meeting the fam
drew starkey x latina actress reader!
the parents
Drewâs parents were in Charleston for the weekend, visiting him at the set of the show for the last few shooting days before wrapping season one.
They had kindly invited you all out to dinner to finally meet Drewâs friends.
He was so excited you were finally meeting part of his family.
Everyone who knew Drew knew how much he loved and cared for them.
So getting to finally meet them was exciting and nerve wracking at the same time.
Madelyn, Chase, Rudy, Madison, JD, Austin and you had finally arrived at the restaurant, where Drew and his parents were already waiting for you all in a table near the back of the place.
A little Italian restaurant in downtown Charleston.
Was there a more perfect place than that?
The moment his parents saw you all approaching, they stood up embracing you all in tight hugs and lovely greetings, Drew standing on the side smiling widely.
You walked to his mom as you offered her a big smile.
âHi, IâmâŠâ you said looking at her excitedly.
She made a happy high pitch sound as she looked at you, pulling you in for a hug.
âYou must be y/n!â she said giving you the biggest bear hug. âOh my God, youâre so much beautiful in personâ she said as she pulled back to look at you with bright eyes.
You blushed at her comment.
âYouâre too niceâŠâ you paused with a smile, not sure if you should address her by her name or if that would be too impersonal.
She smiles as she gives your arms a little warm squeeze.
âYou can call me Jodi dearâ she smiles at you as she hugs you one more time before letting you go.
You move on to greet his dad, Todd, introducing yourself as well, making little small talk as you all settle yourselves on the table ready to order.
The night goes on smoothly, filled with laughs and anecdotes of baby Drew, courtesy of his lovely parents.
You were all having too much fun hearing his embarrassing baby stories and juicy teenage drama.
As the dinner went on with chatter, pasta and wine, you couldnât help but smile at how happy and at ease Drew looked around his parents.
It made your heart warm.
Before you all left after having spent a wonderful night together, you approached his parents to wish them a good night.
âIt was lovely meeting you twoâ you say smiling up at them. âI had so much fun, and now I know where Drew got his sense of humorâ.
Todd laughs at your comment as Jodi hugs you.
âIt was so nice meeting you too dearâ she says as she leans back smiling at you. âWe hope you can visit us back home soon, youâre welcome anytimeâ she looks at you and then at the rest of your friends. âYouâre all welcomeâ.
You blush at her words, feeling their love and affection.
âThank you so muchâ you say smiling at her. âYouâre more than welcome at home back in Mexico whenever you wantâ you smile sweetly at them as you eye Drew smirking from behind them.
Jodi hugs you one last time before letting you go.
âWe might take you up on that offerâ she says laughing looking at Todd.
Everyone bids their goodbyes before Drew approaches you as you all walk out of the restaurant.
âYour parents are amazingâ You say as you give him a smile.
She shrugs cockily as he looks at you.
âWhat can I say?â He says smirking at you. âThey did raise a pretty cool kidâ.
You laugh at him as you hit him playfully.
âA pretty humble oneâ you say sarcastically with a smile.
He laughs softly, throwing his head back and looking at you again.
âThey really loved youâ he says, looking attentively at you. âAll of youâ he lets out, his gaze never leaving yours.
You blush at his words.
The night had gone as perfect as youâd imagined.
the siblings
This was not how you imagined your morning starting.
The night before had been quite successful, if you could call it that.
Madelyn and Drew had invited you all over to their place, for a typical drinking night at their place.
So you all had gathered there to drink and chat, as usual.
But things might have gone a bit overboard than usual.
You had a few free days from filming, so you all took that and rolled with it, not caring about anything besides having fun all together.
And thatâs how, that morning, you woke up with a headache and no phone at your place.
You had no idea how you had gotten to your apartment and tucked yourself in bed. You tried to remember but your mind was hazy and blurry.
And as you tried to find your phone, it was nowhere to be seen.
Thatâs how you ended up going down in the elevator to Maddieâs and Drewâs floor.
You prayed your phone was somewhere in their place, cause if not, youâd be cooked.
On your way down, you cringed as you caught the reflection of yourself in the elevator mirror. This was not your best look.
Your hair was messy tied in a low bun, and you were wearing a big oversized t-shirt with the obx logo, and underneath, some very small sleeping shorts that were invisible under your big tee and sleepers.
Yeah, you were not beating the hungover allegations.
As the doors of the elevator opened, you walked to their apartment as you knocked on their door.
You closed your eyes as your head throbbed a little, you just wanted to find your phone, and go back up to your place to drink a gallon of water and maybe take some aspirin.
And then you thought, where they still hungover and asleep? You hadnât even taken a second to wonder that maybe you would be waking them up.
In all honesty, you didnât even know what time it was.
But just then, you heard footsteps coming from inside the apartment and the door being opened.
Revealing a man with an unknown but familiar face at the same time.
Were you at the wrong floor?
This was too much for you and your brain in this state.
You squinted your eyes a little as you looked at the man in front of you. You looked from him to the apartment number, wondering if you had messed up. As you opened your mouth to speak his eyes narrowed as he looked at you.
âCan I helpâŠâ his eyes went from squinting to surprised. âYouâre y/n!â he said smiling at you, looking happy and surprised. âIâm Logan, Drewâs brother.
You blink while looking at him.
He was Drewâs brother.
Now you remember. He had said his siblings were coming to stay with him for a few days to spend the break with him.
Oh dear God. You had totally forgotten.
And now you were standing in the door, in front one of his siblings, in pijamas and hungover.
Worst first impression ever.
âOh my god, hi!â You say, accidentally sounding a bit too excited than you intended. âItâs so nice to meet youâ you smile, clearing your throat, feeling too embarrassed to think of something else to say.
He laughs softly at you, and before you can say anything else, another voice from behind echoes.
âLogan, whoâs that?â A girl with brow hair pops up from behind him while looking at you.
You wished the earth could swallow you whole.
âHi, Iâm y/nâ you say smiling anxiously at her.
Your appearance definitely was not giving you any confidence at the moment.
âOh my Godâ she says smiling at you while shoving his brother aside. âYouâre the y/n!â she says excitedly while approaching you. âIâve been wanting to meet you for so longâ she finishes as she pulls you for a hug. âIâm Brookeâ.
The only thing you could do was return the hug while laughing nervously.
âCome in, weâre making breakfastâ Logan says as he invites you in, closing the door behind you.
You really didnât wanna be there in that moment.
Like, it was lovely meeting them, they seemed like the sweetest persons ever, but, you were feeling sticky, nauseous and embarrassed that they had to meet you like this.
Just your luck.
âOh thank you so much, butâŠâ you were interrupted as a girl with blonde hair walked out the kitchen.
She paused her steps looking at you.
âMackayla, youâre not gonna believe this, sheâs y/n!â Brooke said to her sister, as she side hugged you.
You smile at her softly while waving at her.
Her eyes brighten while she smiles at you.
âOh my God!â she says excitedly. âDrew didnât tell us you were coming, we wouldâve cooked something better than pancakesâ she smiles at you.
God how you wished you couldâve showered before coming down.
âNo, please donât worry!â you say a little too fast, looking at them, causing them to eye you with a confused look. âI really donât wanna interrupt your breakfastâ you say smiling at them embarrassed.
This was the worst situation ever.
Or thatâs what you thought.
Because as you finished talking, Drew came walking down the hall, shirtless, with only some sleeping shorts and a towel on his hand while he dried his hair.
âWhat are you guys bickering about?â he says walking to his siblings before he stops and notices you.
You look at him while giving him an awkward smile.
His eyes open a bit too much in surprise.
âHiâ you mumble out sheepishly. âI just came by to see if I had left my phone hereâ you say blushing a little at the attention. âCannot find it anywhereâ you say moving your hands, showing them how theyâre empty.
God you were being pathetic.
Was this how animals at the zoo felt?
âUh yeah yeahâ he blinks at you. âI was gonna bring it up to you laterâ he says walking to the couch, picking it up and handing it to you.
You take it from him while sighing in relief.
âThank you so muchâ you say as you hug your phone dramatically. âI was panickingâ you say laughing while looking at his siblings.
They all looked between you and Drew smiling.
You cleared your throat.
âI should get going nowâ you say smiling softly at them. âIt was really nice meeting youâ you say, feeling way embarrassed as each second passed.
Mackayla shaked her head looking at you.
âPlease stay, weâd love for you to join us!â she says smiling at you hopeful.
âI really donât wanna imposeâ you say giving them a sheepish smile, before Brooke shrugs and shakes her head.
âNone of that! Maddie will join us tooâ she smiles at you.
Drew lets out a chuckle.
âIf she wakes upâ he says laughing softly.
In that moment, Maddie walks out of her room towards the bathroom, stopping herself to give Drew a humorless look.
âI am wakeâ she says before hiding herself in the bathroom.
You all burst into soft laughter before you can feel all their eyes on you once again.
Your cheeks heat in embarrassment.
âGive me 5 minutes to shower and Iâll be down with a brand new box of cookies from home I have in my placeâ you say giving them a smile.
They all laugh while youâre already walking out the door.
âDeal!â Logan laughs as they all see the door close behind you.
You run up to you place, chugging an aspirin and getting into the shower to get yourself looking decent and to try and fix your first impression on Drewâs siblings.
Down at his place, theyâre finishing setting the table and cooking breakfast.
âSheâs cuteâ Mackayla says as she gives Drew a look.
He laughs softly under his breath looking at her suspiciously.
âYeah, she can pull that hangover look, not everyone can, itâs hardâ Logan lets out before Drew smacks him playfully in the head.
He groans while his sisters laugh at him.
âShe seems funny tooâ Brooke says walking to them. âThatâs a good quality to have you knowâ she lets out while looking at Drew.
He rolls his eyes at his siblings comments, trying to act nonchalant.
âDonât be weird around herâ he lets out, smiling at the memory of you at his apartment in your disheveled look.
How were you able to make the best impressions even having just woken up?

Hey Mae! How are you, lovely?
Congrats on 8K! You deserve it đ«¶
Can I request a hot cocoa with poly!wolfstar and the fuzzy socks prompt, pretty please?
Thanks and I hope you have a good day/night!
Thank you angel! And thanks to Elle for the inspiration for this haha (ie Sirius being a menace) :)
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader ⥠364 words
âStay away from me,â you warn, while Sirius advances with a menacing grin and an outstretched hand.Â
He shuffles his new socks on the carpet, building static electricity.Â
âSirius,â Remus chides halfheartedly as he tries to find a decent film for you all to watch, âyouâre a wizard. You can make zaps whenever you want.âÂ
âOh, come on, Moony. Iâd think youâd be happy Iâm taking an interest in muggle science.â He touches you on your knee, and you yelp at the shock, batting him away. Sirius grins in amazement.Â
âNot very advanced science,â you mutter.Â
He winks. âWe all have to start somewhere, babe. Moons, you could try too, since weâre matching.âÂ
He reaches over to tickle the bottom of Remusâ own fuzzy sock. Your boyfriend nearly jumps, pulling his feet back onto the couch like heâs been shocked, too.
âWe arenât matching,â he says firmly.Â
âNo, but nearly. Mine are a much nicer color.âÂ
You smile as Remus rolls his eyes. By buying the boys almost-matching pairs of fuzzy socks after you found how much you liked your own, youâd inadvertently furthered Siriusâ years-long agenda of trying to get Remus (and now you) to match outfits with him. Despite your taller boyfriendâs grumblings, though, you know heâs really enjoying the socks as well as you and Sirius are (well, possibly none of you are enjoying them as much as Sirius). Remusâ are a darkish, forest green, Siriusâ are red (only because theyâd been out of black, but he seems to have interpreted this as some sort of competition between his color and Remusâ), and yours are a pretty blue.Â
âI told you, I only picked green because it goes so well with his jumpers,â you say.Â
âI think itâs very nice, dovey.â Remus pulls you closer, tucking you up against his side. âSirius, settle down. Weâre going to watch Itâs a Wonderful Life.â
âUgh,â Sirius groans, but he flops down on the couch beside you, never liking to be left out of a cuddle. When he cozies up to you, though, his knee brushes yours, and you both gasp as he shocks you. âFuckâsorry, doll. How do I turn this shit off?â

I can agree with everything in this post, but I also want to say that while the term Narcissist and ASPD are being thrown around too much for my liking. Let us also not dismiss those that have loved ones and/or suffered abuse under these disorders. Sometimes, "The Shitty Asshole" as the OP puts it, is actually these personality disorders. I understand that it is a very common response to trauma and that some criteria of the DSM need to change. However, that doesn't have to invalidate those that have the disorder and those who suffered from loved one or people they know with the disorder(most often times the person is undiagnosed, but I think many of you get it).
Look, I am all for giving people a chance to manage their condition and change, but a lot of the times with these personality disorders, they do not see anything wrong with them. The current psychology model is to figure out how the disorders are distressing to the individual, that does not really work if the person does not see anything wrong with them(esp. in extreme cases). A lot of the times, people with these disorders go to therapy due to something else, like addiction, depression, divorce or relationship issues and anger management. So, they get treated for those things, but still have problems, which causes the therapist to look deeper. Now the people with these disorders(not all), will try to outwit and outfox the therapist or person treating them. They also might do, what we psychologist call "Therapy Hopping", because the moment you try to figure them out or get deeper into the trauma, they might end with that therapist and find another one.
Basically, this is a very difficult disorder to treat and we should be trying to encourage people to seek help. However, you also have to come to terms with the idea that that person can get help(provided they have the resources too), not get it or even consider it and still treat you like a "shitty asshole". And that is ok. It is okay to want what is best for this person and empathize with them to a point, but also be like "you were a piece of shit and ass to me and I do not own you anything".
Now, it is a little different when you treating someone obviously, but that is whole different issue.
Signed -
Someone who has taken a brunch of Psych classes as a Psych Minor and is Applying to Clinical Psych Doctorate Program. Who also happens to have a serve Malignant Narcissistic Father (who also has ASPD and PPD) and suffered his abuse, as well as the abuse he put on the family for the first 22 years of my life. By the way, he was undiagnosed and did not consider therapy at all due to a variety of reasons(not because he could not do so). Yes he was a "Shitty Asshole", Yes I asked him to go to therapy and encouraged seeking help. Those two things can exist at the same time.
Also before any of you come at me, just know I had access to the DSM and observed my father for 2 years before coming to these conclusions as we taught the power of labels as psychologist or in general.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk and I hope you all have an amazing day!
Being an asshole is not in the DSM. Not everyone you hate is mentally ill and not everyone who does bad things is mentally ill either.
The DSM is a highly flawed and politicized way to define mental health disabilities that I have a lot of personal gripes with, but even THEY don't have "Shitty Asshole Disease" as a mental illness.

heey!! i know this ask is kind of "basic" (?), but how u think the main arcane characters would act when jealous?
hope ur having an amazing day! đđ
Hey! Not a basic ask at all! Iâm so happy you asked about it! Hereâs how I think each of the main characters would act when theyâre jealous:
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Jinx
When Jinx is jealous, itâs explosive. Sheâs fiery and impulsive, so if she sees someone giving you attention she feels should be hers, sheâll act out in her usual chaotic manner. You might find her stealing you away from the conversation or making snarky comments about the other person. Sometimes, she might do something drasticâlike creating a distraction to get all eyes on her, just to pull the attention back to you both.
Her jealousy comes from a deep place of fearâfear of being left behind, fear of losing you. After sheâs had a moment to cool down, she might feel guilty and try to apologize, likely with an overly affectionate gesture like hugging you too tightly or showering you with small, quirky gifts.
Vi
Viâs jealousy is a little more reserved but still pretty obvious. Sheâll start to get more protective and territorial, maybe by giving the other person a cold look or stepping in between you and anyone she feels is getting too close. Vi tends to bottle up her emotions until they boil over, so you might catch her being more snappy or distant if she feels threatened.
She doesnât like to show weakness, but if sheâs jealous, sheâll likely show it through her actions: touching your arm more often or pulling you into her space to remind everyone who you belong to. Once the tension passes, sheâll probably pull you aside and let you know, in her own way, that you mean the world to her.
Sevika
Sevikaâs jealousy is subtle but intense. Sheâs the type to not raise her voice but to make her presence known. If someone is getting too close to you, sheâll give them a cold, calculating look that could freeze anyone in their tracks. Sevikaâs jealous side is about controlâshe wants to make sure no one thinks they can take you from her.
Sheâll often keep a closer eye on you, standing next to you, her hand brushing yours just to mark her territory. While she doesnât usually show it outwardly, her jealousy can be felt in her sharp gaze or the slightly tense way she holds herself around others.
Silco
Silcoâs jealousy is all about power dynamics. He wonât throw tantrums or act out, but heâll certainly make it known that youâre his. If another person seems to be encroaching on his territory, he might lean in a little too close to you, making sure they see the way you belong to him. Silco will subtly remind you of his control, perhaps with a quiet comment or a possessive gesture that lets everyone know where his claim lies.
Silcoâs jealousy is more calculating. He may play it cool on the outside, but inside, heâs stewing. You might notice him becoming quieter and more intense, his usual charm replaced by a steely, possessive edge when the other person is around.
Vander
Vanderâs jealousy is quiet but deep. Heâs protective by nature, and when he feels someone is paying attention to you, heâll subtly step in, putting himself between you and the other person, though he might do so without saying a word. He has this quiet, brooding aura when heâs jealous, but he doesnât let it consume him like some of the others.
Vander might not show his jealousy openly, but youâll feel the subtle shift in the way he treats you. More hand-on-your-back gestures, longer gazes, and moments where he just wants to be closer to you. Itâs his way of reassuring himselfâand youâthat youâre his.
Ekko
Ekkoâs jealousy is playful at first, but you can tell when it starts to bother him. Heâs usually laid-back, but when someone starts flirting with you or paying too much attention to you, heâll try to act casual about it. He might throw out a teasing comment or two, or heâll subtly remind you of his presence by getting a little closer to you. His jealousy is less about being possessive and more about wanting your attention back on him.
If Ekkoâs really feeling jealous, he might act a bit pouty, rolling his eyes when someone flirts with you or trying to distract you with his own charm. His jealousy is wrapped in humor, but thereâs definitely a layer of seriousness underneath.
Jayce
Jayceâs jealousy is a mix of insecurity and pride. Heâs used to being admired, and when he sees someone else getting your attention, his ego takes a hit. He wonât confront the person directly, but youâll definitely notice him getting more competitive or assertive. Jayce might try to impress you more than usual, showing off his intellect or skills to remind you of what he has to offer.
He might also get a little possessive, subtly pulling you into his space or touching you more often to show the other person that youâre with him. His jealousy makes him a little more vulnerable, but itâs wrapped up in a need to prove himself to you.
Viktor
Viktorâs jealousy is quiet but sharp. Heâs usually more reserved, and he doesnât like to show his emotions much. However, when heâs jealous, his calm demeanor shifts slightly. You might notice him giving cold stares or becoming a bit more distant with the other person. Viktorâs jealousy comes from a place of fearâhe doesnât want to lose you, and it makes him protective, though in a subtle, intellectual way.
He wonât make a scene, but you might notice that heâs paying more attention to you, giving you small tokens or compliments to make sure you know how much you mean to him. His jealousy is all about reassurance, both for himself and for you.
Caitlyn
Caitlynâs jealousy is quiet, but itâs also straightforward. If she feels someone is giving you more attention than she should, sheâll get a little snappy. Sheâs usually so calm and controlled, but her jealousy shows through in the way she gets defensive of you. She might wrap her arm around you possessively or pull you closer to her side, making sure the other person knows where her loyalties lie.
Sheâll try to be subtle about it, but youâll notice the little hintsâlike her narrowed gaze or the way she holds you a little tighter than usual. Caitlynâs jealousy comes from her desire to protect you and keep you close, though she wonât admit it easily.
Mel Medarda
Melâs jealousy is calculated. Sheâs used to being in control, and when she sees someone getting close to you, sheâll start playing the game of power, making sure they know sheâs the one in charge. Sheâll likely become a little colder toward you, testing your loyalty without directly confronting the situation. Melâs jealousy is more about dominance and ensuring that no one can take whatâs hers.
You might notice her becoming more distant, though in reality, sheâs just observing the situation carefully and making sure she keeps your attention focused on her.
Ambessa Medarda
Ambessaâs jealousy is regal but possessive. Sheâs a woman who knows her worth, and when someone steps into her territory, sheâll let it be known. Ambessa is likely to make a grand gesture to remind everyoneâincluding youâthat you belong to her. Her jealousy manifests in subtle but forceful ways, like ordering someone away or giving you a pointed look that says, âDonât forget where you stand.â
Her jealousy comes from her prideâshe expects loyalty and respect, and when thatâs threatened, she responds with power and authority.
Maddie Nolen
Maddieâs jealousy is direct and fierce. Sheâs not afraid to speak her mind, so if she sees someone getting too close to you, sheâll let them know without hesitation. Maddie wonât be shy about pulling you away from someone else, using her body language and sharp words to assert that sheâs the one who belongs by your side.
Her jealousy is rooted in a deep desire to protect and hold onto the person she loves. While she may seem cold or intimidating when sheâs jealous, itâs simply because sheâs fiercely protective of you.
Lest
Lestâs jealousy is quiet but intense. She doesnât like to show it, but if sheâs feeling possessive or threatened, sheâll subtly change her behavior toward you. Lest might get more clingy or affectionate in public, giving you more touches and attention than usual to remind the others that youâre hers. Sheâll become more possessive of your time, subtly pushing others away without confrontation.
Sheâs not one for confrontation, but her jealousy comes out in small, quiet ways, often through the way she touches you or holds your attention.

Hi can you please try to do Paige x reader wife. Where in they both want to have kids so they do IVF and after a year of trying reader is finally pregnant and Paige is so thrilled. Also, can it please be like first trim, second trim, and last trim until she gives birth? I hope you try this one out please. Thank you so much! And I just want to say how I love your witting!đ©·
beginning
paige bueckers x reader
warnings:none, this will be the start of my new paige family series! feel free to drop ideas in my inbox. hope this is ok for you, i can into more detail if youâd like!
the first time you see the positive pregnancy test, you donât believe it. after months of negative results, doctorsâ appointments, and so many nights spent comforting each other when it felt like nothing was working, it doesnât feel real.
but it is.
you call paige into the bathroom, your hands trembling as you hold the stick. âpaige,â you whisper, your voice breaking.
she looks at you, confused for a second, before her eyes fall on the test. when she sees the two pink lines, her face lights up like youâve never seen before.
âoh my god,â she breathes, taking the test from your hands and staring at it, her lips curving into a shaky smile.
âitâs happening,â you whisper, tears spilling down your cheeks.
paige pulls you into a tight hug, burying her face in your neck. âweâre having a baby,â she murmurs, her voice thick with emotion.
the first trimester is a mix of excitement and nerves. paige is constantly hovering, making sure youâre eating enough, resting enough, and not lifting anything heavier than a pillow.
âbabe, i can carry the groceries,â you laugh one afternoon as she insists on hauling every single bag into the house.
ânot a chance,â she replies, grinning. âour babyâs in there, and iâm not taking any risks.â
she spends hours reading parenting books, bookmarking baby names on her phone, and talking to your growing belly even when itâs too early for the baby to hear.
âhi, little one,â she whispers one night, her hand resting gently on your stomach as you lie in bed. âitâs me, your mama. i canât wait to meet you.â
you canât help but fall more in love with her every day.
by the second trimester, your bump has started to show, and paige is obsessed.
âlook at you,â she says one morning, her hands gently cupping your belly as you get dressed. âyouâre glowing.â
âiâm sweating,â you reply, rolling your eyes, but her grin is contagious.
she goes with you to every doctorâs appointment, holding your hand during the ultrasounds and tearing up when you hear the babyâs heartbeat for the first time.
âthatâs our baby,â she whispers, her voice full of wonder.
she also becomes extremely protective. when a random person at the grocery store tries to touch your belly, paige steps in with a polite but firm, âplease donât.â
âyouâre like a guard dog,â you tease later, and she shrugs, unapologetic.
âiâm just taking care of my girls,â she says, pressing a kiss to your temple.
the third trimester is harder. your back aches, your feet are swollen, and youâre more exhausted than ever. but paige is there for you through it all, rubbing your feet at night, running out to get your weird cravings, and reminding you how beautiful you are even when you donât feel like it.
âyouâre amazing,â she says one night as she helps you settle into bed, her hand resting on your belly. âi donât know how youâre doing this.â
âbecause i have you,â you reply, your heart swelling as she leans down to kiss you softly.
sheâs the one who sets up the nursery, carefully assembling the crib and decorating the walls with soft colors and tiny basketball decals.
âour kidâs going to be a baller,â she says proudly, and you laugh, knowing sheâs probably right.
when the contractions finally start, paige is a mix of nerves and excitement. she holds your hand the entire time, whispering words of encouragement and brushing your hair out of your face.
âyouâre doing so good, baby,â she murmurs, her voice steady even though you can see the tears in her eyes. âiâm so proud of you.â

Outgrowing Supergirl
A/N: The finale I deserved, tbh (Also on AO3)
Cat's voice kept repeating in Kara's head since Alex and Kelly's wedding.
'Ker-rah, you need to stop making excuses, and you need to decide what your course will be. Now, there is important work to be done, and I hope you'll join me. But more than that, I hope that you will choose to become your full self, because that would really be something to see. And it would be interesting because this is boring.'
Boring.
Her life had been torn to pieces a few times over, with destruction and missing on half the happenings of her own life because she was busy saving the world⊠the universe, and Cat Grant categorized it as boring.
Kara laughed to herself. She didn't know the half of it. And yet, her reluctant mentor also had some encouraging words.
'I believe in you, I always have.'
She had offered an Editor-In-Chief position.
One position she wasn't entirely sure she deserved, but as Alex said, 'That was her dream job.' Not one she expected to get, so soon. It was one she expected for when her superheroing had dwindled, and she was well into her human midlife. When her birth-date would say she was in her late forties, and she had to pretend she followed some strict regimen to look as good as she did, because the yellow sun wouldn't really let her age that much.
Her own words, also bounced in her head.
'I give speeches inspiring people to live their best lives. But she's right. I am too afraid to live my own.'
'My entire life, I've hid behind these glasses. It's gotten in the way of every job I've ever had, everything I've ever wanted to do, every relationship.'
'I think hiding who I am is the reason I couldn't pass the courage Gauntlet. I created Supergirl that night because the thought of saving my sister as myself was too terrifying.'
At that precise moment, she did thought that. but in the days since her sister's wedding, she could ponder long and wide over it. That may have been the totem's argument. But the totem didn't know about her safety. All the times people knowing her identity, put them in danger.
The totem didn't live Jeremiah having to surrender himself to work for the D.E.O to protect her. The totem didn't know about the D.E.O recruiting her sister out of college, because she was an alien. The totem didn't know about Max Lord trying to date her sister just to try and uncover Supergirl's identity. Or Rick Malverne keeping Alex hostage, so Supergirl would do his bidding. Or Haley finding out her identity, and use it to manipulate her sister and herself.
The totem didn't understand Lex Luthor capturing her niece in exchange for more power.
Or Agent Liberty kidnapping Lena to force her to reveal her identity.
That didn't happen in this reality, but it did happened to her. And she caved, of course she did. But it was dangerous. Too dangerous.
Lena's words constantly swam in her mind too, 'You've had your entire life, people telling you who you're supposed to be and that if you didn't hide your true self then the people would get hurt. I mean, it's tough to move beyond those type of core wounds.'
"It wasn't until Lillian told me the truth that I realized I haven't been living my own life. And finally, now I am. And it feels amazing." She had said, as they walked together, one next to the other.
"I don't even know what that would feel like for me. Connecting with someone as my whole self. To not be afraid to just be who I am.." Kara confessed. "It sounds like it could be empowering," Lena encouraged her.
It wasn't until days later, that she realized she'd lied to her best friend.
They were both sitting in her couch, watching The Great British Baking Show. Kara didn't even remember which season they were on.
"Are you even paying attention to the TV?" Lena asked, like reading her mind.
"No, not really," Kara sincerely admitted."I was thinking about what we talked at the wedding. About living my own life."
Lena turned to look at her instead of the TV, "You took of your glasses."
"I did. But I don't think that's the correct move for me," Kara confessed.
"Then, what is it?"
Kara sighed, "I'll accept the Editor-In-Chief job."
"You seem awfully conflicted for someone accepting her dream job," Lena frowned.
"I just need to convince Cat Grant to accept my conditions."
"Ah," Lena let out. "I see." She looked at her with a smile. "If anyone can convince her of anything, is you."
Kara was mesmerized by her. She thought about how much their life has changed, since they met. How miserable she was when Lena wasn't in her life. How unhappy she was when she had to run away from her, a lie in her lips. And how much better it was now that she knew the truth and was a willing participant of her life as a superhero.
She didn't realized she had done it, get so close to Lena she'd just had to lean in a few inches to touch her lips to hers.
"I lied at the wedding, too." Kara whispered.
"Lied about what?" Lena asked, in an equally low mumble.
"That I didn't know how it felt connecting with someone as my whole self," Kara explained. "I do know. I've always done it with you, even without the obvious. But especially in the last year." Kara paused. "And I think⊠I think you are more than my best friend."
Lena didn't move, she kept looking into Kara's eyes looking for something, and it seemingly she found it. "And what are you going to do about it?" She muttered.
"I'm going to kiss you, if that's okay with you," Kara said, finally closing the distance between their lips.
Kara could fly, and yet nothing had ever felt like kissing Lena.
"I got it," Lena announced, entering the loft.
Kara was nervous. She had managed to convince Cat Grant of it, but of course, her mentor and boss, couldn't let the dramatics go, and didn't let Kara even look at the cover of the magazine before sending it to print.
"You do look very good," her girlfriend said.
She was still over the moon about calling Lena her girlfriend, but not even that could squelch her nervousness. The kiss Lena gave her as a greeting did, though.
"Ready?" Lena asked.
"As ready as I can be."
Lena flipped the magazine in front of her, showing the cover to Kara. A picture of herself in her SuperSuit looked back at her.
'Supergirl is out, Superwoman is in.'
"She could have gone with a less cliched headline," Kara commented in a whisper.
"It's not that bad," Lena said, throwing her hands around Kara's neck, keeping her close. "But if I'm completely honest, you know Kara has always been my hero."

And I'm SO happy you're back, my lovely Wayne!! Of course, you decide to spoil me with this review the minute you dip back into this hellsite. đ
(yesss, and don't think I didn't see that chapter you dropped of Polaris! When I get back from my vacay I will be diving into that. I need to know what happens next with our favorite cowboy sheriff đ€ )
I'm very glad and grateful you made the time to start ESC! I had so much fun figuring out Russell Shaw and the Tracker cast -- especially with all them Deanisms. đ
Diving into the rest of your awesome comments below!! đ
First of, Professor Goldstein is a piece of work... đ I wouldn't blame her for spitting into his coffee every time he calls her sweetheart. But Russell, I see you. She's gonna be so annoyed with him đ
Oh he's a piece of something, all right. đ She could def pull a Rachel on his ass. And Russell...lmao, you already saw where he's heading with this. đ
Ooooh, another professor character paired with some rugged Mountain Man đ I'm addicted to those couples. She's all business up front, and he's all party in the back (seat of his Chevelle) đ€Ș
LOLL the way it didn't even occur to me when I was writing this (at first) that I was writing another professor paired with a law enforcement (sort of, in Russell's case), man of action type, like in Take Me Home with Beau Arlen. đ I came at it with the thought of, "what if she was Dory's best friend, and they worked together at the university?" I must have a thing for writing nerds who get the rugged, sexy Mountain Man. Not at all fulfilling a personal fantasy.
UGH. The nerve!!!!! Massage therapist????? How about I step on your back with my high heels, bro... And then to go on about his trip and parasailing... Guess it's true. Ignorant people are happier đ
Fuck YES, I'd be high-stepping up and down his spine fr. đ€Ł Ignorance is bliss, I guess? đ€·đœââïž
Or why are campuses so big in general? My university actually had several faculties strewn throughout the city. Sometimes it took an hour and several subway rides to get to your next lecture đ
Oooh my God, now THAT's crazy! A whole subway ride(s)?? I've worked/gone to school on some big campuses, but that takes the cake. I guess you get your daily workout one way or another lol!
Please tell me Russell's in the room when she said that đđ€
Big YEP lmfaoo, and he likes her already because of it. đ
Ooooh, right! I wonder how much she knows about the Shaws. Not something that comes casually up in the cafetaria I imagine đ
No it would not, lmfao! But that is something that will be explored (how much she knows) in the chapters to come, for sure!
Love this whole exchange. You're making my dreams come true, babe đ
Ahaha I had to do the little callback to sriracha fries (and figure out how tf to spell sriracha, first of all. đ)
I keep thinking he probably has that look now because he was in the army for so long. Young Russell was pretty much young Dean Winchester in a uniform (hello there, soldier đ)
Ooh that's SUCH a good point (and yumm). It's making me hope that we get a flashback of Russell in his military days someday in Tracker.
Well... It's a toss-up, I'd say đ
Oh, very much a toss up/personal preference there lmao. I've loved Justin Hartley since his Smallville days as Green Arrow. đ But in this case, I felt like Russell would try to claim top billing there loll.
In. His. Car đ©đ©đ©đ If any strange man said that to you... đ©đ€Ł
Honestly, it's amazing how many red flags you ignore when someone's charming and handsome. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Well, at least, Colter has an Airstream đ
đ€·ââïž
Ha!! True, it's beating out Russell's crusty motel of the week by far, I'd say.
He is a professional flirt. Kind eyes...
Oh don't worry, we're getting to that callback. đ
Dear God, he does not stop, does he? đ (On the show, I loved his persistence with Reenie too, even though it was mainly just to annoy Colter. But you captured him beautifully here with this sort of charm đ„°) PS: schmutz, schlep... I love the sprinkles of Yiddish in this đ€
In fact, he does not! lmfao That was what I loved about it too -- like maybe half of him is serious, and the other half just wants to needle Colter. đ€Ł
Aw I'm glad you caught that! lol I'm not Jewish, but for some reason it just felt right for these characters. đ
STOP IT! And he upgraded too!!! đ€Ł
He absolutely did!! And this time, it actually worked! đ€Łđ€Ł
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS! Gah, this was fabulous! I'm hooked! đđ Are they gonna stay casual? Something about her brooding and reluctance tells me it's not usually her style? Which means, will he eventually settle? Get out of the dangerous hitman-nomad life?
Ooh my goodness, I'm so glad to hear that, friend! You're right. I don't think I full on state it, but "casual" is typically not her style. Also, Russell is Dory's brother, so she doesn't want there to be any weirdness or awkwardness between them if something happened or fell out between the reader and Russell.
She already knows his relationship with Dory is kind of fragile, in that they're still in that "reconnecting" phase. You'll see more of that dynamic and her thoughts in Part 2, but the rest of your questions will most definitely be explored throughout this little series. đ
And then there's the stories about their respective families. We already know some about Russell's. How is she gonna react if she learns everything? And there's something odd about her private life as well. Can't wait to dive into that bombshell đ
There's a lot to unpack there, right? There's a great deal that she already knows through Dory, and some things that are going to be revealed along the way...
Zep, my sweet genius Alex, you've outdone yourself once again. Bravo!!! đđđ
You make me blush!! Thank you so much. đđ„° If you like this chapter, then I think you're going to enjoy the rest of the series. I hope it's as fun for you to read as it was for me to write!! đđ
A Line and a Half
Pairing: Russell Shaw x F. Reader
Summary: When Doryâs eldest brother comes to visit her at Wyoming University, you donât know quite what to make of Russell Shaw. But he knows exactly what he wants to make of you.
AN: Okay, hereâs my first toe-dip into the world of Tracker with Russell Shaw! 1x12 gave me too many ideas not to explore this intriguing character. This is set before episode 12, but I have a little series I want to sketch out that will continue after this one-shot, so think of this as a âPart 1,â if you will. đ
Word Count: 3.2K
Tags/Warnings: A kind of âmeet cute,â attempts at flirting, and hints of setup for more to comeâŠ
You watched, silently simmering, as Dr. Goldstein added yet another packet of internship applications from his graduate students onto your desk.
Applicants that he, as the History Department Chairman, was supposed to review himself. Instead, heâd been adding these hours quite literally onto your desk.Â
âIf you could review these for me as well, sweetheart. Thank you,â he said. âGet âem back to me by Thursday, okay?â
As a Professor of History with two doctorates in your name, you once again grated internally at sweetheart, but you tried to keep that cringe off your face as well.
Goldstein barely even met your eyes when he dropped off his burden, and then aimed to leave your office.
âUh, Paul,â you called out, raising a finger. You stood from your desk as quickly as you could in your pencil skirt, but the man was already out the door. You followed him out, your heels clacking on the tile floor.Â
Damn it. Knew I shouldâve gone with pants, you said, continuing to hasten after your boss.
âPaul! Just a second,â you said. That finally managed to turn the manâs head off of his phone. He glanced at you while checking his watch.
âAbout the internship applicationsâŠand your midterm exam essays for that matter. Donât you thinkââ you started to say, but the man spoke over you.
âIâm sorry, Iâve got to run. Meeting my massage therapist at noon,â he said, and rolled a seemingly stiff shoulder under his tailored blazer. âSomethingâs just not right here after my trip to Cali last weekend. I donât know what I did, pulled muscle or something. But hey, they do say parasailing is a sport.â
You quirked a brow. âDo they?â
You werenât sure that being strapped into a parachute for a nice air glide over the Pacific counted as a sport.
Goldstein shrugged at your question and he kept walking down the hall. Though he turned back to toss you a pointed finger.
âNeed those by Thursday. Thanks, youâre the best,â he said.
You watched him go, as proverbial steam began to escape through your ears. Slowly you pivoted on your heels, and you went back to your office. You grimaced at the large stack of applications. You were pretty sure he padded them with an extra section of midterm exams.
Tapping your nails on your desk, you grabbed your phone next to your desktop and checked the time. 11:30 a.m.
Screw it. Iâm going to lunch, you thought.
Dory had to be out of her Intro Physics class by now, which meant sheâd be in her office, ready for you to drop in on her a little early. You took up your purse and almost made it out the doorâŠbut at the last moment, your anal brain made you turn back to grab a shoulder bag and the pile of applications. Maybe you could knock out a few during lunch.
Frigginâ doormat, as your brother would say. Laughing at you, probably.
You rolled your eyes and headed back out the door with your haul of papers, purse, work bag, and keys, locking your office behind you.
Why, oh why did the Sciences building have to be on the other side of campus?
It was damn near a mile walk from your Humanities building over to Doryâs office on the second floor. Your hands were laden with packets that couldnât be contained by your heavy work bag, your purse was slipping off your shoulder, and these heels were killing your feet.
It was a miracle you and Dory had ever met on this campus. On your first day of teaching, youâd of course been hopelessly lost. Somehow you ended up at the tail-end of one of her classes in one of the science auditoriums.
Sheâd been gracious enough to help you, and even walked you all the way to the Humanities building so you could find your World History class before the students decided to just get up and leave. (And after fifteen minutes, they very well would.)
That day, she became your first real friend at Wyoming University. In the three years since, sheâd become your best friend.
And now, her door was mercifully open halfway. You pushed it open and stumbled just a little from the transition of tile to carpet inside her office. Your papers nearly flew from your hands, so you struggled to right yourself and contain them all back into the semblance of neatness.
âHey, girl. You better be ready for lunch because Jesus fucking Christ. Goldsteinâs up my ass again and all Iâve had today is a crusty donut from the teacherâs lounge, which Iâm pretty sure was stale,â you said, with your brows furrowed in frustration.
When you finally looked up from your struggles, you realized that Dory wasnât alone. She smiled at you in amusement, sitting at her desk beside a man who made you pause. Your eyes widened.
He was leaning casually with an elbow propped up on her desk, dressed in jeans and a worn, pale green jacketâa good match for his eyes. He looked a little rugged for Doryâs tastes, but you couldnât fault her, with the cut of that bearded jaw, and the smile raising the corners of his lips.
âHey,â Dory laughed. âI see youâre having a good day.â
You bit your lip in embarrassment, probably smudging your lipstick.
âIâm so sorry. I shouldâve knocked first,â you said, though you could see she seemed to be having an actual good day. Office picnic? Or maybe the handsome stranger was getting ready to take her out.
Dory just waved you in. She stood and set a hand on her companionâs shoulder, and he got up along with her.
âItâs okay. This is my brother, Russell,â she said, and she introduced you in kind.
âWell, hi there,â he said. He subtly took you in with his eyes as he held out his hand. Already you felt your face heating up with more than just embarrassment.
You were a bit shocked as well, to say the least. Dory had told you someâŠinteresting things about her family, including the fact that she had two older brothers. You wondered which one this was, the middle child, or the eldest.
âHi! Sorry. Again. Nice to meet you,â you said. You tried to hold your hand out to reach his, but a few papers began to spill out. You clutched at them on reflex, but Russell drew in quickly to help you.
âGot yourself a load there,â he said. You agreed with an awkward laugh and a shrug of your shoulders.
âMy bossâs idea of extra credit,â you said wryly.
âYou can set it down on that chair over there,â Dory said, pointing to one against the back wall, next to a tall filing cabinet.
You and Russell meandered over and managed to set down the stack without casualty. You were able to pull up the straps of your bag and your purse from falling off your shoulder and give him a grateful look.
âThanks,â you said.
âNo problem,â he said, giving you an easy smile back. âI actually crashed in unannounced, so if you two wanna to head to lunch, you go right ahead.â
âUh, no. I havenât seen you in months! You should come with us,â Dory said. She grabbed her purse to join you and Russell by the door.
You raised your hands in placation. âOh, I wouldnât want to intrude, especially if itâs been a while since youâve seen each other. You guys should catch up.â
Dory shook her head and grabbed your hand.
âUh, uh. I want to hear the latest on Paulâs bullshit, and why youâre carrying half your office across campus. Letâs go,â she said, and gestured at your work bag. âLeave that here. Youâre gonna eat and talk to me. No working involved.â
You laughed, but you agreed to her cajoling. With another glance at her brother, and those green eyes that seemed to be dancing, you joined them for lunch.
The three of you ended up at a diner that you and Dory frequented at least once a week. The food was good, the service was quick, and it was close to campus. Wins all around. Russell seemed to be enjoying himself, as he hummed in delight after the very first bite of his Philly cheesesteak.
âSriracha on fries, huh?â you remarked, gesturing at the manâs plate. Your brow was quirked, but he shot you a smile.
âI said avert your eyes,â he teased. âDonât knock it âtil you try it, sweetheart.â
Ugh. Another sweethearting man. You narrowed your own eyes at him a bit. He caught the look and raised a hand in defense (the one that wasnât holding his cheesesteak).
âUh oh. Whatâd I do?â he asked.
âYou gave her some PTSD,â Dory said with a laugh. âDr. Goldstein likes to sugar coat his demands with sexism.â
Russell noted your souring look with apology. Youâd just finished recounting your morning for your friend, and recapping years of âsugar-coated demandsâ for Russell.
âWhy donât you just tell him to cram it up hisâŠuhâŠâ he paused. Seeing his little sisterâs look of amusement, he amended. âOr you know, stuff it.â
A smile twitched at your lips. âOh, believe me, Iâd love to tell him to stuff it. But heâs technically my boss, and the department chair. Even though Iâve basically been doing his job for two years now.â
âWell, that sucks,â Russell said. âAnd I feel for ya. Iâve had my share of shitty bosses in my time.â
You sighed and accepted his commiseration with a nod.
It wasnât fair, but Goldstein planned to retire early in a few years. Must be nice.
When he did, it would make you the most likely candidate to replace him as department chair. The way you saw it, this was giving you plenty of practice before you (hopefully) inherited the position.
Anyway, you shook your head. You didnât want to talk about it anymore. You were more curious about one Russell Shaw. You now knew he was an army vet, and he carried himself like one. Calm, controlled, even though his smiles came easy. His tousled hair and beard, while well-trimmed and neat, still gave him a roguish quality.
âSo let me guess. YouâreâŠthe eldest?â you asked. You blotted at your mouth with a napkin, having finished your chicken panini.
Russell treated you to another one of those smiles, though this one held a hint of more.
âGuilty. Though Iâm the handsome one,â he said with a wink.
You found yourself smiling behind your napkin.
âIâm sure,â you replied.
Dory rolled her eyes. âDonât mind him. Apparently my brotherâs an incorrigible flirt.â
He chuckled and sipped at his beer, but then he grimaced.
âEch. Frigginâ weak,â he said. âI brew better than this outta the trunk of my car.â
You raised a brow at that. âYou make your own beer?â
âDamn straight,â he said. His gaze turned a hint more playful. âNext time Iâll bring you some. You can tell me what you think.â
You shared a telling look with Dory.
âNext time, huh?â you asked.
âSure,â he inclined his head. âI pop into town from time to time. Gotta check in and pester my little sister, the physics professor.âÂ
He laid a hand on Doryâs shoulder, squeezing warmly. You could see the pride in his eyes, and it warmed you as well.
She turned to him with a smile, reaching up to cover his hand with hers.
âYou donât pester me. Iâd love it if I got to see you more often,â she said.
âAh, I know, Iâm sorry,â he said, releasing her. âMy jobâs got me all over the place. But Iâll be here for a week or so on this gig.â
That intrigued you. âWhat do you do for work?â
âAh, well, you could say I'm a contractor. Private security mainly,â said Russell. His shoulders shifted as he became a little more guarded, you noticed. âMy company connects me with the client for as long as the job lasts. Could be a few months, sometimes a few days, depending.â
âOh, wow. Do you live here in Wyoming?â you asked. He paused, but tilted his head a little, back and forth as he considered your question.
âI kinda bounce around,â he said. âJust go from one job to the next. Sounds a bit unorthodox, I know, but itâs a living.â
âInteresting,â you nodded, but inside, you thought that sounded like a hard way to live.
UnstableâŠand lonely.Â
âYou know, itâs amazing how much you and Colter have in common,â Dory said. She folded her hands on the table and met her brother with a pointed look.
He huffed in response, though he glanced at you, then back at his sister. As if he was saying, You really want to do this now?
Dory had told you before that Colter was a ârewardist,â or some kind of bounty hunter. The nature of his work kept him busy, and seemingly too busy for his sister. But you also sensed there was an edgier history here.
For the first time, you felt like you were intruding in a moment between brother and sister that went beyond words.
After a moment, Russell shook his head.
âLook, I tried with him, all right? He wonât talk to me,â he said. He went back to eating, polishing off his fries. He offered you one that was half-smothered in sriracha.
âCome on. Live on the edge with me,â he teased.
You eyed the sauce-covered fry in distaste, but after glancing up at his more playful smile, you accepted his offer. You chewed in contemplation, and found that the tangy hint of kick wasnât so bad.Â
âEh? Eeeh? Delicious, am I right?â he said, his hands going wide.
You rolled your eyes, but you nodded in agreement.
âItâs all right,â you replied.
âYes!â Russellâs hands swept up higher, like he was celebrating a touchdown. "See, I told ya."
You couldnât help but laugh. Dory shook her head fondly and gave him a clean napkin for the bit of schmutz she spotted at the corner of his mouth.
âHere, wipe your sriracha face.â
âYou really donât have to,â you said, as Russell helped you gather your stack of papers and slung your work bag over his shoulder.
âNo, no. Iâm a bonafide gentleman. Ainât that right, D?â he asked his sister. She barely resisted the urge to roll her eyes again, but she did give you a knowing smile.
âOh, his intentions are pure,â she said.
And by that, you both understood her meaning. His intentions couldnât be any clearer than a mallet over the head, but you kind of found it endearing.
This man really carried your stuff from the Sciences building across the entire campus to your office. All the while, he asked you about how you and Dory met, the kinds of things you two did together, and if you thought she was happy working here.
You had a feeling he was trying to learn more about his sisterâs life. On one hand, it was rather sweet. On the other, it made you realize that there was distance in this family, both literal and figurative. You were glad to hear that Russell, at least, was trying to bridge that gap with his sister. Dory deserved to have more of that in her life.
As you explained to Russell while you led him down the hall to your office, your friendship with her had justâŠclicked. From the very beginning.
âDory, you know. Sheâs more than kind,â you said. âSheâs a real one. I can rely on her, even when I canât rely on my own family.â
Russell hummed at that. âThat sounds like a story.â
âYeah,â you said, glancing away for a moment. You smiled and met his gaze once more. âMaybe one for another time.â
âSo youâre on board with a ânext time.â Good to know,â Russell remarked. Your smile deepened.
It was good timing when you two finally reached your office. You unlocked it and let him inside, so he could set down your bag, and the god-forsaken stack of internship applications back onto your desk. Youâd probably be stuck here working late on those.
âWell, thank you so much. You really didnât have to schlep for me,â you said.
When you turned, Russell was a bit close. Not uncomfortably so, but enough to make a trill of something zip up your spine. You smelled more intensely his cologne, woodsy and warm. Looking up at him, you once again found his smile.
âItâs no problem,â he said, but his eyes met yours for a moment, as if he lost his train of thought.
âWhat?â you asked, a bit nervous.
âAnybody ever tell you, you got soulful eyes?â he asked.
It took your brain a second or two to compute, but when his words registered, you had to laugh. You held it behind your hand, while the other went to steady yourself on your desk.
âWell, thatâs a line if Iâve ever heard one,â you said, shading your âsoulfulâ eyes with a hand.
You didnât know it, but Russellâs face warmed in slight embarrassment. He recovered though, taking in your pretty laugh, and the shade of your hair, let loose around your shoulders, and yes, your eyes, when you let him see them again.
If he hadnât known before, now he was convinced.
He wanted to see more of you before he left town.
âHey, now that was 100% genuine,â Russell said, but his grin spoke volumes. When your mirth died down, he scratched the back of his head.
âOkay, cards on the table. Would you be interested in grabbing a drink with me sometime?â he asked.
You took in a breath at that. You actually did consider his offer, because homebrew and sriracha fries be damned, there was something more to him. It was lying in wait, behind those eyes that were drawing you in.
However, this was also a man whose job basically made him a nomad. It didnât exactly scream relationship material.
Which only left the alternative: somethingâŠcasual.
You just didnât know if that alternative was such a good idea. Not with your best friendâs brother.
âJust a drink. No frills, no more grilling you about my sister,â Russell said, breaking you from your deliberation. He gestured a hand between the two of you. âJust this. You and me.â
Eventually, you sighed. Your lips raised into a more genuine smile.
âSometime, huh?â you asked.
He smiled back. âTonight?â
You hesitated, but despite your better judgment, you nodded before you could change your mind. You still werenât sure what to make of this guy, but you were willing to find out.
âSure,â you said. âHowleyâs at eight?â
âWell, all right,â Russell said.
He surprised you by sweeping up your hand into his. You looked up at him, curious, but not wary. Anticipation tingled down your spine.
He pressed his lips to the back of your hand. Soft shock made your eyes widen as you blushed, feeling the subtle graze of his beard against your skin.
Who is this guy, Cary Grant? you thought.
But when he pulled away, you had to remind yourself to breathe. Again, you caught sight of his cheeky grin.  Â
âSee you tonight,â he said.

Let me know if you guys liked this! đ It's my first time writing a character based solely on one episode, but next up is a series that will continue this one-shot. It's called Every Second Counts.

âAre you absolutely sure?â you asked, with your hands on your hips.Â
You wanted no miscommunication here, no read-between-the-lines mishaps, no subtext or nuance to bite you in the ass later. So here you stood in the middle of your best friendâs office, still on the Wyoming University campus after your last class.
Dory had to laugh at you. She pushed away from her desk and threw her hands up.
âYes, for the love of God, you can grab a drink with my brother,â she said.

hiiii Êâáą. .áąâÉ i just found your page this morning and read through your entire masterlist and i loveeee your writing! is it possible to get royal poly!marauders at a ball or something and they catch sight of the reader (can be whatever role you wanna give them) and they are like 'damn'
Hello hello~!!!
First of all, thank you so much for patiently waiting for me to get to your request. Life has been pretty hectic on my end, so writing had to take a back seat for a little while. But today, I finally had some time to sit down and write!
Now, let me just sayâ this idea is absolutely amazing! Iâm completely in love with royal and historical AUs, so thereâs a good chance Iâll revisit this concept and or turn it into a series of drabbles. (Not that Iâm particularly skilled at keeping things short!!!)
I really hope you enjoy my take on your idea đ
edit: I got a bit carried away-

The night after the neighboring kingdomâs delegation arrives, the Griffyn Kingdom buzzes with anticipation. To honor their esteemed guestsâ especially the visiting princess âthe King and Queen have announced a grand ball. This celebration is more than an act of hospitality; it is a shining declaration of unity, a glittering prelude to alliances and promises that will shape their shared future.
You find yourself standing in Princess Lilyâs chambers, the soft glow of candlelight casting flickering shadows against the ornate walls.
Before you, Lily examines herself in a floor-length mirror, her emerald-green gown a masterpiece of silk and embroidery. You and Mary fuss over the gathered fabric at her hips, smoothing it into place with careful precision.
âI can manage the rest,â Lily murmurs, her voice gentle but decisive. She steps away, gliding toward the gilded jewelry box on her dressing table. Its lid is open, revealing an array of jewels she brought for the journeyâ diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires glittering alongside an assortment of tiaras.
âYou two should get ready as well,â she adds, her tone as light as the shimmering necklace she picks up, its facets catching the firelight.
You pause, caught off guard. âWhat?â The word escapes before you can stop yourself.
Normally, Marlene would stand guard in her knightly uniform, Mary would accompany Lily throughout the event, and you would remain behindâ content to watch the festivities from a quiet corner of the castle, keeping a vigilant eye on the princessâs chambers.
âThereâs no need for that tonight,â Mary says, her voice warm with reassurance. She steps forward, deftly fastening the diamond necklace around Lilyâs neck. The glittering stones resting perfectly against the princessâs pale freckled skin. âWeâre on excellent terms with the Potters. No one here will mean us harm.â
The words hang in the air, both an assurance and an invitation. Tonight is different, you realize.Â
A diamond tiara rests atop Lilyâs head, its intricate design sparkling like a constellation of stars nestled in her fiery red locks. She adjusts it briefly, her reflection regal and resplendent. âYou rarely get a chance to enjoy yourself during visits like this,â she says softly, her tone kind but firm. âGo on, get ready.â
You nod, a small smile playing on your lips, touched by Lilyâs thoughtfulness. Her generosity warms you in a way words could never fully express.
With her gentle urging, you retreat to your own room to prepare. A quick bath washes away the lingering weariness of the day, and you do your best to ready yourself for the night ahead.
Despite your efforts, a sense of inadequacy lingers.Â
For such grand occasions, itâs expected that the lady's maids and companions are impeccably dressed, each carrying at least one formal gown for travels like these.Â
You do have such a dressâ a blush colored piece gifted to you by your mother when you first joined the palace as Lilyâs ladyâs maid.
The fabric clings just a little too tightly at the waist, its once flawless seams now strained from years of careful reuse. The soft blush color, though elegant, has faded slightly with time, its original vibrancy dulled by repeated wear. The bodice is adorned with modest embroideryâ delicate vines and blossoms stitched in pale gold thread that catches the light just enough to hint at refinement. The skirt, while gracefully cut, feels heavier than you remember, its weight pulling at your movements as if to remind you of the weight of high society.
It was the best your family could afford when you first came to the palaceâ a gift from your mother, its fabric chosen to honor both simplicity and a touch of nobility. Back then, it had been a symbol of hope, a token of pride for a baronessâs daughter stepping into the royal household.Â
Now, however, standing before the mirror, you canât help but feel its inadequacy in the face of tonightâs grandeur.
Even so, you smooth the skirt with steady hands, letting your fingers trace the faint ridges of the embroidery. This night, you remind yourself, is not about the richness of your gown, but the confidence you bring and the memories you make.Â
Perfection may elude you, but presenceâyour presenceâis more than enough.
When you step back into Lilyâs chambers, itâs clear everyone is ready to go. Lily, as expected, looks effortlessly regal in her emerald green dress, the rich color complementing her fiery red hair that cascades down her back in elegant waves. Mary, ever composed, is radiant in a soft yellow gown that perfectly flatters her figure, her dark hair neatly arranged in a low bun at the nape of her neck.
âYou look darling,â Lily murmurs, stepping forward to gently brush a stray lock of hair from your forehead. Her touch is as light as her tone, her emerald eyes warm with affection.
You roll your eyes playfully, unable to suppress a grin. âSays the actual goddess standing before me.â
âTruly,â Mary chimes in, her voice sweet as she adjusts the clasp of your necklace, ensuring it sits perfectly centered. âYouâll be the belle of the ball.â
Before you can protest their kind words, a knock at the door interrupts the moment. Marlene peeks her head in, her light blonde hair swept back into a tidy low ponytail. âLadies,â she announces with a bright grin, âitâs time to head down.â
Excitement ripples through the room as the eveningâs promise beckons.
_____
You werenât quite sure what to do once you stepped onto the crowded ballroom floor. Back home, state balls were familiar territory, their routines and customs etched into your memory. But here, in a foreign kingdom, uncertainty clouded your thoughts.Â
Was the etiquette the same?Â
Would it be seen as rude to linger by the walls, content to watch the swirl of color and movement before you?
Must you be drawn into the heart of the celebration?
Apparently so.
You stand near one of the grand marble pillars circling the ballroom, the cool stone a comforting anchor amidst the overwhelming splendor. A glass of white wine rests in your hand, a half-hearted shield against your unease. From the corner of your eye, you notice movementâa man approaching with easy confidence. His dark hair is tied into a loose, messy bun, strands slipping free to frame his sharp features. His attire marks him as a knight of the Griffyn Kingdom, though the smirk curling at his lips carries a roguish charm and confidence uncommon in most knights youâve met.
âYou must be part of the delegation,â he says, his voice smooth, his smirk deepening as his gray eyes fix on yours.
You hesitate, biting back the urge to fidget. Heâs handsome, undeniably so, but you canât quite place why heâs chosen to speak to you. With a soft sigh, you nod. âI am.â
âI thought so,â he replies, a playful lilt to his tone. âI remember seeing you earlier, standing just behind the little princess. So, why arenât you out there, dancing?â He gestures toward the center of the room, where couples spin and sway beneath glittering chandeliers.
âIâm not particularly fond of dancing,â you say, your voice quieter than intended. Itâs not entirely true, but you hope the excuse is convincing enough to deter him.
âNonsense,â he says with a laugh, his hand extending toward you. âAnyone can see you want to. Prove me wrong, if youâd like.â
The invitation lingers between you, daring yet strangely kind.
You hesitate for just a moment, glancing at the glass in your hand before setting it down on the corner of the nearest table. Then, with a small breath of resolve, you place your hand in his. âDonât get mad if my heels end up on your toes,â you quip, a touch of nervousness slipping into your tone.
âTrust me, Iâm quite nimble. Dodging danger is part of the job,â he replies with an easy smirk, already guiding you toward the dance floor with a confidence that leaves little room for argument.
Normally, you might have countered with a quick remark of your own, but your mind is too distracted. The pounding of your heart fills your ears, drowning out coherent thought.
The lull in the music amplifies every other soundâthe clack of your heels against the polished marble, the low hum of whispered voices as heads turn to watch you pass. The weight of their gazes burns into your skin, and your hands tremble slightly as the knight clears a path through the crowd, his presence commanding in a way that both unsettles and reassures you.
Other couples filter onto the dance floor as the musicians shuffle their sheet music, preparing for the next song. The murmurs of the room settle, anticipation hanging in the air.
âWell,â you manage, your voice soft as you cling to anything that might distract you from the dozens of eyes still following your every move, âit seems youâre rather popular.â
âWhat can I say?â he responds, a teasing lilt in his voice. âI am rather handsome.â The smirk that accompanies his words is maddeningly self-assured.
Before you can respond, his hand presses gently against the middle of your back, drawing you closer. His other hand takes yours in a firm yet careful clasp, guiding you into the proper frame with a natural grace that makes it seem effortless. You barely notice the band striking the first notes of the song, your attention fixed on the storm gray eyes studying you with something close to intrigue.
You set your hand clumsily on his shoulder, your fingers brushing the smooth fabric of his maroon jacket. He doesnât seem to mind your hesitation, his movements assured and steady as he begins to lead you through a simple waltz.
To your relief, the steps come naturally, your body quickly attuning to the rhythm of the music and the gentle guidance of his lead.
âWhatâs your name?â he asks, his voice soft, nearly lost beneath the rising swell of the orchestra.
You glance up at him, your voice barely above a whisper as you give your name.
âA beautiful name for a beautiful lady,â he replies smoothly, his lips curving into a charming smile paired with a wink that, despite yourself, pulls a smile to your face.
âAnd you?â you counter, a touch of playfulness creeping into your tone. âWho might this oh-so-charming knight be standing before me?â
His eyes glint with amusement, their gray depths catching the light like polished steel. âSirius,â he says simply, the name rolling off his tongue with a quiet confidence.
You nod thoughtfully, letting the music and his lead guide you effortlessly across the floor. âAn attention grabbing star for an attention grabbing knight,â you muse aloud, a small smirk tugging at your lips. âSeems fitting, I suppose.â
His laugh is low and warm, the sound wrapping around you like the melody. âWell, I do strive to live up to my name.â
âI doubt you have any trouble with that,â you say, a soft smile playing on your lips as you hold his gaze.
The music begins to fade, the elegant notes giving way to the quiet hum of conversations around you. As the dance slows to a stop, you take a small step back, though his presence still lingers like the warmth of the ballroomâs golden glow.
âSo much for not being a dancer,â he teases, his smirk as effortless as the steps he led you through.
You turn to him, unable to suppress your grin. âMaybe you were just that good of a lead,â you say sweetly, your voice light with sincerity. But before he can respond, you catch sight of Mary and Lily across the room.
âI ought to check in on my lady,â you add, inclining your head slightly. âThank you for the dance, Sir Siriusââ
âSirius,â he interrupts gently, his tone almost playful. âJust Sirius is fine.â
You nod, your smile softening as you take a small step back. âFine, then. Thank you for the dance, Sirius. It was... unexpected, but I truly enjoyed it.â
With a final glance, you turn and make your way toward Mary and Lily, weaving through the gathered crowd. The warmth of his hand on yours still lingers faintly, and his name echoes in your thoughts like the fading strains of the musicâ a memory you suspect will stay with you far longer than the evening itself.
_____
James and Remus stepped out of the nearest sitting room, the faint hum of ballroom music echoing down the corridor. Remus, ever meticulous, adjusted Jamesâs slightly askew collar, his fingers deftly hiding the newly formed love bites that marked the princeâs neckâevidence of their brief but heated absence.
âWe need to get back before anyone notices,â James murmured, his voice low but tinged with amusement as he fixed his tousled hair.
Remus smirked. âWeâre already late. Letâs hope Sirius hasnât set the place on fire in our absence.â
But as they approached the ballroomâs grand entrance, what they saw made both men falter. There, on the dancefloor, Sirius Black was leading a woman in a waltz.
The sight itself was striking. Her blush colored dress stood out in gentle contrast against the bold, jewel toned gowns of the others swirling around her. The simplicity of her attire only seemed to magnify her elegance, and for once, Sirius appeared utterly focused, his usual roguishness tempered by something softer.
âSirius never asks a woman to dance,â a sharp voice cut through the hum of the crowd. James and Remus glanced toward a cluster of women, their faces half hidden behind delicate feathered fans. The speaker, a haughty looking noblewoman, tilted her head knowingly, her words drawing murmurs of agreement from those around her.
Remusâs brows knit together. Sirius was notorious for politely but firmly declining the endless stream of invitations to dance he received at events like these. Yet, watching him now, Remus found he could understand why Sirius had sought out this particular partner.
She was... radiant.
âWell, isnât she a sight to see,â James murmured, his voice just low enough for Remus to hear.
Remus nodded, his hazel eyes tracking the womanâs graceful movements. âIf Iâm not mistaken, sheâs one of Princess Lilyâs ladyâs maids,â he said, his tone thoughtful.
Jamesâs eyes widened slightly in recognition, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. âIs that so?â he drawled, the spark of an idea lighting his gaze.
Remus sighed, already sensing trouble. âWhat are you thinking, James?â
The princeâs grin only grew. âI think,â he said, âwe should pay a visit to the princess. Seems like her ladyâs maid could use some... royal introductions.â
_____
After reuniting with a gushing Mary and Lily, a server approaches, bowing their head politely before handing you a fresh glass of wine. You thank them quietly, though you canât help but find their deference a little peculiar. Still, you accept the drink, shifting your attention back to the princess as she launches into a spirited account of your performance on the dance floor.
âYou looked absolutely stunning out there,â Lily exclaims, her cheeks slightly flushed from the excitement of the eveningâor perhaps the wine.
âSheâs right,â Mary agrees with a hum, a bright smile lighting her face. âEveryone was watching. You two were the talk of the room.â
Both women had taken their turns dancing with high-ranking gentlemen throughout the night. Suitors vying for the honor of even a single waltz. Yet, they seemed convinced that your dance was the highlight.
âHeâs quite a talented dancer for a knight,â Mary observes, taking a sip from her own glass.
You nod, a small smile tugging at your lips. âI figured heâd be good, considering how confident he seemed. But he led me effortlessly. I barely had to think about the steps.â
âWell,â Lily interjects with a soft laugh, her hand fluttering to her lips as though trying to stifle her amusement, âthatâs hardly surprising. Heâs a noble, after all.â
âWhat?â Both you and Mary turn to her in confusion, the notion catching you both off guard. Nobles rarely became knights, considering the station beneath them. Sirius hardly seemed the exception, yet here you were.
âHeâs the son of Duchess Black,â Lily explains with a slight grimace, lowering her voice. âHer sons are far more tolerable than she ever will be.â
âLily!â Mary scolds, her eyes darting around to ensure no one overheard the princessâs blunt critique. Fortunately, the surrounding hum of conversation seemed to swallow the comment whole.
âBut...â you trail off, your brows furrowing as you ask. âDid you not just dance with the heir to the duchy?â
âThat would be my younger brother,â a smooth, familiar voice cuts into the conversation, making you turn sharply.
Sirius stands behind you, his easy smirk firmly in place, though thereâs a glimmer of amusement in his gray eyes. Heat rushes to your cheeks, and you instinctively dip your head in greeting, murmuring, âSir Sirius.â
âSirius,â he corrects lightly, his gaze softening as it lingers on you.
âSirius,â you murmur, correcting yourself softly.
His smirk softens into something warmer. âYou danced with Regulus, Your Highness?â
âLily,â the princess corrects, her tone mirroring his own.
Sirius chuckles, his attention shifting to her. âOf course, Lily. So, you danced with Reg?â
âAs I always do, Sirius,â she replies with a sigh, clearly anticipating where the conversation might lead. Her expression brightens, however, as her gaze lands beyond him. âOh, James, Remus! A pleasure to see you.â
Both Mary and you instinctively bow your heads, mirroring Lilyâs graceful greeting as two men approach.
âLeave the formalities for the elders,â James teases, waving his hand dismissively. âRaise your heads, ladies.â
James Potter is every bit the image of royalty, dressed in a pristine white suit adorned with a red sash. The high collar adds to his regal air, but itâs his confident posture and easy smile âso warm and almost boyishâthat truly captivate.
Beside him stands a tall, broad shouldered man with tousled brown hair. The scars that trace his skin catch your eye briefly before you hastily return your attention to the prince, unwilling to appear rude. Yet, the manâs hazel gaze, calm and piercing, seems to notice everything.
âAre you all enjoying the ball?â James asks, his voice warm and smooth as his signature smile graces his lips.
Lily answers first, her response polite and poised as ever. Her agreement prompts Mary and you to nod along.
âGlad to hear it,â James replies, his smile widening. âI know Sirius was enjoying himself not too long ago,â he adds with a teasing lilt, his hand clapping Sirius on the shoulder and lingering there in a way that seems deliberate.
âIt was one dance,â Sirius groans, tilting his head toward the prince in exasperation.
âOne dance more than usual,â Remus chimes in, his deep, steady voice carrying a hint of humor. His hazel eyes flicker to Sirius, glinting with quiet amusement as he observes his discomfort.
James turns his gaze to you, his teasing grin softening into something gentler. âHe didnât step on your toes, did he, my lady?â he asks, the mock solemnity of his tone bringing a smile to your lips.
You shake your head, your amusement showing clearly. âOf course not.â
James bursts into laughter, the sound rich and full, drawing a few curious glances from those nearby.
âHaving women cover for your clumsy footwork nowâ what a shame,â Remus adds, his tone dripping with mock disappointment as he shakes his head.
Sirius turns to you, lips curling into an exaggerated pout. âNow look what youâve done. Youâve egged them on.â
You shrug, a playful smile tugging at your lips. âNow, why would I do that, Sirius?â
âYouâre killing me, doll,â he groans dramatically, prompting laughter to ripple through the small group.
The conversation shifts back to something closer to polite, though the teasing undercurrent remains. Mary moves subtly closer to you, her hand brushing comfortingly over your back. Itâs then you notice the weight of the many gazes lingering on your group, a pressure you hadnât fully realized until now.
Your eyes lower to the polished marble floor as you focus on listening to James and Lilyâs easy banter, their words melding with the hum of the ballroom.
âYou alright?â Remusâs voice pulls your attention. He steps closer, his question soft, laced with genuine concern.
You nod lightly. âIt seems all of a sudden Iâve run out of energy,â you say, a polite fib. The truth is, this entire night has been draining, though you donât want him to think heâs dull company. âIâm not used to parties like this,â you add quickly to clarify.
Remusâs lips curve into a smile, his expression warm and understanding. âWe have lounges on the top floor for guests who need a break. Youâd be welcome to rest there if youâd like.â
You shake your head gently. âI really shouldnât, but thank you for the suggestionââ
âThatâs a great idea,â Lily interjects with an encouraging smile. âLetâs rest our feet for a while.â
âIâll let Marlene know weâre heading upstairs,â Mary offers before slipping away, likely toward one of the food tables where Marlene is undoubtedly stationed.
âWeâll escort you,â Sirius says smoothly, but Lily raises a hand, declining the offer with a polite smile.
âWeâll be fine on our own, but thank you,â she assures him.
âOf course,â James replies, bowing his head slightly.
Mary returns soon after, accompanied by Marlene, who carries a golden plate piled high with delicate finger foods.
âEnjoy your rest,â James says with a gracious nod, his tone sincere though his smile holds a trace of teasing warmth.
The women dip their heads in thanks before retreating upstairs to find a quiet lounge.
_____
As soon as theyâre out of earshot, James turns to Sirius with a mischievous smirk. âWell, wasnât she a sweetheart?â he asks, his teasing tone unmistakable.
âSheâs polite but knows how to hold her own. Iâd say youâve chosen well, Sirius,â Remus adds with an approving nod.
âIf you two hadnât left meââ Sirius starts, a hint of irritation coloring his words.
âWe did say you could join us,â James cuts in, raising his hand as if to defend himself.
âAnd you know damn well if all three of us disappeared, people would notice,â Sirius counters, arching an eyebrow.
James shrugs, entirely unbothered. âYour loss.â
âNot entirely,â Sirius says with a wolfish grin. âIt just means we can take our time later.â
âNo visible marks,â Remus warns, his voice carrying the weight of experience. âWeâll have guests for a while.â
Sirius rolls his eyes, his grin unwavering. âItâll be fineâitâs never stopped us before.â
Remus sighs, his lips twitching upward despite himself. âFair enough.â

Little morning - Life after Hogwarts
synopsis ⧠Being a parent wasn't exactly easy and Sebastian found that out the hard way after the birth of his first son--who was now two-years-old and they were also expecting another. But regardless, he loved being a father. But the biggest problem with having a pregnant wife? A little toddler who just so happens to be a big mummy's boy that tries to wake her up at any chance he gets.
tags ⧠Fluff, tooth-rotting fluff, like so much fluff you guys. Talks of pregnancy and babies (ofc), toddlers (thats a warning in itself haha), marriage, just all the domestic cutesy stuff we all love. .
word count ⧠1.6k
a/n ⧠Just some random cute idea I got and I have been ITCHING to write Seb and Matty as parents. You've probably seen my other posts about their kids when they are older but I really wanted to do some of the younger stuff as well because the baby fever is strong rn and I need a outlet LOL.đ„ș Hope you enjoy! xoxo
Sebastian Sallow severely underestimated how difficult being a parent would be and just how much sleep he would lose by being one as well. Sure, he knew kids were difficult, and his wife had told him countless stories of the kids she had nannied or worked with who were difficult, but nothing couldâve prepared him for the real deal.
Little Eleazar was just past two years old by now, and yes, he was an abnormally well-behaved child; he still was a toddler, and wellâtoddlers did toddler things.
But despite the lack of sleep, the rough days, and the struggle of learning how to be a first-time parent, it was all worth it. They loved their little boy, and they loved him just the way he was.
And apparently it was âso worthâ it enough that Matty was now pregnant with their second child. Or at least in Sebastianâs words, it was âso worthâ having another. Matty had always wanted a couple of children, so she was up for having a second, but Sebastian was definitely the one who pushed the idea to have another.
Hence why she was now seven months pregnant and dealing with a toddler. But thankfully, Sebastian was a very hands-on and involved dad, and it made it all so much easier. He was an amazing husband and father. (She couldnât lie and say that wasnât the reason why she considered a second.)
It was nearing seven am when Sebastian, who was half asleep, heard the little pitter-patter of footsteps nearing the bedroom door. They had moved Ele into a different room a couple of months ago so he could get used to sleeping without Mum and Dad, especially once the new baby was around. But almost every morning, like clockwork, he managed to climb out of his crib and sneak off to Mum and Dad's room.
Sebastian, immediately knowing who it was, sat up and rubbed his eyes. The little footsteps stopped right at the door, which meant the door needed to be opened. Eleazar wasnât quite tall enough to reach the door handle and turn it, so usually Sebastian would have to do it himself since he was the first one up.
He could practically hear his son pouting on the other side of the door, so he swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to wake up Matty, who was still peacefully sleeping.
He walked over to the door before opening it, looking down at his son. âWell, good morning,â he said, his voice still gravelly.
Eleazar quickly put his hands up, babbling a little to let his dad know that he wanted to be picked up. Sebastian leaned down and grabbed the little boy up in his arms. âYouâre two years old; you gotta start using your words, buddy.â He softly encouraged. But it seemed like Ele was too tired to speak anyway since he was rubbing his eyes the moment he was up in his father's arms.
Sebastian sat back down in bed, Eleazar placed in between him and Matty. âIf youâre going to be here, you gotta go back to sleep.â He said, trailing his knuckle against his son's chubby cheeks. Of course, he was only saying this to try and get more sleep himself, but when did toddlers ever listen to anybody?
Instead, Eleazar turned around, seeing that his mother was in bed. âMummy,â he babbled with a big smile, crawling over to where she was sleeping.
Sebastianâs heart almost jumped out of his chest as he had to quickly grab his son and pull him away from his mother in order for him not to wake her up. She definitely needed more sleep. âWait, wait, no, we canât go to Mummy right now, okay? Mummy is sleeping.â Sebastian tried to explain.
However, Eleazar did not like being told no. Especially when it came to his mummy. The corner of his lips curled down, forming a little frown, and by the way his little bottom lip quivered, Sebastian could quickly tell that he was going to start crying.
Panicking a little more, Sebastian quickly grabbed the little boy up in his arms. âHey, hey, it's okay.â He soothed. âWe just canât wake up Mummy right now; sheâs resting.â
He knew Eleazar couldnât understand a lick of what he was saying, but he hoped the tone of his voice would help calm him down. âMummy is very tired, and she has little brother or sister to deal with too, okay?â He continued. âI can assure you that definitely isnât easy.â He half mumbled under his breath with a chuckle. But that was more for his own amusement than an explanation.
Ele didnât cry, but he looked up at his father with his big blue eyes that he had inherited from his mother, a pout still on his face. âMummy.â He repeated, this time more determined.
Sebastian sighed, shifting to where he was now lying down with the child in his arms. âMummy is asleep. Which is what you should be doing right now too. Youâre still so young to be waking up this early.â
âNo.â
Sebastian sighed again. He hated the fact that usually one of the first five words for children was usually no. It was helpful when they could communicate what they wanted, but it also happened to become their favorite word very quickly. Saying no to everything mummy or daddy needed them to do.
âYes.â
âMm-hm.â Eleazar shook his head, clearly conveying that he was saying no.
âWhat am I going to do with you?â He chuckled, pinching his son's cheeks.
But luckily for the both of them, Matty shifted a little, signaling that she was indeed finally awake. Ele quickly looked behind him, seeing his mother begin to wake up. A big smile instantly appeared on his face, and he slipped out of his dad's arms and immediately crawled over to his mother. He was a big mummyâs boy and always wanted to be with her.
When Matty felt two little hands on her arms, she chuckled, opening her eyes. âGood morning, sweetheart,â she said sweetly, the sleep still obvious in her voice.
Eleazar immediately plopped his full body weight onto his mother, giving her a big hug. She laughed, giving him a hug back before sitting up. She looked over at Sebastian and then back down to her son. âSomething tells me youâve been giving your father a little bit of a hard time.â She said, poking her son's little tummy.
âIâll say,â Sebastian muttered. âLittle bugger tried to wake you up the moment he got into bed.â
Matty smiled. âHe just loves his mummy,â she cooed, shifting little Ele so she could have him comfortably against her.
Raising a toddler and being pregnant definitely wasnât easy, but to Matty, it was worth it in the long run. Not all mornings did she wake up as nicely as she did now, but these mornings definitely helped and made up for the bad days.
âWell, thank you for letting me sleep in a little longer.â She said to Sebastian before leaning in for a quick good morning kiss from him. Sebastian smiled into the kiss, enjoying the attention from his wife. Sometimes that was scarce between work and raising a baby, so he was always loving any attention he got from her.
Meanwhile, little Ele was looking at his mother's belly, still wondering what on earth was going on there. It started to frustrate him that he could no longer sit on his mummyâs lap, but he slightly understood the concept of having another new little sibling that was seemingly âin mummyâs tummyâ and that it was a baby.
Matty looked down and chuckled. âSay hi to the baby, Ele.â She urged.
Eleazar didnât say anything, but he did wave, thinking that his little brother or sister could see him do so. Matty giggled a little bit at her son's expression, and she leaned down to kiss him on the forehead. âIn just a little bit youâll have a new brother or sister, and itâs gonna be sooo fun,â she said.
âSleepless nights and screaming babies are an interesting thing to consider fun.â Sebastian joked sarcastically.
âRemind me whose idea it was to have a second?â Matty said, raising her brow at her husband. She knew he was just joking, but she did like to poke fun at him because, after all, it was his idea to have another baby once Eleazar was a little older.
âIt was mine, and Iâll totally own up to that.â He chuckled, pulling his wife close to him. âAnd I canât wait to have another. Anything from you is a complete blessing, and Iâm lucky to have you and our children.â
Matty smiled and leaned her head against his chest. She had married the right man, thatâs for sure. And boy did she love him.
âI hope itâs a girl,â Sebastian mumbled into her neck.
âDonât want another little boy?â She chuckled, looking at him with a raised brow.
Sebastian shrugged. âIâll be happy either way. I just want a healthy baby. But since we have a boy already, I think itâd be nice to have a sweet little girl. Beautiful and intelligent, just like her mother.â He said, giving Matty a little squeeze.
âAnd here I thought you wanted a little mini-you.â Matty said.
âOh trust me, I do.â Sebastian replied. âBut who's to say that a little girl canât be my mini-me? We can get into all sorts of trouble together.â
âMhm, right. Not on my watch.â Matty joked with a laugh.
âWorth a shot.â Sebastian grinned.
I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thank you so much for reading! đ„șâ€ïž

Ruben Dias x Wife Reader
Angst
Hi!!! I really don't know if i am doing a good job or not. I just said "Why not write fanfics?" and here i am. This is my first time and English is not my mother language so if there are mistakes, pardon me :) I hope you guys like it!!!! Feedbacks are welcomed đ„°
It was a hard week that you three had. Man City lost a game, you were dealing with a toddler and a backpain cause of the pregnancy. Teo, your son, was not helping, he is clinging into you every day. You just don't have any "me time"s. Your husband, Ruben, was also nervous and a little bit impatient for the next game. Because he wants to prove everyone he is still best, a game can't define his abilities and skills. That's why he was doing a double exercise everyday. He's the gym king, always was, always will be. But after you gave birth to your first child Teo, he made some changes in his routine for becoming a good father and a caring husband. And he is doing amazing. But as you said before, he was impatient for the next game. And when you said him he is being too concerned for it, his big brown eyes found yours with annoyance.
"What are you saying?"
"I am saying you are too anxious for the game. You should be more relax, you are exercising well eating well, you will be good. Remember? You are Ruben Dias. You did your part, its time to trust God." He laughed at your words like you said something silly. You looked at him with questioning eyes. But he returned to clean his game shoes, ignored your look.
You peeked a look to your son, you can see your son playing in the living room through the door, he was happy. And then you took a few steps to Ruben, he was in the hallway. You tapped his right shoulder a little bit harsh and said "Why are you laughing at me?"
And it made him angry. He got up furious from where he sit. He opened his mouth and then he probably remembered your son was to close to the hallway so he came closer to your face.
"Don't talk like you know so much about football" he muttered with his index finger pointing at you. You were in shock. You were 6 months pregnant, hormones walking over you like a flood, crying at everything, well, you were always a delicate person so this wasn't a big surprise.
"I know nothing?! Then talk to me! I know the past match making you uncomfortable but what i am saying is, you can do better and you will be. I just trust you and want you to trust yourself-"
"Y/n, no. No okay? You can't understand me at this point. You can't understand. You are not in the football world."
This words broke your heart. Yes you are not in the field playing active football like your husband but you are in the football world. You know how hard it is, how it can be challenging for your family. You remember yourself worrying and crying about your husband what if he wouldn't come to your delivery because of his crazy schedule. You remember that lonely nights with your infant son because Ruben was at a different country cause of the Champions League. You remember the time Ruben got hit to his head, laying on the field with blood on his face. You started to shake, wondering will he be okay. This and all other stuff. You lived this things because you are in the same world with him, you got in this world because you love him unconditionally. And right now he says no you can't understand him, you are at a different world. Wow.
You shook your head, laughed ironically. "So you basically say i can't understand you huh? I know nothing? So what am i then to you?" You pointed your big belly. "Am i just a body you can fuck and make babies? Since i can't understand your world, this makes me just a body, not a soul mate as i thought, huh? Why are you staying with me then?" Ruben tried to say something but you acted fast.
"No shut up!" Your voice was raising high. "Why did you make a baby with me then? You think i know nothing about your job but you are building a family with me. As i remember i made this babies with you." You were referring your belly and Teo with your two hands. "I was not under of a another man."
He took a big step and gripped your arm tightly. You saw his veins in his forehead and neck.
"Shut up y/n! You are crossing the line. Yes i remember the nights you were under me, there is no other way around. Watch your words or this will go worse."
"Worse?! What will you do?" You looked at your arm with Ruben's hand on it.
"MĂŁe?"
You both turned your heads to the living room. Teo was standing in front of the door with his cute pyjama set and bare feet. Ruben let go of his hand from your arm and walked to the other direction while sighing. You walked to the your scared son, his cheeks were red. He inherited this from you. Your cheeks will turn red whenever you feel intense emotions. He was tall compared to his piers like Ruben when he was a child. Ruben approached you as you held him in your arms, he looked at his father first and said "Why are you yelling mĂŁe?" while snuggling you. "Oh baby we are just discussing something with your father. You know adults solve their problems through talking right? But i think this time my voice was to high, you are right." You kissed his head, took him off from your arms and said "Go upstairs and brush your teeth. Its sleeping time. I'm coming after you."
"Can you read Portuguese stories tonight? I'm bored of others." he said. You shook your head and he climbed the stairs slowly. You both watched him.
After he left, you looked at your husband's face, his very handsome face. Whenever you look at him, you find comfort. Always. But this time it caused your tears to drop. You left him alone with his training shoes and went your son's room.
Let me know if you want part 2!

NOTE: This chapter was rewritten like ten times and still I feel like it could of been better. As you can see from the warnings, there is some smut in it, as I decided to test the waters with it (please read the note at the end, as I donât want to spoil anything for you at the beginning). I hope that you will enjoy the chapter as I tried to make it serious but also fun and unbelievable in some moments as it is usually in real life. Also a BIG BIG THANK YOU to all of you who comment, reblog, like and follow me it means the world to me đ„č𫶠And thank you for the sweet messages when I shared with you that I havenât been feeling good this past week, you all are amazing human beings <3333
âItâs great, I was sure you gonna nailed it.â Dave tilted his head looking at me with a big grin spread across his face. I finished editing the footage for the music video last night and called him to meet me today for a coffee. We were sitting on a table for two in my favourite coffee shop. I was nervously biting on my nails, my brows frown not fully satisfied or convinced that the video was good enough.
âYou sure? I donât think itâs there yet.â I breathed out, rubbing my temples as Iâve already had a headache. âAnd I must send it by tomorrow as I promised Marco, a-and I must work on my short-cut as we start filming next week, a-a-and I donât have location, I-I have nothing.â I gibbered, clicking on the computer mouse, opening different programs, trying to find a way to make it better. It was not good enough and I didnât have much time left to sent it. âWhy, why, why did I agree to do this?â Stress was taking over me these past days; I thought that I could manage a lot of things at the same time not realising that I was not ready for this yet.
âHey, hey, hey.â Dave gently grabbed my hand and put the mouse away. He gently stared to run circles on my back trying to calm me down. âThe video is amazing; you canât do it any better than it is already.â He looked me in the eyes, and I could see that he meant what he was saying. âTake some deep breaths.â His tone was gentle. He put his arm around my shoulder pushing me closer to him. âYou did great. Hell, I should show you the first video that I did, so you can see what a bad music video looks like.â I giggled at his attempt to cheer me up. I took a deep breath and tilted my head up as I could feel some tears building up in my eyes, ready to fall. âHey, no crying.â Dave gently whipped the tear that rolled from the corner of my eye.
âIâm sorry, Iâm not a cry baby I promise.â I chuckled trying to hold back the tears.
âI know you arenât. I think you stressed yourself way too much.â His thumb continued to gently crease my cheek. I looked at him and nodded, my lip trembling. âThe video is perfect, now save the files and just relax.â He reassured me again, giving me little squeeze on the shoulder.
âYou are right.â I saved the files and closed the laptop. âThank you, Dave.â I whispered, glancing at his sincere green eyes. He slightly nodded and gave me one of his sweet smiles.
âDonât look at it anymore and just send it to their manager.â Dave let go of me and took a sip of his coffee. I also took a sip of mine and made a grimace. We stayed in silence for a second, as I was lost in my own thoughts, until Dave cleared his throat. âCan I... Can I ask you something?â He rubbed the back of his neck, unsure how to ask whatever he had in mind.
âOf course you can.â I turned all my attention to him.
âIs there something going on between you and I think his name was Ace?â His gaze focused on me.
âWhat? No, why?â My eyes were shifting between him and the coffee mug in my hands.
âWell, there was obviously some tension between you two on set, so I thought that you might... you know.â He awkwardly shrugged. I puffed and gave him a dismissive wave of with my hand.
âI was just pissed because he was late, thatâs all.â I lied, something I caught myself doing a lot lately, especially when it came to Ace. âI hate it when people are not serious you know, and he wasnât that day on set, so I got pissed.â This was not a lie. Ace did piss me off with his behaviour on set, not only for that, but Dave didnât need to know.
âYeah, that was a little annoying.â He agreed with me. âAnd arrogant.â Dave added. I side-eyed him for a second. âHonestly, from all the guys he was giving the weirdest vibes.â
âWhat do you mean?â I wanted him to elaborate more by what he meant by Ace being the âweirdestâ.
âSorry, I shouldnât have said that. He is your friend after all.â The regret in his voice was clear as he quickly apologised but I shook my head. Â
âWe are not that close.â I pointed out. âBut for real, why did you get this vibe from him? I personally think that Law is the weirdest.â I laughed, thinking of all the awkward situations I have had with Law. He was also the one I have spoken the least with.
âNah, Lawâs pretty cool.â Dave disagreed with me, nudging my shoulder. âWell, I donât know... Ace was kinda giving me some weird looks.â
âWhat? For real?â I blinked surprised at Dave. âI didnât notice anything. Are you sure he did?â Ace might be an ass from time to time, but I didnât notice anything on set, he seemed pretty chilled with all of the guys.
âI donât know, you are right and maybe I misread the situation.â I didnât know what to respond, so I just gave him an awkward smile. âLook I didnât want to bad mouth Ace or anything like it, I swear.â Dave run his hand over his hair, as he gave me a regretful look.
âDave, please. You didnât bad mouth anyone, if he did act like this then he is an ass.â I gently placed my hand on his shoulder and squeezed it. I didnât want Dave to feel bad, for sharing his view of someone with me. âAnd Iâm not going to tell him anything, so donât worry.â
*************
I got home and the first thing that I did was to take a warm shower. I took of my clothes and throw them in the laundry basket. Before I got in the shower, I put some music on my phone and left it on the sink. I got in the shower and let the warm water run down my body. It helped relaxing my tensed muscles. The whole room was steamed, making everything foggy. The past few days were quite stressful for me and the upcoming ones wouldnât be any different. From shooting the music video, to editing it and the stress if they were going to like it, to my upcoming short-cuts, my mind was going to explode. On top of it I couldnât stop thinking about Ace, no matter how hard I tried not to. In a way he had gotten under my skin. He was so suffocating and hard to understand at times. His whole behaviour was so confusing, one second, he was all nice, bubbly and open with me and the next he was cold, and moody and overall, an asshole. I confidently can say that Iâm good with reading people and understanding why they act the way they do, but Ace was another story. From what he had shared with me so far, I knew that he hadnât had it easy in life. Especially growing up without parents, it definitely took a tool on him. I want to get to know him more and be his friend, but Iâm not sure how much he would let me in his life and mind.
I couldnât stop thinking of the afternoon we spent together on Saturday, if I was to make a cheesy movie, I would definitely recreate it. I was surprised even then how much he opened, but then so did I. Not even Nami and Usopp knew about my mother. Something that Saturday made me trust him and that same thing made him trust me. Part of me started to wonder, what if he regrated opening, as it might have been too soon, giving the fact we have known each other for almost a month. Then the scene with Samantha, and the way he was enjoying it, made my blood boil. The satisfaction in his eyes when I cut the scene right before their kiss, and the cocky smirk he had on his face, like he knew why I did it, only added fuel to my irritation with him. And the audacity to text me right after.
âFucking Aceâ I cursed under my breath as I felt myself getting irritated once again. Rubbing the bodywash up and down my body and the hot water washing it away, my mind was full of Ace. I tried to take my mind off him, but I couldnât. I felt this warm feeling building up inside of me. I havenât felt this way in a long time. I ran one of my hands down my neck to my breast. Closing my eyes the first thing that my mind thought off was the feeling of when I was holding onto Aceâs torso while we were on his motorbike. âNo, fuck.â My eyes shoot open as I shook my head quickly getting rid of the thoughts. I tried to calm myself as I was getting heated up. I reached for the towel hanged next to the shower door and wrapped it around myself. âFuckinâ Ace.â I whispered to myself. âFucking Ace.â I called out louder, as I smacked my hands on the sink. âFuckinâ, fuckinâ Ace.â I got mad at myself for letting him have such effect on me.
âCalling Ace.â My eyes widen as I heard Siriâs voice. I grabbed my phone as quick as possible, which had already dialled Aceâs number. Because of my wet fingers the screen wasnât responding, no matter how fast I tried to cancel the call.
âHey, doll.â His voice raspy and low. âYou arenât mad at me anymore?â He snorted.
âA-Ace.â My voice came out like I was out of breath. I slapped myself on the face.
âUh... doll? Are you okay?â His voice sounded confused. âYou sound a little out of breath.â
âSo do you.â I quickly replied.
âYou caught me in the middle of workout.â He huffed.
âSame.â I looked in the mirror at my reflection making a grimace at myself at the answer I gave him.
âAnd what are you working out?â He didnât believe my answer at all, I could of hear it in his voice.
âRunning.â I spatted out.
âSo, you are working our running... interesting. How many are you running?â
âFive.â
âFive what, doll?â He laughed. âYou ran out of words or something?â He teased me.
âKilometres, five kilometres.â I scrunched my face as I mentally slapped myself, as I couldnât come up with worse answer than this.
âWow, impressive. We should run together sometime then.â I just hummed in respond to this. âAnd what made you call me?â
âI...um...I called you... because...â I tried to think of a quick excuse as I tighten the towel around my body. âBecause of the video.â I blurted out.
âItâs done?â He sounded surprised.
âYes, and you are the first one to know that, remember how you ask me to be the first one to know, there you go. You welcome.â I chuckled, regaining my confidence.
âNo, I didnât.â
âYes, you did.â
âNo, I did not.â
âAce, you did.â Was he trying to irritate me, and it was working.
âI asked you to be the first one to see it, not the first one to know.â He clarified. I bit my tongue, the audacity this man had was unmatched. âSo when can we watch it?â
âI am going to emailed it to Marco, but if you text me your email, I can send it to you as well.â
âNo, come over my place and we can watch it together.â I was taken aback from his suggestion.
âIâm extremely tired, so thank you, but no.â I politely decline his offer.
âTake a nap, itâs barely 3PM, I will come and pick you up around six.â He didnât tell or ask me; he literally commanded me.
âAce I just told you Iâm tired.â I hissed.
âDidnât I give you a solution just a second ago?â He was testing my patience at this point.
âAce, Iâm not the type you can order around.â I rolled my eyes annoyed.
âIs that a challenged, doll?â He teased.
âAce you are...â He didnât let me finish.
âCharmin, I know. Now tell me what your plans for the night are?â I could feel the smug smirk on his face without even seeing him. Â
âSleeping.â I spatted.
âI promise I will get you back home the latest around ten.â Ace wasnât going to give up.
âYou wonât take ânoâ for an answer, will you?â He clicked with his tongue. âFine, but under one condition.â I sighed.
âShoot.â
âYou send me the address and I come by myself, because Iâm not getting on that thing again.â He laughed as I referred to his motorbike as âthat thingâ.
âSure, Iâll send you the address.â And with this he hung up. I ran my fingers through my wet hair and sighed deeply. I looked at my phone and whined.
âHow? How did you hear âcall Aceâ, hu? Explain!â I was talking to my phone like it can respond to me. I didnât know how to call this, but some cosmetic power out there was clearly beefing with me, as what just happened right now, was made up straight out of a movie.
**********
Around five-something pm, I woke up from the nap I took. I stretched my body and reached to take my phone and check the address that Ace sent me. It was thirty minutes away with the metro.
âOps, guess I will be late.â I said to myself with a sly smile. Ace could wait for a little bit.
I put a pair of dark blue leggings on and just a white hoodie on top. I grabbed my bag, but first checked if I got everything with me. I left my place and went to catch the metro. After almost forty minutes I was in front of his front door. The area where Ace lived was quite nice depending on which side of it you live. He lived in the middle between the good and the bad side, which I found kind of ironic. From what I have gotten to know him so far, Ace was somehow always in between something. The building where he lived was old from the outside but renovated from the inside. He had sent me the code for the entrance door of the building, so I easily got in. His apartment was on the last floor and there was no elevator, so by the time I reached the seventh floor I was out of breath. I made a mental note to myself that I need to consider started working out. I chewed on my bottom lip as tension started to build up in me before I rang the bell, and a sight left my lips. I looked down as I was playing nervously with my fingers waiting for Ace to open the door. The door swinged open, and Ace stood in front of me. I lifted my head slowly and I was met with Aceâs bare upper body, as only a pair of grey sweatpants were hanging low on his hips. My eyes widen and I immediately looked away.
âYou are late, doll.â A smug smirk was growing on his face as he saw me all flushed and avoiding his gaze.
âYou are not the one to speak about whoâs late or not.â I snapped quietly. He moved aside and let me in. I stepped inside and took off my shoes, kicking them on the side. Ace closed the door behind me, and I followed him. The apartment was spacious. By the entrance, on the left, was a door that was closed and next to it was the kitchen which wasnât very big and had no door. From the small hallway we went straight to the spacious living room. The walls were anchor grey colour with some naked spots on most corners and you could see the bricks. The two big windows, on each side of the wall where a big TV was placed, were almost touching the floor, and some long off-white curtains were hanged on them. In the middle was a big L-shaped light grey couch with a square coffee table in front of it. In the right spaced corner Ace had a desk by the window, which was quite a mess with pencils and sheets of paper everywhere, even on the ground. By the desk were positioned three guitar stances, only two guitars placed there the third one missing. The corner wall there was covered in posters of different bands and artists. On the left side of the living room behind the couch almost to the corner was another door which was closed as well. The left side wall had another big window but that one didnât reach the floor like the others. In front of it was big sideboard with a lot of picture frames on top of it. The apartment overall was super clean and tidy, which surprised me a little as I always thought of Ace as a messy guy.
âWow, your place is amazing.â I said as he offered to take my bag, and I handed it to him, still avoiding looking at his direction. I sat on the couch where I saw the third missing guitar.
âDo you want to drink something? I have like coke and beer.â He came by the back of the couch and picked the guitar putting it back to its place.
âIs it zero?â I glanced at him, his back facing me. His broad back was defined with muscles. I always thought he had a back tattoo but apparently, I was wrong, instead the back of his shoulders was covered with freckles.
âUh... I have to check.â He scratched the back of his neck as he smiled at me. I slowly nodded and moved my eyes away from his body as he left the room. My eyes landed on the paper sheets on the table and the pen on top of them. I tilted my head to take a better look at them.
âDo you want ice?â Ace yelled from the kitchen.
âYes, please.â I yelled back. He came soon after with a can of Coke Zero and a glass full of ice. âThank you.â I whispered as he handed it to me. I poured the Coke into the glass and took a big sip. Ace put the paper sheets away and sat on the other side of the sofa, leaning back as he spreads his legs like a slut, and pulled up his phone.
âHave you eaten?â He asked me without looking at me but scrolling on his phone.
âUh, no I havenât.â I murmured, swallowing hard.
âWhat do you want to eat?â He glanced at me.
âI donât have preferences.â I shrugged. Ace looked again at me and sighed.
âDoll, relax please. You know you can lay or just lean comfortably, no need to be stiff at all. Feel at home, I mean it.â He threw one of the small pillows on the couch at me and I caught it. I didnât say anything, I just hugged the pillow and leaned back on the couch. âSo, I donât know... Pizza?â Ace raised his eyebrows waiting for a respond.
âSure, pizza is good.â I nodded.
âHave you tried this place âPappa Grappaâ they have th-â I didnât let Ace finished his sentence as I squeaked excitedly almost choking as I was taking a sip of the cola. Aceâs eyes widen at my reaction as he gave me a questionable look.
âAre you kidding me? They are the best! And oh my God, their chicken wings, have you tried them?â I moved to sit right next to him, excitement taking over me. Ace just shook his head in response to my question. I gasped. âOh my God, Ace. Ace, Ace you must try them. You donât understand those chicken wings taste like haven, like if haven was food it was going to be this chicken wings.â I grabbed him by the biceps and squeezed it, all my shyness left my body as I was babbling to him about the chicken wings. Ace smiled at my childish excitement.
âDoll, why donât you take my phone and order whatever you heart desires and I just take care of the payment, hm?â He handed me his phone to take it.
âNo, letâs split it thi-.â I insist but Ace shushed me fast.
âYou are not paying for anything. Now choose whatever you want.â He leaned back on the couch, both arms behind his neck, eyes fixed on me. I wanted to protest, but arguing with Ace was impossible as he would never back up.
âBut next time is on me.â I looked at him seriously.
âYeah, sure.â He snorted. I couldnât help but noticed that his abs tensed when he laughed. My eyes moved quickly back to his phone, as I felt a wave of heat hitting me up. I cleared my throat before I spoke.
âWhat pizza do you want?â
âYour choice.â I nodded to his response and went with my favourite pizza. Once I added the chicken wings as well, I handed him the phone so he could proceed with the payment. âSo.. how are you doing, doll?â He put his phone in his sweatpants pocket and looked at me. Even though Ace had a smug look on his face, his eyes werenât. His deep brown eyes had this soft look, nothing mischievous or mocking behind them, just pure softness.
âBeen better, you?â I leaned on the couch, a bit of a space between us. I grab one of the pillows behind my back and put it on my lap as I brought my legs close to me and crossed them.
âWhyâs that?â Ace frowned upon hearing my response.
âIâm just extremely stressed that is all.â I shrugged. âHow have you been?â
âSame as always. Still stressed about your⊠short-cuts, was it called that?â He raised his eyebrow questioningly.
âYeah, I havenât found a location for the party scene, but I might ask Dave for help, as he might know someone who can let us film in his apartment.â I clicked with my tongue. Ace clenched his jaw as he hummed. âWhat?â I chuckled at his reaction.
âWhat, what?â He frowned his eyebrows.
âWhat was with that âreactionâ?â I mimicked his jaw clenching and hum. Ace shook his head denying it.
âI never did this. But anyway, arenât you here to show me the video?â He quickly changed the subject.
âYes, I need my laptop.â I was about to stand up, but Ace stopped me and instead he did and brought me my bag. I thanked him and took the laptop out of my bag. I took a deep breath as I opened it, and it loaded. Ace sat closer to me this time, his body almost touching mine. âSo, I edit it like thousand times, but this is the final edit. I was literally going crazy over it and Dave had to calm me down and reassured me that it is good.â A little giggle escaped my lips. I was too focused on the screen and didnât see Ace rolling his eyes.
âIâm sure you did a good job.â Ace bit the inside of his cheek. I slightly tilted my head and side-eyed him, before opening the video file.
âOkay, are you ready?â I asked before pressing play. He nodded, his face emotionless. âAssholeâ I thought to myself, at lease he could pretend that he was excited to see his own video. I pressed play and the video started. My eyes were moving between the laptop and Ace the whole time, but I couldnât read his face. His face was like a stone. I started to feel more and more uncertain with every passing second, biting on my nails now afraid of his reaction. What if he doesnât like the video or worst hate it? My thoughts were running wild, while his eyes were glued to the screen. The video ended and I waited for his response.
âSoâŠ. What do you think?â I swallowed hard, the tension he was building was killing me.
âOh, dollâŠâ He clicked with his tongue, shaking his head as he pursed his lips. My eyes widen at his reaction.
âNo, no, no.â I shook my head in distress. I jumped on my feet as I covered my face with my hands. âI knew you were going to hate it, Iâm sorry, Iâm so, so sorry.â My eyes filed up with tears immediately and my lip started trembling. Â
âNo, no, hell, donât cry, doll.â Ace jumped from the couch and grabbed me by the shoulders. âI was kidding, please, donât cry.â He tried to calm me down.
âNo, you are lying.â I didnât believe him, his reaction said it out loud that he wasnât happy with the video.
âNo, Iâm not.â He cupped my face in his hands making me look at him. â(Y/N), the video is amazing. I swear upon my dead mother I love the video, doll.â I blinked at him, as a tear rolled down my face. Ace quickly whipped it with his thumb. âDoll, please donât cry. I just wanted to mess around with you a little, I swear.â He pulled me towards his chest and wrapped his arms around me. My heart skipped a beat. His skin was so warm and soft, yet his body felt so hard and muscular. I froze in his embrace. My heartbeat fastens, we have never been this close before, except from when were on his motorbike but that was different. I took a deep breath, and I got lightheaded. I never noticed how good Ace smelled - a woody, citrusy and musky notes perfectly mixed in one creating this intoxicating scent of a man. Ace let go of me after a moment and took a step back, lifting my chin up with two of his fingers looking at my eyes. âIâm sorry.â His eyes were sincere.
âYou really like it?â My voice came out like a whisper.
âI donât like it, I love it. I knew you can do it.â He moved a strand of my hair and gently put it behind my ear.
âYou are an asshole. I hope you are aware of that.â I frowned my eyebrows at him, as I turned and sat on the couch, facing away from him. Ace smiled and sat next to me and pulled me closer to him with one hand. He wrapped it around my shoulder and whispered in my ear:
âI am. But please donât be mad at me, doll.â His breath was hot on my skin, and I got goosebumps all over my body. I turned my head to look at him our faces inches apart. I slightly open my mouth to say something, but nothing came. My brows still frowned as I was still affected. He was just observing me, not saying anything, his eyes soften again.
âI should be packing my stuff and leave now but be thankful that Iâm starving otherwise I would have been gone by now.â I finally told him, turning my head away from him. Ace heartly laughed and nodded agreeing with me. His phone rang and he quickly picked up â it was the delivery guy and Ace told him that he was going to come down in a second.
âFaster.â I yelled after him as I heard him opening the front door. He just laughed in response before closing it. I huffed and looked around. My eyes land on the big sideboard with the picture frames. I got up from the couch and went to look at them. They were mostly of him with his brothers or friends. I picked the one of all three of them as kids smiling wide with one front tooth missing, Luffy looking so much smaller than his big brothers, they were no older than eight or nine years old.
âSnooping around?â Ace said behind me. I jumped a little as I didnât hear him coming back at all.
âSorry, hope you donât mind me looking at the pictures.â I chuckled still holding the frame. âThis is super cute picture.â I pointed out.
âWanna hear the story behind it?â I nodded eagerly as I handed him the framed photo. âSo, me and Sabo lost the same front tooth at the same time. I think we were around nine years old. And to not feel left out, five years old Luffy went, and till this day we donât know how he managed but took out the exact same tooth. Kid was so happy that he was matching with us, until he had to wait two years for the tooth to grow back.â Ace placed the picture on its place and we both laughed when he finished the story.
âThis is so funny, but I feel so bad for poor little Luffy.â I cooed.
âYeah, poor Luffy.â He smiled. âCome on, doll. Your wings are here, donât want them to get cold, do you?â He pinched my cheek and turned around. Just before I followed him, my eyes landed on a picture that caught my attention. I gasped, Ace heard me and tilted his head to look at me. I carefully picked the frame in my hands. The picture was of a woman. Her hair was long very light strawberry blonde colour, a hibiscus flower was placed behind her left ear. She was smiling, her dark brown eyes were full of life and her face was cover with freckles. Ace came and stood closer to me, not saying anything.
âThatâs you mom, right?â I looked at him, he was looking at the picture with so much adoration and softness. He softly hummed in response. âGod, Ace she was gorgeous.â I whispered. Looking at her now I understood where Ace got his beauty from.
âI know.â He softly said.
âYou look so much her.â I smiled at him. Ace looked at me with wide eyes, full of surprise and shock.
âWhat?â He breathed out. I put the picture back making sure I positioned it as it was before I picked it up.
âWhat? D-did I said something wrong?â I blinked confused.
âN-no, you are just the first person who has ever said this to me.â There was both surprise and sadness in his voice. I raised my brows not expecting to hear this.
âAre you kidding me? You are literally like her twin.â Ace swallowed hard when he heard my words. It didnât take me long to realise that I stuck something within him with my words. I saw his reaction and gently took his hand in mind and gave it a squeeze. âI think there are some very delicious chicken wings and pizza waiting for us.â I wiggled my eyebrows at him trying to distract him from his thoughts. Ace cleared his throat and nodded, shaking the thoughts away. We sat down on the coach, and I excitedly started taking the food out of the bag.
âCould you please bring two plates and a lot of napkins please?â I flutter my eyelashes at him. He quickly got up and did exactly what I told him to do. He came back and handed me the plates as he sat down closer to me this time. âSo, are you ready, to try the most tender, mouth-watering, making you taste haven, juicy, flavoury rich, orgasm reaching chicken wings in the world?â I seriously said while looking at Ace in the eyes. He covered his mouth trying to hold his laughter but his whole body was shaking. I opened the box with the wings and smelled it breathing out loudly. I took two and handed one of it to Ace.
âNow, this is not an ordinary chicken wing, so you eat them a certain way.â I lift my finger in the air pointing out how important it was for him to listen to me carefully now. âYou grab the wing, you place it in your mouth and then just bite on it and pull out the bone. They are so tender that a gentle bite strips all the meat, you got it?â I pointed my finger at him.
âGot it.â He lifted his hands in the air, like he was under arrest. I gave him a cheer with the wing and nodded letting him know that he can eat now. I did the same, the moment the juiciness and the BBQ sauce touched my tongue I couldnât stop the moan that left my lips. I leaned on the couch as I was enjoying the taste, my eyes closed. Ace was taken aback from my reaction last thing he expected was to hear me moan. He swallowed and licked his lips, looking at me.
âDoll, you good?â He lifted his head a bit to look at my face.
âIâm having soul orgasm now, please donât interrupt me.â I lifted my hand to his face to make him stop talking. Ace burst out laughing, he put the plate to the side as he grabbed on his stomach. âWhat are you laughing at? This is better than sex.â I chuckled.
âLook, doll. The wings are good, I give you this â you were right about them, butâŠâ He took a breath trying to calm himself down. âNothing can beat sex.â He shook his head at me as he opened the pizza box taking a slice of it.
âSex is overrated.â I disagreed with him as I took another wing, enjoying the test of it. Ace snorted out when he heard me.
âDoll, all respect here, but if you have slept only with boys who had no idea how to please a woman, thatâs on them, not sex.â He winked at me, and I rolled my eyes at his comment. âWhy the eye rolling? You know Iâm right. Come on, if itâs not that personal and uncomfortable for you⊠have you never you know⊠had a mind blowing sex?â He deeply exhaled; his eyes were full of curiosity a little devilish smile playing on his lips. I sighed gesturing him to hand me a slice of pizza. He did and I thanked him, as I took a bite of it. I lifted my finger to tell him to give me a second before I response.
âIâve done it only once so far, and it was bad, like embarrassing bad.â Shivers ran down my spine as I remembered my first time. My face cringed at the thought of it.
âSorry to hear that, doll.â He chuckled before taking a bite of his slice. âWhen was it?â
âLast year.â I replied. âYours?â I glanced at him.
âI was seventeen.â I got surprised by his answer. âWhat?â He noticed my reaction.
âNothing just⊠I thought⊠I donât know⊠like you are going to say something like fifteen.â I shrugged.
âI wish.â Ace huffed and we shared a laughed. âBut seriously, just because one guy did you bad, doesnât mean all of them will.â I gave him a look and rolled my eyes at him. âHey, take it as an advice from a friend.â He pointed his finger at me.
âSure, Ace, sure.â I gave him a thumb up, as I was taking another wing.
âHm, come here.â Ace gestured me with two fingers to lean towards him. I did and he ran his thumb on the corner of my lips. âYou had a little sauce on you, doll.â He licked his finger clean.
âYou could give me a napkin.â I remarked licking my lips.
âWhy? I can always clean you good.â He smirked at me. I facepalmed myself, shaking my head as I tried not to laugh. I couldnât deny it, but I always have fun around Ace. The moment I relax around him it feels like I could be myself without any modesty. We finished eating and I stood to clean the table, but Ace stopped me again and told me that he would take care of it. I checked the time, and it was already 9PM.
âWanna smoke one?â Ace asked me when he finished cleaning around.
âOh, I donât smoke cigarettes. Plus, I have to go itâs getting late.â I half smiled at him.
âStay the night, you can sleep in my bed, I can sleep here.â Ace shrugged as he sat next to me again. âAnd I didnât mean cigarettes, I have some weed⊠you know we can roll one.â He winked at me, a little smirk playing on his lips.
âThanks Ace, but some other time. I must search for a place where I can shoot the party scene tomorrow, as I have like five days until itâs my turn to film it.â I leaned my head on the back of the couch and tilted it towards Ace.
âI can help you with this just stay the night, plus Iâm ether driving you, as I will not let you go alone at that time, or you stay here for the night.â His face might not seem stern, but his tone was.
âAm I a hostage now?â I lightly chuckled and pouted my lips.
âHostages donât have choice, but you do.â He raised his eyebrows waiting for my response.
âI donât have anything with me Ace, not even a toothbrush.â
âI can give you one. Something else you would need, doll?â He leaned closer to me, his eyes locked with mine. I inhaled and exhaled deeply, shaking my head.
âYou are so persistent.â I pushed him on the chest. Ace laughed at me before he got up from the couch.
***************
We shared a joint and now we were laying on the couch, soft music was playing in the background from the speaker. Ace was lounged on the couch, hands behind his neck, his head propped on the back of the couch. I was laying on the couch with my head leaned on Aceâs lap. I felt so high, as I couldnât remember the last time I smoked weed. The silence between us was terrifically comfortable.
âAce...â I whispered tilting my head up, to take a better look at him. He hummed in response not looking at me. âWhat made you believe in me?â
âWhat do you mean, doll?â His voice raspy and low, almost like a whisper.
âYou had never seen any of my work, yet you trusted me enough to direct your bandâs first and most important video...â I took a deep breath. âWhy?â Ace didnât respond at first.
âI donât know, doll. I had a feeling, so I went with my gut.â He finally looked at me, his eyes were half lidded as usually but this time they were so red. He was probably as high as me. I slowly nodded moving my gaze to the wall covered with posters, knowing that I wonât get any further answers from him. As I was lost in my own thoughts I felt his hand on my head, his fingers running through my hair. This made me relax even more. âBut I wasnât wrong.â Ace broke the silence. âYou did great, doll. Believe more in yourself.â My heart skipped a beat when I heard him saying this.
âItâs hard, you know?â I whispered. âI canât shake the âimposterâ feeling in me, no matter what people tell me.â I quietly confessed. âIt doesnât mater how good something turns out to be, it is never a hundred percent perfect, you know? Like it can aways be better, yet it can never be perfect. Nothing can ever be perfect...â My voice was so low, I wasnât even sure if Ace heard me. His fingers moved slowly and gently to my cheek caressing it. I leaned into his touch closing my eyes.
âI know what you mean, doll.â He softly said, voice still low and raspy. âI feel the same, after every show. I have been living with the âimposterâ syndrome my whole life.â I was listening carefully to Ace, as he was opening to me again. âI wish... I wish, I have been feeling, as an imposter, only for when it comes music, but... I feel that way about everything, even life itself.â I turned my head to look at his face. His eyes were looking at me. Sadness and doubt could have been read in them. I turned my body to the side and placed a hand on his chest, heart beating steady. His fingers still on my cheek as he was running them up and down slowly. âI feel like Iâm bringing the guys down all the time. After every performance we have Iâm a mess... and the feeling of not being good enough for anything never leaves.â My heart ached for him. Not only because I knew what he meant as I related to him, but because he didnât deserve to feel this way. Ace was very talented and a good person as well, even when he was acting like an ass sometimes, but now more than ever I understood why... it was all an act, to protect himself. âDonât even get me started on the family shit...â He huffed.
âNow I understand why âWhat's eating Gilbert Grapeâ is a movie you related to.â Ace huffed again, but this time with a half smirk. I rose up and sat on the couch. I moved closer to Ace, whoâs hands were now rested on the back of the couch. His head still leaned back on, he just side-eyed me. I slowly lifted my hand and without words, just with an exchange of looks I asked for permission if I could touch him. Ace barely nodded as he blinked letting me know without words or big gestures that I can touch him. I slowly ran my fingers through his dark locks. His hair was thick and little wavy, so soft in touch.
âYea, even thought we are the same age with Sabo, I have always been the big brother, and I had to be the man in the house on top of it. A lot of my life choices were based on how it would affect them, but I canât complain really, can I?â He might have said it like a joke, but the hint of bitterness was as clear as a glass. âYou know, I might be twenty-five but sometimes I feel like Iâm forty-five, life is so tiring at time.â I only nodded, not sure what to say and not knowing if I should say something in a first place. Ace closed his eyes, and I continued to play with hair by running my fingers thought it.
âYou know...â I took a deep breath before I continue. âI might not have siblings or had the exact same difficulties in life as you... but I can always listen and be there for you, as I understand what it feels like, under different circumstances than yours of course, but still... After all what are friends for?â I placed a small smile on my face and swallowed hard, the word âfriendâ was starting to take a bitter taste on my tongue. Ace opened his eyes and looked at me.
âSure, doll. Iâll keep this in mind.â A half smile appeared on his lips. After a moment of silence Ace spoke first.
âYou look tired, wanna go to sleep?â I didnât want the night to end, yet. But even high I could sense that this conversation affected him in some way, and I didnât want to push any further. I just nodded in respond to his question. He got up from the couch and I followed him. Ace opened the door to the room that was behind the couch and switched on the lights. The walls in the room were entirely naked all the bricks visible. In the middle was a big wooden pallet bed. In front of it was a big bookcase covering the entire wall. He had all sorts of books, movies and CDs on it. On the right side of the bed, next to the wall he had two black clothing racks, all his clothes hanged there. The left side had a big window with two white long curtains hanged on both ends.
âDo you want to change in something more comfortable?â He leaned on the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest. I didnât pay him much attention as I was admiring his film collection, reading all the titles he had.
âYou have so many DVDs.â I exclaimed amazed, I knew Ace was a big movie fan already, but I didnât know about his DVDs collection. I was even more surprised to see that a lot of them were also quite recent movies. âYou know streaming platforms exist nowadays.â I teased him and tilted my head to look at him. Giggle escaped my lips, as I saw Ace faced flushed for a first time ever. I quickly stood in front of him and poked him on his stomach, as he was trying to avoid my gaze. âI didnât know you are such a geek.â I poked him again and he tensed his muscles after every poke.
âIâm not, I just like to collect things that I like.â He grabbed my wrists before I land another poke on him. He tried to give me a warning look as I tried to fight him.
âGeek, geek.â I couldnât stop giggling as I could see him getting more and more flushed.
âOkay that was it.â Ace said before he yanked my body and tossed me on his shoulder with an ease. I squeaked, everything around me spinning from the fast motion.
âAce, put me down.â I closed my eyes, still trippy from the weed. âAce, Ace please.â I whined and begged him. He was laughing at me as I was squeaking and kicking my feet in the air, my arms around his torso as I was afraid that he would drop me.
âNot so confident now doll, hu?â He tossed me up on his shoulder again and I screamed closing my eyes as I thought he was going to drop me. Ace laughed out loud as he gently laid me down on the bed. The soft mattress hit my back as Ace propped his arms on both sides of my body. His face buried at the crock of my neck. Ace couldnât stop laughing, his body and muscles trembling and tensing. I could feel his hot breath on my neck and goosebumps ran all over my body. He slowly lifted his head and looked at me. Both of us were still high, I could see the redness in his eyes as we locked our gazes. His laughter calmed down and his eyes darken. I felt my mouth run dry as I tried to swallow the burning feeling inside of me. All that could be heard was the muffled music from the living room and our slowed breathing. The deja-vu from the Halloween party hitting my memories. This time I didnât close my eyes as I did before. He was studying my face the same way I was his. My heartbeat quickens, and I slowly raised my hand placing it on his chest. His skin was so soft. Ace closed his eyes as he drew a sharp breath in. I could feel his heartbeat matching mine. We stayed like this for a moment. I slowly moved my hand up to the back of his neck, the urge to pull him closer to me taking over me, but I still hesitated. Ace wasnât moving at all and closed his eyes, as his breathing got heavy. His whole body tensed as he tried to move away from me. He sat on his keens on the bed and his eyes shoot open in panic. I push myself up on my elbows with a confused look on my face.
âDoll, have I told you that I have narcol-â Ace couldnât finish his sentenced as his eyes rolled back and his whole body went numb. My body rose immediately and caught Ace by the arm, pulling him towards me with all the straight I have had in me. My heart was going to explode as I didnât know what to do, and the fact that if I didnât react so fast Ace was going to hurt himself so bad. His body was laying in my arms, as I gently placed him on the mattress.
âAce.â I whispered trying no to panic, as I had no idea how to help him. The only thing that kept me as calm as it was possible to be in this situation, was the fact that he was breathing steady. I gently tucked a lock of hair away from his face and placed my hand on his cheek and caressed it. My thoughts were running wild, as I had no idea how long he was going to be passed out like this. I pulled my phone out from the pocket on my hoodie and started to type fast what to do in situations like this one. My eyes were moving between the screen and Ace all the time. A few minutes later Ace started to open his eyes. I froze on the bed not being able to move as I didnât want to scare him or something. He covered his face with his hands and rubbed his temples.
âFuck, fuck, fuck.â Ace groaned loudly, as he looked at me with worry and embarrassment written all over his face. âDoll, Iâm so sorry. Please, tell me are you okay? Did I fall on top of you? Are you hurt?â He sat on the bed but kept a distance between us.
âI-Iâm okay, are y-you okay? What happened?â I blinked at him, the shock of what had happened still havenât left my body.
âIâm sorry, if I scared you.â He shook his head as he cursed under his breath. âIâm narcoleptic, guess I forgot to mention it before.â He mumbled as he scratched the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact with me. I reached and placed my hand on his knee squeezing it.
âAce, itâs okay. I just got panicked because I didnât know what to do to help you. Does this happen... a lot?â My brows frowned slightly as I was concerned about him. Ace finally looked at me. He rubbed his chin and shook his head.
âKinda, but I havenât had a cataplexy attack in the past eight months.â He seemed lost in his own thoughts. Now that I know that he is narcoleptic, this explains why half of the time he looked so tired or emotionless. âAnd you donât need to do anything, the attack passes by itself in a few minutes, and Iâm still conscious in the meantime anyway.â He shrugged as he explained to me.
âDoes your body hurt? I caught you in time, before you hurt yourself bad, but still I had to pull you quite hard...â I moved closer to Ace, and he snorted.
âIâm all good, doll. Donât worry I have fallen quite a lot, so Iâm used to take hits.â I pouted at him when he tried to turn this into a joke. Â Â
âAce, itâs not funny.â I murmured. âDo you take pills for it?â I softly asked him.
âYeah, I do. Everyday, as I have type one narcolepsy.â He gave me one last look before he got up from the bed. âIf you want to change into something more comfortable take something from my clothes.â He was about to walked out of the room when I stopped him.
âYou can sleep in your bed, I can sleep on the couch itâs not a problem at all, or I can call myself uber an-â He didnât let me finish.
âDoll, go to sleep. Iâm fine, just donât pity me now, okay.â His face was serious, while his voice was more laid. Â
âIâm not pitying you.â I quickly replied as I frowned my eyebrows again.
âGood.â He said as he grabbed the doorhandle to close the door after himself. âNight, doll.â
âGoodnight, Ace.â I quietly called after him as he closed the door. I sighed looking at the closed door. He was so stubborn sometimes, most of the time actually. I got from the bed to change to one of his t-shists. I found a simple white t-shirt that looked like it would sit on me like a dress, so I took my clothes off and put it instead. I turned off the lights and got into his bed. The room was not completely dark as the curtains were open and some streetlight was reflecting. I buried my head in the pillows, which smelled so much like him. Thoughts were running all over my mind and all of them were about Ace. I was tossing and turning around until sleep took over me.
**********
In the morning, I woke up around ten something. I rose and sat in the bed for a second, looking around. A yawn escaped my lips as I reached to grab my phone. My eyes widen with shock as I saw I had a message from one of the actors for my short-cut film asking where I was, as we had arranged a meeting today in the morning. I quickly called them and apologised, asking them if they could still meet me in thirty minutes. Thankfully they could so I quickly got up from the bed and dressed myself with my cloths, tossing the white shirt on the unmade bed.
âAce?â I called out when I stepped outside the room. I looked around for him everywhere, but I couldnât find him. Finally, I saw a note on the coffee table. I grabbed the note and read it.
âI have some early morning stuffs that I must do, I left you toothbrush in the bathroom. Eat something. There is a spear key by the door, lock it and drop it inside the mailbox. Aceâ I read out loud. An unpleasant feeling set in my stomach. I didnât expect at all to wake up and not to see him. I shook the feeling away and ran to the bathroom, quickly brushing my teeth. I found the spear key and locked the door behind me, dropping the key back in the mailbox. I quickly ran down the stairs and then to the metro station. While I was in the metro, I typed a short message to Ace that I dropped his key in the mailbox and thanked him for letting me stay over last night. It was so cold outside today; I was freezing with the leggings and the hoodie only. I got to the university as fast I could. Running down the hallway I ran into someoneâs back accidently as I couldnât pass by them on time.
âIâm so, so sorry.â I turned to tell them, only to be met with Daveâs green eyes.
â(Y/N), why are in such hurry?â He smiled at me, confusion written on his face.
âI forgot that I have a meeting with my actors for the short-cut and they have been waiting for me for an hour now.â I quickly explained.
âOhh shit, then run, catch you later.â He sent me off as he flashed me another smile. I returned the smile and ran to the room where the actors were waiting for me. I apologised to them again, but they brushed me off by saying that they understood.
âOkay, let me get my laptop and we can go through the script.â I smiled at all four of them. âFuck, noâ I cursed as realisation hit me. I forgot my backpack at Aceâs place. I ran my fingers thought my hair pulling it as I tried to take some deep breaths and calm myself down. I have everything on my phone as well so it shouldnât be a problem. They all locked at me confused as I turned around. I explained quickly what I have done, and they shared some looks between themselves. I couldnât blame them; I was all over the place today.
âI have it on my phone so it shouldnât be a problem.â I pulled my phone which had only thirty percent battery left. âPerfect, just perfectâ I thought to myself, before I started the meeting with the guys.
After an hour and a half, we were done, as we even had some time to rehears and improvise the scenes. I thanked them and told them that I will send more information regarding their rolls tonight. They bit me goodbye and left. With the remaining five percent that I had left, I texted Ace a quick message that I have forgotten my bag at his place, and I really need it as I have everything in it, even the keys to my apartment, and I would be grateful if he could bring it to me. While waiting for a response from Ace, I texted Dave to see if he was still around school. He quickly replied to meet him in the chill aera. I made my way there and he was sitting with some classmates of his. He greeted me with a big smile as always and made me some space to sit next to him.
âHow was the meeting?â He asked as he saw my tired face.
âUh, donât ask, I made a fool of myself in front of them. They probably think that I have no idea what Iâm doing, and they wonât be wrong. Iâm all over the place today, I even forgot my bag so I had to work from my phone, which has no battery left.â I complained and I buried my head in the palms of my hands. Dave laughed at me and softly ran circles on my back.
âNah, you are beating yourself up again.â He spoke. âAlso, what Marco thinks of the video? Did he like it?â I almost broke my neck when I raised my head fast, as I totally forgot to sent Marco the video. Dave saw my reaction and frowned. âPlease, donât tell me you forgot to send it to him.â I slowly nodded my head at his question, biting on my lips hard. âCall him and apologies immediately, as this will come out very unprofessional.â Dave handed me his charger so I could plug my phone to charge. The moment it started to charge I called Marco immediately. I explained to him the situation and he told me not to worry much just to make sure to sent it to him by four oâclock today. I thanked him and we ended the conversation.
âWell, that went well.â I exhaled as I sat back down next to Dave. I checked my phone, but I still had no response from Ace. âHe gave me time until four oâclock.â I told Dave. He patted me on the shoulder.
âWhy donât you go home and send it now?â He suggested.
âBecause I wasnât at home last night and even my keys are in my backpack.â I mumbled. âWhy wasnât Ace responding?â was all I could think about. âSorry, what?â I asked Dave to repeat as he was asking me something, but I didnât pay him attention.
âI was asking whe-â He got interrupted by my phone ringing. It was an unknown number and I hesitated before I picked up.
âHello?â I spoke.
âHey, (Y/N). Itâs me Luffy.â Luffyâs cheerful voice filled up my ears.
âOh, hey Luffy. Whatâs up?â I was so confused. How did he get my number and why was he calling me.
âAce gave me your number to contact you, as he said you forgot you bag at his place last night and I must bring it to you as soon as possible. So where are you?â My whole mood changed in the span of a second. Why was Ace making Luffy do this? And the thing that offended me was, couldnât he texted me and tell me that Luffy will do it? I would have understood him that he was busy or whatever he was doing right now, but this... this hurt me a bit.
â(Y/N) are you still on the phone?â Luffyâs voice brought me back to Earth.
âYes, yes, sorry. Um, Iâm in university but I can meet you somewhere close to your place, as we live close by, and I need to go home anyway.â I suggested.
âOkay, perfect. How does it sound in one hour, as I need some time to get to Aceâs place.â
âYeah, sure. See you in an hour Luffy.â
âSee you.â He said before hanging up.
The pang in my chest was very unpleasant. Why did he do that? I checked my messages, and he havenât even marked them as read. Did I do something? I started to recall last night in my memories to think of something that might have triggered this behaviour in him, but I couldnât think of anything. I felt a hand on my knee, I looked up and I met Daveâs eyes.
âAre you okay?â His voice sounded concerned.
âYeah, just tired.â I gave him a half smile. âHey, by the way by any chance do you know anyone who might be up to let me use their apartment for my short-cut, as mine is way too small?â I asked him, as this was another thing that I had to stress about.
âI must check with my friends, but I will let you know.â
âThank you, I will also need some extras so if you know anyone who wants to be in front of camera give them my number.â I chuckled.
âI need your number first, before I can give it to other people, you know?â He winked at me.
âWhat? You donât have it?â I exclaimed surprised. Dave clicked with his tongue and shook his head. I gestured him to give me his phone so I could put my number in it. âThere you go.â I nodded at him as I handed him the phone back. I looked at the time and decided that I must leave to where me and Luffy agreed on meeting. âThank you for the charger.â I gave it back to Dave.
âAny plans for tonight?â He asked me before I leave.
âNo, but Iâm planning to stay at home as I really need one night by myself.â I exhaled loudly as I was really tired.
âI understand. Well, if you change your mind let me know.â He got up and hugged me goodbye.
**********
I waited for Luffy close by the supermarket that I knew it was close to his place. The weather got even colder and at this point I was freezing. I was bouncing on one leg to the other trying to keep myself somehow warm as I couldnât feel my toes.
â(Y/N).â I heard Luffyâs voice calling and I turned around. He had a big grin across his face. I waved and started to walk toward him to meet halfway. Luffy gave me a big warm hug. âYou are freezing.â He pointed out as he handed me my bag.
âThank you Luffy, you are a life safer.â I sniffed.
âCome on, I will walk with you.â He said and we headed towards my place. âSo how have you been lately?â
âWell, been better, very stressed lately. But once next week is over, I will be able to finally relax.â I smiled at him as shivers run down my body.
âDo you want my hoodie as well, I have a t-shirt underneath.â That was so nice of him, but I shook my head. âAre you sure?â He asked, his eyes full of concern.
âIâm sure.â I nodded. âBut how are you? Havenât seen you since Halloween.â
âPrety good, preparing for competition.â He responded.
âWhat competition?â
âOh, you might not know but I run marathons. I have already won five, but this one is nothing big, only for people from my university.â He explained.
âWait, you go to university?â I had no idea that Luffy studied, Nami and Usopp have never mentioned anything, and so did Luffy.
âYeah, Iâm studying animation.â His smile grew even bigger.
âWhat? Are you for real?â My eyes widen in surprise. I would have never guessed that Luffy was studying something as hard as animation, I didnât even know that he can draw.
âShihihih, yes, I am.â Luffy laughed at my reaction. âDonât worry everyone react like this, Iâm not the smartest out there, but Iâm not stupid.â He raised his chin. âI might be a little dumb sometimes tho.â He nudged my arm. We laughed together. âBut why are you so stressed?â
âWell, your brothers video first, it was a big challenged. And second the short-cut projects, maybe you have heard about it from Nami or Usopp. I need to find a nice apartment as soon as possible where I can shoot my film.â Tension took over my body once again.
âI can ask Sanji. He lives in a very nice and big apartment, Iâm sure he wouldnât say not.â Luffy pulled out his phone and quickly typed something in it. âDone.â He grinned at me. âI will let you know when he response.â
âOh my God, Luffy you shouldnât have to. Thank you so much.â I gave him a hug. He laughed again.
âNothing to thank me for, Sanji still havenât replied.â
âBut still just the fact that you asked him, is so nice of you.â I smiled at him again. Luffy rubbed his chin and turned his head to look at me.
âBy the way, is something going on between you and my brother?â Another thing about Luffy was that he was very straight forward.
âNo, nothing. We are just friends, thatâs all.â The bitter feeling came back, as I answered Luffyâs question. âWhy?â
âIt was just super strange, like... Ace never lets girls sleep over his place, so when he called me today in the morning to tell me to bring you your stuff, I got quite surprised.â He didnât seem to give it a second thought, for which I was glad. But also, what he said caught my attention. Why wouldnât Ace let girls stay over his place? That was strange.
âNo, Luffy. Nothing is going on between your brother and I.â I repeated to assure myself more than him. âHe just wanted to see the video first and then we just chitchat and it got late, and he offered me to stay over as I was super tired.â Part of what I said was true. âBut could you please not tell anyone, as I donât want people to get the wrong idea, you know...â I looked down at my fingers and nervously played with them.
âDidnât plan to tell anyone anyway.â He winked at me. We reached my place, and we turned to face each other. âI will let you know when Sanji response.â He hugged me.
âThank you, Luffy. You are the best.â I said returning the hug. We said goodbye and I ran to my apartment as I was freezing. The first thing I did when I got inside was to turn my laptop on and sent all the files to Marco. I made myself a cup of tea to warm myself. When all the files for the video were sent to Marco I relaxed a bit. I looked the at clock and it was barely 3PM. Instead of wasting time I pulled my sleeves up and started to work on my final touches for the short-cut. I was so focused on work I didnât realise that almost two hours had passed since I last checked my phone. I had a couple missed calls from Marco, a message from Luffy and one from Usopp. I returned the call to Marco immediately before checking the messages from Luffy and Usopp. The phone rang a few times before he picked up.
âHey, Marco. Sorry for not retur-â Marco interrupted me mid sentence.
â(Y/N), great job with the video. I love it and so did the guys. We will release it on Tuesday. You definitely have the talent for it, kid. Keep the good work going.â He ended the phone call so fast I couldnât process what he just told me. I just nodded to myself before checking the messages from Luffy and Usopp.
âSanji said that you can use his apartment, here is his number to contact him for more info.â I got so happy when I read Luffyâs message. I immediately texted Sanji to thank him and to ask if I could meet with him and see the apartment so I could do my floor plan. Then I moved to Usoppâs message in which he congratulated me on the video.
âThank you, for helping me <3â I texted Usopp back.
I couldnât stop myself from checking if Ace at least marked the messages as read. He didnât. Part of me wanted to text him and ask if he was mad at me for something, but I didnât. He was in one of his moods again. I would just need to wait until he was in the mood to talk with me again, but Iâm not sure how much I would want to speak with him then. I tried to shake him off my mind, as I got back to work.
********
The gym was almost empty due the fact that it was Friday night, so most people were skipping today, so they could get ready for a night out. Law glanced at Ace, who was too focused on his bench press set. Ace was clearly disturbed today, as he hasnât been this moody in a while.
The music was blasting in Aceâs ear as he was focused on his set, not paying attention to anything else. Last night was on repeat in his mind as he couldnât get (Y/N) off from his mind. The things they shared, how much he had opened to her, something he had never done before with another girl. On top of it he let her sleep not only in his house but in his bed. He broke his main rule, no girls over his house. Especially his bed, as in his mind that meant letting someone in your very personal space. And Ace hated to have people not close to his heart invading it. In the morning when he woke up, he had to go to his room as he had to get dressed for the day, but he had forgotten to take some clothes the night before. He entered the room as quietly as possible and quickly grabbed the first pair of jeans and a hoodie he could see. Ace couldnât contain himself and took a glance at (Y/N)âs sleeping form. She was sleeping peacefully all wrapped up in the bedsheets, hugging one of his pillows. Ace smiled at the sight of her. âYeah, you look like the type that likes to cuddlesâ he thought to himself. He cursed under his breath for even thinking that and quickly left the room. No woman before has been let this close to him. He was letting (Y/N) too much into his life. Not only this, but he has never had a cataplexy attack in front of a girl. Yes, he has had his daily narcolepsy episodes in front of girls, but never to a point where his muscles weakness. Part of him was embarrassed, but he was more concerned about the fact that she had this effect on him. On the other hand, it was good that it happened as Ace knew he was about to lose it last night. The way she wrapped her arms around him wanting him closer, knowing that she wanted to kiss him as much as he wanted to kiss her. God he was going to take her right there on the spot. And the moan that had left her lips when they were eating, he could listen to this for hours. He could only imagine how sweet it would sound to listen her moaning and whining under him while he has his ways with her. Whoever had his way with her must be a fool to messed it up so badly. But it didnât mater, as Ace was not going to step over that line with her. She wasnât a girl for a one-night stand, and he couldnât give her what she deserved so he had to keep his distance from now on. Ace wasnât a relationship guy, neither he planned to be anytime soon. So, for a bit he must distance himself form (Y/N) for her own good.
Law dropped the dumbbells he was using and went to where Ace was working out. He was in the middle of his set when he saw Law standing next to his bench to spot him. Ace grunted and breathed out loudly, once he finished with the set and put the barbel back. He rose from the bench sitting up, pulling his headphones on the side.
âI donât need you to spot me.â He spat at Law.
âI can see that.â Law crossed his arms over his chest as he glanced at the added weight to the barbel. âBut you kinda going to die on the spot if you fall asleep pushing 160kg, you know.â He pointed out.
âI wish I can go away that easy.â Â Ace murmured before grabbing his water bottle and taking a sip.
âWhatâs up with you Ace?â Law face got serious and so did his tone. Ace gave him an annoyed look.
âNothing.â He replied putting his headphones back before he laid on the bench press for another set. Ace rolled his eyes as he saw Law not moving away, but instead standing to spot him. He finished with his set and got up to add some more weight to the barbel. Law was just looking at him, wondering what got him so heated up. Adding how stubborn Ace was, Law knew that it would take him some time to make Ace tell him about what was bothering him.
âPushing for a new personal record?â Law looked down at Ace as he loaded the weight. He didnât get any response from Ace as the music was blasting in his ears.
When they were done with their workout before leaving the gym Law asked Ace if he was up for a drink later, even thought he was sure Ace would tell him to fuck off. Surprisingly for Law, Ace agreed. They bit each other goodbye and left the gym. After ten minutes ride Ace parked his motorbike in front of his building. He let a deep sigh once he entered his apartment and closed the door. He threw his gym bag on the floor and went straight to the bathroom. The first thing that caught his attention was the pink toothbrush he left for (Y/N) on the sink corner. He huffed and grabbed the toothbrush ready to throw it away but stopped himself for a second. âWhat if she needs it again?â the thought crossed his mind before he had the time to assimilated it. Realising what just went thought him mind, he threw the toothbrush immediately.
âThe fuck is wrong with me?â He cursed himself as he shook his head in disbelief of his own thoughts. He stripped himself from the sweaty clothes he was wearing and got in the shower. Ace adjusted the water to the coldest and let it run all over his body. His whole body tensed from the ice-cold water. He bit on his lip hard suppressing the groan that wanted to escape his lips. Looking down at his body Ace cursed under his breath again.
âWhat am I now? Fourteen?â He hissed as he wrapped his hand around his hard erection. âCome on, go away.â Ace whined as even the cold water wasnât helping. He ran his hand through his wet hair. Ace closed his eyes as he squeezed his hand around his throbbing cock, letting a low grunt. He took a few deep breathes before moving his hand up and down. The thoughts of (Y/N) occupying his mind once again. This time he let the thoughts of her run through his mind. He couldnât help but imagine her â down on her knees, looking at him from under her lashes. The way her (eyes colour) eyes would beg him to fuck her mouth. She might not be a virgin, but he would definitely need to teach her how to please him. Ace took a sharp breath just thinking of this. âYes, yes I will teach you everything you need to know, dollâ a smirk appeared on his face when he thought of it. She was smart, so she would learn fast. He would make sure to teach her exactly how to wrap her pretty lips around him.
âFuck.â Ace grunt as he threw his head back just thinking of her lips. The way they would feel kissing and wrapping around his dick. Ace propped his hand on the wall while fasting the pace around his painfully hard length. To have her, right here, right now would feel like heaven. Ace would be gentle with her, at least at first. He would let her take her time, as she would lick like a kitten the pre-cum leaking from his pink tip. Then the way she would wrap her pretty lips around it and give a twist with her tongue. She would cover it all with kisses while giving him slow stokes, preparing herself to take it. To then watch her struggle taking all of him in her pretty mouth, having to wrap her hand around what she couldnât take. Ace would lose it then, as he wouldnât be able to control himself anymore and just start to fuck her sweet mouth. The way he would wrap his hand around her hair, pulling and guiding her how to please him. A loud moan escaped his lips as he felt that he was getting close. The image of her, on her knees, his cock in her mouth, having her choking on it while hearing her begging whines and tears running down her eyes while he deepthroat fucks her. The more he was thinking of it the closer he was getting. If she was here, the way Ace imagined her, he would make sure to paint her face with his cum. Her pretty face, all covered with his hot cum, dripping down on her and her pretty lips. This though alone made his whole body twitched and his hips jerked as he gave himself one last stroke and cum spilled all over his hand and wall. Ace cursed loudly as he threw his head back from the feeling of release. His chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as he tried to collect himself.
It took him sometime to calm himself down as he felt the cold water on his back. He quickly switched the water to a normal temperature as washed his body. Ace cursed himself again. Maybe the reason he was so attracted to (Y/N) was because he restrained himself. If he had already fucked her maybe she wouldnât have crossed his mind ever again. He just needed to get laid that was it, and he was planning to do it tonight.
Ace got out of the shower and grabbed his towel wrapping it around his hips. When he entered the bedroom, his eyes landed on the unmade bed and his white t-shirt that he saw (Y/N) wore while sleeping. He grabbed the t-shirt, and the smell of her perfume hit him. Ace went and threw it in the laundry basket frustrated. Last thing he needed right now was a piece of clothing that smelled like her. He took his phone and looked at the time. It was already nine oâclock. Ace quickly towel dried his hair and tried to style it but gave up leaving it falling messy around his face. He put a black sweatshirt on with a dark grey pants and a belt around his waist. Grabbing his jacket and keys Ace left his place.
It took him twenty minutes to reach the place where he and Law usually hang out. The bar was very known around Grand Line. Ace entered the place and looked around for Law. He was sitting by the bar and when he saw Ace he waved at him. Ace nodded and walked to Law, taking the seat next to him. Law was wearing a white loose fit unbuttoned shirt with some dark blue pants.
âWhat are you drinking?â Ace asked him.
âOld fashion.â Law replied while taking a sip of his drink. Ace nodded and turned to order to the bartender who gave him a charming smile. Ace smiled at her and made his order. While making it she didnât take her eyes off him.
âOne âOld Fashionââ She said sultry while placing the drink in front of Ace. He just winked at her and gave her an extra tip when he paid. âThank you, let me know if you would like something else.â She returned the winked and went away. Ace chuckled and took a sip of his drink.
âSo, are you in better mood now?â Law wasted no time getting straight to the point.
âWhat made you think I wasnât in a good mood earlier?â Ace turned to the side to look at Law.
âCome on, Ace. Whatâs with you recently? Especially today.â Law crossed his arms waiting for Aceâs respond.
âNothing, I told you.â Ace took another sip of his drink.
âAce Iâm not buying this shit.â Law knew that something was bothering his friend, and he wasnât planning to drop it that easy. âIs everything okay at home?â he couldnât think of anything else that might get Ace this worked up.
âAs far as I know, yeah.â Ace bluntly answered. Law rubbed his beard frowning his brows at him. âLaw drop it, man. Iâm... Iâm fine.â Ace started to tap his fingers on his glass avoiding looking at Law. They stayed like this for a moment before Ace broke the silence. âDid you fix things with Robin?â
âKinda.â Law murmured. Ace raised his eyebrow at him. âShe wants something serious, and Iâm not sure that I can give her that.â Ace snorted when he heard Lawâs response. He raised the glass to his lips to take a sip of it but couldnât contain his laughter so Ace burst out laughing. Law pushed his shoulder, making Ace look at him.
âSorry, bro. Just...â Ace started to laugh again.
âMan, whatâs so funny?â Law was so confused by Aceâs reaction.
âYou two have been on and off for two years, at this point make up your minds.â Ace chuckled. âDamn, and I thought I have it bad..â He murmured under his nose.
âWait, what?â Law raised his brows confusion. âIs this whole attitude thing because of a girl?â Ace clenched his jaw and side-eyed Law. Now it was Lawâs turn to burst out laughing.
âOh, shut up.â Ace rolled his eyes at him. Law continued to chuckle when he looked at Ace and tried to calm himself. He cleared his throat before speaking.
âItâs not the blonde girl, what was her name Savanna?â
âSamantha and no. She was just a quick fuck, even tho she hasnât stop blowing my phone.â Ace rubbed his temples.
âOh, oh, I have a guess.â Law smirk as Ace glanced at him. âItâs the little director, isnât it?â The way Ace clenched his fingers around the glass told Law everything he needed to know. âHell, Iâm right, it is about (Y/N).â Just the mentioned of her name made his whole body tense. âSo, care to share?â Law chuckled.
âNothing is happening between us, so there is nothing to share. We are... just... I donât know, not really friends letâs say acquaints.â He shrugged.
âYeah, sure. Donât think Iâm blind.â Law snorted. âThe tension you two had on set could be felt from miles away. And the looks you were giving to the guy behind the camera...â He mocked Ace, who was clearly getting worked up all over again. âSo, care to explain exactly what is going on between her and you?â Law was patiently waiting for Ace to start talking. Ace cursed under his breath before looking at his friend.
âShe slept over last night.â Ace murmured. Lawâs eyes widen as he heard this. That was definitely something new. âWe didnât do anything, tho. We could of but I got cataplexy attack. Which has never ever happened before with a girl.â His cheeks started to flush. âAnd another thing is that she listens, man. Not only listens, but she also understands me. I have opened to her about some personal stuffs can you believe it?â Ace spat; Law was carefully listening to him. âBut that is not like my main problem right now...â He started to massage his temples, deep breath escaping his lips. âI know that I donât like her, like... you know something serious as I donât want anything serious, but at the same time Iâm weirdly attracted to her, and I think it is because I restrain myself.â
âWhat do you mean by ârestrainâ yourself?â Law raised his eyebrow confused.
âI canât sleep with her.â Ace fussed. âShe is so close to Luffyâs friends, and they are the same age, come on. I see all people at Luffyâs age as kids.â He took a big sip of his drink almost finishing it. âOn top of it she is Shanksâ niece.â Ace added, giving Law a knowing look.
âAce itâs just four years. Plus, she seems, well, she is quite smart girl, so I think you are the one who makes it too complicated, not her.â Law couldnât really see the problem. When they were filming the video together it was clearly that there was some chemistry between them. âPlus, you can always be like fuckbuddies, no feelings attached just sex. Just sleep with her once, and if you continue to feel that way then get all this moody and shit.â
âShe will get attached.â Ace whined. âShe told me that she had slept with a guy only once, and it was bad on top of it, so basically, she is a fucking virgin.â Law nodded understanding at Aceâs statement. âAnd she is a very nice girl. You know, I will feel bad to just use her for one night.â He might be an asshole, but he wasnât that big of an ass, to play with someone like (Y/N)âs feelings.
âSo, what do you plan to do then?â Law was carefully studying his friendâs face.
âDistant myself for now. But this time for real, as I tried before but... never mind. I just need to get laid thatâs all.â Ace explained, his eyes not leaving now the empty glass. Law decided to not say anything further. The solution was easy but Ace was stubborn, so it was pointless to give him any advice.
A few drinks later, both Ace and Law were having a good laugh; talking about the band upcoming projects, and things that both were interested in. Time flew fast and it was around midnight when something caught Aceâs attention mid-conversation. He squeezed his eyes trying to see better. His eyes landed on a girl, and she looked super familiar from the back. Was that (Y/N)? The hair was the same colour and length. She also seemed to be the same height. He hesitated for a moment before he turned to Law and told him that he would be back in a second. Ace slowly made his way to the girl. If it was (Y/N) what was he going to tell her? Why was he even going to check if it was her, when he literally told himself to keep his distance with her. It was the alcohol. Yes, he can blame it on the alcohol. And if it was her, he could just say âhelloâ and thatâs it, out of politeness. He felt his heart beating faster as he was close to approach the girl. When he stood behind her, he gently tapped her on the shoulder. She quickly turned around, and it wasnât her. The girl flashed him a cute smile.
âYes, can I help you?â She fluttered her lashes at Ace.
âOh, sorry. I mistook you for someone else.â Ace smiled at her and was about to turn around and leave when she put her hand on his shoulder to stop him.
âHey, not so fast.â She flashed him a smile. âIâm Diane.â
âAce.â He replied. Ace took a better look at her. She low-key looked like (Y/N), not as pretty, but still nice. âHow is your night going Diane?â A smug smile formed on his face.
âPretty good. Always can get better.â She bit her lip, her tone sultry. âWho were you looking for?â
âDoesnât matter. Came across something better.â Ace saw the way her cheeks blushed. These clichĂ© lines were always working. Not always, he knew someone who was going to roll her eyes and tell him to come up with something better. But Ace shook away the thought of (Y/N). He had her low-key doppelganger here, so it would work for the night.
âAre you alone here?â She wrapped a curl around her finger and played with it.
âI have my friend over there.â He pointed at Law. âWould you ladies mind us joining you?â Ace nodded his head and looked at the two other girls sitting with Diane, flashing them a charming smile. They all giggled and told him that they wouldnât mind. Ace turned to look at Law who was looking at his direction. He nodded his head at Law to come and join them. Law got up and made his way to them. He introduced himself to the girls and started to chitchat with them. They were giggling and blushing at him. Law wasnât planning on doing anything with anyone tonight as he had promised Robin to go to her place after, but still little flirting with some girls wouldnât hurt anyone. It didnât go unnoticed by him that the girl Ace was focused on was quite similar in looks to (Y/N). Law has been there before and done that. Trying to fill the void he was feeling with girls looking like Robin, but at the end of the day none of them were her. Law didnât want to say anything to Ace, as he knew how his friend stands on relationships, but the whole âI will keep my distanceâ or âwe will just be friendsâ bullshit wasnât going to work. At the end Ace was either going to end up in the same situation as Law, or maybe worse.
Another hour passed and Law received a message from Robin, asking him where he was. That was his reminder that the night for him was over. He excused himself to the girls and went to Ace to tell him goodbye.
âYou are leaving?â Ace asked surprised. His eyes were half lidded since he got way too many drinks tonight.
âYeah, man. Robin is waiting for me.â Law patted him on the shoulder. âTake care tonight, okay?â Ace rolled his eyes at Law and waved him goodbye. Law took one last glanced at his friend before leaving.
âWanna go to your place?â Ace smirked at Diane who was sitting in his lap. He ran his fingers up and down her shoulder and neck. She cupped his face and eagerly smacked her lips on his. Ace returned the kiss, taking her lower lip between his teeth biting it. The kiss quickly grew hot as Aceâs hands started to roam all over her body. âShould I take this as an âyesâ?â He whispered in her ear. Goosebumps ran all over her body and she just nodded her head. She called an uber and they quickly left.
Her hair might have not been as soft to touch as (Y/N)âs, neither her skin smelled as sweet as hers, and the way her eyes were looking at his didnât spark any flame in him. But she was just for the tonight. And she had similar look to her. He didnât even need to look at her face. The moment they laid on her bed, Ace turned her on her stomach, bending her over. And something dark took over him. He did care for the pleasure of the girls he was sleeping with. Always taking his time with them, making them feeling good first. But tonight, he was selfish. This girl wasnât (Y/N). She was a cheap replica, nothing close to what he would feel or do to her if his doll was here. Even her moans didnât sound anything close to hers. But again, this wasnât the biggest problem. The biggest problem was the fact that (Y/N) wasnât leaving his mind. And this was something that has never ever happened before. Somehow, she had found her way to get under his skin and he needed to burn her from there as soon as possible.

END NOTE: I really hope you guys enjoyed it. I know that the 'smut' part wasn't anything wow, but I'm just testing the waters with it. At first it was totally different and it wasn't planned to be for Ace, but now I'm happy that I decided to write it for him, as in a way it suits his character more. Please let me know what your thoughts about it and what could I change in the future for when I'm writing a smut (u can either comment or message me). Also I felt so awkward writing it, but is it a fanfic if there is no smut in it? Feel free to comment and reblog, much love <333

Them influencing each other to the point where their opinions change on a FUCKING DIME: sonic: I dont have an opinion on orbot shadow: he sucks sonic: he sucks shadow: hes the best sonic: hes the best They really are so obsessed with each other it's concerning. If it were up to them they would spend their whole lives 'competing'. And these 'Competitions' 'Races' or whatever feel a lot like excuses to just be around each other. Oooooooooh their endless excuses. what is sonic's problem too? shadow opens up a smidge and the little blue bitch giggles. but i understand things had to be kept light for what theyre doing... i dont think sonic means to be... a little blue bitch. If they were alone i'd like to think sonic would be much more understanding and hear him out. But with possible kiddos listening in they couldn't get too deep into things. If it wasn't a 'Q&A Twitter/Tiktok' thing, and it was just them, I feel like they would talk all day and night. But they were getting to know each other and ahhh if was amazing. Hearing Shadow talk about himself and Sonic wanting to get to know him is the best and sweetest thing and all I was REALLY hoping for. Them just actually just sitting down and talking.
Deep thoughts:
Though I have been wondering what Shadow's beef with Sonic really boils down to. I highly doubt it but maybe Sonic reminds him more of Maria than he even wants to believe? Maybe at times he even sounds like her? Idk ??? How carefree and enthusiastic she was, helping shadow come out of his shell. IDK im a sonic noob !! He probably feels like this about a lot of people!
I can understand that there's more parallels with Maria and Amy than with Sonic and Amy. Putting myself in Shadow's shoes; I have a sister, I love like Shadow loves Maria. We are the best fucking friends. I can talk to her about ANYTHING. We're a team. But when it comes to finding a romantic partner, I dont want to look at my partner and just think of my sister lmao. But I would like a similar feeling. Comfortable, understanding, to have that team work, and able to talk about anything to them. And I think Sonic and Shadow have that if things were different I guess. Although Sonic doesn't always talk Shadow down from a decision, it does seem like they both can come to an agreement. "Two sides of the same coin". Like yeah, Sonic might've not been able to change Shadow's mind on going back to the Ark BUT I feel like Sonic probably wouldn't even try. I feel like he would probably even offer to join him for back up. IDK IDK IDK !!!! IM NEW TO SONIC STILL and all i've really seen of the two is some Game clips, some IDW stuff, and of course Sonic X and Sonic Prime. And some of the things my sister has told me. I got most of my IDW knowledge from her and pintrest ghhghg LiSTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN I know sonadow will never be canon, I KNOW !!!! i accept that. Sonamy runs this bitch and Im not even mad and I dont even care. honest to god i do not care. I just like Sonadow and will die on this stupid hill SO HAPPILY. But also it would be so funny if they were to be canon one day. I would lose my fucking mind and throw up. so for my own sanity and health, im glad that theyre never gonna be a thing. im sorry, but im already half way to calling my doctor. i dont think i can handle an official kiss. It's just pure brainrot thinking about how their complicated relationship would work. Love isn't just as simple as 1+1 , this shit has the whole alphabet and the whole fuckin pi in there and it could all add up to 0. I'm solving a math problem for fun BECAUSE IM STUPID AND LIKE TO SUFFER âŒâŒâŒâŒâŒâŒ But they said the same thing about Bubbline and Korra/Asami and look how that turned out. It would be funny but at the same time reality would probably shatter and sonadow would have to save it again- like my profile says, Im gay and like gay things. let me perish.
I'm honestly the biggest yapper. I go quiet, think about shit, and open up like a shaken up soda can.
TLDR; sonadow takeover made me explode
#rot yappings#my mind wont shut up#lights are on but my mind's mind is not home#the voices are saying gay gay homosexual gay#i could yap more#this brainrot has the TIGHTEST CHOKE HOLD on me its not even funny#the world sucks and sonadow is keeping me sane as much as its driving me insane#i could brainrot to my sis too but im too shy to#perish with meeee <3#im actually a sonadow hater cause THESE MFS ARE RUINING MY LIFEE

What do you think of this idea for a scenario? Reader losing their soul to Overlord! Husk in a poker game. It will be amazing if the reader starts as arrogant, thinking they can beat the cat in his own game. Then, after an intense match, their confidence turns to fear and regret when Husk puts the last card on the table and shows that he has won.
Warning, I know NOTHING about poker, so this might be short as I can't do any specifics :( Yet I hope I get my point across.
House Always Wins
Yandere! Overlord! Husker Scenario
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Possessive behavior, Stalking, Ownership, Soul deals, Forced relationship implied.
Gambling is a pass time for many demons. Greed breeds arrogance and many Sinners tend to show off at the casino. You were no different...
Poker's your favorite game.
Money is a common thing to bet. You've bet tons of it and been confident in your craft. You've won many games... It's all just a fun game.
But, of course, greed drives people to get addicted...
You needed to up the stakes.
For a long time you have been trying to get yourself to Overlord status. Demons naturally crave power. Sinners wish to become Overlords... Overlords wish to become stronger...
It's a social ladder.
Confidence is such a poisonous emotion. It only brings in trouble to those who have too much of it. Having a little isn't too bad... but too much can cloud your judgment.
Husker could practically smell you as a potential challenge.
Husker had been hearing rumors of a Sinner trying to make it big in the casino. He's an Overlord who frequents this place and considers it his territory in a way. So the idea of someone else being a threat to his title...
He certainly felt he should look into it.
During your games you had always felt you had eyes on you. Your feelings were confirmed when you turned one day to see Husker watching you with intrigued eyes. He enjoys watching your games, shuffling his cards thoughtfully as his tail sways.
What a tantalizing Sinner you are... acting like you run the place....
If you want to move up in Hell's social ladder, challenging an Overlord is certainly the way to go. The idea of power... of feeding your ego... it's a temptation sweeter than any vice. As tension grows between you and the Overlord... you feel as though you're being drawn in...
Eventually, you get up from your seat, strolling to the Overlord's table before leaning on the table.
"How about we play a game?"
A bold move coming from you... dangerous too.... However, Husker didn't mind. You looked like a fun prize to toy with.
"How about we make it a deal, then?" Husker's voice is a purr as he considers your offer. You merely grin back, confidence flowing through your veins with no drinks needed.
Or... not many.
"If you win, I'll give you my soul... If I win I get your title as Overlord."
It's a bold deal, one that makes Husker laugh. Eventually he calms down, shaking your hand lightly before gesturing to sit. He could tell you were confident...
Too confident, actually.
Your naiveté is adorable.
"A fine deal... Hope you provide a good challenge to back up all that talk." Husker chuckles, readjusting his suit as he watches you sit. "Make this worth my while, will you?"
It's then chips are put out... cards are placed...
Then the game begins.
Husker finds your arrogance adorable. There's times he himself feels this way when it comes to gambling. However... He knows how to control himself for the most part...
You do not.
You are such a fun challenge for the cat. He's been trying to see how challenging you'd be since he first saw you. Now he's quite pleased to see you in action...
Even more pleased to see your confidence slowly crumble as he beats you round after round.
Each round Husker manages to slap down the winning hand. Each round he takes more chips. Each round you begin to realize what you signed up for.
"Cat got your tongue?" The Overlord in front of you teases, leaning on the table as you struggle to look at your hand. "Where's all that confidence gone? You have such a cute look on your face when you think you're going to win...."
By the last round, you can't even bring yourself to watch as Husk puts down the last card. It's a winning hand and you know it. You can hear Husker chuckle at your sudden meek behavior...
You know what comes next...
Especially when you feel a chain click around your neck, Husker looking all proud of himself.
"According to my deal, you get to be my prize." Husker grins, fangs glinting as he yanks on the soul chain.
"It was a good game, don't you think? Always great to exploit over confident fools... You put up a good fight though." Husker praises as you're brought close to him.
"Thanks for playing..." Husker purrs, claws caressing your cheek as though he's studying a precious gem...
"I think I'll enjoy my new prize, darling."

How are you dealing with Tarlos being over? Iâm seriously not good. It helps that Ronen said they are best friends off screen but knowing that we will never see them together again is really making me sad.
Hello! Thank you for this question. Firstly, a huge internet hug for you because I really feel your pain đâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž and this is a topic we're all grappling with I'm sure. In terms of Tarlos as characters, I'm trying not to look at it as them being totally 'over' because they and the other characters can live on through art and fanfic, just like they did during the hiatuses between seasons. We didn't need 'new' canon content to keep creating. We just...kept creating. Although this was perhaps fuelled by looking forward to the showâs return, I don't see why that has to be all that different now. There are fandoms that revolve around single books, single movies, and thrive on a lot less content than we have to work with.Â
However, I appreciate that you might not be a reader of fic, and indeed even if you areâŠ..The show itself and the physical portrayal of these characters is certainly ending far too soon, and honestly I fucking hate that. I feel sad in my body. I'd go as far to say I'm actually bitter about it, and bitterness is a horrible, horrible feeling! I keep thinking â if we hadn't had a season 3, we'd have missed out on so many amazing moments on screen, culminating in the proposal. If we hadn't had a season 4, we'd have missed out on the soulmates scene and the wedding! No season 5, no seeing TK being flung onto a dresser, no dancing at the party, none of the Enzo/Jonah/Carlos' investigation stuff that I'm LOVING. Which leaves me with this strong ache as I wonder what we are missing out on with no season 6, 7, 8...Â
So, the silver lining is that the fandom will make the best out of a shit situation creatively, but it is a shit situation in reality. I think it's absolutely fine for us to mourn this loss and be there for each other, because those of us who profoundly love this show and Tarlos are all in it together and understand the magnitude. I am certainly in a weird state of grief not related to death but related to this different kind of loss, and there will always be part of me hurting over this thing I love so much. I only found the show after season 3 and it just doesn't feel like I've had enough time with it. I havenât had enough fun!
I hope we do get to see Ronen and Rafa reunite again from time to time. Theyâll be at the Paris convention in December, and maybe others along the way if their schedules allow. I was lucky enough to go to the one in June last year and Ronen, Rafa, Natacha and Sierra certainly did appear to be very close irl, so definitely do take heart in that â itâs a reason to believe weâll get at least glimpses of them together going forward.
So yeah. Iâm finding good things where I can in all this, but the headline is that I really am sad and struggling too, and Iâm so sorry you are and I hope youâre able to fill your day with things that help you to feel a bit better. I hope everyone who reads this is able to do the same.
