So I've been pondering on how the Darcy-Bingley friendship came to be for a while, and like most people, I imagine that it was Bingley driven. I have now decided that when Bingley met Darcy - haughty, moody, catty man - he either unconsciously or explicitly reminded him of Caroline. "I must befriend him, he feels like home".

okay so now that i’ve officially finished watching leverage i just want to say that maybe i’m obsessed with this show on multiple levels and something about how it hits so many itches in that it’s about found family and it’s about fucking over bad, rich guys (no billionaire bootlicking in this show! and i fucking love it) and it’s also about how sometimes the bad guys are the only good guys you get and it’s also about how we are all stronger together it’s about how at the start of this show, we have all of these characters who are largely used to working alone and being alone and yet the show concludes that ultimately, we are better when we are together and by being together, we might be able to leave something behind that is bigger and brighter for the next people in our generation and no man is an island and no person is meant to beat goliath on their own or whatever

i love interviews about their songs so much, but this one in particular because whenever roland brings up his wife Caroline you can see curt shift, ever so slightly, in every interview ive seen, closer to roland, and just give him that silent support.

and in the beginning, curt knows they're getting into hard territory for roland, so he cracks that quick joke. "dont ask me" and laughs. and roland tries to laugh, but doesnt manage to, but you can see the gratefulness in his eyes

Uh??? Ok aside from the bizarre unnecessarily confrontational tone here, Kendall was charging in trying to strongarm Roman into voting with him when he was in a vulnerable state and clearly didn't want to do all this or be around him right now, and it also probably stirred up unpleasant memories for Caroline as well of how Logan used to act around the house. Makes sense though that an asshole wouldn't recognize when an asshole is being an asshole perhaps 🤷

i love the headcannon that both tim and cass look scarily alike, to the point they could be twins.

like they both share the same general lithe build, they’re the same short height, cass has a short bob while tim has his baby mullet, their training is similar due to their backgrounds with lady shiva and the loa, and (depending on your headcanon) both waisan- so i can definitely see instances where they’re confused for each other or where they mess with everyone around them.

I actually don't fully vibe with my point here anymore. I think there's definitely an element of this going on, and it was never supposed to be a full explanation of his whole "thing", but it still feels a little too simplistic and overcooked. Post cancelled.

I feel like a really crucial scene for unpacking Roman's whole "oedipal" thing is the bit in Prague where he sees Tabitha, because one of the first things he says is "dad would go fucking nuts for her." He is constantly using "well it's what dad would do" as an explanation for his actions, and I genuinely think the jokes about wanting to fuck Marcia/Caroline are less about his mommy issues and any actual attraction to maternal figures and more about "well these are the women dad's into, so they must be the right women to be attracted to." It's like a defense mechanism--Logan can't think there's something "wrong" with his sexuality if they're attracted to the same people. It's what he would do.

Except this is obviously flawed logic that only makes him seem more "wrong," because "if dad does it then he must think it's okay to do and he won't get mad at me for it" isn't even the mostly-coherent reasoning of an adult choosing a partner their parents approve of, its the logic of a kid trying not to get hit.

yes, there are absolutely some kdrama tropes that i would like to leave in the past, but also. when some kdramas still have that genuine kdrama flair that remind me of kdramas from my childhood (but in a good way) . . . giggling and kicking my feet! i don't care if some tropes are corny and cheesy, i'm still relieved to find the sillier kdrama tropes alive and well
