yeah for sure do not buy them. there's also a bunch of free PDFs online you can read!! or check them out through libby or whatever online library service your local library uses if you don't mind reading from your phone.

gonna use this chance to highlight issues with warriors under the cut!! because i've spent so much time being with this series i have a lot of thoughts. i want to let you know i am not trying to cancel warriors or anything, there's just a lot of issues and i like talking about it.

CW: misogyny, pedophilia, ablism, racism

Okay, we're going to start with the more annoying aspects. First of all, Warriors is written by a ton of different people. They have the main writers outline the plot, and there's a bunch of other people that fill in all the empty space. Kind of an interesting way to do it, but that's why Warriors is able to publish several books a year. Erin Hunter is just a penname for a group.

INCONSISTENCIES

Why do I bring this up, what's the issue? The inconsistencies, dude. There's so many. Character appearances change between books. Dovewing's eye color changes frequently, for example, to the point where there was an internet war about how she would be represented on the Warriors Wiki. Another example is Mapleshade, a cat that's been prevalent as a villain since Crookedstar's Promise. In that book, she's referred to as a ginger-and-white she-cat, but after that she's been described as a calico (er, tortishelle-and-white, because Erin Hunter is somehow allergic to the word calico). Appearances aren't the only inconsistency. Character personalities are a big issue. After the first arc especially, characters will lose what charm they had in their personalities. Suddenly Spottedleaf is in love with Fireheart/star after she dies, suddenly Yellowfang is unwelcoming towards cats who find themselves breaking the Warrior Code (despite being a codebreaker herself and having compassion toward other cats while she was alive). The authors also seem to have trouble keeping track of characters. On one page Sandstorm leaves camp to go on patrol, and a paragraph later she is seen STILL in camp, talking to someone, despite having been written to leave camp. It's a very bizarre series to read. (Other inconsistencies include miswriting names [Ravepaw incident], using the wrong pronouns, and entirely confusing cats between each other). Heavystep also died a few times because the Erins forgot that he died.

MISOGYNY

Outside of poor writing, we're hit with misogyny. Main female characters, in POV, are written at least a little bit better than any of the other she-cats. However, as soon as the next arc starts and she's put out of the limelight, the authors have to give her a mate, give her kits, and make her a mother. There is only ONE POV she-cat I can think of that didn't die and never had kits. Twigbranch is literally the only one. This isn't a dig at being a mother at all, however whenever the Erins DO make a former main character a mother, that's the only trait they give them. Rarely do these she-cats continue to carry the personalities they were given initially.

It's not even a secret that the fandom dislikes when every she-cat is boiled down to being just a babymaker. The Erins literally killed off a she-cat because the fans didn't like the fact that her only personality trait was mom. Yes, this actually did happen.

There's lots of victim-blaming misogyny with whatever is going on between Squirrelflight and Bramblestar and between Leafpool and StarClan. Bramblestar will literally say the worst things to Squirrelflight and the narrative makes it seem like he's in the right. It's not wrong to display unhealthy relationships in media, but if you're writing a KID'S SERIES, it's extremely irresponsible to constantly write the victim as being wrong. This applies to how StarClan blames Leafpool for everything that's happened to her, despite the fact that Crowfeather was also a part of the equation.

Don't even get me started about Spottedleaf's Heart. In summary, Spottedleaf was groomed by Thisteclaw from when she was a kit (and he was a Warrior), and the narrative only makes Thistleclaw a bad guy because he was training in the Dark Forest, not because he is a predator.

ABLEISM

It's absolutely crazy how ableist this series is. In arc one, we have Brightpaw, an apprentice who gets mauled by dogs, and as Bluestar watched, as what she thought was going to be her death bed, she decided to give her her warrior name- a name that she would be stuck with in StarClan. She chose "Lostface." Brightpaw would eventually recover, loosing one of her eyes in the attack, and would live with being called Lostface until Firestar was able to rename her (to Brightheart). The whole renaming thing feels gross enough, but Brightheart is probably the best case scenario of ableism in Warriors, as she was allowed to function as a regular Warrior in the clan. Cinderpelt wasn't so lucky. She was a Warrior apprentice who got hit by a car, mangling her leg. She was then forced to become a Medicine Cat because she "couldn't hunt or fight" (despite the fact that real world cats are able to function completely normally while missing a limb). Longtail lost his vision in a fight with rabbits and he was retired early to the elder's den, despite wanting to be a Warrior. Jayfeather was blind, so he was made a Medicine Cat despite wanting to be a Warrior. Briarlight was paralyzed, so she was put in the Medicine Cat den most of the time despite wanting to be a Warrior. This is a very common theme in the series. Any cat who isn't fully able-bodied is often made to be a Medicine Cat or an Elder, even if that's not what they want. Literally every single Medicine Cat in ThunderClan since Spottedleaf through to Alderheart never wanted to be a Medicine Cat.

Being a Medicine Cat isn't supposed to be a bad role, but the way Warriors uses it as a cop-out to make disabled cats have a more "plot interesting" role without allowing them to be a Warrior is really weird.

ANTI-INDIGENOUS WRITING

I'm not the most knowledgeable person on this topic, however, many Indigenous readers have brought up a lot of issues the series has in terms of being culturally insensitive to native tribes. There's a well-written document that explains this in full detail.

IT'S KIND OF JUST BAD?

The writing isn't good. This goes back to the multi-writer issue. These people can't keep track of their characters or plot, so a lot of things just sort of fall flat. The best plotlines can be found in some of the novellas and graphic novels, and then I think it's because they're mostly written by one person.

How come StarClan can be so vague to living cats, but when we get POV in StarClan, they just act like normal cats? How come Ashfur randomly was super powerful in the Dark Forest/StarClan, while every other cat wasn't? There's just a lot of unexplained stuff, it's very weird.

Warriors is a very interesting series because it's pretty bad yet the fandom is huge. I definitely recommend watching Warriors Multi-Animator-Projects, reading fancomics, and fix-it fanfics instead of actually reading the books. The fans are so, so talented, it's crazy how a never-ending series of children's cat books has created such an insane fanbase.

Ahsoka 1x01 1x02 Thoughts/Questions

Spoilers for Ahsoka of course, and spoilers for Star Wars Rebels.

WHAT IS SABINE’S CAT’S NAME???? This is unironically my number one question. What if she named it Ezra.

Wtf is up with Morgan Elsbeth being a nightsister? She’s very clearly human and not the same species as Talzin, Ventress, and Merrin, etc. Is Dave bringing back the concept of a group of human Nightsisters from the EU? (In which case, I’d like to see Teneniel Djo please.) Morgan says she’s a “descendant of the witches of Dathomir,” does that mean she could be part Nightsister but mostly human? Worth noting she is clearly able to do at least a bit of Nightsister magick in the scene with the map- she summons green smoke while opening it. Why the inconsistency in species? It seems silly to suddenly have a human Nightsister character when it’s needlessly confusing.

Also, the instant she said she was a Nightsister and a survivor I was like “who does she think she is ripping off Merrin like this?!” I will not tolerate this dollar store knockoff wannabe.

Update: checked the wiki and apparently there were a few small human Nightsister clans (the Singing Mountain clan is apparently still canon!), but mostly it was the big Dathomirian Nightsister clan led by Mother Talzin. Morgan could be from one of the smaller human clans. I think she just feels annoying to me because it’s like someone saw how cool Merrin is, thought she’d be a good villain for this, and then took the character concept wholesale for a piece of Star Wars media that’s more mainstream, but didn’t put in the work so it falls flat. And then her being human just makes it weirder. I wonder who made the decision to use the Nightsisters for this storyline, because doesn’t… fit. Even Morgan’s name is odd. Just feels like no effort was put into the character.

How did Ahsoka find Huyang? I’m so curious when and how this happened. I’m really happy to see him in this though, I loved him in Clone Wars.

Ahsoka can do psychometry now! Can we please get some canon Ahsoka and Cal Kestis interactions? Rebellion era would probably be best but I’m not picky. Obviously Cal’s abilities in that area are a lot stronger, but it’s nice he’s not alone and it’d be great to see them interact. They’re almost the same age, but just far enough apart that their experiences since Order 66 have been radically different.

Mando/Din spending seasons raising a Jedi foundling and Ahsoka taking on a non-Force-sensitive Mandalorian as a padawan is so funny to me. The irony of the inverse.

It’s also the perfect continuation of the disaster lineage attitude imo. Obi-Wan “I’ll train the kid you all say is too old to train” Kenobi, then Anakin and Ahsoka’s… you know, Anakin and Ahsoka-ing, and now Ahsoka’s like “I’ll take a regular non-Force-Sensitive person as a padawan.”

Merrin and Sabine would get along, I think.

Sabine being like 30 and still acting exactly like a rebellious teenager feels like a cry for help to me. :( I’m glad Hera seems to have her back, and it’s good that she has a cat, but I’m worried about her. It makes sense, but gosh poor Sabine. I’m sensing depression. She’s had such a tough life and a tough time with the concept of family, it feels like losing Ezra was the last straw for her emotionally.

Actually, where is Sabine’s biological family? Are Ursa, Tristan, and Alrich okay? Or did they not survive the Mandalorian Purge? (God no I WILL cry. Also @ Dave where is Korkie, why is Bo-Katan calling herself the last Kryze.)

So wait, the rest of the crew has spent 15 years thinking Ezra’s dead?? He said to come find him! I always felt like he was pretty clear he wasn’t dying when he pulled his purrgil stunt. Did they all just turn pessimistic and lose hope? That’s so sad.

I actually really love Sabine kind of being the Republic’s version of Thrawn as an expert art analyst. Continues the Sabine/Thrawn contrast Rebels started where Thrawn analyzes art in a more academic fashion and treats the culture it came from as a curiosity- he’s very into cultural appropriation!!- while Sabine makes her own art and is more capable of stepping into other people’s shoes to appreciate their art.

Ahsoka refusing to train Sabine because she’s too busy being sad and lonely, and Sabine refusing to talk to Ahsoka or train (or give speeches) because she’s too busy being sad and lonely. This is so sad and I want to hug them both.

It works because we have a new actress playing Ahsoka, but I’m so curious what this would have been like animated. Ahsoka feels similar enough to herself but very different, because she’s in such a different place emotionally, and I’m curious how this would’ve felt in animation with Ashley doing the voice.

There were a few scenes where I felt like I was watching a live action Rebels episode and it was the best! The entire sequence with Sabine on the hover bike getting away from her own New Republic squad lol, Hera in the Phantom with Chopper chasing after the ship and planting the tracker. Chopper not being able to find the tracker until Hera told him where it was felt SPOT ON.

The T-6 actually looks pretty roomy and comfortable so far. Like, not the best living situation, but it looks way bigger than the Falcon! Heck, it looks bigger than Ezra’s tower that Sabine’s living in.

That said, Ahsoka having not had a real home since leaving the Jedi Temple is killing me. She really has some abandonment/attachment/commitment issues she needs to work on. Extremely understandable issues given what happened, but it’s like after the end of Rebels she just… quit. Maybe finding out Kanan was gone and then coming back to find Ezra gone was the last straw for her.

I also feel like her giving up on Sabine’s training was because of how her own training ended and Anakin’s fall shortly after. She doesn’t feel capable of dealing with the feelings stirred up by having a student. So she just doesn’t.

What in the world is with the map showing another galaxy?? Yuuzhan Vong vibes. (The way they were almost canon because we were supposed to get a Clone Wars episode with them… :’( )

Why DO the Nightsisters have a map to another galaxy? Didn’t they mostly stay on Dathomir? I can buy them having outposts like the ruins where Ahsoka found the map in an era when they left the planet more, but a map to whole other galaxy seems a bit off. Space exploration on that scale doesn’t seem like something they would do. I wonder if maybe the map is a relic from someone else that they picked up. I like the Rakata theory I saw floated by someone. I could see the Nightsisters picking up a Rakatan map. Those guys left random stuff everywhere iirc.

Does the Eye of Sion have anything to do with Darth Sion? (Of KOTOR 2 fame)

Also wondering where Ahsoka’s Gandalf the White outfit is? Guessing she won’t get it until the end of the show. She has to go through her journey first. I wonder if the if it’ll mirror the Topps cards Filoni did after Twilight of the Apprentice at all.

It’s really sad to me that this show is coming out during the strike, because I really need Filoni commentary on things. Actor commentary would be great as well. This is ridiculous, the studios need to pay the people who make things a fair wage.

Shoutout to Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s portrayal of Sabine so far. She feels JUST like Sabine and it’s great. We haven’t really seen enough of Hera yet for me to comment on Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s acting. (It was so weird seeing Hera be taller than Ahsoka though lol.) And Sabine had much more of an arc in these two episodes than Ahsoka did so I can’t really comment on Rosario’s Ahsoka either. Will say she’s been excellent so far, especially in her first appearance in the Mandalorian episode. Looking forward to seeing more!

My Twisted Wonderland Yuu-sona and Obey me Yuki-sona for my fanfic

Basically my OC of my own Yuu-sona or Yuki-sona for these two games. Mostly based on Obey Me Lore since I thought...hey...they both started with "Yu" so why not...and im kinda lazy to do OCs since they're basically the same imo.

Name: Yuki Hitsuji 

Obey Me’s default MC name [Yuki] is used instead of Yuu is because they both began with “Yu”. So it can be Yuki or Yuuki.  Hitsuji is used as her last name because I like to have words like what Twisted Wonderland’s characters are named. Hitsuji is Sheep in Japanese and since Obey Me MC is a sheep…yeah

Alternative Name that I thought of in the middle of writing my long series crossover: Yuuki Lambert (Reason: Lamb-ert hehe)

Reason: I imagine living in hell is a nightmare no matter how attractive the characters are. It’s still hell. So even tho, it's stated that MC is very adaptable...I imagine her first days in the Devildom and has to quickly think ahead to survive.

Has trouble at lying (Based in Obey me wiki)

[Yuki had a pet peeve of avoiding eye contact with the person she’s lying to and blinking continuously whenever she told a lie. She would often speak before she thought hence she would jumble her words in an attempt to hide her secret.]

Inspiration: Luci said so somewhere in the game so why not.

Cat returns to Riverrun, gets caught up on what she missed, officially puts Brienne's name of the team roster, and has a moment with two of the most important men in her life, her dying father, and dead husband.

He went on to tell how the remnants of Ser Stafford's host had fallen back on Lannisport. Without siege engines there was no way to storm Casterly Rock, so the Young Wolf was paying the Lannisters back in kind for the devastation they'd inflicted on the riverlands. Lord Karstark and Glover were raiding along the coast, Lady Mormont had captured thousands of cattle and was driving them back towards Rivverrun, while Greatjon had seized the gold mines at Castamere, Nunn's Deep, and the Pendric Hills.

I misread 'cattle' as 'castle' the first time and had a moment trying to figure out how they squeezed so many castles into the western countryside, even assuming they're the tiny only technically count ones. XD [Insert McLeod's Daughters/Mormont's Daughters droving joke here] Also as I was starting this paragraph I was hoping this guy didn't mean to imply what it sounded like he was implying. Which is to say: that Robb's army is now the ones pillage, rape, burning the smallfolk. They loose all moral high ground the second they start going after the smallfolk who would have had as much to do with the riverlands being burned and violated as the smallfolk of the riverlands.

"I know how hard it is-" Brienne shook off her hand. "No one knows." "you're wrong," Catelyn said sharply. "Every morning, when I wake, I remember that Ned is gone. I have no skill with swords, but that does not mean I do not dream of riding to King's Landing and wrapping my around Cersei Lannister's white neck and squeezing until her face turns black." ... This is so weirdly wholesome, I think mostly because it's two women who aren't tearing at each other in some way, but acknowledging one another. We don't get enough of this.

This is literally just bones, why is only the head being held on with wire? just bones don't naturally hold in place, so what? are the rest of them super glued together? does the head just need reinforcement because of a broken vertebrae? is it purely symbolic? or is the rest of the skeleton wired together?

Also poor Cat, again. I wonder if there's always going to be a part of her doubting if those really are Ned's bones, because she can't find any trace of him in them, none of his living self at least. Is this really closure for her?

Also, also: how much meat needs to be left behind for the Others' magic to work? Is Ned, by virtue of being a skellie, now immune to ice wizard necromancy?

ngl, I would love to see the silent sisters dealing with some Ghost Whisperer type shenanigans. Oooohhh, could you imagine, someone who can talk to the dead hears the rumours about the silent sisters and joins the order thinking "at last, my people" but they're still the only one who can talk to ghosts, and the dead are honestly just so annoying.

not sure if anyone here or or elsewhere in newer websites has mentioned this already but.... technically, isn't Tomoe Ame also a "two first names" kind of name? I don't think anyone assumes either name is her last name tho if they've read the comic... Now i'm thinking about going down this thread of thought to see what I find, just out of curiosity, since I've seen different stuff said about her name specifically.

I know she's named after a candy Stan once liked as a child called Tomoe Ame (トモエ飴) but also loosely on Tomoe Gozen, a real-life samurai who lived during the late Heian period and took part in the conflict that led to the first shogunate. I think some sources also say that while Tomoe "is her given name, Ame is her family name" - like this info page of the UY RP game in the HERO System Role--playing game.

But I wonder if older Usagi fans have brought this up about her name before? Or had arguments about it?

There is this Talk page, dating from 2005 and 2008 under the Wikipedia page for UY characters;

"Ok, so "Ame" is her given name and "Tomoe" is her family name? I thought it was the other way around." (2005)

But I cannot find this info or sources for these so I will have to check these later when I'm less tired x3 Basically, when it comes to fanwiki's, you can't always trust them. Having been a sole moderator for another fanwiki for years, I know just how many people like to add misinfo or their own headcanons or other things they've heard onto official/unofficial wikis, meaning most trivia without some source (like even what book or episode it was mentioned in), is a bit useless info in many cases. Sometimes I think that maybe I should make a Samurai Rabbit fanwiki, just to have one with legit info and have one new place to discuss things about the show itself but.... lol i am so tired of fandomcom wikis haha

Jim Henson's Labyrinth 4/19 -A.C.H. Smith

While nobody saw the owl, the owl saw and heard everything as he settled in a tree and watched the girl below. She moved with deliberate purpose, concentrating as she recited her lines. “Give me the child,’ she repeated. ‘Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City, to take back the child you have stolen.”- “For my will is as strong as yours...”p.11 She fumbled her lines and checked the playbook for the next one. “You have no power over me...”p.12 (and now Chekhov's gun is cocked and loaded) She couldn't continue as a clap of thunder startled her and her sheepdog, Merlin. (I know Merlin is a sheepdog but my cat’s name is Merlin so I just keep picturing him) She repeated the last line until the pavilion clock chimed and she realized the time. She and her dog started running home with her muttering it’s not fair as an owl watched it all in, no hurry, he knew what he wanted. (Merlin doesn't like the owl thinking it was why Sarah was running) 

Sarah’s stepmother was waiting for her, “The world at large was not fair, hardly ever, but in particular, her stepmother was ruthlessly not fair to her.”p.13 She could already hear her baby brother crying, she didn't call him her half-brother since her friend Alice (like Alice in Wonderland a girl who went through a nonsensical other world I see what you’re doing book) asked what his other half is (a horse) and she couldn't answer. Sometimes she felt protective of Toby, wanting to take him away to a better place but times like this she hated him since he had twice as many parents as she did. “When she hated Toby it frightened her, because it led her into thinking about how she could hurt him.”p.14 There must be something wrong with her, she wished she had someone who could understand, her friends would think she's a witch and her father would be more frightened of it than herself. (well she’s not wrong a teenager holding onto this much hatred and dark thoughts towards a baby is concerning)  

Sarah unapologetically said sorry for being late and Irene (the Labyrinth wiki says her name is Irene but in fanon Karen is popular too) told her to come out of the rain (Sarah made sure never to touch her even on accident) but the dog has to go in the garage. (well yeah Merlin is a big shaggy sheepdog that’s now soaking wet and covered in mud) Sarah thought Irene’s style was tacky and her performance every evening was hammy, her favorite word since her mother's boyfriend Jeremy used it to put down an actor, she was determined to be an actress so she could sound sophisticated like him. (that’s not how I would describe it) Irene started scolding her for being an hour late, they only ask her to babysit if it doesn’t interfere with her plans. Sarah cuts her off, how would she know if she has plans, she doesn't ask, Irene assumes she’d tell her if she did. “I would like it if you had a date. A fifteen-year-old girl should have dates.”p.16 (it was the 80’s how many well adjusted fifteen-year-olds at that time were cosplaying by themselves in the park) Sarah thought if she did have a date, she wouldn't tell her, and she wouldn’t like who it was. (she has a whole fantasy of escaping in a limo and they’d only hear of her in magazines) 

Sarah’s father came up holding her brother and telling her they were worried, (as any good parent would be if their teenager was off by herself and an hour late coming home in a storm) Sarah says to leave her alone and runs up the stairs. They were so reasonable, convinced they were in the right, only a matter of time until she did as they wished. Why did he take that woman’s side, her own mother never had that look of tolerance. “She was a woman who could shout and laugh and hug you and slap you all within a minute or two. When she and Sarah had a quarrel, it was an explosion. Five minutes later, it was forgotten.”p.16 (this hits close to home the result of which is I haven't spoken to that woman since December 3rd) Irene lamented how she tries but Sarah is determined to make her the wicked stepmother, Robert says it’s hard to have a mother walk out on you, (this is common the child has a tumultuous relationship if at all to the one parent they want love and acceptance from and will try to mold themselves to that parent’s image or expectations all while dumping their frustrations and lashing out to the other parent because it’s safe to do so) he’s right but will she ever change, Robert goes to talk to her. 

Sarah’s only safe place was her room, and she checked it every day that everything was where it should be. Irene rarely came in, she couldn't be trusted, she tried to clean but misplaced things. “It was essential to ward off that disturbing spirit.”p.17 Shelves were filled with books, toys and dolls positioned to Sarah’s affinities, everything had to be a certain way or it would be unsafe once disordered the room wouldn't be familiar. (ah so she’s trying to stay at the time in childhood where her family was together clinging to order in her disordered world but in turn stifling her own growth) Sarah was so against disturbances she learned how to do her own repairs so even her father would hardly have a reason to come in. 

Sarah now stood in her room sniffling and looked at an old family photo, all around were photos and posters of her mother's plays. One had her mother and her boyfriend Jeremy posing together and signed by them for Sarah, there were newspaper clippings from paparazzi following the two on their romance. Sarah picked up the music box (it plays Greensleeves) her mother gave he on her fifteenth birthday, the three went to the country club to swim, (the dick pretended to drown) Jeremy gifted her a gown to wear to dinner and a musical where he gossiped about the actors. He had danced with her and after a photo flash joked, they’d be in the gossip columns the next day (presumably because it would be a scandal of him being seen with an underage girl) and he drove wildly to shake off the phantom photographers and at home Sarah’s mother gifted her the music box. 

She could easily remember poetry, so why was the line in the park difficult, how could she make it on stage if she couldn’t remember her lines. She tried to get into the part with the right props as her mother told her and costumes as Jeremy told her. “They helped you escape from your own life and find your way into the part, as Jeremy said. And after each show, you take it all off, and you wipe the slate clean. Every day was a fresh start.”p.20 She was putting on lipstick when her father came to her door wanting to talk, she wouldn't let him in. At a loss he tells her Toby’s asleep, and they’ll be back by midnight and walked away and Sarah sniffed how he used to kiss her goodbye and now didn't try to come in. (would you throw a fit if he did you made it pretty clear you don’t want anybody in there) 

 As she threw away a tissue, she noticed her bear Lancelot was missing and she was angry the order of her room was violated. (if it really mattered would this be noticed when you first came in) She blames Irene yelling out the window towards the taxi that she hates her. She knew Toby had it, he was given everything but given more than she ever was. Lancelot was on the floor of the nursery, (hmm seems more like it was placed there deliberately) Sarah picked him up and her entrance woke Toby who started to cry. Sarah bemoaned for someone to save her and take her away, among the cacophony of the storm, Toby crying and Merlin barking it stirred the goblins in the castle of the Goblin King.  

Trying to calm Toby and herself down she told him the story from her playbook, The Labyrinth, (there's the title) how the evil stepmother made the young woman stay and watch the spoiled baby. (hmm I don't think that’s in the play) “But what no one knew was this: the King of the Goblins had fallen in love with her, and given her certain powers.”p.23 Now the goblins were paying attention as Sarah went on, the woman called the goblins to help her say the words and they’ll take the baby and she’ll be free. The girl knew the king would keep the baby forever and turn him into a goblin, so she kept quiet for months until she couldn't bear it. 

Toby started wailing again and Sarah was losing her temper, and the goblins eagerly listened for her to say the words. “Goblin King! Goblin King! Wherever you may be, come and take this child of mine away from me!”p.25 The goblins call them the wrong words, she didn't even say ‘I wish’. Toby was screaming now, and exhausted, Sarah started saying ‘I wish’ until he quieted down and she put him back in his crib. Right before she left, she said the words, “I wish the goblins would come and take you away...-”...right now.”p.26 To the goblins delight, and they scattered.

The thunderstorm picked up and Sarah listened to the unnatural silence in the room, Toby was quiet, and it scared her. She called his name and flicked the lights, but nothing responded, stepping into the room there were unfamiliar shadows. In the crib, under the blanket, weird shapes were bulging and Sarah thought she saw things that weren't a part of Toby poking out,  then there was stillness. Perhaps for hours she stared at the empty crib, mind blank and frightened by a thumping on the window by an owl, she didn't notice the goblins behind her. The clock chimed from the mantle at thirteen o clock, she was distracted by it until something nudged her leg, something scaly. Something else snickered out of sight and shadows crawled across the walls cavorting goblins evading her eyes. (you could easily lean into the horror of this book like Coraline) Sarah looked for a weapon and tried to beat them away with a broom when it also slithered out of her hands. 

Lightning flashed across the room and faces hid as thunder boomed and the wind blew the window open for the owl to enter. Sarah screamed covering her eyes and peaked through them to see a human shadow. Sarah recognized the stranger as the Goblin King, (he has a My Immortal description but you can just picture David Bowie however you want) he introduced himself as Jareth, (sounds a lot like Jeremy) he saved her, “I have liberated you from those bonds that distressed you and frightened you. You’re free now, Sarah.”p.32 Sarah doesn't want to be free, she does, but she wants her brother back, she didn't mean it, please bring him back.  

“Go back to your room. Read your books. Put on your costumes, that is your real life. Forget about the baby.”p.33 Sarah can't do that, so Jareth summons a crystal ball to show her her dreams, but it’s not a gift for an ordinary girl who takes care of a screaming baby, does she want it. Sarah didn't answer as she stared at it, “To see her own dreams-what wouldn't she give for that?”p.33 Jareth tells her to forget about the baby and Sarah was torn, the gift was seductive (yeah from a grown man to a teenager) but also from someone who understood her, (how much does he really understand about you) only for her to trade a spoiled child, (there’s no such thing as a spoiled baby)  only her half-brother. She appreciated it, but she can't accept it and wants her brother back. 

Jareth lost his patience, disappeared the crystal and threatens Sarah with a snake, warning her not to defy him, as it wrapped around her neck. Sarah tore it off, finding it was a scarf, then it turned into a snake again, she dropped it and it shattered into goblins who scattered around the room, they were all around now, watching her. Jareth warns her to take his offer, she no match for him, she can't do that, she has to have her brother back. He says she won't find him, so there is a place she figures and for a moment Sarah saw fear in his eyes, it was encouraging. 

He hesitates but says there is a place and points with his cane out the window towards a castle atop a mound the Goblin City. They were now no longer in the house but on a hill. “Turn back, Sarah, turn back, before it is too late.”p.36 She can't, the castle wasn’t too far off, it depended on what she comes across in the valley, was the darkness down there perpetual. Jareth warns it’s farther than she thinks, and time is shorter, she only has thirteen hours before her brother becomes one of them forever. She’ll start, he calls it a pity before disappearing, Sarah just glimpsed a white owl flying away, and taking one step off the hill, she fell.

Sarah slid down the hillside on her bottom terrified, getting jabbed by rocks and shrubs. She couldn't see in the dark, but she was determined, there was no limit to what she could do and maybe with luck she would save Toby. A lark call made her look up and see the sunrise, Jareth’s castle on the horizon, it seemed only a few hours away. She wondered if Jareth’s land worked by the same time as home, would her father and Irene find her missing and call the police. As the sun rose, she saw what was in the valley. “From the foot of the hillside where she sat, to the castle and beyond it, and from horizon to horizon on each sides, there stretched a vast, intricate maze of walls and hedges.”p.40 

She studied the Labyrinth trying to solve it and the impossibility started to overwhelm her. She went on through the rocks and shrubs to the great wall stretching farther than she could see. As she got closer she saw a little man and called out startling him and making him cross at her for disturbing him. He tried to look fierce but couldn't, he wasn't friendly but not hostile and Sarah asked if he could show her how to get through the Labyrinth. He ignored her and continued spraying the fairies to Sarah’s dismay calling him a monster. She picked it up only for it to bite her, the man said of course what did she expect it to do, grant wishes. “Shows what you know, don’t it?’p.43 (he’s not wrong Sarah has no actual experience with real fairies imagine someone picking up a horsefly thinking it’s just a little pony or something) The man goes on spraying and gave her leaves to rub on the bite, she did and cried out that it hurt more, the man laughed at her, payback for startling him.  

Sarah calls him horrible, he says his name is Hoggle and he goes on spraying, after he already knew Sarah was her name she suspects he knows a lot about her, maybe he’s a spy for Jareth, he’s not her idea of a spy. “If all her opinions were wrong, as he’d said, then this one might be wrong, too. But in that case, she thought, supposing he is a spy, then it might be his job to persuade me that all my opinions are wrong when really they are all correct. And if they are all correct, he is not a spy.”p.44 Her thoughts run in circles, it’s just like a puzzle from home unable to tell who is the liar. (so Sarah is definitely going to encounter this problem later) 

Sarah smiled at him and his face darkened unused to people smiling at him and when asked if he knows where the door to the Labyrinth is, he gives her the run around. It’s hopeless talking to him, “It’s hopeless asking you anything.” “Not if you ask the right questions.”p.45 The right questions depend on what she wants to know, how to get into the Labyrinth then she heard the same music that hummed around the Goblin King. “You got to ask the right questions if you want to get anywhere in the Labyrinth.”p.45  

Sarah saw a huge gate, now she had to find the key, it was sticking out under the mat, too heavy for her to lift and Hoggle refused to help her. Sarah snapped and called him names like she did to another girl when she was younger, (I think it’s already been established Sarah can be a real bitch) and Hoggle got angry. (pipsqueak really gets under his skin because he's a dwarf) “You! Ha! You’re so stupid you are, you take everything for granted.”p.46 If she weren't she’d just try the gate, it wasn't locked. (this reminds me of high school first period sometimes the teachers wouldn’t be there in time to unlock the classroom door so we’d all sit in the hall until someone came by with a key once we did that and the door wasn’t even locked it was just the lights were off and no one tried the door) Sarah says it’s clever, “You think you’re so clever,’ Hoggle said. ‘You know why? Because you aint learned nothing.”p46 

Sarah didn't like what she saw on the other side, it was dark, there was intense music (well yeah this is a musical) and the smell of things rotting. Two steps in and she was in a narrow hallway that was slimy and smelled of mildew. Hoggle got quiet asking if she was really going, yes, is there any reason why she shouldn't, every reason why she shouldn't, is there a good reason why she should, she has to. Should she go left or right, they both looked the same, then she won't get far, he wouldn't go at all. Hoggle repeats what he told her of taking things for granted. “This Labyrinth, for instance, even if you get to the center, which is extremely doubtful, you’ll never get out again.”p.48 His opinion is better than hers, she thanks him for nothing, Hoggle calls back not to say he didn't warn her, a few steps in the gate closed and wouldn't open.

Sarah went on her way as lichen watched her go and gossiped disapproving of her direction. After walking for a long while it still looked the same, not a turn or corner, and she thinks maybe she’s taking it for granted to go on and on. She wondered how much time she had left, “It wasn’t fair, not knowing.”p.50 She ran until she was exhausted and collapsed crying, there were still only walls, she beat on one in frustration and a little worm answered. (well she did knock on his house) Sarah realized if a worm can talk it may give her directions, it’s just a worm it doesn't know how to get through but invites her in for tea. She can't, she has get through but it just goes on, the worm says there are ways, she just doesn't see them. “There was no logic to it. Or maybe there was nothing but logic, and that was the trouble: all logic and no reason.”p.51 There was an opening right in front of her, things aren't what they seem here, so don't take then for granted. Sarah tried it and found another passage and thanks the worm (that keeps offering tea) who warns her not to go that direction, she thanks him and goes the opposite way to the worm’s relief as the other way would have led her to that dreadful castle. (remember what Hoggle said about asking the right questions) 

In the Goblin King’s chamber (it’s a pigsty) Toby was howling (even David Bowie said Toby was adorable but a screamer) as Jareth watched amused, no one else took notice of Toby, the goblins were skittering about doing their own things. Jareth wanted something to amuse him, the goblins were boring, too stupid to find their way through the Labyrinth, no wisdom or wit. (well you did kidnap them as babies what were you expecting) “In the old days, when many babies had been offered to him, Jareth had been more tolerant, reckoning that soon he would certainly find one who could be trained as a worthy companion to the throne, one whose young blood would serve to refresh Jareth’s, whose high spirits would dispel the thoughts of aging that oppressed the king of the Goblins.”p.53 (so what the youth from the infants also gave him youth) As calls became rarer Jareth became more dejected and avoided mirrors. (he’s as worried about his wrinkles like a twenty-year-old botox and filler addict) He might be lucky with Toby and he’ll help him rule his ramshackle empire, or just with mischief, nine more hours to wait, he needs something to pass the time. 

Sarah now came upon steps, a change from walls and turns, to make sure she didn't retrace her steps and marked a brick with her lipstick unknowing that a little creature behind her would turn the bricks over. She didn't see the goblins behind her as she went up to the dead-end chamber and when she turned around her arrow was gone. (What's That Sound Coming From The Ground Someone Is Turning All Of The Tiles Around~) Knowing something was fishy she called it unfair only for a voice to repeat the words behind her. The dead-end chamber now had two guards holding shields with two more guards holding on to them upside-down. (Find The Guards Hiding Behind Cards Ignore The One Outright Cause He Always Lies~) The way she came was now blocked off in a dead-end and she calls it unfair it keeps changing, what’s she to do, they suggest to try the doors one leads to the castle one to death.  

Jim and Tim can't tell her which door to use but Alph and Ralph can, but she can only ask one, it’s the rules. (the top two are Alph and Ralph and the bottom ones Jim and Tim because she though their names should rhyme) “And I think I should warn you that one of us always tells the truth, and one of us always lies.”p.57 (how do we know they’re not both liars and the both doors lead to the same place Samurai Jack taught me that) He accuses Ralph of being the liar, Ralph says he’s the one who tells the truth and it’s Alph who lies, Alph calls that a lie, Jim and Tim laugh at Sarah’s situation. Sarah thought of the question that will get the same answer (simple kill one and ask the other if the dead one is dead) and Tim laughed at her. Sarah tells them to answer yes or no, points to Alph and says to tell her that his door leads to the castle. Ralph says yes, so Sarah concludes the other door is the way because if he told her yes then the answer is no. Ralph says he could be telling the truth, then it would be a lie, if it were yes then the answer would be no. (ok point to one guard ask him which door the other guard would say is safe and do the opposite of what they agree on) Sarah is pleased with herself for getting smarter and walked through Alph’s door calling it a piece of cake before falling straight down a shaft. (see from the start the riddle was rigged by it’s own rules)

It’s such a hard tie between Littlebird and Silverflame (yeah Yellowfang’s Secret was my favorite book as a child, how could you tell)… Silverflame and Yellowkit had such a sweet relationship (well, as long as it lasted, it was sweet). And I really appreciated Littlebird and Yellowfang’s interactions, too. Their friendship was also very sweet. I still remember that one scene where (sometime after Brokenkit shows up) Littlebird is like 🥺 you saying you dont have time for your old friends? for me? 🥺🥺🥺? Plus her comforting Yellowpaw after Silverflame's sudden passing.

On a related note, went to check their wikis and was absolutely blindsided that Littlebird is ginger. I always imagined her as pure white..

For the longest time my answer to this was Amberleaf. And honestly it still is. She’s Nutwhisker’s mentor in Yellowfang’s Secret, and she’s specifically noted to be especially strict, so it’s kind of like a “damnn you got stuck with the mean teacher” moment, but then she tells Nutwhisker something like “I will make you the best warrior you can be” so it’s like Ohhh she’s not 2dimensionally mean, she probably just has her own way of showing kindness and does actually value her charges 😭

Probaby like 7???? I don’t know the exact context leading up to this but I was at a friend’s house and somehow made contact with their Graystripe manga (specifically vol 2). They let me take it home to read, later they also did this with the 3rd Graystripe manga and Yellowfang’s Secret (eventually returned ofc). Fun fact I didn’t realize Silverstream was dead cause I didn’t know who she was aside from “Graystripe’s old girlfriend”, I vividly remember playing out a scenario of Graystripe and Millie returning to the forest and meeting Silverstream, using the three LPS I owned (one of which was actually given to me by the same friend… I still have her btw and her name is still Millie). Unfortunately quite literally 0 people at my school read Warriors (or if they did, they didn’t tell me) so I was alone in being a Warriors enjoyer </3

💢 : what scene made you the most irrationally angry upon first reading

The first thing that comes to mind honestly is Nightheart’s first couple of chapters in River, like the way the narrative bends to make him right. It was kinda infuriating. I can’t really remember anything else that made me actually upset though.

0 times, I have cried over media maybe thrice in my life. I don’t think I’ve really even teared up over anything happening in the books (tearing up is a little more common for me than actually crying). I don’t really feel much strong emotion tbh.

💋 : is there any ships out there you absolutely hate for genuinely no good reason at all. like its not problematic in the slightest, if anything it's one of the better ones, you just cannot bring yourself to enjoy it

Squirrelcrow… I don’t see the appeal at all. Idk that I’d call it “one of the better ones” or “unproblematic”, mostly cause it’s been literally almost a decade since I’ve read TNP so I don’t really remember much of how their dynamic was (or how it could have gone). I just super do not like Crowfeather and I can’t really see what sort of chemistry Squilf would have with him.

Bristleroot doesn’t exactly inspire rage in me but it does leave me deeply confused and a little unsettled. Like I guess it’s fine but genuinely when Bristlefrost “confessed” back to Rootspirit I thoughht she was lying to him, either for some sort of advantage re:the impostor or to spare his feelings somehow. It felt extremely forced. Sunbeam/Nightheart gives me similar feelings, maybe to a slightly lower degree because at the very least their interactions were mostly positive before Nightheart dropped everything to try and score a marriage visa out of her. Which was still pretty weird so it’s not like it’s better by much.

🐾 : have you ever named a cat after a warriors character OR given a cat a warriors styled name? if so, tell us the story

No but I gave my DOG a warrior name!! I had a mini ceremony for her and everything. I think her name was like Blackwhisker or something (Black- cause her fur was black, -whisker because I thought of her name on the spot and her whiskers were the first thing I noticed).

1️⃣ : was warriors your first animal based fantasy series? if not, what series was?

If it counts, I watched My Little Pony before I read Warriors. In terms of books I don’t really think so? Most of The Before Times is kinda blurry for me, and obviously there wasn’t anything that made as much of an impact as Warriors did.

👑 : when roleplaying (if you ever have roleplayed warrior cats), did you used to power play? be honest.

Nope, actually if anything I think I kinda underperformed… I was really socially anxious and would get so sick to my stomach even typing stuff out cause I thought somehow I would accidentally say something that would make everybody instantly hate me somehow. But on the forum I was on I needed to post at least once every 2 weeks to be considered active, and I loved it there too much to just leave. So on the RP threads, in the few times I posted, I had my character just sleep most of the time, with the idea that someone would wake her up (thus inviting me into the RP and making it okay for me to speak). This did not work out 90% of the time but that’s okay 👍

I did used to do Roblox RP on the Mandaka server though!! The thing about most Warriors RP servers at the time (especially Mandaka’s) is that there was no system determining who goes to what clan, so usually what would happen is 1 or 2 clans had like a million people and the rest had 3 or less. Not really a powerplay but I felt so fucking powerful the one time I singlehandedly restored ShadowClan from a 0 player clan (me being the first cat) to the most populated clan on the server that day. I reigned supreme as Creamstar and then Dawnstar (Creamstar’s deputy ended up having to leave for lunch or something). Considering Creamstar was murdered against the rules of the servers (wasn’t supposed to use claws, no random murders, yet was killed by a random ThunderClan patrol), I took it pretty gracefully I think. Though I did crush some kid’s dreams because they showed up acting as leader, and when I told them I was already leader they were pissed at me and told me it was their birthday so they should get to be leader. I think I just told them it was my birthday too (lie) and at some point they gave up and left. Keep in mind I was like 10 when this happened ^_^;

To be honest I don’t actually know… it’s probably not the first one I ever saw, but We All Still Die (hosted by WhiskerMoon) sticks out in my memory as being one of my early favorites.

Either Blackstar’s Too White and Nerdy by Mama Tad or Brokenstar Has Bad Blood by Urnam7. (Fun fact… I got in trouble at my elementary school after-school care program for asking the teachers to play White and Nerdy cause it was ‘offensive’/‘inappropriate’…. I was like 7 I had no clue 😭) (Better fun fact, this was how I was introduced to Creature Feature).

🖌 : when did you make your first warriors oc? (if you say you've never had OCs, i dont believe you)

Maybe sometime between 6 months to 1 year of having read the books? Her name was Marigoldstar/Marigoldpelt (named after Yellowfang’s dead sister). I was salty that the clans left the forest (as a child I was very change-averse), so in my story, after the clans vacated the forest, twolegs somehow accidentally introduced some sort of nuclear goo that mutated the flowers in one specific area (probably former-ShadowClan knowing me) to be like 12 feet tall. Either before or after the goo incident did the twolegs decide to stop demolishing the forest, clean it up, and designate it as a nature preserve or something. Cats re-inhabit the forest and set up 3 clans, one of which was FlowerClan (because they lived in the mutated flower zone). Neither of the other clans got cool mutated goo based territories :(

Marigoldstar lived in FlowerClan, she had a sister named Daisy(something, I forget the suffix). Her mate was named Blazingfire, he was basically just a trophy husband. She had 5 kids, one for every mostly-solid color of cat that I could think of. The only ones I remember are Stormeye (her gray daughter that was born missing one eye), and Wolfheart/star (black and white daughter). Her dad, Wildstar, was the leader before her, and actually the subject of my first ever fanfic (I wanted to write the prequel first before the ‘actual’ story, but the thing is nothing really happens to Wildstar aside from the fact that he’s a pushover and his mom’s ex disliked him… as did his mom’s ex’s son but then he chills out). Literally in chapter 1 of his fic, some StarClan cat tells him (when he’s a new apprentice) that some day he’ll be a dad and that’s important, only FFN had this weird glitch where if you didn’t add spaces between periods it would delete entire chunks of your text, and because I didn’t know to do this (10 years old) the chapters were nigh-incomprehensible. The fic is gone but I found an archived version of it, which I still have saved.

It’s funny cause Marigoldstar never really had a defined story either. Her sister dies in an ambush to give her angst points, and then she becomes leader. I couldn’t decide if I wanted her eyes to be blue (goes well with her golden coat) or gold (matches her gold coat). I ended up deciding that her eyes were formerly blue but then turned gold after she got her 9 lives. It’s funny cause I actually really disliked blue eyes as a child but w/e ¯_(ツ)_/¯

📝 : if commanded to, without warning, approximately how many paragraphs could you write about your favorite warrior cat before you ran out of things to say

See this is difficult for me because I couldn’t tell you who is my #1 most favorite of all time off the top of my head, but most recently I wrote like 12 paragraphs (maybe a little less?) about Bluestar (see: AMVs)

Nope, this implies that 1. more than 3 people I knew across my entire (irl) life read warriors, and 2. that they disagreed with my opinions.

Still up to date, actually I’ve just started book 4 of A Starless Clan. I put it off for a while because for some reason I had such a hard time sitting down and reading 3 and 4 through with my very legally acquired PDFs, and it did not really help that Nightheart is a main character. (He’s marginally more bearable in book 3 but, you know, I didn’t know that).

🏠 : about how much do your family know about warrior cats, if anything?

Once I spent like an hour describing the basic lore and entire events of the first series to my dad, like to the point that my throat was sore. He was actively listening and seemed happy to do so, but this was like 2 years ago so I doubt that he remembers anything about it tbh. The only thing my family really knows about warriors is that it’s about cats and I read it.

🎶 : give me a song you're surprised you haven't seen turned into a warriors pmv yet - and what character(s) you imagine it to

Ohhhh so many songs. Some of these are purely based on my own personal readings of the relevant songs + characters so it’s a bit more understandable, but ONE exception (that I’m actually hoping to make into a pmv myself) is just so obvious I’d have to make it its own post. Which I will, you’ll know it when you see it. Brief list of the songs though:

Community Gardens - The Scary Jokes ——> Mapleshade. Literally every time I hear this song all I can see in my head is Mapleshade. Opens (and closes) with her spirit taking notice of Crookedkit/Stormkit and deciding to manipulate him for her own gain. Everything in between is basically the events of Mapleshade’s Revenge; she thinks she’s safe from the eventual wrath of her clan because obviously she’s doing this for them, they need this, StarClan would never punish her or her kits because that’s just not an option in her mind. So it obviously comes as quite the shock when it really does happen (“the culmination of man’s mistakes came the day the sun ran so hot, it turned the desert to glass”), culminating in her revenge plans (“if there’s something to be learned from these losers… it’s that the price that you pay for arrogance and a false of immunity is to face the wrath of the dying star”). That line in my head applies both to Mapleshade ‘punishing’ those who did her wrong (the dying star—> cat no longer accepted into StarClan, arrogance/false sense of immunity—> the cats who tossed her aside think they don’t have to deal with the consequences of such an action), as well as StarClan’s ‘punishment’ of Mapleshade (who falsely believed that StarClan had her back). I say punishment for lack of a better word.

Cody’s Theme - AJJ ——> Lionblaze This one I get a little more why it’s not an actual AMV but god I want it to be so bad. Genuinely I don’t remember if Lionblaze being, like, unable to restrain his aggression/battle-hunger was only partially canon or fully fanon, but regardless I think this AMV would objectively fuck so hard. I had this epiphany reading this really excellent Warriors fic by Hissing Willow, their Po3 AU (link here). Wherein this song basically describes Lionpaw to a T. Several specific lines remind me of moments in the fic (“I set the mommy on fire, I set the baby on fire, not even Jesus could stop me” —> one part where he’s terrified that he’ll lose control and accidentally hurt or kill Ferncloud and her kits, despite obviously caring deeply for them; Spottedleaf in a StarClan dream, iirc, holds some mild disdain for him, though it’s possibly for [spoiler] reasons.) Anyway I think this could even work as an AMV based on the canon books. I always imagine the guitar instrumental moment (forgetting the word rn) in this song as the moment where he kills Russetfur, where he’s overcome with that aggression, and then once it actually happens he just kind of sits there in shock at what he’s done. (in the aforementioned fic there’s another moment that fits so perfectly with this but, again, spoiler for the fic… go read it right nowww)

Lullaby for the Taken - Kimya Dawson ——> Bluestar This is the one I need to make a separate post on because I have actually written out an entire, line by line analysis on how perfectly this song fits Bluestar. In fact it astounds me that this hasn’t been made so much so that I’ve been actively planning out a PMV for it. Which will take a million years but like I’ve done it before I’ll do it again. Anyway, in the 10 minutes it takes me to edit my analysis and outline for posting, go listen to Lullaby for the Taken, and then go read Bluestar’s Prophecy, and bask in how right I am about this.

I don’t know about weirdest per say but the whiplash I experienced from finally finishing Worm to finding a Warriors AU not three days later was definitelly something. My personal AUs tend to be less “what would these characters be like in a clan” and more “what would these characters’ OC’s be like”. I just know that Boruto has the most edgy BloodClan “Scourge is my dad” OC and gets kicked for powerplaying and having “unrealistic names” on various Roblox RP servers.

🗳 : if you could make any cat leader of any clan right now, who would you pick?

I haven’t gotten past the first few chapters of Thunder yet but I think - and this has to be extremely sudden, right this moment, no time skips or anything - I think it would be extremely funny for Frostpaw to suddenly become Froststar. No warrior name or anything, just straight from apprentice to leader. Word of StarClan. RiverClan collectively in their dreams all receive the same omen/order from StarClan that Frostpaw is their new leader and can she please come and get her nine lives right now, thank you. Everyone is in a panic looking for where she could have possibly gone. Everyone in the conspiracy is carefully weighing the benefits of either assassainating her again or trying to turn her into a puppet leader, and neither of these options seem very likely.

🌟 : would you hypothetically go to starclan or the dark forest?

Hmmmm. See this kind of depends. I haven’t read Squirrelflight’s Hope so I don’t really have a solid idea of how the judgement process works (like how cats are chosen, specific rules if any, etc). Before that book dropped I always kinda interpreted StarClan as being more interested in if you followed the code, if not in spirit then in wording, as opposed to morality. Maybe also the potential of redeemability. Though biases seem to get in the way of this judgement (I’ll literally never forget the retcon that the site did for Ashfur’s judgement, saying that maybe Yellowfang’s judgement was influenced by the unhealthy relationship SHE was in, having distorted her own views of what’s ‘acceptable’ in terms of love… I’m definitely stretching the quote here but I literally don’t care). Anyway since I’m not technically a clan cat I’d probably go to wherever rogues go. HOWEVER, as a child, I REALLY did not like it when cats broke the code, because bro it’s literally so easy, I would give anything to be a clan cat like you and yet you’re throwing it away… Anyway on that basis, if I was a clan cat I would probably go to StarClan for following the code.

🤔 : what's the biggest series plothole that's bugged you?

Literally everything about Nightheart, again the whole narrative bending to making him objectively correct about everything. I swear to god in TBC Sparkpelt didn’t even neglect her kits, when she was with them I’m like 90% sure she was mentioned as actively trying to be there for them while recovering from PPD, after the initial "fuuuck everything is going so wrong for me rn".

I couldn’t tell you what they were now, since I only ever read Tallstar’s Revenge once, but being a lifelong Yellowfang’s Secret scholar I 100% noticed some timeline inconsistencies that made the order of events in each book with respect to each other very unclear. It bugged me to no end. Being biased towards Yellowfang I preferred the version of events in YS, but knowing those inconsistencies even existed bugged me so bad.

[Magi reread] Night 29: Slave

Gdi, I really want to rewatch the Magnostadt Arc, like, you don't get it. I'm in the MOOD. But I promised myself to go more-or-less chronological. Like, it's one thing to kinda jump from one thing to another in some arc, but I want to rewatch the entire thing, gdi, Saya, why do we do that to ourselves.

I'd say speedrun Morgiana Arc, but it's not that much of a speedrun, plus I have a few thoughts.

But before that, I thought randomly about the Night 17, which is an almost-month timeskip. The timeskip where Alibaba does something pretty important, and Morgiana has some character development after a lifetime of being a slave, you know, some dealing with trauma... It didn't really ring a bell until a few days ago, when I was like. Wait. It's a trend. And ya bet I'll comment on the timeskips. But, man, it's already appeared so early!

I had to share this thought, now to the actual chapter.

All I wanted to point out that when Morgiana sensed something coming closer, she instinctively stopped this little girl. Imo cool characterization moment. Seemingly gently.

Yknow, for a kid in this situation, you're being very calm, little girl.

Nadja's from Balbadd! Still pretty cool that there's some of that info sprinkled here and there. Also, didn't Nadja mean Hope?

I checked, it does!

Totally random thought, I wonder if Nadja's supposed to be, like, a symbol of little Morgiana, yknow? Kinda cuz I noticed her side ponytail. And if that's the case, then tbh that's pretty cool, because this arc becomes a symbol of Morgiana saving herself. When she was little, there was nobody else to help her, but she's capable of it now.

Like I've said earlier, it's a damn good arc, but it's very isolated from others. Don't misunderstand me, it references stuff that'll come up in other arcs, but this specific arc won't be referenced much if at all later on. Which is a shame.

Kinda made me think how slavery isn't a thing in Balbadd, so maybe that's why she wasn't as freaked out. She genuinely doesn't understand what it means until Morgiana starts explaining it.

I am both curious, and at the same time, I'm not sure I want to know what Morgiana is saying.

Also, listen, I know I have a tendency to see mah boy everywhere, but I'm kind of wondering if it's the Same Face Syndrome or maybe it's just, like, how Balbadd people look. Seriously, Nadja reminds me a lot about Alibaba, when it comes to her face. It's also kinda cool, in general, bc Hope is also something associated with Alibaba and his Household. As in, according to the wiki, the name of all the spells there are a corruption of Amal, meaning hope.

Whoops.

Another thing I thoght abt is how... desensitized Morgiana feels. Tbh, I'm gonna guess she's dissociating a bit here, to focus on the situation at hand rather than get overwhelmed, which does sound like a defence mechanism she would've created under Jamil.

♥️♣️Pandora hearts vs Alice in Wonderland♦️♠️

An analysis (more or less serious, I think...I hope so, at least) of what has served as inspiration🗝

Just a few days ago I finished reading "Alice's adventures in Wonderland + Through the looking glass", a book that (I admit my extreme ignorance) despite my 23 years of age I had never read (in my defense, however, I can say of having seen the film aired in 1999 several times ... the fault of the Italian TV programming of the time).

A month ago I also finished my rereading of Pandora Hearts (by Jun Mochizuki), a manga that continues to hold the primacy in my heart and that I was able to appreciate even more, after 4 years from the first reading. So I thought that, this time, I necessarily had to approach the manga in a "more mature", critical and objective way, and I wanted at all costs to understand how the book and its characters provided the inspiration for MochiJun to create the wonder (twisted, but still wonder) that came out. And I must say that I’m delighted both to have decided to undertake this adventure and to have completed it. It was a kind of treasure hunt, accompanied by screams of joy and amazement every time I spotted some reference here and there lol.

So I decided to create a list that contains all the references that I’ve identified during the reading. Some things are simple associations that I’ve found but for which I don’t have an actual confirmation, others have actually been confirmed thanks to the help of the wiki, still others gave me the wiki itself because frankly they had escaped me.

As it should be for the purpose for which this analysis of mine was conceived, it’s literally full of plot spoilers, so please continue with caution, in case you have not yet read Pandora Hearts and you’re willing to do.

Small warning: some names I used (such as Kevin's surname or Zai) may differ from the official English version...this is due to the fact that I read the manga in my native language, so I adopted the Italian translation of them.

Soooo…let’s start!💪

• Alice: useless saying that her name was taken from Alice

• In “Alice’s adventures in Wonderland”, Alice claims she doesn't remember things. Alice, in PH, has lost her memory, so I think this too can be considered as a reference.

• I think the White Rabbit provided the inspiration for Oz in his original plush bunny form and for the B-rabbit itself. The pocket watch that the Rabbit constantly checks fearing of arriving late for the appointment with the Duchess can probably be seen as a reference to Oz's music box, since he also always keeps the carillon in his pocket.

• The rabbit hole / the fall into the hole leading to his lair may have provided the inspiration for the moment when Oz, at the beginning of the manga, hearing the sound of the carillon follows it (just like Alice follows the White Rabbit), only to fall down once the floor collapsed, finding himself in front of Lacie's grave.

• Alice, in the book, has a black cat, Dinah, just like Alice in Pandora had Cheshire, who is also black.

• Kitty and Snowdrop, Dinah's two kittens, provided the name for Ada's kittens.

• Alice from the book loved to pretend to be 2 different people. I thought that this may have provided the cue for the two Alices, the white (Alyss) and the black (Alice). I don't know how correct this idea of mine can be, though.

• The White Rabbit with the fan and gloves that runs so as not to be late for the appointment with the Duchess reminded me of the dynamic that exists between Barma and Sheryl (who is in fact a Duchess), especially considering the element of the fan and gloves, characteristic of Barma ... not to mention his blatant submission to Sheryl ahaha

• When I read the part about the Mouse met in the Pool of Tears, I thought at first glance that it may have provided the inspiration for the House of Nightray (in general) and for the delineation of Gilbert's characteristic fear of cats [see the Mouse quote “Our family always hated cats: nasty, low, vulgar things! Don't let me hear the name again!"]. This intuition was actually confirmed by the wiki (I confess that I felt quite satisfied by it, I felt a bit like a little Sherlock, in several cases, during my analysis lol)

• Regarding Abyss, I’ve developed a number of theories on what may have inspired this place, but I have not had the actual confirmation of all of them, so many of these remain my conjecture. First of all, I believe that the Pool of Tears may have inspired the question of the floor covered with water and the consequent "trap" that Alice, in Pandora, finds herself forced into, while the animals and creatures on the shore could represent the chains.

• Another reference to Abyss that I’ve identified, but of which I have not had actual confirmation, is that in the March Hare’s tale, the 3 sisters (and therefore Lacie) lived in a well. In the well, as a rule, there is water and it’s dark, exactly as in the current Abyss and we know well that the Baskervilles can go out and enter it freely (Carroll, in this juncture, used the verb "to draw", which can also be intended as "to extract", in this case). The only thing I'm sure of is that Abyss is an allegory of nonsense and of Wonderland itself.

• In the dialogue with the Caterpillar, the latter asks Alice "Who are you?", Which, due to the way it was asked and the implicit meaning of the question, reminded me a little of the question that Break asked to Oz (“Where are you?”).

• I intended the figure of the Duchess with the baby as a source of inspiration for Sheryl and Sharon.

• Obviously, needless to say, the Cheshire Cat provided inspiration for my beloved Cheshire puppy

• The March Hare and the Mad Hatter, an inseparable pair, provided the basis for Reim and Break and I love how Mochi-sensei has kept their friendship relationship even in the manga!

• Always considering the base provided by the Mad Hatter, Break too, like him, eats a plate in front of the protagonist of the story and starts a new life assuming a pseudonym (Hatta, in the case of the Mad Hatter, Xerxes in the case of Kevin Regnard).

• It goes without saying that the tea party (or appointments over a cup of tea, in general) is also present in PH (albeit with different meanings).

• The Dodo is obviously related to the Barma chain

• The Dormouse provided the inspiration for Vincent

• The names Cherlotte (Lottie) and Lacie are taken from the story told by the March Hare. Charlotte refers to Alice Liddle (the little girl who inspired Carroll to create Alice's character)'s younger sister, while Lacie is Alice's anagram, and I find it beautiful how the latter has been exploited by Mochi-sensei for the bond of kinship between the two!

•  Another thing that seemed to me to have provided insights that I have not had confirmation of was part of the process: I think it may have provided the inspiration for the moment the Baskervilles throw Oz into Abyss during the coming of age ceremony, issuing, in fact, its "verdict".

• Lily owes her name to the daughter of the White Queen. Furthermore, the fact that she was a pawn in Carroll's work is underlined by Vincent's use of a white pawn during the chess match against Dug to throw it at Lily's head (lol).

• The White Knight was used in the creation of Albus, Kevin Regnard's chain, as well as inspiring Kevin himself. Break, in fact, in his previous life was a knight in the service of the Sinclairs. In addition, both Break and the Knight are de facto elderly characters and worry about not being able to be alongside Sharon the former, and Alice the latter.

• The Queen of Hearts inspired the character and the personality of Miranda Barma and the myth of the Headhunter, while Arthur Barma's character is probably based on that of the King of Hearts.

• Jack was probably inspired by the Knave of Hearts from Alice's first book, due to his extremely false and dishonest character. If you then think about the fact that the knave can also be called "Jack", this suggests that Mochi-sensei's choice for his name was targeted. Considering also the kind of relationship between Jack, Miranda (Queen of Hearts) and Arthur Barma (King of Hearts), this strengthened the bond of the "hearts" their characters were on.

• When Jack first appears to Oz, he hides behind the curtain placed at the entrance to an arched door. Alice, in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, also has to go through a curtained door to access Wonderland.

• It seems that the Cheshire cat is the only character in the whole book that Alice enjoys being / talking with. This reminded me that even for Alice, in the manga, Cheshire was a very precious friend and the only one she could consider as such (before meeting that little p*ece of si*t of Jack).

• The Hedgehog was used to create a chain

• The Griffin inspired the chain of Zai (and therefore of the Vessaliuses), as well as the careless attitude for the feelings of others is highly attributable to that of this character.

• The Owl was used for Sheryl's (and therefore Rainsworth's) chain

• Jabberwock and Bandersnatch are mythical / fantastic creatures named in the nonsense poem "Jabberwocky" featured in "Through the looking glass". They were used for Glen / Oswald and Lily’s chains.

• Tove, Fang's chain, is also named in Jabberwocky. I like how almost all the Baskerville chains are taken from the names of the creatures present in this poem, almost to underline their connection with Glen! **

• Chess in general (and thus the whole chess game on which the second book is based) recurs frequently in Pandora.

• When I read the part about the White Queen, I thought that she may have provided the inspiration for the Will of Abyss, but I haven’t found any evidence of this. Since then, at the end of the book, Alice becomes queen, I thought this might make sense, considering the power held by the Will in Abyss.

• Ada was a friend of Alice, in the book. Her name was used for Ada Vessalius

• Considering Tweedledum and Tweedledee, I found it really curious and witty how the former (which in fact is the one who always gets pissed off) was used for Dledum / Noise, while the latter was used for Dledee / Echo.

• The black raven of Through the Looking Glass was obviously used for Raven / Gilbert, in fact exactly as the raven interrupts the two Tweedle brothers, who fear him, in the same way Gilbert hates Noise for having used him to harm Oz. In addition, the crow is also mentioned by the Mad Hatter.

• Leon and Equus, the chains of Lottie and Sharon, are clearly based on the characters of the Lion and the Unicorn featured in Through the Looking Glass, fighting each other for the crown. I found this extremely witty because not only does the Lion have the crown, but in fact Lotty and Sharon clash in the manga.

• I think the reference to the mirror (talking about “Through the Looking Glass”) is when Break, Gil, Oz and Alice find themselves in Cheshire's lair and Break is, in fact, pulled behind the mirror by Kevin.

• In PH, Break is at one point imprisoned and chained, exactly like the Mad Hatter in the second book.

• I find it funny how Humpty Dumpty has a bad temper, just like Elliot haha. Also I couldn't help but notice (and I'm not actually sure if this thought has practical confirmation) how Humpty Dumpty, falling, in theory should split ... and then die (in terms of eggs, of course, we mean in the sense of "make an omelette") ... I repeat, I don't know how much this makes sense, but if Mochi-sensei really thought about using this subtlety for Elliot's death then take my heart, because I don't need it anymore.

• "The hole" could be understood as "the rabbit hole", therefore on the one hand the access to Abyss and on the other the access to the subsoil / Wonderland.

• At one point in the manga, Oz falls asleep dreaming of an idyllic world with all his friends, which in fact does not exist. All of Alice's adventures are actually a dream.

• Could the juries possibly be a representation of the trial that occurs in the Caucus Race?

• I meant the act of titling the 3 novels "Caucus Race" as putting together a series of random and meaningless stories (which they in fact are hahaha)

• Happy unbirthday… this hurts very, very badly. Thank you, dear Mochi-san. Always on the piece. Clear reference to the tea party in which Alice participates together with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, translated in the manga as the possibility of using any day (and therefore that of the tea party) to celebrate the birthday of Oz, who in fact does not know his date of birth.

• Tenniel, the designer of the arts in Carroll's two books, injured his right eye, from which he lost his sight, while practicing fencing with his father. I see it extremely unlikely, but if Mochi-sensei had gone deep enough to know this information, perhaps it could have been an input to Kevin Regnard and the loss of his eye (even if it’s the left eye, in his case).

• The name of the school Ada, Elliot and Leo attended, the Lutwidge, is taken by Carroll's middle real name (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson). Moreover, in the second story of the third volume of the novel, Dodgson is used as the name of a street.

The following one is a list of things I've noticed or discovered with the help of the wiki!

• The Unnamed Lizard Chain that appeared in Retrace LXXXI: CHILDREN was inspired by the character of Bill the Lizard

• The Mad Baby chain was based off of The Piglet, who had originally appeared as The Duchess' baby.

• Oswald and Lacie's positions among the Baskerville Clan were based off of the Red King and Queen.

• Demios' appearance, and one of the Intention of the Abyss' Dolls, were inspired through their appearance by The Goat.

• Isla Yura represents the Walrus from the poem recited by the Tweedle brothers in Through the Looking Glass. Furthermore, the reference to Yura as a Poisonous Snake, could perhaps refer to the snake for which Alice was mistaken by the Pigeon in Alice's adventures in Wonderland..

• The orphans of the house of Fiana are an allegory of oysters, induced by the Walrus (represented by Isla Yura) and the Carpenter (represented by both the duichess Nightray and the Elder Cult members) to follow them until they have met their end.

• Oscar's passion for photography is a reference to how good Carroll was in this field.

• Humpty Dumpty told Alice that he'd received a knitted scarf for his Unbirthday once, which is mirrored through Break's own action of giving Alice a knitted scarf to protect her in Cheshire's Dimension.

• The contrast between Alice and the Intention of the Abyss (red/white) is similar to the contrast between the Red Queen and White Queen.

• Xerxes / Kevin also represent Carroll himself, as he too uses an alter ego.

• One of the Chains that attacked Alice and Break while they were in Cheshire's dimension was inspired by the Frog Footman.

• The Cook that served The Duchess served as the inspiration for one of the Chains that attacked Alice and Break while they were in Cheshire's dimension. The Chain that stalked Noise and Ada through Sablier and gravely wounded Zai appears to have also been inspired by the character of The Cook.

• Marie acted as Ritus' housekeeper. The White Rabbit also had a housekeeper, who was named Mary-Anne.

• During the Chain invasion in Sablier, a Pandora member summons their Chain to battle the invading Chains, this Chain bearing significant resemblance to the Mock Turtle.

• The Unnamed Bird Chain that was summoned by one of the Baskervilles after Break, Sharon and Sheryl were given free use of their Chains by Reim as part of Rufus' grand scheme drew inspiration from the Jub Jub Bird mentioned in "Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There "and" The Hunting of the Snark".

• The weaker species of Chains, Cards were an obvious reference to of the servants of the Queen of Hearts.

• Old Father William is a character mentioned in a poem of Through the Looking Glass, capable of doing great deeds, despite being old… just like Break.

• The Snap-Dragon-Fly, The Rocking-Horse-Fly and Fawn provided the inspiration to a series of chains that appear in the anime.

• Some Legal Contractors such as Break cannot physically age, a nod to the March Hare's tea-party, where the Hatter is convinced that the time is eternally 6:00.

• The four grand Dukedoms are based on the four different suites of cards: the hearts, the spades, the clubs and the diamonds.

Finally, I add some little things that I thought about while reading but which are not strictly related to the comparison with "Alice's adventures in Wonderland".

• “Pandora” refers to the myth of Pandora's box (and so far, the wiki confirms). But I read a message even more profound in this, because one thing came to my mind: in the myth, hope is the last to remain at the bottom of the vase and in chapter 100, Oz states "possibility and hope are the last to die ” (or “there’s still a chance!”, based on the translation you read the story with)… YAAAAHH, I scream at that woman's genius.

• I think (quite obviously, though) that the name of Oz was taken from the Wizard of Oz.

• Regarding the name of the Baskervilles I haven’t found certain references, but I think it may have been inspired by Conan Doyle's “The Hound of the Baskervilles”

• Sablier, as well as meaning "Hourglass" in French, is also the title of a fictional novel written by Garth Nix, in 1995.

• The surname of Shion Liddell, from Mochi-sensei's first manga, "Crimson Shell", is likely to be derived from the surname of Alice Liddell, the girl for whom Carroll wrote "Alice's adventures in Wonderland".

Okay so I was browsing through Cloverfoot’s wiki when I noticed that it says that she indirectly caused Leafpool’s death by the rockfall. It says that on page 331 that it’s revealed that she did. I checked, and she’s not even mentioned.

I’m just really confused??? I know that this blog loves to discuss stuff like this so if I could get a possible answer I would LOVE that.

I guess she’s being grouped together with everyone that attacked? But this is something I’ve noticed with the wiki at times, some of their sources don’t actually provide the information they say they do. For example one thing that has bugged me for a long time is Pigeonflight

His page on the wiki (as of writing this) cites his warrior name being revealed in Leopardstar’s Honor. But on the page it references (page 235 of LH) he is not mentioned by name, nor is he mentioned by name anywhere else in the book. I mean we can guess it’s him in that scene based on the description of the grey and white cat present in the scene in question but he is never named.

Dating Grell HC!

Hi! SO sorry for taking this long, irl stuff got in my way but I’m finally here! Agreed, finding Grell content is kind of difficult, and though they aren’t my favorite character, I do enjoy their personality. Before we start, I would like to clarify that I wrote this with gender neutral pronouns for Grell since I’m kind of confused: in the manga and anime sometimes, characters will refer to them with: He/Him pronouns, they refer to themselves with: She/her but their wiki refers to them with they/them pronouns; so, if someone could clarify that for me (and provide a link that confirms is cannon) I would be beyond grateful!

Summary: Grell starts to feel in a way they have never felt before.

Warnings/Additional notes: none…I think(? But I tried to keep it neutral for the reader too, since pronouns weren’t specified.

Grell being a reaper they have little to no time on their hands, so most probably they met you at work.

They were the one to approach you first by practically throwing themselves at you going on a ramble about how GORGEOUS you are.

I think that at the beginning their feelings are more like a simple crush that will fade away with time or mindless lust that is set to disappear the moment they get to have sex with you.

So, until that happens you will have to deal with practically a cat, they get all touchy: rubbing their cheek against yours, hugging you enthusiastically (like how a child would hug a stuffed toy) begging for attention constantly and even directing not so subtle innuendos at you.

But overall Grell is someone fun and pleasing to be around (especially if you are feeling a bit down) their bubbly and dramatic personality is just so contagious you can’t help but smile!

So that’s why you don’t push them away as harshly as Sebastian or William would

And I feel like that’s why they get a little bit more interested in you.

Even though they identify themselves as a masochist, that does not mean they enjoy being treated poorly all the time, they know their personality is…hard to cope with, but Grell appreciate when someone would still make the effort to get along.

So, when you don’t just…you know…kick them in the face every time they approach you (cofcofSeb&Willcofcof) they feel more comfortable being themselves around you, since no matter how eccentric they might be, you always continue the conversation in a kind manner.

Grell is someone who’s VERY emotionally driven, to the point I think it must be hard for them to differentiate certain emotions like: anger to frustration, sadness with deception and romantic love to lustful attraction. I feel like for them there’s no grey area, is either love or hate so in the beginning this might cause your relationship a bit of trouble.

As your relationship grew closer you started to notice a change in Grell’s behavior: They started being a bit more serious (still as theatrical as ever but different none the less)

They suddenly seemed to have become aware of what personal space is supposed to mean, the hugs became relatively short, the innuendos stopped almost completely and when the two of you started talking, Grell was eerily quiet.

This probably would make you feel like you might have angered them in some way, but don’t worry…the truth is..Grell is just confused.

Lust driven love is all they’re ever known, but their feelings for you have changed, evolved if you may. The only thing they know: is that they like you, but not in the way they like Will, Sebastian or Undertaker, no. They like you in a different way…a deeper way.

So please be patient and let them figure it out on their own.

BUT tbh I don’t think they figured out on their own…I just think they where in the phantomhive manor one day (just to tease Sebastian or double-check these newfound feelings were indeed different) But Ciel just felt so uneasy since he had never seen Grell so quiet and deep in thought.

—What is wrong with you, Grell?—His words condescending as ever.

—Pay no mind to them, master. The reaper is just hopelessly in love—Said Sebastian with a smirk creeping on his lips.

Sebastian’s words were almost eye-opening to them. “Love? Was it truly the right word to describe this feeling?”

Yes, yes it was, they knew the moment they went back to you that day.

Saying that you were surprised when Grell suddenly appeared at your house, late at night, pinning you to the floor by giving you the BIGGEST hug in your life, after weeks of not seeing each other since apparently, they were ignoring you, was a severe understatement.

—What has gotten into you, Grell?— you questioned, caressing their long red hair.

—Oh! Y/N my love! I love you!—You smiled, Grell had finally come back to you.

—Ha Ha Ha, I love you too, Grell!—Grell froze in place.

You thought they were messing around with you like countless time before, so you just responded in the usual joking manner.

—No, no, no! You’ve got it all wrong my dear!—For the first time since you had known them, their expression turned serious and gently took your hands in theirs.

—Y/n you are probably the only person I have ever felt this strongly, I feel like if you were to die today, I will die with you! Y/n my dear…I love you! This are my true feelings…Won’t you accept them?

Such sweet words, spoken with the most profound sincerity.

You couldn’t help but tear up a little (Which made Grell panic a bit)

—Yes, Grell, I love you too, so please accept this feelings of mine as well.—The hugh that followed was not only an acceptance but the seal of a promise, the true love kind of promise.

From here onwards you can see a change in Grell’s behavior towards you (in a positive way that is)

Dating Grell means you get to see them in a whole new light.

They are much more sincere (still dramatic as ever but a bit toned down)

They allow themselves to be vulnerable with you, no longer hiding their worries under a carefree and almost indifferent facade.

You become a safe place they can come to when things get difficult or simply when they just feel tired and overwhelmed with their reaper duties.

Something that stays pretty much the same in your relationship is how much attention-seeking they are.

You have to put on hold whatever you’re doing ‘cause those things can wait but Grell don’t.

“Nee~ honey, pay attention to me!” is a phrase you might hear often if you even dare to pay attention to something else when they are right beside you!

Grell will 100% shower you in kisses constantly.

Cuddles! Cuddles are a MUST with them.

Be prepared for Lots LOTS of PDA, they don’t care if it’s not the appropriate time or place, they need to show you how much you mean to them now!

I feel like they are the type to pull you closer and start dancing or reciting a dramatic dialogue of some romantic play they recently saw, out of nowhere in the middle of the street.

Grell also loves when you touch, caress, braid or brush their hair, is just so adorable! (If you want to turn them on, just pull their hair a little and see what happens ;)

If you have long hair, they will do the same but if you don’t expect them to go wild with how much flower crowns, hats, hair pins, etc they gift you.

Matching outfits! They even gifted you a red coat like theirs!

Grell loves when you let them do your make up! (if you wear any that is, otherwise they would allow you to do theirs) and it goes without saying, they are so good at it! you always end up feeling like royalty.

Sometimes they would allow you to borrow their Death Scythe (even if is for ridiculous things like idk cutting bread lol) but shhh, don’t tell Will!

Like jirou would go in there at 3am and just be like : yo so I'm lesbian and momo is lesbian and she said she likes me but I'm not sure if she likes me.

And even though bakugo will literally shout at them for being in his room at 3am they will still get advice😂~ ~ Kirishima is named after a mountain. Bakugos favourite activity is mountain climbing. Its cannon and ik it is I just thought I'd say that ~ ~ Shinso definitely uses his voice changer for memes. He would say things like "I'm katsuki bakugo and I'm a little bitch" with bakugos voice and "im aizawa and Im in love with a cockatoo" with aizawas voice. ~ ~ When denki is nervous random sparks of electricity come from his hands. ~ ~ If denki doesnt know how to do something he will search it up on wiki how. Change. My. Fucking. Mind. ~ ~ Shiggy genuinly doesnt know what moisturizer is ~ ~ Mic is amazing at playing any instrument ~ ~ Mic knows sign language and is fluent in alot of languages ~ ~ After toga stabs someone she mumbles things like "ughhh what a mood" "damn that one snatched my weave" and "we stan a queen" and once held up the knife like a beauty guru ~ ~ The girls constantly try to get uraraka to float m*neta into the sun ~ (yes I censored his name💀💀) ~ Tokoyami has good music taste ~ ~ The bakusquad (kaminari) tries to teach all might vine references ~ ~ Shoto l o v e s conspiracy videos ~ ~ Ojiro can purr ~ ~ Mina shares her clothes with everyone ~ ~ Shoto likes to watch the sun rise ~ ~ Omgggg I love this one. Aizawa listens to Mics radioshow when he grades papers and when he cant he will hum the music to himself ~ ~ Kaminari is memes™️ ~ ~ When mic says todorokis name he says it like the target vine (next competitor is- T T T T T T T T T TODOROKI SHOTOOOOOO *makes air horn noises*) ~ ~ The UA staff have prank wars (especially mic and literally anyone. Once poured pink cat shaped glitter on aizawa and it was 100% worth it) ~ Mic can harmonize with himself. Periodt. ~ ~ Tetsutetsu and shinso spend so much time at the 1-a dorms that one time bakugo cooked food for them too. ~

~ On that note, bakugo is obviously an amazing cook and when hes cooking for himself he will "accidentally make too much so you extras can have it" ~ ~ Shoto is literally turtlenecks™️ ~ ~ Mic literally has the worst sleep schedule like how is this man alive???? ~ ~ At night iida will run around the dorms saying goodnight to everyone and checking that they are all still in the dorms because he feels it’s his responsibility to look after everyone ~ ~ Shigirakis favourite thing to do is to just stand in the rain. He finds the rain soothing and calming to him because it’s one of the only things that he can’t destroy so it gives him peace of mind that he still human and isn’t the completely destructive monster everyone claims him to be. ~

the siblings and their cousin! very peculiar “canon” designs i know. (also i’ll be making the designs as to how they are for a good portion of the arc, so they’ll get adult designs later) these designs are them around 6 moons. cinderpaw wasn’t a warrior apprentice for too long before she got her injury..  while not mentioned by name in the first book, i made some connections through personality and colour in into the wild, the kits are mentioned as one being a tortieshell, another being fluffy and gray, a black kit, a tabby kit, and a gray-and-white kit. obviously they retconned the colours after into the wild because they figured out how they wanted to use them as characters and had an idea for who the father could be, and wanted them to have some resemblance.  so i’m ignoring the retcon and combining the colours. brightpaw is a tortie with a lot of ginger. swiftpaw is a black smoke tabby with high white markings. I personally believe swiftpaw wasn’t that much older than them since he’s (i’ll be considering the gray-and-white tabby to be him because it would make no sense for them to just poof out five cats and add in five more like they aren’t the same character) seen playing with thornpaw and thorn is described as small while swift is little which i would say denotes a similar size. i have no idea where the warriors wiki got their age information because i fact-checked and did not find a single mention of swift’s age other than him being the oldest, which doesn’t necessarily make him old. by my calculations, he’d me 17 moons at most, and that’s stretching it, 16 moons being a reasonable estimate, and 13 moons at least. It’s easy to estimate this because at the beginning of a dangerous path, swiftpaw is described as being close to longtail’s height, assuming longtail has indeed filled out a bit more since into the wild, i’d place him as being as tall as longtail was then at 14 moons, if he hasn’t, then 12 moons since they’re both small cats. 1 moon at least since a full moon happens twice that month indicative of a month.  (some of this may be a bit lopsided becuase it’s getting really late by which i mea it’s becoming monring) it’s more reasonable to assume that he was approximately 1.25 years old. (sorry for the tangent, of which there will be more when it comes to certain wiki information)

brackenpaw is a bimetalic tabby cinderpaw is a black smoke tabby too. i tried to make her awkwardly twisted leg look awkwardly twisted. thornpaw is a golden brown tabby. easy to get away with because that kit aspiring to be a great warrior was the only explicitly tabby. i also gave him an ear nick to reference that injury the tabby kit got. i think it’s also very sweet that yellowfang looked after the same kit she yelled at for bumping into her while playing. (this is all just based off reasonable assumptions i’ve made while reading and researching the books)
