The Gravedigger is so moody and vibey. It's coming from a vaguely familiar place, but you're still not quite sure what horror to brace for. It's come from very old horror stock. Lily has a much more literary approach to her writing and the subtle shift brings out a lot of new colors in the characters and the show.

Yes I put that line in, but it only stands out as a pop of flavor because of the hearty stew it's been brewing in. (I put it in as one of few small breadcrumbs to set some things up this season, as I sometimes do in bonus episodes)

And it is, as it always is, the actors who sell it.

Explorer au meets trolls world tour

This is the current final post since I don't have anything else ready and or queued up XD

Jade finds herself separated from her family and looking for a way back, the world is big and dangerous so she becomes a bounty hunter as a means of assisting her search, she thinks she's getting close when a world shaking tour and an interesting bounty fall on her plate.

Branch (since this is still within the N2 au just shifted a bit) has been living with Floyd so he's changed a bit, he tried to give himself bangs, which didn't work out, and he now wears a brown tunic under his leaf vest, a gift from another person who helped him and floyd out, a secret someone yet to be revealed teehee.

Poppy is mostly unchanged, as most of the N2 au effects Brozone, tho she is a bit closer with Branch than in canon due to circumstances!

My favorite fairytales growing up was Snow White and The Pied Piper.

I remember having seen different adaptations of these two stories and I always loved it

... Shrek being my favorite lol

As you may have heard already, the sfx and voice effects for P were done by a native Korean voice actor and not Joe Pitts like I previously believed. He is credited as Seok Seunghoon under Development Support in the game's end credits and also provided sfx for The Parade Master, Magician puppet, and additional enemies.

They shared some really interesting notes in their instagram post! Instagram has a built-in translator, but it's a little confusing. I'm thinking of adding the translation in a separate post later.

His online portfolio is up here and he also provided the korean dubbed voice for the antagonist Jack Horner in the recent Dreamworks animation Puss and Boots 2 [I think he's signed with KBS]. Really cool hearing him both sounding very closely to John Mulaney, dubbing in another language, and performing the role!

But I think this one from the demo reel is probably my favourite. lol

I really hope he can stay with the franchise in some capacity. I enjoy that kind of casting continuity.

[By "native" I mean that the game's english voice work, dialogue editorial, and casting were outsourced to Liquid Violet Studios in the UK, and it seems like Seok Seunghoon was a domestic hire and worked directly with NEOWIZ.]

I think most of you should be less concerned with the shrek redesigns and more concerned that the teaser tried to pull a "how do you do fellow kids" with the memes

13 years later and I still can’t believe Dreamworks had the balls to just amputate a 15-year old kid and handled it in like the best way possible.

DreamWorks has always had such mature themes now that I think about it, and they introduced them and handled them in a way that seems so natural to children.

Hiccup’s amputation is such a good example.

DreamWorks didn’t gloss over it either, and even they continued, in every show and every movie from then on, to show what it’s like living with a disability like that. There were some things Hiccup had a harder time doing than before, but in no way did it get in the way of his goals and dreams.

I didn’t understand how important that was when I was a child, watching the movie for the first time, but I understand it now.

Something I’ve always loved about these little cuties’ designs is that Dreamworks didn’t just put wings on baby donkeys but also made the mane hair along their backs look like the spikes on Dragon’s back, gave them tails like Dragon instead of donkey tails and made their ears shaped like Dragon’s fins

with the how to train your dragon live action remake on the horizon, it made me want to rewatch the original

and fucking hell i forgot how phenomenal it is, like my god

the music, the animations, the friendship between hiccup and toothless makes me cry

the subtle details, especially in toothless' movements. i love how when hiccup comes around with the fish the first time and toothless is sitting on the rock, you can see his tail start to flick and sway, like "hey, the human brought food..."

this movie is a masterpiece and just... what's the point in remaking it? especially in live action, which still has the dragon's animated! if the dragons aren't going to be puppets or some sort of giant props, why make everything else live action in the first place?!

thinking back to the trailer, there's a subtle thing that really makes me think this is a cash grab no one actual care about

in the original movie, when hiccup finds toothless bound up, toothless' pupils are sharp. of course they are, they become sharp when he's angry and being intimidating, or when he's straight up scared. he's trying to scare hiccup off and only lays his head down when he realizes that the intimidation isn't working. his pupils only become dilated when he's calm and happy

so why, in the same exact scene in the trailer, are his pupils dilated?

i'm sure i'm reading far too much into this, especially since this is only one scene in the trailer. but if they can't even get his body language right, how can i trust that the rest of the movie will be just as good as the original?

considering this seems to be a shot for shot remake, just rewatch the original. don't even pirate the remake to hate watch it, cuz it's just going to be the same thing without any of the charm the original had

and anyways yeah how to train your dragon is fucking amazing and i'm so glad i decided to rewatch it

Salem: Actually, that would be a giant. (The mob gasps and start backing away. She advances) Now, witches, they're much worse. They'll make a soup from your freshly-peeled skin.

Townsman: No!

Salem: They'll shave your liver, squeeze the jelly from your eyes! (thoughtfully) Actually, it's quite good on toast.

(One townsman bravely waves his torch at Salem)

Townsman 4: Back! Back, beast! Back! I warn ya!

(Salem sticks her fingers in her mouth, then douses the flame with a pinch)

I finally watched Shrek 3.....

And to my intense surprise, I actually loved it! It's effortlessly funny, emotional at serious scenes and very adorable at bonding moments.

Also dare I think but Disney wreck-it-ralph 2 was trying to re-enact or copy what s3 did with the princesses and lets just say...Disney you were a washed out imitation and frankly speaking, very bland.

You can never beat the original one, Disney 😏
