meal for todayyy microwave ready szechuan beef+noddles that i added some steamed vegetables and seasoning too and heated up in my rice cooker:-)

#mintharlach fic progressing at one sentence per day. at least they can touch each other now. urgh #anyway I've had my cold for a week now and i keep experiencing new and interesting symptoms #horrible cold. not fun. tests say it's not COVID well I'm still not having a good time #mostly I'm just sooooo tired so fast... especially after eating urghhgg #i want vegetables but they kick my ass bc not very digestible. it's so funny how i love broccoli but when I'm sick broccoli kicks my ass #brown rice and steamed broccoli once gave me a three day migraine. this vegetable is trying to kill me officer!

#caroline talks #i understand now why people say cooking is therapeutic #because like. i feel so happy and excited when i cook #like yeah it might not really be something I’d be proud of giving my family or friends #bc I feel like it’s lowkey crap but the important thing is *i* think it’s tasty #and like…..yeah :’)) it makes me happy :’)))#anyways i made myself odeng soup which is literally so simple #it’s. water. add anchovies + kelp for flavor. add cubed radish. add korean soup soy sauce + mirin. stir.#skewer your fish cakes. dump it in the broth. boil for 3-5 minutes.#serve with rice. BOOM it’s light but also I feel really full but I’ll probably be hungry enough to have a snack 2 hours from now #it’s just. a solid dinner.#if i had more time and energy I’d serve it with dumplings or steamed eggs #but nah I’m so happy and satisfied now!

//I don't know if this counts as a sauce so much as a cooking mix, but I really like to take honey, soy sauce, a bit of tomato paste and garlic puree and stir 'em all up w/ red pepper flakes, onion powder, and paprika to coat basically any protein in before tossing it on the skillet

Ground beef/chicken/turkey? Delicious. Chopped up chicken thighs for rice or gumbo? Delicious. Stir-fry beef? Absolutely delicious

Edit: No I do not have measurements btw you measure that with your heart

#Optional ingredients are mirin; red wine; worcestershire sauce (just a smidge); toasted sesame oil; olive oil; or sugar (brown or white)#OH and/or stock if I have any leftover #This probably has a name but for me it's just kitchen sauce (ie what I have available in the kitchen)#food talk #I should try it with more veggies but I am Not Good at cooking veggies if I'm not steaming them in the rice cooker

#All i want to do is have a nice shit #Like the last time i had one i feel like was in november #Idk that week was so good it was magical #All i remember is i had dosa and kurma which is a rice lentil batter with coconut milk and steamed veggies #I am pretty sure i had wheat too cuz i eat it so #No i am nostalgic for that week #Sorry for this post but truly has made me so miserable #And my diet has just changed a lot this year #Like in feb i went insane and started binging on fried chicken and before this in 4 years i had chicken 5 times #And 0 times 3 years before that #Then i started eating more protien which i think i barely eat much but it may be the problem #And i had started eating a lot of eggs but i have the ick now #And i started eating more dairy bcz protien and again very low dairy consumption and none for years #Like idk i just want balance

#yesterday morning he rqed spam bowl unfortunately were out of furikake #very funny tho bc lamp had also asked for spam bowl. like 2 minutes b4 he did #its very funny 2 me that im designted spam bowl maker bc its legit the easiest thing ever. idm tho bc it gives me an ego boost bc everybodys #like This is so delicious ^_^ as if it isnt very easy. so i get to be like Heh... yeah... they call me 'the chef'#even tho i literally have to make lamp slice the spam for me bc im so bad at it JRNFJFNF they always come out wonky and uneven and like #paper thin. like they taper so direly #but ya. spam bowl so easy #for those unaware its legit judt spam and then rice and rice seasoning and rhen eggs.#i usually do like 3 slices of spam cook them up til theyre likee caramelized or whatever then i cut them up #the rice. ok dark secret. im sorry. i use boil in a bag #ITS ALL WE EVER HAVE is either boil in a bag or the microwave cups... sry... sry..... im sry #but anyways. ya its like 2ish cups.#sometimes 1.5.... idk i feel theyve made the boil in a bags smaller used to be me and lamp could splitsies one but this last one we had to #supplement with the rice cups which i dont like to do bc the rice cups r for beef stew. and unfortunstely km down 2 #and also unfortunstely is the extra cup each was TOO MUCH rice we shouldve just done one extra cup and splitsies it half . but anyways #ya. so its that and then like a ?? sunny side up egg #my dad always gers on my ass bc j just call it a fried egg but its like. look all i do is crack the eggs (3) into the pan (we have a small #pan that makes a perfect circle of egg that perfectly firs rhe bowl)#and rhen i just put a lid over it and turn the heat off (pan hot from spam)#and the steam gets it perfect. u want the yolk RUNNY #anyways yeah. and then rice and furikake to taste #i need to train myself to use Less to be honestly. always i use too much DJFNFJNFFJ. thats why were out #but ya. my dad liked spam when he was a kid and then didnt have it 4 a while n rhen i made spam bowls for dinner one day and now hes #constantly like .... I think soam would taste good in this #earlier he was like Get this. spam in ramen... and i was like yeah i think that would be good 👍👍👍 its kinda funny #im so glad everybody likes it tho bc it means j dont have 2 buy it 4 myself DJFNFJNFNF

i love broccoli so much. just steaming a little broccoli in a pan with waters and letting it brown and eating that is a good treat for me to have

#i did for dinner look at my pantry and go hmmm ??? and just decided to toss rice in with some steamed broccoli and seasoned it a little #and it was honestly better than i thought it'd be. wish i had a protein for it but it really was pretty good for what it was #and it stays good forEVER ... and its so CHEAP ...#its good to have food like that i know i can make and smile about if shit gets rough for me again #im pretty hardy but like. its good to not be too too hardy and smile a little lol
