my dad, bless him, only sort of processes most of the things i say to him and due to "is aged mid-sixties" reasons will also not recall all of the things he DOES process immediately. so every january we go to a fly fishing show and so every single year for the past ~5 i've been like "you know in that nbc show hannibal they have the lead detective fly fish. he ties his own flies even, and hannibal lector frames him by tying human remains into his flies" and my dad is like woag... cool show. every year
#He never watches the show even tho I tell him he should. Same w The Terror#It's still nice at the shows tho cause he's always telling booth owners or seminar givers something like#'when your 30 yr old daughter calls you up and asks you to go fishing you go running!!' he's so excited#I like fishing well enough but I wouldn't ever do it without him. It's for the bonding#I love how happy it makes him. We went to above fly fishing show this past weekend#And we're going again THIS weekend. To the show in New Jersey. #life with airy#he's been quotable this weekend#he's also SUPER MAD with me because a dove flew into our house and was fluttering around and threatening to fly into the ceiling fan#and I caught it in a towel and took it to the door to release it#and it was flapping like crazy as wild birds tend to do when you have caught them in a towel and are trying to hold them securely#without crushing their little bird bodies#and he feels that I subjected it to unnecessary stress#well sorry I tried to get it out of the house because your little sisters were squealing with glee at the disruption#and your grandmother was wild with fear lest it shit on her pelmets#and your grandfather was helpfully pointing out that our curtains technically don't have pelmets#and quite frankly it did not seem like a safe environment#left to myself I would have liked to just open the doors and windows and be quiet for a while and see if it found its way out#I didn't have that option!
