A LITTLE PICK-ME-UP

a/n; it's final exams season and i'm suffering! which probably means a few of you are too, so hopefully this gives you a little push to make it through the rest of the month! i wrote this instead of finishing my essay :')

► Studying in the Devildom was difficult. Whether or not you were a good student back in the human realm didn't matter much here, especially when all of the material was completely new. Thankfully, you had a group full of supportive friends to help you make it through the ordeal.

Lucifer makes it a point that no one in the House of Lamentation is to bother you during your study time—especially Mammon—and that there would be severe punishment for anyone who decided to break those rules. Despite being a stickler for your grades, Lucifer is always the one who comes to check up on you the most to remind you not to overwork yourself, that dinner is ready and you should come down to eat. He brings you snacks periodically to make sure you're feeling energized and not burning yourself out from excessive studying, and is also the person to give you the most praise when all of it is over.

The first person to barge into your room the next day after you've finished a long study session is Mammon. He doesn't take 'no' for an answer and threatens to drag you out of the house himself if need be (you both know he wouldn't). He's not very good at studying, and Lucifer has forbidden him specifically from visiting your room for most of the day anyways, so the best he could do was make sure you weren't stressing even the day after. Are you ready for a date night? Too bad, get dressed, he's taking you to all your favorite places to make sure you forget about your (his) impending doom.

Exams are right around the corner and you know what that means? It's the perfect time to slack off and play video games! Levi is terrible for encouragement if you need someone to convince you to study. What you need is to stop worrying, and he's much, much better at helping you with that. Come to his room after you've finished your study session for the day, he's got your favorite games booted up and ready to play. If you don't have any energy after working for so long that's okay too, you can just watch your favorite anime series together! He'll make sure to pick out a comedy so you can laugh the stress away.

Satan is the only one who actively helps you study for your finals. He's a bit strict, but the way he teaches you all the spell incantations and potion ingredients is so easy to memorize that you feel like time has gone by in a flash. An amazing teacher, praises you every time you get something right, encourages you to try again when you get something wrong, and has a bunch of cheat-tips to make the harder to remember formulas feel as easy as 1+1. If you point out how incredible he is at tutoring you he gets extremely happy. He's happy to not only help you with your studies, but most of all just get to spend more time with you.

Your biggest hypeman throughout all of this is Asmo who visits you at the end of every night to give you a thorough relaxation time. He's another person who had "accidentally" skipped out on all of the study time and doesn't care too much about his grades as the others do, so he's making sure that he looks his best by the time finals roll around. That goes double for you! As soon as the clock hits time for your study time to be over, he's already knocking on your door to drag you to his room. A hot bath, a long face care routine along with some comfy PJ's and you're feeling like that creak in your neck never existed in the first place.

Beel is just as kind as Lucifer when it comes to making sure you're not overworking yourself. He knows how you can lose track of time whenever you're really focused on something, and makes sure to sned you texts every once in a while asking if you're holding up okay. Even if you don't reply back with how much work you have to get done, as long as he sees that his message has been 'read' that's enough for him to know he took your mind off studying for a while. Does his best to make your favorite foods, and asks Lucifer to bring it to you during his check-ups along with a little note telling you how you're doing great and to not stay up too late. You can't take the finals if you get sick!

Belphie claims that he'll help you with studying whenever Satan is occupied, but he's just looking for an excuse to spend time with you. He doesn't help much throughout the studying process, he hasn't even brought his books or pencils or well, anything. For the most part, he's resting his head on your table and looking over your work, pointing out points where you've made a mistake or giving you tips on an easier way to solve a problem. If there's anyone who can successfully make you take breaks during your moments of intense focus, it's Belphie. As in he literally shuts your textbook closed and drags you to lay down in bed with him. There have beena few moments where its caused you to doze off, but... at least you're feeling refreshed and raring to go again afterwards!

headcanon : stray kids as little acts of love !

chan — making a playlist exclusively for someone.

there have been way too many times to count that you get a notification on your phone or laptop showing “you’ve received (1) message from chrispy <3” at 2 in the morning, only for you to find that he’s send you a link to a playlist yet again. the title a little cheesy and the description even more it, but it makes you smile and as you scroll through the songs and listen to each one of it, taking your time, you remember again how chan knows your taste in music so well and always makes you the best playlists; full of songs that reminded you of him and he knows you’ll enjoy. you save it before clicking off the app to type him a text saying thank you and maybe a little “love u” followed by it too. you decide <3

minho — cooking someone their favorite meal.

it might not look like it because he’s so chill and “uninterested” most of the time, but he pays attention to you. he takes note of that one thing you order everytime you go to the restaurant, the drink you get almost each time you stop by starbucks and when he has the time or when he feels you need it, he’ll make you the exact food that you like and surprise you with it. and though, even then, he tries to cover it up with something along the lines of “the recipe looked cool so i gave it a try. you can have some, i guess, i cooked too much.”, you know he did it for you. that’s enough to make your day better.

changbin — accompanying someone to wherever they wanna go.

bin is your go-to person when you find a new place you want to visit and want someone to come with you, give you some company. sure, he might complain about things and annoy you (in a very loving way) often, but he never says no to whatever you wish to do there and just smiles and giggles at you when you do stupid or embarrassing shit. he’s down to take as many pics as you want to and wouldn’t mind staying for as long as you like.

hyunjin — taking pictures and videos of someone and cherishing them.

he’s the best photographer and cameraman you could ever ask for and he’s taking pictures and videos of you more than half of the time, and he saves it in a folder he made especially for you, labeled “y/n ♡”, full of all the pics and vids he’s taken and has of you so far. they say you take pictures of the people and things you cherish and wish to never loose, because they tend to last for a very long time, and i think that explains why he’s flashing a camera at you ever so often better than i ever will.

jisung — teaching someone a thing they wish to learn.

sung is always down to teach you whatever you want to learn from him, whether that be producing music, writing lyrics, playing the guitar, singing, dancing, rapping etc. just hit him up and ask for it and he’ll be giving you what you want. he’s so patient and understanding with you, laughing it off when you slip and make a mistake, saying it happens. that he was clumsy at the beginning stages too and all, and he gives you such a big smile and hypes you up with praises when you get the things right and start improving as you go. he’s the best hypeman one could have and you agree with it more than anyone.

felix — buying them gifts when it’s not a special day.

he surprises and catches you off guard by randomly gifting you something, even when it’s not your birthday or any other special occasion and you didn’t ask for it. you tell him to stop wasting money on you but he always replies with either a “you know, honey, a thank you would’ve been just fine—” or “am i spending money? yes. am i wasting it? absolutely not. just take it and go!”. but it’s just his love language, he loves you and buying you stuff, what can you do about it?

seungmin — singing for someone when they ask.

so you have this... technique of getting him to sing for you, see; you ask him what his favorite song at the moment is out of the blue sometimes, and when he tells you it, you hit him with a “oh yeah? can you sing it for me then?” and even though he gives you a look everytime you pull that on him, he still does what you ask. he sings, beautifully at that, and you’re left in complete awe every single time. when you compliment him after, he just grins and moves on, continuing whatever you were doing before but he’s gonna be thinking about it and back to that moment for the rest of the day, don’t be fooled by his calmness.

jeongin — ruffling someone’s hair affectionately.

he gets a little awkward with giving and receiving affection at moments, so he sticks to the subtle and less intimate ways of showing it; booping your nose, pinching or poking your cheeks, squishing them sometimes, and especially... messing up your hair. when he spots you near, he comes up to you and gives your head a little ruffle, only throwing you a “hi y/n” after. it might’ve been a bit irritating to you at first because... he’s messing up your poor effort on your hair :(<\3 but soon, you grew to love it and now you smile everytime he does it. as you should.

just because he’s simping for you doesn’t mean he’ll treat you any differently. bakugou will be bakugou, and you eventually learn how to adapt to that.

but even so, his simp habits slip out sometimes.

he definitely meant that as an insult, but his input on detail makes it very useful in things like relationships

sometimes when he’s doing his close combat training, and he notices that he’s getting too close to you

kirishima prefers to not stand near you when his hair is all spiky. like he’s never conscious about it, until he’s around you

- Has already heard about plenty of inventions that humans came up with, technology included. However he’s no expert (I mean, mans was s c h l e e p i n g for a fuck ton of years until recently) and he’s going to eagerly ask away all sorts of questions in regards to your work. Kars finds it absolutely fascinating how creative humans are, especially when it comes to art. Just...the mere fact that you hold so much power in your hand and create with such ferocity is enough to make Kars all the more enamored with you.

- Could literally watch you draw, color and put everything together all day long, not even joking. He may be the big bad ultimate lifeform but when it comes to you Kars just can’t help it, the man turning into an equally as big softie as his eyes constantly flick from your concentrated face then to your hand and ultimately the screen that’s displaying your meticulous work. Truth be told most of the time he has absolutely 0 fucking idea about how animation works (you already explained to him the basics and yet he still can’t grasp the idea of l a y e r s) but that doesn’t mean he won’t shower you in compliments and praise your creations.

- And we don’t talk about that one time when you decided to make a cute little animation of him. Kars literally watched it ON LOOP all day long and since then has kept it saved somewhere purely because he was utterly touched by the details you put into it, specifically just how attentive you were when you animated his silky, flowing mane that you adored so much. All in all, my man is absolutely smitten whenever he watches you work and he can and WILL cheer you on even if animation (or technology for that matter) ain’t his domain. Has tried once to animate you but it ended up like those cringe fail stickman 2 frame masterpieces made by kids using free animating phone apps. You still loved it tho.

Santana:

- Literally THE MOST clueless when it comes to technology and devices and the first time he sees you majestically whipping out your tablet and all the fucking monitors he’s like ??????? My man’s jaw literally d r o p s as his eyes scan over all the technology surrounding him as he asks you what the fuck experiments are you going to conduct using all those screens. You, of course, laugh your ass off at his confusion as you begin lightly teasing him for being such a “boomer” to which he gets EVEN more visibly dazed.

- Eventually grasps the idea of technology and animation in general (even though he still doesn’t really FULLY understand how it all works) and settles for quietly watching you work on your projects. He’s eerily quiet in general so you won’t even notice him behind you until you take a small break and spin around in your chair, nearly choking on your water when you see that Santana was right fucking there the entire time watching you with an almost childish expression of curiosity. You ask him for how long he’s been looking and he just s h r u g s.

- Isn’t the most verbal but you can clearly see that he’s proud of your “little human thing” and thinks that you’re fucking talented as s h i t. His main way of encouraging you is by doing small things such as rubbing your back when he notices you tensely working on your projects, bringing you snacks and drinks as well as reminding you to take small breaks from time to time since he knows how consuming working on big stuff can be. Can and WILL brag to the other pillarmen (and people in general) about what you do even if he doesn’t find the right words to express himself since his main way of telling others about you is by saying shit like “so my s/o makes these tiny detailed moving images and it’s awesome-”

Esidisi:

- NO. 1 FUCKING HYPEMAN BRUH!!! He has no fucking idea how animation works but omg is he going to be loudly and openly encouraging the SHIT out of you on a daily basis. Like the first time he walked in on you eagerly working on your projects my man audibly g a s p e d (which made you almost drop your pen as you severely fucked up a line) as he proceeded to ask you dozens of questions at the speed of a fucking machine gun, the being going on and on about how “lit” all that you did looks and how he wants to keep on watching you do it if that’s ok.

- Sure Esidisi may not be enlightened on the subject of technology but G o d does he find it absolutely fascinating and jaw dropping that you put your blood, sweat and tears into such an intriguing branch of art. Like whenever he’d be leaning his chin on your desk as he’d be watching you work he’s going to have this stupid lovestruck smirk on his face because THAT’S just how amazing he thinks your creations are. The only “downside” to this however is that, as much of a supportive bf as he is, Esidisi is lowkey clingy and he will be trying to distract you and get you to take a break for time to time, the man becoming a whiny mess as he’d embrace you from behind whilst begging you to pay attention to him and take a rest. Then again, it IS beneficial that he reminds you to put your pen down for a while so???

- Brags to everyone about what a talented upcoming artist you are to the point where you’re going to be severely blushing because Esidisi is HELLA touchy and he can and will crush you into a bear hug as he’d ramble to people about how you’re “going to be bigger than Picasso real soon”. Even if his v e r y open displays of love and affection can be quite overwhelming sometimes, he means well and never fails to show you just how much he cares about you and how talented and amazing he thinks you are. In fact, he’s your “reviewer/art critic” because you always put him to rate your creations and you know shit’s g o o d whenever he bursts into tears whilst saying that it evokes intense feelings and vibes. Honestly mans got an eye of art so you 100% trust him.

Wamuu:

- The most fascinated with this entire thing after king Kars. Akin to the ultimate lifeform, Wammu can’t get enough of art and could spend his entire immortal life studying and observing humans and their tendency to create (as well as destroy.) He may not be too talented with technology but he’d be VERY impressed by your work nonetheless and would even ask you to teach him how to at least digitally draw at some point.

- Documents himself on various artstyles, techniques and even fucking drawing/animating softwares then tries impressing you with his vast knowledge which visibly makes you let out a chuckle because he’s t h a t determined to help you out. And when you tell him that art is subjective and that you ain’t trynna animate Renaissance statues or some shit like that he’s visibly blushing and stumbling over his words, a drastic contrast to his usual cool and collected image. Wamuu would feel lowkey embarassed but you’d thank him for being supportive and invested nonetheless, of course.

- Sometimes it would feel as if he’s your pupil (ironically enough) because of how damn eager and patient he is when it comes to learning shit about animating. He just wants to be as supportive as ever and to have at least somewhat of a knowledge of the domain because he values your work alot and wants to be e n l i g h t e n e d. He once stayed up all night trying to draw you but, just like in Kars’ case, poor Wamuu merely ended up drawing a stick figure that had your exact hair, eyes and clothes but you were STILL impressed by the huge amounts of attention he’s put into those. Sure he might have royally fucked up the overall human shape but at least he’s got a talent for small details and features. The only downside is that he broke like 2 of your pens because of the sheer amount of force he has, but you could never stay mad at him.

he also loves watching you work, like once he was studying and you were working on a pair of shoes and he just couldn't draw omg see what I did there his eyes away from you

you just looked so concentrated and adorable to him, like every move of your hand was calculated

fully blushed and realised he was in love with you ahem but anYWAY-

he'd slip you into as many conversations as possible when he's with the team

you woke up with a headache

it wasn’t intolerable but it was definitely bothering you 

you looked at the messiness of your room again

bottles of soju were scattered along with music sheets 

there were clothes and takeout boxes everywhere

you popped a tylenol and heated up some soup 

you took that time to tidy up around the house

any distraction was good distraction; you wanted to believe yesterday was a dream 

the moment you checked your phone, you remembered everything and you were sad again

even though it was such a beautiful day out 

after finishing your soup, your laundry machine chimed 

you looked outside again and thought it was better to air-dry your clothes to prevent from using so much electricity 

you’d hum as you were hanging your laundry up

right under your balcony, Yunho woke up to the sound of you humming

he must live under an angel he thought as he stretches from his cushioned lounge chair

he probably fell asleep to your guitar playing last night

in addition to studying hard, he had to work part time to help his parents with the debt collectors 

by the time he was able to go to college was when his family paid off all debts but decided to stay in Japan

he separated ways with his parents and started his college life in Korea; hoping to find you 

and here you were.. living in the apartment room right above from his 

Yunho slapped his cheeks to give himself some sort of courage to go talk to you; bringing evidence so you would believe him

he hopes that somewhere deep down inside of you; you missed him enough to forgive him  

he knocks on your door. but you don’t open it 

“what do you want...” he could hear your muffled voice from the other side of the door

“will you listen to what I have to say?” you could feel the sincerity in his voice so you cracked the door for him

he’s grown so much, you barely recognized him 

Yunho took a deep breathe before telling you why he disappeared

he showed you old letters from the debt collectors, his passport, and the burnt letters he managed to save

you could hear him get choked up at the end of his speech, “it was really hard growing up without you....”

you started to repetitively thump his chest, “stupid, idiot, jerk” 

you continued to call him names as you felt tears coming 

you remembered how after he left, you thought he left because he didn’t want to be around you anymore 

you were even more isolated than you were before

before it was always Yunho and you; partners in crime 

and then, POOF, he vanished

but around that time was when you turned to music knowing how much he loved music and loved to dance

you weren’t coordinated enough to dance like him but you loved to sing and you were not too shabby at it 

Yunho was always your hypeman; you’d only sing to him and your parents 

but when he left, you barely sang outside the comforts of your own room 

Yunho pulls you into a hug, “I missed you and your singing..”

he kisses the top of your head when he hears you sniffle 

he used to always kiss the top of your head when you were crying

as kids, it was cute 

but now you didn’t know how to feel 

both of you had grown up

you nodded but then you shook your head
