Finally, all the Kars in one garage!!

I wanted to finish this BEFORE art fight and I was mostly done BEFORE artfight but unfortunately things like sleep got in the way. I can now focus all my power on my ATTACKS now !!!!!!!!

Here’s a look at the types/regional ethnicities of kar out there, same with my Rossetian one. The names are after the most populous tribal group from that region. Like with the Rossetian one, while these very generally represent the features of the group, things like face shape and patterns/colors get hybridized and switched around all the time since these groups mix often. So this is more of a reference to what things I (or you?) could play around with when drawing a kar.

Some extremely basic info:

*Terribly generalized, “Drah” refers to any Prectikar with straight tusks (since this was the name of the group first contacted by Cerest, any similar-looking group was referred to under the same umbrella term. It’s not accurate, but it is how it is.) For similar reasons, “Leki” is for any kar with downward curving tusks and who changes color during the courtship season. As for the individual groups names, kinda just messed around with it.

Like the Rossetian one, the smaller orbs show different variations within a general type. I also put in the general face pattern and nose/bare skin colors (eye color varies wildly, yellow is the most common). No one tribe is guaranteed to all look like the example group shown (like I said, they mix it up all the time,) natural selection did its job in what patterns generally work in each area they’re from, but over time they’ve been selected for display/looks as well.

Regions of origin (names simplified)

Drah originate from high to mid-land temperate grasslands regions and areas with shrubbery/sparse trees (harsh seasonal changes.) (they can be found in colder , more densely forested areas too)

‘Jell came from the more Savannah-like grasslands where it’s warmer (wet/dry seasonal changes rather than winter/summer). Fun fact, the stripes on their neck are the most visible, their body is mostly one color!

Jaws came from temperate/southern forested regions.

Kruah came from the arctic (though the current population representing this group is made up of descents of the displaced ‘true’ kruah, who looked different than this. Basically just longer tusks, no patterns, and denser fuzz).

Ors and Ews were from the steppe/taiga regions (though Ews strayed into Drah regions as well.)

Roos were found along tropical jungle coasts

Leki and Taragg were from southern islands

This is all last tense because the kar that I focus on are the guys stuck on that stupid planet where there is none of this. However, like Kixeli, prectikar groups tend to gravitate towards areas resembling their homelands.

For some reason I didnt do the previous region-explaining thing with the rossetians so here’s that:

Bict home territory was the temperate/colder western region of their homeplanet with lots of old volcanic tunnels and mountainous terrain. (Not a lot of tree-type vegetation, but lots of low shrubbery)

Scaulos were east along the coast, where it was hotter, had a lot more hot springs/geological activity, and sparser vegetation.

The vachaeions were from the very hot southern region, where it was mostly desert/savannah-like terrain. They beat the heat by living below in the rocks.

The gymatian are from the valley middle ground between the coasts, where there was a warmer climate and denser forests,

Fennils are from the northern prairie, with few tunnels and harsher winters.

Characters (Part Two)

Dick Grayson

Dick Grayson in White Knight is mostly just an idiot and very volatile.

He literally runs into a destroying building and cares more about taking down criminals than making sure no civilians die. Not that this would make this better but he doesn’t even have a specific bone to pick with any of these villains in this universe. He's just angry™

Half the time on panel it's for him to get angry at Bruce and Babs to tell him he’s being ridiculous and ungrateful. Anytime Dick wants to yell or get his frustration out on Bruce, he gets chewed out about it. Even when it's like "let's stop him from doing all the destruction” Babs tells him that he shouldn’t have even had an opinion because Bruce “gave him everything”.

Dick is literally written to be inherently and constantly in the debt of Bruce as his father. A father that doesn’t really even seem to care about him that much, all things considered.

Meanwhile, Bruce  literally tells Harley he would “do anything to have what you do” referring to her biological children.

Bruce may call Dick his son sometimes in White Knight but it's all performative. Bruce would trade him away in a heartbeat for tiny little Harley Quinn's <3

In Dicks Big Moment in Book 2, he’s able to talk Bruce out of murdering Arazel, which actually doesn’t really work because Bruce does end up cutting his artery (but eventually not killing him which is good (if you remember this from part 1 of this meta)), but after two books explaining how Bruce and Dick aren’t close it rings hollow, and the only thing really given it meaning is your understanding of mainline comics. When we get to this point in White Knight, Bruce has repeatedly neglected to call Dick his family, trust him, or say anything positive about him.

Dick becomes a fascist cop by book 3 but idk im so numb i don't even care anymore

To add on to the writing of Dick, White Knight also changes his backstory and makes him the second Robin. This changes a lot of the mythos around Dick - a lot of how he turns out is because he is the eldest child, because Bruce projected on him first. Even creating the name Robin is important because it's about paying homage to his family at the circus. 

You might be wondering why Sean reworked this incredibly important part of Dick’s backstory. There’s got to be some sort of payoff right? Is it a chance to explore exciting new dynamics? Gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be the eldest son? No.

Do you know who knows the order of the Robins better than Sean Murphy, an actual Batman writer? TWELVE-YEAR OLDS ON WATTPAD. 

His spin on Dick being the second Robin involves him stealing Robin from Jason for his circus act. Which is dumb for thematic reasons, but also for secret identity reasons?? Why would you get a kid whose stage name is Robin and make him be Robin and expect people not to notice??

(Batman: Beyond the White Knight )

He also has Bruce specifically recruit Dick to be Robin because that’s his stage name. Which doesn’t make sense as a recruiting strategy for any job ever? You aren’t going to recruit people for things based on what they like and perform as?? It also takes all the autonomy out of Dick’s decision to be Robin and makes Bruce look really really bad for poaching this random kid.

So obviously he's not a fan of the comics or the bat family. What is he a fan of?

Sexy Joker

Now, I hear what you're thinking. Why would a person who doesn't care about Batman characters enough to have actually read the source material want to write a Batman comic? The answer is of course as in all things, sexy joker.

Also in the third one Bruce and Harley Quinn are married.There’s your love triangle. I'm not reading the third one. I refuse.

Knowing this, the scenes where Joker grows muscles or just shows up to a fight shirtless for literally no reason starts to make sense. 

The relationship between Batman and the Joker is actually the real priority of this book, which either on purpose, or by accident, helps to invalidate a lot of the core themes of Batman.

For example, the way the toxic romantic relationships are put on a pedestal in this comic - Harley Quinn always believing in the Joker and that being right, the tension between Bruce and Joker, all of this can be explained by having this one singular goal; to make the Joker sexy and to ignore all the implications behind it.

Meanwhile on the family side, this focus on Joker seems to suggest romantic and blood relations will always triumph over adopted family or friendship. All Dick does is yell at Bruce for slights we are never shown and run away and come back to lukewarm apologies. 

Dick is also the first to give up on Bruce - before Babs - when he’s running around doing collateral damage early in book one. The climax of both books is the Joker solving problems with Bruce, never his well trained allies he’s been working with since day one.

 Duke barely has a relationship with any of the cast other than the Joker. Jason (the first and most beloved son apparently) gets tortured by the joker for Bruce’s identity because the joker was self conscious that Jason was more important for Bruce then he was. He shouldn't have bothered.

Jason gives away Bruce’s in the same words he cuts ties with Bruce forever. He’s not strong enough to keep Batman's identity to himself - he doesn't have enough love to want to go back to Bruce after suffering under his name.

Faking Jason's death acts as a way to hurt Bruce, yes, but also as a way for the Joker to prove to himself that what he and Batman have is more than what Bruce will have with his family. As Jason leaves Bruce of his own volition, Joker will never leave Batman’s orbit.

Jason’s death in the comics has major impacts throughout the entire bat family's lives. But in this comic - one where Bruce is ready to kill for an evil ancestor but not a son, where Jason readily leaves Bruce and where familial loyalty is not a priority, Jasons’s death, or I guess “fake death” rings so hollow. Bruce’s romantic relationships, are written with much more care and are given much more importance in the text.

The theme of this seems to be that when people love each other romantically, no matter how toxic the relationship is - that's true love. Even if people want to people want to tear each other apart they are destined to come back together again and again. Meanwhile sons will abandon you when it gets hard and the love of family is not enough to bring people back. Evidenced by how quickly Batman forgives the Joker and Harley for Jason’s death but isn’t really seen mourning Jason to the same level - and the way that Jason abandoned Bruce and joker and Harley and Bruce never abandon each other.

It's even in the way that Bruce explicitly tells Harley she wishes he had what she has - biological children.

It feels incredibly sad that Murphy took the Batman franchise: one built on found family, that is about losing a family and gaining another, where the key characters and key because of their platonic relationships with each other, and threw it all away because he though joker/batman/harley quinn was sexy.

The thing is that Murphy seems to have an understanding that family should be important. He has explicit scenes with Babs and Dick where he says that they are the most important thing to him. But as mentioned before the words ring so hollow without any actions to back them up, like Bruce thinks if he says it, it's enough.

In the comic where family never sticks together, problems are never solved with family but instead with weird Harley-Joker romantic tension and scenes like the one above, all the posturing Murphy puts in relation to found family feels incredibly empty. Babs, Duke and Dick and the rest of the nonexistent bat family are definitely out of character which contributes to their characters and relationships feeling hollow.

Circling back to the whole Sexy Joker is the whole reason that White Knight was written, suddenly a whole lot of things start making sense. Everyone is out of character because Sean Murphy could not give a shit about anyone else. Biological family is the most important because the Jatman Love Babies. Harley Quinn has to forgive her abuser because how else would they all fuck? The police brutality…. Yeah… that one is still a mystery to me. 

Conclusion

White Knight is the worst possible Batman taken by a person who knows so little about the batman mythos that they can't remember the order of robins, never read a Duke comic, thinks Babsgirl is canon and probably doesn't even know Cass exists. The first one touches on like batman causes structural damage bc of his batmobiles and the solution is to literally MILITARIZE the police. The second one tries to touch on wealth and the effects on the past and found family, but implies biological family is better and adopted family is flawed and so carelessly brushes past the implications it sets for wealth. It's honestly so jarring to see an author set things up and just. so. blatantly not understand anything they are saying? So much so that their message ends up being a complete 180 what the initial message seems to set up. It feels almost post ironic until you realize the sexy joker agenda.

Separate from the characterization and the themes, this comic is somehow ableist, racist, classist and incredibly insensitive to domestic abuse survivors while also somehow touting the fact that it's so progressive while doing the receiving due to a fundamental ignorance of every issue it touches on. 

I think part of my problem with this comic is that the themes that are set up are interesting! I would read a nuanced take on institutionalization or over militarization in relation to Batman comics. In addition, Sean Murphy is a good storyteller, he knows how to set up a mystery and have good pacing and build up interest. There are some good, interesting moments in white knight, but they are overshadowed by all the problems, which are everywhere and inherent to the series.

 As it exists though, white knight gives a middle finger to the themes it attempts the tackle and the characters it mangles. My esteemed friend @2nagi said it best: “what's with all this failed self-contradictory social commentary. why is there ableism and victim-blaming in there. he wanted clown sex why did he not just write clown sex. i think maybe murphy should have just written full-on joker erotica instead. It would have been more narratively consistent than this mess. and truer to his vision too”.

CHARACTER STORY 1: eastward of eden

It is true that Artemis has long held resentment towards their older sister and past caretaker, Lilith. As a child, Artemis was refused of many things — including choosing their own clothes, partaking in certain activities, and having their own privacy. There wasn’t much they were allowed to do, and even the hobbies they enjoyed ended up ruined by Lilith’s excitement and pushy nature.

To this day, Lilith is unaware of the mental anguish she caused her siblings over the course of their entire childhood. However, in her own eyes, she has done no such thing, and has succeeded at being a “mother.”

Many citizens have told her, “My, you exercise much control over them,” and yet, she has failed to see the error in her ways. It is not entirely her fault, as she was forced into the role of a mother when she wasn’t ready for such a task. Even though she failed in many aspects of her parenting skills, there was one thing she has always truly succeeded at: caring deeply for her family.

However, no amount of love could undo the years of fighting and hurtful words thrown around between the siblings.

CHARACTER STORY 2: legacy

Long ago, in the days of yore, the archaic land of Mondstadt had been ruled by a monarch older than Decarabian. Her rule was rumored to last longer than his, and her birth is now nothing but scattered fragments along the wind.

When the Queen of the North Wind descended and claimed Mondstadt as her home, a mighty kingdom formed under her feet. Small huts grew to larger, firmer homes, and gargantuan cathedrals made of marble were erected in her honor. Trumpets blew, the wind howled, snow fell, and mountains as high as the heavens towered above humanity.

In later years, the prospering kingdom of Cairnfelle was officially born. Serving as a haven for travelers and poets alike, the kingdom sang with energy as it thrived under Queen Catalina’s guiding hand. The god of memories was exceptionally gentle, with a kind and compassionate heart that moved even the most stoic-faced men to tears. Her words were wise, her complexion glowing, and her promises true.

Cairnfelle, as much as it prospered, gained an enemy from a distant land. With no choice but to face the beast she prodded, the Queen set out to befriend the raging phoenix that had enough of her games. Ever the charming soul, the Queen did not have to do much to make the phoenix bow to her every whim, and before the citizens of Cairnfelle had the chance to acclimate to the visitor, the two were to be wed.

There is not much to say for the years in between the joining of two god kings and the fall of Cairnfelle, but this: Four inexplicably brave and virtuous souls were born from the two gods — four demigod knights who carved the way for the future of Mondstadt: The Four Archangels.

The Blair Family — the origin of the Fröhlichs, is no longer the raging flame of life it had once been, but a snuffed out ember of its former glory.

Only in passing on the titles of the Four Archangel Knights can the present day Fröhlich family hold tight to what was once a name feared and adored by all.

CHARACTER STORY 3: composition

Many questions have arisen over the years; all pertaining to a certain facet of Artemis’ composition.

“Is it a curse?” They’ve inquired, only to wind up receiving a simple, “I’m not even sure myself!”

However, that it is a small white lie they’ve grown to tell. In fact, Artemis is very much aware of the reason why they consistently find themselves on the brink of death and luckily make it out alive. It is because of the unique composition their ancestor, Lowen, was made of: pure and unbridled wrath.

The story goes as such: In the days of yore, when gods and monsters still yet walked the earth, a beast born of flame and rage took flight. They seared their enemies and allies alike, and roused the hearts of warriors all across Natlan. They utterly refused to lay their past life to rest. In doing so, they made a promise to their newfound family. The wrath that lived inside them was nothing but a blessing, and deserved to be passed on through their children, and future generations. And so, the endless wrath that boiled in their veins was passed on — consuming the lives of their children, and overtaking the brilliant flames that became their descendants.

To be a god’s descendant has always been an honor in the Fröhlich family line… Yet, Artemis — like the direct children of the god of wrath — see it as naught but a curse; For what blessing could bring about destruction and the devastation of any living being in one’s wake.

VISION STORY:

The blistering pyro vision attached to Artemis’ belt was said to be a gift from the gods, and maybe even a gift from the long gone god of wrath themselves.

What else are visions besides gifts from the gods? A tool to wield, and yet another curse Artemis must deal with.

At the young age of eleven, Artemis was sent out on their first escorting mission. It was their first mission given to them by Grand Master Varka, who was elated to test their strength and endurance. Not many were willing to accept an escort from a child — as was the case with the Fontainian aristocrat Artemis was talking their ear off to. However, the man said nothing, as the child’s directional skills were second to none. It was only when they hit a bump in the road that the man questioned Artemis’ capabilities as a knight.

“I should’ve known better than to trust a child!” He yelled, waving his fist in the air as he pushed them aside and ran off ahead by himself in the rain, leaving the young Artemis to fend for themselves amidst a hoard of abyssal monsters.

Although panic was steadily rising throughout their body, they forced themself forward — slashing at every monster with a shaky grip on their sword. The rain poured, sagging their clothes, and dragging their arms down to the dirt. The grip on their sword slipped, as did their footing, and they tumbled to the hard ground with a rough clash.

Their shoulder-piece scratched the bridge of their nose on the way down, and a thick line of blood began to spill from the open wound. A rifthound drew closer, baring its teeth and snapping its jaw as its claws outstretched, striking Artemis across the head. A clap of thunder sounded, and amidst the ringing in their ears, Artemis felt the weight of ten large wooden planks collapse on their back.

Even so, they shakily grabbed their sword, their nails digging into the wet earth, and began to stand. Their blood boiled as a wrath they were only warned about once crept up to the surface, prickling along their skin until it caved inwards, tugging at their ribcage and burning against their racing heart.

In a flash of white and gold, the hoard of rifthounds lay motionless on the grass, their bodies turning to dust as Artemis panted heavily. The wrath inside their veins bubbled, and their vision turned red. It was all consuming. It was destructive, and it was total annihilation. They struck down every monster seeping from an abyssal pylon until finally, they tore the pylon in half with nothing but their blade and their bare hands.

The rain continued to fall as they dropped their sword and collapsed to the ground in a heap of sore limbs and bloodied grass. Their eyes fell close for a moment — at least, what felt like a moment ��� and when they opened, a shining vision sat amongst the pool of blood left behind by their foes.

Indeed. The god of wrath, whose curse ran rampant in their veins, rewarded them with yet another “gift.”

• hobbies: When they are home in Dornman Port enjoying their days off, they like to wind down by practicing the art of crochet. Not only is it soothing to sit by a windowsill while the afternoon breeze filters into their bedroom, it is also a hobby their late mother held dear. By partaking in this hobby, they feel closer to their mother, and can preserve her memory longer. Another hobby is sports. Artemis can often be found playing with the kids in the port during vacations.

• beliefs: The Fröhlich family have always dedicated their lives to the protection of Mondstadt, and hold a firm worship to a god king who has long been dead. Although they have accepted Barbatos as their new savior, they still hold their original god close to their hearts. Artemis has naturally followed this belief and considers their worship of the god of memories their religion. During rough times, they find solace in a temple far north and meditate there for as long as they deem necessary. Once a month, they offer up a few of their most important memories— a ritual that has been passed down in the Fröhlich family for over 3000 years.

(This act of offering up memories is akin to the way some worshippers will offer animal sacrifices to the god they serve.)

• about — fate: Artemis is a firm believer that fate will guide the worthy and ultimately lead everyone onto the path they are destined to walk. However, they do not include the meddling of gods and higher beings into this equation. They believe that fate is its own entity and not dictated by the Archons nor Celestia. It acts of its own accord, and the gods are mere victims of fate, as well. Not even Celestia will be spared.

• about — death: Artemis believes that death is a stepping stone to a greater afterlife. Akin to their many family members, they believe that life is temporary, and death is eternal. When one dies, they are not truly dead; for they are shedding their mortal shell and accepting their true form, which is the soul. The soul will live on forever in the afterlife, while the physical body is nothing more than a temporary shell to house said soul. With this belief, the Fröhlich family does not fear death, but welcomes it with open arms— greeting it like an old friend.

hm. i know i talked about drawing more and expanding on my kh ocs after finals, but i seem to have hit a creative rut. and unfortunately become extremely hyperfixated on trolls

okay ive got to get this post out before april fools day so everyone knows this is important and serious information. i believe ive solved a mystery that i might have been the only person on earth who ever cared about and im taking you with me on this journey

For the uninitiated (aka people who have never looked at my blog in their whole life). there is this character called bido from fullmetal alchemist. hes greeds friend and goon and he shows up in like 5 chapters. he looks like this

and if youve never seen him before you are going to be baffled to find out that a large percentage of people who even bother remembering him seem to genuinely believe that he is a young child. and this goes beyond your regular fandom infantilization. i have had people comment on my very own posts, telling me "but wait, i thought bido was a kid".

for years i did not know how this misconception was even possible (look at him), let alone get so widespread, but that might be because the chiefest example of it exists... in the scanlation thats up on most "read free manga" websites. Aka; the one most people these days are reading. perhaps this is the mother of all other bido-child-takes. we may not ever know.

but either way, that scanlation team apparently decided at some point in their workflow, that not ONLY was bido a kid, but it made sense to have an ACTUAL kid* (*15-year-old) call him one. which at that point just feels like rubbing salt in the wound like come on

anyway the first time i checked the original dialogue to compare, i didnt know much japanese, but i was still pretty confident there was zero basis for the mistranslation. this scenes official translation makes no reference to bidos age, and aside from the obvious factor of "are you fucking serious just look at him", there was an ACTUAL reference to his age in the japanese dialogue of an earlier chapter; alphonse calls him "ojisan". which... surely the scanlation team would have seen. if they were translating the manga. but i guess it would be easy to forget a chapter you read that long ago if you arent similarly enamored of every detail regarding one of the least present background characters

Still. it seems like such a weird and out of nowhere choice to make and there didnt seem to be any reason for it. even replacing dialogue with lord of the rings quotes has a clear and almost understandable motivation (hubristically riding the coattails of sam and frodos legendary romance). so WHY did they just suddenly up and decide this bald middle aged man was some kind of precocious Crime Baby.

well in the past couple years i have learned a little bit more japanese. & since last night i think i have found the answer.

heres the original dialogue again, and then here it is simplified for one of the official video games.

"ビドーとやらが言ってた事も", aka, "and the stuff we heard bido say".

"言ってた事も", pronounced "いってたことも", aka "itteta koto mo".

Except. if you arent reading too closely, or your image quality sucks, and you mistake the と (to) for a ど (do).

i cannot stress this enough. the kanji for "koto" is right there on the page. this mistake would only happen if somebody was ONLY looking at the furigana and not even doing a good job of that. how did they get it this wrong. how did nobody second guess it. i know that scanlators are mostly a bunch of hobbyists trying their best and i do not mean to disparage them as a collective. its just , that i think these specific ones should maybe be pelted with an assortment of overripe fruits for a little while, for giving me this hyperspecific grievance to suffer.

At least maybe now that ive solved the riddle the truth will prevail in time. tell your friends, or something

Notes: The title is a Harry Potter reference, Female Reader, italics are actions and thoughts.

Meeting a billionare's son online was probably not on your bingo yard for the year... Definitely not something that Damian would ever think would happen but alas Jason had set up a dating profile for his little brother. (No matter how old Damian got Jason always called him his little brother cuz he knew a pissed him off.)

"Online datings tragic at best or its for casual sex, no one actually finds anyone that way." Damian rolled his eyes as his brothers attempts to get him back into the dating pool.

"Come on it'll be fun and plus you're more tolerable when you have a girlfriend." Jason just wanted him to try it, Damian had been miserable for months after Raven left him.

"Plus you wont have to worry about her reading your mind and shit cause chances are she'll be human and she wont be able to do that hoodoo voodoo stuff on you."

"Fine, Todd but if this goes south..." Damian huffed unhappy, Jason had probably made it all stupid in general and was doing this as some sorta prank or something.

"Just try it." Jason handed Damian his phone back, the profile was actually set up fairly nice considering Jason did it. It was clear to Damian at that moment that Jason was serious, a little light shone through the broken state of his heart that Raven left him in.

It had been months since Raven and he really had loved her but she had looked inside and saw memories he didnt want anyone to know about...Then she threw them in his face during an argument. He still loved her but he couldnt be with someone who chastised him for his past.

Anyways, he decided to give this a try and he found the girl that he just instantly clicked with. He could talk about whatever was interesting to him and she had no issue talking back to him about it. He was talking booby traps, grave guns and how during WW2 they would make bombs out of things that look like regular objects...

Damian found himself thinking about her during the day and he found himself staying up late just so that he could talk to her. They met up once but they were both extremely nervous and that was extremely obvious, the date had got cut short because of paparazzi...you know with him being Damian Wayne and all?

The next time he met you he decided that it would be a really good idea to introduce you to his pets, pets tended to make things go a lot smoother and everyone was a lot less nervous around a pet. He was so nervous that Titus might not like you...Bat-Cow liked everyone and Alfred was a cat so he was to be expected of a cat.

You came over to Wayne Manor where he told you to meet him, gentlemanly he opened your drivers side door for you and held out his hand. Reaching out to grab his hand you got out of your car and walked behind him, your hand still in his, he was suprisingly so gentle.

"Okay so I have three pets...I'll show you the biggest and most loveable- I mean they all are really but everyone loves her." He guided you through the yard and twords the little barn area he had built especially for her and your mind wandered to curiousity.

Damian keeps your hand in his so you dont trip cause its a little slick. Good thing he told you to dress casual. He gently guided you in and you saw the big white and brown cow.

"Oh, My- Wow. Oh, she'd beautiful! And so cute." You squealed over the cow. Each word that you said made him fall deeper and deeper into the love that you was already feeling for you.

"She's got a little bat symbol around her eyes that's why we call her BatCow." Of course you could only tell you partially what the reason was cause he hadn't told you his entire family is full of vigilantes.

"Oh, my god! Thats so cute and so clever!" Your eyes lit up as he explained that, his broken heart was being quickly mended and put back together by you, it swelled at the sound of your amusement.

Damian let you feed her and pet her for a bit before asking if you wanted tonmeet his other animals. This is where he was nervous, Titus listed with little issue but of courss but he was still worried about him liking you.

Using your hand he guided you up twords the manor. Of course you were in awe cause this place was beautiful so he walked slow. Once he got in he whistled and the dog came with little issue, Titus was well trained and well behaved but he definitely made his opinions very obvious.

Titus sniffed around her to see how he felt about her, curious sniffs quickly turned to him yipping like a puppy and turning around to get his toy for you to throw.

Damian smiled, the tension in his shoulders dissipating. He had never seen him act like this with someone that he just met but he seemed extremely happy and extremely trusting of you. Considering most people say that dogs can tell what type of person someone is without even being around them for long, this was a good sign.

Titus came back with the toy and you threw it and he went and got it and brought it back, yipping and wagging his body and tail. Whilst you and Titus played Alfred the Cat decided to come out abd brush up against you.

"Was this a dream?" Damian almost asked himself cause of how well it was going.

"Awww, Hello little kitty!" You doted on both his indoor pets instantly like they were your own and his love for you just increased ten fold, he'd never let anything hurt you not now when he was so completely enthralled with you.

"That's Alfred Pennyworth the cat, he's named after the butler and this is Titus." He introduces the animals formally.

"They're just the cutest little guys." You were just so happy and they were just so adorable.

"Little guys?" He thought, he didnt even notice the smile on your face and the way you treated every animal as if it was as small as a chipmunk and how they all got equal love. If he didn't know you were the one before, he definitely knew now.

Over time Titus took on the role of protecting you the same way he protected Damian. Both you and Damian too care of Bat-Cow and Alfred came and went as he pleased, if you sat still long enough he coiled himself up ontop of you. Damian had his own little perfect family and it was even remotely complete without you.

Inanimate Insanity Episode 16 Spoilers!!!!

its been like, two days since episode 16, and people are already arguing about Mephone's age. He is a child, and this didnt come out of nowhere guys, he's always BEEN a child:

^Brian reposting art (amazing art btw<3) where Mephone is described as a CHILD and drawing in a childish way.

^Brian saying that Mephone is so young he doesn't even know how to SPELL.

Now; heres some stuff ive been hearing in argument against him being a child.

"Cobs is infantilizing him." I agree with this to a certain extent, he is acting like Mephone is a child who cant comprehend anything like an abusive parent. but thats where it stops. Children can ALSO be infantlized! But aside from that, Cobs even says; "I forgot how young you are!" Parents don't say that to their adult children, because it makes no sense unless Mephone is a child.

Secondly, why would Brian and Justin be doing the same thing? They say he's young!

"He has an adult voice." Robots don't hit puberty! This means nothing. Unless youre saying that the creators implied hes an adult because hes voiced by an adult, well i'll have to refer you to the images above.

"He hosts an entire show." Arguably not very well, also again, he's a robot, and also, theyre on an island! its not like you need a permit to film on a random island in god knows where. Any child can "host" a show if they have enough determination, general knowledge of how they work, and equipment, and would you know it Mephone has all three! He knows how they work because he watched them in meeple, and he can generate any equipment he needs.

"He's a robot, he doesn't have an age." True..? sort of...? But the thing is, being legally defined as a child is based off your mental capacity. Children arent as mentally/emotionally intelligent as grown adults, because they don't have the life experience nor the capacity to be. Mephone barely has ANY life experience, he grew up in Meeple, and then started the show immediately after leaving. And obviously, in Inanimate Insanity (and all object shows), robots are almost always sentient beings, unlike real life.

"He's much more mature than a child, especially one that couldn't spell." Debatable! First of all, he thinks things like 'going to jail for one day' and 'the calm down corner' are terrible punishments, like children. If you tell a child to go sit on the stairs for 5 minutes and frame it as a punishment, they will take it as serious as anything else. Secondly, he literally decided to make a random species of bat.. things? fight to the death because they ate his four month old ice cream. No mature person would do that... Thirdly, abused children ACT more mature than others because they HAVE to be. Abused children are not ALLOWED to act like children. They have to be mature for themselves because who else is going to be? Who else is going to take care of you when your parent doesn't? But that doesn't mean they arent still a child.

So now we tread into questionable territory. Is it okay to deny the idea that he is a child at all costs, just so you can ship him or sexualize him? There is really no other reason why you would deny that he is a child.

Now obviously; lets not harass anyone who has drawn ship art of him or sexualized him in the past. This stuff was not commonly known, most people thought he was an adult. But if you look deeper, he isn't.
