Terrible Influences

Raph, Leo, Donnie, Mikey, and Casey walk through an old, somewhat rundown apartment building, stopping at a door on the top floor, and knock.

Señor Hueso answers, looking mildly irked.

“Hi, Hueso,” the boys chimes happily.

“Ay dios mío,” he sighs and holds open the door for them.

“I can’t believe you’ve never invited us to your home before,” Leo remarks as they walk in.

“Because I see how you treat my restaurant,” Hueso replies.

“Oh, come on,” he argues, “we’ll be more careful with your personal possessions.”

As he says this, Mikey picks up an ornamental skull sitting on an armoire cabinet, and it slips from his fingers and shatters on the floor.

“Oops,” he squeaks.

Hueso sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Casey clears his throat. “So, uh, where is he?”

“Yes, follow me,” Hueso replies wearily and leads them through the apartment. It’s small but rather nicely decorated with ornaments on counters, family pictures and portraits hanging on the wall, and soft rugs along the hardwood floor. It’s a complete contrast from the dilapidated building it resides in.

“How come you’ve never asked us to babysit before?” Raph asks.

“Because you are terrible influences,” Hueso replies simply.

“What?” the boys scoff.

“If my usual babysitter had not cancelled last minute, you would not be here,” he adds, “but I must tend to the restaurant, so I have no other option.”

Down the short entrance hallway they arrive to the living room/ kitchen. Sitting on the floor in front of the small television is a little skeleton boy in a green hoodie and yellow baseball cap.

“Mijo,” Hueso says, “come meet your babysitters.” The boy quickly stands up, smiling excitedly.

“Hueso Jr, this is Leo, Raph, Donnie, Mikey, and Casey.”

A couple of bad timeline hcs that I have:

- Right from the beginning, Leo raises Hueso Jr as his son/little brother.

- Hueso Jr and Casey Jr are basically brothers and menaces to the resistance

TW: death. Also it's sad

- Hueso and Splinter both die pretty much immediately after the invasion starts, and Draxum only comes out of the Hidden City (he's helping there) if there is an emergency. This means that not only are the turtles literal kids that have to form and lead a resistance against an alien invasion, they also don't have any guidance or comfort from parental figures/someone they look up to :D

Just a little info dump about every relations here :D

Yummi & señor huaso: they get along quite well, he’s always free to give her advice on something if she asks. she even worked at his restaurant at the age of 14 for couple of months- although her work ethics were a bit to forwarded or to aggressive in-front of customers that gave him some trouble later- they grow even closer afterwards :>

Yummi & Draxum: (It might sound a bit vague cause their relationship is an important part of my story and I don’t want to spoil anything to much yet)

Draxum is rather cold towards Yummi in the beginning (for reasons I can’t say a the moment-) he’s not terrible to her or anything, but he prefers not to engage with her. but sadly for him- he falls for the cute face trick eventually- but it takes a long time for him to fully except her. And after some serious plot shenanigans happens- the two will form more close relationship.

Yummi & Splinter: she’s the first granddaughter- so you bet she got so much attention from him- especially after reflecting on his life, Splinter wants to avoid doing the same mistakes he did long ago with his sons, and sort of try to redeem him self with being a the best grandpa.

He’s was only one who called her by the nickname “little Teal”, and the meaning behind it is sort of- Teal is a greenish blue color, and because she’s sort of like Leo’s daughter she gets a color that a bit similar to him :>

Eventually her main color becomes pink though- but the Teal color will always make an appearance in someway :>

Leo getting hit with a truth curse but instead of forcing him to admit to super sad or worrying things it’s things like “it was me who broke the remote” “I saw Mikey prank Donnie and helped hide it because it’s way funnier if he didn’t know who it was” “I rip my clothes to look more like Raph’s because he’s really cool” “my stripes aren’t even red they’re pink!”
