all of the moments that led me to you.
warning: steve's black eye (nothing new), violence, mentions of blood, a fight between steve x billy
pairing: steve x reader, light billy x reader (not really, this isn't a love triangle lol)
words: 4.5k+
summary: the title speaks for itself -- a series of moments with steve harrington
an: i was going to post everything as one fic but i kind of hit writer's block in the middle of year 1985 so i'll post this for now instead and hopefully gain some inspiration to continue :)
-
yr. 1984
i. the first meeting ft. dustin henderson
the words “code red” hitting your ears every five seconds, the stomping of feet running around the house, the back door opening and closing several times - babysitting is weird. not one kid is ever the same, some are easy-going, others can be a real pain in the ass.
you hoped you got an easy kid today. one that just stays in front of the television, binging on crackers and occasionally asking for your help. obviously, you were wrong.
if it wasn’t for the fact that it pays well while simultaneously allowing you to do some of your own studies and looking good on your college resume, you wouldn’t even be here.
but you are here. seated inside the henderson household.
“hey y/n, can you please drive me to my friend mike’s house?,” dustin runs into the living room, an exasperated expression on his face, interrupting your reading.
“are you okay?” you ask, worried about the kid you just met when his mother called an hour ago trailing on about how she saw your babysitting flyer some time back. and even though she knew that she had to book a date at least two days beforehand, she still asked if you could watch over her son.
“just for today” she said, as she needed to look for her missing cat. her promise of double pay, convincing you to accept her request.
“i’m fine, i just really need you to drive me to mike’s,” dustin says hurriedly, eyes hopeful that you wouldn’t ask anymore questions.
“why?” you ask and the boy’s shoulder slumps, doing his best to not roll his eyes at your persistence. he’s obviously not used to asking for permission.
“i uhm forgot my book there and i really, really need it to study for my exam tomorrow,” he sends you a toothy grin, trying to convince you that that was all there is to it. you’re no fool. you notice the slight change in his voice, his fingers anxiously playing with his pockets, right leg slightly bouncing up and down - indications that he’s lying.
“you know your mom’s not paying for my gas, right?” you reason, not wanting to give in to his request and hoping you could just have a calm afternoon.
dustin sighs, his smile disappearing, “fine. i’ll just go behind your back and bike there and if i end up missing or in a ditch somewhere then it’ll be your fault,” he counters, personality quickly switching from the boy who said “please.”
you sat there, flabbergasted, “are you…blackmailing me right now?” an eyebrow raising, you couldn’t believe how diabolical the curly headed boy is.
“i’m not blackmailing you. i’m simply telling you what's going to happen if you don’t drive me,” he smiles, an almost devilish smile, tone hardening with every word and you truly do not know whether you’re terrified or impressed.
letting out a quiet chuckle, you shake your head, “alright, c’mon kid,” you say, grabbing your car keys off the table, “but we’re going back as soon as you get it.”
——
you should’ve known not to trust him, finding yourself hurriedly getting into the back seat of the car of the last person you ever expected to interact with - steve harrington.
pushing his forgotten red roses towards the other end of the car, you take your seat in the middle.
“wh-what are you doing?” dustin turns from the passenger seat, facing you as steve takes in your presence, eyes on his rearview mirror, a confused expression evident on his face.
“y/n l/n?,” he questions, finally remembering where he has seen you before, “you’re in nancy’s grade?,” he asks, more a question for himself than you.
you nod, “steve harrington,” acknowledging his presence for the first time.
“why are you with dustin?” he wonders. he didn’t know much about you. only that you and nancy were sometimes studying in the library together. she’s told him before that you always get the top grades in class and she wanted to be around more motivated people like you.
“i’m his babysitter and i’m coming with,” you simply answer his question, keeping the explanation short. it’s weird enough that you were inside the car of hawkin high’s famous “king.”
“since when did you have a babysitter dude,” steve reverts his attention back to dustin.
“i'll explain later,” dustin reassures him quickly before turning back to you, “and uhm, you don’t have to come, i have steve now,” he points to the guy in the driver seat like you don’t see him.
from what you’ve heard about steve, you’re not sure you trust leaving the young boy with him. he’s known for being notorious, having bad company and overall, just a guy with the money, the looks and the popularity that somehow has every girl wanting him and every boy wanting to be him. you’re not sure how that guy can be trusted with kids.
subconsciously, you eye steve suspiciously, causing him to put two hands up in surrender “hey, i have no idea what’s happening either,” he defends, shrugging nonchalantly.
snapping out of your daze, you focused your attention back on dustin, “look dustin, steve isn’t the one being paid to watch you right now,” you start to explain.
“hold on, you’re getting paid for this?” the older boy interrupted.
you ignore him, attention still on dustin, “if something were to happen to you, your mom would be looking for me. i’m responsible for you kid, i-,”
“fine! there’s no time,” he cuts you off, obviously in a rush.
“you can come, just,” dustin contemplates, already regretting the words that slipped from his lips, “just don’t blame me for getting you into this thing.”
at that, steve snaps back to reality, “wait, wait, wait, if this ‘thing’ is about ‘that’ then she definitely can NOT come,” steve declared, his voice laced with a seriousness you didn’t think he could have.
“well, are you going to drag her out of the car so she doesn’t find out about this thing?,” the younger boy replies, a sarcastic tone evident on his lips.
“guys, i can hear you,” you piped in, eyes going back and forth between the two boys, having absolutely no clue what they’re referring to.
“dustin, im not joking ok!,” steve ignores you, “we can’t tell people about this,” a serious expression appearing on his face, one you’ve never seen on him before, “we’ll get in trouble, you know that. besides, we shouldn’t involve anyone else into this anyway!,” he protested.
he didn’t sound like the steve you would hear about at school. he sounded responsible, protective. he sounded like…a babysitter.
“i know that steve, that’s why i told her to leave!,” dustin shouted.
“well, she’s clearly still sitting in the backseat of my car!,” steve’s voice raises with every syllable.
“can someone just explain what’s happening?” you try butting in, rolling your eyes, completely fading into the background as they continue their bickering.
“i don’t see YOU trying to do anything about it!,” dustin throws the argument back to steve, his patience on thin ice.
“she’s YOUR babysitter!,” steve points out yet again, ears turning red, veins popping and finally pushing the young boys’ limit.
“fuCK!, we don’t have time for this steve, we really have to go NOW!” dustin shouts, losing his temper.
steve, ready to reprimand him, before you decide you’ve had enough.
the series of “thing” and “this” has your mind spinning and your curiosity getting the best of you.
“SHUT UP!” gaining the two boys’ attention, their bodies turning towards you, “both of you. shut. up.” you enunciate, loud and clear.
“i promise i won’t blame you…or you,” glancing at the two boys, “for whatever the hell this thing is…just put your seatbelts on and drive,” ending their argument as you sat behind the passenger seat, clicking your own seatbelt into place.
steve gives up, letting out a sigh, “fuck it,” before finally stepping on the gas.
ii. the babysitters and an angry billy hargrove
you should have never picked up mrs. henderson’s call and you definitely shouldn’t have agreed to babysitting. what was the point of having your own terms and conditions when you didn’t even follow them yourself?
you should, however, have listened to steve and dustin when they told you to leave.
the day isn’t even over yet and you’re already questioning everything you knew. in a span of a couple of hours, you have been introduced to a world you couldn’t even imagine. having to pinch yourself a couple of times to make sure you weren’t just dreaming.
everything was strange.
you’ve spent the whole afternoon dropping meat, trying to bait something called a demogorgon. met steve’s spiked bat. got questioned regarding your relationship with billy hargrove from his very own red headed step-sister. came face to face with the said demogorgon, who, by the way, had demogorgon friends and were actually a pack of demodogs. almost died in a junkyard. walked in the dark woods just to end up in a creepy laboratory. felt the awkward tension between steve, nancy and jonathan. understood why will byers was called the zombie boy. stood behind steve while holding a random kitchen knife you grabbed from the byers’ kitchen — and to top it all off, encountered a little girl who flung the finally, very dead demogorgon through the window then unlocked the front door, all using only her mind.
in conclusion, monsters and superpowers aren’t just a thing people read in their comic books.
“how are you holding up?” steve breaks you out of your thoughts, your eyes snapping to his voice.
everyone else has left, leaving you the only two teenagers to act as the adults once again.
the strangest thing of all of this was somehow, steve harrington went from being the popular jock to a guy whose simple presence can provide you comfort. everything you knew about him has changed.
it’s amazing what shared trauma could do.
you shoot him a small smile, “well, i definitely wasn’t expecting all this,” you look around the mess around you, “to be a part of that thing” you refer back to the boys’ banter, trying to keep the energy light despite everything that happened.
he gives you a sheepish smile, almost like he was sorry, regretting that he allowed you to be a part of this.
“it’s not your fault. i chose to come,” you say, reading his thoughts and putting an end to them.
“where did you put the demogorgon?” you continue, changing the subject, reassuring him that you were ok. at least, as much as anyone could be ok in this situation.
“we stuffed it in the fridge,” he shakes his head, arms crossing, like he couldn't believe it himself, “‘for science’ dustin said,” steve quotes the younger boy with a grin.
“right, of course, all the important things,” you chuckled, matching his grin as the two of you continued to clean the broken fragments that have scattered around the house.
you thought it was over, that you could all just wait for everything else to unfold in peace but after a few minutes of silence, the kids were back on their feet, ready to "get off the bench.” you’re not sure how steve has the energy to continue arguing with them when you’re completely exhausted.
the sound of an engine brings a silence to the house, max running towards the blinds recognizing the car that has made an appearance in the driveway, “shit, it’s billy, he can’t see me,” she says frantically, eyes meeting yours, a silent call for help.
“i got it, just hide,” you hushly ordered, quickly making your way to the front porch. steve tried pulling you back but you were out the door before anyone could protest, resulting in him looking through the peephole.
billy’s momentarily confused expression at your arrival wasn’t lost on you and if you were in his shoes youd probably have the same one on, “hey sweetheart, what are you doing here?,” his husky voice taking up space in the cold, night air.
standing a couple steps away from him, his hand immediately finds a spot on your waist, pulling you closer. you placed a hand on his chest to keep some distance between the two of you, aware of the audience you have, “i’m babysitting a kid, his friend lives here,” you explain, smiling sweetly at him, hoping that he won’t suspect anything and leave as soon as he came.
“have you seen my sister?” he asks breathily, face inching closer and closer to yours, a smirk on his lips. if it was any other day, you would have enjoyed his attention, maybe even be up for some fun. right now though, you just want him as far from max as possible.
“no, why would she be here?,” feigning innocence, you hope he believes your lie.
“she’s been hanging out with a couple of kids here, a bunch of bad influences,” he huffed, eyes quickly glancing around you before pulling you even closer.
“i haven’t seen her, she’s probably at the arcade, have you checked?,” you hope he doesn’t hear the shakiness in your voice.
“you know what i like about you sweetheart?,” he muttered, placing a harsh kiss below your ear, his grip on your waist starting to dig into your skin. you know he has caught you.
“you can’t lie for shit,” pulling you away from him, gaze darkening, he howled with laughter as you followed his line of vision, seeing four kids peeking through the window — one, with very bright red hair.
frustrated curses slip from your lips as you shoot them an angry glance before billy grabs your wrist, dragging you right behind him as he pounded on the door, coming face to face with steve.
“harrington, am i dreaming or is that you?,” he mocks, his hold on your wrist tightening.
“yeah it’s me, don’t cream your pants,” steve rolls his eyes, hands on his hips like a disappointed mother.
steve notices you wince under billy’s hold, “let her go man,” he orders, taking a step towards the wider boy.
billy focuses his attention back on you, for a second you see a feeling of betrayal flash through his eyes but that was quickly replaced with a snarled expression, like he was completely disgusted with the thought of you.
“is there a reason why you both are here alone?” his dark voice causes goosebumps to rise throughout your body.
you’ve heard of how violent he can be but until right now, he has never shown that side to you.
“what are you saying?,” you almost couldn’t recognize him anymore, breath hitching in your throat.
“are you fucking him behind my back, sweetheart?,” billy’s voice grew menacing, “you know i don’t like to share,” he continued accusing you, his free hand coming in contact with your neck, forcing you to look at him.
“dude, no. we’re babysitting,” steve answers for you and motioning towards the kids like it’s the most obvious answer in the world.
“you’re hurting her,” he emphasized, “just let her go,” gently stepping closer, steve has his arms slowly reaching for you, hands up, a signal that he comes in peace.
steve hopes billy will focus his attention on him instead, just wanting to get you out of there. he feels responsible for your safety and well-being.
“gladly…” billy shot him an evil smirk, “you can’t trust bitches anyways right, harrington?,” he scowled, violently throwing you against the wall.
your head makes a direct impact with the concrete, causing you to fall to the ground, a whimper slipping through your lips. you hear the kids' screams and a punch being thrown as you feel your vision slipping between darkness and light.
you make out dustin running towards you and grabbing your hand, trying to get you to sit up. a couple of unsuccessful tries, he pleads “i’ll come back okay, just stay alive,” as he makes his way back to his friends.
the proceeding events were all a blur and it felt like you were watching it through static television. one moment you can hear victorious cheers. the next moment, you hear something break and steve is suddenly lying on the floor a couple feet away from you, bloody faced and barely breathing. billy continuously throws his punches and the kids scream in fear. you try to get up but your body betrays you, only allowing you to reach out your arm towards the brown haired boy.
somehow, the sound of the punches halted and billy fell to the ground. a sigh of relief escapes from your lips while the slow rise and fall of steve harrington’s chest becomes the last thing you see as you completely fade into the darkness.
—
the next time you open your eyes is to another set of screams, waking you up from your much needed slumber, if you can even call it that. you ignore the pounding in your head as you try to regain your vision. the first thing you feel are the strong arms in front of you, acting as your seatbelt, as you try to piece it all together.
a couple minutes of confusion later, you finally recognize what’s happening, joining steve in full babysitter mode. the yelling of “no’s!,” and “stop the car’s!,” filling the tiny vehicle.
“great, now they’re both awake!, i told you we should have just left them!,” mike cursed dustin annoyingly.
“we were not going to leave them there, mike!,” dustin retorted, “c’mon guys i promised you’ll be cool, okay? just calm. down,” he softly ordered, like he was the babysitter and you two were his children.
you scoff, “dustin, don’t fucking tell me to calm down!,” somehow fearing for your life now more than ever.
“everyone just shut up, i’m trying to focus!,” max yells as lucas yells the directions in her ear.
max makes a harsh turn causing a chorus of screams to rise. your hand immediately clutching around steve’s arm, face burrowing in his neck, seeking for protection, afraid of the crash that luckily never came.
you’re not even too sure what happened the rest of the night but somehow you all made it out unscathed, besides the fact that you and steve are probably suffering matching concussions.
iii. the heart-to-heart
in the tiny bathroom of the byer’s house, you find yourself standing in between steve harrington’s legs. his body feels familiar now, especially after you seeked comfort in each other in the dark tunnel, the two of you thinking it would be your last breaths. in some way, the miracle happened and the screeching demogorgons ran straight past the two of you, like you weren’t even there.
you remember looking up at his golden, brown eyes. being that close to him, you noticed how beautiful they actually are and finally understood how he has charmed every girl at school.
‘i guess it wouldn’t have been too bad dying in steve harrington’s arms.’ you thought to yourself.
brushing those thoughts away, you bask in the moment of solitude within the commotion that is taking place behind the bathroom door. everyone reunited here, checking up on each other.
“does it hurt?” you ask him as you gently pat the alcohol covered cotton pad around his eye, cleaning up the bits of red that have stained them.
he slightly winces, hoping you didn’t notice, “i’m fine, this isn’t my first rodeo,” he assures, sending you a wink before completely regretting the tiny action, a frown briskly replacing his smile, causing small chuckles to slip between your lips.
“you know, you should really stop getting into fights, i could’ve sworn you had a black eye just a year ago,” you remember it like it was yesterday - steve harrington walking the halls of hawkins high without his two minions for the first time, looking like he had fallen off his throne as the hushed whispers grew louder until they finally made its way throughout the school in a matter of minutes.
you could tell he wasn’t at all the person he was trying to be and for a second, you saw yourself in him. you wanted to get to know that steve. the steve that may understand you. but that second didn’t last long.
“so you were watchin me?” he teases, a smirk on his lips resulting in a playful shove and an eye roll from you.
gently grabbing his chin, you stare straight into his eyes, “of course i was. you’re steve harrington,” you remind him, “everyone watches you,” stating the facts before letting go and going back to removing all the dried up blood from his pretty face.
he clears his throat, shrugging his shoulders, playing it cool, “yeah, i guess you’re right,” he says dumbfoundedly, making you laugh.
“you’re ridiculous,” you quietly comment, a smile still on your lips. steve focuses on your light touches, trying not to wince every time you get near his open wounds. you notice his knuckles going white, gripping the toilet seat he was sitting on and ever so gently, hurried your actions.
“there, all clean,” you softly declare as you slip from his space, turning around and putting all mrs. byer’s first aid kit back into place. he quietly thanks you, leaning his head back a bit to rest, his eyes shutting for a second.
“thanks, by the way,” you break the silence “for protecting me earlier… with billy and all the upside down things,” you explain, looking at steve through the mirror. he nods, not entirely sure he’s deserving of your gratitude. you protected him as much as he protected you.
“is he always that violent with you?” steve asks, an eyebrow going up.
you immediately shake your head, “no, he’s never laid a hand on me, i don’t know what came over him,” you say honestly.
“why billy hargrove?” he asks, causing you to pause your actions, paying attention to him.
“what do you mean?” you reply, turning around to face him once again, your back against the tiny kitchen sink.
“well, you didn’t leave dustin alone even though you just started babysitting him today, you care about having seatbelts on, you immediately covered up for max and just now, you took care of me when you should be taking care of yourself,” he points out, “you’re responsible and kind and you care and, well, billy is just a huge dick,” he finished, a hand flailing in the air as you stare at him, stunned at his observations.
you compose your thoughts for a while, not at all ready to have a heart to heart with steve harrington in a bathroom.
instead, you throw the question back at him, “why nancy wheeler?”
“you cannot possibly be comparing billy to nancy,” he replies quickly, a disapproving tone laced in his voice.
“i’m not,” you say defensively, “i’m just saying, she hurt you too but you’re still with her, you-”
“i-i don’t know if we’re actually still together,” he sadly replies, cutting you off, eyes dropping to the floor and you think back to the woods earlier that night — nancy emerging with jonathan right by her side.
“but you still love her,” you continue, “even though she’s hurt you, you still love her,” you finish, trying to make a point.
“so, you’re in love with billy?” he concludes.
you scoff, wanting to say yes and finally drop the subject but the mere thought of agreeing with that sentence makes you visibly wince.
“god no, i’ve been on a couple dates with the guy, it’s far from love,” earning an even more confused steve to face you.
“i don’t know if it’s because i got my brains punched out or i really am just dumb but i completely lost you there,” he admit, a tiny smile on his lips and all you could do is sigh.
heart to heart talk it is.
“you’re not dumb, i just-” taking a deep breath, you prepare yourself.
“we all have our own reasons why were with someone,” you begin, “i’m just so tired of the perfect good girl image that has been imposed on me, it's like people just see me as that and nothing else,” as soon as you start, the dam breaks, flowing.
you find yourself entrusting your deepest thoughts to him, “i can’t be fun because good girls aren’t supposed to be, i go to parties and people are confused that i'm there. you know, i even joined the cheerleading team so people can see me as something more? but all that does is fuel the assumption that i can do everything and still get shit done...that im not capable of mistakes and bad decisions. that i’ll turn out to be something great when really i’m just so damn scared all the time,” your voice breaks but before he could comment, you cleared your throat and continued.
“i guess being with him makes people finally see me out of my stereotype” you confess, waiting for him to say something. the silence becomes overbearing and you feel completely vulnerable under his gaze.
“oh,” steve responds, before bursting into laughter and you feel like a complete idiot, eyebrows shifting downward. god, you’re so ready to dramatically walk out of this bathroom and slam the door against his face but before you could do that, he notices.
“hey wait,” he says, gently grabbing your arm, asking you to stay as he arranges his thoughts.
“i’m sorry, i’m just relieved that you’re not actually in love with him because you deserve a lot better than billy hargrove,” he says charmingly, his cool facade still on display.
“i know,” you agree, stopping yourself from rolling your eyes, “is that all?” you ask, still annoyed.
“yeah,” steve starts, “i-no,” you give him time. you know that he’s having a war in his mind right now, the same one you just had.
he avoids your gaze, thinking to himself, until finally, he puts his defenses down, “i understand you,” he confesses.
“if it makes you feel better, it’s not at all greener on this side, i wished people looked at me less, i wish i didn’t have to go to all these parties just for people to respect me,” steve rattled on, feeling the weight fall off his shoulders with every word that falls off his lips, his facade disappearing bit by bit.
“i completely gave up on school because everyone has already expected me to fail and i started to believe them…it’s tiring having to pretend i’m this ‘king’ steve,” he quotes, “when really i am spiraling and have no fucking clue what i even want in life...i’ll probably just end up having a stupid job i hate and being as bitter as my father,” he sadly chuckles.
“i’m just as scared as you,” he ends with a small smile, eyes meeting yours. he feels lighter after having said it all out loud for the first time and he can’t quite comprehend how he feels so safe sharing his saddest truths with you.
but as you cast him a kind smile, the words “fuck stereotypes,” making its way to his ears, he can’t help but be thankful for the spilled truths and ajar doors.
steve mirrors your expression and you’re glad you finally got to meet him. not “playboy” steve harrington and definitely not steve “the king” harrington.
just steve.

if you pay attention to non-voiced dialogue, side quests and drip marketing posts you might've realized already, but
Billy Kid used to be a member of the Sons of Calydon.
it's not like it has been outright stated but with the amount of hints the game has given, i think it's a safe bet. we don't know the implications of this connection as of now considering how little we know about SoC, but i think we'll get more info in 1.3, along with Caesar's release. with that being said, let's get into it.
starting easy, Billy's jacket. red, and with a boar. need i say more?
not exactly the same, but definitely close enough to have a connection.
moving on, most of the hints can be found in Billy's trust quests. they are triggered randomly (and I assume some of them are only available at a certain trust level) but I think as long as you level up his trust you are bound to get the ones I will be talking about.
first off is the Sixth Street Motor Legend one. you meet Billy on one end of Sixth Street, near the Workshop, and he tells you about this legendary biker who drives his super fast motorbike by Sixth Street at midnight every night. he compares it to the bikes of the Outer Ring, which is where SoC - which we know to be bikers - reside. when questioned on his interest, he mentions how he was just interested in seeing the legendary bike since he himself used to own and ride a bike when he lived and worked in the Outer Ring.
in the second part of this event, he goes to question Enzo, convinced that the legendary biker is him. as Billy described the SSML to him, he uses the words "crimson nightmare" (because the bike is red), which seem to remind Enzo of something. he denies being the biker, but brings up an old customer of his who "fits that description". he describes this guy: member of an OR biker gang, pretty well known in his circle, had white hair and a red scarf. and his name was "Starlight Knight". as soon as he says that, Billy says "that's my name!" which is odd even for a diehard fanboy. he quickly accepts Enzo's words, as if wanting to dismiss the topic, and the Proxy brings up how he seems to be acting suspicious. And then Billy just hurries off. Which is suspicious. If you try interacting with him after the quest is over, he says "Maybe... the Sixth Street Motor Legend should remain a mystery, after all."
in another trust event, he tells the Proxy he used to live in a big truck a long time ago, and he seems to know a lot about cars. both are things that are typically associated with the SoC, iirc.
lastly, there's the Hollow Zero quest. Billy asks the Proxy to bring him to explore the Hollow, and after starting the exploration, you run into some bandits. nothing of note happens in the dialogue before the fight, aside from the leader of the bandits mentioning how Billy looks familiar. in the dialogue after the fight though, some stuff comes up. the leader starts noticing more things about Billy: the white hair is brought up again, and he seems to recognize the red jacket as well. he says "Could it be that you're the legendary-" but Billy interrupts him. and as soon as he's done talking, the leader yells "Run! We don't wanna mess with this guy!" and leaves in a hurry. following that you can question Billy, who seems to be hiding something. his answer convinced me for good that something's up. he says "everyone has a past. you're no different, right? you can't change the past, which is what makes the present and the future far more important." the game wants you to know there's more to his character.
to those who might be wondering why i would bring up the bandits recognizing Billy when it's likely that they simply know him for being a Cunning Hare, let me tell you: that's probably not it. The Cunning Hares aren't famous, they're broke and underground, and would definitely not strike that much fear into Hollow Raiders. the Sons of Calydon though... they might. and as a cherry on top, I doubt "Billy Kid of the Cunning Hares" is even close to being a legendary figure.
i was going to make this post sooner, but I was worried it wouldn't be enough to prove my point. then Caesar was drip marketed today, and...
you don't call the leader of the SoC "Big Sis" if you don't have a past with her, or the entire faction.
maybe there's more stuff i missed. maybe i'm being delusional. but I still invite you to join the "1.3 Billy Kid lore drop" prayer circle. anyways thanks for reading my ramble I just really like it when the silly robot guy with guns has a Past.

A few weeks had gone by and Coriolanus’s high hopes of having you to himself was dwindling. It’s not like he saw much of you anymore, and had no idea how to hang out with you alone without your boyfriend stirring up shit. He received your graduation party invitation and was mentally preparing to see you again. Each time he went to Sejanus’s house, he would check to see if you were home, and sometimes you’d be outside. He would awkwardly wave and you’d smile back. Something he noticed however, was the fact that he seems to see less and less of Devon’s car. Coriolanus would try not to get ahead of himself, but he could help but think maybe you and Devon were closer to breaking up. Still, that gave him little hope since he wasn’t sure what to do about it.
As he sits with Sejanus in his room, he slowly blows out the smoke from his joint, through his window. Sejanus coughs and turns his head.
“You know you could use this from time to time. You might be less anxious.”
“Maybe…”
The high flows through him, his mind going numb, his body feeling light and calm. He takes another hit before knocking off the ashes and settling it on his ashtray. Another euphoric wave washes over him again and he leans back in his chair and sighs. He takes a swig from his Red Bull and picks up his controller.
“Wanna do teams this time, kinda wanna get some online stats up.”
“Yeah”
As the two boys continue their game, Coriolanus is glad to not feel as pent up and angry. He finally feels like his mind isn’t obsessing over you for the first time all day. It has become a daily, if not hourly occurrence. His mind racing with thoughts. Thoughts of you, naked before him, your beautiful mouth agape and ready and you begging to suck him off. He would also imagine you on all fours, your perfect ass stuck up in the air, pussy on full display. What he would give to rub his face in it, bury his tongue deep inside you until you came.
Coriolanus shifts in his seat, his thoughts now fully back on you. Just as he thought he was doing better with his fantasies of you He takes another hit to drown out his feelings.
“Aw man these guys are good.” Sejanus exclaims
“We can beat them…”
The two boys finish the round, beating the other team. They play a few more rounds, then Tigris knocks on the door.
“Oh god, how can it still smell with the windows open.” She asks, face scrunching up
“I lit a candle” Coriolanus quips
“Still, anyways, I got you an outfit for tomorrow.”
“Oh you’re going too?” Sejanus questions
“Why wouldn’t I?” Coriolanus shrugs
“Because of Devon.”
Tigris leaves momentarily and comes back with a nice white button up, decorated with small red roses. Even with the design, it’s still masculine enough for Coriolanus liking. They were small enough to look like scattered polka dots and honestly it’s very sophisticated and sexy.
“It should fit. I borrowed your graduation shirt for measurements and I think that nice pair of your dad’s of black khakis will look perfect.”
“You made this?” He asks
Tigris nods with a big smile.
“Well I thought that she’d like it. Leave Devon for you. You’re far more handsome anyways.”
She, referring to you. Of course Tigris knows without him saying anything. He doesn’t mind. Coriolanus' heart skips and he smiles back at his cousin, appreciating the kind gesture.
“I appreciate it, Ty.” Of course
Tigris waits as he tries it on. He takes his shirt off and buttons up the new one. Coriolanus looks in the mirror. It fits him just right and he likes how it cuts into his figure.
“Yeah. It’s perfect.” He moves his arms around making sure it wasn’t too tight in any places.
Tigris smiles and leaves the room. Coriolanus hangs up the shirt and sits back down on the bed, putting his old, worn white shirt back on. The two boys continue playing their game.
“It looks nice.” Sejanus remarks
“Thanks man.”
“Oh guess what!” Sejanus perks up as he hits a combo attack
“What?”
“I uh think Devon and them might be done soon. “
“Why?” Coriolanus inquires
“I hardly see him anymore. And last night he stormed off big time. I could hear them yelling from my window. I think it might have been about you, but I wasn’t too sure.”
“Really. Like what?” The blonde leans in closer
“He was mad that someone was coming to the party tomorrow, and shouted at her that she needs to do something about him…”
Coriolanus’s mind fires up again. Through the fog of his high, he refocuses, and he feels sharp with this new found knowledge. He smirks to himself, satisfied that Devon feels pissed off by the very idea that Coriolanus Snow will be in attendance at his graduation party. He likes this feeling. The power he holds from afar and the fact that he seemingly lives rent free in Devon’s head. And maybe even in yours. Coriolanus would selfishly love to see you two break up. He would do anything to have you.
He smashes one of the other players off the map, winning the round. Feeling victorious, and not just from the video games, Coriolanus lights up his joint again. He places it in his mouth, inhales, and blows it out the window. He falls back into a dream-like state. He takes another hit, inhaling deeper this time.
“Fuck dude.” Coriolanus whispers, the smoke escaping his lips as he talks
“What?”
“You think I have a chance with her?”
“Maybe.” Sejanus shrugs
The next day comes fast and Coriolanus once again drives to pick up Sejanus. You are already gone, setting up for the party. Coriolanus feels confident, cocky even as he rolls past your house. He drums his fingers on the steering wheel. His favorite Cage the Elephant song, Back Against the Wall, was playing and he couldn’t be happier. With his new shirt and the new cologne Tigris got him for graduation, he felt irresistible.
“Hey man! Looking good!” Sejanus exclaims as he hops into Coriolanus’s truck.
The two boys ride off to the country club. Money, Power and Glory by Lana del Ray starts to play as they roll up and Coriolanus hums along. As they are parking, a man in a black polo waves them down and Coriolanus assumes he’s a valet. He rolls down his window.
“Hey! Are you maintenance? You gotta go around back there should be some signs…”
“I’m here for the graduation party!” Coriolanus quips sharply
The man looks stunned and gives an apologetic expression.
“I’m so sorry! You can park down that way umm the valet should be…” he looks around frantically
“Thanks!”
Coriolanus drives past him and huffs in frustration.
“That was rude.” Sejanus remarks and Coriolanus simply rolls his eyes. They park a little further from the rest of the cars and walk up the entrance. As they walk up Coriolanus notices Sejanus is carrying two little gift bags.
“Ma got them $200 for Bed Bath and Beyond…”
“Well I didn’t bring anything.” Coriolanus mumbles as they walk in.
The country club is huge. Wide windows looking out onto the golf course, with nearly polished mahogany wood floors, and the main entrance leading into several areas to sit and eat drinks. The furniture is equally as grand, with red chesterfield chairs and couches and sitting on top of Persian rugs. The walls were a crème white and the whole place smells of old money. Various waiters and waitresses are walking around with flutes of champagne and hors d’oeuvres.
“I’m surprised that guy outside didn’t recognize me. I’m sure he knows we are members here…”
“It’s hard to believe that people like you would run around with anyone like the likes of me and my family anymore.”
“What do you mean? Your dad used to come here too?”
“Used to…”
Coriolanus didn’t talk much about his dad and it wasn’t a subject Sejanus would bring up often. It was true, before both his parents died, they had been wealthy, but his dad had worked with Mr. Plinth as Vice President of marketing, but tragically both his parents had died in a plane crash on vacation with Tigris’s parents, leaving them both orphans and in the care of the grandparents. However, Coriolanus would learn growing up that his father had blown most of his money away on gambling, leaving the Snow family name in debt and broke.
Sejanus quiets down and takes a caramelized onion, cream cheese tart from a waiter. He takes water as well and nervously sips it.
“Sorry I don’t mean to mention him.”
“It’s fine man.”
Then you flow into the room. You’re wearing a delicate, pink, strapless dress that flows as you walk. Your hair is slightly curled, bouncy, and has a pink satin bow to match. You’re absolutely precious, his eyes practically undressing you. You turn and smile at him. Coriolanus waves and you come greet him and Sejanus.
“Hey boys, glad you could come!” You beam
“Hey, where can I put these?” Sejanus pipes up
“Oh there’s a table by the entrance.” You point
Sejanus smiles, leaving you alone with Coriolanus. He tempers his breath and you step closer to him.
“You look nice.” He nods
“Thanks. You do too. Did Tigris make that?”
“She did” he beams back at her
“That girl is gonna work for Gucci one day…you uh smell nice again too.”
“Thanks. This is a good color on you.” He states, rubbing the fabric between his forefinger and thumb. You giggle and look at his hand. He immediately pulls back, a rush of embarrassment washing over him. Coriolanus feels his face getting red and he runs his fingers through his blonde buzz cut. But you still just smile at him, finding it charming that he’s slightly embarrassed.
“So where is my graduation gift from you?” You perk up, teasing him
“Oh I feel stupid saying this but I didn’t bring one I guess…”
“It’s fine. I have enough things anyways.” You joke
“Well this is nice of you to invite the whole grade. This place is lovely.”
“Yeah it’s nice to be able to rent the space. And it was cheaper to do it with Devon, so I guess it worked out nice.”
“I guess so.” He chuckles
You and him stand in silence for a moment until Sejanus returns. The three of you make conversation, Sejanus informing you that his mom got you a gift card and you thank him. Coriolanus starts to ask what you are looking forward to the most about college and you light up. You start talking about how amazing the medical science program is and how you simply can’t wait for the biology labs. Coriolanus couldn’t understand how anyone would be truly interested in what you’re talking about, but he loves how much it interests you. He loves how passionate and smart you are on the subject, and clings to every word. You brush your hair to the side and Coriolanus can’t help but let his eyes trail your shoulders and collar bone. He would love to kiss the bare skin in front of him. Just in the divot of your bone and then, all the way up to your neck. Would you whine for him? Moan at his lips on you, as he shows you how beautiful you are. How much he loves you. He’s so lost in his thoughts he doesn’t even notice Devon making his way towards the group
Sejanus nudges Coriolanus who looks at him, then sees Devon. He calls to you and you spin around. You smile, but Coriolanus knows it’s a facade.
“Hey! Mom wants pictures so I’m stealing you away.”
Devon rubs your arm and pulls you to him. You start to trot away and follow him.
“Ok. Well I’ll see you boys around.” You call out
Devon glares at Coriolanus, before leaning down to whisper something in your ear.
“Prick…” Coriolanus mumbles
As the party continues, Coriolanus and Sejanus make their way around, catching up with a few classmates. The country club has a nice, spacious outdoor patio and a big lawn for yard games. Eventually the two boys find their way to a Bags game and play against each other. You see him and find one of you girls to join you and Sejanus.
“Need some more players?” You ask
“Of course!” Coriolanus smiles.
You opt to stand on the same side as Coriolanus, while your teammate stands next to Sejanus. Coriolanus looks around for Devon.
“Where’s Devon?” He asks, trying to sound casual
“I think his dad said him and his buddies are going to do a few holes on the golf course.”
“At his own graduation party?” Coriolanus jokes
You shrug your shoulders.
“I’m just happy to be able to talk to you without him being a vulture.”
“Yeah he can be a bit much”
“Besides, I like being able to actually talk to you.”
Coriolanus feels his face get hot again, and bites his lip. Fuck. His breath hitches as he tries to casually toss a bean bag across the lawn. It lands on the board with a fat smack.
“Nice!” Sejanus calls out
“So are you going to Devon’s house party tonight?” You ask
“He’s having another party tonight?”
“Yeah I guess his parents are going out of town like immediately after this so he wanted to throw a banger” she sighs, putting the last few words in air quotes, mocking him.
Coriolanus snickers as you toss a bag over. It hits the board and slides off. You frown.
“I was trying to knock you off!” You giggle
“Gonna have to try harder.” Coriolanus remarks then pauses “ But umm…I’m not sure about the party.”
“I’m not either, but I might go. I know I’ll be kinda tired after today.”
Coriolanus ponders the offer for a moment. The possibility of hanging out with you longer is tempting, but not guaranteed. He sighs as he tosses his last bag, making it in.
“Man you’re good!” You exclaim.
The game continues and the two boys win by a far margin. After, Coriolanus chats it up with you, feeling comfortable and relaxed knowing Devon is off playing golf. You and him walk around and he wishes he could hold your hand, kiss your forehead and tell you how stunning you look. Touching your dress would be the closest thing he thought he would ever get to touching you in that intimate way. And here he is, talking to you about something besides physics or biology. You’re currently telling him about your Pinterest board for your dorm decor, a conversation he would normally find mundane, but coming from you, he’s utterly captivated. Eventually you and him find yourself alone inside, mostly isolated from the other guests. You stand there and he can’t help but want to steal a kiss from you, but he knew you’d never cheat. And he wouldn’t try anything of course, but your face, your beautiful plump lips, they look so soft. You are like a siren to him and he feels mesmerized.
Around 4 o’clock, Sejanus and Coriolanus say their goodbyes and head out. In the car on the way back to Sejanus’s house, the two discuss if they should go to the party. As they pull up to the driveway, Coriolanus’s phone dings. It’s one of his classmates, texting him about the party.
Hey, you selling tonight
Wasn’t planning on going
Ah ok then
He stares at the text, contemplating the offer.
“Hey you know what, let’s go tonight…”
“You sure.”
“Someone wants to buy. You think you can steal a couple of Valiums from your ma?”
The evening rolls around, and Coriolanus has changed into a pair of jeans and a black shirt. He puts on one of his Cuban link chains and some more cologne, just in case you’re there. As he rolls back into Sejanus’s neighborhood, he checks his pockets. He’s got a few ounces of weed on him, a few pills of ecstasy, and some acid tablets. Hopefully, Sejanus got the Valium. Coriolanus rolls back up to the Plinth house and turns down his music. Sejanus comes out, hands stuffed into his pockets. By the way he is glancing over his shoulder and awkwardly moving, he got the pills.
“You got them?”
Sejanus looks around and hands Coriolanus a small bag with six blue pills.
“Oh nice! Good work Sejay.” He takes the bag from his hands, stuffing in next to his weed.
“Thanks I guess.”
“You could use one of these. Probably more than a nice solid hit of flower.” Coriolanus suggests
“You’d feel bad too if it was your grandma or something.”
“Yeah, but c’mon your mom needs to get off these anyways. They aren’t doing her much good.”
“I guess so.”
The two pull up to Devon’s house and the music from the basement is booming. He looks around for your car, but it’s nowhere to be found. A few girls head in and Coriolanus watches them. It’s a group of your friends, but you’re not with him. He hangs his head and sighs. You’re probably not coming, he concludes. He curses at the steering wheel, hitting it. A part of him feels like he’s wasting his time, but he would like to make a little extra cash. Fuck it. Sejanus looks at him with concern, but exits the car. They enter through the front door, and find the stairs to the basement. The music blares loudly and the main lighting is replaced with LED strips glowing all along the walls. It’s packed and smells like indica and beer. Coriolanus searches around for a solo cup and a bottle of Captain Morgan. He finds both next to the beer pong table and pours himself a drink. He takes a swig, loving how it warms his body.
“Are you gonna need me to drive home?” Sejanus inquires tentatively
“I’ll be fine. Here.” Coriolanus shoves a cup into Sejanus’s hands and pours him some rum. He takes a small sip and scrunches up his face. He lets out a heavy cough, causing Coriolanus to roll his eyes. He looks around and you're still nowhere to be found. He takes another drink. After a few more sips, he feels woozy and eventually a classmate of his approaches wanting some weed. He sells him an eighth of an ounce for $35 and then a few more people approach. He sells a few tabs of acid for $65 each and a Valium for $40.
“Fuck dude, you really know how to make money.”
“It’s a simple job if you’re not too uptight.” He eyes Sejanus.
They walk around, a few more people buy from Coriolanus and about an hour later, he had about $430 dollars. Eventually, one of your friends ask for a Valium.
“Here.” He hands it to her, taking the $40
“You drive a high price. Can't you give me a little discount?”
“Why.”
“Cause you like my friend.” She bats her eyes
“Yeah and if you were her, then maybe. Are you buying for her?”
“If I said yes would I get a discount?”
He shakes his head. She rolls her eyes and walks away. Coriolanus wasn’t sure if you had done a drug stronger than Tylenol. He wasn’t aware of any surgeries or injuries you had, so it was doubtful you had even taken morphine for pain. He imagined it though. Your little pink tongue sticking out, a tab of acid hanging from the end. How sexy would you look in nothing but your underwear like that too. Or maybe you’d be more sophisticated, and he thought of you naked in your bath, joint hanging loosely in between your fingers. He’d love to see you like that. All naked, clean and high.
He walks around to find Sejanus, who is trying his best to drunkenly flirt with one of his classmates. He walks past a back room in the basement, glances in for a moment and instead finds Devon. At first he stands back, hides, and scoffs quietly to himself. Then he hears a giggle, followed by a moan. He peeks his head in slightly and finds Devon making out with some girl. And it’s definitely not you. He’s slowly teasing the girl’s shirt down her body, and he reaches down to grope her breast harshly, kissing her neck.
“Fuck…” he whispers into her
Coriolanus is stunned, can he really believe his eyes. He’s not surprised given Devon’s reputation, but still. He thinks for a moment and then, silently pulls out his phone. He opens it and pulls up his camera. He hits record. Coriolanus angles it to hide the camera, but makes sure that he can still see the girl on top of Devon and his face. She moves on him, moaning his name and whispering about how “Miss perfect” couldn’t please him like this. Coriolanus’s blood boils at that remark. He slowly backs away and then when he finds a secluded corner and reviews the video on his phone. Coriolanus turns the volume down just enough so he can hear and leans in. He rewatches the video and can clearly see Devon’s face and can clearly hear the other girls voice. It’s perfect. But how to use it.
Coriolanus makes sure the video is saved on his phone, before rushing off to find Sejanus again. Coriolanus walks around, pushing past people, until he finds him awkwardly chatting it up with some girl.
“Hey” Coriolanus announces himself
“Hey Snow…” the girl says
“Dude c’mere! I gotta show you this” he demands, dragging Sejanus away.
“What! What’s up?”
Coriolanus whips out his phone and pulls up the video. Sejanus leans in, confused at first, but then, realizes. Eyes wide, he tilts his head in to hear the audio. He looks at Coriolanus in shock, mouth agape.
“Is that?”
“That’s Devon yeah…”
“Holy shit dude!” Sejanus laughs, stumbling into Coriolanus slightly
“Yeah. Hey are you ok?” You wanna get outta here?”
Sejanus shakes his head drunkenly and Coriolanus takes his arm.
“Come on dude, let’s go.”
“But I was talking to someone…” he slurs
“Yeah, she seems busy.” Coriolanus nudges
The girl Sejanus was talking to is now preoccupied with another man’s mouth, aggressively making out with the other guy. He frowns and walks to the stairs, Coriolanus dragging him along. When the two boys get into the car, Coriolanus doesn’t feel drunk and honestly feels fine to drive. Truthfully, seeing Devon cheating sobered him up and he was still thinking of what he was going to do with the video. He turns the key, starts up his truck, and rides back to Sejanus’s neighborhood. On the way back, he thinks about the best way to get it out without having his name tied to it. He drums his fingers on the steering wheel, looking over at a passed out Sejanus, he gets an idea. He’s not sure who will see it or if it will work but he’s sure it will be anonymous. A popular app used at school to spread gossip anonymously, Yik Yak, Coriolanus thought it might just work to post it there. They finally reach Sejanus’s neighborhood, and Coriolanus glances at your house, a plan now in mind. As he pulls into the Plinth’s driveway, he wakes Sejanus up.
“Hey…we're home”
“Oh that was fast.” Sejanus mumbles, yawing
“For you. I’ll walk you in if you need it.”
“Nah man, I’ll be good.” He opens the door, waves and heads inside.
Coriolanus takes a deep breath and pauses for a moment. He whips out his phone and pulls the video up again. The lewd sounds of Devon’s moans start up again and Coriolanus cringes. Then, the thing that really pissed him off.
“I bet Miss Perfect couldn’t please you like this.” The girl moans
Coriolanus glances at the mirror, gazing at your house. He spots your car parked in the driveway as expected and realizes your most likely sound asleep. Sound asleep as your good for nothing boyfriend is sticking it in another girl. Fuck it. He pulls the app up and impatiently waits for it to load. Coriolanus pulls up his school’s group. And He taps the green plus sign, watching the cursor as it blinks. He then hits the video button and pulls up the video. It uploads and then he waits, looks back at your house again and frowns. He knew you didn’t deserve him and you needed to know that Devon was an absolute ass. You deserve better. He hits the post button and it sends.

But You can Show Me?
Billy Taylor X (Hotel Guest Reader)

Billy Taylor Master List
Full Master List
Banners by @arcielee
A/N: I have been holding onto this one in my drafts forever, the absolute filth in this had me hesitant to post 🤣 but alas time to release some more Billy Taylor into the world!
Warnings: Cheating, unprotected sex, smut, age gap, corruption kink (if you blink). (I suck at warnings, so if you think I should add something, please tell me!)
Why are all men so disgusting!
That thought has been playing in your head on a loop for the past two days. Since you caught your husband deep in the throws of passion with her. His secretary.
Your husband was supposed to be the love of your life. Your fairytale ending. You were supposed to fill your home with a cacophony of the laughs of children and declarations of undying love and devotion.
A farce. That is what it had been. Something entirely made up in your head. Unfortunately, you were the last one to figure that out.He hadn't even looked guilty when caught. Just annoyed as if you should have had the respect to wait until he was finished to question him about his actions.
Two days staying at a friend's house was long enough. You were thrilled to be spending your husband's hard earned money to stay at a fancy hotel while you figured out a way to get yourself out of this marriage without becoming destitute. He hadn't chased you down. No begging for you to come home. No promises that it wouldn't repeat. Just a "take some time to yourself" and a wave of his hand. Thank God for small kindnesses.
You step out of the town car that your husband paid to bring you here. Your black hair is curled to your shoulders. You wore your cutest cocktail dress. Black with red trimmings. Head held high. You step forward and take a look at the hotel. Big, fancy, just what you deserve after what you've been through.
Two bellboys meet you out front and introduce themselves as Billy and Derek.
Derek lifts your suitcase while Billy takes care of the hotel introduction.
"Hello, Miss, welcome to the Halycon hotel. My name is Billy, and I will be showing you to your room. " he stumbles over his words a little bit, making you smile. It's obvious he is making his best effort to follow the script given to him by hotel management.
"Thank you very much, Billy."
Billy brings you to the check-in counter.
"Room key for -" Billy scratches his chin and then flushes in embarrassment when he realizes he forgot to ask the guests name. He turns back to you, cheeks flushed bright red.
"Umm, M-miss. What is the name for the R-reservation?"
You tell him your name and get your room key heading to the lift.
As you get into the lift, Billy takes your bag from Derek and waves him off. You can tell billy is incredibly nervous. It's endearing.
"So how long will you be staying with us miss?" He asks voice squeaking at the end of the last word.
"Not quite sure yet," you smile at him, and you see a faint blush paint his cheeks.
As the lift reaches your floor, Billy puts his hand out as if keeping the lift door from closing on you as you step out.
You step to the side and wait for Billy to lead you to your room. He struggles a bit with your suitcase, and you stifle a giggle.
"Room 308" Billy stops in front of the door.
"Thank you, Billy." You open the door with your key, and he carries your luggage in.
"Just there is fine" Billy puts down your suitcase and rubs his palms on his trousers.
"Hold on one moment," you say as you start to fish around your purse, looking for some money for his tip.
"Oh that's ok you don't need to give me anything" he says nervously
"It will take just a moment. I know I have something in here," you continue fishing around. "How old are you, Billy?" You ask while continuing to dig through your bag.
"18. Just waiting on my draft papers now" he says proudly.
"Oh, is that right? I feel safer already knowing such a strong kind young man will be out there keeping us safe, " you smile finally, finding some money in your bag. You hand him a little cash and smile.
"Oh..... ummm.... thank you very much, miss, " he says with another flush of red covering his cheeks.
"Oh, I have one more thing for you," you say as you walk over to him and place a soft kiss on his cheek. His body goes rigid, and his face turns a dark red. Even the tips of his ears are red now.
Billy clears his throat, nods, and skates out of the room as quickly as he can.
You quickly unpack, making yourself comfortable in the room, trying not to stay in your thoughts.
You have a meeting with a solicitor in the morning hoping to find a way out of your failed marriage, and your stress level is through the roof.
In the evening, you decide to go out and bring dinner back. The thought of sitting alone in a restaurant is mortifying to you.
As you walk back into the hotel, you spot the adorable bell boy from this morning hat off looking like he must be getting ready to head out for the day.
"Hi Billy," you say as sweetly as possible as you pass by him on your way towards the lift.
"Oh... em hello miss" he says with that familiar blush highlighting his cheeks.
You tell yourself you should end it there. Keep walking up to your room with your lonely dinner and sit around in self-pity. Is that what you actually do? No.
"Did you get your draft papers?" You look at him expectantly.
"Oh, ummm, not yet. Sure, it will be soon. " he half mumbles half stutters.
You scramble around in your head, trying to think up a way to keep the conversation going but draw a blank.
"Oh. Ok then. You have a nice night, Billy. " Your voice is gentle with a hint of sadness as you continue on your way to the lift.
"Oh miss!" Billy follows after you. "A-are you alright?" His brows furrow slightly.
"Oh yes, I'm ok," you say with a small smile that doesn't quite reach your eyes. "Just off to have supper," you hold up your bag of food.
"Alone?" Billy asks immediately, regretting he had asked "Oh that's none of my business miss. I apologize truly"
"Oh no, it's quite alright Billy, yes supper is a solitary activity for me as of late"
"If you fancy some company, I could sit with ya for a bit. I've got some time?" He sounds entirely unsure of himself, but you got to hand it to the guy. That was brave.
"Oh... sure I wouldn't mind the company. " You smile sweetly at him.
The two of you walk back to your room in silence. Both of you too nervous to say much.
When you get into the room, you sit down at the small table and set up your food.
"So Billy, tell me a bit about yourself?"
"Oh.. ummm...... erm....me? Not much to tell miss." He cheeks are starting to flush as his eyes dart around the room.
"I'm sure that isn't true....... is there a particular station you are hoping to get when your draft letter comes?"
"Oh...oh! Yes. Yes, miss.... I hope to be where the action is." He smiles with pride
"But won't your family and your girl be so worried?" You say as you pick at your food.
His face flushes bright red again. " oh....um...oh I've got no girl, miss..." he looks away awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
Now your face starts to flush. You thought for sure a sweet boy like this would be matched up with an equally sweet girl. " Oh?..... That's...... that's quite a shock, if I'm honest"
His face is beat red now, and his grin is so wide that you're sure it must be slightly uncomfortable."w-w-why is t-that miss?" He looks over at you with puppy dog eyes.
'Oh boy. This is dangerous.' You think to yourself.
"It's just...." You look at him with mischievous eyes. " You are such a handsome young man. I'm just shocked a lady hasn't snatched you up yet"
His face is so red at this point that you're convinced it must be burning up. "Oh" he says quietly.
You move your chair over so you are facing him without the table between you. He starts breathing a bit faster while fidgeting with his bellboy cap in his lap.
"What are you so red for?" You say teasing.
"Oh miss, I'm not... no, " he says, touching his cheeks, no doubt feeling how hot his face has gotten.
You put your fingers under his chin and lift his head so he is eye level with you.
His breath catches in his throat, and he makes a slight coughing sound.
"Ummm miss? What is happening here?" He looks so lost and excited.
"Why did you want to come to my room with me?" You ask while gently rubbing your thumb on his chin.
" i-i-I.. what?" He asks entirely flustered.
"What made you want to come up here and be all alone with little. Old. Me." You tap his nose three times.
"Well.. i...i...umm.." he whimpers and looks at you helplessly at a complete loss for words.
"Maybe you were looking for a kiss?" You lean in towards him
His eyes go wide, and he stiffens. He opens his mouth as if he is going to speak, but all that comes out is a squeak.
"May I give you a kiss, Billy?" You say leaning in even closer
He nods furiously, his face becoming ever redder
You stand out of your chair and lean down a place a chaste kiss on his lips. You sit back in your seat and smile as you watch him he has a huge smile on his face and has yet to reopen his eyes.
"Billy?"
"Hmmmm?" He hums with his eyes still closed
You giggle "you can open your eyes now"
"No" he chuckles " not yet"
"But you'll miss what I do next," you say seductively as you move toward him.
His eyes fly open. "n-next?"
"What have you......done....with a woman up to this point Billy?" You ask eyes locked on his
"D-done? Lots of stuff, a course, " he answers with genuine confusion, and this basically answers your question.
'Do I really want to be the one to corrupt this seemingly angelic young man?' You think to yourself. As you mull this thought over your eyes, don't leave his, and you can see the gears turning in his head as he makes sense of what you asked him, and you can see the moment where the pieces fall into place.
"Oh... wow, miss." His face turns bright red again.
You sit back in your chair, and he picks up on your hesitation right away.
He scrambles out of his chair and onto his knees in front of you.
"Not much at all, miss. Not much at all... but....but.... but you can show me?" He looks up at you all eagerness and beautiful blue eyes.
'Call me the devil' you think to yourself as you slip out of your chair and onto your knees with Billy.
You grab him by the cheeks and pull his face towards yours as he shuffles closer towards you on his knees.
You press your lips against his, and he eagerly tries to kiss you back he's a bit over excited, and his kiss is sloppy, but this serves to excite you more as you smile into the kiss.
You nibble his bottom lip as he whimpers, and he does the same back to you.
You pull back and smile at him, his face is flushed, and his eyes are almost all pupil.
"Let's get a bit more comfortable, yeah?" You ask as you get up and reach your hand out to him.
He nods as he stands up, following you over to the bed like he is in a daze.
You sit on the edge of the bed and take your shoes off .
"C'mere," you pat the bed beside you. Billy sinks down next to you, breathing fast and fingers twitching.
You lean in close to his ear and whisper, "No shoes on the bed." You then crawl up onto the bed as he tries to get his shoes off as quickly as possible.
You lay back and motion for him to join you. He turns and crawls towards you on his hands and knees. You grab him by his collar, pulling him over you, slotting him between your legs.
He looks down on you, his body slightly shaking.
You start to unbutton his jacket, and he loses patience plucking the buttons quickly and tossing the jacket to the floor. Once it's off he looks down at you smiling as if awaiting further instruction.
You grab his cheeks and pull him down to you, kissing him gently. He kisses back with passion, grabbing the sides of your face and pressing his lips to yours harshly.
"Billy...... take your time, love." You giggle as he presses his forehead to yours.
"Sorry, miss. Got a little caught up in it, is all. " he brings his face down to yours and starts to kiss you this time calmly but still with purpose. He pushes his tongue against your lips, and you open your mouth, enjoying the sensuality.
"You're a quick study," you say as he pulls his face back to breathe.
His cheeks tinge pink again as he goes to kiss you again.
"Let's get these off first," you say, tugging at his waistband. That is all you needed to say. Billy had his trousers off so fast that you thought he very well may have just torn them from his body.
You slide your panties off as Billy crawls back toward you, his eyes like dinnerplates as he watches.
You pull the skirts of your dress up to your hips.
"C'mere" you reach out toward him.
He crawls back over to you, retaking his previous position between your thighs. There is noticeably less fabric separating you two as he lowers himself back on top of you.
The two of you begin to devour each other. He holds your cheek with one hand and your hip with the other. His body slightly shivering as he pushes himself up against your core, the fabric of his boxers, the only thing separating your flesh.
He whimpers as he presses up against you harder and harder, desperate for friction.
"Take them off," you whisper to him
He quickly shoves his boxers down his legs and yanks them off his feet, tossing them to the floor.
"I ummm.... I don't.....ummmm.... have anything with me, " he says nervously as he bites his lower lip.
"That's ok." You were too far gone to care at this point, and judging by his response, so was he.
He pushes himself into your heat slowly as he whimpers.
"Are you ok? Is this ok?" He grips your hip tightly as he continues pushing himself in slowly
" Perfect, sweet Billy," you coo. You were all too aware this was going to be a very quick affair but you wanted it anyway.
Billy bottoms out and doesn't move. He just hovers over you, holding his weight on his elbow, his other hand grasping your hip eyes closed with his bottom lip between his teeth.
You gently trace his jawline with your fingertips, making him shudder.
"I don't think...." he groans." I don't think I can move"
"Shhhh," you pull his face back down to yours and kiss him deeply and slowly. He starts to calm as he slowly starts to drag himself out of you before slowly pushing himself back in.
Just as you suspected, this was short-lived. Billy starts to move himself in and out of you a bit faster, pressing his entire body against yours as he whimpers into your ear.
"Thank you, oh gods, thank you." Just as you feel that band in your lower stomach tightening, Billy reaches his end with a loud groan. He collapses on top of you, his head on your chest, breathing heavily.
"Oh my. Im so sorry...... I didn't mean....oh boy"
You chuckle and kiss his forehead
"Let me show you one more thing," you say seductively. There is no way this man is leaving this room just yet.
He rolls off of you and looks at you quizzically.
You take his long slender hand and bring it to your bud and start to move it in circular motions, applying just the right amount of pressure.
" j-j-just there," you moan out. You lean over and start to kiss him again. The kiss is sloppy and dirty. Billy slides his hands down to your slick folds and gathers some of the mixture of his seed and your wetness and brings it up to your bud, resuming the circular motion you had shown him.
"Ohhh God. Oh god!" Hot waves of pleasure shoot through your entire frame as your body cleches tight. Billy watches on in awe.
You lay back and chuckle.
"Like I said quick study" you say in between labored breaths.
"Too quick....." he says rolling back on top of you.
"Think I need a bit more studyin, ya know. Make sure I got it down"
You chuckle as he moves in for another kiss.
"Just call me the devil"

They don’t talk much most nights. Billy will heat something up from the freezer or, on occasion, he’ll actually cook on the stove.
Max likes frozen dinner nights more because her brother doesn’t get mad if she doesn’t clean her plate. He won’t sit there and stare at her with his eyebrows raised expectantly until she reluctantly takes another bite.
Regardless of the food they’re having, he’ll ask the customary how was your day questions when he picks her up from school. He helps her with her homework, runs through times tables with her until she’s sick of seeing numbers, and he always pours over her report card when it gets sent out.
From what Max gathers from her friends at school, Billy does more than some of their parents do for them. Always signing permission slips without looking at them, letting them walk home by themselves.
Max walked home with her friend once and Billy screamed at her when he found her. She screamed back, and they didn’t have dinner that night, both closed up in their rooms.
At times, Max feels like a burden. Like when they go back-to-school shopping at the end of summer and Billy fusses about only buying supplies on rollback, and complains about the expenses at the register regardless. Makes her keep her hand on the side of the basket the entire time they’re at the store, as if she’s just dying to run away and get yelled at more.
She supposes that Billy cares, but only because he has to.
If he could be rid of her, he would.
She tries to bother him as little as possible. Tries to keep her place here secure because, after all, she has nowhere else to go. All she has left in the world is Billy.
So they don’t talk most nights.
One day in particular, when Max is striding up to the car with her backpack slung over one shoulder, she tries to be less noticeable than usual. Opens and closes the back passenger side door as softly as possible and shuffles her bag into the seat next to her, keeping her head down.
Billy glances at her over his shoulder before he puts the car in drive. Doesn’t ask about her day, which is a good sign that his was probably bad. Max takes a deep breath.
Figures that now is probably the best time, considering his disdain for arguing in the car.
“Do you remember my friend Megan?” she asks, voice small.
Billy reaches out to turn the stereo down a few notches, brows pinching together in thought.
“Lil’ redhead with the braces? Yeah.”
Max nods. Holds onto her seatbelt, almost wringing it in her hands.
“Yeah, her.”
“What about her?”
She can hear her heart thundering in her ears, which is silly, because the worst he can do is say no. She has to remind herself that she hasn’t done anything wrong before she swallows thickly and parts her lips to speak.
They’re barely out of the parking lot, fixing to turn onto the main street when Billy leans forward in his seat to check for oncoming traffic.
“Well,” Max begins, and clears her throat. “She’s having a sleepover this—“
Just as Billy pulls forward, a trucks races by out of nowhere, just barely kissing the front bumper. Max jerks forward in her seat from the abrupt stop, and then back again when Billy floors it.
His driving is usually mildly anxiety-inducing at best, depending on the day, but right now it’s just plain scary. Max grabs onto the door handle, eyes wide as she stares at her brother with his fists clenched tight around the wheel.
They make it to the truck at the next light, which is red, and Billy throws the car in park before he climbs out. In the middle of the street.
Max has never seen him so angry in her life, face red all the way down his neck, veins popping to the surface of his skin as he stalks over to the truck.
The driver mistakes his intent and rolls the window down, probably looking to hurl an insult or two, but Billy reaches in and unlocks the door. Hurls it open and drags the guy out of his seat by his shirt, stretching the seatbelt with him as he starts to dangle half upside-down.
Max rolls her window down, unable to tear her eyes away.
“Why the fuck are you driving in a school zone like that?” Billy growls. He keeps a fist tangled in the front of the guy’s shirt and draws his other back before landing a punch hard on his jaw. “I got my little sister in the car, you piece of shit, I would’ve killed you. Do you understand me?”
Before he can respond, Billy hits him again. Snaps his head back from the force, and blood trickles from his nose.
He gasps out, hands flailing to grab onto anything to keep himself upright, and shakes his head when Billy rears back again.
“Jesus, man, I’m sorry!”
Billy holds his glare for another beat before he clenches his jaw and shoves the guy at the ground, leaving him tangled and still semi-suspended by his seatbelt as he turns and walks back around the car.
When he slides into his seat, he’s breathing hard. Throws the car back into drive just as the light turns green and double checks before he goes, freshly paranoid and still on-edge.
Max watches the man stumble and try to push himself up as cars behind him honk, only rolling the window up once they’re far enough away that she can’t see him clearly anymore.
Billy’s skin is red and bloody around his knuckles, fist clenched around the wheel. After his breath starts to calm, and his hold loosens, he leans back more in his seat and sighs. Glances at Max in the rear view mirror.
“Y’okay?” he asks.
There’s a slight shake in his voice. Max’s heart drops.
“Yeah,” she says. “I’m okay.”
Billy nods. His eyes are glassy when he returns his attention to the road.
“Good. You, um…” he trails off, clearing his throat. “You said something about Megan having a sleepover?”
Max looks down at her lap, fiddling with her seatbelt again.
“I don’t have to go.”
“When is it?”
His voice is so gentle, it almost sounds hurt. Somehow it makes Max feel worse than she does when he yells.
“Saturday,” she says. “It’s okay, I don’t—“
“Hey, relax, I’m not mad at you, alright? I don’t care if you wanna go to a friend’s house this weekend.” He switches his hands on the steering wheel, clenching and unclenching his fingers before he rests his bloodied hand in his lap out of view. “Just let me know what time to drop you off.”
Max nods. She looks back up at Billy when he laughs.
“What?”
“I’m pretty sure that guy pissed his pants.”
She smiles and crinkles her nose.
“Gross.”
“I know.” Billy taps his fingers on the wheel. “Since the sleepover isn’t tonight… you wanna go get a burger or something?”
Max quirks a brow.
“But I have homework.”
“Screw homework, I’m starving.”
She giggles at that. Watches through the window as they pass their usual turnoff, feeling that regular pool of dread morph into something warm in the pit of her stomach.

Scream Queen Book 1: Conventional Final Girl
Chapter 5
Chapter 4 / Chapter 6
P.S. lmk if y'all would like to be added to the tag list
“Sidney Prescott and (y/n) (l/n) both escaped a vicious attack last night but one of them is the daughter of Maurine Prescott, who was brutally murdered last year when convicted killer Cotton Weary broke into their home and savagely raped and tortured the deceased. Cotton Weary is currently awaiting an appeal for the death sentence, handed down after the young Sidney testified against him…” The reporter just went on and on through the tv screen. Tatum was rubbing Sid’s arm as a sign of everything will be okay. I held Sid’s hand to signify the same message, gently squeezing it so she knows she’s not alone. “It’s never going to stop is it?” She asked with a small chuckle.
As Dewey sat across from us he notified, “Billy was released.”
Sidney’s face faltered once she heard this, I think she’s still afraid of it all. I on the other hand slouched back with a wave of relief.
“His celular bill was clean, he didn’t make those calls,” Dewey said as he sat back in the chair, “We’re checking every celular account in the county. Any calls made to you two or Casey Becker are being cross referenced, it’s going to take some time but we’ll find 'em.”
I squeezed Sid’s hand again and Tatum lightly punched her arm. “Okay,” was all Sid could really say right now.
“We’ve got this, Sis.” I said to her with a small smile.
I guess pulling up to school in a patrol car was cool? Kind of gave a real “Back off” vibe when we stepped on the school grounds. “Don’t worry girls, it’s school. You’ll be safe here.” Dewey reassured us...but if there’s a possibility that the killer is another student, is it really all that safe? Reporters swarmed us once Sid and I were completely out of the car. One woman going as far as asking, “So how does it feel to be almost brutally butchered?” Seriously what thee fuck? Sid and Tatum walked ahead of me right as I was ready to hook it to another reporter like I did to Gale. Sadly enough though I was stopped by two pairs of arms holding me back while my legs went swinging.
“Let me at ‘em!” I exclaimed to my mystery captors.
“Not a chance little Nancy Thompson,” I could hear Randy’s voice from my left.
“Yeah these reporters are worse than any Freddy Kruger!” And then there was Stu’s cackle from the right.
“Fine screw it, I just don’t want to see anymore of them haggling Sid again.” I said as I slightly jumped out at the flock of reporters.
“Uh, where did Sid go anyways” I asked the two boys as I spun around. Finally seeing her talking to Weathers I tried to beeline but Stu held me back.
“Dude, (y/n) slow your roll. Syd’s just talking to her,” Stu said as he secured me against his chest. I did my best to hide the red embarrassment all over my face.
“Yeah probably fixing the mess you made last night,” Randy said as he rolled my eyes.
His words struck something in me, I just calmed down and stopped fight Stu’s hold, if anything I was holding myself now.
Stu punched Randy in the arm before said, “Way to go man.”
“Wha- I-” Randy was about to pick his own fight with Stu again.
I beat them to it when I turned around still in Stu’s grasp and said, “No he’s right, what I did last night was reckless and now Sidney is the one who has to clean it up.” I leaned my head on Stu’s chest.
“C’mon (y/n), it wasn’t that bad?” Randy backpedaled on his words to try and make me feel better but lets face it, when you punch someone on national tv… it’s pretty bad.
At our lockers we waited around for the bell to ring. “This is a mistake, we shouldn't be here,” Sid said as she gathered her books. I’m honestly with her on that, it’s a total scare fest in the halls today. “I want you to meet me right here after class, okay Sid?” Tatum addressed my step sister but left me out of the question. Peaking my head over my locker door I arched an eyebrow. “I’ll walk you out of class (y/n),” Stu pipped in before looking at himself in a mirror. “Yeah okay Chicken Stew,” I rolled my eyes, trying not to laugh at my own pun. I thought Stu would’ve laughed but before he could Sid said, “Hey I haven’t really seen Billy around, is he really pissed?” What the fuck Sidney? I thought. “Oh after you branded him the Candyman? No, his heart’s broken!” Stu exclaimed, earning a punch from Tatum. He said “ow” as Tatum said his name in a stern frustrated manner.
Someone came running down the hall in what’s now been dubbed the ‘Ghostface’ costume as they screamed bloody murder while jumping out at people. I let out a squeal before grabbing hold of Stu’s tan and white over shirt. Feeling heat rise up to my face I quickly let go and lightly brushed out my hair to compose myself. Stu turned around and pinched my cheeks, “Awe is (y/n) scewed of da big bad boo-gy man?” I swatted his hands away while saying, “Given recent events, yeah obviously.” Shuffling past Stu and over to Sid I notice his expression change for a split second for playful to envious. “Come on (y/n), you punched Gale Weathers on live news, I think you’ll be fine if you get yelled at by a kid in a costume,” Tatum said as she playfully rolled her eyes with a smirk. I couldn’t take it anymore, whether it was the embarrassment, the fear, the secrets, or the regret. I just couldn’t. I ran off from the group as both Tatum and Sid shouted after me.
As I ran down the hall I bumped into another figure.
“Shit!” I exclaimed as I pushed off of them.
“Hey it’s just me,” I heard an all too familiar voice say to me.
“Oh-oh… Billy,” I said as I backed away.
Waving his index finger between us he asked, “You still think it’s me?”
I reassure him I don’t by saying, “No, I don’t I was just shocked to see you.” As I fiddled with my shirt.
“I swear it’s not me (y/n),” Billy said stepping forward.
Looking up at him I said, “I know Billy, there was still someone in the house that night though. So can you please-” I cut myself off seeing the lack of inches in the space between Billy and I.
“I know, I know, the cops say I scared him away. It wasn’t me (y/n).” He said as he looked down at me a little.
“I know, he called us again when we were at Tatum’s…”
“See! Couldn’t have been me, I was in jail,” Billy said as he turned over his hands to reveal inky fingerprints. “Remember?”
“I’m sorry, but please understand,” I started as I looked up.
“Understand what? My girlfriend and her little step sister would rather accuse me of being a psychopathic killer than touch me?” Billy looked back down at me, I could smell the spearmint gum roll off his breath.
“You know that’s not true…” I said as I knitted my eyebrows together and grabbed a hold of his arm.
“Then what is it?” He asked, hurt and confusion heard in his voice.
“Billy, Sid and I were attacked and nearly filleted last night?!” I asked, slightly appalled he’d even ask as if it weren’t clear.
“I mean between us…” Billy said as his eyes stared down into my soul with an intensity I’ve never seen before.
“What do you mean between us?” I asked at this point very confused as I let go of him and take a step back.
“Isn't it obvious (y/n)? For the past five months, the smirks, the glances, the nudging, the little notes, Stu and I being practically all over you?” Billy said as he used his free hand that wasn’t on the banister to wave around.
“No it wasn’t obvious! I mean Stu I knew about but you?! Billy, you’re my sister’s boyfriend!” I exclaimed, getting justifiably annoyed and upset.
“Not anymore, she practically broke up with me the night at the station!” He raised his voice, making me flinch a little, he must’ve noticed since he let his body relax a little.
“Look Billy I’ve had a crush on you and Stu for months but I know for sure this isn’t the way to go about things. Sidney didn’t say she broke up with you and I’m not going to just be a rebound to make her jealous.” I said resting my hand above his on the banister.
Billy scoffed before saying, “(y/n), be real here Sid doesn’t want to see me anymore and like I said, the past five months…” Billy let his words trail off as he came closer to me, placing his hand on my forearm. Just like at the lockers my head was racing and everything felt so wrong, I just couldn’t take it. I just stepped away, shaking my head while I walked off letting Billy shout my name.
Turning around to look at him I said, “I’m sorry if me having good morality for my sister’s relationship is an inconvenience to you and your perfect existence!” I exclaimed before turning back round.
“What? What do yo- Nobody said that, (y/n)!” Billy shouted after me but it just faded out as I ran away.
Stomping my way into the bathroom I make my way over to one of the sinks, I dig in my backpack for an aspirin or something.
“They were never attacked, I think they made it all up,” I heard one of the bathroom stalls say.
“Why would they lie about that?” A girl in another stall asked
“For attention, the girl and her sister have some serious issues!” The first girl replies.
Part of me wanted to hide in the bathroom stall like the sad girls in the movies always did but then I remembered, this is life. In life you just gotta roll with the punches, so I’m doing just that, except this time I might punch back. Right when the two walk out of the stalls their faces dropped. Yeah I assumed seeing the face of one of your gossip subjects will do that to ya. I kept staring at them as they washed their hands, too scared to even look in my general direction. As they walked out I did that stupid petty way where you swish your fingers up and down. Finally I can cry in peace, I thought as I walked into an empty stall. Deciding that the short few seconds I’ve been in here were enough for me to feel refreshed I walk out, my eyes red and puffy while my lashes stick together.
“Pathetic,” I said into the mirror. I always thought I held myself to a higher standard than this, not really with the crying thing. More so with the Stu and Billy thing…
I don’t have time to think about it much when I hear a strange noise in the restroom. Getting low to the ground I check underneath all the stalls. Empty. Looking around I notice a loud vent in the wall, that must’ve been it. As I go back to shuffling around my bag I could’ve sworn I heard someone whisper my name. Maybe it’s better to ignore it? Slowly and carefully I get back down low to check again. This time I’m met with a pair of beat up leather work boots dropping down from the stall. “Oh shit,” I whispered to myself.
The stall door unlatches quickly and I try to make a run for it but I’m caught by the Ghostface.
Thrashing around as he holds back my arms I asked, “Alright real funny, who is it? Stu, Rand, Billy? If this is some sort of pay back then it won’t work!” The man behind the mask said nothing, but he violently jerked my face to the bathroom mirror. “What?” I ask, my face clearly showing malevolence towards whoever it is pulling the prank. That was until he pulled out an eight-inch long hunting knife. He slowly and lightly dragged the knife along my torso, from the collar of my cropped shirt all the way down to the button of my low rise jeans, applying extra pressure near my zipper. “Ya’ know if I wasn’t so skeptical about you trying to kill me right now we could probably take this in a very different direction,” I said as a more matter-of-factly sentence. I’m not sure if this shocked the masked murderer or gave him a change of heart but his grip loosen and I BOOKED IT! I slammed the bathroom door open passing by a couple of teachers but I really just wanted to get the hell out of here.
After calming down a little bit I got outside of the school just quick enough to hear Principal Himbry say, “Attention now kids, due to the recent events that have occurred effective immediately, all classes are suspended until further notice,” Holy shit, “The Woodsboro police department has issued a citywide curfew beginning at nine o’clock tonight.” The whooping and hollering cheers that were so loud just a second ago died down into monotone boos. At least we’re out of school?
“It was just some sick fuck having a laugh, sue me.” Tatum said as she rolled her eyes at me.
“No, it was him Tatum I know it. Or else he wouldn’t have had a huge ass hunting knife!” I exclaimed in a huff.
“Okay well, you're not to be alone anymore. If you pee, we all pee. Is that clear?” Asked Tatum
Sid and I looked each other up and now simultaneously say, “Ew, please no.”
Spooking up from behind us was Stu as he blabbered nonsensical words that most likely would’ve made sense if we were paying attention.
“I don’t know what you did girls,” He said handing each of us flowers, “but on behalf of the entire student body we all say THANK YOU!” Stu shouted full force from his lungs.
“Stop it Stu,” Tatum said as she hit him with the little purple flower.
I was so distracted by the two that I didn’t notice Stu change targets and come barreling towards me, hoisting me over his shoulder.
“Stu! Oh my god asshole! I’d like to be returned to the security of my feet on the ground!” I shout at I hit his back with my palms.
In the midst of my one sided battle Stu announces, “To celebrate this impromptu fall break, I propose we have a party. Tonight at my house!”
Looking over to my right I see my step sister’s face contort into an emotion of unease, “Are your sure?”
“Yeah as long as this little vixen doesn’t invite the entire world!” Stu exclaims as he motions to his girlfriend who is currently keeping me company by swinging my free hand.
Stu goes on by saying, “Intimate gather, intimate friends,” whilst poking my thigh right below my ass. He should be glad Tatum didn’t see that one.
“What do you say Sid? I mean pathos could have it’s perks?” Tatum piped up just as Stu let me down. Now Tatum and I have switched spots beside Stu.
“Could totally protect you, yo I’m so buff, I got you covered bro!” Stu does a macho man impersonation as he twirls around Tatum.
I fall a little back from the group, wondering if Billy will be there… he most likely will, won’t he?
“I mean c'mon Sid? (Y/n), you with me? It could be fun.” Tatum says as she turns to us both.
While the girls were focused on each other Stu looked over at me and snapped me out of my thoughts, literally. The loud noise made me look up.
“Huh?” I asked, looking at the trio in front of me.
“The party (y/n), you in?” Tatum asked as Stu kissed her neck
“Yeah fine, whatever. I’m in,” I said as I walked up in front of them.
“Niiice,” Stu growled out, “Cool, you guys bring food, alright?”
I don't know what it was but Stu did something which prompted me to shout, “You’re being weird Stu!”

Someone asked, what was Elvis like as brother, this should answer that question.
It was the 4th of July. Rick said, he had invited a couple of friends up to Graceland, to celebrate the 4th with us and Elvis. His friends brought a badminton set with them.
Rick and I thought, what the heck, we'll play. So, we set it up for them. Then, we divided up into teams. Rick and one of his girlfriends and me with her friend.
Everything was going pretty good, until. The girl on myside was having problems hitting the "birdie", every time the "birdie" went over my head, I'd look back to see if she hit it. When I looked back this time, just as soon as I turned my head, I felt a sharp pain in my eye. She hit it alright, but it hit me directly in the center of my eye. I didn't even have time to close my eye before it hit.
I fell to the ground, with my hands over my eye. Rick and his friends ran over to me. Rick asked, are you okay? I laid there, and said. I don't think so, Rick. Rick said, look at me. I looked at him, and tried to open my eye, but it wouldn't open. Rick asked one of the girls to go get some ice. Then he asked me to stand up. I said, I'd better not Rick. It really hurts, just let me lay here.
When the girl came back with the ice, Rick placed it on my eye. I laid there for a couple of minutes, then Rick said. Let's see if you can open it now. I took the ice pack off my eye and opened it. I couldn't see anything, just red.
Rick said, I'm taking you to the emergency room. Rick helped me to the car, and told his friends he'd see them later. He took me to Methodist South, which was just down the road from Graceland. When we got to the hospital, Rick did all the talking. I was too scared to talk. They told Rick, we'll take care of him. It'll be an hour of so before you can see him. Rick said, okay. Then he told me, don't worry Billy, you'll be okay. I'm going to tell Elvis what happened, right now. I'll be back in a little while. I said, okay Rick.
When I was in the E.R. the doctor said, there's not much I can do, until the swelling goes down. I asked, will I be able to see again, doc? He said, I hope so. This made me even more scared than I already was. They wrapped the top part of my head with a bandage, from my nose up. Then I was wheeled to a room.
I was in the room, alone and scared. Suddenly, I heard Rick and Elvis. Rick said, here he is Elvis. Elvis said, you'll be okay Billy. He took my hand, then said. The first thing we'll do is, get you outta this place. I'm sending you to my doctor. Doctor David Myers. He has his own hospital. I said, thanks Elvis. Then he said, don't you worry Billy, I'll make sure you'll see again. Then, I heard a couple of the guys, that worked for Elvis. They all came up to me, and gave me encouraging words.
About an hour or so later, I was taken to Dr. Meyer's hospital, it was behind Baptist Hospital, downtown. Dr. Meyer's came in, and said. Elvis said, to treat you as royalty. My hospital is yours, Billy. I said, all I care about right now is my eye, Doc. Dr. Meyers said, let me take care of that, Billy. You'll be fine. Then he said, I'm going to let the swelling go down, then I'll take a look at it.
The next day, Dr. Meyers took the bandage off, and looked at my eye. He said, you'll be okay, Billy. I said, I still can't see, Dr. Meyers. Everything looks red. Then he explained what was happening. He said, you have 2 thin layers covering your eye, blood is between those layers, that's why everything looks red. But, the blood will go away, in about a week or so. I said, so I get to go home. He said, no. You need to stay here, until then. We'll be putting some eye drops in your eye every day, several times a day and keep the bandages on both your eyes. I asked, why both eyes doc? He said, he didn't want me to strain my other eye, while I was healing. I felt much better, then.
The next day, I heard Elvis, and the guys enter my room. It's funny, I knew Elvis was in the room, before he said anything. That's how strong his presence was. He walked up to the bed and took my hand. He said, I hear you'll be okay, Billy. I said, yeah. That's what Dr. Meyers said. Then Elvis said, if you need anything, just let me know. I'll get it for you. I began to cry, I said. You've done enough Elvis, thank you. Then all the guys started saying. Laying around on the job, again Billy. That made me laugh. Then we all talked for a little while. Everyone wanted to know how I was being treated, and what happened to my eye.
When we were finished, Elvis said, he needed to go. I thanked him and the guys for coming to see me. And, I thanked Elvis again, for everything he was doing for me. Elvis said, no problem, Billy, that's what brothers do. Just get well soon. Then he whispered in my ear. I love you, Billy. Then I felt a kiss on my forehead. I whispered back, I love you too, Elvis.

Chokehold - Ch. 1
Chokehold Masterlist
Tagging @roundroald, since they asked so nicely.
Pairing: Billy Butcher x Fem!Reader
Word count: 3,574
Summary: After stumbling your way into the boys crew, you quickly realize you're a little out of your depth when it comes to protecting yourself. You thought you could be sly and take some self-defense classes without telling the others. But Butcher has a nose for secrets and demands to take over your lessons. Learning a bit of jiu jitsu from one Billy Butcher can't be that terrible...can it?
Warning: Mentions of injuries and The Boys level of violence, swearing, slight implication of domestic violence. Smut to come in future chapters.
A/N: This was originally supposed to be a one shot, but my brain kept adding to it. Just this part alone took longer for me to write than I wanted, so this may be slow going. But it is in motion! Takes place in some vague space between end of S2 and early half of S3. This is the first fic I've shared in years, first attempt at writing Butcher, and my very first fic in 'x reader' format. It's not the most creative title but it's what my brain can manage right now. I'm open to constructive criticism, but please be kind. I hope you guys enjoy!
Sometimes, you questioned your decision-making skills. If the last few months were any indication, it was a skill you didn't have, period. After all, who goes from a normal, anonymous life to joining your old friend Hughie and his weird, motley gang of former vigilantes? Originally, you had only joined Neuman's team as a project to fill holes in your resume and to reconnect with Hughie. You'd heard he had gone AWOL after Robin's untimely death, but what a shock it'd been when you finally met for coffee and caught up on his new life. Maybe it'd been that sense of shock and awe over his stories, or maybe your innate slight distrust of supes and Vought that he had once teased you about in your younger years. But you'd been curious. And that adorable puppy dog look he gave you when he asked for a little help on one of his group's missions hadn't hurt either.
It was supposed to be a little favor, a one-time thing for an old pal. But then you'd met the boys, this rag-tag lot he was with now, and for all their dysfunctionality, you'd been oddly charmed by them. You'd been swayed by their mission, to finally hold those super-roided celebrities accountable, and the adrenaline of an unexpected car chase during your favor must've jolted something loose in your brain. Pushing flyers and setting up calls in Neuman's call-center wasn't nearly enough after that. You wanted to be part of the growth that had altered Hughie so much. To watch the quirky banter of MM and Frenchie, to get to know the woman Kimiko was, and give her the friend she'd been denied growing up.
And then there was Butcher.
You would have been a liar if you had said that you didn't have mixed impressions about him in the beginning. To say you found him attractive would have been an understatement, though you'd be damned if you'd ever let anyone know that. While his brusque sarcasm and biting temper had been slightly off-putting, it was his smarmy charm, flashes of quicksilver intelligence, and that indomitable will that kept you from walking away altogether. Ever since you had joined the crew, you had given up counting the number of times he irritated the shit out of you. And the number of times you'd caught yourself a little too drawn to Butcher in those briefest glimpses of a softie in him. Like when you'd fallen asleep in the flatiron office and woke with that battered coat draped over you. Or he'd given you the last of his food with a grumble when your stomach protested loudly at you for working too long on a lead.
Hughie had always said that your favorite color was "red-on-a-flagpole". And for your sanity, you'd deny as stubbornly as the day was long that you liked the bastard.
But the new eventually wears off, and the deeper you dove into their world, the darker the waters became. You learned quickly that adrenaline wasn't just a fun little rush in this life - it was a necessity. A lifeline when dealing with supes and their equally narcissistic associates. You learned the hard way how easily you could drown…
Now, leaning against the cool wall of the elevator as it rose to the flatiron office, you were certain your decision-making skills were poor. Well-intentioned but poor. You wiggled the fingers of your right hand slowly, wincing at the jolts it sent in your arm. Trying to bend it per usual sent pain in either direction out from your elbow. It was far from broken but it wasn't comfortable either.
"Damn," you cursed under your breath. This was going to be a lot harder to hide than your previous injuries. If your assumptions were correct though, the others had long left the office and were out about minding their own little businesses. Hughie with Annie, MM had his daughter for the night, Frenchie and Kimiko out for whatever little pleasantry that would make her smile for a while, and Butcher…Well, probably still sniffing out a lead on a supe, tirelessly plotting.
When the elevator announced its arrival, you shrugged the bag on your left shoulder back up from a slouch and stepped out. You would touch up on some paperwork you had left behind earlier to "run your errands", then head back to your place. The evening plans consisted of a hot shower, some leftovers for dinner, and tossing the items in your bag into the laundry. If you were lucky, you would get a full five hours sleep before rolling out of bed again for another long day of supe hunting. Or convincing Hughie and Victoria to let you back out in the field again after your mishap a while back.
A couple of the desk lamps had been left on in the office space, and some of the city backdrop bounced rays off the walls, but it was still a little dim for your liking. You switched your own desk lamp on, perusing over the files of most recent cases now cast in the amber glow. So much damn paperwork.
"Who winged ya, little birdy?"
You manage to only slightly jump at the voice just in front of you. Instead of out plotting, Butcher sat at the desk on the other side of yours, arms crossed and an inquisitive curl at his lip. His eyes, however, screamed interrogation. How had you not seen him in that audacious Hawaiian shirt, even in the dark?
"Christ, Butcher," you groaned. "You normally just sit in the dark like that? You could have given me a heart attack."
"Like we'd be rid of you so easily," he chuffed, rising from his seat. "Now don't avoid the question. It'd be terribly rude if you did that, wouldn't it?"
"I'm not sure what you're talking about." You shrugged, feigning ignorance. You had a strong feeling he wasn't buying it. "I'm good."
"Oh? Really?" He quirked a brow at you as he picked up one of the files from your desk. "Just here for a little light reading then. Don't let me keep you waiting." He held it out to you with a nod. You slid the bag off your shoulder onto the floor and reached with your left hand. He snatched it back just out of reach, then extended it to your right hand with a pointed look.
You tried to play along, even managed to lift your arm without a wince. But the shock in your elbow made your reach noticeably slower, and the twitch in your fingers brought that all too familiar smirk to his face. You sighed in defeat, dropping the file back on the desk. "It's nothing," you muttered.
"And the bruises on your legs? Or the ones on your arms? Those all nothing?" When you blinked at him in surprise he continued, "C'mon, Y/N. Hughie sees you everyday at Neuman's and he ain't blind. Even if he was, you've walked into this place stiff as arthritis for a while. So…" Butcher's smirk faded as he took a step forward, just enough to fill your space. "...Who did it? There a heavy-handed Romeo you ain't told us about?"
"What? No! Butcher, it's not like that," you sputtered, nearly laughing at the idea of him hunting down said imaginary Romeo. But the look on his face killed whatever humor you had. "I'm either working at this office with all of you, or I'm at the other one with Hughie. Like I have time for anything else."
"But for weeks now you got time to run supposed errands and slink back here long after hours? Conveniently when everybody would be gone?" Before you could blink he yanked your bag off the floor. "You gonna tell me this ain't an overnight bag? That you're not avoiding your place?"
"No, it's not. I don't have a - HEY!" He ignored your protest as he quickly unzipped the bag and dove a hand in to pull out some of the contents. Butcher's face quickly shifted from a scowl to confusion when he pulled out not regular clothes or toiletries, but a thick white belt with a black tail. Pulling it open further, a white gi stared at you both. He wagged the black tail of the belt at you.
"You gonna tell me the fuck this is about? Karate, really?"
"It's not karate. It's jiu jitsu," you replied, trying not to grit your teeth at how he rolled his eyes. "Now can I have my stuff back, or are you suddenly into my sweaty clothes?"
"What you doing this for?" He tossed the bag to you and you glared in response. "You gonna grapple those bloody files into writing themselves, eh? Maybe turn Hughie into a pretzel for a laugh at the bureau?," he leers.
"I'm trying to get out of here!," you snapped, surprised at how loud your voice echoed back. You took a deep breath before gingerly shoving your stuff back into your bag. "I'm trying to get out of both offices. I want back out there. Out in the field with you and the rest of the boys. I'm cooped up here but Hughie won't even think of talking Neuman into assigning me to an operation. Not since…" You stopped, swallowing back frustration.
"Since that cunt got the drop on you and took you hostage," Butcher finished flatly.
As he nodded in realization you knew he was remembering it as much as you. You'd ignored Hughie's orders and went in as backup when bringing in a supe and their accomplice on human trafficking allegations. It had gone sour and you had tried to sneak into the warehouse to help. Instead of saving them, the accomplice had snuck up on you, nearly resulting in a trade off for the arrested supe. You had been so sure you could handle your own, save the day. The only thing that had saved the day was Butcher dropping from a balcony onto you both…and promptly emptying several rounds into your captor's screaming mouth. Sometimes you wondered if there was still one of their teeth hiding in your hair.
"So what?," he asked, tearing you from the memory. "You thought a few hours at a gym and you'd just skip back out there?"
"You know Hughie will never let me on another operation unless I can prove that I can handle myself."
"Little shit would wrap your ass in bubble wrap if he knew he could get away with it, and roll you out the door from it all!," he snapped. "For starters, what the hell is jiu jitsu - or any self-defense combat form - gonna do you when a supe get their hands on you? Like A-Train? Black Noir? Or that star-spangled cunt?"
"Like we're even close to going after any of the Seven right now! We're stuck with B, C, and D list assholes and you know it! And how would it be any different than the rest of you with all your training?"
"Which brings me to my other point, " he cuts you off. "The lot of us are knee deep in experience, at least. Military, terrorism, gang shit. We all have gotten our hands bloody. We're killers, love. Even Hughie, or did you forget? So why the fuck would you stroll into a dojo that's probably sponsored by Vought anyway, instead of coming to one of us, eh?"
You scoffed, couldn't help it. "Right. I'm supposed to just assume that Mr. Billy Badass is gonna have the will or time of day to teach me self-defense?"
"Now that hurt me feelings, " Butcher replied, holding a mocking hand over his heart. "Oh ye of little faith. I suppose whatever bloke you rolled with tonight is far safer than yours truly. Oh wait." Here he glanced at your arm with a jeer and a nod. "Lemme guess - sparred with someone who likes it a little rough?"
You rolled your eyes. "My rolling partner was fine," you grumbled before admitting, "I did it to myself. He…He caught me in an armbar and I thought I'd try toughing it out a little longer before I'd tap."
He made a tsking noise of disapproval. "Stupid, wasn't it? Is he white belt or color belt?"
"White, four stripes. I think he tests for blue soon."
"Then you're fucking lucky. There's a reason they say spazzy ass white belts cause the most injuries. If you ignore your limits in a safe, cozy class setting, why the fuck would any bad guy out there hesitate on your behalf?" He steps forward to lift your bad arm up, not too fast but it still smarts.
"Straighten your arm all the way out. Slow." You try to do so but hiss in pain just shy of the mark, leaving your forearm at a slight angle. "You'll live. Strained, maybe a slight sprain, that's all." He shuffles past you to the mini-fridge tucked in the corner and tosses you a half empty bag of pizza rolls. You almost laugh at the impromptu ice bag and apply it to the protesting joint.
"You're not going back," he says, as if commenting on the weather. And before you can say anything he's herding you across the room to the couch by the TV. "Keep that on for about fifteen minutes and we'll get started right after." He gives an unceremonious push and you plop onto the cushions with a huff.
"I'm sorry, wha-? Butcher, I'm not quitting! I need to-!"
"I didn't say quit," he answered over his shoulder with a slight grunt as he begins shifting a couple of the desks outwards. "What I said was you're not going back to that bleeding dojo. But knowing your stubborn, annoying ass-" He shifts the coffee table past the TV. "-you're just gonna find another bastard ready to take your money and give you a false sense of security. You really wanna roll that bad..?" He slides the rug out far enough to his liking before sitting back on his heels with a little nod. Then looks up at you with that trademark, crooked smirk.
"You're rolling with me now, love."
You blink at him, your stomach doing a little flip at his words. Sure, when you started jiu jitsu it had been a bit uncomfortable having strangers literally on top of you. In your face, up in your little bubble. After awhile though, you adjusted and you had actually started looking forward to class. But the implication of what Butcher had just said, realizing that he was going to be the one up in your personal space, shifting and heavy and pinning -
You immediately cut off that line of thought. "I-I-I've already rolled. And I don't wanna make my arm worse."
"You're right. You've caught me in a rather generous mood. We're not rolling together now. But you…" He moved and stood over you with a grin. "You're going to drill tonight. Nothing that requires your arm and I'll see exactly what I'm working with. From here on out, I'll be the one to train you, teach you the kinda shit you can actually use when shit goes sideways. If I'm lucky, as short a time you've been training, I won't have to do too much de-programming of whatever the fuck they taught you."
"Butcher-" You go to stand but when you reach your feet he gives you a look that almost has you wobble back on your heels.
"I ain't asking. It's me or nothing." It comes out as a low rumble that will not be questioned. "Do you want back out there or not?"
It's immediately clear that this situation isn't going to be backtracked now. The cat was out of the bag and you had to choose. Spend your days in mind-numbing paper stacks, shoved off on the sidelines but relatively safe. Or try to mold yourself into something more self-reliant and capable…by putting yourself at the mercy of one Billy Butcher.
There's a heavy beat, as he still stares at you, unblinking. Then finally you nod. "Teach me."
The heavy, steely look finally slides off his face. "Good choice. Now come over here." He waves at the open floor space he's created and uses the other hand to steer you into it. "Sit your ass down here and pay attention. It's a simple mobility drill. I'll show you only once. I'm not here to do fucking jazzercise. You'll start once we're done icing your arm."
Butcher settles down to sit straight legged on the hardwood floor, a heavy hand on your good shoulder bringing you with him. You barely manage to not fall on your ass and mimic his stance. "Make a figure four." He pulls in his left leg so his foot is next to his right knee and you do the same. "We'll change your arm position later but tonight you're gonna cradle that wing of yours to your chest. Point is to not use your arms to get up, but your hips. Shift your ass forward." He crosses his arms and moves up into a kneeling position, left shin and knee posted under him, right foot flat in front, his knee just past a 90-degree angle. "See?"
You mimic him again, cradling your elbow like he said and stop once up off the floor. A small pat - almost a swat - on your back startles you, and at your look of confusion he says, "Up straight, don't roll your back. If your back ain't straight, you're not using your hips." When you straighten up he settles the same hand into the small of your back and slowly pushes you forward. "And that's about as far as you should be putting yourself on that front foot. Combat stance. If I tell you to hold that position, you hold it till I say so. Got it?"
You nod. Seemingly satisfied, he continues. "Alright. Now go in reverse back the way you started." He rewinds, sitting back, straightens his legs and you follow suit. It dawns on you as you do so that moving on bare, hardwood floors is nothing like moving on the padded mats in class.
"Then switch legs and do the same thing." This time he doesn't move, just watches you slowly follow his instruction. You mind your posture this time, pause for a second and glance at him before reversing back to sitting on the floor again.
Butcher stands, taking the bag of pizza rolls out of the cradle of your elbow as he does. "When I tell you to do combat hip drill, this is what you're doing. Understand?" You give another nod and he walks to the mini-fridge to shove the bag back into the freezer. When you shift to stand up he shakes his head. "Nuh uh. You start now. Go."
He moves past you, back to the couch behind you as you start to go through the motions of the mobility drill. "Pick up your pace, move," he says as he sinks down onto the cushions. You pause at the top of the move to look back at him with a bit of a scowl.
"How many am I supposed to do?," you ask, already noting the protest in your tailbone, knees and shins from the contact on the floor.
"Till I tell you to stop," he grins, stretching his arms out across the back of the couch. "And I didn't say that yet, now did I? Chop, chop!"
You glared at his too-happy grin before rolling your eyes and continuing the drill. Back down, switch legs, up. Back down, switch legs, up. Once or twice he has you pause, hold the pose. But the drill continues. Back down, switch legs, up. After only a few short minutes, feeling his eyes on you the whole time, you begin to notice that you're already feeling some fatigue. Clearly, you hadn't fully recovered from class earlier. You feel a little embarrassed that you're already starting to huff. And you can't help but wonder just what the hell did you sign up for?
After another moment or two, you sit up once again, not quite as forward, not as high. You start to sag back down when there's a sudden pressure just between the small of your back and your tailbone, almost throwing you forward and off balance. You totter over the forward knee for a brief second before restabilizing and whirling round with wide eyes. Surely he did not-!
Oh but he did. Butcher's boot is at your belt line, keeping you posted up. "Hold. When you start again, you keep the pace and move all the way through. You better not half-ass or slouch again. Otherwise…" He taps his toes on your lower back and smirks.
For a brief moment you consider grabbing that damn boot and giving it a good, friendly twist. But the ache in your elbow, and the look in his eye that says he's pretty much read your mind, tells you it's a no-go. You dampen down the urge and he pulls it back as you face forward and hold the up position. A few moments pass before he finally tells you to resume the drill. It's in that moment you know you have your answer.
Hell. You're pretty sure you just signed up for hell.

Prove Me Wrong
Chapter 12: Don't Be A Stranger
If you need to catch up here's the masterlist
Summary: Apparently... Jess has new plans for Christmas
Warnings: Mentions of Neil (gross), crude language, cursing, Neil being homophobic if you squint, Billy being a little shit. I think that's it, but as always, let me know if I missed something.
Word Count: 4.8K
Author's Note: I'm so sorry I've been MIA for so long but I'm officially back from my month and a half vacation! TBH I've missed you guys and hope you all enjoy!
“You chaperoning tonight?” Steve walked with Jess toward the parking lot from the gym as they left practice much earlier than usual. The coaches considered this an “early Christmas present” but ensured the basketball team would be having practice a week before school started again in January. The Snow Ball had been the talk of this school week even if it was only meant for the middle schoolers. However, it had also been an excuse for the high schoolers to throw their own parties or get-togethers, not to mention it marked the beginning of winter break, something everyone, including Jess, was looking forward to.
“Not this year, you?” Jess already knew the answer. Steve never enjoyed that kind of thing, and even if he did, both Nancy and Jonathan would be there tonight, which would have made him want to change his plans.
Steve shook his head but added, “I’m helpin’ mini-Harrison with his hair tonight though and droppin’ him off tonight.”
“Who? Dustin?”
“Hell yeah Dustin. He’s gonna kill it tonight, I know it.” Jess laughed at the thought of Steve combing another teenager’s hair for them.
“So what are your plans tonight then?” Jess contemplated this question. She wasn’t sure whether she would start on the tedious task Mr. Crowley assigned both her and Billy as Billy probably wouldn’t want to spend his first night of freedom studying. Considering the night it was, she was sure that Hargrove already had plans. She then looked out into the lot and saw him leaning against the familiar blue car, cigarette already placed in his mouth of course. Max was there as well, which surprised Jess since their practice was released 20 minutes after Max’s school was.
“Uhm, maybe get a head start on some schoolwork. I’m not sure really.” She kept her eyes on Billy though, hoping that maybe that would change.
“Lame.” Steve teased. He continued to walk with Jess, passing his own car as he did so.
“Uh wasn’t that-“
“I thought I’d walk you. Besides Max is there,” was all he said, keeping his eyes on the pair in front of them now, eyeing Billy skeptically as he walked up. “You excited for tonight, kid? You’re first one, right?”
Max beamed up at Steve, clutching her board as she responded, “Oh yeah, can’t wait, especially since Henderson said you’d be doing his hair again, and that went soooo well last time.” Steve cringed at the memory of two weeks ago, which was described to Jess as a wreck. Dustin apparently was adamant about doing it himself, as he was a hands-on learner apparently, and it ended with screaming from spraying product right in his eye and a small chunk of hair being ripped out due to his hair tangling in the comb, which Dustin swore was due to him balding.
“Yeah well, I’ll be doing it tonight… I think.” Steve began to stare down Billy again who was also looking at him intently, blowing smoke straight at Steve when he glanced over at him.
Steve aggressively waved his hand once to get most of the smoke away from him, annoyed by the gesture. “Harrington.” Billy nodded his direction once Steve was able to get most of the smoke out of his face.
“Hargrove.” They stared at each other for a moment longer when Steve continued, “Guessing you got big plans tonight,” he prodded, insinuating he would be partying with Tommy and Carol, as the pair were always up to something during the Snow Ball.
Billy swiped his teeth with his tongue as he crushed his red with his boot, smirking to himself when he looked down to ensure it was fully put out. “Don’t really know, Harrington. Depends on what this one wants to do.” He gestured toward Jess, which caused Steve to shift uncomfortably, not enjoying the thought of Jess spending as much time as she had been with Hargrove. Steve rolled his eyes at this, being the first to break the staring, and directed his attention back to Max.
“See you when I drop Henderson off. Don’t have too much fun.” He directed his last statement to Jess, shoving her arm lightly as he finished his sentence, flashing her a smile of acceptance to lighten the mood. He made sure to give Billy one last look of disapproval, though, before he turned back in the direction of his own car, shaking his head as he left them.
Jess sighed as she watched her best friend leave. She had made it a point to hang out with Steve more this week, as there wasn’t much for her and Billy to do for their shared reading and she felt as if she had been blowing him off more the past week. However, she felt guilty when she would sometimes imagine what Billy was doing during her moments with Steve.
Considering his failed relationship with Nancy, a relationship that he sacrificed a decent amount of his friends for, she knew he needed her in a way. And the feeling was mutual. He had been the one person she could turn to after the haunting incidents from a year ago and again just a couple months ago. She knew she could never lose Steve. And yet, here she was, spending time with the one person Steve couldn’t stand. Throughout the week Steve had come to accept her and Billy’s strange partnership, which Jess always defended with, “we may as well get along for the project” or “he hasn’t been a total ass yet” occasionally sprinkled in their conversations.
This thought also irritated Jess. She wasn’t able to do right by Steve, her best friend since moving to this town, when she secretly enjoyed Billy’s company. And she couldn’t do right by Billy, a boy who over the past weeks had shown just how great of a friend he could be when she constantly undermined his character around Steve. She began to realize she was running out of time, that she would have to be truthful eventually, and that she was on the verge of hurting someone’s feelings. But just like cleaning out her closet, she decided to push this task for later. After all, she wasn’t exactly lying, was she?
“Okay, Jess, I’m in.” Max’s voice ripped her from her thoughts as she turned back around to face the passenger side of Billy’s vehicle.
“Oh, right.” Jess lowered herself in the seat, placing her bag on the floor of the car as she closed her door softly. Billy still had a smirk plastered on his face as he too watched Steve walk toward his car, but it fell when he shifted his head to Jess who was looking at him, mildly annoyed.
“What?”
“I know you’re just trying to piss him off.”
“You don’t know shit, Jess.” Billy gave her a teasing smile as he reached toward the glove box to retrieve his Ray Bans.
“I know he really doesn’t like you.”
“Yeah, well.” He placed the glass on the bridge of his nose and pulled out of his parking spot, unphased by Jess’s statement. Jess tsked at his nonchalant behavior rolling her eyes slightly, turning up the radio for background music. “So what are you doing tonight, Logan? You’re not one of those freaks who chaperone are you?”
Jess nudged his arm harder than intended. “I used to be, thank you very much. But no, not this year.”
Billy laughed at how offended she was. “I’m just sayin’ I don’t understand why any normal teenager would want to spend their night doing that.”
“It’s not that bad. It’s actually kind of nice.”
“Whatever you say, princess. You know, we haven’t broken in your ‘new’ TV yet.” Billy began to raise his eyebrows at her. “Let me take you to Family Video and actually pick out a good movie.”
“I actually already watched Sixteen Candles this week in my room. So it is broken in.”
“Without me?” Billy pretended to be hurt by this fact, gasping at the end of his question for effect. “After I moved it to your room and everything?”
“You don’t even like that movie.”
“I do!” Max spoke up from behind them, leaning in closer to the middle console as she scooted her body closer to their seats.
Jess turned to face her, smiling triumphantly as she addressed her. “Well then maybe we should have a movie night.” She then eyed Billy smugly, insinuating he was the one who had shit taste in movies. Max bounced excitedly at the thought of this, realizing that she would have all the free time in the world this winter break.
“Alright Logan, you let me pick one movie, and the rest can be all the corny chick flicks and sci-fi shit you pick out.”
The three of them pulled into the Mayfield/Hargrove driveway, Billy turning off the ignition before turning to Jess. “Wanna come in for a bit, need to pick up my wallet and drop the kid off to get ready for the Shit Ball.” He flicked Max’s forehead as he said the last part, earning his hand a loud swat from Max.
“The Snow Ball.”
“Whatever.” Jess once again rolled her eyes at their bickering and left the car, but before Jess could position the passenger seat to allow Max to leave comfortably, she instead climbed the middle console as she normally did in the mornings and stepped on the seat before crawling out. “Aye, watch the shoes shitbird.” Max ignored him, walking into the house first with her skateboard in hand. Jess and Billy quickly followed, Billy holding the door for them, closing it once they were all inside. Max quickly retreated to her room, Billy leading Jess to his.
Billy walked straight to his mirror, which stood next to a table that had an assortment of colognes and an ashtray. His wallet was placed next to the tray. Billy thumbed through it to make sure its contents were still there and turned to see Jess standing by his dresser, eyeing what appeared to be a photo album. “Ah shit, forgot to put that away.” He began to grab for it, but instead of putting it away as he first intended, he opened it in front of her. “I guess I did promise to show you California, huh?”
Billy flipped through the album and within seconds made it to pictures of his favorite beach. It looked exactly as Billy described last weekend. The sand looked so soft like it couldn’t possibly burn your feet even if you stepped on it on the hottest day. The ocean was crystal blue, white foam collecting at the edge where it met the shore. Jess looked at the picture at the bottom left and saw the same beach, but this time a beautiful woman was standing in the middle, smiling as bright as the sun that caused her to shield her eyes when taking the shot.
“Is that…”
“My mom,” Billy confirmed. He stared at the picture with Jess, his face still as stone.
“You look a lot like her,” Jess replied softly, afraid that the comparison would make him uncomfortable. Billy nodded his head. He knew this already. Everyone said it.
Except Neil.
“Yeah…” he whispered, his head nod accompanied by a melancholy smile. Jess turned the page slowly, allowing Billy time to stop her if he felt the need to. When the page was flipped, what she found instead of the same beach were birthday pictures, a young Billy posed in almost every one of them. She looked at the middle picture on the right page and saw Billy smiling behind a cake with five candles lit in a circle. The color of the frosting caught Jess’s attention, as it was a strange shade of purple with random blue streaks hidden in spots of the cake.
“You like purple as a kid?”
“What?”
“Your cake.” Jess watched as Billy’s eyes made his way toward the same picture, and then he began to shake his head.
“No, uh, my favorite frosting’s strawberry.” He began to run his index finger over the cake lightly before pulling away again. “But, you know, strawberry frosting’s pink. And my dad didn’t like that so much. Made my mom fix it. She was tryna turn it blue.” Billy then turned the page and directed Jess to another cake, this time it was a shade of bright red and had six candles that were not yet lit. “My dad didn’t like the purple too much either but said it was better than nothing.” He then let out a sad laugh as he kept his attention on the new cake.
“But the next year my mom changed the color. Perfected it, I guess. That’s kind of why red’s my favorite color now, got used to it every year.” However, this wasn’t entirely the case. The truth was, though he did favor red when buying certain clothing and objects for his room, he would much rather be able to say that pink was his favorite. He wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was due to the fact that he wasn’t allowed the color in his life. Maybe it was the way that he was envious Max was allowed it though she was able to choose not to like it. But he chose red, just like his mother did, and that would have to be enough.
Before Jess could figure out how to respond to this, Billy began to navigate effortlessly through the pages again, where he found more recent pictures of himself and other teenagers who looked around his age at the same beach he showed her earlier. They stayed for a moment as he pointed out certain pictures and memories before he grabbed the album and plopped it on his bed, nodding toward it, indicating she should go sit. He went to the opposite side dropping himself down as well as he moved the album closer to the pair. Billy propped his upper half with his left elbow, his lower half draped off the right side of the bed. His head would have been on her lap if he hadn’t been holding himself up, making Jess shift nervously. They continued to look at pictures of the beach before Billy changed positions, allowing his eyes to meet hers.
“So whatya think now, Logan, east coast or west coast.” Jess looked away from the pictures and down at Billy, who was already giving her a smug grin, looking up at her with a glint in his eye.
“Mmm…” Jess then shrugged her right shoulder forward, rocking the upper half back and forth, teasing her uncertainty, “I guess California isn’t too bad.”
Billy turned himself once again, facing the album, his arm now brushing against Jess’s leg as he continued to flip through the pages with his other hand. There were now pictures of carnival rides and games. Behind most of these pictures was a beach, but it was much more crowded than the beach Billy had been showing her.
“Santa Cruz beach boardwalk,” Billy said as he continued to turn the pages. Lots of pictures were taken here, many of which had what looked to be an 8 or 9-year-old Billy throughout them. There was only one of what looked to be a younger Neil, still sporting the same mustache he had now. Unlike his son, he wasn’t smiling as he barely wrapped his arm around Billy for the picture. “My mom always wanted to visit the Bay Area.”
They continued to look through the pictures, Billy attempting to only show her the pictures of things to do in the state of California and avoid pictures of his family and childhood home. It wasn’t until Billy glanced down at his wrist to look at the time when they decided to leave his room. “Better get goin’ if I’m picking the movie tonight, huh?” Billy playfully smacked Jess’s leg as he began to pull himself off the bed. He reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out his keys, jingling them in his hand as he made his way to his bedroom door. Jess left the album open on the bed as she followed him out of the room, both of them walking out the front door together.
Billy walked toward the passenger door as he began to make a habit of opening it for Jess when she was riding with him. She remembered when she used to be annoyed by the gesture, but now she realized that she rather enjoyed it, allowing him to shut the door for her when she was secured inside. When he entered the car as well, he quickly peeled out of the driveway, ensuring they were no longer driving on Cherry Lane when Neil’s vehicle pulled in.
They pulled into the parking lot for Family Video in record time, Billy wasting no time as he promptly exited the car. He began rounding the front of the Camaro but stopped when he watched Jess open her own door and exit just as quickly. Jess noticed where he was standing and looked back at the door before looking at Billy again.
“Oh. Sorry.”
“Didn’t I say I was a gentleman?”
“Eh. You’re kind of on and off with it.” Jess smiled back at him as he shook his head.
“Smart ass.”
Billy walked closely behind Jess as they entered the store, making a point to open the door for her before they did. She began to look around the store, beginning to walk toward the left. However, Billy grabbed her arm and began to steer her to the right of the store. “Wrong way, princess.” She looked in the direction of where he was leading her, and her eyes began to widen as she saw the section they were entering.
“Absolutely not!”
“Ah come on. I’ll be right there.”
“Yeah. That makes me feel soooo much better.”
“The fuck is that supposed to mean?”
He let go of her arm and began thumbing through the horror movies, looking around to try and find something more interesting than what was already in front of him. He then looked over at Jess again, still expecting an answer to her earlier statement.
“You seem like the type to try and scare me even more than the movie is going to.”
“You should learn to trust me a little more, Logan.” He then held up two tapes and faced them toward her. “How about I let you choose.” Jess was now looking at Friday the 13th and Halloween II.
“How about…” She mocked the way he spat out his last sentence “… neither.” After what happened in Hawkins, she would have thought her fear of horror movies would have subsided, that nothing could beat the fear of what she witnessed both last and this year. It was only a week before Halloween that Steve also attempted to watch Halloween II with her and Nancy, and instead of Nancy cuddling up to Steve as he intended, she was allowing Jess to hide behind her as she refused to look at the screen. Steve looked only slightly put out the rest of the movie, earning Jess the nickname “cock-block” for the rest of the week.
“Alright then, smart ass.” He put back Halloween II, the movie Jess would have picked if she really had to, considering she had already “seen” it, and held the other tape in his right hand, beginning to steer Jess to the front counter with his left.
“Are we really gonna watch that?”
“I’ll let you pick out the snacks.”
“Great...”
Billy successfully added the rented movie to his family’s account and the two of them left, Jess shuffling her feet a bit slower than usual, slightly less excited for tonight, not wanting to seem incredibly lame for her inability to watch the screen as the movie Billy picked out played.
As they left the parking lot, Billy drove passed the mini-mart everyone usually picked out snacks for a movie from Family Video, and instead began in the direction of the grocery store on the other side of town. Jess began to turn her head toward the mini-mart and began to open her mouth before Billy quickly interrupted.
“Can’t go there. The guy won’t sell to me.”
“Won’t sell to… what do you mean ‘won’t sell to you’?”
Billy just gave her a mischievous grin and turned his attention back to the road. Jess then scoffed. “You really think we’re gonna be drinking in my room with my parents in the same house?”
“Relax… it’s just for me. Unless you actually wanted some. Then whatever.” Jess just shook her head in response, failing to hide her smile as she pretended to disapprove.
They arrived at the grocery store where Billy apparently had the “hookup”, a middle-aged man who looked like he would rather be anywhere else but there. Billy quickly went after a six-pack of American Colonial and then turned to Jess. “Whatever you want, princess.”
“Whatever I want.” Jess repeated back, reassuring Billy that she will be getting just that. Considering that she would be forced to watch a movie that would cause Billy to tease her for the rest of Christmas break, she figured he owed her. She made her way to the candy isle first, grabbing a few Charleston chews bars and then a Twix bar. She handed these over to Billy, freeing up her hands as she walked over to the chips and crackers isle, grabbing a bag of Doritos and a package of room-temperature microwave popcorn. “You’re lucky I have drinks at the house,” she stated smugly and began walking toward the register Billy pointed out to her earlier.
“Is that everything…” The middle-aged man, apparently named Brian, asked with a monotone voice.
“Yup,” Billy responded, not looking back at the man until he slid his cash out of his wallet and handed it to him.
“One thirty-two is…”
“You can keep it big guy.” Billy grabbed the bag and the six-pack from the side of the register, nodding at Brian as he turned to leave.
“Yippie…” Jess heard Brian sigh as they walked away.
The ride to Cherry Lane was longer as this grocery store was not on the same side of town as their neighborhood was. When they eventually made it back home, it was beginning to get dark, which made Jess slightly anxious.
“Shit, I think dinner’s done…” Jess began as she unclicked her seat belt and reached for the door handle. The original plan, as described by Billy, was for him to drop her and the goods off, park his Camaro back at his house, and wait a few hours before climbing her roof to her window. However, she looked back at Billy with something else in mind. “Do you… wanna maybe come in? For dinner I mean. I don’t think my parents will care. You can still come back later tonight.”
Billy looked at her for a few moments, watching her nervously shift as she asked this question. It caused him to smile. If he were to tell her the truth, he would say how much he enjoyed the first time he ate dinner with her and her family, and how she would never have to ask if he wanted to do it again. All she would have to do was tell him he was welcome to.
Instead, he dropped his smile and shrugged nonchalantly, looking away from her and to her front door. “I mean, I guess.”
“You don’t have to if…” Billy was already out of the car, unwilling to have her finish that sentence.
“Let’s get to it, Logan.” Billy was at her car door again, opening it as she grabbed the plastic bag from her feet. When her door was closed, she noticed that he had taken the six-pack out of the car with him.
“You said that was for you!” She whispered harshly at him.
“It is. For tonight.” He winked at her and positioned the pack at the bottom of the bag, covering it with the rest of the snacks. “Why do you think I asked for your shit to be double-bagged?”
“Dammit, Billy.”
“Better hurry upstairs.” He winked again, nudging her with his shoulder. “Hey, don’t worry. I’ll distract them. They love me.”
He was right. For some strange reason, they had taken a major liking to him, especially since the TV incident. And to her dismay, her mother refused to stop talking about how Billy Hargrove was such a ‘nice boy’.
Yeah. Right.
Jess swiftly unlocked the front door and made her way to the stairs, movie in one hand, the now heavy plastic bag in the other.
“Hey mom, I’m just gonna-“
“Oh hi, hun. Oh and Billy! What a wonderful surprise! Dinner’s about ready if you’re hungry dear.”
Billy had obviously occupied her parents without even trying, giving Jess an ample amount of time to stash the bag before either of her parents even wondered what she had. When she made her way back downstairs Billy gave her a chum smile, accompanied by another wink as he made his way to the dining room.
“Told you,” he whispered just loud enough for Jess to hear, both Mr. and Mrs. Logan scrambling around the kitchen.
“Shut up.”
Dinner tonight was made up of skirt steak, Mrs. Logan’s famous garlic mashed potatoes as served last time Billy stayed for dinner, and an assortment of roasted vegetables. As usual, it was amazing. The silence that accompanied the occasional sound of silverware clanking against porcelain was soon interrupted by Mrs. Logan.
“Oh! Billy!” Mrs. Logan took a drink from her wine glass before continuing as she captured the rest of the table’s attention. “So my husband has been talking to your father…” she smiled at Mr. Logan, missing Billy’s cringe at the mention of his dad. “They’ve been doing a lot of that at the bank, and the topic of Christmas came up.” She was now looking back at Billy and Jess, both their expressions confused.
Mr. Logan cleared his throat, nodding as he was beginning to remember the conversation his wife was alluding to. “Right. So we normally do Christmas Eve with the Harrington’s and their boy Steve. He’s actually on the basketball team as well, I’m sure you know him.”
The same mischievous smile from the car came back as he looked over at Jess quickly before turning his attention to her father. “Oh yeah. Harrington. We’re great friends.”
“Oh good. Figured you would be.” Billy glanced over at Jess again as she cleared her throat. “Well we were thinking, since your family is new into town, you guys live practically next door, and since you, Steve, and Jess seem to be friends, I invited your family over for Christmas Eve as well. We just do dinner and-“
Mr. Logan was interrupted by Jess choking on her steak. She reached out for her water and chugged a bit, clearing her airways before looking at her dad. Billy was covering his smile with his hand, his elbow propped up on the table, attempting to look unphased.
“Sorry,” Jess coughed out. “D- do you think we’ll have enough room? I mean, we don’t have that many chairs and-“
“Oh don’t be silly, it’ll be fine. Besides, the table extends and I’m sure we’ll find some other chairs upstairs," Mrs. Logan butt in. Billy remembered the room upstairs with all the old, mismatched furniture, and wondered if any of those chairs would be in any condition to be sat on, considering most were missing legs.
“Alright,” Jess said in a small voice, pushing her food around with her fork. It wasn’t the idea of having Billy over for Christmas Eve that made her uneasy, rather, the fact that she would be having Billy over for Christmas Eve with Steve Harrington. It will be a whole evening. A whole evening of Harrington and Hargrove in the same house. At the same table. And she would be in the middle of it.
The vexatious glint in his eye was still there as he removed his hand from in front of his mouth and looked back and forth between her parents. “That sounds great. Can’t wait.” He then smiled over at Jess before bringing back his attention to his food and began to eat again. “By the way Mrs. Logan, dinner is amazing.”
Jess continued to sneak annoyed glances at Billy, who was smugly eating his dinner, apparently amused at what just happened. When everything was finished and both Billy and Jess brought the remaining dishes back to the kitchen, Billy once again spoke up.
“Thank you so much for tonight, but I should get going soon. Again, Mrs. Logan, dinner was great.”
“Well thank you for stopping by, don’t be a stranger!” Mrs. Logan called out to him.
Billy strutted his way back to Jess, who was standing at the landing of her stairs by the entryway. As he reached out for the doorknob, he looked down at Jess, towering over her until he bent down so his lips were just at her ear.
“See you tonight, gorgeous.”

Learning to Love 3
(Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4,..)
Rating: Mature Relationship: Steve /Billy Tags: enemies to lovers, Steve has migrains, Tommy being an assh*le, homophobic language Words: 1261
The next day he parks his beloved Camaro close to Steve’s car, and everyone at school stares at him, waiting to see if he will slash the other boy’s tires or something, but he gets out of the car and goes to Mrs. Johnson's class and glares at the girl sitting at Steve’s side.
“I think this is my seat.”
“It isn’t… you sit in the back…” The girl squeaks but when he leans on the her table she takes her things and quickly leaves, moving toward Billy’s old place.
“What are you doing?” Steve asks, staring suspiciously at Billy.
“We are partners now, aren’t we?”
Billy usually doesn’t take notes during classes, for him it is enough listening to the lesson and doing some exercise at home, but this time he writes down everything in his neat handwriting. When class ends, he tears off the pages and gives them to Steve.
“I’ll come tomorrow to your place, try to read my notes and make a list of the questions you might have, ok?”
Steve nods, confused, but thanks him as he takes the notes and goes to his next class.
Hagan gets closer to Billy while they walk together in the corridors “What are you doing? I thought you hated him. Are you planning a prank on him?”
Billy shakes his head, annoyed, “Mrs. Johnson asked me to tutor him and that’s what I’m going to do. I need it for my college application.”
“Since when?” Tommy insists “You have straight As in every subject, why do you need to babysit Harrington?”
“Because it will look good on my transcript, ok? Do you have a problem with that? Would you rather prefer I babysit you? Or maybe you would like to be the one babysitting Harrington?” Billy snarls and Tommy lifts his hands in surrender.
“Calm down! You are fucking crazy, you know that, right? I know Steve, we were best friends, did you forget that? But you two have nothing in common and I’m just wondering what you can talk about. Girls? Sex?”
“Math.” Billy replies, leaving Hagan staring at his back.
Why the fuck did he care what they talk about? He is just tutoring Steve, that’s all.
***
“That’s not bad. You got the first part of the exercise, you just got a little bit confused here.” Billy says, making a red circle on Steve’s exercise “You see? You forgot to multiply those two.”
Steve curses and closes the book with anger “I will never pass the final, ok? I should just give up!”
“You are doing so much better. You just need to concentrate a little more…”
“Concentrate a little more? My head is going to explode, I have a migraine that is killing me and you want me to do more? I can’t, I really can't, ok?” Steve yells, covering his eyes with one arm.
“Do you have a headache?” Billy whispers in a soft tone of voice.
“It was a headache when you got here. Now is a fucking migraine. I think I’ll just lie on the bed for a bit. You can leave if you want, I don’t think I’ll be able to do any other exercise.” Steve sighs, wobbling toward his bed.
“There is anything I can do? Do you need a cold compress? Some water?”
“A cold compress would be great. And if you could turn off the lights please.”
Billy hums, turns off the lights, and goes into the bathroom to get a wet towel and then he gently cleanses Steve’s sweaty face with it.
“You don’t have to do it. I can do it on my own.” Steve protests weakly.
Billy doesn’t reply and gives Steve the cold compress “Did you book an appointment at the eye doctor?” Billy whispers in the semi darkness.
“You know I didn’t.”
“I could book it for you,” Billy proposes. “You won’t even know when it is and you won’t get anxious about it.”
“This is stupid.” Steve sighs, still covering his eyes with an arm “I should be able to get my shit together. I’m not a kid!”
“I’m your tutor, I can tutor you through this.”
Steve chuckles, cursing because laughing makes his migraine even worse, then he finally agrees. “Book me a fucking appointment with an eye doctor.”
Billy nods, even if Steve can’t see, and goes down to the kitchen, he calls Susan, asks her for the doctor's number, and books an appointment for Steve, it feels a strange kind of warmth inside thinking that he is taking care of someone else because he wants to, because he offered to. Maybe there is still hope. Maybe Billy’s destiny is not to become like his father.
***
On the day of the doctor's appointment, Billy drives Steve and stays with him all the time. To anyone who asks why he is there, the California boy replies that he is the designated driver, and when Steve comes out with a glass prescription he drives him to the nearest shop to buy a pair of glasses. After having some fun trying some very strange pair of glasses and almost buying a pair of matching heart-shaped glasses just to piss off the owner of the shop, Steve chooses a simple model of golden rounded glasses. Afterwards, they go celebrate with burgers and milkshakes, Steve’s treat.
But the pretty boy feels too self-conscious about the glasses. He tells Billy that he looks like a dork, even if mBilly disagrees strongly. He almost tells Steve that he looks cute, but he learned in California that telling another boy that he is cute is not something you can do, so he just says that he looks like a librarian, which somehow Steve takes as an insult. In the end they agree that Steve will wear the glasses only at home when they study together.
The glasses help Steve a lot and, without an impending headache or migraine, he can concentrate more easily, and when Mrs. Johnson gives them the final test results Billy is not surprised to see a big B+ on Steve’s test.
“So it’s true. You really do work miracles, Hargrove.” Tommy says, snatching Steve’s test from his hands “How did you do it? Did you hit him with the math book until some of it got into Steve’s thick head?” Hagan laughs, but Steve doesn’t reply, he gets his test back and leaves the classroom without even looking at him.
“What the fuck, Hagan?” Billy growls, pushing him against the wall “What do you want from my fucking life? Don’t you have a girlfriend to piss off?”
“What I want to know is what are you up to, Hargrove! I mean, the boys told me but I said, ‘Hargrove? No fucking way!’ Now I’m wondering if I was wrong all along.”
Billy glares at Tommy with his cold blue eyes “What are you implying, Hagan?”
Tommy gets closer and whispers “The boys were saying that you moved to Hawkins after your father saw you fucking another boy. Or maybe it was him who was fucking you?”
“How dare you say something like that to me.” He yells, lifting Tommy by his collar.
Hagan trembles, trying to free himself “I’m sorry. That’s what the boys said! And you are always with Harrington these days so we assumed…”
“You assumed wrong.” Billy snarls, pushing Hagan so hard against the wall that his head hits the wall with a loud thump. “And the next time you want to assume something about me I will not be so generous.”

Agatha all along episode 6 Part one
Familiar by thy side
It was beautiful and honestly answered a lot more questions than I expected it to do.
Seeing Agatha from Teens perspective was hilarious.
Both Williams was handled very beautifully and Joe did a fantastic job!
The chair that resembles a toilet seat at William’s Bar Mitzvah really throws me out of it though. I’ve seen it about six times now and I just can’t with that chair. Who saw that chair and went, yes this is it?!
Billy is going through a blue drapery to get to a mostly red space about his future. I see what you did there.
Also I love the lamp
Lilia herself in gold and blue, no necklace.
Very nice blue and red colours together in Lilia’s tent.
Also notice the tower tarot card, representing Sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation and awakening.
And The wheel of fortune card, representing karma, good luck, life cycles, destiny and turning points. Notice that I’m not a that good at tarot so I may get it wrong.
Also more sun symbolism with Lilia
Upside down Billy
Lilia says the tower reverse, a big personal change and transformation coming. Make total sense
Lilia just remembering something, once again, kin implies she exists out of time, what is time for her, how does she experience it, can she affect it?
I yelled when Billy said he loved the vibe in the tent, very early Argento. I had to take a break.
Argento, the director and writer of Suspiria, the witch movie which was the inspiration for episode 4.
This is huge! This indicates that it’s actually Billy that keep the road in movie/tv-themes, not Wanda or any leftover of her spells. Which we also see mote of later in the episode.
Of course, now we have new questions.
Like does he know?! Or is he trying to cope with losses like his mom?
The sigil is interesting, (not just because it’s a beautiful nod as a W or WW) but does it hide Tommy too? Since neither Wanda or Billy can find him. Also notice how later Agatha will say there are two of you, implying the are one or two pieces of a whole.
Why does Lilia want to hide them?
Interesting that the radio air the first episode of WandaVision.
William shouting “mom, look out” as they get in the car crash. Don’t touch me!
And the dome and the dead tree by the car. Beautiful but hurts.
Red glass shards. Once again beautiful but hurts.
Bye Tommy
ALICE! Good to see you darling!
Greg knowing what’s up.
WILLIAM/BILLY’s room!
His signature blue
The movie posters and the actual wizard of oz toys in his bookshelf.
I started writing down all the movie posters but some were obvious or too hard to make out so I let it go.
Eddie being cute.
Freak like momma.
And he taking everything Billy tells him better than I would have.
Nice trans flag.
Now as he have grown up, it’s all horror movies and the occult.
We’re off to my second scream and had to take a break in this episode.
But first, their usernames? lol. They worked hard on those two.
Ralph/Randall/Pietro/Peter (in my culture we have a saying that goes, a loved child has many names.) You are doing great sweetheart!
I gotta admit I thought they were gonna let us wait for VisionQuest to see him again. I’m thrilled!
Not really a fan of the red hair they gave him but, I get it. It matches Wanda
Also, love his stealth, very stealthy.
Nope, sorry Ralphie, can’t call a a kid Bub when you willingly goes online as Bohnerrific69. There are rules. And also made me google that just to get the spelling correctly.
Notice how he talk about Wanda, ge calls it sad but he talks gently about her and the one he is actually actively angry about is Agatha.
Also notice how when Billy asks about if it changed him or if he can do stuff now, he gets very serious for a moment and ask him what he is talking about.
Billy, I need to know if that water actually hurt you.
And never, ever yell Mr. Bonherrific.
I really can’t make out what Ralphie is shaking? First. Thought it was mr Dibbles or hoped. lol
The market value? Hon, she is still in the house! Priorities here.
My sweet baby, but yeah, keeping Monica in the attic was a bit much.
RIP Sparky. It was Ralph all along.
Speedster and mind reading brother. Babies!
Wanda is dead, sure jan.
Not the blu-ray collection!!!
Another movie buff in the Maximoff family. I get emotional writing this.
Agatha can keep his Bow-Flex, thread mills. Funny, not liked he needs it.
Go to his one man show in Paramus please!
Dreadit lol
Down the road baby!

tw: death, angst, alcoholism, sad. this is just sad im sorry
“I’m sorry, son,” Neil says, his voice softer and kinder than Billy’s ever heard.
He’s numb. He can’t actually believe it. Nothing feels real. Billy can’t be sure he’s actually sitting on the couch, can’t be sure Susan’s hiding in the kitchen, can’t be sure Max is locked away in her room. Can’t fathom that he’s 2,000 miles away from home.
“Her funeral is next Saturday. We can try to make it,” Neil continues, “But if we can’t, your aunt said she would send you some of her ashes.”
Billy’s frozen. The last time he ever saw her replaying in his mind.
Rosemary stood at the door, a suitcase packed by her feet and six year old Billy was curious why she hadn’t packed him one.
“I promise,” she ran her fingers through his hair, “I’ll come get you. I have to leave now but I’ll be back in two days and you can come live with me and Auntie Diane.”
He was sobbing, angry and seething.
“No, Momma,” he blubbered, “Don’t go!”
Rosemary heaved a big sigh. It was now or never. She had to time this right or Neil would catch her leaving.
“Baby,” she cooed, squeezing Billy close to her, “I’m coming back for you. Two days. You can wait for me.”
She kissed his cheeks, five to each one when Billy notices his mom is crying too. He clings onto her shirt so tightly, she has to forcefully pull his fingers away. She squeezes his little fists in her own, eyes trained on his wet, blue ones.
“Two days, baby.”
Rosemary opens the door, runs to Auntie Diane’s car and Billy runs out after her. He’s screaming for her to stop but she doesn’t. Auntie Diane drives away with Rosemary hanging out the window, “Two days!”
Neil finds him on the lawn not ten minutes later, crying hysterically. He picks up his son, carries him inside and sets him on the couch. Neil’s like a tornado afterwards, storming to the master bedroom and between his sobs, Billy can hear drawers slamming. Then Neil’s angry voice.
“That cunt!” he growls, “That worthless fucking whore.”
Billy curls up in a ball on the living room carpet, hiccuping while he stares at a bloody stain on the floor. He remembers how it was made, his mom flinging a plate at his dad. Remembers how it sliced Neil’s hand open when he tried to dodge it. Remembers how he tried to help his mom scrub it the next day, how it wouldn’t lighten and with time, turned into a deep reddish brown. Billy scratches at his arms as he cries, furniture crashing in the master bedroom.
Two days came and went, without Rosemary returning. Summer break. Neil took the week of work to watch Billy. He kept looking out the windows, his face twisted in anger. Billy called his Auntie Diane’s number ten times a day. No answer.
It’s a week later when he finally gets an answer. He’s hiding in the kitchen cabinet. Cries to his momma. Tells her he misses her. She says she’s coming to get him soon.
She never came back. Billy never knew why. Why she couldn’t take him.
“How?” his voice is shaky, unsure of itself. Sounds far away in his ears.
“She had cancer. Liver,” Neil’s voice is gruff again. He thinks about the bottles of vodka she used to hide around the house. Billy’s chest feels like it’s splitting open. He has to get out of this house, as soon as possible.
He stands, pushes passed Neil and for the first time in eleven years, Neil lets him leave without a single question. Billy finds himself at a liquor store, his fingers shake as he grabs the plastic bottle. His eyes scan over the the red accented label. The same label he used to find in the toilet tank when he was a kid.
The quarry is the best place to drink alone. He sits on the dirt in front of his car, cracks open the bottle of Popov and lifts it to the sky.
“To you, momma,” he chokes out.
Billy swallows back the fiery liquid, understands why she loved it so much while it burns down his throat and spreads a comfortable heat in his chest.
“I hated you,” he hopes she can hear him, hopes that somehow she can watch over him. He talked to her a lot, in his head, out loud when he was alone. Now he has a weird sense of comfort, like she’s here now. “For a long time. I never understood why you couldn’t just take me with you. I would’ve rather took care of you than deal with him.”
He chokes out a sob, furiously rubbing his fists against his eyeballs.
“God,” he laughs through the tears, a maniacal laugh, “You fucking bitch! What a fucking joke.”
Another swig of the cheapest vodka known to man. Billy wants to get so drunk, so shitfaced and wrap his Camaro around a tree. Wants to be reunited with his mom. Life’s a sick fucking joke. He’s freshly eighteen. His mom should be alive, should be around. It’s not fucking fair.
“Did you ever try?” he asks, “Did you ever want me? I remember that story you used to tell me, about when I was born. About how I opened my eyes and looked up at you and you said you finally felt whole.”
Billy sobs again, “Did you feel empty when you left? Did you hate yourself for not taking me?”
The clouds move slowly as he gazes up, tries not to think about how possibly he’s just talking to himself and she can’t actually hear him. That she’s just gone and there’s nothing and that’s it. You die and you’re dead and gone, just memories. Billy suddenly clutches at his necklace, brings it to his lips and kisses it.
“I love you,” he blubbers out, “Fuck, I love you.”
“Remember when you would take me surfing?” he hiccups, “Dad made me stop. Haven’t done it since the last time you took me.”
He’s silent for a while, hot tears streaming down his cheeks. It’s all so fucking surreal. He always wondered if it’d be easier if she was dead. But he’s never felt so god damn hopeless in his life.
He lifts the bottle of Popov again, laughing again.
“Got your favorite,” he sniffles, “I get it, a little bit. Why you ran off, why you drank so much. He would’ve killed you. I think I remind him of you. I think that’s why he fucking hates me so much. A reminder of what he lost.”
Billy sighs, takes another plentiful swig and sinks down on his back.
“Wonder why he doesn’t just kill me,” he mumbles, “Maybe he thinks he can just push me to do it my fucking self.”
He’s silent again, can hear the frogs and crickets. The air is cool, brings chills to his spine but that’s something Popov can solve. He tries to take another swig lying down but chokes on it, coughs up the harsh alcohol and sits up to catch his breath. Thinks about if he gets pulled over on the way home, how he’ll reek of vodka. Like his mom used to.
“I’ve thought about it, ya know. After you left, kinda thought it every day,” he rubs his nose with his palm, smearing snot over his skin. “It’s too easy. I don’t know. Maybe I’m fucking stupid, but maybe I can do something with my life. Don’t know what I’m good at, but there’s gotta be something, right? Maybe pottery, like you did. I never tried.”
Another swig of the cheap booze, he’s feeling it. Billy’s drunk. Gets why his mom was so dependent on it. A short term solution for life long pain.
“I think he loved you,” he speaks again, “Susan is a lot like you. She’s got a really fucking annoying kid and she’s not as perfect as you, but he seemed happier. He buys her things a lot.”
He laughs, “Get this. He bought her diamond earrings for Christmas. Got Max a stereo for his room. Guess what he got me? A fucking copy of Penthouse.”
Billy snorts then, “I’m gay, mom. I think he knows it too, that’s why he got me a fucking skin mag.”
When the realization hits that he’s just to come out to his dead mom, Billy breaks out into a fit of laughter. He’s giddy. He’s never told a soul, funny that the one he’s told isn’t on this plane of existence. He slaps his knee, body curling up with the laughs.
“I’m fucking gay!” he screams out into the empty quarry, falling into his back while his giggling subsides and shifts to violent sobs.
He hears the voice before he sees the dark figure standing in front of him.
“Are you okay?”
Steve fucking Harrington. His ill fitting jeans, polo and Member’s Only jacket. Billy’s eyes meet his and then he’s a barrel of laughs again. What are the odds that as he’s coming out to his deceased mom, the boy that’s made these feelings more of a reality comes walking up. God’s a funny son of a bitch if he exists.
It’s the alcohol that fuels Billy’s next move.
Another big, belly laugh, “Am I okay? My fucking mom’s dead!”
Steve’s face falls, “Oh… god, I’m so sorry.”
Billy smiles, cheekily up at the brunette. Remembers smashing a plate over his head. Like mother like son. Billy laughs again, unscrewing the red cap from the plastic bottle.
“Never felt closer to her,” Billy insists, raising the bottle before knocking back another gulp. “The hell are you doing out here, amigo?”
Steve sighs, “Come here to clear my head. You sure you’re okay?”
Billy shoves the bottle towards Steve, “Have some! For my sweet, beautiful mother. She was a fiend for this stuff.”
The brunette sits next to him, takes the bottle and knocks back a swig. His handsome face cringes with it. He hands it back and tilts his head as he looks at Billy.
“I’m really sorry. That sucks.”
Billy giggles, “Haven’t seen her since I was six! Her funeral is next Saturday. Wonder if I should skip it. She didn’t show up when she said she would.” He sighs, looks up at the sky, “Two days, right?”
Steve is silent, lets Billy get out whatever he needs to. Pats his knee reassuringly.
“I fucking miss her, man,” Billy admits, “I… fuck!”
He grabs onto his pack of smokes, pulls one out and lights it, his fingers trembling.
“Yeah… life’s… weird like that, it has to throw everything at you at once,” Steve sighs, “See if you got what it takes.”
“I don’t think I do,” Billy admits, shoving the box of Marlboros against Steve’s chest.
Steve frowns, accepts the cigarette and hands the box back to Billy, “You seem tough enough to handle it.”
Billy breaks down, sobbing uncontrollably and ducking his head between his knees. Steve doesn’t know what to do. This guy beat him blue and bloody a couple months ago. Now he’s crying so hard Steve thinks he might puke. His arms circle around Billy before he can really think about it, clutching onto him. The blonde doesn’t return the embrace, Steve awkwardly rests his cheek on Billy’s shoulder and rubs soothing circles against his back. But after a while, Billy drops his cigarette, turns his body and shoves his face in Steve’s neck while he wraps his arms around his middle. The sobs only seem to get harder the tighter they hug.
“It’s gonna be okay,” Steve mumbles because he doesn’t know what else to say.
Billy’s getting snot and spit all over Steve’s neck but it seems like the guy really needed a hug so Steve just holds him closer.

“No.” “What? What do you mean ‘no?” Max demanded from her place in the passenger seat of Eddie’s van.
Eddie let out an incredulous, so-fucking-done-with-this laugh, void of any humor as he drove towards her home. They’d spent the entire car ride feeding him some utter bullshit story about weird paranormal shit going around Hawkins. Now, Eddie knew Hawkins was bizarre but he gave the credit for that to its rather conservative townsfolk. Not some preteen with mind powers and a gaggle of other kids trying to take on an alternate dimension and its monsters. He loved fantasy, so the moment they mentioned a Demogorgon, Eddie knew the whole thing was a lie. A Demogorgon was a monster that existed only within the confines of DND guidebooks and lore. Not in real life. “I mean whatever game of pretend you’re trying to play, I’m not playing.” He should have known better. Maybe they’d gotten mixed in all this when Billy had brought you over (thinking that alone caused his heart to ache) to his house and decided to have some fun with it.
“You don’t think it’s bizarre Chief Hopper suddenly has a new daughter after the death of his other one?”
“Sara.” El immediately leans forward from the back, frowning at Max’s lack of humanization for a sister she’d never get to know.
Max shot her an apologetic look before turning her attention back to Eddie who was sneering.
“You weren’t even around to see Hopper with his family, so no, I don’t think it’s bizarre! There’s a thing called adoption, you know. You adopted?” Eddie directed the question to El, glancing at her reflection in the rearview mirror.
She nodded.
“There you go!” Eddie sighed as he pulled up outside of the house they’d been directing him to, windshield wipers working aggressively to clear the constant stream of rainwater pelting down. “Look. I get it. It’s summer, you’re probably bored out of your fucking minds but what’s going on with Billy and—.”
God, he couldn’t even fucking say your name in the same sentence with him, it felt vile. Bad. What were you thinking? Why couldn’t he have just gotten to you sooner? He shouldn’t have canceled to make a few more bucks, if he hadn’t, you’d be with him. Not fucking Billy. Oh, god. No. He should have thought of another explicit word to use because his mind was racing with images that were making him sick to his stomach.
“It’s just adult stuff, okay?” He croaked out, throat thick with emotion. “It’s not whatever you think it is, you’ll understand when you get older.”
El opened her mouth to argue but Max hushed her, shaking her head as they once more exchanged a secretive look that Eddie could very much see since he had working eyeballs.
“No,” El whispered in return as fragments of what she’d seen in her trances rushed to the forefront of her mind, the last being an image of you, soaked in an ice bath with red teary eyes as you begged her to help you. Then you’d been pulled away, dragged under by something wicked. That hadn’t been her imagination. Despite having seen you, seemingly fine in the flesh, something was amiss. Your eyes hadn’t looked the same as they did, had lacked life almost.
El directed her stare at Eddie with pleading eyes.
“You have to believe me, she needs help. She asked me herself.”
Eddie frowned, exhausted with this whole back and forth. He’d been right freaking there and you’d asked her no such thing.
“When was this?”
“Last night. I can see things─”
Eddie groaned, yanking his door open. “Christ, I’ve had it. Out, everybody out.”
The girls scrambled out of the van and into the rain, staring up at Eddie while he pulled their bikes out from the back. “Enough! Enough with the magic powers, the lab, the visions and the monsters! This shit is not a game! If something wrong is going on with them, then I’ll find out on my own! I don’t have time for your little fables and I’m not a babysitter.”
Eddie was beyond frustrated. He’d wasted all this time with them when he could have been staking out your house to see what you were up to next. Instead, he’d foolishly trusted some 13 year olds and now he’d probably have to track you down.
He didn’t even know what the fuck he was going to do, obviously you weren’t going to talk to him now that you had your stupid ass ex-fling back and said ex-fling just wanted to rub it in his face that he’d gotten you because Eddie had been too little too fucking late, as per usual. Eddie just couldn’t let you settle for Hargrove, not after everything he’d put you through and how much you’d grown since Billy had discarded you. If you didn’t want Eddie, then that’d be fine.
It really wouldn’t, because Eddie would be a total wreck and never forgive himself for missing out on you, let alone be able to get over you, but he’d rather experience that epic heartbreak over you choosing Patrick McKinney instead of Eddie. Or literally, anyone one other than Billy.
Nevermind the strong sensation of danger that radiated out of the house while you’d been in it. Hell, Eddie had been reluctant to think it but the feeling also seemed to be coming from you as well as Billy. It was difficult for him to believe, he’d dubbed you Sunshine on impulse but it had immediately gained meaning as Eddie grew to know you. Regardless of how people tried to bring you down, tried to discourage you from what you wanted and where you wanted to be socially (he’d been one of those people at some point) you refused to settle, refused to give in and fall back into the crowd like your peers wanted you to. You were positive you’d shine one day. And one day, you did. For Eddie, at least. He’d just been too stupid to see it—no. He’d seen it. He’d just always assumed you’d be there. Now, you weren’t. There had been no sort of sunshine present in your dining room. You hadn’t been you.
“Just go home.” Eddie shooed them in the direction of the house, ready to go back to the trailer and collapse, though his brain was running a mile a minute to try and figure out what to do next.
As he’d been about to reach for his car door handle, it suddenly moved higher than his reach. And so did the door it was connected to.
Because his fucking van was hovering a couple of feet in the fucking air.
Eddie’s mouth dropped open, eyes wide and the hairs on his body raising at the sight of the impossible.
His head whipped around to see El, hand out towards his van with blood dripping from one of her nostrils as a look of concentration morphed her docile features into something fierce.
He watched, stunned as she lowered his van, letting it go once it was just a couple of inches off the ground and it bounced on its tires. Eddie couldn’t even wince at the damage his rims were definitely feeling.
He was stupefied, gaze moving from the van to the young girls over and over again while his mouth opened and closed like a fish.
What. The. Fuck.
“Believe us, now?” Max asked, smug smirk on her face at Eddie’s astoundment. He could only nod stupidly, mouth on autopilot.
“Definitely fucked up my rims, so don’t do that again.” He whispered out, still mindfucked.
Eddie let himself fall against the side of his van, back pressed up against the wet metal as he ran a hand down his face and pushed the hair sticking there way, the rain wasn’t even a bother to him anymore.
His brain was spazzing out, sizzling like bacon as it tried to make sense of what he just witnessed. It just—It couldn’t!
But it reminded him of the outlandish story they’d given him in the van. The government, the not so random deaths of Benny, Barb, the disappearance and reappearance of Will Byers and how Jonathan, Nancy and Steve’s weird little love triangle (used lightly, everyone could see Nancy and Jonathan would be ending up together) also was involved in the supernatural events. And The Monsters.
Eddie felt the blood drain from his face as he specifically recalled the one about Will Byers and how he’d been just about possessed by the Mindflayer, as the girls had dubbed it. A spy for its sinister intentions.
His stomach hurt.
“Okay, okay.” Eddie finally gave in, he still had no fucking clue what was going on and he really didn’t want to but there wasn’t anytime to waste trying to somehow argue his way into coming up with a reasonable explanation for all of this. It’s been obvious to him you weren’t in the most ideal of situations, despite giving him the cold shoulder, and he knew you were possibly in danger but know he knew El actually had real fucking powers and the stories they told him were true. You weren’t just in peril, you were in a life or death situation.
How he didn’t faint was unknown to him.
“What do we do?” The question escaped him in a rush as he started at Max and El, eyes wide with desperation. “We have to save her.” Max’s eyebrows furrowed as she stated the obvious and the desperation left Eddie just for a moment so he could glare at her. “I know that. How? Is it the Mindflayer?” “We didn’t kill it, just made sure it couldn’t come out,” El informed him, wiping the blood from her nose. “Look, I hate to put all of this on hold, but there’s not much we can do right now. We can recon tomorrow. Give me your phone number.” Eddie winced again, eyes darting around to make sure there was no one else around. God, why did this have to look so fucking bad? He yanked his car door open to dig around the floor of it for a piece of paper, shouting in victory when he’d found not only a receipt, but a really fucked up pen that still worked. He scribbled his phone number down and made sure to keep it snug in his palms to protect it from the rain as it was transferred to Max’s hold. “And don’t you dare think about leaving me out of any of your weird plans, I’ve seen those little looks you’ve been giving each other so I know you scheme. If it’s about her then I need to know. Deal?” “You’re not even offering us anything.” Max made a face as she shoved the receipt with his contact information into her pocket.
“Are most kids this annoying?” “Just go home and get some rest, Eddie. You look like hell,” she snorted out as she and El hurriedly guided the bikes up the driveway. “I mean it! You better not leave me out of the loop!” He shouted after them before quickly jumping back into his van. “Go home and rest. Yeah, right.” He mumbled, fumbling momentarily with the keys before the van was sputtering to life. He yanked his seatbelt on and floored it, ring clad fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly as he made his way back to your house. No fucking way was he going home, now. Not when the love of his fucking life was possibly possessed by some cthulhu fucker. Eddie didn’t even bother turning to music for comfort, nothing but you could offer that to him and you were currently busy, apparently. When he was just a little ways down the street, he turned his headlights off and slowed his speed. He’d do a quick driveby and then circle back to park a little ways from your house, scope it out to make sure Billy wasn’t hurting you. That feeling of dread returned when he drove by and saw your home, every single light off and seemingly vacant of life. It was your wide open front door that really worried him, though. Fuck the discreet attempt. Eddie swerved into your empty driveway and jumped out of the van, slamming the door shut as he surveyed for the car he’d failed to notice the last time he was present but Billy’s Camaro was nowhere in sight. “Sunshine?” He called out as he slowly crossed the threshold of your home, shutting the door behind him. The house didn’t seem all that scary anymore, he had a feeling neither Billy nor you were here.` When you didn’t answer him and Billy didn’t spring around the corner to attack him, he made a beeline for your room. Didn’t even bother knocking, just burst right in but like the rest of the house, your room was empty. Eddie’s shoulders sagged as he sighed, a hand wiping down his tired face, back leaning up against your bedroom door to shut it. The day and his newfound knowledge were finally catching up to him. He was exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally. And the stupid fucking weight on his chest wasn’t helping, Eddie was not a fan of melancholy or heartbreak, dealing with both the idea of the girl he loved being with someone else and being in mortal danger were not the obstacles he thought he’d have to face when he planned to confess his feelings. Selfishly, he hadn’t thought he’d face any obstacles. Definitely fucking karma. Eddie should just pull himself together to go home and wait for Max and Eleven’s (he still couldn’t believe they had nicknamed her after a fucking number, the whole time he thought it was one of those preteen phases as Eddie had once tried to make himself known as The Munster. Terrible, he’s aware) call, just like he shouldn’t deal drugs. But he does. And he wasn't going home. He’s had a feeling, now that you and Billy were aware of your parents’ plans, Billy had taken you out somewhere. It was killing him to not know if you were doing something along the lines of Max and El’s memories or if you were doing something else with Billy. Were you completely out of it? Or were you aware of what you were doing? Did you really have feelings for Billy or were you being forced to stick around him? He needed answers and having to wait ‘til morning made him want to scream. So, he did. He collapsed onto your bed, body cushioned by your soft blankets and screamed into one of your pillows. He didn’t stop until it physically hurt his lungs to continue and only then did he shift around, kicking off his sneakers as he stared up at your ceiling, another thought (one he feared to even be thinking) plaguing his conscience. Could he lose you? And he didn’t mean to Billy.
People had apparently lost their lives when this Upside Down place was involved. And now you were mixed into it, would that mean you’d lose your life, too? Eddie frantically shook his head, trying to kick the thought out of it. No. No, you did not get to die. You deserved so much more than what the world had dealt you and Eddie would move heaven and hell to make sure you got it. Whatever the fuck had a hold on you, he’d fucking rid you of it. And he was gonna tell you he loved you, too. If you didn’t love him, well then. Then, well. Yeah, he had no idea what he’d do but you’d still be alive so he could live with it. And if you did love him, then he’d spend the rest of his fucking life–your lives making sure you knew how important and loved you were. How much he loved you and wanted to make you happy. He’d do it every day. Tell you every day, if he could somehow keep from professing it multiple times a day (which he didn’t plan to). Wouldn’t be able to stop kissing you, either. GOD, how he wanted to kiss you. He’d had the urge sporadically throughout your friendship but it intensified around Christmas time last year and by the end of the school year, Eddie’s self control was hanging by a thread. He hadn’t kissed you then because he was too stupid to even think about acknowledging his feelings as well as yours. Then summer had punched him in the fucking face because all he wanted to do was kiss you stupid, hold you and just smother himself with your existence.
Only he couldn’t. You were possessed and maybe dating your ex-whatever he was, while under the influence of something non-human (his brain hurt to make sense of it). How the fuck was he supposed to un-posses you? The only scenario he could think of was that of The Exorcist and while you hadn’t seemed yourself, your neck hadn’t been moving in ways it shouldn’t so an exorcism was probably out of the question. Eddie sighed, head nestled into your pillow before he realized it was your pillow, then he was pressing his face into again, albeit much more gentle, as he inhaled your scent, the ache in his heart immediately comforted by it. On impulse, he nuzzled further into it and for a moment, he was able to pretend it was your hair and you were with him, safe and curled into his side. Where you always should have been. He cracked an eye open with a sniffle to see one of your stuffed animals staring back at him. It was the one you’d immediately dove for, to hide, when you’d first invited him over and forgot it was still displayed on your bed. He’d teased you about it for only a moment before he’d made amends by having a one sided conversation in which he befriended it. It was quickly pulled into his arms and Eddie was further comforted just knowing he was holding something you held and cared for. He hoped–full offense to the stuffed animal–he’d be taking its place in the future.
It was all too much for him, the tears slipped out before he could stop them. Eddie found himself muffling his sobs into your pillow. It was so unfair. So, so fucking undeserved. All you wanted was to be accepted, how could that fucking warrant all this bullshit? If Eddie could, he’d swap places with you in an instant. He’d do anything.
He cried so hard and so long, he eventually ended up tiring himself out. Eddie wasn’t even aware that he’d been slipping further away from consciousness, thoughts only focused on you, so much he even dreamed of you.
“You’re really not helping me out here, Sunshine,” Eddie commented with a smirk and a dry tone as he watched you get comfortable on his bed, stomach down and feet up in the air.
“You met her at one of your shows, Eddie. She knows you’re metal so literally every single piece of clothing you own is not only appropriate for your date, it also means you can’t go wrong. ‘Sides, you look great in all your clothes,” you said, rolling onto your back to peer up at him upside down.
“Now, you’re just flattering me.” But it had been the right thing to say, Eddie had already changed twice—eager to please—and just needed reassurance. You always made him feel better about being himself.
You were also making it harder and harder for him to deny his feelings.
Maybe he shouldn’t anymore.
“Sunshine,” Eddie started, voice serious to even his own ears as he closed the distance between the two of you, squatting by the edge of the bed directly in front of you. You flipped over and sat up on your knees, hands clasped together in your lap with a hopeful gleam in your eyes. “I wanted to tell you something.”
“Okay, you can tell me anything,” you quirked and Eddie felt his heart squeeze, affections for you growing as each moment passed.
He knew he could, you were always so easy to talk to. Still, something in him was scared, he didn’t want this to be another Chrissy situation. He didn’t hold anything against her, knew hurting people wasn’t in her nature but she’d still chosen Jason over him. It had stung, but he’d had you as a salve for the pain when he was finally ready to stop running from their end and stop seeking her out.
Who would he have if you got tired of him? Something about the ache he got at the mere thought of losing you told him it would hurt way more than any of his previous heartbreaks and that wasn’t something he was keen on experiencing. So, he chickened out.
“You’re my best friend, you know that?”
“Of course, I know that. You tell me all the time,” you reminded him and Eddie just leaned forward to ruffle your hair, chuckling when you fought his hand away. He stood back up and went to grab his jacket from where he’d thrown it over one of his amps. He pointedly pretended he hadn’t seen disappointment flash over your face.
He’d make it up to you later, take you to buy a new cassette or something. God, what was he thinking? He’d almost ruined it all.
“I better get going or I’ll be late,” Eddie shrugged his jacket on, watching from the corner of his eye as you quickly pulled yourself together, pushing yourself off the bed.
It was only a little awkward as you both made your way out of the trailer. You walked over to retrieve your bike from where you always left it when you came over, unchained. No one really took stuff that didn’t belong to them around here.
Except for Eddie.
“Well, I hope you have fun, Eddie. Just don’t trash her music taste if it differs from yours in the slightest like you always do and you’ll definitely get a second date.”
“What about you? Doing anything fun?”
“Oh, yeah. Babysitting some of the neighborhood kids. I think you and Lucas would get along. He’s a huge nerd, too.” You shot him a smirk over your shoulder as you walked your bike away, always too embarrassed to hobble onto it in front of him.
Eddie stood by the door of the van, the handle loosely in his grasp as he watched your retreating figure and felt the familiar feeling of longing settle into his belly.
Fuck this.
“HEY!” He called out to you, already jogging the distance as you stopped to look back, eyes wide as you noticed the sudden change in him.
“What?”
“The thing is,” Eddie started, lips pursed as he debated over what he was about to confess. It would change everything and Eddie didn’t take to change very well. It was precisely why he’d ignored your feelings and his, hoping they’d simply go away, vanish into thin air someday.
He didn’t want them to go away anymore. He wasn’t afraid of change. Because the change that would come to your relationship was the good kind. The kind that would allow him to hold your hand, kiss you, be close to you without feeling like he was pushing a boundary.
“Are you okay?”
Eddie snapped out of it, focusing on your expression again. You looked concerned, of course you were worried about him. You were one of the few people who cared for him.
He reached out, gently taking your soft hand in his, thumb stroking over your knuckles.
“The thing is . . . I love you. I love you, so much and I’ve been too chicken shit to say anything because you’re also my best fucking friend, Sunshine. I didn’t want to lose that. But if I didn’t say anything, I’d be losing the chance for more. I want everything with you, I want to be your boyfriend,” he confessed, giving your hand a squeeze as he watched you with bated breath.
You stared down at your hands for a moment.
Then you laughed.
You laughed cold and cruel and hard, before yanking your hand out of his grasp.
“You think I’d want you? After all this time?”
The pain in his chest was immediate, he could feel the blood drain from his face. Then Billy Hargrove walked around the corner of a neighboring trailer, hands in his pockets with the most smug of smirks on his stupid fucking face. The fuck was he doing here?
“Why the hell would she want you, Freakazoid? She’s my girl, always has been.” Eddie watched as he walked right up to you, slipping an arm around your shoulders as you leaned into his embrace like you were used to it, your own arms slipping around his waist. Eddie felt physically ill.
He could also feel his heart cracking, chipping and shattering into millions of pieces as he stared hopelessly at you and Billy. It got worse.
Billy leaned down, mouth devouring yours in a messy kiss that you returned with fervor and Eddie felt like he was dying, could feel the hot tears of anger, heartache, frustration and betrayal—he didn’t really have a right to feel—already running down his cheeks.
He wiped furiously at them but they just kept coming. When you and BIlly finally pulled away, it was only to laugh at him.
Then it wasn’t just you and Billy. Suddenly, he was in the cafeteria of the high school, and everyone was crowded around, laughing at him, having an absolute fit of a good time at his expense.
Eddie couldn’t breathe, wet gaze and red eyes darting around to take in all the cruel faces around him before landing on yours again, begging with them.
This time, there was no cruelty on your face. It was void of any emotion before you turned your back to him and made your way into the crowd solo, Billy was no longer present.
Eddie made a desperate attempt to follow you, trying to force and bully his way through the crowd, watching the back of your head disappear into it as he screamed your name, begging you to come back to him as the crowd got louder and rowdier. You were gone. He was left alone.
Eddie’s eyes snapped open as he gasped for breaths and jolted up, chest heaving and filled with momentary panic before he realized he’d experienced a nightmare. Or something close to it.
It wasn’t real. Thank fucking hell.
The nightmare had started off as a memory. You had been at his trailer, hanging out with him before one of his dates but he hadn’t stopped you when you left on your bike. Eddie had only watched you. Then he got in his van and went to pick up the girl he had asked out.
He fell back into soft pillows, relaxing for just a moment before he realized the pillows were too soft and fluffy to be his, as was the mattress under his body. A quick look around his surroundings reminded him he was in your bedroom.
He was also reminded of the horrifying circumstances regarding why he was in your bedroom and you weren’t.
Shit.
Reluctantly, Eddie got out of your bed, quickly gathering his things. Max would probably call soon and he had to be at the trailer to answer. He practically ran down your stairs, stopped, ran back up them to snag the stuffed animal he’d cuddled the night before. He’d need a little bit of you to keep him sane.
As he locked and closed your front door behind him, he just so happened to glance at your next door neighbor’s house, head doing a double take when he noticed their front door was also open.
Eddie did a quick glance around before he made his way over to investigate, brows furrowing when he noticed the door jam was broken.
“Hello?” He called out, pushing the door open further. The entrance was a wreck, a small table with flowers had been knocked over along with a coat rack, which had a large section of it broken off. The broken piece was only a little ways away. The home had obviously been broken into and some sort of struggle had taken place.
Eddie had a feeling both you and Billy had been involved. Just as he turned to leave, a picture had been knocked to the floor caught his eye.
Of fucking course your neighbor had to be the goddamn Mayor.
He ran back to his van in record time, quickly peeling out of the area as he weighed his options. He couldn’t call the cops, not only because he was probably still on their radar, there was no way they wouldn’t try to blame him for it. Then, he’d get locked up and saving you wouldn’t be impossible from behind bars.
Besides, they were pretty much useless. He’d have to tell Red and El.
Eddie made it into his trailer just in time to answer the phone before it could finish its first ring. He nearly broke his ankles flinging himself at it, wincing as his shoulder collided roughly with the wall.
“‘Lo?” He croaked out, mouthing ‘ow’ as he rubbed the sore spot.
“It’s me.”
Red—Max, whatever.
“What’s up?” He demanded, shoulder pain immediately forgotten.
“Your girlfriend, you know her schedule right?”
“She’s not my—yeah. Yeah, I know her schedule. Why?” It didn’t matter all that much to correct her, right?
“Does she work today?”
“No. WAIT. Yes, she’s covering for her co-worker Heather. I don’t know what shift, though,” If you bothered showing up this time, anyways. “Why?”
“Meet us at the pool then.”
“WHY?” Eddie demanded again, wincing once more when he remembered Wayne should be asleep on his bed. A quick glance into the living room confirmed his old man was still asleep. Thank god that man could sleep through the apocalypse.
“Why?” Eddie muttered into the receiver, voice much lower this time.
“We’re gonna see if she’s a spy.”
“Were you not in the same house as me, yesterday? I wouldn’t call that atmosphere pleasant.”
“I wouldn’t call any atmosphere Billy is in ‘pleasant’.”
“Alright, you got me there. But I went over again and—hello?” Eddie was met with the sound of the dial tone. He rolled his eyes and cursed under his breath as he placed the phone back on the receiver. Kids were such assholes.
He took a quick shower, probably less than five minutes, and freshened up just so he wouldn’t smell in case he ended up in close quarters with you.
When he got to the pool, he was momentarily concerned he wouldn’t be able to find them. Then he caught sight of Red and El, crouched in the parking lot in front of a nearby car. They weren’t alone.
“Oh great, you brought the rest of the little rascals,” Eddie sighed as he walked over.
“Shut up.”
“I’m Lucas.”
“Will.” Eddie had seen him on a couple of ‘Missing’ flyers, had been handed one when Jonathan was passing them around during all of his breaks and lunch.
“Mike.” He was prompted when El shoved her elbow into his rib.
“Eddie,” He introduced himself, giving them all a nod before his attention was on Red. “What are we doing here?”
“I already told you,” Max sighed, ready to elaborate once more.
“Yes, I know that. I mean why are we hiding in the parking lot?”
“Plotting,” Max stated, glancing back at where Billy lounged on the lifeguard tower. Eddie followed her stare and frowned. If Billy was on duty, then they’d most likely missed you.
You appeared on the other side of Billy, still clad in your swimsuit with a towel over your arm as you conversed.
Eddie perked up immediately and so did the sense of longing in his belly.
“What were you saying?” Lucas asked Will, referring to whatever it was they were talking about before Eddie interrupted with his arrival.
Eddie didn’t take his eyes off you, too afraid you’d disappear like you did in his dream but he was listening intently to the conversation.
“The Mind Flayer liked to hide. He only used me when he needed me.” There was that unsettling feeling again. Eddie did not like that, not one bit. “It’s like you’re a doormat. And then, when he needs you, you’re activated.”
You didn’t look like you could harm a fly, sunglasses over your face as you appeared to argue with Billy, who didn’t so much as look down at you, gesturing to a kid in the water he’d most likely called a name.
You told him Billy did that a lot and it bothered you significantly.
“Okay, so we just wait until they get activated,” Max decided.
“No,” Mike shook his head, “What if they hurt someone?”
“Or kill someone.” Lucas added.
“They already broke into the Mayor’s house,” Eddie informed them, grimly. He was trying to wrap his head around the idea of the cute lifeguard, who held his heart in the soft palms of her hands, breaking into a home and abducting someone.
“What?!”
“I went by again yesterday.” Eddie threw Max a glare as he recalled what he had attempted to tell her over the phone before she hung up on him. “And when I left this morning—don’t ask—I noticed her neighbor’s door looked kicked in. The inside was wrecked and a lovely little photo of that asshole and his wife was on the ground.”
“That’s not the Mayor’s house,” Lucas corrected him, “It’s his mistress’ house. The Mayor lives in some fancy schmancy part of town with his wife but he’s been seeing my mom’s hair stylist and that’s where she lives. I hear my mom talking about it to her friends all the time.”
“Then they got a rude interruption last night.”
“We’re not taking any more chances,” Mike declared. “We need to find out if they’re hosts to it.”
Mike, Lucas and Will ran to the boys locker rooms to check something but Eddie couldn’t be bothered to go with them, choosing to wait with Max and El so he could keep an eye on you. The boys came back within minutes and had developed a plan to capture Billy. Which just left you.
Mike had come up with the idea to lock you in the sauna with Billy but Eddie vehemently rejected the idea. He was not about to lock you anywhere with Billy, especially since he was a little more reassured of your dislike of him. While you two had been playing house the evening before, it looked like you were back to being annoyed with him today. What the hell was up with that?
Eddie noticed you walking away and stiffend. Was The Mindflayer calling you away?
“She’s leaving,” he pointed out, a desperate edge to his voice.
“Oh, shit. We can’t let her out of our sight!”
“I won’t,” Eddie stated as they crouched low to hide behind the car when you came out. He’d been expecting you to walk over to the bike racks but you made your way to the parking lot instead, hopping into the first car you saw. You dipped a little below the steering wheel before the car came to life and you drove out of the parking lot.
“Should we follow her car?”
“She doesn’t have a car,” was all Eddie stated before he bolted over to the van. Before he could peel out after you, Lucas’s face popped into view of the window and Eddie hastily lowered it in time for the preteen to shove a giant fucking walkie talkie through it.
“Use this to keep in contact and be careful!”
“Thanks, kid.”
Eddie didn’t wait any longer, speeding out of the parking lot to make sure he didn’t lose you.
His heart was racing, palms sweaty and gripping the steering wheel as he followed the car you stole. When you pulled into the grocery store, he parked further from you, just to make sure you weren’t on to him.
You got out of the car and Eddie realized you were still in your red swimsuit and white sneakers, with no bag or car keys. You glanced around you and Eddie quickly ducked down into the seat cursing as he waited a few moments before peaking over at your retreating figure. There was no telling whether you saw him or not, you were still wearing your sunglasses but if you had seen him, his presence didn’t bother you enough to stop you.
Eddie pulled out the TRC, fumbling with it until he managed to get it operating, “Eddie to Little Rascals. Come in, Little Rascals.”
There was nothing for a few moments, then static.
“Eddie?” It was Lucas.
“Yeah, it’s me. I followed her to Bradley’s Big Buy.”
“What’s she doing there?”
“Buying groceries? I don’t know! But I’m gonna find out. I’ll check in soon.” Eddie didn’t bother asking how their plan with Billy was going, they couldn’t exactly trap him in broad daylight with witnesses, nor did he even care about what happened to the mondo-douche. Not after he got you involved in this fucked up mess.
He did his best to maintain a sense of casualty when he got into the store, giving a forced smile to some lady who was staring at him for obvious reasons: his attire and general appearance. “Hey, how you doin’?”
Eddie speedwalked, checking each aisle for you. He almost feared he’d lost you, maybe you’d already left the store, until he reached the laundry detergent aisle.
There you were and for a moment, he forgot about the current situation, eyes raking over your figure with deep appreciation. Wow. Just—wow.
Then you grabbed a detergent off the shelf, uncapped it and began chugging the liquid down, effectively snapping him out of his horny thoughts.
Eddie could only stare, eyes wide and mouth open, dumbfounded.
You lowered the nearly empty jug, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand before you noticed his presence, turning your head to him.
“Hi, Eddie.” You greeted him as though nothing was wrong, like you didn’t just down an entire jug of chemicals.
“Uh, hey, Sunshine.” Was all he could force out because he didn’t know if he was interacting with you or The Mindflayer. Did it even allow you to be you? Fuck, it was confusing. Did he mention how fucked up this whole thing was?
“I’d go with the lemon scented, lavender’s pretty shit.” Then you capped the jug and put it back on the shelf before walking off. Eddie took a few moments to regain his composure, trying not to have a panic attack about what drinking that shit could do to you before he was stumbling after you but he was too late.
You weren’t in the store anymore and Eddie cursed as he made a break for the front doors, running out of them just as the car you were in—an entirely new one from the one you stole at the pool—screeched by.
FUCK.
“FUCK!” Eddie gripped the roots of his hair in frustration, paying no mind to the weird looks he was getting.
You’d gotten out of there fast, there was no way you weren’t on to him following you around now. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
He ran back to the van, yanking the door open and rooting around until he pulled up the walkie talkie.
“Preteens, we have a problem. I repeat, we have a colossal problem.”
This time it was Max who responded, “What is it, Eddie?”
“She knows.”
Eddie heard a bunch of them trying to talk as Max held down the button before she told them to be quiet, “What does she know? What happened?”
“I was following her inside and I caught—well, I mean it was out in the open but not a whole lot of people were around—anyways, I caught her drinking laundry detergent and I was so damn shocked, she had time to make it out. She must have been bolting in the parking lot because by the time I made it out behind her, she was already driving off!” Eddie rambled, still shook up by the whole ordeal.
“She was drinking detergent?”
“Messed up, right? She took off in a different car this time and I don’t know how she’s doing it unless The Mindflayer gives his little puppets a crash course on hotwiring.” But even that took a few moments, you’d gotten out of there way too quick if that was the case.
“You have to find her, Eddie!”
“I know, I know. I’m gonna search around town. Be careful on your end.” The TRC was tossed onto the passenger seat as Eddie started up the van.
He drove through the streets of Hawkins looking for any sign of you and while he didn’t find you, he found elements of your presence in the form of a few homes which looked broken into. He wasn’t entirely sure if you’d done it since Bradley’s or if they had been homes you and Billy had hit the night prior.
You made your way through the crowded mall, easily weaving between bodies as you approached the girls hanging out by the fountain. You’d since changed your lifeguard attire, He needed you to blend in for the next part of his plan.
“Well, well. Look who’s out of the house,” Beverly commented, hot pink lips pursed into an ignorant smirk. The rest of her lackeys giggled as if she said something remotely insulting.
“Thank you for stating the obvious, Beverly. I am—indeed—at the fucking mall and not my house,” you stated, face void of any amusement. Fix it, He commanded and your face broke out into a smile just as Beverley’s contorted in shock at your brazen reply.
“Anywho, girls, Billy sent me.” You waited for them to show signs of interest, He was pleased when they did; sitting up straighter, leaning forward to hear what you had to say. “He’s throwing a warehouse party tonight. Interested?”
Eddie was camped out in front of your house, sunk just low enough in the seat to see over the edge of the dashboard as he waited for you to come home. He had no luck perusing the town, so his best bet was to wait for you to come to him.
The stuffed animal was clutched to his chest again, mind entirely filled with nothing but thoughts and concern about you when you finally pulled up to your home in another car, having ditched the other.
He knew it probably wasn’t wise, but he needed to confront you, he had to find out what was going on with you.
The moment you were out of your car, Eddie was out of the van and calling out to you.
You stopped in your tracks, staring at him with a bleak expression, “Yes?”
He had no idea what to fucking say, so he went with, “Where have you been?”
“Around.”
His eyes squeezed shut for a moment, ache in his chest only growing, “Sweetheart, please. Please talk to me. What’s going on? You’re avoiding me, hanging around Billy again and not acting like yourself. Did I do something? If I did, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Eddie saw you fidget, brows furrowing as something akin to sadness appeared to pass over you.
“You didn’t do anything, Eddie,” He let you tell him. “Go away.”
You turned to walk up your driveway but Eddie was desperate, he reached forward to grasp your wrist and you whirled around, expression dark as your body tensed.
“I said. . . Go. Away.” It was hissed out between your clenched teeth with so much venom, Eddie almost backed down. Almost. The impending doom feeling returned, filling the warm night air with dread.
He clenched his jaw, preparing for you to attack him at that point but he’d take whatever you gave him. He could handle it, even if he had to wrestle you into submission.
“No.”
Just as it looked like you were about to make a move, something odd happened.
You froze, eyes looking both at him and beyond him. The skin of your wrist under Eddie’s palm began to move in a way that was not at all normal or even remotely human. He stared in horror as your veins appeared to bulge and crawl up your arm, following them up to your face where the veins around your eye sockets—not normally seen to the human eye—were very apparent, bulging and dark.
Your eyes were nearly pitch black.
With ease, you flung the arm Eddie had a hold of, sending him flying in the air before crashing onto the lawn on the other side of the street.
He gasped, trying to get the air that had escaped his lungs on impact to return to him and was still gasping when he managed to roll onto his side, eyes darting around until they caught sight of you running towards a telephone poll with an electricity distribution box on it.
Eddie watched, chest heaving as you tore the cover off, before flinging it at an alarming speed towards the telephone wires, one of the jagged ends catching along and snapping a wire from its place as its sparks rained down around you.
It was only then Eddie noticed the puddle of water, left over from last night’s storm, you stood in.
“NO!” He managed to yell, voice hoarse as he tried to warn you, gritting his teeth while he pushed his sore body up from the ground. He watched the wire dance around the street, sparks flying from the end.
He’d just managed to get to his feet, ignoring the pain in his sides as he ran towards you.
Before Eddie could reach you, the wire end dipped into the puddle and he was sure his heart stopped.
Only, you weren’t electrocuted as you should have been. You weren’t affected at all.
Eddie’s running slowed to a stop as you reached down, grabbed the thick wire and raised it to your mouth.
“No fucking way.” He whispered into the air, mouth dry.
You bit into it and Eddie swore he saw your body illuminate, literally glow from within like a finger would if held against the lens of a flashlight, before the lights of the homes around him flickered, as did the street lights. Suddenly, telephone pole glass insulators burst on every pole as far as his eyes could see and the bulbs of every street light shattered. The homes went black, leaving your street and probably the next couple of blocks swallowed in darkness.
Eddie could barely make out your figure fleeing under the cover of a total blackout, sprinting further and further away until he could no longer see you at all.
He stood in the middle of the street for quite some time before he painstakingly made his way back to the van.
The drive back to the community pool was filled with silence, his headlights the only source of light.
When Eddie pulled up to the pool it was obvious the area had been affected by the power outage but not too bad, a couple of lights flickering and the ones that weren’t were dim. The kids were all seated on the sidewalk, looking as defeated as he felt.
“We lost Billy. He’s flayed,” Max stated, sounding disheartened as Eddie sat next to her, grimacing at the shock of pain flaring through his side.
“So is she.” Saying it out loud made his eyes burn with the sting of tears, fists clenched as they rested over his knees. It was one thing to fear you were possibly under the control of that thing, he felt a whole new sense of terror knowing, without a doubt, you were.
He explained what had happened on his end, how you possessed almost superhuman strength and managed to drain a large region of the town of its electricity, which also explained how you were easily able to start all those cars you’d stolen. The kids deflated further as they realized exactly what they were up against this time around.
“What are you going to do, now?” Max asked quietly, fully expecting him to run for the hills. It’s what any sane person would do.
Max didn’t know Eddie wasn’t sane. And if it hadn’t been you in this situation, he would have run, wouldn’t have even been mixed into this whack ass situation.
But it was you and Eddie was done running from you. It was high time he ran towards you.
“I’m gonna save her. Or—y’know, die trying, I guess.”
“The girl,” you asked, grabbing the rag at your side. “Was it her?”
“Yeah. It was her. She knows now. She knows about me.” Before you could press it to the cut actively bleeding on Billy’s forehead, his hand darted out to grip your arm. “Will Munson be a problem?”
“No,” Brief flashes of warm, pretty brown kind eyes, a smirk, a wide grin, and brown curls managed to slip past His control before they were snuffed out, the ashes left to sink into the the grips of the Upside Down, along with your freewill.
Billy’s grip on your arm loosened and despite his bruising hold, there were no marks left behind on your skin. You were one in the same.
“She could have killed me,” he continued, and you felt what he feared. The failure of your plan. Of His plan.
“Yes.” Billy would be no match for the girl with superhuman abilities. Even with the gift He bestowed you, you may be no match for her. “But not us.”
You turned your head, both you and Billy taking in the sight of your growing numbers, various members of the community now a part of your legion, a part of Him. Soon, you would all join Him as one.
“Not us.”
And He watched you, from the eyes of the creature left behind in the world he’d been cast out of.
In his domain, the realm of the Upside Down, the being, the nightmare who would soon be known began his preparations.

Playtime Pt. 1 | Daycare Teacher! Billy Hargrove x Reader
Notes: This, too, has been living in my head rent-free
Warnings: Alcohol consumtion, pregnancy
Words: 2k
Your best friend and roommate Jenny called in a panic, asking you if you could pick up her 1-year old daughter, your godchild, from her daycare as she started running a fever unexpectedly. She put you down as an emergency contact at her daycare, and she was so caught-up at work that her boss wouldn't let her leave. Of course you agreed, you loved your godchild and treated her as your own. So you got into your car and drove down to said daycare. Once you arrived, you saw the photowall with the employees pictures at the entrance as a new face struck out to you. A handsome, young guy named William Hargrove. You greeted the known faces of the other attendants as you quickly made your way into her toddler room.
"Hi, I'm here to pick up Ari.", you said to the new employee, William, as you entered. "Are you her godmother?", he asked you. "I'll have to ID you because I've never been here for you to pick her up." You gave him an understanding nodd before fishing your wallet out of your bag. Once found, you showed him your ID to which he turned around and got Ari from the book corner. Her face was flushed red and her eyes were watery. "(Y/N).", she mumbled as she reached out her arms to get to you. Happily, you carried her on your arms to make her feel better. "Can I ask you a question?", you asked William in a worried tone. "Sure, any time.", he said with a smile. "I've never took care of a sick toddler, and her mum works for three more hours. What do I do now?" You were at a loss, Jenny always knew what to do. This was a first, for both you and Ari. "Well, I don't have any kids of my own so I can't really recommend anything. Other parents here use Calpol though." You nodded your head while mumbling "Calpol, okay." to help yourself remember. "And cold compresses on the legs and neck if her fever gets higher." You nodded once again. "But it's best if you try and go to the doctor with her, they can tell you much more than I can." He smiled at you as you nodded for the third time. "Thank you so much, and thank you for looking after her.", you said while smiling back at him. "It's not a big deal. Just remember that we have a 48-hour rule of being free of symptoms until she can return to daycare." You were happy that he told you, because you wouldn't have known any of that. "Thank you very much, William.", you said with a smile. "Just call me Billy."
Ari stayed home with you for the entire week as you were on a two-week holiday for your mental health. It helped you a lot, actually, as you had a hard time getting up and doing anything for yourself. So taking care of a tiny human, feeding her, putting her to bed, bathing her, it helped you with doing something good for yourself. So good that, when Jenny was home for the weekend, you decided to go out partying with two friends from high school on a Sunday night. You picked out a beautiful dress, did your makeup, styled your hair and you haven't felt this good about yourself in weeks. After months of low confidence, it shot through the roof just like that.
The club was loud and smelly. People were chatting, dancing, making out in some corner and most of all, drinking alcohol like it was water. Your friends made it their goal for the night as well and made a bee-line to the bar with you. They ordered three shots of tequila, followed by a mojito and a vodka-soda. As you felt the alcohol kicking in, you felt like dancing and made them go on the dance floor with you. You gave it your all, dancing with anyone who was willing to get close to you. And you had such a fun time, being carefree and wild for just one night until you bumped into someone you knew while looking for your next dance partner. "Billy?", you yelled over the loud music. He looked at you, trying to match your face with someone you knew, and he remembered eventually. "(Y/N)!", he said with a grin. "Nice seeing you here!" Billy was clearly intoxicated, and completely different than from who you saw at the daycare. Well, teachers have a private life so you shouldn't be too surprised. But you did end up being surprised when he put an arm around your shoulder and led you to the bar. "Let me buy you a drink, pretty thing.", he said with a flirtatious smirk. You blushed at his words, wondering how one 10-minute impression could get him to talk like that. "S-sure.", you replied, a bit flustered. Billy bought you a Rum-Cola with another shot of Tequila. Your already-buzzed brain did the math and concluded that you'd be piss-drunk in about an hour. "You know, you have to look each other in the eyes when you toast.", he said to you while taking the shot in his hands. "Why?", you asked him. "Because if you don't, you'll have bad sex for the next 7 years." His statement surprised you so much that you couldn't even look away from his eyes, so he took his opportunity to toast with a wink. Oh, so that's the road he chose?
Did you end up back at his apartment? Absolutely. Both of you got drunk as shit and slept together. But you did leave his place when you woke up at 2am and realized what you've done. One check on your Nokia 3110 showed you that you've abandoned your friends at the club with no warning; you had 7 missed calls from them and 3 missed calls from Jenny. "Shit.", you mumbled under your breath as you wriggled out of Billy's arms that were wrapped around your waist. Quickly, you got dressed, called a Taxi and drove back to your apartment. Once you entered, you saw dim light in the living room and stumbled inside, still slightly intoxicated, to find Jenny on the couch. She was trying to keep herself occupied, but you could see her nervousness because she chewed on the nail of her index finger. "Jenny.", you whispered while clumsily taking your shoes off. "Jesus Christ (Y/N)", she whispered back while getting up from the couch. "You've had me worried sick, where were you?". Oh shit. Now you'll have to tell her. "I was...uhm...at a guys house.", you stuttered, still whispering. "Seriously? What, isn't that good? When have you last done that?" She had a wide smile on her face, the initial anxiety and anger washed away in an instant. "Not really.", you whispered in an anxious tone. "It was...it was William, Ari's teacher." Jennys eyes went wide in shock. "He was at the club, and we got drunk so..." She didn't say anything for a while. "Well, you sleep it off and we'll talk about it tomorrow, yeah?" That wasn't really what you were looking fir as an answer. "I'm not angry. I'm just surprised." Now that actually calmed you, but you understood that she needed to cope with what you told her just now.The two of you went to bed, and you didn't wake up until 1pm. The apartment was empty by then, and as soon as you woke up you had to make a bee-line to the bathroom to throw up. Your guts hurt like a bitch, your throat burnined and your head was pounding. Jenny, being the sweet soul that she is, already put out ibuprofen and a glass of water on the small table you had in the bathroom. You were so lucky to have her. In hopes of relief, you took the ibuprofen and went back to bed. Your phone woke you up two hours later with Jenny calling. "What's up?", you grumbled into the speaker. "Good morning.", she said in a cheerful voice. "I have to work overtime today, can you pick up Ari?" A cold shiver ran down your spine. "With Billy there? I doubt it.", you replied in a hoarse voice. Why did your throat hurt so bad? There must have been more than just throwing up...oh. "He went partying yesterday, I doubt he'll wanna work while hungover. He wasn't in this morning, so he most likely has a day off." Jenny was right, and you knew it. "Fine, I'll be the lesbian adoptive mom.", you replied while getting out of bed. "Thank you honey, love you.", Jenny said before handing up. Slowly, you got dressed, put on sunglasses and started driving to Aris daycare. Your brain fully convinced you that Billy wouldn't be there, because who in the world would be such a jackass, so you took it easy as you walked in. Well, both you and Jenny were horribly wrong. Ari was standing behind Billy, who sat on a tiny chair, while putting bows and clips in his mullet. Both were all alone in the room, all kids being picked uo already and the other two teachers outside cleaning up. Did Billy look pleased? Not really, but he didn't look hungover either. Your goddaughter saw you as soon as you closed the door behind. "(Y/N)!", she cheered as she took you by the hand to lead you to Billy. "Pwetty.", she added with a proud smile. "Oh yes, Ari, you made Billy really pretty.", you agreed and undermined your statement with a nod. She then pointed at you with a questioning look. "You can do my hair at home, yeah?" She smiled and nodded in agreement before you picked her up and carried her back to the door. "Can you say bye bye?", you asked Ari. She waved her tiny hand at Billy with a grin on her face. "See you tomorrow, Ari.", Billy said with a wave back.
Weeks passed, you haven't picked up Ari in since the first incident. Once you told Jenny, she started asking Aris godfather to do pickups. Her baby daddy was a no-good leech, and her parents didn't support her so it was just you, Jenny and the godfather. And you thought that it was ideal, but that ideal was broken by a tiny plastic stick with two blue lines on it. "Fuck...", you mumbled. It was all you could say. Jenny was at home, taking a quick shower before wanting to pick up Ari from daycare. "What does it say?", she asked you while peaking out of the shower. "I'm pregnant...", you mumbled. It felt so real now that you've said it. "And you're sure it's Billy's?", she continued. "I haven't had sex with anyone else in the past six months.", you told her while pulling your legs into a criss-cross position. The two of you were having a deja-vu, as this was the exact same way Jenny found out she was gonna have Ari. Just with a different father. "So, I'll give him your number when I pick up Ari and we'll go from there. At least he has a stable job.", Jenny said while washing out her conditioner. "You're way too calm, Jen.", you said. "I just told you I'm pregnant, you're taking this easy." You could hear her chuckle. "Well, if he's a dick as well we'll just be a four-people household."
But Billy did call you and asked to talk with you face-to-face. While Jenny didn't tell him what exactly happened, she did tell him that it was important. Billy already had his suspicions at those words, but he didn't know how to feel about them. His mind was reeling as he drove over to your place to pick you up, and you were waiting on the sidewalk with the test in hand. He parked at the nearest parking spot and waited for you to enter. Once you sat down next to him, you silently handed him the test. "Well, fuck.", he mumbled as he looked at the two blue lines.
"Yeah, that's kinda how that happened."

“Stu!” I was so happy he was alive, when I found out what sids dad did… and I just slept through the whole thing! I hugged stu, holding on for dear life as tears made their way down my face in rivers, I almost lost my best friend. “I'm so happy your ok… hows billy” they had both just lost their girlfriends, and while i didn't want to say it straight up i wanted to know how they were dealing with it. I sniffled trying to withhold the rest of my tears. “Hes ok, he misses sid but i think he will be able to move on'' i nodded, thinking about my sister, i heard how she was found, i can't imagine what it was like to witness it, “i'm sorry about tatum” i whispered, i missed my sister so much, it's been a week and passing her room to get to mine feels like twisting a knife in my stomach. “I should be the one saying that to you.. She was your sister” he sighed, a frown etched onto his face, i wasn't used to it he was almost always smiling or joking in someway, and even though i was the one he went to with all his problems, it was still unusual to see him frown or cry, “yeah, but she was still your girlfriend, you loved her” i pushed, i wanted him to know it was ok for him to be sad, to miss her. He shook his head, “and she was your family, yes i miss her, but you don't need to be saying that to me, you're probably hurting worse” by this point we had pulled away from the hug, still holding on to each other. “How's your brother” he pulled me back into a hug, “he has to use a wheelchair for a while, but with some physical therapy there's a chance he will go back to his old walking self” he nodded. “You know.. Y-your heart stopped for a little, scared the shit outta me” tears welled up in my eyes again, i was with him in the ambulance, gale had lied saying that she was dewey's wife and took my spot with him, and well i had no car, billy had picked me up on his way to the party and there was no way he was going to be giving me a ride to the hospital, being in a ambulance himself, so i got in with stu, no one even questioned it. “How-'' I cut him off pulling away to look at him, “ gale went with dewey, apparently there a thing now, so i was with you” i gave him a soft smile. Stu was my best friend, so was billy, i was how tatum and stu met, i was how billy and sid met, and let me tell you i was so happy when sid and billy got together, they seemed so right for one another, i was not as happy about tate and my childhood crush getting together, but i had dealt with it and moved on, seeing stu sad about her made me feel like crying myself, i wish she had made it… I hate whoever did this.
“Dewey, it's been two years! We're in Ohio for the love of god! I can go to a stupid party, it's not like the killer can come back from the dead! Plus stu and billy will be there” i held up a red romper, looking in the mirror seeing how it looked, nah it doesn't match my makeup. “ and that's supposed to make me feel better? No you're not going, that's final” he snatched the shirt i was holding up, i sighed continuing my search for an outfit. “Too bad I'm an adult and you can't control me” I flicked his forehead as I walked to the bathroom to change. I pulled on a green crop top that was tied in the front, it had a long v neck and showed off my breasts nicely, it had long flowy sleeves that went past my fingertips and a pattern of mostly orange and purple flowers, blue and red mixed in in some places. I paired the shirt with a light green jean skirt and some brown mary janes, walking out of the bathroom, i sighed seeing that dewey had made himself comfortable on my bed, shoes still on. “Really dewey ew! Get out of my apartment i'm leaving” i grabbed a smell orange purse, “you are not going in that” i ignored him, checking my makeup and outfit in my full length mirror, he followed me to the door which i held open for him, “ladies first” i smirked, he rolled his eyes, “im telling mom, just wait until she hears your going to college parties” he passed me and into the hall, “wait until mom find out your doing what you promised you wouldn't! Overbearing " I closed and locked my door before making sure I had everything and dewey was fully gone.
I could hear the music from where I was parked down the street, I rolled my eyes knowing this ment dewey was most likely going to show up. “God why is it so cold, i should have grabbed stu's sweater” it was right at the door when i left, “i couldn't help but over here your whisper for help, and don't worry you will heat up once you inside” i rolled my eyes at the familiar voice, “sooo y/n.. You look good” colby got a little too close for comfort, normally i would love getting a complement, but colby basically harrasses me, he can't seem to get that im not interested, “hi colby, thanks” i sighed trying to be polite still speeding a little, i really did not want to have to seal with him right now. “Hey you meeting anyone here” I frowned, of course he also sped up, cause why not right, “yes, i am actually” finally inside, i made my way over to the kitchen for a drink, i could feel his eyes following me and i walked. “y/n!” I looked up at the familiar voice, smiling at the sight of stu, “stu!” I waved him over, a big smile spread across my face as I watched him abandon the people he was talking to making his way over to me. “Hey! You look great” giving me a gentle peck on the lips, i know it doesn't mean anything, were just friends but i couldn't help but blush, i smiled “you look very handsome, good sir” i bowed, he giggled “why thank you kind lady” he kissed my hand. He really hasn't lost that childish charm, and I love it. Stu~” some random girl walked up grabbing onto his arm, i cringed, he hooks up with girls all the time so i can't say its a surprise but i still gave him a puzzled look that he returned, so he doesn't know this girl? “Umm hi?” yep definitely doesn't know her, or doesn't remember her, the latter being the more likely one. She smiled up at him, “ So people say you're single, and I am also single and in need of a boyfriend, so what do you say, you, me?” she batted her eyelashes. “Oh well, it seems people are lying to you” he didn't let her get a word in before i was lifted up and over his shoulder, i giggled trying not to spill my drink. “Jesus stu, give a girl a warning next time” he laughed, slapping my ass and running off, here we go.
The party was going great, the one girl kept trying to bug stu but other than that, i hadn't seen colby and had spent my time dancing, smoking and making out with stu, that was until colby actually showed his ugly face. “Hey y/n.. Whos he” i growend, i don't know how he doesnt realize i have no desire for him, im sitting on stu's lap making out with him! “This is stu, my boyfriend” not true, he acts like we are dating then gets a new girlfriend the next day, i think i just remind him of tatum, i also haven't told stu about colby yet, stu's a little protective… knowing stu would go along with the lie i continued my stare down with colby “what, boyfriend?” colby basically growled, i felt stu's arms wrap around me in a protective manner, “yeah man back the fuck off” stu stuck his toung out, its a habit he picked up some time in middle school. “Ok well how bout this, i saw your boyfriend with a different girl literally yesterday” colby shot back, there was a small pang of hurt in my chest but i pushed it away coming up with a quick lie, “we started dating today” colby crossed his arms, “oh yeah, moving a little fast aren't you” this was starting to get on my nerves “we've been friends for forever” colby chuckled darkly, “whatever i'll see you monday” i really wasnt looking forward to monday. “Ok. who the fuck was that” stu chuckled, i couldnt tell him that colby was harassing me.. He would hunt him down and I really don't feel like having a best friend in prison, “some guy that came up to me before the party, i think we have a class together” i shrugged, he snorted “he thinks that he has a chance with you” i smiled.
I flopped down onto my bed. I hate this, why do I have to care about him so much? Stu, of course at the end of the night left with the girl that had been bugging him, leaving me, and i was too drunk to drive so i was stuck there while I sobered up, I cared so much and were not even together. Monday was going to suck. Not only will i have to deal with colby, but i will have to hear all about stu's girlfriend of the week.
Monday, my greatest enemy, i rolled my eyes as colby cam bounding up to me, “wow new boy toy doesn't even walk you to class, i would be so much better for you” he winked, i sighed pushing passed him, “oh come on, think i haven't heard about stu macher~ new girl every week? Dated your own sister” i froze cringing, how did he know about tatum, we tried our hardest to make sure that were not connected to that stupid movie and what had happened to us in the past, it's not some big secret, if you look us up you will find out about it at some point but you still have to do some digging “how-” he smirked cutting me off “i dug a little bit, it wasn't even confirmed that stu and tatum dated, but your reaction just gave me all the confirmation i needed” i sighed turning to face him “what do you want” i glared, “ah smart girl” he stepped closer, to close. “Just give me one chance, one date to prove to you i'm good” i sighed “fine, one date” it's just one date, hopefully he will leave me alone after it. He gave me a cocky smile before walking to his seat. “Really!?” I turned to Randy, I was happy he survived, he deserved life. I frowned, “i know, but i don't want people to know who we are, it will be to much for all of us and i don't want to be constantly bugged about how we survived a massacre” randy nodded in agreement, “yeah maybe, but this guy has been harassing you, and..and im going to tell stu” i glared, “don't.you.dare” randy rolled his eyes, and started to make his way to his seat, “oh my god! Fine how bout this, if after the date he doesn't leave me alone, i will tell stu, and i will keep you updated on the date” he turned to face me again with a mock thinking face, “fine, but you have to tell me each location you guys go, and i want to know when your on your way home and when you get home” he went to go to his seat before turning back and adding, “oh and if you don't call me when you get home i'm calling stu and dewey and looking for you” he gave me a stern look before turning back to his seat and sitting down. I rolled my eyes, it's kinda funny that he never brings Billy into all this even though he's as much my friend as Stu is.
“Wacha doing” I sighed as Stu walked into my room, maybe i shouldn't have given him a key, I'm basically naked here!! And Looking down wont do anything!! “I'm getting ready for a date” his head shot up “what?” I rolled my eyes, a small laugh still escaping, “what, thought I was going to be single forever” I booped his nose on my way to grab matching shoes. “No.. who are you going out with, if it's randy i don't approve!!” I grinned turning to face him, “it's not randy” his fake sigh of relief caused me to chuckle “you had me worried there for a second” now i was full on laughing, “but really, who are you going with?” he plopped onto my bed back first, “colby, the guy from the party” this piqued his interest, “the guy i had to pretend to be your boyfriend around?” i frowned, i wish he wasn't pretending, maybe this date will prove worth it and i will be able to move on. “Yeah, turns out we have a few classes together” he frowned, by this point i was fully dressed and looking in the mirror. “Hey guys i got the movies- what the fuck are you doing” billy looked me up and down, i rolled my eyes, then i realized. “Oh shit it's movie night!” No wonder Stu was here. “Yeah? seriously what are you doing, why are you dressed up?” i sat down starting on my makeup only confusing billy more, “i'm going on a date, i forgot it was friday” i really didn't want to miss movie night, it was my favorite time of the week. I noticed that Billy looked at Stu, with an emotion I couldn't read, he was always hard to read, only got worse after his mom left. “Who with” shit, billy knows all about colby, it's a miracle i was able to convince him not to kill him before, he's not going to be happy. “Ummm” i was stuck, “it's some dude named colby, she met him at the party the other day” stu ratted me out, yes he didn't know i didn't want billy to know, but he still ratted me out. Please Billy, don't tell him. “Don't tell me it's creepy colby” billy sighed using the name he gave colby when they first met “it is” stu stared me down from his place on my bed, i could feel it, before shrugging it off and looking through old polaroids of us, i stood up standing in the middle of them, “do i look ok?” i gave a quick spin, “you always look good” stu smiled, i blushed turning away from him to hide my grin, i could feel billy’s eye roll, i gave billy a look telling him to keep quiet before grabbing the last of my stuff, “you guys start without me, i shouldn't be gone for to long, probably will be back around the second half of the second movie” i went to leave before remembering that it was cold and i really don't want to ever wear one of colby's jackets, “billy i require your leather jacket” i held my hand out expectantly, stu giggled as billy angrily took it off and handed me the jacket, “thank you” i hugged him and stu before leaving.
I waited until I knew y/n was gone before turning to billy, “date!?” I flopped back onto her bed, having sat up to give her a hug. “Shes probably going to get the guy off her back, he fucking harasses her, she literley shit talks him daily” billy sighed while putting the first movie in, i let out a frustrated huff, why hasnt she told me shes being harassed? And Billy knew! I glared at his back. I felt my heart tug at the thought of her being with someone else tonight, “dude calm down, she's been in love with you since we were thirteen, you have nothing to worry about” i sat up, getting a little dizzy from the speed i went at, “really” a wide smile spread across my face “yeah you shit rag, she used to rant about how lucky tatum was and shit, she's whipped man” i giggled, she feels the same! “And so are you, so stop sleeping around, and making out “as friends” i rolled my eyes, “i took what i could get, you know that” i frowned. I left the room going to her kitchen to get something to eat, billy followed, “and when that started she was dating that douche conner” i had been dating tatum at the time, but i was only with her cause i felt bad rejecting my best friends twin sister, then tatum ended up part of billy's plan so i stayed with her. “Well yeah, she can't chase after you for forever, but she only dated conner to make you jealous” billy shrugged, “she was hoping it would help you confess if you did actually feel the same, she's basically given up now though” it started so good, why end it like that, i groaned.
“Colby, let me go please!” I cried out, “no! You rejected me! On our fucking date, my original plan we would be together, but you just had to be in love with some random fuck boy, who might i add dated your dead sister? News flash babe, he doesn't have feelings for you” colby shouted, i ignored the last part letting out a small “no” before slumping down in the chair i was tied to. “You will be caught, Randy, Stu and Billy are probably already looking for me, along with dewey!” I looked up at Colby, a glare settled on my face. “Maybe, maybe I will be caught, and your little boyfriends will call Dewey, maybe I will kill them, and maybe you will already be dead” colby smiled manically, i sobbed, trying to pull my hands loose from the rope holding them together.
“Yo! Whats up randy” me and billy were half way through the third movie, and were starting to get worried about y/n. “y/n said they were on their way home, said they would call when they got there.. It's been an hour and they haven't called, I'm worried "I shot up from my spot, now standing “what?” Billy winced, guess I was being loud.. “Yeah, took her to some theater downtown, I don't remember what it's called.” I looked over to Billy, who looked confused for the second time tonight, “what happened?” he asked, i ignored him to listen to Randy,"I don't know what to do!” i rolled my eyes, “did you call dewey” i asked, silence, “really?! Ok, call Dewey and stay home! Me and Billy are going to get her” pissed, that's one way to describe the emotion i'm feeling right now, how dare he! Randy hung up, I turned and started towards the door grabbing a kitchen knife on the way, “come on billy were killing this bitch, lets go” billy got up still confused, but grabbing a kitchen knife anyways, i should probably fill him in on the way to y/n.
I opened my eyes, head pounding, shit did Colby really hit me hard enough to pass out. I looked around, not seeing Colby, this is my chance! I stood in a somewhat crouched position moving as fast as I could to the table to my left, my legs hurt already but I couldn't give up. I sat down, looking around the table for something helpful, nothing, I looked over to the table on the right. Cobly stood a small smirk on his lips, arms crossed, “and where do you think you're going sweetheart?” i started to cry, even if there was something on the table, how long had he been standing there and how had i not noticed, the door wasn't necessarily quiet. “Colby, please let me go, i won't tell anyone just please! Let me leave "I whispered the last part, slowly starting to give up. Was stu worried, was billy or randy, i couldn't think straight, i was going to die and it was all my own fault. My eyes followed as he moved to the table on the right, grabbing something before calmly walking to where I now sat, I looked down to his hand, a knife. “Now why would i let you go, you have a cop around you almost constantly, and this way you cant reject me, can't leave me for some, some man whore” he growled, i was fucked.
Finally Colby walked away, knife stained red from my own blood. My vision was starting to fade in and out, I knew that I had to stay awake, stay conscious, but as time passed the harder it got. The last thing i heard before my vision faded was a loud bang and “hey stay away from her you ugly piece of trash”
“I don't understand! Why won't she wake up "I was frantic, i knew y/n wasn't dead, but it sure did feel like it, and the longer it took to get to paramedics the closer she got to death. “Stu for the last time i don't know either, the paramedics will know” dewey sighed, i knew he was stressed, but i couldn't help it! This is my soulmate here. “Stu, what you did.. It was stupid, you almost killed the guy” he sighed, handing y/n over to the paramedics, i glared at him “what! No, he hurt her. Don't you want him gone! What's the difference between me doing it instead of the death penalty” he glared at me before raising his own voice, “the difference is you don't go to jail on manslaughter charges, the difference is y/n doesn't lose her god damn best friend” he took a breath before continuing quieter, “we don't even know if he's getting the death penalty” i rolled my eyes, he better. “Well he deserves it. You saw- you saw y/n, it was bad” i looked at the sky, i was not going to cry in front of dewey. Dewey sighed patting my shoulder, people who did worse than him only have a life sentence, im sure he will get a life sentence with parole- he has only killed to people, thankfully y/n was not one of them, he's not even a serial killer” i looked to my feet, “he would have become one no doubt” i had quieted down, “your right, but he didn't, we stopped him, you saved my sister, thank you” and with that dewey walked away.
I opened my eyes, again, headache forming from the amount of white, shit am i dead? I went to rub my eyes, hoping to get rid of the fogginess but my hand was being held down, I looked to my right, there sat stu eyes wide and a huge smile forming. I smiled. “Finally you're awake, you definitely didn't sleep through it this time” even while joking i could see the sadness and worry in his eyes. i wondered how stu making a joke about my torture and almost death, and still brighten my mood. “How long have I been out” a frown I hate seeing when on stu formed, “a week, it could have been worse, the doctor told me she expected you to be out for at least a month, i was worried you would never wake up” his voice cracked, breaking my heart. I went to sit up, wanting to hug him, but Stu quickly pushed me back down, “no you stay down, oh shit i'm supposed to call the nurse!” I giggled, leaving it to stu to forget something like that, stu pressed a little button on the side of my bed before sitting back down in an uncomfortable looking chair. “What happened to colby” i wondered how he was stopped, i mean he was fully prepared to kill me, “umm, well randy called me and billy and told us where you were, so we went there and i came to you rescue, dewey pulled me off before i could actually kill him, so he's in the icu” i hummed not even surprised he did something like that, “why didn't you tell me you were being harassed” i smiled, “i know you, didn't want you to get in trouble for hurting him” i shrugged “but billy knew, and he's just as protective!” i rolled my eyes, “no he's not stu, yes i had to convince him not beat the shit out of colby, but there would be no talking you out of it” i sighed wanting to change the subject, “fine, but when we get out of this shit hole your getting ice cream” i knew that was his way of saying he was wrong and he will get me ice cream because of it, so i gave him a soft smile and a nod. Stu cheered, I rolled my eyes still laughing at his stupidity.
Stu kept to his word, taking me for ice cream right after i got out of the hospidle, i was supposed to eat mostly soft food anyways. “Stu, how can you eat that!” i fake gagged, Stu smiled, licking his gross ass ice cream in response. “You know the other day *lick* Billy told me something really interesting" I froze, god damn it Billy, what did you tell stu. “Said your whipped for me” stu smiled, i was to busy mentally cursing billy out to notice, i used my ice cream to hide the blush on my cheeks, “ i don't know what youre talking about” i frowned, “well that's too bad, i was just about to tell you how whipped i am for you” he faked a sad face before licking his ice cream again, “well you should tell me anyways” this was awkward for me, then colby’s words rang threw my head “News flash babe, he doesn't have feelings for you” i held back tears, why would stu have to play with my feelings like this, and why did billy have to tell him. “Well dear y/n, I have been in love with you since we first met, and that plan you had, to make me jealous.. It fucking worked- hated conners guts, hated that he got what i wanted so desperately, you” he smiled, blush settling on his cheeks. I was shocked. He continued, “but i didn't have the guts to ask you out, or break it off with tatum, so i kinda just gave up… then we started kissing “as friends” and i took what i could get, still not having the guts to ask you out” stu grabbed my hands “y/n, will you go on a date with me? I want to do this right, I want to finally be able to call you mine” he looked nervous, it's cute, i smiled squeezing his hands, in your ugly face colby, “yes stu! I would love to go on a date with you” we both smiled wider than ever, i swear stu’s smile could light up the entire city “do i have to wait until after the date to kiss you though” he whined, i giggled “yes” stu gave me a fake frown, dramatically pretending to cry, “damn it” i really love this man.
a/n- i hope you enjoy this fic, its my first tumblr fic, all my other ones are on wattpad cause i never had the confidence to move to ao3 or here! But I love Stu and he gets more love here, so I'm going to post here from now on. On a very different note, i have a question for all of you, do you want me to keep describing clothes or should i use pictures, i know that pictures are kind of a wattpad thing, but i'm not the best at describing cloths, like here's a picture of the party outfit i was describing i did change the shorts to a jean skirt but other then that how close to the shirt were you? Also requests are open so if you want to request something from me i'll do it! Just message me. I might put up a poll soon, for the whole clothes thing but I'm not sure, anyways have a good day/night!
