thinking about an au (or post-canon hc but really far-fetched) where saiki ends up joining a theatre troupe somehow
basically, he gets fed up with not having any sort of safe space and not having many people he can be himself around, especially since his own HOME was never the place for that no matter how much he wished it was and he gets too tired of his family not respecting his privacy and his friends ruining every moment he gets to himself
and he decides that no matter WHAT gets in his way, hes going to MAKE a safe(-ish, i mean he still cant just be psychic around people for fun but he can prob be a little more lenient and express himself) space for himself
so he considers a few things like joining a school sport or club, but he still sucks at controlling himself in sports and doesnt want to let himself get any sort of popular at school where people he KNOWS are, which he realizes is the biggest part of the issue and he really wants a place where he can almost have a new start i guess ? like a vigilante with a secret identity who only comes out at night except its just a teenage boy who wants to be himself for a few hours a day LMAO.. he wants somewhere where nobody has any preconceptions about him at all and he can't embarrass himself by being "out of character.." and can just wear his germanium without worrying, so he eventually picks up theatre outside of school
he finds a job probably somewhat of a commute away from hidariwakibara so he can be sure (bad move buddy, NEVER think youre "sure") that none of his pet nuisances will ever see any of the shows hes in.. maybe at a youth theatre or a theme park ?
he probably does mostly just singing and dancing because i would think hed be a little more anxious to actually ACT on stage.. singing is different than SPEAKING, especially for him..
he doesnt tell any of his friends he got a job and just says hes been busy whenever they ask where hes been, so they start getting suspicious/concerned when hes NEVER at home when they come to see him and is way more uncharacteristically stubborn about being too busy to hang out (i mean cmon, usually he cracks after like ONE "please")
somebody he works with probably happens to go to/transfer to PK and starts greeting him at school once he starts forming relationships with his coworkers, so some of his friends see and ask him who they are and he has to tell him he works with them.. (he cant lie cuz theyre literally at his school and someone could just ask them)
i imagine he would still refuse to tell them WHERE he works, so someone like aiura or teruhashi or both probably befriends his coworker and finds out stuff from them..
its basically pheonix wonderland/wonderlandsxshowtime im realizing LMFAO, thats what im picturing as the type of shows hes in and how he sings/dances.. okay nene kusanagi ! bro doing those silly ass songs with a straight ass face
#i will not be satisfied until i or someone draws saiki in a silly little stage costume#stoic little tsundere stage performer<3#he probably considered being kuriko for this for precautions but it defeated the point of feeling more free#bet he can do so many party tricks with his powers subtly-ish#this whole thing is basically inspired by me meeting people who r rlly shy and quiet but then r also rlly fun stage performers#also came from me overthinking the battle of the bands thing i talked about#and i came to this instead because i thought what if saiki really DID want to perform but he would NEVER in front of so many people he knows#saiki k#tdlosk#the disastrous life of saiki k.#saiki kusuo#meows post

F!Y/n x Teruhashi ( Saiki k fandom )
There was another new student coming? Gosh there were so many transfer students already and now, another one?
Teruhashi was living her best life, like always. She was the perfect pretty girl, after all. When she walked inside the school, all the boys came up to her and started following her like a bunch of baby chicks. Except for Saiki, of course. Teruhashi had a huge crush on Saiki, as he already knows. But she could never get him to like him back or get his attention. She became quite sad that she couldn't get this one boy to fawn over her like everyone else did.
Teruhashi sat in her seat, drawing on her desk a bunch of pretty flowers, everyone came in the classroom and waited for the teacher to come. When he did, everyone waited patiently for the new girl to come. Teruhashi didn't pay much attention though, she already knew that the new girl wouldn't be as pretty as her anyway. But she DID want to see what you looked like, so she tried being as patient as she could like the rest of the class.
Then, the door twisted open.
You walked inside with a calm smile on your face, excited for your first day at this school. Teruhashi dropped her pencil, staring at you instead of picking it up. You were ... So pretty ...
Everything was focused on you. Your eyes were so gorgeous and your smile was so comforting, it was almost like .. you were prettier than Teruhashi? What! no! You couldn't be! Nobody can beat Teruhashi!!
Or so everyone thought.
Your seat was right next to her. As you sat down, you picked up Teruhashi's pencil for her and gave it to her. Making lovely eye contact with her. Teruhashi turned a bit pink, feeling her cheeks get warm, she quickly took the pencil, muttered a "thank you very much" and tried her best not to look at your beauty.
It was like a warzone. Y/n VS Teruhashi, who was prettier?
Teruhashi knew she was perfect, but you, were just so ... Amazing. You understood her feelings like nobody else, you knew how she felt on the inside, you get her.
She caught feelings for you, but tried to deny it everytime, because she always thought she was straight. Besides, doesn't she like Saiki?
Saiki tried his best to get you two to hang out. It was like playing matchmaker. But after Teruhashi went to Aiura for answers, she said this.
"Well, it seems like Y/n matches your soulmate criteria perfectly! Teruhashi~ I think you've found her!"
Teruhashi let out a small gasp, her hands trembling with suprise. but little did she know, you felt the same way.
It was at a sleepover. Teruhashi, you, Aiura, Chiyo and Mera were playing truth or dare with a lie detector. Teruhashi was asked, truth or dare? She picked Dare, because she obviously didn't want someone to ask her who her crush was. But then Chiyo turned the tables,
"I dare you to tell us your crush!"
"Chiyo.. I don't have a crush silly!"
*BEEP* That was a lie.
"Teruhashi, is it someone we know? Or maybe in this room?~" Oh god, she knows.
Teruhashi decided to just give out hints. One by one, everyone found out her crush, and you were left at shock.
You smiled, went up to her and kissed her forehead. She blushed like a maniac and started getting really flustered. You giggled, your laugh was the most prettiest sound that she'd ever heard.
Saiki was so relieved, but also happy for the both of you finding happiness from eachother. He finally has some peace now..
What a perfect couple.. </3

Chapter Twenty-Six: Noisy New Year’s
Summary: Being a psychic is not an ideal life, at least for Saiki Kusuo. Didn’t you read/watch The Disastrous Life of Saiki K to know that? Still, this isn’t about him, not really. Instead, let’s focus on his one and only friend, Akari Watanabe, who is also quite abnormal. You might not believe that Saiki would actually have a friend, but that’s what fanfictions are about, right?

A/n: Ah, well, it's December now! WOO! It's christmas time babyyyy I so hope that it snows out where I am. I feel like it hasn't snowed all too much, and I love snow.
---
THIS WAS BY FAR THE LAST PLACE that Akari would want to be. Celebrating the season is fine, New Years is a pretty nice holiday. However, to come to the shrine and be surrounded by so many people was not something that she enjoyed at all. Completely relatable, I'm sure quite a few of us can agree on that. Though it’s not like she had much of a say in it. Every holiday, without fail, the Watanabe family and Saiki family spent time together. With that being said, the majority of both families wanted to go partake in the celebration.
It’s so crowded. Too noisy. Akari would love nothing more than to be embraced by shadows to relax in their cool loneliness. She could feel that Saiki felt quite the same as her, for the scowl on his face. Then again, he usually has a permanent scowl on his face. Even with the usual expression, Akari knew exactly what he was thinking. They were on the same wavelength most of the time after all.
Neither of them wanted to be at the shrine. Though due to social conventions and family priorities, they were forced to come. To partake in society, much to their dismay. Though we all love getting to read about all the wacky adventures that ensue, right? Because I sure do! Shame that we have to suffer through this terrible writing, but I’ll take what I can get.
Despite being at a shrine, Akari didn’t necessarily have a belief in any sort of deity. When one is born with some supernatural abilities they tend to really consider the existence of a higher power. Add in the fact that she then has a best friend who has abilities that could literally be considered that of a god and she really couldn’t pinpoint if there was a celestial power out there. She came to her own conclusions eventually, which were that if there was a god, they certainly had a horrible sense of humor.
She had been labeled a demon by her paternal grandparents at birth. Thanks to the abilities that she was born with, they came to their own conclusions about her. Akari didn’t think that her striking yellow, cat-like eyes really helped her case back then either. Though from what her father tells her just about all the time, she was quite the cute baby back then. She believed it since there were a plethora of photos of her growing up. Really, mountains upon mountains of scrapbooks from her life.
Then again, she never knew her paternal grandparents, and really didn’t care too after the stories her mother told her about them. She could understand being unnerved by her abilities at first glance. However, her parents didn’t leave her like they did, her brother wasn’t scared of his big sister having shadow-manipulation, so Akari didn’t think her grandparents had much of an excuse. Perhaps if they stuck around longer they would have realized just how harmless Akari was to everyone.
Though she wondered, if she was a demon, who would be an angel? Maybe Teruhashi, with her desirable amount of beauty, constantly being favored by the universe or god to get what she wants, and never having real misfortunes could be considered an angel. That seemed like it would make the most sense. Still, not that Akari thought that she really deserved the title. After learning about how selfish and rotten Tsukishima could be in her own thoughts, Akari had to think that she wasn’t 100% an angel as she tried to be.
“It’s so crowded.” Kuniharu complained. There really were a lot of people out today. Just looking at it seemed tiring.
“Of course it is.” Kurumi said, “It’s New Year’s Day.”
“Good grief,” Saiki mentally grunted, “I would rather spend my New Year’s quietly at home.”
Akari shuffled herself in her slightly larger black sweater, “You and me both.” Not only was it crowded, but things were quite loud with so many people talking around them. She hated that her family wanted to go out and participate in society like this. At least there was one upside to this which was that she could spend time with her mother, since Miku took this holiday off to spend with family. Getting to spend time with her mother was always a lovely time for Akari since she rarely gets to see her most days.
Kuniharu turned to his wife, praying, “I hope I can have another happy year with my beloved wife.”
“What?” She blinked in confusion, “Why are you making that wish to me?”
“What are you talking about? It’s because you’re my goddess.” Damn, you smooth man. Really hitting his wife with the rizz right there.
“This is not how I want to start my new year,” Kusuo groaned in annoyance.
Yamato was also quite affectionate with his wife, at least a perfect amount that he knew she loved. He had his arm wrapped around her waist while placing a kiss on the side of her head every so often. While out in public, he knew to tone down his affections for her since she didn’t completely like pda. Especially within a crowd as large as this. So he wouldn’t be as outwardly loud about his love, at least right now. Though it was taking everything within him to really hold back. Especially considering this was one of the only times of the year that she swept her work away to spend time with her family whole-heartedly.
The overly romantic man leaned into his wife’s ear, “I wish for many more magical years with you beside me, my love.”
Miku hummed, “your wish won’t come true if you tell me.”
“My first wish has already come true though!”
“Oh, and what’s that?”
Yamato became starry-eyed, “That you said yes to me all those years ago.” Which Miku just huffed to, more than amused by her husband. Though she certainly shared his sentiment, even if she wasn’t going to show it at the moment.
So the families walked up to pray and make their wishes. Saiki and Akari went up together just after both their mothers did theirs. Saiki’s dad also came up with them, though it wasn’t like they were paying attention to him.
“A wish?” Saiki asked, “I can always grant my own wish, not that I have any. Besides, I don’t believe in any god.”
‘What’s the point when you could be considered one.’ Akari said, also praying, ‘I wish to take a nap after this.’ A very reasonable wish to have. One that I’m sure most of us have even now.
Saiki rang the bell and thought about his own wish. “Whatever. I suppose I should make a wish, too. I hope I can have a quiet New Year’s.” He really needs to learn not to say this stuff, Saiki is just jinxing himself.
Rikuto, walked up to his parents, “Mom, can we go to the store now?”
She nodded her head, “Finish praying and then we will.”
“Okay!” He fist bumped the air, triumphantly.
So Rikuto made quick work of finishing up with his prayer and making his wish(Which no doubt had to do with manga in some way), more than excited to get to the bookshop. After all, if he was going with his parents, he had the opportunity to talk his father into getting him whatever manga he wanted. Yamato would gladly buy Rikuto whatever he wanted since he adores his children. His family have him wrapped around their fingers and there’s little that Yamoto would say no to for them. Which is why Miku was there with them. Least Rikuto convinces his father into buying him one of everything.
“Are you going to stay with Kusuo for the day?” Miku asked her daughter.
Akari nodded her head, “Is it ok that I sleep over too?”
“Of course, just come home for breakfast, you know your father will have a fit if you aren’t there for his breakfast.”
With that, Yamoto hugged and kissed his daughter goodbye, the families all said their farewells, and Akari was left with the Saiki family. Though she probably should have taken the opportunity to go home with them, with what’s to come.
It seemed like Saiki thought that the Wanatabe’s had the right idea, “Okay, now we can go home…”
“What? Saiki!” Oof, you spoke too soon Saiki. Now it’s time for plot!
Saiki nearly rolled his eyes, “See? There is no god.”
It was Kaido who had shouted out to him. The blue-haired boy came waltzing over to his friends with a smile, “This must be fate.”
“This isn’t how I wanted to start my year. Your scarf is dragging.” It indeed is dragging, reminds me of the Doctor.
Akari gave her friend a small wave, “Hi Kaido.”
“Ah, Watanabe! Didn’t see you there.” No one ever does. “Are you here visiting a shrine for New Year’s? Me? I was just passing by. God doesn’t exist in this world anyway.” Technically, one could argue that Shūichi Asō is your god, or even that MJ is your god. Couldn’t everyone who writes a story and controls their characters be considered a god by said characters? Wait, does that mean that MJ is my god then?!? Oh, I’m not ready for this existential crisis right now! I need some coffee.
Looming over the teens now were Saiki’s parents. Their eyes sparkling in amazement at the new boy talking to their son. Akari also would say that she would be surprised considering she knows how Saiki could be about friendships and stuff. Though still, she knew he didn’t like that they would make a big deal about it, or that they even thought that Kaido was his friend.
“Hello! I’m Kusuo’s dad!”
“And I’m his mom! You’re so cute! Thank you so much for being friends with Ku!”
Really they were crowding the teens with how overbearing they were being right now. “What?” Kaido jumped at their sudden eagerness to thank him, “Oh! Nice to meet… I’m the Jet-Black… Kaido!”
Akari blinked owlishly, ‘did he really try to introduce himself as the Jet-Black Wings?’
“Oh, your name is Kaido?” Kurumi said happily.
The boy just continued to stutter at the attention, “I am also thankful to be his friend. Right. I am.”
Akari eyed the way that he was talking so strangely, “He really can’t talk to adults, can he?”
“Can’t you be more consistent?” Saiki said, “Make up your mind!”
Kuniharu smiled blissfully at his son, “So, you have friends other than Akari and Nendo, Kusuo.”
He scowled, “Nendo isn’t a friend.” Akari hummed, not completely believing that statement, mainly due to the fact that Kusuo had to accept Nendo as something at this point. ‘Friend’ was better than nothing.
His mother agreed, “I was so surprised.”
“Yes. Me, too. I never expected Kusuo to have three friends.” That was a bit of a backhanded compliment from Saiki’s dad. Saying he’s surprised his son can have friends while also having the ability to make friends. If it were me, I wouldn’t let that slide. …Actually I would, because I hate confrontation.
“No, not that.” Kurumi blushed, happiness radiating off of her, “I actually just wished for Ku to have plenty of friends. And it’s already come true!”
Saiki scowled, “Then why can’t they grant me my wish, too?”
Though Akari stared at the dazzled expression of the older woman, ‘You’re mom is actually so wholesome.’ She found it quite adorable how Saiki’s mother always did wholesome things like this. Wishing her son had friends, doing her best for him, trying to understand him(to the best of her ability), honestly Akari thought she was one of the best. Of course, her own mother was on the top of that list for her, though Kurumi is a really close second.
“Oh, I actually wished for the same thing!” Kuniharu boasted to his wife, “You and I think so alike!”
“I don’t believe that for one second,” Akari snickered under her breath. Though Kuniharu heard that and deflated just a little bit. How could she think so little of him? Sure, she was right, but still!
After that, it was like God had a personal vendetta against Saiki. Punishing him for seemingly no reason. Or maybe there was a reason, that reason being for our entertainment. Not only had Kaido shown up, but after him it was Hairo, then Nendo, and then Teruhashi of all people. It certainly didn’t help Saiki's mood that they were all here. Something that Akari could easily feel. The pleasantries that were exchanged between them all didn’t necessarily interest Akari, not in the slightest. Not like they even saw that she was there. She didn’t really care that they were there.
Hell, Hairo didn’t even know she was standing right next to Saiki until Nendo mentioned it and said hello to her. Teruhashi also didn’t notice her until then either, but she still ignored her existence even after Akari was pointed out. Not that Akari cares, she just wants to nap. She also knew that Saiki would want to escape all of this at the moment. He wanted to be alone, something she could relate to, and figured that this was going to ruin that. Then when Kuniharu came up with a great idea, Akari knew that she had to say something.
“I know! Why don’t you all come over? We have New Year’s food.”
Kurumi was just bursting with excitement at her husband’s idea, “Yes! Please come!”
“Oh! Let’s go!” Nendo shouted.
Ever the polite young woman, Teruhashi said, “If we won’t be too much trouble.”
Saiki froze, “How come you’re not granting my wish, God?”
Akari looked from the excited group talking about going to the Saiki house and her best friend. Obviously there was only one choice that she could make here. So she cut through their conversation with her haunting voice, which gave them all chills.
“Actually,” her whispery voice called out, surprisingly easy to hear over the excitement from the others. “Ku and I have plans after this.”
“Oh?” Kurumi blinked, a bit deflated at the fact that they might not be able to meet all of these lovely friends of her sons. “You do?”
Ever the idiot, Nendo blurted out, “Must be another date for you guys!”
“Date?!” All of them exclaimed in varying degrees of shock and surprise.
“Good job, pal.” Nendo gave him a thumbs up, seemingly congratulating on yet another date between them. He certainly supported anything his pal and gal pal did, especially dating each other.
Saiki scowled at Nendo for even suggesting that. That would definitely make everything more difficult. Especially with Teruhashi here actually able to hear that. Speaking of the perfect pretty girl, she tried to keep the facade of just simple surprise on her face, but there was an underlying annoyance in her expression. We don’t really need to have telepathy to know what she was thinking as her eye twitched while staring at Akari.
Akari just shook her head, “No. We were going to our favorite cafe for New Years.”
Saiki knew for a fact that they didn’t have any plans. At most, they probably were just going to go to one of their houses and just laze around. Maybe Saiki would play a video game while Akari napped on his bed, they weren’t really too pressed on what to do.
Akari took Saiki’s elbow, leaving no room of argument for anyone to make. As far as they needed to know, they did have plans. They ignored the talk of their friends and Saiki’s parents behind them, all of them disheartened about them leaving but wanting to try it another time. So they navigated through the crowd until they left the shrine, safe from being bothered by their annoying friends.
As he was being led away by Akari, Saiki looked down at the back of her head with an awed expression, “Are you god?” Akari glanced up at him in confusion for a moment before giggling.
---
Yes, Akari had told them that they were going to their favorite cafe, but perhaps that was just to throw off the others. Precautions had to be taken, just in case they were going to end up being stalked by Saiki’s parents or their friends. Even though they said that this was by no means a date or anything, what they said would just end up going in one ear and out the other with them. Though it’s not like there were many places that they could go without it being busy. Most areas had people out eating, hanging out, just spending the holiday outside. Not only that but the teens couldn’t go to either of their homes at this time. If they did go to their homes then their parents would know, and they had done this to avoid Saiki’s parents as well as their friends. Plus there’s no doubt that they would hassle them due to Nendo’s ‘date’ comment. So it was best to avoid that.
Instead, Akari had suggested just getting a blanket and sitting at a park. There was no doubt in her mind that he would agree to it. Any chance that he could take to get away from people to be alone, he would certainly take. Well, almost alone. Though he certainly doesn’t mind just being with her. (Not in that way, obviously. Don’t read too far into that statement.) Saiki teleported to Akari’s house, grabbed a blanket and teleported back to her. So they made sure to set up in an area that they deemed nice enough.
“The fact that we ran into all of them at the shrine was unfortunate.”
“It really does seem like God hates me.”
“You and me both,” Akari groaned, “I just wanted to nap. Though it is quite funny how God seems to have it out for you.” Saiki just scowled as she laughed at his misery.
While Akari didn’t notice it, Saiki certainly could see their friends stalking behind them. He could hear everyone’s thoughts, of course he could hear their curious thoughts as they watched Saiki and Akari walk along the paths. Though he certainly was not going to let them bother either him or Akari after they had first escaped. He didn’t care that the group wanted to know if they were dating. They really were just a bother. Even Teruhashi’s clear jealousy towards Akari was not going to ruin his peace. After all, Akari had already done enough to get them away from them. So with the use of his powers, he made sure to evade and confuse their group of stalkers. Akari was none the wiser. Perhaps because she was more focused on finding a good spot to nap. Which they did end up finding, now without their ragtag group of tagalongs behind them.
Akari floated across the grass of the nearby park that they escaped to. While there were a few people milling around, they didn’t seem like they were going to bother the teens. So they tried to keep themselves in the most secluded part of the park. There was a small area, one with quite a few trees and bushes that separated a small clearing from the rest of the park. Just perfect.
“This actually is not how I saw today going.” Saiki said as they laid on the blanket. Well, Akari was laying down, Saiki was just sitting next to her.
“Though better than how it could have been.” Akari tiredly commented. Saiki hummed in agreement. She let out a yawn and stretched, seemingly resembling a cat, “I’m just glad I can nap now.”
Saiki peered down at her from behind his glasses and gave her an amused look, “It always baffles me how you can fall asleep anywhere. You really are quite lazy.”
Aikari chuckled under her breath, “Lazy is my middle name.” She shuffled around a bit, making sure that she was comfortable enough on the ground.
It didn’t take long after that for Akari to doze off with some soft snoring. Not that Saiki really minded. He expected that she would since he could see how tired she was since they were at the shrine. She cuddled up next to Saiki, but made sure to not cling to him at all. Since she knows that he doesn't like physical contact. She had gotten him out of one uncomfortable situation, she certainly didn’t want to put him into another.
So Saiki just sat in silence, thinking to himself and admiring the solidarity that he had been allotted. Thank god for his friend. She really does pull him out of situations that he didn’t like just at the right times. Sure, he could probably do it himself, though he didn’t think he could say no to his parents and their pressures. Especially his mother, he could usually say no to her, but she has her moments over him.
He glanced down at the shadow-manipulator as she snored lightly beside him. If there was one thing that he was actually happy about today, it was getting to grant Akari’s wish. While he thought that she was quite the god by saving him from having to suffer through the group of idiots coming to his house, he would try to be her god by granting her wish. He brushed lock of inky hair from Akari’s forehead. It almost looked like he was… admiring her… Though that would be silly, right?
Whatever you’re thinking about the two of them, dont! Saiki might be able to hear you and call you stupid for thinking it. Trust me, I’d know. Still, even with the soft sunlight coming down from between the leaves, the occasional chirping of birds, and murmur of people passing by, Saiki really did notice how adorable Akari looked while napping.

A/n: When it came to writing this chapter, I did initially plan on writing it all out. However, as I was finishing it up and getting the dialogue, I realized that it was quite tedious. Not only that but I figured I could write a new little story line for this. Basically changed the ending of this one and added my own little ending with it. I like it, I hope you did too :)

♡ indifferent [1]
♡ pairing: saiki kusuo x f!reader
♡ synopsis: kusuo found himself noticing one of the most boring student in class, [name], finally realising she was the culprit behind his crisis of getting disturbed at random timings.
♡ t/w: slowburn, this will be a series, sfw, little angst? kusuo is lowkey stalking reader but its more like observing, similar to how he likes to watch satou 💀
♡link to pt2: friends? , pt3: furry feline
'what's the reasoning behind humans needing to pee more when it's cold...', it was the mysterious voice again sounding in his head, with another ridiculous topic.
'not again, it's the 10th time this week.'
the pages of the manga created a crinkling sound as kusuo gripped onto it, a vein popping out on his forehead. it was the mysterious voice again. always popping up almost everyday for the past week. the worst thing was that it would be so out of the blue, at random timings.
not only was the voice annoying, it was loud as well. kusuo wanted to use clairvoyance to find out who it was who kept interrupting his time for relaxation. however, the voice sounded rather feminine. and considering the type of things she says, kusuo was able to deduce that it was likely something called "shower thoughts" that humans regularly have.
even though he found the voice rather irritating, he still found the topics discussed amusing. although after listening for awhile, he'd put his germanium ring on.
it was against his personal pride to try to peek on a woman like that so he never tried to watch you. afraid he would end up doing something toritsuka would do, he would rather die than to be lumped in the same category as his purple headed friend acquaintant.
back to the clues kusuo was gathering, he knew she had to live near him. otherwise her voice wouldn't be so loud, and considering that it has only appeared this week, there's a high chance that she just moved in about five days ago.
'maybe it's because our bladders contract, ah yes! in the cold, it contracts so it holds less of our fluids!' it was her voice again, so enthusiastic.
'not an impossible theory, actually plausible. good job stranger.'
there was a moment of silence.
'what is the most reactive metal in the-', her voice was cut off as kusuo put on his beloved germanium ring.
'that's new, solving a chemistry question while in the shower.'
♡
the loud chattering of students surrounded him, kusuo had already gotten used to the noises in his head.
relief washed over his body when the teacher finally stepped into the classroom. it took awhile for everyone to settle down, but as soon as they did the teacher started speaking.
"today we will be discussing about the cleaning duties." she started, eyes narrowing as she glared at certain students before continuing, "I received several complains about a few of you skipping your duty, I'm sure you all know who you are."
'ah yes, the classic "if no one admits it, I'll punish everyone until someone does" how fair.'
"no, I will not be punishing all of you, instead, I'd like to pick someone to ensure that everyone does their duties." the teacher really contradicted saiki's statement, but it was hard to listen to her thoughts when everyone around him was panicking in their heads.
"I'd like to volunteer!" a fiery aura came from a certain someone. and to no one's surprise, it was hairo, everyone's favourite passionate class representative.
"no, I would prefer someone who has no other duties so that they can focus solely on this." hairo seemed quite disappointed but accepted it.
"what about [name]?" she suggested.
'who? are they even in our class?'
"miss, I don't think we have a [name] in our class," yumehara, a girl with short hazelnut hair spoke up.
kusuo could hear everyone's thoughts. it could be confirmed that majority of the class had no idea who this [name] is. or at least the loudest thoughts he could hear were people going "who the hell is that?" or, "I knew our teacher was delusional all along."
"I'm [name]," a feminine voice sounded across the classroom. everyone stopped talking, turning their heads towards the back of the classroom.
"w-what?! when were you there?!"
"I've never seen you in my life!"
"are you sure you're in the right class?"
'good grief, making a big deal out of nothing. I just think that no one knows her.'
saiki's eyes widened, he recognised... her voice, that voice. hold on, maybe he's just hearing things. he has never heard her thoughts before. she's so near him too, there's no way he would miss her thoughts. or rather, that was not the case.
'I thought I called the wrong person for a moment, i didn't even know she was in my class until i checked the name list last night...' the teacher thought to herself in embarrassment.
'you forgot your own student?'
"I was here since year 1," you grumbled, knowing that no one would remember you after this incident anyways.
'it's definitely her. how come I've never noticed her until today..'
kusuo stared at you. his eyes lightening with glee as he realized how normal you were. the type of person he always admires.
'she's so normal. she's just like satou-kun, if not better! she's so boring that she blends in so well, no one noticed but she's always been in over 10 frames.'
flashbacks played in his head as there were in fact several instances where you were seen near by the group. even back to the very beginning, in the first episode where saiki was seen explaining his powers, you were walking right behind him. another instance was when teruhashi first met and noticed saiki, you were right there! looking at displays at a nearby shop for a spilt second before the camera pans to the psychic.
heck, you were even at the same temple during new years with everyone, at one point even standing right beside saiki. it's a miracle that he had never noticed you.
♡
recess came by, everyone was excited to finally have a break from classes.
"hey pal! let's go have ra-"
"saiki! we need to find out the HQ of the dark reunion!"
"hey saiki, do you mind doing 100 sit ups with me?"
'lunch break is always annoying.'
kusuo ignored the three boys surrounding his table.
'because they always come to me.'
saiki got up, pushing his chair back and walking towards the door.
"I'm going to the bathroom," he told the 3 boys telepathically.
upon taking a seat on the toilet (yes the lid is down), saiki immediately used clairvoyance. he was excited to observe you, to learn from you.
there you were! sitting with one, no two people!
'that's good, she actually has friends. right now, her popularity is 49.'
at 49, you aren't popular enough to be noticed but not to the point where you would get bullied.
there was only talking here and there, you were mainly focused on your food, adding onto the conversation every now and then.
'no one knew who I was..' you stared at your food, poking it around with your chopsticks.
your lips were pursed into a thin line, trying to hide the fact that you were quite upset over the incident earlier.
'maybe I should dye my hair to stand out more, then people would forget me less..' you thought as you started contemplating about what colour you'd like.
'no [name], keep your hair colour,' kusuo's eyebrows furrowed. he liked how normal you were, similar to satou. however he didn't like how upset you were.
'good grief, i guess I could help you out.' kusuo let out a soft sigh before leaving the bathroom.
♡
14.00
finally, school has ended.
kusuo was back in the bathroom, observing you as you walked towards your locker.
opening it, you let out a soft audible gasp as an envelope fell out of it. you stared at the paper the laid on the floor, mind barely processing what was before you.
'did someone leave this in the wrong locker?' you thought to yourself in disbelief.
picking it up from the floor, noticing that your name was written on the bottom right corner, indicating that it was infact for you.
you tried not to overthink it, although a small part of you was hopeful that this was a genuine message for you, from someone who actually wants to befriend you perhaps?
you turned your head around, checking if there was anyone around before opening it. pulling out a piece of neatly folded paper. as you unfolded it.
'is this a joke.' you deadpanned. staring at the paper that you held in your hand.
a picture of a dog?
'damn it! I thought once in my life I got a love letter. turns out its just someone trolling me.'
you let out a sigh.
kusuo on the other hand as starting to regret not choosing something else. he knew he was horrible with words, so he thought an image of a cute dog would cheer you up. he didn't mean to add fuel to the fire.
your lips curled into smile, 'still.. it's pretty cute, maybe rika-san left this for me, she's always pretty thoughtful of people around her.' you placed the photograph back into the envelope before putting it safely into your file. you were going to protect this with your life.

Saiki kusuo x Male reader
Fem aligned DNI
(This is kind off an enemy to lover)
You where bothering him so much . With theses cute cheeks and those curious eyes that always seemed to light up when you saw him . Aah so annoying
Fortunately , for you . He wasn't the type to let his emotion off so easily .
Well usually .
Tho he didn't expected that annoying blue haired girl that was completely in love with him to invite you all to her house when nobody was here so you could all drink alcohol in peace .
You came last and where surprised to see saiki . "Teruashi probably didn't told him" you thought . And you are right . Teruashi did hide it from the poor pink haired man .
So there you where next to saiki that was cursing in his mind . To ease up the atmosphere she gave everyone something to drink and-
To your surprise saiki was the clingy drunk type . A drink later . The poor boy couldn't handle alcohol very well .
So now he was holding your arms while whining like a baby
Saiki: gnnh...hold meeee mmhmmm..meanie..
You couldn't help but laugh and hold him gently against you he was so cute like that .
He then started kissing and bitting your neck
Saiki: ..you deserve a reward..
He was all red and looked kinda cold . So you took well care of him during all the night and when it was time to go home you decided to bring him to his home first . Second surprise of the night , he suddenly teleported you to his room and pinned you to the bed
Saiki: ...me ..you ..sleeping now
YN: sure , as you want sleepy boy
He seemed pleased by your answer and then fell asleep on top of you clinging. He kinda looked like a koala .
Unfortunately for you the next morning you woke up by a surprised saiki that screamed really loudly , mentally.
YN: saiki is everything alright?!
Saiki: what are you doing on my bed ?!
YN: idiot , you asked me to sleep with you
Then his cheek became even more red
Saiki: uh ?! Why would I?!
YN: maybe because you don't hate me but...you love me ?
Saiki: tch and how are you gonna prove that stupid theory ??
You looked at him , he looked at you . And then you took him by the shoulder before kissing that blushing mess . He didn't even pulled off and instead pulled you closer .
Well he didn't really hated you he just never understood that sweet old feeling

Could you maybe do a saiki k headcanon about him falling for the reader who is yutas older sibling. Thank you and love your writing!!!!!!!
A/n: sorry of any occ. this was kinda meh. I tried to make it as believable as possible.
For starters Saiki was indifferent when acknowledging that you existed, he quite the observant character even when he didn’t want to be especially when it came to the nuisances that claim to be his friends but it was hard to ignore what he couldn’t avoid. So instead he decided to persevere the bullshit of the day in hopes of repaying himself with some coffee jelly at the little cafe he frequents. It’s what he deserves after listening the Nendo’s nonsense and Kaido’s rant about how he nearly tripped over his untied shoelaces were a result of the Dark Reunion.
‘No you just forgot to tie them this morning whilst Nendo antagonised you.’
Once you were adopted by the bunch after they figured out that you work part time at the same cafe Mera did as if you were a abandoned puppy left on the side of the road with a sign that read ‘free puppy. Plz take’ much to Saiki’s dismay that there was another person that he must endear with.
But back to the fact that he’s quite observant meant he knew about your habits, the fact that you had a little brother thanks to his telepathy and how obsessed with that marketing ploy of a show. Cyber-cider man 2 or whatever it was pronounced. Which reminded of the little kid who mistook him for the titular protagonist, whom he found out, was in fact the little brother you talked about prior when one day you showed them the photo your had in your phone of Yuuta dressed as Cyber-cider man 2 for Halloween whilst you were dressed up as the personification of peach tea?
Which also meant you were his neighbour…shit. God really did hate him because this crap was too coincidental to be unintentional for Saiki.
Even though he found your brother to be a pain he couldn’t help but respect how much you cared about your brother by how proud you came across when telling them that you crafted his Halloween outfit with some help from your mother while also trying to divert Yuuta’s attention elsewhere throughout the making process. Even your thoughts portrayed the same amount of pride you express when reminiscing how happy Yuuta was to be Cyber-Cider man 2 that later on you went out of your way to imitate the carbonated water abilities of the character to a more realistic degree as to make the suit complete in your own words.
But Saiki thought that your little brother would be ecstatic about the suit no matter what, with or without the replicated carbonated water abilities aside. Though he wouldn’t say this out loud as that meant attention would be drawn to him which meant he wouldn’t be left alone for his sudden out of character. So he kept it to himself for the time being.
‘You’re a great sibling’ it wasn’t too much nor was it uncharacteristic of him but it was definitely a sign that the relationship between you two changed if ever so slightly but it was enough to make Saiki question everything.
He suddenly found your presence more welcoming then most, found himself become more aware of the little things he did for you as if he was seeing someone else take over while he was forced to take a spectators position. He saw how he’d save you a seat during assemblies, pair up with you during PE and even going so far as to wait for you after school so you could walk home together under the guise that you were neighbours and as neighbours it was normal to walk to and from school together. Nothing more nothing less.
Considering the fact that Saiki has never felt this way before towards anyone and how he noticed his powers were harder to maintain when you were near, causing some spare sheets of paper to be mysteriously flung across the table or glass being inexplicably shattered on it own accord that the pinkette made the avid decision to avoid you indefinitely.
Which didn’t go over so well with you when you noticed this sudden change in behaviour but you never bothered him in as to why believing that he wasn’t in the mood for conversation and respected his boundaries and personal space. Which is what Saiki wished everyone else would do from time to time and what made him realise that his tolerance for you specifically wasn’t tethered within the platonic sense.
Which freaked him out more but seeing the insecure thoughts within your head about how he must hate you only made him feel guilty as he never meant to make you feel such a way it’s just…you make him feel a type of way that he hasn’t experienced in forever and now that he was it wasn’t something he’d ever be prepared for as it was just as chaotic and disastrous as his life has been thus far.
So to make things right, Saiki waited for you after school where he watched you -totally not creepy- light up when catching sight of a familiar mop of pink hair and green tinted glasses that made Saiki thank for his naturally stone cold face but couldn’t help the tiny smile that crept on his face that he quickly wiped away when you were within range.
“Saiki! I hope your feeling better, I just noticed how vacant you were recently and didn’t want to intrude on anything personal and I felt useless not knowing how to help while also wanting to give you your distance-
‘It’s fine y/n. You don’t have to worry yourself over me. I’m only here to ask if you wanted to grab some coffee jelly with me.’
Your smile only widened as you responded cheerily “yeah that sounds nice, I would like to join you for Coffee Jelly Saiki.”
Whether this would be considered a date or not was something you could discuss at a later date but as for right now Saiki was just planning on making you smile as much as possible…whilst making sure Nendo, Kaido, Chiyo, Teruhashi, Aren and Mera were as far away as possible while doing so.
He didn’t need more embarrassment for the time being.

The Cat Was Already Out of the Bag
So, what if all of Saiki’s friends had figured out that he has powers before he told them?
Basically, a series of scenes of the characters figuring out that something really is odd with Saiki. I’ll try not to take any actual scenes from the anime/manga, instead writing my own where they finally figure it out.
Saiki had honestly though he kept his powers well under wraps. After all, only those he chose to let know knew about them. He couldn’t help his parents or brother knowing, and telling his grandparents was just a requirement of life. However, he had only needed a few people his age to know.
Toritsuka knew because of his own powers and Saiki made sure he’d never spill. Akechi knew him when Saiki was more flippant with his powers, but they hadn’t told anyone. Aiura only knew because Saiki had to save Yumehara from splattering on the ground. That was a bit more graphic all things considered. The point it, only a select few knew. At least, that’s what Saiki thought, until he finally had the courage to tell his friends.
“Oh yeah, we all knew that.” Nendo responded. Everyone nodded, treating this like a regular day. And to them all it was. ‘Wait, how in the world?’ “You weren’t exactly subtle about it.”
---
Nendo, ironically enough, was the first to figure it out. How? Well, first day of school second year, some guys tried to pour water on his head from the roof. Nendo never figured out why; they probably had some dumb reason like him being ugly. Whatever it was, Saiki had just moved the stream over a bit to hit a flower bush. Nendo had noticed, he isn’t a complete idiot, and from that day on pledged to stay Saiki’s best bud. After all, you don’t save just anyone from being humiliated first day of school.
---
Kaido noticed only a little later into their friendship. One day after school, Nendo dragged him and Saiki to some ramen shop. By that point, they were used to the routine. But Saiki had randomly directed them to a completely different shop when they weren’t even halfway there. Kaido first tried to explain it to himself by the fact Saiki had a sudden headache and the other shop was closer. However, the next day, Kaido saw a report on TV about a massive car crash that had occurred right near the shop they were supposed to go to.
---
Obviously, Saiki somehow knew that crash was going to happen before hand. Plus, there seemed to be a flash of someone with pink hair on the TV near all the people in the crash. Amazingly, all those people were completely uninjured. So, Kaido figured out Saiki had some sort of powers and decided to stay his best friend. After all, Kaido wanted to make sure no one made fun of Saiki like they did Kaido.
---
Yumehara was the next to notice, surprisingly enough. She’d had been trying to vie for Saiki’s attention, wrongly believing she had a crush. However, all her efforts were in vain. Yumehara knew her luck wasn’t that bad, so something had to be up with Saiki himself. I mean, the weather completely cleared up in an instant for God’s sake. So, Yumehara gathered Saiki had some sort of power and didn’t want her crushing on him. But she decided to at least stay his friend. After all, if she wrongly thought she had a crush, she might as well be his friend instead.
---
Mera was the next to make the connection. She should have gotten reprimanded by Mr. Matsuzaki and forced to quit her job at Café Mami. But that didn’t happen and the only other person in the store who could have seen the ordeal was Saiki. Additionally, Saiki had just left when two other guys came into the store on a later day to eat. Mera was certain they had closed up shop by that point trying to figure out how to revive the store. Lastly, she always seemed to have an extra granola bar or some other food in her bag even when she held her bag close to her the whole day. And each time without fail, she’d feel Saiki looking at her, checking to make sure she had the extra food.
So, Mera decided to stick by Saiki. After all, he’s helped her so much, she’d need to make sure to be around to return the favor.
---
Kuboyasu made the connection almost immediately after he transferred to the school. Quite a few times, Kuboyasu had accidentally broken something or had to beat up someone because they were bullying someone else. Each and every time, Kuboyasu didn’t get punished and the broken object was fixed, and the bully never stepped up. And each and every time, Saiki was right nearby. Kuboyasu could tell he was nearby; being a delinquent made sure your guard was always up. So, Kuboyasu stuck around Saiki, after all, Saiki and his friends were the only one to not be worried about his punk days, and that’s honestly all he could ask for in his friends.
---
Teruhashi eventually made the connection after her brother suddenly got called away for work when he was being especially pushy. How’d she know it was Saiki? Well, the next day at school, he had slyly asked how her brother’s sudden movie shoot went. He explained it away, obviously; something about Kaido and Imu having the scoop on all things Tooru Mugami, but Teruhashi’s no idiot. She decided to leave the topic to rest, though, and just continue as if nothing was out of the ordinary. After all, Saiki and the rest of their friends were the only one to treat her normally, and she wouldn’t lose that for anything.
---
Hairo figured it out, and probably would have sooner if he hung around Saiki a bit more. Saiki managing to knock over a boat with his ball at tennis camp was only the first indication. But the more Hairo paid attention to Saiki during gym, the more obvious it became. Hairo could always tell when someone was holding back in gym, and Saiki was clearly withholding a lot of strength. However, Hairo knew there had to be an underlying reason and never bother Saiki about it. After all, Saiki never made fun of Hairo’s need to always be active, which eventually would manage to get on everyone else’s nerves, if only a bit.
---
Saiko figured it out after transferring. You can’t be a wealthy heir and be dumb, so Saiko knew a thing to two about basic reasoning and logic. Whatever superhero-like person had shown up to teach Saiko a lesson after transferring mentioned coffee jelly would be the way to win him over. After that, anytime Saiki ate desserts, Saiko noticed it was always coffee jelly, making those two one in the same. No matter how strong someone is, it would be literally impossible to get through Saiko’s house without permission, meaning Saiki would have had to teleport to his room, or something to that extent. But Saiko decided to leave it alone; after all, these kids were the first to teach him that money isn’t everything, but he’d never tell them that.
---
‘So, you all knew about my powers?’ Saiki asked, extremely confused. “Yeah buddy, but we’d never judge you for it. You were born with it right? You couldn’t help it.” “Plus, us knowing never really impacted our relationships badly. If anything, I was glad to know because I knew you wouldn’t make fun of me for my fake powers.” Kaido responded in turn. “You’re just trying to survive high school like the rest of us, no need to point out something like that,” Yumehara added.
“Yeah!” Mera exclaimed, “Plus, you help us so much; keeping your secret would just be the kindest thing to do.” “You never judge us for our pasts or personalities, so it’d just be crappy to judge you or try to out that kind of thing,” Kuboyasu said. “You treat all of us normally, no matter what quirks or power-like abilities we have, so doing that to you would be extremely counter-productive,” Teruhashi added. “No matter what reason you had for it, we needed to respect it.” Hairo said. “Yes, even the plebs should be able to keep what they want secret as a secret,” Saiko finished off.
“I never knew you guys all respected me like this. Thank you,” Saiki said slowly, a small smile on his face.
---
This was really fun to write! I had this idea after reading some other fanfiction for this fandom and managed to write it in only a few hours. I hope you guys enjoyed and I'll be working on my fairytale retelling series some more. Bye, see y'all later!

Heyy, I was wondering if I could request something with saiki kusuo with 20 (the soulmate AU), thank you! Have a good day~
“Stop singing that damn song” x Saiki Kusuo
Yep! Thank you so much for requesting! I hope you have a good day as well :)
Now Saiki didn’t mind his soulmate mark on his inner-wrist shaped like a little strawberry, nor did he mind the hand print that was on his right foot. What he did mind was his soulmates incessant need to sing the same song over and over again.
At first he didn’t mind it and the off key singing was fine because it was only occasional, but then it became paired to his soulmates thoughts which were always so confusing!
Why did they need to have their thoughts going 60 miles an hour in their head?! Now the only reason Kusuo knows that it’s his soulmate and not his neighbors or something is because it’s unnaturally loud, like he’s 50% sure that while he’s taking a math quiz he should not be hearing off key singing at concert level volume.
On the other hand you were in love with the strawberry mark on your wrist, taking moments out of your day to admire it. The hand print on your forehead, also adore it, sure you had the occasional thought about how it got there, but other than that you absolutely adored it! It meant that your soulmate left the mark, and what’s more exciting than meeting your soulmate!
What threw you off was the fact that your soulmate didn’t convey many thoughts, nor did they EVER sing, which you find kind of boring! I mean what kind of person doesn’t even hum! You’re the type of person to constantly be doing something and if that meant humming during your math test while your singing like your in a concert, so be it!
You had heard of Saiki, the two of you were in the same class, though to be fair you’re the type of person who hangs out with Kaidou unironically(pls I hate slandering Kaidou just hang on!). So it wasn’t surprising that you and Saiki never had any interactions, you didn’t need to speak with him and you didn’t bother him so he sure as hell wasn’t going to talk to you, also why would he draw more attention to himself by associating with someone who was constantly surrounded by rumors.
The rumors about you weren’t always following you they just kind of came and went with lunch people letting out the occasional ‘did you see they’re forehead? Their soulmate probably slaps them!’ which you didn’t mind as long as you got to eat your lunch.
Today you decided to eat lunch in the club room where Kaidou held the meetings. You say peacefully in the chair with your legs crossed as you ate your lunch.
You glance around the room as you hum. In the class room right across, which is also the one you just came from as well as the one Saiki is currently in, Saiki is on the verge of screaming as his bento sits in front of him untouched while his hands have a death grip on his chair, because now not only is the singing slightly louder it’s now echoing as if they’re two identical voices singing just slightly delayed from being in sync.
Finally he just accepts defeat and puts away his bento, he’ll just walk around instead. The minute he steps into the hallway the singing is combined with a third voice also slightly delayed. And does he really want to know we’re it’s coming from? He already knows it’s his soulmate, he doesn’t want to talk to them right now they’re annoying!
But curiosity gets to him as he turns himself towards the right and makes his way to the door.
He has his hand on the doorknob and swings it open only for a person to fall out. He catches they’re head in his palm for a moment before he immediately retracts his hand and they fall to his feet.
“Oh my god.” They mumble as their head is still on his feet.
He looks down at them watching as sure enough when their head rises their hand caught themself and their hand was on his foot.
“You touched my forehead!” You squeal internally you were still singing the same song.
“Stop singing that damn song!” He mumbles looking down at you as you stand up.
“You can hear it?” You ask quietly.
“Yes.” He says bluntly.
“Well why don’t you ever sing?” You ask looking up at him. “Is your mark also a strawberry, are our marks in the same places?” Though your immediate response was to bombard your soulmate with questions assuming he knew the answers, he didn’t mind your annoying-ness, for some odd reason he found it quite endearing!
“Mines on my wrist.” He mumbles as he shifts uncomfortably on his bed. You had convinced him that you were going to die if the two of you didn’t hang out after school.
“Cool mine is too!” You say showing him the cute little strawberry adorning your wrist.
“Your’s is more to the left than mine is.” He points out.
“And it’s on the opposite arm.” He says once again as you examine the two.
“Kuu I’m home!” He hears his mother say as the door shuts. Why didn’t he notice her thoughts?
“Im coming!” He shouts before teleporting out of the room, he could explain it to you later, you were his soulmate you would have found out eventually.
He quickly explains that he has someone in his room and he’s mom lets him go back. Once he teleports back into his room, he watches your face contort from a confused to a look of awe.
“Are you ok?” He asks. You nod quickly.
“That was just really cool!” He stares in disbelief.
“Thanks?” He mumbles sitting back down so the two of you could get to know each other more.
Once Kusuo’s father got home the four of you had dinner, and surprisingly his parents loved you, they praised you so much that you were glowing at they’re compliments. Of course you didn’t just sit there and take them yob spit out compliments just as fast as Kusuo’s mom did.
So when you went home his parents made sure you knew that you were always welcome.
After hearing you hum the same damn song once again as he gets ready for bed he contemplates ways to make you stop singing. He lays down in his bed facing the wall as he debates.
A couple seconds later if you listen closely you can hear his faint humming, which sounds angelic to you!
“Kusuo!” You message as he rolls over to read the texts.
“Are you humming?!” God you’re just as nosy through text, he think rolling his eyes.
‘I heard that’ he can hear your voice echo. ‘But keep singing it was pretty.’ He sighs yet complies telling himself he’ll do it just to keep his mind quiet, as he falls asleep with the smallest smile and an even smaller blush.

Summary: The reader begins to realize his feelings for Saiki.
Saiki x M!Reader
Word Count: 8711
1. The Best Friends
Being friends with a psychic definitely had its ups and downs. At first, you didn’t notice a thing out of the ordinary with Saiki, well, granted you were kids when the both of you met so naturally you just wanted to be friends and thought nothing more. However, he noticed something odd with you the moment you two met.
He couldn’t read your mind.
Actually forget being about to read your mind, none of his psychic abilities worked on you. He couldn’t see through you and when he touched you without his super thin transparent gloves on nothing happened. You were basically immune to him.
At first, he thought something was wrong with you, or that maybe you had some psychic powers as well. That wasn’t the case at all. In reality, you were a normal human without any powers or tricks. That stumped Saiki even more, but it also became the soul reason he wanted to be your friend as well.
For one, he didn’t have to deal with your thoughts. Two, his image of you wasn’t ruined because he can’t see under your skin. Three, your calmer personality made him relax. And of course all those other things like your kindness and stuff, but those were irrelevant the moment he knew he couldn’t read your mind.
It’s been years since he met you in the park during recess, and now here you guys were, 16 years later and still friends. Oh, there was one thing that bothered him about you.
“What to hang out today?” You asked as you slung your bag over your shoulder.
“Sure.” Saiki said. Yep. That’s right, since he can’t get in your mind, he actually has to move his mouth when he talks to you.
It was a bit weird to others that he never did it with anyone else other than you, but he didn’t care.
On the way home he couldn’t help but notice you eyeing his antennas, the things that keep his powers stable. He turned his head towards you and gave you a curiosity look.
“Do those things poke at your head at all?” You asked, moving you hand up to poke at the top of the pink ball. “Like, does it make your head ichy?”
Saiki shook his head. He knew he had to talk to you at some points, but times like these he didn’t. He enjoyed that about you too, that you don’t force him to talk all the time. You knew it was a bit weird for him to talk, he explained it to you when he told you all about his powers.
“Hm,” you hummed out. Your hands going back at your side and into your pant pockets. “It would for me, if I was you. They just look painful, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do if you don’t wanna blow up the world.”
Saiki nodded his head, his eyes continuing to linger on you. It was one days like these when he saw you thinking so hard about something that he wished he could just take a peak. At some points, he loved the silence, especially when the both of you were watching movies, but right now, especially in this moment, he’d give anything to know. It was mostly prominent when he’d stare at you during class and you’d have this far out look in your orbs, you drew him in, and perhaps that’s why he fell for you.
Though, there were other factors that won his favor. Mostly the fact that, unlike everyone else, he can’t stare right through you and just see your raw muscles and pumping organs. Instead, he was able to focus on your handsome face and not get side tracked about your racing thoughts. You were the only person in the world that make him feel somewhat normal. That was a love-hate relationship at times.
“Think I could sleep over tonight?” You suddenly asked, “we don’t have school tomorrow.”
Saiki stared at you for a moment just to relish in that fact that nothing worked on you. No telekinesis, mind control, no nothing. He was going to have to win your favor just like everyone else. To him, it wasn’t normal, but looking at you, he didn’t seem to mind the extra work.
“Sure,” Saiki said. He still had trouble talking aloud, hell, sometimes he will actually use telekinesis and wait for your response only to have pure silence. “My parents are leaving for a wedding, so the house should be free for a while.”
When the two of you got to Saiki’s house, it was a bit peaceful until his parents had to head out. You liked his mom and dad a lot, they were like your second family, so you wanted to wish them a good time. It was for one Saiki’s dad’s coworkers.
“Are you sure you don’t wanna come with us?” Saiki’s dad asked his son. “You’ve met Kirishima before, and you can bring [Name] as your plus one date.”
You knew Saiki wasn’t going to be interested in a wedding. He always told you normal happy events for others is misery for him since he can hear the jealousy and pity that the crowd is thinking. You felt sorry that he couldn’t turn it off, but you were glad that you were the only person he could catch a break with. However, when you looking over at Saiki, he seemed to entertain the thought.
It was a new side to Saiki, one that made you confused. It was always either you or no one. You could tell the way he wanted to get away from many of the people in his class that seemed to have declared themselves his friends from a small interaction. Sure, you felt their interest, but it was just a bit sad to you that Saiki could never actually enjoy friends unless they were pure. Otherwise, he could hear all the backstabbing thoughts or otherwise stupid comments that go around in their brain that was thought to be private to them.
“I’m going to have to pass,” you commented. “I don’t have a suit, besides, you two should enjoy the night. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you both go out alone.”
Saiki’s mom smiled widely at you. Her eyes clouding over with a wet film before wrapping her arms around you for a tight hug. “Ah, thank you, [Name]! What would we do without you?”
You chuckled softy at the comment before saying, “Who knows, I rather not think about that.”
When she finally let you go, you and Saiki waved the both of them off as they left. Honestly, you weren’t sure if they’d even make it back at a reasonable time. It was a wedding, after all. Oh well, as long as they make it back drunk and safe rather than drunk and not safe, you didn’t mind. You were sleeping over anyway, so right now, you just wanted to hang out with your childhood best friend.
“What do you wanna do?” You asked with a calming tone.
Saiki turned his head to you. “TV?”
“Sure,” you smiled. However, as soon as you turned to the living room, you noticed the absolute mess his parents left behind. So, out of the goodness of your heart, you said, “How about you find something and all clean up this in the meantime. Sound good?”
Saiki nodded once more. He truly thought your actions were kind, but he rather have you watching TV with him than picking up his dad’s dirty clothes. He knew his father tended to be sloppy, but this was just a mess.
As you were about to pick up a pair of jeans, all the clothes that were strewn about the floor suddenly started to float in the air and shoot into the open washing machine. The trash floated itself into the garage while everything else was moved around to make it look clean until otherwise.
You pressed your lips together as your brows furrowed in annoyance. Once you turned to Saiki and saw his innocence face, you knew you couldn’t be angry but you had to ask, “Do you really want me to watch TV with you that bad?”
“Yes,” Saiki stated.
You sighed, your lips parting as you left the oxygen leave your lungs. “Fine, but let’s both clean up a bit before than. It’ll be a nice surprise and a way to thank your parents for letting me stay the night.”
Saiki nodded. “Okay.”
It took a bit of convincing on your end to let him let you help out. You may not have powers, but you didn’t want to take advantage of his. You knew it was effortless and he made it seem like it didn’t affect him whatsoever, but you knew every time he does something it takes a toll. His powers aren’t perfect.
You both ended up cleaning the living room, Saiki’s room, and now you were in the kitchen sorting the trash. Saiki was using his powers to sort while you whipped down the countertops.
“Good grief,” Saiki said aloud, his voice drawing your eyes to him. He was crouched down with two bags in front of him and the garage floating upside down, it’s contents was either going in the first or second bag.
“What?” You asked curiosity. It wasn’t all the time that he speaks from his mouth without you talking first.
“How could anyone have let it get this dirty in here?” He asked aloud. “I mean, really it’s a wonder we don’t have bugs.”
You were going to respond. That was until he suddenly shut his mouth, a chest deep grunt leaving him as you notice him stare at something on the furniture next to him.
It was a cockroach.
Mind you, the moment you realized what it was you weren’t the least bit surprised when he suddenly teleported. Saiki hates bugs. He could read the minds of humans, as well as animals, but he couldn’t with bugs. He thought they were small minded icky things. Hell, he couldn’t even let his powers touch the thing.
You counted down the seconds before he came back. It was around ten, maybe fifteen. He also teleported right behind you.
“Welcome back,” you greeted and watched as his eyes dart towards the floor.
“Sorry, I may have overreacted.” He muttered. “I just hate them.”
“I know,” you hummed out before looking around and grabbing a cup and piece of paper. Saiki watched you as you let the roach crawl on the piece of paper before placing the cup over it so it didn’t run away. You were quick to put it outside and close the window after so Saiki didn’t worry about it coming back in.
“All gone,” you cheered with a smile. “Now, let’s watch TV, ya?”
2. Saiki’s Pushy Friends
PK Academy was a school were many different personalities and people collided. It was always fun to meet new people in this school, yet on the other side of the coin, sometimes they were more than a little odd. Not like you can speak, your best friend was a psychic. Though, he wasn’t delusional like this one guy in your class that declared himself Saiki’s friend. His name was Kaido. He thinks he has powers and has an evil organization following him around.
Then, you have Nendou. Basically, he’s stupid. Not that you minded, but sometimes being stupid isn’t the best thing in the world, especially now.
It was the sports festival at PK and Saiki and you had to participate in it. You both were on the same team since all the teams were decided by class. This also gave you a good idea of the friends Saiki has made. It was safe to say that Kaido was growing on you. You felt a little bad for the guy, what can you say.
Let’s not forget about Hairo as well. You knew him a bit more from hearsay than the others, plus he was class rep. Though, you had to say, he was a little too overly enthusiastic.
It was kind of a surprise to see Teruhashi, the most popular girl in school, try and interact with Saiki. Though, it was a bit amusing since to him, she’s nothing more than walking muscle. However, you did think he would swoon over her like all the other guys in your school if she was like you. However, you knew Saiki had no interest in romance so you don’t care either way.
Finally, Nendou. You were originally going to say that you didn’t mind the guy that much and thought maybe he would be a good thing for Saiki. However, after just watching him take out one of the antennas from Saiki’s head, you started to wonder how much of a danger his stupidity is to Saiki.
You watched that pink haired friend of yours collapse to the ground with a hard thud as soon as Nendou pull the thing out of his head. You were quick to rush over to him and sit by his side. When you flipped him over, since he fell face forward, worry grew about your body and infected your bloodstream.
You heard protests about turning him over, but at this point all the worried voices drowned before they were even audible to you. His lips were parted as drool leaked from his mouth and went down his chin, his eyes dead and without life as darkness surrounded them. It didn’t take you long to recover and swipe the antenna Nendou was holding and pop it back in its rightful place in his pink locks.
You didn’t know how long it would take for him to wake up, or if he’d wake up at all. All you knew was to sit and wait for him to wake up. To your surprise, he woke up rather quickly. Maybe a mere minute or so after you fixed him up. When his eyes opened, you felt yourself suddenly get surrounded as Saiki’s friends crowed over him to ask how he was.
You noticed him using telepathy to talk to everyone when Hairo said, “You passed out after Nendou took that think out of your head, lucky for you, [Name] put it back right away!”
“Yeah, he saved your life!” Kaido spit out next, their hands placing on my shoulder out of respect and gratitude.
Saiki’s eye then direct to you, his voice never leaving his lips for a moment before you noticed him flinch.
‘Ah,’ you thought. ‘He tried to use telepathy with me again.’
When he noticed, Saiki just nodded in your direction. You knew he was thanking you, he didn’t need to word it out to you. The look in his eyes was enough.
Lunch came immediately after Saiki ended up waking up, and it was understatement to say he didn’t want to be bother with anyone else besides you. He was quick to drag you to the roof of the school to eat.
The both of you sat against the railing, lunch in your laps. You wanted I just forget about the scare that Saiki gave you, but the after effects he was having wasn’t making that easy. He was having trouble, and it was easy to see when his hands were shaking so much that he couldn’t even pick up his food without it falling back in the box.
You side eyed him, his expression one of concentration as he tried to pick up his food again. Though, he dropped it again.
He sighed quickly after that, only looking down at his food as you saw his mind wonder off.
Once you finished chewing whatever food you had in your mouth, you placed your food to the side and moved so that you weren’t side to side, but rather across from Saiki’s body now. He didn’t register your movements until he saw a hand come into his view and pick up an item of food with his chopsticks.
When he turned to you, you had the chopsticks in your dominant hand and your other under the food so it didn’t drop to the filthy ground.
“C’mon, lemme help,” you said. It was easy for Saiki to pick up the worry in your tone, however he knew not to address it or else you’ll just either deny it or baby him. “Open up.”
He obeyed your command after a moment, opening his mouth wide enough for you to place his food in his mouth. The hand that was meant to catch the food if it fell made sure Saiki closed his mouth, his fingers placed a bit of pressure under his chin to shut his jaws before slowly trailing away. The food wasn’t nearly as satisfying as the chill that ran down his spine at your lingering touch that crawled on his skin.
“I could hurt you.” He suddenly spit out. It was pained. “Having my antenna taken out messed up my powers.”
You leaned your head to the side, your eyes never falling from his. “Yeah, I kinda figured.”
“You should go.” He stated.
“Why?”
“I just told you.”
You smiled. “Saiki, you could never hurt me.”
He looked at you like you had something stuck in your teeth. “You don’t know that, I may not be able to read your mind, but I don’t know how my other powers react to you.”
You remained quiet for a moment before shuffling your body side by side again, your head falling to rest of Saiki’s shoulder. You felt him flinch at the contact, his muscles even began to tighten just out of fear.
“Yanno,” you started out saying, your hand coming up to play the antenna that you could reach. “It’s odd to me how these things are the only thing keeping you stable.”
“Is it?”
You chuckled and nodded. “Small things like these verses your powers. The thing that gets me is that these things actually win in that fight. Though, I suppose it does complete the look you have.”
“And what look is that?” Saiki asked as he gazed down at you to see your eyes already on him. He could feel his fingers twitch as he watched you say shamelessly, “The cute, mysterious loner type.”
Saiki’s lips parted as he gazed at you. He quickly recomposed himself when he noticed you waiting patiently for him to respond. He sighed before asking, “Mysterious loner? Where’d you get that?”
You laughed before sarcastically questioning, “yep, I wonder where.”
3. Your friends are my friends
You don’t know how you got wrapped into this, but perhaps it’ll allow you to know Saiki’s friends better.
Currently, you were walking with Kaido, Nendou, and Saiki to a good ramen shop Nendou suggested. You were dragged along when Nendou remembered you from the Sports Festival and as Saiki’s friend. They never really got the chance to speak to you since you’re usually out the door as soon as the bell rings, but today they finally caught you.
At some point Teruhashi joined the group, though you feel like she kinda took over since now the boys, except for Saiki and you, were fawning over her. Saiki and you took it upon yourselves to give them all room to talk to her, so you both sorts trailed behind.
It was silent for a while, the only noise was Nendou or Kaido talking to Teruhashi. However, you caught the, “what does that even mean,” that Saiki mumbled under his breath.
“Hm?” You hummed. “What does what mean?”
It was obvious to you he didn’t realize he said that aloud. But he just seemed to be glad that only you heard that.
“Teruhashi wants me to go ‘oh wow’ or something to her.” Saiki revealed. “I don’t even know what that means.”
You kept your gaze on Saiki for a moment. “So, she likes you?”
“I guess,” he muttered. “I think it’s more that I’m the only guy that isn’t kissing her feet.”
You watched Teruhashi interact with Nendou and Kaido. You know that, normally, she wouldn’t take time to hang out with these guys. However, because of her crush on Saiki, she bares with them. In all honesty, she seems a bit perfect. Being able to deal with them just for the person she adores. It’s easy for anyone to do, and not a lot of people would even bother.
“She seems like a good fit for you.” You suddenly uttered out.
When Saiki heard that, he felt his hands twitch. He didn’t like that, not one bit. What irked him the most was that it seemed natural, like you actually meant it. And, of course, he had no way of knowing if those words were genuine or actually forced.
“No way,” Saiki stated coldly. “Never in a million years.”
“Damn, that’s cold, Saiki.” He heard you say, a teasing tone wedged in your voice.
“Why do you keep calling me Saiki, anyway? We aren’t acquaintances.”
“Hm?” You questioned. “I thought you don’t like me calling you by your first name in public?”
Saiki sighed. “Well now I’m telling you I don’t care.”
Saiki knew this way of showing that you were closer to him than anyone would ever be may have been childish on his part, but when he heard his first name come from your lips in front of his other ‘friends’, he felt more than satisfied.
4. Friendship Can Bring Romance
Being able to rest during class was one of your guilty pleasures. Even if you got called out by your teacher, you didn’t mind. It was better when it was raining outside, the patter of rain when it hit the window made you want to nap.
“Hey,” a voice called out to you. You didn’t listen though, it wasn’t important.
“Hey, [Name],” it called out again. Okay, maybe you should wake up. Then again, sleep. You could always sleep later though.
You fluttered your eyes open as you felt your body being pushed around. When your sight became focused, the blurry figure in front of you showed a blue hair kid. You knew him, but from where?
“Saiki asked me to wake you up, sorry,” he confessed.
Oh, right. That’s Kaido, Saiki’s friend.
“Hm? Where is Kusuo?” You asked in a groggy voice, your hand coming up to wipe your eyes.
“Oh, he went home.” Kaido informed you. “Something just came up, I guess.”
“Alright,” you hummed before the end of your lips pulled upward. “Thank you, Kaido.”
It wasn’t easy for Kaido to wake up the quiet kid. Kaido only met the guy once or twice, and when he was hanging with him, you only stayed close to Saiki. It was kinda odd, but Kaido understood your attachment to the pink haired man. Saiki was Kaido’s first friend, after all, so he knew how awesome the guy was.
Though, he’s never got the chance to speak to you. He knows Saiki never really goes anywhere with you, and somehow you always end up by his side. He just always seemed to miss you when it came to getting the chance to introduce himself so Kaido was pretty glad when you came along the trip to that ramen place, even if it was a dumb and he got distracted by Teruhashi.
Kaido knew you were the closest person to Saiki. He’s pretty sure that not even Nendou is as close to Saiki as you are. And those two are best friends. Kaido didn’t know the extend of how long you two have been friends, but he does know from watching that Saiki has respect for you. So, it was critical that he makes a great impression with you so that he can become closer to Saiki and maybe you as well.
“S-Sure, no problem!” He stuttered, his bandaged hand retracting from your shoulder and holding them up in the air in a surrendered notion.
“Do you live around here at all? I’ll walk you home as a thank you.” You said as you stood from your seat and began to search for your bag.
“What? You don’t have to do that, really, it isn’t necessary!” Kaido spit out quickly, his words jumping all over the place.
“It’s really no trouble at all,” you stated as you put your bag over your shoulder. “C’mon, let’s get going before the rain gets worse.”
The rain eventually stopped when both teens got closer to your house. Kaido’s was further ahead, so he thought it would be better if he just walked you home instead so you didn’t have to walk more than you have to already.
“So, you’ve been friends with Saiki since he was little, huh?” Kaido asked as you explained why Saiki trusts you so much. “That’s pretty awesome! What was he like back then?”
“Pretty much the same.” You answered. “Though he did get more handsome throughout the years, and he used to be kinda sweet. Now, not so much.”
“I see, so you guys have been through it all together.” Kaido replied.
“Basically, though, he did start to worry me a bit since I was his only friend for a really long time,” you confessed. You paused as you looked up at Kaido and gave him a smile, “But I’m glad he finally made a friend like you.”
Kaido could feel his heart beat a million miles an hour just at the words you strung together. He never heard kinder words than those, and he was even more thrilled that he succeeded in making a good impression on Saiki’s childhood friend!
“It’s, uh, n-no problem, really!” Kaido muttered out as his whole face began to fluster, his hands going everywhere.
“Oh,” you hummed out.
“Hm? Kaido questioned. His nerves going down. “What is it?”
“Did you know you were dragging your scarf the whole time?” You asked curiosity as your hands started to real in the extra fabric.
“What?” He asked out of pure shock. Though, realizing that he doesn’t make a fool out of himself he said, “O-Of course I did! It’s a fashion choice.”
“Not the best one,” you stated as you stepped closer to the blue haired male.
Kaido’s eyes widened as he stated directly into your colored orbs, watching them dance solely for him. It was like getting attention from a loved one, but this attention make him nervous to the point where he thought his face was going to explode with red. Kaido’s lips slowly started to disappear as the scarf started to build up around his shoulders and neck.
“There you go,” you said, “much better. Now your scarf doesn’t get more dirty and you look even better.”
‘Even better? What’s that supposed to mean? Does it.. does it mean he thought I looked good before?!’ Kaido thought.
Kaido let out an awkward laugh as he played with the end of the scarf. “O-Oh, haha, thank you.”
“Sure,” you hummed. “Now let’s get going.”
5. Blessing Turned On Jealousy
What’s that saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Yeah, that’s it. See, that could apply to this yet at the same time it would go a little different.
More like, the enemy of my best friend is my friend. At least for your situation. You see, walking home with Saiki has now turned into walking home with Saiki, Nendou, and Kaido. Not that you mind, but sometimes you really do wish it was back to when Saiki and you got to spend time alone together. However, being friends with Saiki and then having his friends automatically become your friends may have some perks.
Like now. Bumping into Kaido’s mom was totally accidental. But, in the end it payed off. Why?
Because coffee jelly.
“I know it’s not easy being friends with my son because he’s so shy, but please be patient.” Kaido’s mom announced as she placed the coffee jelly down in front of Saiki and you.
“Please don’t say that mama—I mean—mother.” Kaido pleased, his voice cracking as it got higher with embarrassment.
Overall, the beginning was a very nice. Hell, it was damn near perfect. Although, you just had to snoop around. Well, it was more like exploring Kaido’s room.
Your fingertips brushed along the spines of the many books Kaido had stacked up in his bookcase. It was seriously amazing how many books he had, he even had some original copies of some famous old books.
“This is pretty awesome,” you muttered to yourself before your eyes spotted something that didn’t quite match with the others. In all honesty, you were simply curious. However, curiosity did kill the cat. In your case, more like awakened the Saiki K.
“Hey, Kaido, what is the Jet Black Wings?” You asked aloud as the group sat down eating whatever snacks were about. You would always hear either chewing or at least some conversation, but after that question left your mouth it was dead silent. You felt like you killed something, but when you looked over you noticed Kaido’s face beat red. Seriously, his entire face was as red as a blood moon.
“P-Put that back!” He stuttered out, the blue haired boy suddenly running up to you to snatch the book from your hand.
As he reached for it, you held it higher. Even if he was about the same height or maybe a inch or so taller, you just needed to make him miss his hand from grabbing it.
“Don’t be embarrassed, I’m just curious.” You calmly said. “Is it bad or something?”
“N-No! It’s nothing, uh, bad! Just give me it back!” Kaido begged this time around, his hands trying desperately to grab it from you. Okay, maybe you were being a little mean at this point, but it was kinda fun to tease him.
You began to back up as Kaido trying to nab the book in your hand. “Just explain it!”
“No! Never!” He shouted.
You couldn’t help but laugh a little, though, that was your fatal mistake. Having yourself distracted by your own humor, your mind didn’t take into account the pile of prep books scattered about until it was too late. You quickly lost your voice, as well as your balance before slamming your head hard against the wood floors.
“Woah! You guys okay?” Nendou asked out of genuine concern.
As much as you would have liked to answer him, you were too concerned with the pain pounding into your skull like a jackhammer. Seriously, this is gonna give you one massive headache.
You scrunched your nose as your finally gave effort to open your eyes, though, they permanently remained open when you noticed a face staring down at you, a body on top of yours. You guessed that during the fall Kaido tried to save you, but only got dragged along instead.
“H-Hey, um, are you okay?” He asked under his shaky breath.
You only nodded before trying to avoid his gaze in any possible way. The position you were in didn’t help whatsoever in that department. Instead, you hoped that Kaido would take the hint and get off. That plan wasn’t looking too good cause all that was running through his mind was how you looked under him. Let’s say, the thoughts he had left a distaste in Saiki’s mouth.
Originally, he was just gonna let you handle it, but after hearing Kaido’s perverted thoughts about you, that plan blew up.
Saiki stood up, leaving his coffee jelly half eaten before grabbing Kaido by the back of his shirt and yanking him off of you. Saiki gave some strength into that but not enough to launch him into the bookshelf like he wanted too. He knelt down to come to your level and help you up, your massive headache being noticeable when you held onto the back of your head.
“Damnit, that really hurt,” you muttered to yourself but Saiki heard it clear as day.
It wasn’t long after that he took you home as well as the left over coffee jelly. Saiki advised you to stay home a day just to let the pain die down a bit before going back to school, so, the pink haired boy was all alone today. And all alone to everyone else meant to bother him more than usual.
Teruhashi, Nendou, Hairo. All of them. Though, it was a bit weird that Kaido wasn’t bothering with him today. Not that he was complaining, but he couldn’t pinpoint the answer until he heard Kaido’s thoughts, ‘I need to ask Saiki for permission. They’re best friends, it would be rude if I didn’t ask permission to ask out [Name].’
Never mind. He didn’t need to know that.
It was around lunch time that Kaido walked up to Saiki for the first one, the blush that littered his cheeks made Saiki want to gag for a moment.
“So, uh, Saiki, I have to ask you something.” Kaido uttered out lowly. Clearly, this was nerve wracking for him.
“What is it?” Saiki asked telepathically.
“Well, it’s about [Name], yanno, our [Name]?”
‘What other person has that name?’ Saiki thought. ‘And don’t say our, it’s creepy.’
“You see, I, well, I think I like him and I’d like your blessing to ask him out!” Kaido shouted, his body bowing at an almost 90 degree angle.
Normally, Saiki would just say to do whatever since he could read [Name]’s thoughts and see that he doesn’t like Kaido in that way. However, the one person in the world that Saiki actually wants is immune to his powers. He knew he needed to shut this down fast.
‘No way.’ Saiki responded.
“Thank you so much, Saiki, you won’t—wait—why not?” Kaido asked aloud, his voice getting higher the more he freaked out. He thought this would be easy, he means, it was Saiki. The most chill guy ever actually gave him a hard ‘no’ to asking out his best friend. Kaido shouldn’t be surprised, even though he is.
‘Because I said so,’ Saiki strictly put. He knew it was wrong to say this, who was he to say no to something that isn’t his business. Though, the feeling of relief that he still had a chance was more satisfying in the end.
By the time Saiki got to your house it was basically as soon as school ended. He used teleportation to get here as fast as he could, as well as just appear in your room. He wasn’t expecting you to still be asleep, though, he supposed this wasn’t too bad.
The pink haired male carefully walking up to the bedside of his best friend. It was odd to see your hair going in one direction instead of all over the place like normal, and don’t even get him started on the soft snores that came from your nose. Snoring isn’t usually the most attractive thing in the world, but this light snores from you made him think of the habit as cute.
Now, he would normally wake you up. But, just allowing himself to look at you for a moment longer without any consequences never hurt anybody. Saiki sat himself down on your floor, his eyes keeping to your closed ones as they slowly began to travel down to your lips. He doesn’t know what came over him, but it seriously began to freak him out when he started think about Kaido touching his lips with yours. After the freak out, jealousy was spiraling around in the psychic. He never knew that Kaido, of all people, would actually develop romantic feelings for you. If he did, he would have never allowed the both of you to interact the way you did at his house the other day.
Saiki let out a sigh before standing up once more, his hand came up to your shoulder slowly and began to shake it. It wasn’t long after that your eyes fluttered open and gave him that soft smile that caused his heart to skip a beat.
6. School Trip
The school trip was always the most looked forward to activity in high school. This year it was a three day trip to Okinawa. While you were excited to spend some time at a gorgeous place like Okinawa, Saiki was definitely less excited.
As kids talked with their friends in a group or just at their desks, you were currently sitting on top of Saiki’s desk with the pink haired boy sitting in the chair. This wasn’t something you always do, especially since at times Saiki has pushed you off out of retaliation, but after a moment or two of still being there, you knew he didn’t mind today.
“You excited?” You asked him.
“No. I don’t get the appeal.” He spit out, his eyes closing as he moved his head down. “I could get to Okinawa in three minutes.”
“Kusuo, not everyone is like you.” You explained. “So don’t go getting moody on this trip, I’m not letting you ruin it for me.”
“I won’t, I’m just saying a fact.” He replied.
You were about to continue with things you’re excited to do during the trip before Hairo came around to the both of you with a clip board in hand. He was responsible for dividing rooms.
“Saiki, [Name], did you guys decide on your group for the class trip?” He asked politely. “You should have three boys and three girls in your group.”
Saiki didn’t say anything, instead he just rested his head against your forearm. Perhaps he wanted Hairo to think he fell asleep and leave it to you, or maybe he was actually saying that he didn’t care as long as he was with you. Either way, you smiled at the contact and said to Hairo, “Kusuo and I will be rooming, it doesn’t matter who else is in our group.”
“Okay, great!” Hairo exclaimed as he wrote it down. “Kaido and Nendou are still available so I’ll just place Kaido with your group, and then randomly place you guys with a girls group.”
“Thanks, Hairo,” you hummed out as he walked away to probably inform Kaido about the rooming.
You never minded contact with Saiki, in fact, you sort of enjoyed it. However, seeing him still like this, even with Hario now gone, you worried.
“Hey, Kusuo,” you called out.
No answer.
“Kusuo?” You asked this time. And when he didn’t answer again you unconsciously moved your hand up to his head and moved it back to where you could look him in the eyes. Saiki’s face was still without expression, though, those eyes worried you. He seemed, almost, upset.
“Kusuo?” You asked. “What’s wrong?”
He shook his head, signaling that nothing was wrong. You knew he was lying.
You tilted your head, some of your hair moving with gravity to expose part of your forehead. “Why are you lying to me?”
“I’m not.” He said, his voice was steady and yet, that look in his eyes still bothered you.
You knew he wasn’t going to budge but still, just because you’re going to let it go now doesn’t mean that you weren’t about to keep an eye on him.
Throughout the beginning and the first day of the trip, you kept an eye on Saiki. He seemed way more tired than usual, but that didn’t startle you. Instead, it was how he was by your side more often now when Kaido was around. You weren’t an idiot, it was pretty obvious. You didn’t mind Saiki’s attention, but you didn’t want him to think just because you were friends with Kaido that he’d be put second.
“Kusuo, can we talk?” You asked him as the two of you had the room to yourselves. The others were out and about, but the two of you decided on an early night.
“About what?” He asked as he set up his sleeping area.
“Today.” You started out. “You’ve been acting weird around Kaido. Did something happen?”
You watched Saiki carefully, so carefully that you noticed his fingers lightly curl around the blanket. You didn’t want to push him, so instead of pushing him to speak, you allowed yourself to be silent and let him take his time. You don’t remember how many minutes pasted, but you swear it felt like decades.
“Nothing happened.” He informed you. “His thoughts just aren’t for my taste at the moment.”
“His thoughts?” You questioned as you slowly approached Saiki on his blanket until you were right in front of him. “Okay, then, what’s got you all bothered? Let me guess, he’s thinking dirty things, right?”
“Sort of.” He replied.
“I bet it’s about Teruhashi,” you theorized. “Is that why you don’t like it?”
“No, it’s not about Teruhashi.”
“Really? Then who?”
Saiki went quiet once more.
You sighed. Your head moving down to get a glimpse at his face. It wasn’t until you moved your hand over by his, your finger tips brushing with his accidentally to get more stability as you leaned in did you hear him finally confess.
“It was about you.”
To say that you needed a minute to take that in was an understatement. Kaido was a good guy and all, but it was kinda startling to realize he liked guys, as well as girls, since you didn’t suspect that even for a minute with him.
“Seriously?” You asked once more.
Saiki nodded. “He asked me if he could ask you out.”
“And what did you say?”
“No.”
You couldn’t help a smile crawl upon your face with that one. You knew it was a bit hard to read Saiki, especially when it came to you, but you were just beyond happy to hear that.
“Good,” you suddenly shot out. Saiki’s head moving back up in an instant to see your happy features. “I don’t like Kaido like that anyway, saves me from breaking his heart.”
“You don’t?”
“Nope.” You hummed out. You knew this may backfire on you in more ways than one, but right now, you didn’t care. The happiness you felt told you to take a chance and throw out the bait. “I know you can’t read my mind, but I actually do have someone I like.”
Saiki aimlessly stared at you for a moment and took in the words you confessed to him. It was an odd feeling, the rapid beating of his heart, but perhaps this was finally the start of things going his way for once.
On the second day of the trip, everyone went to Emerald Beach. It was one of the many places were people could stare at others and no one would think anything of it. A perverts dream. Though, for Saiki, he just wanted to hang out with you.
“Where’s [Name]?” Kaido asked Nendou as Saiki stood behind the two.
“He said he had to go buy a swimsuit. The one he brought apparently went missing.” Nendou told the blue haired boy.
Now, that want a mistake. Sure, it may have been a dirty trick but Saiki rather die than see you in the swimsuit you brought. After all, you bought a shirt with it. He knew you didn’t take off your shirt often, even at the beach, but he was determined to see you with just a pair of shorts.
Much like how all the guys that crowded around the girls changing house waited patiently to see Teruhashi in a two piece swim suit.
It was a while after Teruhashi came out, and when everyone was in the water that you made your appearance. You had your hands wedged into your swim shirt pockets as you allowed your feet to take in the hot sand that felt magical between your toes. You gazed around for a moment before noticing pink hair sitting under an umbrella.
A devilish smirk crawled on your features as you began to slowly approach the male. This may give Saiki a heart attack, but it was worth it. As you stood over him from behind, you attacked. Your body shot down as your arms wrapped aruund his neck and pushed your chest into his bare back.
“Hey, what’s a cute guy like you doing all alone at a place like this?” You teased, allowing your voice to go on for some time so that he realized it was just you.
Saiki immediately flinched at the contact before noticing it was just you. However, when he noticed the touch of your skin against his, he could feel his entire body heat up. The sensation was new, he’s felt his face go hot before, but his entire body was a new one.
“What took you so long?” Saiki tried to play off.
You just sighed and got a tighter grip on the male, your chest pushing more into his back. “Someone stole my swimsuit. Sadly, I didn’t have enough money to replace the whole thing, so I had to go by some swim shorts.”
“Hm, as least you’re here.” Saiki stated, making sure not to comment on the ‘stolen swimsuit’.
“Yeah,” you uttered as you released Saiki from your grasp and sat down next to him. You gazed out at the beautiful ocean that was filled with laughing people with this loving look in your eyes, all the while not realizing Saiki’s held that same gaze as he stared at you.
When you did turn to him, he completely lost himself in his mind as his eyes wondered about your figure. You weren’t the most fit guy in the world, but you did have these subtle yet enchanting muscle lines along your upper body that made Saiki lose himself.
“I saw that.” You suddenly said. Saiki’s eyes now darting back to yours. “You just checked me out.”
Saiki saw no way out of this one. So, he just confessed it. “So what if I was?”
In all honesty, he just expected you to laugh and tell him that it’s only fair if he does the same. However, the twist was unexpected and, well, definitely appreciated. He watched as you gazed down, this bashful look in your eyes as you did everything to avoid his gaze. Your body language wasn’t helping either. Your fingers were tapping against the towel and the heel of your foot was moving back and forth.
Maybe this trip wasn’t totally for nothing.
7. All That Was A Secret
Spring break. It was one of those weeks that Saiki went to go visit his grandparents all the way in the middle fo nowhere. So, for the most of this break, you were home alone.
It was kind of boring. This break was definitely not one that you looked forward to, more now then before, especially after the beach during the class trip. Those words always ended up repeating in your mind, way too much then you thought they would. Then again, you shouldn’t be surprised. All those days that you’d try to subtly touch him, tease him, it was just a way to relieve yourself of the pent up emotions you’ve had for him for a few years now.
Currently, you were in your room upon your bed, hugging one of your pillows close to your chest. You never tried to dwell on if Saiki felt the same or not, but recently, it’s been clawing at you more and more. It wasn’t like you didn’t think you had a chance, but more if Saiki was more comfortable just staying friends. You would understand, even if it would hurt, you’d do it for him. You’d do anything for that guy.
You sighed before slowly lifting your body off the bed. Today wasn’t a good day for being sad, it was summer break, after all. You knew you had to get your mind off Saiki, and him being away made it a bit easier. So, you grabbed some clothes from your closet and laid them on the bed. You weren’t sure what you were going to do, but you were determined to fine something to take your mind off him.
You let your pants drop to the ground before taking the ones on your bed and letting your legs slip through each of the pant legs. Next, you stripped your shirt off and took in a deep breath. You paused for a moment before dropping the dirty shirt on the ground and grabbing the new one. In all honestly, you never really pay attention to your surroundings when changing. But, does anyone? It wasn’t until your head went through the hole on the top of the shirt did you realize that the bed in front of you was now missing and the wall you were staring at was not the wall of your bed room. When you turned your head, you locked eyes with Saiki in an unfamiliar room.
“Huh?” You uttered under your breath before your eyes widened, your face felling hotter than usual before frantically pulling your shirt all the way down. Once down, you opened your mouth and said, “You can’t do that without me knowing! What if I was in the middle of a shower or something and not just changing?”
“I would have given you some of my clothes.” He replied nonchalantly.
You bit the inside of your cheek before crossing your arms over your chest. “Why did you teleport me anyway?”
“I can’t stand it here.” Saiki confessed. Of course, you knew he didn’t exactly enjoying visiting his grandparents but he has never done this before. “Just hang out with me. I’ll send you back after.”
You sighed. You can’t exactly say no after that, so, with that Saiki and you began to watch a movie. It wasn’t one you two watched before so it was easy to get lost in it. Though, it was also easy to focus on Saiki when he suddenly placed his hand on top of yours as you guys watched. You weren’t too sure if he thought you wouldn’t notice, but there was no way you were going to pull away. After all, it’s not like he placed his fingers between yours, if he did that, you don’t know if you could handle it.
After a half an hour into the movie you finally got the plot of it, and you weren’t amused at all. It was a best friends to lovers troupe. More specifically, childhood friends that drifted apart only to be brought back together by work and now slowly are developing feelings for one another. Let’s just say now, you were a little more than nervous.
Thank god Saiki couldn’t read your mind, because now, you feel like you’d give him a headache. You couldn’t help but ask yourself if he knows and is only doing this to taunt you, or maybe this was all just a big coincident. Yeah, one massive coincident. In reality though, Saiki was just teasing you. He had no idea of your feelings but he wanted to watch the movie with you to implant the idea in his mind of the possibility.
Well, his plan was working. Maybe a little too much. Though, as you were about to spit something out, your eyes suddenly shot down to the floor in embarrassment. Yep, a make out scene. Of course, Saiki had no idea about that, but it was better than just the sappy stuff cause now it was really ingrained in your head.
Once it was over and you had somewhat of your cool back you couldn’t help it. You needed to ask. If it blew up in flames, then so be it.
“Hey, Saiki,” you uttered out lowly. Saiki caught it immediately and turned his gaze on you. “I have a.. question.”
“What?” He asked.
“Well,” your voice trailed off as you moved your eyes down to where both of your hands connected. “We’ve been best friends for a long time now but, have you ever, um, thought about doing...that?
Saiki remained quiet for a moment, his thoughts going everywhere before thinking to himself, ‘All the time, actually.’
As much as he wish he could have said that telepathically, he could never try to say that vocally. So, he just opted for a nod and watched your body flinch. The hand he touched growing warm.
“You’re hot.” Saiki suddenly spit out. This time, you brought your hand back to your body so he couldn’t tell anymore.
“S-So what?” You stuttered out.
To say that Saiki didn’t like this side of you was an understatement. He’s never never seen you so flustered before, and it was really adorable to look at.
“It’s cute.” Saiki commented, his body leaning in just to see your face closer.
You turned your head to the side, eyes darting to the tv just to look away for a moment to compose yourself. You knew that there wasn’t gonna be another perfect moment like this so, you slowly reached over to place your hand on the back of Saiki’s neck. It was warm. When he noticed what you wanted as you started to lean back and gently pull him with you, he complied quickly until he gazed at you from above. Suddenly, he was jealous at the fact that Kaido got to see this view before him.
He stared at you for a moment before watching you bite down on your bottom lip, his mind doing backflips at the want to read your mind, but also at how good you looked under him.
“Kiss me.” You whispered under your breath, just loud enough for him to hear.
“If I do,” Saiki uttered lowly. “I might not be able to stop.”
“That’s okay.”

The Maid Café || Saiki K x Reader
summary: nendou and kaidou keep pestering saiki to visit their favourite maid café but he shuts them down every time. however, after a bit of prying they manage to convince him to give the place a try and while they are there, you just so happen to be on shift.
tw// cussing, maid café, (she/her) reader
key:
“non italicised text” = somebody besides Saiki speaking
“italicised text” = Saiki telepathically communicating
‘italised text’ = Saiki’s thought
‘Of course Nendou and Kaidou would be into maid cafés of all things — not cat cafés, not internet cafés — it just had to be maid cafés.’
Saiki’s internal monologue began as Kaidou continued gushing on about the cute lady he met at the café a few days ago as an argument to why Saiki should join them next time they go. Not to say Saiki wasn’t listening as he felt extremely sorry for whatever lady had to tolerate Kaidou’s advances and his prayer went out to her but besides that, he really couldn’t care less about the maids or the café.
Until, his attention was involuntarily aroused at the vocalisation of his name from Nendou, “Saiki’s definitely in for Friday, I’m pretty sure I sold him when I told him that the sandwiches there are almost as good as the ramen we usually get.”
‘No, you didn’t. I won’t be coming to join you on Friday. I’d much rather stay--’
Somehow Kaidou managed to cut off Saiki’s internal monologue with his annoying voice, “Don’t be silly, Nendou. You’re not going to win Saiki over with such a ridiculous comparison, one that he clearly doesn’t care about.”
‘Am I delusional? Is this a hallucination? Or did Kaidou just say something logical and based in reality?’
Kaidou’s aura immediately changed to dark and sinister as a mischievous smirk crossed his face, the background squawks of the crows suddenly became much louder for some unknown reason. “Instead, you must locate your opponent's weak point before you can recognise the crucially important moment to exploit it. The process takes patience but it is one I have learned from my many years rebelling against Dark Reunion. Now, young Nendou, watch and learn.” He finished with a dramatic flip of his school jacket which was slung over his shoulders as a cape.
‘What was all that about?’
Saiki wondered before Kaidou turned to him, much less brooding than he was a few seconds ago, and said casually, “Your loss if you don’t come, Saiki — you’ll be the one missing out on some of the best desserts in our whole town — not to mention the coffee jelly.”
✿✿✿✿✿
‘How do I always end up losing to these people? I am a psychic for god’s sake!’
Saiki mentally cursed himself out as he stood shamefully in front of the maid café, wearing a carefully curated outfit — including his germanium ring — created especially to hide his identity from anyone from his school that might pass by the café and spot him in there through the window or something. Honestly, he wouldn’t be caught dead in a maid café, or so he thought.
However, all the reviews he read along with both Nendou and Kaidou’s thoughts helped him conclude that this place’s coffee jelly and general dessert selection is nothing to sneeze at. In fact, his favourite Tumblr blog - DeadlyDesserts11037 - visited the place and gave it a 5 star review, recommending everybody who happens to pass by the town to definitely check the place out. After that, he was sold.
Saiki looked over at his friends and couldn’t help but facepalm in response to their bright red, thrilled expressions. “Good grief, please don’t tell me you are both that excited over ladies in maid outfits.” As you might’ve guessed, Saiki didn’t really understand the concept of a ‘maid café’, so he simply assumed the male obsession with maids had something to do with the objectification of women hence he obviously did not want to take part.
“Saiki, you’re seriously just built different if this doesn’t touch your soul.” They both brushed the pink-haired boy’s comment off, completely mesmerised by the sight of a particularly pretty maid-lady walking by the window — probably on her way to serve a table — carrying a notepad in one hand and a plate with a scrumptious-looking coffee jelly on top.
Saiki followed their gaze, his breath hitching at the sight. He was speechless; no sarcastic comment, no running commentary, nothing. Just..woah! If he had known that the girls that work at this place were so gorgeous and the food looked so delicious, he would’ve came a long time ago.
He wasn’t even sure which one he wanted more; the girl or the jelly. In a way, one wasn’t complete without the other because the coffee jelly which she held high next to her head brought out her (E/C) eyes while her shapely figure highlighted the defined curves of the jelly. Drool was quick to start forming at the corners of his lips but he was even quicker to wipe it away; he was starving.
“We’re going in.”
✿✿✿✿✿
To Saiki’s dismay, it was not the stunning (H/C)-haired girl who he had caught a glimpse of through the glass that ushered them to their table. Rather, it was a slightly less gorgeous maid-lady who had long, bright purple hair which was clearly a wig.
Fortunately for him, after she left Kadiou, Nendou and himself to take their seats, she rushed off saying that someone will come take their orders whenever they are ready.
Even with his psychic abilities, there wasn’t much he could think of to alter fate so the pretty coffee-jelly lady would end up serving their table, and besides that, he was way too caught up in gawking at all the mouth-watering desserts they had pictured on the menu.
Simply glancing over the menu brought a stupid grin to his face, he wanted to try every delectable treat presented in front of him. However, he knew he must exhibit restraint, which was fairly simple as he knew deep down there was only one thing on the menu that he was truly after. You guessed it — coffee jelly.
Usually, he couldn’t care less about what his friends comrades were going to order but in this case, he was tempted to try convince both Kaidou and Nendou to order something he liked so he could take a bite of whatever they were having, “What are you two going to order?”
Yet again though, he was ignored as Nendou and Kaidou were both too busy checking out other types of snacks to care about the ones on the menu.
Then, a movement out of the corner of his eyes caught his attention so his head jolted from the menu to his new target, the beautiful girl he had saw through the window earlier. Previously, she was holding a coffee jelly but now she was basically empty handed, until she approached the table and pulled out a notepad and pen, “May I take your orders?” She asked in the most calming, melodious voice Saiki had ever heard, the sounds that left her mouth were nothing short of angelic. Which made sense since her serving their table must’ve been god’s gift to Saiki for all his hard work.
Chills, Saiki got literal chills before he mused, “A coffee jelly, and two brownies for the pair of clowns.” His blood ran cold; curse his smooth sarcastic comments! Most of the time, he was able to filter himself but due to the nerves that arose while talking to you, he probably shouldn’t be surprised that he had a little slip of the tongue. But now, you probably think he is a bitch that insults people on the regular; which he is, but not usually aloud! Plus, he couldn’t even tell what you were thinking due to his germanium ring and your distant expression, awful combo!
While he was in the middle of feeling bad for himself and considering teleporting away home, a miracle happened, you burst out laughing. And somehow, your laughter was even more silvery than your voice.
Saiki had zoned-out from pure shock for a moment before coming back to reality, noticing that you had started jotting down something in your notepad, a sweet smile still lingering on your face despite the fact you had stopped laughing. “Alright, so one coffee jelly and two brownies. Anything else?” You asked, glancing back and forth between the three equally unique and strange men sitting at the table.
“That’ll be all, thank you.” Saiki telepathically communicated as he usually did, considering actually using his mouth to speak for a change so he didn’t seem weird but in all honesty, he couldn’t be bothered. In any other situation, he would’ve gotten a drink of water or perhaps hot cocoa but right now he was way too afraid of making another error in his speech to request something else.
Silently, he extended his arm to hand you the menu he was given when he entered the café, along with the ones Kaidou and Nendou were given too. His actions single-handedly shooting down your plan of leaning across the table to ‘take the menus’ but in reality it is just a subtle way of showing-off how nice your torso looked in this maid outfit, a trick you learned from your supervisor.
You nodded, closing over your notepad and making your way over to the kitchen, being sure to swing your hips just a little bit extra to impress the pink-haired megane at the table you just took an order from. You mentally cursed your stupid brain though for always crushing on guys/gals who don’t seem the least bit interested in you. In this case, the guy’s attention was divided between his star-struck friends and the desserts on the menu, rather than you which was an unusual sight in a maid café considering that most people would only come to ogle at the waitresses.
✿✿✿✿✿
“So, Saiki.” Kaidou finally landed back into reality after a large chunk of the waitresses roaming around were now in the kitchen which he didn’t have viewing access to, “What did you order us?”
‘So, he was fully aware that the waitress came to take his order, he just chose to ignore her and left me to order his food. What a child, it must be a side-effect of his eighth grade syndrome.’
Saiki couldn’t help but sigh, “I ordered you both brownies.”
Kaidou stuck out his bottom lip to form a pout as he crossed his arm over his chest like a toddler, “I hate brownies.” He muttered to himself, realising that if he wanted something done right, he’d have to do it himself.
An amused smirk tugged at Saiki’s lips but he resisted the urge to laugh, ‘I know.’ He thought, his masterplan to eat more food without looking greedy falling into place. “Oh well, more for me then.”
Suddenly, Nendou spun his head around to abruptly join the conversation, “Hey guys, did you see the hottie that was serving our table?” He inquired with starry eyes, as if he was a kid in a candy store.
Saiki nodded, ‘Obviously I did, you moron. I was the one who ordered the food for goodness’ sake!’
Kaidou shook his head, his eyes lighting up as he leaned in close to Nendou, “Nope! I was busy looking at the other girls, but tell us!”
Nendou chuckled at Kaidou’s enthusiastic reaction before glancing to the side, outstretching his arm and pointing at the waitress that was now approaching the table with the food in her hands. “There she is!”
‘Don’t point at her, you idiot!’ Saiki mentally insulted his friend but instinctively followed the guidance of the tip of his finger until his eyes landed on your shapely figure — accentuated by the nature of the maid outfit — slowly heading toward his table, holding the coffee jelly and the plate of brownies in the same graceful way you did when he saw you through the window.
The gleam of your gorgeous hair, the movement of your luscious lashes, the gentle bounce of your upper body, how your perfectly manicured nails clutched the base of the jelly glass; everything about what he was seeing made him believe that if/when he were to die, this would be his ideal first sight as he passed through the gates of heaven.
Before he knew it, you had reached the table and placed his jelly down on the table, gently nudging it towards him, “One coffee jelly for the cute boy with antennas.” You mused, making Saiki’s heart flutter in a way he was unfamiliar with. Then, you placed the brownies in front of Kaidou and Nednou who sat opposite from Saiki, “And two brownies for the clowns.”
If it wasn’t for the fact the pair of clowns were too busy leching over you in your maid outfit, they’d probably be curious as to your choice of words but luckily for both you and Saiki, they were way to entranced by your visible bra strap to care about the little nickname.
Saiki felt a light blush creep onto his face, which only got worse as you discretely sent him a playful wink before turning on your heels to stroll back to the kitchen, “If you need anything else, just give me a wave.”
All of them hummed agreement in unison until the waitress was out of sight, giving Saiki a moment to process the events that had just went down. Not only did you refer to him as ‘the cute boy with antennas’ but you also winked at him, if that wasn’t a clear sign you were interested, what was? However, Saiki still had his doubts since this was a maid café after all, perhaps you were just trained to do that with all your customers.
Luckily, the had the foresight to slip off his germanium ring to read your mind and that helped him come to the conclusion that you were either interested in him or you were just very competitive as the whole time you were serving the table your thoughts were along the lines of;
‘I’ll adjust my skirt- Ha! You looked! Try resist falling for me now, you hot lil’ megane! Your heart is mine and I know it! See, I’ll fidget with my corset too-- just make a move already, pinkie!’
Although he didn’t appreciate being called ‘pinkie’, he had no right to judge what was going on in your brain. All he could do is be thankful that you didn’t say that aloud.
✿✿✿✿✿
You sighed as you noticed the pink-haired boy and his little posy exit the establishment without so much as a goodbye, or even a wave!
It was disappointing as you had already mentally planned your future with this guy and he had the audacity to do the real life equivalent of leaving you on read. But oh well, it would be approximately a week until you developed a crush on a random customer that lasts for around 30 minutes and for the time being, you can focus on doing your job.
You glumly shuffled over to their table to gather their plates to be washed, then a piece of colourful paper attached to the empty jelly glass caught your eye. As you held up the glass to inspect it further, you realised that it was a sticky note with a message written on it in black ink and neat, cursive handwriting. It read:
‘Dearest waitress,
Thank you for the excellent service, we (myself) tipped accordingly.’
You hadn’t finished reading yet but you were curious as to what he meant by that, and apparently you service must’ve been exceptional as the writer had left a whole ¥2000 tip. That’s a huge addition to the demonia fund.
Followed by this charming little message was an extra tip for you; the writer’s phone number! Meaning that this little sticky note was something you had to protect with your life..so you shoved it in your bra for safe-keeping.
But not before taking a moment to giggle with delight at who the note was signed by,
‘Sincerely, the hot lil’ megane (aka Kusuo Saiki)’

Unchanging
Synopsis: He was content with the simplicities life had to offer, while you sought out the world.
Pairing: Saiki Kusuo x artist!reader
Genre: Fluff, Slight Angst
Word Count: 3.6k
You first heard of him back in your second year of high school. There was nothing about Saiki Kusuo that stood out to you, but your good friend, Yumehara Chiyo, thought otherwise.
“Don’t you think Saiki looks like a prince? He’s so dreamy that I can’t keep my eyes off of him. He’s so cool and mysterious,” your friend blabbered. If by cool and mysterious, she meant cold and aloof, then you completely agreed.
Even the popular pretty girl, Teruhashi Kokomi, seemed enraptured by him, despite Saiki’s unwillingness to shower her any attention like every guy in school. She never told you about her crush on him, but it was obvious through her body language alone that she was smitten by the pink-haired boy.
You didn’t understand their fleeting infatuation for someone they hardly knew - never experienced the feeling of falling hard for someone from the depths of your soul that they were the only person you could think about. And you were perfectly content with that. You had bigger dreams to achieve than a small high school romance that wasn’t guaranteed to last long anyway.
The Okinawa school trip was an outing that all the second years in PK Academy were looking forward to, you included. Although you had a feeling that your friends, Chiyo and Kokomi, had different intentions for tagging along.
They must have been so elated that the three of you ended up in the same group with the boy they liked.
You carried on disregarding Kokomi and Chiyo’s painfully obvious antics to spend time with their beloved prince charming until later that evening when you decided to take a walk outside the hotel alone. You convinced yourself that a late-night stroll would be an enjoyable pastime, but really, you wanted to get away from the love-struck fantasies of your two friends who were oblivious of the fact that they were both pursuing the same boy.
You don’t know how long you’ve been wandering around, but by the time you returned, the hotel had disappeared from your sight. Two recognizable figures stood by a large hole torn on the ground. A battered ship had risen from the gap where the building used to be.
Toritsuka Reita from Class 2-2 stood next to your pink-haired group member while Saiki had a hand directed at the ship, indicating that he was the one causing it to float midair. Your jaw dropped in disbelief at the sight before you.
Saiki turned his head in your direction as if he knew you were there all along. He kept his usual blank composure, although you could recognize the wary look in his eyes as he stared at you. Toritsuka panicked upon the realization that you were there to witness the whole scene.
You didn’t know how you should've reacted when the two boys told you of their psychic powers.
“I won’t tell a soul,” you promised.
‘I know,’ Saiki’s voice echoed into your mind.
The rest of the trip went by smoothly after that incident. Kokomi subsequently spoke out about the crush she had on Saiki, and Chiyo announced that she had fallen for Kaidou Shun.
You shook your head in wonder at the orange-haired girl. It was astonishing how quickly she was able to abandon her feelings for one boy and move on to someone else so quickly.
You realized that love was brief and ever-changing like the ticking seconds on a clock. There was no point in wasting time on such a fickle emotion when the only thing you would devote yourself to were your ambitions for the future.
Nevertheless, a subconscious bond had been formed between you and Saiki after you learned his secret.
You shared a glance with the psychic from afar as Kokomi relayed to you the dream she had of the boy she liked.
He was kinder and a lot less indifferent than you originally thought. Saiki wouldn’t admit it, but you would notice the subtle acts he performed to help out a troubled stranger and the small deeds he initiated to prevent harm from coming across the people around him.
You finally acknowledged Saiki as a friend after he deliberately shared his umbrella with you during a particularly rainy day.
‘Good grief. I was feeling generous today, so this is nothing. Just make sure to come to school prepared next time,’ he had told you after you first rejected his help in worry of troubling him.
You found out much later that he could have stopped the rain with his abilities.
The empty café was tranquil save for the scratching of your pencil as you scribbled on your sketchbook. Saiki sat across from you, paying you no attention just as you did to him. His usual stoic expression was abandoned as he blissfully devoured his coffee jelly.
“I have a dream. After high school, I’ll travel around the world for a bit. I’ll join a bunch of art competitions and win a bunch of awards. Then eventually, I’ll go to an art school in New York so I can major in Illustration. And maybe I might even make a best-seller manga one day,” you mused.
‘Isn’t it a little too early for us to think about the future?’ Saiki retorted.
“Maybe. But I’ve had this dream for as long as I can remember.”
Art class was the subject you looked forward to the most in school. Not only because you excelled in many art mediums, but also because you took pride in the techniques you honed over the years of endless practice.
For the day’s lesson, you were to pair up with one person in the class and draw each other’s portraits. You casually looked around the room in search of anyone available.
From the corner of your eye, you noticed Kokomi rushing up to Saiki with an excited smile as she called out, “Saiki, do you want to-” a majority of the boys in class crowded around her before she could say her piece. Saiki walked up to you instead, asking if you wanted to pair up with him.
You glanced briefly at Kokomi, feeling a tad bit guilty for stealing her choice of partner while she was being surrounded by her group of fans hoping that she would choose one of them. But you couldn’t bring yourself to reject the pink-haired boy’s request.
Taking a seat from across each other, you adjusted your easel so you could get a better view of Saiki’s face. Despite the red tint dusting your cheeks from the intimacy of his peering gaze, you couldn’t bring yourself to look away from him. You perceived for the first time that Saiki was actually quite good looking.
You looked down at your page so you could sketch his appearance: the antennae on his head, his green glasses, soft pink hair, slender neck, smooth lips, chiselled face, sharp eyes. You looked up to take a quick peek at him again.
The constant blinking on his impassive face made your eyes widen in amusement and you frantically placed a hand over your mouth to prevent a snort from escaping.
‘Why are you laughing?’
“Because you’re blinking so much that it looks ridiculous,” you explained with a chuckle.
‘I have to keep on blinking so my x-ray vision resets. I’m trying to get a look at your face.’
You let out another coy giggle despite the heat rushing to the tips of your ears. He looked down at his paper to continue his piece with a warm smile barely present on his face.
You concentrated on your own illustration, marking down his affectionate expression before Saiki could return to his blank face, and showing it off as soon as you finished.
‘Not bad. Now take a look at mine.’
He flipped his paper over, exhibiting an intricate and beautiful portrait. The focused expression he depicted on your face while you drew him looked so alluring. You almost didn’t recognize it as your own, even though it was practically a mirror image.
"This looks way too realistic for someone who's trying not to stand out."
'It should be fine if it's you.'
You didn't understand what he meant, but his words caused butterflies to flutter in your stomach.
‘I need your help,’ A familiar voice spoke in your mind.
You jumped in surprise at the unexpected appearance of the pink-haired boy you had grown fond of. Your sketchbook flew out of your lap, falling right at your feet.
“How did you know I was here?” You asked with a huff.
‘In case you forgot, I can hear your thoughts. I know that sometimes you like to come here to the school rooftop during lunch.’
“Oh,” you uttered. “Well, since you came all this way to see me, what can I do for you?” You raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
'I need you to help me reject Teruhashi.'
You pursed your lips in uncertainty.
"Kokomi is my friend, and as her friend, you can't expect me to hurt her feelings."
'As my friend, you can't expect me to lead her on when I don't ever intend on returning her feelings. She'll get hurt either way. All I'm asking is for you to help me avoid her so she'll get over me.’
You knew he was right, but you were still unsure of meddling in a situation you weren't a part of, especially when it involved the feelings of your close friend. You looked out the window in contemplation.
“Why are you asking me? Mikoto would be a better choice.”
‘I trust you more, so it has to be you.’
You ignored the churning in your stomach as you casually threw your hands up, giving in to his request.
“I’ll see what I can do.”
‘Thank you.’
Saiki bent down on one knee, reaching out to grab your fallen sketchbook.
“I can pick that up myself, you know, or you if you wanted to help me that badly, you could’ve done that levitation thing you always do.”
‘I know.’
He held the book out, watching you through his glasses while he knelt by your feet. A saying Chiyo once told you a long time ago reverberated at the back of your mind: “Don’t you think Saiki looks like a prince?”
You gripped the sketchbook in his hand. Saiki’s gaze burned on your orbs as your image reflected off his green lenses. Neither one of you let go, even when your fingertips brushed against one another.
“What colour are your eyes?” You wondered.
‘Violet.’
“Major in Economics at Sayftee University and major in Literature at both Komman University and Ahvraj University,” you read out Saiki's school survey. “These are all surprisingly in character for you, but do you really have no dreams beyond living an ordinary life?”
‘I’m too busy thinking of ways to stop the volcano eruption to worry about my future.’
“You have a point there. Any luck with that?” you inquired.
Saiki shook his head.
“I guess that means we’ll be second years again.”
You didn’t keep track of how long time had been looping, and you found that you didn’t really care since you were already accustomed to the familiarity of your seemingly endless high school life. You were happy, even if it meant that the dreams you’ve been chasing for so long were slipping farther away from your grasp with every day that passed.
‘No, it’s about time I put an end to this.’
Saiki’s determined expression was embedded in your mind.
Your screams of disbelief were muffled by the pillow you held against your face.
You had vowed to yourself since you were young that you wouldn’t grow attached to anyone. After all these years, you had to go back on your word just when you were about to leave.
Now was not the time. Not here. Not with him.
Kokomi and Chiyo took it upon themselves to pay you a visit after you skipped school for five days without notice. The dark circles under your eyes and your sunken face visibly worried them.
“I’m in love with Saiki,” you murmured, gazing sullenly at your blue-haired friend. “I’m sorry.”
Kokomi’s face fell, but she showed no signs of surprise.
“I already knew that. It was obvious with the way you always look at him,” she lamented. Kokomi cupped your balled fists in her hands and looked at you wistfully. “He rejected me a few days ago, so you don’t have to worry about hurting my feelings. I think you two would look good together.”
You felt tears threatening to spill over your eyes. Whether it was from relief that Kokomi accepted you so easily or pain from your unfortunate situation, you didn’t know.
“I’m leaving Japan after we graduate,” you disclosed.
A dejected silence fell upon you three until Chiyo spoke up, “For how long?”
“An indefinite amount of time.”
“Are you ever coming back?”
“I don’t know.”
Their glum faces only worsened your mood.
“Why have you been avoiding me?”
You tensed at the accusing tone directed at you. Saiki’s piercing gaze was pointed at your shrinking figure.
No matter how much time had passed since the loss of his abilities, you doubted that you would ever get used to the sound of his voice resonating out loud, or the enchanting shade of his eyes, even if they looked dangerously menacing at the moment.
“I wasn’t avoiding you. I was just busy studying for exams and doing other stuff,” you explained weakly.
Saiki’s deadpan expression indicated that he didn’t believe your lie.
After a few minutes of squirming underneath his scrutinizing gaze, you gave in and told him your worries, “I’m leaving the country soon. I think we should stop talking to each other so that it won’t be so hard for us to say goodbye.”
You pushed past him. You didn’t know where your feet planned on dragging you, but you figured anywhere was fine so long as you could get away from him.
The familiar warmth of Saiki’s hand wrapped around your own, stopping you from taking another step away. You didn’t dare turn around as you felt your heart thumping wildly.
“I won’t ever ask this of anyone else, so I’m begging you not to push me away,” he pleaded. He placed your hand over his chest, giving away the heavy pulsing of his heartbeat.
You could never say no to him.
Memories of the last few years ran through your mind as you smiled at the nostalgia. You took one final glance at your high school building before turning your back on it, striding towards the exit.
You stopped at the sight of a familiar figure standing under the shade of a cherry blossom tree. Saiki must have known that you were staying much later after the graduation ceremony, all thanks to his restored powers.
‘Good grief. Were you really planning on leaving without saying goodbye?’ His voice resounded in your head.
You didn’t respond as you watched the wind blow through his hair, the sun illuminating the affectionate smile on his face, the violet obscured by his green glasses, and the petals dancing around the two of you as they fell to the ground. The timing was right. The mood was right. Everything was right.
He rubbed the back of your hand while you reached out to intertwine your fingers with his. The warmth that radiated off his skin felt like home.
He knew, and you knew that he did. After all, you could never hide your secrets from a psychic, no matter how hard you tried. However, you couldn’t bring yourself to tell him how you felt.
“Goodbye,” you pulled away from Saiki.
What was the point of confessing your feelings to someone you would never see again?
Paris, France was one of your destinations out of many. Most people romanticized the capital as the City of Love, but the only reason you were even there in the first place was to visit the Louvre, the world’s largest art museum.
Influenced by the art and the romantic ambience, you sketched out the scenery around you, deliberating how you could embody the city on paper. If you were to draw a picture of love, what would you envision?
Maybe, it would look like pink locks tousled by the spring breeze, or the reflection of your eyes searching for violet orbs through tinted green glass. It might have been the lingering warmth on the fingertips of someone who trusted you enough to share their deepest secret, or the gentle smile that was reserved only for you during the most intimate of moments.
Your love was constant and unchanging. You realized that now. No matter how much time had passed or how many countries you visited, you always found yourself thinking about home.
Ever since you were a young student in junior high, you had hated the thought of giving up on your dreams to pursue a flighty, insignificant relationship. Six years ago, you threw away your chance at love to focus on your aspirations. There was no point in thinking back on what might have been. You shouldn’t have.
You made a name for yourself through the many art competitions you joined, winning a few awards here and there. A while back, you finished your Bachelor's Degree in Illustration at a famous art school in New York. Things were coming together quite nicely.
Your high school days almost seemed like a lifetime ago. The memories that used to be the center of your universe, the laughter you shared with your friends, and a not so ordinary boy with psychic powers were at the back of your mind. Everyday life without the only person you've ever loved became the norm for you.
You recently got a job offer from a famous publishing company in Japan after you posted a short comic that blew up in popularity. The editor in chief sealed the deal with you after you sent him a promising draft for a manga you had planned out.
It had been years since you’ve been to the country, but your return and the nostalgic surroundings brought back old recollections that made you feel like you were a teenager again.
The chief took it upon himself to give you a tour around the company, showing you the work environment and the employees. He guided you through the different floor levels, offices and workrooms, and acquainted you with the higher-ups. But he had yet to introduce the editor you would be working with.
"There he is."
The chief led you towards the figure of a man who had his back turned to you. The pink tuft of hair on his head and the silly-looking antennae shaped into joysticks poking out of his scalp were noticeably familiar. But you couldn’t believe it.
He turned around, green-tinted eyes boring into yours with the same neutral expression you used to see every day. Even when you had anticipated who it was, you couldn’t help the breathless gasp that escaped your lips.
"This is Saiki Kusuo. He will be the editor in charge of overseeing your work,” the chief introduced to you.
You took the hand Saiki held out for you, shaking it courteously. His blank expression didn’t fade, but his eyes softened under your gaze. The warmth on his grip was just as comforting as you remembered, like the welcoming embrace for a loved one returning home.
Neither one of you let go.
"Well, since it's already after work hours, you guys should grab dinner and get to know each other. You'll be working closely for a while, after all," the chief suggested before leaving you and Saiki alone.
A hushed silence washed over both of you as the world disappeared before your sight. The image of a cherry blossom tree on a sunny spring day was evoked in your mind.
He sat next to you in a secluded booth of the café you used to frequent, away from prying eyes.
"What happened to majoring in Economics and Literature?" you asked.
Your body was angled in his direction while you engaged him in conversation. Despite the many years apart, you and Saiki had fallen back to the easygoing relationship you once shared.
'I finally had time to think about my future, and I realized that this is what I wanted.'
“You wanted to be a manga editor like your dad?” you prompted.
‘Not quite.’
Saiki was composed as usual as he turned to face you.
'I have a dream. After you accomplished your goals, we would find each other again and spend the rest of our lives together. And maybe we might even make a best-seller manga one day,’ he mused.
Your heart was beating rapidly in your chest. The words you couldn’t bring yourself to say on the day of your graduation poured out unthinkingly from your throat.
“I love you.”
He placed a hand on the back of your neck, closing the distance between you.
‘I know.’
Your lips crashed into his, moulding perfectly as they moved against one another. You gripped his shoulders, pulling him in as he snuck an arm around your waist. Your eyelids fluttered shut, relishing in the sweet sensation of his taste.
You only pulled away minutes after to catch your breath. His forehead leaned against yours, the tip of your noses barely skimming each other. The look of adoration in his eyes revealed that he felt the same way.
No matter how long he waited, your love for each other was unchanging.

[heads in hands]
Kubokai Cinderella AU very possible.
[hands in heads]
Saiki as fairy god father.
[holds back tears]
I’m gonna talk about this right now. Ready? Go.
Cinderella Kubokai AU
Look, everyone, when I said Cinderella Kubokai AU, I think your automatic thinking would be; “Oh! Kaidou Shun would be Cinderella right?”
Wrong. In fact, we’re going to toss the idea of Cinderella out the window right now but keep the foundations of it: Local villager marries royalty with the help of magic.
Presenting: Prince Kaidou Shun.
Prince Kaidou has problem interacting with girls, he thinks they’re cute and all, he thinks they’re flattering, but whenever he encounters one all he can think is; “Just like my sister!”
Like seriously, even when the woman is nothing like his sister, he’d still think that. It’s like his automatic assumption when he doesn’t feel romantic feelings towards them.
Anyway his strict but concerned mother decides, “Yeah, Plan D, let’s hold a Royal ball.” You wouldn’t want to know what the previous plans were (nothing harmful, just embarrassing).
Now here’s the twist; Saiki Kusuo, the fairy god father, isn’t actually with Kuboyasu. In fact, there is no evil family members involved (if you don’t count the fact that, yes, Kuboyasu comes from a line of bandits).
Saiki Kusuo actually lives in the castle with Kaidou because his older brother is the royal advisor, Kaidou’s personal tutor, and the occasional inventor.
Instead of hair clips, Kusuo wears special earrings that keep his powers in check. Most of his abilities are still identical to his psychic abilities, but they are labeled as magic.
He, along with Nendou Riki (a knight that came from a family of knights), act as Kaidou’s friends but also bodyguards.
Anyway, Kaidou’s distressed because he doesn’t exactly want to have a ball. Sure, he likes them generally, he gets to wear nice clothes, dance, act all princely (that part isn’t much fun, but ehh) but this ball is different.
Kusuo doesn’t care for things like these, but he does grow sympathetic after two hours of Kaidou complaining, so he forms a plan;
During the ball, Kusuo would sneak Kaidou out the castle and pretend to be the prince. Since Kusuo’s skilled at turning down women, he thinks it’ll be an easy (though annoying) night for him.
Kaidou agrees, but the problem is; even though Kusuo is able to replicate Kaidou’s identity, his earrings would still remain. They’re specially made for him, so it practically works as a collar on a dog.
They manage to solve that problem by making a pair of earrings that sorta looks like Kusuo’s, if not a little weirder in color and shape, and Kaidou will wear it throughout the day on the night of the ball. Like that, his family would easily be fooled.
Ball arrives and the plan goes accordingly (when asked, Kaidou says he liked Kusuo’s earrings so much that he got a pair to match), so Kusuo sneaks Kaidou out the castle.
“I’ll have outside help look after you, so don’t worry. Unless your life is in immediate danger, they won’t appear so you can relax.” Kusuo has already morphed himself to appear like Kaidou and the boy thinks that it’s insanely creepy.
Here the story splits into 2; Kusuo’s adventure and Kaidou’s adventure. I’ll talk about Kaidou’s then Kusuo’s in a different post (maybe).
Kaidou enjoys a nightly walk in the village in his almost too big hooded coat, taking in the homely scenery. Everything feels...softer, their wooden walls seem much more welcoming than the stoned ones in the castle.
Of course, the number one rule in the village is to not go out at night for too long, because you never know when-
“Hey,” Kuboyasu, the bandit, has made an entrance! What will he do? A. Fall in love. B. Fall in love. C. Fall in love. D. Attempt to rob Kaidou.
You guessed it! D.
“Give me everything you have, including those earrings.” Kuboyasu says, and it’s a bit too dark to make out the face he’s making, but Kaidou thinks the darkness literally enhances the threatening look. Though, the man doesn’t even have a weapon.
Unless he’s going to rip Kaidou apart with his bare hands.
Then Kaidou starts bawling, but not the loud screaming kind, it was the soft sniffling one. The kind that basically meant; “Why me?”
Kuboyasu does a double take because he doesn’t know what to do when his victim starts sniffling soft sobs. He was never taught what to do.
“Oh- Uh- Okay. Sorry. Don’t...cry...” Kuboyasu may be a thief, but he ain’t an asshole. He awkwardly pats Kaidou on the shoulder. “I was just joking! It’s not safe to be out in the dark like this so I was just trying to...” He feels bad.
Okay, new plan, he thinks, I’ll just take the pretty boy with me, let him stay in my home then take his things and take off.
Because actually, Kuboyasu doesn’t exactly live in this village. Him and his gang are littered around, staying in places, because they heard about the ball and thought they could raid a few carriages when they arrive. Some of them did manage to achieve their goal and were about to stay a bit longer just to relax before heading off again.
“I thought jokes were supposed to be funny,” Kaidou frowned, already calming down, and wow does this boy have a tongue. Kuboyasu’s only a little bit less guilty now.
“Do you want to stay at my place till the sun comes up? It’s the least I could do to apologize.”
Kaidou thinks about it. Wow! Sleeping in a commoner’s home! Exciting!
He agrees.
Now guess what happens.
Kuboyasu: A. Falls in love. B. Falls in love. C. Falls in love. D. Steals Kaidou’s things and take off.
You guessed it! It’s A, B, C!
Kuboyasu has never met a guy so...cute? Light? Kaidou was like a flower, dancing in the wind.
From the way his eyes lit up to see a regular looking home to the way he oo’ed and ah’ed and everything Kuboyasu stole had.
It was endearing.
So endearing, Kuboyasu couldn’t help but let Kaidou be for the rest of the night.
Anyway, Kuboyasu isn’t exactly stupid, but he thought he might’ve picked up a sort of...forest spirit?
It wasn’t common knowledge that magic existed, but Kuboyasu has been to places, seen many things, so he thinks Kaidou could be a deity. Kaidou even looks like one. Blue hair, pale skin, red eyes.
It doesn’t register that Kaidou was a prince, because somehow that seemed more unlikely. Somehow.
Maybe he’s a little stupid.
Kuboyasu asks Kaidou if he really is a spirit and Kaidou’s like, “Yeah, yeah, duh!”
So Kuboyasu thinks he’s blessed and decides he’ll stay in the village to just...take care of Kaidou because he thinks that’s his responsibility now.
And remember Kusuo saying he had helpers to keep Kaidou safe? Well said helpers only reinforced the idea that Kaidou could be a spirit because for every trouble he gets into, he somehow always gets out of it by “himself”.
Also, if you’re wondering why Kaidou couldn’t go home yet, I’ll answer that in Kusuo’s side of the story. (I’ll also wrap up the story then, maybe.)
Which I’ll do, later, after I sleep. G’night.
(Basically the whole idea is that; Kuboyasu is trying to be a better person so Kaidou will bless him more, while Kaidou takes advantage of this misunderstanding to learn about the outside world first hand. Slowburn. Maybe.)

Chapter Seven: How Shady! Dark Reunion!

---
AKARI SIGHED CONTENTLY AS SHE FOLLOWED KUSUO to their class for the day. The day had started out relatively all right, for her at least. Her brother hadn't woken her up as abruptly as he usually does, her dad made her favorite breakfast, and her mom had enough time to see them off to school for once. The day was actually turning out to have a good start for once. She wasn't in her usual slightly grumpy mood or had an urge to hide in the shadows like every other morning. Instead, she was completely content with how her day started out. She had a feeling that things would be quite all right today.
Just as the superpower duo was going to enter their classroom, the blue-haired boy that associated himself with them came over. He seemed to be quite jittery about something. Unprompted he turned and spoke to them, "You see, I've been summoned. I can't say more right now, but it's going to rock the world. I'll explain when the time comes." With that, he then turned and waddled away from them.
They watched him go in confusion, 'What?' Kusuo wondered, 'Did he make a friend or something?'
'Should we look into that or...?' Akari's eyes trailed after him before turning to her pink-haired friend with a little bit of worry swarming in her eyes. She knew how Kaidou could get himself hurt extremely easily, so she could help but want to look out for him.
'Probably not.'
Akari's eyes rolled at his blatant uninterest in the mystery that is Kaido. Then again, she should have suspected that he wouldn't care. He barely cares about anyone besides himself, so it shouldn't be surprising to her. Come on, Akari, don't you remember who you're dealing with? 'What if it's something bad?'
Kusuo turned his bored eyes down to her, 'Do you really care?'
'Maybe a little...' Akari shrunk under his intense stare and looked away, 'I mean, he's a moron, you and I both know he could get hurt easily and by just about anything.' So what if she was looking out for him. Sure, she didn't get involved with people because she didn't want to gain attention, however, Kaido was a bit different. She was one of the only few people she considered to be at least an acquaintance. She even believed that Kusuo would think of the blue-haired boy as the same. That being said, she at least wanted to make sure that he was safe. God forbid he was going to end up getting himself into a situation where he was going to get hurt and Akari could have done something to stop it from happening, she would be disheartened. Akari hated dealing with people. However, the few that she did find endearing or tolerable were the ones she did not want to end up hurt in any way. So sue her if she wanted to keep an eye out for him. She was just being a decent human being.
Kusuo stared at her blankly for a long moment before mentally grumbling, 'You have a soft spot for him.'
'Not really.' Akari said and tilted her head in thought while placing a hand on her chin, 'He's kind of like a puppy, I guess.'
The two stood in silence for a moment as Kusuo contemplated slightly over it. Though from the corner of his eye he could see the expression on Akari's pale face. She obviously was trying to convince him with the pleading spark in her eyes. Most of the time he can say no to her, as he's done in the past many, many times. Yet as of recently, he's found that he's had a bit of a harder time saying 'no' to her. He had no idea why, and he didn't question it all that much. There was a small huff that came from him in annoyance, 'If this is just a waste of time, I'm blaming you.'
'You blame me for everything!' Akari whined like a child with a pouty lip.
Kusuo barely spared her a glance while walking away from her, as if he were superior to her. Which he most certainly believed. 'Because it's usually your fault.'
'Ku-kun!'
Kaido walked down the hallway by himself. Every once in a while he would look over his shoulder as if making sure that no one was following him. Though who would want to follow him around? All they'd see is him running around going on about his Jet-Black Wings persona, which wasn't that special. Though he was being followed, he just couldn't see Kusuo or Akari thanks to the shadow manipulator using the darkness to hide them. So maybe he did have a right to be paranoid since he was actually being followed around.
Eventually, Kaido crept over to a door in an abandoned hallway. School was already over, so just about everyone should be headed home now. Unfortunately, Kusuo and Akari were not apart of the lucky group who got to go home since they were checking out what Kaido was doing. They watched as Kaido knocked on the door.
"Thurisaz, isaz, hagalaz," a voice asked from within the room.
Kaido answered back in the strange language, "Sowilo, gebo, fehu."
Once again there was a reply, "Ehwaz." Kaido then opened up the door and entered the small room with a table and empty chairs. Though at the head of the table sat a student wearing glasses, a hood over his head, and a bandana around his mouth and nose. Just before the door shut, a shadow slipped through the door just before it closed. The yellow eyes watch the scene from the corner of the room trying to figure out what was happening. The disguised student continued to speak, "You're here. You weren't followed, were you... Jet-Black Wings?"
So there was another kid who was willing to play around in Kaido's fantasy? Maybe Kusuo was right, Akari thought, maybe Kaido did somehow make a new friend...
"It's all right, Jade eyes." The bandaged boy greeted the boy at the head of the table, "I checked."
"Wait!" The other student, Jade eyes, exclaimed, "Aren't you forgetting something?"
Kaido gasped, "Oh, right. There's a sacred Barrier around this room. If you don't perform the Chalice Ritual within 66 seconds, you'll be destroyed."
"That's right," Jade eyes nodded, taking this just as seriously as Kaido.
Kaido then hit a few strange poses before clapping twice, "Laguz!"
The atmosphere once again became extremely serious as Kaido sat down at the other end of the table. Akari watched from the corner of the room with her eyes dully glowing. Her shadowy form tilted her head while watching them in confusion. Jade eyes quirked an eyebrow, "Well? Are you still confused?"
"It's not that simple! It's like I'm stuck in a bad dream." Kaido exclaimed, "I was once an A-level soldier in the Dark Reunion. I discovered their true goal, the Human Sorting Plan. I stole the stone of destruction, Panalyze, and escaped. They came after me, but I used the forbidden secret technique to become a phantom, and entered my own body before I was even born. For crying out loud!" Akari blinked at his long explanation.
Jade eyes deadpanned, "You look pleased."
"I'm not!" Kaido tried to deny though his voice showed how excited he was about this.
The other boy shook his head, "Anyway, it sounds like you've come to believe it." Was there any doubt that Kaido would believe that?
"I always knew I was different from other people," Kaido Shun -- Breed: Different.
Jade eyes continued on with their important meeting, "We need your power in order to destroy the Dark Reunion. We will assist you in recovering your memories."
Kaido tilted his head, "We? What do you mean? What are you saying?"
"There are four more here. All of them are phantoms." Jade eyes explained as if it were the most obvious thing ever. "Don't tell me you can't see them. If you can't, we're done here."
"Of course, I can!" Kaido frantically explained, "I was asking about their bodies."
"I see," the boy said with a small bit of skepticism in his voice, "That's right. Their bodies aren't here. The other members don't trust you yet."
"Really?"
"Speaking of which," Jade eyes spoke up, "did you perform the Sworn Friendship Purification?”
"I sure did," Kaido held up a notebook and handed it over to the other boy. Akari tried to get a peek into the book to see what was in it. Though it was kept close to their chests so she didn't even get to see once glance as to what was in it.
Jade eyes flipped through the pages of the book with wide eyes, "These answers are excellent. As expected for the Jet-Black Wings." Kaido puffed up in confidence, now that Jade eyes had built up his ego just a bit more. "They will surely accept you into their circle."
"Really? I'll do anything..."
"Get down!" Jade eyes suddenly shouted before making some hand signal, "Mannaz, ingwaz, wunjo!"
Kaido blinked in confusion, "What happened?"
The bandana-wearing boy turned to him dramatically, "The Dark Reunion sniffed out this place. We just got attacked."
"Attacked?" Kaido shouted out in alarm at the fantasy-level threat. Of course, there was no real threat that Akari or Kusuo could see. The only threat was how easily Kaido was falling for this. We love this boi, but he really is a moron sometimes.
"They got all four members," Jade eyes exclaimed.
Kaido gasped, "Even though they were phantoms?"
"Even though they were phantoms!" Jade eyes nodded, "We're in danger now. Help me make a stronger sacred barrier."
Kaido nodded his head, more than ready to help keep Dark Reunion away from their secret meeting. "Okay. What should I do?"
Jade eyes threw a bag onto the table, "Metal interferes with the sacred barrier. Take any metal you have on you, and put it in that bag made from a special cloth."
Without any question, Kaido started to do as instructed. Akari could already tell that this was nothing but a scam. She felt so bad that Kaido couldn't see it. His eighth-grade syndrome was so severe, that he couldn't even see what he was being played, how unfortunate. "Coins too?"
"Of course." Jade eyes said as Kaido pulled out any metal objects in his pocket. For some reason he had a harmonica and brass knuckles in his pocket... why? Jade eyes then exclaimed, "There's no time! Just put your whole wallet in there." Once Kaido's pockets were thoroughly empty of everything that was valuable, Jade eyes then walked over to him, "Okay! Now do what I do."
Kaido nodded his head, "Got it."
"Ansuz, jera!" Jade eyes shouted while hitting a pose that honestly reminded Akari of a k-pop band that she saw a while ago.
Kaido repeated, "Ansuz, jera."
Jade eyes hit another pose, "Ehwaz."
"Ehwaz."
It was silent for a moment. Nothing happened while Akari and Kusuo stared at the two bordley. For a moment, they shared a look with one another at the ridiculousness of the situation.
The two then let out a sigh of relief, "Looks like we managed to do it."
"That was close," Kaido wiped his brow as if that was exhausting.
"You should go now."
Kaido was more than happy to have the Jet-Black Wings help a comrade with defeating Dark Reunion. Though he did need his things back, "Okay. Can I have my money back?"
Jade eyes shook his head, "No can do. The sacred barrier is unstable. It's too dangerous."
Kaidou deflated, "But my wallet and my pass..."
"Thanks for your help. I could have died without you." Jade eyes cut him off, "That's our Jet-Black Wings. You're our savior."
"It wasn't a big deal," this Jade Eyes kid really knew how to stroke Kaidou's ego. One mention of the Jet-Black Wings helping save someone, playing right into his fantasy, and Kaidou would do just about anything to gain that validation again. It was kind of sad how this guy was playing Kaido so easily.
Jade eyes then pushed Kaido out the door, "Come again this time tomorrow." He shut the door in the blue-haired boy's face, "And don't forget the Sworn Friendship Purification."
"Sure," Kaido nodded his head before waddling off into the distance. Even while still in the room, Akari could tell that Kaido was more than elated with having someone else to play along with his fantasy as he most likely had a bit of pep in his step.
Now alone, or at least he thought so, "Jade eyes" pulled off his disguise with a hearty laugh, "Talk about delusions of grandeur!" He laughed, "This is just a book for homework. All I had to do was play along with him. He even handed over his wallet." While his plan was full-proof, he didn't even account for the super-powered teens who would be annoyed that he had played a trick on their... acquaintance.
'That's just straight-up mean.' Akari thought darkly as she and Kusuo continued to hide in the room while listening to the boy. Kusuo stuck himself on the ceiling out of sight while Akari stuck to the wall in her shadowy form. All this guy had done was play along with Kaido's fantasy to get what he wanted from him. How horrible did you have to be to do such a thing? Of course, Kaido fell for it so easily, all he really wanted was a friend to play along with him! So his moronic nature was susceptible to being taken advantage of by those who were willing to play him.
"The Dark Reunion? Good luck working on my homework!" The boy cackled in delight. His obvious enjoyment with having deceived Kaido was certainly pissing Akari off so much. She doesn't usually get involved with things like this since she had barely any friends. However, to know that someone as stupid and naive as Kaidou was being taken advantage of was rightfully making her angry. His joyous emotion disappointed once the lights suddenly turned off on him. "Did the power just go out?"
'No.' Kusuo said mentally as he suddenly appeared behind the imposter, 'It's Dark Reunion.' The shadows in the room seemed to grow thicker, like oil, and spilled across the floor as if it were paint. It slowly inched closer and closer to the deceiving teen as a pair of glowing yellow eyes glared down at him from within the inky darkness. The boy then screamed in terror.
The next day, Kaido made it his mission to find Kusuo as soon as he could. He was more than excited to bring his friend to the meeting, which was obvious from how his thoughts were only thinking about the meeting. Eventually, Kaido was able to corner Kusuo, "Saiki, you're coming with me to our secret meeting?!"
Kusuo grimaced through just followed after the other boy. 'I'd rather not.' He could already tell that Akari would want to go, so he'd have no choice. That and if he didn't, she may end up taking his coffee jelly privileges from him. He would certainly not sacrifices getting to eat the Watanabe coffee jelly. It was one of the best coffee jellies he's ever had. Though don't tell Akari that, she might just tease him for it.
Speaking of the shadow manipulator, she suddenly appeared at Kusuo's side. Well, to Kaido it looked as though she suddenly materialized out of nowhere, but she's been there the entire time. "Can I come as well, Kaido-san?"
Kaido jumped and started to stutter. "A-Ah, Watanabe-chan!" Even in her presence, his cheeks were starting to turn just a light shade of pink. While Akari was quite a cute girl, she wasn't necessarily on the level of goddess-like beauty as Teruhashi, though that didn't mean she couldn't affect people to some extent. Akari was at least somewhat aware of how she could fluster some people just by looking at them, but she didn't care enough to exploit that or anything. Besides, it rarely happened because she never really grabbed attention because of her power. "O-O-Of course you can come with! I would be b-best to show you to k-keep you safe from Dark Reunion!"
Akari nodded her head as Kaido started to lead the pair down the hallway towards the room that he had been in the other day. "Don't tell anyone yet. This affects the whole world.” They approached the door and found that it was slightly ajar, “What? It's open.” The teens entered the room and found that the room was trashed with the table overturned and curtains torn. “What's going on?” A certain marking on the wall then caught Kaido’s attention causing him to gasp, “That's the mark of the Dark Reunion. Are they following me even now?"
Behind him, Akari and Kusuo shared a look with each other, "Correct."

PK Academy Psykickers Part 2 || Saiki K.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART 2 - Finding the Idiot Monk (read Prologue & Part 1 first)
The blonde gyaru girl checked the address on her phone again, then looked up at the brick house. It was ordinary-looking, but still tasteful.
“Heh, who would have thought that someone capable of ending the world lived here?” she chuckled to herself.
Aiura Mikoto rang the doorbell and waited.
“Welcome!! I’m coming! Oh, you must be one of Kuu’s friends? Aw, I’m so happy for my little Kuu. Thank you for being his friend, he isn’t the easiest to hold a conversation with, am I right?”
A bright, cheerful voice laughed. It belonged to a sweet-looking woman, Kurumi Saiki.
“Sup --- I MEAN, good morning, ma’am! Yes, I’m one of Kusuo’s friends, I was wondering if we could go to a café together?”
Good grief. ‘Friend’ is stretching it.
Oh well, I suppose I’d better go with her if we ever want to find Toritsuka.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Soooo what do we do first? Do we have a plan?”
No. Both my Clairvoyance and Telepathy is not working for Toritsuka. Your Scouring and Fortune-Telling abilities are not working either. We are at a dead end.
“Geez, such a downer…”
“Your Coffee Jelly has arrived, sir! Your mango smoothie will be here shortly, ma’am.”
The moment Saiki scooped a portion into his mouth, his expression softened and his eyes closed. Aiura started laughing.
“Saiki, your face is literally... melting!! Seriously, is it that good? Ok anyway, we shouldn’t get distracted, let’s – HEY, QUIT IT!”
Aiura started laughing uncontrollably again.
“Seriously, we need to-”
Don’t underestimate the power of Coffee Jelly, Aiura. I’ve got the plan now.
“Wait really?! Great! What do I do?”
We both do nothing.
“As much as I love that plan, I don’t actually want Reita to be in any danger…”
We both do nothing, instead, we ask Touma.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Kusuo Saiki! Mikoto Aiura! What a pleasant surprise! You know, I don’t usually have people come up to me, so I’m delighted! Is there anything you might want to ask? If it’s anything to do with Shounen Jump, I’m afraid I haven’t read the new issue so don’t spoil please also I believe this is the first time we have conversed Miss Aiura, what a pleasure and Saiki why did you come with someone else I thought you were more introverted which leads to the question of why you even came up to me you usually try to avoid me this is most unlike your usual behaviour is there anything weird going on if so then perhaps I could help but first have any of you heard of the new species of seaweed that looks like moss apparently it’s called-”
“IT’S THIS GUY?! SAIKI, PLEASE DON’T TELL ME WE ARE WORKING WITH HIM!”
Akechi Touma possesses unrivalled deductive skills.
“Aw, man..”
Touma, I have to ask you a favour.
“I would be happy to help! As long as it doesn’t involve Tuesday afternoon or Friday morning or any challenging physical tasks or a who-can-keep-silent-the-longest challenge or-”
Reita Toritsuka has not been seen at school for a week. My psychic abilities have been blocked for him. Same for Aiura’s. Do you have any clue where he is?
Akechi straightened.
“Of course. And luckily for you guys, there are only two possible locations where Toritsuka is being kept. Either at school, or where he lives.”
Aiura stared, dumbfounded.
“Woah… hold on a sec, are you for real? How d’ya know that?”
Akechi smiled, and continued.
“Whoever is behind is trying to lure you two in, because they have kept Toritsuka for a full week. Keeping him for a long time only means you have a long time to search more areas, so why would they risk that? Because they want you to find them. Whoever is behind this also has plenty of information about you guys, to have successfully blocked your powers. This means they would know that you know that the places Toritsuka spends the most time is at school and home.
So, to cap it up, if they know that you know Toritsuka spends most his time at school and home, and they want you to find them, then they would hide Toritsuka either at school, or where he lives.”
“Omg… this is, like, totally CRAZY, are you a psychic or something?”
…This is the first time my mind has felt so jumbled.
Anyway, no time to doubt Touma.
Teleportation!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saiki looked around the peaceful place in the forest, at the bamboo huts. He spotted an old man, who looked rather distressed.
Good afternoon, sir. Have you, by any chance, seen a young, stupid guy with purple hair and a necklace of red beads?
“Eh? Who are you? Why should I answer?”
Me? I’m god.
Saiki started levitating, and set himself on fire using Pyrokinesis.
Now let me ask you again. Have you, or have you not seen Reita Toritsuka?
“W-why yes, he is indeed the issue of my concern! I haven’t seen the hair or hide of that foolish boy in a week!” the monk babbled.
God appreciates your compliance. You will receive a free bucket of chicken the next time you visit a convenience store.
Teleportation!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So he wasn’t doing some monk ritual?” Aiura sighed in dismay.
Saiki shook his head.
“Dammit.. it would’ve been so much more convenient if he was! Now we gotta check every darn room in the whole school!”
But luck, fortunately, was on their side.
The second janitor supply room they checked contained no cleaning products. Instead, there were only two things in the small, dark space.
Reita Toritsuka, gagged and tightly bound to a chair.
And a mysterious paper card, lying on the floor.
It read:
‘𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒸𝓁𝓊𝑒𝓈 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓉𝑒𝓁𝓁 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓌𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝐼 𝒶𝓂. 𝒮𝑜 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒹 𝓂𝑒... 𝒾𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒸𝒶𝓃!’

Alternate Cold War Elections
Democratic Presidential Nominees
1960: John F. Kennedy/Lyndon B. Johnson
1964: John F. Kennedy/Lyndon B. Johnson
1968: Lyndon B. Johnson/Hubert Humphrey
1972: Lyndon B. Johnson/Hubert Humphrey
1976: Hubert Humphrey/Fred Harris
1980: Ted Kennedy/Mo Udall
1984: Gary Hart/Jesse Jackson
1988: Gary Hart/Jesse Jackson
1992: Jesse Jackson/Al Gore
Republican Presidential Nominees
1960: Richard Nixon/Henry Cabot Lodge Jr
1964: Barry Goldwater/William E. Miller
1968: Nelson Rockefeller/Ronald Reagan
1972: Ronald Reagan/George Romney
1976: Ronald Reagan/Bob Dole
1980: Ronald Reagan/Bob Dole
1984: Bob Dole/George Bush
1988: Pat Robertson/Pat Buchanan
1992: Ted Stevens/Pat Saiki
1960 occurs as it did in our timeline, but 1964 sees Kennedy survive his assassination attempt and win re-election against segregationist and father of modern conservatism Barry Goldwater.
1968 sees Vice President Johnson as the front runner following the assassination of the president’s brother and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. Johnson still picks Hubert Humphrey as his running mate in this timeline as he did in our 1964, because Humphrey was a civil rights activist and father of modern liberalism (he’d be a progressive today, but in the 60s that was seen as a Republican term because of Teddy Roosevelt). Because Kennedy is still alive, Richard Nixon doesn’t stand a chance at securing renomination; he won in our 1968 because he positioned himself as less extreme than loser Goldwater, but in this timeline it would be a close race between moderate governor Nelson Rockefeller of New York and conservative governor Ronald Reagan of California. Rockefeller would probably pick Reagan as his VP to balance the ticket, east and west, liberal and conservative, while in our timeline the non-extremist but still conservative Nixon chose moderate governor Spiro Agnew of Massachusetts. Rockefeller/Reagan loses because Johnson’s messaging is clear (liberal), while Rockefeller’s is muddled (mixed ticket).
1972 sees Johnson and Humphrey narrowly win re-election because of their handling of the 1969-1970 recession and their promise to end the Vietnam War. Johnson died in 1973 in our timeline, so it’s possible he might bow out and let Humphrey get the nomination in 72, but I think he would be more likely to stay on as president and die in office. Ronald Reagan would be the front runner for the Republicans, and I see him likely winning the popular vote, with moderate governor George Romney of Massachusetts as his running mate. For a long time, Republicans tended to run on split tickets; liberal Eisenhower and conservative Nixon, conservative Nixon and moderate Agnew then moderate Ford, moderate Ford and conservative Dole, conservative Reagan and moderate Bush, years later we saw moderate McCain and conservative Palin, moderate Romney and conservative Ryan. That ship had sailed though, it’ll be noting but conservatives from here on out. But in this version of 72, Reagan plays it safe with moderate Romney (father of Mitt)
1976 sees president Humphrey run for re-election and lose in a landslide to Reagan who was so popular with Republicans that they would nominate him again despite losing. This is what they did to Nixon in our timeline, and it’s what the Democrats did to Adlai Stephenson in the 1950s. At first I thought Humphrey would run with former Georgia governor Jimmy Carter because he needed a moderate southerner to stand a chance, but Carter was not nationally known; he only won our 1976 because he positioned himself as a non-corrupt Washington outsider in the wake of Watergate. No Nixon in this timeline means no Watergate, so no need for Carter to run. Humphrey is super liberal, and he actually considered picking Oklahoma senator Fred Harris as his running mate in our 1968, so I’ll go with him instead. Harris supported Johnson’s Great Society (New Deal 2.0, War on Poverty), but didn’t support his war crimes in Vietnam. He ran himself in 72 and 76, losing both times, so I think he’s the perfect choice for Humphrey’s Vice. Reagan chooses fellow conservative Bob Dole as his VP this time because he figured Romney and the moderates were a liability last time; he goes full conservative (in for a penny in for a pound). I chose Dole because that’s who Gerald Ford picked in our 1976; moderate Ford originally had moderate Rockefeller as his VP, but replaced him with conservative Dole because he didn’t want to alienate conservative voters with a moderate/liberal Republican ticket against the moderate/liberal Democratic ticket of Carter and Mondale.
1980 would be much closer in this timeline than in ours. The economic policies that made Reagan king of the 80s make him royal fool of the 70s. The 1980 recession is seen as his fault instead of Carter’s, he pushes for wars against Iran after the revolution and the Soviets after they invade Afghanistan, which are unpopular so soon after Vietnam. Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, brother of the still alive former president John F. Kennedy, is the frontrunner for the Democrats, and he picks representative Mo Udall as his VP. Udall was super liberal and the frontrunner in our 1976, only losing because Carter had less baggage; he would have been the first sitting representative to be elected president since James A. Garfield in 1880. When Kennedy challenged Carter in the 1980 primaries, Udall was his main supporter, so it makes sense for her to unite in this version of 1980. I think Reagan would win because he has a slight incumbency advantage, but it’s nowhere near the landslide of his 84 re-election in our timeline. I expect he would be impeached by House Democrats over his dealings with Iran and the Mujahideen in Afghanistan; in this timeline there was no Watergate, so this would become the defining scandal of the 20th century. Reagan wouldn’t resign because he was too proud and figures he had enough support to survive impeachment; he’s probably right, becoming the second president to be impeached and acquired after Andrew Johnson in 1868. But this means he is reviled by both parties after leaving office, going down in history as a middling-to-bad president like Nixon or George W. Bush
Senator Gary Hart of Colorado was a frontrunner in both 84 (losing to the late VP Walter Mondale, liberal protege of Hubert Humphrey), and 88 (dropping out of the race because of reports of an extramarital affair). Without Mondale as a challenger, he would win the 84 nomination hands down. I have him pick Reverend Jesse Jackson as his running mate to mirror our Mondale’s choice of Geraldine Ferraro. Ferraro would have been the first female VP, and Jackson would become the first black VP. After the economic collapse brought on by the scandal plagued Reagan administration, the Democrats were all but guaranteed to win back the White House as they did in our 76. Reagan’s VP Dole would be the front runner, and he would go back to the split ticket strategy, picking moderate CIA director George Bush as his running mate. Bush was the frontrunner in our 80 because he was the most experienced candidate with the highest qualifications, a foreign policy expert who lost to Reagan because he was REALLY boring. Regan picked him as VP to unite the party’s wings, so I can see Dole trying that here.
Side note: President Hart would have a very different relationship with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher of the UK (if the Conservative Party was still in power in this timeline; they won in part because Democrat Carter was a terrible president, making their UK analog Labour Party look bad). In our timeline, Obama chose Hart as Envoy to Northern Ireland (like an ambassador, but Northern Ireland isn’t an independent country), so this Hart would be integral in opposing Thatcher’s death squads, helping to ease tensions during the Troubles
1988 sees Hart/Jackson re-elected, though his affair might become an analog to Clinton’s Lewinski Scndal, leading to the Republican Revolution in the 80s instead of the 90s. Reagan would be redeemed in the eyes of conservatives, and the Democratic sex scandal would lead them to pick another far-right evangelical as their nominee, televangelist Pat Robertson, who came in third in the Republican primaries in our 88 against VP Bush and senator Dole. No Bush and no Dole means Robertson is the frontrunner, and I figure he’d pick equally conservative columnist Pat Buchanan as his VP; Buchanan challenged Bush from the right in the 92 primaries, winning nearly a quarter of the vote (for the record, most incumbents run unopposed). Robertson and Buchanan are both non-politicians, so think of them as Double Trump.
1992, VP Jesse Jackson would be the frontrunner for the Democrats, though challenged from the right by moderate governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas. I think Jackson would get the nomination, but I don’t know if he would win because of conservative opposition to the super liberal Hart administration; it would be like Al Gore’s race in the 2000, with everybody comparing him to the divisive Clinton. Jackson would stand a better chance than Gore though because he would make history as the first black presidential nominee, a proto-Obama. A Midwesterner, I figure he’d want to distance himself from westerner Hart by picking a southerner like Clinton, though Clinton would reject him because he wants the top spot, not the #2. He might then go for governor Douglas Wilder of Virginia, the first black governor since reconstruction, though having two black candidates on the same ticket would be a pipe dream in the 90s. He would probably end up with senator Al Gore, just like our Clinton; Gore chose not to run for president in 92 because his son had been hit by a car, which wouldn’t happen in this timeline because of the butterfly effect. Republicans in our timeline rallied behind senate majority leader Bob Dole; if he were VP under Reagan and the failed nominee in 84, they would probably gather around Ted Stevens of Alaska instead. Stevens was the Republican whip (#2) and frontrunner for majority leader in 1995 before narrowly losing to Dole, so he would probably be leader in this timeline, making him the presidential frontrunner in 96, though he was more moderate because he was personally pro-abortion and eventually pro-environmentalism (conservative Nixon created the EPA, so maybe Stevens would be similar). He might pick Patricia Saiki, former Republican representative from Hawaii, just to create a totally Pacific ticket as a gimmick, as well as nominating the first woman VP like Ferraro in our 84.
I have no clue who would win in this 92. If Jackson, he would run again in 96, but I have no idea who against. If Stevens, he would run again in 96 against Bill Clinton; Clinton was like Reagan, extremely ambitious, he would not stop until he took the White House.
I’m open to suggestions going forward from here. 1992 largely depends on whether or not Ross Perot runs as an independent and gains as much traction as he did in our timeline. Most third party candidates have either no national appeal or exclusively regional appeal, but Perot was a legitimate contender, qualifying for debates with Bush and Clinton and eventually winning nearly a fifth of the popular vote. It would also depend more on the Cold War; without Reagan in the 80s, US-Soviet relations would be very different, and there’s no guarantee that the USSR would collapse. The Berlin Wall would definitely fall, but I don’t know what 1991 would look like in this alternate Russia.
What do you guys think?

Hibari Headcanons
that nobody asked for
He likes small animals but not your usual small animals. (The way he kicked uri out in the future instead of letting the cat stay 😭) I.e he’d pick a sugar glider over a guinea pig
He hates crowds because he still hates the fact that when he was still learning to be sociable kids had the power of alienating him. He despises that group mindset that children had. In kindergarten some kids invited him to play then told him to get lost and nobody stood up for him. He has one intrusive thought and it’s that feeling. He genuinely hates crowds because it feels like an opportunity for people to get to decide who isn’t welcomed. He lowkey doesn’t want to witness that moment to happen to anyone else.
His overthinking only stops when he’s alone so he genuinely does prefer it. He doesn’t mind one or two people in an intimate setting but when it’s more he wants to disconnect.
He’s all about repaying debts quickly I think he takes this on an emotional level too so he feels if you get too close or kind he has to return that by being transparent as well and he knows he’s bad at it so he just stops you altogether by not letting you even create that environment around him. I.e in the future he’s fine in the hospital room then more people come and he warns Tsuna then beats his ass because it was getting too emotional seeing ppl visit chrome when he just wanted to check on her from afar and not hear everyone’s emotions.
He takes pictures of random things , like a leaf with water droplets, clouds from Nami middles roof , his sneakers when he’s walking. They’re not amazing but he just always does it and never shares. It’s kind of grunge but unintentionally.
He has a knack for throw blankets. He has one in every room they’re mostly black white or purple no designs except for the ones from his grandparents.
If you have ever watched Saiki k I think he has the exact same relationship with his parents. If you haven’t : he’s serious and reserved and willingly antisocial but not because of trauma and his parents are so normal and caring it’s funny in contrast. But they’re a tad bit more refined than saikis.
He was partly raised by his grandparents when he was much younger and that’s why he really loves tradition and order while his parents are hardly as strict.
His grandfather was probably a vet who joined solely to protect Namimori . Hibari has that same love for the town because of him but like his grandfather he’s in no way patriotic. They both just love this town He thinks of his grandfather when he thinks of Namimori and because he is gone now he latches on to the town even more.
His grandfather is Fon. Hear me out. Fon could have been around 40 when he was cursed , could’ve had a son young (18) but it was fine because he was a very well respected champion. The Hibaris had money and as long as he was a positive image in his career field they wouldn’t mind what he did although their lineage is that of leaders and scholars. He stopped for a bit to go into the army and when he came back he stumbles upon the mafia . His son grows up to also have a kid young Fon and his wife watch after Hibari until he’s around 7 while his son and daughter in law work extremely hard to get established in their career paths. They come back and one day Fon just vanished bc he’s cursed and hibaris dad knows he was in the mafia so he just doesn’t dwell on what might have happened but doesn’t share because he didn’t want to pain him as a bad guy to his son but they’re all pretty upset about it.
Fon taught hibari how to fight , that’s why he has his grandfathers disposition and tenacity although it’s a tad immature in comparison. Fon tells him his style will be what he picks and hibari randomly picks tonfas as his weapon. Fon has it in his house because although he uses no weapons he’s fond of their history. Fon gets him a pair of silver ones.
He’s not the brightest, he’s not as terrible as Tsuna and Yamamoto but he’s average academically. He’s not interested in excelling academically and getting a painfully respectable job like doctor lawyer or something in business. And I think his air of nonchalant attitude can only come from a trust fund kid who’s parents don’t expect them to be their carbon copy.
He literally gets himself held back just to stick around a middle school he likes and nobody objects or is worried about his future. It’s definitely secured.
He really doesn’t care about the disciplinary committee members because he didn’t mean to form it. Students have a love hate relationship with him. He was just some scary strong guy who happened to beat up the right people who were pests and they thought he did it for the good of everyone. But they realized too late that it’s really just who irritates him and that sometimes coincides with their best interest so they let it be because he’s a comforting and unsettling presence to have. Like even Tsuna acknowledges this despite being terrified of him most the time he’s always like “wait Hibari will handle it”
He likes that he has disciples because it’s a crowd he’s apart of and is the center of but doesn’t have to be too close and nobody can kick him out or make him feel unwanted.
His parents actually like that he’s respected (oblivious to the fear) as the leader of this club around town because their family is known for strong leadership and he’s applied it to what he wanted.
He likes hamburger steak because when his parents came back his mom liked to test American recipes once she moved back to Japan. This was the only one he really liked enough to ask for again
He can’t cook. At all. Hopeless. Would burn water.
He would kill you for a well made dessert. They put him in a good mood but he’s a weirdo that doesn’t like rewarding himself so it has to be a gift or offered.
He actually likes band t shirts ripped jeans boots and all of that but hardly wears it out because he finds he likes being in his uniform more.
He’s a good boxer because everyone seems to forget he won a BOXING match for royhei. Hello he couldn’t use tonfas he actually had to punch ppl. Yeah he’s strong but that’s a style of fighting he definitely learned from Fon.
He jogs on a private trail around his families property, sometimes his father joins him.
His parents know him really well. He’s not a difficult kid to them. they’re the only ones he answers to but even then they raised him to be independent so they’re not that authoritative over him.
He has a hard time listening to them because he thinks they leave him to govern himself too much and shouldn’t only get a say sometimes.
They feel bad about leaving him to his grandparents for so long but his mother says she’ll never regret making sure their lives were better for him.
They have a good relationship give or take a few problems stemming from their separation from him.
He can draw really well. I don’t know why. But he just does. He does it often on random papers his only collection being a small box his mother keeps of them. He hates when she saves them.
He’s the baby of his entire family but his father is on the higher end of his family and same with his mother for hers so everyone is always asking to see him but he refuses to leave Namimori for longer than a day or two.
He has a sister. Idk. I just feel he has a sibling that’s either way older or a toddler that spends time on trips with their mother because she doesn’t have school yet.
He watches horror movies with his parents a lot. But they have to be psychological thrillers and he always has to fight his dad with his mom on what everything meant.
He’s spoiled. He’s nonchalant about everything but when it comes down to it he is a trust fund baby who would have been sent to a nice private high school abroad.
He has been arrested but his father being his father makes an arrangement with the police force in Nami where he’s just his own independent junior division. It would explain why the people in his committee look significantly older than him sometimes😭.
Tetsyua has always been the only member who’s name he learned because he doesn’t disappoint him. He is to him what Shoichi was to Byakuran , competent in other areas and capable of surprising him. And he never made Hibari feel like he had to say anything to him for that hibari considers him to be a good friend.
Tetsu and Ryohei are the only people he finds familiar and respectable enough to converse with like a normal fucking teenager 😭.
Royhei is loud but he doesn’t mind him because the boy is ALWAYS alone training. And like him he doesn’t backdown from a fight , also he causes no trouble at school.
He hangs out with him more than you’d think but he never initiates it or stops it.
Hibari lets Royhei use his private trail to jog sometimes. His parents know the sasagawa kids well because of this, they get invited to dinner a lot.
He likes kyoko better because she’s like a quieter Royhei but just as kind and determined. He tries to be nice to her by greeting her from them to time but stops because she popular and it draws attention and annoying rumors.
She says he really hates crowds and understands how nosy people in their grade are and says it’s okay if he doesn’t wave back sometimes. She assumes he’s actually extremely shy and misunderstood. (Sis he’s just a delinquent)
It’s platonic but he actually fond of her and is nice to her and they text from time to time. She’s the only one who knows to give him sweets because they talk about them.
He tries to get revenge on Mukuro for making him associate something he actually liked enough to go view (Sakura) with humiliation and anger that he tries to return the favor. The bastard loves nothing that much so he’s still thinking.
His parents think some girl broke up with him at a Sakura filled place and that’s why he suddenly hates it. He won’t explain they’re wrong because it’s better than the real story.
He’s a history buff , but a world history buff not just Japan.
He has an admirable garden that he tends to and sells half the vegetables his chef only cooks for three and doesn’t need that many.
He likes the snow he thinks it’s calming when everyone stays home in their house while outside is cold and harsh but pretty. He makes his parents special hot chocolate on days like that. They let him drink hot wine sometimes but only a sip or two.
He’s bilingual because his parents taught him Italian when he was younger after they had come back. They also taught him a little English.
He watches a lot of American media and listens to their music as well.
On his birthday he never goes out because it’s a holiday and more people are out than usual so his family has a dinner for him and get him gifts.
His mother gives more thoughtful gifts that he appreciates later while his father indulges him and gets him stuff like a popular manga series or a meeting to upgrade his tonfas again or clothing he really likes.
