College (uni??) AU catering to my own interests as it should always be hehe :)

#projecting my major on Vash because them mfs who have changed from the med field majors to that one have some tragic things to tell #and also because I think that Vash would be such a wonderful designer I don’t know why it’s a gut feeling #Nai the law major because of course he would have you seen the guy #he would be a personal injury lawyer because lore #fun fact Nai rested for a semester after the incident with Vash while Vash took two.He never told Nai he would be changing majors #so it was a big big shock for him. they fought again but yk I’ll explain more on that if anyone is interested #as to Kni and WW I thought it’d be funny if they shared a common subject that required a lot of team assignments #and they can NEVER work out together. being an absolute nightmare to the rest of their group #separately they are great to work with. even if Kni can come off as too bossy sometimes he is actually a great leader #and WW would always deliver things on time exactly as it was asked from him #but Kni and WW just never really matched. Kni was too rude at times when WW made a mistake and WW would always clock him if he passed a line #like insulting his reasons for wanting to study security #one day Kni tells him at the beginning of a new semester where they both have unfortunately landed on a shared subject again #“you are not suited for that sort of job Wolfwood. you should simply give up and why don’t you go play role model to your little kids’’#then WW beats him again and then is like hey yk what you’re kinda right. and changed majors and he feels so much more at home studying #education/teaching than security. he fucking hates some things but the end goal makes it worthy #Trigun Uni! Ahhh thank you so much! I haven't done a rewatch in ages so my takes are far from fresh but to my memory that scene it's an absolute banger featuring Wei Wuxian downplaying his injuries until the last possible moment, classic JFM-WWX-JC dynamics, and Jiang shidis loving their da-shixiong while doomed (JC is not alone for once! one of many loving and doomed shidis!). OK I got nostalgic and went for a brief rewatch and Wei Wuxian looks so so happy and relieved to be home, to the point he's almost crying with it! No! I love that Yanli gets a chance to delight in the homecoming alongside JFM, and it's her and Jiang Cheng holding Wei Wuxian up when he faints. It's also preceded by a rare moment where we get to see a sect leader being a teacher, which I really appreciated because they do so much scheming and going to war throughout the series but that doesn't seem to be their usual means of occupying themselves, and it's nice that JFM seems to be a good teacher and his disciples are comfortable with and enjoy learning from him. I was successfully manipulated into grief and horror at Youngest Shidi's fate, and I really like that CQL takes time, even if it's not very much time, to focus on Jiang children and remind the viewer that the Jiang sect is a living, growing community. Thank you for reminding me that every day is a good day to get back in my CQL feels.

#also the youtube situation makes it way harder to take screenshots if like me you're lazy and didn't dl a copy #I should have! Fallout 4 companions as which Don't Starve Together character they'd main:

Cait: Wolfgang, and eats all the food so she can stay permanently mighty. I would say Wigfrid but she's too much of a team player, Cait's gonna run off and die unprepared and then whine if she doesn't get revived immediately

Curie: Webber. Cute little spider boy who can befriend spiders and make them friends with the team!! What's not to love?? Also enjoys being helpful to the team by getting a ton of silk and eating all the extra monster meat.

Codsworth: Warly 100%. He takes the work the others are too lazy to do and stays at camp the entire time. Probably has an list of every single crockpot recipe beside him while he plays.

Danse: Wilson. He doesn't get the point of picking a character with disadvantages and thinks having to jump through hoops to manage character-specific issues is ridiculous. He'll never play as anyone other than Wilson.

Deacon: Wes would be too obvious so I'm going with Winona. Doesn't go to base ever, people don't even know he exists, but whenever the team goes to fight a boss he already has a complex cheese setup with catapults and meatbulbs or something. Minmaxes everything.

Gage: Willow. Burns down the chests when his sanity gets low and gets banned immediately.

Hancock: Probably Wortox??? He wants to be a little freak of some sort, that's for sure. Completely abuses his teleports out of laziness and never actually uses his souls responsibly.

Longfellow: Chooses Wickerbottom, dies to Charlie on the first night, then turns off DST and plays Shipwrecked instead. Picks Woodlegs. Still dies on the first night.

Maccready: If not Wolfgang, he probably hears X6 talk about meta strategies and plays as Wanda! Finds it very entertaining that an old lady is one of the strongest characters, and not having a health meter makes him feel much stronger than he really is.

Nick Valentine: Picks Woodie randomly at the character select screen without reading his description, gets pretty attached to Lucy and the easy wood supply. You can imagine his shock on the first full moon.

Piper: Refuses to pick a main for the longest time and goes down the entire list every time she dies, until she reaches Walter. She just CANNOT part with Woby, no matter how much she sucks at playing as him.

Preston: Wendy! He needs Abigail to help him with fights, I doubt he's very good at games. Definitely says he's going on a quick supply run then gets sidetracked by helping pipspooks. He can't just IGNORE them!!

X6-88: W8-78 would be the expected one (same naming scheme!) but I doubt X6 would enjoy having to run around and scan rabbits with Jimmy. He'd probably pick some minmaxer like Wanda or Wolfgang and ruins rush day 1 or whatever. He totally follows an online guide and ragequits when he realizes picking a "meta" character =/= automatic win.

If Ulysses has a million haters, then I'm one of them. If Ulysses has one hater, then I'm THAT ONE. If Ulysses has no haters, that means I'm dead. If the world is with Ulysses than I’m against the world.

#this is slightly joking but like also not but also like am mixed on Ulysses on many factors #infuriating because i sympathize with his pain but it’s like #he is a well written and fundamentally flawed character whose hypocrisy I found doubly in #black characters I can tell were designed by white people with a semblance of an understanding of activism and bipoc oppression #but not enough for the character to not feel like hand holding for the majority white audience #plus personal grips with the whole twisted hairs thing and reference to slave braiding patterns #Ulysses irks me as a black person on a weird personal level and I can go into debt on why him being black is a big detractor for him to me #like he continues this cycle of distancing himself from his roots before remembering over and over again through his actions #he leave so much in his wake that the courier ends up correcting or helping like in honest hearts and old world blues because he’s self #righteous in a subtle way even to himself that he believes he stand out of his one man rule when he does not play an active hand #saw a post talk about how you choose to continue moving through his story and can leave at any moment and this it is partially your fault #but what of the oath that is set before you and is forced to take that he set up #I do not have to walk it but when I do the steps are not my own but those taken for me #you have to go out of your way to change it which is not something he expects because he’s playing by a story he’s been perpetuating in his #head about you two and the effect one man has when he’s continually been that one man more so than you as many of his actions directly lead #to the one you go through also the irony in the flag he continues to bear being the real reason he has no home #like he reps it when the package is likely enclave and thus use the same symbol #also still can’t get over how anyone could have delivered the package and he tries so hard to act like it was the couriers destiny or fate #when this was the one case of chance and that once man was likely a enclave engineer and how it’s really is never one man #it the process and he’s so annoying about it like he’s a cool character but if you don’t believe in his philosophy or already went through #these ideas cause they are very common talking points in poc especially BIPOC spaces he’s just old hashings and stunted #fallout #fallout new vegas #Ulysses you upset me but I’m like I feel you could be better if you weren’t so incessant #I don’t think I ever want to make a serious post stating this about him just because I’d start yapping and it’d never get finished #ulysses fnv #fnv ulysses #lonesome road

rewatched joseph anderson's edith finch essay the other night and got critically mind-melted from some of the comments expressing their confusion over very basic "blue curtains = depression" type analysis made by others. idk if maybe that comment section is overridden w children or ppl who simply never paid attention in english class but i could not help but feel despair while reading

#i'm gonna do a spoilers in these tags so if u care go play edith finch or wtv i'm not ur dad #anyway. especially when anderson goes on to explicitly spell out that edie is a neglectful parent and/or opportunistic death monger #in her own family. . . . . let me take for example:#one of her sons decides to liberate himself from his own trauma-wrought agoraphobia by mining a tunnel instead of using the door right #he chooses the physically harder way bcus the psychologically harder way (going upstairs and confronting his crazy mother)#would be worse for him #and he writes 'monster on the other side of the door' or wtv in his own journal from his perspective right #and someone thought that meant his mother thought HE was monstrous and i'm like ????????#and then someone said that 'every finch is buried somewhere in the library' takes on a darker meaning now #and there were ppl confused abt the metaphor the commenter pointed out #context: every literate finch is a prolific diarist they write like no tomorrow #edie is obsessed w their deaths and keeping records and basically making a finch death museum/shrine out of their home #is the metaphor truly that hard to parse ?? this feels like eng101 to me where am i #and i dont wanna be mean and i would never reply to comments like this but #my god these ppl are stupid !!
