I say this as a hoarder in recovery, but i feel like a lot of the stationery/art supplies nerdery scene is a lot like the book buying scene, in that it's not really about what you're going to use/read but about what makes you look the most serious about your hobby, to the extent your hobby is less stationery/books and more just having stationery/books

#like do i feel very passionate about pens and have way too much of them? yes #am i a nasty little freak when it comes to paper type and quality? for sure yes #but like i have nothing to prove with it. i don't need or desire a drawer full of pens with aesthetical acrylic dividers #were hobbies always like this? just geared to be aesthetically pleasing and not enjoying of the thing itself?#like I'm not being superior to hoarders because again. I'm a pathological hoarder. this isn't about this #something something purity of the hobby isn't it either #i just wish these hobby circles were less full of aesthetic setups and more about the enjoyment of the thing itself #like I'm a geek for good organization of my hobby space too ngl. but i feel like I'm being advertised fashionable organization #rather than having the space be gushing about the hobby #I'm barely old enough to remember a world without social media so i don't know if hobbies were always about aesthetics rather than enjoyment #or if it's a new thing #anyway

Does anyone know where I can find the good quality version of this image? It's so frustrating because when cross searching on google it'll tell me the original quality is 850x478, but I can't find a way to download it in that quality. There's no “large” “medium” “small” and instead it only gives you “find image source”#Dude I don't want to find the image source. I've downloaded the image I KNOW the source. What I want is ANOTHER SOURCE with better quality #And I used to get it when I was 10 and I used to get it when I was 15 and I sued to get it when I was 20 #And now I don't have it anymore?? It stripes away one of the most powerful search tools on the internet from the public????#It drives me insane. Like why does internet get worse every year that's not how humanity is supposed to work #Sorry. I needed to rant. This makes every quality-freak media archivist (like me) job harder beyond comparison #Btw if you're looking for an alternative Yandex images still does the work... His electronics were advertised to be working though. So. Guess who's getting their dream grail for their Animated collection? It's this bitch right here.

So. I'm taking a gardening cert class through an extension university. Really well written, great flow and presentation of content knowledge, concepts, as well as resources for where to read or how to find other knowledge sources. Great. Lovely.

Anyway it's supposed to run from Dec to March but I procrastinated badly and. I am doing it all in two weeks.

From an educator's perspective, the way I am completing this is Bad and Not Pedagogically Sound. I also just took the entomology quiz without reading any of the materials and got a 100% so :/

#harper talks #I just need this certificate I will Do It Evil if the other option is don't do it at all #yes I know ento is a flex I am reading the other sections of course but also I have:#worked in a greenhouse for 3 years #was raised by someone actively doing invasive and native plant species management #have run gardens both professionally and personally for years #taken tons of ecology and enviro courses #have many botanist and ecologist freak (affectionate) friends #have done academic research related to pesticide uses and impacts #stare at iNat everyday #this is an ongoing issue for me oops #I'm great at putting things off and then sticking the finish it's not good #I wrote my PhD prelims in... 36 hours? maybe?#and got so much praise on the quality of my written and oral responses #this will be Fine #not Good! but Fine!#obnoxious capitalization sorry
