🌵🤠🙄
Crouched down behind the bar at the back of the room, Dean pushes bottles around until he finds the little box of cactus-shaped cocktail sticks left over from Jack’s “Green Stuff” themed birthday party (Dean’s given up on questioning the kid’s requests) and holds them up triumphantly.
“Got ‘em!”
Sam peers around the back of his recliner and narrows his eyes as Dean makes his way back to the couch and plonks back into his seat, shaking a few out into his hand and sticking them into several cubes of cheese and deli meats on the platter he’d set up earlier.
“What are those, pickles?”
“They’re cactuses, man. They’re thematically relevant to the movie. Y’know, cowboys, deserts, cactuses.”
“Oh my god, I told you we are not watching it again,” Sam groans.
“Well, it’s what’s playing in the Deanplex tonight, and there’s only one screen, so—”
“The Deanplex? Really?”
“You kept whining about me calling it the Dean Cave,” Dean reminds him. “Reap what you sow.”
“Dean. I’m serious. No more Tombstone.”
“It’s a classic!”
“So is Citizen Kane, but we don’t need to watch it six times a year!”
Dean makes a face. Slaps Sam’s hand away when he tries to take one of the cubes of colby jack before he’s had a chance to stick a cactus in it.
“Okay, one? Citizen Kane is boring as fuck and you know it.”
“Not the point,” Sam huffs.
“And B? What are you talking about, six times? Who’s watched it six times?”
Sam stares, then raises his hand to count them off on his fingers.
“We watched it on your birthday,” he starts, raising his index finger.
Dean rolls his eyes.
“Yeah, ‘cause it’s one of my favorite movies. Choosing the movie is a time-honored birthday tradition.”
“So then why did we have to watch it on my birthday?”
“Hey, that’s on you, man. Not my fault you struck out on your date and came home when me and Cas had already hit play.”
“I didn’t strike out, Eileen had to—”
“And anyway, that’s only two times, so—”
Sam raises his second and third finger and cuts him off.
“We watched it again on Valentine’s Day.”
“Again, when you were supposed to be out! I don’t see why I have to suffer just because you can’t seem to manage to get a date with Eileen to continue past 7pm.”
Sam ignores the dig and lifts his fourth finger.
“We watched it on Jack’s birthday.”
“His choice, and as we’ve established: it’s birthday tradition,” Dean reminds him, and shrugs. “Kid inherited my good taste genes, I guess.”
“That’s not — that doesn’t make sense on literally any level.”
“Says you.”
“You’re not even his father!”
“How dare you say that about my son,” Dean says in exaggerated horror, and Sam grits his teeth, visibly making the decision not to push that particular argument, even as Dean can tell how infuriated he is.
He lifts his thumb.
“And then we watched it again two weeks ago, and— fine, yeah, that one I’ll give you, ‘cause it was like. The anniversary of that time we had the hunt in Tombstone when Cas just came back from the dead, so. Fine. But dude. Two weeks ago. It’s only July and we’ve already watched it five times this year. We are not watching it for a sixth.”
“It’s National Day of the Cowboy, Sam! How are we not gonna watch the best cowboy movie of all time on the Day of the Cowboy?”
“You’re still arguing about this?”
Cas’ voice floats over from the doorway, and Dean looks over to see him wearing the denim Western shirt Dean bought him for the occasion. The pearl snaps glint, silvery in the light from the TV screen where Tombstone is loaded and ready to play.
“Yeah, ‘cause Sam’s being unreasonable.”
“I’m not—”
“You realize I left to drop Jack off with his friends almost an hour ago,” Cas points out.
“Remind me again what he’s doing with his friends,” Dean says, and looks at Sam to see his reaction when Cas answers.
“They’re celebrating National Day of the Cowboy by watching the Dollars trilogy in Eliot’s backyard.”
“Sounds like Jack and his friends are getting into the sprit of the holiday,” Dean says pointedly.
“It’s not a holiday!”
“They’ve set up a projector to show the films on the side of the barn,” Cas goes on.
“Okay, so hey— a compromise,” Sam offers. “Why don’t we just watch the Dollars trilogy?”
“…oh, did you think we were only watching Tombstone tonight?” Dean asks, bemused. “Dude, that’s just the appetizer. We’ve got a whole damn buffet to get through.”
“I hate you so much,” Sam tells him, but he’s already given up. He snatches up several pieces of cheese and slouches back in his chair. “Start the damn movie.”
“Hey, man,” Dean says, and settles into the couch, spreading his arm for Cas to settle against before he kicks his cowboy-booted heels up onto the edge of the coffee table and hits play. “You’re the one who keeps crashing date night.”

now hold on. I'm currently watching episode 14 season 14 of supernatural. so this episode, they're hunting a demigod that can see the future right? fine. normal episode. but this is what is really getting to my head. so dean and cas are at the scene of the crime. after the trucker was killed. the demigod left a note for dean that says that he looked into the future or whatever and saw him standing alone reading the note at the truck. cas asks why he didn't talk about him in the note. dean answers "maybe you're not his type."
okay, fine. totally normal response. except for the fact that literally the scene before entails the demigod essentially tricking this trucker into thinking that for a ride he'll do "anything" (anything being sex)
now with that context, WHAT THE FUCK COULD HE POSSIBLY MEAN BY THAT?? that cas isn't gay? which, for one, yes he is. but that's not the point. if that's what he means, that implies that dean thinks that he IS this demigods type. and how did the demigod lure the trucker? gay sex. thank you for coming to my ted talk.
AND! you want to know who else he kisses in this episode? CAS. so apparently he IS his type.

@angelinthefire tagged me to share the last line of my wip (thank you!!! 💙)
I have 2 wips at the moment, my long one ICYNITD and a *mysterious* short one that I'm hoping to post by the end of January (maybe for Dean's birthday?).
This line is from the *mysterious* short one. It's not actually the last line i wrote (because that would be spoilery), and it's not exactly one single line either, but it's still in the latest paragraphs and makes sense as a stand alone to be shared without context:
A soft smile spreads on Cas’ lips—and Dean almost faints at it. He thinks he feels his legs stop working, and he wonders just how many more parts of his body can start malfunctioning at this pace, by Cas’ closeness and presence.
It didn’t use to be like this.
Or… did it?
Tagging @huggybearsunshine @loganberryx @cheerfulripley @vampire-in-a-trench-coat to do the same if you want to :) also if you have a wip and want to do it consider yourself tagged

Thanks for this on—point summary. Still… I anchored so much bitter stuff inside since the ugly finale. Those two last episodes really messed me up, physically and emotionally. I swear I felt a future aneurysm born that day, from a vein that protruded from my neck to my forehead while watching the last episode.
It's not just the way they treated Cas and Misha, and blaming all to Covid. Not even the final results Destiel a One side infatuation, plus kill your gays/love interest to give to the hero of the story a tragic “heroic” arch. For me, It's always the way the killed Dean.
I'm glad Jackles could make this step to try to do something “good” from the stupid result of Dean's death. Making a P.S. about who Dean really was and remain being in heaven. I think it's so in character for him to DO SOMETHING even if he is putting his comfort or “deserved rest” in peril to fight for the good of others. I'm truly delighted.
Still, I'm uncertain if I want to watch the Scooby-Doo gang in the 70s hunting monsters. I'll probably watch only that last episode to see Dean again. I hope for the best for those who started to love this show, and pray for a second season.
Definitely, if that happens it will be because Dean was there, with a promise to see him again. I'm vert unsure if I want to engage with all of this, again. Or watch from that season. As always, these are my thoughts, and personal dramas/preferences. But I would rather not be played again. Even if the Event Horizon of Clowning could happen in this show. I know it will not happen, and for ever be a promise to keep the hook and raitings. That's the CW way. But I know I'll be there watching LIVE promptly applying the clown makeup once more. If Castiel it's confirmed on that series.
Side personal bitter Cas/Misha stan note. I have many, many reasons to dislike the gigantor, mostly because of the finale and other “moves” this dude made since the ending of SPN. How cool is that if, according to my theory, much of the finale was a Jpad making, will and final demand. Because he thought that if HE WAS THE ONLY ONE ALIVE, there could be many chances of Sam having his comeback and AT LAST, his own show, where he is not out staged by “secondary characters”. LMAO…🤣
Now, by the new logic, Jackles reset the SPN show, and it's stupid ending canon. ONLY THE ONES Dead, or not part of the reality of the Canon universe (Aka Not the moose). Could make sense, or be a part of this multiverse of Dean helping from heaven.
My final Clowning, thoughs.
I just realize that by this new canon/logic Dean created an at infinitum of possibilities for Destiel? Twice the amount of fics of AUs ever created. For me, it's like ok, the Canon Supernatural show ended with Dean's gay panic, no thank you Cas I love you like a brother... Bruh.
But by HIM INTERVENING in parallel or mirror universes. It's like he is twisting the Canon faiths of his upbringing and all the forced "I don't swing that way" bullshit the show has been playing since the beginning. Bringing to the front all the subtext MIRRORING in plain sight. So, this makes a World, or Worlds, where Destiel is perfectly Canon, a part of the hero journey for Dean.
It's simply exquisite. 🙌🏼
Honk honk 🤡
i know we've already made a hundred jokes about it but oh my god. dean winchester escaping heaven with his car to save the multiverse is a real thing that happened. like that was airing on live tv in the year 2023. he drove. the car. and it took him to an alternate dimension where his parents were better people. you cant make this shit up

So.
While Misha and Jensen were doing Cockles, we were being hinting/baiting by Destiel. But, while we were cultivating Deancas, we lost precious footage of Jenmish being super gay, because they knew that that footage would never reach our eyes.

now that bedlund has basically confirmed that the writers (well at the very least him but it’s likely more) perceived destiel and wrote with destiel in mind, i am soooooo curious to know when this started??? how early did they realize there was possibly more complex feelings between deancas???? at the very least for bedlund it sounds like it was s5 but i bet there were hints of it as early as 4x07. hell maybe even right after 4x01?????

The unforgiving waves pushed him further under, arms and legs flailing wildly. In his panic, he made the mistake of trying to breathe. To scream. All it got him was a mouthful of water and a burning in his lungs.

DeanCas Horrorfest presents:
A Word in the Mists
Author: Hiding Amaranth Artist: lamiasage Rating: M Word Count: ~23,000 Tags&Warnings: pre-relationship Dean/Castiel, Dean & Jo, Canon-Adjacent AU, Case Fic, Monster Hunt, Mystery, Ship at Sea Setting, Isolated from the Outside World, Sarcasm, Angst, Canon-Level Depictions of Blood and Violence, Minor Character Deaths (not TFW), Brief Hints of Suicidal Thoughts, Fear of Drowning, I can't use more tags because I don't want to spoil the surprise
Tumblr media
Summary: Mist as far as the eye can see. A gloomy ocean that seems to swallow up the sunlight like broken dreams. An old, rusty ship that creaks with every inch of movement. And a crew that could compete in an award for grumpiest people alive.
Dean really hates pretty much everything about this case, and would love nothing more than to call it quits and turn this ship around—if there wasn't the little issue of the disappearance of thousands of people across ten different ships on the open sea.
Saving lives is what he does… though he has to question if he isn't doing more harm than good when the disappearances begin on his own ship—and he still hasn't even figured out what kind of monster they're dealing with.
Tumblr media
Preview: Nothingness devoured the horizon. Dean glanced back over his shoulder, but the wafts of mist were too thick to see anything beyond the ship's railing. A chill crept over his skin at the realization that he couldn't even make out the other end of the ship itself. The chain of friendly, orange lights hung across the deck didn't stand a chance, its brightness swallowed up effortlessly by the blanket of fog. It was a mirror to the way this blasted mission seemed to soak all happiness out of him.
Maybe coming up here had been a mistake. He'd hoped the fresh air would help him clear his head—that it could ease some of the tension that had stubbornly settled in his shoulders ever since he'd set foot on the Fate's Whisper. Instead, all he'd achieved by stepping out on the deck was that the tight knot of worry somewhere deep in his chest solidified.

Chapter 16 [Read Here]
CHAMPION Part III of Heavyweight a deancas boxing au by valleydean (emmbrancsxx0) read from the beginning | playlist
SUMMARY: Brooklyn, 1933. Dean Winchester, the number one contender, trains to become the next Heavyweight Champion of the World, and this time he won't let anything get in his way. Title holder Castiel Novak has second thoughts about retiring, especially when someone from his past arrives in New York and asks for his help. Meanwhile, a new contender rises to fame and threatens to complicate both of Dean and Cas' ambitions - and their relationship.
CHAPTER PREVIEW:
The MC’s voice boomed through the arena: “Ladies and gentlemen, live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, welcome to tonight’s main event!”
There was a pause for more cheers.
“We have a very special fight for you tonight, and that’s all thanks to the man entering the arena for the very last time in his professional career…”
Castiel flexed and tightened his hands inside his gloves. They were already sweating. He hoped, after he’d won, the crowd wouldn’t be too disappointed to find out that they would no longer be able to brag about having been at Angel Novak’s final bout. Perhaps they’d be satisfied in knowing they’d been there when he announced that he was staying.
“Coming to us from Brooklyn, New York. You know him as the Angel of America. The undisputed heavyweight champion of the world—Castiel Novak!”
“An-gel Nov-ak!” the crowd chanted, stomping their feet. The fanfare of brass instruments rose up from the orchestra.
The curtains were pulled back. Castiel pushed his shoulders upright and walked into the arena.
“An-gel Nov-ak!”
There wasn’t a seat left vacant in the Garden. The crowd undulated from the ringside seats to where the bleachers met the ceiling. The people standing in the pits surged forward and thrust their arms over the barriers to touch his gloves and robe. They waved signs and lit cigarette lighters to get his attention. Press cameras blinded him from every direction.
When he reached the rows of ringside seats, the people sitting close to the aisles grabbed him by the shoulders and shook his gloved hands, wishing him luck. The governor and his wife, the mayor, Congressmen, socialites, gangsters, and celebrities.
“Give ‘em hell, baby,” a familiar, sultry voice said to him while he was shaking Babe Ruth’s hand. He glanced around, finding Meg Masters.
“Meg.” Pleasantly surprised that she was there, he gave her a smile. She planted a possessive kiss on his cheek before he had to move on.
Mick was on the aisle seat in the second row from the front, Balthazar beside him. He clapped Castiel on the back before hugging Michael. Balthazar leaned over them and said, “Do us proud, Cassie!”
He expected to find Dean in the first aisle seat. Instead, Kelly was there, giving him a bright smile. Jack rushed around her and gave Castiel a hug. Castiel put his glove on Jack’s head, chuckling. His buoyancy sank somewhat when he found Dean standing over the seat next to Jack’s. Dean clapped, his eyes on Castiel. He gave Castiel the same phony grin that was usually reserved for press photos. Castiel promised himself that Dean’s smile would be genuine by the end of the night.
Sam was next to Dean, then Eileen, who gave him a thumbs up—and Castiel was surprised to find Maura clinging to Sam’s shoulder as he held her. Jo and Charlie were further back in the row. The end chair had been removed for Bobby’s wheelchair. Castiel thought he spotted Henriksen, Benny, and Rufus in the seats behind Bobby, but it was difficult to see in the shadows. All the blinding lights were focused on him.
“You have lipstick on your cheek!” Jack laughed. That certainly explained the hints of jealousy on Dean’s face. He hadn’t even realized Meg had left a mark behind.
“Oh, I…” He raised his glove, then paused, because he didn’t want to smear red on the leather so soon.
Kelly pulled out her handkerchief and wiped the lipstick off his face quickly. When she was done, she said, “Go. They’re waiting for you. Good luck!”
With one last look at Dean, Castiel moved to the ring. He climbed inside, his team right behind him. As he did, he heard the commentator saying for the people listening over the radio, “Angel Novak has entered the ring for the final time in his career—or is it? He’s expected to make an announcement at the end of tonight’s bout. His coach and promoter haven’t commented on the matter, but analysts speculate that Novak will push his plans for retirement and hold onto the belt for a little while longer. That is, unless Mr. Webb beats him tonight.”
In his corner, Castiel shuffled from foot to foot and shook out his arms, still trying to get loose. His robe fluttered around his calves.

I have a few thoughts about the Winchesters finale, and though I wasn’t gonna weigh in on this, it turns out I needed to write this down to get it out of my head, so here we go.
I understand that Misha was approached to be included on the show and that there was a “scheduling conflict” that included multiple conversations with Jensen. Here’s my interpretation of that:
I believe Cas was supposed to make a cameo in episode 13 to tee up the confession resolution—this was always the episode where they were going to crack open the “surprise twist” even before learning they would only get 13 episodes total. In the original scenario, episode 13 would have been the hellatus episode rather than a finale, leaving room for everything to come to a head with episode 22 instead. It’s then they would have given us the actual Dean and Cas reunion. This would have wrapped both stories nicely with each group going off into their own respective sunsets—their own happy endings, while still leaving all the room for the new crew to explore more seasons; all along, we see, The Winchesters was about Dean and Cas as much as it was about Mary and John.
When they didn’t get the back half of the season picked up, I assume they feared it would be more dangerous to show a Cas cameo without getting to address the confession, so Misha likely opted to be left out instead. With the only hint to Cas being Dean’s line that he was looking for his family when he found the Akrida, then directly drawing the parallel that Jack and Bobby were “family.” The core crew for Dean has always been Bobby, Sam, Jack, AND Cas. And he wasn’t looking for Sam because he was still on earth. So who’s left? You might be compelled to believe he was window shopping AU versions of his parents, but he confirms he ran into the Akrida in this world and then sought to interfere with the order by approaching John in an effort to prevent it from spreading to Sam's world. (Why Cas would be AU hopping, idk. The boy is really afraid of being shot down, I guess.)
It goes far to explain the vast narrative parallels we saw reflected in the Monster Club crew if it was intended as a setup for the confession payoff. It honestly doesn’t make a lot of sense otherwise. There’s no reason these people should be living Dean's experiences and regrets every episode unless the writers wanted the viewer to be thinking about the lessons and resolutions in how they relate to Dean too.
Additionally, as this has been a largely uncontested take, this is Jensen's well-funded fanfic come to life. Complete with the embracing of many of our favorite fanfic tropes and emphasized by Dean’s own words throughout the season. Because this is an obvious embrace of that “write your own story” fan side, I believe the reason Dean couldn’t even say Cas’ name in the episode is because they were going to change the spelling from “Cass” as it was in the show proper to the fan-adopted (and more accurate) spelling of “Cas,” which would have appeared in the subtitles and later the script pages.  And even that little thing right there would have been a huge giveaway to the whole game. And a very dangerous thing to do if there wasn’t going to be enough time for follow-through.
But the truth is, this isn’t a game for many people, and the harm that can be caused by good intentions is just as real. It also begs the question: why should this be so difficult? The answer is it’s not. Edging forever isn’t fun. It’s torture. I understand there’s an art to storytelling, but your audience is weary, and trust has been violated too many times. Even still, the flip side of that coin is honest to god respect for DeanCas endgame means taking the story and the reveal seriously. It’s a tightrope walk. And one that Robbie somehow managed to keep balanced after the finale, without it falling either way.  Also we also need to consider the possibility that Jensen did pitch a full-on destiel love story spin-off but got shot down, opting to couch it in a more CW-branded world instead. He’s mentioned over half a dozen pitches were rejected. It's up to you whether you want to give him the benefit of the doubt on that.
But, I’m gonna be honest here, I don’t know that we will ever get that resolution we crave. Even Robbie confirmed The Winchesters were always meant to “go it alone” after the first season. It’s hard to imagine Dean popping in there to fuck around again after that handoff. But the dude is clearly a very restless sea-faring*, swoopy-haired mofo right now, so I’ll leave that one up to the SPN multiverse and the new Mr. Superwholock’s magical universe-traveling impala. (This show used to be about what again? *looks at notes*.) And FWIW, if they do get green-lit for a whole second season or are allowed to move networks, I believe a good-faith effort will be made to tie the narrative parallels we saw in season one to some real Dean and Cas resolution. If there gets to be a world where John *might* not turn into an abusive dick, then this possibility has to be true too.
For the record, I enjoyed The Winchesters, all the new characters, and the doors the finale opened for the possibility of more. I would have been fine half-watching it with no promises, empty head no thoughts, but I got my clown** suit on again, and though I mostly kept quiet, unlike last time, I did regrettably manage to drag a few friends down with me yet again.  Though the spec sessions were epic, and we did get some art out of it—it still rocks the boat when the base level expectations were only 1. Dean alive, and 2. seeing Cas again.
But for anyone, like me, upset by the (likely unintentional) Cas-baiting or anyone still reeling about why this stuff can hit so hard, here’s an interesting article about the way our brains respond to fictional characters. Tl;dr: There’s nothing wrong with you. This is science. And while you’re at it, take a look at this article about the very real power of disenfranchised grief over character loss.
Ramble on, fam. And take care of yourselves.
<3 Jackie
*Um hi he appears as a sailor? Literally, on a show with a story Dean is writing whose audience is looking for a resolution to a conversation between two people who’re famously the “most shipped” characters of all time? That’s not an accident. That’s intentional. And it’s another reason why there might be a bitter taste in your mouth. These nods came without resolution, so it still feels dirty, despite the brilliant Easter egg.
**I hesitate to say “clown” here because the lesson on episode 12 was that the clowns were the ones who chose a self-induced limbo rather than face some personal hard revelations. That sounds more like a certain closeted character than it does the people cheering him on, and that felt like an intentional nod too.
***obviously, this is my own rambling spec as I try to reorder my thoughts in the wake of the finale.

Just remembered the time my brother immediately caught onto deancas subtext. Halfway through the Cain flashback he went: "Ohh, Dean is Cain and Cas is Colette" and in that moment I realized that being a straight guy has nothing to do with not being able to see the parallels. I’m convinced all the reddit dudes who say there were no hints in the show just have no media literacy at all.

I think the funniest thing about the unparalleled media experience that is SPN is that eventually we are gonna realise that a lot of, if not most of the conspiracy theories were RIGHT.
J2 fallout theory began before the finale even aired. I think its safe to say it was at least SOMEWHAT accurate even if all the details arent known. The messy twitter drama and Jared's complete and utter exclusion from the Winchesters when everyone and their mother was invited to guest star from the other SPN cast is embarassingly obvious if you ask me. If Jared wasnt such a huge asshole I think I'd actually feel bad for him. Plus the obvious awkwardness and not even subtle shade at cons.
Jackles long con conspiracy is hilariously accurate. I remember the speculation during his Sexy Silence era, wondering if he hated the finale as much as we did, and getting laughed at for daring to suggest he wasnt super happy with that gross ending. Then he starts dropping shade and subtly dragging it until eventually he just came out and admitted he wasnt happy, that The Winchesters is legit an attempt to fix things. The Winchesters finale goes on to prove that, and yes, as OP says, the discussion with Misha about Cas returning surely means Jackles has already made up his mind about a DeanCas reunion. It may not look like what we all dream it will look like, but its still in keeping with the conspiracy that Jackles has been plotting to fix things since before the finale even aired.
Even if the big Destiel part of the conspiracy theory isnt as accurate, it still has a basis in reality, based on what Jackles said at Jibcon. He DOES want to see Dean respond to Cas' confession. We have finally moved out of the "Dean was silenced" era because Jackles himself has basically in a round about way confirmed that Dean was in fact silenced.
The other big conspiracy theory within SPN fandom is about the circumstances of the finale and the level of meddling and changes to the end. Misha has already confirmed that Cas was supposed to be there, that he WAS cut out completely and "covid reasons" is a bullshit excuse. If we track all the weird contradictory explanations Misha has given us over the past 2 years its obvious he had some NDA in place preventing him from actually telling the truth. Its only recently he has admitted to Cas's presence in the OG finale script. Once again the conspiracy that certain parties behind the scenes worked hard to remove any and all elements connected to Destiel isn't exactly a stretch. The finale WAS supposed to hint at a reunion between Dean and Cas in heaven. I heard recently that the one pathetic Cas mention of "Cas helped" was an on the day addition that they were thankfully able to sneak in, because he legit was erased completely. This may still be a conspiracy theory, but eventually I believe it will also be proven true - especially as time moves on and intolerence towards queer stories becomes less and less acceptable and queerbaiting becomes a thing of the past. Someone is gonna blab eventually. I can't wait to see Tumblrs reaction when it happens.
Then we have the "Chuck Won" theory. It was initially purely within the realms of meta analysis among those angry and hurt by the ending. It makes sense in so many ways, so much more sense than accepting the totally out of character finale at face value. But there never used to be much merit in it as a legit theory beyond giving hurt fans something to latch onto.
The fact that The Winchesters finale has raised more questions than it has answered, that it has blown the lid wide open on the Chuck Won theory is brilliant and a bit mind blowing. Canonically it is clear that something isn't right. Dean isn't happy and he isnt at peace, and Jack is acting wildly out of character far beyond the realms of bad writing. Its intentional imo. Because everything in this show is intentional.
I genuinely thought I had left this whole universe of maddening conspiracy theories and baffling BTS drama behind me. But its so freaking enticing I cant stop myself from diving back in. No offence to the Sherlock girlies, but the SPN conspiracies are so far removed from TJLC its impossible to compare them. The SPN conspiracies are one by one, bit by bit, slowly but surely, proving themselves true. For a show that ended over 2 years ago it really is an insane state of affairs. There is nothing else quite like the SPN Experience.
truly mind blowing thing to me personally is that the jackles long con truthers... well. maybe they weren't Absolutely Right but they were not Wrong either. he asked Misha to portray Cas on the winchesters. he did. and if cas is here the reunion is inevitable, also: “i hope we will get to see that someday / i think it will go the way we all think it would”. wild

#wipwednesday time!! dean's seven here, sam is three, and this is the aftermath of john using dean as bait for the first time :))
once again, this fic is a retelling of the weechesters upbringing w cas thrown in to spice things up (and eventual deancas endgame, and yes this is going to be a series oops), based on @leviathancas 's post (x). all content related to this fic will be tagged #hci verse !
live text under the cut:
By the time Dad and Dean get back to the motel, Dean still hasn’t been able to stop shaking. He’s doing his best to tamp it down, to not let Dad or Sammy see the fear still clinging to him, but no matter what he does it just won’t stop.
Dad immediately sits down at the motel desk and starts in on his journal, just like he does after every hunt. Dean can’t do more than slip into his pyjamas and crawl into bed, pushing himself back against the headboard to have something solid at his back while he scans the room nervously.
Everything is fine, he tells himself, you’re fine and Sammy’s fine and Dad is fine. Stop being a baby. You’re fine.
He’s still trembling when Sam clambers into bed after him, giving him one look before crawling into his lap determinedly. Dean just watches it happen, detached, as Sam wiggles down and gets comfy, leaning back against Dean’s chest. Once settled, he grabs Dean’s arms and wraps them snugly around himself. He nods then, and pats Dean’s arm in comfort.
“Okay, Dee,” Sammy says, tipping his head back against Dean’s chest to look up at him. Dean blinks back, panic edging from his chest as his breaths come a little steadier. “Okay?"
Dean’s arms tighten around him and he buries his face in Sammy’s hair, sucking in a deep breath.
“Yeah, m’okay, Sammy,” he mutters. Sam nods underneath him, and taps out a little beat on Dean’s arms, humming like Dean still does sometimes to get Sammy to sleep. Tears prickle in Dean’s eyes and he holds on tighter, and Sammy just sits there and lets him.
Eventually, Dean slides down beneath the covers, Sammy still snug in his arms. Sammy nuzzles close with a yawn, and tucks his head under Dean’s chin.
“Night-night, Dee,” Sammy whispers.
“Night, Sammy,” Dean whispers back, and he holds him, safe in his arms, as they drift off to sleep.
