New chapter, woo! First, I loved the therapist scene since I’ve been all about them healing! Haha I understand Wanda and am so rooting for her well-being! Reader has been an ass, some times it has been completely understandable, but also Wanda didn’t deserve the way reader was treating her at some point, so I loved this quote, “your past action doesn’t determine who you are for the rest of your life,” because for me personally, you know, I’ve committed mistakes and for some time I thought my bad mistakes made me a bad person. But that’s not the case, as long as you’re willing to move forward and heal, as long as you recognize that your mistakes were obviously bad and you’re working on rectifying them that what you did is not who you are and I’m glad that Wanda is trying to keep that in mind to help her healing, that she’s using that to help herself! Two, Agatha is a really great friend! Really there for Wanda and although she was subtle with her jabs towards reader, which if that were really me I’d be like, “fuck, get on with it, just tell me!” Haha I love that she respected Wanda’s wishes and made reader you know like uncomfortable, because it kinda seemed like reader was sorry, but not too much? Like “yeah, we both went through it, moving on.” Third, hello Peter!! I love Peter already, he seems like such a cutie!! Haha fourth, Sparky is going to be okay!! Omg omg omg omg!!! My turn to go wild!! LOL. So long story, short when it comes to SVT: I was a casual fan for a long time, but only started during L&R era. Okay in theory, the darkest minds au:

Just kidding this stuff basically never stays "in theory" for more than like a day here is lore under cut (things can very well change)

(i am just adjusting a few rants i wrote to @eddiend about this since i dont wnat to write a totally new one)

so i just in theory started thinking about a st the darkest minds au, which is interesting. i think i like the movie but it was a while ago i watched it, but i definitely like the concept for it.

if u dont know wht it is, its a dystipian future film based on a book by the same name, about how there started spreading a disease callled I.A.A.N in people under 18, that doesn't show symptoms or anything untill they die, its just randomly the child will have some kind of seizure like thing, where they start to shake and their eyes start to glow, if they r holding anything it will telekinesisly crumble kinda. and then as suddenly as it started the child is dead.

eventually is 90% of children dead and weird stuff starts to happen to the ones who have survived. and that is where the interesting thing to think about is. bc the children get powers categoried in colours (from least to most dangerous):

green: increased intelligence

blue: telekinesis

gold: manipulate electricity

red: create and control fire (shoot from mouth in movie)

orange: mind control

orange and red are the most dangerous but also extremely rare, when all the children start getting sent to facilities are they supposed to kill reds and oranges on sight. but it seems that some reds dont get killed and instead brainwashed and tourtured to become mindless weapons for the military since they are so distructive.

so yeah thats how the world works kinda, i wont go into the continued plot since that is not that important at the moment, whats important is what colours st characters would be so lets start from the top:

orange: el and will (i know that since el have telekinesis in the show that could be an answer but seriously she would be the most dangerous one and for will it is bc of his conection to the upside down and the signs pointing to him being like Henry/vecna/001. yk its obvious)

red: max (thinks it works well, could do great plot lines with it, and she got rescuded from the facilities before they could brainwash her, bc there are adults who actually want to help the kids of course (joyce and hopper would definitely be helping children flee))

gold: eddie, Jonathan (this is alot simply bc it seemed the best, eddies pretty hyper yk, and Jonathan i thought of cameras and simply thought this one was the best suit for him, but he could also be a blue)

blue: steve, lucas, mike (in some ways this was just the ppl i didn't know what to do with, but i do think it works pretty well, dont have that much motivation for it tho. argyle would probably be here too)

green: dustin, erica, nancy (they r all geniuses, it isnt much more than that)

(i just before I continue want to say that in the actual book/movie personality n smartness before i.a.a.n doesn't effect what colour you become, its random, with some colours just being more common, but when u do an au line this, ots much more interesting to think what that suits the character yk, but still keep that in mind)

...so I didn't mention robin in that , she is kinda complicated so i kinda need a long rant about her, thats what i do, bc green could be a simple option, she is a genius we all know that, but honestly i dont think it suits well. i can be me being biased n just wanting to make her something more interesting but i think i genuinely dont think it suits her. and also like i said in the paranphasis above it doesn't always have to be connected. but just i see the green a more focused, textbook smart (which robin is), they know all the physics in the diffrent dimensions. robin is smart, she is great at conections and has great memorie, but she isnt the person who walk around like they are an textbook for school. more a book of random facts yk.

but anyways the colours i actually thought were gold n red. gold is a bit like with eddie, its just their energy, their vibe, which gives of gold feels. i could see her using electric powers yk.

for red its probably more of the biased stuff n just wanting to use it to make more ✨angst✨, but i do think i can see it. n it help that max is the other person whos a red, bc theyarer still a lot alike, and it works well with them having the same colour. plus she is still a pretty feisty, or at least snarky, kinda jerky person (im saying this affectionately bc im not better). it is very much walls n defense mechanisms just like it is a lot with max. like just the way they act n react to trauma n really most situations is a lot alike so them being the same makes sense yk.

And also just another reason why I kinda think robin could be a red is BC otherwise the only Red is Max, which would Hella boring. And the two probably best options for another red is Nancy or robin I would say, Robin i argured before, but Nancy works pretty well too, she has a good relationship with Max n I think U can kinda understand with everything n guns why it works. But I feel that Nancy suits being a green too much to be anything else yk, she is the perfect kind of genius to be a green so it feels weird to make her something else, plus if shes a green she can still use guns instead of using her powers which she would use if she was a red yk.

I also think from a narrative point it doesn't work well, I have an idea of how some things would play out which works well, n with that way, Nancy n max wouldn't even interact untill later n have that realationship as reds that is possible with robin being a red in the story

N i have continued thinking about what would like happen n stuff n I thought of some things. one is that barb didn't make it, she died from i.a.a.n and in front of Nancy at that (sorry :)). N then with robin being a red, something I didn't mention is that the reds have a tendency to twitch, an extra amount when they use their powers I think. Which u could do that BC of how it looks when they twitch like A LOT, that Nancy the first time thinks that she is going to die from i.a.a.n BC she stil has a fear all her friends will BC of barb.

There is also a character in the books apparently who's a red who gets called "twitch" bc of the whole red thing and I could see robin being called that after Nancy has stopped having her panic attack realising she won't die

And Steve have a few burns from robin, BC powers are hard and she has trauma

‪Got found out and sent to a facility after an accident were the fire departement was called.‬ Got rescured from the facility after not having been there long, which luckily meant they never got actually brainwashed. She is though extremly traumatized since she got sent to the facility at the about same time as Max and tried to protect the kid as much as possible ending with her geting waterboared before her and Max (Steve was also at the same facility) got saved. When Nancy realised Robin weren’t going to die she started calling them ”Twitch” for teasing and flirting.

Nancy basic story kinda (things can have been mentioned earlier):

‪Had to vittnes her best friend (Barb) die from I.A.A.N.‬ Got sent to a facility with Mike not long after 90% of children had died by Ted. Got rescured by Joyce and Hoppers group 6 years after I.A.A.N. She often still thinks her current close friends will die from I.A.A.N, and when she first saw Robin twitch more unconrollably since they’re a red she though they were going to die

22: oh this is so good and fun. i love that shes almost 32 singing this you can hear her having fun with it. it definitely sounds less authentically young than the og does but i think her voice and the production are also more pleasant to listen to now. im so excited for anyone whos 22 right now and has this.

i almost do: ohh the ��i cant say hello to you” line hit DIFFERENT i love it. the guitar coming thru in the last chorus actually reminds me so much of debut era which i am SO excited to hear rerecorded. god she can do things with ballads now that she couldnt before and its so good. like 3 separate syllables in “mess” in “we made quite a mess babe” it sounds excellent.

wanegbt: shes gotten so good at the singing-like-shes-talking thing the snark comes thru so strong blondie i love u. its a bop it sounds so great. the “wheeeEEE” is so high pitched but i think its funny

stay stay stay: oh her voice sounds softer i really like it. the fake country twang has returned lol good for her. recreating the giggle “its so fun” at the end feels Mildly weird to me but whatever its cute.

the last time: OH HI GARY LIGHTBODY his vocals sound soo good. IS THAT A HEARTBEAT IN THE BACKGROUND. UHHhhhhh??? OH. OH WOW. aAHh. okay!! okay. i feel normal and fine. this fucks. everything sounds so clear. its cinematic. groundbreaking spectacular.

holy ground: YEAH YEAH YEAHHHHHHH BABEYYYY. god she sounds so fucking good im losing braincells. i was hoping she’d do the deep throaty joan jett “DUST!!” she did at that one 2017 (i think?) show but its still good.

1. Gaya Sa Pelikula(like in the movies)

I absolutely love this series. A big shout out to the writer he/she/they has done a great job. The plotline was simple yet impactful and much need(I know lot of people felt comforted/understood after watching the series). The ost and playlist of the series is perfection and the cast omfg they are so so good. Every single one of them.

2. I Told Sunset About You

First thing first. This series got one of the best cinematography. Reminds me of Wong kar-wai movies. Talking about kar-wai. Oh-aew give me major Tony Leung character from happy together vibe. The acting is stellar (especially the tension between the two main character). I am so glad we are getting season 2..

3. It's Okay Not To Be Okay

Series that speaks about mental health is very much needed, especially in Asian drama. Living in a country where mental health is ignored, this series felt comforting.Great casting and well written plotline.

4.Gifted the series

I watched both the seasons this. The story was interesting but i wish it ended differently tho. Either ways it was a great watch.

5.Cherry Magic

This series is my happy home. I loved Thursdays just because of episode release. Adachi finding love at 30 strangely comforts me.. It makes me feel like it's okay to take your time.

6. Theory Of Love

Yes TOL is usual unrequited love for your best friend plotline but what I appreciate the most is that third prioritised himself(not in first half tho) He didn't accept Khai immediately he thought through what Khai has put him through. He took his time and that's the sign of healthy relationship imo.

7. Gameboys

This was my first Filipino series. I love that they did this in middle of pandemic and spoke about all the things ppl went through.It was relatable.

The kiss in between Sanitized plastic sheet is iconic. Also them meeting in middle of empty street which would have been in crowded if it wasn't for pandemic.

8. Paava kathaigal

This is a Tamil series (not sure it can be called series it got 4 eps of independent story). This show bravely spoke about all the controversial topic. Hon*r kil*ng, c*st s*system ,tran*phobia and r*pe... It touched my heart. I never thought I would ever see a lesbian character in mainstream tamil cinema. I am so glad we are progressing.

9. Alice In Borderland

Okay I looked up for this show cuz our dear Kurosawa acted in it and I found my another fave kento yamazaki is lead so I watched. It kept me hooked on right from first episode. I would highly recommend this.

kenhina: truly, truly adore. they each draw a new and special kind of motivation and friendship from each other that they just don’t get from anyone else. the only reason this isn’t, like, my all time favorite is bc there’s not as much content that gets me hyped about it

bokuaka: you cannot tell me they aren’t in love and have me believe it, no matter what reasons you give me. the only annoyance i have with this ship is that i can’t figure out how to write a good fic about them, but it’s not like that’s their fault

okay so Eric/Adam:

I rly like th idea u had where they meet at one of Bobby’s groups (also throwing in tht I think abt Group Therapy All The Time) bc like. neither of them want to be there, neither of them rly have much in common w any other survivors, n neither of them can stand Bobby Dagen. so tht’s still like, th foundation fr how these 2 meet to me lol. the idea of them listening 2 him talk while rolling their eyes at each other n fake gagging is So Good.

I feel like Adam is just... rly open? w Eric? bc god does he understand how fucking hard it is 2 be around ppl after smth like that - maybe not to the same extent (though they DO have tht solidarity), but like. there’s only so many times u can hear “I’m so sorry tht happened/I can only imagine what u went thru” b4 yr ready 2 just tell ppl to shut the fuck up. so like, on Eric’s side of things, not getting tht frm Adam? not hearing the whole “I’m rly sorry u almost lost yr son and were locked up fr six months”? tht’s foreign territory ENTIRELY 2 him. sorry is all anyone has to say, even other survivors. Adam not saying sorry n instead being like “well I’m glad yr still around” is kind of what makes tht decision in Eric’s head like, yes, I think I want 2 get to know this dude. He Gets It.

n Adam is just patient too. letting Eric come 2 him, making sure he knows he’s there, tht sorta thing, bc regardless of how much he likes Adam, being around ppl again is not smth he can just jump into. it’s a wound tht is still raw n open n aching n he needs to treat it w care instead of rubbing salt in. n Eric half expects tht to turn Adam away, esp when he sometimes goes a day w no communication, but it doesn’t n he’s just sorta like ??? bc Eric never rly... saw some1 making tht kind of accommodation fr him, never expected some1 to understand it. tht’s another region I feel they’re very similar in - contact, sometimes, can b very very hard, even over text. if they don’t speak all day, tht’s okay - they send each other “i’m okay” texts n th other person responds w “good” n tht’s fine. Adam provides compromises when Eric never even knew tht was a possibility. it’s good.

things progress kinda slowly but not in a bad way. they’re just kind of getting used 2 each other - both of them have been alone fr so long, having some1 in their lives tht they give a shit abt n who gives a shit abt them is smth they’re both navigating. fr Eric, it’s being around some1 consistently after his trap. fr Adam, it’s actually having a friend who doesn’t make him feel like shit + having some1 he can definitively say is there. sometimes its easier 2 sit in comfortable silence than it is to force a convo neither of thm rly have the energy fr. sometimes just being in a room together is enough. tht’s smth they both notice - tht it’s like. they find it easy 2 be around each other. which is SO foreign to both of thm so they’re just kinda feelin it out?

n again like u’ve written b4, I also feel one of th turning points is when Eric calls Adam abt his hair + Adam shaves it fr him in his bathroom. tht’s th point where they’re both like “oh, I rly care abt this person.” bc it’s three in th fucking morning, Adam didn’t even have 2 pick up his phone or even answer when he saw it was Eric. but he did, bc he cares, bc he wants to help, n Adam’s just kinda freaking out internally too bc it’s been a looong time since he’s felt tht way abt some1 - he just wants Eric 2 be okay. n it’s then tht he’s kinda like, coming 2 terms w th fact that he truly cares abt someone who he can say without a doubt cares abt him too and it’s just like. oof. ESP when Eric sleeps over bc again, it’s early as fuck, and isn’t it so much easier 2 just have him stay? isn’t it easier fr Adam to make space fr Eric in his bed n home n heart? n Eric actually doesn’t tell Adam abt this later, but tht night he sleeps over after Adam shaves his hair? it’s th best he’s slept in fucking weeks.

I feel like after tht they’re a LOT more comfortable w each other - not tht they weren’t b4; I mean in th sense tht when they’re not doing too great, they’ll reach out 2 each other rather than bottling it up n dealing w it alone. Adam comes over w CDs he likes bc he can’t talk abt it but he doesn’t want 2 be by himself n they sit in Eric’s living room together in comfortable silence. sometimes Eric sings 2 him. they both find tht it helps. Eric becomes more accustomed 2 accepting help when he knows he needs it + Adam offers - dimming th lights n staying close by to keep him frm getting another migraine, having th TV on but w the sound down low enough tht it doesn’t feel like some1′s hitting him over th head w too-loud dialogue, getting things fr him on th days tht his nerve pain flares up n he’s mostly confined 2 his bed. they’re there fr each other. this is what friendship looks like fr them, two Jigsaw survivors who understand each other better than any1 else ever could.

another huge step fr them is like, th first time Adam offers 2 help w Eric’s rashes. I feel like, even as they grow closer, tht’s still not smth he’s vocal abt/comfortable showing often, something he’s ashamed of bc he feels like it’s gross n he doesn’t want 2 like. make Adam deal w that. but like during one of their sleepovers where Adam cuts his hair fr him n Eric’s got his shirt off he just. grabs the ointment he knows Eric keeps in th cabinet above the sink n while Eric’s still sitting w his back to him, he wordlessly begins tending 2 the rash spread along Eric’s shoulders n his neck n back, n Eric just. freezes. Adam doesn’t say anything, just does it fr him, n Eric kinda. Breaks Down a lil bit. like he just starts silently sobbing bc Adam doesn’t have 2 do this. he doesn’t have to help him w one of th things Eric hates most abt his own body. he could think it’s Gross. but he doesn’t think it’s gross n he doesn’t mind touching it and he’s so gentle when applying the ointment n then when he’s done he just kind of leans against Eric’s back bc He Knows. he reaches around front n grabs one of Eric’s hands n just sits there w him while he cries it out, holding his hand 2 say I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere, n that is MAJOR fr Eric. and honestly? tht’s kind of th first time he Rly becomes aware of “oh fuck I love him.” (Adam too, ngl)

basically, the way it starts is a shared experience, smth no one else can rly say they have, an understanding based on tht shared experience. giving each other space until they begin inviting each other in. care, patience, “I’m here.” re-learning th feeling of mutual concern. somewhere along th way, it turns into love, and somehow falling into tht is just as easy.

Eric + baking:

YES I love this hc!! this is smth he picked up during his time btwn jobs during th earlier stages of recovery (but After meeting Adam/connecting w Art) bc he needed smth to do n was just sorta like, “well I guess this works huh?” n like. it was def a learning curve bc Eric can cook, relatively well/at least okay, but baking is a entirely different matter. at frst he was kinda discouraged when things didn’t turn out th way he hoped they would, but w gentle guidance on Art’s side n enthusiastic encouragement frm Adam, he stuck w it n has gotten pretty good as a result!! his fave things 2 make r peanut butter cookies (he does a little design on th top w a fork n both Adam + Art r like Oh My God That’s Adorable) + th aforementioned carrot cake cupcakes!! frosting is usually homemade n it’s usually cream cheese! he makes his own frosting fr cakes n stuff too (Constantly has 2 tell Adam to “keep yr hands off of th frosting/batter/dough! we’re not gonna have any left!!!” even tho tht Doesn’t stop him).

he makes rly good banana bread too! tht one was a lil harder 2 learn but he’s honestly pretty proud of it now. it’s so funny bc Adam typically doesn’t like stuff like tht but if Eric made it? oh it’s Amazing. (he’s like tht w Art’s cooking too kjdfhjs partially bc he is a Disaster in th kitchen, but also bc That’s His BF/Best Friend!!!)

if some1 is feeling particularly shitty he takes requests (Adam usually wants brownies + Art is partial 2 peanut butter cookies but w chocolate chips too) n it’s just a nice lil thing he can do 2 help, which is smth he Always wants to do. he also stress bakes tho so sometimes his bfs have 2 just kinda like check in n make sure he’s doing okay. but! yeah baking is smth he enjoys + is relatively good at!!

William/Mallick dynamic:

yr right I haven’t thought abt this dynamic much but I Am Now!!!

I feel like at his core, William is def a caretaker. Mallick, 2 me, is someone who is just wholly unfamiliar w being cared for. so like, at the Very Least, they’re both dating Adam + Lawrence, right? they spend a lot of time around each other. plenty enough time fr William 2 pick up on this. it just kinda. makes his heart hurt, bc he sees the unease in Mallick’s eyes every time one of thm performs even th smallest acts of kindness fr him - not bc he doesn’t appreciate it/doesn’t want it, but because it’s more that he feels like he doesn’t deserve it. n William Sees That and is just like. I Need U To Know You’re Loved.

they’re comfortable w each other, of course they are! they’re friends, good friends, who happen 2 be dating th same people! who go to bed together at night n wake up w each other in th morning. it’s love, they know tht, but Mallick still always looks so surprised when William makes waffles fr him fr breakfast. William cares.

n Mallick can kinda feel it, and he’s not resistant 2 it, but he’s definitely on edge abt it a little. but William also just has this air abt him that Mallick finds it hard to stay keyed up in, so it doesn’t rly take long fr Mallick to at least be at peace w William’s attention. but the moment he starts to really fathom it is during one of those days he can’t get himself 2 relax n is just shaking out on the couch, knees drawn up to his chest n his arm wrapped around thm, just kinda staring down at th carpet n just Not having the energy to get himself out of his own head. Lawrence + Adam r at work n Eric is taking a quick nap so it’s just Mallick n William.

so Mallick is sitting there spiraling n his breaths r coming out a little fast n William just sits down beside him, a mug of warm tea tht he sets down on th coffee table fr a moment, n he just rests a hand on Mallick’s shoulder. doesn’t say anything, just sort of like. offers tht bridge, opens tht avenue. n Mallick is like This Close to just breaking entirely, but what rly does it is when William just swipes his thumb over his shoulder n squeezes. n Mallick rly DOES break down, almost ugly-sobbing and wheezing, n somehow he ends up w his face in William’s neck, pretty much curled into his side, n tht’s when it truly hits him how much William cares abt him too. tht there are Several People who hold tht kind of room fr him in their hearts n lives. William didn’t even have 2 say anything fr Mallick to understand that, to know it as truth. n tht’s like, one of th events tht actually leads Mallick to building up tht self-esteem, knowing that.

n after tht happens, Mallick is a little less reluctant abt accepting William’s (+ everyone else’s!) help, at least some of the time. like Mallick will catch himself digging his fingers a lil too harshly into th stump of his arm (I’m w u on 10 Pints resulting in at least a partial amputation - like what was tht little scar in 3D???) n then he’ll feel William’s hand cover his n gently curl around his palm 2 be like “I’m not gonna say anything, but I see you, it’s okay,” n his grip relaxes. Eric will notice he’s working himself up too much n he’ll reach out n take one of his hands while he’s pacing + laces their fingers together so tht Mallick has to pause a moment n then he’s able to breathe. Lawrence stumbles across him in th midst of a panic attack n Mallick finds himself breathing easier when Lawrence takes one of his hands, places it over his chest + his heart, n breathes w him. Adam holds him when he jolts awake frm a nightmare. lil things like tht.

one of their fave things to help them both de-stress is they’ll lay in bed n William will read out loud to Mallick, who has his head on his chest n is listening but doesn’t have to put too much energy into keeping up, bc it’s mostly abt being close + having smth to fill the silence tht neither of them feel particularly comfortable in anymore. sometimes Mallick falls asleep n it honestly makes William rly happy bc not only is Mallick relaxed enough to actually close his eyes, he also trusts William enough to fall asleep around him, trusts him during a time he’s at his most vulnerable. it’s not uncommon fr Lawrence to get home frm work to find th two of them curled up against th pillows, sometimes both asleep or just Mallick while William continues reading silently and brushes his fingers thru Mallick’s hair. Adam def has a pic of them like tht somewhere, hung up on th cork board Art had bought specifically fr those kinds of photos. it’s smth easy tht doesn’t really require much energy + has the added bonus of just being close to n held by someone u love n who loves u.

and they help each other. sometimes William has a rly hard time looking at himself, the days where his guilt sits heavy in his chest n doesn’t seem 2 want to anywhere, n Mallick will just sit w him outside on th porch swing and just Be There bc it’s like. “I’m here, I want to b here, Jigsaw was wrong, you are not a terrible person, u did what u could w what u had and I love you,” in a single action. I think William also struggles, like u’ve mentioned tht Eric does, w th guilt of what happened + feeling like it was his fault. so Mallick sitting w him, their shoulders brushing, fr William it’s like, if he was truly as awful a person as John seemed 2 think he was, wld Mallick be this close? wld Mallick willingly lay down beside him some nights n kiss him good morning? wld he kiss him again on th cheek after he makes a fresh pot of coffee + pancakes? n William knows tht Mallick wouldn’t keep himself so close if John was right, so it’s like. proof of tht. n tht means a lot to William. sometimes tht’s all he needs.

they don’t have 2 deal w their struggles alone. they’re both surrounded by ppl who love them n want to see them do well - it’s only natural they feel tht way abt each other, too.

Exactly! Crestoria is not the only game they don't really keep tabs with. A while ago i played a saint seiya game by them and it had many many issues. If you cannot have multiple games with quality than please don't. Is bad for us and the employees, those poor people must be going crazy :c

I feel kinda bad for aegis just being a punching bag for jokes and Yuna just being there to look pretty, they have a lot of potential for the story. Like you said Yuna had a great point and a good reflection moment but whatever eh? Aegis too, I felt his story like a punch on the gut because I tend to be like him and the queen, but again, whatever...

Y'ALL... ik for a while too the phantom tower was Waaayyy too difficult but i think they nerfed it back to normal considering i can now clear thru level 40 at least :/ but overall the game is just. geared towards ppl who drop fucktons of cash on it. if you look at the ppl in the top 3 in arena rn? you KNOW they've spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on this game. what the fuck.

also minor gripes are just...they don't add very many new units anyway, compared to like even asteria, and i get that there's effort for the whole models or w/e but...i mean if rays can do it... and i don't mean that in the rate that banners are released, bc those are...kind of annoyingly often as of late (looking @ all the crestoria cast alts) but the fact they're only for 1 or 2 charas who are Only ssrs, and it genuinely makes r and sr stones and sr charas just...obsolete and useless imo? like i genuinely have EVERY sr AND r full awakened/ascended which. is probs partly due to the drop rates being Absolute Garbage, but thank god they implemented a pity system, right? ...right? Please let me know if this @ u 8 times and sorry if it did.  I will reply under this readmore but i love this enthusiasm! I like discussing this stuff so if u want keep it coming. I wanna understand deca dence better and i think i will by sharing ideas w other ppl. 

I think kabu and minatos relationship  is as good as it is because theres clearly a lot of mutual love and respect between them even when they don’t understand each other and thats why minato still runs after him when he hears kabu going suicide mission lets go baby. I think its interesting that minato was like ready to lie down and accept getting mass scrapped until he hears kabu go im about to be hilarious and hes like actually living and staying alive sounds great actually forget what i said about it being over.   you are so right about kabu and trust and natsume. I will always cherish episode 5 where kabu gives this big rousing speech about how natsume inspired him and saved his life and minatos there like ..who? ..what?? I think they may not be used to hiding things from each other. Also I think them drifting apart mirrors natsume and feis drifting apart tho I think while feis the instigator on that side kabus more on his side and minato like natsume is like wondering what in da world is going on. I think someone else wrote about this better than I can.

I do think minato does know kabus severely depressed because theres this line in ep 4 where he puts his hand on kabu and says like you’ve toiled enough at that awful job. and also in episode 11 when he and kabu talk and kabu says he was in a similar place as minato now in that he was waiting every day to be scrapped minato has no reaction until kabu says but that bug saved me. I think he knows kabus very depressed but he does not know how to address it cuz the system never gives either of them the tools or options for it. Though also I feel the system discourages meaningful relationships between the cyborgs so I think what minato and kabu have is likely pretty rare. Kabu donetello and turkey also fought together for a long time but turkey turns on donetello in a second even tho they fought together, he was his number two, and they were in prison together, and were pretty much all they got and donetello kills him in turn. I also think minato probably knew because he’s empathetic. Like I’m not sure about compassion but he’s very good at understanding where other ppl are and how to meet them in the middle so both parties get something they want. That’s how he got all the gamers to collect the old deca dence parts. Not by cashing in on ppl doing the right thing but by framing it as the final mission. He gets his lgbt community center coworkers for fight with him one last time by appealing to their sense of duty. He got the system to put kabu in jail instead of getting scrapped when Mikey got scrapped for a lesser offense. The list goes on. A tangent but I think the fact he acknowledges the living conditions of the humans are gonna get worse if nothing’s done even tho he’s apathetic at best towards them shows even when the system tries to mold the cyborgs into the roles it wants, sometimes the traits they have just keep on going despite themselves. I’m gonna stop myself before I go into jill and this theme but I’m gonna talk about it someday. So I think its more likely than not he knew but he didn’t know how to navigate around it also because it’s heavily implied he’s going thru the same thing and I think kabu might genuinely have no idea Bc kabu lacks empathy but his heart... is huge. When he hears minato express his feelings of not knowing what he wants he instantly tries to reach out and explain minatos not alone in what he feels. This is why they’re good foils. while kabu moves past where he was in the start where he states he does not intend to oppose the system and his compliance while also trying to do the bare minimum drives him to suicide, and finds the willpower and a reason to live and rebel against the system through his connection to other people (first natsume , he hangs out w kurenai sometimes too, and then with the jail robots). Meanwhile minato whos stuck in his literal ivory tower (it’s a Metaphor) never makes any of these connections. It’s the irony of kabu working at a armor repair job giving him some ability to connect w others vs minatos higher position isolating him from everyone else. I think kabu living amongst the ppl he harmed drove him to give up on life quicker, while minato being far apart shielded him from rlly having to see the effects of his actions I think he was headed a lil slower in the same direction. I think we’re led to believe minatos okay where he is but I think towards the end it’s clear minato has spent most of the series also in a bad place. I think he views things very similarly to kabu in that he wants to use what power he does have to protect the ppl he cares about similar to how initially kabu tried to just convince natsume to quit several times and he was like whatever at the rest of the humans who are natsumes comrades dying but he chooses to put it all on the line and try for some systemic change when he sees natsumes determination to fight. Also I think minato holds very little loyalty to the system cuz he doesn’t only like breaks 1000 rules for kabu (the hypocrisy) but he also looks the other way a lot. For example, when he overheard the top rankers talk about limiters he’s like I’ll pretend I don’t hear it also turn on private mode next time and he doesn’t berate them for considering cheating. Also donetello has been using an illegal avatar to climb to S rank again (isn’t it interesting that even after the ranked system is abolished something similar took its place). And his avatar looks the same as it did when minato worked with the guy. There’s probably like not that many ppl in s rank. And he calls himself donetello. Minato knows he’s supposed to be in jail but does he tell anyone? He’s like well.. that looks like someone else’s problem if they notice *goes and vapes* it’s so funny how little minato cares but it’s also not funny Bc some of minatos cruelest actions and things he’s complicit in are born not outta malice but apathy to everything. I think it shows (tangent number 4?) how the systems use of excessive force is counter productive cuz neither minato nor kabu are willing to report anything to disrupt the order Bc neither of them think the level of punishment is warranted. I also think that minato is probably the first person kabu really opens up to about why on a personal level he feels the system needs to be destroyed after Ep 7 is really interesting. It really speaks to how deep their [mutual and not platonic relationship I don’t know how to label ] is. I also think that he admits to minato that he envies human is rlly interesting and would like to hear what u have to think! I think it’s interesting that what really sets minato off is kabu saying he wants to choose for himself and also wants other cyborgs to have that freedom and I think it’s one of the few times we see minato get genuinely angry and have it not stem from worry. Tangent 5 I’m really extrapolating here but I think it’s very likely given how high up minato is that he likely knows of several cyborgs that rebelled against the system for similar reasons as kabu and knows how it ends and I think it probably feeds into his defeatist attitude. I think his role in the system must really kill whatever grasp of whatever minato has cuz he constantly has to act like it’s almost the end of the world and he’s strapped for resources all the time for like decades and decades of having to fake that type of desperation to entertain ur player base and cuz ur also on tv to entertain the general populace to distract them from their soul sucking jobs. I think that’s gotta mess with his perception of himself and also his ability to see that struggle as real and genuine. I think that’s also gotta be hard cuz he seems like out of his whole fuck we r under attack persona he seems like he’s a lil closed off but generally chill and somewhat upbeat to ppl who know him and he just wants to be isabella from animal crossing. I got really off track here. I think what really gets me is their relationship is built on knowing each other so well and so long , and how it’s managed to survive and persist through all this tragedy. They really mutually respect and love each other and that’s why kabu let’s minato walk away from his revolution even tho it compromises everything he works for. It’s why minato ultimently accepts kabus willingness to die for a tanker even tho he really doesn’t get it at all and it means it’s goodbye forever. But it’s still not enough to save either of them. Minato can’t save kabu from trying to passively starving himself to death and I’m not sure if kabu even knows where minato is at mentally. Sometimes no matter how close u are to someone there r things u miss and things u can’t help each other with. Even tho the two resolve to fight and then die together cuz this seems like the best choice Bc the system they were born into offers no alternatives, the deca dence doesn’t even activate without the help of other ppl. I think it shows one relationship cant support all that weight. In the end it is through their bonds with other ppl that gets them to an ending where they both survive when they decided alone their only option is death. Also u are so right about the other animals existing I totally forgot ty I cannot believe I forgot about the scorpion which calls to natsumes hairstyle which is a visual gag on how natsumes a bug and how like a scorpion, although unassuming, and fucking kill u, just like how her trying to get her boss to open up eventually leads to the whole thing toppling down. I also have a lot of thoughts about natsume but I’m still thinking of them and thinking hard Bc sometimes she becomes kabus inspiration Pinterest board and I don’t like that. When she shines she really shines but it starts getting sloppy towards the end so I have to think a lil longer about it. Okay I’m done. Negatives: Piper is too big of a woman to hit the lower turnbuckle doing the cannonball, so she ended up hitting the middle... which was padded. Good ending on paper if you don’t do the equations, but poor execution. Not Piper nor KLR’s fault though.

I just saw that video of joanna newsom on my dash and. well I'd heard her name before but never heard her music and I was entranced... just put that video on repeat and then went down the rabbithole of random youtube videos of live performances....I am in love. so thank you for making that happen for me. and if u have any recommendations of like her quintessential stuff that i Must hear....i'm all ears 👀

OKAY FIRST OF ALL thank you so much for sending me this you have no idea how happy it made me. i read it out to my whole family who all rolled their eyes as a group it was great. I know EXACTLY how you feel right now bc story time story time i used to really not like jnew. seriously i didnt vibe with her at all. but then one day something just clicked into place and now i cant live without her. good intentions paving company came on shuffle and she sang ‘baayybee’ and i went oh i get it now and also im in love with you. and the ensuing first dive into the rest of her music was so much fun. 

i grew to love her in waves because i basically went album by album. and i started with have one on me which i think a lot of people consider to be her most accessible album because the songs arent crazy long and deal with pretty grounded subject matter and her voice was less comparable to lisa simpson which i know freaks ppl out when they havent Seen the Light.

When it comes to quintessential though, I think a commonly held perspective is that Ys is THE jnew album and for good reason. having a song by song listen through of Ys rly is an experience.

Okay when thinking about individual songs though i picked a couple from each of her albums and i really limited myself bc i wanted to pick everything but heres what really jumps out to me as important on each album.

But if i were to selfishly give you my personal favourites (other than the ones already listed up there) id nudge you towards these as well:

Ys street band EP: colleen (VERY special song i have a tattoo of it lol)

Since you joined us after seeing That One Live Version of Baby Birch you should check out this playlist where im slowly collecting the canon of the best live baby birch performances and THIS PLAYLIST that is just my all time favourite live jnew performances in basically chronological order from 2004 to just a few months ago. sometimes her harp skills r crazy sometimes her voice hits just right sometimes the song just whips total ass with a full band behind it. I also rec this live album very very much.

ANYWAY what i really truly believe is that shes an artist that keeps giving. every other week a different song takes top spot in my life and i carry it around with me like a locket around my neck until something else comes along and captures my new mood. Right now i cant put monkey and bear down its the only thing i wanna listen to. PLEASE update me on what youre listening to and enjoying!! i feel the same way about kolo (ksoo solo). at the beginning of the year there were rumors hed be in a subunit called sky w chanyeol and jongin or smthn but no. idk if it's him who doesnt want it bc hes busy w acting, but ik a lot of ppl are waiting for an r&b album from him. ive been waiting for a chansoo unit since like growl era but since chanyeol is in sc now, i dont see that happening

I don't think it's that he doesn't want it, there are a lot of accounts of him saying he wants to do a solo, one time where at a fansign where a fan asked if he was doing an ost for his movie and he said sm was heavily against it, he's said a few times that he wishes he could be a part of cbx too, not to mention all the times that he's with chanyeol in the studio composing songs and writing lyrics. So i highly doubt that he doesn't want to or that he wants to just focus on acting, tbh i think most of that are words coming from non ksoo stans who would prefer him to stay away from singing so their bias could have more opportunities which is sad but fans are like that i guess 😔

All the times chanyeol or jongin said they wanted to be in a unit with ksoo definitely got my hopes up too (ive basically been waiting for a chansoo unit since i became a fan lool) but exo sc did a great job and im glad it happened because until obsession dropped what a life was my favourite album for the year

And another thing i've seen a lot is people (again non ksoo stans) saying that sm probably doesn't think his album would do well which honestly is laughable. Ksoo is arguably the most popular exo member in korea through his acting, I mention this case every time but the fact that during exolympics ksoo was one of the top trending on his own in korea (and japan) because people didn't know that private won from along with the gods was actually an idol singer, ksoo has brough exo a lot of male and older female fans through his acting too just because they were curious to know more about him.

If you combine that with the stats for that's okay, this unpromoted station song topped the charts when it was released, it stayed in the top 100 for a long time (i think months) and then if you compare it to other sm solo releases

2 of the songs above it were released months before it and were part of full promoted albums (with music shows and interviews etc) and the last song was released a few weeks after and was an ost for an extremely popular drama for the year (plus taeyeon is a digital beast so its to be expected lool). I'm not saying this to put others down because they fully deserve the figures they have but my point of it is to show that if ksoo can get these kind of figures on the other artists levels for a single unpromoted song with an mv that doesn't even have him in it then imagine what he could have done with a full album and a bit of promotion 🤷🏽‍♀️ plus so many idols and other korean celebrities have all recommended his song, said that ksoo is the idol they would want to collab with and when describing the song mentions the lyrics (that ksoo wrote) and ksoos voice as the main reasons they like the song so the boys got talent but we knew that 😂

i always go on a super long rant with these and i'm sorry to my followers for this but i feel like ksoos solo is LONG overdue, he is a MAIN vocalist yet has hardly ever been treated that way by sm (don't even ask me about the list of how many solo, collab and unit songs ksoo has released compared to the other members...it makes for extremely depressing reading and i wish i never looked)

but also i'm mad at a lot of other member stans disregarding ksoo as a main vocalist too and trying to use the excuse of him acting as a reason for why he shouldn't sing and especially knowing that their reasons for saying this are really selfish, they should support every member instead of trying to push one to the side

bottom line: sm better give ksoo his solo album when he returns or i will personally find lee soo man to yell at him
