"I remember awhile back ago, when i was playing Fallout 4, I had Maccready as my companion and i was playing through the Nuka-World DLC and i went to swap Maccready for Gage and i even said to myself what the plan was, however, when i finally swapped the two so Gage was my companion i cried so hard that Maccready was gone that i left Gage back at Nuka-World and went all the way to sanctuary just to apologize to Maccready and make him become my main companion again."

Tumblr media
so this is where I take a work-in-progress and turn it into a work-is-published on wednesday with the 2nd installment of my not-so-much one night stands
Liam usually does not go out to clubs, at least not by himself, and hasn’t for years. He usually doesn't accept drinks from strangers or dance with them either, and he definitely does not go home with them. But then one night while visiting some friends changes all that ... or yet another one-night stand that well ... wasn't so much

I've been playing HFW and am currently in the middle of Singularity when it hit me.
In HZD Erend has to hold back on killing Dervahl bcs of "his king's orders" and cos "he got to grow up fast".
Yet, Aloy gets to stab Helis in HZD, and in HFW Kotallo gets to off Regala (when you dont spare her) and Zo gets to off Eric.
My man Erend rly just had the wrong weapon, if he had a spear he would have gotten his well deserved kill too.
Guerilla, do right by my boy and let him stab a bitch!!

five sentence fic asks: Narnia + broken
The silence was broken by Eustace's soft question. "But who exactly is Aslan? Do you know him?"
Edmund looked away over the mossy rocks, and the murmuring stream flashing white through the grey early light, looked out to the sea, to the west, back, back, looking back to the cliffs above the cove, and the shining towers that were no longer, and the great stone slab cracked in two, and he smiled softly to himself.
"Well, he knows me."

I think the most baffling thing about the Tulpar as a vessel to me is the fact that the ship really did only have a one way communication system.
I know it was cheap but even the most basic of vessels regarding major transport would have some way, shape or form for outside communication. Not only that but there was absolutely no form of innate emergency signal to show they may have been offline or in trouble despite clearly having a system to dock credits if they went off course. It's another factor that really shows that bad situations are made to get worse by design. One person who is required to relay all information to the crew and make all the choices without feedback. No way to update or call for help in case of a dire situation. No way to inform of inner personal conflicts and acquire procedures accordingly.
It really is like they are all in some sort of fucked up solitary confinement. They have their own world with strict roles that are meaningless in the end, as long as the cargo makes it, it doesn't matter what happens on that ship to the company. They don't want to hear anything and will come to conclusions on what happened based on how much pay they can withhold from the workers. Even what they do send is short, sterile and corporate to the extent it was likely written and sent out with a command by some random unmanned computer in an office.
There's something to be said about how unfair it is to force absolute power and control onto one person when you as an entity could do so much more to offload it but I've said it many times before so I won't again.
#its just like idk i dont think Curly was a bad captain because we only have this scenerio and I certainly dont think a man like Swansea#would like him or have very little issues with him specifically if he was incompentent or too lienent in the past but I do think the stress#was making him worse and worse as being a present leader as it dawned on him how much he actually had to handle like I really think he#just wanted to do yknow normal captain pilot stuff and fly the ship and yknow the little stuff like make sure things run right and over tim#the constant stress and strain of having to make every major choice started to grate on him and freak him out cause they cant even fucking#eat unless he pulls out the scanner and starts cooking like he has to choose the meal likely or have a vote and i make that part of the#reason he seems so indecisive and inactive is the fact he has to make the choice all the time and he's hoping he can at least make the crew#feel a little more in control of themselves as people by staying out of affairs like the game or disputes because god he literally has to#choose for them all the time like thats a lot of responsibility monitering their sleep their breaks food consumption thats all on him like#it really should be another persons job entirely as thats almost like absoulte contrl over the lives of everyone else that PE forces onto#that title and its also crazy how everyone accepts it even if they dont like it like they broke the food machine open rather than get the#scanner they all waited two months before Jimmy appointed himself leader its so scary how conditioned they all are to the environemnt#cause that sort of mindset is sadly real where people just wait everyone just waited until it was getting real dire and then they still#followed Jimmy without too many complaints like i saw a fic or post where Anya acknowledges they all kinda just let Jimmy do what they want#because he became the captain and it was stupid on all their parts cause they could clearly see how bad he was and yet he was captain so#they just fell in line to their roles and thats a bigger point towards how PE treated them and the complacency capitalism brings to you#just like something that irks me because idk I know Curly is slow to act but he's not as like unopinionated as people make him out to be#like he does try to find solutions but they are still restricted at the end of the day by what PE provides them and I think his biggest c#crime is being in his own head too much and not giving Anya that emotional stability cause like idk man was he supposed to go to Home Depot#himself and install like padlocks? even if the let Anya sleep in medical after she pointed it out she was already pregnant at that point#like we arent seeing the inherent issue that no one not even Anya herself was thinking of the preventative measures because a)there was a#point nothing was happening that necessitated them b) it would've been the responsibility of PE to address them pre and post incident and c#there is only one person on the entire ship given the authority to do anything. You can not make multiple important choices in one instance#in such little time and Curly should not have had that total power like i think the most interesting thing in takes that really blame Curly#is that level of control they give him over the company. Like again i think about the three days we miss between the eval/party and the#convo/crash like i think people switch them around as if those scenes happen in succession when they are broken up and its heavily implied#Curly and Jimmy just havent been talking vs the depiction that she told him and for like three days Curly was just chummy despite the fact#Jimmy and him just had a blow out fight like the next time we assume they talk is during the crash sequence cause he honestly hangs#around Anya more which i think is really important because she trust Curly to defend her himself but not his judgement to give her somethin#to defend herself as she knows he believes her but also knows she's not seeing the danger the same and its heartbreaking and more

Do you think Alice would be affected by her vision in BD? Would seeing Carlisle and Jasper die have a lingering effect on her? Would she even tell Jasper what she saw?
Another ridiculously late response but I love this question.
I absolutely believe Alice would be affected by her vision in BD because it was so close to an absolute fate. But how is the real question.
(And listen, I think the lack of fighting Jasper got to do in BD2 was stupid; Jasper would not go down without a hell of a fight. They missed a golden opportunity to have Jasper, Peter, and Charlotte fighting together referencing what was established in Eclipse and... I think the battle could have been done better, but let's work with what we have.)
I think there are two possibilities here.
The first is that Alice confides in Jasper, needs his reassurance that it's okay, that they one, that what she saw doesn't need to haunt her because she won the game. I think that Jasper would have been more protective of her and that they would have been slightly distant from the family as Alice dealt with the knowledge of what could have been. I also think that Alice would have had to weigh up the value that Carlisle places on her (and I mean, there's a lot of dark content there if you wanted to look at Carlisle rushing to the protection of a beloved daughter vs Carlisle trying to make sure he doesn't lose the most powerful weapon the family has - and failing.)
Would Carlisle have gone after Aro for anyone other than her, Edward, Bella, or Esme? Is it a paternal affection or is it an obligation? I can see Alice getting right up into the technicalities and Jasper would be there, talking her down and convincing her that it's okay, she saved everyone. And Alice just being terrified that she still got Jasper, Carlisle, Bella, and Edward killed in that future. That they came so close to cleaving the family in half; that she gambled and lose Jasper. I feel like this version of Alice, confiding in Jasper, would let her heal, let her appreciate her family, and even find more value as Alice Cullen, and not the family psychic.
Option two is the darker version, the version that really changes Alice. Internalizing that fight, realizing how close she came to losing Jasper and getting Carlisle killed makes her a little ... harder? A little less human, a little more serious. And that's entirely because of Jasper's death. That was her fault, and in her mind that is unforgivable. We think of Jasper as the overprotective one, but I honestly believe that Alice has the same streak of overprotectiveness. I think it would make Alice a lot more precise with her visions, a lot more critical and she would try to overcompensate in future-proofing them.
With Carlisle, she would really feel like she had let down the family, and everything that they had offered her. I think that everything she knows would be a wake-up call to how harsh the universe is.
Jasper would worry about her, and Alice wouldn't tell him what she saw, only that it was bad. I think Edward would end up telling Jasper and Carlisle what Alice saw to try and 'help', and whilst I think Jasper would definitely be able to support her better through that guilt and terror, and frustration, Alice would be fundamentally changed by internalizing it. And I don't think she'd play 'fair' with her visions again; I think that Alice would absolutely weaponize her visions for maximum damage when the Volturi return because of Jasper's death in the battle vision. Fuck around and find out, Aro.
That was fun, anon! Pro-violence Alice will live rent-free in my head for a hot minute now.

6. A WOLF THING?
Tumblr media
AS SHE REACHED OUT TO INGRAM, THE FINAL vampire to see her memory, my eyes caught Jacob's sudden shift in demeanour. He strutted forward, Renesmee's hand slipping away from his cheek, and extended his right arm in a protective stance, shielding her from us.
"Enough show-and-tell for one day," Jacob declared, his voice firm and unwavering.
Show-and-tell? I couldn't help but scoff at the notion. Renesmee was no mere school project to be flaunted and displayed.
"Jacob," Edward interjected, his voice calm and collected. "They won't harm her."
Jacob's response was hesitant, his words laced with uncertainty. "I know, but let's not push it."
Edward nodded, acknowledging Jacob's protectiveness. "Alright, Jacob. Let's give them some time to absorb what they've seen."
Gabriel turned to Edward, his eyes filled with determination. "We've seen enough to know Renesmee isn't an immortal child. But we need to prepare for the Volturi's arrival. We must be united and present a strong front."
Bella gently set Renesmee down, and the little girl scampered off to Jacob's side, her small hand slipping into his larger one.
I was mostly concerned about Jacob's strange behaviour. What was his deal? Acting weird was an understatement. I locked eyes with him, my gaze piercing.
"What's your problem?" I demanded, my voice sharp and accusatory.
As Renesmee let out a drowsy yawn, her tiny arms stretched out like a sleepy kitten. She rubbed her eyes with her delicate fingers before placing her hand on her mother's cheek. I watched the adorable scene unfold before me. If only I were human, I thought, I would have melted into a puddle of goo right then and there.
Bella's eyes softened as she listened to whatever Renesmee was showing her. A slow smile spread across her face, and she leaned down to kiss her daughter's forehead. "Yes, sweetie," she murmured and glanced at Edward. ""She needs a nap."
Jacob relaxed slightly, though his posture remained guarded. He watched the exchange between mother and daughter with an intensity that spoke volumes. His protectiveness was palpable, and while I didn't understand the depth of his feelings, I couldn't deny their authenticity. But it felt weird. He hated vampires and he made it clear.
I seized the opportunity to break the awkward silence, trying to get to the bottom of it. "Hey, Jake," I said, trying to sound friendly. "We should catch up."
I could feel a gulp from Jacob and Edward nodded in agreement, smiling. "Sounds like a good idea," he said, scooping up his wife and daughter in his arms.
"I'll see you later," Bella said, and they made their way out of the living room.
I couldn't help but feel that Edward knew something I was planning to do with Jacob.
"So you and the wolf have a history," Kate asked me, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
"We were friends when we were human," I replied, trying to keep my tone casual.
"Interesting," Tanya commented, her lips curling into a sly smile.
As I turned to face Jacob, his eyes darted nervously around the room. I could feel the tension building between us, like a storm brewing on the horizon.
"What's going on?" I heard Ingram speaking from behind me.
"This should be good," Joseph seemingly replied to his younger brother.
Jacob took a deep breath and stepped forward, his feet shuffling nervously on the floor. "Violet," he began, his voice barely above a whisper. "Look, it's a wolf thing."
I raised an eyebrow, my curiosity piqued. "What's a wolf thing?" I growled, my voice low and dangerous.
Jacob hesitated for a moment before continuing. "Um... You know about Seth and Ayla?"
I nodded, my mind racing with possibilities.
"And I'm sure you know about...?" Jacob trailed off, his eyes flickering to the ground.
I felt a bitter anger rising within me. "Well, I wouldn't know," I whispered, my voice dripping with venom. "It's a wolf thing."
A few snickers echoed around the room, but I couldn't tell who they came from. Jacob swallowed hard, his eyes pleading with me to understand.
"Then," he said, his voice barely audible. "You know we have no control over it. We can't choose who it happens with."
Suddenly, a memory flashed through my mind. Seth's words at the reception, his declaration of love for Ayla. The imprinting. I felt a chill run down my spine as I realised the truth of Jacob's words. I thought about Ayla's Face Time conversation... it all made sense now. The disgusting feeling in my throat wasn't from thirst, but from the realisation that... Jacob had...
My anger boiled over, and before I knew it, I had grabbed Jacob by the back of his neck and dragged him towards the door. With a swift motion, I flung him outside, watching as he landed on the ground with a thud.
"You imprinted on Renesmee?!" I screamed at him, my voice echoing through the forest.
"It wasn't my choice!" Jacob yelled back, his eyes blazing with frustration.
"She's a kid!" I shouted, my voice cracking with emotion.
"It's not like that," Jacob insisted, desperation creeping into his tone. "You think Edward and Bella would let me be near her if it was?"
"What is imprinting?" Simon's voice cut through the tense silence that had settled over us. I turned my head to see my family and the Denali Coven standing outside, their eyes fixed on me as I delivered a brutal beatdown to Jacob.
"It's a way of finding your soulmate," I replied, watching as confusion and disgust flickered across their faces.
"That's not it," Jacob interjected, his voice defensive.
I turned to face him, my eyes blazing with anger. "That's what Seth told me," I spat.
"He's still new," Jacob shot back, struggling to rise from where he'd fallen. His eyes met mine with a mix of defiance and desperation. "Imprinting isn't about romance. It's about finding someone you need in your life, someone you're meant to protect and care for. It can be romantic, but it doesn't have to be."
"Like hell it isn't romantic," I sneered, not buying a word of it. "She's just a child, Jacob."
"I know," he said, softer now. "But it's not like that. Not yet, at least. For now, it's about being what she needs. A protector, a friend. Nothing more."
I took a step back, my anger still simmering but curiosity beginning to seep in. "And you're saying this isn't your choice?"
Jacob nodded, his eyes earnest. "I didn't choose this, Violet. None of us do. But it's real, and it's powerful. Renesmee is the most important thing in my life now, and I will protect her with everything I have."
I shook my head in disbelief. "You could have imprinted on thousands of women, but you chose her daughter," I ranted, my voice rising. "Even though you had a crush on Bella, her mother!"
I couldn't help but feel like I was in the middle of a dramatic scene straight out of a soap opera. Gasps echoed behind me, as if the audience was watching with bated breath, waiting for the next twist in the plot.
Jacob's face flushed with a mixture of shame and determination. "It's not about choice, Violet. It's something that happens to us wolves. Imprinting is beyond our control."
I felt a deep, unsettling mix of emotions: anger, confusion, betrayal. "But she's just a child," I reiterated, my voice barely holding back the torrent of emotions threatening to overflow.
Jacob took a cautious step closer, his eyes never leaving mine. "I know how it looks. And believe me, I've questioned it myself. But the imprinting bond isn't something sinister. It's about what she needs, not what I want."
His words hung in the air, a fragile explanation trying to bridge an insurmountable gap. I wanted to scream, to argue, to make sense of something that felt fundamentally wrong.
And then, without warning, I lashed out. My fist connected with Jacob's face, the sound of the impact echoing through the trees. But as I stood there, triumphant, I heard something else. Growls, low and menacing, coming from the shadows.
Two massive wolves emerged from the trees, their eyes fixed on me. I could feel the tension in the air, the sense of danger that hung over us like a thick fog. And then, from behind me, came the snarls of the Denali Coven and Alana.
Jacob rose to his feet, his hand held up in a gesture of peace. But I couldn't take my eyes off the wolves. I recognized them, those two grey and sandy beasts that stood before us. They were familiar, somehow, and I couldn't shake the feeling that they knew something I didn't.
Jacob's voice broke through my thoughts, his hand raised in a calming gesture towards Leah. But my attention was solely focused on the sandy wolf, who I recognized as Seth.
"Hey, Seth," I said, my voice low and steady. The wolf bowed his head in response. "Did you two know about Jacob and Renesmee?"
The wolves nodded, their eyes fixed on me. I felt a chill run down my spine, and I turned to Jacob.
"How did they know?" I demanded, my voice rising.
"It's a long story," he said, his eyes flickering with something like fear.
I didn't give him a chance to explain. Without thinking, I lashed out again, my fist connecting with his stomach. He fell to the ground, gasping for air.
As I stood there, panting and triumphant, I couldn't help but feel like I was in the middle of a dramatic scene straight out of a soap opera. But this was no fiction - this was real life, and the stakes were higher than I ever could have imagined.
"Stop this at once, Violet!" bellowed Gabriel's authoritative voice.
"Hold on," interjected Joseph, his tone calm and measured. "Allow her to express herself fully."
Jacob raised his hands in surrender as he stood up. "Okay, okay. I found out that Bella was pregnant and I informed them."
"And I presume they were less than pleased?" I spat out, my bitterness palpable.
"Yes. Sam's initial reaction was to eliminate her, but I stood up to them. When Renesmee was born, Bella perished, and I was devastated. It was then that I had a sudden urge to eradicate the newborn, and..."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," I interjected, pointing an accusatory finger at him. "Hold up. You were going to murder her?"
Jacob nodded, conceding the truth. "Yes, I was. That's when I imprinted on her."
I stared at him, my anger flaring anew. "You wanted to kill her and then imprinted on her? That's twisted, Jacob."
"It's not like I had a choice," Jacob replied, his voice strained. "The imprinting saved her life. It turned my desire to destroy her into an unbreakable bond to protect her."
I couldn't wrap my mind around it. The whole concept seemed alien, a bizarre mix of destiny and biology that defied logic. "And what about you?" I asked, my voice laced with sarcasm. "Did you even think about how this would affect your life, your relationships?"
Jacob sighed, a deep weariness in his eyes. "I've had to make peace with it, Violet. It's not easy, but it's my reality. Renesmee is my responsibility now."
I looked around, seeking understanding in the faces of those around us. The Denali Coven watched in silence, their expressions a mix of curiosity and caution. My family stood together, their concern evident. Even the wolves, Seth and Leah, seemed on edge, their stances tense.
Gabriel stepped forward, his demeanor calm yet commanding. "We must focus on the larger issue at hand," he said, his voice cutting through the tension. "The Volturi are coming. We need to be prepared, united."
Jacob nodded, his face set with determination. "Agreed. But understand this, Violet. I'll protect Nessie with my life. Whether you accept it or not."
"Nessie?" Alana's voice cut in, her annoyance palpable. "You mean to tell me you've nicknamed that girl after the Loch Ness Monster?"
Jacob let out a sigh, his eyes flickering over to Alana before returning to me. "That's exactly how Bella reacted," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
I shot a glare at her. "Alana, they basically named their kid Résumé. I think Nessie is an appropriate nickname."
Jacob's face softened slightly at my comment, though the tension in the air remained thick. "I understand how it sounds, Violet. But it's her nickname, and it's stuck."
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. Whatever. Let's just focus on what we need to do."
Gabriel nodded in agreement. "The Volturi are our primary concern. We must ensure that they see Renesmee for what she is, and that we are united in our stance."
The Denali Coven murmured in assent, and my family shifted their stances, readying themselves for the inevitable confrontation. I turned to Seth, who gave me a reassuring nod. And then, I looked over at Leah, who was staring intently at my family.
I followed her gaze, mainly focusing on Ethan, and saw the disdain etched on her face. She probably hated that more vampires were coming to stay. After all, she had called me a leech at the reception. But for now, I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on Jacob's words. Renesmee was the reason. And somehow, that made sense to him.
The night was in complete darkness as I sat on the roof ledge of the Cullens household. I could see stars in the clear sky as I named every Zodiac constellation: Aries, the ram, with its characteristic curve; Taurus, the bull, standing firm and resolute; Gemini, the twins, their stars closely paired; Cancer, the crab, its faint, scattered stars almost elusive; Leo, the lion, bold and regal; Virgo, the maiden, stretched gracefully across the sky; Libra, the scales, balanced delicately; Scorpio, the scorpion, its tail curving ominously; Sagittarius, the archer, poised to release his arrow; Capricorn, the sea-goat, a curious mix of land and water; Aquarius, the water-bearer, pouring out the celestial stream; and Pisces, the fish, swimming in unison through the heavens.
Being a vampire gave me a lot of spare times so studying and naming the star signs. So far, I was nailing it.
I leaned back, propping myself up on my elbows, feeling the rough texture of the shingles beneath my fingertips. The Cullens' house was eerily silent, each of its inhabitants either lost in their thoughts or off on their own nocturnal activities. The air was cool, carrying with it the scent of pine and the distant sound of a stream. It was a night like so many others, yet something about it felt different, as if the universe was on the cusp of revealing a great secret.
The stillness was interrupted by a soft rustling sound. I turned my head to see Ingram emerging from one of the upper windows, his movements as fluid and silent as a shadow. He joined me on the ledge, his red gaze fixed on the same stars that had captured my attention moments before.
"Couldn't rest?" he asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.
I shook my head. "Just needed some fresh air. And to think."
Ingram nodded, his eyes reflecting the starlight. "The stars have a way of making everything else seem so small, don't they?"
"Yeah," I agreed, "They do. It's comforting, in a way."
We sat in silence for a while, each lost in our own thoughts. The night seemed to stretch on endlessly, the stars keeping their silent vigil above us. I wondered what Ingram was thinking, if he too felt the same inexplicable tension that had settled over the evening.
"Do you ever think about the future?" I asked suddenly, the words escaping before I could stop them.
Ingram looked at me, his expression thoughtful. "Every day," he admitted. "But the future is always uncertain. It's the present that we can control, the moments we choose to live in right now."
His words hung in the air, heavy with truth. The present, I realized, was all we truly had. The past was unchangeable, and the future unknowable. All we could do was make the most of the time we were given, cherish the moments that defined us.
As the night wore on, we continued to sit in silence, the stars above us a reminder of the vastness of the universe and our small place within it. The darkness no longer felt oppressive but rather a canvas, a backdrop to the stories yet to be written, the adventures yet to be had.
I closed my eyes, letting the cool breeze wash over me, and for the first time in a long while, I felt at peace. Whatever the future held, I knew that I was not alone, that I had found a place where I belonged, surrounded by those who understood me.
And in that moment, under the watchful gaze of the constellations, I made a silent promise to myself: to live each day fully, to embrace the unknown with open arms, and to never forget the beauty of a starry night on the roof of the Cullens' house.
Ingram broke the silence with a question that seemed to echo my own thoughts. "Do you ever miss it? The human life?"
I pondered his question, searching for the right words. "Sometimes," I admitted. "There are moments, little things I took for granted. But then I look at the stars, and I remember why I chose this path."
He nodded, understanding in his eyes. "It's a trade-off, isn't it? Immortality for the simplicity of a human life. But we find our own meaning, our own purpose."
I smiled, grateful for his companionship. "Yes, we do. And maybe that's enough."
The night deepened, and the stars continued their silent dance. Together, we sat on the roof ledge, two immortals in a world that was constantly changing, finding solace in the constellations above and the friendship we had forged. It was a night like no other, a moment suspended in time, a chapter of our lives written in the stars.
