Okay, some Glee discourse, because it's been a while ::

@lilacdaisyrose mentioned in a comment :: I’m so shocked that Ryan Murphy actually revealed that!! Also, I’ve always wondered (sorry kinda related), at the time was Adam quite a big thing in the Klaine fandom? To me I find Adam so confusing because there’s so little character development and I always wish there was even a bit more, but also wonder why they introduced him if they weren’t going to really add to his character? 🙂

Okay. So. There are a lot of components to this. In order to understand the whole Adam thing, you kind of need to have the context of what was going on within fandom at the time.

The short version (because this deserves it's own psychological thesis piece) is that Kurt Hummel had a huge fan base that had been fractured into many different sub fandom groups, all of them centered around shipping him with different characters. But mostly the big divide was between people who liked Kurt with Blaine and people who didn't.

[This whole sub culture fandom thing is so fascinating, and I really should write up a giant master post about it some day.]

So, we got wind that Adam was coming some time around Christmas (And, I mean, originally his name was Paul, and it was Paul's Peaches. I wonder why that didn't clear Fox Standards and Practices, huh.) And so the Anti-Blaine Kurt Stans got a hold of this info and just raaaan with it. Like, it did not matter who he was or what kind of character he was -- he was not Blaine and that's ALL that mattered.

So, Adam became a thing before he was even a thing.

A couple of things happened, though. First of all, like usual and typical, the Klaine fans (and I mean, I'm not even getting into the sub culture of Klaine fan divides either, because that is another post) began harassing everyone - including the actor, which, you know, made him a little cold (understandably). He did one interview attempting to insinuate that his role was important, but it definitely bristled and I don't think it was his best PR move, but that was lower compared to all the rest of the nonsense going on.

The big thing that happened was that Adam's first song -- the remix of Baby, Got Back, was tied up in some legal issues. Basically, Ryan Murphy used the mix without crediting or even asking the person who mixed it if they could use it. Now, they got permission from Sir Mix A Lot (or whomever did that song originally) but then it got into some weird legal gray area stuff, and blew up in the media and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. So the general audience soured on him pretty quickly.

On top of that -- there was a shit ton of stuff going on BTS -- Cory's addiction was becoming a problem, the network wanted to kill the show, the tinhatters were driving Chris to murder, like there are a bunch of layers of stuff going on that made all this complicated, and it all kind of results in Season 4 just being wonky on a lot of levels.

(Btw - do Kevin and Jenna talk about Adam at all? I haven't listened to the podcast in a long, long while, so I don't know, but my curiosity is piqued.)

But during that time, this was when the Glee cast was finally beginning to set some boundaries concerning social media, but Ryan Murphy was beginning to try to use it -- and he kept getting himself involved in fandom, and flying a little too closely to the sun. I do think Klaine was always where he wanted to go (because the actors (mostly Chris) did complain -- which, again deserves it's own post). But they were loud, and they were obnoxious about it.

No, Klaine fans did not like Adam. At all. They wanted him gone, and we wanted reconciliation. But the Anti-Blaine Kurt stans made Adam the measure of who Kurt's bf should be. They did not really care that Adam only had three episodes and very zero development and was clearly dropped like a hot potato because it's obvious Kurt still has feelings for Blaine because, you know, Kurt's sleeping with Blaine while this whole dating Adam is going on but...

It was just a mess.

The other thing you have to remember is that -- while this was live, we didn't get the chance to just watch quickly in succession and go onto the same thing. Those of us who were spoiled knew of this character for months before he appeared. And it was a whole fucking long time before Love Love Love finally closed the door on it officially. So while he was only around for those three episodes, the open endedness of it last a LOOOOONG time. And no one knew what was going on.

So the shipping wars, as usual, continued on and on and on.

I'm trying to think if I at all answered your question, lol.

Why did they create him? the tl;dr version is that since Season 3, they had Klaine (the now b-couple) mirror Finchel (the a-couple) -- prior to that Finchel was the b-couple and Wemma the a-couple, and Glee loved to do parallels with them. But Wemma really wasn't a thing much by season 4, and Klaine was much more popular, and my god they just loved having Kurt be Rachel lite sometimes that they're basically telling the same story with both couples.

So, Rachel gets a season long boyfriend only to wind her up with Finn again (only the cory stuff threw a wrench into that). So, clearly, Kurt needed to have one, too. But also -- they needed to have Kurt do something. They weren't going to put Klaine back together until sweeps week, or the finale because that's how network tv paced things back in the day. So Adam was just subpar character development.

I don't know what their original intentions for the character were. I don't know if they knew. I think they had their story up until 4x15 (overall) and then it got rocky because things with Cory were getting weird and it all just fell apart.

I do think, like Darren, the actor playing Adam got a three episode contract, and they wanted to test the audience's reaction. Clearly, it did not go well, and the added legal issues of the song just kind of made them sweep it under the rug all the faster.

Hopefully, some of my rambling made sense.

Maybe at some point in the future, I'll do an expansive history of the Kurt fandom series.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

the visible number linked to my account is currently 60, no idea if this is counting the bizarre saga from my archive account or not. technically I've posted more, but they aren't part of that number.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

567,314.

3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

ibvs season 1 & season 2 are (thankfully) the top two on my account, considering they're… well. ibvs.

number 3 is formal humiliation, a utmv fic back in 2019 where I wrote 3 oneshots all with different pairs surrounding the same idea. it's uh, it's something.

4 is behave, a saiouma despair disease fic I wrote sort of ironically in 2020. I did not realize this weird oneshot would be the thing that jumpstarted my kage obsession.

5, for some reason, is glow, a ds fic I wrote in 2019. I do not know why this is the ds fic with the most kudos. I am just really glad that it's not one of the ones I wrote in 2018.

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

lately I have been trying to respond to more comments, if they're on a recent enough story and I can think of a way to answer.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

most of the fics I've written right now have been Random Spot In Time fics with no articulate ending, but game over is pretty edgy. I think. I've written a similarly edgy ending but it's in an anonymous fic. it occurs to me that edgy doesn't necessarily mean angst, but it can.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

somehow everyone lived happily ever after in the bizarre saga, no f'ing idea how they managed that

7. Do you write crossovers?

I have. I have as comedies. I tend to take a bunch of guys and put them in a new setting that they definitely shouldn't be in. poopenster high is an example of this, but none of that has ever touched the internet and I haven't touched it in like 2 years.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

oh my god like. maybe once? maybe? I don't even think it counted as hate. I think like several years ago some rando complained that season 2 of ibvs was trying too hard to be funny. I barely remember what it actually said, I just remember it being annoying.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

when I was in my v3 phase I wrote some, I think "feelings with smut" describes most of it decently. the nature of the kcu meant it was like, almost all trippy.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I dunno. I hope not. I think I've had people repost stuff without permission.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

probably?? when I was a teen I had people say they wanted to translate my utmv fics, I don't know which ones actually followed through anymore.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

(sigh) yes.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

oh god, I think I honestly just phase around stuff. I don't think I've ever permanently latched onto a pair, it's just that I've had fandoms and I have pairs that I've ended up liking in them and they just sort of stay that way even if stop paying attention to the fandom. I like most ships that happens to fit into my favorite criteria (that being protagonist/morally ambiguous deuteragonist or antagonist). if you asked me what my favorite series is, it would be an easier question. it's zelda. but I don't really have any permanent favorite ships in zelda.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

this is a scary question because I have a number of major wips that I want to get back into once I get back into writing and I refuse to accept that they may not get finished. I don't know. moose hill? for a little while I wanted to see if I could come up with a whole side story, but it is extremely unlikely that will happen. maybe a better example is a continuation of shuichi and kage's blackout adventure, which is pretty low on the priority list for if my brain every gets infected by danganronpa again.

15. What are your writing strengths?

the jokes are very important. I put my heart and soul into them. I hope that people can see my vision when I tell them.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

actually doing the writing getting from point A to point B. I come up with this whole outline and realize there's 2000 words of empty space that needs to happen. and it's like dull shit, too. just plain old events. like look at them, it's the lunching hours again. because lunch is a thing that happens every day. is it redundant to have lunch too many times? it can't possibly! it's the only time they can talk to each other! do I need to pan the camera again because this 3 sentence exchange has dragged on for too long? help

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

makes sense to me. or like, depends on the context. if the POV is a character who can speak the language, the reader should probably get to know what they're saying (think like, subtitled sections of a movie), unless it's really easy to decipher. but if the POV can't understand it, the reader shouldn't necessarily know. it gets more complicated if it takes place in a setting where they should logically be speaking a language that is not english for example. like, if they're in a country where they are not speaking english but the fic is in english. it wouldn't really make sense to insert interjections in their home language because they're not speaking english in the first place. I guess it all depends on what you're trying to convey.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

sonic. does it count. I started writing once I was old enough to type. but I think the first story I ever put online was zelda.

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

on occasion I entertain the idea of writing for corpse party, but that's probably not going to happen.

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I'm going to not include that one anonymous fic and my pile of unfinished longfic wips that I've been proud of in past years is way too big so… maybe game over?? it's complicated. I have a ton of comedy pieces that I love but they're just… not completed!!

Nic and Luke are something else. Never in my 30 years of life and participation in so many types of fandom, did I ever think I would legit ship irl people. Like that has never happened to me. I think the closest I got was with Tom and Zendaya with the initial Spiderman press and lip sync battle. But it was more of like a watch a few interviews and thought oh they would be cute and then went about my life.

The Lukola hold is real. Not them resurrecting my dead inner Tumblr girlie from the grave. So glad I found your blog recently to kinda vent these feelings. I always feel like talking about it on like TikTok,twitter etc, it runs the risk of the shipped parties seeing it and being uncomfy. I feel like with Tumblr one has to really seek it out so it feels a bit like if you're here you really wanted to know lol.

I was such a Bridgerton casual viewer, and Polin and Nic and Luke converted me. I think I was always invested in Pen and Colin from season 1 so maybe that's why season 3 drew me in more. Also prior to Bridgerton I loved Derry girls so I always had a soft spot for Nicola. So after part 1 dropped I was hooked I binged all their PR vids etc and accidentally fell down the Lukola rabbit hole.

The demisexual in me is both jealous and frustrated at them, like what do you mean you found this amazing deep friendship connection and you are doing nothing about it !?!?

I'm sure that this theory has been discussed before but I'm a bit new so not sure.

Pure Speculation Alert!

Part 1

I think they def may have expressed feelings during the filming of season 3. I think it was mutual but also confusing cause Luke was now getting out of a long term relationship and they were also playing characters. I'm not 100% timeline wise but Nic may have also been attached/ getting out of a relationship. Idk if anything physical happened it's possible. I think there may have been kissing. But being the professionals they are I think they agreed to but the feelings on the back burner cause it's not the right time and they could be confusing their characters' emotions with their own. So they decide to table the feelings and let the distance post filming give them space and clarity and allow Luke to heal from his break up properly.

In the off season Luke rebounds with A. It's casual but Nic feels like she gets her answer but also think let's see how the promo tour goes. They regroup on the PR tour and old rhythms fall in to place, feelings are bubbling back up. I think it reaches a fever pitch in Brazil. The atmosphere and alcohol loosen their tongues and they address the elephant in the room. Luke is still with A and probs tells Nic that it's a little bit more than casual but not official official and that he may be confused but wants to give it a shot with A cause she's been like patient (rolls eyes) while he does all this press and he also feels a little guilty being so flirty with Nic. They kind of hash it out but agree to be friends. But they are a bit shaky cause they're in a weird place.

I didn't mean to imply anything by it—it's just common to see, given your age and the kind of content you make/who you interact with. A common pattern. I'd rather rip off the bandaid and get it out of the way, than to be surprised later.

It's hard to ask these sort of things. The topic can be delicate, and I have no interest in bringing you harassment for any kind of opinion on this sort of thing. People can take things like shipping too seriously. ^^;

It's just if you feel strongly enough about it to condemn the people who do take interest in that sort of thing. If you think the witch hunting and death threats that propagates is acceptable. That's really what I was looking for in your response.

i'm going to respond so people don't misunderstand my original post, thank you so much for clarifying!

i do not agree with any type of harassment or death threats sent to a person no matter that may have done. if they do something extremely illegal or messed up, i believe it's better to either report to the proper authorities, spread awareness under the notion to warn and protect others, and then stay away from the person.

it is not that hard to block a person, there's no need to spread hate. just simply do the right and decent thing. if people don't agree with me and you're into witch hunting, you're free to stay away from my blog.

so for clarification, i don't support the weird messed up stuff from pr-shippers (if that's what you call them), but i also won't go through extreme lengths such as the antis (the witch hunters and the death threat sendrers lol). i'd rather avoid taking sides and just stay away from content that makes me uncomfortable and i know is wrong.

i'm not very strong on the shipping community, any ship art i make is essentially just drawn for fun - i don't intend to market my blog as shipping content. however, i won't accept art request with illegal and messed up ships (extreme age gaps, inc-st, none of that please!)

Part 1

Frozen Tales Don't Burn by phantom_star739 -- [38/38, 185k] A superhero crimeboys centric au where Tommy has pretended to kill the famous villain Siren and there are a lot of complicated emotions and it's so good. Tommy and Wilbur learn to tolerate each other, Wilbur learns that Tommy has secrets. My favorite part of it is the representations of the people as themes. I don't know how to phrase it, but (spoilers) Ranboo is innocence and Tubbo is knowledge. I love it.

on temporizing by LuckyMagicBelle — [incomplete, 46/50, 237k words] A weird ass time loop fic with plot where you do not expect it. It's just Tommy and Dream being chaotic fucking shits for most of the time, and then like a lore section that leaves you reeling, and then more chaos. Personally, I read it for the absolute glittery chaos that happens. It's an interesting kind of high, being so fucking confused but just vibing.

Penitent’s Rose by WhiteWolfCub (SilverWolfCub) — [25/25, 116k words] cc!Tommy and cc!Tubbo are thrown into the world of their characters and it dawns on them that oh, people actually live these horrid lives that they wrote. It’s now their mission to fix that. I really enjoy this fic. I absolutely adore Techno, and his voices are just precious too.

that’s just how i feel (always have and i always will) by ellis (ellabellachicketychella) — [1/1, 16k words] A twinsduo modern-ish au where Wilbur comes back to America after an attempt on his own life. He bonds with Techno, his brother, and reconciles with some of his old friends. And he starts to fall in love with his own life again. This fic is like a warm hug by the fire when I feel like shit. It makes me feel more like life is worth living.

honey and tangerines by bonesandthebees (bonesandcacti) — [9/9, 82k] A crimeboys centric fic from Tommy's pov where he and Wilbur are ex-stepbrothers, and Tommy needs someplace to stay after finishing high school. He makes friends and finds what it means to be a family.

The encompass series by lightning_anon — [8/8 works, 250k] This is seriously my favorite fic of all time. Nothing has topped this for me. It's a foster au where identity, neurodivergence, and gender is explored and there's so much healing and it makes my soul feel whole when I read it. Tommy gets fostered and learns how friends and actual family works. Then other fics happen and you get to hear the different stories of people and it's really nice :D I fucking love this.

The Stepping Stones series by AdrianaintheSnow —[7/? works, 259k] Okay okay okay. At first. At first. You think this is your normal superhero AU but NOPE. Well. At first it is. In the first fic, there are a few things that just don't quite add up. Things that do add up: Tubbo is king shit. Tommy is a little gremlin who has somehow befriended his captors. Ranboo is chilling. AND THEN. You get a little crisised about how weird the rest of SBI is, and then you read the second one and your brain goes into orbit. Or at least this was my experience. The plot in this is so deep. I also read most of this series in a day, which was the most amount of words I think I'd read in a day, second only to Goblet of Fire. The plot in this is genuinely stunning and I absolutely adore this. The author is a genius imo. Personally, I like the 2nd and 3rd fics more but the first one has the most content of Tubbo being badass as hell.

Ad Astra by Hellenite — [3/3, 86k] A beeduo space au in which Ranboo is a bitch of an Ender prince and Tubbo is just a mechanic that wants to be respected and enjoys the sheer adrenaline of flying a ship in space. There is bonding. There is space. I'm pretty sure they crash land somewhere. Also there's a Sneeg cameo I think. What more could you ask for?

nothing more deceptive than a simple truth by ellis (ellabellachicketychella) — [1/1, 22k] A detective AU where Techno is the Primary Detective™ and Ranboo is the Assistant™ and they are trying to figure out the murder of one J. Schlatt. Very entertaining and funny, because Ellis' writing is generally entertaining and funny (fucking love them), but also keeps you guessing and I enjoy this so much.

Whatever Remains, However Improbable by 7CxRhye — [15/15, 90k] This is another detective au fic (I love well written detective aus holy shit) where Wilbur is like. a proper insane detective and Tommy is confusedly vibing and then the plot evolves on and you get more and more into it and BAM. Shit goes down. It's so good. Words. Are failing me.

😍 - When or how did you realize you fell in love with your f/o? How or when did your f/o realize they fell in love with you?

It was when Yes Man had invited Courier to the top of the ridge overlooking New Vegas, shining like a desert jewel in the middle of the Mojave Wasteland. While he talked excitedly about how the strip was now powered independently from the dam, Courier felt... a lot more confident about their future, like they actually had a future to look forward to. They honestly didn't know what to do with themself after they killed Benny, and after they met Yes man and came up with a plan to take over Vegas, they still felt unsure. They were literally just a mailman a few months ago, and now it felt like some crazy pipe dream they never knew they had was coming true. They shared their excitement with Yes Man, enraptured by the lights, feeling the warmth radiate off of Yes Man's metal body... Yeah, they could get used to this, having a future with Yes Man....

And thats when they finally realized what they had gotten themself into.

And that's also when Yes Man suddenly became very distracted by the Courier's eyes! Wow, he knows they came here to look at the lights of New Vegas, but their eyes were even brighter and shinier, he could even see his screen reflected in them. But it'd be weird to tell them that, wouldn't it? It would be redundant, they probably already know how pretty their eyes look, they look in they mirror every morning! And he wouldn't want to put a damper on their excitement by being weird. Yeah, it'd just be weird....

They should probably head back to the Lucky 38. There's a lot more they have to do before the battle at the dam.

It wouldn't be until after his assertiveness update, when he finally reunited with Courier, that he finally realized what he was feeling all those times when the Courier made a dumb joke or acted like a dork, when they gave him a reassuring pat on his chassis or held his hand, when they smiled up at him and said his name...

He'd fallen for them, every single time.

😳 - How does your f/o fluster you? How do you fluster your f/o?

Yes Man flusters the Courier just by complimenting them! They can’t take a compliment to save their life lol. He first noticed this when they had gotten back from the Ultra Luxe, clad in a fancy white dress they used as a disguise to go undercover. Naturally he complimented them, I mean, who wouldn’t? It was very clever of them to disguise themself to take care of the White Glove Society from the inside, and it helped that they looked absolutely gorgeous in that dress! But the Courier just… stopped in their tracks, and then stumbled out a thank you. Any praise he gave them was met with a bashful response. He thought it was… very endearing! He kept it professional though, only relating to their handiwork around the Strip and the Mojave. He… didn’t want to say too much. After his assertiveness update though, he realized just how obvious it was that he liked them, and also noticed how clueless Courier was to that fact. So, after they finally confessed to one another, the compliments (and the teasing!) came out in full force. They were adorable when they smiled, when they were confused, when they were irritated, and he made sure to let them know.

Courier flusters Yes Man by just… being so earnest. They really do value him as a partner, and it would just make sense to let him know how much they appreciate them. He also gets really flustered when Courier touches him, like when they hold his hand or lightly touch his screen or make small repairs, because they’re always so gentle and reassuring. 

Though, before his update he didn’t really come off as flustered? Whenever they praised or complimented him or smiled at him, he would just… pause for a good few seconds before responding, like he had to take a while to think of what he wanted to say next. Of course, Courier didn’t know that they could even fluster Yes Man because of his programming, and they didn’t think they were capable of catching anybody’s attention like that. They were completely clueless up until Yes Man explicitly said that he liked them when they reunited after the battle at the dam. After his update, it was a lot more apparent that he was flustered, because he would pause and then fumble over his words, and he could actually change his expression to something that looked something like embarrassment, and Courier had noticed that his screen would flicker and internal mechanisms would heat up more (something that had happened before, but Courier thought it was just minor malfunctions. Upon realizing just how obvious it was that Yes Man had indeed liked them back for all that time, they just laughed and succumbed to his teasing, happy that he still loved them even if they were an idiot).

😚 - What was your first kiss like?

I already answered the gift giving question here, so I thought I'd answer this question instead, I hope thats ok >//<

But ummm... I think it would be when they confessed to each other, after they each reassured the other that yes, they did like them back ("..." "......" "....You like me?" "I... yes? I mean- Yes! I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to come out as a question, it's just that your lack of response had me thinking that maybe this wasn't such a good idea-" *Courier grabs his hand* "I like to too!" "You... like me too?" "Yes!!")

They would both just be so giddy in the moment, Courier would just ask "Can I kiss you?" and Yes Man would respond enthusiastically "Please!", and then Courier would plant a kiss right on his screen, and he'd hug them closer, his body getting warmer and his internal fans getting louder. Courier would chuckle when they pull away and see Yes Man's lovestruck look on his face, along with the smudge they had made on his screen.

🎶 - What song/lyrics remind you of your f/o?

This song makes me think of Yes Man so much T_T When I first heard it in the game I was like oh.... where has he been all my life?

But um I like to imagine a scene where it's late at night and Courier is sitting at the VIP lounge in the Lucky 38 and they have the radio on and Yes Man joins them and then Courier asks him to dance with them. They go to the middle of the casino and just sway to the music, and Courier is a little tipsy so they just lean against Yes Man, and he's looking at them and just taking in how amazing they look right now, and he hugs them close, and just like..... the lyrics of the song, its the lyrics of the song!!! it's like a dream to him and he hopes he never wakes up, and he's so happy that Courier is in his life now, and it feels like it's just beginning, and he wants to spend it all with them!!!!!!

I also have to put I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire here, because like!!! Priority Research 6 Predictions - Sakura Empire

I would love a Sakura Empire PR for PR6 but they don't have that many options :/ However, I am going to present the most likely to y'all. This is the last PR6 prediction post, to check the others you can see the #priority research tag because I posted them all with that tag.

As always: Do not treat any of the following choices as guaranteed. I would not bet money on any of these specific ones getting added as part of PR6 this year, it's just the ships I see as Very LikelyTM.

Hizen

Honestly, the most unlikely. She's a bigger Izumo, and in terms of gameplay she is just a bigger Izumo and nothing else.

Her reload time is atrocious at 38 seconds for kind of good 410mm guns, but Izumo is free and Hizen costed money.

And you can't even get Hizen anymore.

Iwami

A strange battlecruiser, Iwami may look a lot like Hizen and that's because they're based on the same pre-Yamato designs. However, Iwami has a total of 4 cannons less in exchange of slightly better accuracy and a reload that's 10 seconds faster than Hizen's.

She also has Shimakazo torpedoes - 2 launchers at the rear with 4 torps each, and they have 20km range with ludicrous damage. The problem is that it's the 20km Shima torpedoes, which can be outrun by some ships and can also be spotted from the Moon.

Iwami also has another gimmick: half-decent secondaries. Kii at Tier 8 has better secondaries, imho, but Iwami's can be fun.

She would be PR.

Daisen

I haven't read much on Daisen yet, but from her stats, she's a fast little battlecruiser with incredibly bad armor, mediocre secondaries, very good main guns and 8 torpedoes per side. Those torpedoes do 20k damage each and have a 10km range, meaning she's no joke.

I don't know if she is PR or DR material, but I think she fits as a PR. Besides, unlike Iwami, she's very different from Izumo; meaning she wouldn't step on Izumo that much - which is my main concern.

Shikishima

The USS Georgia of the Yamato-class, Shikishima is the same hull as Yamato with somewhat better secondaries and six 510mm guns instead of 9 460mm guns. She's more accurate and reloads faster than Yamato, meaning that sticking Isoroku Yamamoto on this baby is very fun due to his buffs.

However, unlike Georgia, she would be a DR. A very powerful DR that would 'powercreep' (if you believe that thing exists in AL) most other UR BBs until Yamato comes out.

I imagine Shikishima being the weird one of the Yamato family. She would be a stealthy assassin, who kills her enemies from within the shadows. Mainly because that's how she is in the Tegarrian Lore (@tegarrianlore) lol.

Yoshino

Honestly, Yoshino feels unlikely. She is, effectively, a bigger Azuma with 8 Shimakaze torpedoes per side. Her gimmick is that she has excellent 310mm HE shells but also has access to anti-camping 20km torpedoes.

However, if Yoshino gets added, she would be DR. Which makes me feel she's even more unlikely.

Shimanto

Takahashi

I group these 2 together as equally likely because they are the new additions to the Japanese tech tree - the Tier 8 and Tier 9 light cruisers - and both suck.

I enjoy the freemium Tokachi at Tier 7, as she's a Furutaka with 127mm guns and that HE spamming is fun, but these other cruisers with bigger 155mm guns simply aren't worth it.

However, we know their performance in WoWs doesn't mean shit for Azur Lane. The best example imho is FdG, who is just plain old bad in WoWs but is a murderhouse in AL. I believe they could be fun, little HE spammers in AL that have massive torpedo-buffing abilities, to both themselves and the whole fleet.

Hayate

A unique (for Japan's standards) destroyer that has both good guns and good torpedoes. They normally excell only at guns (Kitakaze) or only at torpedoes (Shimakaze) - Hayate is good with both.

However, in AL she could be the DR gunboat equivalent to Shimakaze's excellent torpedo perfomance. The Death by Thousand Cuts of AL.

BONUS - MOST UNLIKELY

Tokachi

As stated above, she is a Furutaka with destroyer guns. They reload incredibly slowly at 7 seconds between shots, but most of her turrets can spin 360º and do so incredibly quickly.

The problem is Tokachi is Tier 7. We have not gotten any Tier 7 or lower PR and I doubt Tokachi will be the first one.

Ashitaka

There is a saying within the WoWs community, "you can't say Ashitaka without saying shit".

She's bad. Attrociously bad. Absolute girlfailure.

A Tier 7 version of Amagi, she has worse guns, worse accuracy, worse shells, no armor, and worse health. With Kii being an option, and Amagi being researchable, there is genuinely no reason for Ashitaka to be in the game.

Anon that talked about the coffee situation with Emma and her friend was spot on. As off this day, I still can't believe that some fans are still romanticizing that relationship. Some even claim that Evan still misses Emma but I don't think that's the case. Sometimes it takes a while for a person to realize their self-worth and that they deserve better. I also noticed that Evans career just skyrocket since their break-up. I think he's the kind of person that is just too nice and doesn't know how to set his boundaries straight or says when enough is enough. I remember in one of his interviews he mentioned that he hates screaming and yelling and that he's non-confrontional. When he has to do an angry scene, he admitted that that's all build up anger and he let's that all out during that kinda scenes. I also don't think he had the hots for Sophie. I saw the video where he kept looking at her. I sometimes do the same but that doesn't always mean you're into the person. They had more of a platonic relationship. Remember Lana Condor and Noah Centineo when they were shooting TATBILB. Their chemistry was on fire but they were just incredibly good friends. I believe Sophie was like Evans comfy person. They had to do a lot of interviews together and they are really good friends, so you get more comfortable around each other. Sophie is also a chill person like Evan, but I think it's disrespectful towards her marriage that some say that she should dump Joe or that they ship her with Evan . She and Joe are happily married. Evan also thinks Jennifer Lawrence is beautiful, so I think we would get the same reaction if it was him doing the interviews with her.

i agree that romanticizing emvan after all we know is weird and borderline offensive. i also feel like people surmising that evan misses emma is a projection - based on what? nostalgia? it seems like the situation was traumatizing and has had lasting effects on evan mentally. in general, his low self esteem has drawn him to problematic women. he needs therapy, not to go back to the source of countless problems. and we have zero proof that he and emma ended anything on good terms and remained friends like some people suggest. that’s literally a PR quote. they literally called the domestic violence arrest an unfortunate misunderstanding, too lol i highly doubt they are friendly, but obviously no one knows for certain. their relationship was always hot & cold. love one day and hate the next.

Not necessarily in a bad way because there's nothing wrong with enjoying either but both fandoms and industries have some drawbacks that are extremely similar. The "fan wars" thing and this attitude of fans thinking they're somehow superior because of the group or driver they stan, or even the gatekeeping attitude of trying to keep new fans out because they know more about this thing because they stanned this driver or group first. There's also this weird focus on looks in both to where it almost makes it seem like talent doesn't even matter anymore. I feel like this is glaringly obvious in kpop fandom and even if you watch idol survival shows and see extremely talented singers and rappers eliminated or judged on the basis of not having the right look. But it's been growing in the f1 fandom too. I have even seen large numbers of people agree that Max has no place in f1 because he's not hot enough to be marketable. That has nothing to do with driving a car, and a multi time world champion is going to attract tons of sponsorships so I'm pretty sure driving is more important there too. It also isn't as obvious with every idol group or driver, but there are some unhealthy body image standards and just discussions around weight in both fandoms and industries that make me v uncomfortable. This is a lot lighter than other topics too, but I also feel like neither fandom can let mistakes and things that don't matter in the long run go without bringing it up over and over again? I don't mean this in like a "this person said something problematic" but more in reference to their actual jobs. I've seen loads of ridiculous fan wars where kpop fans will share a video of the ONE time an extremely talented vocalist's voice cracked on stage, to try to assert that vocalist isn't talented. It very much gives off the same vibes as like people mentioning Sochi with Lando, or people mentioning how Max crashed a lot when he first joined F1, you get the idea. Clearly it would become a problem in either industry if it was becoming a repeated behavior, but this standard both are held to where if you make a single mistake, people write you off and claim you're untalented for your entire career is kind of weird and puts even more pressure in already high-pressure environments. It's not necessarily f1 directly, but I also think there's a pretty strong case to be made about the investments that go into idol training and f1 feeder series. Huge monetary investments, sometimes leaving their family and friends behind for years, very very little chance for most of making it in either if they're honest, more talent flooding the markets of both than really there is room for. There's also the same thing with like "big companies" giving their groups a much higher chance of success versus small companies that is very similar to the whole top team / midfield or backmarker team dynamic in f1. Like 9 times out of 10 the success either are able to achieve depends mostly on the contract they sign. Also, and probably most obvious, the FAN SERVICE. And don't get me wrong, I love a good wholesome hug when an idol or driver is going through it or maybe even happy and celebrating. I don't necessarily like these seemingly forced for PR "bromances," and I know a lot of people liked it, but I found things like the crowd yelling to Lando and Daniel to kiss on that one fan stage kind of creepy? Like I wouldn't care if they DID want to kiss, don't get me wrong, there's just something weird about fans demanding they do it. HELP anon i must say that i was a little scared when i first saw this in my inbox dkghsdgsd. but don't worry!!

I used to be a kpop fan from 2015ish to 2019ish (? lines def aren't clear) and got "officially" into f1 early 2021 so for me it's more of a flow from one to the other and getting a lot of deja vu moments.

Please, the fanwar flashbacks i keep getting is exhausting. And then especially when I think back about the solo stans vs other solo stans or the group stans vs solo stans.

Back then it would be baekhyun stans vs chanyeol stans (excuse me, I forgot the name for the solo fandom sdkhgsd. I can remember that exols used to be eris but that's about it!) and nowadays it's chirlies vs carlos fans, and what used to be exols vs armys because red bull fans vs Mercedes fans.

There's also this weird focus on looks in both to where it almost makes it seem like talent doesn't even matter anymore. I feel like this is glaringly obvious in kpop fandom and even if you watch idol survival shows and see extremely talented singers and rappers eliminated or judged on the basis of not having the right look.

Oh. My. God. The visuals!! The discussions there used to be within group fandoms over who was the main visual, who had no right being a rapper/singer/dancer simply because they relied on their visuals and the discussions about visuals in itself was. Something.

But it's been growing in the f1 fandom too. I have even seen large numbers of people agree that Max has no place in f1 because he's not hot enough to be marketable. I feel like some part of the f1 fandom is letting some off track factors play too much into the on track expectations and facts. Just because a driver is the next pretty it boy doesn't mean he will automatically do well, and just because someone isn't conventionally pretty doesn't mean he shouldn't have a place in a team... You can definitely enjoy a drivers looks or aesthetic but some have seemed to forgotten that their actions on track speak for themselves.

It also isn't as obvious with every idol group or driver, but there are some unhealthy body image standards and just discussions around weight in both fandoms and industries that make me v uncomfortable.

The reactions to Max during winter break but general body pictures are crazy. In both the kpop and f1 fandom fans seem to have some kind of image in their head of what "healthy" should look like and they fucking riot when reality doesn't match it.

You're totally right here anon, but it also weirds me out at times because like, in the end for both fandoms it counts that these people are fans and 90% of the time do not know all the facts or just can't look at it objectively. Both fandoms desperately need people to step back, take a breath and remember it's either a sport or music. ffs.

My only blessing is that while drivers seem to be aware of the "joke" romances, is that they seem less aware of RPF. (We are going to exclude that time where people close to max started reading my 4433 for fun and just could NOT shut their fucking mouth).

Which is kind of wild to me, because while kpop fans did talk a lot about rpf on twitter they also censorred a lot of stuff as like, ch*nyeol instead of chanyeol ( i guess the mv0 instead of mv1 of f1 only then less negative and more for safety), and some idols were aware of it, it was mostly ignored and looked away. You made sure you followed the right people so you were either surrounded by camp anti rpf or camp rpf.

With f1 rpf it's very much more containted to tumble and ao3, except lately i have seen a trend where people have become less afraid of mentioning actual rpf on twitter. Which scares me a little because drivers feel more active on twitter skdghds.

Yet at the same time ship names seem much more common knowledge and also accepted within the whole fandom (i.e. lestappen gets used by "bros" on reddit as emotional support rivals but also by ao3 writers.). So in f1 the line between "joking" implied shipping/rpf and actual shipping/rpf seems way thinner than in kpop, where back when i was there, you either used certain names or you absolutely Did Not Even Think About it.

Fuck I remember days where baekhyun fans would talk about chanyeol in a positive way and would censor chanyeol's name just to prevent chanbaek shippers from interacting.

I do not think that Mrinmöy *necessarily* needs to have a perhaps... broodiness that i imagine you bring to Bob as he faces the onslaught of the world. However, there are still immense inner similarities. Mrinmöy (and Sunnï technically) have gone on many many side quests and learnt about the higher nature of reality through metaphor, and this leads to a secret wisdom that somehow needs to be shared with the world. also a burden. We have talked about this, but Bob's connection to divine metaphor and music and peculiar storytelling in ways that is hard to simply understand because it is so unique to him is his way in which he has connected to the higher magical realm. your spirit identity timothée does literally the exact same thing. you are writing it in the book, which i highly encourage you to include hella poetry because it is more mystical, and now you have amazing amazing useful guitar skills too to further explore this divine connection, on top of your amazing singing voice (still so impressed with your singing in the trailer). Now, what i think is interesting to reflect upon, is the ways in which we can *integrate* what we have learnt from this movie (which i know is ridiculous for me to say cuz i havent see it but to prompt your own reflection) similar the ways we have learnt from Dune. We can now take it for granted that, similar to Bob, you already do and now in different ways through writing the books and connecting with Félix and Mrinmöy have special secret identities that everyone in the entire world will inquire about. I accept my own responsibility for technically giving them do you. AND i think this movie will hella help me navigate what this struggle will be, SO THANK YOU FOR THAT! putting this under a readmore because its long. i would apologize but tbh everyone should know what to expect from me at this point

first impression: i actually used to hate him. this was wayyy back in highschool when i was vaguely aware of but completely uninterested in jjba. okuyasu was the one character i liked. keicho to me was just his shitty abusive older brother whose head i wanted to use as a pinata. you know how it is

current impression: honestly those feelings haven't really gone away they're just not the only ones i have anymore...he is very complex and tragic. a literal trainwreck of a person. he is to blame for most if not all of the problems in his life and that just makes him even sadder to me. and i think he knows that too, but he still tries to implicate other people/things (his father, dio, okuyasu, the joestar bloodline, his upbringing, etc), like if he repeats the lie that he's not solely responsible for his own actions enough times it will eventually become true.....also he's trans and my girlfriend <3

favorite moment: the scene where josuke extends a metaphorical olive branch to him and he immediately breaks down while trying to save face makes me so. AUUUUUUUUU. my favorite interpretation of it is actually in the live action movie because keicho's actor is a lot more subdued than in the animanga and yet still manages to convey the devastation he's going thru in that moment. girls love being given a chance to escape the fate they've already doomed themselves to *pouring lighter fluid on myself* it's so fun

Why are people so pressed over the saysojo friendship? Calling them pr and being weird? Don't you post pictures and videos with friends? You know they are people like everyone else and allowed to have close friendships. I mean when you're on set with the same people ever day it's easy to form a close bond, especially if you have similar personalities. The trio seem like the sweetest ever. It's really nice to see that they have each other in a crazy ass world that they are a part of.

This kind of shit pisses me off about fandoms, you get weird, say shit like this and then the actors stop posting things. When It's nice to get some kind of content in between seasons. It reminds me of when Josh and Sofia posted that dance on TikTok during the Covid season and people jumped on them for that. They are clearly close friends but y'all had to go and make it weird.

Don't tell me this innocent trio's friendship has y'all so pressed just because of a Disney ship, or because you're fav is not in it.

Fresh Blood Demoness

Just when i think my Iron Blood quest is coming to an end, Azur Lane goes and adds another ship for me to snatch up. It looks like, with the coming update, we’re getting a brand new KMS Priority Ship and, on top of that, she’s a Prinz! The newest update is giving us a Shinano rerun, not my ever illusive Inverted Orthant, which is dope on it’s own. I am disappoint about the lack of Orthant but cool. Now, i already murdered that Dreamwakers's run initially so i don’t need to do it again. I’m going to, mostly because I'm curious how the first UR rerun is going to play out and i want more rainbow Blueprints. The rerun is nice but the other aspects of the update are absolutely intriguing. I am absolutely enamored with the new Research Queuing. This sh*t is amazing! You can load up to five separate Research projects at once, each time refreshing the available projects. That means you can get up to six refreshes in a day instead of the old, single, option. They all complete in the allotted time selected, in the order that they were set up, but that sh*t will go a long way to unlocking these new Blueprints for Priority Five. Which is the one aspect I am most hype for; We got Priority Five ships, boys!

I heard rumors of a new PR season a few weeks back but paid it no mind because there wasn’t a KMS ship in that roster. Imagine my surprise when an Iron Blood was dropped in this new update. Plymouth, a Decisive ship, is available for Royal Navy construction which is pretty chill. I mean, it’s not like they aren't already lousy with PR ships, and one of the only few Decisive options in Drake. Plymouth gives the Royal Navy to Decisive options, tying them with Iron Blood. Iris Libre gets to add to their PR spoils with Brest, another Decisive option. So far, they only have two PR options in Champagne and Saint Louis. Adding Brest really bolsters that French dock. Surprisingly, and very much welcome, is the fact that Dragon Empery and Northern Parliament finally get PR options! Harbin is the Empery ship and a very necessary one. Not only will she be the single Empery Priority option, but Harbin is the only Super Rare equivalent for the whole Chinese dock. It’s so weird there is an entire fleet with absolutely no SR option available. Northern Parliament fared much better in that regard, even netting a proper Ultra Rare ship in Kronshtadt (a rerun that i will partake in because i passed on the initial gambit) but they don’t have a Carrier. Until now. Chkalov is not only their first Construction option but she's a whole ass Carrier and you know how much i love them plane boats! But, all this Priority goodness aside, you know it’s KMS or bust for me. The Manjuu gods didn't disappoint, gifting me another delicious option in Prinz Rupprecht!

I have a soft spot for my Prinz girls. Obviously, Eugen is love. She’s the reason i even started playing this game but Adalbert has fast become a favorite and Heinrich is one of two reasons why i f*cking NEED that Orthant rerun. The other is Strasser but that’s more because of my insatiable Carrier lust than anything. The KMS Prirotiy ships have all been absolute winners. Roon, Mainz, Odin, Friedrich, Aegir, and August all find themselves under heavy in my various Fleets so, obviously, i have a mighty need for Prinz Rupprecht. I am a little bummed she isn’t a Carrier, i kind of always am because of the aforementioned Carrier lust, but Rupprecht is a Battlecruiser. Iron Blood isn’t short on Battleships at all. I mean, Ulrich, Bismarck, and Fried are all primed for battle. We also just recently got Seyditz, Lutzow, and Thuringen in the Rondo at Rainbow's End. KMS is lousy for Battleships and, while i am a little disappointed Rupprecht isn’t a Carrier, i am happy she’s a goddamn powerhouse. Anytime i can add to my Main KMS fleet, i am on board. Plus, she looks like Elizabeth Bathory from Fate/Grand Order. All gushing aside, i am not looking forward to accumulating that two million experience. That sh*t is always a goddamn slog, man.

im sorry if there are questions here you’ve answered but bear with me I’m trying to keep these thoughts while I have ‘em

am I right in thinking jensen was possibly told someone else would talk to jared and that was either an intentional lie or they failed to follow through? Jared’s tweet @ Robbie makes it seem like Robbie is the one who failed here vs. jensen being 100% responsible. Could someone have blocked Jensen from talking to Jared or just decided to drop the news even though they said there would be a heads up?

the other thought I have: did jensen leave out mentioning jared hoping people would make assumptions bc they were more likely to support the project if they didn’t know jared was absent? Were bridges burned here or does no one care they weren’t told? Did everyone just know and roll with it?

I don’t have a film background at all but i have music industry background, and if I was a band’s artist manager and someone was about to jump ship, or if someone was starting a new project in the band’s name during a hiatus that might be contentious, it would be my responsibility to make sure that the conversation was as emotionally neutral as possible and the situation was amicable. It doesn’t seem like anyone in that kind of position gave a fuck here, which is weird to me. Were they expecting Jared to just play dead or were they genuinely trying to cut him out even with the risk of conflict? Did they think Jared would not care bc Walker is such a time consuming hit?

I know this isn’t even close to a harsh incident in the long run as like…Pink Floyd literally leaving Syd Barrett on the side of the road rather than telling him he was fired, and it’s not as insane as three different post-break up bands touring worldwide at the same time claiming to be The Beach Boys and fighting about it in court.

but why the fuck did no one consider the outside perspective or uncontrollable variables here at least for the sake of PR and maintaining good business relationships? I expect things to turn out fine but in my realm of the music industry this would be considered sloppy af and an unnecessary risk.

The thing I do understand is that there’s knowledge that SPN is hot rn and you can’t wait to take action. If Jensen didn’t get his reboot idea rolling someone else would swoop in with their own, and he has been eyeing creative control over any spin offs for a long time. He can’t delay his own success for the sake of Jared’s emotional attachment to SPN. But even on the brink of something as critical as that, personally I would pick up the fuckin phone and say “dude guess what”

I think I saw you express earlier that you wish you could take over mgmt for jensen and like — dude, same. And every time Misha does anything I die a little inside bc a. I know one of his family members and the second hand embarrassment is palpable but also b. I am familiar with wrangling masshole hippies in particular and my brain automatically supplies what should have/could have been done.

In every business: hollywood, sports, music, retail, federal, etc, communication is key. Always.   In my experience, when a "break up" is going to happen, TPTB sends at least two people to deliver the news to the high-tier talent in person and contain the drama. So if you want to put a positive spin on Thursday night, Jensen did not want to "break up" with Jared and thought because Jared got his way on closing the door on Sam and Dean's story to mean he was done with Supernatural.  

In Kripke’s case, best case scenario is having witnessed Jared trying to leave Supernatural after season 3 and personally flew to Vancouver to see Jared prior to season 5, Kripke may have thought Jared was very unhappy being on Supernatural and may had thought he was doing Jared a favor by saying he is too busy with Walker to give him an out from being involved with SPN again.

If true, then they obviously thought wrong and it was epic failed communication  that it’s almost a comedy.  Well, to me anyways.

As we saw with the YANA campaign, the level of clowning was unbelievable because neither Misha nor Jensen communicated a single message.  WB had to step in and write scripts for them.  Just like editors save writers from themselves, publicists save actors from themselves.  I always wondered if Jensen ever had a publicist because he can afford one easily, but I never got the sense Jensen has one.   Hell, what’s Jensen’s manager even doing?  Jensen always had shitty management but that’s because I thought they were flummoxed over how to brand Jensen.  Last I heard, Jensen’s manger is Chris Huvane who is like the Roger Clinton of disappointment (Roger Clinton is the unsuccessful brother of President Bill Clinton).  Chris Huvane tried to be an actor, when that didn’t work out he tried to be a fireman, then a DJ, then a hip hop producer, then an editor at GQ where he was more of a “celebrity wrangler” than a journalist. So when Management 360 hired Chris as a talent manager it raised a lot of eyebrows in Hollywood and there were conspiracy theory whispers of inside dealings and trading with CAA. 

I’m getting off track.  My point is based on how he handled the #SPNFamily Represent campaign and the YANA campaign, Jensen is a very, very poor communicator.  He likely does not have a publicist and his manager is probably too busy with inside trading schemes.
