Long time reader, first time asker. I love your colour theory stuff and I came across this side by side gif set of Madney pregnancy moments and noticed they’re in the same colours. Blue and red. I know you mainly focus on Buddie but was curious if you’d noticed Madney themes?

Hi!! My main thing with my metas, except for the blue and yellow (for the most part since henren do have some blue and yellow coding too) is that I use the other couples to prove a pattern and apply it to buddie to say that they are writing buddie purposefully as romantic. I do have a meta on the blue and red combo, I literally saw the madney still and went "oh, Maddie is pregnant" because blue and red is a parenting color combo, they used it all around henren's fostering storyline and madney both discuss the idea of a having a baby in 301 and find out they are pregnant both times in blue and red. (I have a meta on that and how that ends up applying to buddie here)
And something interesting about the blue and red coding of the 806 scene where we find out Maddie is pregnant again, is that even the props are blue and red.
And that's fun because since madney are the couple that they used to establish the blue and green thing, their house tends to be more blue and green when it comes to utensils and stuff, like the green pots, the blue couch, even Jee's room is blue and greenish.
And madney pretty much make the blue and green thing with couples a thing because their first scene is the first blue and green scene (I mean technically it is Chim and Tatiana in 204 but it is blue and teal, the shades there are really pushing it, 206 is very clear especially since they are blue and green from head to toe). And a lot of major developments in their relationship also happen in blue and green, meeting, finding out Jee is a girl, getting back together, and more.
The show also pushes that with the way Boston and There Goes The Groom are very blue and green coded. And this is a fun aspect when you consider how gloomy the colors look in 512 in comparison to 706.
I mostly don't write metas on the other couples because I feel like most people don't want to read them since they are already established? But the patterns are there.

Madney, Bathena, and Henren are all made for each other. LOVED this episode, right down to the equal partnerships being shown between the rings and flowers props.
So Natalia walked out on Buck after finding out about the baby. Kameron and Connor are having issues. I knew it. This baby is coming into Buck's life in a big way. And even though he tried to keep Natalia from leaving, he didn't turn Kameron away.
Then Eddie sees Marisol again, a woman he met at an emergency, something he just told Buck a couple of episodes ago that wasn't a good thing. Though this time, Eddie is the one who got an injury on his hand (from his attempts at trying to meet women) before he saw this woman again. Even though he appears to be attracted to her, supposedly having his moment, he still leaves without saying another word.
And the universe and signs are mentioned AGAIN.
In the episode where all of the canon romantic couples are having their lovey-dovey moments, we have Buck seeing an ex-flame on TV (selling her story, shocker, who didn't see that one coming) while with Natalia, and an ex-fling? ex-kiss? while out with Natalia. Neither of those situations or anything else he tells her scares her away. The baby does. A baby that has been hinted at Buck wanting very badly (aka being a dad/having a family) all season. And instead of Kameron eating the pickles, Buck sits on the couch eating them while looking up to where she's asleep. In this same episode, we learn that Pepa is setting Eddie up on dates because he won't do it himself. When he does take the initiative, it doesn't go well no matter the situation or circumstances. He also gets splashed with coffee (think 4x06 Jinx with Ana getting injured by spilled coffee & Buck burning his tongue with coffee). Then he sees a woman he met once and he and Buck helped her fix her house together. And instead of asking her out or asking for her number, he acts all twitterpated and leaves. Where he earlier talked to Bobby about wanting to find what he had with Shannon, which we found out last episode wasn't this big romance that it was all cracked up to be.
I mean, it's pretty obvious here that these two characters aren't real love interests. If they decided to have either guy pursue a relationship with either woman, it doesn't bode well. Especially for Buck and Natalia. Unless she's ready to be a mom (or create a family), she and Buck are on very different paths. (to be fair to her, she just met the guy but you get what I'm saying)
This is all very telling, I think. Especially when you have Madney, Bathena, and Henren being set up as the contrasts (the successful love relationships) to Eddie's and Buck's single exploits in this episode. Even Ella and her husband as well as the bride and groom who reconnected after so much time had passed. And then you also have the beginning emergency where the fiancee lies to her boyfriend and accepts his proposal and pretty much plans to do the same to him that Tatiana did to Chim. When Chim is going through it this episode (and last).
This episode couldn't be louder.

9-1-1: 6x02 thoughts
This was another great episode!
My heart is hurting for Athena and what she's about to go through; saying that, I don't think it's her dad at all, I think the killer might be the retired handyman (there's a reason they showed us the flirty energy between Athena and the current handyman as well as the discussion of what was to be done in the garage as well as the intro - props to the writers for following up on this important story line for this amazing character
I am beyond proud of Bobby; he stood up for Athena when she needed him to the most; I'm glad things worked out with Beatrice though
Poor Hen! God bless her for trying to juggle all of that! I'm sad that she failed but I'm glad that it's coming down to a choice she needs to make, I was terrified for her when she fell asleep at the wheel (I may or may have not been yelling at the screen 'Hen, open that window right now! Turn the radio on! Chew some gum! Pull over! NOT LIKE THAT!)
Love my girl Karen, she really is Hen's perfect partner - I CANNOT WAIT for Henren Begins
Denny is so cute btw - can't believe how much time has passed though and all of these kids are growing up
Loved the call center stuff with Maddie and Noah, it's nice to see her back in the swing of things and helping to train the newcomers
Chim! He knew before anyone (except maybe Karen) that Hen was taking on too much - I love these besties so much - I only wish she had listened to him
Buck with the convention emergency - can I just say that Oliver plays that role brilliantly? So much heart and incredible energy, I don't know how to explain it but no one could play Buck the way Oliver does, no one. My heart broke for Buck though as well as that guy. Makes me think back to Mitchell and Red: two emergencies and older men that Buck needed to learn from. "You don't find it, you make it" & learning not to let the job monopolize his life. Now he's trying to learn the secret to happiness, to "be at ease"
And sure enough, we have the locker room scene which I swear is like a play on the 4x06 breakfast scene and even more so for the 3x16 scene where Buck wants to go out to celebrate, but instead this time Eddie is asking straight out (with Chim) and Buck refuses as does Hen, I seriously love this writing team sometimes and what they do
And because I'm me, the scene with the popcorn (notice how it's Eddie, Chim, and Buck only having popcorn then dousing Hen with it, and also notice how Chim's color bowl is different to Eddie's and Buck's whose happens to be the same color together - this show makes choices)
Good stuff, all good stuff - can't wait to see the next episode
