Before I ask my question, I want to make it clear that this isn't intended to be a hate thing. I'm simply curious.
How did you get into the Lambert x Rodrigue ship? I'm still relatively new to the Fire Emblem fandom and haven't gone completely through Three Hopes, so maybe that's why I don't understand the ship? I mean. It's really cute, and your art is adorable, but my only question is why? Did they have a certain interaction that was brought up that made you go "yes!" about the ship? Or was it just a "Hey. It would be cool to ship these two so fuck it. Why not?" No matter how you answer, it's completely valid. I just want to try to understand the ship a bit better.
Because I'm a sucker for the King & his most loyal companion trope -- the homoeroticism of it is compelling to me.
But if you must really know the nitty gritty -- Rodrigue himself talks quite often about Lambert in both 3Houses & Hopes to the point where you can basically make a drinking game out of it ( and probably end up absolutely trashed or dead )
#lambert only really appears in one scene#in 3Houses but you can kinda tell he and Rodrigue are close#and Lambert trusts him wholly to the point where he had him promise to look after his son#if something were to ever happen to him#and rodrigue takes it the whole 1000 yards man#true ride and die there#and i know rodrigue is married and all#but they're fictional regardless#and we're here for a good time not a long time#:: koko speaking!

erod and his adventures with finnish media aka i think my job is to make mikksy giggle and provide emotional support and i will do my job well!
"imma support you" he says as he gives mikksy a good back pat so he understands that heres here for him and is making space for him. mikksy nodding along like yes very well i expected this thank you you will be the court jester by my side yes
their banter is so toptier "youre half finnish" and erods absolutely JOY when he processes it that he got mikksy of all people admitted him as half finnish like yeah you ARE RIGHT. I AM. I KNOW THE MOST FINNISH ON THE TEAM FOR A NOT-FINN the absolute pride that puffed up in him as being admitted into the finns i did not have mikksy teasing erod about being half finnish in my bingo card and yet here we are
mikksy interupting the finnish reporter just to get one last dig in "you can answer too" and erods just utterly delighted mikksy is being this playful i absolutely cannot stand the way they both look away (mikksy at the reporter to lock back in, erod to giggle into his lap before he cant help but look back at mikksy and their eyes meet in a beautiful- i have to stop myself here before i write romantic prose) and mikksy immediately taking the smile off his fave to focus because YEAH YOU NUMBSKULLS YOURE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERVIEW YOU ARE NOT AT A DINNER DATE GOING WHERE THE MOOD TAKES YOU. FOCUS. LOCK TF IN.
when your secret husband teammate starts actually focusing on the interview and youre alone to your own devices listening to all the finnish and going from happy to be here! to oh dear god what are they saying my rudimentary finnish can only take me so far. you can see the way the cogs in brains are turning slowly and he's trying to recall words hes learned to get any semblance of whats being said but its fast paced for him he just gets lost and the big ass grin he got from mikksy teasing just slowly starts to fall...
not a single thought in that brain of his... the lights are on but no ones home...
the many faces of erod as he tries to say the only finnish words he knows "ah can i go now- no."
nows my chance i can make my secret husband ah i mean teammate giggle see i know finnish look how well im doing please look at me! "kiitos" he looks like a puppy waiting for approval and he got it mikksys proud little nod like yes thats a word good job you remembered and you used it in a- well certainly in a context not really the best context- you know what it doesnt matter good job
this is what i imagine its like when you take your secret husband teammate home to your parents and are like "okay after the several months of finnish lessons ive drilled into you to make a good impression on my parents so they like you and see youre assimilating my culture into our relationship and respect us do you remember what to say?" "kiitos :)" "...good enough. youre canadian its okay theyll be impressed with that. just sit there and look pretty and let me do the talking okay dear?" "kiitos :)" "just like that sweetheart keep it up 👍"

I have an idea (although this may be an AU 😅); Byleth is pregnant, Felix is beyond happy and tries to help her when he can. He is extremely jelly his father is even more gentle and seems to know a thing or two (cuz you know, he had two kids xD), until Byleth confronts Felix and tells him that they are all a family
(So I did make it more fluffy than confrontational haha!!)
He was glad that his father was still present, and was thrilled when you revealed you were two months pregnant with your firstborn. Felix was overjoyed, even if his facial expressions rarely showed it.
Despite that, you knew full well how absolutely thrilled he was. He’d wanted to be a father since before you were married, as it was a topic you discussed quite often.
The only problem was that he didn’t feel like he was particularly good at it. The baby wasn’t even born yet but he had few ideas of how best he could help you, and worse yet, he was awkward and insecure about trying to find the best methods to care for his expecting wife.
His father, however, seemed utterly natural at it. Having sired two sons himself, Rodrigue was exceedingly capable at providing you with assistance and recommendations on how to make the pregnancy go smoothly. Felix would watch, jealous, as you tittered away happily with the head Fraldarius, enjoying his company more than himself.
Though to admit he was jealous of his father was simply out of the question. He would never do such an embarrassing thing. Rather he would seethe in the background, just as he was doing today.
The Archbishop was enjoying a rare moment of respite, taking a walk through the monastery gardens with her husband and father-in-law. It didn’t take long for the walk to become more of Felix following behind the two of you, glaring sharply and listening intently while you discussed the latest happenings of your pregnancy.
“I fear the swelling has already begun, Rodrigue.” You sounded so tired, which was somewhat upsetting to your husband. “It’s hard to keep focus in meetings when it feels as though my feet will burst from these slippers.”
“They’re not what you usually wear, are they?” His father replied, as gentle and introspective as always. “They seem to be a different pair than what I recall seeing the Archbishop in.”
“They are- Felix bought them for me recently to help with the discomfort.” You nodded back to your husband, flashing him a small smile. “But I fear I’ve outgrown them already; why must they be so uncomfortable?”
“I can assure you, though it may feel akin to your body growing exponentially, it’s simply the sensation that accompanies the mild swelling. Enclosed shoes tend to be restrictive, despite shoemakers’ best efforts to fashion comfortable slippers for those faced with your situation.”
“What would you recommend, then?” You asked, feeling Felix’s sharp glare somehow intensify on your back. He was embarrassed he made a mistake.
“I recall open-toed sandals were a favorite of Felix’s mother, aprticularly when she was carrying him. Glenn was a little gentler on her body, for whatever reason. But having some sturdy, open faced shoes like that should be a marked improvement.”
“Where do you think I can get-”
“I’ll take care of it,” Felix snapped, drawing both your attentions forward. He flushed slightly, glancing away “I mean, you’re pregnant. You don’t need to go into town. I’ll get them for you, so just tell me what kind of shoes you want.”
“You know I’m not picky,” You started, until you recognized the angry glimmer all but begging you to help him out for a second.
You stifled a laugh.
“I’ll think up some ideas for sandals, then.”
The rest of the walk was somewhat pleasant although you did share a knowing smile with your father-in-law, feeling Felix pouting behind you.
He was already overprotective, but he wasn’t sure what to think about his father jumping in and giving you some much needed advice.Mostly because he felt like it shouldn’t be coming from Rodrigue at all, but that it was knowledge he didn’t have any experience with at all.
And he definitely hated that.
“If I may be candid, I’m afraid that’s not the only thing that’s been causing me discomfort.” You continued, earning Felix’s immediate attention.
“Of course, Byleth. I can assure you that there is nothing to be ashamed of, asking for assistance with your pregnancy. And I am certain it won’t be anything I haven’t dealt with, before.”
“All right, well…I have been dealing with some swelling and discomfort in my breasts, too.”
Felix nearly face planted into the path when you said that to his father.
Dear gods, you were telling his father that your breasts were-
“Not to worry. When she entered the second trimester with Glenn, we discovered that she had severe discomfort and pain for several days while we waited for the doctor to come to our home. Thankfully we were given plenty of helpful advice.”
“Father, please!” Felix cut in, all but throwing himself between his wife and guardian, his face alight with an agitated blush. “We can consult with a midwife- the last thing I want to hear is you giving my wife advice about her-”
“We don’t have to summon him and wait days for him to make it up the mountain, Felix.” You cut him off gently, not understanding what he was so upset about (because why would you?). “Please, Rodrigue, continue.”
“Very well,” He laughed, “There are a few surefire methods to easing your pain. I recall purchasing a number of braziers that did not have wiring or lace; the feel of them can cause discomfort at this stage of pregnancy. Something with cotton, or something more firm that can provide better support.”
“Excellent, that’s more than enough-”
“I would also recommend some more loose clothing; I’m certain Seteth would be glad to arrange for a new wardrobe for the expectant Archbishop. And if those things do not help enough, a cold compress rested on your chest will be quite effective- and, ironically, if the cold doesn’t help, a warm bath should be able to help instead!”
“That’s all excellent advice.” You beamed at him, looking far more relieved than before. Felix stared at you, in utter disbelief. “I wish I had written it down…but it shouldn’t be hard to remember.”
“I’ll take care of it,” Felix snapped, “But I think this conversation is over. Byleth, we should go.”
“Oh, but I wanted to ask him about my cervi-”
“We’re leaving!!”
He grabbed your wrist, tugging you away from Rodrigue and all but storming down the path, leaving the man in the dust.
Rodrigue watched after his flustered son with a fond smile; that boy could get so worked up over the smallest things, even all these years later.
-------------------------
You allowed him to pull you along for a few minutes, at least until you were halfway up the stairs and headed back to your bedroom.
“Felix?”
He didn’t answer, jaw clenched tight as he marched up the stairs.
“Felix, please slow down. My feet are…”
When you trailed off he paused, shoulders stiff as though he suddenly remembered the state of you. He turned around, checking you over and feeling a pang of guilt when he saw you were panting, clearly uncomfortable.
“Oh. Right. Sorry.” He stopped, kneeling in front of you. He took your foot in his hands, carefully slipping the shoe from your heel and tucking it into his pocket. You watched as he switched to the other foot, working methodically and very, very carefully so as not to press on your feet and hurt them further.
“Thank you,” Your whisper was met with a bashful nod.
“Let me carry you the rest of the way.” He lifted you to his chest, very gently so as not to risk harming you any further. The sigh of relief that escaped was quite involuntary, but it did make him feel a little better knowing he was helping.
He kicked the door shut behind him, lowering you onto the bed. He made sure you were comfortable before he relinquished his hold.
“Is there anything else you need? Are you feeling hungry, or tired?”
“A bit of both, but also…do you think you could get me a cold compress, like your father mentioned?””
Felix hesitated some, his lips drawn into a thin line. “You sure you want that?”
“It sounded promising. And my breasts are more uncomfortable after that walk…I must not have as supportive undergarments as I thought.”
“Y-yeah, well, it’s not like we can just take his word for it, I mean what does he know?”
“He raised two children, of which you are one.”
“That was over two decades ago! His information is outdated, at best. We can’t trust a thing he says! Just let me call a midwife in, and while we wait I can draw a warm bath for you.”
“Felix…what’s on your mind?” You leaned back into the pillows, eying your husband warily. He was clearly upset, as he had been since the garden walk.
His shoulders fell some, and he looked away, clearly indicating that he was indeed troubled.
“It’s nothing. I’m just…I’m just being stupid.”
“Well it’s not ‘nothing’ if you’re bothered by it.” You held out your hand, gesturing for him to come back to your side. “Tell me what you’re worried about.”
With a soft sigh, he returned to your side and took your hand, holding it awkwardly. He sank down onto the bedside, earning a squeeze of his fingers.
“Out with it.”
“I…didn’t like Father talking to you. A-about that stuff.”
“Why?”
“Because it made me feel frustrated. Like I- like I should know those things! I’m the one who’s expecting a baby. I feel like it’s not his place to talk about things like that, especially not with you! If he really wanted to help, he could at least save us both embarrassment and just talk to me directly.”
You covered his hand with both of yours, smiling softly at your agitated little panther. “Felix…there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. We are both new to this. You’d think I would know how to remedy these things, since it’s happening in my body, you know?”
“That’s ridiculous- you’ve never been pregnant before, so how are you supposed to just know how to- …oh.”
He cut himself off when he caught your smile, just slightly more smug than usual.
“You’re going to be a father for the first time. Nobody expects you to know everything, and I wouldn’t put that pressure on you, either. I don’t want you to get frustrated because you might be unsure. We’re learning together, Felix.”
“I…I suppose.” He huffed, “But…even you have to admit that asking my father about your breasts is incredibly odd.”
The laugh that escaped was bright, enhanced when he shot an embarrassed glare at you. “If it really bothers you, I can ask for a midwife’s help. But you’re going to have to let me consult with him when there isn’t one nearby.”
“Or you can just write down the questions and I’ll give them to him.”
“Or, you know…I can have a little time with my father-in-law and ask him questions directly.” You cupped his face in your hands when his frown deepened, drawing him into your sweet gaze. “But I will reserve more delicate questions for the midwife so you’re more comfortable. Is that reasonable?”
He tilted to kiss your palm, “That is reasonable.”
“Good. Now if you don’t mind, I could really use that cold compress because I’m incredibly sore.”
“Yeah.” He stood, planting a kiss on your forehead before letting you go. “I’ll be quick.”
“Thank you, my love.”
Felix would indeed make quick work to get the cold compress, which did wonders for your soreness. It did give Felix a reason to reach out to his father for a few more tips and tricks, and a bashful apology to his father for being so flustered when he was helpful.
At least, until you received the letter stating the midwife had been called to a sudden birth on the other side of the mountain and would likely be gone until right before your delivery…
Rodrigue being your temporary long-term consultant was a delightful surprise to you, though Felix had to work hard to suppress how mortified he felt. Luckily he was easy to placate; nothing plenty of kisses and letting him put his head in your lap and mope couldn’t fix.

so one would think that Nathan is technically in charge and Jill would be deferring to him when it comes to Nurie and their kids
I’m not American, but in my very Christian culture, your in-laws become your parents too upon marriage. It’s relatively common for people to refer to their in-laws as “mom” and “dad” and I know David Waller has done that with the Kellers.
Why I note this is while men are seen as the head of the household, Nathan may still see Jill as a parent whom he should honour (as per the commandment). While he’s a man, he was also taught that his parents are superior beings to him.
Putting your mother-in-laws wants over the needs and wellbeing of your wife and newborn child is super crappy, don’t get me wrong. But I thought I’d get your opinion on the above dynamic.
That's a great question, in the US I really think it depends on the flavor of Christianity we're talking about. For the most part, it is definitely important that in-laws are respected across the board, but I do think the more conservative you get the more emphasis is put on treating them like you would your actual parents, ie calling them Mom and Dad.
What the first anon is talking about is, in the Rodrigues and Waller flavor of Christianity, the husband has the final say in everything to do with his nuclear family, even sometimes if his or his wife's parents don't agree with him. That's their interpretation of the whole "man is the head of the household/helpmeet" thing, and wives become primarily apart of their husband's family as opposed to their fathers when they get married, so they would consider anyone trying to undermine a husband's authority as going against that belief. So for example (this is *not* how I really think it went btw), if Nathan thought it was ok for Nurie to go out days after birth, and Jill mentioned she didn't think it was ok but Nathan insisted, she'd have to default to his judgement per her beliefs. She wouldn't find this inherently disrespectful.
There also is kind of a complicated dynamic with mom-in-laws vs dad-in-laws vs husbands, like if there ever was a big disagreement with the husband, it would be the father-in-law who'd be in charge of talking to him about it because in their patriarchal structure, his opinion carries far more weight. Like if in that hypothetical scenario Jill really thought Nathan was making the wrong decision, she would go to David and ask him to talk to him, bc in the hierarchy of who gets to make decisions for Nathan's family Jill is technically at the absolute bottom.
So as you can imagine, it's a very delicate balance that can lead to some weird situations. A "good" husband in this instance would still consult and respect his and his wife's parents, but in a worst-case scenario, he really doesn't have to care what they say at all. And a Priscilla or Nurie in this situation is completely dependent on their husband actually caring about their well-being over the haughty ideals of their belief system.
#i think for the Rods it is particularly complicated bc Jill attracts people she can have sway over on purpose#or at least she tries to#fundamentalist christianity#religion#fundamentalism#the rodrigues family

blurb from the upcoming chapter (go read it, modern dimileth royalty au). Byleth is not calling Felix a double colonizer, she's a sweet girl.
I, however
Also since I'm here, author's note/inside my brain time.
I did not come up with Wasian Felix, I've seen this headcanon around the fandom for a minute. But it's one of my favorite fandom hcs. It makes a lot of sense for him as a character and it also add diversity into the story which it really does need. I understand why a game that takes place in the 12th century fake Europe only has 6(?) (Dedue, Claude, Petra, Cyril, Shamir, Hapi) POC but it's fanfic, I can do whatever I want. I have never been part of an all white friend group and I'm not write about that in my self indulgent little fanfic.
Felix also just has biracial kid having an identity struggle™ energy. Hating your homeland is not exclusive to biracial/multicultural/immigrant kids but I do think it's different than when you're part of the majority ethnic group. Felix does not hate Faerghus, no matter what he says. I think he's been burned. As an immigrant kid I deeply relate to that. I don't hate the US, I'm just so very bitter. If I could, I'd tell it to go fuck itself and move somewhere sunny and fun (which I did) but it will always be home. Felix may hate and curse Faerghus, but he still very much cares.
I know other fanfic writers have that he's half Dagdan or Hoshidan to avoid using real world countries. I didn't do that because there's so many dudes I wanted to make POC and it's was honestly just easier for me to use our world.
Anyways. Usaigi AU canon. Rodrigue is half Japanese but grew up in England in the 70s/80s so adamant about being British. Married another Japanese-British women and had Glenn and Felix. And while they tried to stay connected to their Japanese heritage, it became especially difficult after Rodrigue's wife passed since he spend so much of his life trying to assimilate. Felix proceeds to grow up feeling like an outsider in high british society and in his own friend group. Sylvain tries to relate to him cuz he's also mix (half Argentinean) but he's still white. He doesn't get it. At least he has Glenn. And then Glenn dies. Then he has no one. The one person who should understand him says the worst thing ever and it just crushes him.

FE OC Week Introductions:
Felicity-Adjacent:
Felicity 'Fia' Eirian Fraldarius (née Gloucester) Lorenz's aunt (his father's sister) who marries Rodrigue and moves to Faerghus. She's purple, taller than Rodrigue in heels, and my favourite lady ever. Super refined and skilled at court, poison, gossip, backstabbing, and finding advantageous situations for herself and her immediate family. Once she goes to the School of Sorcery she makes a friend and chills out a bit but the scheminess never truly goes away. Can be selfish. when things look bad for others, she's a voice of reason. When they look bad for herself, she makes them worse.
Reinald Gloucester Lorenz's father. I'm sorry, I'm an Erwin Denier. My Count Gloucester looks like Gunter from Fates and is a bitter gossipy bitchass who plots to kill Godfrey and then succeeds. He's got no hope of redeeming himself. He wants Lorenz to be a miniature version of himself and then Lorenz goes and makes friends. He wants Felicity to be an extension of the Gloucester plotting in Faerghus but then she goes and makes friends. Reinald maybe if you made some friends you would calm down, but I know you won't.
Felicimom I don't have to waste time on Felicity and Reinald's parents. Felicimom is from Adrestia and is a snob. She also is disparaging and controlling.
Felicidad Count Gloucester Sr is a boring old coot who wants to have his hands in all the pies, hence marrying an Adrestian, encouraging the rivalry between his family and Riegan, and sending Felicity off to the Kingdom to marry the future king's right hand man in the hopes that she will be able to convince him to legislate according to Gloucester's wishes. Maybe even to try and get one of her kids (hopefully bearing the crest of gloucester) into the royal family via arranged marriage. Anyway this obviously does not work out once felicity makes friends.
Unnamed Pegasus Felicity gets to be a Dark Flier because I think it's cool. Her pegasus is a gift from Rodrigue on their anniversary (second or third, idk). I don't have a name for this beast yet.
Colette 'Letty' Faustine Dominic Annette's mom. Why is she Felicity-Adjacent? Well it's because they were roommates at the School of Sorcery and Colette was Felicity's first and only friend for a long while. She's a lot like Annette when it comes to study, but she's not shy about her singing. Will shout well-known tavern songs at the top of her lungs with the usual lyrics replaced with inappropriate ones.
Godfrey von Riegan Claude's uncle who dies before Houses. I'm saying that he and Percival (Rodrigue's brother) met at the Officer's Academy and struck up an unconventional relationship that they continue, long-distance. He loves art and jokes and good wine and bad wine and theatre and being at the heart of drama and gossip.

My Analysis of the Best Paired Endings in 3H (Part 18: AM Ingrid/Ashe)
Ingrid: …My father, too, brought up marriage proposals to ensure the family's survival numerous times. I had a fiancé when I was a child… But he passed away at a young age… Mercedes: If that fiancé were still alive… Would you have married him? Ingrid: Well… who knows? I can't even imagine it myself. But I do know that I admired him. A proud way of life as a knight serving the king. Even now, I've always wanted to be a knight like him. I want to live as a knight, not as a tool for the family's survival. Regardless of what my father says.
Ingrid was also a victim of Faerghus's patriarchal culture. She was sold by her father and engaged to Glenn the same year she was born in order to pass on her Crest. There's no question that she loved her fiancé dearly, but I suspect that her love was more like that of a sister toward a brother rather than actual romantic love. She wasn't sure if she would have married him if he had survived.
The Crest of Daphnel is associated with The Chariot arcana. The message is one of maintaining focus and confidence in the pursuit of your goals. It suggests that your strength and commitment is being tested by the universe, so don't give up or look for shortcuts. It also signifies the need to take action and move forward. Finally, it can represent a need to control your own destiny.
Dorothea: I could never hand over my lovely Ingrid to some jerk who only wants her for her Crest. Ingrid: Oh? Do I belong to you now, rather than to myself?
Ingrid's paralogue was about her and Dorothea's contrasting views of marriage. Ingrid was not looking for a provider. Even though she needed the funds, she wanted to belong to herself. Not her father, not her brothers, not a husband. She didn't want to marry a man she wasn't in love with for a dowry. Knighthood was the only way she could pledge her life to a man she chose for herself.
Ingrid: [W]e hardly ever played together. The age gap was just too great. My eldest brother in particular was incredibly strict with me. Whenever I would try to go horseback riding through the hills, he would say… "How dare you do something so dangerous! What if something happened to you?!" What's worse, my father agreed with him. It kept me from getting out on too many adventures as a child. Thinking back on it, I understand their concern. I was the only one in the family to bear a Crest, after all.
Ingrid was also not looking for a protector. She wanted to live an active adventurous lifestyle protecting those she cared for. Knighthood was also a way for her to hold onto her childhood happiness. A time where she was truly free.
Felix: House Fraldarius has been the king's lance and shield for generations. Ever since the time of Kyphon, sworn friend of the great King Loog. At times we've been sent to defeat the crown's enemies. At others, we've held back to defend the throne. I admit the style has its uses, idiotic history of blind faith aside.
Ingrid dreamt of obtaining knighthood and defending the king ever since she was a little girl. Growing up, she was obsessed with the book Sword of Kyphon which was about Loog's "sworn friend". The Aegis Shield is based on Greek Mythology. Rodrigue's middle name is "Achille". The writers were probably inspired by Achilles from the Iliad.
Ingrid: [Kyphon] was the very picture of the perfect knight. In my opinion, the best chapter is right around the middle of the book… Ashe: Ah, the part about the War of the Eagle and Lion? That's my favorite part! "In a flash, Kyphon's sword flew from its scabbard. The knight parried the assassin's blade mere inches from the spine of his king."
If so, Kyphon probably had feelings for Loog beyond just friendship. That may be why Ingrid identified with him. And it's also why she and Rodrigue (though he is the topic for a different post) idealized a knight's death so much. Ingrid didn't just want to serve her country. She wanted to serve as the lance and shield to a man she was in love with. And she was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for him.
Ingrid: I want to serve as a knight and protect my homeland. I know this, through and through. It has been my truth for as long as I can remember. However, I feel that I should choose a path that would benefit my father. I was raised by him in a happy home, never wanting for anything, despite my family's meager finances. I owe it to him to choose a path he'd approve of.
AM!Ingrid was willing to completely give up on her dream and choose a path that would make her father happy. But she has an A+ Support conversation with Seteth that is exclusive to AM. He encourages her to talk with her father and he will respect her wishes.
Ingrid: But even if I do become a knight, I feel an unease deep within me. I fear I will never escape this guilt I carry. That I have shunned my duty as a noble. Byleth: Could you not find a way to do both? Ingrid: To follow both my dream and my duty? I…I had never considered that as an option. Perhaps there is a way.
The idea that she could be a wife and a knight never seemed to occur to her until Byleth suggested it. But that did seem to be the solution to her problems. She becomes a knight in every one of her AM endings, except when paired with Felix or Sylvain.
Ingrid: Oh, you mean the makeup? That's exaggerated. I just learned a bit from Annette. It's still trial and error… Hey Sylvain, do you think I've changed somehow?
In Ingrid's A+ Support with Sylvain, she was wearing makeup before heading to the training grounds. She didn't necessarily dislike looking her best, but she resented the social pressure to pretty herself up for men to "pounce" on. So, the fact that she was dolled up was uncharacteristic for her.
Sylvain: No, I'm not really flustered… I just got a little curious about the reason, is all. Ingrid: …The reason for the makeup, huh. What do you think it is? Sylvain: Well… Is it because of a guy? If we're talking about someone you might like, going by your past tendencies… Felix… No, His Highness also has a chance.
Sylvain was very flustered, suspecting it must be for a guy. His first assumption is Felix, due to her past history with Glenn. But Dimitri was another possibility.
Sylvain: It might also be because of the knights… Oh, wait, me!? Ingrid: I'll hit you. Sylvain: W-wait, I was just kidding! I'm against violence! Being too rough ruins a beauty, you know! ………… Uh, well. I-I mean, when I say "beauty," I'm not talking about flirting or anything, yeah! Ingrid: …Beauty, huh. Hehe.
He also suspected it might be for him, but Ingrid shut that down pretty fast. She was flattered by his compliment, but it was left very ambiguous whether she was wearing the makeup for him or not.
Ingrid: Usually, I wore men's clothing, ran around in the mountains with male friends, and played around. And then… After my fiancé's death, I definitely wanted to avoid anything feminine. Thinking, "There's no need to show it to him," and… I've been bound by something like guilt for a long time.
In the Japanese version of the Ingrid/Sylvain A+ Support, Ingrid mentioned that Annette had been helping her practice her makeup. Her Support with Annette was about how she felt guilty for looking feminine. The fact that she had finally changed her appearance implied that she was ready to move on from Glenn. So, I do believe that Sylvain was right, and she was wearing the makeup for a guy.
Dimitri: You displayed unwavering, excellent spear skills. Was there indeed some change in your state of mind? Ingrid: ...As I mentioned before, thanks to Your Highness, I can move forward.
In her A-Support with Dimitri, she said that she could finally move on from Glenn's death because of him. It even took place at the training grounds, the place she was headed to in her A+ Support with Sylvain.
Dimitri: Ah, yes, that's right. …What did that mean exactly? Ingrid: …I finally managed to accept the truth I've been avoiding for so long. Glenn must have felt deep regret. Yet, I myself didn't want to acknowledge it. I've been twisting his true nature, imposing my ideals, and averting my gaze… Dimitri: …I see.
The tagline for the game was, "Sweet memories twisted by time's cruel hand". Ingrid coped with grief by romanticizing the truth. She had to believe that Glenn died a picture-perfect death like the ones in her childhood storybooks, because the truth was just too horrible. Her Support chain with Dimitri was about realizing that she was projecting her own feelings onto Glenn.
Ingrid: …Your Highness. I won't sacrifice my life for anyone else. But, would you allow me to live for someone else, Your Highness? Not in the sense of throwing away my life—I want to dedicate my life to you. Dimitri: ...Hold on. How should I interpret that? Ingrid: …? However you please, Your Highness. Dimitri: Haha… "However I please," huh. …You win. Ingrid. Once this battle is over, I want you to… As a knight, I want you to support me. …I've been meaning to say that for a while now. We seem to get along well. Ingrid: …As a knight? Uh, um, no! It's nothing! Of course, even without being told, I was planning to fight for you… and, um, for my country.
Ingrid's offer to pledge her life to Dimitri as a knight was essentially a marriage proposal as well. She won't even make a wish with Byleth at the Goddess Tower. And this is actually the ONLY A-Support where her feelings are unambiguously romantic. She dreamt of being a knight to be close to him. If she married Dimitri, she knew she could fulfill both her dream and her duty to her father. Therefore, if you're playing AM, I believe that Ingrid was wearing the makeup for Dimitri.
While Ingrid's feelings were very clear, Dimitri's response to her "proposal" is a lot more ambiguous. He did not ask her to be his wife like she was hoping, only to become his knight. It could be interpreted as him just being shy. Or it could be interpreted as an awkward rejection. Based on Ingrid's sad expression, it did seem like she interpreted his response as him letting her down gently.
Felix: So… He's finally shown his true face. The same Dimitri I've seen once before—a beast who loves spilling blood. Ingrid: You're wrong! I'm sure of it. There has to be an explanation…
Ingrid probably did the same to Dimitri as she did to Glenn. She was holding onto an idealistic childhood fantasy and could only see him as he was when they were kids, even though he had changed. She was in complete denial of his boar side. Dimitri was willing to throw away his childhood friends' lives at Gronder Field, including hers. He did turn his life around thanks to Byleth, but it wasn't surprising to me that he didn't feel comfortable accepting her marriage proposal.
Dimitri: If you're willing, would you like to go together? Of course, if you still feel hesitant, I won't force you… Ingrid: …No! Please, let me accompany you. It's embarrassing, but I probably would have hesitated to go alone. But with you… I feel like I can take a step forward without fear. Dimitri: I see. Alright, let's not waste any time. Allow me to treat you today, Ingrid.
In Hopes, Dimitri was able to help Ingrid face the reality of Glenn's death sooner and move forward. We even learn that she wanted to go to the castle to support him after the Tragedy of Duscur, but her father wouldn't let her. Dimitri always did want a girlfriend and he actually seemed very interested in Ingrid in Hopes. She gladly accepted when he offered to treat her to a meal.
Sylvain: Alright, then. Let me help you out… let's have a meal. My treat, miss. Ingrid: Wait a minute. Are you trying to flirt with me? I thought you'd matured. Sylvain: Oh, come on… I'm just trying to be thoughtful. Don't turn down a kind gesture, or you'll regret it. Ingrid: …I suppose you're right. Thank you for your consideration, Sylvain.
It's worth noting that in their Hopes A-Support, Sylvain also offered to treat her to a meal. She was more than happy to eat on his coin, but only if it's not a date. While Sylvain is often viewed as the "canon" love interest for Ingrid, I didn't really see any evidence that her love for him was anything other than sisterly. She was so fed up with his sexism that she took her annoyance with him out on Claude.
They made the Ingrid/Sylvain A+ ambiguous enough for you to view Sylvain as her love interest if you want. But they also left it open for Dimitri and there's more evidence that he was the one Ingrid had romantic feelings for, even if she never thought marrying the king was possible. I think that in the Hopes timeline, they probably would have ended up together. But in Houses, Dimitri was just too different.
Ingrid: As you said, situations change whether we like it or not… Nobody can stay the same. Of course, neither you nor I are exceptions… It's just that, I feel a little lonely because of it.
In VW, Dimitri is assumed to be dead. However, a recruited Ingrid still runs away from home in order to become a knight. So, her childhood dream was not solely related to her feelings for Dimitri. She wanted to go back to the past.
Ingrid: My friends and I used to explore the countryside together when we were young. I dearly miss those days.
Ingrid was a tomboy who loved playing outside, getting dirty, and going on adventures. In Hopes, her central conflict was not just about marriage but also about the fact that she was inevitably going to lead House Galatea. She hated desk work and was dreading the changes that would inevitably come along with adulthood and becoming a count, doing mountains of paperwork.
Ingrid: Knights, I suppose. I do what I can to live like one. And I hope to die like one too…when the time comes.
If Shez takes Ingrid out on an expedition and asks her what she likes, her response is quite disturbing. Even though she had given up on her dream, she said that she was still planning to die like a knight, implying that she was hoping to die during the war. And in SB, she dies like a true knight, just as she hoped.
Dimitri: At the Tragedy of Duscur, I saw countless corpses. Of course, I saw his too…Glenn's. Ingrid, I doubt you would have been able to see him. They were unable to bring his body back, after all. He must have died an agonizing death, full of pain and regret. That is what I saw in his face. Ingrid: … Dimitri: In that wasteland, there were no beautiful, proud deaths that could have been written about in heroic tales. Not one. I do not want you to die a death like that. Not even for the sake of loyalty or duty.
Glenn was Dimitri's best friend and even he died with a heavy heart. But Ingrid actually was content to die protecting Dimitri. And I'm sure her romantic feelings for her king played a role. Symbolically, she dies at the Silver Maiden (named after a pure maiden that is hard to penetrate). But I cannot help but suspect that her romanticization of a knight's death was also influenced by the fact that she was not looking forward to her future as a tradwife and Count Galatea.
Gilbert: Once you don the armor, raise your shield, and level your lance… Why? What is it you wish to protect? Ashe: Protect? I, um… Well, whatever needs protecting, right? Gilbert: You must know exactly what you protect before you become a knight.
Like Ingrid, it was Ashe's dream to become a knight. He wanted to be like his adoptive father Lonato, who he thought was the very model of chivalry. And his character arc was about how to come to terms with Lonato's death.
Ashe: I don't think that friend who protected you threw his life away because he was a knight. He just wanted to save his best friend. Dimitri: Even if it meant destroying futures that might have come to pass had he but lived? Ashe: Look, I don't know if what he did was right. So if you're asking me not to throw my life away, I promise that I won't. But I don't think it's wrong to fight to the end for someone that you love.
Ashe gets some pretty interesting development in Hopes. He becomes a knight to House Blaiddyd, just like in his AM paired ending with Ingrid (it's actually the only ending where he becomes a royal knight). He has a rather naive and rosy view of chivalry, while Dimitri has a more cynical view. Ashe agrees with him, but he does respect the idea of fighting to the end for someone he loves.
Ashe: I'm glad Lonato made it out safely, but… But we killed Ingrid. I can't ever go back, can I? There's no place left for me in Faerghus. Whatever part of me that was a knight is dead.
And he clearly needs that kind of personal motivation. Outside of AG, Ashe is one of the only Lions who has the option to defect from Faerghus. In SB, he wanted to protect Lonato. But his primary motivation in GW was to save his own life. Becoming a knight was one thing, but it turns out living up the ideal was a lot harder. Ingrid is the one who takes his betrayal the most personally. And when she is killed, the part of Ashe that was a knight dies along with her.
Gilbert: Lord Lonato took up his sword for his son. Even if that meant turning his back on the goddess… As a father, I cannot condemn Lord Lonato for raising an army. Yet, perhaps he too lost sight of what should be protected. Just as I did. Ashe: I don't understand what you mean. What should Lonato have protected? Gilbert: You, Ashe. Because you are also his son. Ashe: You're right… I think I know what I need to protect now.
Ingrid didn't just want to follow orders. She wanted to protect those she loved. And Gilbert told Ashe that to he needed to know exactly what he was protecting when he became a knight. He needed something personal; the way Gilbert had his family. Ashe wanted Lonato to live on through him.
Ashe: Um, anyway, I just… wanted you to smile. Ingrid: …Thank you, Ashe. You're encouraging me. Certainly, living as a knight may not be an easy path. .…We may be forced to live while bearing great pain and regret. But… I want to continue pursuing that dream. Talking with you makes me feel that way. Besides, giving up easily isn't like me at all.
And that's what A-Support with Ingrid was about. Lonato changed Ashe's life with a book. And Ingrid was encouraged to carry on her dream and Glenn's legacy thanks to the book Ashe gifted her. I also think he'd be able to help her move on from Dimitri, too. That's why I think these two characters complement each other's character arcs the best and are indispensable to each other as knights.
Ingrid & Ashe After the war, with a new king ascending the throne of Faerghus, Ingrid left House Galatea and joined the royal capital, Fhirdiad, to serve the royal family as a knight. Likewise, Ashe departed from his homeland of Gaspard and chose the path to become a knight of the royal family. Devoted to the future of the Kingdom, they took on any duty to protect the king. Eventually, they were praised as the "Twin Pillars of Knights" and left their mark in many tales of chivalry. In some stories, they are depicted as a loving couple. While the truth remains unknown, it is certain that they fought together until the end of their lives and were each other's inseparable companions.
In Ingrid's ending with Ashe, she lives out her childhood dream. She and Ashe even get a cool nickname similar to the Ferdibert ending. Ashe is known for his boundless courage and devotion. He is the picture-perfect knight from the story books, completely different from the cowardice he displayed in Hopes.
While the Japanese version does not mention marriage, it is implied that Ingrid and Ashe spent their loves together as lovers. Still, it is left up to interpretation. Outside AM, they explicitly fall in love and get married, so I have no reason to believe they weren't lovers in AM as well. But the point is that Ingrid went down in history for her own accomplishments, not just as someone's wife.

Fundie Happenings in 2024 Q3
I've been in and out of fundieland for several months, so this post is mostly for my own benefit. Please let me know what all I've missed, and I'll update the post accordingly.
Here's what's happened in July-Sep of 2024.
Duggar Family
Jana Duggar marries Stephen Wissmann! After years of speculation and hints, the theories are confirmed. Jana and Stephen dated for a time, broke up, and got back together. Jana seems so happy, and I'm genuinely thrilled for her.
Jedidiah + Katey announce that she is pregnant again--and she's going to have the first set of Grandduggar twins. Given the way twins work, this is just an interesting coincidence that a (male) Duggar twin is going to have twins.
Jason Duggar announces that he's dating a girl named Maddie Jones. They get engaged on August 24. They might be getting married next month, but that remains to be confirmed.
Bates Family
Lawson + Tiffany welcome their first child, William Daniel Bates. He is a rainbow baby.
Nathan + Esther are awaiting their second child, a son.
Katie + Travis are awaiting welcome their second child, Harvey Gray. (Just in time to make Q3! Harvey was born on 9/29, and Katie posted about it late on 9/30.)
Rodrigues Family
Nurie + Nathan welcome Naomi Christine, Jill's first granddaughter. Nurie is seen serving in church service when she is freshly postpartum, and this is treated (by Jill) as evidence of Nurie's servant's heart and not an insult to a woman recovering from childbirth.
Timothy Rodrigues and Heidi Coverett get married, and Jill has some online beef with the Coveretts. I wish the newlyweds all the best, and I pray that Tim gets more distance from his mother.
Phillip Rodrigues seems to be in trouble. Jill asks for prayer for him, he posts some cryptic poetry, and he gets photoshopped into the family photo at the wedding.
Samuel Rodrigues is courting Brianne Hessert. Folks on the internet track down a video that may be Brianne saying homophobic vitriol to her rather open-minded father. If this really is her, she will fit right in with the Rodrigues clan.
Other Fundie Families
David + Priscilla (Keller) Waller welcome their seventh child, Desiree Hope. This answers the question about their baby name theme--girls get D names, and boys get P names.
Jeremiah + Allison (Bontrager) Helferich welcome their third child, Amelia Marie.
Mark + Sierra Dominguez welcome their eighth child, Briggs Maverick.
Isaac + Arti Anderson welcome their first child, Dietrich Johannes. This is the Andersons' first grandchild.
Miriam Anderson, the fourth child of Steven + Zsuzsanna, speaks out against her parents for their abuse.

Sylvain and Medee: C-Support
Summary: Medee is working in the infirmary when Sylvain comes in to get treatment for an injury. The two have a conversation, and Sylvain learns something interesting about Mother Vestra.
Written in script format under the cut.
Medee: [TENDING TO THE INFIRMARY, PAUSES] You are avoiding me, it seems. Hiding from me and my old age. Quite rude, you know, Young Gautier.
Sylvain: [POKES HIS HEAD INTO THE ROOM] Uh, no? Not hiding. Nope. Just….uh…did you guess I was there? Or did someone tell you I was coming, or…?
Medee: [TURNS TO LOOK AT HIM] You are injured.
Sylvain: Ah, no. It's nothing.
Medee: [CHANGES DEPENDING ON WHO SYLVAIN HAS HIGHEST BOND WITH] If it were nothing, you would not have been sent to me. Let me guess…. it was [NAME HERE], wasn't it? You two have been growing particularly close as of late.
Medee: [IF THE HIGHEST BOND SYLVAIN HAS IS WITH A VESTRA] I must say, I did not anticipate you of all people to grow close to my children.
Sylvain: Yeah, well, what can I say? I'm a likeable guy.
Medee: Is that right? Well then, I would like it if this 'likeable guy' would sit down on the bed and allow me to tend to the cut on his leg. And the sprain of his wrist. And perhaps, if we have time, that kink in his back.
Sylvain: Hold on. How did-?
Medee: Are you going to sit down, Gautier? Or must I acquire a sedative?
Sylvain: Ah…well….okay….Sitting down.
Medee: Good. [GOES TO GRAB SUPPLIES] You are quite reckless when it comes to your own safety over that of your allies. That is a trait you got from your father, no doubt.
Sylvain: Can we not talk about him right now? I just want to get patched up and get back to the front lines. Anything else can wait until after the war.
Medee: Yes, you definitely are Matthias's son. Though your features don't resemble him much. Aside from hair and eye color. No, your softer cheekbones come from Adela.
Sylvain: I said can we not- wait…you know my mother?
Medee: Is it so strange that I know her? She was a graduate the same year I was. Though she was a little younger. [HANDS HIM A SMALL PLUSH DRAGON] Hold onto this and squeeze if the medication stings.
Sylvain: Right. [TAKES THE PLUSH] It's not that it's strange, I just…didn't expect you to remember her at all. Most people don't remember my mother's name. They focus on me or my father. Never her.
Medee: A curse that befalls all Crestless women who marry in the Kingdom and don't carve a name through magic or battle. However, I make it a point to remember the names of every living being who has ever tangentially crossed paths with me, even if there is some distance removed.
Sylvain: And just how far does that remembering go?
Medee: Do you really wish to know?
Sylvain: We're gonna be here a while. And I'm curious just how much you really know about my mother.
Medee: Very well. [CONTINUES TREATMENT AS SHE TALKS] Adela Luz Gautier was once the daughter of a minor noble house by the name Monterey, who were very distantly related to House Dominic. Most of House Monterey passed on during the Plagues, leaving her the only survivor. She was a Blue Lion the same year as Matthias, Rodrigue, and his Majesty, King Lambert. Despite her being near five years their junior at the time, she was formidable with Reason Magic, a skill you picked up. She was also the Blue Lion representative for the White Heron Cup that year. She lost to the Black Eagles representative, whose portrait remains hanging in the Gautier family home to this day…
[SOME TIME LATER]
Medee: There. All done.
Sylvain: Woah. I can't believe it. It's like I never suffered any pain before in my life. They don't call you Mother of Faithology for nothing.
Medee: You are a flatterer. That is a trait you also got from Adela.
Sylvain: I'll take that as a compliment.
Medee: You should. Adela is an incredibly sincere individual. Always has been.
Sylvain: Yeah. She has. Well, I better get going. Lot of work to do. [TURNS TO LEAVE, PAUSES] Would…it be okay to come talk to you again? About my mother?
Medee: [NODS] Of course. It will be a nice change of pace from having you avoiding me as though I were a Demonic Beast.
Sylvain: Uh…right. Well, talk to you later then. [LEAVES]
Medee: Hmh...

I have no actual plot ideas for you, but I would love to see a childhood friends type AU for Dimileth!
Thanks for the ask! I didn't think I had any plot ideas for this either, but then something went off in my brain and this got a bit long, so...under the cut it goes!
(Brevity is definitely not my strong point.)
I've seen this done in one of two flavors: Byleth being raised in the Kingdom for some reason, or the two of them meeting once as children and then recognizing each other during their first in-game meeting.
But consider a third option! Jeralt's band accepts a job for King Lambert. It's deemed too dangerous for Byleth (say she's about ten, which would make Dimitri about seven), so she stays behind in Fhirdiad with the innkeeper's family. They find her unnerving and she gets bored, so she sneaks into the castle and that's how she and Dimitri meet. They become secret friends while Jeralt is away, and Byleth gets particularly attached because Dimitri is her first real friend.
Meanwhile, Rhea comes to Fhirdiad for some church-related reason, and she's at the castle when Jeralt (with Byleth, who insisted on coming along in hopes of seeing Dimitri again) returns to collect his payment. Rhea offers him his old job (just like at the beginning of the game) and he reluctantly accepts and he and Byleth return with her to Garreg Mach. Byleth grows close with Rhea, Seteth and Flayn (when she gets there) and she trains to be both a teacher and a part time knight of Seiros. Rhea expresses a wish for Byleth to be her eventual successor.
Dimitri and Byleth maintain a regular correspondence until the Tragedy of Duscur. She hears about what happens to his family and for awhile, can't even get confirmation that he's alive, and her letters go unanswered. Turns out Rufus (or one of his goons) has been intercepting all of Dimitri's outside communications. Byleth eventually insists on going to Fhirdiad with or without permission. When she's refused entry to the castle, she forces her way in. (Nothing's going to keep her from her friend!)
I imagine a scenario where, once Byleth realizes Dimitri's situation at the castle, she arranges with Rhea and Jeralt to stay so Dimitri has someone else looking out for him. She and Dedue work in tandem to protect him, and she joins Dimitri when he suppresses the western rebellion (getting to meet Felix & Rodrigue in the process). I imagine Cornelia would probably try to scheme of some way to dispose of Byleth, possibly even figuring out what she is, but Byleth also gathers intel about her and starts helping Dimitri put the whole Duscur conspiracy together.
By the time Dimitri is sent the Officer's Academy, he and Byleth are AN ITEM, with Dedue's full approval (and a begrudging approval from Felix, since he saw her skills during the rebellion as well as the stabilizing presence she has on 'the boar;' Rodrigue is fully supportive). She isn't allowed to teach the Blue Lions for this reason, though she holds seminars that they're allowed to join, so she gets to befriend them all. She and Dimitri at least try to be subtle about their romance, but everyone pretty much knows they'll be getting married after the school year. Jeralt's not terribly enthused about it. Rhea's mostly on board, though she still wants Byleth to be her successor.
Wait...wait...I got it! Byleth teaches the Black Eagles and Edelgard tries to convince her to join her side, and Byleth plays along with it so she can gather more intel about Duscur! She gets wise to Edelgard's plans and the war gets stopped before it even begins!

I have decided to join Rodweek 2023 and here is my day 1.
Small note: I made these borders for all days. So you can see which one if for Rodweek and which one isn't
It's Rodrigue and his second wife Eva. There is a small story about how they met and such:
They met two years before the tragedy. Eva, the daughter of a minor noble family was loved by her people and even taught the children of her home how to read, write and even fight. One day a group of bandits attacked her home, burning everything they could find, while she was teaching the last group of children. With the help of the local priest, Eva managed to bring five children she was with to safety, but they had to run. It was pure luck to be found by soldiers from Fraldarius. Eva, meeting Rodrigue requested for him to at least allow the children to stay, as they had no home. Rodrigue helped her to find homes for the children, offering Eva a home too. They grew closer over time, especially with small Felix growing close to her. The closer they grew, the more they fell for one another until they started to date. Two month before the tragedy, the same group of bandits who attacked her home, attacked Fraldarius territory and kidnapping Eva.
Eva, was being held captive for half a year, before she managed to escape, but was knocked out by one of the bandits. She was lucky, to be close to monastery grounds and was found by one of the knights. No one knew exactly who she was, as her house wasn't really big, nor did it really try to gain influence or gain power between other noble houses. Eva woke up around a year before the games story, but without memories. Not knowing who she was, besides her name, Eva started to work at the officers academy, mainly taking care of the training grounds and it's weapons.
She gains her memories back close to begin of the story, panicking over the things she remembered. How she left behind the ones she loves and how she felt like she couldn't just march up his doors after so long.
They meat each other the day Rodrigue shows up. He was looking for Felix at the training grounds, as someone told him he usually can be found there. It was a big surprise for both of them. Eva had to explain herself, and she did. She was lucky enough that he believed her, the archbishop herself would be able to validate everything. With Rodrigue still believing he could find her, even just to know she was alive and Eva having finally explained herself, both of them promised to stay with one another, Eva promising to return to him after Felix graduated, so she could watch over him.
When the war broke out, Felix was able to escape with Eva in tow, returning earlier than they had planed.
They married not even a year into the war and their daughter Irina Eustacia Fraldarius was born around a year later.

Hi, if it’s okay to ask, what are your thoughts on what’s going on between Lambert and Patricia? Especially considering what’s said in Dimitri and Hapi’s supports
Hm hm hm , this one is definitely a doozy — 🤔
Tbh… I definitely feel their relationship was in some way? Genuine? Not like, true love kinda genuine — it’s more so along the lines of ‘two lost people finding solace in one another’ because I do think at some point, they both cared for one another, especially in the beginning of their relationship. Especially on account with Patricia. But even Rodrigue pointed out in Hopes , that even he wasn’t sure if it was love between them — but it was something. It was enough for them to marry at the very least.
And concerning the things with Hapi and what information Hopes actually gave us— I feel like those small feelings of affection towards one another became gradually one-sided on Lambert’s side. Because Cornelia so often interfered between their relationship and kept Patricia separated from Lambert ( so she could probably be easier to manipulate) and I think Patricia definitely hid things from Lambert too — and wasn’t entirely honest with him, with and without Cornelia’s influence. He probably knew she had been the former consort of Ionius but I don’t think he knew she had a daughter ( after all, Edelgrad didn’t know her mother had fled to the Kingdom either and even when she was there — she was never made aware, otherwise her uncle may have mentioned it and she probably would have too, cuz what child wouldn’t want to see their mother? ) Cornelia probably twisted it in some way later down the line— making seem that Lambert knew and that he was purposefully keeping Anselma away from her daughter, and gradually Anselma began to believe her. ( which also seems to be the conclusion a lot of people in the fandom seem to make too — Intsys did a bad job in keeping the lore together and a lot of misunderstandings happened )
Which is probably why Patricia/Anselma seemed to have no issue in helping arrange Lambert and Dimitri’s assassination later down the line. Do I think she lived long enough to regret it? who can say really — but part of me feels she did regret it at some point but it was too late and she died with those regrets.
I want to take Dimitri’s recounts of their relationship with a grain of salt — in some way it was almost rose tinted because he’s never had a mother in his life, and Anselma being the only female presence in his life and my guess is he wanted to remember his time with her with some fondness despite the reality, and I felt his opinion on it, especially pre-time skip — shouldn’t really be given a lot of credence. Because chances are, he wasn’t privy to a lot of what was going on in the bg, and I’m sure his father wouldn’t want him to worry about such grown up things. What parent doesn’t keep pressing matters away from their children? ( let’s not forget Dimitri only found out Edelgard being his step-sister AFTER she left and AFTER Duscur I believe, so he wouldn’t have been able to get answers from anyone regardless )
Hm hm much to think about methinks
#maybe Patricia/Anselma did love Lambert at one point#and maybe even loved Dimitri as her own#but because of her circumstances and because of Cornelia#it ended up how it did#hm hm#it’s probably also why I’m not privy to fics that have Patricia and Lambert married#idk it feels odd to me#like yay for sibling shenanigans for Edelgard and Dimitri#but hm :(#:: koko speaking!#fe3h#fire emblem three houses#fire emblem#hcs#lambert egitte blaiddyd#dimitri alexandre blaiddyd#anselma von arundel

Ok I had to do some digging on my local county tax assessors site for personal reasons, went down a rabbit hole, and long story short, Kaylee Rodrigues’s name isn’t on her and Jonathan Hill’s house. He bought it right before the wedding, do you think he’ll add her to it later? I don’t know much about homeownership but all the other fundies I looked up (exception brittany dawn who was single when she bought her house) had both people listed on the purchase. It seems weird to me?? They were less than a month out from being married
I don’t know much about houses or how owning one even really works but, I’d assume from what I know about fundies that it might be that Kaylee is going to be a 100% Stay at home wife/mom and they don’t want her to be potentially responsible for payments? Or Jonathan did it that way to “prove” he alone can provide for Kaylee and future kids. It could also just boil down to another form of control fundie husbands have over their wives.

What do you think jrod would do if any of her sons decided they wanted to enlist in the military? I don’t think any of them would make it past basic training but I was procrastinating my homework and started wondering why we don’t see more fundies pushing for military service given how much they preach about American values. I know we’ve seen law enforcement, pilots, and politicians between the Duggars and Bates families but do they draw the line at the armed services for some reason?
it's a really good question tbh, they love to do pseudo-military stuff, like part-time police, or ALERT, but never actual service. i've read a few ideas about why fundies don't join the military over the years and one of the main consensuses seems to be that, despite people thinking of most branches of the military as pretty conservative, for a fundamentalist of the IBLP flavor it really would be a much more progressive environment than they're used to.....women could be in their chain of command, for example, or they might have to tolerate working with someone LGBTQ.
another common theory that i think really holds water is that it doesn't really jive with their idea of authority, which for IBLP flavored fundies goes 1. God 2. Parents 3. Husband 4. Wife (kind of), so there's not much room to shoehorn in the United States government. for like, the Duggars or the Rodrigueses especially, they really hold onto that idea that your father is still your authority even after you're married with kids. so i think for parents who are operating at that level of control freak, it would be difficult to hand over "control" of your kid to the government because once you do so, said kid will essentially have government-sanctioned authority to disobey you. i can't picture someone like Jim Bob or David/Jill giving up their puppet master positions, since it's kind of the whole reason they had kids in the first place.
ultimately though i think the main reason is, they're all giant hypocrites who do not really practice what they preach lol. they never shut up about how they loooooove America and veterans, yet they never participate in what they see as "defending" America and "freedom" etc etc. and yes I agree, a Rodrigues boy would not last one day in a training camp.

My mom just told me I’m most likely not my father’s child. Mom had an affair and got pregnant with me and the guy eventually went to a different state and had kids with a different lady and the new kid had epilepsy like me. Like wtf, I’m fuckin 30, this guy could be dead by now. Why tell me?? Also there is still a chance my dad is still my bio dad.
My most likely bio dad is named Juan Jose Cedilla Rodrigues. He illegally immigrated into the United States, had a affair with my mom in California, then went to Texas and had about 2-3 children with a different lady before my mom stopped contact with him. He’d be around 55 now if he’s alive.
I’m wondering if I should genetic test against my big brother to see if our dads are the same or just tell my dad everything and genetic test against dad. I know my dad told me he had around 20 affairs back when he was lawyer. But I never knew my mom had affairs too.
This all started because when I came home from the hospital the doctors wrote me off as Hispanic/Latino on my discharge paperwork. I’m like, hey mom look they said I’m Latino! And that’s when she finally told me.
Like?? My dad is still my dad even if he’s not my bio dad. He loves me a ton. Just kinda weird I spent a year alone with him in the middle of the desert then. Also it would double the amount of siblings I have. I just wonder how I can kick off this process without the whole family knowing. My brother is chill and would keep it under wraps but still, wtf would I even do if it turns out to be true?? I guess I could just move on as normal.
Mom wrote me a note with all the info she knows on the guy. He married some woman named Almay. Man, and I thought I was old enough to NOT get any more surprises god was like, YALL READY FOR THIS?!
