Ranking my favorite animated dad characters because I canā€™t sleep
I realized that a lot of my favorite animated characters are dads, so fuck it. Letā€™s rank them both on their dad-ness and on their character overall.
7. Ansel Beauregard (Arlo the Alligator Boy/I heart Arlo): okay so, as much as Iā€™m kinda hyperfocusing on this guy rn, he kinda HAS to get the lowest rank ā€˜cause likeā€¦ he literally abandoned his gator baby in the sewer. Honestly the fact that heā€™s able to be likable at all is a damn miracle, but the movie and show pull it off surprisingly well.
Basically from the moment he finally accepts Arlo into his life, heā€™s trying his best to make amends - though admittedly he still doesnā€™t always go about it the best way, lol. Growing up bullied then isolated and then becoming crazy rich at a young age has definitely made him more than a little oblivious, out of touch and self-centered (though these parts of his personality are still funny/endearing instead of being annoying imo) but he still genuinely cares (even when he was unwilling to face his truth, he still gave Arlo advice that he at least thought was in Arloā€™s best interest based on what worked for him) and I really do love the interactions he has with Arlo. I also love the whole bird-man aspect of him both as a character design and fun quirk, and his VA work and singing is also phenomenal. (Seriously, Iā€™ve been listening to ā€œBetter Lifeā€ multiple times per day, someone pls I need help asdfghjkl)
6. Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Phineas & Ferb): So, back when I was a kid, Doof was definitely my favorite character, and while Iā€™ve kiiiiiinda grown out of him in some aspects (his over-exposure in things like MML didnā€™t exactly help), I can still enjoy him for being a really funny and really enjoyable character.
Can he sometimes be annoying, slightly obnoxious and take up too much screentime in the latter seasons? Sure, totally. But like- Iā€™m never gonna NOT love the ā€˜evil villain who has a huge soft spot for their childā€™ trope, itā€™s a classic for a reason. Doof is a dork and can be overbearing, but heā€™s also really sweet and will do anything for his daughter, including get himself stung by dozens of bees. It also canā€™t be denied just how many of his lines and moments can still get laughs out of me even after all these years. We Stan a petty ADHD-king and (not-so-)evil scientist dad.
5. Hamato Yoshi/Lou Jitsu/Splinter (ROTTMNT): oh hey, another dad with trauma - only instead of being bullied and forced to hide himself or having a nonsensical tragic backstory, he had to deal with generational trauma, being forced into fighting/killing for sport, and finally getting mutated which led to years of on/off depression. ā€¦yeahhhhh.
This is another character I really admire for just how well theyā€™re written, even if he wasnā€™t always the best dad (though for the record, he wasnā€™t nearly as neglectful as some fans want to claimā€¦) I think most Rise fans would agree that Splinter absolutely has the best arc in the series, going from a strictly comedy relief couch potato to a loving father/tragic figure who manages to rise above everything for the sake of his kids. Heā€™s willing to let the world burn for the sake of his sons and I respect the hell out of him for it regardless of whether or not itā€™s the ā€˜moralā€™ choice. But heā€™s also still really funny and really cool when he wants to be, and for as much as Iā€™ve drifted away from Rise, Splinter and his story is still one of the few aspects I adore and appreciate about this show.
4. Pete McGee (The Ghost and Molly McGee): Pete is just a super endearing character to me even if he arguably has the least going on of all the TGAMM characters. Heā€™s a very typical goofy sitcom dad both in terms of design (which, nglā€¦ Pete is kinda really cute? Am I the only one who sees it?) and attitude, usually only being used for comedy while Sharon is the one who gets to be the slightly more serious one and have the heart-to-hearts with/give advice to Molly.
But thatā€™s fine because even if heā€™s not the deepest dad on this list, heā€™s still incredibly endearing imo. Heā€™s a 100% Wife Guy, he struggles to stand up for himself but still always tries to stand up for his family, he inspired Molly to be heavily interested in community service, and heā€™s a dancer! Which is just a really fun quirk, hence why I really love both the Ice Princess episode and the Dance Dad episode (asdfghjkl I remember when Tess and I were watching the latter, she was cringing at all the TikTok dances while I was sitting next to her enjoying the song and just being like yeahhhhh get it Pete! Lol). While I do wish we could have gotten a bit of deeper character stuff with Pete, heā€™s still pretty solid and very enjoyable to watch.
3. Bob Belcher (Bobā€™s Burgers): we love our autistic Burger King babeyyyyy! Seriously though, while Iā€™ve grown to love all the Belchers, thereā€™s definitely a reason why I gravitated towards Bob first. Heā€™s a mess of a guy whoā€™s just trying his best to deal with all the chaos that life and his family throw at him, and we love him for it.
I love that even while being the most grounded character in the show, heā€™s not afraid of being a little unhinged and just fucking going off on someone or something. Heā€™s also often the one whoā€™s always trying to help others, even when itā€™s usually by accident given how much of an introvert he is. He loves his wife, his kids and his burgers with all his heart, and even when heā€™s at his worst (which is a rarity), you still are rooting for the best for him and want everything to work out. His heart-to-hearts with his kids (and with other characters) really are some of my favorite moments from the show. Furthermore, much like literally all the other characters on this list, his VAā€™s delivery just adds SO much to his character as well. I really do just love H. Jon Benjamin, heā€™s so hilarious and needs to voice more characters.
2. Rodolfo Rivera/White Pantera (El Tigre): Ah yes, my first favorite animated dad character, even before Doof. As such, Iā€™m always gonna have a soft spot for this guy. Like Iā€™ve said before, I love how heā€™s able to be both a goofy and super soft-hearted character but can also be a total badass at times, sometimes without even trying.
He just wants to protect his city and help his son grow up right, and I love him for it! Heā€™s easily one of the funniest characters in the show, but I appreciate that heā€™s allowed to still be cool and still have a win occasionally. He also manages to be stern without ever becoming unlikable or unreasonable, given that heā€™ll still always be there for his son and father even when theyā€™re doing things he doesnā€™t approve of, and I think itā€™s that overall balance that really endeared me to him, plus his great design+voice (if I had a nickel for every time I gravitated to an Eric Bauza-voiced dad, Iā€™d have two-). His little catchphrase quirks like ā€œokay be good!ā€ and saying Mannyā€™s full name live in my head rent-free, ngl.
1. Bill Green (Big City Greens) let me make this clearā€¦ I! LOVE! BILL! GREEN! Heā€™s justā€¦ SO great. Heā€™s wholesome, heā€™s funny and goofy, heā€™s sweet, heā€™s a loving father, heā€™s stern but still reasonable, heā€™s a hard worker, heā€™s super relatable, heā€™s a secret badass, heā€™s a huge dork, he sings about his truck and is super attached to his wood carvings - he really is just everything and I mean that in the best possible way.
While Cricket and Tilly are obviously the stars of the show, I really do love how much energy the show puts into making Bill this incredibly well-rounded and likable character who you just canā€™t help but sympathize with and root for when it comes to his farm stuff. I canā€™t say that heā€™s perfect, heā€™s definitely made a couple pretty poor decisions here and there, but overall I think heā€™s everything I want out of a great animated dad character (probably because he honestly reminds me a lot of my own dad - or at least, the positive parts of my dad). Heā€™s not the only thing I love about BCG, far from it, but heā€™s definitely one of my biggest favorite things about it.
BONUS HONORABLE MENTION DADS:
- Vasquez (BCG): bodyguards/surrogate dads absolutely count. So happy that Vasquez has become much more prominent and fleshed-out as the showā€™s gone on, heā€™s just so great. Thank you Danny Trejo for voicing him, canā€™t wait for that s4 ep where Vasquez apparently goes to therapy
- Lego Batman (Lego Batman Movie): ah yes, the kick-starter to the Batman/Bat-fam phase I had in college. Fits right alongside characters like Ansel and Splinter for being obviously flawed dads (bro literally called his new son ā€˜expendableā€™ wtf Bruce) who still care a lot/grow to become better people over time through the influence of their kid. Will Arnett is still absolutely hilarious as this character, I love how he immediately goes into dad-mode when Robin gets slammed into the windshield, and that bit at the end where he finally tells Robin the truth about his ā€˜dadsā€™ still gets me a bit teary-eyed
- Wild Knuckles (The Rise of Gru): technically a grand-dad but whatever. Like I said, I love my villains with a soft-side for their kid, and it makes me sad that the Rise of Gru fandom essentially ignored this guy in favor of hot young Dr. Nefario. Like- I donā€™t care if the arc between him and baby Gru was somewhat rushed, dude literally got himself burned alive by a huge dragon for his surrogate grandkid, he deserves better
If youā€™ve made it this far, let me know if you like any of these dad characters + what your favorites are ^v^

Hey bestie! As my resident pnf expert, what is your reaction/opinion of the pnf reboot? I am a pnf og, watched it while it aired back in the day. But im very on the fence about this reboot. Im not sure what all they could do, honestly! Im assuming the catu movie did well? I havent seen hamster and gretal, really, but ive heard that is doing well as well. I'm kind of nervous tbh, I dont want them to "ruin" my boys lol. But, your opinions about all of it? Im curious!
hi! Iā€™m a pnf og too, so I do really hope that the reboot lives up to its original glory - as long as swampy is involved, the characters are still really dynamic and the storylines hit well. I would like to say my expectations arenā€™t high, but after catu and the mml crossover (and uh. well, we all know how I feel about post-last-day-of-summer doofenshmirtz)ā€¦ I think thereā€™s a set standard that should be met for the new episodes.
I think seeing the pnf cast come back twice since the show ended has made it easier to adjust to new content, even if they might have seemed a bit out of character or the timelines donā€™t add up.
I have no doubts about the voice actors being brilliant as always. they always have great deliveries. I donā€™t think there would be any issues with songwriting or animation, if we think about how good catu was (but donā€™t ask me abt snipple. I donā€™t wanna talk abt it). in my opinion, thereā€™s not a single song on the catu soundtrack thatā€™s a letdown, and most of the animation is really impressive. as long as the crew arenā€™t rushed, I think thereā€™s a good chance we could get stuff of a similar quality.
overall? Iā€™m excited. pnf has always had its flaws, and if the new episodes do then thatā€™s okay. Iā€™m sure weā€™ll discuss everything about it as a community after everything airs lol
thanks for the ask!

āœ¤ + Candessa
(Source)
Oh, you picked an interesting one. Something I donā€™t ship too strongly but I still like them and totally see why itā€™s popular.
Who said I love you first? I feel like Candace would, probably because the way I see things is Candace being all insecure about it (especially if she hasnā€™t crushed on a girl before) and then she just blurts it out in a sudden confession. Vanessa would be chill about it of course.
Who laughs when the other trips? Wow, thatā€™s mean. :v But I feel like if I were to see this, it would be Vanessa laughing at Candace, if only because Candace is more likely to trip, lol.
Who pays the bills? Good question... I could see both of them doing it, but I think if I had to pick one Iā€™d go Candace, I think sheā€™d probably worry more about it since Vanessa would be more carefree.
Which one makes a bigger deal around the holidays? Candace. I have a feeling a lot of this is going to be ā€œCandace because sheā€™s neurotic and worries about things, while Vanessa is level headed and calmā€, lol. I also think Candace would probably just care more in general, Vanessa might be a bit more counterculture in her approach to things.
Whoā€™s more clumsy? Candace. Nuff said.
Who checks their daily horoscope? How dare you bring astrology into this. If someone HAD to follow it... Candace. If only because sheā€™d worry about stuff.
Who sings louder in the car? Hmm... they both are fine singing and are good at it, so Iā€™m not too sure Iā€™m biased towards one more than the other? I guess Candace might be more enthusiastic though. This is getting boring, isnā€™t it? :v
Who leaves the cap off the toothpaste? What are these questions??? Is this what domestic life for normal people is like??? I donā€™t even think about this stuff. Iā€™m going to say Vanessa purely because Iā€™m sick of saying Candace everytime. Uh... more laid back means more of a slacker with this stuff??? Look, this is a weird question, my answers arenā€™t gonna be good.
Who is more up to date in pop culture? Hmm... I think Iā€™d say Candace purely because her tastes seem more mainstream than Vanessa, who seems to be into more niche and indie stuff.
Who insists on going to see the newest movies? Guess who, Candace. :v I think sheā€™d be more concerned with following trends and staying up to date, basically.
Who cries when the abused animal commercials come on? Uh, is the person who made this quiz okay? Okay, fine... Candace, if only because she seems to be more of a crier and would more visibly react to things. Vanessa would still care, sheā€™s just not dramatic.
Whoā€™s the lighter sleeper? Candace. You really think she sleeps well with all that anxiety?
Who believes in ghosts? Okay, I think this might actually be more of a Vanessa one (FINALLY). Vanessa would probably be more likely to believe in paranormal stuff at least. I COULD see Candace believing in them at times though, if only in a panicky ā€œtheyā€™re gonna get meā€ way.
Who does the grocery shopping? I think Candace would be the one most concerned about getting stuff right so probably her if itā€™s a solo trip.
Who updates their Facebook status more often? Candace, because Vanessa would consider herself too cool for Facebook, so sheā€™d probably never use it unless Doofenshmirtz was on it or something, lol. Candace I could see maybe using it a BIT more since sheā€™s probably more inclined to keep in touch with family but I can even see her thinking Facebook is outdated boomer site. :v
Also, fun fact: if you really want me to get into this ship, I actually ship them most when theyā€™re part of a polycule of Candace, Vanessa, Stacy and Jeremy. I donā€™t think all of them would necessarily date each other, but I think theyā€™d all at least be with Candace. Would Candace handle polyamory? Iā€™m not sure, but look, this is just me having some fun imagining a scenario.

My mind was plagued with thoughts of the episode where the kids think Perry laid an egg and the comic where Perry saves a baby platypus from Doof, and that got me thinking: what if Perry was actually a dad to a baby platypus? One possibility is that Perry wouldn't want his child to become an agent at such a young age and would rather have his kid decide if they want to do it when they're older, but I believe that either way, the young platypus would inherit Perry's anthropomorphism.
oh my god Iā€™ve never even thought about Dad!Perry beforeĀ šŸ„ŗ I thought his relationship with the Flynn-Fletcher kids was wholesome but thatĀ has some real potential to become the superior relationship
obligatoryĀ ā€œread moreā€ to save everyone who doesnā€™t care how I feel about Dad!Perry
Okay first I gotta ask how we think this would happen. Is it the egg from Perry Lays An Egg that hatches, except it really isĀ a baby platypus and Perry ends up taking it in because no one else can? Or is it Perry taking one of Doofā€™s platybabies home? Or is it trans!Perry laying his own egg? Or Perry has sex with another platypus (thatā€™s such a weird thought lmao) and somehow he becomes the sole guardian of the egg? As the numero unoĀ ā€œPerry is an asexual demibiromantic platypusā€ stan, I kinda like the first or second one, but I also feel like the platybaby should be related to him? But at the same time Phineas and Ferb is all about how family donā€™t end in blood so maybe thatā€™s not important?
AnywaysĀ onto Dad!Perry because holy shit Iā€™m excited to explore this
Iā€™m gonna start at the end of the ask by saying that I feel like anthropomorphism isnā€™t genetically inherited; I feel like itā€™s something thatā€™s taught. Itā€™s kinda a nature vs nurture type thing so I guess itā€™s more a psychological debate than anything, but if I had to channel my inner English teacher and draw evidence fromĀ ā€œthe textā€ (aka the show), I gotta bring up the koi from Attack of the 50 Foot Sister that were just kinda vibin in the neighborsā€™ pond at the beginning of the episode and then Monogram had to make them agents to avoid a lawsuit and by the end they were saving Perryā€™s ass?Ā Which is relevant to literally nothing except that I think any baby animal Perry raises, regardless of whether or not theyā€™re related to him by blood (or even by species), will probably turn the lil baby into an anthropomorphic lil platybaby just because of all the human and human-like influences
And now the elephant in the room (cue OWCA Files Agent E joke): how does OWCA react to the news? Which I guess is really a follow-up question to how OWCA finds out in the first place. I think we can all agree that Perry wonā€™t wantĀ to tell them. Itā€™s not like he sees the other agents as friends that he wants to invite to the baby shower. But Monogram would want to know if thereā€™s a new player in the Flynn-Fletcher house not that he knows who lives there now; thatā€™s Carlā€™s area of expertise. Would he have to tell them? Is there a protocol for that? Especially if itā€™s just an egg he picks up from The Treeā„¢ in the backyard. Thatā€™s basically just getting a new pet, right? And sure, Monogram would wantĀ to know, but is Perry legally obligated to tell him is the question.
But Monogram has to find out one way or another, and given that Perry is the best of the best, Monogram is going to want his kid in the club. Perry would 100% say no, too, but I donā€™t know if it would be because he wants his son (yes itā€™s a boy platybaby no I donā€™t know why) to have his own say in his future; I think Perry would consider OWCA too dangerous for his son. I mean, we saw what happened when Phineas, Ferb, and Candace got mixed up in his job: they were almost eaten by a goozim and the tri-state area was almost taken over by an evil dictator. He would definitely want to keep his son out of that scene if he could. At least all the dangers at home are Phineas-and-Ferb-sponsored, and unlike OWCA, theyĀ would make sure he didnā€™t get hurt.
Buuuut Monogram is also a dumbass and doesnā€™t know how to take no for an answer, so heā€™d keep pushing. It has to be a well-known fact around OWCA that changing Agent Pā€™s mind about anything is notĀ an easy feat, so maybe when Monogram realized it was a lost cause, heā€™d try to go around Perryā€™s back? Maybe while Perry was at work, heā€™d head to the Flynn-Fletchersā€™ house (or send Carl again like Undercover Carl) to try to get the platybaby alone? He could explain what OWCA is and that he would make a perfect candidate. I doubt Perry would have told his son about OWCA in any detail yet other than the fact that he works there and thatā€™s where he goes every day, so this would all be new and interesting. And then Perry either comes home when Monogram or Carl is talking to his son about OWCA or his son brings it up himself, and Perry is fuming because he made it very clearĀ that he didnā€™t want OWCA anywhere near his family.Ā
And now I canā€™t help but wonder if that would cause bigger problems between him and OWCA? What if thatā€™s his breaking point, and he just flat-out quits because if they canā€™t respect his very few boundaries, he doesnā€™t owe them anything? And assuming the platybaby didnā€™t come from Doof, maybe thatā€™s how they meet? Somehow he finds out that the reason thereā€™s a new agent working his case is that Perryā€™s out onĀ ā€œpermanent paternity leaveā€ or something, and word gets back to Perry somehow (maybe Pinky heard it through the grapevine and told him? idk) that Doof wants to meet him? And Perryā€™s kinda wary buuuuut at the same time, Doof isnā€™t his nemesis anymore. If you take OWCA out of the equation, arenā€™t they just friends?Ā
WAIT A SECOND
IMAGINE HOW NORM WOULD REACT TO SEEING A BABY PLATYPUS
LIKE
I DONā€™T KNOW WHY
BUT NORM WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVEĀ THIS BABY PLATYPUS
and Doof would get kinda annoyed becauseĀ ā€œHe came here so IĀ could meet the baby, you know,ā€ and usually thatā€™s enough to convince Norm that heā€™s doing something wrong, but this time Norm is just like,Ā ā€œBut I love him?ā€ And Doof expects Perry to back him up and he probably should but at the same time, his son looks so happy with Norm? Without OWCAā€™s training, he still has that platypus aspect to his personality that comes from both his animal instinct and how the Flynn-Fletchers treat him, so heā€™s just kinda snuggled up in Normā€™s lap and Norm is just petting him?
And this is probably after heā€™s shown some human-like features and Doof knows that heā€™s about as human as Perry, so he asks,Ā ā€œDoes he like being pet?ā€ and Perry nods because duh of course he does and Doof just kinda looks at him for a moment and heā€™s like,Ā ā€œDo youĀ like to be pet?ā€ and Perry just fuckin decks him because no he does not yes he does and Doof just nods like,Ā ā€œOkay, fair enough.ā€
AND THEN VANESSA WALKS IN???
and she had absolutely no idea this was happening sheā€™s about to go drop her stuff off in her room for the weekend and Normā€™s like,Ā ā€œLook at my new friend!ā€ and Vanessa thinks itā€™s gonna be something stupid but she walks over and sees the baby platypus and she starts freaking out because holy shit Perry is that yours?Ā and obviously she needs to know literally everything there is to know about him because this is her nephew now and she will not take no for an answer.
And I feel like OWCA really wouldnā€™t like this? I mean, Perry completely severed ties with them over this platybaby, and now heā€™s bringing his son over to DEI at least twice a week to see his former nemesis? And idk what they would do about it because I donā€™t think thereā€™s an actual protocol for this, but Monogram is Very Sensitiveā„¢ and he wonā€™t stand for this.
Also and Iā€™m totally just spit-balling here but what if, because the platybaby is kinda also being raised by the Doofenshmirtzes (and the Flynn-Fletchers but idk if that would make much of a difference here bc he has to pretend to be a mindless pet around them like his dad), he gets the best of the human and animal experience all in one, without all the shit Perry had to deal with from OWCA? And what if that somehow leads him to be able to speak? I donā€™t quite know how that would work, mostly because I donā€™t really know what prevents Perry from speaking, but we already went into that back in May so Iā€™m not gonna go thereĀ again lol
okay Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s been over two hours since I started working on this ask but I canā€™t help it because this is literally such a cute idea fjdshflakfa I donā€™t even know if Iā€™d be content reading this like I feel like this is just something I want to write. I kinda want to see how Phineas and Ferb would treat him, and if theyā€™d treat Perry any differently now that a) heā€™s a dad and b) thereā€™s a new platypus for them to love. I also want to see how Candace would handle probably falling in love with the platybaby but still getting annoyed by Perry. I reallyĀ want to see what Vanessa and Normā€™s relationship with the platybaby would turn into. Idk so much about the Doof/platybaby relationship though; I feel like Iā€™d be more interested in how this affects the Doof/Perry dynamic instead. Something about Doof makes me think he wouldnā€™t be as easily swayed by the platybaby as everyone else, but the fact that Perry would now be a dad just like him would probably make him unreasonably happy. And thatā€™s not even touching upon how different life would be for PerryĀ now that he has a son, and he would obviously adore the little guy with his entire being, but, like, he has a son? How is he supposed to deal with that?
also I really shouldā€™ve given the platybaby a name to make this more readable and itā€™s a little too late for that but I hereby decree that his new temporary name until such time as this fic gets written is Horatio (unless yā€™all wanna hit me up with your platybaby name ideas because I would love to see them?) so welcome to the Dwampyverse, Horatio :,)

So I made my own version of a PnF monster AU back in 2018 and Iā€™ve been considering still making it a thing, but idk
No plot yet, just the basic adventures these creature-humans can have. (Btw Twilight didnā€™t invent werewolves and vampires so I donā€™t wanna hear ā€œoh this is twilight lolololā€ or Istg Iā€™ll eat your shower curtains)
Phineas is a werewolf, he can transform to a half-wolf or full wolf depending on his mood or if the moon is full. Usually heā€™s pretty good at keeping himself under control and staying in his human form, but there are few circumstances where he gets really angry and goes full wolf (thatā€™s when he canā€™t communicate at all and goes completely feralā€”lasts for an hour at most).
Isabella is a mermaid. She canā€™t transform into a human without a certain spell that she canā€™t remember, so sheā€™s been stuck as a mermaid for years. She can breathe out of water, but only for a while and only when necessary.
Ferb is a vampire, but not like the typical ā€œoh I canā€™t go out in the sun or eat garlic skhkjā€. He can go out in sunlight and such, but heā€™s still really pale and can transform into a bat on command. He also sleeps in a coffin cuz I think thatā€™s cool.
Candace is a fairy, sheā€™s normal sized but can shrink if she wants. She hasnā€™t exactly mastered her powers yet so when her emotions get the better of her she just shrinks at random times (when scared or insecure usually). Sheā€™s also really bad at keeping her wings at check cuz theyā€™re bigger than her and are extremely inconvenient sometimes.
Baljeet is a ghost (he didnā€™t die, he was born as a ghost kinda like Carrie from TAWOG). Heā€™s invisible to the majority of people, only his friends and family can see him. He can lift objects with his mindā€”kinda has to since he canā€™t physically pick them upā€”and communicate with the dead. He chooses not to, though, they freak him out.
Buford is a centaur cyclops. I didnā€™t see him fitting into just one category of monster, and they both seemed perfect for him. Heā€™s larger and stronger than the others and uses his powers to be reckless. He can see visions of the future, but he doesnā€™t tell anyone for their safetyā€”also he doesnā€™t care enough to remember.
Perry is a shapeshifter. Heā€™s a platypus but can change into a human, dragon, wolf, and phoenix. His dragon form is still kinda small (like a little bigger than Spyro), but still terrifying. He obtains all the special powers of these creatures but only when in their forms, so only his dragon and phoenix form breathe fire.
Doofenshmirtz is a demon, except heā€™s not like the other demons that are seen around town. Heā€™s smaller and has less powers, so he relies on his -inators to do his work for him. His hands are burned and deformed so he has trouble summoning fire with them.
Vanessa is a siren, so sheā€™s the dangerous type of mermaid. She can use her voice to lure in men to kill them, but she chooses not to do that. Instead she just gets people to do things for her like chores. And she can easily manipulate people by saying sheā€™ll return the favor (but she never does).
Jeremy is a dragon. He can never be in a full human form, his legs are always that of a dragon, accompanied by a tail and wings (though they are smaller when heā€™s in this form). He never really goes full dragon, not even when he has to cuz heā€™s pretty powerful anyway (he breathes blue fire ehehe).
Monogram is a griffin (idk I thought it was cool). He has trouble communicating sometimes cuz depending on his mood heā€™ll speak only in animal languages, which is why he runs OWCA.
Carl is a half deer/half human. He doesnā€™t really have any special powers, heā€™s just a man whoā€™s stuck with a lower deer body and heā€™s literally the same ā€œpaidā€ intern in the show. But heā€™s a great use for OWCA cuz he can also communicate with the animals.
I didnā€™t do all of the characters but now that Iā€™m getting back into it I just might. Lmk what you think theyā€™d be. Actually just lmk what you think of the AU in general.
(Also forgot to mention that it takes place when theyā€™re a little older so donā€™t be imagining little monster children running around lol)

All buildings are fully furnished, the ones that are households have characters living there, most of them have jobs already. All characters trades match theyā€™re personalities. No CC, only one pack (get famouse) all builds and characters are made by me (gihzonzin on the gallery). Some buildings have moveobjects but not all of them. The file is completely playable and I really enjoyed it. Del sol valley is completely empty but Iā€™m still thinking about putting more Disney stuff there (I take suggestions).
Thanks everyone please tell me your thoughts, if reviewing PLEASE give me credit my name is Giovana Zonzin and YES it took soooo long to finish lol.
Edit: I have to remember you guys that I have never ever been to any Disney park around the world (Iā€™m not rich, you could tell by my sad one and only pack) so if you donā€™t like the park inspired stuff sorry I only had photo reference šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø. Okay, hereā€™s my full thoughts on the Phineas and Ferb effect, SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT:
My feelings are growing increasingly mixed. I want to make it clear that I DID enjoy the episode despite the language barrier, and itā€™s likely many issues I have could be fixed when we get English subtitles, but given how a lot of stuff was handled, Iā€™m not sure how much is gonna be fixed. I mean, many people who watched the Russian dub of AYA didnā€™t change opinions at all when the English version finally came out. Time for specifics:
- Okay I know what youā€™re all wondering: how did I feel about Isabellaā€™s appearance? My feelings are like the episode overall, mixed. When I saw her and the Fireside Girls show up to rescue the others I was pretty happy, and seeing her turned into a Pistachion now turned against Phineas and Ferb was quite terrifying. But then... I started to think. I donā€™t really have an issue with the fact her role was absurdly small (apparently Bradley has more lines lol), I mean based on the promos I was expecting it to be so. My issue was more how poorly integrated into the story she was.
Like, I can see an early version of the episode with her being with Buford and Baljeet (you know, what I thought was the most logical way to go :V), but then they wrote themselves into a corner with Phineas, Ferb, Milo and co being captured and someone needed to get them out. Ergo, Isabella was then written to go guerilla with the Fireside Girls (which does make sense at least) and then show up to untie them and drop off the Milo mech.
Like I said, in-universe this is all perfectly logical. My issue is how Isabella was basically just there to be a plot device, not only that but what is basically a deus ex machina to free the others. She did her plot things, and then all she was there for was to be transformed and brainwashed into a pistachion minion. And then after she becomes herself again, she doesnā€™t show up with the other friends at the end, which I find pretty weird. Like, okay, Isabella didnā€™t get to meet the MML characters properly so I can see the reasoning I guess, but it still felt odd that now things were normal she wasnā€™t hanging out with them? I guess Fireside Girl duties call for a report on the nut people invasion or something lol. Or the rift between her and Phineas is already beginning, cue Act Your Age music.
- SPEAKING OF DEUS EX MACHINAS... I donā€™t know if they set this up in any dialogue, but I kinda doubt it. But anyway... Professor Time. Besides some things Iā€™ll get to in a bit, the way he resolved everything was my least favourite thing about the ep. Like, he literally just shows up at the end, picks up Orton and takes him back to 1965 to kill Derek. And like... if he was going to do that anyway, does this mean if nobody did anything and Orton just needed to be sent back to his time, everything was basically pointless? Like, I REALLY hope thereā€™s dialogue clarifying this, because if Professor Time just shows up and goes and kills Derek with Orton anyway, it basically renders the episode pointless, which is pretty unfortunate.
This isnā€™t something I thought about at first, but itā€™s also pretty weird that we have such major information about Doofenshmirtz being dropped here after his show? Others have better articulated thoughts on this than I do, but itā€™s pretty odd. I think it was described to me like it was instead about this persona Doofenshmirtz has invented for himself instead of Doof himself.
- Probably the main thing I was initially disappointed with at first was Candace. At first everything seemed fine. Iā€™ve seen some concern over whether she was in character, but so far everything seemed fine to me. Well, until she was captured. Then she was suddenly gone in the final act, only there to be tied up and turned into a pistachion. Like, the scenes with Candace and Milo seem great already, but then suddenly sheā€™s not important. Sheā€™s basically THE main character of PnF, and sheā€™s a complete non-presence in the final act. I forget if she even had any lines there. And like Isabella, she doesnā€™t show up with the others at the end, except with her it makes sense for her to since she got to know the others.
Seriously, she appears and is in the plot, but then suddenly she doesnā€™t even matter. Itā€™s so messily written. Iā€™ve been discussing her with other people too and they also find it odd that she didnā€™t really have much agency in the plot, which is probably because weā€™re used to her being a protagonist, sheā€™s always there with her own strong plot or character arc for the episode while here sheā€™s merely a supporting character. This isnā€™t her story, sure, but she doesnā€™t exactly get to do much here in terms of actual plot contribution even if she did suggest weaponsing Murphyā€™s Law. I also looked at reactions where she didnā€™t feel too in-character, and while I disagree with the idea overall, I do see that because sheā€™s now a supporting character her defining traits arenā€™t really there? As a result, the lack of character focus means we donā€™t get to explore much of how she feels about this, which I guess people find off because sheā€™s such a strong character who always has some major reactions to things. I felt like her pessimism towards Milo made sense, and I mean overall I didnā€™t think Candace was OOC, but I think itā€™s more that she was just given such a minor role compared to what sheā€™s used to that she didnā€™t get much time to shine beyond the Milo interactions.
Also... her introduction was eh. I did like the shadow gag and I get she was focused on her phone and stuff, but it felt pretty random for her to just show up unassuming of anything going on (I mean, everything is fucking decaying around her lol). Also... Ducky Momo Go. It was such a serious ā€œHOW DO YOU DO FELLOW KIDS?ā€ moment.
- Say, speaking of ā€œHOW DO YOU DO FELLOW KIDS?ā€... Baljeet dabbing. I have no words. BALJEET FUCKING DABBING. WHAT EVEN WAS THAT?
- Baljeet and Buford are... interesting. Baljeet was probably one of the better handled character in my eyes actually. Like, he wasnā€™t too big, but it made sense for a character like him. He had memorable moments interacting with Zack and Melissa (and... THAT), and he actually contributed to the plot by helping figure out how to do the whole Milo mech thing. I definitely want to hear his dialogue for sure. Buford on the other hand was completely pointless narrative wise. He was just there because we gotta have all the main Phineas and Ferb characters so we can have our big reunion and then make him an evil brainwashed nut dude in the climax.
- Alongside Candace the other PnF character I feel really got screwed over was Perry. Again, he shows up and is great (even if I was surprised how short his time with Milo was) and is there doing stuff, but then suddenly heā€™s sideline to the point of basically not even existing. When they go to the island, I forget if heā€™s even there. Doof couldā€™ve used his company I feel. :V And again in the final act, heā€™s only there briefly and then is irrelevant once Phineas sees him. Like, he just shows up, beat up some pistachions, Phineas sees him and then he and Diogee disappear from the episode. We really couldā€™ve used your help against Derek and his machine, Perry. :V And yeah, Diogee is similar. He just is there for a bit and disappears from the episode.
- The Island of Lost Dakotas reveal is something Iā€™m going to have to wait on. The stuff we saw seemed good enough, but Iā€™m definitely going to need the English dialogue to make a true judgement. Iā€™ll say this though: Iā€™m not sure if this was the right place to have this reveal. We didnā€™t get much time exploring Cavendishā€™s reaction before they got the Dakotas as their army to fight the pistachions, I feel like Cavendish discovering the island is something that deserves its own episode focused on it. In general Cavendish and Dakota were good though.
- Phineas and Ferb were mostly fine I feel. I did see some saying Ferbā€™s role felt minor, but I felt like he was at least there enough (and to be fair being the quiet one heā€™s also had this situation before, like in AT2D). That English clip where he saysĀ ā€œnutjobbersā€ just feels off to me though. Like, besides Baljeet, they were actually there doing stuff and had a presence in the story. Milo worked as well I think overall, given heā€™s the protagonist and such. I did like what we saw of their interactions, and of course the idea of using positive PnF energy to weaponise Miloā€™s negative energy was really cool.
- Zack and Melissa are kind of a Buford and Baljeet situation. Melissa was there enough to warrant her presence and she was doing stuff, but Zack didnā€™t really have much of a presence. It wasnā€™t as bad as Buford, but he didnā€™t really have anything to do. Where Melissa and of course Zack fail though is the final act - theyā€™re the other main characters alongside Milo in Milo Murphyā€™s Law, and like Candace their presence was barely there. They didnā€™t really do anything relevant in the final act after being freed except joining the brainwashed nut people horde. They at least were there at the end, but still Iā€™m not exactly satisfied with their roles in the episode.
- All of the other characters were fine even if they were minor I guess. Minor characters are gonna be minor, lol.
- Most of the gags I caught despite the language barrier were funny. As said, I still enjoyed the episode even if I found its handling of the characters quite botched.
- The music department was good, I canā€™t wait to hear both Baljeetā€™s version of Chop Away at my Heart and the Orton and Doof duet. I liked the scoring too, some themes I did recognise from earlier PnF and MML material but some stuff seemed new, Iā€™m not sure if I heard the rock score during the pistachion battle before (around when pnf and milo get the mech and derek is turning their friends into pistachions).
- Animation was fine, I guess? Some stuff looked a bit off but it might have just been lighting or a low budget. I think some of the closer details may be off but Iā€™m not here to nitpick, I didnā€™t find anything super distracting.
- I think the issues with the characters and plotting are down to one big factor: itā€™s a crossover trying to cram too much into 44 minutes, that and also meant to resolve story arcs from Season 1 of Milo Murphyā€™s Law. They wanted to do this big special where all of the PnF and MML characters get to play off each other, but we unfortunately didnā€™t seem to get much of that (though maybe English dialogue will remedy that). Instead of actually getting to compare and contrast the characters and themes of the show, they had to focus on the plot to resolve the pistachion storyline (a plot solved by a deus ex machina no less). As a result, we get something thatā€™s more plot driven than character driven, which is not what a crossover should be.
Also, this only really confirms my fears about Milo Murphyā€™s Law being stuck in Phineas and Ferbā€™s shadow. After seeing something that was this messily written despite being enjoyable, I definitely think Milo Murphyā€™s Law crossed over with Phineas and Ferb too soon. I donā€™t feel like they absolutely needed Phineas and Ferb in this storyline, not when they didnā€™t really get to explore the themes and characters of the respective shows. Itā€™s like they were pushed to have the crossover too early despite always intending to have both shows in the same universe, and thus we get something where the PnF characters are here simply because they have to be instead of it feeling more natural.
Simple things that I think wouldā€™ve made it work better? If they had to do the pistachion storyline, give us less characters. It feels so all over the place and imbalanced. I wouldā€™ve been fine with just Phineas, Ferb and Candace in the A-plot to be honest. Less awkward spreading out thinly and more time devoted to the central characters of each show. But to be honest... I feel like a crossover shouldnā€™t have been plot driven like this. The characters here had to resolve a complex plot instead of getting most of their time to be themselves. They could still have some event to generate conflict of course, but it should be something where the characters interacting gets focus and they drive the story instead of it being something where they have to serve a plot first and all of that comes second.
Also I think it should be acknowledged: like Act Your Age (which I feel has shockingly similar parallels to this situation), I think hype backlash is certainly a possibility in how I feel. Like Iā€™m not gonna lie, I am disappointed. Still though, even if itā€™s a factor, the fact that Iā€™m able to pinpoint the issues I have so easily instead of it just being a vague emotional reaction is a shame.
