You should’ve known things were going to be chaotic the minute you turned onto the street where you grew up. Houston suburbs were excessive, especially during Christmas. There were overly large brick houses lined with lights that doubled the electric bill, inflatable Santas, reindeer, and other decorations fighting for space in every yard. Your parents’ house wasn’t any different: it was a sprawling 4 bedroom home with a front yard cluttered with holiday decorations, lights, and an inflatable football. Your mom swore it was festive enough to win the homeowner’s association holiday contest this year, but they lost to the neighbors across the street for the second year in a row.
“I guess they do it big in Texas, huh?” AurĂ©lien asked while sliding out of the car to stretch his long legs.
“Always” you answered back, reaching to pull a foil pan full of red beans and rice from the backseat. “This isn’t real Texas though baby. You’re about to step right into Louisiana as soon as we get inside the house.”
You weren’t exaggerating. After the hurricane, your entire family packed up and started over in Houston. They may have swapped New Orleans shotgun houses for oversized Texas bricks, but the food, accents, and chaos all came with them. Now, you were dragging your French footballer boyfriend into the chaos so he could see what a Creole Christmas looked like. He was hype for weeks, asking you nonstop questions about the food, NOLA bounce remixes, if your family had any relation to BeyoncĂ©, and if anyone in the family still spoke French.
When you walked inside, the house was alive with uncles yelling at an NFL game on a large tv in the living room. Your cousins were running around playing hide and seek in rooms they knew they weren’t supposed to be running around in. The smell of seafood stock cooking hit your nose first – shrimp shells, water, and various aromatic vegetables and herbs were bubbling in a pot so big it could feed a small army. The kitchen was at max capacity as your grandma barked orders while your aunt Beverly was busy icing a pound cake.
“Y/N, baby!” Your grandma spotted you before you could even set the tin pan down. She quickly washed her hands and waddled over to you to pull you into a hug that smelled like a mix of cajun seasonings and White Diamonds perfume. “You finally brought him back with you! What’s his name..Leon??”
“AurĂ©lien.” you corrected her politely, enunciating it so she could get it right.
AurĂ©lien stepped forward with a polite, meet the family smile while your grandma looked him up and down quickly and then put on the glasses that were sitting on top of her head to get a clearer look. “Hmm..he’s tall. Very handsome too. Your taste ain’t too bad, I’ll give you that. You must’ve got that from me because your mama never picked ‘em right when she was your age.”
“I told y’all he was fine,” one of your aunts added while checking the pecan pie in the oven.
“Nana..auntie..please don’t start” you muttered, trying not to laugh while AurĂ©lien stifled his laughter next to you.
“I’m just saying!” your grandma gave you a dramatic shrug and then turned her attention back to him. “So do you know anything about real football? Not that soccer stuff.”
“Nana!” you hissed, feeling embarrassed by your family already. “He’s literally a professional footballer.”
“Uh huh” she said unimpressed. “I don’t know nothing about that.”
AurĂ©lien grinned, leaning into his perfect boyfriend performance with an almost too good to be true charm. “I know a little bit about NFL. Y/N taught me a few things.”
Your grandma waved him off with a scoff. “Mhm, we’ll see. Don’t let my son hear you say that or he’ll have you on the couch talking about the Saints all night.” Then she turned her attention back to you with a no nonsense look. “Y/N, you’re making the gumbo this year.”
Your stomach dropped. “Wait what?”
“Gumbo. You heard me” she said, already making her way out the kitchen. “You’re always in the kitchen when I make it. Show your boyfriend you know how to cook so he doesn’t go back home thinking we raised you wrong.”
“Nana I’ve never–”
“Better figure it out!” she snapped over her shoulder, dismissing you with a wave. “The stock is on the stove and everything else is over yonder (nearby) in the ice box (fridge). Don’t mess my kitchen up.”
AurĂ©lien looked down at you, amused by your predicament. “You didn’t tell me you were the chef tonight.”
“That’s because I didn’t know” you muttered while the panic set in. You knew your entire family would clown you for years to come if you fucked your grandmother’s gumbo recipe up. They were still talking about the mac and cheese you messed up three years ago by adding cottage cheese, so you couldn’t take any chances this year.
“Okay..” you sighed and tied your braids into a bun as you made your way over to the sink to wash your hands. Before you could even start getting anything accomplished, one of your little cousins, Myles, came yelling and running through the kitchen out of nowhere.
“Y/N! My mom said your boyfriend has money for Robux. Can he buy me some? Pleaseeee?”
“No!” you snapped, holding up a wooden spoon. “And why are you running in here? You know you’re not supposed to be in the kitchen playing!”
“We’re just playing hide and seek,” Myles said while full of sugared adrenaline. “But I’m not hiding in here..I just wanted to see if I could get some robux.”
“Robux your ass out of this kitchen please” you commanded while wrangling him and the rest of your cousins out of the kitchen.
Aurélien cocked his brow, watching you as you ushered your cousins out of the kitchen area.
“Baby.. I can buy them some robux, it’s not that big of a deal.”
“No. He’s always begging for something” you muttered, shoving flour and oil onto the counter.
“Y/N!” your other cousin, Gianna, yelled from the hallway. “Can you fix my hair? My mama bumped the ends and I don’t like it.”
“Girl, I just got here! Ask Nana!”
“She said no,” Gianna pouted, slowly dragging her feet toward the living room.
Your mom appeared from another room with her hands full of empty tin pans, scowling. “Why are y’all yelling in my house like this?” Her eyes landed on AurĂ©lien and she softened immediately. “Hi AurĂ©l. You hungry?”
AurĂ©lien flashed the same smile he used on your grandma, but it worked a lot better on your mom. “No ma’am but thank you. It’s good to see you again.”
“Is my daughter treating you right?” your mom asked with a smile on her face while setting the pans down beside some plates. “I know she can be a little feisty
”
“Wooow
” you rolled your eyes, not believing your ears.
“Is she treating me right?” AurĂ©lien repeated with a laugh, glancing at you as he leaned against the counter. “I have no complaints. She’s perfect for me.”
Your mom raised an eyebrow, amused by his smoothness. “You like that? I guess there’s someone out there for everybody
”
“Mom!” you yelled, reaching for the knob on the stove with an exaggerated huff. “Can y’all chill on me?”
Your mom laughed as she walked toward the living room with the others. “Alright, I’m gone. Don’t mess up the gumbo.”
“Don’t burn the roux Y/N!” Myles shouted from wherever he was hiding.
AurĂ©lien snickered, leaning down to whisper in your ear. “Yeah. Don’t burn the roux baby.”
You gave him a glare, pointing the wooden spoon toward him. “I don’t need your commentary. You’re here to chop vegetables and shut up. Got it?”
“Got it” he raised his hands up dramatically, but was still grinning like he was about to get on your every last nerve.
You turned back to the counter, yanking the fridge open to pull out the holy trinity. Just as you set the onion, celery, and bell pepper on the cutting board, your Aunt Beverly waltzed in with a glass of something that probably had way too much Crown Royal in it.
“Now why do you have this young man standing here looking like a guest?” she asked, plopping her glass down on the counter. “AurĂ©lien you better start chopping! This ain’t Madrid.”
“I was just waiting for my instructions,” AurĂ©lien replied, grabbing a knife. “I’m ready to work auntie.”
“Aww look at him” she cooed, giving you a look. “You better not mess this one up Y/N. He’s fine and he listens. That’s rare.”
You groaned, already regretting bringing him with you for Christmas. “Why is everyone acting like he’s the only man on earth?”
“Nobody said he was,” Aunt Beverly replied, sipping her drink. “But he’s the finest one I’ve seen you bring around.”
AurĂ©lien didn’t even try to hide his smirk. “Thank you auntie.”
“Don’t thank her” you scoffed, shoving the cutting board closer to him. “Just chop.”
Before you could get into a good rhythm of chopping and stirring, Gianna came storming back in the kitchen, looking even more dramatic than before.
“Y/N!” she whined. “Pleaseeee fix my hair. Look at me!”
You glanced over at her, narrowing your eyes over the bumped ends while you tried not to laugh. “Gigi, you don’t need your hair fixed. It looks fine.” You were lying, she really looked like she worked in management at a call center.
“No it doesn’t!” she cried, stomping her foot. “I look like James Brown!”
You almost burst out laughing so you turned your head back to the stove, tucking your lips in to hide your smile while waving her off. “Just go sit down somewhere.”
“Fine” she huffed, stomping back toward the living room. “I’m telling Nana you’re being mean.”
“Tell her! I don’t care!” you yelled back, very unbothered.
AurĂ©lien was at the counter chopping celery while all of this went down, but you saw him chuckling quietly to himself during the ordeal like this was the most entertaining family he had ever seen. “Do you talk to all of them like that? Is that normal?”
“Only when they act like this
” you muttered, dumping a pile of chopped onions into a bowl. “Which is every time I come home.”
“Your family is funny..I like them.”
“Just chop” you repeated while shaking your head. You were anxious your family would have scared him off by now, but knowing he was enjoying every second gave you butterflies.
While chopping, the sound of the NFL game blaring loudly in the background was interrupted by your uncle shouting, “Y/N! You know what you doing in there? It smells like something’s burning.”
You hadn’t even started cooking yet, and somehow your uncle was smelling phantom scents. You rolled your eyes again, ignoring his comments while you poured oil in the pan. A slow grin crept up AurĂ©lien’s face when he saw how annoyed you were getting. “Burning the gumbo already?”
You whipped your head around, pointing the spoon at him. “Don’t start with me.”
With a heavy sigh, you turned your attention back toward the pan and swirled the oil around under the heat as you slowly added in flour. The roux was a life or death situation; you were either going to be a Creole princess, or your family would be on your neck for the rest of the night.
AurĂ©lien stood close to you, leaning in with curiosity in his eyes. “So how do we do this? What’s the plan?”
“The plan is to stir this until its the color of dark chocolate” you said while moving the spoon in a steady circular pattern. “If I stop stirring it’ll burn and get all clumpy. After that, we add the veggies we just chopped to let it sautĂ©, and then we add everything else and let it simmer.”
He nodded, leaning against the counter to watch you. “That’s simple enough.”
“It’s really not” you replied with your eyes locked on the pan. “And you’re distracting me already, so stop.”
“Baby I’m just standing here.” he smirked. “You’re that easily distracted?”
“No.” you shot back, side eyeing him for a split second. You were that easily distracted when he was around, but you weren’t about to admit to it.
“Are you sure?” He dropped his tone, teasing you. “Why are you gripping the spoon so tight?”
“Because I need to keep stirring..” you muttered while refusing to look at him.
“Hmm.” He paused, leaning in to whisper in your ear. “I know something else that grips like that. And it tastes good too.”
You froze for a second and then snapped your head toward him with your eyes wide. “AurĂ©lien!”
“What?” he asked innocently, but his smirk was far from innocent. “I’m just being honest.”
“Stop” you voiced in a tight tone.
“Stop what?” he asked, sliding his hand to your hip.
“That.” you hissed, smacking his hand away with your free one. “I’m not fucking the roux up because you wanna play around.”
“I think you like it though..”
You were going to fire back but then your dad’s voice cut through the kitchen. “What’s it looking like in here?” Both of you stiffened when your dad walked in the kitchen with a drink in hand, eyeing both of you.
AurĂ©lien straightened up and moved his hands back to his sides like he’d been caught. “It’s going well sir. She’s doing a good job.”
“Hmm” you dad walked up to the stove with his brows knitted in nothing but judgement while he stared at the roux. “Still looks too light to me.”
“It’s not ready yet!” you answered back defensively, tired of everyone getting onto you about the roux.
Your dad took a sip of his drink and shook his head. “I don’t know if I want to eat what you’re cooking
”
“Then don’t” you said under your breath so he wouldn’t hear you. Eventually, he wandered back toward another room. As soon as he was out of earshot, AurĂ©lien leaned on the counter, smirking.
“You look good in that dress, baby.”
“AurĂ©lien....”
“What?” he teased, dropping his voice. “I can’t compliment my girlfriend?”
You huffed a breath and continued stirring the roux as it turned from a caramel color to a rich dark chocolate shade. “Not now.”
He stood behind you, towering over you as he brushed his lips up against your ear. “Later then?”
“Maybe
” you kept stirring with a vengeance, trying not to reveal how flustered he had you.
When the roux finally finished, you let out a small sigh of relief. You had one hurdle down, but the gumbo was nowhere near being finished. You pushed the spoon against the sides of the pan to check the consistency to make sure it was smooth and velvety instead of clumpy.
AurĂ©lien hovered over you, smiling like he was the one doing all the work this whole time. “You said it’s supposed to look like dark chocolate, right? Looks like it’s done.”
“Mmhmm.” You grabbed holy trinity mixture and tossed it into the pan with a satisfying sizzle and the aroma hit immediately.
He leaned in closer. “Smells good already.”
“It’s not even half done yet.” you said, pushing him back with your hip as you reached for the seasonings. You added cajun seasonings, thyme, and bay leaves into the pot. You reached for garlic powder, but AurĂ©lien grabbed it first and held it out of your reach with another smirk on his face.
“Really?” you asked, giving him a look.
“I’m trying to help” he replied while sprinkling garlic powder in the pot like he was a pro chef before handing it back.
You rolled your eyes, dumping the rest of the ingredients into the pot while stirring. Aurélien watched you like he was mesmerized.
“Baby you look so good right now.”
“I’m literally sweating and I probably smell like filĂ© powder so why are you lying?” you tried to keep your tone light but the look in his eye had you ready to bend over the countertop.
“I’m not. You look good.” He stepped closer to you and brushed his hand on the lower curve of your back. He tilted his head and traced small patterns against your dress. “And you keep bending over that pot like you want something else
”
“AurĂ©lien.” you warned again, but it sounded more like a whine because his hand slid up to your hip at the same time.
“You’re doing such a good job baby.” he coaxed while gripping your hip to pull you up against him. If he wanted to play, you could too – so you lightly grinded up against him while the gumbo simmered on the stove.
You could feel his breath hitch against your neck as he kissed you there, lightly nibbling on the skin. “Keep doing that.”
You pressed against him even more while his hands roamed over your dress. Just as you were about to push him off of you, the sound of your aunts’ voice drifted into the kitchen from the dining room. They were in a very loud and animated gossip session, so naturally both you and AurĂ©lien froze in place to start eavesdropping.
“Girl have you seen Linda lately?” Your Aunt Kim’s voice cut through the kitchen.
“Who ain’t seen her?” Aunt Beverly shot back. “She’s all over town riding around in every man’s car but her husband’s. Makes no damn sense.”
“Chileeee
” Aunt Kim said with a dramatic drawl. “She has the nerve to be in church every sunday talking about the lord is her shepherd while she’s creeping with half the deacons.”
“Half?!” Aunt Bev cackled so loud it made AurĂ©lien’s eyebrows shoot up. “Girl she’s hitting the men’s choir and the ushers too. And then she has the nerve to come in there with her wig sitting like a top hat. Baby, secure that wig first, then worry about your next man.”
“Not a top hat!” Aunt Kim howled. “She looks like she’s leading a marching band!”
“Mhm. I might tell you a joke but I’ll never tell you a lie” Aunt Bev continued cackling.
Your hand shot up over your mouth to keep from laughing as AurĂ©lien leaned closer to you, confused. “What are they saying?” he whispered.
You leaned back into him, trying to explain without bursting into laughter. “They’re talking about the pastor’s wife. Apparently she’s been messing around with men who aren’t her husband. And her wig game is real bad.”
AurĂ©lien’s face twisted with disbelief. “So she’s cheating and her wig is crooked? That’s crazy.”
You nodded with tears threatening to spill from how hard you were trying to hold back your laughter. “I swear nobody is safe in this family. They come for everybody.”
“She’s gonna end up in somebody’s sermon if she keeps it up” Aunt Kim said, taking a sip of her drink. “And I’m not saying a damn thing when it happens.”
“Nothing?” Aunt Bev smacked her lips. “Please. You’ll be the first one to say something. You haven’t been quiet a day in your life.”
Both women burst into a fit of laughter and you finally shoved AurĂ©lien off so you could work on plating the gumbo over a bed of white rice. When you were finally done, you called everyone into the dining room. The table was already overloaded with food, but the gumbo was the star of the show. You set the bowls down in front of everyone, ready to hear everyone’s reactions.
“Alright” your grandma said as she sat at the head of the table. “Let’s see if my grandbaby did my gumbo any justice.”
Everyone started digging in and you heard the occasional “Mmm!” of approval from mostly everyone. You noticed your dad had his bowl of gumbo off to the side and he reached for some oxtail instead.
“You’re not gonna try it?” you asked.
He shrugged, unphased. “I don’t eat gumbo unless your Nana makes it. Especially if it has seafood in it. You know that.”
“Wow.” You crossed your arms, glaring at him. “You’re really going to do your daughter like that?”
Your dad glanced up at you with a smirk. “The last time you made a main dish for Christmas, you put cottage cheese in the mac and cheese. I don’t trust it.”
The whole table erupted in laughter, including AurĂ©lien as he tried to cover his mouth. A look of defeat appeared on your face and you slumped in your chair. “I saw it on tiktok.”
“Tiktok doesn’t belong in the kitchen on Christmas day. Do that on your own time.” your grandma shook her head, cracking a crab leg to retrieve the meat inside.
When AurĂ©lien dipped his spoon into the gumbo to take his first bite, his eyes widened. “Mmm” he hummed low and deep in his chest, dragging out the sound as his tongue darted to catch a stray bit of broth on his bottom lip. You froze mid bite, hovering your spoon over your bowl as he let out another groan of appreciation.
“This is so good,” he murmured in a smooth voice. His eyes were locked on yours the entire time, and the corner of his mouth curved into a smirk. “Baby you really did this.”
“It’s just gumbo” you tried to keep your voice even, feeling heat creeping up your skin.
“No,” he said, dipping his spoon back in for another bite. His gaze stayed on you as he savoured it, swiping his tongue across his lips in a teasing way. “This is perfect. I see why you were gripping that spoon now.”
You shifted in your seat, squeezing your legs together while your family was oblivious to the way your boyfriend was dismantling every bit of composure in you.
“AurĂ©lien” you hissed low enough so no one else could hear. “You need to chill.”
“I’m just enjoying your cooking baby” he said, leaning in closer and dropping his voice just for you. “And thinking about what else you’re good at.”
Your spoon clattered on the bowl and you reached for your glass of water, downing it like you were dying of thirst. AurĂ©lien’s hand slipped under the table, brushing against your bare thigh. “You okay?” he asked while continuing to rub your thigh in gentle strokes.
You glared at him, feeling the pool of heat in your core increase from his touch. “No. I’m really not.”
AurĂ©lien didn’t stop his torturous strokes on your thigh as his fingers slipped a little higher. It was taking everything in you to control yourself and push his hand away, but you really wanted to grab it and pull it closer. Your family was still as loud as ever, conversing around the table and had no idea what was happening. Your uncles were arguing about the NFL game with one of your aunts, your grandma was fussing with Myles about trying to sneak a piece of cake before finishing all of his food, and your mom was going on about how she needed better lights next year in order to win the HOA decor competition.
Literally nobody was paying attention to you, and AurĂ©lien took it to his advantage. He brushed his lips against your ear and whispered, “You’re tense baby. Maybe I should help you relax in a bit.”
“Let’s go.” you said under your breath, unable to take it anymore.
“Now?”
You shot him a look. “Now.”
AurĂ©lien didn’t need to be told twice and stood up first, excusing himself from the table with an exaggerated excuse about how he needed to stretch his legs so his muscles wouldn’t get too stiff during the holiday break. It was bullshit, but either way nobody cared. You followed a few seconds later, pretending you needed to refill your glass of water.
When you met him in the hallway, his hand immediately hiked your dress up, gripping your hips from underneath while his lips met yours in a messy kiss. His tongue slid against yours as you arched your body into him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
“Your room?” he whispered against your lips, already leading you down the hall. You nodded but you could barely think straight when his lips started trailing down your neck. When you reached the door of your bedroom, you pushed it open quickly, expecting an empty bed but you froze in place when you saw someone’s random baby was asleep.
“Who.. whose baby is that?” AurĂ©lien asked in a hushed tone, baffled.
“I don’t even know” you whispered back, shutting the door as quietly as possible before you started laughing.
You wasted no time grabbing his hand and pulling him toward the bathroom. Once you were inside, you locked the door and leaned back against it with a seductive smirk on your face. “We have about five minutes before someone starts looking for us.”
“Then we better not waste it” he said, sliding your dress back up around your hips. You palmed his dick over his jeans, stroking it against the fabric to make him hard while his hand found their way between your thighs. You couldn’t help the whimper that escaped from you when his fingers started teasing you through your panties. His lips moved from your jaw, then to your neck and you tilted back against the door to give him more access.
“AurĂ©liennn” you whispered in a voice shaky as you dug your nails into his arm.
“You need to be quiet for me baby” His voice was low and filled with lust. “Shhhh.”
You nodded, but his fingers slipped under your panties and met with your wetness, causing you to let out a soft, desperate moan. He smirked against your neck, teasing your skin with the warmth of his voice.
“I said be quiet for me.”
You bit your lip to hold back but he wasn’t making it easy for you at all. He had two fingers inside of you while his thumb rubbed your clit, teasing you until your legs started to shake.
“Please” you whispered, still clutching his arm while you struggled to keep it together quietly.
He pulled back enough to look you in the eyes with a smug expression on his face. “Please what?”
“Please” you repeated, voice trembling with want. “Just hurry.” You gripped the belt loop of his jeans with your hand, quickly unzipping his jeans so you could speed the process up. You really didn’t have much time and you were not about to risk not having the orgasm that was pent up and wavering, ready for release.
AurĂ©lien leaned into your ear, arrogantly whispering in your ear. “You were clenching that spoon like you needed something else to hold onto. I’m about to give you something better.”
“Shut up” you muttered, already struggling to keep composure.
“You don’t want me to shut up” he whispered, brushing his lips against your neck as he spoke. “You love this too much. Tell me how good I feel.”
You gripped his shoulders to steady yourself. “You feel so good,” you whimpered. “But we don’t have time.”
“I don’t care” he cut you off, thrusting his fingers inside you with calculation. Your mouth fell open in a silent gasp as he filled you with his fingers, curving just right in a certain spot that made your legs week. “Take it, baby. Good girl.”
You bit your lip to keep quiet but he was driving you wild. His thumb pressed against your clit, swirling with just the right amount of pressure to make your breath quicken into rapid gasps.
“AurĂ©lien I can’t” you hissed quietly.
“You will” he growled, pulling his fingers out and flipping you around so the front of your body was pressed against the door. His hand smacked your ass and you gasped, feeling the sting disperse from pain to pleasure. “Don’t cum until I say so.”
“Okay” you breathed with your cheek pressed against the door as he yanked your panties down. You heard him pull his jeans down and the anticipation made you shake a little. AurĂ©lien lined his dick up against you, pushing inside you in one deep stroke. You clenched around him the minute he was inside and a mewl escaped your throat.
“Damn. You’re squeezing me already? You don’t even want me to move yet?”
“Move.” you pleaded in a barely steady voice. “Please move.”
“In a rush?” He smirked against your shoulder, pulling out slowly before deep stroking back in. The door rattled under his force and he grabbed your hip to steady you. “You want it like that?”
“It’s too loud” you whined, still trying to catch your breath.
“You’re too loud” he shot back, gripping your neck to tilt your head back. His lips brushed up against your ear as he whispered in your ear. “Be quiet or you won’t get to cum tonight.”
The pressure in your core was building fast and he hadn’t even fucked you like he meant it just yet. You bit your lip hard, trying to quiet your moans. His thrusts were deep, hard and merciless with each one hitting deeper than the last. When he reached around to rub your clit again, your legs started shaking.
“I wanna cum” you whimpered in a broken voice. “AurĂ©lien I can’t hold it.”
“Yes you can” he commanded with his grip tightening on your hip as he stilled his movements to an infuriating pace. “You’re my good girl, right? Hold it for me.”
Your whole body was shaking from the intensity of it, you could feel the coil threatening to spring free with every second. “I can’t,” you whispered with tears in your eyes. “Please let me–”
Your orgasm hit you before you could warn him again or finish your sentence. Your body spasmed and a rush of wetness made a mess on your thighs and his. He froze and looked down before letting out a filthy groan. “Aah, fuck” he hissed, smacking your ass again which made you cry out. “Look at you making a mess all over me. Didn’t I tell you not to cum?”
“I’m sorry” you gasped, still trembling from the aftershocks. He didn’t stop and gripped your hips tighter, thrusting into you harder to drag you to another wave of pleasure that had you reaching behind to try and warn him again.
“You like that? You like being punished for not listening??” His voice was raw as he fucked you into a dickmatized state. “I want you to cum again but you gotta wait for me baby.”
At this point your legs were nearly giving out and your body was barely holding it together as he pushed you closer to another orgasm. His hand slipped around your throat, squeezing lightly. “Tell me you want me to fill you up.”
“Fill me up,” you begged, barely audible. “I want it.”
He thrust into you erratically, burying himself deep inside you as he came while trying to keep his groans quiet. You felt the warmth of his cum and the sensation sent you spiralling into another orgasm even more intense than the last. Your whole body shook as you clung to the doorknob next to you, gasping. When he finally pulled out, you were both a sweaty, breathless, wrecked mess. Your legs were still shaking and some of your braids had fallen out of the bun you tied earlier. Aurélien smirked, brushing a stray braid out of your face and leaned in to kiss you softly.
“I love you” he smiled, looking at you in a teasing way.
“Um..are you sure??? I can’t believe you just fucked me like that
” You were still trying to catch your breath and get rid of the ringing in your ear after all that. You wiped a stray tear from your eye as you freshened up the best way you could. AurĂ©lien’s quickie had you exhausted and ready for a nap after just one tiny round. When you exited the bathroom, you tried to keep it together, but you couldn’t even walk properly.
You stepped out of the bathroom first, trying to act as normal as possible while adjusting your dress. Aurélien followed behind you, looking way more put together than you did. Judging by his smirk, he knew exactly the type of predicament he put you in. The moment you walked back into the living room, all conversation stopped and several pairs of eyes locked on you. You barely made it to the couch before your family started pouncing on you like you were prime entertainment. Aunt Bev tilted her head and squinted at you like you owed her an explanation.
“Y/N, why are you walking like that? What’s wrong with you?”
You tried to wave her off as you sank into the couch, crossing your legs like that would make you any less of a target. “I’m fine auntie. Just tired.”
“Tired?” Your grandma’s voice cut through the room. She peered at you over the rim of her glasses, full of suspicion. “You sick or something? You look sweaty.”
“I’m not sweaty!” you shot back, running a hand over your face out of instinct.
“Uh, yes you are” Gianna piped up from across the room with her bumped ends still unbumped. “Why are you shiny like that? You was in there doing push ups?”
“Gigi!” you snapped in a cracked voice as AurĂ©lien strolled past you to grab another bowl of gumbo. Myles came skipping over, still fueled with sugar. He stopped right in front of you and scrunched his face up in confusion. “Why your hair look like that? You look a mess.”
Your hand flew to your head, gripping the loose braids that fell from the bun you thought you tied carefully. “Myles, mind your business!” you yelled, trying to tuck the braids back in while your family cackled.
“I told y’all she was sick” your grandma said while shaking her head as if you had offended her. “Sweating. Hair messed up. Tired. She’s acting like she just ran a marathon and she hasn’t done anything."
“Could’ve climbed a big, tall mountain” Aunt Bev added in with a knowing smirk while sipping her drink.
“Or fell out of a tree” Gianna chimed in, snickering like she was hilarious when it really wasn’t all that funny to you.
“Or got hit by a truck” Myles added with dramatics, which earned a loud laugh from your Aunt Kim.
“Leave her alone” she said, waving her fork at the group before she turned to you. “Seriously though, what were you doing back there? You’re sweating like a whore in church.”
You couldn’t even formulate a proper defense before someone else chimed in, but this time it was your dad who was sitting comfortably in his recliner. “She probably fucked the gumbo up just like I said. I ain’t even touch it. I wasn’t in the mood for one of her little experiments today.”
Your jaw dropped as the entire room started laughing at you. Aurélien was silently enjoying every second of it and finally decided to save you, or so he thought. He leaned against the wall while eating his second helping of gumbo.
“Her gumbo is the best I ever had.”
Aunt Bev raised a brow, slyly smiling as she looked between you and AurĂ©lien. “Mmhmm” she hummed, dragging it out while leaning back in her chair.
“I bet it is.”

Realized how much of my anxiety and depression came from the stresses of modern life. That week in September where I had covid and wasn't expected to do anything except sleep, be in the basement by myself, and take my meds was the happiest fucking week of my life

“We’re on it
” MV’1 (draft)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary- in which your families are wondering when will there be a baby Verstappen. 💚
warning- fluff, slightly suggestive towards the end🙊 sorry for bad grammar
a/n- okay hear me out, this is just a random thought that came to my head and I had to write it down, FEEL FREE TO REQUEST đŸ’™â€ïž
Arriving at your parents house you sat the stuff Max and you had brought on the table and started greeting your parents and his parents. Suddenly there were a bunch on happy screams as your two nephews came in running with their toy figures. At the kitchen table there was Max’s close friend with his 1-year old and the other reason why you and Max came for the gathering was to meet your sister’s new baby girl.
You grabbed Max’s hand pulling him to the living room where she was, seeing her with the little one in her arms she was so tiny and looked so fragile you had a huge smile on your face. As you started asking your sister how she felt and how she needed to get more rest you feel Max kiss your head as he left to the Kitchen to grab something. Letting it slide you sitting next to your sister as she carefully passes the baby to your arms. To be honest you were scared of holding her too tight or to afraid to drop her, you gently fixed the blanket on her and heard her soft little sounds. Giggling quietly you smile at her rubbing your nose against her little one.
“Have you and Max talked about having one of your own?” your sister asked bringing a blush to your cheeks.
“Oh well
we haven’t really covered the topic
but I would love to have one
I think he just needs some time he’s focused on his f1 career and I don’t want to pressure him either
” you say smiling softly, keeping Max in your mind at all times.
Yes, you wanted in fact you had always dreamed of having a baby with Max but you didn’t know if he did too and you were to scared to bring up the topic.
Hearing Max’s voice say your name you quickly look up nervous that he had heard the conversation but luckily he didn’t.
“hey love
I brought you water” he said setting the water bottle down sitting next to me, I hummed happily kissing his cheek thanking him.
Slowly his eyes shifted to the baby in my arms. His lips formed a gentle smile and seemed curious.
“Y/n come help me with the table!” your mother yelled making you look towards the kitchen but Max stopped you
“No I’ll go love, enjoy your time here” he said pecking your lips making you giggle watching him smile as he went to the kitchen and started helping your mom. There was no doubt that Max was perfect and that you wanted to stay with him for the rest of your life.
‱ ‱ ‱ ‱
During dinner Max had intertwined his fingers with yours making you giggle. While eating your delicious mom’s food Max’s best friend brought up a really embarrassing question, which made your eyes go wide and Max’s face go red.
“So Max! Are you and Y/n working on a baby?” he asked smiling wiggling his eyebrows at him.
“Oh yes sweetie you should have a little one!” your mom added making you give her a nervous look.
“Um
well
” you started
“We’re on it
” Max said making your head turn to him with a shocked expression.
“What? M-Max
” you whispered softly before looking at your family blushing hard.
“Oh that is nice sweetheart! I can’t wait to see your cute baby!” Your mom said smiling at both as you smile back as the butterflies in your stomach were wild.
‱ ‱ ‱ ‱
After an interesting dinner you helped your moms clean up the kitchen before coming back out smiling at your nephews. As they giggled you playfully chase them back into the living room quickly stopping holding their hands quieting them down.
“we need to be quiet okay you little monsters?” you say as they nodded and left but you were shock at what you were seeing.
Max was carrying your sister’s baby.
He looked so nice! It was perfect for him. He was smiling at the little one in his arms to which she looked way smaller in his arms and she was sleeping so softly you couldn’t blame her Max’s embrace was the warmest and safest of them all. Going closer to him you rest your head on his shoulder gently holding his arm.
“did you actually mean it?” I asked in a soft voice as I felt him smile looking up at him.
“Of course I did
I know we’ve never talked about it but
I think I also want a little one
I don’t mind taking care of your sister’s baby but I want a baby Verstappen” he joked making you laugh.
“Here I’ll hold her
where did my sister go?” I asked rocking the baby softly as Max stood next to me looking up to the floor upstairs.
“she said she needed to get the baby’s change of clothes” he said as his hand rested on my waist. The baby looked at us with her big eyes before drifting back to sleep.
“So
are you free tonight?” he whispered in my ear as his eyes glanced around making sure no one was around.
“for what?
oh my god Max shhh” you said blushing hard before looking at him.
“no
I don’t think so” you whispered sneaking a wink at him.
“perfect
we should get working before we go to Vegas” he said gently moving his hand to my hip smiling teasingly at me as you elbowed him gently.

this is short and doesn’t really have a plot, but it was random so hope you like it 📚 💕

series masterlist
Tumblr media
"I DONT THINK I've ever seen anything like this before.
Keeping her eyes still on the cereal box, Y/N ignored the way her parents were gawking at the flowers that stood all dried up and old in a water bottle near the windows of the kitchen.
"They seem pretty dead to me." She chewed her food throughly, swallowing down slowly as her parents ignored her, keeping their attention on her sister.
"How is it possible for a dead flower to create a new one in a plastic bottle...last night when I brought it out I didn't see anything strange with it but as soon as I was going to throw it out, I noticed the new stems."
Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of annoyance when her sister spoke.
Her sister annoyed her to the core no matter what she did. Maybe it was because she grew up with her older sister getting everything handed to her or maybe just the way she spoke sort of ticked her off. Like an annoying bug you can’t get rid of because you can’t find it so it’s endless buzzing continues in your space, almost in a mocking way.
"It's like new beginnings can happen anywhere, you know? This little rose was so close to dying, but this little new flower will continue its legacy."
"Oh my gosh, how much more cliche can you get? It's a fucking flower, it's natural for it to grow. Stop getting into your little dramatic theories all the time with stuff like this."
Y/N spat, placing her spoon down as she watched the way her sister bit back her remark, because deep down she knew exactly how her parents would react.
Her mother gasped, obviously shocked that her quiet child would speak like that to her poor sweet daughter who said something so beautiful.
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
The younger girl held back the urge to roll her eyes as she got up and walked back upstairs to her room.
Y/N was a smart and gentle girl, but the people she lived with made it impossible for her to be truly happy.
She was used to it at this point. She would get lectured over every little thing wether it be wrong or right. Hiding away in her room was what made her feel less insane but they still had something to say about that.
"You never talk with us anymore. You're shutting us out so much, do you not love us anymore? Am I a bad mother to you?"
Every time her mother said that, it resulted in her getting yelled at by her drunk father to stop being such a burden and a bitch to her mother while her sister was busy else where.
When can I finally be happy?
Flopping onto her bed, she snuggled deeper into her sheets as a few tears went down her plump cheeks.
This poor 17 year old girl was truly going through it. Her father was rarely home but when he was, he would always remind her how miserable their lives became ever since she was born.
They were always low on money and could barely afford some things, but while her sister was busy buying things for her own benefit, Y/N was busy trying to meet ends meet, yet she was still the burden of the family.
It wasn't fair how easily her sister gotten their love. They sacrificed so much money just for her sister to throw away the things they've gotten her the next day.
She just wanted to feel like she was appreciated or cared for. Wasn't it her parents' job to support her? Her father's job to protect her from any harm but here he is, hurting her the most before any man ever did.
Didn't her mother have to give her advice on her future and given compassion that she will make it far in life instead of being shamed for being a bit (bigger/smaller) than everyone else around her and that no man would ever love her?
And her sister, wasn't her sister supposed to be her best friend who would be there no matter what? But here she is, getting backstabbed by her own flesh and blood.
Y/N was getting so exhausted. Her life was barely starting, and she was already considering leaving so soon.
Am I too...much of a burden to be loved, even by my own family?
Y/N flinched from a rough knock on her window, making her sit up and fix herself up as she saw who it was.
"Katsuki what the hell are you doing here? If my parents find out you're here..."
"Babe, shut up and let me kiss you."
❁ ❁ ❁
Katsuki groaned as he felt something slam into his stomach which resulted in him staggering back.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry, Mr! Oh wait, mama look!!! It's Mr. Dynamight!"
Katsuki looked down and sighed a bit as he saw a young girl in her tweens looking up at him in awe.
"Can I get your autograph,sir?"
"Kassie what did I say about being disrespectful. I'm so sorry, Dynamight."
He shook his head at the mother and signed the girl's journal.
He felt his heart stop as he saw it was one of (Y/N)’s books, her signature being right next to where the girl wanted katsuki to write.
Katsuki blocked out the people’s voices completely as he felt his chest rise up and down, a single tear leaving his eye which he quickly wiped away.
"Here kid." He passed the beautiful book that he had millions of, hidden away in his office, back to the little girl and quickly fled the scene.
As he walked back to his agency, he continued to feel the heavy ache in his heart.
No matter how much time had passed and the years flew by since the incident, he still heavily mourned for his first love every single time someone mentioned her.
It was stupid he thought. She was famous, he was famous, people asking him about her was bound to happen, or situations like this where he catches a glimpse of her book that wasn’t one that he owned, having to relive that she was taken so soon. She had so much to live for, her story just began.
He found it unfair how she could finish so many incredible stories yet never could finish her own.
He felt so selfish right now. He still couldn't move forward even if he had someone important in his life now and even a child of his own.
He will and always will be hers.

How do we tell our son?
Y/N, Buck, and Eddie leaned on the kitchen island, watching Christopher play his video game.
"So, how are you two planning on telling him?"
"Yes, Eddie, how are you planning on telling your son?"
"Oh, so he's my son now."
"He's been your son since he was born. I inherited him just a year and some change ago."
"Yeah, this one's on you."
"Why don't you tell him?"
"And have him hate his favorite Uncle Buck? Not a chance. Have you even tested the waters on this conversation yet?"
"I asked him if he liked Y/N once."
"And?"
"And he asked if he could have his sleepover party at your place, and I had to tell him no because I was horny and we were fighting, and I didn't want him and his friends to wake up to us
. doing us. You know how much I love angry sex."
"Was that when you brought Chris to Maddie's, and we did that thing with the rope and the nipple clamp
"
Eddie stood behind Y/N, signaling Buck to stop, but it was too late.
"You what?"
"Bebe. I'm sorry-"
"Edmundo. Diaz."
"Somebody's in trouble."
"Not helping Buck."
"Are you serious? That was supposed to be our thing. The one thing that we didn't share with Buck. We share clothes, food, beds, but not that."
"I was upset, and I'm so sorry. Can you forgive me for the sake of our son?"
"Yes, just because you said "our son," and it sounds so nice when you say it."
"If you like that, you should hear me call my husband's name."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
Eddie and Y/N were chest to chest. They would have burned down the building if their sexual tension were a fire.
"You mean we could live with Y/N forever? Awesome!"
Y/N and Eddie look at the sofa to Christopher and Buck looking back at them.
"I helped."
"Dad, when do we move to Papa's house?"
"I thought you liked living here."
"I do, but Papa has a park across the street, and last time, he told me that he would teach me how to play basketball so I could beat a meatball."
"A meatball?"
"You are looking a little beefier than usual."
"Me? You think you two can beat me?"
"You are a man of many talents, but basketball is not one of them."
Y/N pats Eddie on his shoulder, earning a disheartened frown. Chris turns around to resume his game, and Buck enters the kitchen to refill his water bottle.
"Great, now that's over. Now, all you have to do is tell the crew."
"You didn't tell the 118?"
"No, I thought you did."
"Why would I tell them you spend all day with them?"
"Who doesn't know? Hen knows that means Chim knows; therefore, Maddie knows."
"Buck knows."
"Ravi was your best man, so if he doesn't know, he's more of a himbo than me."
"Bobby knows from our anniversary dinner."
"Did you tell Athena?"
"No, she scares me. But she's not stupid she has to know."
"How about this? At the Halloween party, just announce it. You'll have everyone in the same room and only have to do it once."
"That's not a bad idea."
"Look at you, Buck-a-roo."
"I help."
Buck smiles like a puppy dog, receiving a cheek rub from Y/N as his face falls in thought.
"Same room?"
"What? What's wrong now?"
"The holidays. Last year, we were in Cancun with the crew for Thanksgiving, and-"
"You were in the hospital for Christmas."
"So, which family gets what holiday?"
"My family hates Thanksgiving, so we do Christmas in Texas."
"My family will kill me and send a search party for me if I miss a New York Christmas two years in a row."
"You are just adding to the headcannon."
"Here we go again."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Eddie thinks I'm in a mafia family just because I'm a New York Italian."
"Your father's name is Don. You have a weird fascination with gold chains and wearing sunglasses all day, you have a cousin named Vinny, you call people meatball, you said they called you Baby Gambino when you were a kid-"
"Because I was a chubby kid and snuck off to our family's bakery..."
"It's not just a bakery; it's bakeries, meat markets, pizzerias, wine shops, grocery stores, and that's just the stuff you've mentioned."
"... and I don't know how many times I have to tell you my father's name is John, but with his accent, it sounds like Don. You know what, how about you ask him? We do Thanksgiving in Texas and Christmas in New York, and when we're all at the table, you can ask him in front of my whole family."
"Maybe I will."
"If you want to die."
Y/N playfully nudges Buck into a light chuckle.

Hey peeps, so this is an idea that randomly came to me, especially since today April 26 would have been my dog Toni’s 17 birthday who passed away a year and half ago. I based the puppy’s appearance off of her as she was a blonde miniature poodle and she also loved cuddles too.
Now here’s the summary: You and your wife Melissa get a puppy for the first time. The puppy and Melissa form an instant attachment but slowly the puppy starts taking over all of Melissa’s time and attention and leaving you behind.
Now don’t yell at me and say I turned up the angst too much, I may have gone to the extreme but stuff like this does happen, especially with dogs who were found on the street or born with anxiety and they tend to overly bond with one person.
Puppy Crazy
Warnings: lots of angst but happy ending I promise *pinky swear*
Words: 3.3k
Tumblr media
You and Melissa stare at all the puppies at the shelter. You both have always wanted one and now you’re here to adopt one.
“Any catching your interest?” You ask her.
“That blonde one who seems to like cuddling the other.” She says and you look at the one she’s talking about.
“You want a little cuddler?” You ask with a quirked eyebrow.
“Ya, that way they’ll like me cause I like cuddles too.” She says and you pout.
“I thought I was your little cuddler.” You tell her and she giggles at your response.
“You are, and there’s always room for another in the house.” She tells you and gives you a side hug.
“The blonde one is cute. What would you name her?”
“Eleanora.” She says and you look at her.
“It’s beautiful, what does it mean?” You ask, knowing her family only picks out names carefully due to their meaning.
“Shining light.” She says and you look at the little blonde cuddler and then back at her.
“It’s perfect.”
The person at the shelter goes and picks up the blonde miniature poodle puppy carefully and brings her out. The little puppy is a bit shy, understandable, but she lets you take her home, deeming you’re not a threat.
You stop at the pet store though and little Elea (her first nickname) was so excited. She met a few other dogs there and she attempted to play with them, a couple of them played with her. You got her a collar that fit and a name tag, you got a leash for her as well. You brought her down the toy aisle and Elea picked out a bunch, pretty much whatever she grabbed or pawed at you put in the cart. She helped pick out her new beds, although you drew a line at the ones that were meant for large dogs as you doubt Elea will be more than 15 pounds. You then got her food, food bowls, a toy basket and treats. You also bought a thing of pee pads as she isn’t housebroken yet as she’s 10 weeks old and some poo bags.
Elea stayed on your lap, cautiously, for most of the ride home. It was a nice day so you ended up putting the window down at red lights and she stuck her little nose out and she started sniffing the air.
Once you enter your home, Elea stayed near you or Melissa as it was a space she didn’t know. You guys got to work and you put out her food and water bowl, you filled the water bowl first. The worker at the shelter said she’ll need to eat as she’ll be skipping her dinner time, so you also filled her kibble bowl. Elea munched on her puppy kibble happily as you and Melissa got her things set up. You put the toy basket beside the couch and put most of the toys in there and brought the rest upstairs. You put the leash near the door with your keys and you put her name tag on the collar. You put the treats and kibble in the pantry, and you put 2 beds downstairs, one in the living room and one in the dining room, and the third one upstairs in your bedroom. You then placed a couple pee pads around but knew you’d put them down where she decides to pee later on.
Once Elea finished eating, she started sniffing around and found her toys and pulled most of them out. Melissa found the sight so cute as her little tail was wagging the whole time. Melissa got on her knees and stuck her hand out and Elea came up slowly and sniffed her hand before giving little nibbles on her hand to play with her. Melissa took a toy and started moving it around the floor and Elea chased it around. You couldn’t tear them apart so you made dinner instead. When dinner was ready, Melissa came in holding Elea in her arms and she was fast asleep.
“Aw. That’s so cute.” You whispered.
Halfway through dinner, Elea woke up and Melissa put her down as she got a burst of energy. You both ended up playing with her for most of the evening, although she seemed to go more towards Melissa.
At nighttime, Melissa carried her up the stairs as she got too scared to do it herself, and Melissa put her on the floor at the top and Elea explored the upstairs while you two got ready for bed. When you were ready, you called Elea but she didn’t come, Melissa called her and this time she came.
“That’s favouritism.” You complained and crossed your arms and Melissa giggled.
“Oh Amore, don’t hate me because she likes me more. You’ll always be my favourite human.” She tells you and you glare at her then get into the bed. Melissa ends up bringing Elea into the bed and you roll your eyes. Honestly you would do the same. Melissa spooned you and she whispered that Elea is cuddled into her back and you let out a little “aw”. She may prefer your wife but she’s too cute to hate.
The next day, Elea jumped in the shower with you two and then immediately jumped out and let out little puppy barks and ran around the bedroom until you got out. When Melissa was cooking breakfast, you filled Elea’s food bowl with some kibble and she inhaled her kibble. When she was done she went over to the dining table where you were eating and she sat down between you two and begged but mostly looked at Melissa. Melissa did end up caving and put a piece aside for her to which she put her bowl when she was finished.
After you decided to go for a walk with Elea. You and Melissa were both teachers but it was the beginning of summer break so you could stay at home and train and bond with Elea. Melissa ended up holding the leash and brought a couple treats to give to Elea and you held on to the poo bags. One Elea peed outside, Melissa pet her and gave her a treat right away. Elea wagged her tail when Melissa was petting her and swatted her little paws around as she hasn’t grown into them yet. She got on her back when her and Melissa were playing and she kept pawing at Melissa and giving her playful puppy nibbles. To which you took a bunch of pictures. You got her less than 24 hours ago and you already have 30 pictures of Elea on your phone, you realised that’s more than you took of Melissa when you were dating her for 4 years. But you shrug it off, I mean it’s probably accurate for all animal owners.
When you got home from the walk, Melissa carried Elea in her arms while she was sleep and went to sit on the couch. You brought Melissa a cup of water to which she thanked you for and drank the whole thing. 20 minutes later, Elea woke up and bounced out of Melissa’s arms and on to the couch. She got down after 2 minutes of trying and ended up slipping off the couch but Melissa congratulated her either way. Elea walked around and decided to drink some water then pulled the majority of toys out of her basket that you put away last night and you groaned.
“Why bother with a toy basket or putting them away.” You complained and Melissa laughed and came up to hug you. Elea saw you two hug and wanted in on it too. Melissa of course complied and went and picked her up, then you three had a little family hug. During the hug Elea licked you both on the face and you both laughed. You both played and ran around with Elea for most of the day. You then fed Elea her dinner kibble while Melissa got dinner ready.
“You fed her so many treats today, I’m surprised she still has room.” You told Melissa and she just shrugs.
“She’s a growing puppy, she needs to eat.” Melissa says and you laugh.
“I love you, you know. Never change.” You tell her and you wrap your arms around her waist.
“I don’t plan too Amore. And I love you too.” She tells you then turns around and gives you a quick kiss on the lips then finishes getting dinner ready.
And just like at breakfast, Elea begs, at Melissa mostly, for some human food, and again, Melissa caves and gives her the piece when finished in her food bowl.
After dinner, you both settle on the couch and Melissa picks Elea up when she whines and you put on a Disney movie. You chose the little mermaid and you kept glancing over at Melissa petting Elea’s head while Elea nuzzles her head in Melissa’s lap and falls asleep. You lean your head on Melissa’s shoulder and she wraps an arm around you. Halfway through the movie, Elea wakes up and starts barking. You pause the movie and get her leash to take her out. You take Elea out as Melissa did it before supper and she does her pees. You bring her back in and she goes right to Melissa to get picked up again, which Melissa does and she goes and falls asleep on her lap with Melissa scratching her head.
The rest of the month goes like this, and you end up bringing her to puppy class and teach her some commands, go to a dog park to introduce her to other dogs and introduce her to some family members that you’ll see multiple times a year.
Melissa and Elea end up spending a lot of time together and while it shouldn’t bother you, it is taking a lot of your Melissa time away. You knew you wouldn’t spend as much time with Melissa when you get a puppy but Elea is demanding ALL of Melissa’s attention and it’s started to make you a little jealous. Like you couldn’t have sex without Elea demanding Melissa’s attention. You’re starting to think that dog just wants Melissa away from you, cause maybe she doesn’t like you.
Like when you’re having sex, at the beginning, when Melissa is kissing your neck, Elea comes over on the bed and starts biting Melissa’s hair and doing her little puppy barks. Melissa eventually gives in and gives her attention to Elea and you end up having to use the vibrator.
It was cute at first but not being able to touch your wife, like sometimes not even a nice long kiss of like 10 seconds. Cause everytime you do, Elea comes over and gets Melissa’s attention. You’ve tried to get Elea to like you more but her and Melissa bonded exceptionally quick and you don’t know why.
Melissa thinks it’s funny when you complain that Elea is getting all her attention, everytime you bring it up.
“I swear it’s like she doesn’t even like me and is just separating us. Like she gets all your attention and I get the scrapes.” You complained one night and she just brought you to lean on her shoulder while Elea laid on her lap. Melissa rubbed your arm while she scratched Elea’s head. She loves her 2 girls, y/n and Elea and she wouldn’t change it a thing.
“Y/n, if you think about it, Elea went through a lot. She ended up at the shelter cause she was found on the street. When she was like 3 weeks old and spent 7 weeks at that shelter. Then she comes home with us and everything is new. She just bonded to one of us and wants comfort to help soothe her.” Melissa explains and you take a deep breath.
“I know, you’re right, it’s just a little annoying right now cause I can barely touch my wife, without little sunshine here interrupting us. And you always give her the attention.” You say and cross your arms. “Like I wanted a puppy too and I barely get time with either of you individually.” You say and before Melissa can say anything, Elea gets up and starts barking and Melissa gets up to take her outside as it’s her turn. You huff as Melissa carries Elea downstairs then outside.
When Melissa gets back, you’re asleep so she just climbs into bed with Elea, puts Elea in front of you, turns off the light and cuddles you. She sees Elea go to nuzzle her head into you and you unconsciously move your arm and she climbs underneath. Melissa smiles then falls asleep.
The next morning you wake up and Elea is underneath your arm and Melissa on your back and for a second you think you’re dreaming. You then fully wake up and realise that it’s real. For one, Elea and Melissa stayed apart and two, Elea is cuddling you instead of Melissa.
“I told you she likes you.” Melissa says quietly and you smile.
And as if knowing you’re awake, Elea wakes up and demands to be taken outside.
“I’ll take this one while you wake up.” Melissa tells you and you nod.
“Thank you.” You tell her and she picks Elea up who wags her little tail.
Another month goes by and it’s more or less the same, Elea cuddles and plays with you sometimes but still is overly bonded to Melissa. It’s starting to really frustrate you and you’ve ended up starting fights with Melissa to which you apologise to her later, and she always forgives you.
Melissa does start to clue in that Elea is taking a lot of her attention away from her wife but can never say no to those sad little puppy eyes.
When school starts back up, Melissa spends 10 minutes saying goodbye to Elea while you wait in the car on your phone. She finally leaves when you threaten to drive there without her, even though she knows you won’t. Due to barely being able to be physical with your wife or any physical touch, any kisses at school dropped drama from last year and even the Abbott crew notices and questions you about it at the end of the week.
“Melissa has a new wife now.” You grumble out and they all look at you confused.
“She’s talking about the puppy and she’s gotten a little jealous that Elea prefers spending time with me.” Melissa explains and they all have their mouths shaped in an ‘O’ form.
“That’s not what I’m angry about and you know it. I’m angry because she takes away all your time, I can barely kiss or hug you.” You grit at her and then you get up and walk out of the break room. You hide away in your classroom the rest of the day, you didn’t even let Melissa in when she came to check on you a few times.
Melissa was starting to get worried about you but doesn’t know what to do. So she went to Barb.
“I mean I don’t know what I should do, I mean we can’t give Elea back to the shelter because she’s our dog now and I know that no matter how angry y/n is, she’ll never agree to give her back anyway.” Melissa complains and slumps back to the wall.
“Melissa, you’re missing the point. Y/n isn’t angry she’s upset cause she feels she doesn’t have a wife anymore.” Barb states. “I’ve noticed how detached you both are from each other since you got the puppy. And I know that puppies require a lot of attention and time, y/n knows that too. But maybe you spend a little too much time on Elea.” Barb states. “Like Elea is like a child right. And sometimes you just have to let children do things themselves.” Barb explains and Melissa sighs.
“I know, I guess I got too wrapped up with Elea.” Melissa says.
“I know and I know y/n knows too. If she didn’t then she would be a lot more angry right now.” Barb says and Melissa chuckles.
Melissa plans to take you out on a date tomorrow to spend time with you but you immediately decline and Melissa frowns.
“Wouldn’t you rather go with Elea instead of me?” You tell her.
“No, I’d rather go with my wife.” She tells you and you scoff.
“Like I said, wouldn’t you rather go with Elea.” You repeat and before she can say anything else, Elea comes running in and barks to go out. “Oh look, your wife is calling you.” You tell her and go upstairs.
When Melissa returns she sits on the couch and thinks about how to change things. She gets an idea and goes upstairs to where you’re on the bed, on your phone pouting. She brings Elea up with her and she sits on the bed and puts Elea on your lap.
You refuse at first and then Elea whines for your attention and you start petting her a bit but then she nuzzles into you and she falls asleep.
“Look y/n, I’m sorry that I put all my attention on her. I didn’t notice and I was so excited about this puppy and that she bonded to me more. I guess I didn’t kinda forget about my wife. I mean we did basically only accomplish sex completely probably 4 times this summer.” She says and you glare at her.
“It was never just the sex, I mean ya it’s part of it but I would like my wife back.” You tell her and cross your arms. “You’re gonna have to start giving less attention to Elea or I might leave.” You tell her and she looks at you.
“Isn’t that a little dramatic?” She says. You whip your head at her and glare. You then pick Elea up and place her in Melissa’s lap then you walk out.
You end up sleeping in the guest bedroom the entire weekend, to Mel’s very reluctant begging. She even tried sneaking in during the night but you caught her and was sent back to the main bed. She then realised that nighttime is pretty much the only physical contact you two still have, cuddling at night, and you're asleep for most of it.
So she decides to make some changes. She starts putting a fluffy blanket down at the foot of the bed and Elea starts sleeping on that, while you two cuddle. She got anti anxiety beds for Elea and you two are able to have sex and cuddle on the couch. She goes on walks everyday with Elea and you, and insists you hold the leash while she has an arm around your waist. If you two are kissing and Elea barks to get Melissa’s, you at first pulled away, thinking Melissa will give her the attention but Melissa’s starts pulling you back and ignoring Elea for a bit until giving her attention.
Little by little you start to get your wife back and Elea’s overly attached bond with Melissa starts turning into a normal bond and Elea even starts bonding with you now.
By end of September, Melissa has you back in her arms, where you should be and a cute puppy with a normal relationship bond with both of you. She fully admits she went a little puppy crazy and forgot about the other important person in her life. But now she’s back to holding you in one arm while Elea is snuggling on both of you.

Read an Excerpt from "Between Two Moons" by Aisha Abdel Gawad
Bay Ridge was about to fast for a whole month of fifteen-hour days. We would be one dry mouth, one rumbling belly, one pounding head. Mothers would wake at least an hour before dawn to make the suhoor meal, to scramble eggs and basturma in skillets. And when the children and the husbands finally woke up, usually with only a few minutes to spare, the mothers would stuff the mixture into pita halves so their families could eat more quickly, in time to perform wudu and pray with the sun. It was your last chance to eat and drink and smoke and fuck and curse and gossip and think unkind thoughts until the sun set again in the evening.
Baba shuffled after Mama like a bad dog. Lina stood up and yawned, letting out a long moan. Mama made us a breakfast of hard-boiled eggs, mashed fava beans, and sliced tomatoes. We sat around the kitchen table, shoveling food sleepily into our mouths, letting bits of egg dribble down our chins. After we’d eaten, Mama stood sentry over us and watched as we each downed three full glasses of water.
“I’m going back to bed,” Lina said after she’d finished.
“Haram, ya binti,” Mama said and grabbed the collar of her Wu-Tang T-shirt.
The sun was creeping up the horizon and we still needed to pray Fajr. Mama dragged the coffee table to the corner of the living room to clear space for the four of us to pray all lined up. Then she brought us a basket of delicate white prayer scarves with edges like doilies. Lina and I each slipped one on, and then Mama pointed to the bathroom. We zombie-shuffled over to it, purposefully knocking into each other as we went.
Lina and I stood side by side in front of the bathroom sink. Silently, we washed ourselves with cold New York City tap water. We were efficient and thorough. In the name of God, state your intent to perform wudu. Wash both hands up to the wrists. Rinse your mouth three times. Clean your nostrils, breathing in water and blowing it out three times. Rinse your face three times. Wash your arms up to the elbows three times. Slick your hair back like an Italian mobster, once. Wash your ears. Wash your feet. Do you feel cleansed? Are you ready?
After we had performed wudu, Mama wanted Baba, our patriarch, to stand in front and lead us in prayers, but he was annoyed about being late to the shop. Baba didn’t like to pray—sometimes, when he was feeling nostalgic about the old days in the old country, he would tell me about the time he was eighteen and he stormed out of his village masjid back in Egypt.
“That stupid imam, he tell me man come from ball of clay and clot of blood, and I tell him, What, are you stupid? Man, he come from monkey, not clay! So I leave and I go home and I tell my mama, Mama, I’m not praying anymore. And ever since that day, I never pray again.”
Except, of course, he did pray again. Countless times. But I think I know what he meant. He meant that he never really felt it again, never again believed that it would help him ace a test or publish the poems he wrote in the margins of his school notebooks. He prayed now like a man following orders, like a man too tired to put up a fight.
The clock on the mantel chimed. It was like a cuckoo clock, except instead of birds it opened to reveal a tiny golden Ka’ba that spun and played a recording of a famous muezzin from Egypt reciting the call to prayer. A robotic voice told us that prayer is better than sleep. There are no minarets in Brooklyn. God’s name does not echo across the buildings. There is nothing but a clock on the wall.
Baba was persuaded to stand in front of us, his womenfolk, and lead prayers. But he rushed through all his rakat, touching his forehead to the carpet for only a moment before standing up again. The rest of us were only halfway through when we heard the door close behind him.
When we had finished, Lina and I squeezed together in her bed. I tried to close my eyes and determine whether I felt any different on the first day of the holy month. The month when, a zillion years ago, the Prophet Muhammad received his first revelations up on that mountaintop. He thought he was just a poor illiterate orphan escaping to the mountain to rest his mind. But then the Angel Jibrail came down, and—bam—all of a sudden he was a prophet, the prophet.
For some that summer, the next thirty days would be filled with prayers and reflections and recitations. Bodies and minds would be purified. But for the rest of us, it would be thirty days of waiting for the sun to set so we could eat and drink without incurring the judgment of all the collective mothers and grandmothers and aunties of Bay Ridge, who with one wagging finger and one cluck of the tongue could banish us into a prison of guilt.
The waiting. Every Ramadan, people waited for Lina to change. To be struck with the spirit of Islam, to ditch her cutoffs and halter tops for a nice, modest abaya. To hang out after prayers with the good Muslim girls at the Starbucks on 3rd instead of drinking with the Mexicans in Sunset Park. And every Ramadan, Lina waited for people to go ahead and give up on her.
Baba waited for Mama to mellow, to hang up her abayas, put down her Qur’an, and become once again the quietly irreverent girl he had married.
Mama waited for us, her husband and daughters, to believe as we ought to.
They both waited for Sami, their boy, their firstborn, to come back to them.
I waited for something without a name. A jolt, a tingling, a filling up.
Ordinarily, I didn’t care much about Ramadan. But that summer, with our high-school graduation only days away, it felt momentous. Suddenly the things around me—tables, books, clouds—were imbued with meaning that I was supposed to be able to decipher but couldn’t. In September, I would go to college, and I was sure that by then I would be different. I would push and the world would stumble in response.
Lying next to Lina that first morning, I closed my eyes and tried to imagine the woman I was destined to become. I saw a glimmer of my own future arm, thinner, with a figure-eight tattoo curling around my wrist. I smiled to myself, but then I realized that I had stolen this wrist off the girl who served us pizza yesterday after school. It was her tattoo, her skin, her body. I had plagiarized my own imaginings of myself. So, eyes closed, I kept waiting for knowledge to strike me like an arrow in the heart.
These are the normal kinds of waiting that fill the long, dry-mouthed days of Ramadan. But this Ramadan, this particularly long and hot Ramadan, there was another kind of waiting that we all shared. It kept everyone in Bay Ridge strung together on a long, tenuous thread, knocking into one another like prayer beads.

Oh, I really like that idea. The family fluff and them treating y/n like a pup. I have so many questions my dear.
What I've been thinking is would y/n be built different? Living in water most of the time since being a child would affect their anatomy I imagine. Things like having wider, more developed shoulders, thighs or upper body (what you can often see on professional swimmers) would come as natural i assume also the trained ability to hold breath for longer periods of time and being able to use mer language.
But I wonder if their body would also adapt to environment in some different ways, would they develop abilities and anatomy not quite natural for humans? Like better eyesight under the water, possibility to digest raw food without getting sick due to this kind of diet they practiced their whole life or natural intuition regarding animals, their intentions and moods.
Would they have contact with other mermaids? Something like Spider from avatar the way of water like being a weird monkey friend among a group of mers.
How would they learn about human culture? the human language?
As a bilingual person I sometimes struggle with proverbs or slang, because you can't translate them word to word, they won't make any sense that way, I like to think y/n would have the same problem haha. Like imagine them saying ,, Nah there is no way they ripped their gills as a pup in this" which would translate to having something as a hobby you spent lots of time and work on.
Also would they struggle with human speech as an adult? Like despite the education would they struggle with some words or didn't knew the meaning?
After growing up would they live on the shore? Boat? Or in the village near the water?
You wrote about them being totally oblivious to human dating strategies and I'm in love with it. Love me some oblivious y/n's. But also let's reverse that y/n have a human friend that found something cool like a pretty rock or a seashell and knowing y/n is someone who loves sea and has surprisingly big collection of rare shells, rocks etc they showed it to them like:
Friend: Look what I found while diving last week! * shows the pretty pearl/shell/rock/some anemone*
Y/n : Oh! It rare, must be brought from away, not appear here. *after inspecting tries to give it back*
Friend: No No! Keep it it's for you, it reminded me of you when I saw it so I took it. It's not as gorgeous as the rest of your collection but I hope you will accept it!
Y/n being convinced they are trying to court them now : :O *Runs to Sun and Moon* Dads/Guys holy fuck
And like they start this chain of present giving where
Y/n : omg courting omg what I do? They are good providers, good eyes, strong. I must show the same! I will think about it but I will show I'm interested, considering the proposition *Gives sea glass*
Friend: Hahaha exchanging not really meaningful gifts and eating lunch with my bff. Oh! A sea glass! I must repay for a gift with another! So fun!
Or the other scenario where there is a mer that doesn't know y/n have been raised by mers and knows a lot about human culture for some reason and tries to court them that way and they are both so confused.
Also I think it would be funny if y/n had a sea slugs obsession, like they are their favourite animal, they are like sea puppies for them. And they feel personally attacked when someone doesn't know about them.
Ohhh I'm sorry about rambling but I'm in awe of this au I would love to hear more about it! The relationships dynamics! Characters! Everything! Everyday you surprise with your creativity more and more!
I'm gonna say "PROBABLY" to all of the anatomy stuff because I was not even aware of that being a thing for professional swimmers
Yeah, they'd be able to hold their breath for awhile! Not an abnormal amount of time though, however you'd define that (one of my friends can hold its breath for 2 whole minutes). I would like to also imagine that there is a way for Y/N to breathe underwater for a period of time with Sun and Moon's help. Like how in some romantic AUs, it's done through a kiss, but kisses themselves aren't inherently romantic in nature, are they? So the very cute image I'm getting here is Sun telling Y/N to hold their breath, pulling them under the water, then pressing his mouth to the top of their hair to do a very exaggerated "mmmmm...wah!!" like parrot owners do with their parrots. There's a few little sparkles around the top of their head, then Y/N is freely giggling under the water. Sun swims around them in circles like "swim with me! Swim with me! Like this!"
They can also use mer language. It would perhaps sound a little bit like there's a speech impediment to a mer. Still understandable though, so *Sun voice* 👏👏 good job, good job!! :D
Yeah, they can digest raw food better than the average human can!
I'd like to imagine Y/N meets other mers too, yeah. Maybe even gets to play with some other child mers, and Moon has to warn them that his kid is more delicate so they have to be careful. Y/N might feel a little left out though, so Sun and Moon still take them back to the human island from time to time where there are human children who won't leave them behind for being too slow. Even if Y/N is seen as a little weird, but oh well. A lot of kids are weird
Aaand that also goes into human culture and language. Again, Sun and Moon take Y/N to the small human island from time to time. Perhaps they have a deal with one of the humans to babysit essentially. Keep watch for them and keep Y/N taken care of. Hey, maybe it's Vanessa! Jdkghd yeah I like the proverbs struggle
I imagine they're pretty good with the island's human language. They had a small vocabulary with it already before meeting Sun and Moon, then they learned some from Vanessa, plus the other kids. Buuut they're not perfect with it, even in adulthood. They still have struggles, and maybe even don't know how to form certain sounds all too well. They sound like they have an accent, and don't know what to say when people ask what it is
I feel like boats would make Y/N feel a bit weird. Sun and Moon would always grab onto Y/N and flee whenever they saw one, maybe there had been a bad instance with someone in a boat hurting Sun or Moon at some point, and Y/N knows Sun and Moon take down large boats from time to time. So boats, especially large ones, might somewhat be associated with danger and the ability to be torn straight through. Perhaps they moved into a house by the shore and occasionally go out on a very small boat, since small boats had always seemed to be less of a source of fear and more so just caution
AWWWW THE THOUGHT OF Y/N TRYING TO COURT SOMEONE LIKE A MER WOULD IS ACTUALLY SOSO CUTE. I don't even know who this friend IS, and I'm obsessed
Oh sea slugs... you have got me there

Also, bc of my amazing luck, I literally got sick, like, today. Sooo, have my fever-induced Farah rambles đŸ˜» Brought to you by. Idk probably the flu or something đŸ’Ș
Note: the fact i managed to dump this all out in one session before napping is a lil funny ngl 😇
Double note: I acc had a different plan for this, but the sickness has unfortunately taken me, and I’m just going with the flow atp 😇 prepare for more of my Farah braindumps after i’m mildly more alive 😚
-
Farah & Sick!reader drabble 😚
(Tws: vague sickness, fever 👍)
Lets start this off with the simple fact that- she’s the queen of home remedies. You could pick up some degenerative alien disease from a far off solar system, and she probably has something for it. Mot to mention that she’s pretty good at making said remedies notably more appealing, which definitely doesn’t hurt. Sure, she won’t shy away from medicating you, more than prepared to deal with your slightly high shenanigans, but it’s definitely nice to not be drugged up instantly.
She’s also absolutely attached to you at the hip. It’s like she’s given herself the job of your personal nurse, or something. Of course, she’s doing what’s best for you, but she folds just a little at the sight of your soft, weepy eyes.
Admittedly, she’s not the best cook on the planet. She has more important responsibilities than learning to cook. However, for you? She digs up every family recipe she could find, probably digging up an old scrapbook or two of her grandparent’s meanwhile. She’s determined to shower you in gourmet-level food as much as humanly possible, even if that means constantly ducking out of the kitchen to check on you, cuddled up on the couch.
Speaking of cuddles, she’s an absolute cuddle monster. The second you’ll let her, she’s buried alongside you, her gentle warmth dissolving into tour achy muscles, your pounding head showered in soft little kisses - even a couple on the lips, if she can sneak them, because, no, love, she doesn’t care about getting sick, she’ll live.
And, of course, she’ll insist on a nice bath with you, seeing as she just wants to see you better, sweetheart. Her getting to snuggle up with you in the tub is definitely just a happy coincidence.
Bathing with Farah is absolutely heavenly. She fills up the tub herself, happily murmuring pleasant little anecdotes and warm comforts into your ears as lukewarm water splashes around behind you. Gently helping you out of your pyjamas (well, her pyjamas, that were practically yours at this point), she dips her foot into the water, feeling the coolish liquid cover her feet. She slowly eases you in, a slight guilt pooling in her heart as you whine about just how cold the water felt. She keeps you buried in her arms throughout, kissing your cheeks and praising you sweetly, even letting you tuck your face against her shoulder.
Once you’re actually in, the bath is a near-perfect affair. Farah keeps you against her chest the entire time, happily kneading at your pained muscles, letting the water wash away the sweat staining your skin. She guides you down softly, supporting your neck with a gentle, rough hand as she dips your hair into the water, letting it wash away the tightness behind your eyes as best it could, easily tasking herself with washing your hair. It’s like she turns into your personal masseuse, looping a leg around your hips to keep you safely tucked against her, stroking delicately through the soft strands of your hair, loving hands brushing against their perfect spot on your scalp, leaving your muscles at a similar consistency to the water you were surrounded by.
She takes to washing your hair easily, lathering each product in her hands and warmly rubbing them in, pressing kisses to your cheeks and forehead between each one (her face occasionally scrunches as the misplaced product stains her mouth, but it’s worth it to see the little contented smile against your lips).
Thankfully, she doesn’t shy away from care elsewhere, either. She easily lathers each skincare product against your prone form, adjusting you gently against her arms to completely cover every inch of your sweet, delicate skin. Of course, each touch is punctuated with a little massage, hoping to soothe each and every inch of your sickly form, along with her fair share of kisses.
Unsurprisingly, getting out of the tub felt like hell. Sure, the water was mildly cold, but you’d adjusted to it, at this point, lazing easily against Farah’s warmth like a cat in the sun. You definitely felt like a wet cat as she eased you up, shivers immediately picking up the second your skin was exposed to the icy-seeming air. A snug, fluffy towel was wrapped around you almost immediately, with Farah swiftly reaching out to crank the heating up - just enough to keep the temperature difference from making your sickness worse.
Farah was quick to herd you into the bedroom, sitting you down on the bed and exchanging the, now damp, towel for a cosy robe she’d bought a while ago, surprisingly still unused.
And, before you could even consider protesting, she was crouched between your legs, gently towelling down the damp skin. She slowly made her way up, from your feet all the way up to your hair, occasionally popping to and from the bathroom, finishing off your skin and hair care.
By the time she’d finished, you were cuddled up in another - notably lighter - pair of her pyjamas, buried safely on her side of the bed, her honeyed scent filling your senses. Your head was pillowed against her chest, eyes trained vaguely before you as she flicked through her movie catalogue, looking for something peaceful yet entertaining.
Eventually, after her careful deliberation, she decides on some lighthearted romcom. It doesn’t particularly matter at this point, though, seeing as you’d conked out before the opening credits had even begun, your soft, purring snores filling the room and bringing a loving smile to her face. Looking after you so delicately had been amazing, but she was absolutely relieved you were finally getting the sleep your body so desperately needed.
Sighing happily, she lays the two of you down, snuggling beneath the covers and kissing you goodnight, easily falling into slumber in her favourite place - cuddled up beside you.

Silver’s eyes fluttered open against the faint firelight of a campfire.
“Ah, you’re awake.” Silver turned his head to look into bright ruby eyes. The bat fae was minding the fire while sorting through a pile of herbs at his feet while Silver’s head rested on his lap. Silver shyly pulled away as the other continued to speak. “The others went to grab firewood and water.” Silver nodded to show he heard as he tried to get his mind focused.
“Hm. Why are we...ah.” He remembered now.
The secret stairway, the underground lad filled with blood and black, the corpses of people all stitched together to look like him and--
Silver’s skin turned gray at the horrifying images that appeared in his mind, shivering as a sharp chill filled him.
“Silver? Are you alright?” Lilia cupped Silver’s face and turned the other to look at him as if the action were natural. To his own surprise, Silver didn’t flinch away from the touch. As strange as it was, it was also...
“Hmm
you’re a bit green,” Lilia muttered, namely to himself. “But that’s to be expected after that horror show. Do you need to throw up?” Silver shook his head as he tried very hard not to remember that “horror show.”
“I’m fine. It’s just... I can’t believe that my father...” No. No, that man wasn’t his father.
Silver didn’t have a father.
Silver didn’t have anything. He didn’t have a home or a family—all he had were lies.
Everything Silver knew was a lie.
His father wasn’t his father, but a kidnapper who stole him while he was on a school trip. The villain then brainwashed the teen into believing he was the man’s son.
Silver lived unaware of this for a while, until one day Lilia and a few others appeared. The first meeting had been baffling, as Silver had no idea who they were—and still didn’t, to be honest.
He thought that they had mistaken him for someone else and was correcting them when his—when the man he thought was his father arrived. The two cleared up the misunderstanding and went home.
However, the strangers hung around and began approaching him more and more, until one day Silver invited them to his home.
It was then that Silver learned the truth.
The group found a staircase, and at the insistence of the curious Ortho, the group investigated and discovered his father’s mysterious lab.
In it were angry ghosts, trapped by his father, strange monsters—that Idia called Phantoms—and, worst of all, reanimated corpses that looked like Silver.
From then on, the mystery was unveiled, and everything Silver thought he knew was shattered, leaving him with nothing.
Silver noticed Lilia go stiff when he mentioned fa—that man.
“...Yes, it’s quite a shock, I’m sure.” The fae’s smile was tight and quivered as it hid a clenched jaw. The memory of the madman brought a dangerous gleam to the man’s otherwise kind eyes. He closed them as he stood, turning away to dust himself off.
“Well! Some food should help settle you,” he said, his tone a bit too bright. “Luckily, there are plenty of herbs and stuff, so I should be able to whip up something.” A primal fear rose inside Silver.
“Ah! No! That’s okay! I can do it! Please let me do it--” Lilia laughed as Silver jumped to his feet like a scared rabbit.
“It’s fine; I don’t mind at all!” He “assured” the other.
“But—”
“It’s okay! I enjoy cooking. Besides, there’s no need to push yourself. You went through a lot today.” Unable to convince the other, Silver slumped in defeat.
It wasn’t like Lilia was wrong; he felt sick from all he saw—the vile smell of corpses still in his senses—and his body was more exhausted than ever from running.
Lilia fussed over him a bit more before going to start cooking. Silver watched him closely as he did so.
‘He’s always taking care of me.’ Lilia was always the first to inquire about his condition, to protect him when the need arose, and he was the one to ground Silver whenever the boy lost his footing. Silver owed him a lot.
‘But why? Why is he so concerned for me?’ His brow furrowed in thought. Silver knew he felt some sort of connection to the other, but it was hard to understand exactly what that was.
Wanting to figure it out, he had asked Ace, but...
“Ah, well, I’m not sure, but—I think you two were dating or something.” After hearing this, Silver felt like a boulder was dropped on him, and his brain stopped working for quite a while.
The teen hid his face between his knees.
‘Dating
?’ Silver’s body turned hot pink as his body heated up with embarrassment.
The idea
 it felt so wrong.
He had no idea why. Lilia—as he frequently bragged—was adorable as sin. On top of that, he was strong, skilled, talented, and more. Anyone—especially someone like Silver, who was dull and not very interesting—would be lucky to date him.
‘Even so...’ His face and neck felt hot. The very idea felt wrong somehow. But why?
If he thought logically, it lined up with everything. Why else would Lilia go through everything he did—even risking his life—to help Silver if there wasn’t a personal connection? Not to mention all the soft touches, the brushing of his hair, and the way Silver always felt safe and light in the other’s presence...
“Your skin is changing color,” Lilia noted, pulling Silver from his thoughts. The other was beaming at him, but Silver could see that he was trying to veil his worry. “Are you catching a fever?” The fae made to touch him again but stopped himself as Silver—who was shy from his thoughts—flinched away. Silver regretted it, though, as he saw the hurt that flashed across the bat’s face. One Silver realized he had caused quite often as of late.
He made to apologize, but Lilia forced a smile before he could, pulling his hand to his side, where it curled into a fist.
“Don’t force yourself to stay quiet if you’re ill,” he continued. “That’ll cause more trouble in the long run.” Silver’s gut sank.
“Sorry...” he mumbled.
“It’s okay. I understand that things must be overwhelming right now,” Lilia sympathized. “But I’m here if you need to talk...and so are the others.” He added it as an afterthought. Warmth filled Silver’s chest, and it gave him the courage to voice his queries.
“Actually, there’s something I would like to talk to you about,” he said, deciding that getting straight to the point would be best.
“Oh?” Lilia watched him curiously, folding his arms as he gave the boy his full attention.
“Hm. I spoke to Ace about our relationship...before my memories were lost—no, altered, right?” He watched Lilia fight to keep his expression blank, but even then, his grip tightened on his folded arms. Silver took a deep breath before continuing. “He said that we were dating before my memory loss
” Silver trailed off, unsure of how to continue, as Lilia reacted to his words.
The fae’s skin paled to pure white marble just as he tipped to the side, falling.
“Ah!” Silver reached out, but the other regained himself before hitting the ground but began to sputter like an engine as he choked on the tongue he just swallowed. Finally, he managed to speak clearly.
“NO!!” he exclaimed, his voice nearly a screech that made Silver flinch back. He tried to hide it, but his face was frantic, and his eyes were wild as he hid it behind a smile.
“No! That’s! That’s NOT our relationship at all, I assure you!” He said with a look that was absolutely not promising a swift death to Ace later.
Silver was taken aback by how quickly and loudly the other person was denying the information. He frowned a bit, pouting.
‘He doesn’t have to take the idea so hard...’ Even so, Silver felt a bit relieved by the news as well.
And yet

He ducked his chin low, gnawing at his lip before speaking again.
“Then... what is our relationship?” The question seemed to stun Lilia, but Silver pressed onward.
“You went through so much to find me and reveal the truth,” he continued. “And in the lab, you went above and beyond to protect me, even placing yourself in harm's way to do so.” A hand tightened over his chest as Silver recalled the memory of Lilia jumping to defend him from an attack.
“You went through all that and more for me. Why?” He lifted his head and stared pleadingly at Lilia with eyes that shone, begging the other to fill the empty gaps in his mind. “What am I to you?”
Lilia stood frozen, the words hanging between them. The other’s eyes were wide as he stared down at Silver, who was still kneeling before him. Then, after a beat, his gaze became distant and wistful, his expression soft, and yet...
Lilia reached a hand out, his fingers lightly dancing across the teen’s cheek. One of many familiar touches from a time lost.
“You’re my
”
“Oiii! We’re back!”
The two turned to greet the teens, who were carrying a large stack of wood.
“Silver! Come help us!” Sebek barked. Silver pushed down the disappointment that rose inside him as he scrambled to his feet.
“Coming!” he called back with a sigh.
Lilia watched as Silver ran to help the other two, his gaze somber. He then closed his eyes and lifted a palm to his aching heart. In his mind was a memory of a sweet little boy with an acorn bracelet and a bright smile.
“Daddy! Daddy!”
Fighting the urge to cry, Lilia opened his eyes and whispered:
“You’re my...”
--
I'm just going to write a quick angst, I told myself. Then I wrote over 1500, lol. Basically, Silver got kidnapped by the title character of Mad Father and got his memories altered to forget his past. Lilia and the others saved him, but the lad still has no memories of the past. Still, that's not going to stop Lilia from looking after his baby.

heyyy, when you get the time, could you write that Mingyu fic we were talking about? I’m thinking Mingyu starts off athletic as he is, but maybe due to an injury he takes times off and then starts gaining weight. DK first starts off just by comforting him and cooking for Mingyu which leads to his gain.
would love if you could make him as large/fat as you’re comfortable with, and show how he then struggled with choreo/fitting into his outfits. The members have to adapt their choreo for him, DK also starts to gain weight đŸ„°
hehe i'm on a mingyu high atm so let's go back to my namesake for some gluttony from my favourite gyu... i'm going to change up some stuff for this to keep it fresh as well but i hope you enjoy it!
Bulk Clause
This is a feederism fic and features weight gain and unintentional weight gain. Don't like, don't read.
Getting the ink dry on the contracts took such a burden off the chests of just about everyone within their team that it was worth celebrating. Not many people would have expected a group as large as thirteen members to renew their contract, but as it turned out, not every group had a Mingyu who fought tooth and nail to make sure that it turned out okay and that the family that they made was not going to be torn about by different reasons.
These terms that would have stumped even more established groups for temptation reasons were nothing at the willpower of a man who made sure they stood resolute and as a single team, fighting for clauses that benefitted them as a collective as opposed to swaying them in separate directions.
The glasses of beer clunk together as they cheered, Mingyu feeling some rough pats on his back as he giggled from the feeling. It stung a little bit because all the guys tended to be rough knowing he was more than capable of taking a hit or two but following the hectic nature of the renewing of a contract, he welcomed something to bring him back to this reality that they lived in.
"Oi, Mingyu." He turned his head to Seungcheol as he smiled, "Good thing we fought for that clause about our workouts, right?" The smile only grew wider as the plates full of food were delivered without a second thought, filling the table with delicious foods that were unthinkable before. From that small little green room where they had to sneak bites, they were no longer restrained to just about everything that they ate and Mingyu's eyes sparkled while his mouth watered, not even sure what to take first.
Jeonghan leaned his head on Mingyu's shoulder as he patted his arm, "Since we can actually eat now, you can probably bulk better. I know that some other idols have been doing that lately. And you already like working out."
He squeezed the bicep curiously, smiling when Mingyu shied away, "Ah, hyung..." The whine slipped out of him as Jeonghan laughed before pushing a plate to him, "I'm not used to seeing this much in front of me. I remember sneaking bites of food that Seungkwan brought for everyone after his schedules."
Seungkwan was chewing some of the chicken that they got while nodding at Mingyu's comment, "That's in the past now. We got through it so now, we can do what we want." Mingyu began to eat rather quickly, almost like he was scared it was some sort of joke.
Chan leaned on the table, smiling playfully, "Make sure you get your fill before Mingyu and Wonwoo hyung take everything back to their place." Mingyu shot him a look before he was placated by Chan passing over a plate of food that he was eyeing anyways before digging in.
"Even if we take everything back, I'm sure Mingyu will meal prep it into something else anyways." By the sound of Wonwoo's tone, he basically expected it so Mingyu was already making a mental note to make something that they'd both like out of what they brought back.
One of the clauses on their new contract was that members have full discretion of their diets. This was something that they had to fight rather hard on but it was worth the battle. A lot of the members struggled with their own body image following the strict rules with eating that were imposed on them while they were growing and with this clause, it gave them free reign to heal from what they came from.
Some of the members that came to mind were the ones who had already taken steps to better their relationship with food and everything in that avenue, but it also benefitted the ones who frequented the gym. Without any restrictions on their diet, it was possible to properly bulk and cut so they could get a more muscular frame. It wasn't something that was common in the industry in favour of a leaner build but it was gaining a lot of popularity.
Today was, of course, a cheat day. This was made clear before Mingyu and Seungcheol began to stuff their faces with whatever was in reach. It continued throughout the night, celebrating, feasting, cheering and reminiscing on old times. Mingyu had to tune in and out, discretely rubbing his bloated abs underneath his shirt. They had all eaten their fill but Mingyu and Seungcheol probably had eaten a fair share of everything on the table.
The problem with diets though when dealing with muscle gain was that starting the cut was always difficult. So many different things were delayed for the sake of a cheat day and Mingyu lost track of how many times Seungcheol suggested to get a meal together. Most of the time, it ended with them too full to even properly work out, promising that they'd go the next day. It was just hard to say no when the food was good and their workout days lined up anyways.
At the very least, it was good to know that the eating and not restricting his habits was working out. His arms looked rather beefy and were bigger than ever before. Flexing these days was something of a lethal weapon when he was wearing short sleeves, their fans immediately noticing how his arms were.
They also noticed some other changes. More talks on social media that he was coming for Seungcheol's position for the best ass in the group. Some of the shots they got of them rehearsing surprised Mingyu, moving his hands to his ass and feeling the way fat started to yield to his touch, a lot more than before. But, he wasn't sure what to think when his belly was trending on other apps for when he raised his shirt in choreo.
Sure, it was starting to push down on the waistband, but he was bloated that day. Eating most of the snack table clear wasn't for the faint of heart. But, it was enough to let him know that his new habits of counting everything as a cheat meal was a consequence so he planned to dial it back. Lifting his weights in the gym with Seokmin was nice, an unexpected company to help him during upper body workout days.
He was trying to lift a weight that was heavier than usual and Seokmin lingered behind him, feeling the body heat of the other on his back while cheering, "C'mon, Mingyu! I can do this in my sleep! What's taking you so long!" He huffed in annoyance as he started to raise the heavy dumbbells, "You're not doing many sets, c'mon! Just a little more."
He reached the height of his rep and was going to hold for a moment before, he felt hands on his sides, the budding love handles being squeezed, "Oh, maybe this is what's making it harder for you to get everything up. You're getting soft, Mingyu~" It was said in a mocking tone but the more fatal miscalculation was scaring Mingyu to the point where he dropped the weight, landing on his toe as he yelped in pain.
They usually had their back and forths but it was sad to see Seokmin pacing around the waiting room, blaming himself for the injury. "It's fine, Seokmin. I should have held a better grip on the weights anyways!" He smiled nicely, coaxing out a small bit of the other man's sunshine smile which got him to loosen up.
He helped him get to the bed, arm slung around his shoulder before the doctor explained that Mingyu was going to be fine, just needed a cast for a little while to make sure everything healed correctly. Mingyu, after knowing the other man for as long as he did, could feel the concern dripping from his eyes. He rolled his eyes, "It's fine, Seokmin... I'm used to doing most of this stuff anyways."
The surprise was prevalent on his face when it was held by cheeks that were softer than he remembered as he poked one to confirm his suspicions. His face seemed to be a little softer than usual. It'd be a little hard to start a diet with minimal motion lest he injure himself and need more recovery time. They had a comeback planned so the less chance of hurting himself the better.
So, he innocently accepted Seokmin's offer to help him out. Wonwoo was quick to accommodate his roommate but if he left the cooking up to him, it was going to be ramen until he was recovered and he'd probably need to make it anyways some nights that Wonwoo would be gaming for a while.
He knew that Seokmin was working on his cooking but the last thing that he expected was how good for each and every bite, not leaving until he cleaned the plate. Even Wonwoo had been managing these meals well, eating just as much as Mingyu before calling it quits to get back to his game and music producing. Although, the portions were getting slightly bigger with each passing day as Mingyu and Wonwoo ate whatever Seokmin provided, whose skills improved with all the positive words from the ones he was cooking for.
At first, Mingyu was only aware of smaller things... and it couldn't really concern him. The way that couch groaned when Wonwoo parked on it, his heavyset frame making chairs creak as he looked rather alarmed as it happened. How he balanced a bowl on his belly to make sure it was easy to reach while gaming or how his phone scrolling seemed to have a shlef that was soft enough for someone to lie on. And he did one time following Seokmin's meal, too lethargic to make it to his bed, falling asleep on the couch with his fattened hyung. It was hard to notice how he was stuffed with so much food he could barely breathe when Wonwoo's tummy was plump and soft even with him eating the same amount. Probably some of the best sleep he's had in a while.
He even noticed the belly pooching on the apron that Seokmin wore, tying it underneath the gut so that it almost showed off a little more pronounced. Those thighs that filled nearly every pair of pants to near bursting was starting to truly strain the seams and after a couple of teasing slaps, he could confirm that he felt a lot bigger than he used to. Perhaps all that sampling was catching up to him.
But, Mingyu didn't realize how he was the biggest in a way that wasn't just referring to his height. No longer could his stomach be called abs with how much his gut led the way with every step. His new unconscious habit of scratching his gut underneath his hirt or rubbing it following one of Seokmin's dinners.
What really brought it home was when he worked out. The compression shirt could barely squeeze over his plump chest and Wonwoo certainly was enjoying the scenario. Almost like a puppy trying to get out of a box but with a lot more jiggling involved as the trackpants he wore to the gym were no longer functional, losing the battle against Mingyu's fatter ass.
He only realized that he had properly put on weight was when Soonyoung grabbed his gut in the practice mirror, adorned in a black tank top that continually rode up every time Mingyu so much as moved. He shook the fat and Mingyu whined, "Ah, hyung, stop!" He caught the way his fat body completely shielded him as he felt a shiver down his spine.
A comment followed as Soonyoung rolled his eyes, "Mingyu, even if I stop jiggling it, it won't stop. You've gotten big." Being called big isn't something foreign... but in this context, he couldn't help but huff, face a little warm. Soonyoung moved into a hug, arms squishing his plump body, "You're nice to hug... but no one really has a belly as big as yours so syncing is a little hard right now."
It seems everyone was enjoying the eating whatever they wanted clause but Mingyu's hand rubbed his belly curiously, biting his lip when he shakes it curiously. He was the biggest in the room, but everyone had put on their own weight. Mingyu couldn't help the way that he felt his gut fall out of his shirt and jiggled with the movements of the choreo or the way that he felt out of breath with one of the beginning combos.
This was probably the opposite of what was expected of him and he couldn't deny the excitement. Seokmin had stayed surprisingly silent the matter, lifting his shirt up and shocking Mingyu with the size of a gut that stood out, always remaining hidden in the bagginess of his clothes. It'd take some time to move with the new weight but given how he continually caught Seokmin's eyes move to him, watching how his body seemed to dance with the additional adipose that he put on, he had a feeling that he'd need to get used to dancing with even more.
-
"Yah, Mingyu, you can't just double your waist size since we measured you! Your fans might like the weight, but consider the sylists!" He chuckled meekly after the first week of promotions, rubbing his belly as he smiled.
"Sorry, unnie... I just finished a protein shake, so I'm a little full." His eyes caught Seokmin's who looked away, almost ashamed. Mingyu smiled, seeing the way that he ducked out of his eyes contact. Considering the shake was shared between both of them, it was hard not to look at the way Seokmin's belly spread out onto his lap comfortably, straining the stage outfit that they designed for him.
The fans seemed to adore how comfortable they looked and Mingyu has gained more fans as quickly as he gained weight, saying that it made him more approachable. Plus, the constant influx of food gifts was contributing to why these stage outfits didn't even make their way onto his blubbery figure.
He felt a pat on his rotund behind as Seungcheol walked past him, "Make sure you get your fill before we go out. Going on stage hungry is a lot of work." The leader walked away, undoing the string on his torso, a large sigh leaving as his gut filled the space before Mingyu looked at himself in the mirror, a smile filling his face.
It wasn't the sort of bulk that he planned, but doing it with people he knew he could trust to support him made it easier to grow... and as long as he stayed mobile, it was enough. Although, he could go for a few extra pounds. He was reaching a personal record for the bench press.
Even if he couldn't even see his form beyond how high his gut sat on the bench.

Warrior Cats/Toh crossover????👀👀👀
Please tell me you have more on this, my childhood fixation and current fixation are being brought together
I do infact! alot of this stuff IS older as i have been more focused on other projects recently. (i will infodump everything i have so far on here i am so sorry)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Owl Family! Eda, known as Owlstar is the leader of Lightclan, a clan whose territory has been getting slowly cut back by the 2 other clans of the forest. Deerclan and Coveclan (Emperors coven and the other covens) Owlstar rose up when lightclan had nothing left, and she was willing to put her life at risk for it. Soon after, she finds a young kit on the borders of the unexplored lands, she finds King, known as Bonekit/paw in this au.
Luz, known as Lightpaw chased a Barn owl from her home as a kittypet, and finding Owlstar, who soon offered her a place in the clan in return for her help.
Left to right, Deerstar, Collector, Cardinalclaw
Tumblr media
Emperor Belos. Deerstar, is the leader of Deerclan, but has a powerful influence over Coveclan
Befriending a forest deity, he gained power, he would be weak in battle, but was given knowledge of everything, he used this power to become Leader. However this knowledge would also be a curse, for the Forest deity gave him antlers, and a painful form. (he can transform in and out of the form, i havent figured out how that works yet.)
After being rejected by the stars for his nine lives, he seeked out the collector who could bring him back from nearly anything, as long as he promised to let them out of the Caved Tunnels (The collector can survive in them because he isn’t technically alive?? just kind of there, he could still fight and hunt but couldnt leave)
Oh, Hunter is known as Cardinalclaw, and is Caleb and Evelyns son instead of a grimwalker since i have no idea how thatd work.
Cardinalclaw is deputy after Ravenswatcher (Lilith) goes back to Lightclan.
The territories! not much to explain here
Tumblr media
Deerclan is kind of in a marshy area? Deep waters is only for hunting when there is no food in the forested area. The Coveclan/Deerclan border is only shown in this, there is not a designated border.
Some arts ive done for the au! outdated style as mildly old.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will eventually post more of this as i quite like the au, maybe some screencap redraws. ^^

You all seemed very confused about my last post, trust me, I'm just as confused about the casting a spell that binds someone's sexuality, but I guess that's where we are.
Look, I try to be a compassionate person, but sometimes when you reconnect with someone who was close to you over 20 years ago and invite them to live in your home it doesn't always go well.
I don't like talking about other people's stories, especially online, but this has affected our life and our home and brought chaos into our space. So, this is my story.
This old friend seems to have it together, paid rent early and had a job lined up before they got here. It seemed they were having a bit of trouble adjusting. After a few months it was clear they were going through a mental health thing for the 3rd time in 2 months and making wild accusations and doing hurtful things like smoking cigarettes and massive amounts of weed when they know they have a lung problem and abandoning cats with no food or water or not paying all their rent or giving 30 days notice before they leave town, you just have to cut ties.
This was the last straw. The one before was 2 weeks ago when I was accused of thinking they wanted to use magic to steal my partner and that somehow because I knew stuff they didn't I was making them feel bad about it and that they think I think they just want to steal all my ideas.
I was compassionate. I stayed calm. I said I was confused, asked if she was okay. A few days later she came down crying to apologize, said she wasn't okay. We talked. I told her about the Oregon Health Plan and how she could get some help. She seemed grateful and she did and had an appointment lined up.
Then last week we left for Astoria for a night and she was there at 4 pm to bring a package in but by 1pm the next day when we got home most of her things were gone except furniture that wouldn't fit in her car. We didn't really notice the things gone at first and thought maybe she had gone on a little trip because the cats were still here so we fed them and got them water, then messaged her after a few days. She claims she had a medical issue and called an ambulance. Then her family came here and towed her home. The time line doesn't make sense. Her family is a 12 hour drive away. How long was she in the hospital? How long did it take to pack her car? Why did she leave the cats? Why didn't she tell us on her own about the medical emergency?
I'm a pretty forgiving person, especially if the person is honest and isn't trying to take advantage of me. It often bites me in the ass, but at least I know I can sleep at night and treat people to my own ethical standard until I hit a point.
Last night we got more confusing messages declaring we actually wanted her cats all along and the whole binding her sexuality thing. We decided that it wasn't worth putting effort into this relationship, she's with her family now, we aren't getting blood from a stone, and that we had done as much as we could, calmly said we were confused and hurt and will find new homes for the cats, and blocked her.
I don't usually air someone's personal issues online, but this is someone you will never know, they probably won't see this, I don't really care if they do, and this is my blog and this is an incredibly frustrating, emotionally laborious, and financially unexpected experience we are going through right now and I just need to vent.
I've already contacted a cat rescue about the cute nice cat and the hissing mean cat that won't come out of the closet. Now I need to get rid of a brand new IKEA bed frame, a couch, a big clothing rack, 2 poorly constructed book shelves, a TV, a bunch of clothes and shoes, a record player that doesn't work, a giant stack of new age books, and a bunch of other random shit.
Oh, and cleanse the house of that nonsense before finding a new housemate, which a friend of a friend is interested in.
All of this while we are working to make the shop on the first floor browsable.
Please do not make disparaging comments about someone who is seriously going through something. I don't need to hear it. It won't be helpful or have a point. I'm not mad, just annoyed and wishing people had better communication.

Today is labor day! And it feels thematically appropriate to finally. Finally. Tell Tumblr the secret I have been holding from the Internet for a month. I am 11 weeks pregnant! And today we finally got to tell my family. So I can also finally tell all of you. It has been incredibly hard to write my posts since July 31st when I first found out. And there are other versions of my posts I had written. So I will have to go back and edit those back. It wasn't all of the days but there is a good handful from the beginning of August!! It has been so hard to not say anything! It's why I've been so sick!
I was so nervous to tell my parents. How would they react?? Would i get the emotional excitement I hoped for?? It's basically all I wanted to talk about yesterday. And thankfully when I got home last night I was able to shower and settle and I was able to sleep pretty well, despite the nerves.
I had brought two flower arrangements home from the wedding. One for me and one for my parents. I was smart and dumped the water from the vases but would fill them up for the overnight. And in the morning they still looked great.
I woke up at 8. With the plan for us to leave at 830. James was making crepes and they looked so cute in their Uganda soccer kit. And I really love my denim dress. I felt good. I was nervous but I didn't feel sick. And I really hoped I could keep that going. Ride that wave as long as I could.
Right before we left I noticed one of my frogs was dead. Covered in snails. And I was so sad. So I think I have no frogs anymore. And it just bums me out so bad. I am just going to have to completely start my tank over. I can't get the snails to stop. It's ruined my tanks environment and it just sucks so bad. James would handle getting my baby frog out and buried. I was just really sad. But I tried to not let it ruin my day. We had a big thing to do.
I went out to the car to move stuff around so there would be room for us to bring our laundry with us to my parents. And soon we were on the road.
I brought a pillow and that made me more comfortable. I never fell asleep but I enjoyed resting and we listened to a podcast and it was not a bad drive at all. We wouldn't have to deal with any traffic and we got to my parents at 1030.
We didn't discuss between, me and James, how we were going to tell them. We had packed a little gift bag, with the ultra sound from my last appointment (remember when I went to see that 'specialist'?) and James picked a fig from the tree to bring with us. I packed it like a gift. And when we got to the house we put the flowers and the gift bag in the kitchen table and just didn't mention it. I would have to decide on the right time.
The dogs didn't bark when we came in. It was like they were so excited they were basically honking??? Mom would come out and was very surprised. But I was so happy to see her.
Dad was still getting ready for the day. So I would have to wait.
We would chill in the living room. And talked about life and just catching up. It was hard to redirect the conversation when Mom would talk about me feeling sick, but also when she brought up our planned Scotland trip. The problem being my expected due date is two weeks before the trip. So I was pretty sure we were going to have to reschedule that. Which makes me a little sad but I knew she would understand.
I went to bother Dad and tell him to hurry up and join us. And soon he would. But I wouldn't tell them yet still.
Around 1130 mom asked if we wanted to order pizza. I had had my two crepes in the car but I absolutely wanted pizza now. I love the pizza place near them. So we would order pizza and James got a cheese steak and mom got a quesadilla.
While we waited for the food to be delivered, mom brought up Scotland again. And I decided it was the right time. I honestly wish I got it on video because she had such an amazing reaction. I told James to get the gift bag and mom was like. Why do I get a gift?? And I'm like well it's kind of a thing for both of you.
She brought out the framed ultrasound first. And she literally stopped mid sentence and goes. No??? You're fucking joking?? Jesse??!! You're joking?? And I go right into explaining, this is why I've been sick. And she ran over to me to give me a hug. And dad is like ??? What is happening, Sharon stop cursing!!! And mom hasn't shown him the frame yet and he wasn't getting it. But we finally hand it to him and he gets it and he go no!! Omg!! And they were both so excited. She claims she didn't cry but I saw the teary eyes. She was so excited. Dad was so excited.
Then I explained the fig. And dad goes. Wow. My grandchild, as he holds it up. And then I explain the whole story. When we were on the cruise I was nauseous. Jess's parents kept saying I was pregnant. I didn't want to take a test until August 1st, despite missing two persons. But when I got off the cruise and was still nauseous I spoke to the camp nurse and she convinced me to take a pregnancy test on July 31. And that evening I did and it was immediate. "PREGNANT". And then I told James. And we high fived. And then the next day we told Charlotte because she was leaving for Spain. On August 2nd I made an appointment for an obgyn but I let them know I had been sick but also I was spotting and they said I needed to go to the ER. So I had to tell Alexi and Heather and Elizabeth because I had to leave camp.
And when I got the the er I got fluids and they confirmed the pregnancy but I also got an ultrasound. Based on my last missed period they thought I might be 10 weeks but I was actually more like 6/7. And I got to see it early. It didn't look like much but I got to see it! And I drew a pictuee of it to show James later.
And then in the ten days between the ER and the OB-GYN appointment I lost 10lbs from being sick. And the midwife was so nice and James got to see them and they still didn't look like much but we got to see their heartbeat. And now I have my next appointment tomorrow. And I'm so nervous because anything and everything can go wrong. And I can't see them because my belly isn't see through so I just have to believe they are growing safely. And I really hope we get to see them tomorrow but I don't actually know if we will because I don't know how often you get ultrasounds. I want to see them every time though, only seems fair.
But they were just so excited. And when the door bell rang with our friends it took everything in mon not to just tell the pizza man that her daughter was pregnant. But it was the main point of conversation for the rest of the day.
Lunch was great. I actually ate 4 pieces of pizza! And I would actually feel pretty well through around 230. We would talk about the research and reading we have done to get ready. The book I'm reading. Things we have learned. Mom told us about her experiences and James finished the laundry between topics. It was just so nice. It was so nice to be able to talk about everything. About the scary things. About me accidently ripping my boobie skin off with kinesiology tape. About how I have had all my eggs since I was a baby inside of Mom. So this baby has always been with us, our whole lives. And it makes me just a little emotional to think about.
And like I am still scared. It could not be growing. It could not be growing correctly
It could be missing organs, or a skull. It could be perfect and then die at the end. Or it can be totally fine and I can come home with a new little person. That looks like me and James. The person I love so much.
And I just have to believe that no matter what happens I will be okay, and it will all work out how it's supposed to. Just how I have always believed.
And James got to talk about their excitement too. They are a little more focused on my health. They are just so worried about me being so sick. But they are also such an amazing support. And I love them so much.
I started feeling not amazing. And we had one more stop at Xavier and Kaitlyn's house. So at 3 we would give hugs all around. Mom and me had gone down to the basement and she gave me a nice new basket and a bunch of pencils for camp. And we got all of that in the car. And said goodbye. It was exciting that we got to give them something to be excited about. I love them so very much.
We left there and headed to our friends. They are about 40 minutes from my parents. And it was really nice to see them. They are expecting as well, and she's only a few weeks behind me! How crazy!! We talked about our different experiences. She said her mom was barely sick and that's been her experience so far, while my mom was sick the whole time and that's my experience too. Rough. But I enjoyed hanging out. They brought us a few little Pokemon things from Japan. And we just talked and caught up and spent an hour and a half there. It was fun.
But I was losing steam. So it was time to go. We said goodbye and headed not. See them soon!!
We would stop at Wawa on the way home. We got drinks and snacks. I got a small hoagie. And it did help me feel a little better. But the drive home would be a bit tough on us
Not much traffic, but our cord wasn't charging right. My phone would get down to 2%. And people were driving terrible. James couldn't stop sneezing. And the sun was so strong and directly in our faces. We couldn't block it no matter what we tried. So it was not a super fun trip back. But we were fine. And we would finally get home at 7.
We got everything inside. And I was just like. I gotta go lay down. James would put our clothes away. And we would just enjoy hanging out and doing our own thing in our bedroom. James worked on writing. I watched videos and scrolled. It was calm.
Eventually I took a bath. I have so many blasters on my feet from last night so the I put in the water hurt but I am sure it helped. And now we are in bed. And I am so ready to sleep. There was so much emotionally charged moments today. Like in the best way but man. I am exhausted.
And tomorrow we get to go to the OB-GYN again. This time we get to meet Dr Hoffman. Of Hoffman and associates! Which is the name of the practice. I get to have appointments with all the drs and midwives so we get to know everyone. I think it's smart. But also a little nerve wracking. You never in now what they are going to tell you. I just hope it's all good news you know?
But now it's time to sleep. I hope you all sleep great. I love you all so much. I will start editing the redacted posts and when I finish that (probably Thursday) I will make a post with the dates of the changes posts! If you want to go back and read them.
Goodnight everyone. Have fun tomorrow!!

Currently Reading - November 2023
Gosh, it's been a little while since I did one of these!
The Year of Peril: America in 1942 - Tracey Campbell . Found this one at the library booksale just after I finished the 1942 podcast series. The book is excellent so far and really flipping some interesting issues over.
Just Finished Reading:
Millions Like Us: Women's Lives during the Second World War by Virgina Nicolson - This was excellent and I strongly recommend it. I got a lot of inspiration for the end of TDS in it and there's a lot of material that I think will come in handy for MOTA.
Sisters in Arms: British Army Nurses Tell Their Story, by Nicola Tyrer - Another super excellent book that filled in a serious knowledge gap I had about British nursing. Might come in handy for future SAS:RH productions.
An Unladylike Profession: American Women War Correspondents in World War I by Chris Dubbs - This was an impulse purchase on thriftbooks and was very interesting.
The Call of the Wrens, by Jenni Walsh. Fiction. Glad this was only a library book - it was just okay. I'm not a big fan of time jumps as a narrative device - it feels thin.
Cassiel's Servant, by Jacqueline Carey. Fiction. It was really fun to go back to Terre D'Ange for this one, and interesting to see Joscelin's side of things. Realized Joscelin may be why/how I write Dick the way I do.
Ashes under water : the SS Eastland and the shipwreck that shook America, by Michael McCarthy. This was a book club pick that I ended up not being able to join discussion on. A really interesting story, if you're into maritime disasters.
Prisoners of the castle : an epic story of survival and escape from Colditz, the Nazis' fortress prison, by Ben Macintyre. This was on the shelf at the library and I was reading mostly for mentions of David Stirling. Still - very interesting, especially when paired with...
Churchill's Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: The Mavericks Who Plotted Hitler's Defeat, by Giles Milton. This book was fascinating. A lot of backstory behind the stuff that made the war work.
The Immortal life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot. A book club pick that I'm really glad I read.
Just Finished Watching:
Our Miracle Years (Unsere wunderbaren Jahre, Das Erste/PBS) - follows the life of one family in the post-war period. Some good food for thought here.
A Place to Call Home, Season 1 (Foxtel/ Hoopla) - More post-war, this time in Australia, which I started just as something to watch and am now very embroiled in. (Fair warning, this show contains conversation therapy, a miscarriage, and antisemitism, and may probably be triggering for some.)
World On Fire, Season 2 (BBC/PBS) - I came, I brought my Passport subscription, I tried...and after all six episodes I still don't like this show. I don't feel like we spend enough time with any of the characters to really appreciate them. It feels like everyone's there to make a point.
Outlander Season 7 (STARZ) - This was just fun. I'm not a huge fan of the books, but the TV series is really enjoyable for me.
Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951) - This has been on my list for a while and it popped up recently on Hoopla. I like Peck's nervousness in the role.
Dalgliesh, Season 2 (Acorn/Hoopla) - Bertie Carvel continues to do great in this role. I kind of wish there was a crossover involving him and Morse.
To Walk Invisible (BBC/ PBS)- It was really fun to watch this back to back with Emily.
Emily (2022) - Getting two mostly recent takes on the Bronte sisters so close together was really interesting.
Farewell My Queen (2012) - watched this while on vacation in Williamsburg. A nice 18th century drama.
