it actually really grinds my gears that for the last like what few years after roe v wade was overturned and people have already been dying due to lack of abortion access and gynecological care that wasn't enough to spur anyone into action but the minute the evil cartoon president gets reelected NOW all of a sudden everyone is like "oh no my abortion rights!" girl they're already gone! joe biden and the DNC saw to that! they're gone! and now this past year like every year they dangled it like a carrot in front of a horse in your face to try and get you to vote for them and it didn't work because they're not only doing nothing to protect healthcare for anybody but they're taking their time instead to sponsor and commit genocide. but no it's only donald trump who's evil and no one else in the world and once he's gone everything will be the perfect utopia it once was right? 🙄

I am trapped in a nightmare that I can't seem to wake up from. I remember the days when life was beautiful, stable, and full of warmth. My children lived in comfort; they knew peace, security, and a sense of belonging. Now, everything has changed. Our days are filled with fear, and I can barely provide for their basic needs. I look at their faces, and it breaks my heart to see them struggle in a world so far from the life we once had. How can I accept this harsh reality when the memories of our peaceful life are still so vivid? The contrast is unbearable, and I feel lost, torn between what was and what is.

STOP!; Help Hilda and Her Family Survive!

Hilda and her husband Mohamed were newly-wed before the siege on Ghazzah began. They were displaced last October and now live in a little tent far away from their now destroyed home.

Around 10 people are sheltered in this one tent, 3 of them being children, and their conditions are absolutely horrible. They have very little to eat and are surrounded by pests and disease. They've even seen venomous snakes in their area!

Their tent has been flooding overnight and does absolutely nothing to protect them from extreme heat or cold.

Hilda is also pregnant with her first child, which has compounded much of the difficulty she's faced.

Still, she must constantly work to keep herself and her family alive, even while her pregnancy pains continue to get worse and worse.

She is deeply worried for her future child's safety and the world they're going to be born into. There is no medical aid for her pain.

In order for Hilda and her family to be able to eventually evacuate, they need to raise €50,000. So far, they've only raised €4,302 with their last donation being 2 hours ago.

The Exotic Animal Photo Reference Repository is live!

Here's how this repository works: all photos were taken by me, a human, at zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries, and other facilities with animals in human care. There is no AI involved in the photo editing or creation and there never will be. Right now there's 56 species on the site; my catalog has over 300 and I will be uploading the rest of them as fast as I can.

Artists creating derivative or transformative works (without AI) have blanket permission to use these references. Yes, even for work you're going to sell.

All other usage/reproduction requires permission, but assume I'm friendly and please do ask! That's educators, researchers, the media, people who need images for a school presentation, etc. This is just to retain copyright/control in case they're scraped/reused unethically - it doesn't meant I don't want folk to have access! So please do reach out via the contact form on the repository website, I don't bite and I'm most likely going to say yes.

Please don't repost the repository photos to your own blogs: I've created @animalphotorefs as a dedicated blog to share photos from the site, and of course I'll reblog a lot of it here! That again just helps with retaining copyright and sourcing of the images. If you really want to repost some for a specific purpose, please just ask me first!

Also, folks, this project has no funding. It's just me and my camera.
