The marauders were heading to the great hall when James rounded a corner and bumped straight into Regulus.
The collision sent Regulus’ books flying. He looked down at the mess, then up at James with a sharp, annoyed glare.
“Oops. Sorry, Reggie.” James said, crouching to gather the books. He grinned at his friends, who stood watching. Sirius just shrugged.
Regulus crossed his arms, clearly unimpressed. “Don’t call me that,” he snapped.
James stood and handed him the books with a sweet smile. “Noted, Reggie.”
The nickname earned him an even sharper glare. Regulus rolled his eyes and muttered, “You’re pretty fucking obnoxious. Do you know that?”
With that, he spun around and walked off down the corridor, his robes fluttering dramatically behind him.
“Hey Reggie, that’s rude!” Sirius called after him, but Regulus didn’t look back.
James was still standing there, smiling like an idiot.
“Prongs,” Remus said, pinching the bridge of his nose, “need I remind you that being called obnoxious is an insult? So maybe stop smiling like that.”
James grinned, still staring at the empty hallway. “But he just called me pretty,” he said dreamily.
The others groaned in unison.
“Oh, come on,” Peter muttered, looking at their lovesick friend helplessly.

✋🏻 i have a request
so i’m a loudmouth, a D1 yapper if you will. could you maybe please write something with a yapper reader who just gets quiet and flustered in regulus’s presence?
like she’ll be going on about the randomest thing and regulus walks by and her mouth snaps shut and her face gets bright red.
hiiiii! I decided to pair this with two anonymous requests for our dear reggie too! prompt 2: I was thinking maybe a Potter! Reader who is in the same year as Regulus and has a huge crush on him, she just kind of watches him from a distance, here comes James and Sirius noticing and they try to set her up with Reggie prompt 3: I was wondering if I could get a regulus x reader where regulus is like close to the marauders and then Reggie gains like a crush on reader and the marauders find out and like kinda spy on them but like not well and maybe it ends in Reggie asking reader out
Regulus Black x Potter!reader who has a 'big fat crush' on Reggie
CW: sibling squabbles, this was hard for me to write for some reason so I'm sorry if it reads awkwardly!
“I’m just saying, if you didn’t want your essay to go up in flames, maybe you should have spent less time talking about which of your classmates were ‘filthy blood traitors’, and more time making sure I couldn’t point my wand at your parchment, you know?” You asked rhetorically as James and Sirius roared with laughter.
“How far along was he in his essay?” Peter asked with a low chuckle before taking another bite of his lunch.
“Oh, he was done. He probably should have handed it in instead of running his mouth.” You said with a proud smirk as your brother roughly patted you on the back, letting out another bark of laughter.
“I would have paid good money to see the look on his face.” Sirius said as he wiped fake tears away from under his eyes.
“Find me a pensieve, Black, and I’ll show you.” You offered with a wink before remembering something.  “Oh! James, I meant to tell you; I heard from Janey who heard from Cromwell who heard from Collins whose sister works at Honeydukes that they’re having a sale on those caramel sugar quills that-”
“-Lily likes so much!” James finished for you. “My hero! Thank you!” He said as he pressed a sloppy kiss to the side of your head.
You feigned disgust and rubbed it off before continuing. “If you want, I can ask Janey to ask Cromwell to ask Collins to ask his sister to put some aside for you?”
“I’d owe you my life.” He responded solemnly.
“Chocolate frogs will suffice.”
“Consider it done.”
“I’d like chocolate frogs too, Prongs.” Remus offered then.
“What have you done to help me win over the girl of my dreams, Moony?” James countered.
“I’ve not told her about the time you screamed like an ickle little first year when you found Fenwick’s toad in your shoe.” Remus replied plainly.
“Why do they have to have warts!?” James groaned miserably as he remembered his toad assault.
“The bumps aren’t actually warts, Jamie; they’re glands. They contain a toxin that they will secrete if they feel threatened.” You explained.
James blinked at you owlishly before shaking his head in disgust. “That doesn’t make me feel any better.”
“Hello, Sirius.” Regulus’ voice interrupted then, standing stiffly behind Sirius as he looked around the group of you. “Lupin, Pettigrew…Potter’s.”
“‘Sup, Reggie?” Sirius responded easily.
“‘Lo, baby Black! What brings you to the red side of the Great Hall?” James asked then, earning him a glare from the younger Black brother.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Well that just makes me want to call you that even more.” James admitted.
“What brings you to the Gryffindor table?” Remus repeated with a knowing smirk.
“Can’t I just come say hello to my brother?” He asked defensively.
“You could, but would you?” Sirius asked sceptically then.
Sirius and Regulus stared at each other in silence before Regulus finally sighed.
“Potter, erm… Y/N, I was wondering if you’ve finished Professor Sprout’s essay about the proper propagation of venomous tentacula’s?”
At the following silence, James turned to notice you staring at Regulus in what appeared to be abject horror before you slowly nodded your head.
“How, uhm… how many feet of parchment did it end up being?” Regulus continued awkwardly; his eyes flitting between you and his brother.
The group watched as you opened your mouth a few times only to close it again - not unlike some socially awkward fish - before clearing your throat.
“Erm…I think it’s about four feet.”
Regulus seemed relieved by your answer and nodded in understanding. “Good, mine is about that as well.”
James looked between his friends, his sister, and his best friend’s little brother after a few moments when it became clear that no one was going to say anything else.
“Was…was that all, Regulus?” Peter asked then, clearly agreeing with James that lunch had quickly become painfully awkward.
Regulus seemed to look at you first, only responding when you kept your gaze down at the wood grain of the table.
“I suppose so. I’ll see you lot around.”
And with that, the Slytherin boy hurried back to his side of the Great Hall.
James’ eyes only left Regulus’ form when he heard a miserable groan escape your lips as you let your head fall to the table with a thunk.
“What the fuck was that?” Sirius and James questioned at the same time.
“I’ve gotta go.” You muttered miserably as you gathered your bag and stood from the Gryffindor bench.
“Where?!” James called after you.
“To run away with the fucking centaurs at this point!” You called back before disappearing through the doors.
“Since when does Regulus come to say hi to you, Pads?” Peter asked then, still watching Regulus from across the hall who now had his eyes glued to the door.
Sirius, who up until that point looked just as bemused as Peter did, had a look of understanding dawn on his face.
“Merlin’s beard.” He hissed as he smacked James in the arm from across the table.
“Ow! What? What? Why are you hitting me?” James called as he rubbed his arm protectively.
“When was the last time you saw Y/N be reduced to awkward silence?” He asked then.
“At mum and dads fundraising gala when that wizard from Witch Weekly attended.” James answered quickly; knowing that one of his sister’s greatest strengths was her ability to talk (especially when it helped get them all out of trouble). “Though she’s been doing it an awful lot lately.”
“Like when you coerced Regulus into joining us at the Three Broomsticks last weekend.” Remus offered.
James nodded. “And when I made her come with me to scout the Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin game last Monday.”
“And when Regulus just happened to be looking for a Herbology textbook when she was studying in the Herbology section of the library.” Remus continued.
“Godric’s balls.” Peter breathed out, looking towards Sirius incredulously. “You’re not suggesting-”
“-that our littlest Potter has a big fat crush on the littlest Black? I sure am.” Sirius said smugly.
“I don’t think she’s the only one with a ‘big fat crush’.” Remus added, nodding towards Regulus who was chewing aggressively on his lip, still looking in the direction you just went.
“Oh my Godric.” James hissed as he turned towards Sirius excitedly. “Oh my Godric, Pads! We’d be real life actual brother’s-in-law!”
“I’m going to walk Reggie down the aisle.” Sirius added wistfully as he clutched at his chest.
“Merlin and Morgana. They can’t even make it through a sodding conversation; stop planning their wedding.” Remus muttered as he turned a page in his book.
James let out an incredibly dramatic gasp as he looked at Remus. “You’re right. We have to do something!”
“What do you say, boys? Up for some mischief for the greater good?” Sirius asked with a perfectly arched eyebrow.
“Operation turn Potter Black!” James cheered to the group, causing the three boys to look at him in various levels of bemusement and discomfort.
“Erm, Prongs…” Peter started.
“Absolutely fucking not.” Remus added.
“We can’t call it that.” Sirius agreed.
“We’ll circle back to it.” James said as he stood from the table.
Sirius shared a slightly panicked look with the other two Marauders before standing as well. “No…no James, we really can’t call it that.”
“It’ll be a placeholder until you guys think of something better!”
“Anything would be better.” Peter whined as they all trailed out of the Great Hall in the name of mischief.

“Quick! You’ve got to see what we’ve planned.” James had said to you as he grabbed you roughly by your arm outside of Transfiguration and hauled you in the direction of the library.
You allowed him to nearly drag you through the courtyard and into the central haul; apologising to students that you nearly collided with in his haste.
“But…what did McLaggen do? Why are you pranking him?” You asked breathlessly as the two of you made it to the library doors.
“The bloke’s a prick, Trouble, do keep up.” Sirius called as you met up with him.
The two boys ushered you through stacks of books towards the end of the library that held private study rooms when Remus and Peter materialised from a row of shelves.
“He’s coming!” Peter squeaked as Remus quickly redirected the three of you.
“That way, quickly.”
Knowing better than to question Remus, you allowed James to guide you by the shoulder towards one of the private study rooms in order to hide from McLaggen as he walked into their trap.
Except…
Except no sooner had Sirius opened the door did James bodily shove you into the room before they slammed the door behind you.
“Wha- James!” You shouted as you heard him cast a locking charm and a muffliato around the door.
“What are they up to now?” A tired voice sounded from behind you.
You squeezed your eyes shut as you realised what they had done, praying to every deity that the voice didn’t belong who you thought it belonged to.
But of course, the deities didn’t give a bowtruckles arse about you, so you turned on the spot to see Regulus Black sitting at the end of the table looking at you with a sceptical expression and one perfectly arched brow.
Godric, he was beautiful.
“Making my life hell.” You answered despondently.
Regulus offered you a tight lipped smile as he nodded in understanding. “Ah, so, regular brother stuff then?”
You breathed out a chuckle as you nodded, trying once more at the door before giving up in your efforts to escape.
“What did you do to get yourself locked in a room with me?” He asked then, fiddling with the tomes and notes in front of him.
“Had the audacity to be born into the Potter family, I guess.” You muttered.
Regulus made a non-committal sound as he considered you. “I’m sure a lot of people would have loved the honour.”
Your face softened as you looked at the Slytherin boy. “I know they’ve asked you already, but you should come, you know? I know Sirius would love it if you did, and my parents would too.”
Regulus nodded slowly at you, though he never moved his gaze from your eyes. “I wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable.”
“Uncomfortable?”
Regulus smiled ruefully then. “Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t get the impression that you like me very much.”
You stood there with your mouth agape like some mute opera singer. “Okay, I’ll correct you then; you’re very wrong Regulus Black.”
“Oh, I’m very wrong, am I?”
“Horribly so, I’m afraid; I can’t believe you’d even say such a thing.” You continued haughtily; finally sitting down in a chair across from him.
“Well, you see, everyone is always telling me how much of a chatterbox you are, yet you never seem too keen on chatting with me. In fact, I’m pretty sure you’ve exchanged more words with Mulciber at this point.” He teased.
“The most I ever talk to Mulciber is to tell him to go fuck himself!”
A divot formed between his brows as he tilted his head in confusion. “Is that not just your love language? I’ve heard you say the exact same thing to Potter and my brother.”
You narrowed your eyes at him as you leaned back in your chair. “Touche”
Regulus smirked at you then. “So, why don’t you talk to me?”
You let out a heaving sigh and looked to the ceiling.
You were trapped, and you knew why you were trapped, and you figured there was no use in pretending that you didn’t.
“I suppose I find you a little…nerve wracking.” You settled for, figuring that telling him you thought he was so handsome that even standing within his vicinity seemed to short circuit not only your brain but somehow your entire nervous system would perhaps be a little much.
“Oh good.” He responded, sounding truly relieved by your answer. “I thought it was only me.”
What? You thought stupidly.
“What?” You asked stupidly.
“I find you a little nerve wracking too.” He responded.
“Me?”
“You.”
“Why?” You nearly shrilled before remembering yourself and feeling immediately embarrassed for your theatrics.
“Well, I suppose for the same reasons you find me nerve wracking?” Regulus offered. “You’re really quite pretty, Y/N.”
You swear to all of the gods that your brain made an audible record scratch sound at that moment as you tried to compute what he had said to you.
He called you pretty, that much went without interpretation. But did he just insinuate that he knew you thought he was pretty?
“You do know that, right?” He asked, shaking you from your internal spiralling.
“Know what?”
Regulus smirked then. “That you’re pretty?”
You scoffed and crossed your arms petulantly. “Of course I knew that; I just wasn’t aware that you did, too.”
“Ah,” He started with a smile. “My apologies, I’ll make it more obvious that I find you attractive going forward.”
“Thank you.” You huffed.
“You’re very welcome.”
The two of you allowed a semi-comfortable silence to lap as he continued watching you and you continued looking anywhere else but him.
“So,” He interrupted eventually. “What now?”
You tapped your arms in thought. “Now I figure out how to get back at my meddlesome brother.”
Regulus hummed as he nodded his head. “I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
“Yeah…hey, do you happen to know where I could find a toad or two?”
“Yes, actually. I’m quite certain Evan and Barty are breeding some in the dungeons.” He answered with a look of ill-hidden discomfort at the thought.
“Do you think they’d let me borrow some?”
“Well that depends; would they be used for chaos and/or destruction?”
“Yes.” You responded quickly.
“Oh, well then absolutely.” He quipped back.
He smiled and held your gaze before leaning on his arms against the table. “How about this? I’ll ask Barty and Evan for some of their toads, if you go to Hogsmeade with me next weekend.”
You narrowed your eyes as you pretended to think about it before extending your hand across the table. “Deal.”
He shook your hand as he offered you a crooked smile before leaning back into his seat.
The door popped open just enough for your brother to poke his traitorous head in. “Are you guys in love yet?”
He barely had time to pull his head out of the frame and shut the door as you hurled your book bag at him; the blunt force instrument you had hoped would at the very least incapacitate your brother simply thudding against the wall before falling to the ground in a sad heap.
“You know he’s just going to keep you locked in here longer for that, right?” Regulus asked you then.
You made a non-committal sound as you settled back into your chair. “Perhaps that isn't such a bad thing.”

cw: mentions of injury, swearing

You were hoping and praying that the sound of your hip smacking against the doorknob would go unnoticed by your boyfriends, but much to your dismay, Remus’ head had spun around to look at you, and he quirked a brow at your slip-up. He was looking at you with much judgment, but there was playfulness glinting in his amber irises.
“Again, dove? That’s like the fourth time today.” His voice was teasing but his features were laced in concern.
“No…” you denied. You weren’t technically lying, because it was actually the sixth or seventh.
“At this rate we’re gonna have to take all the doorknobs off.” James teased, making you roll your eyes.
Before you could think of a response, Sirius cut in. “I’m not sure that would help Prongs, they’re determined to bump into everything.”
“I don’t bump into everything. Stop being so dramatic.” You put all your focus into walking steadily into the kitchen, not wanting to prove their point even further.
“Whatever you say, babe.” Sirius said, in a tone that clearly showed he did not believe you. You ignored him, going to the cupboard to grab a cup, only you ended up failing miserably. The cup slipped from your grip, bouncing off the shelf, hitting the counter, and rolling onto the ground, ending up by Sirius’ feet. (This is the reason you had plastic cups)
“Wha-” James struggled through barking laughter. “What were you just saying, gorgeous?” You took it in stride, marching over to Sirius to pick up the cup.
Unfortunately, you forgot that Sirius is himself, and he took your position as an opportunity to pinch your ass, making you stumble and slip backwards. You would’ve fallen if he hadn't caught you.
“Don’t be mean Pads, you know they’re jumpy.” James scolded his boyfriend.
“I know, it’s just so funny. They’re like a little baby fawn.” He teased as you wormed your way out of his grasp defiantly.
“It’s not funny, it’s worrying.” Remus scolded the two other boys, beckoning you over. You happily took the escape, deciding you would take his coddling over their bullying. Remus grabbed your arm, trying to pull you into him, but you hissed suddenly. Remus looked confused, but it was James who spoke up.
“Shit, baby! I didn’t even notice that.” The time it took for you to realize what he was talking about was very little, remembering the blooming bruise that spread over your upper arm.
“Ouch, lovely.” Remus sympathized, though you knew you were in for a telling off soon. “How have you done that?”
“I- I don’t remember.” You admitted, shamefully.
“What do you mean you don’t remember? You have a bruise the size of Asia on your arm!” James said, exasperated. He was being dramatic, as is his usual fashion when it came to you.
“I don’t know, it just showed up.” You said, cheeks flaming at the attention.
“A bruise like that doesn’t just ‘show up.’” Sirius said back, equal parts teasing and stressed.
“I probably just bumped it on something.” You floundered, very much ready for this conversation to be over. You honestly didn’t know what they expected, as much as you would never be caught admitting it, you were quite clumsy. There were usually a myriad of bruises littering your skin, varying in color and age from bumping into things or falling over. Not to mention the scars and scrapes on your hands from kitchen or craft accidents. You had to admit, you gave your boyfriends a fair amount of injuries to fuss over.
And fuss they did.
“Well we knew that.” Sirius snarked back, still loving as ever. “The issue is that you bump into things so often you don’t remember specific occasions. I mean, come on ba-"
“Settle.” Remus cut his eyes to Sirius. Despite how much it seemed like he was picking on you, it came from a place of concern, much like James’ babying and Remus’ scolding. You softened at their worried expressions.
“Look, I’ll try to be more careful, okay?” You said, threading your fingers into Remus’ mousy hair and giving a reassuring smile to the other two boys.
“You’re okay, sweetheart.” James consoled. “We just get protective, you know that. We don’t like you getting hurt, especially when you ignore it.” He gave you a knowing look. “Just look after yourself, for our sake.”
“Okay,” You sighed, overdramatic. “I guess I’ll try, it’s such intense labor, though.” You said sarcastically, walking away to the bathroom and hearing your boys chuckle.
Whack! Your thigh collided with the end table.
“That’s it!” Sirius called. “I’m ordering you a bubble suit.”

“I just don’t see why they would change them,” James complains, sipping dissatisfiedly at his butterbeer.
“You’re such a creature of habit,” Sirius sighs heavily, but you all know his boredom is for show. He only wants to rile James.
“The old quidditch uniforms were just fine,” James is practically monologuing now, staring into the middle distance with a furrow between his brows. His elbow bumps your arm as he gestures helplessly. “Red and gold—those are the Gryffindor colors, red and gold. So why are the new uniforms bright red and yellow?”
“Maybe so you’re more visible,” you suggest, and Remus’ lips twist amusedly as he leans across the table to sip at your butterbeer. Neither of you had much appetite after your long day of snacking at the quidditch match, so you’d agreed to split one. You’ll admit, you find the two straws poking out of your mug embarrassingly romantic.
“We look tacky,” James grumbles, slumping a bit in his seat. You see Remus’ arm reach under the table, and you know he’s straining to rub his boyfriend’s thigh consolingly. “The gold was so much better.”
“At least you can pull off a yellow like that,” Sirius points out. “Can’t say the same for Callaghan. He looked totally washed out.”
This would be your time to chip in with a comment about how Sirius’ pallid countenance wouldn’t fare so well in the new colors either, but you find you don’t want to. There’s a persistent pressure at your temples. Once you acknowledge it, the rest is impossible to stop. Exhaustion seeps into you like a poison, all the way down to your bones, and you’re done. You’ve been around people—mostly your boyfriends, who you love very much, but people nonetheless—since you woke up this morning, and had talked and laughed and participated all day long, and now you’re done. You want to be home.
“True, but even he looked better than you would have, Pads,” James voices the zinger for you, he and Remus trading entertained looks when Sirius starts spluttering about how he looks good in every color, thank you very much.
“Alright, I can’t have any more of this.” Remus pushes the butterbeer towards you decisively. “All yours, dove.”
You know you haven’t had anywhere near your fair share, but the idea of reaching over, of going through the effort of bringing the straw to your lips, is too much. “Thanks,” you say to him, “I’m good.”
Remus’ brow creases. You feel horribly dramatic.
“I’ll take it,” James says merrily, reaching for the mug before Sirius slaps his hand away.
“Oi, it’s hers.” Sirius gives him a mean look, nudging the butterbeer back towards you. “You’re like a fucking vulture, Prongs. Darling, are you sure you don’t want what’s left? You know he’ll down it in one gulp.”
“I’m sure.” You try to give him a smile, but even you can feel what a flimsy attempt it is. “Thanks anyway.”
Sirius’ expression clouds over with concern, and you look at the table.
“Hey.” James reaches for your hand, squeezing your fingers lightly between his. “What’s up, lovely?”
You sigh, leaning your head on his shoulder. “Just tired.”
Sirius makes an incredulous sound, and you know what he wants to say even though he doesn’t. Yeah, I can see that. “Did something happen?” he asks instead.
You frown, hating that you don’t have a more satisfying answer. “No.”
“Dove,” Remus tries to get your attention from across the table. “Are you feeling sick?”
“No. I’m fine.”
“You don’t seem fine, honey.” James’ voice is soft, but you can hear the unease in it. “Are you sure you’re not sick?” He touches the back of his hand to your forehead, then lets it slip down to your cheek. “Maybe it was the butterbeer. Rem, are you feeling alright?”
“I feel normal,” Remus says, seeming at a loss.
“Hey.” There’s a hand on your leg, and you look up to see Sirius leaning towards you, giving you one of his stern looks. “What’s going on with you, huh? Talk to us.”
“I’m fine, seriously.” You do your best to look it, sitting up from James’ shoulder, though your dull voice belies your words. “I’m just drained.”
“Drained how?” he presses.
“Just…done.” You shrug helplessly. “I’m sorry, I think I want to go home. I just need to be by myself for a little bit, is that okay?”
“Of course,” Remus says, standing and grabbing his coat. “You don’t have to be sorry, dove. It was just a long day, is that it?”
You nod, relieved.
He shrugs on his own coat before grabbing yours, helping you into it when you slide out of the booth. “I understand. It’s been a lot of socializing for one day. You should have told us you were feeling tired, I could have gone home with you after the game.”
“I didn’t know until it just happened,” you say, but you don’t have the energy to really argue.
Remus doesn’t want to, either. He kisses the top of your head as he zips your coat, taking your hand in his.
“We’ll get you home and you can hole up as long as you need,” Sirius promises, pulling on his gloves. “You introverts, so weak.”
“She’s probably drained because of you,” James teases back. He wraps a protective arm around your shoulders, tucking you against his side.
“That’s not how it works,” you say quietly, but James shushes you, dipping down to kiss the side of your head.
“I know, angel, but if you say it is, he’ll be buying your butterbeers for the next week. The month, if you play it right.”

hiii jade!! are you planning to do any pregnant!reader x sirius
don't mind me i'm a sucker for sirius fluff 🤭
Sirius blows into your ear gently. “You’re falling asleep.”
You’ve moved into his lap like a cheap tent badly pitched. Your neck hurts, your face against your own shoulder, but the brunt of your weight held up by your antagoniser. Sirius doesn’t complain about your elbow in his stomach or your cheek on his chest, but his embrace isn’t free, clearly. It comes with teasing.
“I’m not.”
“You are, my love.”
You tamp down a full body shiver. How nice it is to be so warm and be held so closely. His arms encircle your front firmly but casual all the same. He never seems shy about anything.
“Do I look bulbous?” you question.
James hears it from the kitchen table. “Afraid so!”
“No,” Sirius says, ignoring his cruel friend. He brings his hand to your stomach and covers as much of your bump as he can, which isn’t much. “Stupid question.”
“Are you going to come and help at any point, mate?” James calls. “Or shall I install your cabinets by myself?”
“In a minute, Prongs!” He kisses your cheek. “My girl needs a minute, don’t you?”
“I’m okay.”
Sirius hums and shifts you closer to his chest. He’s been even sweeter than usual lately. You worried it might freak you out if he was going to keep treating you like a fragile, breakable thing, even give you a smarmy feeling —you’re pregnant, not incapable. But it’s all been well-received. Honestly, you could do with more moments like this, but you won’t tell him that, and he won’t hold it over your head that he knows.
“He can do it himself anyways. I just hold the screws.” Sirius touches your stomach. “How’s the kicking?”
“You can feel it if you go a little higher.”
“Yeah?” His hand climbs slowly upward, waiting for the little kicks. He presses down firmly, the only sign he’s felt your baby’s movements a catch in his breath. “There he is. Oh, fuck, he’s really going for it tonight. Jesus Christ.”
“It’s fine. I like him kicking like that. Less pressure on everything else.”
Sirius grins and draws a line under the kicks with a proud hand. “You need anything before I go help the nuisance?” he asks.
You tip your head back, pouting for a kiss you receive in less than a second. He’s rough in his way, gentle as he moves back and chucks you under the chin. “Get off me, then,” he says.
You laugh and flop onto your side. He pats your hip as he goes, not going far.

@jegulus-microfic – Day 12 • Amortentia • wc 312
•••
“Remus, Remus!” Regulus came rushing into the great hall with James trailing behind him. He stopped abruptly, almost making James bump into him. “Help me, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.” flailing his hands between him and his fluffy-haired shadow.
James put a hand on Regulus’s bicep rubbing gentle circles into it, looking down at how his dark curls sat against sharp cheekbones.
“I don’t see the problem.” Remus replied hesitantly.
“The idiot drank amortentia this morning and won’t leave me alone.” He huffed, brushing off James’s hand and taking a step away just for James to take a step closer again.
James looked dejected and reached out to brush a lose curl behind his boyfriend’s ear, running his finger across the line of his jaw. “Reggie” he whined.
“I’m not sure how to help, Regulus. He’s not acting much different than usual.”
Sirius came running up to them then, ruffling James’s hair and moving to stand next to Remus. “What’s up, why’s Reg here?”
“Pads! Hi! I’ve been with him all morning. He’s been super grumpy but he’s so pretty when he is.” James said excitedly, stroking the side the younger’s face which earned him a groan from Sirius.
Ignoring his brother’s presence and the show of affection from his doe-eyed boyfriend, Regulus turned back to Remus. “I can’t put up with this all day. Please just help me.”
“Help with what?” Sirius questioned, looking between the two of them.
Regulus let out a loud whine of frustration, “What is wrong with you two!”
“James supposedly drank amortentia.” Remus told Sirius.
Sirius looked wide eyed at James now. “Really Prongs? I thought people started going crazy when they have it? You seem fine.”
“What are you talking about! He’s acting like a crazy lovesick puppy!” Regulus shouted.
“Yeah… that’s pretty much the norm for him when you’re around, Reg.”

Potions concluded with the setting sun. You adjusted in your seat to reach your bag, dropping supplies into its dark void. You had managed to phase the unusual situation you were in to the back of your mind, forgetting your secret admirer as you completed the class work. This was, however, short lived.
You turned back to your desk and spotted a folded note on its surface, the paper identical to the one you received the night before. You attempted to conceal your growing curiosity and excitement as you swiftly snatched it and launched yourself out of your chair, bag in hand.
Turning to leave the room, you thought of your friends’ ecstatic faces at the discovery of a new note, before-
Bump.
“Oh Merlin, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to…” You turned your frame to face the source of disruption, air pushed from your lungs for just a second. There stood a tentative James Potter, a splattering of rose appearing on his cheeks at your eye contact. “Um, I- I’m sorry!” He rambled, rushing away before you could even consider the interaction.
Your stomach quietly dipped and flipped at the contact, creating an unfamiliar warmth which you quickly forced down as you shook your head with a small smile. James Potter, ladies man, smooth talker and prank puller couldn’t even form a coherent sentence around you. Strange. Though, at least he apologised this time.
You exited the classroom, remembering the note you held in your hand, and practically skipped towards the Gryffindor common room with bubbling enthusiasm.
——————— ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪ ———————
“And then I just froze! I can’t help it, her eyes are so captivating and she smells really good and the way she clutched the note so protectively made my heart flutter!” James finished his rambling, looking around his dorm in disbelief as his friends snickered affectionately.
“Good Merlin, Prongs! Every attractive bird you bump into like that at post-match parties would be subject to a dousing of charm, flirtations, and charisma by now…” Sirius quipped with a smirk, amused by the boy’s rare, flustered look hiding behind his hands.
“I mean, of course she’s a pretty one, Prongs, but what’s stopping you from wooing her like all the rest?” Silence fell on the group as James considered Sirius’ words. “Well, I don’t know, Prongs, maybe it’s because- well, you know, you’ve been…saving yourself…for h-“ Peter attempted, choosing not to finish his sentence after the entourage of warning glares met his eyes.
“James, Peter might have a point…for once…” Remus spoke after some consideration. “You obviously view her differently to all the other girls you’ve spoken to, and I know the reason you hesitate with all the rest is because you wish they were her…” Remus glanced at the raven-haired boy sitting on his bed as he said those last words, who was unaware as he moved to console James.
The young Potter was arched over, with his elbows on his knees and his face in the palms of his hands. His bed dipped under the weight of Sirius taking a seat beside him.
“Prongs, let me put it bluntly,” Sirius began, “you’ll have to either man up, chat her up and finally get the girl you deserve, or move on and bloody kiss someone else already. It’s no use pining over her if she doesn’t even know you’re pining! Now what did that second note say?”
——————— ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪ ———————
“‘You look so pretty today, I really like how you did your hair! And thank you for all your explanations in the class discussion, it really helped me stay on top of my grades with a beautiful thing like you sitting near me.’ He drew a little winking face next to that, ‘Forever yours.” Charlie and Hope burst into a fit of giggles after you recited the most recent note.
“He’s obsessed with you! This is so cute!” Charlie squealed, holding your shoulders and shaking you slightly for emphasis. “You know what this means, right? He must be in your potions class!” Hope stated with a smirk, leaning across from her seat on the floor to pick up your list of potential suitors.
“Let’s see, that leaves us with about…five options!” She exclaimed. Your bewildered expression contrasted her excitement, crawling over to her position on the dorm room floor. One, two, three, four…five. You counted the Gryffindor boys in your potions class as your eyes widened.
One name stuck out to you in particular: James Potter. As if sharing the same thought, Charlie brightened as she spotted the same name on the paper. “Potter is in that class! Oh my, my…you are quite the catch aren’t you, love?” She teased, inching closer to your warming face. “Ooh! You’re blushing! Are you sure you really got over him all those years ago, hmm?” Hope joined Charlie in closing the distance between all three of you as your cheeks gave you away.
“Of course I’m over him! That was in fourth year…well, maybe…ugh, it doesn’t matter! It’s probably not him anyway, I mean, I can’t imagine him finding the time to do any of this with his adoring fan club constantly surrounding him…” you muttered.
“But it could really be him! I mean, you were saying he gets all nervous and awkward around you, there’s a chance that could mean-“ You stopped Charlie’s rabbit hole of conspiracy, choosing not to dwell on the matter longer.
“There are four others on this list, it’s best if we cover all our bases.” Hope reasoned, joining you in rationality and convincing Charlie to do the same. “Let’s keep an eye out for any of these distinguished gentlemen paying extra attention to our darling friend.”
——————— ⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪ ———————
The quiet night caused the atmosphere of the Gryffindor house to soften under the soft glow of the crescent moon. Remus couldn’t sleep. It was almost too peaceful, and he didn’t like it.
Sitting up in his bed, he glanced over the figures of his friends, their chests softly rising with each breath they took. Slinking into the cloak of darkness by the door, he slowly opened the door and forged a path to the common room.
There, sat under the light of a lamp, was a flowing cascade of your hair over the back of the couch. You were hunched over paper, concentrating on your History of Magic homework.
“Hey, can I join you?” Remus attempted not to startle you as he rounded the corner, joining you on the coach after you noticed his presence and nodded in confirmation.
Remus was always the more mature member of the Marauders, more focused on his studies than pranking innocent students.
“So, listen,” He began after a beat, “You’re working on History of Magic, right? I’ve noticed you’re really excelling in that class and, not to brag, but I’m quite good at it too.” You met his gaze. “I know, I’ve seen your writing. You clearly work hard.” You replied, instilling that Gryffindor courage in every word that would have normally been absent during interactions such as this, often causing you to dismiss the compliment with a shy smile.
Remus allowed himself a small grin at your unfamiliar nonchalance, continuing his proposition. “Oh, thank you! Well, I was wondering if you wanted to team up. I could be your study partner, and we could top the class together! I’ll teach you anything you’re not sure about, and I’d ask for the same in return.” You turned his proposal over in your mind, causing a small moment of silence between you two.
“There are some years I’m not so familiar with, and I certainly could do with the clarification. So sure, Remus, I’ll be your study partner!” You smiled warmly, comfortable in the newfound knowledge that the boy wasn’t a possible face behind your recently received love confessions. You found his proposition to be a friendly gesture, and far more genuine than any action you’d expect from a Marauder.
“Great!” He cheered, “We can start tomorrow. I often sit with my friends in the library, if you’re willing to join…” Remus trailed off, hoping you’d sit with his lovestruck friend for a few hours in the name of good grades.
“I’ll be there, Remus, thank you for the offer.” The words escaped your mouth before you had a chance to consider them, but Remus was already delighted by your acceptance. “I’ll see you tomorrow then, love, goodnight.”
He flashed a soft smile your way as he stood to return to his bed, leaving you bathing in the light of the lamp with an optimistic fluttering in your stomach.
You decided to leave it be, along with the hope that the boy with the rounded glasses would be there to get all flustered over you again, nagging that sweet, romantic side of your brain.

🤸🏼‍♂️ CONFESSION
synopsis. james gets jealous when you tell him a story about your first kiss.
notes. james potter x reader. (former) remus lupin x reader. mentions of underage alcohol consumption
Tumblr media
“wait, y/n. you’ve never told us who were your first kiss?” dorcas frowned, earning you a frew curious glances from people present in the room, james included. “drink up and speak the truth.” sirius words were accompanied by a chuckle as he handed you the small bottle.
“we have to specify the question though.” marlene added, throwing an arm around her girlfriend’s shoulder. “first kiss as in a full makeout session, right?” the girls nodded in agreement, watching carefully as you took a sip of veritaserum. “tell us the story, ravenclaw.”
you could feel james staring at you, his curiosity intensifying each second, when you gave yourself some time to think of an answer. catching you crack a soft smile, sent him a painful jolt. things got only worse when you finally replied.
“a story?” you chuckled. “m’kay, it happened at the end of year four when you were involved in throwing a party, remember? well, remus bumped into me, spilling all his drink on my shirt and refused to let me go until i agreed on getting one of his. we went upstairs and it happened.” you shrugged as if it was nothing, but you smiled beforehand so it definitely meant something, didn’t it?
“MOONY?” sirius shouted in surprise, shifting his gaze to the mentioned boy, his mimic changing almost immediately. “wait it was you? no wonder why there were so much tension between you the next year.” his slurred words made the werewolf blush lightly, but he laughed it off quickly.
“well, there’s a story behind it too.”
“y/n, sweetheart, care to elaborate?” dorcas smiled at you sweetly, mischief flickering in her eyes, revealing her investment in the secret story behind your relations with remus.
“we were dating.” you confessed your little secret, probably too drunk to feel how your boyfriend tensed up upon hearing your words. “not long though, till late january, then we were just hooking up once in a while.”
“you were dating ravenclaw, and you didn’t tell any of us?” mckinnon looked at the blonde boy with a faked upset, shaking her head in disappointment. “i mean… to defend remus, he actually told me.” lily sent him a smile, averting her eyes to james for a millisecond only to catch him looking all unfazed.
“we wanted to keep it on the low in case it didn’t work out.” remus shrugged, taking a sip of his beer, involuntarily noticing how potter dropped his arm from your shoulder. “then she dropped me for james.”
“potter one, lupin zero?” peter chimed in, snaping the beverage from his friend’s hand, taking a turn in drinking. “geez ravenclaw, you really went for your ex’s best friend.”
“you act like you weren’t the one who decided to stop, ‘cos you wanted to make a move on sirus.” you wiggled your eyebrows, arms crossed at chest. “not that i don’t wanted to, you were just quicker.”
the conversation died down quickly after you were forced to spill all the secrets about your past relationship, someone quickly changed the topic to something more interesting that you weren’t a part of. at first, you didn’t even notice the change in james’ behavior, but then when you were falling asleep next to him, and he turned his back on you, you realized somethung was bothering him.
james avoided you almost all week, always finding excuses to bail on your suggestions to hangout or canceling them last second, having you wonder what was going on. he even skipped some of the classes you’ve had with him, while sirius was trying his hardest to convince you that nothing was wrong.
to be honest, you were stressing out, vivid images of your break-up flashed through your mind every time that your mind wasn’t occupied. so, after lots of consideration, you decided to bury yourself in studying for newts, while waiting for the boy to come and talk to you.
“merlin, prongs. what’s wrong with you and ravenclaw, have you fought or something? you’re sulking and she doesn’t even come here nowadays.” sirius rambled, taking a seat next to james on his bed, and frown when the boy doesn’t reply. “mate, i’m for real worried, so is your girlfriend. talk to me.”
“i just… can’t stop imagining her and moony together. whenever i look at her, the image of him is somewhere in the back of my mind. it bothers me so much, i can’t think straight.” he sighed. “i can’t stop thinking about the what if’s. i can see her breaking up with me to get back with remus.”
mentioned boy just walked out of the bathroom quietly, taking in the entirety of the conversation and let out a laugh, catching his friends’ attention almost immediately. “she indeed may break up with you, not for me though, but because you keep avoiding her like fire.” lupin plopped onto his bed.
“listen, you’d do the same–” james’ words were cut off.
“sirius didn’t, and he’s in the same position as you are.” he shrugged. “my point is, she wouldn’t break up with you to get back with me, because she loves you so much ever since you started hanging out, she told me she loves you after your second date, she always wakes up at four to watch your quidditch’s practice and you think she would choose me over you? buy yourself new glasses.”
“and, the reason we broke up was that we realized we were just horny teenagers that could fulfill each other’s needs, that we weren’t in love.” remus scoffed, ruffling his hair. “and you know what? i decided to stop hooking up with her, because i wanted her to finally make a move on you, merlin, prongs all she ever talked about, since your first tutoring, was you.”
when james stood up so suddenly, lupin knew he succeeded on knocking some sense into the seeker’s mind. “she’s at the library.” werewolf murmured as the seeker was on his way to leave the dorm.
you were burying yourself in tons of books, trying to get in as many informations as possible, occupying your brain with anything that wasn’t james potter. speaking of the devil, you didn’t even realize when he sat beside you with a scowl on his face.
“love,” you jumped at the sound of his words, eyebrows knitted together. “can we… talk?” james spoke, embarrassment ringing in his tone as he couldn’t bring his eyes to look into yours. he would be a fool if he expected you to fall into his arms, apologizing for nit telling him earlier — all in the most dramatic manner you could only pull out.
when you didn’t reply nor move, his shoulder sulked, eyebrows knitted together as he still waited for an answer. it took him more than five minutes to realize you weren’t going to continue the conversation, making him the one to talk. “i get that your upset, i do, you have every right to be upset with me and my behavior towards you. i was jealous, i’d never known you were together and it got to my head and i couldn’t think straight. i’m sorry, really.”
“james.” a sigh escaped from between your lips as you finally looked at him. “it was something completely different with remus, i thought i liked him, but with you — i’m certain i love you.” a smile lit up his face upoin hearing your words — it was the first time you were the one dropping the L bomb, not him.
“so… are we fine?”
“we are, if you won’t pull out something like that again.”

Can't stop thinking about how Wyll and Astarion's physiology was forcibly and irrevocably altered by their abusers into something nominally monstrous, how they both ask the player to be their mirror when they're unable or unwilling to look at themselves. How they desperately want to be what you see in them. Walk with me.
"They say that anyone who bathes in the River of Blood emerges as one born anew. [Being a devil] is a lot like that, I imagine. I feel the weight of these horns on my head, curling upwards like a mammoth's tusks. I feel these ridges snaking down my neck, not to mention a few bumps and prongs in unmentionable places. But I haven't seen my reflection just yet."
"Be my mirror. What do you see?"
"I've never even seen this face. Not since it grew fangs and my eyes turned red. I don't know [what color they were before]. I can't remember. My face is just some dark shape in my past. Another thing I've lost."
"And what do you see, exactly?"
How they want their bodies to feel like their own again. As far as monstrous magical transformations go, Wyll deals with the fallout of his over the course of the game; Astarion dealt with his in the past (undead) and fears it happening again (illithid).
[Wyll burns in the fires of Avernus. The lightning storms of Dis strike his flesh. His soul passes through each layer of the Hells - gaining their essence, and their torment.]
"Just look at me! I did what was right and Mizora made me pay for it."
"In truth, I don't feel in a festive mood, and I didn't want to cast a grey cloud over the night. I'm a devil. I love the people from the grove but I unsettle them deep down, as I seem to unsettle everyone nowadays. You don't want a devil at your party. Claws will pop the balloons, you see. And the sweetcakes don't taste half as good as raw eggs with this blasted forked tongue."
"I'll have to take your word for it [the horns have character]. I've been avoiding my own reflection."
"A man looks in, a devil looks out. I might never get used to it."
"And to think how much time I've spent wishing I could rip them off. (...) Shit. I'm being insensitive. Sorry. They just take some getting used to."
"Hm. I'm still me, I guess. Sort of."
And we have Astarion, who's been there. Who knows.
"I remember how it hurt, when I turned into a vampire. My body writhed and warped while I was utterly helpless. The grip of death owned my heart as it beat its last. I - I don't want to turn into anything else. I can't do that again. I can't watch my body be taken over."
"Just don't ask me to sacrifice my body. It hasn't been mine for very long."

here’s a little imagine for your friday evening :)
y/n potter, james’ twin sister, who plays keeper for the gryffindor quidditch team, with james as the chaser and team captain.
remus, who watches from the stands and cheers the loudest every time his mates score or make a save.
he smiles to himself and looks away every time she catches him watching her. it always went unspoken, on both of their parts.
after a particularly successful game against slytherin, the team hosts an after party in gryffindor tower. soon enough, the common room got much too loud and you couldn’t move without bumping shoulders with someone.
this wasn’t remus’ scene. it wasn’t y/n’s either, but her brother kept insisting that she had to celebrate their win, so she had to stick around longer than she hoped.
remus retreated to his room as soon as he deemed it appropriate to make an irish exit. he thought it’d go unnoticed, but it didn’t.
when james’ attention was pulled away by a certain redhead, y/n refilled her cup of firewhiskey and then looked around the room to search for her friends. sirius was in the corner with some girl, she couldn’t tell who. peter was sitting on the couch chatting with mary. her eyes panned the rest of the room, but remus was nowhere to be found.
checking once more to make sure her brother was distracted, she turned and went up the stairs to the dorms in search of her friend. when she reached the top, she saw the door to her brother’s dorm open (which he shared with the rest of them) and found remus sitting on the window sill, reading with the window open in the light of the moon. the full moon had long past, merely waxing now.
“hey,” she says softly, leaning against the doorframe. his head shoots up out of instinct, but his expression soon softens as he sees who’s there. “i’m not interrupting, am i?”
“no, not at all,” he answers, closing his book and leaving it on his lap. “i was just getting away from the chaos.”
“me too,” she says, walking over to sit across form him on the sill, bringing her knees to her chest to mirror him.
“what, not in the celebrating mood?” he asks with a soft chuckle, looking out the window. she shakes her head.
“not really. james was determined to keep me down there, called me a buzzkill,” she replies, laughing softly at the idea. “it isn’t that i don’t want to celebrate, i just think his parties are always a tad too rowdy.”
“well, that’s prongs for you. life of the party,” he says with a smile. “not sure how he and padfoot do it.”
“i know,” she says. “we’re quite different, james and i.”
“i know you are,” he answers softly.
“he doesn’t,” she mutters. “he always tries to get me to go along with him, but he doesn’t understand that we don’t always like the same things… sorry, i’m rambling, i’m sure you don’t want to hear about all this.”
“don’t be sorry. i like to listen,” he says, looking over at her. “you can always talk to me, i understand.”
“i know. you always get me, moony,” she says, smiling back at him. “what’re you reading?”
as remus starts to talk about his book of the week, she rests her head on her knees, looking over at him with a soft smile. his voice was soothing and sweet, and her eyes soon start to flutter shut.
his gaze softens as he notices her start to drift off. he doesn’t mind, though. the thought of someone feeling safe enough around him to fall asleep made his heart swell. especially someone who knew what he was, and accepted him. she wasn’t afraid of him, for whatever reason he still didn’t understand.
when he’s sure that she’s fallen asleep, he gets up off the window sill and slides an arm under her legs, the other holding her back as he picks her up and places her on his bed. it’s far too late now to bring her down the stairs and up to her own room.
he sits on the floor beside the bed, brushing a stray hair out of her face and behind her ear, then smoothing his thumb over her forehead. he lays his head on the edge of the bed and shuts his eyes, drifting off to sleep himself as his best friend and the girl he loves breathes slowly next to him. he’d sleep on the floor every night if it meant he could be near her, just like this.
* i hope people like this :) i’m nervous about it. but it makes me happy so, enjoy ! let me know if anyone wants more like this *

it's so insane that wyll talks about getting bumps and prongs on his dick post-devil transformation and yet this is never brought up ever again in his romance. when i first heard him say that on my initial playthrough i was like "oh i'm sure that will be part of his sex scene since they brought it up" but no!! never mentioned again! literally chekhov's pronged cock

"Remus!"
"What? What's wrong? Are you okay? Is it the baby?" Remus asked, still half asleep as he sat up and his hands went directly to your bump.
"No, Remmy! I can't sleep!" you said, as Remus turned on his nightlamp.
"What's wrong? Are you hungry? Do you have a weird craving again?"
"For the last time, ice cream and french fries are not a weird craving!" you glared at him.
"Sweetheart, I love you, but even Prongs said it was weird and that's as low as it goes" he chuckled, rubbing his tired eyes. "Why can't you sleep?"
"Remus, do you realize that my due date is one month from today?" you said, getting closer to him. "ONE MONTH!"
"Yes, I know, love-"
"That is thirty days!"
"Well, actually a bit less because it's February, and-"
"Remus! We are not ready! We do not have any of the big things we need!"
"What big things? Did you have lunch with Lilly and Alice today?"
"We do not have a changing table, we do not have a crib or a chair where the baby can eat, we haven't even picked out a name-!"
"Alright, alright, love, slow down" Remus said, pulling you closer to him and kissing the side of your head and he noticed you were crying. "Love, there’s nothing to worry about. We have plenty of time" he assured you.
"Rem, what if I am awful at this?" you asked, looking up at him and Remus wiped away your tears.
"Sweetheart" he said, kissing your forehead. "Why would you say that? You're going to be a great mother" he insisted.
"I don't know! I feel like Lily and Alice were prepared for Harry and Neville. They've been prepared their whole lives! I even remember them in school talking about how many kids they were going to have and all of that and- I don't know, Rem, what if I'm not?"
"Love, don't say that. You're just a bit nervous, I get that" he said, stroking your arms up and down. "I'm nervous too, but we're going to be great at this, you know why?"
"W-why?"
"Because we're a team" he smiled sweetly at you.
"And we are the best team" you smiled between tears.
"Yes we are" he said, giving you a peck on the lips. "Look we both are off tomorrow. So we can go the baby store that's around the corner and we will get you everything that you need. Okay?"
"Okay" you nodded before pulling him back to you. "Thank you" you said as he kissed the top of your head.
"You want to have a cup of tea?" he asked, stroking your back.
"You're not tired?" you asked, feeling guilty for waking him up.
"No" he assured you. "We can brainstorm names for the baby" he suggested.
"Really?" you asked excitedly and he nodded, smiling.
"C'mon" he said helping you out of bed and the two of you walked over to the kitchen. "I'll make the tea, you get the mugs?" he said, kissing your temple.
"Okay" you said, walking over to the counter where you kept the mugs.
Only one problem, they were on the top shelf. You would usually hop on the counter to get them but Remus would always say you would fall down and hurt yourself, so you stopped doing that after you got pregnant. And you had no idea where the little stepstool he bought for you was.
"Um... R-Rem?" you called after he put the water on.
"Yes, dove?"
"I can't reach them" you said shyly.
"Oh, let me" he said, making his way towards you and he easily grabbed both yours and his mugs, placing them on the counter and tears ran down your face again. "What's wrong now, love?" he asked worriedly, placing both your and his mug on the counter.
"You're... you're... you're taller than me!" you cried, as Remus frowned his eyebrows a little.
"And you just realized it?" he chuckled. "Sweetheart, the first time I talked to you, it was because you couldn't reach a Potions book in the Library" he reminded you, as he wiped away your tears.
"No, I know, but... what if the baby needs something and I can't reach it when you're not here?" you cried as he hugged you closer to him, kissing your head.
"We can put everything the baby needs in your reach, okay?" he said, feeling you nod against his chest.
"Thank you" you said, looking up at him and giving him another kiss.
"What for?"
"For dealing with all of my craziness" you said, making him chuckle and he kissed your cheek.
"Is not craziness, love. You're just worried about our baby, see? You're going to be a great mum" he assured you as he went to make the tea for yourselves and you sat down.
"You're just saying that because you're on my team" you said as he sat next to you.
"And because it's the truth" he insisted. "So, what names have you thought about?"
"Well, Remus, I have actually wanted to tell you that... it will mean a lot to me... if we name our kid... Sirius James Lupin" you said, making Remus choke on his tea and spitting it out.
"Please tell me you're joking" he said, recovering his breath as you burst out laughing.
"Yes, I am, James and Sirius paid me ten galleons to say that" you laughed as Remus glared at you. "You should have seen the look on your face!"
"I hate you!"
"You love me" you smirked. "They actually provided a list of names" you said, putting out a note block they gave you.
"Do they know is not their baby? James already has one, why is he giving his opinion?"
"How do you feel about the name Blaze Lupin?"
"Not great."
"What about Laser?"
"No."
"Viper?"
"No."
"Atlas?"
"Oh" Remus said, thinking about it. "I do love atlases" he said.
"Mm, common ground" you smiled.
"Wait, who suggested it?"
"What difference does it make?"
"Love-"
"Sirius" you admitted.
"Then no."

One bed? ~ S.O.B
{in which you and Sirius share a room in James’s house.}
It was the summer break, and you’d decided to stay at James’s house with Sirius and Remus. However, after graciously greeting fleamont and euphemia, (who ADORED you might I add), you followed James upstairs. He showed you his room first. “Right, so this is my room. Rem, you’ve got the one beside it, aaaand… you two can go in that one!” He grinned, gesturing to you and Sirius. Upon peaking inside, you interrupted his and Sirius’s conversation. “Hey- prongs? There’s just one bed in here.” James locked eyes with Remus, as if they knew something you didn’t. “Yeah, uh… goodnight, guys!” Remus said, before both boys retreated into their assigned rooms. You turned to Sirius. “I’ve always wanted to sleep with you.” Sirius teased, raising an eyebrow playfully. You roll your eyes.
He was the first to flop onto the bed, landing in a jokingly suggestive pose that made you laugh at him. Sirius black was, naturally, a flirt. He began rolling around in the sheets like a madman. “Alright, padfoot, no need to mark your scent on it, now.” You say, smiling at his antics. He scoffs. “You’re next if you’re not careful, pup.” You stop unpacking. “Sorry, pup? That’s you, dickhead.” “Yeah, whatever. Also, you’re letting me play Bowie. I don’t care. I saw that record player first, so you can fuck right off.” Sirius jumps off of the bed and flicks through the ones that lay beside the vinyl player, hissing a drawn-out “yes” when he finds ‘the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars’ by David Bowie.
A few hours later, with both Remus and James asleep in their rooms, you had started to worry about your sleeping situation. You and Sirius had danced together to the full album twice now, and once it ended, you both fell back onto the bed. He looked at you, and you looked at him. His black locks spilled out like a halo beside him, you couldn’t help the blush creeping up on you. What am I doing? This is my best friend. You scold yourself. “So, who’s taking the bed?” You ask him. “Huh? Well, m’lady, I’m not letting you sleep on the FLOOR. C’mon, mate, youre my best friend, it’d basically be like sleeping in the same bed as James.” He reasons. You bite your lip. It really wouldn’t feel like sleeping in the same bed as James to me. But it didn’t take much convincing for you to lay beside him.
The lights were off now, but you soon noticed how cold it was in the room, you basically forced Sirius to check if the window was shut, but it seemed to be broken, constantly stuck slightly ajar. You huff in frustration, brows furrowing and shoulders quivering. Noticeably, Sirius’s pretty eyes flood with concern. “Oh, my star.” He says. You’re used to him calling you that, but in this situation, it feels different. It feels intimate. He moves to wrap more of the duvet around you, gently pulling you towards himself. “Sirius-“ “my star, it’s fine. We’re best mates. I’m allowed to warm you up.” He excused. You didn’t have it in you to argue with him, and, honestly, you’d always fantasised about him. You lay your head on his shoulder as he hugged you closer to him. He was warm, admittedly. Really warm. You let out a small moan of satisfaction.
At that sound, Sirius tensed beneath you. “Sirius? Are you okay?” You asked him, burrowing closer. “What? Yeah. Mhm.” He mumbled. His usual cocky demeanour had vanished and his usually pale face was flushed. You leant up slightly and noticed a bump in the covers. He was hard. “Sirius…” you started. “I-I’m sorry, mate, I’m really sorry.. I didn’t mean-“ you shut him up with your lips pressed against his soft ones. Frozen at first, you had to work him into it, eventually both of your lips moved in unison. He whimpered as you pulled away. “Let me help you out, Siri.”
Not taking off the covers in fear of bracing the cold, you shuffled to straddle him beneath them. Through his pyjama pants you could tell. He was big. He couldn’t contain his breathy whines as you ground down onto his hard-on. He started to whimper your name. “It’s not funny. Please, just do something.” “Wow. Never thought I’d hear THE Sirius Black beg.” You teased. His lip quivered and you rolled your hips a few more times, testing his limits. Until his long fingers gripped your hips and a deep growl left his throat.
He flipped you over, pinning you to the bed with a desperation you’d never seen in him before. “I need this. I really need you.” he whispered, his eyes dark with lust and… something more serious? Love? He pulled his pants down and pushed your panties to the side. You could feel his tip dragging up and down your opening, and you watched his eyebrows scrunch in self-control. As he eased into you, you were overcome with white-hot pleasure. “Fuck, Siri.. you feel so good… mh..” you whimpered. Through your hazy vision, you admired the way Sirius let out broken, shameless moans as his face contorted in bliss, eyes rolling back every now and then. He picked up his pace, hips rolling slightly faster.
Gripping the sheets either side of you, you bit your lip, trying not to cry out. He felt so fucking good. So good. But Sirius hit that spot. “AGH! FUCK, SIRI!” You cried, grasping his bony, tattooed shoulders. His signature smirk made an appearance. “Oh yeah? You- hah- you like that, my little star? My- nghhh.. oh, my star… mine…” his confidence faded again, turning to complete, raw, primal need. He sped up, his mushroom tip prodding deliciously into your sensitive spot with each thrust. You could hear the sinful wet sounds of where you were connected and the quick, loud snapping of his hips against yours as he lowered his head into the crook of your neck, shamelessly moaning your name and the word “mine” over and over. “Sirius! Oh, Sirius, yes! I’ve got you, I’ve got you, baby!” You hugged his back as Your mouth formed an ‘O’ shape. you felt the most heavenly orgasm you’ve ever had overtake you. During the euphoria, you grabbed a handful of his sweaty black curls as he fucked you, tugging on them hard. At that, Sirius let out the dirtiest, most pornographic groan you’d ever heard, and you felt his hot seed explode into you. His thrusts slowly ceased as he pulled out And collapsed onto you. He was breathing heavy into your neck and your first thought was to stroke his hair and back, praising him.
“That was so fucking great, Sirius. You were so good.” You told him, whispering in his ear and petting him lovingly. Very unlike a best friend would. But, really, what could you two say about what best friends did? You felt him smiling into your collarbone. He murmured your name. “Yes?” “I think I’m in love with you.” He mumbled. You let your expression fade into a satisfied smile. “I’m in love with you, too, Sirius Black.” You said, leaning your cheek on his mop of sweat-ridden coal-black hair. “But we have to get cleaned up.” He groaned in reluctance.
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.”
You couldn’t help but laugh softly at his stupid joke. “Will that ever get old to you?” You asked. “Nope.” He replied.
James now owed Remus 10 galleons.

“Whisky!” James shouted, barreling into the room with Sirius a close foot behind. You rolled your eyes at the nickname, looking up from the book that had been occupying you for the past half hour. Ever since the boys had discovered your animagus was a cat, your brother James had deemed you the nickname Whiskers. Ironic that Fire Whisky had also been your favorite and dearly missed drink since the start of your pregnancy.
“Can I help you bozos?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at the two boys who had wide smiles adorning their faces.
“Who has better hair, me or Padfoot.” James asked, causing you to roll your eyes.
“I’m not doing this you guys.” You replied quickly, shifting in your spot as the boys appeared from behind the couch.
“Come on just tell us.” James asked, stomping his foot slightly like a child.
“I said I’m not doing this, where’s Moony he needs to help me up.” You grumbled, still trying to get up from your spot and failing.
“He’s out.” Sirius said, a smirk on his face as you groaned, rolling your eyes.
“And you can’t get up and walk away without our help so, answer the question.” James teased, making you groan even louder, throwing your head back with frustration.
“I hate you both.” You hissed, making James hold his Chet with fake hurt as Sirius smirked.
“We love you too. But that wasn’t the question.” Sirius said, causing you to hold your hands out with anger,
“Please just help me up.” You mumbled, struggling to stand with your large bump in the way.
“No.”
“Oh come on.” You whined, flailing around slightly with frustration.
“Not until you answer us.”
“I am not answering you, this is ridiculous!” You shouted, letting your head fall back angrily, as the door gently swung open, catching everyone’s attention. Your face couldn’t help but light up with a smile when your boyfriend, Remus, appeared at the doorway, his hands full of bags from Hogsmead.
“Okay, I’ve brought you the new chocolates from Hogsmeade. Not only are they delicious but Honeydukes swears by it’s healing power.” He explained, walking over to hand you a box.
“Remus, thank god, come help me up.” You said eagerly, before Remus shook his head.
“Nope.” He said quickly, sitting beside you. You stared at him for a moment in shock.
“What?” “Ha!”
You and the boys yelled in unison, causing Remus to sigh.
“Sorry love, but you’re on bed rest. Can’t risk hurting you or our little moon.” Remus explained, rubbing your bump gently with a kind smile on his face. You couldn’t even be mad at the sweetness of it.
“This is a travesty.” You sighed, burying your face in his shoulder.
“Perfect, now you can’t move, and you need to answer our question.” Sirius teased, causing Remus to perk up slightly with interest.
“What’s the question?” He asked, making James smile proudly.
“Which one of us has the better hair, me or Padfoot?” He asked.
Remus turned to face you, a nervous look on his face as you raised an eyebrow at him.
“Alright come on, to the common room we go.” Remus said, helping you get up as you cheered to yourself.
“Hey!”
“She just didn’t wanna hurt your feelings cause you’re her best friend.” James said angrily, shaking his head as Sirius shoved him.
“You’re her brother! She’d wanna protect your feelings more!” He argued, before you appeared quickly in the doorway.
“For the record, the answer was Padfoot.” You said quickly, before gesturing to Remus to hurry up and help you out the room.
“Hey!” James shouted, about to come run after you before he noticed you had taken his invisibility cloak from his desk.
“Yes!” Sirius cheered, looking at himself in your mirror proudly, shaping his face, and his ego.

WAITTT poly!marauders doing stuff for y/n bc her nails get in the way (picking up cards, coins, tieng her shoes, ect) but w fluff at the end of them living head/back scratches w the nails 😝😝😝
The second the three hear your coin purse thump to the ground, as well as the telltale sound of metal clattering onto the wood floor, they're on you like vultures.
"Got it," Remus grumbles, but Sirius and James pay no mind to the man as they dive to their knees too, fingers scrambling to pry coins off of the floor by your feet.
"Here!" Sirius shoves a hand towards you, palm sweaty as three quarters practically stick to his skin, "75 cents, pet."
"Thanks, Siri," You hum, taking them from him and stuffing them back into the purse, "And- oh! Thank you, James."
"Mhm!" The man grins cheerily at you, cheeks flushed from how fast he'd crouched to the floor. He stuffs a handful of coins into your purse, already swooping towards one that Remus is after.
"Hey!" Remus huffs, struggling to his feet while James and Sirius pick over the last few coins like men starved, "They took mine."
"it's okay, Remus," You croon, gratefully accepting the few coins he pushes into your palm, "I'll play with your hair extra when they're asleep."
"Hey!" Sirius clamors to his feet next, mouth agape and eyes aghast, "No fair! I helped more than him."
"Cheaters never prosper," You hum, taking your coins and stuffing them back into the bag. You hand the pouch over to James who's hunting for a stray penny beneath the couch, and you ruffle your nails through the curls billowing from his scalp. A shiver runs down his spine and you laugh breathlessly, taking Remus's hand with your free one.
"But I still get some head scratches?" Sirius verifies, looking for all the world like he might riot if your answer is no.
But you nod, leaning in to kiss the corner of his pouted lips, "Yes, Siri, you still get some head scratches."
"Just not as much as me," Remus boasts, sticking his tongue out at Sirius, "Maybe you can get Prongs to do it, he bites 'em enough to make 'em almost as sharp."
James bumps his head on the underside of the couch in an attempt to protest the accusations against him, and you pet over the sore spot as he glares up at Remus, "Not true!"
"Yes it is," You gasp, peering intently at James's fingers and noticing jagged edges on the thin edges of his nails, "James Fleamont Potter, no scratches at all until you stop biting your nails!"
"No fair! I'm sorry," James pleads, brandishing the slightly dusty penny towards you as a peace offering, "Please, love, I'll stop, I promise."
"I'm filing them down," You decide, "Or- someone is. And if you bite them again then no more back scratches."
"Understood," James nods vigorously, and Sirius grabs his hand to head to the bathroom.
"Come on," Sirius drags James away, and you're left hand-in-hand with Remus, "Let's tame those talons, Prongs."
