When starting up the Finch: Self Care Pet app (highly recommend if you're in need of tracking your tasks and mood in a fun cute way with a sweet little birb that you raise) sometimes you get a kind quote~
This quote though... wow... this has got to be one of my favorites. Nighttime really is a beautiful thing. 🌝 🌠

Probably the only thing I will say on the problems surrounding Wilbur and the CC himself atm, its a litte raw coming from someone who mained SBI for nearly two years.
Tumblr media
That character is one I took for myself, DSMP in a lot of ways was built on fan content made canon, leaving a lot of open room for changes.
Hell I had a whole non canon pantheon and various powers I gave different characters in the ways I chose to portray them.
I am very upset about how it all went down but am using the energy to push towards my original writing and less online time.
I will still talk about fandom related things! You know I will, I've been loving my time on this platform. Its a lot more chill than others like a certain birb app.
These past 2 years I have been finally addressing a lot of my mental health concerns and done some self-evaluation, escapism is a bad habit of mine I am working on dialing back.
I am still very passionate about my writing.
I enjoy writing fanfic still because I picked it up as practice and it helped me immensely find a footing in my style once more.
I just needed to get this off my chest.
Thank you all for sticking with me through these changes. <3

Nintendo WIP
Taglist: @nintendo @niantic - @nele3299 - @hoodie-art
Nintendo is a so-called game company, but a game company wouldn't overlook such trivial details that are a huge impact on not only their games but their players. It's almost like they want to make all of their 'fans' or just people who could care less about them themselves and only play certain games not want to come back for any sequels or prequels to their games. It's like they didn't even bother to think about this mess until a bunch of people finally open their mouths about it, but that is a hard task. Even if I get no one's attention I want to make some points that at least everyone in the community can agree on.
Animal Crossing
People have either been playing animal crossing for years or only joined with the recently made New Horizons along with me.  But in the most recent games, there have been a few things that are too blaring to overlook. It's almost like Nintendo wants to watch players suffer, which if the players suffer, the company suffers greatly too.
So the aspect is to have a bunch of villagers on your island and do a bunch of DIY's that look like 5-minute-crafts came up with how to make things. But I digress, for the most part, it does make some logical sense. But when you need to craft over ten packs of fish bait, it gets more than annoying. Or need to craft maybe four or ten chairs or benches or something seasonal. to have a perfect seasonal island for a month before switching it up again. It would be more than lovely to have the option to pick more than one. I know if you mash A a bunch it goes faster but that doesn't exactly make too much of a difference if you're making a bunch of the same item. Not only that but if you're buying maybe 10+ nook miles tickets, let's say you have 40,000 Nook Points,  You can get twenty whole NMT, but pressing A and waiting, doing that twenty or more times depending on how many points you have? It's unbearable and not even finding the villager you want after hopping island to island and waiting hours and mashing A for the amount you want or need.
It shouldn't be hard to program in a counter. You make updates for all the wrong things, I feel.
Like the update to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, needing a certain camera lens to play a game that actually doesn't require a camera lens like that? Nintendo had an update in November of last year where they cut more than half of their player base. Their phone needed a gyroscope camera, not even phones bought last year could run the game, apparently. I was one of the players affected. I spend actual money on that game. For what? Cosmetics I can't even see anymore? Can't even use? After a month of nothing I had to uninstall, I was told that I should wait but I just didn't have the storage anymore. Sadly. I went back to see the reviews, most people left even if they could still play it because they couldn't play with their friends or couldn't play period.
I want to point out Pokemon Go!
Pokemon Go uses a camera feature for their 3D Pokemon models, which is amazing! But why does that work and yet Pocket camp doesn't? Well, technically Nintendo doesn't own Pokemon Go, Niantic does. Niantic uses different software than Nintendo itself, that and they're two different apps, they were made very differently. But then why does the camera have to be a gyroscope for Pocket Camp and not Pokemon Go? Pokemon GO uses it's AR feature more than Pocket camp! This is true, but the camera feature isn't even needed with Pokemon Go either, it's optional. So then why is Pocket Camp different? Well, Google told app developers that all apps needed to be 64bit by next year. But what does 64bit have to do with a camera lens? The gyroscope lens is implemented in all 64bit phones, that's the difference. Pokemon Go might update soon too but for now, people with a 32bit phone can play it and use its AR features. But I don't know why Nintendo would conform to Google's rules, as Nintendo is its own company and if it's still getting money... Google takes a percentage of money from players as tax for the service, so both Nintendo and Google are taking a hit. I really don't get their thought process here, people are canceling their subscriptions and spending less on their games, people on Reddit and in Google reviews are both saying the same thing.
Oh, but this is where I talk about Pokemon Go now.
Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go is an amazing game that Nintendo can't touch. Until they wormed their way in with Pokemon Go Eevee/Pikachu. Soon you'll be able to transfer Pokemon from go onto your switch games! But... they can't return back to your phone. Here's the thing I want to do, if I have a two-star Pokemon in Pokemon Go and transfer it to make it a three-star with vitamins then I should be able to then send it back into Pokemon Go and dominate. But that's the thing. I can't. We don't even know if they way to make it go two ways or if it'll forever be a one-way transfer only.
I love how Niantic added Jessy and James even though Jessy as a 3d model looks... strange. I wonder if they'll add Butch and Cassidy, since they were also semi-part of the lore, they mainly just competed with Jessy and James. But this is just a thought I wanted out there. I want more diversity, honestly. But it would take a long time to implement, but I think it would be cute to see how it is implemented. It could be an event type deal and I'd still be happy just to even see them.
I want to congratulate them for finally putting in Kalos starters! I've been wanting a FenFen (Fennekin.)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers
Okay, so I've played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time and Darkness, and let me tell you the anime for it was amazing too. I wanted more. There was a 3Ds version, hated it. Circles... I gave up and restarted twice and haven't touched it for so long since it just.. wasn't as good as the original. I've been meaning to play Sky but one thing at a time. There has been a lot of people talking about the starters, and boy oh boy I'm on the bandwagon late. I was curious about the personality quiz but seeing everyone say want starter is best with what partner and seeing how everyone said 'Don't be Totodile and Mudkip!' or 'Don't be Eevee and Skitty!' it just made me confused since you... technically couldn't have two of the same type of starters. What in the heck were those people thinking? But that isn't entirely a point. The point is starters. In the switch version of Mystery Dungeon, there are some things I just cannot say. The starter selection of awful. What happened to the Unova starters? You added Cubone but not Riolu? Where did you put my baby shinx?
The starters were pretty meh, they could have added more in my opinion. The screen surely could handle it. Also, the animations for the starters weren't even special or fantastic so it wouldn't have been that hard. I hate the walking animation for Eevee. I picture for Mudkip and Skitty it's not much better.
I've played it for three days and was so disappointed. First off, my partner, an AI? I had to literally kill him for my starter could get back to the same level. Thanks, blast seeds. But if I am being honest in found it to be so funny. Not only that but in said Dungeons, on any floor the boss could just be there and without warning. You could have explored the entire floor and it just appears randomly, or might not even be there. Hate that.
Also, there are no party rooms. I miss the party rooms. The party rooms are rooms that randomly fill up with Pokemon either if you hit a tile for the party room, somehow get the room by being dropped there with or without your partner (and co), or if you enter it from a path. I barely ever get past them but it would be a good experience. Also, you can only have yourself, your partner, and whatever one Pokemon you want with you. In previous games, you could have two addons. What happened to that?
Not to mention that in the story, you suddenly are exiled and after beating two birbs you then fight, Ninetails covers for you and says it isn't you, and then everything is suddenly.. just okay? All fine and dandy? So many people wanted to literally kill you over a rumor. If you died once you would lose 5,000 P and items. Um, excuse you. At the end of the journey, I gathered a little over 5,000 P because I'm a money-hungry person who wants to open all of the camps. But again, I know we'd have to go and find Ninetails and figure out the story but that.. wasn't the way to do it. You get past maybe six dungeons and are hit with that suddenly. I would get it if it was mid-game and they suddenly found out the secret and everyone was like 'you were so nice, what happened?' 'Why was it you?' 'You lied to all of us' and it broke my heart, that just upset me. None of them even let the starter explain, and even if they did the option was literally only dots. Also, why was my partner so supportive? They're just so baby and it's killing me. That's just my take on what they could have improved on.
If you want to add on, add your own, or say anything, feel free below or to message me so we can talk about this more. Thanks for the read, lets hope this gets covered on some youtube channel for 'controversy' or just to be agreed on.

This is messy and is not about BB!Oz exactly, but this is the preclude and the beginning of Headmaster!Ozpin’s first interaction with Qrow and how it defines their relationship afterwards.
If you want to see how this fits in the Birb Fanus!Ozpin AU and some more deep plot points, keep reading. Otherwise, it’s just Ozpin and young!Qrow hanging on the side of a cliff after the edge broke off.
Context: On Ozpin’s side, this is his 4th time meeting Qrow who is now about 17-18~ years old while Ozpin is about 10~ years older (?). However, this is his first time meeting Qrow without wings and it took him a bit of a while to realize this Qrow was the same child he met when he was younger (his vague familiarity with Qrow was what made him decide on the cliff launching test when he saw the skirt). Qrow is still having trouble socializing with his peers and team so Ozpin is started wandering around tall places while reminiscing old memories. It was not long before Qrow was called in for causing trouble and Ozpin suggested meeting up near the cliff area since he was already there and Qrow knows the location.
On Qrow’s side, he doesn’t remember or know the name of the fanus whom he saved and was saved by since he was so young. He thought those meetings were dreams of an imaginary friend. When he first saw the headmaster, he thought Ozpin looked familar, but not right so that made him feel strangely irritated and confused (not to mention getting launched). When he was sent to the headmaster, he was grumpy but figured this was a good way of gathering info for Raven. Again, when he saw the headmaster aginst the background of the evening sky, he thought the image seemed wrong. However, Ozpin didn’t speak down to him and actually listened to his frustrations with integrating with school life. Although he still had to be punished for causing trouble, Qrow had a feeling things at school won’t be so bad with Ozpin around.
Of course, naturally, this is when his bad luck happened and the cliff edge Ozpin was standing on happened to crumble apart, surprising them both. What surprised them both even more when was Qrow immediately reached out and threw Ozpin back, too being being surprised how light Ozpin was (bird bones) to realize his momentum caused him to fall down the cliff instead.
While he was cursing himself for not bringing his weapon, he absently notes that this is probably better than getting killed (probably by Raven) for causing the headmaster’s death. Of course, while he was distracted, Ozpin jumped and ran down the cliff himself to catch Qrow and jammed his cane into the cliff to bring them into a stop. After some obligatory yelling at each other for being dumb (Qrow yelling at Ozpin for risking his life and Ozpin arguing that Qrow is his responsiblity and student), Qrow couldn’t help but noticed how weird it was for someone to worry about him and how happy Ozpin was that Qrow was safe.
When they both calmed down enough for Qrow to help get Ozpin’s scroll to call for help, Ozpin noticed that Qrow was amazed at how beautiful the scenery was, at a height most people don’t get to see. Despite being in a tense situation where they have a very high chance of death, Qrow was the most relaxed and happiest Ozpin had ever seen. This brought back Ozpin to his own nostalgia of embracing the sky again and was the seeds to him eventually gifting Qrow the power to transform into a Crow.
On Qrow’s side, he was re-evaluating his own life and how being at Beacon was full of annoying things but also many exciting new things in just his first few days! The Headmaster Ozpin especially caught his eye when he saw his cheerful smile after almost falling to their deaths. In this view, Qrow’s image of Ozpin still didn’t match up exactly right, but this happy version of him helped smoothed the feeling of wrongness out of his mind. He was also amazed by how Ozpin didn’t mind Qrow’s bad luck and how he was able to defend and save them both.
After they were both rescued and Ozpin reassured the staff it was nobodies’s fault, just the cliff structural integrity, he collapses from aura exhaustion and his weak body made things worse. This made Qrow fuss over him years later, but Qrow was also the one who snuck Ozpin out of Beacon on short trips when he saw how Ozpin wasn’t let out of the Vale very often due to health and assassin reasons.
A/N: This took about the whole day (?) to edit when it was originally supposed to be 3 hours but that was scrapped when I wanted to color the eyes but that didn’t look right so I colored the background and you can see what happened from there. Then it took about another 2~ hours to write this and make it readable... Especially on mobile/tablet app. (=w=;;;)
The general feeling I wanted to convey was that Ozpin cares about Qrow and Qrow makes him feel alive and happy again. Qrow at this age to the future is amazed that anyone would want to be around him and really feels like Ozpin should be happy more often than mysterious.
However, after Summer’s death, Qrow spent less time with Ozpin to take care of the girls and they could only support each other from afar; causing Qrow to unconsciously put Opzin on a pedestal and Ozpin to hesitate in sharing secrets/burdens. After Volume 6, the two are struggling to reconcile after Qrow’s words and Ozpin’s secrets. It was only recently that they have started to rebuild their bond that BB!Oz came into existence, allowing more time for Qrow to start wondering about Ozpin’s childhood and the beginning of revealing what happened to Ozpin to change him into the headmaster figure Qrow knew most of his life (Qrow still doesn’t know that Ozpin is the same Fanus who he thinks was an imaginary friend he imagined).

Hello could you do headcanon with Tsukki, Oikawa, Shirabu and Goshiki gf is astrology nerd?
A/N: Hi Anon! THANK YOU FOR MY FIRST ASK
Astrology (noun) the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world.
Oikawa Tooru:
Oikawa is the epitome of astronomy nerd, and he is over the moon (hahaha I’m so funny) when he finds out you share his love of the stars, albeit in a slightly different way
Appreciates an S/O who can name so many constellations and other celestial bodies
Probably first noticed you because you were rambling about starts—once he heard you rambling about the stars his interest was piqued
He probably ends up hanging outside your classroom during breaks and lunches to listen to you read your friend’s horoscopes and give them advice based on their star signs
When you notice Oikawa Tooru of all people lingering around all the time, you’re shocked to say the least. You approached him one lunch break and offered to read his horoscope. That was the start of your friendship (read flirtationship)
Tooru probably asked you out on the day of a significant celestial event related to romance —probably when Venus moves into its shadow (according to my questionable research this is related to changes in love/romance). He did a lot of research/late night googling to figure out what day would be perfect to ask you for a date. You find this incredibly sweet and thoughtful (Oikawa is a soft nerdy boy ok, fight me.)
100% will try to rope you into his alien obsession (much to his friends’ dismay). A chill date night involves a marathon of alien movies with questionable special effects
Will gladly take you on frequent stargazing dates and point out the constellations and other features of the night sky that you frequently obsess over
You two probably have a shared calendar on your phones with all the important celestial events marked in big bold letters. You guys have the timing down to the exact MINUTE the events start
Has gotten in trouble multiple times for rooftop dates at your place (please don’t actually go on the roof it’s dangerous)
Probably gets hooked on checking horoscope websites and will always remember to tear out or mark the weekly/monthly horoscope pages in magazines to save for you
During the supermoon triple event you guys bought a ton of snacks and food and had a midnight picnic in the park
In general two space nerds in love can never go wrong (unless you’re the volleyball team—in that case two space nerds = double the suffering, but they all still appreciate the captain’s girlfriend anyways because she makes him a lot less broody/harsh on himself and helps him focus on the brighter things in life)
Tsukishima Kei:
When you first start dating he doesn’t really know that you are into astrology—he knows you can name the zodiac constellations from memory, but he just chalks it up to you being a space nerd (which he is 100% okay with)
Later though, when he starts staying over at your place more often, he starts noticing little things, like the daily horoscope notifications on your phone and the different astrology books that are tucked into your shelves
He ends up lurking around your classroom during a break and overhears you talking about your poor horoscope reading of the day with your friends. Tsukki is a cynic, so when he first hears you talking about horoscopes with your classmates he scoffs to himself
Is confused as to why you invest so much of your time obsessing over weekly/daily horoscopes and other celestial events. He’s more of the “I’ll make things happen” kind of guy
Despite his initial doubt, he finds you super adorable whenever your rant/go tirades about astrology (he may have secretly googled information about astrology so he could talk to you about it…but no one need to know that)
He ends up also getting some kind of daily text subscription/app so he can read your daily horoscope. When you have an “unlucky” reading or some kind of not so great prediction he somehow always shows up to school with your lucky item (that he claims he “found” laying around in his house)
Ok but Tsukki rlly?? Who has a small penguin plush just “laying around.” I see you boi you are actually a little caring floofball under that sassy exterior
Whenever he has a game you always make sure to give him his lucky item for the day before he goes onto the court. He makes sure that the item is always on the bench where you can see it.
You can probably convince him to take you stargazing a few times during the school day. Just talk to him after a game — he’s all tired and will be more likely to agree ;)
Will get annoyed when the other boys on the team ask you for their horoscope — you’re his girlfriend, not the team’s astrological consultant (aka. Jealous sassy crow)
Shirabu
So he is one of the few players who didn’t get into Shiratorizawa on sports scholarship (you learn something new everyday) and has to keep up his grades in addition to being a regular
Poor boy is often swamped with work and v v stressed out with time
You try to lighten his spirits by sending fun astrology facts (ie. Did you know that those born under Taurus are expected to have a restful day today? I hope you don’t stress out too much and sleep early today!)
He loves getting these cute little texts from you—in fact he just finds your love of star signs adorable in general. You can go on for hours about the ways constellations, planets and other celestial bodies are predictors of things to come
When he is free (usually after they win a tournament) he likes to take you on stargazing dates. Sometimes you’ll also go to a temple to get your fortune told (not sure if this is zodiac/astrology based if any one can let me know that would be great)
Will ask you if he can keep both his and your lucky items on game days because having you indirectly gives him lucky (hnng I love sweet Shirabu)
Will comfort you if you have an unlucky horoscope for the day. He points out that it can’t be that bad because he can cancel out your bad luck with his good fortune
Get’s pretty annoyed when the other volleyball team guys bug you for their horoscopes. Astrology is kind of “your” thing—it’s something that you guys share together as a couple. Although he begrudgingly accepts that the team will now forever be asking you about the stars after seeing your excitement that you can talk to more people about their star signs
Doesn’t subscribe to any horoscopes or get an apps, but he knows that you’ll always forward him his horoscope for the day
Goshiki Tsutomu
Little eagle birb is confused??? What is a horoscope? What is a Leo??? What??? (This boy has no life outside of volleyball pls help him)
very very curious and will constantly ask you questions. You, of course, are more than happy to spend your dates and walks back home talking about your passion
He always walks with you to school and will always as for his daily horoscope on the way, so you make it a habit to check both your and his horoscopes everyday before breakfast
When he gets an unlucky/bad horoscope for the day, this boy gets very upset. You often have convince him that an unlucky reading doesn’t guarantee a bad day—he just has to be more careful and pay attention to what the reading said to avoid
He probably goes all out to learn more about astrology, will probably buy a bajillion astrology books, star charts, spend late nights online, get horoscope apps etc. He genuinely wants to get to know you better, including your passion for astrology
Often brags about your passion to the team, inevitably you befriend most of the team and now like every volleyball player will ask you for their daily horoscope whenever they see you
Goshiki will be super extra on game days and make everyone on the team (or at least the regulars) get their lucky item for the day. You find this endearing/entertaining (once the collection of items on the court included a pair of diving flippers, a kappa statue, a potted cactus and dried shitake mushrooms)
Overall Goshiki is an excited bf and probably becomes as much of an astrology geek as you

Modern Pokemon Go Au, anyone?  (*-_-) I can’t believe I forgot this was in my drafts, oops.
Marco gets Pokemon GO downloaded onto his phone three hours after midnight the night it comes out while he asleep.
He wakes up to a post it note on his screen and 20% battery, already knowing it’s Ace’s fault.
‘That Pokémon game that I’ve been waiting for finally came out, but my phone doesn’t support it. :(.’ Ace’s scrawl is even harder to read early in the morning. ‘Our starter is Charmander.’
Marco blinks slowly at the note and understands less than he normally does. Instead, he stumbles to the bathroom to get ready for work, putting the game out of his mind until he’s at the office.
The start-up music is loud, enough so that Marco slaps his hand over the speakers and shakes his head as he thumbs down the volume. He blinks at the tiny person that appears on screen, his head tipped to the side.
The username isn’t AceOspades like Ace normally uses in games, the name FireBirb in the corner by the bar that measured how far away from the next level they were.
Marco backs out the app and pulls up messenger, hoping to get up message to Ace before he went to sleep.
'FireBirb?’
'Fire for me and Birb for you.’ Ace answers almost instantly. 'We are the mighty FireBirb.’
Marco rolls his eyes and goes back in, prodding a button that pulls up the list of Pokémon that Ace had caught the night before.
The highest level is 1350 and it belongs to a fire unicorn named Striker. Beside it is a fire cat, maybe a fox, called Flareon only a hundred points under that. The weakest is a fire lizard with 55 called Phoenix.
He scrolls through the fifty-something Pokémon that Ace caught in the course of the night, a disproportionate amount of them were something that Marco would use the word fire to describe.
Marco jolts when his phone buzzes, bouncing in horror and exiting back to the map to find a fire dog, like the one that Ace had named Stephan, on the map before him. He taps and startles when it appears closer and he throws the balls that appear at the bottom of the screen and catches it. Marco grins.
There’s a strange thing at the front of the building in yellow, Marco taps it and blinks as he appears to get himself in the middle of something, tapping at the screen until he wins. When he gets back to the map, the things is gray and empty, he taps it again and next thing he knows the thing belongs to him?
“Morning,” Izo says breezing past only half an hour late, “Has Pops come in yet?”
“No.” Marco answers as a purple rat looking thing appears on screen. “Neither has Thatch. Or Curiel.”
Izo sighs, “Thatch is always late,” He pulls out his own phone and starts doing something. “Ugh.”
“Ugh?”
“The gym at the office is held by Valor.” Izo pulls a face. “Who is FireBirb?”
Marco blinks, already knowing what he has to do, “We have a gym?”
“In the Pokémon GO app,” Izo answers, “We have a gym and two convenient PokeStops. Played a bit last night.”
“That’s what Ace downloaded onto my phone.” Marco says slowly.
Izo laughs, “Ace needs to get a new phone.”
-
Ace lounges over Marco’s bed, phone in his hand and Pokémon music loud in Marco’s room. His feet kicking back and forth.
“Sabo said that FireBirb took over the gym at your work,” Ace says going through everything that Marco caught at work. “Good job.”
“I didn’t know what I was doing. I just tapped the screen. FireBirb?”
Ace hums, “Yeah. Normally you don’t play any of the games that I play, so I figured it wouldn’t be cool to use my personal username and you were sleeping. So the FireBirb came to life.”
“You’re ridiculous. And a fox appeared.”
“Eebee!” Ace shouts tapping horrified and relaxing only after it was caught. “I need all the Eebees, Marco.”
“Eebees?”
Ace nods, “E-e-v-e-e. Eebee.”
“Wouldn’t that be Eevee?”
“Shush, they are Eebees. They are cute little Eebees, Marco, the cutest.” Ace insists.
Marco rolls his eyes, “ So Eebees. Why do you need all the Eebees?”
Ace bounces upright on the bed, eyes glowing, “The Eebee, Marco, is the very best Pokémon to have because it will evolve into any of three Pokémon.”
“Wait, what’s evolving?”
“Most Pokémon can change into other Pokémon,” Ace pulls up Flareon. “This was once an innocent Eebee.”
Huh, Marco tilts his head to the side and stares at it, the Eevee was pretty cool.
“And in later games, the Eebee gained five more evolutions. But don’t worry about them,” Ace assures. “They aren’t in the game.”
Marco nods and understands nothing.
-
Pokémon is fun, for all that Marco isn’t too sure about what happens in the game. It doesn’t always make much sense but it isn’t the worst time.
Besides, it means that Ace is around more and Marco can get behind that.
“FireBirb is going down today!” Izo declares throwing his fist up. “Today, I, Flintlock, shall take this gym!”
Marco ignores Izo’s shouts and checks the paperwork in his inbox. There’s a file that Pops wants double checked for errors before they send it to the customer.
“No!” Thatch shouts rolling his chair into the walk space between Marco and Izo’s cubicles. “Team Mystic can’t take down this menace. I, seachef, will lay claim to this gym."
Marco rolls his eyes and checks the gym curiously. The Flareon in the gym is over 1000 cp and there's a second one that Ace set up that's bordering on 2000 that he can use to wipe them out with or put in. The gym won't leave his hands.
He wins.
He doesn't even have to change the Flareons out. Which is nice. There's another gym down by Ace's station that he wanted to take over.
'How r the kids' Ace texts later after both Izo and Thatch have lost horribly.
It’s a joke of a sentence, something said for a laugh, but it makes Marco’s heart clench and something warm curl in his chest.
‘Fine, we still own the gym.’
‘My eebees?’
Marco smiles, taking the time to take a snapshot of the Eevees and send them to him, having caught two more of them because of the Poke-stop that is just at the edge of his building and his character is well within the range of. It’s kept well lured by the Pizza place that it represents.
‘EEBEES!’ Ace exclaims. ‘Look at all of them!’
‘They’re fine,’
Ace sends him a text that’s full of random letters and symbols, as if he tapped random buttons and then hit send.
‘Yes, they’ll be ready to go when you get home dear.’
‘Thks Darling!’
Marco drops his phone onto his desk and groans.
~
“Kids!” Ace shouts taking Marco’s phone before he’s gotten through the door. “How are you, babies?”
“I evolved the weird crab, now it is a bigger, weirder crab,” Marco says tugging off his shoes and dropping his sweater over the back of the couch.
Ace bounces excitedly, “Aw, one of you grew up!”
“I don’t think they can understand you,” Marco resists the urge to call Ace sweetheart because that would be going too far.
“Don’t listen to him, dad’s just cranky because he’s been at work all day.”
Marco bites the inside of his cheek, “Hungry?”
“I am ashamed that you even thought to ask that,” Ace returns sliding Marco’s phone into his back pocket. “How was your day?”
“Long, Izo tried to take over our gym and I beat them horribly, you?”
Ace slides into one of the stools at the breakfast nook, “Slept, harassed Luffy into doing the dishes, actually saw Sabo while he was also awake. Worried about our children.”
Marco ignores the flutter of his heart, the butterflies in his stomach as they eat and Ace launches into some story about something. Marco misses out on the point of it and doesn’t bother to ask.
“I love your bed,” Ace groans, flopping down on it as Marco moves to his desk, dishes in the dishwasher and kitchen cleaned. “It’s the best.”
“Shoes!” Marco warns, turning to catch Ace spread out over his sheets and turning to his computer quickly.
It’s Ace’s fault, all of this because now Marco is imagining them as married and he can’t. He’s spent years shoving aside this stupid crush and he won’t have this ruined because of a joking comment.
~
Ace frowns at Marco’s phone, the Poke-stops closest to the station are all lured and there’s plenty of Pokemon around to keep him from going crazy since his other duties are done.
“You okay?” Jiru asks, dropping into a seat. “Brought you dinner, courtesy of Thatch.”
“Thanks,” Ace grins, “I’m good. Just running on less sleep than normal, I wanted to see Sabo today, you know?”
Jiru laughs, “That’s what you get for working such polar opposite work hours. He’s still working for that Politician, ain’t he?”
“Yeah, Lu’s dad.”
“That is not a tired face, however, I would know I have more siblings than you have fingers. That’s a mooning face.” Jiru states with the ease of a man who knows he is right. “Tell me.”
“I might have made a joke about family, or about us being together, and he played along.”
Jiru stares at him, “You are adorable. That is adorable. I need to tell Marco about this,” Ace pales. “Oh,” Jiru grins, looking far too pleased with himself, “but you mean Marco, don’t you?”
“Hate you,” Ace mutters. “Should ban you from the station.”
“You can try,” Jiru promises, “But I think you’ll break in under a week, you like the lunches too much.”
Ace doesn’t deny it, it’s not inaccurate after all.
“Are you here to harass me too? Because I’m gonna have to take my lunch and tell you to leave.”
Jiru grins, “You could, or you could let me stay and tease you about your crush.”
“It’s not a crush!” Ace shouts, ducking his head as the rest of the station glances down to them. “It’s not, He hisses softly.
“It’s not?” Jiru asks. “Then what is it?”
Ace doesn’t have an answer and Jiru doesn’t push. He waves Jiru off, staring at the screen of Marco’s phone as he waits for his shift to finish.

Marco groans when Ace bounces onto his bed, “I’m suppose to have the day off, which means sleeping in, not being woken up by you.”
“I wanted to show you what I caught at work!”
Marco holds his hand out for his phone, thumbing down the brightness and blinking sleepily at the screen as he scrolls through to look at whatever it was that Ace had caught.
He blinks, reordering the Pokemon when he catches changes to some of their names. He laughs, dragging Ace closer, grinning.
“Really?”
Ace grins hopefully, “So?”
“I think we have to date before I marry you,” Marco answers, kissing him. “But if you want, you can try again after dinner tonight?”
“It’s a date,” Ace agrees, “Tonight.”
“Tonight. Now let me sleep, some of us are still tired,” Marco yawns throwing a blanket over Ace’s face.
“I’m taking the kids for the morning!” Ace laughs taking Marco’s phone as he rolls off the bed. “Expect them back by noon!”
“They better be well rested!” Marco shouts after him. “I don’t want to have to deal with cranky kids!”
Ace shouts something affirmative back as Marco sighs and stares at the wall of his room. There was no way he was getting back to sleep anytime soon.
