Iirc tho, Starscream doesn't remain on earth with the twins. He (i think? I have so many AUs sometimes lines get crossed lol) uses the younglings as leverage to get himself back into the decepticons and claims sanctuary as a parent with dependent children: the warframes are critically endangered, after all, and as much as Megatron hates him, ensuring any decepticon children grow up healthy and safe will always take priority.

The twins definitely go through an adjustment period after they move into their undisclosed colony home with their carrier. They've been living weapons pretty much since the day they were born, so having free time and the opportunity to play and go to school is a completely new experience for them. Living amongst decepticons is a lot more pleasant than they ever thought possible: aside from the propaganda they've been fed making them antsy, they're also very used to getting sideways looks and snarky comments on account of them being blended frames. They're expecting the same from the cons, honestly, except instead of getting flack for their flight capability and not having blue optics, they expect to be looked down on for being half civilian, for not being proper seekers

It's such a nice surprise when nobody cares. No one even mentions it, no one bats an optic. Imagine their delight when they find out that they aren't the only bi-frame people there! All of the decepticons they've seen during active combat are huge towering warframes, but that's just it. They've only seen them during active combat, and of course the ones fighting on the front lines are the their biggest and best warriors. Cross-frametype bondings are by no means unheard of, and there are plenty of Cybertron-descended planets that aren't involved with the war at all and happily mingle with either side. There are plenty of younglings their age that are "halfas" too, and the twins are readily welcomed into their folds. They make lots of friends and actually come to really enjoy school: they're extremely curious and playful by nature, so an educational center where they can absorb all sorts of information and socialize to their sparks' content is everything they could ask for!

an update

I think this was a post long coming, and I just want to say right off the bat that it's nothing bad, just some life updates I wanted to share with y'all 💕

These past weeks have been tiring, we had overnights for inventory for about two weeks which left me pretty tired and exhausted to do anything else, I also had regular shifts in between which drained the remaining energy I had left.

I still don't have my license (I do have my permit tho!) because I have to buy additional classes but I'm planing on buying them this week so I can get my license as soon as possible.

I have an official-ish move date! thank you to everyone who donated to my kofi and helped me out. I'll be moving in July 9th with a friend from work which is exciting and at the same time slightly nerve wrecking???? I don't know what I'm feeling to be honest, I think I've just been feeling kinda homesick and lost. Even though I always preferred living on my own, I still had the chance to visit my family whenever and I don't really have that chance here-- I mean sure if there's an emergency I can fly over but I can't really just get on a bus and visit them which makes me even more anxious.

BUT I have been happy and will be happier as soon as I move out and get my freedom again (my aunts have placed cameras in the house which I'm hoping they'll remove soon and they only had them because of the trip they went to but it's been four days and the cameras are still there....)

I'm hoping to get back into writing again, I have commissions I'm working on so most free time I have goes to that but believe me when I say I miss writing for myself and you guys SO MUCH. I miss spending time on other hobbies as well and it's been hard getting my groove back but I am trying.

I miss tumblr and you guys and I am so so sorry if it looks like I've been ignoring tags or messages. It's just I'm mentally drained and most of the time wait for a moment I'm not to answer which sometimes take a while.

Okay, so, this is just random but I've been obsessing over jihoon recently, been losing my mind and desperately trying to look for fics admiring the man that he is but I can't find many, and so I'm genuinely really excited for your where you're convenient jihoon fic and also more jihoon scenes in camp seventeen because, I need to simp over my man. Also, please let me know if you know any good fics that would drive me crazy for jihoon, and well, just worship him. I love that man.

Also, I totally agree with tumblr user todayiscloudyday when they said that the houses were so well described. The character descriptions were literally so good that I read both the prologue and the character descriptions multiple times before the 1st chapter came out. The houses, their companions, the symbols, their jobs, I have to say, you've really done such an amazing job with them.

Anyway, I just came around to rant about my woozi brainrot and also to let you know that I am genuinely excited for your upcoming fics. I also want to let you know that you don't always have to answer my asks (considering you probably receive many and could be busy), I just send them in so you know that I appreciate your works.

ok heres that rv post i was saying i should make because im avoiding the thing im writing about them for today and dont want to think about it. this is stream of consciousness writing so its long and annoying. i like to yap. sue me. The non-exhaustive list of things about rv that's been driving me like pepe silvia levels of delusional the past few days (weeks):

1) the xfiles thing that everyone has taken to basically be a Whole Thing about rv and that mulder and scully are THE "will they wont they" (this is reaching ill give you that)

2) warren and gordon literally run away together, and acknowledge having done that

3) the last of what little there is before The Whole Red Valley Thing is devoted to them going on a tiny roadtrip in which they are running away together and that roadtrips are -- like running away together -- *also* a romcom setup trope and you can deny me this all you want but clive DOES reinforce that they went on a roadtrip by referring to a roadtrip movie

4) the buried like lovers thing

5) the similarity with which warren going back into hypersleep (its own kind of death) upon gordon getting shot kiiiiiinnddddd offff resembles the whole romeo and juliet thing. Does It Not?

6) gordon is canonically gay and his Choice of Favorite Nerd Media is lotr. that "will they wont they" thing? um. how many decades have people been discussing frodo and sam's relationship

7) one character reacting negatively to the other mentioning a friend they have offscreen the first character has never met is also a romcom trope

8) gordon literally gets teased about having a brokeback mountain moment with warren in the first season

9) can i mention the part where bryony is baaaaaasically warrens Total Recall Wife and gordon is his Total Recall Freedom Fighter? Please? Can I Talk About That?

Kazui's body remembered the sunrise. His mind wouldn't have thought much of it, stuck in a place like this, but his body pulled him from sleep at the same time each morning as if he were still in the habit and standing on the balcony watching the sun with his morning coffee.

He couldn't quite replicate the experience, though not for lack of trying. He'd dress, pick up whatever drink he could grab from the dining hall before it officially opened for breakfast, then move to the common room to sit and enjoy the morning in solitude. Even Kotoko, the next earliest riser, wouldn't make an appearance for an hour or so.

Which is why he nearly spit out the orange juice he'd swiped when Fuuta strolled in just after him and sat himself down directly next to him. It looked like his little silent retreat was out of the question for the day.

"Can I sit here?" Fuuta said, already taking a seat. He rubbed his good eye groggily.

"Uh, sure! I'd love the company." Kazui nodded to him, trying to hide the surprise in his face. He must have failed. Or maybe Fuuta would have leapt to defend himself regardless.

"I couldn't sleep, okay? I hear you come out here at the ass crack of dawn every day, I just wanted to see what you were up to."

Kazui gestured a hand across the empty room with a dry smile. "Just this, sorry to disappoint."

It was easiest to leave it at that. He wasn't sure how to articulate the reason early mornings were so sacred to him -- the peace and the solitude and the ability to be himself without a single expectation put on him. He could take some time to prepare himself for the day ahead without putting up any airs for anyone. It probably would've sounded pathetic to a kid like him, anyways. He was always so full of energy, Kazui doubted he'd need more than a minute to get himself ready for his day.

Fuuta sank deeper into his hoodie. "Hmph."

The two fell silent. Kazui grew antsy as he sipped his drink. At first it had been nice, sitting in something reminiscent of his old fishing trips. But he didn't think Fuuta appreciated the quiet the same way. Was he looking to talk? Was he waiting for more from him? Kazui had never wanted kids -- not like Hinako had dreamed of them -- so he didn't know the first thing about starting a conversation with someone his age.

As he scrambled for something to say, Fuuta whispered. "It's nice."

"Hm?"

"This. No prying eyes, nobody trying to start shit."

Kazui didn't mention that Fuuta was usually the one starting shit.

"I hope I didn't interrupt."

"Not at all! I'm glad you think it's peaceful too."

"Yeah... I do."

This time when neither of them spoke, there was no anticipation in it. Kazui breathed deep. His thoughts were allowed to drift freely. His mind felt at ease. He closed his eyes. Though there was no need to, he found himself opening his mouth.

"You know, I didn't realize how much I'd miss the sunrise."

Fuuta shifted. "Eh, I never saw it. I usually slept pretty late." He added, "I'm sorry you miss it, though."

"Thanks. I just hope I'll see it again..."

He wondered if the thought was too suddenly sentimental, but Fuuta nodded gravely. "I hope so too."

By the time prisoners started trickling into the common area, Kazui was calm and ready to begin his day. Fuuta stood to leave.

"Thanks for letting me hang out," he said.

"Heh, I should be thanking you. I didn't expect anyone to stick around for a boring old man like me."

Fuuta's expression twisted up. There was the energy Kazui had been expecting. "Jeez, you keep thinking you're so special! You're just like everyone else, you hear? You're not some boring old man no one likes. There's a lot of people just like you. A lot of us are just like you."

Kazui sat for one more moment after he left. He took the final sip of his drink.

A lot of them just like him? Now, that was a nice thought.
