adobe may be a greedy bitch baby company who doesnt actually let you buy their software outright but damn,,, photoshop Nice,,, hehehehe,,, i can do so Much with it it’s such a multitool of a program,,, i just upgraded to the 2020 version in february and there’s SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many more brushes than there were in the 2014 version, and most of them are actually really useful!! i’m living for this guy’s brushes, uh, kyle?? yeah, kyle t. webster. now THAT guy knows how to make some brushes. i’ve been using the same ones for like six years but he’s got this GORGEOUS lineart brush i’ve been using and dear god i love it too much to ever go back. I Will Never Go Back. AND I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT LIKE, BLEND BRUSHES?? there are ones that perfectly emulate real pencils thanks to how photoshop handles brushes, it even wears out and widens with use (you can choose how fast...) and you can TILT your STYLUS to USE THE BROADER SIDE OF THE “LEAD”??? LIKE?? A REAL PENCIL???? still blows my mind,, photoshop’s brush engine is fucking amazing,,

Thoughts on keeping a sketchbook?

sketchbooks are great and i envy people who have those really nice, blank-page sketchbooks with the little rounded corners on each page? and they always fill them with studies and life drawings,,, its so Aesthetic,,,

meanwhile im adamant for some damn reason to do most of my drawings on lined paper still. not the serious ones, but if im doodling, or just doing a sketch i intend to finish in photoshop? composition notebook. i have Dozens of Actual sketchbooks, but those are so nice... i don’t want to fill them with stupid meme drawings and things i wont finish and things i draw Badly and things that i Will finish but not There. i’m glad im not going to college cuz i always hear “oh you have to submit your sketchbooks” im like haha What cuz my sketchbooks,,,, are probably some of the most unprofessional, badly organized, unfinished messes out there,,, like i do studies but it’s all on lined notebook paper and half-destroyed composition notebooks because at the end of 8th grade everyone was throwing out their unused or slightly used school supplies and there was a WHOLE RECYCLING BIN FULL OF COMPOSITION NOTEBOOKS?? MOST OF WHICH ONLY HAD THE FIRST LIKE 15 PAGES FILLED OUT IF THAT???? SO I JUST KINDA. RAIDED IT?? i havent bought lined paper in 8 years and all the school supplies i looted out of the garbage that day carried me all the way through high school. i bought maybe one notebook in highschool, that was it. i think i literally trash picked a lifetime of lined paper,,,

,,, anyway i have a Nice Sketchbook (no lined paper!) ive been toting around since sophomore year of high school. it’s still got printouts taped to it from supernatural and doctor who and black rock shooter. this was seven years ago, i still use it when i want to use Nice Paper, and only now am i approaching the last pages. i also have a separate sketchbook i decided to start using for concept art and sketches for my webcomic i will never actually start working on! that one’s about as professional as i get, it’s full of robot designs and sketches of scenes. its fun.

Thoughts on any pets you have?

i love me pets! they are not my pets they are my parents pets but i take care of them more so who cares. i love them. i love all three doggos even if Gigi is an old lazy fart that doesn’t care about anything that isn’t sleeping, food, going outside, or bellyrubs. she doesn’t even listen to you if you call her or tell her to do something. i dont know what her deal is. and gemma!! is a depressed muppet. she’s probably just getting old herself even though she’s only,,, seven. we got a third dog and she never got over it. she is still my favorite though, she’s adorable and i love her little under bite and her big goofy eyes that don’t have a single thought or braincell behind them. she floofy and snuggley and a big ol scardey cat who always comes into my room for hours when there’s a Loud Sound outside which is great because i cant sleep when something else is alive in my room and its not me but whatever i cant say no to her, especially now that we’re both on the same floor and i would probably take a bullet for this funky lil fuzzball.

anyways it moreso would kinda start after falco leaves post fbf, I stg wolf gave falco that jacket but falco would stick around with star wolf for a bit while figuring a lot out and they’d have a little bit of a fling with some good old hand holding and kissing, and it’s not like either of them blatantly go “hey we’re dating” it just kind of happened as time went on and they both accepted it and then… fox needed help and wolf is actually the one who tells falco it’s okay to go (falco wants to go) and they have a mutual break up and go into assault they kinda just pretend it didn’t happen (perhaps even a bit of anger between them as they think about what happened and are confused)

but once they get past that and both find themselves confiding in fox while they all dick around on solar and they’re both just like “well shit” and try not to be obvious their feelings have extended to fox but fox is very much aware and is just :) the whole time aoihewindf and he is very much brushing his hand against their’s on purpose 100% and after they defeat the anglar invasion they all actually talk abt it and fox and falco are like YES WE CAN MAKE THIS WORK and wolf agrees but is asoinadn more reserved abt bc emotions hard

and then it all just gets soft’d and good from there… I’ve already posted a bunch abt it being hard to kiss falco’s beak and ik on twitter you said bird nips are valid kisses and you’re so right like… he just kinda nibbles their faces. falco also enjoys making wolf as flustered as possible… he’ll nip wolf’s ear and make wolf fucking choke on whatever he’s drinking and then falco will just yEET and pull wolf down with him and he’ll also do the same to fox bc shit’s funny

fox is very openly affectionate and is the one who discovers wolf loves getting scratched behind the ear and uses that to his full advantage (give wolf that serotonin…) and gets wolf and falco to play guitar hero with him (fox currently has the highest score on expert mode for through the fire and the flames)

when wolf’s mechanical eyepatch/lens thing short circuits or craps out fox and falco are immediately there to help him take it off and get it fixed while making sure wolf is okay (his phantom eye pains also mean a lot of head massages)

fox being the shortest of the three (not by much but still) means wolf and falco resting their heads on top of fox’s and fox kinda just pouts but accepts it and then later gets them back by making them give him a piggy back ride and resting his head on top of whoever is carrying him.

Arya had fallen asleep only an hour ago, but Gendry felt like he had laid there for forever. He didn’t want to leave her while she slept, but first light would come soon, and Gendry could not be caught in the Princess’s bed. Her leg lays across his stomach, and every time she moves, the smooth inside of her thigh slides across his hip. Her body bare except for the thin linen that drapes across their hips. Her head is on his arm, but most of her body rests on his side, and presses her breasts against his ribs. She shifts again, and her leg ventures lower.

Her body had small scars all over, but the insides of her thighs were soft. The outsides were just as scarred as the rest of her body. He mindlessly rubbed his hand on her back, and felt some of her scars from the House of Black and White. Her arms had healed cuts from various things, but he loved the mark on her face the most. She had fallen out of a tree as a child, and split her lip open, leaving a faint scar that led up to her nostril. He tries not to despise the scars that mark her stomach, but it’s hard. She says they’re ugly, and he knows she’s self-conscious of them every time she removes her clothes for him, so he’s sure to hide the fury he feels when he sees them. They could have killed her. They almost did. Unlike the scars that littered her body to teach her lessons for losing her balance while climbing a tree or not paying close enough attention to the end of a blade while fighting. But the scars on her belly only showed that she had failed to obey an order to kill someone underserving of death. She murmurs something to Gendry and he doesn’t know if she’s waking or sleep talking. She slides her leg across his stomach, resting it just below his belly button. Her hair, which she still keeps short (albeit neatly cut to reach her shoulders) had tangled from the early events of this morning and fell across her face. A chunk stuck to the corner of her mouth and moves a little which each breath she withdraws. Gendry smiles softly and brushes it away from her face. She hums in response, finally stirring from her sleep. She opens her eyes and huffs a little.

“Morning, already?” She mumbles, and he smiles again at her sleepy state.

“You can sleep for a while longer, I need to get back to the forge,” he whispers, trying not to rouse her too much.

“Have you slept?” She asks, shutting her eyes again and snuggling her face against Gendry’s neck.

“No, I was going to sleep for a little while at the forge before everyone wakes up,” he says, and he knows she’s probably rolling her eyes at him under his chin. The war against the Night King had ended, but Cersei Lannister still wanted Jon and Daenerys’s heads on spikes for trying to rebel against her claim to the throne. And they needed weapons to win.

“Why don’t you just sleep here?”

“And have the King in the North and his wolf catch me? I think not, m’lady.” She groans in response to the nickname. “Oh, right, my apologies, Your Grace,” he teases and she shoves his chest.

“I’m not the princess, stupid. Sansa is.”

“Last I checked, having a brother for a King makes you a princess.”

“How many princesses do you know of that invite men into their beds,” she snaps, and he lets out a small chuckle.

“Men? I hope you don’t mean more than me,” he teases and she smiles against his throat. She hums. “Well?”

“Oops, you weren’t supposed to know about my many lovers.”

“Well now that you’ve told me they exist, I have to know who I’m fighting for your affections.”

“Let’s see,” she leans up from her spot and rests her head on her hand. “There’s Podrick... Samwell... my brother’s wife Meera...”

“Bronn?”

“Him, too,” she jests. “And Jaime Lannister.”

“I must say, Your Grace, you are quite the little scoundrel of Winterfell.”

“Someone had to be,” she gives him a smile, one that was reserved for him in private. When she trained in Braavos she learned to hide her emotions, but the only one that she couldn’t control around Gendry was love.

Gendry leans forward and gives her a chaste kiss. She tries to draw him in, but he knows he needs to leave her chamber soon. She kisses him again, and pushes her leg across his stomach down lower, but he catches her thigh with one of his hands.

“I have to go,” he says.

She wraps an arm protectively around his shoulder and moves to lay over top of him, trapping him. “No.”

“Arya, I could use one finger to push you off and leave if I really wanted to,” he says, but makes no move to leave.

“Then why haven’t you?” She asks as she sits up and leans her body from left to right to straddle him. She raises her eyebrow at him, waiting for his response.

“Because I don’t want to. I need to, though,” he says, with a huff. But as Arya moves and pants over top of him, he finds it’s hard to remember why he needs to be anywhere but with her.

Gendry wakes up later, as light glares through Arya’s window. “Shit!” He gasps, and tries to gather his small clothes. Arya sits up and looks at him, a small blush coating her cheeks.

“You’re still here?”

“We fell asleep,” he says, trying to keep his voice down, knowing sounds carry and people whisper. “I need to leave before anyone sees me in here.”

“Right,” Arya says, and hands him his discarded breeches by the edge of her bed. Gendry pulls them on, and tries to tie all of his clothes back together neatly. He finishes dressing and laces his boots up. “It doesn’t look much later than first light, if you leave know you can probably make it out of this wing so you don’t look suspicious.” He quickly nods and walks over to Arya. He plants a small kiss on her forehead and she shoves him lightly. “Go,” she prods and he smiles at her.

He makes it out into the hallway with only a small creak from the door. He gently shuts it after looking to make sure no one is roaming the corridor. He creeps towards one of the castles many exits, but before he has the chance to hide, the King and the Princess round the corner.

“Gendry?” Jon asks, with a perplexed look on his face.

“Your Grace,” Gendry responds, falling into a kneel. Jon motions for him to stand up and Sansa wears the same look on her face.

“What brought you to the Princess’s chambers this early in the morning?” Jon asks, but Gendry knows Jon already has the answer.

“The Princess’s sword needed mending, Your Grace. She asked me to take a look at it,” Gendry lies.

“At first light? Surely you had more pressing matters to attend,” The King snaps and he stomps towards Arya’s door. He pulls it open and Arya clutches the linens to her naked chest.

“Jon! Do you knock?” Arya shouts, as Gendry accepts that he’s going to die today. Sansa grimaces and Jon steps towards Gendry.

Jon grabs Gendry’s arm and starts to walk him away from Arya’s chamber. “Sword mending,” he grumbles to himself. Sansa shuts Arya’s door and rushes behind Jon and Gendry.

“Jon,” she says, but he doesn’t respond. Gendry keeps pace with Jon and can only hope that Ghost’s whereabouts are unbeknownst to Jon. “Jon!” Sansa snaps, and Jon stops to turn around to look at Sansa.

“Sansa!” Jon responds.

“Jon, you’re making a scene. You need to calm down,” she hisses, lowering her voice. Arya emerges from her chamber, dressed in breeches and a half-tied jerkin. Her hair remains tangled, and she rushes towards the group.

“Jon, please,” Arya begs, “Can we talk about this? Not here.”

Jon finally lets his iron-like grip on Gendry go, and nods. “Fine.”

Jon doesn’t give anyone time to respond as he starts walking again. Sansa and Arya follow him, and Gendry trails behind the three, praying to every God he knows.

They end up in Jon’s solar, and Gendry sits directly across from him, extremely focused on his hands. “Do you want to explain to me why you were in my little sister’s chamber this morning?” Jon asks, looking as angry as any King Gendry had heard about.

“I needed to mend her sword, Your Grace.”

Jon’s glower tells Gendry he didn’t give him the correct response. “I fell asleep, Your Grace.”

“We were being improper,” Arya grumbles, giving her brother an eye roll.

“I know that,” Jon hisses. “I wanted Gendry to tell me.”

“Why?” Arya snaps. “Are you going to castrate him?” She agitates, and Gendry silently curses her for giving Jon the idea.

“I’ve considered it!” Gendry moves his hand to protect his manhood. He would sooner set himself on fire than be castrated.

“Jon, be reasonable, please,” Sansa says, and Gendry is thankful for her for being the only calm Stark in this situation.

“Be reasonable? One of my trusted friends has been... has been...” he shakes his hands in Gendry and Arya’s direction.

“If I remember correctly, Arya and Gendry were friends for much longer than you and Gendry. Unless you were planning on selling Arya in a marriage alliance, it does not really matter what our sister does in private.”

Jon ran his hands through his curls. “If you had asked me, I would’ve allowed you to marry,” Jon announces, unexpectedly. Gendry perks up at the King’s words. “Now that you have...” Jon doesn’t finish his statement. “You should marry. I won’t force you, Arya, but if you respect me or Gendry, you will not refuse his hand and bear his bastard.”

“I’m only a bastard, Your Grace. I can’t give the child a bastard’s name.”

“You are the late King Robert’s bastard. I only need to sign a paper, and you could have a last name to give your child.”

Gendry turns to look at Arya, not wanting to respond without her approval. “What are you waiting for, stupid? Are you going to give me your name or not?” She says, with a small smile on her face. Arya always expressed her disgust of marrying as a child, but they rarely spoke of her having to marry as adults. Gendry nods and turns back to Jon.

“Don’t think that I’ll forgive you for this easily, Gendry,” Jon huffs, and reaches for a blank piece of parchment.

“King Robert had always wanted a Stark-Baratheon marriage,” Sansa muses, and gives Arya a small smile.

I want to say I find it inspiring how much art you get done and how it shows your love and dedication to your muse. I absolutely love your style but would you mind answering a few questions about your art process? Time has always been an issue for me that's why I find it inspiring you get so much done, I wanted to ask how you go about starting a drawing? Do you begin with a base, a pose or do you draw the characters directly? Any tips for quick doodles? I hope you don't mind. Thank you so much!

i will use this drawing meme in doin rn lol. for startes, sometimes i do just one sketch, other times, i make a rough sketch, then a more clear sketch because not even myself can undertand my gibberish. like, i get the idea but proportions get fucked up easily if i dont put them right up at the start. 

tbh, when it comes to lineart, it’s…. rare i put some effort in it atm. i have done many detailed and clean linearts but ive been a lazy fucker since i started to get stressed over drawing, so i just do what i feel like. checking @itsmikness art tag u can actually see how i never do the same style twice wwwwww.  anyways, rn this is a very lazy and fat lineart ( 4px with basically no pressure - 38% to 100% min size, depends on whatever i do, but tbh 38 already makes it big enough ). i dont even give two damns in closing the lines since im not base coloring www

regarding color… well, its a little more standard, like i have at least 3 or 4 ways to color: vague / plain, simple shading, very detailed shading and watercolor/copic. for all these i use the plain brush ( i have ), the painting brush and the watercolor brush. rarely i use the copic one because it takes some effort to blend and solidify ( but still fun to use wwww ) . in this case i actually do the copic brush. 

sometimes i do this line coloring depending on the drawing, but when its simple quick drawing like this, with almost to none color, i dont. I like saturating the line coloring sometimes, because its catchy ( im like a 5 years old, do it colorful or i wont pay attention wwww ) 

so yeah, that’s most to it. this is my way to quick drawing because yeah, like you i dont have much time and secondly because im a lazy piece of shit that gets bored easily if doesnt finish the drawing before the day ends wwwwwww.  regarding anatomy and tips i learned in school and how to pose and that jazz, just ask me if u wanna know more. for now, toddles.

hi! i really love your art and i was wondering if you have any tips? im a new artist and could really use the help, thank you!!

uh well i only post digital art here nowadays so the tips i can give you for that are

1) find a couple of programs you’re comfortable in. i really like working with sai, but the computers i use in school arent compatible with sai. because of that ive had to learn firealpaca. being versatile with programs is also helpful bc some have tools and functions that others dont. for example, i like doing my rendering and line art in sai, but i edit in photoshop. if ur using multiple programs to make a single piece, i always make sure they’re .psd files bc .sai isnt compatible with photoshop (im not sure .mdp files but im assuming they’re in the same boat as .sai)

2)savesave save save save save save please save as often as possible i cannot tell u how many times i’ve lost hours of work because i didnt save

3) when i render i usually do flat colors first. then i duplicate the flat color layer, make it into a clipping mask, and use one of sai’s paint brushes to do shadows and highlights. the dupe layer is usually too contrasty and messy when im done with it so i often turn down the opacity a little.

4) NEVER EVER EVER use black or white for highlights or shadows on a colored piece!!!!! try a lighter or darker color (cool or warm depending on the mood/effect u want ur art to have) instead

5)uhh idk anatomy?? is a thing??? u gotta get down??? whenever anyone asks me about getting better at drawing im always like drawfromlifedrawfromlifedrawfromlife bc it really helps???? it’s kinda tedious in the beginning, and i personally dont have a lot of fun drawing things that arent people but it helps. drawing people from observation helps too!! like take a figure drawing class or got to a museum with statues. drawing from photos is practical, but it doesnt help as much as drawing what’s physically in front of u. 

6) i also know a bit about watercolor and other wet media if ur interested in that??? but there’s too much too explain for that so message me if u really wanna know

7) i was about to say that’s a wrap but i completely forgot to talk about tablets!! make sure ur tablet has pen pressure bc line art always looks so fuckin good with varying line weights!!! also dont worry if ur first digital piece looks like crap. i use an ancient wacom bamboo tablet and getting used to it took a while.so dont worry. 

8) art takes practice. not everything is gonna look good in the beginning. in fact, nothing might look good in the beginning. but that’s ok!! some days your art will look better than it does on others!! it probably wont look like a michelangelo or a da vinci and tbh?? it doesnt have to. those guys were old and im assuming, anon, that you’re about my age (no where near as old as da vinci or mikey in the height of their careers) so dont worry about them. just keep drawing and drawing what u like and eventually u’ll find a rhythm.

ahhh you’re back thank you for replying!!!okay so yes this one (i need to self promote, i’m sorry) those are the poster doodles, but bc all of them have different effect stuff on them i can’t really explain how to make every single one of them but !!!!! the basics are the same so i’m going to show u that under the read more and i hope i can still help u!!!

okay so first things first: u’re gonna need a picture for the character/tv show/movie u want to make the thing for, i usually get them from pinterest (again, sorry for the self promotion,,,,, but i gotta)

once u’ve found the perfect (or not perfect, this is like the most stressful part rip) 4-6 pictures you open photoshop and create a new file, i don’t think i always use the exact same measurements but it’s usually around 270 x 380 (it has to be 270px wide tho bc of tumblr’s weird image size regulation)after that u place the images u chose on the new files, you can make them smaller and bigger and move them by clicking ctrl+tit should look a bit like this (ignore the thing under the picture and all the layer jkdlfs i’m explaining the thing w/ the one i made for eleven bc that’s the only one i have saved as a psd whoops)

bc the background of the file doesn’t fit to the background of the picture this needs to be changed for #aesthetic purposes. 

u gotta use the tool i circled in red & click on the background of the image, then create a new layer and draw around the, in this case, dress w/ a soft brush

it should look a bit like thisand now the actual work begins. step 1: colouring: you could ofc just leave this be but i personally have a bw aesthetic to upkeep and things usually look better when u apply some colouring psds 

i always either create my own psds or use some i’ve already made myself bc i have a lot of fun w/ that but it takes a lot of time and there are a lot amazing ones you can download but basically u create a new folder, click a few of the adjustment layers and regulate them until u like the way your picture looks, go wild

your pic may look somewhat like this now or not at all, either way: well done!!!!

now is the time i usually add the text, click on the text tool on the left hand side, the size and font varies for me but in this case i used arial (regular) 14px in capital letters for the name and arial (italic) 12px for the name of this show, just do what u like tbh (to center them select the text layers and the background layers, click on the move tool (left side, first row on the right) and click on the 5th button) 

step 2: the actual doodling. as i said in the introduction: since this step is rlly different for each edit it’s rlly hard to explain but basically you take the pencil tool, i usually put it to 2px. then you make a new layer. now u need to know what u want to make (i just realised that this one is rlly hard to explain so uuuhh i’m gonna go w/ the hat from the fbawtft now,,,,, sorry omg i hope u can follow)

basically what i did for the hat is to draw  two hearts on one layer. i copied that layer several times and repositioned them, using the move tool

then i clicked on the create frame animation button (this is a essential step) and created several new frames (also essential)

then i made sure that the one where the hearts are the closest to (or on) the hat and the one where they are the farthest away from the hat each only have one layer, the others each have twice, one on the way to the top, one back. (to get them certain layers to appear in the picture u click on the frame and the eye of the layer, if u don’t want to see a certain layer, remove the eye by clicking on it.) then i changed the frame rate to something around 0.05-0.18 idk it varies. another essential step is to change the “once” to “forever”

because i wanted to make the hearts look like the come up from or behind the hat, i just erased everything that was drawn over the hat w/ the eraser tool so i had like 1/3 of a heart in the beginning of the gif lmao

and basically that’s it, now u only need to save it (save for web, otherwise the gif won’t move) and you’re done!!!!
