and you are a handful

I mean c'mon, it's one thing to have a dumb kid or a misbehaved kid or something like that

but when your third grade teacher calls him away from work to pick you up because your "science experiment" blew up the playground

He knows he's dealing with something starkly different

You'd always been a fast one, learning to read before many kids were learning to talk.

Cecil didn't mind much, i mean it made the rough years difficult but you also weren't hurt too badly by his absences

You were a thorough latchkey kid, minding your home mostly by yourself, with Cecil only blocking out enough time to eat dinner with you, check your homework, and have a quick conversation as he put you to bed

and as you got older, and naturally skipped a grade or two or three and began to involve yourself with the local robotics team-- MIT but whose keeping track?-- and holding a steady internship with them, Cecil didn't need to tuck you in

So you grew up largely unsponsored, with Cecil being present in.... other.... ways.

For example, Cecil had a large budget and he used this to his advantage

Every year Cecil would record you a build a bear with his voice as a kid, and even into your teen years

He face timed you every day you got home from school, and made sure to keep diligent contact with your teachers

He's nothing if not attentive

His whole job is to babysit superheroes, it'd be sad if he couldn't take care of his own kid

You've probably got a really boring middle name, if you have one at all, and you've got your mothers surname

It's a little thing he couldn't bring himself to change, even though it would be easy with his power and influence.

Maybe he missed your mother, and maybe you looked a little more like her every day

he's the kind of dad who shows up for parent career day, and pretends his job is some bullshit desk job in national defense or whatever

He's pretty strict about things like boys and going out, but you're usually too busy re-wiring cyborgs or helping Rudy with his own personal projects

Summary: your princess(or partner if you wanna be boring) is a streamer, a popular one at that. this is a fic about: how their chat finds out that you are dating, how they treat you off-stream and on-stream/do they treat you differently

Fu Xuan

How chat found out: it should be pretty easy for anyone to find out if im going to be completely honest. as she is both a bragger and a complainer.

if you had done something, anything, that she didnt like or just thought was stupid, she was going to lovingly complain about it to her following. and yes, this also applies to everything and everything you accomplish.

so uhm, lets just say she also sees no reason to keep such things a secret unless you begged her to not mention your relationship(she would still end up talking abt it at some point).

but luckily her chatters are nice and like you. but they definitely how Fu Xuan pulled you, they do not see the vision of how she did that

On-Stream: she herself does not see any difference in how she treats you whether she is streaming or not. her viewers however, very much see a difference to when you are with her or not

"Fu Xuan seems nicer with [name] around", "Xuan's eyes seems to light up just a little whenever [name] is around", this was not known to her until her following started chatting about this online

her face was unusually red when she read a message about her being soft for you on stream

Off-Stream: she, kissed you more, maybe even more affectionate in general, since she just doesnt like her whole life being online and thinks its unhealthy and dumb.

she is also just way too into you for her to want to share you with the random people watching her on a tuesday afternoon.

and you accidentally called her 'love' while walking in

oh she was so red, and it did not help that she was on a call with aventurine and he heard everything

On-Stream: honestly, couldn't care less about what her following thinks, although she does get embarrassed.

she will hug you she will kiss you.

she will do whatever she wants to do, but is extra shy when Jade is around and watching.

and despite what she say and does, if you ever kissed her infront of the camera she would combust and melt into a little puddle

while numby is just innocently eating her little meal beside you two

Off-Stream: doesnt let go of you unless she actually has to get up and do something without you

loves hugging you, and especially with numby cuddling up with you both

kisses you more and it feels like you're kissing for longer, but this is just your observations

How chat found out: are you kidding? you really dont know? he doesnt stop fucking talking about you

he's playing another gacha game? oh this character kind of looks like [name], i should totally get them

irl stream? he's getting distracted left and right because he saw something that you would like

just on a call with his friends? talking about how pretty you are left and right

he just doesnt stop, there was no way you weren't going to appear on camera at some point

On-Stream: kisses you a lot just for just existing

chat thought it was cute in the start but now its more like when does he stop omfg

hugs you a lot and makes you sit on his lap while he gambles, saying that you bring him more luck

will still not stop bragging about how amazing you are, even when you're just sitting next to him on your phone

Off-Stream: still does not shut up about you, and is still very affectionate

but he is a little more touchy when people arent watching, still wanting you for himself in one way or another

he likes showing you off, but he also values his private life when he isnt the popular streamer Aventurine, being watched by thousands of people

How chat found out: one word, Kafka.

this is the only possible way other than you yourself walking in to see him streaming and you happen to be on camera.

Kafka, Silver Wolf, and Firefly is the only reason his following knows that he even has a love life to begin with. they talk more about you than he does! betrayer!!

but seriously, Kafka loves to talk about you two to her own viewers as well, even getting Blade to correct her because you can bake, and is very good at it

On-Stream: he doesnt talk about you, this may seem concerning but i assure you he's just shy. if he talked about you on stream it was because they girls made him talk about you.

but he just likes his private life, alright? he also strictly told Kafka to not tell them anything bad about or her head will be on a platter

but no matter, you can go kiss him yourself if you want to, he cant do anything to you

or he will die mentally and hopefully physically

Dani roused from her sleep to see forests rushing passed and the sun beginning to dip behind them. The world was bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun and she basked in its beauty. This was why she loved traveling. The beauty, the freedom, the fun.

She turned to Danny to see none of those things. He was gaunt and rigid. Eyes pinned to the road in tense silence as they drove way too many miles over the speed limit. 

“Did you die die?” Dani asked, poking his cheek. He felt clammy. That probably wasn't good. Dani didn't feel great either. Tired and saggy, like all her muscles had deflated.

Danny just grunted in response. That was VERY not good. No Danny banter meant Danny really HAD died.

“So is this a drive to heaven or to hell?” She asked. Danny snorted. That was a good sign.

“Gotham.” He grumbled. It sounded forced, like it hurt to say. Dani frowned.

“So hell it is. Why are we going there?” Danny remained silent and his face fell into a scowl. “You’re doing a pretty good Batman impression but that doesnt tell me why we are going to meet him.”

“We are not meeting batman. We are going to Jazz” Danny said.

“Ooh, better than batman!” Dani playfully punched her arms in the air and Danny winced. Dani noticed but didn’t comment as she went to grab his phone. It was cracked slightly and was full of messages and calls from Sam and Tucker. Notably, it didn't have any directions pulled up.

“Do you know where you’re going?” Danni asked. Danny moved for the first time, shifting uncomfortably.

“...No.” He muttered as he kept his eyes on the road. Dani rolled her eyes at him and started looking through his phone, she had learned his password ages ago and as much as he threatened to change it on her, he never did. Though that might have been more forgetfulness than endearment but Dani would interpret it as she wished.

“You are so bad at road trips.” She said as she connected his phone to the aux cord and pulled up directions to Gotham. They still had almost nine hours to drive and the sun was only getting lower. “There is a rest stop about an hour from here. We can rest there for the night.”

Danny didn't look too pleased at the idea but he knew they didn't have any money for a motel and he couldn't drive the entire night. He didn't want to stop driving so soon though. Moving helped dull the pain.

“Are there any further rest stops?”

“Hmm… Theres one about three hours from us?and then another at the six hour mark. We could stop there for lunch tomorrow.” Dani said. Danny grumbled but nodded. He didn't want to stop at all tomorrow. Stopping for the night felt like too much, let alone pausing midway through the drive tomorrow.

The rest of the drive was Dani playing music and chatting away. Chipping away at Danny’s panicked and suffering walls until he finally relaxed into their usual banter. She played eye-spy and when she got bored of that she played twenty questions. When Danny chose a water bear as his animal she gave up on that too. They devolved into silly arguments about how water bears shouldn't be allowed or how it wasn't fair that Dani kept picking things Danny couldn't see in eye-spy. 

As the sky darkened and the car’s headlights came on they fell into an easy silence. Danny still hurt but it was better and Dani’s core was humming comfort at him which helped.

Dani was half asleep when they pulled into the rest stop. The lights still on but the cafes and restaurants, closed or closing. She woke up fully when Danny moved to look through the back seat. Shuffling through whatever he had thrown back there and forgotten about. 

Gloves, a box of tissues, an empty tote bag and an old backpack he used before he bought a new one. It had a gum packet in it and a pen but nothing else. Groaning, he went and opened the trunk, a black scorch mark from where it had been hit earlier that day. He had camping gear for when he went stargazing. A tent, blankets, portable stove and a lighter, gas for the stove, a pocket knife, a mess kit. He was rummaging through when Dani popped up beside him.

“You got twenty dollars in your phone case.” She said and Danny jerked up hitting his head on the trunk door. He rubbed his head and whacked Dani’s shoulder while she laughed, he was smiling but he wouldn't admit it.

He grabbed his phone from the car and Dani closed the trunk, whistling at the damage.

“Who did that?” She asked, eyeing the marks on the car.

“Some fruitloops after a kidnapped ghost.” Danny said.

“Kidnapped? Me? How awful.” She said, putting her hand up and pretending to swoon.

“You’re right. The poor kidnappers.” Danny laughed and Dani rolled her eyes. She punched him in the side playfully and he hissed in pain. 

They both paused and Dani poked his side and he winced.

“Are you ok?” She asked. He hasn't seemed that injured when he was driving.

“Yeah, just a bit tender.” Danny joked. Dani stared at him, waiting for a better answer than that and Danny sighed. “Leaving Amity was harder than I thought it would be.” Dani still didn't really understand but Danny looked like he would rather be sick than answer her and she really didn't want him to be sick in front of her. 

“Do you want to get food?” she asked and Danny gave her a thankful smile before nodding. 

They grabbed a snack each, bbq chips and oreos,  and a bottle of water to share. Dani nicked a portable charger and some jerky while Danny was in the bathroom and then they headed back out to the door. When they were back in the car Dani pulled out the portable charger and plugged in Danny’s phone.

“Where did you get that?” He asked, eyeing it incredulously. It definitely didn't look under twelve dollars and thats all they had left after the snacks.

“Same place we got the rest of this stuff.” She said dropping the rest of the snacks and jerky between them. Danny noted the extra snack but just rolled his eyes. They ate but Danny kept the jerky for the next day and then he pulled out the blankets from his trunk. 

Snuggled up, with their cores harmonizing, they fell asleep. 

The car shook and a bang followed by the crunching and scraping of metal woke them up. Danny shot up, the sky just starting to lighten, face meeting with the barrel of an anti-ecto gun. He lunged to the side. The headrest of his seat was evaporated and Dani sent out her own ecto blast. The attacker was forced back into the white van that was ramming them and they could hear some colourful words through their panic. Danny jammed the key into the ignition and turned it, the engine roaring to life. Shrieking metal filled their ears as the forced the vehicles apart and booked it out of the parking lot. The road bumps sending pieces of glass flying as Danny realized his window had been smashed during the attack. The back seat window seemed cracked but still intact and the windscreen had a spider web fracture but was holding up. His core shuddered at the damage but the pain was overridden by the need to protect Dani. 

He glanced over and saw a very shellshocked young ghost shaking in the passenger seat. She probably used too much ectoplasm in that blast. Neither of them were recovered enough and even with harmonizing he wasn't sure they would be able to recover enough to take another attack. He shook his head and focused on driving.

It took some maneuvers and some, maybe a lot, of speeding to lose the GIW but they managed. Dani pulled up directions and turned on whatever music she could find.

They spent the next few hours staring out their respective windows. Dani didn't like it. She didn't like the silence or the stress or the way her body shook in fear and exhaustion. Road Trips were supposed to be fun.

Danny didn't speak. His core was barely humming, barely responding to her, as they drove. It wasn't until the low gas symbol popped up on the dash that he said anything and of course it was just another curse. Dani was getting fed up with Danny’s shrinking vocabulary. 

She didn't say anything as she added a new stop to the directions, the closest gas station. Maybe a part of her was hoping her grumpiness would get Danny to snap out of whatever grump he was experiencing. Probably not a reasonable or healthy way to handle the situation, if you asked someone like Jazz, but Dani didn't ask Jazz. 

Danny didn't seem to notice though. He pulled into the gas station and turned off the car. His core buzzing with panic as he set up the gas pump and slumped against the car with a groan of pain. Dani frowned and poked her head out of the car. He looked pale, too pale. They were in their human forms, he shouldn't be that pale. At least she didn't think so. Though maybe she wasn't an expert on normal human medicine.

The gas pump beeped and Danny dragged himself up to remove the pump and go into the gas station. Dani suddenly worried about how they would pay, they had filled the tank up to full and that couldn't be cheap. 

Danny stumbled and fell into someone by the gas station entrance, a big guy with tattoos in a tank top, jeans and were those cowboy boots? Danny apologized and the guy shoved him, making him stumble again. Dani almost flew out of the car at him before she noticed a flash of dark leather in Danny’s hand.

No way.

The big tough guy waved him off and went back to smoking as Danny went inside and paid with a wallet he had most definitely not had five minutes ago. Danni stared at her basically brother, slacked jawed, as he casually dropped the wallet back into the guys pocket with some intangibility and then hurriedly slipped back into the car. His face was hard and he glared forward as he started the car.

“Did you just-?” Dani started, her excitement at her brother's newfound skills making her bounce in her seat. 

“No. Dont. Talk about it.” He cut her off, jaw set. She stilled in her seat and went back to pouting. When she vibrated her core at him he didn't even respond. She felt her core freeze at the lack of reaction and she tried again. There was a thump of something and Danny grunted but that was it. That was all that she got. Dread curled in her stomach as she stared at the road in front of her. 

They drove on and Dani didn't even mention the second rest stop they were supposed to stop at and Danny didn't either. There wasn't even music and the silence was only occasionally broken by a pained breath from Danny or an attempted hum from Dani’s core. It was a painful drive and Dani tried to sleep to help time passed. It worked partially, she slept fitfully for about twenty minutes each rest but it helped her heal. By the time they had found themselves in the midmorning traffic into Gotham she was feeling much more herself.

Danny looked worse and his arm trembled from being kept in a tense position for so long. A thin sheen of sweat covered him and Dani opened to her mouth to say something only to slam it shut at the waves of panic suddenly rolling off Danny. 

The car had rolled to a stop as the traffic came to a standstill. Thankfully they were in the slowest lane and there was a hard shoulder on their right but it did little to comfort Danny’s mounting panic. He didn't want to stay still, he couldn't, they were in danger and needed to keep moving. 

“Hey, are you-” Dani was interrupted by an explosion. They both spun to see billows of smoke about twenty cars back and a familiar white van barreling down the hard shoulder. Danny sucked in a breath of air and hit the gas as he swerved into the hard shoulder himself. He pressed on the gas as they went, coming up on a motorcycle attempting to skip traffic. Dani reached over Danny’s shaking arms and slammed on the horn as they gained on the man in red. He glanced back and barely managed to crash out of the way before they ran him down. As they zoomed passed the poor guy Dani looked out her window to give him an apologetic wave. His helmet was weirder when she saw it close up, less like a motorcycle helmet and more like a mask but for his whole head. She gave him a wave and he stared after them. The white van careening after them and obstructing her view. 

Danny followed the hard shoulder until it turned to grass and he kept going. The grass turned into a ditch and he grit his teeth as he maneuvered his beloved car to keep going. Thankfully the car, even turned at an almost forty five degree angle still kept going, if only slower than he would have liked. The white van on the other hand, hit the ditch and flipped, crashing to a halt behind them. Dani watched people crawl out of the van and try to chase after them but even going slowly their car was still faster. Though a lucky shot shattered the back window.

They pulled the car back into traffic, receiving honks and rude gestures before they went deeper into the murky city. It was only another few minutes of driving before Danny found an empty, unkempt parking lot to stop in. He shot out of the car and ripped the back seat door off its hinges trying to get the backpack he had back there. Dani grabbed his phone, the leftover cash, portable charger, and jerky before joining him behind the car as he stuffed his knife, lighter and a blanket into his bag. She offered her stuff and he opened the bag for her. As soon as everything was in he zipped it shut and went to pick Dani up.

“Woah! No! You’re not carrying me. I can walk just fine.” She said, glaring at Danny as he looked back at her. His eyes didn't seem totally focused and she grabbed his hand instead. “If you need to hold on to me so bad you can hold this. Now lets go.” And she was off, dragging a clearly not ok Danny behind her. 

Did she know where she was going? No, but she would figure it out. Unlike Danny, she was used to finding places to sleep in unfriendly and unfamiliar cities. She could recognize safe places to stay. At least she was pretty sure she could.

favorite dates

pottery painting

yn loves pottery painting, she always has a million ideas, but her favorite things to paint are mugs. she will do one and oscar will do one

oscar doesnt mind pottery painting, hes not very artistic but he likes the biscuits the place makes. his favorite thing to paint are plates, he finds them the easiest to paint (which makes it fun in his opinion)

picnic dates

they both love picnic dates, they both like different parts of the date but each date follows the same routine.

the day before they go shopping and prep some food, morning of the date they make either sandwiches or pasta. then they walk to their spot, the lake, and settle under an oak tree

the rest of the date follows a pattern of eating food, reading books and playing with eachothers hair (yn loves putting flowers into oscars hair, he happily lets her)

cooking/baking dates

cooking dates honestly dont happen a lot, yn and oscar dont argue a lot, but trying to cook when neither party are very good is extremely stressful and often ends in sulking (which is solved very quickly, neither can stay mad at the other for long)

baking dates however, are something they both love. yn loves finding new treats to bake and oscar loves making his grandmothers recipes. these dates dont happen enough, due to oscars meal plan (i mean who would want to have a baking date and not eat what they make?!) but when they do they have a lot of fun

bookshop dates

now yn loves reading but hates choosing books, even though she has a whole tbr list she find the whole process of picking one long and boring (which is actually a lie, she just finds it difficult to pick just one)

so they came up with a fun solution, oscar picks her books. these dates might seem strange to some but for them its fun! they go to their favorite bookstore, oscar having yns tbr list and a list of her favorite books, and they start browsing

typically their date will start with them both looking at books, before yn ends up just admiring oscar as he browses. she loves how concerntrated he gets, its so lovely to her, seeing how much he cares. he always searches so carefully, sometimes picking books from her list and other times picking ones he thinks she’ll love (spoiler she always loves the books he picks, he has amazing taste)

dinner dates

they love dinner dates, both lunch and dinner. they have a favorite restaurant and very rarely branch out. they both enjoy dressing up but prefer lowkey restaurants, they werent the fancy type.

dinner dates were the most common dates for them, they were easy to plan if they were away for oscars races, but were also good to plan last minute

they both loved italian so if they werent home and couldnt go to their favorite restaurant, they’ll find a (usually) family owned place to eat and while they rarely branch out restaurant wise, they both love to try new foods, so its not all bad

movie dates

pretty self explanatory, but they swap who picks each time. and whoever doesnt pick, gets to choose the snacks (which is usually either ice cream or popcorn). these dates are some of their favorites, just getting to relax and spend time with their person

these are also the dates that happen most on race weeks (other than dinner dates) as theyre easy to set up in a hotel room and help oscar sleep a lot (which is extra good on race weeks!!)

i think the thing that interests me the most about homelander is 10000% the fact that hes redeemable and likable just because of the fact of how much he loves the people he loves and how much he needs to be loved by them. like that makes him SO interesting to me, and the more we discover about him the more his insanity makes sense. the fact that nobody ever in his life saw him as any other than a product or a message or a pennant but never a HUMAN, and the fact that he himself doesnt want to see himself as a HUMAN when he so clearly is because all of this!!! the fact that hes gets so pathetically obsessed with any woman that shows him some love and attention, even if its fake! the way he refused to kill maeve because a part of him genuinely loves her still, the fact that when annie kissed him for the fake dating thing he was genuinely GENUINELY into it, and not in a sexual way. he fucking SMILED into the kiss??????? 'i'm glad you're here'???????????? the way stormfront never gave him any genuine show of affection, when it was clearly all about the sex and the power she had over him and he still didnt see it because he was so glad there was a woman who was willingly giving him what he understood as affection (that for her was just sex) idk i just feel like theres something so innocent about his character that the rest of the guys in the boys dont have - which is a clear reflection of how traumatized he was in the lab, how he never quite understood how to navegate his emotions as a grown up and develop actual self love. he loves homelander, but does he love john? everyone loves homelander, but who loves john? im obsessed. and i love how this spills into things that men who stan him actually would never accept or understand- like the fact that he doesnt even care about looks, he doesnt even care about his own supposed ideals where he considers supes superior to humans. he doesnt even care about loyalty!!!! otherwise hed loved firecracker. he simply wants a woman who will love him, really love him, like nobody ever loved him in his life. (and if you think about it thats soooooooo tragic. imagine not even having parents that love you... not even your own fucking child!!!! despite you doing everything to make him not have to go through what you went through!!!! despite giving him your undivided attention- even when youre one of the most important people in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and by the way, im really glad they didnt go for a super easy and predictable storyline where sister sage would pretend she loves him to manipulate him- because that would have been incredibly boring. and one last thing: this is soooo silly and petty but this is why the single most infuriating and insufferable thing in the fandom is the way men stan him, because in universe, theyd literally be the kind of people homelander would fucking hate LMFAOOOO because they ignore all of these essential parts of his character because they are too busy wankin over ashley look at me

Headcannon time

Just a warning for some, but I wanted to do more of my au accurate headcannons, but it shouldn't be too bad. I told yall before I hate one-sided, but I also love a good horror character, so I tried to keep a good balance. Just wanted to show my characters for who they are in actuality

Willie: full name William Ray Grossman.

Age: 26

5.11ft says he's 6.2ft lol

Drives a red 1991 Ford ranger

Works as Jack's errand boy. Has had a body or two in the back of his truck bed(adults only William doesnt like to harm kids so he stays out of it) hasnt killed anyone, but Jack makes him bring victims to him when he's bored.

Lives in an old farmhouse given to him by his grandpa's in his will. Everything in that house remains the same and untouched. The only room that's been updated was his old bedroom when he would speed the night and watch Michael Bay movies. Has also spent time at Jack's carnival for a few.

Is always carrying a gun at his waist. You don't know who could be lurking in those woods and he ain't about to be fucked with. He already lost one loved one he ain't going out the same way.

Uses photography to help clear his mind. Used to go to college but left due to Jack targeting his classmates. Had his eye on a certain girl but felt that it was best if he had just stayed away before Jack noticed her. Thinks about her every once in awhile, believes she was going in to be a nurse.

He loves Jack like he was his own grandfather, but Jack has never admitted to caring for him (not to his face at least....) Jack has always looked sad to him when he's alone working. Not a giggle or a smile to be seen on him even when dismembering a corpse. It's just so strange and out of character for this energetic psychopath to just be so...sober.Jack is only killing cause of someone else? Is this behavior only a facade?

Favorite foods: everything and anything you could stuff inside or on top of a grill. Melinda's hot sauce and a bucket of ranch make everything better 👌. He makes alot of King of the Hill quotes, and yes, he does the voices too....

I'm sorry to say this but he believes that just standing in the shower is enough to clean him.... most certainly has 3 in 1 soaps sitting inside of his shower....

Patents were an interspecies couple, which was a big no no back in the day between humans and "monsters." They were part of the hippie movement back in the 1960s, traveled alot protesting that those from the underworld were people too, and unfortunately many were shot for their beliefs. Frankie was born in 1968 and was put into foster care as a child. He never stayed in just one house but found himself being trafficked into the underworld with no one in the system looking for him. His case got swept under the rug as he was forgotten. No baby Boi was not s*x trafficked but was sold and bought as meat. Children in orphanages are easy targets for hungry residents of the underworld, so unfortunately, many go missing. Frankie was special tho, he was gonna be sold for a pretty penny after finding out about his special ability but before the traffickers could take him to get auctioned off the van was ambushed by a mob, killing everyone but Frankie. The leader was an older woman who was looking for her daughters but only found him alive. Her cold heart moured the loss of her daughters, but it also ached, knowing the pain that lil boy went thru when she saw his little hands covered in blood. A real mother's heart cries for all children, and she felt the need to take him in.

Yeah, Frankie gets taken in by a mob leader in the underworld. He learns how to fight and be excellent with gun. He becomes a bounty hunter when he gets older to help track down and protect kids who were trafficked in the meat trade. He made it his duty to find them when the police wouldn't. Donates money and gifts to kids in orphanages.

At first, he was gonna kill Willie due to his ties in the past kidnappings. Became friends later when bonding over a few beers, Willie sometimes cries over stupid things when hes drunk and acts really goofy. Frankie was at first upset about finding his lil acts cute so he argues with himself about it. Pulled a gun out on Willie while his back was turned but just couldn't do it after hearing Will start talking about how his pa would take him fishing on rainy days. Defeated Frankie lowers the gun and listens to Will finish up his story. Months later, he still wonders why he works for Jack. Such a sweet boy doesn't deserve to be used by such a monster.

Drives an Oldsmobile Delta 88. Idk I always loved that car from Evil Dead.

Works on taxidermy along with other arts and crafts in his free time. He's like leather face turning people into cozy home decor.

He hates being alone, so he keeps Willie around. Ma guy has a list of abilities and trades he can perform. He's a whole circus in one, he's the strongman, the contortionist, lion tamer, mind reader, he's the best clown and entertainer you'll ever witness, it's sad that he never got to host a show....

Secretly a sweetheart and Romantic, likes trying to serenade Alex with his accordion. Horse gruff voice used to have a really sweet voice(have yall ever heard of the song Farytale by Alexander Rybak that's what he sounded like before)

Hygiene is eh...his soap of choice is Dr Bronners 18 in 1 castile soap....Alex had to throw it out and buy him some actual shampoo and soap, but it didn't matter in the end cause he just ended up using her soap. Hers smells better he says

Isn't a great fighter, be manages to get into alot of trouble. Resourcefulness is a great skill to have when you have chicken wings for arms.

Awww Konstantin was a true knight and shining armor to rescue his poor prince. So they make their run for it, it's strange that this man knows where he's going through the long hallways of the Cult but they eventually get to the rooftop and Konstantin takes in the most beautiful stary sky he has ever seen...then get snatched by what felt like a gaint bird. Icarus was ready to go ain't got no time for star gazing Lover Boy. It's not all smooth sailing but that's all you get to know.

Thinking abt a "10 years later" kind of deal where Mithrun's canary squad comes to visit him and they tease him kindly about how much he's changed (he smiles a lot, he's a bit chubby, he's really domestic w/ kabru, he has an eye prosthetic that actually fits,he's very kind to them) and Fleki almost starts crying because she's so emotional about seeing Mithrun happy and recovering and she's like "i'm sorry we tease you so much, I'm sorry we were so mean to youuuu we should have been nicer 😭 you kept us safe and we didn't even care" and Mithrun is like "I know, Fleki, it's ok. You all kept me safe too and I'm grateful for that" and he invites them for a nice dinner at his and Kabru's home and they talk about how the queen doesn't really know what to do with the former canary prisoners so she's been trying to pair them off with their wardens to just have normal lives which has been going...... not completely great

So their Melini visit goes by and at the end of it, Mithrun asks Fleki if she'd like to stay with them and he tells her it's ok if she doesnt want to because it will be boring and he'll expect her to behave herself and she'd be seperating from Lycion (her bestie/ emotional support whore) and she cries and is grateful and has to think about it but she comes to say yes because being an socially outcast elf is a hard and long life and her future back there is so uncertain and Mithrun and Kabru have enough faith in her to offer her a place in their home and lives and she never thought anyone would ever give her that much credit again.

So, it's not always easy (i can imagine her getting on Kabru's nerves a bit) but she keeps Mithrun company when Kabru is away on business and that's very important to Kabru. Senshi comes around from time to time and teaches her how to cook so she makes meals for their house. She of course still has her crow familiar and is good with other larger birds of prey (she could get into falconing as a hobby) and Lycion comes to visit every once in awhile and theyre still close.

I watched house as a kid too (when I was 14, like 10 yrs ago) and hated her for being contrarian and inconsistent and in the way. I know you’re still on season 1 and Yes she Gets Worse but if you are working with the same lens as i am (that there’s something WRONG with her) then everything that happens makes sense. [spoilers] Of course youre only attracted to people when they’re sick and dying. Of course your reaction to being told youre boring is getting high on your patient’s drugs a few weeks away from your HIV test results. Of course you wanted to cheat on your dying husband with his best friend who comforted you while your husband was dying but you didn’t and you still haven’t after the fact he died. Of course you kept your dead husband’s sperm. Of course you wanted to kill a dictator but didnt, and then got pissed at your husband who Did kill him, a husband you actually felt nothing for and was hesitant to even let propose to you [/end spoilers] she’s so funny. If she were a guy they’d call her a messy bitch and love her for it. she has uncategorizable mental illnesses masking as a savior complex.

Number 3, you’re right about the emptiness on some level though. They wanted to write her out of the show and they did her so bad. And I’d say yeah she’s inconsistent as a character, but that goes for Everyone in this show. House isn’t consistent. Wilson isn’t consistent. None of them are consistent. Cameron is only as well-written as the writer who knows how to write her. I’ve suspected the only reason i hated her when I was 14 was she got in the way of hilson. But nowadays that stuff is so unserious to me. All i care about now is messy people being messy about other people

Number 4, she compels me. I like that she’s interesting. I don’t like most of her decisions, I disagree with her the most, but it’s interesting. She’s fun to Watch. She’s no Foreman (that guy is a case study in layers of character depth but that’s for another ramble) but that’s more than i can say for her than someone like, say, Chase LMAO

That being said if you dont like cameron then that’s fine 👍 we live in a society etc etc

put some respect on her name AND her issues.

dude. even if nothing else. their vocals. oh my god. their vocals are SO GOOD. ICHIKA IDK MUCH ABOUT YET BUT HER VOCALS MAKE HER AN EASY FAV FOR ME.

kohane is actually very very nicely written to be a supportive character for the rest of the group, and fulfills the role very well. she actually had a lot of growth, and its not the "introvert->extrovert" type shit. its her genuinely gaining confidence in herself, and alongside that confidence in her place in VBS, which in turn helps out her friends. its very nice but ppl dont recognise it so much bec its subtle

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

All of them have such distinct qualities that can make drawing them super fun, and I'd love to know who your favs/least favs are!

Mine tend to flip-flop alot, but lately Anya, Jimmy and Swansea are my favs to draw; I like drawing Anya's down-turned eyes, Jimmy's flat expression and Swansea's neck folds!

For least favorite, I find Curly and Daisuke the hardest to draw, not so much in terms of body type but in terms of their faces? They look like impersonators instead of the actual characters when I try lol

hmmmm i think right now my favorite character to draw would have to be jimmy, hes just really easy to draw, lots of straight lines. and i do enjoy drawing jimmy's acting. theres also an added bonus that when i do draw jimmy ppl get heated enough to leave tags or replies and its fun to see reactions.

after that is swansea. love to draw that sloppy old man. always enjoy drawing a fat guy. hes also really easy to draw as well. ranked under jimmy bc i dont have as strong as a hold on drawing his acting so it doesnt come out as easily.

curly is third on default, but hes basically tied with anya. his hair is annoying to draw alskdfasdkl. but hes got a nice body to draw, i do like muscles. hate drawing his stupid lil popped collar tho. i hate drawing that on jesse (my oc) and i hate drawing that on curly

anya is next bc shes just sliiightly more annoying to draw than curly, even if i like drawing her better. her hair is even more difficult to draw and pretty much is the reason shes so low, but her face and eyes are really fun to draw. i think its funny that shes the only character with big expressive eyes to draw and its really fitting to her. and i like drawing her acting and hands too. once i figure out how to draw her hair easily its over for yall

after that is post crash curly which like. hes easy to draw but i dont particularly like drawing him. hes kind of boring to draw bc there isnt much acting to draw with him. cant even emote with him, gestures are basically not used either. his whole point is that he doesnt communicate and doesnt react for the most part so theres not much to work with.

my least favorite to draw would sadly have to be daisuke, i just havent figured out how i want to draw him yet, so his face, his hair, his build...pretty much everything. i draw him and its like. augh that doesnt Look right. like you said its like an impersonator rather than the real guy. and then theres his hawaiian shirt details. so many details to not draw LOL

On your 80s Curse of Strahd campaign. Which character is the most drastically different from their canon counterpart, and what system did you use?

(ill save you the disappointment and rip the band-aid, im still fifth editions lil whipping Mspa Sprite, its easy and it serves the purposes of what i want from it.)

SO! a lot of the name characters have been mostly rewritten from what they were like from the original game-

Strahd: big lord of barovia. i wanted him to Feel Bored. the idea is that every time you play curse of strahd, strahd remembers it. every humiliating defeat, every overwhelming crushing victory, every time your character decided they could fix him- he has gone through it all in an ad-nauseam repeating loop that has slowly ripped him mind apart and then pieced it back together piece mail. to the point where in this specific loop, in which time has been allowed to advance to a point where it resembles 80s Americana- he welcomes the players eagerly, awaiting the hunt. death for him has become a welcomed sign for rest in a moment of true oblivion. he also became a rock star and completely shed the vestiges of nobility. resulting in the ongoing joke - "Strahd? The Rock Star?" whenever someone attempts to talk about strahd in a way that's a little to reverent.

which i mean... that's a lot of how draculas brides are depicted... anyways i gave the wives a overhall and give them all special power sets. volenta can create bugs, her body can be swapped with bug parts which is fun. ludmilla is a god damn Genius, and anestrasya is a silver screen starlet with memory based abilities. (as in she can swap things with aspects of how they were remembered and a bit more but that's a special tool for later). all three are also - oops, is that one of my players i see trying to sneak a fucking peak? Back to the fucking dungeon with you, go on, Get! -

Personality wise;

Volenta: i made her autistic. oh you need more? i hate the idea of her acting like a Harley quinn knock off, i am sure far better dms then me can Swing it but baby i am bad at disco and when i swing my hips, there are concerning noises~<3. so i toned down her personality. she is still Vary Intense but Vary Goal oriented. i gave her things that she hyper fixates on, i made her Obsessive, i made it so that when she has an emotional misunderstanding, it can be Deadly because i think thats a more fun character.

Anastrasya: oh baby the camera loves her no matter how many times she fake her death and changes her social security number. i made her the Excellent host, someone who can't help but to dazzle and please those around her. she trives when theirs someone around to make happy! All eyes on her if you Please. Notably one of the wives who finds drinking blood to be rather Fucking Nasty so she simply doesnt, she can, in fact she should, but she simply dosent.

Ludmilla: i think the pitfall of the most intelligent people is that they can See what is wrong but they are Screaming into a void. now, i think a intelligent persons pitfall in dungeons and dragons is that intelligence is a dumb stat. if you are Hot and Strong, you can get away with being a dumb sack'a bricks! and that's Deeply frustrating. is no one going to question how the laws of mass and energy are being Bent over and treated like the MC of a """Spicy""" Romance novel? no one gonna comment how mass conversion is getting treated simalierly? this world is a nightmare of rules and logic that refuse to fallow their own rules and logic and her own vast intelligence is stagnant because Who the fuck needs a brainiac when my Hot Fairy Soul keeper will let me burrow her nuke on the Weekend? I think that would Scare me on a fundamental level and every day after wards would be a fight for control over yourself even when their is no danger, a constant desperate need to prove your own will in hopes that no one can ever say you are not your Own. Also a player drew her!

Gertrude, Doru and Ismarck: I made them into a little bit of a Werid love triange. Ismarck Loves Doru (no confession) -> doru loves gertrude -> gertrude would love a hag if it said something intresting to her and talked to her long enough from her fucking apartment window.

after ireenas Vary Bad, Absolute Worst Date Ever with Russias david bowie- Ismarck and doru would lead a militia of barovias towns folk to kill the vampire of the castle, this would be known as the Cradle rebellion because it was led by idiot babies. doru before hand confessed her feelings to gertrude who jumped out of a 5 story buildings to join him (and run away from her psycho mother.). Now this is where it gets Really Silly. ismarck and doru make it down to the tombs of the castle where they and the rebellion get shit stomped by rahadin- Lmao skill diff- but Gertrude? in the charge, she got separated and wandered around the castle for so long that strahd ended up finding her. in which gertrude demanded his unconditional surrender. Strahd, baffled by what the fuck is going on because This just has never happened before, decided to appoint her as the barovian townships ambassador and has been keeping her prisoner until negotiations can begin. she belives that doru and ismarck are within the castle getting treated for wounds. They Are Not. doru has become a vampric vagabond after getting his blood lust supressed by the party and ismarck is dealing with the zombie apocalypse.

Gertrude is so god damn funny to me. in the book she just Left because she wants to bang strahd. thats absurd and hilarious. i love her. she deserves to be a part of every game of curse of strahd. her favorite books are howls moveing castle and shitty cheap monster romances. shes now in her own invented love triangle between her broken heroic knight boy friend and the dark mysterious vampiric master of the house.

ismarck is still white. i though it would be funnier to have him look like a surfer dude with a broadsword you can surf on. in another life he would be hanging ten and kissing dudes on the beach, shits so unfair man...

We dont see TOO much of them but I do feel like a lot of the other Destroyers are pretty reasonable or reachable people so they probably get along with their Angels pretty decently. They can communicate like adults.

But the angels always have to subtly mold themselves to fit the need of the Destroyers, so that they can communicate effectively. So they can speak the same language. This is easy for the ethereal angels, they dont lose themselves at all in this process, they just do what needs to be done.

Whis and Beerus can still communicate like adults but Beerus is also pretty scathingly immature at times and Whis has to deal with that. I do think that Beerus is a good Destroyer but well he also sucks, the story tells us that he's a shitty Destroyer becasue he's lazy. But he has the ability to COMPREHEND THE GRAVITY of his role. And he can act in a way that commands respect. Unlike Champa.

But Whis still has to nag Beerus sometimes. But it's not really NAGGING becasue Beerus really does not like to be nagged and it's less effective on him. He calls it nagging only becasue he hates so much anything that resembles it. Beyond nagging, he also has the skill and awareness by now to see through mind games and guilt trips. But also, that's why they work: "ok, I can see what you want, if you shut the hell up I'll consider it." He can see underneath to the root of it. So Whis doesnt REALLY have to play the snake with Beerus. He just has to say certain things and time them just right. He doesnt have to NAG or lie or anything. Beerus is reasonable enough. He just has to hear it once.

Meanwhile, Champa sucks unbelievably. I dont even know how he got the position. He's like a little boy playing Legos. Destroying the buildings only when he gets bored. I don't know if he even knows his job description. I don't know if he really feels what it means to be a Destroyer, and what a universe without one would look like. Sometimes he does seem to possess a flash of sincerity and wit, but IDK guys. I think that he's a shit Destroyer.

And Vados has to nag him. She has to. I don't think it's necessarily reasonable for us to assume that she has to just to get by, because we can't be assuming that angels have personal feelings that get in the way of their work; but also, maybe she does hate him, because he is very easy to hate.

But at any rate she treats him exactly how his character demands. You have to nag Champa because he fundamentally rejects things that feel like a chore and he won't see the merit of it or the privilege of the job, so you just have to annoy him until he does it. Vados has to do what's most effective.

And her hand is really being forced here. It's like that one ummmmmmmmmmmmm ok who was the youtuber ... I think they also did Starbomb? There was this one clippppp on the youtube where they randomly voice acted Mario amd Luigi, and Luigi was playing video games and shitting himself, and Mario was demanding that he get up and go to the bathroom. And Luigi was acting like Mario was the villain, "come on Mario just one more level!" as if leaving the video game would hurt so much, as if Mario had control over Luigi's current active shitting himself. It's like Luigi was just a victim to his own bodily functions and to the person who was demanding him to change.

And like You Can See how Mario was shoehorned into the villain role by somebody who chronically felt like they were the victim. Luigi was SHITTING HIMSELF ON THE COUCH... Mario's hand was forced ! He didnt WANT to have to take that tone with him, but what was he supposed to do ?!

That's what this is like. Vados is forced into a more antagonistic role by Champa's own immaturity. If he weren't like this, then she wouldn't have to nag him; they wouldn't be at odds and could instead work together.

I think that the concept of an angel attendant is really interesting because you have two people who Have To Work Together for so so so so so long. And I really like how they showed every angel's indifference in the Tournament of Power... just to keep it real

Writing down my thoughts while playing HI3 part 2 chapter 6:

Spoiler free TL:DR; What an absolute mess of a chapter. Were they just throwing things at a wall and seeing what stuck before trying to piece those things together into a chapter? At least it wasnt boring. I didnt have a lot of fun but the story kept moving forward, even if it went in circles sometimes.

Not sure how I feel about the flashback at the start of the chapter. Feels pointless unless its brought up, I just dont see why it would be brought up during this.

I really appreciate that Hoyo bothered to animate Theresa using the payphone. I know its not a hard ask, but boy they sure havent put much effort into dialogue animations for their other games

also im really starting to get tired of this "show us around every single place!" thing they've been doing. It just feels like, dont we have more important stuff to be doing than going on a tour? Like, the forward pace is a crawl. I miss when Kiana was investigating stuff in Arc City and we didnt need to go pick up a lockpick and some food from the local supermarket at the beginning of the chapter.

the armwrestling was really fun at first, but its really wearing out because theres literally no difference between them. I just spam B on my controller. For all 3 of them. Not even intensely. They were all as easy except the 3rd which wasnt a bar but I had to press B and... I already was. "Tap B to win" doesnt have much gameplay variation.

My god Coralie holds her attacks harder than Margit from Elden Ring does. The ding comes like a whole second earlier than her attack does and theres nothing like an adjustment of her wrist to react to before she launches her attack.

Very sudden Litost attempting murder. I didnt take him as the nicest of guys but this is certainly something to timeskip to.

also did I miss something or did Helia not have this helpless inferiority complex before? ... Did she fight Litost in the previous chapter, lost, and are only in Reimu because Coralie won? Am I remembering that correctly?

So Ajita is the evil Entropy person? At least this appearance of her? I dont see why she would appear and tp us away and then go "oh how sad, that girl you just saved is gonna die anyway". Is this Sparkle?

Yeah okay that 180 mood turn was 100% intentional.

Yeah Helia, I dont understand where this came from. This part of your character wasnt there before this chapter, and its not like there was a particulary long timeskip between chapters 5 and 6. I get what they are doing, its similar to Mei chasing after Kiana. But with Mei it was Kiana being kidnapped, HoV defeating her, chasing after her in Arc City, being pushed away by Kiana, having Durandal reach Kiana first and stopping Mei from getting her, chasing Kiana to Nagazora, doing everything she can to find and help Kiana, and Kiana still pushing Mei away and, finally, over the edge.

For Helia she lost to Listost, I think? in the previous chapter.

12. I want to replay chapters 5 and 6 of part 1... They did looping and fixing the timeline way better back then. Helia's inferiority complex came out of nowhere and is clearly a focus for this chapter, I bet she's gonna do something stupid to try and prove herself, where was this the last 5 chapters?, meanwhile at the same time I dont even know why the 32nd Ten Shus War is critical?

14. They're actually putting more than no effort into dialogue animations. I like it. They still havent fixed all characters turning around like a robot, but at least now there are about as many moments with good animations as there are moments with robot animation. Its an improvement!

15. Flashback chapter! Joy! Why does everyone have a sob story and why was this never hinted at before and why are they revealing it all now by thinking really hard about it? When Kiana had a flashback her dad pointed a gun at her. I sure hope that Helia's flashback wasnt just context for why she fainted upon seeing small Dudu.

17. How did we go from family sob stories to searching for traces of Litost? Did I miss like, a short transition scene?

18. WHERE IS THIS BEEF BETWEEN CORALIE AND HELIA COMING FROM?!?!?! Am I forgetting? Am I crazy? Or was there not this much beef between them before?? And before as in, THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER??? Yeah they had an argument but where did Helia's inferiority complex come from?? Am I crazy or has their dynamic shifted drastically from the previous chapter?

19. My issue with their beef and Helia's inferiority complex is that that part of Helia wasnt present or noticably before this point. And Im not really even sure what triggered it. Was it her loss to Litost? "Talentless and unhelpful" is about the exact opposite as what Coralie described her as. Yeah if Helia wanted to be the strongest and greatest Valkyrie there ever was, I can understand how being "just" an A-rank is an insult, but then the question remains: where did THAT part of her character come from? She wasnt trying to be the center of all fights and the victor at the top in previous chapters, right?

20. This is not the same Helia that we had in chapter 5. It cant be. This inferiority complex is a fucking massive part of her character and I didnt see any of it the last 5 chapters. Im scratching my brain trying to figure out if I missed anything or just wasnt paying attention to Helia enough.

This feels like a new character.

21. This is a new character. Im calling her massive-inferiority-complex Helia as long as she stays here (MIC Helia) since she has the same name as the Helia we had in chapters 1-5.

Everyone told her to keep trying and improving and be the best that she is, and her response was that its impossible for her to change and be anything except weak.

Then Entropy comes along and tells her that she doesnt know if its impossible for her to change and that she just have to keep trying and improving and... that worked?

24. Okay, while going around killing people feels in-character for Litost, him spouting "youre so weak, youre pathetic, youll never amount to anything" to Helia REALLY feels like "the writers are making him say this to push Helia to the edge"

Killing people feels on brand for Litost, but belittling them in length? I feel like he would've just said something like "see? youre too weak." and be done with it, but this man is on his 3rd page of insults to throw at Helia.

25. Not really a big fan of the whole "we will introduce a brand new aspect of a character this chapter and then solve it halfway through the same chapter" thing.

30. Litost is the most interesting character in part 2 so far. Like I still dont know the end goal of all this. I get that theyre doing it coz otherwise Laylah will kick them out if they go too off-script, and the Earth gang wants to find out why Kiana is sleepy, but like, I dont get the point of this whole simulation thing.

31. Genuinely the chapter could have basically started here after Chexue died in the past slice. Helia is back to what she was like before.

32. Azur flame sucks. Its tanky and has 2 attacks. Seriously? Honkai beasts has more effort put into them than this.

33. That's the 3rd time the mood is suddenly twisted into the opposite. Hi again Litost, thank you for always showing up on your own. We really didn't do much to find you at all. Ever. You literally just walk past us when we arent even trying.

34. We really just switched back to MIC Helia? I hoped I had seen the last of her! Seriously what is character development that last for more than 5 minutes?

35. So we just went from MIC Helia, to Helia, and then 5 minutes later back to MIC Helia having basically the same realisation as 5 minutes ago back to Helia, and now Coralie gets killed in the simulation and Helia is all emotional except, you know, its a simulation. Dramaqueens.

Dont tell me its back to MIC Helia again...

What a mess of a chapter. What's worse is that them killing of Coralie in one of the more bullshit, but also completely apathetic way for the rest of the characters - they really were about to just go straight back in. Ajita saves their progress, there is literally no rush. Mourning? Pssh, who cares?

Coralie's death is so random. If anything the chapter was setting up for Helia to die. The simulation being able to influence the real world wasn't even hinted at. Have one of the hologram girls lift a physical vase or something, at least that would have planeted the possibility! I could understand it if Coralie still felt pain and panic as she logged out from the wound she recieved in the simulation and had to recieve aid and be out of comission for a whie as she recovered, but "the doctors did everything they could..." really?

And again, they are just going to jump right back in? What writing decision is that? Yeah they'll have a meeting first but, again, what's the rush? Coralie is basically still in the emergency room. Not gonna take care of the body?

Im kinda not sad about her death, just because I find the writing choices around it kind of unbelieveable.

Like, what will Coralie's death bring that isnt Helia turning into MIC Helia AGAIN, or Helia having the same "I have to push forward" positivity thing that she has already had TWICE this chapter? The rest of the characters clearly dont care enough to even mourn Coralie's death. I guess they werent that close? I mean, they were inviting Helia to re-enter the simulation ASAP again. Do they just not care about her or Coralie at all? Havent they been partners for a period of time before this? Dont they think that maybe they should check on Helia first before inviting her back to the place her friend literally JUST died at? Like, LITERALLY JUST DIED at.

And again, what does Coralie's death mean for Helia? Is she going to go through what she just went through twice already? Is Helia going to shoot herself? Her clear inferiority led to Coralie dying (in her head), so if she isnt going to go through the same thing thrice, is she just going to kill herself?

Do Hoyo not care enough about the part 2 characters to not write a character arc (twice) right before a death that would trigger that character arc?

So Im trying to figure out what the difference between Himeko's death and Coralie's death is, and I think its the buildup to the climax that is missing for Coralie. For Himeko, there is several chapters of building and a lot of things are escalating and they're throwing everything they cant at the Herrscher of the Void and they just cant stop her, leading to the climax of a sacrifice play that doesnt even fully defeat HoV. The tension is built up over several chapters and a lot of focus is put on Himeko and Kiana over those 5 chapters (chapters 5-9) which leads to the final climax of HoV vs Himeko and a great animated fight scene.

After all the focus was on Helia this chapter, Coralie jumps infront of a sword in a simulation and dies irl. Bruh what.

How did Coralie even die? We didn't even get to see her condition. And she died off-screen.
