actually obsessed with Athena and Apollo’s entire dynamic btw though like. they can switch from mercilessly dunking on each other to giving each other very sincere emotional support in literal seconds. the first interaction they ever have is her throwing a cop at him. AA5’s overarching narrative is told almost entirely through the framing device of Athena reflecting on how they became friends in the first place. they get given a scroll with a drawing of two yokai on it as evidence in the murder they’re investigating, and immediately start debating which one would win in a fight. he watches the same video about her current hyperfixation with her five times on loop. he has to talk her out of kicking down a metal door. they’ve held hands onscreen twice. he starts telling her about the gore in a manga he read once, in excruciating detail, within less than an hour of meeting her. she asks him to tie her up to prove a point and he ties the rope in a decorative bow. he has a complete nervous breakdown over the prospect of not being able to trust her or keep her in his life. she is very aware that he’s having the breakdown but blames it on a jacket. they’re on opposing sides of Ladder v. Stepladder. he asks her to punch him. she asks him to rip out a handful of their boss’s hair. they once got into a custody battle over a stray cat. and like that’s just off the top of my head

sometimes I forget that my experience has been. um. not 'your experiences are not universal' vibes but more like 'your experiences are EXTREMELY atypical'
#red said#recent events have reminded me that my life has involved like. a LOT of other people's psychosis#like not in a way where i have been Beset By Terrifying Crazies bc that's not like. a thing.#but a lot of people in my life have had a lot of really severe psychotic episodes#and i FORGET sometimes. that actually that is an Unusual Amount Of Experience With Psychosis for someone who's not#for somebody who has not really personally ever had psychotic episodes (unless severe PTSD flashbacks count)#actually i tell a lie i have maybe had One psychotic episode but because it was very situational and i knew what was happening#i was able to ride it out. because i am literally only psychotic Inside Hospitals and so that's all fine#as long as i LITERALLY NEVER HAVE TO HAVE INPATIENT CARE. Very important to me to never ever ever require surgery i think.#i can handle the amount of psychosis i get from a 1-4 hour stopoff in hospital#as long as i know I'm leaving soon then i can just Cope with the fact that the walls are moving and reality is thin#ANYWAY that's not the point the point is i forget! that most ppl i know have experience of at most a handful of severe psychotic episodes#some people i know have experienced more for sure. especially if the episodes were mostly theirs.#but people really seem to expect me to be more freaked out by their symptoms of psychosis than i am#bc i don't think i really register it as frightening unless they're in actual danger or Currently Aggressing Actually At Me#like i WORRY about them bc it can super suck but it's not SHOCKING or WEIRD#there have definitely been times ive been frightened. one time i woke up in the night and my friend was standing over me with a knife#but also like he was still HIM he was just having a moment. and as soon as i got the knife off him he just came back and broke down.#and we were fine and he was safe and i learnt the valuable lesson that even when people seem like they wanna kill you they probably don't#tbf now I'm thinking about it it's honestly a tossup whether he was there to threaten or because he felt a need to guard us#like to be clear probably don't try and take a knife off someone having a psychotic break. i was 17 and it was 3am and i knew him very well#i probably did not make the smartest call but nobody got hurt is the point#anyway you know there's that kind of psychotic episode and my granny got very violently angry a few times. buuuut you know there's also#been plenty of other times I've been with somebody having an episode and it's been chill as hell.#my ex saw and heard monsters so much that eventually she just got sick of being scared. we used to watch TV with them#i would sometimes have to sit on a bit of sofa that wasn't haunted and we might not be able to watch certain things bc they didn't like it#most of the time she was hallucinating there was absolutely nothing to worry about we just had a few extra variables#honestly of everyone i know who's had psychotic episodes or schizophrenia the amount of times it's been a material risk#is like. low single figures? maybe low double if you include self harm but idk what the cause and effect is there.#idk why you would need to be frightened like 99.99% of the time it truly is usually just Oh No That Seems Distressing For You I'm Sorry

Here's an interesting question: do we think Aemond saw the Valyrian glyphs of the prophecy here?
Because the dagger did get blasted with fire along with Aeggy (;_;), which we know brings out the writing, and this very episode went out of its way to establish that Aemond is fluent in High Valyrian.
I do wonder if their plan for his arc is to make him obsess over what the words mean along side figuring out that Hel is a Dreamer.

So as Aoyama doesn't have a natural Quirk, he doesn't have someone he's tied to like that. (Which I think would bother him tbh as it would bother anyone to not have that connection to another person and not even a Quirk can fix it.)
Re: Sato: We could go with either the trio being Soulmates but keeping the queerplatonic aspect (though this could get fun as I'm debating whether Himiko ends up in the LoV or not in this AU, despite the Soulmates aspect so she'll have to deal with that later).
I think some I'm giving platonic Soulmates to, but I haven't decided. Right now I'm thinking of platonic soulmates between Fumikage and Eimi because they're funky little twins like that (plus given their 'pretend to be a single person' charade would be blown by having an outside Soulmate that could yoink the Quirk from them so I don't think they would've gone through with the plan). what if capitalism is making the one job i thought was possible for me feel unattainable not because i haven’t literally been doing it since age 13 but because it’s not well paid enough so until you get into a higher position you have to work multiple jobs and i knew that i always knew that but. fuck. why is adulting going to be so exhausting. what if this really is the best time of my life? being a depressed college student? what if it’s downhill from here?

I interviewed two professionals in front of#the whole class. FUCK I probably need to send them a thank you email. that’s gonna be a tmrw issue or I might draft hifh but like not sendin#but anyway after that I had one hour for lunch and then three hour lab which was fun!! because we went ride pooling but like we walked a#shit ton and in the sun#oh and my roommates must’ve forgotten I come with today cause they left me behind (which is totally fine cause I didn’t get up but it did#mean I had to catch the on campus transport and that takes forever and so I was late to meet my friend for breakfast and dining hall was#closed so I had to get food elsewhere which literally cost the same as the dining hall in the morning which is dumb but it took waaay longer#anyway hifh boom takes tumblr diary entries too seriously idk why I channeled my whole life into this post lmao#i think it’s cause I’m self-isolating HARD (despite being fairly social at the moment? it’s a surprisingly cool balancing act im pulling off#quite well as a busy bee) so I felt the need to pretend to have human connection without actually breaking my self-imposed isolation lmao#boom blogs high
