Prayer request for C., a high schooler who tore his MCL recently during volleyball practice. He was SO sad, not being able to play the last home game. He's been going around in crutches for weeks. And he JUST wrecked his knee again today, which was a day he finally got to go around without crutches. And provincials are next week 😭😭😭

Obey The Laws of wealth

Dear High Performer,

Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

‘What’s your fondest memory about the holidays growing up?’

Rahila asked the other day.

‘How short they were.’

As a kid one thing that always struck me about the Christmas and New Year holidays was how short they were.

It’s like you’re living your life for these three days in the year and then poof, just like that,

They’re over before you can even say the words ‘happy’ or ‘merry.’

I bet you can relate too.

It just feels so unfair.

These three days that you dream about because…

They are going to be three days you finally get to be free.

Free from the obligations of schoolwork.

Free to sleep in and stay up late to watch as much TV or play as much video games as you like.

Free to eat anything and everything.

Free to laze around and have no care in the world.

Freedom, oh how sweet the sound.

Freedom, isn’t that what we all want?

To be free.

To be unencumbered.

To be unhindered.

Freedom to know what we want with clarity,

To pursue it with certainty,

And to achieve it confidently.

Maturity is realizing that for this to happen, we need to understand the concept of freedom.

Freedom is not a life without laws.

Freedom is not to escape.

What many people define as freedom is escape.

Maturity is realizing that the more you try to escape, the more you get trapped and entangled.

Laws are good for us.

Law brings order.

We can’t escape or run away from laws.

There’s no country you get to that doesn’t have laws and rules in place as the standard of behavior.

This simply tells us that freedom is the willing submission to laws – the right kind.

The kind of laws that empower us to have dominion on the earth.

There are two kinds of laws at work in the world –

Laws that make people slaves to things.

And the laws that make people have dominion over things.

At the end of the day, we all must make a choice.

And if you refuse to choose, the choice is automatically made for you.

There is no middle ground.

It is either we consciously submit to the laws that lead to freedom,

Or we unconsciously submit to the laws that turn us into slaves.

There are laws we must obey to enjoy greater wealth and abundance in our lives, and they are:

Law of Diligence

Law of Difference

Law of Day one

Law of Daily

Law of Delay

Law of Diligence

The diligent find freedom in their work*.

Diligence and hard work are two different things.

While one is concerned with aptitude, the other is about attitude.

One is focused on the what; the other is about the why.

One is external –based, the other is internal-focused.

One is about eye-service, the other is about heart-service.

One is focused on being a man-pleaser, the other is focused on being a servant of Christ.

There are many hardworking people who aren’t free.

Best case, they endure what they do, but most times they look for every opportune moment like the holidays to escape.

Contrast this to the diligent who enjoy their work.

They enjoy their work because they’ve made the decision to bring joy and passion to what they do.

Characteristics of diligent people:

Diligence is speedy attention to a given task.

The diligent see things others do not notice.

They hear things in a conversation that others overlook.

Some problems are more noticeable to you than others,

Take note of them.

They are a clue to the solutions you carry inside you.

Diligence is the ability to anticipate what is needed before a request is made.

Diligent people are creative and discover new ways to solve problems.

They review and constantly evaluate the results of their efforts.

They are open to correction and receive with gratitude rather than resentment.

Diligent people keep their word. They keep the promises they make to themselves and to others.

Diligence is the key to excellence and makes you the topic of conversation among others.

To rule in your finances, you are either going to have to bring diligence to what you do,

Or find the work you can truly be diligent in.

Law of Difference

Develop confidence in your difference.

You don’t have to follow the worn path established by others;

You can create your own.

The premier league for example decided they wouldn’t follow the regular calendar, so they created theirs.

So, while the rest of the world is saying, ‘it’s New Year’s Day, let’s stay at home and just cuddle up in bed… ‘

The premier league guys can’t relate because January 1st is match day as far as they are concerned.

Now, is there anything wrong with staying home and cuddling up in bed on New Year’s Day?

No.

You know the motives for the things you do.

Why do you do what you do?

And why do you do it that way?

Is it because that’s the way it has always been done?

You can choose to be different and to do things differently.

‘Clean living and justice with our neighbors mean far to God than religious performance**,’ is the way wise Solomon put it.

Jesus made his mark on the world because he did not do religion.

He did not try to fit in.

You will hear him make statements like;

‘You’ve heard it said…

But now I say to you…

This year don’t go with the crowd.

Don’t just follow popular opinion.

Chart your own path.

Dare to do things differently from the way you are used to doing them

Or the way they’ve always been done.

You can dare to be different.

You can dare to be the one who sets a new standard.

Law of Day One

One day or Day One? You decide.

I actually learnt this law from my mentor, Steve Harris, before I heard The Rock talk about it.

Some years ago, he shared his story of how he strategically positioned himself to make money on the 1st day of the year,

While other coaches and consultants were waiting for the year to begin in earnest.

This made a huge impression on me.

The law of day one is a lesson he also learnt this from his mentor, popular comedian, Ali Baba.

While other people are busy re-calibrating, resting, or perhaps over-indulging,

They are already getting their work done and smiling to the bank.

Another company that inspired this law so much in me is the company, WWE.

Those guys are just amazing.

Their slogan says it all – Then, Now, Forever.

In 2022, or was it in 2021, they introduced a brand-new show, called, Day One.

The promo video had all the superstars holding one finger in the air with their game faces on.

I loved it.

It’s about the willingness to do what every other person is unwilling to do.

So, while every other person is at home, these wrestlers are working…

And the people who aren’t working will gather in front of their TV sets to watch these guys do their thing.

That’s exactly what these laws of freedom do in the life of a person.

They make the people who are willing to obey them a showpiece to the people who are not willing to follow them.

So, in your finances, or in any area of your life, to make your mark, the question you need to ask is;

One day or Day one?

Are you going to wait till 2nd or 3rd week of January when most business activities have resumed or…

Are you going to get going today?

Today is day one of the rest of your life.

A year from now…

Specifically, by December 31st, 2024, you are going to wish you started today.

How many more ‘new years’ are going to wait to see before you demand a change in your life?

Whatever you said you were going to do…

Start today.

Delay will only lead to decay.

Law of Daily

Success is not a day’s job, it’s a daily job.

Another way to say that is, the secret of your success is hidden in your daily routine.

Still yet another way to say that is, your daily practice is your strongest practice.

No matter how cliché you think any of those statements are,

It doesn’t change the truth.

Your success this year is highly dependent on creating a lifestyle that supports the achievement of the goal(s) you want to achieve.

You don’t become successful one day when all your dreams come to pass.

Success is a way of life.

A successful life is made up of successful days.

So how do you know you are going to achieve your financial goal for the year?

How are you using your days?

How are you using the hours in each day?

The difference between the rich and others is rich people do daily what poor people do occasionally.

This applies to finances, health, career, business, relationships – any goal you want to achieve this year.

Another name for the law of daily is the law of routine.

The law of pattern.

The law of rhythm.

To enjoy your life and walk in the freedom you desire this year,

What is the routine, rhythm, or pattern you are going to build to achieve your goal?

Law of Delay

The pursuit of pleasure is never satisfied***.

There are two kinds of delay.

The bad kind and the good kind.

The good kind of delay is the one I’m talking about here...

And you know it as the willingness to delay gratification.

Several years ago I listened to Pastor Mensa Otabil preach a message titled, ‘Buy The Future.’

He talked about how Esau sold his birthright - his future - for a bowl of stew.

Scripture calls it the ‘Esau syndrome:

Trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite****.’

The reason a lot of people struggle with their goals is because they find it hard to delay gratification.

This is why if our results are going to be different this year, we must buy the future.

The goals we want to achieve will cost us something.

There is a price to be paid to get the prize.

For the man Moses to become the champion God created him to be,

‘He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin*****.’

The truth though is that in this our very fast-paced, instant-reward culture it’s very difficult to wait for anything.

Here are three things you can do to help you:

Set shorter goal lengths.

Instead of thinking about the next 12 months,

Just focus on the next 90 days and take it one day at a time.

Refocus on the goal, not the effort it will take.

The picture of the prize must be a lot bigger in your mind than the picture of the price.

Think about the reward of achieving that goal, always.

Also think about the consequence of not achieving the goal.

Celebrate the wins.

Keep a journal.

Make reservations at a nice restaurant.

Throw yourself a little dance party.

Or call a friend on a Friday evening to share with them how you stayed consistent that week.

Celebrate and integrate your wins daily.

Don’t wait till the end of the year.

Doing these three things will help you buy your future and the freedom you desire.

YOU ARE NOT EXEMPT

Whoever sows sins reaps weeds*6.

You’ve heard the saying, whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

The statement doesn’t only work in the negative; it works in the positive too.

Obedience is a seed that guarantees a harvest of wealth and freedom.

The wonderful news is God is no respecter of persons.

His laws don’t play favorites.

Anyone who obeys will get the rewards.

And anyone who disobeys will get the consequences.

There is no neutral position.

There are no spectator seats.

There is no bench for incompetent players.

You are either for or against.

You are either playing the game to win…

Or playing the game to… as hard it is to say – lose.

This year I see you winning in your finances and every area of your life.

Obey the law of Diligence.

The diligent find freedom in their work.

Obey the law of Difference.

Don’t follow the crowd. Chart your own course.

Obey the law of Day One.

A year from now…

By December 31st, 2024, you will wish you started today.

Obey the law of Daily.

A successful life is made up of successful days.

Obey the law of Delay.

Pleasure is fleeting and temporary.

The future is solid and eternal.

Buy the future.

Buy your future.

Nick Jakoby x Reader Oneshot- (Bright)

“Oink, oink over here piggy!” 

The group of men standing in the doorway made you grimace. Damn they pissed you off. Nick walked pass them with his head lowered, trying his best to ignore the rude remarks. You’d just clocked in, and this had become a regular. Their tauntings. You really wanted to body slam all four of them. But you restrained yourself. “Don’t bother with them Nick, their dick heads. “ It was no secret that they hated the male Orc. Nick was by far the sweetest man on the force, and he wasn’t even a man. Which really said something for the unit. 

“I’m used to it, it’s fine.” you frowned. He shouldn’t have to get used to it. He was just as hardworking and diligent as any other cop. You nudged his shoulder with a smile as you walked with him. “Cheer up, in a couple of hours we have that awful dinner to attend. You have worse things ahead." Nick shook his head with a shy smile. “Is that supposed to make me feel better.” 

“Not really.” with a small giggle, you met your partner. Nick headed over to Ward, and your eyes wandered, just admiring him. You had no idea why people gave him such a hard time. It’s true that Orcs sided with the enemy in the past, but that was thousands of years ago. The world had changed so much since then, apparently not in the ways you hoped. 

Nick was so misunderstood and underappreciated. He had so much to offer if he was just given a chance. Not to mention he was a total sweetheart. Pretty handsome too. The final thought erupts a blush to your cheek, one that doesn’t go unnoticed by your partner.

“What’s got you all red in the face?” Jacob, your partner raises an eyebrow, and your face gets darker. “Nothing let’s get going.” he doesn’t quite believe you, and you try to steal one last look at Nick before you have to get going, but Jacob catches the action, a smirk playing on his lips. 

“Shit I knew it!!” His yell catches the attention of everyone in a five mile radius and as the officers stare, you feel Nick’s stare follow. You cower, smacking Jacob who just waves everyone off. When their gazes have diverted, you glare at the man before you. He raises his hands defensively. “Sorry, sorry didn’t mean to cause a scene. Not everyday you discover your partner has a crush. Damn Victoria owes me twenty bucks!” 

“Y-You betted on my love life with your wife!!” 

“Umm, hell yeah I did. Why are you even surprised?” he was right, you shouldn’t have been. You just roll your eyes, and soon the both of you are headed to the squad car. Jacob is still wearing that smug grin as you jump into the vehicle. “So when are you gonna ask him out?” 

“I-I’m not!” 

“You’re kidding, you have to (Y/N)!” Jacob has always been majorly supportive, but you’re still a little anxious. Your head lowers. “Y-You don’t think it’s weird that I..I mean I don’t  care if anyone says anything but I just..I..” The way you're struggling with your words, it’s not hard for Jacob to understand. “Listen, I’d never judge you for something like that. We’re partners (Y/N), practically family now. And honestly Nick is awesome, dude brings me scones every Tuesday cause he passes at my favorite shop on his way to work. He’s a hero in my book.” He lets out a few fake sobs to get his point across and you just groan at his childishness.

“Seriously though, Nick’s a really good guy. Everyone treats him like shit, yet he comes back and tells them to be safe. If it were me, I don’t think I’d be able to handle it that well. He could easily quit, probably just become the monster everyone keeps accusing him of being. But he wakes up and he does the job, all because he loves it, he generally cares about protecting people who don’t give a shit about him. It’s inspiring to watch. There aren’t many people like left in this world (Y/N), if you find someone like that, you should do what you can to hold onto them.” His finger ran over his wedding band, a smile playing on his lips. “That’s what I did.” His smile makes your face brighten, and you nod. 

“I’ll do my best. “ 

So maybe your partner wasn’t a complete idiot. 

That afternoon when you get home, you’re on a mission. Jacob’s advice is ringing in your head. He’s right. So you’ve decided this annual police will be your best yet. You were gonna go all out. You rarely ever get dressed up, too accustomed to dark suit pants and uncomfortable belts. You wanted something to catch Nick’s attention, then maybe it would give you the confidence to finally own up to your feelings and ask the guy out. You jump into the shower. 

“Time to knock them dead. “ 

~Three hours later~

“Quit fidgeting, you look fine.” Ward smacks Nick’s hands away from the tie. He’s been messing with it for the last ten minutes, mostly out of nervousness. This is his first time he’s worn a tux. He feels a bit ridiculous, but with Ward’s assurance, he can only hope he’s pulling it off. They stand at a table making small talk, mostly Ward. 

Nick offers a word here and there. By the looks he keeps getting, he can tell that his opinion isn’t really wanted by the people there. So he busies himself with watching the other people mingling around him. Everyone looks relaxed, sipping wine, helpling themselves to food. He’s never been a fan of this. Every year they hold these little banquets to treat the new recruits and commend exemplary performances throughout the unit. It’s a fun event for the most part. But his fellow coworkers never rest with their harsh opinions. It isn’t even verbal, just by the looks he knows. 

The sound of a few whistles catches his attention. There’s a small commotion at the doorway. He vaguely makes out the edge of purple, and that’s when he notices the man that walks in. But that isn’t what captures his eyes, it’s the woman he’s escorting on his arm. 

Golden orbs widen, and his ears twitch a bit too quickly. He wants to control it, but it’s hard, because the smile that lands in his direction knocks the wind right out of him. “Wow, your girlfriend cleans up nice.” Ward whispers. 

“S-She’s not my girlfriend.” he grumbles back. Now that you’re clear in his view, he can fully admire your dress. It’s a velvet luxe maxi dress. The color is a beautiful lavender. Thin straps at the shoulder, low cut displaying just enough cleavage. And a slit that stops mid thigh, with matching heels to complete the whole look. Your hair is loose, and a very light amount of makeup, highlighting your features. Nick thought you were gorgeous before, but somehow you’ve outdone yourself. He can’t look away, and he really should before you take notice.You settle at a table not too far from him, pulling the focus of a few males present there. With polite smiles and little words, Nick feels a bit envious. 

“Now’s your chance hotshot. Ask her out before one of those hyenas beat you to it.” Nick wants to convince Ward that it’s useless, there’s no way you’d go for someone like him. You’re completely different in every sense of the word. He doesn’t have a chance. As he opens his mouth he’s about to lay out his case, but a sweet lavender scent fills his nostrils, and he wants to question the origin, just then he feels a light tap on his shoulder. He turns, and the heavenly aroma hits him tenfold. Somehow you’ve walked over without him realizing. He’s supposed to be more aware, he’s a cop after all. Your glossed lips turn into a smile as you bat your eyes. 

“Nick..do you wanna maybe dance?” 

The slow sound filling the room, doubled with the couples now filling up the floor catches his eyes. He’s tongue tied, because you can’t really be asking him. Out of all the guys there, why him? Yes, the both of you have been friends for months now, but he’s sort of assumed your kindness was due to pity more than anything else. 

You're still watching him hopefully, and Ward gives an encouraging push. He stumbles, grabbing your shoulders lightly. When he’s steadied himself, he pulls back. “He’d love to.” Ward says. Nick doesn’t get a chance to put in a word for himself, because you smile, taking his hand and pulling him to the center of the dance floor. Nick is staggering behind, trying not to knock into anyone. When you get to your desired area, you turn back to him. Nick is stiff, the both of you are just standing there, a number of eyes on you. “I-I should probably just go, everyone is staring and I’d hate to make you uncomfortable.” 

“I’m not uncomfortable.” His eyes lift, and the way you look at him, it makes his heart hammer. What has he done to deserve your kindness, he has no idea. 

Deciding that you need to be the one to make a move, you take his hands and place them around your waist as you step closer. You can feel the slight tremble in his palms that are pressed to your body now. It’s so adorable. He’s still stiff as a board, but you know he’s trying. He’s probably so touch starved. It hurts to just think about it. Your hands are resting on his chest lightly, and you sigh, swaying with the music. Nick swallows, he’s a bit taller than you, and he’s trying his best not to look down directly at you. With you so close it’s hard for him not to pass out at how amazing you smell. Your hands slide up, going around his neck. His eyes finally meet yours, and the meaning in your eyes, it triggers something in him. “Nick..” you’re whispering, and it breaks his train of thought. “Yeah.” you lick your lips, and he wishes he could just kiss those plump lips. They are begging to be touched.  

“Do you possibly want to-” a hand pulling you from the Orc in your arms makes you jerk. Nick looks just as surprised. The officer standing between the both of you, suddenly it makes sense, and you're pissed. “Run along pig face, she’s tired of you.” Pollard rests a hand on your waist, pulling you into his side, and you shove him back. “You’re the one who’s interrupting, what the hell we were dancing!!” you're enraged. Not only has he messed up your plan to finally ask Nick out, but he’s also insulted him. Nick can see the displeasure on your face, and he’s about to suggest that maybe you leave. The last thing he wants is for you to get caught in the middle of this. He could take Pollard’s insults any day. But he doesn’t want any negative attention drawn to you. 

“Come on you don’t have to give anymore charity, we all know why you do this. You feel bad for little piggy here. Don’t waste your evening on him, how about you come with me. Have some real fun.” It’s almost laughable that he thinks you’ll drop everything and just run off with him. Nick now looks less sure of himself, a bit defeated. It’s then you realize that he must have assumed the same. You’re being nice out of some foolish obligation. You open your mouth to assure him, but stop. This time, words may not be enough. It’s time to take action. So with two swift strides you grab Nick by the lapels of his shirt and pull him in for a kiss. Pollard gapes, and Nick is tense and wide eyed. 

“I’m dreaming…” He has to be. You couldn’t be..kissing him. Your eyes are closed, and you still have a firm hold on his clothing. A few more seconds pass and you pull back slowly. Your eyes move from Nick’s soft lips, to his topaz eyes. The bewildered expression is highly anticipated. 

“If you’ll excuse us, we have business to attend to.” you take Nick’s hand, leaving a stunned Pollard, and a few surprised officers. You don’t even look back, you do however pass Jacob on your way out of the building. He’s grinning probably wider than you. When the door snaps shut behind you and you're free of the intrusive stares, you look at Nick. He’s still in a mid state of shock. “I’m sorry..” you mutter. 

Now that the events play back, you’re bashful. You didn’t even get to ask him out. Nick collects himself slowly, shaking his head. “N-No it’s fine.” An awkward silence follows. You want to say something to cut the tension, but Nick interrupts. “I should take you home.” He doesn't look at you when he says that, and now you're a bit scared that you’ve crossed a line and misread all the signs. Self conscious and mortified, you just nod. Nick’s car is parked close, as he opens the door, you jump inside. He does the same, pulling off. 

The ride is anything but pleasant. It’s so quiet you can hear a pin drop. Nick is staring ahead, and the look he wears is unreadable. 

“I ruined everything.” You should have never done that, especially since you weren’t even sure of any feelings. He must be completely disgusted with you. You're thankful that the ride isn’t long, because in a few minutes he pulls up. You don’t make any kind of eye contact, just whisper a thanks, opening the door and stepping out. 

You want to cry, how did the night turn so horrible that quickly. As you close the vehicle door, you all but sprint to your house, taking out your keys and opening your front door. You don’t even bid him goodbye, you just focus on getting inside. You do, stepping in and leaning back as you shut the door. “Idiot!” you scold yourself. “I’m an idiot..” you bite your lip. How would you ever face him again. 

The knock at your door makes you jump, and you turn, opening the door hesitantly. You peek outside, a bit surprised. “N-Nick..” He’s staring at you, maybe wanting answers for all that happened. You step back, letting him inside. He’s the one that closes the door this time. 

“Why did you kiss me?” Blunt, to the point. From the look, you know he’s just as conflicted by all of this as you. Now might be your last chance. You’ve already kissed him, what was the harm in telling him the truth. It might help you both.

“Because I..It’s what I’ve wanted to do for months now. “ you confess. His forehead creases in astonishment. “Nick I’ve..I’ve had it bad for you for so long and it makes my blood boil every time I hear the way they talk to you! You’re so caring and selfless and goddamn hot to me and I wish everyone could see how amazing you are if they’d just give you an opportunity.” you’re rambling, but you don’t care. “That jackass Pollard ruined everything I had this whole night planned out, I was gonna wow you with this dress and then finally ask you out but then he came with his false macho bullshit and it just pissed me off and that’s why I grabbed you like that to show him that this isn’t some charity I actually am crazy about you and I..” you heave, for a minute there you forgot you should breathe. “I’m so crazy about you Nick.” 

He’s still just standing there, and now you’ve given him a chance to speak. From his expression, he doesn’t know what to say. You were so out of his league. 

“I don’t understand why you would..why..” that self conscious  look, you’ve seen it many times. 

“Nick, I want you.” he stops, eyes opening a bit wider now. “I’m tired of you being so hard on yourself. You have nothing to be ashamed of.  “ you take a step forward, and he doesn’t move a muscle. “Truthfully, when I saw you earlier in this tux, I almost passed out. “ your hands reach out, going back to where they had been before Pollard stepped in. Resting right on his broad shoulders. Another thing about him that made you swoon was his build. He was nicely muscular. It just messed you up. He needs a moment to gather his breath. “Nick do you..want me?” 

“Of course!” his shout, as unexpected as it is, it makes you smile. He looks away at how desperate it sounded. “That’s good..” you don’t clarify, just lean in, and this time when your lips meet, he still doesn’t really prepare. It’s so tender, almost tentative. When he finally convinces his mind that it’s real, his hands wrap around your body, pulling you in. You sigh, and Nick responds, returning the kiss. Your head is in the clouds, You feel like you’re dreaming, if that’s the case you want to stay forever. You open your mouth, urging him to do the same, he does, taking control. 

You moan when he pushes you up against the door, now kissing you hungrily. One of his hands drift down to your bare thigh, and another needy sound releases. You can’t stop it and you don’t want to. His free hand presses to the door, and your hands grip at the clothes on his back. You’re trying to pull him forward, and he complies, pressing into you. It feels so great, his firm body trapping you there. There’s a low growl that comes from Nick, and somehow you’re even more turned on. Your hands have ventured back to the front of his tux, unbuttoning it quickly. It falls open and your fingers slip under the jacket, reveling in the taunt muscles. 

Gosh does he feel amazing. Nick feels you start to pull at the shirt, he forces himself to part. When you’ve separated, you’re both flushed and panting. Nick still believes maybe he’s at home sleeping somehow. The new scent that fills the air nearly makes his knees buckle. Your lust is so prominent, he can almost taste it. Your chest is still heaving, but you're slowly coming down from your high, so is Nick. It’s then you realize what was about to happen if not for Nick’s pause. You feel a bit embarrassed now. You hug yourself, blushing a deep red.

Oof I feel you so much with this. In the new album 아니 (Any) is my favourite song and I especially like Felix's part. His voice isn't as deep there but god, the tone of his voice is just so pretty?? It had me hooked from the start.🥺

A Guide to Stray Kids' Personalities

I'll put this under a cut as it got extremely long. :3

Bang Chan:

Chan is literally the biggest sweetheart and I keep referring to him as 'emotional support kpop boy'

he is so kind and caring - I mean he even hosts a weekly vlive broadcast to help stays fall asleep, he really cares about us/our problems and truly wants to help us feel better with his music and his words

truly does not have one bad bone in his body- he's super sweet and caring but when it comes down to business -music- he gets strict, maybe a little cold? but that's just because he wants everyone to do their best

he used to be (too) strict with Felix in the past but that was because he had a special bond with him/he liked him so much, so I assume he's the type of person who wants to see his loved ones succeed and do their best and so he might end up being a little too strict to them since he wants them to improve

he used to get more angry at the members when something didn't work out in the past but nowadays, he rarely loses his temper and he tries to stay away from them when he's really angry - he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings

he actually really likes acting cute!! he used to be the youngest member at jype and he used to hang out with older peers, so he got a habit of acting cute and giving hugs to others and now he does it to the members, haha so precious

he gets super shy and flustered when he's being complimented - he starts giggling and looking down, it's literally the most precious and he deserves to know how amazing he is because he truly is so humble

his humble self is what makes him a great leader as well since he's never greedy or selfish and always puts the members before himself - the members are his top priority and he definitely sacrifices some things for the team

but he also said he can't talk about himself well or he gets nervous when he's got a schedule by himself (like when he recorded his dance cover of 2pm's my house), so he really seems like someone who gains strength and confidence from having his team around him

he's very selfless and very supportive and encouraging but he can also be very funny and teasing

he's very genuine, sincere and nice and he's got an extremely strong sense of responsibility (vvv good trait for a leader ofc), he may seem a bit scary at first/in the past but the more you learn about him the more amazing you will find him and the more you will fall in love with him tbh

in general he's honestly top notch boyfriend material and also just a very wholesome and high quality human being

he also likes to lead and set the mood, he enjoys entertaining others and making them feel satisfied - he hopes that everyone can be happy, he wants to make people happy and then he will be happy, too

and ofc we can't forget how talented he is, music production/composition, making arrangements, writing lyrics, translating lyrics, speaking multiple languages, beautiful singing voice, amazing dancer (he's actually done ballet in the past), and also a great rapper

like tbh, what can't he do??? but believe me when I say, we're going to be asking ourselves this question quite a few times in this post

Minho:

Minho is the definition of a tsundere personality - even the members said so - at first glance you may notice that he can be quite savage and funny and maybe there's even a chance that he seems cold to some-

however, he's truly a sweet person and has a very warm heart and he selflessly cares about others without trying to make a big deal out of it - like, he'd never boast about helping others or doing someone a favour, he's the type to quietly take care of others

he doesn't like admitting to it but he truly cares a lot despite acting nonchalant most of the time - like one time Changbin asked him to get him something,,, and he shrugged it off as "nah dude, I'm not getting this for you" but he kept searching for it for 30 minutes when he couldn't find it - so that really shows it all (Changbin that dork asked Hyunjin to get it for him and then when Minho finally came back and said he couldn't find it, Changbin was like "oh shit sorry, I already asked Hyunjin to bring it to me." 🤦🏻‍♀️ #justiceforminho)

anyway, I don't want people to view him as just a pretty face who's an amazing dancer and a savage guy because he's soooooo much more than that, like there's a lot more to him below the surface -

DID YOU KNOW HE MAKES THREADED BRACELETS IN HIS FREE TIME??? THAT'S THE ABSOLUTE SOFTEST THING EVER BUT ALSO WHAT CAN'T HE DO??? SO MUCH TALENT IN ONE PERSON- (he wore one in his recent solo live and he said he made 7 in total and gave some to others, I wonder if some of the other members got one since I saw Hyunjin wearing a bracelet like that-)

he's a cat person which I love but he also resembles a cat so much?? a true kitty boy- he's very independent and self-reliant, he used to live by himself (I read that once), so he knows how to get around

he also enjoys things such as the smell of gasoline/gas stations or the smell of new buildings or even the smell of cat paws??? it's really odd but also really funny and his reason for it is that smells leave behind memories and I think that makes so much sense then-

he cares a lot about the wellbeing of animals and people and he even sponsors a child in Africa through UNICEF - my heart melted when I found out about that, he also can be seen wearing safety pins on multiple occasions and that just makes me feel like you'd be very safe with him

he can be a bit of an enigma though, even the members think he's "weird"/hard to understand as even they don't fully get him but I think that's his charm! he's not like everybody and he doesn't shy away from being himself

also, he never makes the younger members do stuff for him, on the dance team(s?) he was on predebut, he always used to be one of the youngest members so he said he never learned how to treat people younger than him (he's also an only child), so he's just comfortable with the younger skz members and I feel like they really appreciate it since it makes them feel as if they're all the same age

he also reads a lot and he's said that he reads many self-help books so that he can gain knowledge and help stays out there/convey the message of these books to them

with Minho it's really about the little things, he doesn't make grand gestures and that's why I think some people may overlook his kind and caring nature but if you really look closely, you can see it and it'll warm your heart

He's also very diligent and hardworking, albeit he seems to be someone who gets bored here and there ("I work out to kill time") he really has his goals and ambitions and he works hard for them.

His dancing is freaking amazing (@ jype pls he is a main dancer why is he rarely in center spot????) and his vocals and rapping have improved tremendously! He's got such a beautiful and angelic falsetto tbh you will fall in love with it-

So all in all, you can totally appreciate him for his wit and his savage comments but honestly, his kind and caring heart is what really made him my bias wrecker. I truly believe that he's a very caring and protective person and I find that so beautiful.

Changbin:

Changbinnie oh god, I have so much love for him and I can relate to him a lot. First of all, he always makes sure to be a good listener, so others tend to go to him with their concerns and he tries to take everything in that they say and then give them comfort

he cares a lot about other people's feelings and he puts a lot of importance on his relationships with other people - he wants others to feel comfortable around him and he is very thankful that the younger members also feel comfortable around him

he's a very honest person and doesn't pretend or fake anything, however, if his truth/his feelings would hurt someone else's feelings, he's not going to be honest. That doesn't mean that he's going to lie but he just cares a lot about not hurting other's feelings.

he said even if someone else's feelings are just a little bit hurt, it drives him crazy and he also said that he might be like that since he's sensitive and gets hurts by others easily (this is all so relatable😭)

anyway, Changbin is known for liking to joke around and also is one of the member who get teased by the others a lot, but fear not, he said that he actually enjoys when others tease him because that means they're comfortable with him and that makes him happy

how precious is that omg-

he makes jokes a lot but he is serious when he needs to be, he tends to be more fun around others/with others but is more serious when he's on his own, that's why he actually prefers to be around friends since it helps him forget about his own concerns

I guess he'd be an overthinker and to stop himself from overthinking he spends time playing around with the other members but in a way, I also feel a bit worried since he doesn't open up a lot and I hope he doesn't bottle up his feelings too much since I know how difficult that can be :c

on another note, Changbin is very focused on his health, he apparently works out every morning even when he's tired, he also cares about healthy nutrition and he takes supplements so that he can be healthier

apart from wanting others to feel comfortable around him, he also wants to be seen as a reliable person and it feels good to him when he can help someone/give them comfort

he's truly such a sweetheart and despite seeming so confident, I always feel like he might harbour a lot of insecurities underneath - but that's just my personal opinion, so take that with a grain of salt

the members also said he's the scariest when he gets mad but the sweet thing is that he always apologises to everyone after getting mad

even if he didn't get mad at everyone, he still apologises to them all, and it just shows what a good heart he's got-

and pls can we also talk about how talented he is as a producer, composer, lyricist, main rapper, and vocalist?? His voice is so beautiful and I hope he gets more confident in it and tbh he's also a really good dancer, so I hope he can get praised for his dancing more often as well (before he became a rapper he actually tried out dancing first)

so in conclusion WHAT CAN'T HE DO AND CHANGBIN BEST BOI GIVE HIM LOTS OF LOVE

Hyunjin:

"sexy boy" Hyunjinnie here is actually so much more than just a pretty face with great body proportions and amazing and sexy dance moves/skills

Hyunjin is the biggest soft boy, he's truly a sentimentalist - he gets hurt easily, Seungmin compared him to a snowflake that breaks when it touches the ground

he first thought of himself as mentally strong since that's what helps him overcome all the difficulties but later on (in that video) he felt like he was more mentally weak

he cares a lot about other people's opinion of him and it's really hard for him to ignore hate comments, he gets really sensitive about those (pls for the love of god, what a**holes are sending this precious angel hate?!?!?!?! I WANNA FITE (ง'̀-'́)ง)

with that being said, he's a very emotional boy, he tries to control his emotions or hold them in but he gets influenced by them quite often

he's also very honest with his feelings, so when he expresses them and when he breaks down, they all just burst out of him and he ends up spilling everything he's held in for a while

he doesn't really express his emotions skillfully (don't @ me, Changbin said that) so that can make you feel a bit sorry for him or it can make you feel like you want to take care of him because he's so innocent, naive and trusts easily

like really, he is, he almost got abducted by a cult once- SOMEONE PROTECT HIM PLS-

he also gets immersed in things very easily and boi do I feel him on this one; especially when he watches dramas, he gets so immersed and feels like he's living through the drama as if it happened to himself, he puts himself in the shoes of the male/female main character and the storyline just affects him so much that he often ends up crying (same same😭)

it also happens when he reads webtoons or so, he's also a huge fan of reading - ever since an acquaintance recommended him some books when he was going through a hard time and those books comforted him in a way that words never could - that was the start of his interest in reading

from the outside, we also know him as a bit of a drama queen which actually makes for so many hilarious moments - this impulsive/emotional side of him is just so authentic and he said that there's no side of him that he hasn't shown to stays

he can also be quite critical tbh and he's got his own standards for his likes and dislikes, so when something doesn't meet his standards he breaks down akdksksoals but when there's something he doesn't want to do or thinks doesn't serve him, he's got no problem cutting it off

despite that, he can actually get swayed by other people quite easily (hence, him being trusting and naive), when others make suggestions, he often agrees to them but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have his own opinions whatsoever, because he does have those as well

it's just easy to sway/persuade him, even when it comes to things like shopping - he rarely goes shopping tbh, despite dressing so well - but when he does, then he'll go get the things he finds pretty but when someone points something out and says "that's pretty" he'll buy it (so in conclusion, I really wanna go shopping with him now)

so yeah, Hyunjin is amazing and he's so compassionate and emotional and empathetic and I love him so much wtf and he's so hardworking and talented and his dancing is so amazing and his rapping has become so damn good, like his voice is loud and stable like good job baby🥺, I'm so proud of you🥺, and his singing voice is so soft and lovely, and he's also great at taking pictures- and aaaah seriously what can't he do??? he is a full package imo and you cannot escape his charms even if you try-

Jisung:

okay so Jisungie is seriously such a precious and shy bean and you don't really see this at first glance because he's so sociable, outgoing and cheerful when he's with the members

but that's the thing: he's close to them and they make him feel comfortable and confident, so he feels at ease and can show a more talkative side of himself - he's even the one who usually leads the conversation

he's extremely funny, has a lot of wit, is great at doing acrostic poems and in general, he's just such a creative person with many amazing ideas - some may call him a genius😌

but coming back to that shy side of his; he's actually a very introverted person; he doesn't like to leave the house and and hates moving in general - Jisung in bed is Jisung in his natural habitat tbh

on days off he prefers to stay indoors, lay in bed, and just watch youtube videos or tv shows or something - he doesn't like to go out or do outdoor activities and his eyes are always glued to the phone (relatable)

even when he's eating with the members he's having his earbuds in and watches something on his phone and then he gets really creative and uses all kinds of things to mount his phone (again, so relatable hhhh)

his routine is something like watching youtube videos/cartoons etc., falling asleep, waking up, spacing out and then repeating the whole process-

he sleeps really well and he can actually fall asleep in the weirdest places, it really shows how he can fall asleep everywhere but maybe he also seeks special hideouts to nap because he doesn't like being woken up and if the members can't see/find him, they also can't wake him... you get it hahaha~

Chan thought that maybe Jisung watches all these things on his phone as a way to escape reality and to relieve stress but Jisung also said that he gets a lot of inspiration from cartoons and videos to write lyrics - due to watching all these videos he actually harbours a lot of random trivia knowledge, which fits the genius description~

however, despite this outgoing side when he's with his close friends, he actually gets scared easily, may it be heights or dark places or meeting new people - protect him omg - especially with strangers he's extremely shy -> the introvert showing

he actually doesn't talk at all when he has to meet new people, he gets very nervous and awkward and scared - when they're at music shows and there's a lot of people around, he gets very nervous - he said he's never been good at making friends and he only keeps a few close friends

when he gets close to people, however, he becomes extremely talkative with no limit, he's also very affectionate and warm-hearted, his sentimental, soft and dreamy side really coming through

so basically, he's very cheerful on the outside but thoughtful on the inside - he's actually very mature despite the goofy and silly/playful side he usually shows us -> Changbin once said that Jisung feels like an older brother to him because of how mature he is, he really is a deep thinker and I guess that's also a reason why he's so amazing at writing songs

Jisung also got something we're all envious of; he can eat lots of unhealthy things without gaining weight - he loves sweet things (but also chips) and he frequently eats late night snacks and luckily for him, his face rarely puffs up despite those late night snacks, there's only been a few occasions during which that happened (and I think I got a picture of one of these instances hahahaha he really looks different with a puffy face, so cute!!!🥺😂)

he's also just such an adorable person and it's so soft and cute and fun to watch him get excited and he absolutely loves to receive praise and he's just such a baby boy tbh :(( jisung protection squad where ya at?? and well, of course, we can't end this without talking about his endless list of talents like WHAT CAN'T THIS MAN DO??? producing songs, composing, writing lyrics, amazing rapping, amazing vocals, amazing dancing, drawing, voice imitations - he's seriously one of the most talented all-rounder out there and god I love him so much and you seriously can't escape his squirrel/quokka charms🥺

Felix:

if you need a definition or a personification of the word pure, it would be Felix, like seriously, this boy is so soft and precious we need to protect him at all costs

he's literally so nice, so sweet, so kind and so creative - he's often referred to as the "romanticist" in stray kids and yeah that really fits because you know what? he once surprised Seungmin for his birthday in the cutest way. He called him on his birthday and asked him for help (as an excuse) and when Seungmin came down, Felix was there with a birthday cake with Seungmin's nickname on it - he basically organized this little surprise and Seungmin tried so hard not to cry🥺🥺🥺

Felix is so considerate and cares a lot about the other members, he's usually more of a quiet person but when he feels comfortable around someone, he can get really talkative

but him not talking doesn't mean there's nothing going on inside of him - he's literally got so many thoughts running around in his mind and he's truly an overthinker - he talks to himself in his mind a lot

he also loves playing games and he can seriously go on playing until 6am, the members said that he is very good at concentrating (for example when he studies Korean) but especially also when he's playing games

Felix said that playing games is something that helps him relieve stress or it's what he does when he's tired - playing games is a distraction for him, so he can avoid thinking of whatever's troubling him

however, recently he wants to focus more on his concerns and worries, he thinks it's not something he should avoid, so now he tries to focus on these worries and talk about them/express them more since he thinks it's important to do so

something that's really cute about him but also worrisome is that he gets sleepy easily, especially after eating, so whenever they got dance practice, he tends not to eat in order to avoid getting sleepy :(

protect him pls and pls lixie don't avoid eating~ especially when having dance practice you need your energy and it's not good to have an empty stomach and fill it with coffee and sweet beverages instead of food :(

anyway, Felix is winsome and cute and an absolute cuddle buddy, he says he doesn't really know what it means to act cute but I suppose he's just naturally cute and adorable- I MEAN C'MON-

whenever Felix talks about serious matters, it's like he needs some sort of comfort afterwards so he requires a lot of cuddles (but the members said that after a while it gets too hot (I guess because of his body heat??) so it can be hard for them to cuddle him for long periods of time :'))

Felix is also known as our sunshine, he always wants to give a positive and happy impression to others/us stays even when he might be dealing with negative thoughts, it's too precious but I hope he also takes care of himself

but trying to be optimistic and think positively instead of letting the negative thoughts consume you is already a good start and I feel like Chan also helped him a lot with this, Chanlix best soulmates ever

Felix has high expectations (it seems) and he always wants to do better and do well, he's working hard on improving himself and it really shows!!

his singing voice improved so much (as well as his rapping!! and I mean H I S  V O I C E in general oof😭🥺) and his dancing is freaking amazing!! I hope he can become confident in himself because he deserves to be happy with the person he is since he's such a huge inspiration to so many of us!! SERIOUSLY WHAT CAN'T HE DO?? he shows us that we can achieve anything with practice and hard work and that's so inspiring PLS EVERYONE LOVE OUR FELIX SUNSHINE

Seungmin:

I think the first words that come to mind when thinking of Seungmin is how diligent and clean/organized he is. He was one of the only (if not THE only) trainee who never missed a day of writing his trainee logs

he's not just diligent but extremely hardworking overall and he describes himself as serious and a bit funny - he's got very strong willpower tbh

he may also be known for teasing the members, especially Jeongin, or for nagging when someone (looking at you, Jisung) leaves behind a mess at the dorm but he is truly a sweetheart and he doesn't mean any harm

and in turn, he's also one of the members who gets teased the most- when that happens he becomes upset but he recovers very quickly as he often thinks it's not worth getting mad over

like honestly, he is a puppy, he can't do no harm :< but yeah, Seungmin is actually extremely soft, emotional, empathetic and supportive!! I've been keeping an eye on him recently and whenever something happens to a member (on a variety show - for example when one member shows off something and embarrasses himself or so), he's always there to give them a hug, comforting them

he also always tries to cheer other members up when they feel down, then he may act silly or he does/say something that's supportive because he truly cares about the members and doesn't like seeing them in pain

he's also someone who cries very easily, showing how he's truly an emotional baby but don't be phased, he's actually very emotionally strong and it's something very admirable about him

he has God sent vocals, his dancing is amazing and omg have you heard rapper!Seungmin?? Tbh I dig it!! He strictly takes care of his voice since his vocals and recording songs is very important to him - he dresses warmly when it's cold, always wears a mask and tries not to get sick

he's also very good at taking photos and he always brings his camera to official schedules and takes photos of the members. SEUNGMIN BEST STRAY KIDS FANSITE!!!!!

if you ever hear a weird noise, especially something sounding like "GAAAH" or "DA", it's probably Seungmin. He's truly a puppy, he's so cute and adorable, I feel like he's the type of person you can't get mad at

he also manages himself well, from getting up early, to cooking food for himself if there's none, to taking care of his body and health - it's really admirable and he also practices his singing so diligently and it just s h o w s- he's so good

also, he actually wanted to become a baseball player when he was a kid and we're still waiting for him to show us how he plays-

but also!!! he is a very smart and logical person (he wanted to be a prosecutor if he wasn't in stray kids) so he's got both the logical and also the very loving, empathetic side since he's also very considerate of the members - he seems to be a really good listener to them, this is just a personal observation from watching two kids room episodes- and he's actually the only member who thinks before he speaks- THANK YOU SEUNGMING I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE DON'T JUST BLURT EVERYTHING OUT-

so really ???? WHAT CAN'T HE DO HE IS A FULL PACKAGE- and fun fact, he brushes his teeth around 6 times a day-

but anyway, Seungmin is the type of person who appreciates the small things in life and finds happiness through those. I really like that attitude and he's truly someone worth looking up to. Our multitalented dandy boy- you can only love him~

Jeongin:

Jeongin here may be the youngest - and granted he is absolutely cute and adorable no matter what he does - but he's actually also a very mature person and I feel like that can be overlooked since he's the youngest of the team

while it can be hard for him to share his struggles as there's no one else his age in skz, he's also generally a person who doesn't want to burden others with his hardships so he keeps a lot of stuff to himself (so relatable)

but recently his mom talked to him about him not sharing his feelings and he's trying to open up more and share a bit, when the other members ask him if it's been hard, he often bursts into tears - god, protect him pls

even though he doesn't talk or show that much there's these moments - one time he was eating with Hyunjin and just broke down in tears since it's been hard for him - I suppose he bottles stuff up and then it comes out all of a sudden

however, his mature side is still there and the members, especially Hyunjin or Chan really enjoy sharing their feelings with him

Jeongin is a really great listener, he doesn't try to give solutions, he just listens to the other person and then shares his own experiences - it's what makes him seem mature

though he also has a bit of a mature and even cold look, so usually the first impression he gives off is different from his actual self and he said he enjoys seeing how people get surprised when they get closer to him and learn about his true self

he's also extremely clumsy and causes trouble often - from breaking doors, to accidentally hurting members, to spilling stuff, he's a clumsy boi

and he's also really forgetful, he tends to forget when he orders something online and gets surprised when it suddenly arrives or he forgets where he put his belongings (like his airpods jajdjskdks) and then he just buys new ones and then loses them again after a few months- aish that boi-

but these things are also what makes him even more lovable, like yes, he definitely has a mature side about him but you just want to protect and take care of him when you see him, amiright???

the members also said (or more like Hyunjin said) that he doesn't know anyone who's kinder and nicer than Jeongin

and on top of that, he's also a very hardworking member and his dancing and his vocals have improved soooooo much, and I'm so so so proud of him, like his voice is so beautiful

and he's been getting into working out recently, so now he's also trying to take good care of his body and wow, he's been doing a really good job even the members commented on how his back/shoulders are becoming broader

all in all, Jeongin is the cute and adorable maknae of Stray Kids but he's also so much more than just the youngest member and he's got so many things going for him and he always pushes through even when it's hard and never gives up

Summary: You agree to share your notes for the upcoming midterm with the most popular boy on campus if he agrees to make it a study date.

“In the last minute of class, I’d like to make an amendment to the syllabus,” the old feeble man at the front of the room says, waving around a paper with handwritten notes and arrows in the margin. As a professor of ancient history, he follows the ancient techniques of handling everything orally in person rather than through the convenience of emails and computers. “Surprise, surprise! Next week, we’ll be having our midterm. If you’ve been coming to class everyday and taking notes, you should be prepared… but if not, you best see me in office hours, or better yet, make a new friend!”

Ha! You’ve come to every single lecture thus far, and you’ve certainly taken notes, so you’ll be fine as long as you look over the material a few times before the exam. You can’t say the same for the large majority of the folks in your class, however. A long line has formed to speak to the professor about the midterm as soon as class ended. You recognize those students as the ones who rarely come to class, and for lack of a better word, they are fucked.

You watch the panicked students ask the professor about the content of the exam, a possible study guide, and extra credit opportunities. But your professor’s only response is, “If you’ve been coming to class, you should already know the answers.” And you’re living for it. You don’t even mind waiting at the end of the long line to ask a question out of genuine curiosity about today’s lecture on Ancient Egypt.

The best part, however, comes when the boy in front of you turns around and points at the open notebook in your hand.

“Wow, your notes are really pretty,” he says with an impressed eyebrow raise. You recognize his designer-boyfriend fashion and bright smile as that one kid who’s always doodling in the margins of his notebook—you know this because he always sits in the seat in front of you (he smells yummy like coconuts and vanilla, by the way!). He also just so happens to be a mega flirt and the most popular boy on campus, Jung Hoseok.

“Thanks,” you avert eye contact and stare down at your notes. Your notes might be “pretty” because you’re a diligent student who actually cares to pay attention to the lectures, but you have your suspicions on the intent of Hoseok’s compliment. Because more often than not, people have asked to take pictures of your pretty notes when they were too lazy to do it themselves.

Thankfully, before Hoseok even has a chance to ask for a picture of your notes, you point his attention towards the professor waiting for another desperate question about the exam.

“So, here’s the thing: I kind of missed last week’s lecture, so I don’t really have any notes for that day, so—”

“So make a new friend,” the professor cuts Hoseok off and makes eye contact with you. “For example, students like Y/N always do a phenomenal job on the written assignments, so I’m sure you can find someone to help you out with your dilemma.”

Your professor gestures not-so-subtly in your direction, Hoseok turns around, and you give them both a tiny wave. “A-anyway, I had a question about today’s—”

“Sorry, Y/N, I don’t have time for anymore questions right now... But please feel free to see me in office hours!” The old man, clearly in a rush, cuts you off. He nods to you and the boy before hustling out of the lecture hall. “Good luck studying, you two!”

“Oh…” You watch as the door slams shut behind the old man, trapping you with Jung Hoseok and an awkward silence. It wouldn’t be so bad if your professor hadn’t tried to push Hoseok into being your study buddy, but now you feel some sort of obligation to wait and see if he asks for your help. So you just stand there, pretending to be busy on your phone until he makes the first move.

“What were you going to ask him?” You suppose this is Hoseok’s way of breaking the silence.

“Just something I was curious about with the Sphix of Giza…” you shrug your shoulders. “Nothing related to the exam, if you were wondering.”

“So you’re not stressing over the exam like everyone else is?”

“Perks of coming to class and taking notes everyday, I guess,” you shrug again.

“Yeah, I missed one lecture and now I feel unprepared.” He frowns, running his fingers through his hair and ruffling it a bit. The coconutty-vanilla aroma must be his shampoo because, damn, you really got a good whiff of it just now. Not only is he trying to play the sympathy card with that adorable frown, but he’s also trying to intoxicate you with his own scent! Ha, not today, Satan!

“It’d be a whole lot easier for everyone if the professor just posted a study guide online, huh,” you say instead of offering up your pretty notes. Of course, you don’t actually mind that your professor opted not to make a study guide at the convenience of all the lazy students who failed to attend lecture. But that’s not something that the lazy students like Jung Hoseok would understand.

“That’s true, but I understand why he’s so against study guides and posting anything online for us.”

“You do?” You’re genuinely shocked.

“Yeah, he wants to reward those pay attention in class and punish those who skip class, right?” Hoseok tilts his head and it’s kind of cute. “It puts more of the responsibility on the students.”

You nod because he’s exactly right. Maybe he does understand… Or not.

“That being said,” Hoseok presses his palms together in a pleading manner. “Would it be possible for me to take a look at your notes? Just for the one lecture I missed?”

You just blink at the boy for a moment. If it were really just for one lecture, you wouldn’t mind too much. But this isn’t your first rodeo. It might start out as “just one lecture”, but eventually they’ll come back asking for more. Because they think they can take advantage of hardworking students like yourself. And if that’s the case with Hoseok, you’re certainly going to want something in exchange for your pretty notes.

“Fine, I’ll share my notes with you only if we make it a study date.” You nod to yourself, proud of your negotiation skills. If Hoseok agrees, then you have yourself a date with the most handsome boy you’ve ever seen. If he declines, then he doesn’t deserve to see your pretty notes and can perish along with his grade. It’s a win-win for you, though you do expect to be rejected. You might even prefer the rejection to avoid social interaction, considering you’re a strong believer in antisocial potatoism.

“Let’s have a study date then,” he says without hesitation. You’re caught off-guard by a cheeky smile before he takes your hand into his. “What’s your favorite coffee shop?”

“What—”

You alternate between staring into your caramel macchiato and staring at Hoseok taking a sip of his coffee. Why did a total hottie like Jung Hoseok agree to this study date? Or more importantly, who was the idiot that proposed the study date in the first place? Because it seems like more of an inconvenience for you when it would’ve been so much easier to let him take a photo of your notes and go home and never speak to him ever again. Now you’re stuck on a date with the hottie for the next hour or two. What an absolute tragedy.

When Hoseok opens his notebook, however, something does spark your curiosity about the boy—tiny, poorly drawn sphinxes in the margins of an otherwise empty page. Why does he even bother coming to class if he’s just going to sit there and doodle the entire time? At that point, you’d think it’d be a waste of time to even come to class. But before you have a chance to raise the question about his terrible art skills, he flips the page over to a fresh one.

“Mesopotamia,” you say, assuming it’s your cue to start filling the boy in on the lecture he missed.

“Ooh, like Babylon and shit…” he nods. You still haven’t brought out your own notes, but he obediently starts writing the lecture topic in bold block letters at the top of the page.

“Yeah, and also Sumer and Assyria and…” As you ramble on and on about the subject, you expect the boy to doodle like he always does in lecture. But to your surprise, he’s laser-focused on writing down bullet points of everything you’re saying, and when he misses something, he asks you for clarification.

At one point, he sets his pen down to let his hand rest and instead gives you his full attention—by staring right into your eyes! Flustered is an understatement to how you feel, looking back into his bright yet intimidating eyes. And although you tend to break eye contact and stumble over your words, your little mini lesson on Mesopotamia becomes more of a conversation than a lecture. Talking with an attractive boy is easier than anticipated.

“You aren’t going to doodle like you always do in class?” you pause your lesson because you’re genuinely curious and you need a break from Hoseok’s beautiful eyes piercing through your soul.

“Huh? Nah, that’s just what I do when I’m bored and trying to stay awake through a lecture,” Hoseok chuckles as he flips back through the older pages in his notebook. Rather than having a notebook of only doodles, it seems like he went back and added in notes from each respective lecture after the fact—perhaps by sweet-talking other good students like you. “Besides, you’re much more intriguing than our professor.”

“Wouldn’t it be a lot easier if you just take a picture of my notes?” You finally take out your notes and slide them over for Hoseok’s eyes to see. You want to test him. Because if you’re just another one of his note sources that he’s gonna toss aside after getting what he wants, you’d rather not waste anymore of your time with him.

“Why? Do you have to leave soon?” He checks his watch with another cute frown and starts chugging down his coffee.

“No, no, no.” You wave your hands so the boy doesn’t rush to finish all his coffee. “I was just saying that taking a picture would be a lot quicker and easier… if you didn’t want to stick around and hear me babble on and on or something.”

“Oh… But I like listening to you babble.” His frown turns into a duck face. “And besides, you made it super easy for me to absorb the material. I usually have a difficult time following the professor and taking notes at the same time—that’s why I always doodle in class to stay awake and focused, and I end up having to write my notes right after class from what I can remember.”

“Except for today,” you say, recalling the empty page with tiny sphinxes and slowly piecing together of complexities of Jung Hoseok.

“Right, I still have to write out my Egypt notes when I get home,” he gives you a thumbs-up as thanks for reminding him. “But I’ll worry about that later.”

You blink at him. All this time you thought he was some slacker who relied on others for their notes, but it turns out his intentions with you were the purest of pure. And he really likes you as a teacher, too, even though you’d given him a hard time about it. So maybe Hoseok isn’t so bad after all.

“Or… we could go over the Egypt stuff together after Mesopotamia, if you’d like?” You take a sip of your macchiato. There’s still plenty of caffeine left in your cup, so you might as well stay a little longer.

“Yeah, let’s do that,” Hoseok’s bright smile nearly blinds you. He literally radiates the sun’s energy. “And maybe we can figure out what you wanted to know about the Sphinx of Giza that you couldn’t ask the professor earlier.”

And you do figure it out, together. Not only that, but you notice Hoseok picked up on certain lecture details that you must’ve missed. Together you fill in the blanks, together you learn something new, and together you stay at the coffee shop until closing.

Maybe your ancient history professor had a good point in keeping his class entirely offline and in-person. Because while it would’ve been more convenient to share a study guide online or take a pic of someone else’s notes, you no longer consider yourself an idiot for proposing the study date between you and Jung Hoseok.

asterocky rambles about astro

as bad as it sounds, after seeing what is going on with underrated groups and rookies from small companies and my heart breaking a number of times, i keep thinking to myself thank you for not letting astro flop. not that other groups flopped, but the number of groups participating in programs like the unit or pd101 just to get more eyes on them is increasing and i keep feeling terrible about it. a lot of what ifs are in my mind and as a wholeheartedly astro biased person i am just happy with the love they are receiving despite being a group with an unpopular concept. they were nominated a number of times for a no. 1 during baby promotions which just means that people are paying attention and care.. thank you for looking positively at my smol babies.

i was worried about them for a while because so many people gave up on then after debut, when they saw their concept.

looking at astro and their partial success now i sort of think that it is because they appeared in the right place at the right time. there was no group like them in kpop at that time. most groups were going for a hipster edm concepts. and then astro appeared with their sunshine pop and already set fanbase they gathered after endlessly doing projects predebut. they showed what they can do before taking a 100 steps back concept wise. they created their own sound that cant be classified as anything other than astro and marking themselves as fresh, soft soda idols between kpop fans.

not gonna lie, i do think they get a lot of attention because of eunwoo and his incredible popularity. i remember how a week after debut articles appeared that our eunwoo was offered a chinese drama role. it all went from there - variety shows, mc gigs, modeling gigs. he became a wanted presence in the entertainment industry, known for being a face genius, he brought a lot of fans into aroha. i hope that they see that he is so much more than a pretty face. his diligence is something else. he trained so hard, harder than the others. and aroha that has been here for a while have witnessed him breaking down because of his private schedules and thoughts of not being good enough. there are poems he himself wrote about it. it is documented in astro project. the boy overworked himself because he does not feel talented enough, which never fails to break my heart. i often think about whether he knows how much we love him and how proud we are of him. he is the most hardworking, talented soul in the planet. i am happy to see that this theme is escalated a lot recently.

which brings me to the fact that finally the other members are getting more recognized. astro is being called a visual all kill group and when a lot of people argue about their visuals overpowering their talent, i keep disagreeing. visuals are not why people stay in fandoms. without talent or charisma, i don't think astro would have as many fans. without their sweet personalities and the love they show their fans, they would not keep so many people wrapped around their fingers. astros love for their fans is a different kind of love, a very unique love. yes, all groups love their fans. but i myself along with a lot of other people have voiced that astro's love is very evident and just.. different. you can feel it with every bone in your body. you might think it is ridiculous, but it is very hard to describe if you haven't felt it. i am sure arohas will agree on this one. it's a very evident, specific kind of love that brings warmth to your bones even if it’s as little as a tweet from astro. i have never felt that being in other fandoms.

as i said, other members are getting the spotlight and eunwoo is slowly participating in less activities. astro are becoming variety idols and on this note i would like to say that despite the obvious variety king mj, i am so proud of maknae line. rocky specifically. even though arohas always knew how entertaining he is, he was always very shy when it came to programs. you could always see a bright smile on his face and his eyes sparkled with excitement, yet he stayed pretty quiet. but recently he became more out there, he talks more, memes more. he completely stole the recent weekly idol episode with his dancing. i think the members and aroha had a lot to do with that, as they encouraged his memesona of rocky swag and arohas never pushed him too much on his solo vlives in which he noted that he felt awkward. now he smiles and talks more, he is out there being a meme. sanha, too. sanha was often very shy, he stayed quiet in shows when he could barely shut up in vlives. the reasoning was always that he could not talk well or was too stupid. i remember during their second weekly idol episode sanha spoke for about 30 seconds during a 49 minute show. now he might not speak much, but at least he is showing his kill the hyungs personality, eliminating them all from games and teasing them while dropping formalities.

and god... i have so much to say about leader park jinwoo. i honestly do not understand how he deals with these five kids. he was the baby of the family for his whole life but now has to take care of the five boys: he is solemnly raising sanha into a decent man, making sure rocky has a word or two during vlives, keeps mj up, makes sure eunwoo is eating all meals, and keeps bin in his right mind. i always thought that being a leader is a huge and difficult responsibility, because the leader has to carry the emotional burden of the whole group, eliminate negativity and make sure all members are well before caring for themselves. and let's be honest... jinwoo is a complete softie. he is the softest, most emotional person in astro who is bound to cry at every little gesture of love aroha shows towards astro. yet he takes care of us and his group, molding perfectly with every member. if you pay attention to him during vlives with different astro members, you might have noticed how he caters to the different personalities of the members. for example, he is a meme with mj, he asks a lot of questions with rocky to make him talk, he is chilled and leisurely talking with bin, he is talking either smack or business with eunwoo and there’s no in between, and leisurely controlling sanha. nobody needs to cater to him because he caters to others first, forgetting about himself completely. his top priority is his members and fans, as he often takes the comment reading position on vlive. he is genuinely curious about what arohas want to say and talk about, he escalates those topics before anything else.

despite jinjin being an emotional rock, though, i feel like moonbin has the most stability. maybe because he trained for so long he does not nerve much, but i feel like he looks at everything with a rational mind. therefore the comment he made about astro not existing in five years because their contracts end, though it hurt some aroha, was actually a very good, cold blooded observation of the future reality. i still believe that he didn’t mean any harm with the comment, he loves the fans and his group, but his rationality is what had him say that. had you trained for 7 years in a company, i am sure you would have thought out every possible way your career could end. what he didn’t want to say via this was that it’s the end of astro - no, there is no way fantagio is letting go of astro and i am almost sure that if the group flows as smoothly as they had during these two years, there won’t be any reason for astro not to remain in fantagio entertainment.

i think mj has a lot of emotions bottled up. now, this paragraph is just speculation, but seeing him smile all the time just gives off a bad vibe to me. i love mj and his positivity, i love that he can pull a joke at any time, but i sort of feel like the jokes are his coping mechanism and also a way to take care of the younger boys. he is the eldest member of astro and i feel like he feels like he has to take care of the boys, which is a big objective on it’s own. and in his eyes, the best way to do it is to play with the boys and up their spirits a little. hopefully mj knows that it is ok to be sad and that we won’t be upset if we see him sad. we’d rather empathize with him. aroha’s love will make you feel better, mj.

this is turning from a thank you for not letting astro flop to an open essay about the boys, sorry. but i guess what i wanted to say is that astro have adapted in the idol world in their own little ways. they might have not provided us with club bops (even though you could get down to baby in the club and i will fight anyone on this), but they gave us songs you can listen to when you are down and smile. even more so, songs that are undoubtedly astro. and who astro is is different for 90% of the popular kpop scene in 2017. the boys themselves said that even though they were surprised at their concept, they are happy about it because they have all the time in the world to grow  up and be manly in front of us. for now, they would rather stay bright and happy, our soda idols, refreshing us on a summer’s day and being cute, so they do not look ridiculous trying to pull off a manly concept at a too young age or vice verca - pull off a rainbow concept when they are in the middle of their 20s. and what makes me happy is that people accepted i, the fact that astro are different from a lot of kpop groups. the fact that astro put out giggly, light pop instead on hard dropping edm club tracks and actually listen to those songs and wait for astro’s comebacks. the fact that astro’s climate is loved mends my heart. i wish all groups were loved like that.

The main character is someone who is extremely hardworking and diligent in learning everything she can in order to prove herself worthy and catch up to her peers who have been working on the Design Team longer. She struggles a lot, but also seems to learn something from the experience and takes everything with stride. However, she tends to keep everything she is suffering about to herself and tries to keep moving along because she doesn’t want to be an inconvenience to other people, especially when it comes to trying to dealing with Koichi’s cheating. At the same time, she seems to want to give up at times when she comes to realize that some of her coworkers still have a bad point-of-view of her. The main character has a tendency of giving up the things she loves, as shown with Kiyoto during the latter parts of the story and because she believes it will be best for them – she is endlessly selfish with what she wants compared to others. During the majority of the route, she can be very hot and cold with her emotions, because while she falls for Kiyoto she doesn’t want to bother him and early on, she wants to make it work with Koichi. She might be easy-to-read in regards to her emotions,  While, it might be easy for Kiyoto to tease her, she reacts very strongly to it and either hits him or keeps treating him like a little kid, something that he doesn’t really enjoy.   

From the moment she meets him, Kiyoto Makimura always seems to be trying to seduce or tease the main character with something indecent. She soon comes to realize that chasing and being with women that are already in a relationship is something that Kiyoto really enjoy. However, there is a simple side to him as well that enjoy eating meat and says some embarrassing things from time to time, though he doesn’t like it when the main character treats him like a child. With all this is actual becomes kind of hard to believe how great his painting actually is, as it seems to capture a lot of people’s attention, though he seems to be in a slump at the moment due to personal reasons. Through it all, Kiyoto can be very sweet and seems to care a lot about the main character and seems to wear his heart on sleeve at time in the way he interacts with her during the last chapters.  Yet, there is a bitter side to Kiyoto as well that thinks that all women will eventually leave when they find something better, which gives him no qualms when chasing other women, but that changes when he realizes that the main character might be doing the same. 

In the Main Story, Kiyoto sees Koichi with the other woman at the same time the main character does, he tries to comfort her in his own way – by suggesting that she sleep with him. Due to a project from work, she realizes that Kiyoto is actually a really great painter, though he is constantly trying to seduce her or trying to get some type of reaction out of her. As she spends more time with him, the main character starts to realize that she is attracted to him, but she still struggles to make it work with Koichi. As the main character comes to realize what she really wants, she also sees that there are a lot of experiences that Kiyoto can still go through because of his age that could help him as a painter and that she might be the one holding him back in the long run. So, with a heavy heart, she decides to push him away for his own good.

In the Another Story, after her divorce, the main character starts living on her own with the desire to own a cat. Due to circumstance, she finds herself living with Kiyoto and his pet cat, Orange, for a month as she finds herself taking care of both. As she struggles with her work and love life, Kiyoto is there to support her in whatever way he can, as she does the same for him. Slowly, Kiyoto makes it out of his painter’s slump, but like before the main character thinks that she has to push her feelings aside in order to help Kiyoto grow. 

While, they have some differences, both stories seems to have the main character and Kiyoto help each other overcome some type of personal problem. However, it is the main character’s insecurity and overthinking that ends up with her pushing Kiyoto away from some time until he finally does something about it! It is good to see him becomes secure over his ability and that he wants to protect the main character instead of the other way around. This is shown off well in his POV where he goes from thinking that the main character is just another married woman to sleep with to the person that he wants to be with, regardless of the age difference. However, the Main Story might seem a bit more dramatic towards the end because of how the main character decides to do things in order to get Kiyoto to move forward with his travel plans. The age difference is also played on more during the MS, since the main character keeps using it as her main excuse from being with Kiyoto.  

In terms of supporting characters, Aiba really shines in both stories, though more in the MS because he encourages the main character to keep going after Kiyoto (and seems to know what is going on between them), even after she seems to have given up. The theme seems to be centered around around finding out one’s own priorities and to stop running away from difficult situations. Both Kiyoto and the main character seem to be doing this in different ways and seem to indulge on each other’s company as a type of escape, but that changes and they something to keep working hard for – one another.

Kiyoto has a really good pair of stories, but the way he interacts with the main character and his initial attitude might be too much to handle for some people. But, if you like dramatic stories with complex personalities, consider checking it out!

PERSONALITY

Ashling is that typical good boy. He always followes orders (other than bad ones), hardworking, diligent, kind and respectful. Most of his first impressions are shy and a bit childish, while some show that he's a little distant but otherwise kind. He's open and really sweet when you get to know him. He can also be optimistic and pessimistic at certain situations (pls tell me what to call those kind of people!). He's that kind of guy who doesn't want to hurt people because he believes in the golden rule, AKA "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

His certain flaws are that he works a little too hard that he barely has any time for himself. He asks if he could work during weekends, even if he still has to teach himself to play songs on his bass. Another is that he's a little dense. Although it may not be that much of a flaw, it still has a few problems.

BACKGROUND (Prepare for long stuff oops)

Ashling pretty much lived a normal life as a kid. He wasn't rich, but wasn't that poor either. His family had enough to provide food, shelter, clothing, but sadly not education. Ashling was homeschooled because of this. His mother was a teacher, luckily, so he had a decent education. His father had studied more on biology, thus Ashling's love for the topic. This was the same thing with his mother, except it was with astrology.

His parents had met in Britain, which explains why they live in this country. They could have went back to Spain before Ashling was born, but they didn't have enough money so they ended up living there. And because of this, Ashling slightly caught up with the British accent.

Alright, Ashling was in a relationship once before he knew he was gay. His relationship was with a girl, but as their relationship progressed, he realized he was into boys. The girl was alright with this, since she realized she also liked girls during their relationship, so they broke it off. They both thought it was a great relationship, even though they broke up, since it made them realize what their orientation was. He didn't come out to his parents until he finished Junior year. His parents were understanding, luckily, so they supported him.

His parents passed away due to age. He was in college by then. He managed to support his education by working as a waiter in a restaurant owned by his friend. Now throughout the years, he was looking for an instrument to play. He realized he loved playing the bass when his friend offered it, so he ended up teaching himself with the help of the internet, but still borrowed the bass. He ended up volunteering as a music entertainer, which resulted in earning more bucks, enough to get his own bass, which he named "Roxy" because "She rocks!!"

Even when he graduated, he still kept his job as a waiter and as a music entertainer since it was his passion. He had enough to support himself. His job gave him enough money to pay his rent, and to buy his clothes and food. He was satisfied with this, so he doesn't plan to quit yet.

Fun Fact: His friend was the one who dyed Ashling's hair. They had dyed it around 4 to 5 times to get the color they thought fits him.

The smoke settles to reveal PARK HYERIN, a 23 year old human of Sunseong. He is a DSEM-affiliated hunter who appears to be adept with firearms, melee weapons, and supernatural tracking – but like most things in Sunseong, there seems to be more to him than meets the eye.

FACECLAIM: Seo Hyerin, exid

APPEARANCE:

Though Hyerin has no in-human qualities, it’s important to note that Hyerin has yet to come out of the closet, and so appears and expresses as a feminine person, despite his male identity.

BIOGRAPHY:

he’s always been smaller than average, a little too thin, a little too frail. minkwang always said it’s because they never got to eat as much when they were kids, that he’d probably have a late growth spurt. comforting words, but they do little to change hyerin’s current situation. to everyone she is a poor, weak girl, an easy target for bullying. there are no exceptions.

he refuses this narrative entirely.

he does his best to fight back, pushing and shoving and reciting the cusswords he hears the street vendors yell at him when he walks past in his school uniform (or really, any outfit that involves a skirt). it gets him in more trouble than it’s worth, and worse still, his brother is one who takes the brunt of the punishments, both verbally and physically. young, frightened, confused - he doesn’t want to see the blood on minkwang’s knuckles, under his nails, because he has to (he needs to) hold that hand on his way home from school everyday, and he doesn’t want to see his brother flinch with pain whenever hyerin touches his hand. minkwang only ever wanted to protect his sweet little sister, and hyerin;

hyerin just wants the one person who cares about him to stop hurting. 

so he learns to keep his mouth shut, walk quieter, duck his head and murmur apologies he doesn’t mean. for a while the bullying is worse, and despite what he thinks, they don’t get bored of him. but when he’s so ‘passive’, so weak, it goes by faster. better still, he learns how to avoid them entirely, sneaking by unnoticed through practice. 

it does nothing to quell the simmering rage though. hyerin does his best to stay quiet, submissive, but he is by no means a pushover. the anger doesn’t go away just because he wants it to. it stays. it simmers. it festers.

hyerin takes the news of their parents death surprisingly easily. his brother - hyerin tugs his shirt, thin hands nearly shaking. as long as his brother stays - as long as minkwang stays with him, as long as he doesn’t leave hyerin all alone, he’ll be okay. minkwang is the only one that knows him, the only one that cares. he pictures coming home to find his parents gone and thinks the image is totally normal. he pictures coming home to find his brother gone and the thought is so distressing it feels as if the whole world is collapsing, condensing into his tiny lungs so tightly he’ll never breath again. 

a man comes to them, presents them with a second chance, with revenge. minkwang takes it whole-heartedly, and hyerin? he goes where his brother does. 

they’re naturals at it.

or, minkwang is. hyerin’s training sessions end more often with him screaming, tearing at practice dummies with him bare hands, toppling men twice him size through sheer force of will alone. there seems to be no end to his anger, and it baffles his mentors as to how someone so small and so quiet can be so violent. he’s just thankful minkwang has different lessons than him, doesn’t have to see what hyerin does.

the age difference means hyerin’s partnered with someone else when he’s finally ready: another mentor, the same age as his brother but far more accomplished. 

she’s gorgeous, merciless and violent, loud and dramatic, passionate, arrogant, overwhelming. 

the other boys in his training program don’t think sooyoung is that pretty, tease and say hyerin is prettier, but hyerin doesn’t care: he doesn’t want to be sooyoung so much as he wants her. for once, there’s someone in his life other than minkwang, someone who laughs at his jokes and pinches his cheeks, dotes on hyerin and indulges him even when he struggles to say what it is he even wants. 

he latches onto, sixteen and desperate for affection. 

she’s straight, still thinks he’s a ‘girl’, but hyerin- he could never reveal this to anyone, not even the brother he slowly grows distant from. 

it’s not fair. sooyoung is only twenty but she’s had her heart broken more times than any person ever should. her happiness comes in waves but her anger, her resentment, her sadness comes in tsunami’s. even with the excess channeled into hunting, more often than not, hyerin finds himself letting sooyoung soak his shirt with her tears. 

it’s not fair. hyerin loves her. hyerin could protect her, love her the way she deserves. he murmurs comforting words, but the rage runs hot in his veins. his power comes with a sense of entitlement, good intentions but violent, narcissistic applications. 

it doesn’t matter. she’s killed on a hunt, a raid into a vampire coven (a wolf’s den? he can’t remember, the details blur). 

hyerin’s mouth is full of blood, he bites his tongue so much. 

he doesn’t stop minkwang when he leaves DSEM, just murmurs a good bye and hands in an application to begin working alone, more documentation to change his last name. he doesn’t want anyone slowing him down, doesn’t want anyone tied to him anymore.

hyerin is praised for his work, but their words feel bitter, wrong, like a mouth full of poison that doesn’t burn till it’s reached his gut and scored his insides with soot. they don’t see him - the alacrity with which he takes to hunting is frightening, even to himself should he reflect on it for more than a moment. it’s not just a matter of duty, of completing his tasks and being adept at his job – hyerin’s hatred for supernaturals reaches no limits, he takes to killing quickly, easily, eagerly.

sooyoung sired a monster to take her place, but hyerin is far more vicious, more vengeful, more violent than anyone had ever expected him to be. 

CHARACTERIZATION:

a life time of reigning himself into silence means that hyerin has become quiet by nature, speaking through body languages and tiny whispers to make himself seem as small as possible. introverted and awkward, hyerin doesn’t have many friends, both unsure of how to make them or whether he even wants to. he can be kind and polite, but the efforts to socialize exhaust him more than anything.

despite his outward appearance and whatever misleading first impressions he may give, hyerin is by no means weak or vulnerable. diligent and hardworking, he has honed his skills to become a skilled hunter, good enough to work alone on most missions despite his age. surprisingly strong and agile, hyerin gets by just fine on his own and he intends to keep it that way, thank you very much.

like his brother, he’s a quick learner and stubborn to the bone, headstrong and resolute. to him the world is in black and white, split between right and wrong. and if anyone is not on his side, the right side, they are wrong. his quiet demeanor means that some assume he’s a pleasant, reasonable person - and he can be to an extent. but before anything else, he’s a bitter, vengeful person, full of too many roiling emotions to know what to do with them but suppress.

it’s great that he works alone, of course. DSEM protocol advises to avoid close combat, which he does follow on most occasions. but he rather likes it: not the fighting part, but the killing part. there’s truly nothing like breaking a were skull in, or staking a vampire in the heart. there are no restraints on him when he works alone, so long as he gets the job done, and so when he finally corners a target - it’s good anger release, to put it lightly. such blind rage is hard to expect from someone who seems so passive, and though the misconceptions about him are irritating, he reasons that being underestimated can always be to his advantage, especially as his reputation as a hunter grows.

SPECIALTIES:

Unranked: growing up small and frail meant that hyerin was a target for bullying by many: classmates, parents, teachers, if they thought they could get away with (they could). though his brother did his best to shield his, circumstances force him to learn how to hide: pent up anger does nothing for him, so he makes himself small and unnoticeable. over the years this has developed into impressive stealth. he is light on his feet and far better at sneaking around unnoticed than any law-abiding citizen should be. though in hunting, this has proved to be to his benefit.

Melee Weapons, Rank II (40 points): hyerin was never book smart, but he’s always been good at fighting. his brother had always been far better with his hands and even though hyerin is by no means weak, he’s certainly far better with a tool in his hands than nothing at all. though he’s become fairly adept at most of the weapons typically used by hunters, hyerin prefers a much more hands-on approach, and has become exceptionally skilled in hand-to-hand combat and the use of melee weapons.

Firearms, Rank I (20 points): though hyerin does have some skill with firearms, it isn’t his preferred method, but rather one he has learned through his continued work with the DSEM. he has a preference for long range guns as opposed to short range, as it requires a more controlled attitude and can minimize damage as a result.

Supernatural Tracking, Rank I (20 points): hyerin finds that his developed stealth aids the process of recon work - a useful skill when he wants to avoid using the tracking abilities of a witch. through practice he’s gotten much better at tracking and stalking supernatural creatures in order to find vulnerabilities to exploit. there are limitations to what he can do without the help of a partner (human or not) but he manages as best he can. digging up information about his target (without getting caught) is a skill in itself, under-appreciated and underdeveloped as it is.

Major ward against mind control (10 points): his line of work puts him at risk quite a deal, and falling under the influence of his enemy can risk not only his own life but the lives of those he works with. directly through magic or indirectly through manipulation, the ward (scarification on his right hip) warns him of impending intentions to control, as well as protecting him against such efforts. due to the power of such a ward, the scar needs to be recut every year, otherwise it’s strength fades.

Major ward against presence detection (10 points): sneaking around so much can keep him undetected against humans, but for supernatural creatures who can sense his very aura, a ward (scarification on right thigh) is required. besides keeping his own presence concealed, it reveals to him all that are hiding within the vicinity. the closer they are, the stronger he feels their presence, even more so if they have magical abilities. though determining species can be a bit confusing, he can generally tell which direction they are in, though if more than one person is in the area it can throw him off. unlike his other ward, hyerin is capable of activating this ward only when he needs it, otherwise his ward would warn him constantly and often unnecessarily.
