i love this scene so bad, kirino walks up to this nobleman with no fear, tells him like it is and when kinako sees it she jumps in to support him, letting him do the main talking and have his moment while she gets to taunt the guy (and use her upperclassman as a shield skshfhfkjs). her support of kirino during this arc was SO sweet. she liked jeanne too, she connected with her as well but she saw that as much as she wanted to miximax with her, it was not something she needed. but kirino did, so she selflessly decided to help him achieve that :( screaming crying throwing up

What do I mean by representation? Well, what it means, and also that they have a ton of similarities. I don't think Tadashi's soul is in BM (tho I lowkey fw the "if you work hard on something, a piece of your soul will be in it" from HxH and I believe I see it irl but Hiro made the new version 💀), but hell he might as be, shit.

Tadashi literally made BM's blueprints med chip (the chip literally allowed Hiro to make BM exactly to how Tadashi made him)

Boueibu movie spoilers below

I went to watch the movie! 7 times so far

Some of my thoughts (without giving out any concrete story spoilers):

The movie really felt fitting for a 10th anniversary. Even though they're all grown up it feels like they haven't changed a single bit

Aye Aye is really cute and the more I watch the cuter he gets

Akoya is without a doubt the MVP of the movie

He wears a fur shawl when he leaves his shop and it's very cute

Atsushi deserves to get sent to jail or at least sacked from his job

The EnAtsu towel scene is really funny

I pity Kinchan for having to put up with the Boueibu's antics back in the day...

VEPPer finally get their more better transformation!!

hello!! this is a super random question and you don’t have to answer but how do you keep such a good track of the daredevil show timeline?? all of your fics are so coherent and seem to follow it amazingly well so i’m just wondering if you have any tips for that like it’s so noticeable how well you know the show when i reread trt and i really admire that :p

THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY TO READ CAUSE THE DD TIMELINE IS INSANE, SO THANK YOU. I've spent more than one night tearing my hair out over it and that appears to have paid off! 😂

So I have two things I did in order to really track the Daredevil timeline.

1. In order to reference larger Marvel events along with other Defenders events, I use this timeline by gamesradar which has both the movies and the Defenders shows on a year by year timeline. This gave me a rough idea of gaps between seasons along with when other characters might pop up.

But more importantly,

2. I created my own Daredevil timeline that goes episode by episode. I did this by going through a series rewatch focused specifically on the timeline itself. Every time day shifted into night, I noted it. Matt waking up? That's a new day. Indicator via dialogue that it's been 2 days? Add that gap. Season reference like Ben mentioning in late S1 that it's getting colder (thus a sign that S1 takes place from at least early summer to fall)? That's written down. With this I could roughly track not only how much time passes in each episode, but I also was able to have a general idea of how long the individual seasons last. Doing this allowed me to weave my own plotline in and out of canon and construct a concurrent TRT events timeline in a way that feels like it fits! I even added some sections on Matt's injuries so I could track not just when he's hurt but his heal times. This is in addition to a quicknotes sort of guide I made for each episode so I could quickly double check my references without necessarily having to boot up Dis+. Obviously some canon gets changed in TRT but when I do change things, I make sure the goal of those canon scenes are still met, whether that's clues or foreshadowing.

Now granted, some parts of the canon timeline I quickly discovered are batshit. S2 is supposed to take place in the course of about 2 weeks, for example, which is WAY too fast for that big of a trial, and Matt's healing period in S3 is hilariously short. Those are moments I chose to take a crowbar to and stretch out a bit (in TRT, jury selection for Frank's trial, for example, no longer takes 2 days; now it takes a week, and the trial itself will be a bit longer than in canon), but because I had my timeline of events, I knew there was a long gap after Elektra's death (summer, roughly) and the little bit at the end of S2 where he goes to meet Karen with his mask (I think it's early winter, if I remember my timeline correctly). So that's kinda how I know where I can fiddle with the timeline while still ensuring it all flows coherently and doesn't ram into anything!

i know some people are absolutely incensed that Arcane dropped the ball on the classism and discrimination and poverty and all those plotlines they had introduced but the truth of the matter is that Arcane always framed any type of Zaunite insurrection/revolution against Piltover in bad lighting and claimed that any fight/war for the freedom and wellbeing of future generations is ultimately evil because it gets people living right now killed

Vander is the most sympathetic Undercity leader/hot shot only because he is supporting Piltover's superiority and oppression of the Undercity. he has a deal with the cops to ensure that he will keep his people obedient and subservient to Piltover and the cops. he aids the status quo and thus Piltover's exploitation of Zaun; he never encourages pushing for change in any manner, violent or non-violent, instead always pressuring those around him (esp Vi) to just take Piltover's scraps and mistreatment because you wouldnt want to lose your loved ones, would you? (which is just like, a threat. an actual threat that figures of authority like cops make to their victims to keep them inline) Completely ignoring the fact that people in Zaun HAVE, ARE, and WILL BE losing loved ones to police brutality, disease, toxic/radioactive exposure, famine, poverty, gang violence, etc. BECAUSE OF PILTOVER.

Arcane is/(started out as) a great show but it was always most sympathetic towards Piltover and the status quo. it never pushed for Zaun's independence/freedom in any meaningful way--and whenever it did deal with Zaun potentially becoming its own nation? it didn't show the power of revolutions, of class actions, of uniting and protesting and fighting back--it just said that if you sit your ass down tight and let the oppressive government shit on you enough, you might eventually be granted some rights--unless you fuck it up with a rocket, of course. but that's not how real life has ever worked

not only that but any attempt at fighting back is literally shown as being plain violence for violence's sake. we dont see or hear anything about how silco or vander planned on rebuilding the Undercity/Zaun, how they wanted to expand infrastructure, how they would support the people and keep them safe--Arcane doesnt paint revolutions as the complex operations they are, they just show us the violence of them and nothing else. like really, all Silco wants to do is use Shimmer to scare topside--but that's not how revolutions or fighting against opressors works! because Piltover will be scared, yes, but that just means they will double down harder on all the violence and restrictions. that's obvious. not only that, but lets say Piltover gets scared and retracts from Zaun completely--Zaun seems to be heavily dependent on trade from Piltover to get what they need to survive. Silco doesnt mention anything about how to fix that. and that to me just plays on harmful stereotypes about any and all kinds of social movements. all of the real work is reduced to violence.

Rewatching the pilot and was thinking about how things maybe wouldve gone if snowing hadn't given Emma up like if they had held onto her during the curse instead of putting her in the wardrobe. Like maybe because she was written into the curse it doesn't effect her like everyone else so she still ages and time does pass for her but no one knows who she really is, maybe she is found or "left" at the hospital or an orphanage or with cursed "foster/adoptive" parents and still grows up believing her real parents gave her up but as she gets older she realizes no one else does. She is the only one changing grades at school she's the only one of her peers to have birthdays and how the same subjects are being taught over and over or the same news stories are on the tv and she is starting to feel crazy and alone but she does feel close to her teacher who gives her a book to help her feel connected to the world but it's fairytales and those are for babies not for her and maybe one day on a class trip to the hospital she sees John Doe and finds that it's really easy to talk to him since he can't really hear her anyway and maybe one day when she is a teenager the really nice but kinda strange ice cream shop owner pulls Emma aside and starts telling her all these crazy things like that not only is magic real but Emma has magic and is going to break a curse and that's just too much for Emma on top of everything else so she runs away and just keeps running. Soon she is 16 and decides to steal this cool yellow car but whoops there's this guy in the backseat and he's kinda cute and older and did just save her from being arrested so yea she will hang around with him for a bit but then she is being arrested and is pregnant and she can't do this she can't be a mother she never had one she wouldn't even know how and she's only 17 how is she going to raise a kid so she puts him up for adoption and fast forward 10 years and that kid is knocking on her door and it's only right to give him a ride home only this road is looking pretty familiar... and suddenly she is back in the town that never changed only her kid is here now and he is talking about a lot of the stuff that she faced as a kid and how can any of this be possible she is 28 years old now but no one here has aged a day but things are starting to change like that old clock is moving again and John Doe woke up and the Sheriff who always caught her when she would cause trouble as a kid has accepted her as a deputy and maybe putting some roots down wouldn't be the worst thing and maybe one day she goes to visit Ingrid but Ingrid doesn't care about the curse now that Emma is older Ingrid just wants her to come back to Arendelle with her but Emma can't leave Henry even though staying is causing problems with the mayor who Emma always got strange vibes from as a kid and avoided as much as possible and how did she end up adopting Henry anyways and now they are basically in a war with each other over him but maybe it'll be ok because they are going to make a truce for Henry and wasn't it nice of Regina to give Emma that apple tart but then Henry ate it and he's dying and to save him Emma needs to accept magic and curses and it turns out she wasn't crazy or alone her family was there all along even when they didn't know it her mother gave Emma her own stories to comfort her, her father was a steady presence she could share all her troubles to and Granny always made the best hot chocolates when Emma was feeling sad and lonely and maybe just maybe this means things will start being good for her. Maybe now she can also find her happy ending and her true love just like Mary Margaret and David
