u know that tumblr post that's 'i would know my mutual no matter their url or icon change?' or how soulmates find each other no matter what?

my thing is reading something and (or watching something) and realizing it's loosely based on twlight!human fic.

it took me like 400pgs in the epub to realize the book protags are based on edward and bella if they were academics and also alice is her roommate who watches obscure movies.

jack is like 'i can't tell who you are or what ur thinking' and of course elsie's like 'he hates me...why....' elsie having this need to take care of everyone and having a shitty mom....just like bella...jack being rich but feeling like the black sheep of his perfect family....edward cullen.

things based on twilight will always find me. it's a blessing and a curse.

#this is literally the only hazelwood book i wanted to read and i had been putting it off #but i was drawn to it...just like edward and wanting to suck bella's blood or something #also there's like a LOT of twilight references--its the protags fave movie and i was like 'hey its mine too'#but then the references didnt stop #and i was like 'wait'#protag loves bella\alice and i was like 'is cece her alice....' (she is)'#and then jack said something that put it all together for me that he was the edward stand it #he tried to make certain decisions for her bc 'it was for her own good' and i was like 'edwardo????is that u but blonde???'#i am not wrong.#he also said he wasnt gonna fuck her which in quick retrospect is when i should have known he was edward #anyway its still a solid 4 book

reminder to myself and whoever else needs it to stop feeding the machine. I'm aware I'm yelling into the void but look at the past couple years of games. They're pushing $70, $80, $100!!! for games that are completely unfinished, unpolished, and sometimes completely unplayable. Yes the game showcases were cool. The doom game looks sick and I don't even go there, but they're shaking the shiny keys to distract you and get you swept up in the hype. They're going to push so much fomo marketing to get you to jump for it full price.

Wait for sales. Wait and buy a used copy. Hell, wait a couple days (even hours!!!) after launch and reviews and breakdowns will start coming out. Our game backlogs are already packed, and mr big AAA studio can deal with some of us waiting to see if they actually delivered what was promised.
