trans women and trans men.

You can see this with other examples, such as when transphobes complain about inclusive language around periods and blame trans women for it. In that situation the first arm is the transmisogyny (blaming trans women for inclusive period language because they're hypervisible as trans people) and the second arm is  transandrophobia and/or exorsexism (ignoring that the inclusive langauge is meant to benefit trans men and some nonbinary folk and that the focus on helping these people has been lost, leading to further invisibility/ lack of support altogether).

This post is super mega long by now, but I hope this has been a worthwhile read. I would very much appreciate your feedback about this analysis, I know I can't cover everything in one post, but I'd be delighted to see your takes on this and other people's transunitist takes too!)

Cherry Magic & Colour Symbolism

I swear there was a post about this that I reblogged, but for some reason, I can't find it anymore??? So, I'm going to make my own post inspired by the original while also adding some of my own thoughts.

Adachi is usually surrounded by yellow/warm colors when in environments he's most comfortable in; for example, his room!

Once Kurosawa starts to influence Adachi's life, he becomes enveloped by cool colours, mostly blue. Either that or warm and cool colours appear on/near Adachi in tandem, like the scarf Kurosawa lent to him. It's blue and white (cool) and also has a bright red stripe (warm). There's also the completely blue pajama set Kurosawa gave Adachi when he slept over at Kurosawa's apartment. At that point, Adachi was fully immersed in Kurosawa's presence.

Here's an instance where we see how the colour symbolism is used to convey the state of Adachi's and Kurosawa's relationship. I find this shot really interesting because the warm wood of the front door and cabinets perfectly block in Adachi on the right while the left side of the shot is made up of blue and white, which blocks in Kurosawa. While the two guys are distanced equally apart from each other by the dining table, the narrow space of warm colours on the right is overpowered by the wide space of cool colours on the left. The background reflects how Adachi is feeling during episode 2, overwhelmed by Kurosawa's affection.

In the movie we pretty much see the exact opposite happen once Kurosawa moves into Adachi's apartment! Kurosawa's blue bed has now replaced Adachi's and there are various blue objects scattered around the living room. They all work together visually signaling to the viewer "Kurosawa is sharing this space now". Adachi's signature yellow motif is still the most prominent though, cause the apartment was originally just his.

In this shot, unlike the one in Kurosawa's dining room during episode 2, we see a pretty much equal distribution of yellow and blue! Adachi is in his very-much yellow half of the shot while Kurosawa resides in the kitchen which has a very blue tint to it, while this shot makes thematic sense (it is showing how Adachi's and Kurosawa's relationship is finally balanced) it also works to reinforce characterization. What I'm saying is, of course, the blue space that represents Kurosawa is Adachi's kitchen, KUROSAWA LOVES TO COOK!!! IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!

Now, I can point out and analyze colour theory in Cherry Magic screenshots all fucking day, but I actually have a question I want to pose to people because even I don't know what would be the best fitting answer. The thing that has got me stumped is, in the context of a sun/moon dynamic, who would be the sun and who would be the moon in this relationship? I wanna draw fanart based on the sun/moon trope and I dunno what to do.

Is Adachi the sun because he's literally represented by yellow/warm colours or is he the moon because the moon is associated with shyness, going with the flow, and being "the supportive one". Is Kurosawa the moon because he's literally represented by blue/cool colours or is he the sun because the sun is associated with charisma, leadership skills, and liveliness?

Kurosawa's also described by Adachi as "blinding" multiple times, so that makes him sound like he has sun energy, BUT HE'S FUCKING ASSOCIATED WITH BLUE ALL THE TIME, AND BLUE IS A NIGHTTIME COLOUR!!! I DUNNO WHAT TO PICK!!! HELP!!! SOMEONE, HELP ME PLEASE, I JUST WANNA MAKE CUTE FANART!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
