Okay hear me out. What if Buck’s actual gay awakening was when he was a ranch hand, and he had a lil gay romance fling for the first time with a frickin’ cowboy who’s all tan skin and dark hair and teaches him how to ride horses and breaks his heart so devastatingly (Because Buck falls in love so easily and he throws his entire being into his relationships even when they’re not supposed to be serious), and seeing Eddie for the first time at the 118 years later, and the subtle similarities, brings back all his gay little feelings after mostly suppressing that side of his bisexuality because it was just easier to date women and he was kinda scared to experience a love that intense before so women felt safer. But jokes on him because it’s immediately like that with Eddie, but even more intense and he’s a goner from the start.

Anyways this is all stemming from a drawing I’m working on of Buck petting a horse lmao. Maybe, maybe, I’ll write an accompanying fic or something, featuring flashbacks to his time at the ranch and then present day. Maybe Buck has a small box of Polaroids and pictures from his travels and times at places, he and Eddie are going through them after a few beers, and that’s when Eddie finds like a fucking sweet Polaroid of Buck and said cowboy, and pictures said cowboy took of Buck, and Buck just whispers you remind me of him and they kiss idk. If I don’t ever get to this plot someone write it pls and share it. 💗💗💗
