Fitz adjusted his cuffs beneath his tuxedo jacket and watched while Jemma finished getting ready.

He didn’t have much love for these things, but one of the major perks was being able to see his wife dress up. Jemma often made the effort to dress nicely, but these galas hosted by the new S.H.I.E.L.D. were an entirely different kind of occasion. It means she put extra effort in from head to toe and he was granted a front row seat.

Happy Mother's Day (and baby shower!) Libby! I hope you enjoy this bit of fluff as you get ready for lucky #3!

Fitz has been in love with Jemma from a distance for ages. He has a million things he wants to tell her - lovely, poetic, romantic things - but every time he opens his mouth around her the words leave him. So instead he finds another outlet for his energies - writing love notes for men online. It started innocently enough when his friend Hunter needed to impress a girl and Fitz’ messages had done just the trick, but word quietly got out and before long Fitz had a nice little side hustle going helping hapless men woo their online paramours. It all seems so easy, until one day he encounters the one situation he never thought he would: being asked to seduce Jemma Simmons herself.

Now he finally has the opportunity to tell Jemma exactly how he feels but has to watch as she falls for some other man. Another man who’s using his words to win her over. Will he be able to continue to hold his tongue, or will he finally get the nerve to come clean with Jemma for real?

Fitz stood under the warm spray, his eyes closed as the water rained down over him and loosened his stiff muscles. They’d been going at a break-neck pace for days and despite getting slightly over his usual four hours of sleep, he was still dog tired. Everything hurt and all he really wanted were a few days off. Not that he’d be getting that any time soon.

He pressed a hand against the cool tile and leaned forward in an attempt to get the water where he needed it most: his neck and upper back. He’d just about hit the right spot when he heard the shower curtain rattle open, followed by a wash of cold air along his back. His eyes jerked open and he turned to see his wife slipping into the stall behind him. His lips twitched upward and he turned to get his arms around her.

“Mornin’,” he murmured as he pulled Jemma close and dropped a kiss on her lips. “I didn’t mean t’ wake y’.”

“You want to try something you saw online?”

His cheeks went red and he glanced down at his toes. For all his confidence in the bedroom, Fitz could be adorably shy when it came to discussing it. She wasn’t sure why. She wasn’t surprised in the least that he’d watched porn. She had a few favorite online aids herself.

“Y-yeah?”

Jemma arched a brow and nibbled her lower lip to keep from smirking too broadly. She scooted closer to him on the mattress, pressing against him from knee to hip to shoulder as she ducked her face to better look him in the eye.

“You know I’d never laugh at you, right?” Fitz nodded. “So why won’t you say what you want?”

“It, ah--” His cheeks somehow blazed even brighter. “I don’t know. It’s just not easy t’ come out and say t’ your partner, ‘Hello, please sit on my face so I can eat y’ out.’”

The first time they made love was done in a rush.

That couldn’t be helped. Just coming off a mission, knowing Mack would be coming back soon, and having the team waiting to hear from them meant that they had to hurry. Fitz still cherished every moment of it, and was proud of the scratches Jemma had left on his chest and shoulders by the time they were done.

But the second time… That was what he had always imagined the first time would be.
