my phone being broken made me realize how much peace & clarity of mind it gives me to not be on-call 24/7 and connected to all these apps.

BUT without being logged on, i don't see events, news updates and calls to action for so many vital activism campaigns like jail support, mutual aid, and aiding Palestinian families to evacuate Rafah...tbh it would be amazing to have a social media scanner app that could scan instagram and twitter (hell hell hell) and signal and telegram and put it all in an RSS feed or like a to-do list or calendar or at least an email or SOMETHING I wish to all hell I understood app development.

I would make something like this too for messages - a notification filter app to intercept signal, text, telegram, insta, fb messenger, whatsapp, discord direct messages into a single Command Center with priority folders like Gmail has. You could sort your messages. For me it would be: organizing/activism, personal, family, appointment reminders/housekeeping messages, community group chats. obvious & easier answer is to stop using everything but one app. however not everyone I need to connect to is on one app. our brains were not made to be 24/7 message answering machines. I am unable to manage my ADHD w social media always right there ready to deliver a huge rush of adrenaline, fear, anger, or even just little dopamine hits of notifications. these applications are designed to be addicting and my body is screaming at me to reclaim my attention. might start telling people they have to call me to catch up. texting & social media is no longer fun. it used to be fun. now it is hell. you have to two step verify everything and there are ads and politics and constant attention bombardment & I'm an ancient Linux trying to keep up with like, brushing my teeth and eating more than one meal a day. aghhhhhhh

i’m not sure what it would be but she’s definitely part of a fandom of a tv series or music group which is why she spends so much time on tumblr.

unlike eren, she actually has a case to prevent her screen from smashing - it would probably be one of those clear ones with flowers on the back, and she’d put in a polaroid picture of her and her friends in the back of it.

armin arlert:

he hasn’t got many posts on his instagram but a few of some pretty landscapes and a couple of group photos of him and his friends. his profile picture is of him, eren & mikasa.

literally could spend all day on wikipedia. he goes to google something but then falls down a rabbit hole.

does gaming live-streams with eren. people watch not to see gameplay but to see the entertainment that is jean and eren’s competitive arguing (they play a lot of call of duty, mario kart, but also minecraft when they’re actually on good terms with each other)

gets into heated arguments with people on twitter. they go on forever because jean likes to have the last word/tweet.

you know those people that always have their headphones in? jean is that kind of person. he’d be sneakily listening to music during class (let’s be real he’s definitely got airpods.)

marco bodt:

most used app: instagram (& whatsapp because he’s in a lot of group chats)

the best hype man. comments on all of his friends selfies telling them how gorgeous they look.

he sends motivational quotes and wholesome memes to all of his friends which are always appreciated.

marco’s the one to put together group chats and ensure that arguments in them are smoothly resolved (eren and jean are usually the culprits.)

sasha braus:

most used app: tiktok

definitely makes very chaotic tiktoks/tweets that just blow up and end up on popular pages that repost to instagram.

her and connie would spam group chats with memes and selfies with stupid filters on. sometimes they’ll just target one person in particular (always jean) and they end up getting kicked or blocked.

her instagram captions tend to be random quotes and inside jokes from her friends (mainly connie) much to the confusion of everyone else.

connie springer:

has a private account on instagram just to post embarrassing pictures of his friends.

half the time she’s on her phone is going to spent spent facetiming historia i can’t lie.

i personally hc that ymir in a modern!au would play either the bass or drums and i can just see historia begging to post a tiktok of her playing that then blows up - ymir would be so nonchalant about it but inside she’s dying of excitement.

probably has every group chat she’s in on mute - occasionally will lurk to see what’s going on, would only ever join in the conversation if drama was going down in which she’d send a gif of someone eating popcorn.

bertholdt hoover:

likes to watch those reddit story time videos. would spend a good few hours watching them without even realising what the time is.

follows so many cat accounts, she’s considering making her own to post pictures of her cat.

out of everyone, likely to be the person who uses social media/her phone the least, it probably overwhelms her quite a bit so unless she’s messaging someone (or looking at cats,) it’s unlikely to see annie on her phone.

does listen to a lot of music on spotify though - she’s got a study playlist, a playlist for when she’s at the gym, songs to listen when she’s just chilling at home - her spotify wrapped every year is pretty impressive.

On another note I may or may not have just dropped my laptop :) It’s still alive but barely breathing. 

like, the back corner of it’s been chipped but at the moment, it’s still working since I’m typing on it. But I have a feeling I may need to start looking for a new one soon...just as I get back into writing. Nice. :) The charger for it is buggered off -- it only works if I have the charger in a very specific position. Half of the keys on the keyboard won’t work anymore, hence why I have a USB keyboard. 

I really can’t afford a new laptop, hence why I have a USB keyboard and haven’t bought a new charger yet. :( I’ve pushed it all back into place (like the frame around the screen and such) and so far, it’s working.

I’ll keep you all updated if it doesn’t! I can’t stand writing on Tumblr mobile so I’ll probably be poofing again for a while if it suddenly stops working. I’ll keep you updated!!!

Also, Tumblr has been realllyyyyyy shitty with sending me notifications when I’m being tagged in something or if someone is messaging me. Today's Date is Tuesday Oct. 5th, 2021. Current time: 9:05pm

Dear Diary and anyone who reads this,

Sorry for not writing yesterday my Apa (AD) and Ama (AM) called me super late, I ended up falling asleep at 2am! Which is way later than I usually am awake, I woke up at 8am and texted J, I realized I also messaged him on insta in my sleep which was a bit odd, I called him a pretty boy. (I should not sleep text anymore) and we ended up playing a random game on snapchat though it was entirely by accident lol.

We ended up calling on discord, so we could chat about all sorts of things, not much happened today but it was nice spending time with J, I told him about how I accidentally meshed my friend Doll and I's faces together and how me and her child would look as a joke (I am gay). J and I watched a couple of videos that were pretty funny. He compared me to Arin from GG, which is pretty accurate to say the least. I am the gayest friend 😅. I ended up getting whatsapp!! We don't really use it where I live so it was a whole new experience and its so cool to use with all of its features! Me and J chatted back and forth on whatsapp for a while. We watched more videos about DnD. I ended up having to make dinner but I took him with me. I made soft tacos while he was explaining the history of his country. I don't know much about history but I like hearing him talk about it. 😊 He made me practice my Dutch (which is the language I've been learning for a while) and he watched as I stressed out over how time works in dutch. "Vijf over half zeven" should not mean "6:35" 😭 Outside of that we attempted to make a guild in CRK with my friend Doll, and GT which we're doing tomorrow!

As for yesterday,

Yesterday was pretty quiet, outside of me showering and talking with my Apa and Ama not much happened.

Apa and Ama were really fun to hang out with, we ended up playing MC and talking about life stuff, Apa made me a trapped parkour which was a bit mean but it was all in fun. Ama even called him a dick for it wkskwlwk. Its nice when Ama treats me like an actual kid because I don't feel so stressed to ask so many questions. And they're super supportive of me which is really nice. They wanna help me out of this state because of how bad the transphobia is. I hope things get better for them because Ama is the only one working right now and has modified work because she got hurt. And Apa isn't working right now because of some stuff that happened at work so he quit. It was really nice bonding with Apa, its nice calling someone Dad and not feeling bad about myself.

Speaking of, my bio dad texted me randomly but I've been ghosting him because he's super abusive, if I didn't mention it already. I've been trying to move forward from all the abuse that pushed onto me and hopefully this diary will help me.

Can I Just Say Something About Net Neutrality?

Now, I know we all are tired of this, so am I, in fact it's because of that that I'm writing this post. Every damn day, whenever I get online, three themes always appear: EA, loot box gambling and Net Neutrality. But I'm here to tell you a secret about the latter. Portugal doesn't have net neutrality. I'm serious. Now, it doesn't affect our speed, but it does affect our monthly mobile data cap, but I'll explain that ahead, you'll understand. So, I'm pretty sure you've heard that "If Net Neutrality happens you won't be able to access x site", "Y site's speed will be incredibly slow", or the one I saw today on Twitter "I'll try to access a site and I'll be told I have to pay extra to do it". But I don't think this will happen, at least not at first (unless ISP'S have death wishes). Do you want to know what I think will happen? They'll go so slow, you won't notice it at first. And they won't reduce your internet speed. Oh, no. But they will offer the series/movies/video addict a cute little package for that extra speed on YouTube & Netflix. Or if you're a social media fanatic, you'll be able the speed up your favourite messaging services and social media apps, all in the same package. For the hard working ones, you'll have a package to speed up email and cloud services! First you'll see maybe 2 packages, then 5, then 10, then they have packages that make websites/apps with sparkly icons faster... Or if you don't have an unlimited data cap, they can make you a package to have some extra monthly GB for your favourite set of apps. You know, like they do in Portugal . Here in Portugal, at least on mobile data plans, some packages add extra data to certain apps. Example: I remember when Pokemon Go came out, there was this package that gave you like, 2GB extra for the game (per month or week, don't remember which), plus WhatsApp, Facebook, Insta, Snapchat and a couple other's. Would you prefer using those 2GB for Wattpad? Deviantart? Discord? Tumblr? Too bad, you CAN'T! THIS is a real life scene of no net neutrality. It's happening here, and it will happen to you, America, unless a miracle happens. And if net neutrality is damaged, it will not be like the tsunami of misery and sluggishness everyone claims it's coming. It will be more like the slowly rising water of a river, that will drown you before you even realize what happened. Scariest thing: I didn't even realize we don't have net neutrality until someone pointed it out. So, if all those violent exclamations of extreme scenarios don't scare you, maybe the true, stealthy ones will. Americans, remember, speak to your representatives, sign petitions, yada yada, you know the drill. I wish I could do something, I've done all possible already. And good luck. PS: Reminder that you Americans can be hella crazy, and so can your companies, so maybe some crazier one might actually take the extreme route if net neutrality is really broken, so don't take my predictions of the future, or anyone else's, for granted. I just made this post to show a different way the bad route can take.

i’m tired of crazy gfs. this time, there’s this girl who added me on league, twitch, discord, insta because she’s jealous of me but i just play with the guy she likes, i don’t even use voice, i don’t have him on whatsapp or anything else except spotify. and she keeps messaging me like “you know you like same music as him?”, “have you ever watch movies with him?” “have you ever made a video call with him?””do you have his snapchat” and i keep replying no no no no no NO to everything except the question about the music taste. she pretends to be my friend but she just wnats to ask me questions about her “almost bf”. i explained to her why she shouldn’t care about me, but she’s not stopping. i’m really fed up with this already. i.dont.give.a.fkin.shit.about.him :DDDDD WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND FFS i even gave her good reasons. some people are jsut the human version of headache.

should i just block both of them? at least there won’t be any more jealousy ? and she won’t annoy me anymore.. idk.
