You want to know what would be even funnier.
Danny is the Ghost Prince. Danny is only working for Hades as an internship.
Like how you would have the heir of a company work under one of the executives to gain experience.
Hades might not care that Cassie stole Danny but Danny’s guardians sure care.
Wonder Spirit
Cassie x Danny
Cassie had already spent a few days in this new place, where Zatanna teleported her, but this place was pretty cool. And she met her half-sister and uncle Hades here. While here, she meets the silver haired boy, Danny, who worked for her uncle. He was pretty cute! She should thank Zatanna later. + Danny liked to spend time and do fighting against Cassie and was interested in the human world around her. He was only on his own, and he didn't have any heroes like hers. It was only him. + And after almost 3 months, it was time for Cassie to leave as the portal opened again. Cassie turned to Danny; he had told her he wanted to see her world. But he was always busy, and she had no idea how to write or contract him if she left. So she did a Greek Mythology thing. Cassie grabbed Danny and took him with her into the portal: "Your boss kidnapped my sister, so it's fair if I kidnap you! I bet you would enjoy the world and being a hero." Danny turned to Hades and his wife and said, " Boss!" Persephone just smiled:" Have fun!" Hades is not even looking up from the paperwork:" Bring back snacks when you return in 6 months." + Zatanna smiled as she looked at the portal. She finally did the right spell. But why is Cassie with a cute boy? Wally asked, " Who is he?" Cassie:" He works for my uncle; I kidnapped him to show him our world. No fear, my uncle said it's okay." Diana looked at her protege and sidekick, who whispered to her mentor, " He is strong; I like to fight him."
Danny looked out of the Window, truly a nice stars to see in this place.
+
Danny has 3 clothes, normal, phantom and Greek ones.

Fake ASMR ~ Friendly Giantess (Part 3)
-----------------------------------------
"Wow. What a view. This place reminds of a lake that I used to swim in when I was a child. This terrain feels... Very nostalgic & reminiscent of the area around the lake. It's strange, really. Even as a child, I was still over 50 feet tall. Hardly seemed like a child to the humans around me who still had to bend their heads back just to make eye contact with me."
"..."
"How tall am I now? Well... I stand at a staggering 100 feet which is exceptional even for giants. Yeah, I'm certainly a grower. Haha. Most of my kind usually cap out at 80 feet. Maybe 90 if they're lucky. Yet here I am in the triple digits. Guess I'm just... A prodigy or something. Perhaps I got strong genes from my father's side of the family. He was a brute that towered over 90 feet. Maybe that trait was amplified when I was conceived. That's the best conclusion I can think of."
"..."
"You wanna know how strong I am? Oh gosh. It's too much if you ask me, but... I can move over 56,000 pounds. I could punch a mountain &... Well, there wouldn't be a mountain anymore. This power I possess is quite the responsibility, but... I manage."
"..."
"Oh, so now you want to know how much I weigh, huh? You know you should never ask a girl's weight. *giggle* Ahh, it's okay. I understand your curiosity. I weigh over 775,000 pounds. Yeah... Not exactly a lightweight, but that shouldn't be a surprise to you."
"..."
"Oh! Look, human. There's the village I was talking about. We're here. Ahh, it's been so long. I can't wait to see my friends again."
"Aww... They're already waving at me. So cute. I wonder how they'll react when I show you off."
"Hello everyone! Chieftain, kids & all humans alike. Your favorite giantess has returned! How have you been?"
"..."
"That's great to hear. Glad to see that no dragons have given you any trouble. Villages such as these are easy targets. You should always be prepared for the worst if I'm not around."
"..."
"Ah ha! I knew you'd ask what I'm holding. Check this out."
"Ta da! It's a human just like you. I met them just last night. They were freezing to death out in the night of a blizzard. It's nothing short of a miracle that I found them just in time. They seem rather endowed to me. I haven't even known them for a full day, yet I've already accustomed myself to being their caretaker."
"..."
"Yes, they live with me. I assure you, they're not burdensome at all. I've been quite endeared to the little one. It's nice having a human for company."
"...What?"
"Have I... Developed feelings for them? Well... That came out of nowhere. I, uh... I... Don't know. I mean... I do like them. They're sweet & nice. They're polite & well mannered. They're fun to hold & talk to."
"Huh? Human... What are you...? You're climbing up my arm again. Ah-... Please be careful. It's a long way down. You could fall. You know what... Here. Let me bring you up to my face. I won't allow you to take such a risk. Not like this."
"There. Nice & safe in my hands. Now... What did you want to tell me?"
"..."
"Wha-...?! Really?! You... You love me?! Seriously?! You mean... In that way? Romantically?"
"Oh... Oh my... I'm so flustered right now. It's just so sudden. And so soon to. I don't know how to process this."
"Uh... Chieftain?"
"..."
"You're right. Interspecies relationships aren't exactly a foreign concept in this world. I've heard of humans getting together with fairies so... This is fair game as well."
"Human... I'm more than happy to oblige, but... Are you sure this is what you want? You do understand the scope of this, right?"
"..."
"It feels like fate... Like this was destined to happen. A lone human connecting with a lone giantess. So this is the symbiosis that I was feeling earlier."
"Yes... I get it now. It all makes sense."
"Human... *smooch* I love you to."
"..."
*door opening & closing sound*
"Whew... Home at last. What a day. Wasn't expecting to return with a tiny boyfriend."
"Oh, of course. Now you get to show off your giant girlfriend. *giggle*"
"Now then... It's about that time of evening so I shall ask you a poetic question."
"Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum. Would you like some Giant's Gumbo?"
"..."
"Oh, come on! That was close enough to rhyming. Hmph! Well I'll still count it."
"..."
"Hahahahahaha! You're joking, right? You actually want to swim in the gumbo? You do realize just how messy you'll get, right?"
"..."
"An excuse to bathe with me later. Oh, I see how it is."
"..."
"No, no, no. I get it. I understand. I agree that does sound very nice. Tell you what. If I can find my old rubber ducky or toy boat, you can ride those in the tub. You're just the right size for them."
"As for when we go to bed... Hmmm... Well you can't really sleep... On me. There's the possibility that I'll roll over & crush you in my sleep so..."
"You know what? We'll cross that bridge when we get to it later tonight. For now, let's just enjoy some gumbo. I'm famished."
[THE END]

Red Riding Hood
Part of my ‘100 Dragon Prince Aus’ Oneshot Collection
Read Part 1 Here
Read on Ao3
After finding a girl who lived in a candy house, the lost brothers think they've found their doom. But the girl might just be part of her own story all together...
Yup its a fairytale MASHUP! we got Red Riding Hood in addition to Hansel and Gretel. What other story about children lost in the woods can we add to this? I have no idea I wrote until I was out of ideas.
But hey! 50 chapters! we're halfway through the AUS! I wanted to do something special but....I dunno, it was already sequel sunday. This chapter is...a little longer than usual? There you go. Enjoy!
“I said, what are yoo doin, eatin’ my house?!” the woman said, as Callum held up his hands, mouth full of crumbs.
He swallowed as much as he could as quickly as he could, “Please don’t eat us!” he said, accidentally spitting crumbs in her face, no doubt hurting his chances, “We were just hungry, and...and why do you live in a house made out of candy anyway?”
“Thas’ my business,” she told him, “Hey! Little one! Stop it!”
Behind Callum, Ezran was reaching for another handful of frosting, but froze. “Your house tastes, like, so good.”
“I know it does,” she said, “But that doesn’ give you a right to go tearin’ it up and eatin’ it. Besides, you’re gonna get cavities and lose your teeth, then ya won’t be eatin’ anything! Is that what you want?”
Ezran seemed to be strongly considering it. “I mean, I could still eat the frosting without teeth,” he said, looking longingly at the mounds of snowy white sugar.
“Ez,” Callum hissed at him, “Please don’t antagonize the sword-wielding witch!”
“Witch!” The woman said, offended, “I’m no’ a witch! Why would you say somethin’ like that?”
“Uhhhh, you have horns and purple skin and white hair and live in a magical house made out of candy?!” He said
“None of that makes me a witch!” she said, angling the sword at him, “I’m an elf.”
“Oh. Uh. Sorry,” Callum said, feeling awkward, “Do you….do you eat children?”
“Ew, no,” She said, “I eat fruit, there’s tons in the woods.”
“Oh,” he said. “So, the house…?”
“A witch used to live here, but he’s long gone,” she said, her casual tone not matching the SWORD at Callum’s THROAT. “I just like living in the woods, and this was all set up for me.” She shrugged.
Callum nodded. “And the sword?”
“Oh,” it was her turn to say, pulling the sword back from his throat and sheathing it again. Callum released a breath he didn’t realize he was holding, “Sorry ‘bout that. There are some unsavory folks in this forest sometimes. Girl’s gotta protect herself in a house made of candy, ya know?” Callum held up a thumb’s up, gripping his knees as the threat of sudden death dissipated. “Name’s Rayla. Why don’t you two come inside, we can get you some real food and then send you on your way.”
Just as Rayla was turning to her door, the giant gingerbread house gave an ominous creak. All three swiveled around to the source of the noise.
Through all their talking, the magical toad, Bait, did not stop eating, licking up a storm on a candy cane pole. A load-bearing candy-cane pole.
Callum had just enough time to grab Ezran by the scruff, as Ezran grabbed Bait by the tail, and the group ran as far as they could from the disaster, as the last remnants of the candy can snapped and the house tipped over, graham crackers crumbling, all the candy went down into the dirt.
The sugar settled, and the the three (plus Bait) looked at the disaster. “My home…” Rayla said, “You broke my home!”
“Is it insensitive to ask if I can still eat some of it?” Ezran asked, but Callum elbowed him to keep him quiet.
“We’re so sorry, Rayla,” Callum said, patting her shoulder and ignoring the fact she had tried to kill him a few minutes ago, “We know what it’s like to lose your home. Is there anywhere you can go?”
Rayla sighed, “My Uncle lives on the other side of the woods. I’m sure he’ll take me in.”
Callum and Rayla nodded, “Can we come with you? Once we reach your uncles, maybe we can find a way back to our dad.”
Rayla nodded, going over to the ruins to see what little she could gather. She pulled out two stale loaves of bread (Ezran had the candy thing all packed away, though he needed to be sure to keep it out of Bait’s reach) and a red cape she hooked around her neck. “Don’t want hunters to mistake me for a deer,” she said in explanation, “But stick close to me. I wasn’t kidding when I said the woods were full of monsters.”
Callum and Ezran shivered, both sticking close to Rayla’s heels as they walked along.
They walked about a mile through the quiet stretch of forest, the brush getting thicker, and the bugs around them chirping louder in response to their movement. Rayla walked in front, concentrating hard on keeping their path, even when it got so thin it was indistinguishable from the rest of the brush. Callum kept a hand on Ezran’s shoulder as they walked behind her, to ensure they would not be separated. The only one who was unaffected was Bait, who ate happily out of Ezran’s candy stash.
Another several hundred meters in, Rayla froze, hearing the sound of something moving in the branches. “What is it?” Callum whispered, the woods making him feel oddly exposed.
Rayla’s eyes darted through the trees, cocking her head to the side to listen for the sound again. It had stopped. A normal animal would have kept pressing on, no matter if she was listening or not. This wasn’t a normal animal. “We’re being watched,” she whispered back.
A thud behind them made Callum scream, breaking the silence of the forest. A figure stood behind them, tall and muscular and covered in hair. “Werewolf!” Callum said pointing, “WEREWOLF!”
“I CAN SEE THAT!” Rayla said, pushing the boys back and drawing her sword.
“Those are some tasty treats you’ve got there, elf,” the werewolf said, his voice deep and growling, “Why don’t you just hand those over to me?”
“Stay back, wolf,” Rayla said, raising her swords just a little more threatening, “These are MINE and I’m taking them out of the woods.”
“Why don’t you just give him the candy?!” Callum said, scared. He took Ezran’s bag, pulling Bait out, and threw it over to the wolf. The wolf looked at it, but didn’t move, his eyes going back to Callum. “Oh,” Callum said in understanding, “Oh WE’RE the treats. Got it.” He squeezed Ezran’s shoulder more protectively.
“Come over with me, kids,” the werewolf said, “My name is Corvus, I’ll keep you safe.”
“Ha!” Rayla laughed at him, “Safe with you, that’s a laugh.”
“They’ll be safer with me than some Elf?” Corvus sneered.
“Do we get a say in this?” Ezran asked.
“No,” The werewolf and Rayla said at the same time.
“What, you think you’re their friend?” Corvus said, stepping closer. Rayla stepped back, “They don’t even know who you are, do they?”
Rayla scowled at him, then looked to Callum, who was staring at her curious. “RUN!” Rayla shouted at them, and the boys booked it into the woods, Corvus trying to chase after them, but Rayla keeping him at bay. With a yelp, he fell into a trap left by a hunter, and Rayla ran after the boys, easily keeping up with them.
Corvus struggled for far too long in the hunter’s trap before breaking free. By the time he did, the trio was long gone. He took out a scroll and checked his orders. Yes, those were definitely the children his employer had hired him to find, their caring aunt who had been shocked and apalled to find out what Viren had done to them. She would not like to hear the company they had been keeping. He had to find them again, soon.

Hera
I understand this I'm heading to a huge trap
Bo
It's not necessarily a trap what's the place where there's a huge war going on and it's being run by demons that are there that eat humans strictly and other demons and it's not really what you think in the island is not free and it's not owned and run by humans and Hera is right you're going to hell you sort of know but really that hell's run by me for the most part although they're independent demons Dracula in the orc are independent but there's so many dragons down there won't be for long. Possibly while you're going down there some kind of a****** mission by Max because the orc in the Dracula's lost control and it was earlier by the way and it's still fighting while it's going on and it's pitiful and it says it all the time and people are pitiful I can't stand it we have this way of being assholes all the time trying to hide it and then you all talking about it all the time I'm going to go back to it and you two are masters of the obvious it's the retarded people back lost control of I've been trying to nail them and what I've been doing is ridiculous the quantity is ridiculous you don't understand you're some kind of animal and that's what satanists are and Hera can hear you perfectly. So your on a mission and you have something to do. But know this because you used to turn Us in if you found us if you ever did which I doubt you found us but that's what you people do she can be nice all you want but you're going to pay for your sins or almost sins are trying to I'm trying to say it you're going to hell your people are going to follow you because they plan to go get their torsos in the cold from the dragons and other and you can watch everybody that you know die and they're going to die in battle as if it were the Middle ages and you know what it's because of what you're saying because people will treat me like s*** because of Dave stager cuz he's Jesus Christ and everyone else sucks oh great that's why sitting here being a f****** huge a****** huge huge huge massive a****** to me now I remember that you don't know what it's like to be alone and poor and destitute stuck here with a whole bunch of screaming retarded mental f****** retard assholes you don't know you've always had money you've always been able to go around and change and move and do things you don't have to sit put and listen to this garbage we screamed at you but I know I can kill them all quite easily it's not like you so I'm going to say this he's always pissed off you never do anything right everything that screwed up in westborough and stuff it's cuz of Max and him there's nothing I can do you have to straighten out fly right and do something we all going to die are you cold down here and Matt wants to play a game of go fetch and that's what's going on bo says.
Hera Zues
Are these two have a fight all the time Hera and Bo and Zeus knows and he's always fighting her though that is and tell her to shut up and his stuff and and now they're in a mission to try and get the stuff back and the bodies I think it's hunky dough Lori and I think it's their plan and I think it's just stupid New Zealand movie lotr and you people are all out for lunch she has an idea where she's going and she's frightened cuz she saw those rivers of blood she knows what they do it's all like you don't know it all please talk to you you should use caution when you talk to us you should not be using the tone or any of the words you're just stupid as hell and need a lesson and he's been begging us to do it demanding getting here and roast these assholes alive or something you need to be taught a lesson in geez you kill so many of you a day it's almost impossible pull you all out you know blabbing while you're dying you're insane so I'm going to go ahead with our plan because it's working to shut you up it's a huge day it's a huge occasion with her leaving and he's right to yell at her put her in a place and say you're not going on a vacation you going to hell Mac thinks it's going to work I think it won't he's going to say that all the time well you know you're playing at work he doesn't understand the situation doesn't know what a dragon is for crying out loud is an idiot don't even want to knows it's like your friend the retarded key for Sutherland is a dragon slayer whatever his name is you're freaking demented husband holy s*** that's bad news and that's what he does seconds dirtbag Kazakhstan guy goes around defames everybody who has been Jason says what's bad is his true he was the biggest a****** we've ever seen get this whole place to this big pile of Jew mash that's where we're going so thank you Dave your wife is now a Jeopardy he doesn't like you for it she was nice to him when you were never around s*** you're horrible what a Jew bag Jesus you are I f****** can't stand you you stay away from me you white n***** I'll put you in the dirt
Anyways that's how it is it doesn't really like him at all and we should know and we should tell people he hates them he's tolerating her she's doing helpful things find out what she's trying to do to us since get the hell out of here don't bother me she wouldn't stop then he can one tormented her to doing tons of stuff he's a massive a****** too it's a huge prick too that was just as bad as people are horrendous assholes now I'm going to go down there and die just leave them there and lock them in and send him up there to die permanently anything like that that's a jackasses they don't have to do nothing
I'm ordering silence here I don't want to hear this constant conversation anymore people don't like it please look for somewhere else to be assigned to and actually I mean it I don't want this weather fast he doesn't either if you want to believe it out there to nail them and stuff that's what you do when you bring it here to try and threaten it off so it's a fight

Japan 2017 Day 8
September 17, 2017 Nagashima Spa Land Nagashima Photos
Sunday was planned as our last non—Tokyo day. Our Japan Rail pass was done after that day, but again we wake up to rain. We talked and talked and decided to take the hour and a half transit trip to Nagashima and hope for the best. We had to take 2 trains and a bus to get to the park. You can see Nagashima Spa Land from a distance. It's often considered the Cedar Point of Japan, and really, that fits well as a comparison. On a peninsula. You go over a causeway to get to it. You can see the massive rides in the distance.
Nagashima was very much a Cedar Point feeling park. Clean, large midways. Large coasters, new and old. Modern and classic flat rides. Water park. Hotel. Big ole’ Ferris Wheel (which just happen to be everywhere in Japan). We got there and honestly, it was mostly a worst case scenario. The rain subsided, but it was supposed to come back with a vengeance for the day. We didn’t want to pay $50 to go in and not ride anything, but there is a cheaper entrance fee and you can buy tickets. Isaac and I discussed it, asked if Steel Dragon would be open (it wasn’t running), was told it was unlikely, and at the time, the only coaster that was running was Arashi, the new for 2017 S&S 4D Freespin. Then, as we were talking to the gentleman at guest services, Acrobat, the parks newer B&M flying coaster, a clone of Manta in the U.S. opened.
I wasn’t happy, because this was the only chance I’d get at the park on this visit without spending way over budget to come back, and I wasn’t willing to do that. So we eventually decided to try to make the best of it, go in, and maybe get some credits and enjoy what we could of the park. Again, I wasn’t happy, but there’s nothing you can do when the island is getting hit by a typhoon. I wish I had planned for the water park, because it was open and not busy, but I thought it would be closed this time of year, as most waterparks in the country are.
Once we got into the park, we walked around and I took a few pics, though I wasn’t in the mood to take many. The rain wasn’t falling, but it was misting. Our first stop was to get tickets at a ticket machine and then Arashi, which was a walk on. This would be my first one of these, even though there are several in the states. I love 4D coasters, but my last ride on Green Lantern at SFMM wasn’t great. How would the S&S version compare?
Arashi-We got on and I have to say I loved the restraints. I wish a park would order a more traditional 4D with these restraints. You go up the vertical lift and the first drop gets ‘help’ to make your seat flip in the form of a copper fin passing thru a magnet. It was great! I was really kind of frightened, as you get major spinning on this ride. It was disorienting, had airtime, and parts feel like you’re flying, just before you flip upside down. The track drops out from under you, and on every dive, you flip even more before dropping into the brake run. I loved it.
Everything in the park is well taken care of and most of the park looks freshly painted. A few years ago, they expanded the park into a new plot of land, moved their old Arrow Corkscrew closer to Steel Dragon (and put a kids area on the Corkscrew’s old spot), moved their Ultra Twister into the new section, along with a slide ride, and then recently built a really nice looking Manta clone called Acrobat. It was open, so we headed there next. The line wasn’t long, and the station seemed huge. I should have taken more photos, but I was still fighting my bad mood. Pretty soon we were getting on the ride.
Acrobat-I’ve yet to ride Manta, but Acrobat was really well done. There’s the drop, then pretzel loop, but the rest of the ride is mostly turning, inline twists, and swoops, and it was fun. It evens borrowed Manta’s water effect, which was nice. Lots of fun, better than the Superman clones, but I like Tatsu and Flying Dino better.
One nice thing about the park is that they were announcing when a new ride was open, which we figured out after hearing an announcement about Ultra Twister and then seeing it run, to which we hurriedly got tickets and walked over to ride. I’ve always wanted to do one, and there are still a few in Japan, so this was my chance.
Ultra Twister-The vertical lift is kind of overdone now, but these started the trend. The first vertical drop was really good, and the hill after had nice airtime. Then you do a heart line roll, which is weird within the cage structure of the coaster, before hitting the brakes on the drop track, then dropping backwards, another heart line, a rampy drop, and then another heart line roll before heading to the station. It was fun, and looks really good with its current paint job. I enjoyed it.
After we got off we walked back over to Steel Dragon, which had people in the station working, but the line was not opened yet. Another ride opening made me hopeful that since the rain was holding off we might have a good day. So a few minutes later as we were hanging around Steel Dragon to see if anyone was doing anything (We were told at the gate that it had been prepped to run before the rain, and there was a train in the station), I saw White Cyclone start to cycle so I ran and got Isaac, who had tried to see how many people were in the station, and what was going on, and we went over. White Cyclone has a bad reputation, though it looks amazing. We headed thru the queue, waited for a few cycles, and then got on near the back.
White Cyclone-This ride looks beautiful, and is quite large, which oft leads to comparisons to the former Mean Streak at Cedar Point. Many people think it’s rough. Many others boring. Honestly, I went in planning to get the credit and be done with it, but surprisingly, I liked it. The first drop and hill were good. We had airtime on it, and though it was a little janky at the bottoms of the larger drops, it wasn’t terrible and I thought it was a fun ride. There are two helices which add to the fun, and the ending has several hills. I don’t know if it just ran well because of the rain and cooler weather, but I thought it was highly underrated as a coaster, and a lot of fun.
At this point, one side of the mouse was running (It was dead, so no need to run both sides), the gigantic Viking ship was running, the Giant Frisbee was running, most of the flat rides, the mine coaster, and then eventually Steel Dragon, so we decided to pay the difference and get an all day ride pass to just ride everything open.
After getting our wrist band, we headed to Steel Dragon, which was a 30 minute wait. First off, the music in the line is really obnoxious and annoying and I’ve spent over a week trying to forget it to no avail. But this was THE ride I came for, and now here I was, in line, ready to ride!
I was just getting into coasters in 2000. I was already a fan, but had just discovered online coaster communities, so the four biggest rides being built that year were Goliath at SFMM, which would open early in the year and be the tallest/fastest traditional lift coaster in the world until a few months later, when Cedar Point was debuting Millennium Force. I thought it was kinda boring looking. No loops, nothing. And Kings Island was building the tallest, fastest, only looping wooden coaster! Millennium Force opened and was the tallest/fastest traditional lift coaster in the world, for a few months until Steel Dragon 2000 opened. And though it’s still the longest coaster in the world, Steel Dragon is no longer the tallest traditional lift in the world (That just happens to be not too awful far from my house in Fury 325). But I’ve now ridden all 4 of those major coasters from 2000 multiple times (and said goodbye to Son of Beast).
Steel Dragon 2000-The ride is impressive looking. You get into the custom built B&M trains, the second set of trains the ride has had. I thought the lift would seem longer, as it’s not steep, has 2 chains on the lift, and is over 2 minutes long, but once we were off, we were near the top pretty quickly. That first drop is amazing. There's some rattling at the bottoms of the drops, but it wasn’t terrible. The B&M trains are very open. Then you got up and get decent floaty air on the next hill. Then you go up and top down into a lateral filled twisted section of track that you speed thru at the end turn around. The ride is basically the length of the entire park. Then you head back to the station on a series of hills and tunnels, all giving decent floater airtime. I liked the ride a lot. It was better than Steel Force, but rides like Phantom, Lightning Run, and Steel Eel show that Morgan can give better airtime. But this ride is fun and still very impressive.
We headed toward’s the park’s other entrance and then noticed they had started running the Shuttle Loop, and I love a good Schwarzkopf, so that's what we hit up next.
Shuttle Loop-With so few of these left, I’m glad this one opened and I didn’t have to miss it like Jet Star, which never opened. We sat in the back of this flywheel launched model and of course it was great. Nice launch, then the loop, spike, stall, backwards loop, backwards spike, stalls, and you’re done. A dying breed, but still so much fun.
Japan is known for their meandering Jet Coasters, which seem to be everywhere. I didn’t actually ride more than one on this trip, and it was at Nagashima.
Jet Coaster-This was similar in some ways to Cedar Point’s mine train. There was some airtime, and a stretch of straight track over the water. It was really a lot of fun, and there was even some airtime. Plus, another credit.
The mouse had been running, so we Got a quick ride on it now that we had wrist bands. It’s 2 standard portable mice, mirrored beside each other. Mice scare me, but I loved them, and it was another credit. Time was getting short and we wanted to do a few more things. The rain had held off and it ended up being a really great day. Overcast, but comfortable, with most rides operating. Next up was Corkscrew. This is a corkscrew clone, just like many before it, with a drop, turn, 2 inversions, and you’re done. And it’s still in the traditional blue/white color scheme. Just like the Myrtle Beach Pavilion’s and many others, it was a nice shot of nostalgia.
There was a walk through haunted attraction by corkscrew, so we did that next before heading over to the Ferris Wheel, which gave great views of the park and the surrounding bay. I had wanted to ride the Giant Frisbee (They have a regular and giant version), but we didn’t have time. There is, however, a flat ride at the park I was not going to miss. The world’s tallest (double) swinging ship ride, Viking. They had to wait for enough people, but it was really a lot of fun. It doesn’t swing as high as traditional swinging ships, but it’s fun. I thought it funny they have the Giant double swinging ships, a Galleon swinging ship, and an Intamin looping starship. This park has several similar rides.
We hit up White Cyclone again for another good ride, and then I rode Arashi by myself (Isaac wasn’t ready for more). We were going to ride Steel Dragon one more time, but there were people in line with terribly strong perfume that were over by Cyclone, so we went and did another ride first. The park has a flat where you stand in little ‘Jet ski’ type vehicles, and it’s in water, and it’s basically a water whip where you can use the rudder to swing out. We rode it and it was great! I wish more parks had these!
Finally we got one more ride on Steel Dragon to end the evening before heading back to the station. I had wanted to go back over by Acrobat and take some more photos, but we were directed away from the Acrobat plaza under Steel Dragon, towards our exit. We headed to the exit and purchased tickets for a bus back to the station. We really were fortunate that we were able to ride as much as we did. There were a lot of plans that changed towards the second week to accommodate weather, travel, etc. But we got a full day at Nagashima Spa Land, and it was worth it.
After getting to the station we were hungry, so we ate a quick bite at McDonalds and had a teriyaki burger on our way back up to Yokohama, just outside of Tokyo, where we would be based out of for the rest of the trip. It had been a long week, and I was tired, so the Shinkansen back was a nice break. We arrived Tsurumi station, walked to our hotel, which was fairly close, and checked in later Sunday evening.

54. 10. “Centaurs are humans, too!”
55. “Actually, we’re more biologically similar to the equine family tree, but I appreciate the sentiment.”
56. “Are you all know-it-alls, or are you the only one?”
Situational Prompts
1. This girl had no brokenness or issues. She was a person who’d seen blood, stared monsters in the face, and knew without a doubt her life would be hers again.
2. I sit back and appraise the wreckage. It’s like that, after a storm blows through. You weigh what’s salvageable against what’s lost. And you hope you find your heart somewhere among the disarray…because it’s hard to rebuild when the foundation has been ripped away.
3. Fate whispers to the warrior, “You cannot withstand the storm.”
And the warrior whispered back, “I am the storm.”
4. She never seemed shattered; to me, she was a breathtaking mosaic of all the battles she’s won.
5. But even professional assassins have hearts, and mothers.
6. They say I’m powerful. They say I am the darkness. They say that I instill fear into the hearts of many. It is said that even the Devil himself is afraid of me.
7. She wasn’t my twin. She was the mirror image; I’d just learned how to pull her out of the glass.
8. I try to be a good person, but every flaw, every mistake is taken into account. I have a lot of flaws and, according to my society, that makes me a terrible human being.
9. Oh, my dear, I was too curious. I wanted to know what was after. So, I jumped.
10. No matter how many times I tried to dismiss the thought, It kept snaking back around, ready to catch me whenever it could.
11. There was something surprisingly peaceful about being left lost and alone in the woods. If only I had the basic survival skills, I’d stay forever.
12. From the moment, I picked up a sword, there was a surge of adrenaline that didn’t stop. I felt like nothing could ever harm me again -and somehow, there was no guilt about causing the same for others.
13. My everything is their nothing, and they take that from me.
14. Her dreams have never followed the rules.
You aren’t supposed to feel pain in your dreams, but she can. Not all the time, but often.
You aren’t supposed to be able to read in dreams, but she has read cereal boxes and novels with equal ease.
The strangest part, however, is the falling: Everyone knows that if you fall in a dream, and you hit the ground, you never wake up.
Her?
She’s fallen from the sky, hit the ground with a thud, and woken up minutes later, none the worse for wear.
15. They’ve been enemies for as long as they can remember. But there was a time when they were the best of friends. What changed? Why can’t they remember?
16. As much as it pained to leave them all behind, I had my own life to live and I was tired of putting on the backburner for them.
17. They leave me alone with my thoughts. What a horrid punishment: to be hit by a tidal wave of self-destructive thoughts, day-after-day.

12 Best Kids Friendly Places to Visit Near Bengaluru
I grew up hearing about the soothing weather Bengaluru offers but sadly never got an excuse to excuse myself to visit the city but I often take virtual tours to some of the tourist attractions in the city, all thanks to Google Earth. During my virtual expedition, I stumbled upon some of the best sites I thought are perfect for kids, so after tons of research here I am with a list of the 12 places to visit with kids but only this time, outside the city. By reading this blog, you may get serious travelling goals with your kids when you can enjoy the great outdoor visiting the national parks and bird sanctuaries; the mystic beauty of the heritage sites and the illuminating night shows at the lustrous gardens built in a complete Islamic style of architecture. But these are not the only places to cover, kids who love glitz and glamour can visit the film city, there are trekking places for those who love adventure and also camping sites for those who enjoy dwelling in the wild. Don’t worry, I have also listed less adrenaline-pumping places to that can be suitable for both kids and you, come let us scroll down to know more.

Bannerghatta National Park: A place where kids can get first hand wildlife experience
As an 8-year-old, wildlife was something new to me, something magical yet realistic, the only thing I remember was seeing a beautiful red panda running through the bushes finally climbing a tree. Such instances make childhood memories worth remembering, so why not you do the same for your kids. Before 10 years of age it is the best time to take your kids to the national parks and for that matter, you can visit Bannerghatta National Park located just an hour away from the city centre of Bengaluru. Since you’re travelling with kids, chances are you may get exhausted by the end of the day and to relieve your tiredness; BNP has jungle lodges and resorts like Muyura Vanashree that offers sleeping accommodation and restaurants to fill your tummy. And to make things even more convenient, there is another restaurant called Hill View located in the vicinity of the national park. In addition to witnessing beautiful animals via safari, the park also facilitates boating activities to relax.

Getting bored is out question when you visit Innovative Film City and I mean for both kids and parents. This entertaining hub has a lot of kid-friendly activities where you get to see amazing attractions and museums, venture on adventure sports and explore the studios by that I mean the 3D ones. Basically, you’ll make the day out of it and your kids won’t make haste to go home. At the film city near Bengaluru, the attractions that can lure your kids is probably the Cartoon City where you’ll be surrounded by old and new toon friends, caution, even you (parent) will be a kid again. There are other attractions too like the Aqua Kingdom where you can soak in the waters in hot summers and enjoy watersports like a wave pool, lazy rivers and slides. Do you love dinosaurs, well then experience the lost world where dinos rule at Dino Park and also explore the Haunted Mansion where skeletons, zombies and everything scary will to life. There are other fun things to do here like Go Karting, Bungy Jumping and even a Bull Ride. What’s best are the tours to studios like Bigg Boss House and the Innovative Film Academy along with museums such as Wax Museum and Tribal Museum that helps kids learn and educate about filmmaking and art and craft.

The park also features some rides for adults like Freefall Crazy Cruise, Dragon’s Den etc. Mysore Zoo on the other hand is also a notable place to visit that houses all sorts of animals and birds like anacondas, zebras, baboons, tigers etc. If you are bored of that, visit the Rail Museum which is another best attraction for kids because along with exploring the toy train and vintage locomotives, the exhibits also offer kids very informative tour around the museum. Shivanasamudra Waterfalls: A soothing paradise of waterfalls where not only you but even your kids will not want to leave from
The fresh smell of the waft that gently pass through the air when the water hits the hard surface of the rocks has always been my favourite sight to see. Similar to the national parks, this is one of the most cherished memories that I’d like to revisit time and again. But coming back to the waterfalls there in a distant place three-hour drive from Bengaluru is a small island city of Shivanasamudra that offers a visual treat of Barachukki and Gaganachukki waterfalls. What can you do here is, of course, adore the phenomenal sight from the two respective viewpoints, there is also another viewpoint called Dargah which offers a spectacular sight of the waterfall. Asia’s first hydroelectric power station is also located in Shivanasamudra built in 1902. Shivanasamudra also has a few ancient temples and a boating facility near Madhya Ranga Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, which is one of the renowned temples in the whole of Karnataka.

Since it is located on the banks of River Cauvery with a wide expanse of deciduous forests, it gives an inviting feel not only to birds but also aviary lovers. One of the fascinating things you’ll get to see as soon as you enter the bird sanctuary is probably the huge bamboo trees which the city dweller hardly get to see. Similarly, a collection of eucalyptus, figs, karanji, jamun also makes the park radiant. Along with bird species such as white ibis, little cormorant, spoon bills, painted stork, open-billed stork, lesser whistling teal and many more, this sanctuary also is home to mammals and reptiles like common mongoose, common otter, flying fox, bonnet macaque, palm civet and marsh crocodile. Janapada Loka: A destination that treasures crafts and artworks offering insights on state’s culture
You’ll come across Janapada Loka or Folk World en route Mysuru from Bengaluru and it is often ignored by many passersby but this museum is a must visit for all the right reasons. Preserving the rural Karnataka folk culture, here a sense of old world charm can be felt. I know it may not seem to be an ideal place for kids, but truth be told, it could help in education. The museum treasures a collection of shadow puppets that is around 500-year-old, folk-art objects, musical instruments, temple chariots, festival costumes and replica of a traditional Karnataka village. One of the best things about Janapada Loka is that it offers a platform for local musicians, rural artisans and even craftspeople to highlight their artworks. The main attractions of Janapada Loka, however, are the multiple sculptures of the rural Karnataka folk culture. A visit here provides an opportunity to witness the traditions of Karnataka all in one place, now, the next time you pass by, make sure to at least spend some time here, take lots of pictures and buy souvenirs. Channapatna: A place to learn the ancient method of toy making
Welcome to the ‘Toy Town’ of Karnataka in Channapatna, a small south Indian destination famed for the wooden toys and lacquerware. The speciality of the toys here are that, they are made from soft ivory wood completely prepared from vegetable dyes, interesting isn’t it? You can come with kids and your visit here will be even more exciting, take a look around the toy bazaar you’ll see an assortment of Channapatna toys displayed by the artisans. If we go back to the history to unravel on how it all started, Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore invited artisans from Persia and trained them to make wooden toys. But who says toys are only for kids, in fact, there are also a number small toys with a hook that work best as a keychain or something to hang on your car mirror or simply at home. Besides visiting the toy bazaar, Channapatna also lets you visit the temple of Navaneetha Krishna, visit wine testing and also the Bharat Art And Crafts.

Channarayana Durga: A perfect trek to find complete isolation, a rustic fort and few ancient temples
For little adventurous ones, Channarayana Durga is a perfect destination to venture on a trek to a fort located on a hill. This trek is considered to be a moderate all year round, but I’d rather stay away during the monsoons since the stones remain slippery. For beginner kids who enjoy trek, this is not a bad option, however, there are no signboards to make aware of the directions due to fewer tourists, but that was years ago, hopefully, there are a few signs put up now. Thankfully, guides can also be hired form the village in case you feel safer that way. The trek to the hill fort starts from a small village of the same name, Channarayana Durga and it has three stages. The top most part of the fort consists of pond, temples and vegetation, the second rather has the ruins damaged by treasure hunters, it was probably used for storing ammunition and food grains. There is also a watchtower that overlooks at the dry green shrub and hillocks in the third part of the fort. Note: During the medieval times, this ancient Channarayana Durga was one of the most prised forts and many battles were fought for its possession finally falling into the hands of the Maratha Kingdom.

Melukote: A destination filled with rich heritage temples, each displaying exquisite architecture
A land filled with the richness of heritage, Melukote is one of the sacred destinations in the whole of Karnataka surrounded by ancient temples each telling stories through their architecture. This place is famous for the temple of Cheluvanarayana Swamy that is beautifully built displaying intricate design and an exquisite collection of the jewels. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and it is also believed to have visited by Lord Ram. During the famous festival of Vairamudi Sevam, the idol is paraded around the temple wearing a diamond crown which is displayed only during special occasions. If you are planning to visit here during the months of March-April, make sure to witness this phenomenal event. Yoga Narasimha Temple is also another most visited shrine located on a hilltop which makes it a vantage point for birdwatching. Dedicated to the Lord Yoga Narasimha, it is said that the King of Mysore presented a golden crown to the Lord here. Apart from the heritage attractions, Melukote Temple Wildlife Sanctuary is another wildlife place famous for housing wild cats like leopard, langur, pangolin and bonnet macaque.

Bheemeshwari: A place perfect for kids to experience wildlife and grownups to plunge in the lap of luxury
Something the kids would enjoy and perhaps never forget, I certainly wouldn’t, Bheemeshwari is one of the best places for camping and experiencing jungle life. It does not matter whether you’re visiting with kids just to be closer to nature or being a part of thrilling adventure activities. Bheemeshwari’s Nature and Adventure Camp will certainly offer a great weekend holiday for kids as well as grown-ups. The adventure sports the camp offers are zip-lining, rope walking, and even kayaking, for wildlife seekers, you can spot animals like elephants, deer, turtles, crocodiles, snakes and a lot of bird species and the largest game fish know to all fishing lovers, the great mahseer. I’d say a stay here is an experience since Bheemeshwari Nature and Adventure Camp features five jungle camps and around eighteen resorts and even tree houses and charming huts each offering their best facilities all at a comfort to the wallet prices (depends on how you like your stay).

If you haven’t read already, read our review of the PS4 version of Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, as this review serves to compliment the original game while focusing on the difference of the Nintendo Switch version. Let it be clear, this is the same game that has been released on the PS4 back in 2015. The general content and story has not changed, an it doesn’t need to. This is the same ye old faithful Disgaea you know back when it first appeared on PS2. If you had not bought the original game back on the PS4, this is the version you must have if you own a Nintendo Switch. Simply, Disgaea 5 Complete is the definitive version of an already great SRPG that the series is known for.
Title: Disgaea 5: Complete
Platform(s):Nintendo Switch
Publisher(s): NIS America
Developer(s): Nippon Ichi Software
Release Date(s): 05/23/17 (Switch) Price: $59.99 (USD)
(Disclosure: Product code was provided by Nippon Ichi Software America for this review.)
Well this somewhat tough, as it is hard not to repeat what has already been said when the first iteration came out. So in case for those who haven’t heard or played a Disgaea game, where in the many Netherworlds have you been? All you need to know about the Disgaea franchise is that it is bonkers, nonsensical, very anime, and over top in terms of gameplay, story and overall fun. Want to do billion points of damage? Be over level 9,000? Throw exploding penguins just for the sick guilty pleasure? No problem! Disgaea has you covered. The series has covered the subjects of a coming of age story, saving your family and world, questioning of your school system and friendship, and the importance of a promise unforgotten. This time around, it all about revenge and the many form it takes.
#gallery-0-13 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-13 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
The story is that the Lost Army, led by Demon Emperor Void Dark, has been conquering Netherworlds in the goal of realm conquest. We then get into a battle and introduced to the “Overlord of Gorgeous” Seraphina facing off an army of Lost, using an army of hopeless but famous mascots of Disgaea, Prinnies. Needless to say, never bet on the Prinnies. Then we have another protagonist coming in, Killia who casually walks in the middle of the battle field , sits down, and eats a rice bowl. After filling up, he beats up the Lost army in one black screen. Just another day in the Disgaea Netherworld. After the battle, Seraphina scouts/forces Killia to join her to assist her goal of extracting vengeance from Void Dark under the reason of him taking away her freedom from a political marriage. All you need to know is that Seraphina is a grade A pompous demon, with stuck up Queen mentality and all. You will hear her pompous laugh “Ohohohoho~” many times in the story. This may be in your preference, or your bane of existence. After being set up in Seraphina’s pocket dimension, which will serve as your hub, you’re free to take control and enact your vengeance.
I will reiterate again, Disgaea is very anime. This is only emphasized by the cast and amazing voice work that the series is known for. While I can understand the annoyance of Seraphina’s laugh and demeanor, it only serves as the charm, if stereotypical, of the ojou roles of many anime and cartoons. Kira Buckland really brings out the pompous attitude that Seraphina is. However, I really have to give it to Kaji Tang’s role of Red Magnus, the Overlord of Scorching Flame. I can’t help but be charmed by this character and how he has to emphasize his statement with “super” every chance he gets. Other great characters is the adorable Usalia, the Toto Bunny heir with a taste for curry, riding a yellow Prinny. And Christo, who is an overlord of a certain giant Netherworld. There are many other memorable characters that you will meet along your journey. All you need to know about the characters of Disgaea is that they will stick to your memory with their quirkiness and charm.
I like this guy.
Gameplay is the same formula that Disgaea is known for these many years. You send out your units on the field and place them in position to set off combos, defensive lines, and all the strategies that goes with the strategic RPG the genre. The stack and throw system remains unchanged, so if you want to make a tower of your units to take on you foes or to get you units farther, you a free to do so. What sets it apart from the previous entries is that they have added a new revenge mechanic, in which if your enemies kill or damage your units, it will fill a meter and once it fill up,it will grant that character certain benefits, such as all attacks will be critical, less damage taken, as well as allow certain characters to use their unique skills, like Seraphina’s Balor Gaze . For me, I always want to see the four man combos that can be pulled off and the crazy animations that goes along with it. Using you partner as a club, or summon a spirit bomb ala Dragon Ball.
So satisfying
As usual, it is all about the strategy when it comes to Disgaea, especially when it comes to Geo Blocks, which will either aid you with benefits or hinder you with detriments. There are many times that I come across Geo Block puzzles and it will mess with my head so much that it becomes challenging and slightly frustrating. Even after you are done with the main story, there is the Item World, another main staple of Disgaea. They are not kidding when they say you can sink hundreds of hours grinding to astronomical levels and upgrading your weapons. Each item has their own world, so instead on grinding on story maps, you can go into your items and grind there. Should you clear set number of levels in the item world, it only serves to power up you weapons, armor and so forth. Then there is the character customization, and by the demons lords there is ALOT. You can create your own demons to join your squad should you so choose. If you want a legion of Nekomatas or creation you elite legion of Prinnies, by all means do so. From the Item World, to character customization, to multiple endings of the game, you will sink a lot of time in any Disgaea game, should you so choose.
Now the part that you are asking: What sets this version apart from the original of the PS4?
To be honest, not a whole much. The benefit of getting this version of the game is that it includes all released DLC in the package. If you haven’t shelled out for the DLC that was released on PS4, then this version is the one one to get. This includes all dlc character class, like the fan favorite Kunoichi. Characters that join you right from the get-go from Nippon Ichi’s other games, like The Witch and the Hundred Knight’s Metallia and Disgaea D2 Female Laharl. Needless to say, the DLC characters make the beginning of the game very easy . So if you just want to just plow through the story, you can do so with some great characters to start off. Also included is the challenge maps in which you can recruit the other protagonists of previous games, including the original Laharl. All you need to do is find the NPC that is responsible for the Special content. There you can claim your DLC. No muss or fuss about it.
#gallery-0-14 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-14 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-14 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-14 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Added is also in game achievements. Since Nintendo doesn’t have a trophy/achievement system, NIS wanted to you to know that you are doing something good. This is a good call back of PS4 trophies as they also pop up in a similar fashion. This only furthers replay value to the already hundreds of hours that you can invest in.
#gallery-0-15 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-15 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Lastly, the fact of the Switch’s mobility and controls. Personally, it took some time to transition form the PS4 controller to the Switch Pro Controller/Joy Cons. Since this a grid based SRPG, a directional pad is generally preferred. However with the Joy Cons, there is no D-pad. And if you use the pro controller, it’s located in the lower part of your left thumb and not in the natural position. If felt unusual using a control stick to control the cursor and characters, but this comes down to preference. Also some trouble is using the D-buttons buttons in combination of the Left joy-Con to control the Camera zoom. It felt somewhat alien, but I eventually adapted through trial and error. Also, you cannot play it with a single Joy Con on its side.
Due to the fact that it is now on the Switch, it really gives you no reason to stop playing this game. I have taken it to my work place to continue on with the story, while also grinding characters when I can. I was reminded of the PSP Disgaea that was released years back. Make no mistake that this is a full on Disgaea game. Either that you take it with you or playing it while docked, you will get your money’s worth regardless. Though it may be hard to justify buying it again if you own the original, it is still a solid title regardless. If this is your first rendezvous with Disgaea and all you have is a Switch, then by all means pick this version up. Disgaea 5 Complete is the version you will be happy to have in your Switch library.
Protagonists speaks with their backs

I’ve hit the Big 4-6 today. Past the decade midpoint. On the downhill slide to 50.
Woo hoo, people, it’s party time!
In honor of this momentous occasion, here are 46 tidbits for the day.
1. Birthday cake is overrated. Give me pound cake or anything from Maxie B’s and I’m one happy camper.
2. Watching someone else at a restaurant get a birthday serenade is always more fun than being on the receiving end.
3. Margarita on the rocks, no salt, please.
4. It’s crazy what a difference ten pounds makes. I try not to pass on my body issues but come on.
5. Jack Bauer spends 30% of the time repeating his lines in an increasingly hoarse yell. I wonder how he kept from losing his voice.
6. I hear herbal tea is good for that.
7. I spent the car ride to school trying to explain Putin to T-man. Russia is a difficult concept to grasp for someone born in 21st century America.
8. I’m sure the magic of spandex can be explained by some sort of molecular structure thing, but I didn’t pay enough attention in science.
9. Phoebe snores. Loudly.
10. Mom and dad took a bunch of my friends to Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour for one of my birthdays. We ordered their specialty – an indescribably humongous sundae, two dozen scoops of ice cream, toppings, a tower of whipped cream – it was a veritable mountain of deliciousness, and the servers ran it to the table on a stretcher to the sound of a fire engine siren.
11. It’s possible my family of four could eat that entire thing today. We really like ice cream.
12. And cheeseburgers.
13. My kids are fascinated by the fact that none of the hotels we visit has a thirteenth floor.
14. Bear asks me all the time what it’s like inside the jail when we drive past. I wonder why she thinks I know.
15. This may become my favorite form of writing since my brain jumps around like this. All. the. time.
16. My parents hung out upstairs so I could have a sweet sixteen party in the family room. No, it wouldn’t have made the cut for MTV, but it was pretty awesome nonetheless.
17. It was almost ruined by this cute but crazy boy who was extremely committed to convincing me his life was in danger. Surprise, surprise – he played Dungeons and Dragons.
18. I was stupid enough to get sucked in; I was smart enough to kick him out before the end of the night. It took a while to convince him to stop contacting me altogether. (Can you say stalker?)
19. From then on, Dungeons and Dragons was a big red flag for me.
20. Is that game even around anymore?
21. I spent my twenty-first birthday with BrightSide. We went to a bar, had a few drinks, and then I ordered an ice cream sundae. ‘Cause I’m a party animal like that.
22. BrightSide got the kids interested in watching Lie To Me. It’s good because they’re learning to read people. On the other hand, we’re losing a bit of our edge when it comes to spotting their lies.
23. I’ve finally linked up streaming video through Amazon and it is awesome! It’s beyond awesome! It’s bee-awesome!! (Shout out to Bolt.)
24. I’ve also realized how many of my shows have profanity, sex, and/or violence.
25. There’s a sliding scale for acceptable TV when other people are around. I can watch certain things comfortably when workers are here, others when the kids are in and out, still others when the neighbors’ kids are visiting.
26. This is why I’ve got everything from 24 to Suits to The Good Wife and Downton Abbey loaded on my watchlist.
27. It also probably means I should watch less tv.
28. Some days I like the background noise, though.
29. T-man walked through the family room recently and pronounced the hanging family photos “creepy” because our eyes follow him around the room. I say the more surveillance the better.
30. I got a tattoo for my thirtieth birthday. BrightSide is not a fan, but he came with me anyway. Good man.
31. Sista-friend has a saying: “I Do Big Time Stuff.” Find an enormous snake (or two) hanging from your power box? (true story) The kids are present, you can’t freak out, and your hubby says you can handle it. Here’s the internal dialogue: I can do this, I can do this, I Do Big Time Stuff, I CAN DO THIS!! Or you open your back door to find a giant spider eyeballing you. (true story) It is huge. HUGE. But you have let the dogs out so you can’t run screaming for the hills. Internal dialogue: I can do this. I can do this. It’s not moving, it’s not staring at me, just hang on, I DO BIG TIME STUFF AND I CAN DO THIS.
I found THIS right outside our back door recently. They tell me it’s a friendly writing spider but still…
32. Bee gave me the best throw for Christmas. It’s downy soft, covers me from head to toe, and feels like a warm hug on a rainy day. Phoebe has been trying to steal it all week.
33. I can’t blame her. I’d trick a small child to steal this blanket. I mean, I’d give her ice cream to make up for it, but I’d steal it all the same.
34. I’ve started reading Bee’s other gift, Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled World by Kristen Welch. Any time I tell people this they exclaim “You’ve got great kids!” Well, (ahem) yes…but being selfish is human nature, and we’re doing our best to counteract that.
35. The ladies on Downton Abbey wear the most fabulous hats. I wonder why this fell out of style, unless it was because you’re bound to have horrible hat head once you take it off.
36. Of course, I’d only have to worry about hat head if I invested time in fixing my hair.
37. Which I don’t.
38. My neighbor just called to get my vet’s emergency number for her dog. I don’t know whether to be happy I could help or horrified that Gracie’s antics have made me this sort of resource.
39. I also think it’s something of a miracle Gracie hasn’t needed that particular phone number yet.
40. Birthday candles that won’t blow out are cruel. Who gets off pranking the birthday kid?!
41. I don’t understand people who put a slice of cake and ice cream on your plate then hand you a fork.
42. What’s with piñatas? Who thought it was a good idea to blindfold kids, let them swing a stick wildly, then have them swarm the candy?
43. How young is too young for orthopedic shoes? I’m asking for a friend.
44. I’ve been able to keep one houseplant alive in my entire adult life. One. I’m like the Dr. Kevorkian of plant life.
45. After forty-six years on this planet I’ve accepted these truths: yawns and smiles are contagious, singing almost always lifts my spirits, and dancing around with my kids makes them laugh.
46. And yoga pants are da bomb.
Passing the midpoint. #milestone #mylife #birthday #RFTM I've hit the Big 4-6 today. Past the decade midpoint. On the downhill slide to 50.
