Baby Steps
Summary: You and Rafe are expecting your first child and decide to take a trip to the beach, not expecting to be joined by a guest with chubby cheeks and pull ups.
-some more domesticated rafe as per your request-
The golden hues of the late afternoon sun stretch across the horizon, casting a warm glow over the beach as you and Rafe arrive. You smile at the feeling of the hot sand between your toes.
The waves lazily lap against the shore, creating a serene soundtrack to your special day. It was a beautiful day out, for sure. With the cooler gripped in one hand, with the umbrella on top, and the box containing a special mini cake in his other hand, Rafe is already in full preparation mode.
âHere, let me help with that,â you offer, but Rafe shakes his head, his grin both charming and determined. "You're already carrying something valuable, let me handle the rest, okay?" Rafe reassures you as he places the items down in a nice vacated space.
Far enough from the waves to not get wet, but close enough to still hear the water cracking against the sand at an amplified volume as the perfect white noise for you to do some beach reading. You glance down at your rounded belly, letting your left hand rest over the precious cargo he's referring to.
"I'm only four months, babe. I can still carry things. Just let me help you set up at least." You hold onto the muscle of his upper arm with a soft frown and he can't resist. An idea visibly dawned upon him. "Yeah, you know what." He props open the cooler and pulls out a chilled bottle of water, "I need you to drink this, I don't want you to get too hot."
Your eyes roll and you take the bottle, about to ease yourself down onto the beach chair when Rafe is suddenly behind you, a guiding palm on your lower back to lighten your load as you sit down. "Rafe, you're joking, right? I know how to sit down by myself." You huff and he sees you're starting to get frustrated.
He crouches down to be near you, "Look, baby. I'm sorry, okay? It's all just so new to me and I don't want anything to happen to you or the baby especially not if I can help it." Your arms unfold, and your composure melts under his apologetic gaze.
How could you be mad at him? He was just so cute and excited to be a dad, he wanted to make sure you had the safest, most comfortable pregnancy possible, and he made sure of that at all times. He set up everything while you didn't lift a finger.
You'd even slipped into a light nap as he did so. Waking up under the shade of the beach umbrella and almost certain there was an extra layer of sunscreen on your arms that wasn't there before.
Your towels laid out on the sand in front of you where Rafe knelt, the cake now put away in the cooler as he organized the supplies in the first-aid kit he insisted on bringing along.
"Is this all you're gonna do all day?" You mumble, lifting up your sun hat a bit to see him better and he smiles. "Well, you fell asleep on me, so I was keeping myself busy." Taking that as your cue to stand, leaving your hat behind on the chair and untying the flowy coverup you'd been wearing.
"I'm up now, let's get in the water." He's right behind you as your heels kick up sand with your eager steps to the ocean. Your laughs blend harmoniously in the water. Playful splashes and stolen kisses fill your afternoon for the next hour until you're ready for lunch.
Now Rafe was lounging under the shade, sunglasses covering his sky-blue eyes as he relaxed on the chair. Meanwhile, you enjoyed the warm sun kissing your skin as you sat on the towel, preparing some sandwiches for you both to share.
That brings you to now, the two of you sitting on the sandy towels with satiated appetites and a pleased smile on your faces, enjoying each other's company. "You ready now?" Rafe proposes, referring to the mini cake in the cooler which had either a pink or blue filling. You shake your head.
"Not yet, I need more time." He laughs, "At this rate, you'll find out when the baby comes." He says casually and your brow arches, "Only me? Don't you mean the both of us?" His head shakes, "Uh uh, I'm eating that cake with or without you." He jokes and you swat at him, causing him to spill some water from the bottle he was sipping before putting it away.
His attention was stolen from you and focused on something behind you, before you could even turn your head, Rafe's reflexes are shown as his arms reach out for the tumbling toddler who'd tripped over the uneven terrain and it seems she'd been running at a pace faster than her chunky legs could keep up with.
"Woah! Hey there, pudding," The nickname rolls off Rafe's tongue so naturally you hardly even recognize it, she looks up at him from within his stronghold. "Hi!" She waves and Rafe smiles so big it warms your heart to see.
"Where are your parents?" He follows up but she busies herself with the chain around his neck, blabbering the words 'Dada' in the sweetest voice you'd ever heard.
Rafe's eyes crinkle at the corners with his smile as he looks at you, mouthing the words, "She's so cute" and you mouth back, "I know," "I wonder where her parents are." You say, checking the tag on her swim top for any signs of identification but nothing. The two of you stand, the toddler hanging off Rafe's side, having the time of her life with a cheeky smile.
The two of you paced the beach, up and down. "I know her parents are worried sick," You mutter, checking your phone for any services you can contact for a 'lost baby on the beach please help!'
"If they don't come back, do you think we can keep her?" Rafe inquires and you laugh, "It's probably every parent's nightmare to hear a stranger say that as you're holding their missing child." You say, stopping in your tracks and placing your hands on your back with a sigh, worn out from all the walking.
"Are you okay?" Rafe checks in and you nod, "Maybe we should just go back and wait? Her parents might be walking around too and we keep missing them." Rafe agrees and the three of you walk back to your place on the beach, each of you holding her hand as she had insisted on being put down.
You kept her busy once you returned to your spot, building sand castles and giving her some water and sunscreen to keep her hydrated and protected from the slowly setting sun.
"How old are you?" Rafe laughs at your attempts to have full conversations with who he assumes is a two-year-old, but your guess was three. "Me Ava." She says and your eyes widen. Your initial question remained unanswered but now you had other answers.
"Ava! Hi Ava!" You coo, tickling her tummy until she's a bundle of fits and giggles, completely oblivious to the longing look Rafe has on you. "Tummy!" She says, and you laugh, not sure what she's talking about until she places a hand on your belly. "Big tummy!" She repeats and Rafe can't help but stifle a laugh at her direct observation.
"That's right. There's a baby in here." You explain but her head tilts, lost. "Baby?" You gave the soft waves of her hair a gentle pat, admiring her innocence, "That's right, it's either a girl baby or a boy baby." To your surprise, she begins chanting for a 'boy baby'. "See, Ava gets it." Rafe teases, always taking the opportunity to talk about having the boy he so desperately begs you for as if you had any say in the matter.
"Hungry," She whines and that sends Rafe digging into the cooler for snacks. You let her decide which fruit she wanted but her eye had caught sight of the mini container of cake that had been taken out in order to find the other items.
"Looks like she knows what she wants," Rafe smiles and you think about it, "We can't give her sugar, Rafe. Here, do you want some watermelon?" Her focus now is on the juicy red fruit you presented to her on a plate.
She must be fond of it, slurping up the juices and making a mess of her top. Fortunately, it was later washed off with the salt water when Rafe insisted on playing with her after she'd digested her food.
The sun was slowly beginning to set and the three of you had been lounging around for the last thirty minutes or so, when Ava made a loud shriek, "Mama!" She yelled, hopping off the towel and into her mom's arms.
Ava's mom graces you with a tight hug and a desperate stream of never-ending apologies and gratitude. She congratulated you on the little one you were expecting, confident you'd be amazing parents. "Now, what do you say to the nice people who watched you, Ava?" Her mom prompts, with what you could imagine is a very secure hold on Ava's hand, ensuring she doesn't slip away again.
"Thank you!" She beams, showing off her tiny baby teeth and you feel a twinge of sadness at the thought of her leaving. The last two hours, though chaotic, gave you the reassurance you were looking for with the whole parenting thing.
You wave them goodbye and you take a deep breath, "I'm ready," You don't have to explain anything more and you're both walking back to your spot to cut the cake. Only to see a toddler-sized footprint in it that Ava must've caused as she got up, denting the container and the contents inside smushing against its confines.
Pink.
"WaitâŠ" You say, in disbelief, kneeling down with Rafe doing the same. "Are we-" He says, eyes misting over and you call him out, "Hey, I thought you wanted a boy." He holds you close, "I thought so too, but I'm honestly just glad it's with you." He brings you in for a kiss on your forehead. She's so loved already and she doesn't even know it.

As a former psychiatric nurse, I am here to tell you in utter seriousness that OUR ENTIRE DAMN JOB is to listen carefully enough to you that we can feed you the lines that will get you to this place: where you HEAR the thing that just actually fell out of your face while you were so busy trying to hold your act in place that you couldn't keep it from doing that.
The human mindâthat exquisitely complex thingâis ALL about maintaining its current smooth operational status. EVEN when that status is wildly dysfunctional and/or destructive. I mean, the brain says, hardly ever hearing its own desperation, everything's working pretty well right now, isn't it? And it can't hear the (internal laugh track) audience's painful response.
Our job is to startle you into hearing the internal laugh track: and yeah, the pain. There is no other way to get out of the pain than to acknowledge that you're in it, and at least to begin acknowledging the sources of it.
...All those light bulb jokes? About really having to want to change? They're bullshit. Believe me when I tell you that no one really wants to change. The one thing everyone I ever worked with in therapy wanted was to to stay just the way they were... just (somehow, magically) less uncomfortable. And surprise!âthat's not how getting better works.
Meanwhile: this is one reason I'm lucky as a writer... because having helped actual human beings walk through this process is one of the best possible forms of preparation for walking fictional characters through it.
And if having done it with real people sometimes makes it come across in the fiction as perilously close to comedy in the timing of how it unfolds? Well, sometimes it comes across that way with the real people too. And the laughter associated with your client realizing who the joke's been on may sometimes be painful, but (when it's genuine) has a uniquely joyous sound through the pain that can't be matched by any other human experience. It's a privilege to be part of that when it happens.
All you can do is keep feeding the person you're working the straight lines they've been telling you they need... and then wait for them to give up and bite.
Therapy is risky because sometimes they'll just ask you their standard "why can't you, though", and you think you're making some good point by saying something like "well if I don't do anything with my life then what's the point of being alive in the first place" and your therapist gets that look on their face and you immediately realise that your dumb ass just got caught, pinned to the ground with your stupid-ass neck between the spikes of a pitchfork, and you are not going to wiggle out of there before you two unpack what the fuck you just said.

Lavender
Word Count: 3.3k
Summary: Nature had always been your life. How fitting that it could now cause your death.
Warnings: angst (with a happy ending!), mentions of vomiting and blood.
a/n: Hello hello! This is perhaps definitely ass, but I really wanted to write for these two because I'm hopelessly in love with them both. Please enjoy!
Hanahaki Disease è±ćăç
(Japanese) is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings, or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear.
The natural world had always brought you peace. The softness of the grass under your feet, the gentle breeze blowing against your skin, the tender feeling of a flower blooming by your hand. You were a green witch, after all.
That was what had driven your family away. You had been 12 when you first sprouted a lily from your hand. You were more curious than scared; you had always sensed there was something that separated you from the rest of your family. Something about the earthâs treasures had always called to you.Â
But even at your young age, you knew who you were living with. Sharing your abilities was a recipe for disaster; a sure fire way to have you outcast from your family.
So you did your best to keep your powers a secret, honing them in private, away from the watchful eye of your parents.
When you were 20, the inevitable happened. You were meant to be collecting berries for dinner when you had spotted a Willow Tree. It was worse for wear; you could feel it pleading for help as you approached it with a soft smile.
âItâs alright,â you soothed the tree as you gently placed your palms against the soil where its roots rested, âYouâll be alright.â
You closed your eyes, focusing on strengthening the roots as green magic pulsed out from your hands, through the soil, and into the tree itself, which began to heal instantly.
The snapping of a twig broke you out from your trance, turning your head to see your mother fleeing the scene. Your heart dropped as you quickly stood, moving to follow her.
She was too fast. By the time you had returned to your cabin, everyone and everything was gone. Your entire family had left you.
You fell to your knees in the middle of what was once your home, tears rolling down your face as you stared at the ground. Numb, broken, grieving.
You donât know how long you stayed in that spot. You didnât eat, you didnât sleep, you just sat, staring, longing.
It wasnât until a cold hand lifted your chin that you realized you werenât alone anymore.
âHello, darling,â a voice said softly, and you locked eyes with one of the most beautiful women you had ever seen. Her brown eyes were intoxicating, drawing you in. You tilted your head at her in confusion and intrigue. Who was she? What was she doing here?
âYouâve been sat here for a week, darling. No food, no water, no sleep. Youâll kill yourself if you keep up like this,â she said as she looked at you curiously.
Your eyes widened in realization. Death.Â
She shook her head at you gently, sensing your fear. âDonât worry, sweetheart. Iâm not taking you. Itâs not your time,â she said, stroking your hair gently.Â
âThank you, Lady Death,â you stuttered out, in awe of her soft nature, directly contrasting the connotation of her very existence.
She smiled at you in response. âYou can call me Rio, sweet girl.âÂ
There was a moment where you two merely looked at one another before she looked away, taking on a rather stern expression. âBut I feel the need to tell you, sitting here and mourning your abandonment will only hurt you. Itâs not your time. So donât let it be. Get up, youâre coming with me.â
You stumble away from her in confusion. âI thought you werenât taking me?â
She shook her head. âIâm not taking you to the afterlife. I am, however, taking you in. Youâll be staying with Agatha and I.â
You knew that name. You had read about it during your private studies.
âAgatha? LikeâŠâThe Witch Killerâ Agatha? That Agatha?â you asked cautiously.
Rio cackled, extending her hand to you.
You took it.
And so began the years you spent with Death and her lover, Agatha Harkness. The two women were vastly different to their reputations that had preceded them. Sure, they both had a fierceness to them. They had to, in order to survive their daily lives filled with corpses and taking souls.
But, with each other, they held such a softness. Rio often came back from a long day exhausted and drained. Death didnât tend to be a fan favorite, and people made it evident, shouting at her and berating her as she escorted the souls of their loved ones to the afterlife. But Agatha greeted her at the door each evening with a hug, simply holding her for minutes on end, whispering sweet nothings in her ear as Rio visibly relaxed into her hold.
And Rio returned the favor, treating Agatha with a love full of tenderness and warmth. Comforting her after each nightmare, preventing her from overworking herself, giving her soft apology kisses after any arguments.
Before long, you knew almost everything about the pair. You learned about Agatha and her son, and his loss which nearly tore Agatha and Rio apart. How Agatha was only a âWitch Killerâ to keep Nicky alive as long as she could. How Rio held such anguish and guilt at having to take Nickyâs soul. How Agatha once held it against her but now loved her as fiercely as ever.
The two were made for each other, and though they welcomed you with a similar softness to that which they showed each other, you chalked it up to them taking pity on a girl who was abandoned by her family. You knew they could never love you like they loved each other.
But that didnât stop you from falling for them. It happened subconsciously; you never meant for it to happen. But when your heart panged in longing at seeing Agatha and Rio curled up in each otherâs arms in the living room, you knew it had happened. It panged even further as you looked down, noticing a red carnation that had bloomed in your palm against your will.
You were determined to ignore it. Surely you could enjoy their presence without focusing on the way your stomach flipped when Rio smiled at you, or how your heart seemed to triple in size whenever Agatha would stroke your hair in affectionate greeting. But what you had to do became evident one morning.
âWeâre headed out for a bit, doll,â Agatha said as you sat at the table eating the breakfast she had made for you.
You nodded. âOkay! Donât stay out too late, Iâm making your favorite for dinner, Ags.â
She beamed at you, making butterflies flare up in your stomach so violently they made you uneasy. âYouâre a gem. Isnât she just?â She turned to Rio, squeezing her hand gently.
âOh, yeah, sheâs the sweetest,â Rio replied, winking at you as you feel your heart beat faster.
The two bid you a final farewell before leaving for the day. As soon as they left, you began to feel an uncomfortable itch in your throat. You furrowed your brows, attempting to clear your throat to ease the discomfort, but to no avail. Eventually you began coughing. It was a cough that made you feel sick, made you feel like something was really wrong.
And when you coughed into your palm and saw the petals of daffodils, your suspicions were confirmed.
You had heard of Hanahaki disease but had always believed it to be a myth. Your heart dropped at the realization that your love for these women was going to kill you.
You had to leave.
So you did. You packed up that day and left, traveling solo for centuries as you studied the disease you suffered from.Â
Luckily, it impacted witches differently than humans. As your lifespan tended to be a lot longer, the disease was longer lasting; escalating at a slower pace before killing you altogether.
For the first hundred years, it had mostly been a consistent burning in your throat and coughing up various flower petals. Miserable, but bearable nonetheless.
After those hundred years, it began to escalate at a quicker pace as the flowers bloomed quicker and sharper. After 200 years of this disease, you were weaker than ever before. Coughing constantly, a never ending sensation of your insides burning, vomiting flower petals and blood.
Yes, there was the option of surgery, but you couldnât bring yourself to allow that option to become a reality. You didnât want to forget the love you held for Rio and Agatha. They had shown you kindness and softness like none other. You would die before you let yourself remove the memory of them from your very soul.
And you were getting close. You knew your time was running out.
And so, after another long day of slowly dying, you stared up at the sky, longing for your loves, even though you knew it could never be.
It was then that you felt yourself being sucked into the ground beneath you, and you let out a yelp at the shock.
Before you knew it, you were clawing your way out of the ground, now in a completely unfamiliar place. You were on a path in a strange, dystopian-looking forest. You could feel the magic buzzing around you as you pulled yourself up from the ground.
âWho is that?â
âI thought we already got a green witch?â
You heard a gasp and looked up to meet a pair of blue eyes you had longed for night after night for the past 200 years.
âAgatha,â you said quietly, tears welling in your eyes before you could stop them.
A familiar voice said your name and you shuddered at the sound.
âRio.â
The two women stared at you and you stared back, unsure of what to say.
âSo, are you gonna introduce us to the new girl, orâŠâ a witch in a pink dress asked and you broke your intense stare-down to introduce yourself by name to the coven of witches.Â
âIâm a green witch,â you explained.
âWeâve already got one,â a teenage boy said, pointing at Rio awkwardly.
You knew well and good that Rio wasnât here as a green witch, she was here on work business, but you didnât want to blow what seemed to be a cover, and you also didnât have a damn clue where you were, so you played along.
âWell, you know summoning spells, you never know how many youâre gonna getâŠâ you tried cautiously, still feeling the gaze of your former housemates burning into the side of your head.
âY/N, a word?â Agatha finally asked, and you gulp before nodding and following her and Rio to a secluded part of the forest.
âHey guysâŠwhatâs up?â you asked with an awkward smile, trying to ease the tension.
Rio narrowed her eyes at you, crossing her arms. âWhatâs up is that you up and left 200 years ago without so much as a word to either of us. Care to explain?â
You tried to look to Agatha for support, but she wouldnât meet your eyes. Your stomach turned at the thought that you had upset these women you loved so deeply.
You took a deep breath, staring at the ground. âI had some business to attend to. I didnât want either of you to get wrapped up in it.â
âWas your business âkilling yourself?â You look rough,â Rio said, a teasing smirk hiding her worry.
âThanks,â you rolled your eyes, some tension releasing from your shoulders at the knowledge that Rio wasnât angry enough to ignore you.
âYou left without so much as saying goodbye,â Agatha said quietly. She sounded so hurt, and you couldnât believe you had brought this on the pair, but you knew they deserved to love each other in peace, not be burdened at being the cause of your death.
âAgs, Iâm really sorry, I shouldâve said goodbye, I just-â you were cut off as a violent coughing fit shook you, causing both women to raise their eyebrows at you.
You turned away from them as you coughed a plumeria flower out of your throat. You quickly slipped the flower into your pocket and wiped a bit of blood from the corner of your mouth before turning to face the two witches again.
The eyes on you were soft and concerned, but you shook your head at them, shutting down their questions before they even asked. âIâm fine, just a cough.â
Rio opened her mouth to protest when a witch sporting orange streaks in her hair interrupted.
âIâm sorry to get in the middle of whatever this reunion is, but I think itâs time for our next trial.â
You furrowed your brows. âTrial?â You began to realize that you had no idea where you actually were.
âDuh, we are on the Witches Road, after all!â The teenage boy exclaimed, leaving you even more confused.
The road isnât real. You knew all about the song that Agatha had used to lure her victims in.Â
âWait, but-â you stopped yourself from questioning any further when you saw Rio subtly shake her head at you, a silent plea to not reveal the truth of the road to the group.
You nodded in understanding, deciding to save your questions for later. âAlright, whereâs the next trial?â
You looked up to see the group staring at something behind you. Agatha and Rio were particularly fascinated by it.
You turned around and your stomach dropped. You saw a cottage. Itâs covered in vines and moss, making it appear worn down. But you thought it was beautiful. Perhaps thatâs because it was yours. And Agathaâs. and Rioâs.
You looked at the path leading to the cottage. It was covered in flowers. You took a deep breath.
You just got here and already you were being given a trial.
As you and the rest of the coven approached the cottage, you couldnât help but turn to the women you desire the most for comfort.Â
Rio had an arm wrapped around Agathaâs waist, her thumb gently stroking the witchâs hip bone. Agatha looked up at her, smiling in gratitude, and Rio pressed a soft kiss to Agathaâs forehead.
Your stomach churned at the sight, and you felt bile rising in your throat. You painfully swallowed it back down, cringing at the effect it had on your throat, already raw from the thorns slowly tearing it to shreds.
âYou good?â The witch in the pink dress asked, and you nodded.
âYeah. Letâs just get this over with.â
The inside of the cottage looked just like you thought it would.
Home.
The same furniture, same pillows and blankets, same decor on the walls.
Your eyes filled with tears as you remembered all the time you had spent here with the women you loved more than anything.
âDoll,â a gentle voice said, and you turned to see Agatha looking at you softly. She approached you slowly, holding a hand out for you, but you took a step back.
âIâm fine,â you said, brushing your face and continuing to move through the house.
âThis is new,â you heard Rioâs voice from the room resembling your bedroom.Â
You entered and were greeted with a tapestry on your wall. It showed 5 flowers. Below the woven flowers was a message:
The words she never spoke will slowly begin to choke. For if they never cared, a life cannot be spared.
âItâs my life,â you breathed out, staring in horror at the plants on the tapestry.
Rio nodded, running her fingers along the tapestry as she identified the plants.
âLily. Rebirth,â she began.
âThe birth of your powers, the birth of you as a witch,â Agatha identified.
âWillow Tree. Loss.â
âThe loss of your kin. Being abandoned by those you called family,â Agatha continued.
âRed Carnations. Deep, affectionate love.â
Agatha went silent at this, her brows furrowing.
âDaffodil. Unrequited love.â
Rio and Agatha were visibly shaken by this point. What hadnât you told them? You were in love? With who?
Rio snapped her head to look at you upon seeing the last flower.
âPlumeria,â she said grimly.
Agathaâs eyes were wide. âWhat does that mean?âÂ
Rio only continued to look at you.
âRio, what does that mean???â
Her question was answered as you began to cough violently again, the sheer force of it bringing you to your knees.
Agatha rushed over to you in a panic. She looked at the rest of the coven in terror. âWhatâs happening to her?â she cried as you began to choke.
âThe words she never spoke will slowly begin to choke,â the teenager said.
âHanahaki disease,â the witch in pink breathed out.
âWhat the hell is that?â Agatha was crying now, watching as petals and thorns made their way out of your mouth covered in blood.
âA disease that affects someone facing unrequited love,â Rio said in realization.
As she put the pieces together she knelt in front of you in an instant, anger coursing through her.
âYou left because of this,â she said, her voice low, âYou thought we didnât love you, so you left?â she asked incredulously.
âDidnât wantâyou toâ-see me die,â you gasped out, fighting for air as you began to cough up more and more blood.
âYouâre not dying, Y/N. I wonât take you,â Rio choked out, her sorrow getting the best of her.Â
âBetter this way,â you managed, and Agatha choked out a sob.
âItâs not, doll, we love you, we love you,â she cried helplessly.
The whole coven stood in shock. The two women they feared the most were in the most pain they had seen since they began to walk the road.
Both women hold you tight, desperately trying to convince you of their love.
Rio grabbed your face to look at her. âThereâs a reason I took you in that day, mi vida,â she whispered as tears fell down her face, âI felt pulled to you. I knew you would be special to me. Aggie and I love you so much, please believe me.â
She leaned in and pressed her lips to yours, ignoring the blood and petals and thorns and focusing on you. Just you.
When she pulled away you gasped, finally able to gather air into your lungs.
Relief was visible throughout the entire coven. They had only just met you, but seeing how your existence being threatened had brought absolute devastation to two of the most intimidating women on earth had shaken them.
As you began to breathe again, you sagged against Agatha.
âYouâre okay, doll, youâre okay now,â she assured you as she gently ran a hand through your hair.
The door to the cottage slammed open, and the rest of the coven took it as their cue to leave, giving you three a moment to recover.
As you laid against Agatha, you looked at Rio with tired eyes. âSorry for getting blood on you,â you rasped, causing the woman to roll her eyes at you.
âYouâre such an idiot, you know that?â She scolded before taking both of your hands in hers. âI. Love. You.â
Tears filled your eyes at her earnest confession. âIâm so sorry I ran,â you began, your body shaking, âI saw the love you had for each other, and how much you had healed each other, and I couldnât hurt that. I didnât want you to see me die. It wouldnât have been your fault,â you said brokenly.
Agatha shushed you, kissing the top of your head. âYou shouldnât have run. It wouldâve saved us all 200 years of agony,â she said, and you hang your head in guilt.
But then you felt a cold hand lifting your chin. And suddenly you were 20 years old again, looking into the eyes of Lady Death herself.Â
But this time, instead of looking at you with curiosity, she looked at you with something much stronger. She looked at you with love.
âBut weâve got you back now,â she said, smiling tearfully at you, âso weâre taking you in. Is that okay?â
Your body wracked with sobs as you nodded, and both women were holding you in an instant. Your back was against Agathaâs front as her arms wrapped around your waist. Rio straddled you, her arms wrapping around your neck as she pulled you close.
And out of the cracked wooden floor of that cottage, something bloomed.
Lavender. Healing. Love.

The breakup didnât hurt as much as it bruised your pride. Youâd seen it coming from a mile away; in truth, you'd expected to be the one to call it off. But here you were, newly single, dumped, and, oddly, more aggravated than heartbroken. Frustration simmered under your skin, and in that moment, all you wanted was to vent to Seokmin, your best friend, the one person who could make everything right with his warm smile and endless patience. So, with little thought, you found yourself heading to his place unannounced.
When Seokmin answered the door, though, all thoughts of your ex fell away in a heartbeat.
He wasâŠdifferent. Shirtless, firstly, his bare torso, shining with a thin layer of sweat in the dim light of the hallway, just open and out there for you to gawk at. Your eyes began at his broad shoulders, down his sharp collarbones, lingering over his chocolatey nipples decorating his pecs, the defined lines of his abs -- he'd been really working lately, and it was showing now -- and of his sharp v dissapearing inside the elastic of his loosely hung grey sweat. god, those grey sweats, that as you ogled further, made obvious of the line of his dick (and god, that was BIG), and hence, the obvious lack of his underwear. you stared a second longer before your eyes snapped back up to his eyes.
Seokminâs eyes widened as he realized who was standing there, and his lips turned up in that familiar, disarming smile. âO-oh, uhm, hey⊠What brings you here?â
You tried to summon the words youâd rehearsed in your head, but suddenly they felt silly. The whole âI-just-got-dumped-and-Iâm-annoyedâ speech faded away as you took in the Seokmin in front of youâpowerfully attractive, and clearly freshly sexed with how good he smelled right now. The disheveled girl youâd passed in the lobby made sense now, and somehow, that knowledge made you feelâŠjealous?
It surprised you how badly you wanted to know if she meant something to him.
He seemed oblivious to your racing thoughts and gestured for you to come in. âIâll get you a drink. Come in, relax.â
Seokmin moved to his bedroom to grab a shirt, -- you'd lie if you said you didn't stare at his beautifully plump ass as he turned his back to you-- leaving you momentarily alone in the living room, your mind still reeling. It wasnât the time or place to entertain the fantasies that started to swirl in your headâimages of those strong hands on you, that laugh as he held you close, your fingers running along his jawline and his against your something else. But it was difficult not to feel the pull of attraction, now almost impossible to ignore.
He returned, looking a little more like the Seokmin you knew, wearing a simple pastel henley shirt. But every time your eyes flicked to his lips or the lingering sight of his toned body, the air between you felt charged with something new.
âAlright,â he said, handing you a warm cup of tea and giving you his full attention. âWhat happened?â
You tried to recount the breakup, but even to your ears, it sounded flat, a half-hearted retelling of events that didnât truly matter anymore. Every time you glanced his way, your eyes kept lingering over his features, imagining his hands on your skin. You barely registered the comforting words he offered about how you âdeserved so much betterâ and that your ex was clearly clueless to let you go.
Eventually, you found yourself retreating to the guest roomâyour room, as Seokmin always called it, since he kept it prepared just for you, cozy and warm. You tried to shake off the vivid daydreams filling your mind as you lied down on the bed, but it was no use. After what felt like hours of tossing and turning, your hands inside your pants, an attempt (and failing) to quell the ache that had only grown stronger with every new thought of Seokmin.
But it wasnât enough. Nothing seemed to ease the tension building inside you, not when every thought was filled with Seokminâs face, his body, his touch. If only he was touching you with his own fingers.
Frustrated, you found yourself standing, almost as if on autopilot, and made your way to his bedroom. You hesitated for just a moment, but the need inside you pushed you forward. Seokmin glanced at you from his bed and before either of you knew, you were on top of him, your knees trapping his hips on either side, your hands pinning his, your faces close. he didn't stop you. you took that as sign to lean in closer and felt his breath hitch, his heart eating faster, eyes wide as your hair brushed against the side of his face. "y/n..."
âGod, Seokmin,â you whispered, "whats wrong with me. why are you making me so damn wet..."
"I-i?" His question was so stupid. Of course him. Of course its him with that fucking sex-god body. His knee raised, thigh proding between your legs, making you whine.
"Yes, you. You are the one whos made me this wet, and now you need to take care of it."
Thats the only words seokmin needed before he flips you over on your back, getting on top of you. "Can I?"
the audacity to even ask that. You didnt bother an answer, just pulled him by the neck, capturing his lips with yours. He moaned in your mouth. you both kissed each other with such passion that made you wonder if Seokmin had thought of kissing you like this before. you two looked less like kissing and more like two snakes trying to bite into each other's mouth. when he pulled away, it was only to breathe, because you both did forget to breathe with how hot that kiss was.
You took that chance to flip him back. you began kissing down his neck, down his shoulders, making him moan and gasp and yelp everytime you bit too hard. you sucked on the would and licked it nastily, marking him yours with how dark the marks were gonna get. you pulled his shirt off and threw it aside, almost with anger, because how dare his shirts hide that god-bod from you for so long. you instantly bit his nipples, making seokmin gasp, fingers tightening in your hair. you licked over his nipple again, relishing in the sweat and metal-y taste.
you continued biting and licking and kissing and marking him, moving lower and lower till you reached the hem of his sweats. you looked up at him with half lidded eyes as you slid your tongue along his hardened length through the fabric of his sweats, watching his head throwing back with a gasp. "God, Seokmin, you're so damn slutty, still not wearing any underwear. You must wanna flaunt this to me, don't you?"
you gave a oen mouthed kiss over his crotch, wetting the fabric and making it even thinner.
"I-i, no, fuck. y/n, ngh, s-slow down." he was beyond forming coherent words as you sucked over his length from over his sweats, the taste of his precum almost immediately hitting your tongue. "Feel so good, aah-"
His words faded into a soft gasp as you pressed your lips over him again, just firm enough to make him shiver, his resolve unraveling with every slow, deliberate touch. Each press of your mouth felt electric, like a spark building between you both, until he was gripping the edge of the bed, breath catching in shallow bursts.
When you finally hooked your fingers into the waistband of his sweats and began to pull them down, his anticipation was palpable. His length was hard and flushed, wet with your spit and his precum that leaked enough to make it look like he already came, and you felt a surge of confidence seeing how much he was affected by you. you took him whole in your mouth, going down on him till you could feel his tip hitting the back of your throat.
He groaned, his hands curling in the sheets, and you could feel every inch of his reaction, his muscles tensing under your touch. With every movement, every teasing glide, he became more and more undone, his breathing shallow and quick. you bobbed your head up and down, the obscene gurgling noise loud as you swallowed around him. He came soon, down your throat without any warning except the exceptionally loud and beautifully broken cry from his mouth. you coughed as you pulled out, grinning mischievously as you opened your mouth and showed him that you drank it all up.
Seokminâs chest heaved, his eyes barely open as he lay there, still catching his breath. But you werenât about to let him rest. Without a word, you moved over him, your fingers of one hand grazing his shoulders, holding him down as you settled in his lap, your other hand holding his dick up as you sat on it. His body was still sensitive, and the moment you pressed your hips down, a soft, helpless sound escaped him.
"Sensitive much, Minnie?â you murmured, leaning close, a hint of mischief in your tone. His cheeks flushed, but he couldnât look away, his hands instinctively coming to your hips as he tried to steady himself, clearly caught off guard by your boldness.
But you werenât giving him a moment to adjust. As you moved, he let out a moan, his hands gripping your waist a little tighter, unable to keep himself from reacting to every movement. His eyes were hazy, completely overwhelmed, and as you leaned down, your fingers found their way into his hair, tugging just enough to make him look up at you.
âBy the way,â you whispered, a teasing smile playing on your lips. âWho was the girl in the elevator earlier? A girlfriend? Casual fling? A friend with benefits I don't know about?â
His eyes went wide, and you saw a flicker of nervousness there, breath hitching as he tried to answer. âN-no, it was a tinder match. We just⊠It was nothing serious, justâŠyou knowâŠâ His voice trailed off, his cheeks turning pinker as he tried to find the words. "Some handsy stuff, that's all."
Your smirk grew, and you gave his hair another gentle tug, making him meet your gaze fully. âNothing serious, huh?â You leaned down, your voice a whisper against his lips. âYou're such a slut, baby, getting two girls in your bed in the same night, and still being so needy.â
That comment had him flustered, his cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red as he stammered out something incoherent, his hips betraying him as they jerked upward instinctively. "Y-you're the one fucking your best friend the first night after your b-breakup!" Seokmin attempted to fight back, but it was still useless, and it made you chuckle cruelly. It was clear he was lost to the moment, every word from you pulling him deeper under your spell, his reactions belying just how much he was enjoying the teasing.
You didnât let up, watching as he tried to hold back his reactions, utterly captivated by you, his every breath quickening as you took full control of the moment. Each movement, each teasing word left him completely at your mercy, a sight you could get used to.
You leaned back, riding him faster, earning a stuttering long whimper from him. His fingers reached between your legs, touching your clit to bring you as close to orgasm as he was. His other hand slipping upwards, grabbing one of your boobs gently squeezing.
"Y-y/n! Nghh- I am cumming again." Seokmin said, eyes shut of embarrassment, cheeks flushed and chest heaving. You would tease his state more, if not for how close to cumming you were yourself. "I wanna cum with you."
Your hips rolled faster, seokmin's own hips jerking up to meet yours, impatient. With a shared guttereal moan you both came. You collapsed on his chest, your hips still rolling slowly, riding out the waves of pleasure.
You lazily looked up at Seokmin. Red swollen lips, sweaty blushed cheeks and droopy eyes staring back at you. Face fucked. As much as you loved your sweet, innocent-looking best friend Seokmin, you could do get used to this version of him. Maybe have something more with him.

Clumsy Corporals
Pairing: Ghost x Reader
Summary: Someone takes a tumble in Ghost's bathroom, leaving him to clean up the mess.
Warnings: Angst, attempted assault, language, violence, injuries, fluff, murder(?), Nudity,
Word Count: 2.2K
A/n: fun fact - this is the first instalment for Ghost and Mouse that I ever wrote, and everything else kinda fell into place around this which I think is beautiful
A/n2: Posting this cause I feel like I just wanna escape reality a lot now and maybe some of you do too.
~*~
"Johnny told me you didn't join 'em for dinner again," Ghost says after closing the door to his quarters.
He can hear the shower running and shakes his head, following the sound and pushing open the ajar door.
"How are they supposed to warm up to you if..." the words die on his tongue almost comically as he takes in the scene before him.
You're curled up in a ball on the bathroom counter, bloodied hands clutching a towel tightly around what appears to be your naked body.
On the ground is Corporal Jacobs, a knife through the underside of his chin and a pool of blood around his head.
His lifeless eyes are open, and your eyes are focused on his body as if waiting for him to get up, to move, to attack.
Ghost surveys the scene quickly, taking in the marks around your neck, the blood on your hairline, and the cut on your cheek.
"What happened?"
He doesn't need to ask, but he does anyway.
Your bottom lip quivers, and for a moment he's not sure if you even heard him. You don't flinch, your breathing doesn't change, and you don't lift your eyes from the corpse on the ground.
"Mouse. Eyes on me."
Your gaze finally snaps to his and you suck in a sharp breath as if realizing his presence for the first time.
He inspects your face once more, swallowing his rage when he sees the bruise blooming by your eye.
"What happened here?" He nods to the body on the ground.
You follow his gaze and he watches intently as your fists tighten and you swallow hard. Your lip quivers so fast it nearly vibrates, but you take a deep breath and eventually speak.
"He fell."
He thinks he's misheard you at first, glancing between the dead man and you.
He kneels down and grabs hold of the hilt of the knife stuck under the man's chin. A knife that Ghost distinctly remembers you taking from him a long while ago.
"He fell?" He asks, tilting the dead man's head to the side and grinding his teeth together at the claw marks on the side of his face.
You put up quite the fight. He'd be proud if he wasn't so filled with fury.
You slowly lift your eyes to his and his stone heart cracks a bit at the unshed tears he sees.
"Yes," you whisper.
He watches you for a breath longer then nods slowly, looking back down to the mess on the bathroom floor.
"Looks like he took quite the tumble, hmm? Silly prick, s'what you get for running with knives."
A weight lifts slightly off of your shoulders and you nod, wiping a tear off of your cheek with a bloody hand, leaving a mess in your wake.
"Now, did he fall before or after your shower?"
You swallow hard before answering, shaking your head as if trying to get rid of the memory of what happened.
"Before." Your voice is so quiet, quieter than usual, and he finds himself straining to hear you.
He pieces together all that he can with what's before him, and quickly comes up with a plan.
"It's late, little one. How's about you finish your shower, and-"
"No!"
He's taken aback by the force of your words, the ferocity of them. The terror in your eyes is twice as surprising.
"No shower?" He clarifies, glancing at the running water, no doubt cold by now.
You shake your head, confirming his words, and he nods his understanding.
Slowly, he stands up and turns the water off, then takes a step toward you.
"New plan. You sit right here, and I stay with you. I'll call Price and Johnny to come clean this up. How's that sound?" He asks, his eyes locked on yours.
You think about it for a long moment then slowly nod, leaning into his hand when he pushes some of your hair back.
A soft sigh leaves his lips and he leans forward, placing a soft kiss to your hairline before stepping back to send a quick generic text to the two men he trusts most.
Pipe burst in my quarters. Get here now.
It takes a minute and a half for Price to get there, two minutes for Soap.
"I'm gonna go meet them at the door, Mouse, but I won't be out of eyeshot, okay? Keep your eyes on me the whole time. That's an order."
You nod carefully, your eyes never leaving his as he takes calculated steps backward out of the bathroom to meet the other men at the door.
"What's going on, Lt?" Soap's gruff voice asks quietly.
The huge man takes a slow step back, allowing the two into his room.
Each man does a sweep of the room, their eyes finally landing on the bathroom and the bloody scene within.
"Fuckin' hell," Soap murmurs, rubbing his jaw.
"What happened?" Price asks quietly, looking at you skeptically.
Your eyes, however, are still locked onto Ghost's.
Ghost gives you a gentle nod then glances over at his teammates, his friends.
"He fell."
"What the bloody hell was he doin' in 'ere in the first place?" Soap asks, slowly walking toward the bathroom to inspect.
His eyes take you in, take in the blood on your hands, the bruising wrapping like a necklace around your neck.
"I think I have an idea," is Ghost's grunted reply.
Your eyes are on the Scot as he steps into the bathroom. Your breath hitches and you scoot back on the counter the tiniest bit.
"Easy, Mouse. Johnny's just gonna help clean up. You can trust him, remember?"
Soap looks up at you and gives you a gentle smile, his own anger rising when he sees more of the damage on your soft face.
"You've saved my arse. More than once, I imagine. S'only fair I help clean up after the poor man's fall," he says gently.
You watch him for a long while then slowly nod, sniffling then wiping your face against your arm, only to hiss at the unexpected pain.
"Why don't you let the Lieutenant get you patched up, sweetheart, hmm? Let Soap and I deal with this?" Price offers, stepping into the doorway.
You look between the three of them then nod again, watching in awe as they move like a well-oiled machine.
Soap takes a step further into the bathroom and Price steps out of it, making way for Ghost to walk in and carefully scoop you up in his arms.
He carries you from the bathroom and sits you down on his desk, turning his back for just long enough to grab a first aid kit.
Price and Soap immediately get to work in the bathroom as Ghost gets to work tending to your -visible- wounds.
He starts with your face, spraying a gentle antiseptic onto the cut on your cheek.
Your eyes stay focused on his as he works, and every now and then he meets your gaze.
The bathroom door opens but you don't look away from Ghost as Price and Soap shuffle by.
Ghost, however, takes a pause and shoots a glance over his shoulder.
"Dump 'im outside. I'll do the rest."
They don't question him.
The only thing allowing him to keep a level head right now is the promise of chopping that pathetic piece of shit's body up into a thousand unrecognizable pieces and feeding him to the stray dogs in the city.
But he needs to make sure you're taken care of, first.
"When we're done here, Johnny will get you a snack while I take care of... our friend. Okay?" Though it's posed like a question, you know he's telling you what's happening and leaving little room to argue.
The door shuts with a soft click, leaving the two of you alone.
"Are you hurt anywhere else?" He asks, scooting back to inspect you as much as he can.
You swallow hard and glance down, shrugging.
"I know you don't want to, but I think you should shower. I'll be right outside the door, won't let anyone in. I swear."
You look at him with wide eyes and shake your head.
"Come with me?" You finally ask, looking toward the bathroom as if it's where nightmares spawn.
For you, it is.
His brows draw together.
"You want me to sit in there with you?"
You shake your head again.
"In the water... please?"
Realization dawns on him and he's not too sure how to feel.
"You want me to shower with you?"
You nod, dainty fingers sliding over his wrist almost absentmindedly.
He doesn't have the heart to refuse you. To tell you that the shower is hardly big enough to fit him comfortably, let alone the both of you.
Instead, he just nods and helps you to your feet.
He's gentle with you, alarmingly so, as he helps you into the -now clean- bathroom, locking the door and turning the shower on.
You lean against the counter, towel held tightly around your body as he undresses swiftly.
When he's naked, he reaches a hand out to you and waits patiently for you to drop your towel, then steadies you as you step into the shower.
You barely made it this far before Corporal Jacobs-
Your thoughts are cut off by Simon stepping into the shower behind you, big warm hand holding your hip gently.
His chest presses against your back, the tiny shower even tinier now that it accommodates two.
"You okay, pretty mouse?" He asks, arms winding around your waist.
You shrug, leaning into him for a moment before slowly turning around to look up at him.
His eyes find yours, reading you, hearing the words you don't have the strength to say out loud, and then he's pressing his forehead against yours.
"You did good, little one. M'proud of you. Next time let me kill him, though. Poor bastard got off too easy, thinkin' he can go around n' touch what's mine. 'sides, don't need any blood on your pretty hands."
Your lip quivers and you tug your head away to lean it against his chest.
"Was scared," you whisper after a moment.
"Yeah, I bet."
"Of you," you add after a moment, not lifting your head even when you feel him stiffen.
"Why?" He finally asks, the fingers of his right hand trailing up and down your spine.
"Thought you... would not listen. Would think it was me."
His hand snakes up your back to grab your hair, tugging your head back gently and forcing you to look up at him.
His face is bare for your viewing pleasure, the steam the only thing between the two of you.
"Do you understand how much you mean to me? 've killed for you, love. 'n I'd do it again in a heartbeat, without question."
A silent tear slips down your cheek and is quickly lost in the humidity of the bathroom.
No more words are spoken for the rest of the shower.
He helps you gently wash your hair and your body, taking note of every scratch and bruise that wasn't there when he left you this morning.
Every new mark on your soft supple skin is another piece he's going to be cutting Jacob's body into, and he cannot wait.
But he needs to take care of his Mouse first.
When your fingers start to prune and the water is running a little cold, Simon helps you out of the shower and wraps a towel around you tightly.
He ushers you out of the bathroom, sitting you on the bed while he dries himself and tugs on some clothes.
After that, his focus is entirely on you. He dries you off gently, his eyes focused on yours the entire time, and you can't help but melt into his touch.
He helps you into one of his shirts then slides a pair of socks onto your feet.
"Do you want some water?" He asks quietly, his warm hands on your bare knees.
You shake your head, reaching forward and sliding your fingers over his thick shoulders.
"Want you. Stay."
He obeys, climbing into bed with you.
You curl up against him, nuzzling your head under his chin and taking deep comforting breaths of his scent.
He holds you against him until you fall asleep, moving only when his phone vibrates from its spot on the ground beside the bed.
Reaching for it slowly, careful not to move you too much, he scoops it up off the ground and reads the message quickly.
He sets his phone down and gingerly rolls you out of his arms, tucking you in tightly and then silently getting dressed.
He shoots you one last look once he's all dressed and ready, then slips out the door, shutting it tightly behind himself.
Soap stands outside the door, silently nodding to his Lieutenant, then turning his back to the door - keeping guard.
No words are spoken as the skull-faced man heads out to the coordinates on his phone. No questions are asked when he returns hours later with his sweater and gloves discarded and the faint smell of fire in his hair.
And when you wake up and start asking questions, he's sure to kiss them away and reassure you that you're safe. That Corporal Jacobs will never lift a finger to harm you again.
How can he? All ten are chopped off and sprinkled in different parts of the city.
Let that be a lesson to the next idiot who tries to harm his sweet little Mouse.

The Sad Fate of Roman War Veterans and How the Punic Wars Destroyed the Roman Middle Class
There's no question that Rome's victory over Carthage during the Punic Wars drastically changed the Roman Republic. Perhaps the most apparent change was Rome's ascendancy from a smaller power in Italy to the dominant power in the Mediterranean. In other words, a big fish in a small pond, to a big fish in a literal big pond. In the span of 120 years Roman territory expanded by vast amounts followed by further Roman expansionism resulting in Roman territory stretching from Spain and North Africa in the west to Greece and Anatolia in the east.
While the Punic Wars would transform Rome into an (e)mpire militarily, it also transformed Roman socio-economic structures. The early Roman Republic had no standing professional armies. Instead to wage war Rome used a militia system with citizen soldiers who were called up as needed. Since the state had no role in equipping soldiers, it was up to soldiers to equip themselves. Roman lower classes were exempt from military service since they could not afford weapons, armor, or supplies while the Roman upper class served as officers or elite cavalrymen. Thus, the responsibility for providing the rank and file infantry of the army fell to the Roman middle class. The Roman middle class consisted of some skilled artisans and small business owners, but by far most of the Roman middle class were farmers who owned small plots of land.
Up until the Punic Wars, this system worked fine as war was a small, short, local event that occurred within the confines of central and southern Italy. A Roman soldier didn't have far to travel from home as the enemy was within easy marching distance away. War was also a seasonal affair where the fighting occurred on the off season, then a truce was called so that soldiers could tend their farms during the growing season, with the war resuming once the crops were harvested. Now Roman soldiers were expected to be shipped to far off places such as Africa, Spain, Greece, Macedonia, and Anatolia. Whereas before wars were short seasonal affairs, now wars seemed to last forever with no recesses so that soldiers can tend their farms. Both the first and second Punic Wars nearly lasted two decades each. And war was everywhere as the Punic Wars involved multiple fronts all over the Mediterranean. No longer were Roman wars short, small, localized affairs. In the meantime while soldiers were away fighting, their fields were fallow and their businesses had fallen into disrepair. The Republic tried to mitigate the financial strains of the Punic Wars on its soldiers by paying a stipend. However it was not enough to prevent financial disaster. When the war ended and Rome's veterans returned home in triumph, they were broke and impoverished.
In order to make ends meet or pay off debt, most had to sell off their land to wealthy landholders, who consolidated that land into large estates and plantations. Many who sold their land became tenant farmers on the land that they had previously owned. Others moved to the city and tried to eek out a living as a laborer, however the price of labor was plummeting as Rome had taken tens of thousands of slaves during the Punic Wars and were taking tens of thousands more in various wars across the Mediterranean. War veterans found that there was no place for them in Roman society. Their farms and businesses were gone, and there was no need for their labor due to the sudden influx of slaves. Wealthy Roman elites had taken control of most of the Republic's land and wealth while a large percentage of the middle class were booted into poverty.
The result of everything I have previously described was a massive and ever growing rift between the rich and the poor as wealth became more and more concentrated at the top. This event became a hot button issue in Roman politics with Roman government being dominated between two unofficial political parties; the optimates, or those who supported the interests of the Roman elite, and the populares, or those who supported the interests of the common Roman. The clash between the optimates and populares led to increasing political instability resulting in the rise of demagogues and dictators. Civil war became common, and eventually the Roman Republic fell, giving rise to the Roman Empire.

A Body Stealer Tale: A Capture To Remember
When I arrived in Italy, I found out my camera was broken from the travel. Frustrated, I wandered through Italy until I found a small, dusty shop tucked between old buildings. Inside, an elderly shopkeeper offered me an old camera model, calling it "special." I was desperate, so I bought it, not realizing just how âspecialâ this camera would actually be.
Iâd only been in Italy for a day when I spotted himâan absolute Adonis. I was just wandering through the cobbled streets of the old town, camera in hand, getting lost in the architecture and the vibes, taking photos of every old building I saw. Suddenly, there he was: this hot Italian guy walking alone past me. I couldnât resist. I knew it was a little risky, but I raised my new camera to grab a quick shot of him without him noticing.
I mean, I would never see him again after that, so I should as well capture the moment to remember.
But then, the moment I pressed the shutter, there was a flash of bright light. It wasnât from my camera. It was like a white ball of light bursting out from the man's back and zipping straight into my camera, vanishing without a trace.
And before I could even gasp, his whole body crumpled like a pile of clothes, totally hollowed out. I blinked, trying to make sense of what I was seeing. I mean, there was this whole empty Italian guy lying there on the streetâskin, hair, face, everythingâbut no bones, no organs, nothing inside. Just a bodysuit.
I just stood there, completely dumbfounded, staring at the bodysuit that had been a whole man only seconds before. Luckily, there was no one on the street but me, which honestly was a miracle. My heart was racing, but curiosity got the better of me. I glanced around, making sure I was alone, and slowly crouched down, reaching out to touch the hollowed man's face. It was surreal, it felt smooth, soft, and very real, I mean... it was real. As I caressed his stubble beard and admired his slack empty face, I noticed an opening on his nape. Curious, I pulled his sagging head by the hair and noticed a small opening on his back, it was the exact place where the ball of light had come out of him.
An idea popped into my headâcompletely insane, but somehow, I knew I had to do it. Before I could second-guess myself, I slipped off my shoes and started undressing right there on the sidewalk. Yeah, risky, but I wasnât gonna let this opportunity slip away.
One leg at a time, I stepped into the suit's open hole, pulling his muscular calves and thighs over my own legs. The fabricâno, the *skin*âwrapped around me like a second layer. I could feel his muscles molding to my shape as I slid my arms into his and finally tugged his handsome face over mine like a mask.
Then⊠something amazing happened. I could feel the strength of his body taking over, the weight of his muscles filling me up, the opening in his back closing, and even his face settling into place over mine. I wasnât just wearing himâI *was* him.
I glanced down and saw those fit pecs, those ripped abs, and a big flaccid cock that now belonged to me. The guy was very hung, I thought.
I couldn't help but give my new cock a few strokes. I chuckled at the thought of someone walking and seeing this stud jerking off naked on the street.
But I wasn't in the mood to spend my new hot body in an Italian jail, so I grabbed the man's jeans from the ground and pulled them back up. His wallet fell out of his pocket, so I grabbed it and looked for his ID.
"Luca Moretti, 23 years old," It said.
Well, I guess that's my new name for now, I thought as I put a shirt on.
I grabbed the camera from the ground and looked at the lens, my eyes squinted as I tried to look inside for any sign of life, "Hello? Do you hear me?" I waited for a response and chuckled at how ridiculous I looked talking to a camera. I was about to put it inside my backpack when I heard a distant voice in my head. It was a male voice, and it was screaming in Italian.
"Che cazzo sta succedendo? Non sento piĂč nulla⊠posso solo vedere attraverso questa maledetta lente! Ma cosa mi Ăš successo? Sono intrappolato qui dentro? Non puĂČ essere vero⊠Aiuto! Qualcuno mi tiri fuori da qui, vi prego!"
I couldn't understand what he was sayingâI don't speak Italian! I gazed into the lens, letting a look of gentle compassion soften my new features.
"I'm sorry man, I can't understand what you're saying. But it looks like that's your new home now. Your body is mine and It's going to be so fun being you, I hope you don't have a girlfriend because I'm really going to put this ass to use. But don't worry though, I will make sure you get some company soon."
I put the camera inside my backpack and casually walked away as if Iâd always been him. Iâd never felt this confident in my life, and proof of that was the huge bulge I proudly displayed in my jeans. This is going to be one unforgettable trip.
Next time, I won't be taking photos of old buildings, but of hot men whose bodies I want to capture.

Blood burned through the skin on your arm. The pain a distant thought as you shoved the long spear into the chest of sickly, black monster. Black tendrils poured from its head. Four weirdly shaped mandibles. A long rigidly tail with a sharpened end made for stabbing. One that looked like it had crawled out of the depths of hell to come after anyone vulnerable. A demon in the flesh.
It almost looked like the beast you had protected a deadly blow from. But this thing⊠it was ten times worse.
The pain nearly grew to a point you couldnât hold onto the spear for much longer. It slipped from your blood drenched hands. But, the point was still lodged deep into the chest of the screeching beast. You panted and backed away until the back of your foot met resistance. The creature you had just saved still lay on the ground, hopefully not dead. Or all of this wouldâve been for naught.
Your arms stung with each passing moment, the pain mounting higher and higher. The adrenaline that once filled your system began to slowly deflate. You swallowed back the thick saliva in the back of your throat. Yet, not once did your eyes leave the beast as it backed away and clawed at the spear. Thankfully, it was barbed and refused to move from deep within it.
As if the life that once filled its body vanished in a second, it crumpled to the ground in a pile. A few twitches was all it gave before finally coming to still. Dead.
Everything hurt. Your chest heaved for air. Your mind tried to reel in every thought you had. Your heart thundered loud and clear in its bony cage. It took everything you had not to let your knees collapsed under your own weight. You slowly glanced at the down creature at your feet. His shoulder slowly rose and fell with each breath. A deep sigh of relief sounded from you.
Now, came a new problem. To move him. This place wasnât safe. Other people would soon come. The government would easily snatch the two of you up in a heartbeat. One to silence you. He would become an experiment for whatever they wanted. You couldnât have that. Not when he looks so sad in the state that he was in. You turned around and squatted at his side. A poke to his uninjured gave no results. Not even the next five. He was out cold.
This was unfortunately circumstances. He was at least seven feet tall and three times your weight easily. Deadweight was harder to move than someone giving some assistance.
With might and will, you used a tarp you had randomly found to hook under his arms. It was just strong enough to help you pull him through the foliage of the forest. After a hundred yards, you could no longer move. The exhaustion in your muscles, in your soul was far too deep. This all started this morning and it was deep into the night. The full moon shing ominously above the land. You collapsed harshly onto bruised knees and cut up palms. There was nothing more you could give to save him or yourself. You did what you could before the darkness consumed your vision and took away your conscious.
The gentle sway is the first thing you awoke to with a groggy groan. The crust in your eyes made it uncomfortable to open them. You rubbed it away with a shaky, weak arm before opening them.
Bright light blinded you from the first thing you saw. A groan tumbling out of your throat. Pain met you that same moment, racing up from your forearms. The rest of you throbbed with an ache that would take ten hot baths to finally chip away at it. You squinted through the sunlight and noticed a familiar red. Your hand reached up timidly and touched at the thick scales you could feel under your fingertips.
Big Red. The creature you had saved. You tilted your head back. He was facing forward, eyes hidden by the mandibles that covered half of his face. But the missing one was a familiar sight.
âY-youâre al-ive,â you croaked out, voice harsh to even your own foggy ears. Your hand dropped down to your stomach, unable to hold up its own weight anymore. The grunt he made you felt it rather than heard it from his own mouth.
Your face cracked with a tiny grin. At least you hadnât failed on that front while fighting something you didnât know existed. A demon in the flesh. Your wrecked body trembled. A sight you hoped to never be face to face with again.
Through your blurry vision, he was marching quickly through the forest despite a noticeable limp to his gait. A table had been thrown at him, striking him direction on his shin when he jumped to block it. There wasnât a loud crack of bone but it was possible it had only been fractured. You hummed and lazily drew patterns on his midriff, mind still foggy.
A rumbled vibrated through his chest and drew your attention to stop. Thatâs when the lightbulb above your head finally sprouted to life. Your lips pressed together while you looked away from him, eyes nearly bulging out. Heat flashed to life upon your cheeks.
Big Red moved across the forest, rarely taking breaks during the whole day. Only to stop at a creek and scoop water into his strangely constructed mouth. He would set you down and let you finally move around. It was hard at first, trying to get the blood flowing back in your limbs. Nor did your muscles want to listen. But, you did what you could and drank from the fresh creek. Anything to quench the dryness in your throat.
It was back to him carrying you in the bridle position and marching away. At points, you would take naps, needing the extra energy to recuperate from the days events.
At dusk, Big Red stopped and set you down. There was no creek or source of water. You had to lean heavily against the base of a tree with a shoulder. Your forearms were covered with scorch marks from the acidic blood that had landed on them. The pain from them was the only thing that kept you on your feet, giving you enough adrenaline to stay alert.
He limped away from you, leaving you behind. Fear gripped your heart that had taken you further into the forest only to abandoned you. After all you had- he stopped and pressed a button on the metal band that covered half of his forearm. You heard a hiss echo through the air and furrowed your brows.
Like a in a sci-fi movie, a large object revealed itself to your very eyes. Your jaw dropped when it came to mind it was a spacecraft. From Star Wars!
The creature came back over to you and easily scooped your weakened form up. Big Red carried you over where a ramp had come down. White steam came from the hydraulics in a dramatic manner. You tried to take everything. The information overload caused the pressure in your skull to tenfold. You groaned and curled up against his chest as if heâll protect you from inward pain.
With your eyes closed, you missed all the important, interesting details no one has probably seen before. You whined and scrunched up your face as if thatâll push the pain away.
Warmth touched at your rear and brought you back to the present. You squinted and find yourself in a different room you couldnât find a name for. Big Red had set you down on a table with many tools already on it. To which he was pushing off of the side to give you more room. He reached to the side and grabbed hold a box and set it down next to you. You watched as the box was open to reveal different items. None of them you could really figure out were for.
A moment of trust. It wasnât like you could fight him in your circumstances. He could easily overpower you and subject you to whatever he wanted.
Instead, he grabbed some sort of gun with a need. You gulped at the size of the needle and strange blue liquid that filled the containment hanging off of the back. Either he didnât notice or just ignored the fear gripping your heart. Big Red plunged the needle without hesitation into your shoulder. You grimaced at the slight pinched but otherwise, stayed still.
The needle was pulled free from your muscles and set off to the side. Next, he grabbed a white jar and untwisted the top. A sulfuric smell poured out of the jar. You gagged and used your shirt to cover your nose. âOh my god, what is-is that?â you croaked out with disgust written all over your face.
Red stopped and tilted his head up. The golden mask on his features prevented you from seeing his true feelings.
âIt is hurt,â he grumbled out, shocking you from hearing his voice for the first time. It wasnât as deep as you thought but enough to send a tremble up the length of your spine. Your thoughts got you caught up in the moment before you shook them free. You cocked your head to the side. Hurt? Of course your arms hurt. Theyâve been burned with acid.
White paste coated his fingertips before he slathered the burns in it.
The scream that curdled from your throat shocked him too. You jerked away and nearly slid off of the table before he caught you. Big Red forced you back onto the table and held you down. âOoman! Calm! Calm. At ease,â his voice cut through the pain that burned through your veins. It was just enough to get you to finally focus on him again.
âI say it hurt,â he muttered then slowly let go of you when your muscles relaxed. Your body didnât have the energy to fight anymore. Not even enough adrenaline could keep you going.
A fiery glare was set ablaze on the big, dark red alien. âI thought you were saying if I was hurting!â you yelled at him, arms drawn up to your chest. In case he may go for a second round without asking first.
A huff came from underneath the metal mask. âPaste heals but⊠hurts.â The words didnât come naturally to him. He struggled to find them but you understood what he was getting to.
âWell, do you have something that doesnât hurt like a bitch?â you snarked at him, in hopes to find a nice soothing paste. Not the one that made you feel like you were stepping on hot coals.
âNo. Just this.â Ah, he didnât get the sarcasm that was thick in your voice. You sighed, face scrunched up again from the pain this caused you. âLet me?â Big Red held out a waiting hand, letting you have the choice to either get an infection or deal with more pain. A groan sounded from your tired form before you roughly set one forearm in his palm.
âBetter warning next time,â you mumbled and tensed up. An agony you didnât want to experience but it meant for your life to survive. Then, so be it.
It was a pain youâve never felt before.
The healing process took half as long as you thought. A couple of months turned into only a month until Daiâstbaen, the big, red alien, deemed you healed enough. Even letting you stay longer just to make sure you had no lasting injuries.
Today would be your last night with him. Daiâstbaen said he would fly you back to your home before setting off home bound. The last time you would see the towering beast in all of his glory. And you felt heartbroken to see him leave. You wish for him to take you but couldnât go through with the idea of leaving everything behind. Not your friends or family who had to be worried sick about you at this point.
Countless times, he had made you promise and even created a mark on your skin to ensure you wouldnât tell his secret. To let the whole world know that aliens, the Yautjas, exist. Dai told you it was against his code to let you live but you had saved him. That was a higher offense to kill someone who had saved his life. So, he had to slip out of your bed that night and back into his ship. Where he flew off into the stars, to never be seen again.
The ache he left you made it difficult to walk the next few days. All the marks he left on you a remind of what he could make you feel. A distance feeling after the days go by without him there with you.
After the first week back home, you had lost your job, finally calmed down your family and friends, and was barely able to skim on past in your lonely apartment. It felt better when Daiâstbaen was there with you, even if it was just for that night.
Things for first month was difficult, even after you were able to pick up a job that was remote work. It paid well enough to keep a roof over your head and food in your stomach.
Well until you missed your period. Thatâs when your heart dropped down into the apartment below you.
You raced to the nearest Walgreens and picked up a test. The cashier gave you a certain expression at the distant look in your eyes. All of your thoughts were running rampant through your mind. It had to be impossible. Truly, it really had to be. He wasnât human!
The first place you went to back home was in your bathroom, tearing open the package. Then, you stopped just shy of sitting down on the toilet. Your eyes looked at yourself in the mirror. The distraught in your features from the horror of the situation. It had to be from the stressfulness of the situation you had just survived from. That what it had to be. But⊠even while in his care on his spacecraft, you had been hit by your period. God, that freaked him out when he smelt the fresh blood. Which⊠in turn freaked you out learning he could smell it. Like a dog.
Your hands lowered the unopened test to the counter. No. You shook your head. No, this wasnât real. This was happening because of stress. It finally caught up to you. Your head nodded. Yeah, thatâs what it had to be. You placed the unopened pregnancy test back into the box and shoved it into a random drawer. That would be needed at a different time. Not now. Because it was impossible.
Until you missed a second period. Even then, you tried to push off that feeling that there was something wrong with you. It was from stress. New job, new duties, new scars, new life. Everything to create a hell storm to recuperate from. Of course your uterus wouldnât want to put you through anymore stress than needed.
At the same time of the next month, going into the wintery months, not a drop of blood.
That night, after work, you stood in the bathroom, hands holding the unopened test again. Your hands shook while looking down at the package. Every part of your mind tried to reason with all the other excuses youâve given before. Stress. Job. Nearly being killed. Scars. Each one circling through the turn style until they fell away.
Just get it over with.
In front of the mirror, you turned to the side and lifted up the front of shirt. Your brows furrowed. There was a little weight loss when you first returned, eating practically just meat and little greens. Now⊠was that a slight bulge in your stomach? You could feel yourself on the verge of crying.
A child. There couldnât be a chance you were pregnant with the alien you had a one-night stand with. He wasnât coming back. You would be left alone to take care of the child. Then, thereâs the fact it would half alien! How would they look? More like you or Daiâstbaen. There would be no way for them to live a normal life of going to school or having friends. And yourself. A child who could never step out into the light.
For the first time in the last three months, you plopped down on the toilet and took the test.
Each passing second, each passing heartbeat worsened everything feeling swirling inside of you. Every thought ran wild.
There were two sides to the coin. The more logical side. A hybrid alien baby couldnât be possible. Let alone on the only time you were with him. It didnât matter the three or four times he knotted you. That was a surprise. Very pleasant. Yet, there was also the fact you werenât having your period the last three months. Surely, your body shouldâve figured itself out at this point.
As the test did its process, you paced through the tiny bathroom squeezed into your one bedroom apartment. One of your hands ran through your locks, messing up the strands. It was all you could do to stop looking at the test every two seconds.
Two minutes passed until you took another glance and stopped in your tracks. Plus. A plus sign. You covered your mouth and backed into the nearest wall. Tears welled in your eyes.
Fear gripped your heartstrings. This was to be your life now. A mother with a hybrid child who couldnât be normal. God, why did he have to leave!? Why did you have to fall for the alien?!
That night, you cried hard, curled up into a ball on the bathroom floor.
One good thing in your life was the fact your job just required you to sit in a chair and play customer service. There was no going out of your house and being heavily pregnant. To people wanting to know every single detail about the pregnancy and the child.
After the sixth month, you truly picked yourself up by your big pants and made a plan. It had to a home birth. No one could know. Not unless they take your child away. Over your dead body.
Supplies had been purchased, for the most part. Only a couple of onesies, a crib, some toys, and lots and lots diapers. You werenât sure what to expect besides the normal stuff you researched for a human child. This would be a new experience for you and the whole world. A world that will never know what you possess deep within your belly.
This was all new territory to you. Of course it was. Who else has had an alien baby before?! Shit, calm down. You gripped the deskâs edge breathed through the unease in your stomach. From there, you were able to slow your pounding heart once more. Everything will turn out okay. It had to be.
By the beginning of the ninth month, you couldnât go out. None of your family was allowed to see you, but that stemmed from the end of the seventh month. Where your bump was pronounced at that point. The questions and integration you would go through all for them to find out thereâs no father in the picture. You could see the color drain from your parents face if you had to tell them.
The new job went well so far. An up in your unsteady life. You have yet to tell them about an unplanned trip that was coming up soon. Whenever your child decided to pop out. You didnât even know if that was going to happen on time. Who knows if the alien genes have altered the time frame of the pregnancy. God, you didnât know how any of this worked.
So far, the idea was when your water broke, you would use your vacation and sick leave to give a home birth. Hopefully from there, you can figure out a way to take care of the child while at home. All you prayed for was the delivery went smooth.
Two weeks later, while working away, a rush of water soaked the apex of your thighs. You were in the middle of call, pausing mid sentence at the feeling. A hand slapped over your mouth to stop any noises from escaping. There wasnât any pain, just a feeling you had just wetted your pants. The person on the other end asked for you to repeat what you said. You swallowed down the lump in your throat and continued onward, barely paying attention.
It was about to happen.
When the work day ended, you threw down your headset and rushed to the bathroom. Supplies had been laid out in preparation for when the time came.
A blow up pool to lay in your living room was pulled out. A hose that could attach to the bathtubâs facet was connected then dragged out to the pool. An air mattress blowup machine was set down next to the deflated pool. The small hose was connect to the necessary hole before you turned it on.
The noise it created was uncomfortable to listen to. A headache began to form. Pressure created inside your skull and pressed against your eyes. You wanted to take some pain killers but was afraid on if that was the right thing to do. People get medicine at the hospitals but how much was too much. Would anything youâve taken affect the baby? Oh god, you hadnât thought about that! You wanted to smack yourself silly for not thinking about such a thing. Had you put the child in danger now?!
When the machine changed its tone, you looked down to see the blow up pool had been finished. It only took a single disconnected hose to seal it off. Instead of putting it away, you decided to keep the device nearby just in case. You wanted it be prepared at all costs since youâll be doing this alone. Without anyone. No one to hold your hand. No one to make sure youâre okay.
Tears welled up in my eyes at those thoughts. All alone to give birth an alien baby. A mistake you had partially regretted. The night of throes was one you could never forget about. Your hand subconsciously rubbed against the lingering scar on your neck. A mark that he left in reminder of himself. Not the only thing he had left behind in his wake.
After all the supplies had been dragged out, you texted your boss you had an emergency and couldnât be there for work. You were using the next three days to recoup from this. You wished for more but didnât want to anger your new boss about the sudden leave. All you had to do was fake it until you make it. Pretend you knew everything about giving birth. Itâs natural. Your body should know what to do and how to do it.
For the rest of the day, you simply walked around your small apartment. A sharp pain began over time to throb in your nether regions. It only eased up when you continued to walk around. Thankfully, it was manageable for the most part. No drugs. Just walking your way through it.
The night came. Your ankles were swollen beyond belief. The lower portion of your back ached. The throbbing never went away completely. It receded to the back of your mind then waned back into existence. You constantly gnawed on your bottom lip and tried to put on the T.V on something random to distract you. It helped little to draw your mind away from the different pains you were experiencing.
One look at the clock had you groaning. It was two in the morning. The contractions you were having only grew worse and closer together. That left you with no time to get any shut eye besides a five minute Power Nap every once in a while. You could only endure the aches as you rested in bed.
Night progressed onward until the rosy fingers of morning cascaded across the lightening sky. Any other day, you may have taken a picture at a sight so pretty. Instead, you scoffed at it and rolled out of bed.
Not once did you get more than five minutes of a nap.
The contractions had grown to a point where it made it hard to stand. Yet, you bear your weight against a chair in the small dining room. Standing it meant to help. Let gravity do its thing. Yet, with the lack of sleep made it hard to use what energy you did have to stay standing.
Then, the need to push hit you like a semi truck. You had to rush to fill up the pool with hot water. It was all you had left to do before everything would be ready.
All of your clothing had been strewn across the living room. All the towels you owned were set around in arms length near you. You sunk into the steaming water and groaned at the relaxing prosperities it offered.
It was time to push.
A day you knew you would never forget despite what youâve read. The hormones in the brain could cause you to forget that any of it happen. The pain. The agony. Nearly shitting yourself. All variables to when your bundle of joy was freed from your body. Just a little thing that didnât⊠look to weird.
He was so ugly he was cute in a way that only a mother would understand. He had the features of his father. Yet with a humanness to him you could see. Yet, your son could never step out into the world like you are able to. Unless he will be ripped away from you as you are dragged deep underground. Never to see or hear from your family again.
His face had only two mandibles. Bottom ones that were only nubs at this point with no sharp, deadly fang to taint the tip. He had no hair. That left you to wonder if he whoâs hair he may take after. You hoped not the alienâs. Who knows if they have a routine. Not like you could have the supplies or knowledge to take care of such thing.
Thankfully, his skin mostly matched your own. There were hints of that dark red of scales that pebbled the tops of his forearms. You flinched at the sight and picked at the scales. But they didnât come off. Your brows pushed up together as you worried the scales wouldnât come off. They had to.
His first cry snapped you out of your stupor.
Since that day, living with a child you didnât know how to take care of was beyond exhausting and nerve wracking. There was no time to yourself. Let alone, going out to see friends and family. You just used the excuse of work. It was always about work.
Your son, Austin, was different then research told you. From his ability to sit up only weeks after birth. He was able to speak at six months; crawl at eight before standing at eleven months. He pushed past each milestone with ease. You were proud of him, astonished he could perform each feat.
Days turned into months. Those milestone months turned into years. Before you knew it, your little Austin had turned five. A year he would have been starting kindergarten if he was normal.
One thing that changed about him was his hair. It easily came to you his hair was thin but like the rubbery dreads of Daiâstbaen. His scales multiplied across the tops of his forearms, growing up to his shoulders. Some peeked out on his chest and down his belly. The red was stark across otherwise smooth skin. He looked⊠not human. Only a mother could love. As harsh as that sounded, it was the truth. But, if anyone took him away from you, they would meet a motherâs fury.
During the night, you were curled around Austin. A protective shield to hide him away from the dangers of the real world outside the safety of your apartment. That was his one rule. All windows must stay shuttered and sealed off. No one could see in. No one could know he existed.
The time dragged on. Every second feeling like going over a pile of sharp rocks on the bottom of your feet. Nothing quelled the unease that sat in the pit of your stomach. The years may have passed well but you werenât sure you were doing this right. This is a hybrid baby where the father isnât in the picture. You didnât even know if Daiâstbaen was still alive. All the dangerous things he lives to hunt for a passion, for a living. You shuttered at the reminder of all the skulls he possesses. Dangerous and lethal.
When sleep finally decided to drag you into its depths, you jerked up. Something in the back of your mind screaming to get up. Austin whined when you slid off the bed and rushed towards the bat you had close to the bed.
By the time your fingers curled around the bat, your bedroom door creaked open. Fear pulsed through your body like a powerful drug. Your hands trembled while holding onto the weapon. The darkness made it next impossible to see the figure standing in your doorway. That didnât stop you from rushing forward and bringing the metal bat down with all of your strength.
Only for the bat to be caught mid swing.
It was tugged out of your grip and tossed behind the figure. The lights were flickered on, blinding you. You squinted through the pain the best you could only to see a darkly dressed figure there. More piled in. You stumbled backwards until your back hit the wall.
Harsh hands snatched at your wrists and smashed you nearly face first into the ground. Both of your arms are wrenched behind your back and locked into place with handcuffs.
Finally, at this point, your brain has finally caught up. But, it was too late to struggle. One person held down your legs. Other held various points of your body so it was impossible to move more than an inch.
The shrill scream of Austin had the fight in you restored to full power. A war cry thundered into the room, causing the people on you to tense. Your arms were already restrained with metal cuffs. Yet, your legs struck out and hit something soft underneath your foot. The tall tale sound of pain cut through the tense air. Someone fell down with a thud. You didnât stop. Your legs continued to thrash until both of your wrists were being bent in a way that felt like they had snapped.
A scream of pain rang throughout the small bedroom before someone used some sort of cloth to tie around your mouth. It effectively quieted all of your screams. You looked up the best you could towards a masked face and swore you were going to hurt them all for hurting your son.
Austin had been pulled out first before they had painfully dragged you out of your own apartment. The entire time, you fought them. Each time, they either kneed at your ribs and tugged harder on your shoulders.
Then, you received a knee to the head.
.
Word spreads like wildfire. Nothing like this is common. The council is immediately called upon to set forth who shall proceed with the task at hand. But, when it comes down the finer details, Daiâstbaen is the one traveling through time and space. Back to a planet he has not seen in years. Where he wished to return for his own pleasure and time. To a ooman that⊠captured his attention.
This return trip wasnât meant for time away from the hunt. A job had been handed to him. A very important job that needed to be completed before Cetanu could be released.
A hybrid had been spoken about on the rail. A ooman/Yautja hybrid. Dangerous beyond belief to let such a thing be in the hands of the oomans. Some call for it to killed. An abomination in many minds. It all came down to Daiâstbaen in the end. If he deems it mercy or an act upon the code, it shall be killed.
The ship softly shuttered when it came to rest on earthâs ground. All the engines slowly whirled down, powering off with a couple switches. Daiâstbaen unbuckled from the seat and stood up. His weapons soon adorned his frame before he headed out the hatch.
Pine and morning dew filtered into his mask. He took in the lungful, shoulders rising and falling. Then, he was off. Only a flash of dark red in the sea of green and brown.
Before arriving here, the Yautja had done his fair share of research. Many known places for ooman government settlements are pinpointed on a map. A map that Daiâstbaen currently was using to show him the right direction. Yautjas have been here for a long, long time.
His silent feet led him straight to building that wasnât well hidden just deep in the forest. A helipad was the only way in and out of here. Whoever was here was all there could be. Backup, if he had been spotted, would take too much time to capture him.
A cloak covered him from sight. Daiâstbaen took roost up in a tree, eyes scanning over the decently sized building. Just enough to hold a small team. For whatever they were doing to the hybrid. The Yautja scowled at the thought of the nasty oomans. He only knew of one that was worth a blooding mark. One well deserved after saving his life. Death almost came to the ooman as well after the fight had finished. Wounds that one shouldâve never survived from. Without him, the ooman wouldâve passed. A strong, mighty soul lost to Cetanu. Dai will not allow for that to happen.
Weak entry points were easy to locate and mark mentally in his mind. No patrols wondered the outside perimeter. Oomans and their cockiness. No wonder they die so easily to his own kind.
With the other modes on his bio mask, he determined the easiest way to get into the complex. His feet were silent as he dropped back down to the forest floor and moved inward.
Despite the place being lack with its security, Daiâstbaen never once let his guard fall. Not all shall seem to meet the eye. Plenty of life experiences and past hunts have told him otherwise. The hunt may seem easy but may turn for the worse at a moments notice. Dai rather not be caught in trap so avoidable. Not like some past Yautjas have. A shame and board line dishonor.
To get inside the complex took little pressure. A certain wire cut had the door failing. It opened up and revealed an empty hallway. The cloak was still activated as he moved forward. He used his mask to look at patches possibly taken. Yet, the signs helped him the most.
Daiâstbaen stood in front of a door strong enough to hold back a Yautja at full strength. A grumble fell from his throat as he looked over the exterior. This wasnât something he could strong arm the rest of the way. He was forced to look over the outside well, finding any weakness. Yet, it had been designed specifically to hold a Yautja.
Noise to his right had been side stepping the door and looking down the hall. A trip of oomans rounded a corner, deep in talk. White lab coats hung off of one of them. Others were dressed in pastel color of clothing. A brow arched from underneath his mask as he watched the three of them walk towards him. But, he wasnât alert to them finding him.
All of them stopped at the door he once stood at.
âWeâve only been able to recently touch him with the mother nearby. Or else heâll claw and bite everyone,â one said and rubbed a wrapped up portion of his arm. âI donât know about either of you, but Iâd rather not take another swing from the little twit.â
Mother? Was the hybrid young? And these oomans had taken a child and its mother.
Fire raced through his veins. A growl threatening to alert the oomans right in front of him.
One of them raised a plastic card up to the key pad. It beeped at the touch before the door opened up. The angle didnât allow him to see inside the room.
But the smell. A smell heâd thought to never scent again hit him hard. Idiotic of him, he froze up long enough for the door to shut after the oomans entered. He had to close off his throat to stop a deep growl from erupting. It was his duty to get into that room.
It felt like he was a unblooded all over again, patient worn out long ago. The muscle of his jaw so tight it felt like it was cramping. His eyes never left the doorway, ears trying to listen in but found the walls too thick for him to hear through. Everything in him wanted to bust down the door to get inside. Who knows what those scum of oomans were doing.
The tension in his muscles turned complete rigid when the door slid back open. His body acted before his mind could complete a thought. Dai rushed forward and snatched the lab coat ooman up by the neck. She tried to scream for her life but he pinched off any access to air. Her face already turning to a shade of red he loved oomans to wear.
He entered the space still holding onto the soft meat. She squirmed and kicked at him, anything to get free from his grasp. The door shut behind him and locked him into the room that was filled with the scent of terror.
And yours.
A mixture that reeked. The Yautja growled lowly in his chest before plucking the ID card off of her. She could barely make a noise, face beet red. Daiâstbaen dropped the defenseless ooman back down onto the ground. She crumbled to the floor and choked and gasped for air. He barely gave her a glance and strode over to your trembling, slacken jaw form.
You never once thought to see this beautiful creature again. Not a single moment in your life. But, here stands Daiâstbaen in all of his glory. Biomask covering his features but you could feel the heat of his eyes on you. He marched over to you and ate up the space between the two of you. He fell to a knee and reached out to your chained form.
Metal wrapped painfully around your throat and hands. They attached to a bolt in the concrete wall. No ooman could break out of something with pure strength alone. Daiâstbaen lifted up the chain and felt its weight. Nothing to him but to you, red marks had been rubbed raw into your soft skin. A scowl hidden by his mask.
As if you saw a god, you reached up and brushed your fingers against the coolness of the metal of his face covering. A face you desperately wanted to see.
âDai?â you croaked out in voice devoid of water for so long. You looked so lost, long without hope to fill your fierce eyes. The male himself was speechless. Why in the stars were you here? In a facility he was looking for a hybrid. He cupped your jaw in a massive hand, fingers curling around the back of your head. His thumb graced over your pronounced cheek bone. Your eyes had sunken in. The skin dark and lifeless underneath him.
This wasnât the vision of how he left you. You had been curled up against him, soft, gentle features at peace. The marks that marred your skin. His eyes darted down to the bite mark he left in the heat of the moment. Had these scums taken you all because of a bite? Surely, they wouldnât notice anything off with such a bite?
Clattering of metal skirting across the concrete floor snapped him back into his hunter mode. His head whipped around. One of the other oomans had discovered him, coming around a partition. Before the man had time to react, Dai was a red blur across the room. His hand curled around his throat and brought the person to him. You watched as Dai choked the unsuspecting man out until he no longer moved. He was released and flopped down onto the ground. His chest slowly rose and fall.
The person in the lab coat was able to regain her composer, head tilted up. Her dark eyes were trained on Dai. An accusing finger pointed at him. âYou-â she coughed â-canât hurt me. Canât hurt any of us,â she bit out in a nasty tone that twisted your gut. There was nothing you could do, still chained up to the wall. Your face morphed with anger. You pulled on the chain but it only rattled at the move.
Daiâstbaen didnât stop marching towards her on the ground. She scrambled backwards and even kicked his shin. Yet, he didnât even flinch at the strike. He bent at the waist and picked up the struggling woman with a single arm. Your jaw slackened again at the remind of how strong he is. The memories of the last night with him resurfacing at the wrong moment.
Not a word or sound utters from his vocal cords. One arm wraps around her neck and hold strong. Blood and air is restricted to her brain. It doesnât take long for her to drop to the ground, chest slowly rising and falling.
Once the issue is solved, he strides across the limited space again. They werenât dead. You were thankful he hadnât killed them in front of you, knowing he could pull such a thing. Daiâstbaen returns to his position in front of you. A claw hooks into the unforgiving chain wrapped around your wrists. For a government facility, they didnât have good restraints. Maybe⊠they werenât thinking about capturing prisoners.
Not like yourself, at least.
His mask stares at the chains for a moment. Then, with both of his hands, he grips it at two different sections and pulls. The metal groans under his pure strength before easily giving way with a snap. The end hangs from your neck and pulled on the tender areas. Next, Daiâstbaen worked on your wrists in the same manner. He had left a tail end, unable to get so close to you.
Your legs strained to lift yourself off of the unforgiving, dull grey floors. The muscles have gone weak after the lack of use and proper food.
Before you could make it, Daiâstbaen easily scooped you up into his arms. His warmth easily washed over your numb frame. The air in the room was cool. It kept you shaking nearly all the time. They never offered a blanket or something.
He was able to transfer you to one arm holding you to him. His free hand grabbed the ID card he had snatched earlier. The male walked over to the closed door.
âWa-it!â you hissed when he attempted to leave. Your body squirmed in his hold. Daiâstbaen grunted and pinned you to his warm body. âWe canât le-ave!â Austin. Tears were brought to your eyes at the thought of your son. You used a hand to pull on one of Daiâs tresses and directed him over to the partition.
Dai could smell another ooman and something else.
Your feet touched the cool concrete again. The strength in your legs was long gone and forced you to sit down. His gaze was set on what he could see around the partitionâs edge. He stalked over then froze for a moment. In another flash, he lunged forward. You decided to stay where you were when you heard a thud smack. Another person choked out. Alive.
Soft, nearly silent footsteps alerted to Dai coming back. When he appeared around the corner, you scrambled to get to your weak legs.
In his arms was the limp body of Austin. âNo!â you cried but unable to find the strength. After so long of fighting, you had lost the will. Even at the sight of your son limp in front of you. Tears brimmed the edges of your eyes as you clawed at Daiâstbaen. As if you could climb him to get to Austin. âPlease, no.â Your whimper cracked at his own heart.
What had they done to him?
It was your reaction that had the dots clicking inside of his head. You⊠Oh, by Payaâs will! His eyes widened underneath the mask, muscles turning taunt. The hybrid⊠it was his. The red scales, mandibles, the tresses. Daiâstbaen couldâve smacked himself for how stupid he had been. How couldâve he not even thought of the possibility?! But⊠the idea was next to impossible.
Here it was though. In his arms. Softly breathing. The mother clawing at him, eyes balling with tears. Daiâstbaen knelt down in front of the ooman heâs come to know. You instantly tried to tug him out of his arms but it was nothing compared to his strength.
âAustin, honey. Oh god, no. Anything but him!â you sobbed and rushed your hands all over him. He was still warm. The first thing you notice; slightly taking you out of your panic. Then, your finger pads found a gentle pulse. Your saneness slowly coming back as you realized Austin was alive. You gave another sob. This time of relief. Your arms wrapped around him the best you could then slowly looked up at the Yautja.
The mask may hide all of his features⊠but you felt the heat of his stare. You pulled away and straightened your back, eyes casting downward. Not once did one of your hands leave Austin.
âYeah,â you choked out and buried yourself into your shoulders. You didnât know how he was going to react to all of this. Even yourself didnât want to believe the pregnancy for the first six months.
His arm underneath Austinâs knees snatched the forearm closest to him. Dai leaned in close to you that your foreheads nearly touched. Your heart began to thunder loudly.
âChild? We have⊠child?â Words so unsure of the reality of everything. A feeling you felt so long ago in the beginning of all of this. You had been alone, terrified. To this day, you still are. Even before they had found out about Austin and yourself.
More tears stained your cheeks. âYeah,â you sniffled with a nod. His hand twitched for a moment before letting you go. Instead, you carded your fingers through his, nails biting the back of his hand. âWe do. I-I didnât k-now how to-to tell you. You were⊠gone.â Words so important to you unaffected him. For the most part.
A huff left the alien. His head turned towards the door. The weight of the situation slammed down on you once again. Escape. This was your chance for escape. You couldnât walk though. The battle had long left you after a lesson well learned. His hands were full with Austin.
You let go of his hand pushed at him. If one must be saved, it had to be Austin. Your son over yourself. âGo! Bef-ore they find out. T-take him to-to safety, please,â you pleaded with the male, face wet and sticky from the constant tears.
Dai snorted and scooted Austin more onto one shoulder. With his other arm, he wrapped it around your torso. One show of strength had you tossed over onto the other shoulder. A pained grunt surge past your lips when you landed harshly on your stomach. The birth had always left you scarred permanently. Then, the Yautja was on his feet and quickly stalking towards the door.
The stolen keycard was used to open the door and revealed an empty hallway. He peered out to look both ways before stepping out. Years of training aided him. His feet light despite the added weight of two people on him. Yet, he had noticed how much lighter you were compared to when he last held you up. Something twisted in the pit of his stomach. A need to end the lives for those caused harm to you.
There were more important things to worry about for now. Safety for one.
Like a skilled hunter, Daiâstbaen was able to slip out of the complex with little difficulty. The cloak had been rendered useless. He was forced to rely on strict listening and awareness of his surroundings.
Fresh air on your skin was heaven sent. You lifted yourself up with just enough strength to prop yourself up on his shoulder. The outside world was something you hadnât seen in a long time. You could cry at the sight. For so long.
The Yautja carried you a long way. Not once did he stop for a break or rest. Like a freight train, he continued to move. The sway of his gait nearly had you passing out, ready to succumb to a sleep you werenât petrified to never wake up again.
A familiar sight peered through the trees. The ship. Oh god, you were really free. Daiâstbaen had come for you to save the two of you.
How did he know? Words you wanted to ask him but your energy was dwindling faster than you could stop it. The realization of safety had you finally drifting in and out of light sleep.
The feeling of scales against your belly had your eyes flickering open. You groaned and found yourself on your back, looking up at the familiar face of Daiâstbaen. His biomask long gone at this point. The only upper mandible twitched when his bright yellow eyes found yours. A hand cupped at your cheek, thumb running over your pronounced cheek bone.
âThank you,â you whispered in a hoarse voice. Water was instantly brought to your lips in the form of a waterskin. Every drop you took then licked at your cracked lips.
Something akin to anger swirled bright in his fierce eyes. His mandibles tightened over his mouth, nails creating divots in your skin. âYou stay. With me,â he demanded.
Free from the mask, his voice was clear and crisp in the protection of his room. A space you had shared with him for that month.
Your brows jumped up towards the ceiling. How was that going to work? Humans⊠they donât survive outside of earthâs atmosphere. And the creatures he hunts. They would think of you as a snack. Easy pickings. A full bottom shiver wrecked your poor frame.
âHowâs⊠that going to work?â you asked, not opposed to leaving your life behind. All of your friends and family had been pushed away when Austin had been born. Your job must of fired you. Your apartment was probably been cleaned out. Everything you once knew was gone. All besides your child and his father.
His next words were thought over carefully. âYou are ooman, weak and frail. Yes. But, I protect you. Like you protected me. We have child. He learn Yautja ways. Be hunter,â he explained to the best of his knowledge in English. Your eyes widened. He wants Austin to be like him.
Austin. Your head whipped about before Daiâstbaen caught it and directed your attention to your side. There laid your sleeping kid. He had curled up on his side, facing you. At peace.
You licked at your cracked lips and gaze back towards Daiâstbaen. âI named him Austin,â you said to him. Something flashed in his eyes, but he kept silent.
Everything he said though, you couldnât completely disagree on. From the fact your life was ruined, to the fact Austin was different. It took so much to reel him in from going out the front door. Or, he loved to climb up on to of the cupboards. Even when he very young.
A hunter at his core.
âHeâs got you heart.â You smiled at him, stars sparkling in your eyes. Then, you bowed your head and played with your hands on the blankets. âI⊠I agree with you. I canât go back. And, I donât know what Iâm doing. I feel terrible that Iâm probably not taking care of him right.â You peered at Dai from underneath your lashes. âI need your help.â
With his hands on your cheeks, he tugs you in a little closer. His forehead presses to yours in a soft gesture. âI help. We raise together.â Your eyes closed. You embraced the warmth blooming in your chest.
The tension in your chest loosen. You could finally breath normally again.

Drewâs Birthday Gift
Masterlist
Drew Starkey x Wife!Reader
Summary: Itâs Drewâs birthday and the two of you usually have a ton of fun, drinking and going out with friends but this years different. You are 7 months pregnant, constantly exhausted and in pain.
A/N: A day late but the idea came to me last night then I fell asleep lol
I allude to Drewâs gift on his 30th with reader. I have a fun idea for that if youâd like a part 2!
Warnings: fluff/smut all in one, smut towards the end, body insecurity (reader being pregnant) hormones, reader is hard on herself
Coming home from Poguelandia was a relief. Youâd spent most of the day on your feet, swollen and aching all the way up to your claves, but it had all been worth it. The OBX cast adored you, and despite the physical toll, it was an amazing day.
The past few months had been nothing short of magical: Drewâs film premiere, getting engaged in Venice, Paris Fashion Week, a courthouse wedding a week later, the OBX premiere, and Poguelandia. Working remotely allowed you to travel with Drew effortlessly, though adjusting to new time zones was always a challenge.
Your wedding was intimate, just as you both wanted. Chip served as your witness, which felt fitting since he was the reason you two met. Family and close friends flew in for a dinner celebration afterward. You never envisioned yourself as a wife or mother, but Drew had a way of changing everything you thought you knew about yourself.
As your pregnancy progressed, the constant travel began to wear on you. Now in your third trimester, even the simplest tasks left you breathless, sore, and utterly exhausted. Putting on shoes was nearly impossible and every muscle ached in your body.
This year, guilt gnawed at you for not being able to plan something extravagant for Drewâs birthday. The best you managed was flying in his sister, brother, and a few close friends for a small dinner. For the past five years, youâd always organized grand celebrations. His 30th birthday was unforgettable, with a *special* gift that left Drew infatuated for days. But this year, you barely had the energy to make it through the day, let alone plan something big. You worried it wasnât enough.
Pregnancy brain struck hard when you realized, as you were getting ready, that you hadnât even bought him a gift. The sudden wave of panic brought tears to your eyes, but you forced them back, determined not to ruin the day. You felt like the worst wife.
Dinner was nice, set at Drewâs favorite restaurant in LA. The food was impeccable, and you managed to push aside your self-doubt, even as your back ached from the uncomfortable chair. Drew noticed and rested his hand on your thigh, concern in his eyes. âYou okay? Youâve been quiet tonight,â he asked softly.
âYeah, just uncomfortable,â you said, tapping the back of the chair. He wrapped his arm around you, pulling you and the chair closer, and held you there for the rest of the night.
When the cake arrived, the group began to sing âHappy Birthday.â You smiled at Drew but glanced at the cake and noticed âbirthdayâ was misspelled. Normally, such a thing wouldnât bother you, but today, it felt like the final straw. You kept it together until Drew kissed you, and you whispered playfully, âSave me a piece.â You kissed him again before slipping away to the restroom, locking the door behind you. Taking a few deep breaths, you tried to calm the storm of emotions. You felt selfish for not being able to handle your emotions, but the third trimester had turned you into an emotional rollercoaster. A few tears fell before you dabbed your cheeks with a paper towel with cold water and pulled yourself together.
Returning to the table, Drewâs eyes met yours, now filled with concern. âAre you sure youâre alright? You can tell me, baby,â he said.
You managed a small smile, placing your hand on his cheek. âIâm fine, just⊠you know, it doesnât wait for anything now,â you joked, gesturing to your belly. You both chuckled, but Drew wasnât convinced. He knew you too well.
â°ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ âââź
Back home, you collapsed on the couch, Drew helping you out of your boots. The sense of relief was immediate. He sat beside you, lifting your swollen feet onto his lap to massage them. âThis is your day, you relax. Donât pamper me for once,â you said, trying to sound lighthearted. You lifted your feet off of him and he felt the disconnect from you.
âIâm sorry, Iâm just tired. Can we go to bed?â you added, the exhaustion weighing down your voice.
âOf course, letâs go.â Drew helped you to your feet, and you changed into pajamas. Lying in bed, facing each other, a silence hung between you as you propped up one arm, rested your head in your hand, and absentmindedly traced patterns on his bare chest.
âTell me whatâs wrong now,â he said, his voice gentle but firm.
âI told you, nothingâs wrong.â
âFive years together, and you think I donât know when somethingâs up? What time is it?â he asked.
âItâs 11:50,â you replied after checking the clock.
âOkay, in 10 minutes, my birthday will be over, and youâll tell me whatâs really going on. Deal?â He knew thatâs what the constant dismissal was for tonight.
You wanted to deny it, but all you could manage was, âDeal.â
Those 10 minutes passed in silence, your mind racing. As soon as the clock struck midnight, Drew spoke again. âTell me, please, baby.â
âI⊠I just think I ruined this day for you.â He looked puzzled but waited for you to continue. Sitting up, you leaned against the headboard, and he mirrored you.
âI usually go all out for your birthday, make it a huge event with everyone you love. But this year, all I could pull together was a dinner. Iâve felt terrible all day, and when the cake was misspelled, it was just the cherry on top. I didnât even get you a gift, and our birthday sex is usually amazing. But Iâm so swollen and uncomfortable, I didnât even want you to see me naked. Itâs just a lot, and I didnât want to ruin your day.â Tears rolled down your cheeks as you spoke.
Drew leaned towards you and cupped your face, forcing you to look at him. âHey, donât cry. You didnât do anything wrong. I loved today. I love every birthday we spend together because youâre what makes it special. This might be my favorite birthday yet. I was surrounded by the people I love, and most importantly, I had you and our son with me. What more could I possibly want? Next year, itâll be even better when heâs here and youâre singing happy birthday to me, Iâll holding him.â His words sent a fresh wave of tears down your face. How could he be this sweet? How are you this lucky.
âI know itâs been tough on you, and I didnât want to push. But I do still have a birthday wish,â he said, smirking as you wiped your tears and smiled.
âOh yeah? Whatâs that?â you asked.
âYou. But only if youâre comfortable. Iâm going to love you no matter what, and I think youâre more beautiful now, with this bump and everything youâre going through to grow our son.â
His words melted away your insecurities and exhaustion. âYouâre the only gift I want, Y/N,â he whispered.
You wiped your eyes and stood up. âWhere are you going?â Drew asked, confused.
âTo get your gift wrapped.â A few minutes later, you emerged from the closet wearing the white lace lingerie set youâd bought for your maternity shoot. His jaw dropped, and you knew youâd made his night complete. âWow.â
â°ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ ââ âââź
Drew got out of bed and sat at the edge, reaching his arms out for you. You settled in between his legs. His hands glided over your body, igniting a spark within you. "All this for me? You shouldn't have," he whispered, his smirk sending shivers down your spine. You blushed at his words, but your heart swelled with affection as he continued, "I told you, you were beautiful when I met you. You were beautiful every day for the past 5 years, and you're even more beautiful now that you're my wife and the mother of my child. There's no one else I'd want to do this with."
You leaned in, brushing your lips against his. âThank you, my love.â His kisses traveled from your mouth to your neck, each touch light and deliberate. His hands moved gently, offering a reassuring comfort as he reached for the clasp of your bra. You tensed for a moment, and he paused. âCan I see all of you?â he asked, his tone full of affection. You nodded, allowing him to remove the fabric. His lips found their way to your chest, kissing you with a reverence that sent warmth through your body. He moved with care, knowing how tender your body had become.
Drew lifted you effortlessly and placed you at the center of the bed, returning to remove his own sweatpants before joining you. Your confidence surged in the safety of his presence, and you began to slide down your underwear. He helped, eyes never leaving yours, full of admiration and love.
It had been months since you last shared an intimate moment. Between your growing belly and hidden insecurities, and sex drive plummeting from hormone, your desire had waned. But now, Drewâs touch and words reignited something inside you, a closeness youâd missed. He gently ran his fingers along your body, his touch both soothing and electrifying. His movements were slow and careful, each one a reminder of how cherished you were.
He rubbed his fingers through your folds, coating them in your arousal, he ran his hand up and down his length as he met your entrance, and slowly entered you. The stretch felt amazing, and you squirmed beneath him, eager for more. You loved the way he made you feel, the way he took care of you.
You two usually have fun in bed. You experiment and are usually rough. Itâs easy to do with him, knowing heâll never truly hurt you and youâre both just so comfortable with each other. Tonight was different, though. Everything was more intimate, more tender. His strokes were slow and full of love. He leaned in, careful of your bump, placed one arm beneath you and the other on your side. His forehead pressed against yours as he looked into your eyes. "So good, Drew," you whispered, and he smiled, his eyes filled with affection. "Just wanna take care of you, baby, you're the best gift ever."
You felt overwhelmed with affection, tears threatening to spill as he continued to hold you with care. The room was quiet, filled only with soft whispers and shared breaths as he adjusted his pace to your need.
He keeps this pace, until you grow a little impatient. âA little harder⊠please.â He picks up the pace the second you ask. Still soft with his movements but the speed is much better. His head is wedge in the crook of your neck as you run your fingers through his hair and down his back, feeling more connected than ever. He licked his fingers and touched your clit. Moving slow deliberate circles keeping the same pace as his hips. Youâre getting closer and you clench down on him. âCome for me baby, forget about the pain for a little bit.â
You become putty in his arms and his words send you spiraling into an orgasm that washed over you like a tidal wave. Drewâs follows behind. He sits up and runs his hand over your bump. âMost beautiful mother Iâve ever seen. Youâre an angel.â You smile at his words.
"You're the most beautiful mother I've ever seen," he whispered, his eyes filled with adoration. You smiled, feeling loved and cherished.
He gets up and puts back on his sweatpants returning with a washcloth and a big t-shirt of his. He cleans you up and pulls the shirt over your head. He gets back into bed and pulls you to him. âBest birthday ever, thank you my love. I love you so much.â
âI love you too Drewbug.â And as you fell asleep in his arms, you knew that you were exactly where you were meant to be.

ask me anything
--
âWould you do this to your sister?â
Rafe stared at you, horrified, as you hummed on the bed from the effects of the heavy indica based oil heâd put in your drink. You were practically on a cloud, and he was surprised you even had the energy to speak. Youâd never asked him anything, just begged him to stop and let go, but never this.
âWhat?â
You forced yourself up to a sitting position, practically fluttering at the pain relief heâd given you. Rafe spent more time in this room with you, just talking and yelling and taking his anger out on you because you were there. You usually didnât bother to comment back, just taking whatever heâd give because youâd given up on the idea of life getting any better.Â
âWould you put Sarah through this?â You repeated, eyes blinking quickly at him.Â
Rafe bent down to snort the line of white powder heâd organized on your calf; any other surface in the room and his dad would notice (or thatâs what he told himself). âThe fuck are you talking about?â
âI mean, John B would never do this to your sister, so why the hell are you doing it to his?â
The question caught Rafe off guard more than he expected. His dad had practically ruined his relationships with everyone heâd come to know. Except you, Ward had broken you into the perfect little companion for Rafe. There was no running away, nobody to come save you. So, in his own little twisted way, he really liked having you around. You were his.
âI donât have to answer you,â Rafe replied weakly, knowing damn well he wouldâve never allowed anything like that to happen to Sarah. NotâŠno? Maybe. He didnât know anymore and his brain wasnât working correctly now with the drugs in his system.
You sighed, âOkay.â Flopping back on the bedding, you stared at the ceiling. Your heartbeat was in your ears and it felt like time was passing so slowly.
âWould you ever forgive John B if he did that?â
You shook your head and gave him a thumbs down. âJohn B would never do that. And if he did, Iâd never speak to him again.â
The statement hurt. As much as Rafe tried to convince himself that you were wrong, it hurt. He wanted to be good, to be worthy of someoneâs love and attention. Heâd tried his whole life to but he kept fucking up. Thatâs why he was leaning on you. You were fixing that hole in his chest whether you knew it or not.
âWould you ever talk to me again?â Rafe stared at the bland walls as he spoke.
A moment of silence filled the room before he turned to see if you were still awake. Your eyes remained unblinking, the rise and fall of your chest in a steady motion the only sign that you were still alive.Â
âYouâre really scaring me,â You answered honestly. Your mind was silent, the only thing running through it was Rafeâs question, so you had no reason to lie to him. âYouâre hurting me. Youâre really hurting me and I donât understand why.â
Rafe turned away when you started crying, your form shivering in an adrenaline drop as you rolled onto your side away from him. He sat silently until your breathing evened out, eyes closing as you fell into an induced slumber before he turned the lights off and left the room, locking the door as he did.
--
John B was worried.
Letâs be clear, as the eldest of the group, John B worried often, but when it came to you, he always was.Â
Everything was off since you and Kie had returned from the shop and it was practically a red flag waving in front of his face. Neither of you said anything but it was obvious from the timing of everything paired with tear tracks on your faces that something happened. He just had to wait it out for more details.
Revealing everything to Kie had brought up a lot of buried feelings and although you wanted nothing more than to hide away, you didnât want to risk staying home by yourself. You were quiet the entire ferry ride, claiming you were tired and needed a nap so nobody would question your lack of energy. That didnât mean you missed out on the conversations around you, eavesdropping your way into John Bâs awkward insinuation of moving into the next step with Sarah.
The topic pulled tears to your eyes as you thought about the idea with JJ. Would you guys stay in Kildare? Would you move somewhere, or stay here and carry out a different kind of life that neither of you had experienced?
âSo based on the captainâs log, Blackbeardâs in his ship, the Adventure, somewhere out there, and theyâre being pursued by the British Royal Navy, right? So, he comes to shore, takes a bunch of hostages. They called it the, um, the-â
âOh, the uh, the Blockade of Charleston. That was eighth-grade history.â John B interrupted Popeâs story with such confidence it almost brought you out of your shitty mood.
You walked slowly behind them, head covered by one of John Bâs old Kildare High hoodies, the sweater paws keeping you warm. Kie was a few steps ahead of you, walking next to Sarah. Every now and then she would spare a glance back to make sure you were still there. Cleo walked ahead of everyone else, knife twirling between her fingers with murder on her mind. She would get her revenge on Terranceâs behalf.
Your attention drifted from John B and Popeâs conversation to your phone where your messages to JJ had gone unanswered. You knew he could hold his own, but you hated the thought of leaving him in search of his dad, not that he wouldâve let you go anyway.
âCome on, Birdie.â John B had slowed his pace to walk along your side, his hand grabbing yours so youâd drop your head on his shoulder. âWanna talk?â
You shook your head slightly but squeezed his hand in appreciation that he was here. Pope was busy solving the riddle left by the amulet that had brought you here.
âWait, I have a question. So, if weâre talking about caskets, that doesnât mean weâre going to another cemetery, right?â
You laughed softly at John Bâs question, leaning further into his side as the six of you continued walking down the cobblestone street. The walk continued much longer than you wouldâve liked, your mind and body ready to lay down for a little and reset.
âYou know whatâs been bothering me?â Pope asked after the sun had set and youâd walked a good 5 miles. âBlackbeard has a treasure he desperately wants to keep. Heâs being pursued by the British Royal Navy. Theyâre blockading the entire city. Yet he finds time to make coffins to bury his cook and navigator?â
âWhoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, time out. Time out, time out. Dude, he definitely put something in those coffins.â
âAre you dumb.â You let go of John Bâs hand to stop in front of him, giving him a blank look. He looked offended as you walked away from him, shaking your head as you did. It was quite obvious that you were looking for treasure hidden in the coffins.
âHalf Moon, Half Moon Battery, where the living and the dead collide, which I figure is a cemetery, which means all we have to do is figure out where-â
âThe North Star is?â Sarah finished Popeâs thought as she raised her hand to point to a stained-glass window of the church on the corner. You shrugged at her find, figuring it made sense to at least give it a shot.
John B wrapped an arm around his girlfriend. âSarah Cameron, have I told you I love you lately?â
Pope stared at the colored object for a few more seconds before turning to address all of you. âHereâs the plan, alright? Iâm gonna need you and you for diversions. Youâre coming with me, I need to check something in the church. And you two are on cemetery duty.â
That put Sarah and Cleo on distractions, Kiara going with Pope, and you were left with John B for cemetery duty.
âWait, what?â You asked as you looked around the darkness surrounding you and your brother seemed to be on the same page. âDonât leave us out here!â
âLook for the gatekeeper in the cemetery,â Pope explained as the remainder of the group started walking toward the entrance. âBe so safe!â
You rolled your eyes at the ongoing joke, turning to face John B. âWe just got benched.â
âYep, where the living and dead collide, the Routledges will provide. Awesome,â He grumbled and walked around the gate to enter the graveyard area. âItâs not real, theyâre dead. Itâs gonna be fine, weâll be fine.â
You sighed and let him rant away to himself as you found a spot on the stairs to claim for the upcoming time. Pulling John Bâs hoodie sleeves further over your hands, you shivered with the cool night breeze.
âSo, are you gonna tell me what the hell is going on or am I going to have to drag it out of someone else?â John B took a seat next to you and cracked his knuckles like it would make him any tougher.Â
As much as you loved Kie, you knew she wasnât good at keeping secrets, and you wanted to talk to John B before she went running. Your teeth pulled at the chapped skin of your lips before you answered, âI heard you on the ferry, talking to Sarah about starting a family.â
He seemed confused for a moment before his cheeks burned red. âOh, thatâs awkward. Um, that⊠that shouldâve been a more private conversation and-â
âWould you hate Sarah if she didnât have kids?â
The question wasnât one John B anticipated. Out of all the things you guys had talked about before, raising a family wasnât one discussed. With your own family relationship being rocky, John B never knew where you stood on the idea and if youâd ever want that for yourself (and JJ, but he tried not to think about that).
âNo, n-no. I would be sad, of course, but I wouldnât hate her. She totally dodged the idea, though so you donât have to worry about-â
âWould you leave her?â
John B frowned and blinked at you, but you still werenât looking at him. He wasnât used to you asking about his relationship in this kind of way. âWhy are you asking this?â
You pushed a shaky breath from your lips and let your head drop to your knees. God, you wished JJ was here. He deserved to hear this from you first, but he wasnât, and you didnât know when he would be.
âJohn B, I canât have kids.â You turned to watch his expression as he processed your words. Your eyes were warm with tears while a million emotions crossed his face.
âWhat?â John B didnât know what else to say. You guys were barely adults, and this topic shouldnât even be a thought in your mind with the current living conditions and lack of funding you all had. But you were his little sister, and his heart was breaking as you spoke. âCanât or wonât?â
Tugging on the sleeves of the hoodie again, you looked down. âCanât. Physically unable. Never going to happen.â
John B paused at the coldness in your voice. You were obviously upset but he still wasnât sure where all of this was coming from. Plus, letâs be real. John B was a teenage boy at the end of the day; female anatomy was not his strong suit in any way. âOh, okay. Um, is there like a problem or-â
âRafe caused it.â
--
The Cameron house was cold. Sunlight filled the room, casting some warmth across the hardwood floor but you made no effort to enjoy it. Rose had just dropped a salad off at the door and told you that DCS would be visiting today, to get your shit together and not to mess anything up or Ward would go after your friends. You didnât know whether to believe him or not, but you had nothing left to go off of. You hadnât seen your friends in weeks, and you didnât know if they even bothered to look for you.
DCS had yet to make any checkups on you and your brother since your dad disappeared, minus the one that John B narrowly avoided by jumping from the car when you thankfully werenât home. You figured Ward had paid them off for so long, but now that John B was lost to sea, they were likely to get suspicious.Â
Which meant they were coming to talk to you. Alone.
Perfect.
Forcing your tired and bruised body to your feet, you made your way into the attached bathroom to soak under the hot water and formulate a plan. If DCS did opt to talk to you, there had to be a way to get a silent SOS across. You didnât know how, but you would come up with something, even if Rafe and Ward followed your every move.Â
After soaking up most of the hot water, you finished getting ready for the day, pulling on a pair of shorts and one of John Bâs t-shirts that had gotten mixed in your laundry. It would only be a matter of time before theyâd come knocking at the door to collect you for show and tell.
Your eyes moved over everything in the room with hope something would pop up with an answer for all of your problems. And then you remembered the remaining food tray in the room. Ward or whoever dropped food to you typically left plastic wear to prevent you from using the typicaly cutlery as a resource, but that wasnât the case today. Your eyes caught the metal knife that was intended to cut the meal, but you hadnât touched it.
You grabbed the piece in your hand and moved slowly to to the door, running over JJâs instructions in your head on how to possibly pop the lock using the tool. Pushing it between the door and the wall, you felt around for the horizontal lock, struggling to move it over. And then there was a pop, and your heart started racing.
Pressing your ear against the door, you listened for footsteps and voices, anything that would give you a warning of someone being nearby. When you didnât hear anything, your fingers gently twisted the doorknob as far as it would go. A soft click told you it was yours to open as you pleased, so you did so, slowly.
The hallway was dim minus the sunlight leaking in from other rooms and your eyes caught sight of the large grandfather clock to your side. The ticking of the hands echoed down the silent hallway and you stood frozen for a moment before taking your first steps out.Â
And nothing.
No yelling, no alarms, no impromptu body tackles to the floor. You could make this. You could make a run for it and they would be none the wiser until DCS was here.
Walking slowly down the hallway, you came to the foyer area where you could hear whispers from the kitchen filtering through. Moving into Sarahâs room, you glanced around for something, anything, that would help you get out of here without any suspicion.Â
âGo get her. Theyâll be here soon and I need to make sure sheâs not going to run her mouth.â
âDad, sheâs going to-â
âNow, Rafe.â
You held your breath as Rafe mumbled an agreement and the sound of his footsteps echoed through the open room as he ascended the stairs. You needed to move, and move fast. Rafe cursed down the hall, likely figuring out that the door was unlocked and you clutched the butter knife tighter in your hand like it would offer any protection.
Ducking into Sarahâs walk-in closet, you scrambled to find an old phone or even her laptop if sheâd left it behind but came up empty. âShit,â You whispered to yourself and bent down to pull on a pair of her gym shoes since yours had been destroyed from years of wear. If nothing else, you needed to prepare to run.Â
Grabbing a black hoodie from her shelves, you slipped it on over your t-shirt and pulled the hood up to keep your face hidden as much as possible. You would only have one shot at this, and you needed to make it count.Â
Moving slowly toward Sarahâs bedroom door, you waited to see if you could hear Rafeâs presence down the hall but silence followed. The doorbell rang, Ward yelling out for his son in hopes that he would bring you down but Rafe didnât answer.
âHi, Iâm Rebecca Sinclair with DCS. Iâm presuming youâre Mr. Cameron.âÂ
Risking the step into the open, you walked out of Sarahâs room and kept your body pressed against the wall so you would be out of view for Ward and the DCS rep but could see their conversation.
âThat would be me. Come in, can I get you something to drink?â
Rebecca shook her head. âThis should be fairly quick. Where is Miss Routledge? I have to do an individual check in with her and then one with you as the legal guardian.â
âLet me go see where sheâs at. Sheâs been having a really hard time with the loss of her brother and my daughter. They were such good friends, and-â
âMiss Routledge, please, Mr. Cameron.â
The DCS rep clearly wasnât putting up with Ward. You took the chance to step forward into view, your mouth opening to yell out before someoneâs hand clamped over your face and an arm yanked you back from view. You screamed against the action, the sound echoing throughout the hall.
âApologies, sheâs been crying all day. Iâll go grab her.â
Body thrashing, you attempted to pull out of Rafeâs grasp but he doubled down on his grip, even when you attempted to bite his hand.Â
âShut the fuck up or Iâll kill you!â He hissed in your ear as he dragged you down the hallway back into the room youâd seen for days upon days. Rafe tried to close the door as quietly as possible while still corralling you in his arms.
He slammed you against the bed covers, knee driving into your stomach as he kept his hand over your mouth. You cried out at the force, tears springing to your eyes at the pain that followed. You tried to push against his chest so he would get off, his other hand tightening around your throat causing the air to stop its way into your lungs.
You choked, eyes going wide as you stared back at him in hopes that he would find some sort of empathy and forgiveness, but cold eyes met yours.Â
âI told you to shut the fuck up, you useless Pogue. I should kill you for-â
âRafe.â Wardâs voice was demanding enough that his son stopped speaking but continued to glare at you. âMove your hand.â
Rafe complied, taking his hand from your throat but keeping the one on your mouth. You continued to push at him until he dropped more of his weight into the knee on your stomach and you cried again.
Wardâs face came into view, his sickly fake smile on his face as he held a small syringe into your view. âYou couldâve just listened, you know? And we wouldnât have to go to these lengths.â
He wasnât gentle as he pushed the needle into your skin, subjecting you to whatever sedative heâd claimed good enough to handle your outburst.Â
Your body went quiet within seconds, muscles relaxing and a numbness spreading from limb to limb. Your imaginary fight with Rafe ended and tears fell from your eyes at the helpless feeling. After a moment, Rafe moved his hand and shifted off of you as Ward tossed a spare blanket over your form.
âGo to your room, Iâll handle this.âÂ
You could tell Rafe wanted to disagree with Wardâs directions, but with a final glare your way, he removed himself from the room. Ward watched as your expression drooped, eyes blinking slower as the medicine kicked in.Â
âI told you, youâll never see them again.â
Heavy tears blinked from your eyes as you tried to fight through, tried to stay awake to warn the woman downstairs of your horrendous conditions, of how damaged theyâd left you. But you couldnât, despite all your efforts, you couldnât.Â
And as your vision faded to black, all you could think of was your brother and how you wanted to be with him again, more than anything in the world.Â
--
And now, John B was going to be sick to his stomach so he stood up to pace while fighting the bile in his throat. Rafe Cameron. Rafe Cameron took away something youâd never even had a chance to consider.
âDid heâŠâ The open ended question made John B dizzy at the thought of everything that youâd gone through, and when you shook your head no, he choked out a cough instead of the lunch he was threatening to leave in the bush.
You watched him from your spot on the stairs, heart racing as you recounted everything youâd told Kie earlier that day. âThere was so much, um, scar tissue from the kickingâŠand the drugs. A-and they said it caused permanent damage that even if I wanted to get pregnant, I wouldnât make it long.â
âWhen did you find out? The hospital? Or-or-â John B stopped pacing, his hand tugging at his hair to keep him from absolutely raging in the cemetery.
âIt was when you got arrested,â You continued to explain around your tears before he lost his chill. âThere was so much bleeding and⊠I didnât know what to doâŠso I told Pope, and his dad took me to the hospital and-â
âPope knows?â John B had never sounded so upset at the idea of one of his best friends finding out this information before he did. You were his sister, his other half no matter what happened. He wanted you to trust him, to lean on him for everything and anything you wanted. âWhy didnât you tell me?â
You shrugged lightly, your voice cracking as you spoke, âBecause Iâm embarrassed? And ashamed and JJâs going to leave when he finds out and-â
John B picked you up from the stairs and held you so tightly, he couldâve sworn you disappeared. His chest shook with your sobs as you sunk into the embrace. You werenât even 19 yet and the possibility of growing a family with your boyfriend, John Bâs best friend, was practically non-existent.Â
Adoption was always an option, but John B knew what you were grieving, because he had almost grieved it when he lost Sarah on that table in Nassau. Plus, letâs not lie, the chances of you all getting your shit together and getting approved for that kind of thing were slipping away by the day. There was still so much time in your lives (you hoped), that you shouldnât be hearing this news at such a young age, but like you said, life had been so cruel.Â
John B stood there, with you in his arms, for as long as youâd let him. You cried for most of it, but a part of you was relieved he knew. You had tried to keep the conversation away as long as possible, like if you didnât speak of it, youâd never have to accept that it was real. But it was, and you had to come to the realization that John B wouldnât be an uncle to kids that youâd created on your own, that JJ wouldnât ever get to redeem himself as a Dad to kids of his own, that youâd never get that experience.
âIâm so sorry, I⊠I shouldâve been there, I shouldâve never left without you,â John B apologized and placed his hand on the back of your head to hold you closer. âGod, I shouldnât have-I didnât mean for this to happen. I never meant for any of this to happen.âÂ
ââS not your fault,â You mumbled, every word being so honest. It had taken a lot of thought, but you couldnât and you wouldnât blame John B for what heâd done. He was a terrified kid, and you were too in your own ways. He was running for his life and you were watching from the sidelines. Older and younger. Brother and sister. Trapped in this horrible spiral life had given you.
âWhat are we looking for?â
An unsuspecting voice had you and John B diving for a hiding spot, your brother tugging you behind a gravestone that would keep both of you from prying eyes. John B held a finger to his lips, teary eyes making contact with yours as you were wrenched out of your heartbreaking conversation and back into reality.Â
Keeping his hand on your shoulder to hold you out of view, John B peeked around the gravestone to see two figures wandering the cemetery with a lantern, obviously looking for something other than a deceased loved one.Â
âWeâre looking for an angel. A gatekeeper. One that looks a bit like her. Hello, Stede Bonnet,â A woman answered the question. âIsnât that a beauty? Excellent, come on.â
You shivered, whether from the cool stone against your back or fear, you didnât know and risked glancing over to see the two figures investigating another grave a few feet away from you. They were pulling out heavy tools in an attempt to open whatever was lying inside.Â
âShit,â John B whispered as you watched the woman place the amulet youâd found in the shipwreck into the stone, the headstone scraping open as she did. You quickly recognized the man as the one who had caught you and JJ while diving and again in the hospital, so that left this woman to be his boss.
After a moment of silence and more scraping noises, they disappeared under the stone, down into the tomb that lay beneath. Thunder cracked overhead and you jumped, grabbing onto John Bâs arm in surprise.Â
He moved away slowly and your grip tightened to stop him. âJohn B!â
âShh, just stay behind me. Weâre so not done with that conversation, by the way.â
You shuffled out slowly in fear of someone getting the jump on the two of you. John B paused in front of the headstone that the two people from earlier read; the angel statue had an outstretched hand, which you followed to the tomb they disappeared in.
âThe gatekeeper will guide the way,â John B repeated as he followed your gaze. âHoly shit.â
âHoly shit,â You gasped out in shock, realizing they very much had figured out the words on the amulet faster than youâd planned. âDo you thinkâŠâ
âTheyâll be fine,â John B reassured, although you couldnât tell if he was speaking more to himself or you. âTheyâre smart. Right?â
You tilted your head in consideration. âBetter than us being down there.â
âYeah, yeah. Way better than us.â
âPopeâs super smart.â
âRight and Cleoâs got her knife.â
âSarahâs not dumb, sheâll be fine.â
âKie can have her moments, but-â
Your reasoning was cut off as the headstone shifted and the two individuals from earlier climbed out. John B pushed you behind him further into the shadows of the building as you watched on with curious gazes. Lightning lit up the sky before thunder boomed around you, the storm clearly moving in closer despite your wishes.Â
You needed to find your friends. And fast.

FEEL BETTER YET? - MS
No Nut November - Day 7
NNN Masterlist...
-†When you are on your period, Matt is always there to look after you
Every month you endured pain like no other, your abdomen puncturing you from the inside out. It was only 3am but it felt like you had been up for hours, tossing and turning to find any relief. Painkillers failed to aid you and if you moved too much, spurts of nausea floated around your body.
The one thing you were concerned about was not staining your boyfriendâs sheets underneath you. You had already changed a few times in the night, at that point it was better to stay there. The entirety of your body was pushed against the radiator, locating any lingering warmth you could without having to manually do it yourself.
It was agonising, the fact this had to happen at all to you made emotions sky rocket. The trembles of your body matched the way your breathing shuddered when your stomach clenched.
Just as another tear fell, the light above you flickered on.
âBaby? FuckâŠare you okay?â Matt was by your side in an instant, his touch giving you the warm you desperately were trying to clutch onto. He was quietly analysing you and the scene in front of him as his concern increased. Each time you wanted to speak smoothly, the sharp pains constructed you. It just made you whimper in pain and it broke Mattâs heart.
He was used to you having rough periods, but this was on another level. You could breathe. You couldnât think clearly, your mind fogged with the sheer agony within.
âWhy arenât you in bed baby, you couldâve woken meâŠyou know thatâŠâ His tone was gentle and made you sob a few more tears before any words left.
âI- I didnât want to bloody your sheets..or uh bother youâŠâ You looked away once you saw his face twist into one almost filled with guilt. Independency was idolised by you, he saw it in everything you did. But he wanted to take care of you, this was the small sliver he had and he was going to use that.
âIâll be back, okay? Just two seconds my love.â Just as quickly as he spoke, he left. The light above remained on, a signal he was still there. Rustling was heard in the distance but once the pain surged it was hard to focus on. Everything was too much. Towels bunched up around you, trying to protect you from the pain, no matter how much it didnât work.
The sharp pains in your stomach had only gotten worse, even after medication. Every time that Matt crossed your mind it only made you feel so needy, clingy. Like a burden.
Matt returned quickly with his hands full on certain products you couldnât quite make out. âSo first off, I got the chocolates from the fridge I saved for you, and some of those sweets you like to chewâŠâ The packets were held up as he showed them off to you. âI got some of the stronger medications for if you needed to top off with them, uh, I grabbed your socks too and just made a hot water bottle for you. I know last time was a little too hot, so I put some cold water into it as well. â
His gaze finally met your eyes, staring at the pile with tears forming. It was obvious you weren't blinking so that you didn't cry. You knew if you had tried to speak, your emotions would quickly be revealed, if they weren't already by your expression. Your lips switched into a small smile, full of gratitude towards him.
âI- Thank youâŠreallyâ
âAnytime, I mean that. I just want to be here for you, no matter what.â You let out a small chuckle, allowing yourself to finally give into his efforts to take care of you, you needed it in the moment. Not that youâd admit that to him. He quickly placed the items on your his bed before returning to your side.
One arm reached under your knees while the other supported your back as he pulled you to his chest. It was warm and it was safe. You almost forgot about the pain. Almost.
He lowered you onto the mattress on your side of the bed before handing you the hot water bottle, along side your medication and a drink. He wanted to look after you, not overwhelm you. Matt pulled back from you, climbing under the duvet alongside you.
âI donât want you to worry about the sheets or bothering me, just worry about yourself. Youâre my priority and I never wanting you to think that ill ignore your pain. Never ever will I do that to you sweetheart.â His voice was barely heard over my breathing and a part of you wanted to ignore it, you couldnât.
Subconsciously your body drew close towards him, the heat of the bottle inching closer to his skin until your head lay on his shoulder. âFeel better yet?â You nodded slightly. The pain had subsided, the bottle and his words warming the aches away.
âI love you, you know that right?â A soft smile covered his lips, placing a light kiss on your head.
âI love you too..â
This was what you needed.

Did I mention? âjames potter
james potter x slytherin!reader
james declared himself to yn during a quidditch game in the most ridiculus way possible

The Quidditch game between Gryffindor and Slytherin had been one of the most intense that Hogwarts had seen in years. The stands were full of energy as students from the houses cheered on their teams. Gryffindor's victory was a close one, as James caught the Snitch minutes before Slytherin's Seeker.
As the crowd erupted in cheers, James landed gracefully on the field, his heart pounding not only from the excitement of the game, but from the plan he had meticulously crafted over the previous two weeks. He spotted Y/n Nott, a Slytherin with whom he had shared a number of heated, yet interesting, exchanges over the years. She was fiercely intelligent, strikingly beautiful, and always seemed to be out of his league, which only motivated him further.
Determined and confident, James motioned to Sirius who immediately took the microphone Professor McGonagall had been using to announce the match and handed it to him. James took a deep breath, his Gryffindor courage motivating him as he spoke into the microphone.
"Attention, everyone!" James's voice boomed, drawing the attention of the entire crowd. "I have something important to say."
The stadium fell silent, all eyes on him. James' heart raced even faster when he saw Y/n in the Slytherin stands, studying his actions with curiosity. Nearby, Lily Evans, his friend and lifelong crush (or so they said), stared at him with a mix of surprise and confusion.
''A few years ago, I met a girl who I've completely fallen in love with'' - James began to say - ''I've admired her for a long time. Her intelligence, her strong personality⊠everything about her captivates me. I've been head over heels for her for as long as I can remember.".''
Lily's heart skipped a beat. Her friends nudged her, whispering excitedly, "He's talking about you, Lily!"
Lily felt her cheeks burn. She was ready to scream at him, she was already forming the words in her mind. How dare he make such a public spectacle? But before she could utter a sound, James continued.
"And I can't think of a better way to express how I feel than right here, right now."
Suddenly, the marauders sprang into action. Sirius, with a mischievous grin, waved a huge sign that read, "Say Yes!" Peter, struggling but determined, held up another sign next to Sirius that read, "You won't regret it!" and Remus carried another with the words, "You won't be disappointed!"
The entire Gryffindor section erupted into laughter and applause, adding to the festive chaos. Y/n couldn't help but laugh and shook her head in disbelief at the spectacle not knowing it was for her.
James took a deep breath and turned directly to Y/n. "So.....Y/n Nott, would you please do me the honor of going to the Yule Ball with me?"
The stadium fell into stunned silence. The shock was clear as everyone took in the unexpected twist. Lily froze, her mouth slightly agape in disbelief. She had been sure he was talking about her. Y/n was also taken aback, her cheeks turning bright red.
âAre you serious, Potter?â she shouted. âIs this a prank?â
"Dead serious Nott!" James responded with a huge smile on his face. "What do you say?"
Y/n hesitated for a moment, the entire stadium hanging on her response. Finally, she smiled and nodded. "Alright, Potter. You've got yourself a date."
The crowd roared in approval, students from all houses unable to contain their excitement at the unexpected turn of events except for the snakes. James felt as if he was floating on air as he handed the microphone back to a bewildered McGonagall and walked over to Y/n excitedly.
Meanwhile, Lily stood frozen in place, her heart clenching as she watched the scene unfold. She had always known that James had feelings for her, but seeing him so openly and passionately declare his affection for someone else was a bitter pill to swallow. Jealousy and regret gnawed at her as she forced a smile, clapping along with the rest of the students.
"I can't believe it," she muttered under her breath "I thought he was going to ask me outâŠâŠagain."
Sirius, who had been standing nearby, overheard her. With a teasing grin, he leaned in and said, "Girl, he's not going to ask you out anymore, sorry."
While Remus gave him a disapproving look while he elbowed Sirius in the ribs for speaking to Lily like that.
Lily turned to him, her eyes wide with a mix of indignation and shock. "Excuse me?"
Sirius chuckled, shaking his head. "You really thought he was going to ask you? Come on, Lily. Open your eyes. He's been over you since ages ago."
Lily opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out. She stood there, speechless, as the reality of the situation sank in. All this time, she had been so certain of James's affections, and now, seeing him with Y/n, she realized just how wrong she had been.
When James reached Y/n, who was still shaking her head in disbelief, he smiled warmly at her. "You're something special, Potter," she said, a smile tugging at her lips.
"I aim to impress," he replied, not taking his gaze from her while he gave her the golden snitch.

If your request is still open and if you're comfortable with it can I ask for Halsin, Gale, Astarion, Gortash and Raphael on thier wedding night with thier fem S/O?
â . đđ⧠characters : halsin, gale, astarion, gortash, raphael
â . đđ⧠content warning : mostly fluff, implied nsfw but nothing explicit, no use of y/n, fem!reader
â . đđ⧠words : 1,2k (235~ for each characters)
â . đđ⧠author's note : love i'm so sorry this took so long but school is eating me tf out (and not in the way i'd rather it to be done)
( not proofread, english is not my first language ïżœïżœïżœ)
â . đđ⧠halsin :
Your wedding takes place in the Grove, decorations adorning the pillars and the fountain. The fireflies waltzed gently through the air, the weather was mild, Spring had arrived and the trees were in bloom. Of course the wedding would take place during the season of love.
Halsin wears a set of traditional Druid robes, his hair loose and braided with rosemary and lavender, his brown locks seeming to be the real earth that grows them.
His bare feet dig their heels into the fresh earth as his eyes landed on you.
Your hair was loose and held in beautiful waves with little flowers set into it. You were wearing a traditional druidic dress, the shades matching Halsin's outfit perfectly.
Silvanus had more than blessed him; he felt touched by his personal grace to have you as his eternal partner.
After exchanging your vows, you were drowned in a shower of petals from various flowers, all smiling as you kissed.
Everyone was dancing and an all-you-can-eat buffet was on display. Your chairs were the ground, the rocks and the steps leading up to the grove from the fountain.
When you and Halsin escaped the festivities, you found no bridal bed of feathers and straws, but headed for the forest.
In a clearing sheltered from view, a witch's circle covered in moss and flowers awaited you.
Man or Bear, this night was set to be unforgettable for you both.
â . đđ⧠gale :
Gale had embellished an entire room, the powers of the Weave bringing an atmosphere and aesthetic beyond imagination.
Wisteria rained down from the endless ceiling, particles of violet, blue and golden light twirled in the air, bringing smiles to every body they touched.
Gale wore superb violet robes, had on his most beautiful earrings, his beard coated with sweet, spicy-scented oils.
The guests didn't need to be many, but all Gale's acquaintances and yours were there, and that was enough for you.
When you arrived, your dress was light, silk and crystal organza mingling like flower petals to trail your steps.
Your vows were exchanged, and with a smile he kissed you to the cheers of all around.
The surrounding area was transformed into a glade, the stars shining like diamonds on a blanket of blue velvet. Fairies flitted here and there, and you and Gale were lying on a set of soft rugs, chatting about everything and nothing over bunches of grapes and other fruit.
The atmosphere was a perfect reminder of your first night, in the forest, the milky way crossing the night like a multicoloured ribbon. Just the two of you.
Just the two of you? You turned your eyes, and the guests were gone, and the surroundings had changed again. A little teleportation, and you'd found yourselves in a bed, smiling and warm-skinned.
â . đđ⧠astarion :
If there was one point of honour Astarion was counting on, it was that your wedding took place before sunset and continued through the night until he took you to bed at sunrise.
Everything was surrounded by jewels, gold and silver at the request of Astarion, who hoped that this extravagant organisation would make the sun shine all around him and the guests.
Cazador manor had abandoned its coldness to welcome the warmth of the many guests, wine in their bellies, and laughter exploding in every corridor.
Astarion was elegantly dressed, having personally chosen the fabrics for his black, white and red attire.
The crowd fell silent as you descended the steps leading to the main hall, your dress and veil a gradation of white to red to black. If Astarion still had a heartbeat, he was sure it would have stopped in its tracks.
Your vows were exchanged as the sun crossed the horizon, and the party resumed in earnest.
The whole night was spent waltzing around, laughing as Astarion told you jokes about every guest present, and downing flutes of champagne bubbling with excitement.
When dawn came, he didn't waste a single second taking you in his arms, carrying you like a princess to the door of your quarters.
Your heart beat in unison as the sun peeked through your curtains and flooded Astarion's face in a warm caress between your thighs.
â . đđ⧠gortash :
the event was inevitably gigantic. The whole town was to cease its day's activities, abandon its work and come to the castle to celebrate.
All the best pastry chefs and cooks had been requisitioned by his orders to offer as much variety as possible in the dishes. The event was so grand that it made you wonder whether Gortash would not take the opportunity to make this a public holiday, a day of celebration for all in honour of your union.
Of course, Gortash had paid who knows how many gold coins for the best stylists he could find to make his outfit and yours.
He smiled courteously at the guests in the throne room, always mindful of the need to forge links and do business.
But these thoughts soon faded from his mind as you entered the room, dressed all in white, the very incarnation of purity and perfection before his eyes.
Your vows were exchanged, and a thunderous applause filled the room as the bells rang outside. You both left the chĂąteau, the crowd throwing rice and petals into the air as you entered your carriage.
He would have loved to let the whole castle know that night that you were his wife, but he had built a house away from everyone where you could properly consummate your love.
â . đđ⧠raphael :
The House of Hope has never been so full of demons and guests of honour. I mean hell, the entirety of the Nines have been invited in here. You even wondered how the marble hadn't crumbled since then just by the sheer number of people here. But by some trick that has escaped you, just for this occasion, everything has been enlarged.
Raphael's wings have been covered in jewels, fine golden chains set with precious stones running around the edges of his wings, bracelets gleaming on the horns of his skull as he adorned the most elegant robes the underworld had to offer.
All the decadence of the underworld ceased for just a few moments as you descended the stairs to the main hall, Raphael's dark eyes covering your entire body.
You were wearing his colours in one of the most sumptuous outfits he had ever seen, and for this he had put all the best stylists on the case.
It was without doubt the most expensive wedding in centuries, and Raphael would probably have been furious if it hadn't been.
The vows were exchanged, and it took every ounce of the demon's strength not to rip off every bit of fabric separating your skin from his hands.
Fortunately for him, he didn't have to respect any marriage rules, certainly not in the underworld or in his own home.
It didn't take him long to kiss the back of your neck and for you to disappear in a dark cloud to the roars of joy from the guests.
halsin, gale, astarion, gortash, raphael

Healing Word
Lucanis Dellamorte x GN!Rook (Mage)
Warnings: Injuries, Mentions of blood, NO Spoilers :) Summary: Lucanis gets injured as is too stubborn to ask for help with it. Hope you enjoy! Requests for Dragon Age are open
You spotted his limp almost immediately after the battle. The fight was a tough one, adding a few more scars to your already growing collection, no thanks to the Venitori. You watched as he limped through the Eluvian, whispering curses under his breath when his daggers would accidentally hit it. The group filtered out towards their rooms, getting ready to shed the armour that began to pinch at their skin after a long day. Magic hummed around them as they were greeted home.
The meditation chamber hummed in greeting when you walked through the doors. The sound of armour clattering on the ground as you peeled yourself away from it. You stood at the mirror examining the new collection of bruises and small scraps you had gained today. Your magic soothing the aches and pains away as the minor ones began to fade. Part of you wanted to join the others for whatever was for tea, the lingering exhaustion had finally caught up. You sighed as your body hit the chair in the center of the room, the cushions moulding around your body perfectly as you fell into a nap -praying that Solas would interrupt this one this time.
The sound of the door opening made you shoot up, your hair messy and sticking up all over the place. You rubbed the back of your hand over your eyes as you turned to face the intruder only to find Lucanis standing at the entrance. "Is everything alright?" You grumbled out. His posture was stiff even though he was hunched over, and a purple glow surrounded him to let you know that it wasn't him. "Spite?" You questioned again, sitting further up as you watched him walk around the chair in front of you. "The fool is injured and bleeding everywhere...help him" Spite gritted out before releasing his hold on Lucanis. You barely had time to catch him as the man fell forward collapsing half on you and the sofa. Then you could see the large patch of blood on the side of his leg. The blood had seeped through enough it lingered on your fingertips when you gently pressed it trying to find the wound.
"Maker Lucanis" you muttered as you manoeuvred him to lay on the chair. You knelt on the floor next to him, sending your healing magic to gently probe the area only to find that he had half wrapped it in a thick padding of bandages. You paused before, groaning loudly as your fingers began to undo the ribbons of fabric that held his trousers up before shimming them down to his knees. Your cheeks flushed at the intimacy of the situation; it had only been a few months and your constant flirting hadn't really got you anywhere besides lingering gazes and unspoken emotions behind his eyes. You cursed your fingers being so cold as you began to slowly unwrap the bandages on his legs, his body flinching as you accidentally made contact with his skin. The air between you both began to glow a light green as your magic had finally found its target, you watched carefully as the skin started to fuse together, the blood stopping its flow down his leg.
You moved from his side to grab a couple of washcloths and water before you began to gently clean the area. When you gazed back up at him, you were met with his eyes open watching you. The two of paused as you waited for him to speak first, you watched as his eyes flickered towards the light scar that lingered on his leg and then back to you. "Spite bought you here...He asked me to help" You spoke, your voice barely above a whisper as you waited for his reaction. "Of course, he did" Lucanis grumbled. You removed your hand from his leg, backing up away from the chair to give him room to move about. You eyed up the small whisps of hair that led to his underwear as he stood to dress himself. "I'm sorry for stepping in the wound was still bleeding and he asked me-"
"It's fine, Thank you"
You nodded as he stood up to leave. Your eyes lingered on his retreating form. Lucanis turned again, his fingers barely touching the door handle. "Hopefully next time I'm like that it won't be because of a injury"
He left you standing in the middle of the room like a blushing idiot, a grin on his face as he made his way back towards the pantry of the lighthouse, no limp in sight anymore.

Sweet Like Candy
Warnings: cursing, light smut, probably mischaracterization (If Iâm missing any warnings please tell me!đ«¶)
Background: Bakugo hated sweet things, he thought they were a gateway to give people diabetes. So it wasnât weird for his class to see him not even eat more than half a slice of his own birthday cake. Itâs not like he hated sugar, he just didnât like the gross aftertaste in his mouth, the way his hands get all sticky depending on what heâs eating (fuckin neat freak), the aching in his stomach that could come if he ate too much, what idiot would put themselves through that much torture just for 5 seconds of deliciousness? You. You would. So when Class 1-A decided to visit a sweet shop to celebrate a big rescue, best believe he grumbled about the suggestion until he arrived and saw- you.
After their latest mission, Class 1-A decided to celebrate, and someone suggested a sweets shop. Bakugoâs reaction was immediate and definitely wasnât sweet.
âA damn candy store?â he grumbled, arms crossed, glaring at everyone like theyâd betrayed him. âWe just kicked ass, and you wanna celebrate with a sugar high?â
âOh, come on, Bakugo!â Mina insisted, practically dragging him along despite his protests. âItâll be fun! This place has everythingâchocolates, pastries, even dark chocolate. You might like something!â
With a scowl, he stepped into The Sugar Nest. Pastel pinks and blues covered the walls, fairy lights twinkling around the room. The warm scent of baked goods filled the air, and Bakugo looked like heâd just entered his worst nightmare.
And then he noticed you. You were behind the counter, handing a cupcake to a kid who immediately took a big bite, grinning as frosting smudged his nose. When you looked up at the group, you greeted everyone with a bright smile. Class 1-A stampeded toward the displays, but Bakugo kept his distance, arms crossed, shooting death glares at the cakes and cookies.
You noticed his sour expression and couldnât help but tease. âNot a fan of sweets?â
Bakugo scoffed. âHell no. I donât eat sugar-coated crap,â he muttered, practically daring you to argue.
You didnât back down. Instead, you leaned on the counter, smirking. âMaybe youâve just never had the right kind.â You reached into the display and picked out a small square of dark chocolate with sea salt. âHere. Dark chocolateâno sticky fingers, no sugar overload. Just the good stuff.â
He looked at you like youâd just handed him a grenade. But he took the chocolate, biting into it like he wanted to hate it. Only he didnât. The bitterness and salt were perfectly balanced, with no sugary aftertaste.
âItâs⊠fine,â he muttered, chewing slowly.
âSee?â you teased. âNot all sweets are just sugar bombs.â
From that day on, Bakugo told himself he was only at the shop to âkeep the idiots in check.â But every time Class 1-A ended up at The Sugar Nest, he somehow found himself in front of the counter, accepting whatever dark chocolate creation youâd saved for him. Then, one day, he came in alone. You noticed him walking in, arms crossed, pretending it was a coincidence.
âBack again, huh?â you greeted him, a small grin on your face.
He shrugged, attempting his usual scowl. âNothing better to do,â he muttered.
You handed him a dark chocolate truffle dusted with smoky sea salt. He took a bite, his eyes narrowing slightly as he savored the intense, smoky flavor.
âSo, do you really hate sweets, or do you just hate everything on principle?â you teased, resting your elbows on the counter.
âMost sweets suck,â he replied immediately, then shrugged. âNot all of âem.â
You raised an eyebrow, smirking. âGuess thatâs as close to a compliment as Iâll get.â
He rolled his eyes, but you saw a flicker of a smile, which felt like a victory.
In the weeks that followed, Bakugo kept showing up, sometimes with his classmates, sometimes on his own. Each time, heâd lean on the counter, muttering about whatever new treat you handed him. You fell into a routine, chatting about anything and everything, and he started bringing things for you, tooâa rare spice he thought youâd like, an herb heâd grown, even a small cactus heâd claimed was âjust in the way.â Heâd hand them over with a gruff âfigure youâd know what to do with this,â and each time, your face lit up, and he seemed secretly pleased.
One afternoon, he stayed after the shop had closed, leaning on the counter as you finished cleaning up.
âWhat?â you asked, noticing his intense gaze.
He shrugged. âDidnât know youâd be workinâ this late.â
âWell, I own the place. Sometimes, Iâm here all night,â you replied, glancing at him. âWhy? You sticking around for something?â
He paused, his usual glare softening. âMaybe,â he muttered, looking away, and you felt your cheeks heat up.
Gathering your courage, you handed him a last treatâa dark chocolate infused with chili. As he bit into it, his eyes widened, the smoky heat mingling with the bitter chocolate. âDamn,â he muttered. âDidnât think Iâd like this.â
âOh?â you teased, stepping closer. âSo you donât hate all sweets after all?â
He looked at you, his cheeks tinged with pink. His hand brushed against yours almost unconsciously. âYeah, well,â he muttered, âyouâre the only sweet thing Iâll ever want to taste,â his voice dropping as his gaze fixed on you.
Your heart skipped as he leaned in, his lips capturing yours in a kiss that was unexpectedly soft, his rough exterior melting as his hand found your waist. You could taste the chili chocolate on his lips, and you smiled, feeling his grip tighten.
When he pulled back, he smirked, his eyes glinting. âDonât get used to it,â he muttered, though the way he lingered, his hand still holding yours, told you everything you needed to know.
You smiled, whispering, âGuess you donât hate all sweets after all.â

Second Best- Jungkook (part 6)
Summary:Â Being friends with someone who has your heart itâs already hard, let alone when that special someone ends up falling in love with your best friend, the one you think would never make anything to hurt you . Will you be able to ignore it and move on? what will happen when everything gets too much for you to handle?
Genre:Â Friends to lovers; angst; body insecurities; bullying; friend betrayel;
Pairing:Â Jungkook x female!reader
Jungkook woke up around 9:30 am. The first thing he did was check his phone in case he had any notifications from Y/n, but had none. He was seriously getting worried about this lack of response. Had something happened with the person Y/n left with? If that was the case he would never be able to forgive himself. He knew he should have gone after her, he's so stupid.Â
He got up, took a quick shower, got dressed, grabbed his keys and left, he couldnât keep up with this uneasy feeling. Putting his helmet on, he drove to the coffee shop Y/n worked. He knew her shifts very well, and that was the only place he could find her. When he got there, he parked his bike, took a deep breath and got in looking everywhere for her but still no Y/n in sight.Â
âHey there moto boy. What can I get you?â Sana asked. Jungkook looked kinda confused. âI was actually looking for Y/n. Is she on her break?â Sana frowned and looked at him suspiciously.Â
âYouâre kidding right?â Sana exclamed. âYou are always together and talk to each otherall the time when you arenât. You canât tell me you didnât know she took some days offâÂ
The world fell at Jungkook's feet upon hearing that. Y/n took a few days off and didn't even answered to his texts or deign to call? what the fuck was going on. Jungkook nodded his head, said thank you and left, picking his phone up instantly to call Y/n. âThe person you called is not available. Please try again laterâÂ
Fuck. Me
------------Â
Y/n fell in love with that place as soon as she saw it. Everywhere she looked she she felt immense peace and everything seemed so quiet and cozy, everything to make the weight on her shoulders disappear. Upon entering the chalet, they were immediately greeted by a gentleman at the entrance who directed them to the reception.
After checking in and receive the keys, they picked up their luggage and followed the gentlemanto the elevator, who was showing them the way to their "apartmentâ. Y/n couldnât believe what her eyes were seeing. Walking in, sheâs faced with a very nice living room, with wooden walls and gray furniture. It had shelves with books, among other really cute stuff decorating the place. All very neutral and very light, exactly what she needed. On the coffee table was champagne and a plate with strawberries and chocolate with a small note saying "we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy your presence. Thanks for choosing us. Have fun"Â
From the living room they went to the bedroom to organize their things. When they walked in Y/n was even more astonished. From their bed they had a view of the outside. She always loved snow and being there was filling her heart with so much happiness she wished she could live there forever.
âWhere did you find this place and how can you afford it for both of us?!â Y/n exclaimed. Lisa looked at her with a funny look âMy dad owns it. A benefit of traveling so much and not seeing his family for so long, not everything can be bad. I used to come here for Christmast and New year. It's crazy during those days and you know me, I love crazy and those were my favourite moments hereâ
Y/n laughed. Only Lisa could say something like that.Â
âSo⊠You know how to ski right?â Lisa asked out of nowhere. âOh hell no Lisa, no way, not right now, we just got here we shouldââ Y/n argued back but was soon interrupted by LisaÂ
âThere's a snow suit in the closet on the right. We have a lot to discover we won't wait until tomorrow. You rest during the night. Come on princess, time is moneyâ Y/n huffed while getting her suit to start putting it on. How could Lisa have so much energy was something she couldn't understand.
They both got dressed and head out of the chalet. Y/n was amazed by the view, everything was perfect. But itâs not an adventure if something doesn't go right for Y/n. Out of nowhere she lost sight of Lisa, making her panick. She had no idea where she was.
Y/n looked around trying to see her friend but couldnât identify anyone who would look like her. She started walking around worried about straying too far from where Lisa last saw her. Y/n was so distracted that she didn't even notice anyone coming close to her, ending up colliding with that person, causing her to lose balance and fall. The other person quickly knelt down, stretching out his hand to help her until she heard âY/n?âÂ
She looked up, took the stranger's hand and straightened her hair a little, trying to understand where she recognized that voice from, until the stranger took the protective mask off his eyes and saw him.
âTaehyung?â Â
