when people refer to canon story-relevant kingdom hearts games as ‘spinoffs’ it makes me sad not only for the obvious reasons i always say but also bc like man i WISH this series had spinoffs. imagine what they could do if they had permission from nomura to truly go off the rails and ignore the greater canon for a second and just do some fun whimsical plotless thing in an alternate universe. imagine a fishing/boating game on destiny islands. kh fighting game. it is an injustice that we have been deprived of kingdom karts. can anyone hear me

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere but it feels relevant again in light of the most recent episode. Something that’s really fascinating to me about Orym’s grief in comparison to the rest of the hells’ grief is that his is the youngest/most fresh and because of that tends to be the most volatile when it is triggered (aside from FCG, who was two and obviously The Most volatile when triggered.)
As in: prior to the attack on Zephrah, Orym was leading a normal, happy, casual life! with family who loved him and still do! Grief was something that was inflicted upon him via Ludinus’ machinations, whereas with characters like Imogen or Ashton, grief has been the background tapestry of their entire lives. And I think that shows in how the rest of them are largely able to, if not see past completely (Imogen/Laudna/Chetney) then at least temper/direct their vitriol or grief (Ashton/Fearne/Chetney again) to where it is most effective. (There is a glaring reason, for example, that Imogen scolded Orym for the way he reacted to Liliana and not Ashton. Because Ashton’s anger was directed in a way that was ultimately protective of Imogen—most effective—and Orym’s was founded solely in his personal grief.)
He wants Imogen to have her mom and he wants Lilliana to be salvageable for Imogen because he loves Imogen. But his love for the people in his present actively and consistently tend to conflict with the love he has for the people in his past. They are in a constant battle and Orym—he cannot fathom losing either of them.
(Or, to that point, recognize that allowing empathy to take root in him for the enemy isn't losing one of them.)
It is deeply poignant, then, that Orym’s grief is symbolized by both a sword and shield. It is something he wields as a blade when he feels his philosophy being threatened by certain conversational threads (as he believes it is one of the only things he has left of Will and Derrig, and is therefore desperately clinging onto with both bloody hands even if it makes him, occasionally, a hypocrite), but also something he can use in defense of the people he presently loves—if that provocative, blade-grief side of him does not push them—or himself—away first.
(it won’t—he is as loved by the hells as he loves them. he just needs to—as laudna so beautifully said—say and hear it more often.)

The racism my beloved Simon had to face….my baby. 🥺💔
Although painful to watch, it felt incredibly validating. It was so annoying watching some people say this show was “only about class” while dismissing the BS that Simon had to go through. The abuse was ten fold because he’s POC and S3 finally exposed that.
That being said, and on a more positive note, it was so incredibly sexy when Simon sang happy birthday to Wille in Spanish (he feels safe with him!) and when Wille admitted to fantasizing about stroking those beautiful curlssss (and then actually did it). 🥹❤️🩹
Wilmon forever. 🤎🤍

Steve has to wear jeans all summer, even on the hottest days when all he wants is to wear shorts, because Eddie keeps biting his legs (mostly his thighs). Honestly, he’d never admit it, but he doesn’t mind the biting—maybe even likes it—it’s just that sometimes Eddie leaves bite marks and they’re getting hard to explain
(This starts before they get together by the way)

Fiona and Cake spoilers seriously
(Something I noticed abt Betty and Simons relationship)
I love Betty and Simon’s relationship, I think their back story is so cute and romantic and all that lovely stuff don’t get me wrong.
But there’s this under tone of Betty constantly giving things up for Simon and we don’t really talk about it a lot???
Like, Betty let Simon have his moment with the artifact and the pubic, she also doesn’t go to her trip in favor of going on an expedition with Simon. Then when she goes to leave again she stays for Simon.
Even Fiona is like “you went with her on the bus?” And Simon just looks all confused like “what? No, why would I do that?” Like- hello???
Then after that she gave up her entire life and mind to get Simon back to the point where she literally says “I don’t know who I am without him anymore.” And that just sucks! Since the beginning Betty has been the one giving up the most, her mind, her own possible career, and it’s a story of love of course and it’s very sweet but it’s also a story of sacrifice.
Their love wasn’t a perfect solution, it was already sort of imbalanced when it started and I lowkey love how we see those cracks even before they’re together.
Again, I love their relationship and I think it’s sweet. I just think we should talk about Betty’s side more, especially when she tells a story of what most women do in relationships, sacrifice.

Log date 510: today human Max is not here and that is disappointing as I have tremendous amounts of fun when he is here
Log date 511: human Max is still not here, maybe he is sick? I will ask Giver what helps humans get better when sick and then have my drone deliver it to him!
Log date 515: …human Max is still not here and it is the end of the week as he would call it…I miss him
Log date 518: Human Max is here! I have missed him greatly for he is the most fun one! We will play catch and build and draw and, and…human Max is sad today…
Log date 520: He is still sad. He plays catch and draws and builds but is still sad…this is not fun for me. He is not fun.
Log date 522: ….human Max lost his Giver. His Giver was hit by a transportation vehicle and died in the medical bay. He couldn’t say good bye as he is here and she was light years away in Earth…
Log date 522-b: I told Human Max he is not fun. That he is sad. He lied and said he was okay and forced a smile. I told him he is my favourite because he is the most fun but it’s okay to not always be fun… I asked him about his Giver and he told me stories of her. Soon everyone sat down to hear the stories and still stayed when he cried.
Log date 523: Human Max will be gone for a while until he is better. I miss him because he is fun but I want him to be better because I have the most fun when he is feeling well. He lost his Giver and that will take a while for him to be okay…and I will wait patiently for that

HUGE FAN of Fujitaka’s expression in the first page here. That shocked stare! THAT HARSH EXPRESSION. Mentally cutting this picture out and sticking it my little scrap book. Love this for him.
But also the elaboration he gives that makes it clear that the pool is somewhat sentient? And just continued the ritual because it just really likes Sakura? And that the water is like ACTIVELY CHOOSING to let the ritual happen each time? Water-san is an actual character and I instantly love them. Just letting Sakura get away with things because they like Sakura so much? The most relatable. Wouldn’t we all?
I ALSO find it somewhat hilarious that the rules are something like “no-one else in the world can go into the ruins during the ritual” but because Lava Lamp technically isn’t someone in the world he can just kind of do it.
Even more points for Fujitaka being an active and responsible adult and saying “Um actually you’re like 6 or 7 I can’t let a child go into a dangerous situation”. WILD that this stands out to me as an unusual thing in fiction. We love a trustworthy responsible father figure!
Though of course Lava Lamp interrupts to say that he’s absolutely going anyway. He is a Syaoran after all.
(Is this the thing that ruins things? Is it the fact that he’s there, or was it going to happen either way?)
SHE’S BEEN DOING THIS SINCE SHE WAS THREE?
HOLY SHIT.

Yeah we’re talking about how it’s gonna hurt that Percy’s first friends at camp, Luke and Chris, are gonna betray him, but have we not considered how ice cold Battle of the Labyrinth will be for Chris?
They’re showing Chris Rodriguez and Luke Castellan as pretty close friends and brothers. They’re always together, and that bond we can collect is in part because of the time they’ve spent at camp, and certainly in part because of their shared affiliations. Yeah, they’re the children of Hermes, that’s an innate connection, but they’ve both seen kids filter in and out of the cabin, they’ve had time to build their resentments. Based on how they stick together, they’ve had time to commiserate that.
So how badly will it hurt Chris when he’s sent into the Labyrinth, driven insane and thusly abandoned by his brother? When he’s brought back to health not at the Princess Andromeda, but at Camp? When he realizes their bond was more important to him than it was to Luke? He wasn’t important enough to try and heal, and at the end of the day, he was another pawn.

alright so now that we’ve gotten some actual crumbs, it feels like it’s a good time to lay out my prediction for what da4 is going to look like. writing this in a letter and mailing it to myself
we are part of an underground organization formed from the ruins of the inquisition to stop solas from ending the world
meanwhile the wardens have been researching the blight/the location of the archdemons and discover some secret about the location of the black city/what is actually contained in it
we’re supposed to be shocked at the reveal that the evanuris are trapped in the black city and the maker doesn’t exist
the ancient elves were in control of some crazy mutating technology (like in hormak) and that was the original source of the darkspawn. the whole thing about them being from the deep roads and a dwarf concern was actually just a red herring, they’re just underground because they’re powered by lyrium and this has ALSO been an elf thing the whole time :)
anyway, now we need to Double Make Sure the veil stays up because the evanuris have something even worse cooking up in the black city and we need to prevent them from unleashing a super blight and destroying all life, and our job is to convince solas to give up, not because we disagree with his plan but because his actions will have unintended consequences. even if he doesn’t care about everyone else and wants to rebuild the world, he won’t even be able to do THAT because the super blight will kill elves too. so although we WERE enemies we will have to band together to defeat the greater threat etc. it will be optional to recruit him as an ally/advisor, or you can just fight him directly and take control of his forces
we will have to cross into the fade AGAIN and storm the black city directly to put a stop to whatever’s going on in there

There's so little Shockwave work on the internet in terms of him being loved and cared for it maketh me sad :c
I've recently gained interest in MegaShock cus those two are muv more opposites than MegOp is and I like to think that Megatron likes to take care of Shockwave after he was left stranded on Cybertron for so long and rationing so strictly to ensure his survival
Shockwave knows he should stop accepting all the pampering and care and food from Megatron, but it's too tempting to reject because being alone for so long was terrible, even for his solitude ass (that has grown too big for a soldier of war to be carrying around). So when Megatron calls him for a private discussion his will is weak to the snacks and extra cubes their lord offers him. And when Megatron stands close, trying to share his EM field with him, Shockwave can't help but press closure and feel the warmth of their frames nearly or absolutely touching when they hope no one can see
Now he's fat. Round and soft and plush and jiggly with a lot of fat. It's undeniable that Megatron enjoys his soft form, and Shockwave can't deny he loves to feel his own fatness, yet it's undeniable that Megatron's attention has majorly shifted from the war to him...
Idek if this is your type of thing so apologies 🙏🏾

Ok so I’ll be entirely transparent I don’t know much about the feederism scene, but I think Megatron taking care of his soldiers like a good leader is pretty sweet. And you’re right Shockwave deserves to be loved and taken care of
I’d imagine because of his beginnings Megatron gets a sense of satisfaction from being the kind of leader who can provide for his men, especially when they’ve gone through something, to him it’s the ultimate ‘up yours’ to the old government that everyone under his rule can be provided for. Because energon scarcity was such a big thing before the war Megatron has an investment in making sure his closest are well and fed at all times. I also think Shockwave being unable to resist Megatrons affection despite not seeing the logic in the extra attention is cute too

The Originals was supposed to be about “family” and takes place in New Orleans but the one person who is an actual Mikaelson, an important character and actually studies witchcraft(I think?) and has years of relationships with witches and is erased from the siblings narrative(his death literally) and the narrative in general until it was “necessary” to acknowledge his existence in flashbacks and conversations. He had so much potential and so much to offer to both shows.
