Which actually went off decently smoothly – once Alice’s Fury was under control, I had her change back to normal and get settled at the picnic table, setting out her and Victor’s bowls of chili. I then grabbed Smiler’s plasma fruit from the basket and gave it to them to drink…

In the process learning that, whoops, I accidentally put away ALL THEIR OTHER PLASMA FRUITS while I was clearing out their inventory. O.o Good thing I packed one for them! (And that they had a spare frog plasma pack to drink too.) I had everybody eat together, then had Smiler entertain Victor and Alice by singing about SimCity Founding before everyone began throwing confetti and spinning noisemakers and stuff. Gotta get that party spirit up, after all! :D Once everyone was finished eating, Smiler then proposed a toast, and everyone had a drink before they started telling an outrageous story. A story that I took a short video of, which you may remember from this particular post: What Smiler Sounds Like! It felt like the perfect opportunity to get that footage. :) Anyway, the story ended with the trio glitching out and resetting slightly (which also got rid of everyone’s drinks – I guess that saved me having to clean them up later), so I ended the video, took a picture of a random Sim on a horse just because, and prepared for the next Required SimCity Founding Outing Activity –

-->Taking pictures! Because you know me and the in-game tripod – we’re best buddies now. XD I found a nice scenic spot relatively nearby, with lots of pretty flowers and trees and some great views of the various mesas and whatnot in the distance, then had the trio go over there before I turned off autonomy, had Alice set up her tripod and camera, and had them do a photoshoot together. Because I have learned these little fuckers will NOT cooperate for a photoshoot unless you turn their free will off. XD It turned out very nice, though, with the trio taking a variety of fun shots in their swimwear against the lovely backdrop of the desert. :) Something new for the wall, or at least the Moschino Stuff changeable photo frame! XD

-->With the Obligatory Photoshoot done, I turned everybody’s free will back on, then sent them all down to the swimming spot again. Victor went for another little swim to FINALLY fulfill the “Water Fun” tradition; Alice did a little scavenging before Victor came out of the water to chat and flirt with her (didn’t turn up anything, sadly); and Smiler found one Giovanna nearby (who’d recently come to the store) and introduced themselves, instantly making her their friend. XD They had a nice chat, with Smiler learning that Giovanna loves the outdoors – and apparently outrageous stories, as she seemed to enjoy the one they told her. XD They then got a drink off her before she headed off (om nom fresh plasma) –

I really like this picture of mipha specifically!! I feel like the emotion is shown really well and even tho there are a lot of things I can't do with her to make crying more realistic (nose to go red and run, ect) I think I've shown it as best as I can ^^ I also love the way her top showed up and am proud of the little star <3

I really like this sketch. My first miphlink kiss I've drawn :D the hands look better than usual and I like the green/pink gradient. I like the looseness of the lines, too. I was really just having fun with it and not putting too much pressure on myself

Mipha dropped her bag onto the table with a thud. Her hands trembled on the sink as she poured herself a glass of water. She bit her lip hard, choking down a sob as she lifted the glass to her lips. She wiped her mouth, her hand coming back red with a spot of blood, mixed with lipstick. Her eyes burned with tears and she let them fall, shoulders shaking with each quiet cry. Oh, she’d messed everything up, she’d let everything fall apart and now everyone was in danger.

In the dim light of the empty safehouse it was hard to see. The window above the sink stared out at a concrete wall, a cruel mockery of what she could be looking at instead. Even from deep underground she could hear the hail thundering onto them, a constant pitter-patter with the occasional thud as a particularly large ball of ice fell.

She faintly heard the door upstairs open, multiple pairs of footsteps coming down the stairs until Gaddison, Bazz and Rivan burst into the kitchen, rosy cheeked and smiling fin-to-fin. They chatted amongst each other for less than a minute, before seeming to realise Mipha was standing at the sink and turning to her.

“Oh, Mipha. Hey.” A gentler smile curved Bazz's lips, and he picked the bandage on his cheek. Her heart rate picked up. He was, like Gaddison and Rivan, absolutely covered in bandages. A thick one was wrapped around his bicep, a blood soaked gauze was taped on Gaddison's knee, and Rivan was covered in small, shark patterned band-aids. 

“What…” She gulped, reaching backwards to steady herself on the kitchen bench. She was used to the sight of blood, but that, coupled with her exhaustion and the way they had messily covered their wounds sent a wave of light headedness to her head. “What happened…?”

Veilguard: Ranna's Rook intros!

Waaaay back in November, I might have posted a time or two about my first Rook? Since then I've been a bit distracted from Tumblr by, uh, playing three more of them. XD I just started the fifth playthrough so I'd better pop in and show some Rooks off before I get too far into this one and forget how to blog again!

Possibly mild spoilers to follow along with pretty pictures and very brief summaries beneath the cut...

Caeda Mercar, Shadow Dragon rogue who romanced Lucanis (alas, yes, she saved Treviso at the expense of her home Minrathous! worth it. She did also flirt a bit with Davrin early on when Lucanis was still being shy about it, but basically I started the game thinking I'd probably romance Emmrich and then Lucanis spited right out of that Ossuary cell and through a gaggle of Venatori in five seconds flat and Caeda went all heart eyes and set her cap for him irrevocably.) Started out more of an archer rogue (usually one of my favorite DA playstyles) but halfway through she started leaning more toward daggers. We'll assume that was her favorite Crow's influence. (Or that Ranna was figuring out how to play XD)

After Caeda I jumped straight back into CC to make...

Veryl Ingellvar, Mourn Watch mage who romanced Emmrich. Whereas Caeda had the first-playthrough honor of just picking whatever dialogue options I felt like at the time, so she had a pretty broadly mixed personality, this one specialized in what, in ages past, we would've called Blue Hawke personality. :-D Very golden-retriever, Miss Positivity, etc. (She reminded me of Violet Itzli sometimes. :-D) I thought she'd be a staff mage but then I fell in love with orb & dagger so she did a lot of that too, though not as much as the yet to come 4th playthrough would...

Next up we have:

Akish Thorne, Grey Warden Warrior who started out sword & board (throwing shields is fun!) and switched to mostly two-hander (when I realized you can still throw the shield even when you're not apparently holding one!). He romanced Bellara (who reminded me of Yolotli Itzli from the moment I met her :-D ...Akish is not exactly Anselm though), and if Veryl was a Blue Hawke Rook, Akish was mostly Red Hawke, except for being a big softie whenever it came to Bel. (Also, for his endgame I played through once with Neve doing the wards on Tearstone and then again with Bellara and...I like that second one better. Oh the narrative parallels between him being a blighted Warden and then seeing Bellara get blighted but survive it too! Also I like Bel better for that part of endgame in general; it's a bit of character development - her moving from seeming more of an innocent to someone who has survived something pretty massive and draws strength from it to save the day in the end! - that she just needs more than Neve does.)

Other than Bellara, Akish's favorite thing in the world is griffons. :-D Also his eyes are supposedly violet though the screenshots make it hard to tell.

I had plans to play an Adaar Inquisitor in DAI but never got around to that playthrough before burnout hit so Akish is my first Qunari OC and I had such fun with him!

Next up: I just finished playing Rook Number Four:

Arucari "Rook" De Riva. Yes, Rook is short for Arucari. :-D She romanced Lucanis because, um, it appears that he is my Daeran for this game (i.e. I played WOTR 7 times through one summer and romanced Daeran for three of them. Guess I've got at least one more Lucanis romance to go this time around. XD) She is a mage because I missed playing as a spellblade, and a Crow because it is technically the Crow Spellblade specialization, and because I wanted to see how romancing Lucanis with another Crow went. (Conclusion: It went spectacularly! She was such fun.) She was my Purple Hawke girl, always teasing and deflecting with humor anytime things are awkward, but also generally positive beneath that. Also she got extra-large eyes in homage to DA2 elves. :-D Here is a better view of them:

She is an excellent Crow. No one ever expects assassination from anything this cute.

And last but not least...

Linza Laidir is my 5th playthrough, just barely begun! Go Team Dwarf. :-D (Team Dwarven Rogues, to be specific! We gained a Neve just after this screenshot and dear Neve has never looked so tall, being surrounded by Children of the Stone.) Don't know yet if she will be more of an archer rogue or a daggers rogue, whichever lends itself more to Gold and Glory, of course! Not sure yet about her personality (probably swinging between Blue and Red Hawke types? She did beat up everyone in the bar to get Neve Gallus' location, whereas most of my Rooks have talked the bartender down. But I think despite a knack for highly effective violence she's also a sweet little Team Mom who will be teaming up with Lucanis and Bellara for the cooking. And probably romancing Davrin. (Was I inspired by Antoine & Evka's elf/dwarf dynamic? No comment.)

So clearly I'm enjoying Veilguard overall, and from the factions & romances I've played so far, I rank them as follows:

Laurie Strode and Annie Brackett Evidence

Seeing as how I'm hyperfocusing on Halloween right now and no-one else online ships this (especially 1978 Laurnie) except for me and a handful of other people (shout out to this amazing edit on tiktok) I thought I'd give my pitch for it here.

First of all since I know a lot of you don't care about "canon evidence" and like ships more for the vibes I'll go over their dynamic for anyone who's uninitiated or hasn't seen Halloween in a while.

Laurie Strode in 1978 is a shy, sweet, probably autistic but that's a post for another day, 17-year-old girl. She likes babysitting, reading, knitting, and hanging out with her friends. She spends most of her time babysitting because she can never find a date (and apparently teenage girls in the 70s had no other hobbies XD).

Annie Brackett is one of Laurie's two best friends. She lives a few houses down from Laurie and they seem to spend a lot of time together. Annie is snarky, sarcastic, and witty. In the novelization she's said to always be in a rush for no discernable reason and she was apparently the first among her peers to lose her virginity.

Annie and Laurie have a lot of teasing banter throughout the film.

For my more concrete evidence, I have a few points I can make:

In the novelization, after making one of her jokes, Annie calls Laurie "cute" and ruffles her hair

Also in the novelization, when asking Laurie why she never goes out, Annie says "do you prefer girls? I'll try anything once"

When Annie calls her on the phone, Laurie laughs at one of her jokes while twirling her hair (although this is a stim Laurie has throughout the movie)

At one point, Annie feeds a piece of popcorn to Laurie in a vaguely homoerotic way

Now for some counterevidence:

Annie tends to poke fun at Laurie for never going out in most of their conversations. While these jabs do occasionally feel a bit mean-spirited, she does try to set Laurie up with Ben Tramer in what seems to be a genuine attempt to help her, but her refusing to back down from the arrangement is also a bit dickish.

Overall, because of what little screentime they get in the 1978 movie, it's hard to tell how seriously Laurie's friend group's teasing is. In the novelization the jokes and jabs are a bit more evenly spread throughout the group, whereas the movie tends to have a lot of jokes at Laurie's expense. I feel like "Oh great I have three options: watch the kid sleep, listen to Lynda screw around or talk to you" (a line from Annie) gives the impression that Annie doesn't like Laurie's company, which isn't great for the ship, or their friendship in general, but we do have to keep in mind she is in a particularly bad mood during this scene because her boyfriend Paul has just told her he's grounded and can't see her tonight. It's quite possible she's usually nicer to Laurie, particularly given their other scenes together.

The not-quite-picture-perfect friendship isn't a deal-breaker for the ship, though. In fact, the fact Laurie puts up with Annie's shortcomings might be a sign of a crush (although that's obviously not healthy, girl you can do better) and Annie is shown to genuinely care about Laurie.

Sashanne from Amphibia comes to mind when thinking of similar ships with toxic friend dynamics. I could see Annie going on a similar redemption arc (though obviously her behavior is not nearly as cruel or manipulative as Sasha's) and learning to appreciate Laurie more.

That isn't necessary though, as I could also see their interactions in the movie being perfectly harmless if given enough context (How long have they been friends? How often is Annie actually a GOOD friend to Laurie? Does Laurie tease Annie like this too? (we do see a little bit of this in the movie))

Now I bet you're wondering: But Mx Coolandunique, what about when Laurie tells Annie she wants to go out with Ben Tramer? Or Annie's boyfriend Paul? They're clearly interested in boys! To that I say: bisexual until proven straight, and honey, there ain't no proving these girls straight.

Annie and El Jerko are more casual than anything and Laurie might have mentioned Tramer to cover her much stronger, more embarrassing, and less socially acceptable crush (who she could NEVER ask to the dance in a million years unlessyouwanttowriteafanficaboutthatguyspleaseineedlaurniefanficitdoesn'thavetobethedancejustsomemore78laurnieimeanilike07laurniebutplease)

Overall, Laurie and Annie have an intriguing friendship dynamic with some homoerotic undertones, and would make a very interesting friends-to-lovers dynamic with lots of interesting bumps along the way. This is my pitch please someone write or draw these two they're such a rarepair it's a crime.

A lot of you might not know this about me, but I breed chickens ^^ I have a pretty decent sized operation now, mostly from Jan-May, just hatching specialty chicks and selling grown out pullets/cockerels. I'm usually more focused on the actual egg part of chicken breeding (shell quality, colour, bloom and passing down those genetics) but every once and a while I do a few colour projects too! Probably a year and a bit ago I saw a pair of Lavender Brahma's at my local chicken breeders association meet up, and I just thought they were pretty cool! I had just about every non-standard colour variation of brahma hen, so Lavender would have been a nice one to add to the collection. I ended up doing some "research" online, to see if anyone local sold them, but the only listing I could find was $60/chick USD. So by the time I did all the math on the Canadian conversion rate, what I had to do to get them shipped, what it would cost me for vet papers at the border....It wasn't really worth it.

I did have my Lavender Orp breeding flock, AND I had my brahma flock....soooo two generations of VERY lucky breeding and I HAVE THESE!!!!! I have 7 of these beautiful lavender chicks but these two are the MOST promising body condition wise. (I know it looks like the first one has scissor beak but I PROMISE they don't. They were just post-yawn when I took the picture) They're still a little messy, I can already tell the one is going to be a super lavender like some of my Orpingtons, and they'll probably have a bit of splash or colour leakage...but I'm getting sooooo close!! I would love to be able to breed and sell lavender brahmas just for fun, knowing that they're carrying all of my good egg genetics XD ((Also lol no I will not be sharing how I got Lavender genes on a brahma from scratch, ya'll can look through the pictures of the rest of my flock and figure it out for yourself <3 The genetic puzzle is all part of the fun)

Questions:

What was the first part of your wip that you created?

The Enochians. The initial inspiration for Records was actually Peter Mohrbacher's artwork which I saw at a con. I imagined a world where these vast and horrific angels just appeared in the sky over a world that was basically their sandbox. All I had to figure out was who lived in the world and what they would do about it.

If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

I picture Records having a whole intro title and credits sequence with very 80s CGI fantasy landscapes to this song here:

The fictional band Red Tape Rocket plays an important role in this series and I based their sound on my very favorite irl band, the Moody Blues, so there's a fun fact for you.

Who are your favourite characters you've made? Why?

Definitely Sydney and Dell. Sydney's a girl who struggles to see herself in a positive light after being told again and again that she's worthless by members of her own family while being quietly brushed aside by the people who are supposed to care. So when she ends up on the Spiral, it's very much a journey of self-discovery and learning to be confident in herself and boy, do I want to give her a hug.

Dell started out as an email attachment that, due to some strange reality-warping shenanigans, gains sentience on Reyna's computer. She's super excited to speak with him and teach him things because her life is sad and she has no friends and he ends up leading her on a quest to the Spiral. I already know he's going to be fun to write because AI/robots always end up my favorites anyway XD

What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

I've always thought this would make a cool Jim Henson movie so probably fans of weird, dark surreal fantasy like Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal would like it.

What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

Probably getting everything to fit together in a way that makes sense but also allowing myself to leave certain elements a mystery. Usually when I plan my magic systems, I like to make hard rules for them but the Spiral is home to an eldritch skeleton thing that literally warps reality so anything can happen.

Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

Depends what constitutes animals, I guess. I have a lot of strange creatures that inhabit the Spiral but all of them are sentient (yes, even the sandstone), so I guess they'd be more like fantasy races than animals. But they include the Varixxi, moth-like winged humanoids, the Aroon, clay pot tortoise-looking guys, and the Keem-Torali, which look like tentacled Horta that secrete acid and chill in extremely salty water.

How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

Walking mostly or, if they're lucky, my characters may catch a ride on a Colossus, but they're very hard to climb on to and you have to be careful not to get stepped on. Incidentally, there's also the molted exoskeleton of an eldritch abomination that sometimes becomes a portal when someone dies next to it, but that's not very practical.

What part of your wip are you working on rn?

I've actually been taking a little break from this so I can focus on Incantations but I really want to have my draft of book 1 finished by the end of the year.

What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?

This is pure, old school portal fantasy escapism. The main characters are all unhappy in their normal lives, wish for something more, and they get it. They're not your traditional heroes, but they get to save the world anyway.

What are your hopes for your wip?

If this story and these characters resonate with at least one person and can help them get through the day, I'll be content.

Haven't really had the Toon Patrol hyper focus like you have, nor am I as familiar with the characters, but I know you like them so since I had the idea I thought to share it.

So I present: the Toon Patrol Pantheon and their respective (Y/N) High Priests.

I can see Greasy as the God of "Greed". He's the one you pray to when you want something, be it victory in a war or just passing that test you didn't study for. Though he might not reward the last one since "If you actually want something, mi amore, you would do your best to get it, not expect it to fall into your lap. (Though it would be nice if some things and people did!)". Which is why he's so baffled when YN wouldn't return his affection. They clawed their way to the top, there's no way they didn't know what they were signing up for... So why were they playing so hard to get?

While Greasy is the god of "taking what you don't have", Stupid is the god of "being happy with what you got", the God of "Rest". He's there to remind to to sit back, relax, and ward off insomnia, which is why he's usually regarded as the "stupid god". Which makes for an interesting interaction with an YN that took the position because everyone was just too lazy to do it and they think that the cult will fall apart if they're not there to micromanage everything.

(I've just now realized I essentially made him the God of Hakuna Matata)

Psycho's tale, on the other hand, is a bit of a tragic one. Initially the God of Childlike Wonder and Imagination, people eventually started to see him as the God of Delusions, of those who are too broken or unwilling to face the real world. Such ideas became a self-fulfilling prophecy, however, as they began to warp his sense of self and eventually broke him. YN comes here as the only thing that's right in the world, the only thing he held onto despite everything. A part of him whispers that YN is not real, just another delusion as no one real could care so much about him to be the leader of his broken cult. But he doesn't care. He'll hold on to this "delusion" even if it kills him. YN is 90% sure that they're real.

(did I steal the general premise from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman? Maybe. Some of the angst is probably mine, however)

On a lighter note, I thought up Wheezy as a God of Medicine. (I also picture him looking like that one guy from tales of unfortunate events who smokes so much he has a permanent cloud around his head. Godhood perks!). He knows the herbs! YN had done it on instinct at first, and is still a bit weirded out that Wheezy lets them do it, but is happy their God trusts them that much.

Smartass I see as a god of War. Athena style though, so he handles the strategy side of things. I had the most difficulty deciding on his relationship with YN but then I thought... Conceptualized... Them as Gomez and Morticia Adams, complete with impromptu sword fights, knife tango, and the morbid but strangely romantic flirting. Which one the each of them are will change depending on the atmospheric conditions, star alignment, and whether it's in public or not ("The four idiots don't count, my sharpest sword...").

You're half right, Nimo! While I'm not a STEM student, I have been taking writing classes. And I do like sci-fy, tho I'll admit I'm picky with that genre. Like I'm not a fan of Stars Wars, but I do like Star Trek. Specifically the Kirk and Picard generations (courtesy of my mom who got me to like them lmao). I do love Twilight Zone, Tin Man----basically any part of scify that goes into supernatural elements/creatures or fantasy I usually find myself drawn towards. Aliens are always going to be hit or miss with me. Some are 👌 others just aren't my thing. I do like alternative dimensions and mad science adventures tho. Like Doctor Who or Rick and Morty is so much fun. Also Gravity Falls is literally my spirit animal.

From Tinker Bell and Shirley Barber to the wicked and gorgeous and grotesque ones you'd find in modern ya like Holly Black's books all the way to their origins in golk lore. I just love fairies. I 100% blame my mom for this and maybe the fact I grew up on Winx Club and in Barbie's Fairytopia era as well. Hello hi again one of my favourite artists, hope you're keeping well, sleeping well, and drinking plenty water

You remember when I asked for your favourite Sleep Token songs? Yeah I ended up sitting down and listening to all the ones you named so here's my thoughts on them (some of these are my first impressions but I'm still willing to share)

Missing Limbs: I can dig it and while it's not my usual taste I can see myself enjoying it from time to time and the like meaning behind is also something I can see some people relate to.

Aqua Regia: Right off the bat I will say that this might not be one of my favourites on TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden) but I do tend to catch this song sometimes stuck in the back of my mind and while that's happening I can actively picture the little animation you did to this song but yeah still really good song.

Atlantic: I definitely had to pull backs round half way maybe even before just to relisten to it but overall I'd say the song is pretty fucking good, but it definitely was a bit of a flashbang once the lyrics hit me. That and then the like last minute when it like drops into the last verse it definitely hooked me.

The Love You Want: Now I will fully admit, while I don't relate to the lyrics; I can still appreciate the song for what it is and say that I can see the reason why somebody might enjoy this song and even then the music itself is as always, good.

Fall For Me: Honestly I'll cave and say that I feel like if I listen to it more often, maybe it might grow on me but from first impressions, it feels a bit abrupt on the end. Again, probably just first impression, I might give it another shot some other some other time.

Take Me Back To Eden: Okay I did mention that this is also one of my favourites. And I will also say, this was actually the first song I heard from Sleep Token as it was shown to me by a friend of mine because he thought it was something I might like. I'm not sure what there is more to say that won't drag this out any more than it needs to so I'll try to break it down. The music in my opinion is one of Sleep Token's best. The various switch ups it has during it is amazing, and the breakdown at the end is, fucking beautiful. That and the lyrics "No amount of self-sought fury - Will bring back the glory of innocence" always stuck with me and hit in a more personal way.

Euclid: I will say this one was quite a nice one to listen to. While again, I do not have a personal connection to the lyrics I can still appreciate the song and say that I can still see myself listening to this song more often

Descending: Again, first impressions, it definitely hit but not me directly. I couldn't relate to the lyrics but it had certainly felt like perhaps I could recommend it to someone else that might. But again, appreciating the song for what it is, I think it's still a pretty alright song. Would I catch myself listening to it on the regular? I wouldn't say so but I'd still be willing to give it a chance.

Overall, I will say this was quite fun to do. I'm so sorry for the essay I left you I just really wanted to talk about this as I did actually want to listen to more Sleep Token, I just never really had a moment to do so. But I'd say from this I might try to find a moment to give the other two albums (This Place Will Become Your Tomb and Sundowning) a chance

A lot of what you said about these songs hits home with me because to be quite honest, Sleep Token was an acquired taste for me. When I first heard their music I just thought it was all ok stuff, nothing I particularly LOVED, but idk… it grew on me more and more to the point where I love them now XD

Oh gosh, for me aaaah hm! I can't really think of anything right now that I am excited for! o.o ) I do have a... number projects cooking on the mental griddle at the moment! (So many pancakes...) I have a secret project I have been apart of >:3c as well as, working on too many half baked story wips x-x ;; ) I start them and then I ramble off elsewhere aaaaaaa sjdjdjdsj there is one I want to finish because it was from my design a monster / story with emoji and I am really liking how it's turning out. I am trying to experiment and put more creativity into the prose itself, I also have a friend acting as a beta reader. (Which I have NEVER had before, but has been a fun experience!)

I have books out from the library, but I have been reading other books instead. orz I relistened to an audio book that makes me laugh because of the how silly the characters are. I been laughing... AGAIN about this particular look in gothic fashion that I have deemed "Just rolled out of the coffin," where it's, as the name says, looks like a very groggy looking vampire who just woke up. So I am wrestling with myself to not throw more on my plate because gosh I really want to draw Lawrence in that. XD (I also wanna draw Lawrence in a t-shirt with the picture of Noseferatu flicking the lights from that one time in Spongebob but PPPPPFFF)

The same beta reader friend is trying to convince me to work on that story again and AAAAAA that story is... such a... double edged sword to me, personally. On one hand at the time of finishing it, it felt like it was the best story that I have ever written. On the other, HOW DO I CONTINUE THAT?!?! D: How do I keep making it that way? And then anxiety hit and I froze over and couldn't bring myself to continue it because the fear of... messing up. And not sure where to go forward and being afraid I would spoil the story if I did skdjdkdkekd

There's a lot of things I would like to work on. o-o ;; ) I really gotta find a way to organize myself better between art and writing and just, creating in general. That and trying to restablish my art on different art websites has been stressing me out lately. ;-; ) I deleted almost all of my art off of instagram... which was almost 550 pieces of art, drawings and doodles.And realizing that place held 5+ years of my art journey and I had just deleted it was... hard to take. Still kinda mourning that and trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces.

Uhh, wracking my brain, the last thing I was kinda excited for was that I splurged and bought a pajama set from a small creator that I really love. They have a lot of cute spooky patterns and things. And this piece was from their Valloween collection which had ghosts, hearts and bats on it. 👉👈 (I also bought the cardigan with the same pattern when it first came out because it was love at first bite-- I mean sight! x//D This is the place I splurge on when I want to treat myself to cute spooky clothes. Gosh I wish the plague doctor button up came back in bigger sizes again. ;3; )

Hey, do you remember this post I made where I shared a silly heart-shaped shell build with the outside painted to resemble the polyamory flag colors to celebrate Polyamory Day? And then the tags on this post I reblogged featuring a "third wheel" bed where I mentioned I was working on turning said shell into a house for my Valicer OT3?

Happy Valicertine's Week, it's time to share the completed house! :D Well, mostly completed -- as you can see, I did not do anything with the area AROUND the house. ^^; Landscaping is not my strong point, and I was very focused on getting the interior done up just the way I wanted. Which took a lot of doing, let me tell you. ALT free placement and "bb.moveobjects on" were VERY heavily used in this particular build! But I got it done up to my satisfaction, and now it's time to show it off to all of you! :D Here are some of the key fun facts about this build:

-->You may notice a very strong theme of yellow, blue, and red in this build -- that's because those are the colors I chose to represent Smiler, Victor, and Alice respectively. I wanted to use as much of them throughout the house as possible, so I tended to favor those objects that had a bit of each color somewhere within them. Though as you can see, I wasn't afraid to use other colors -- green is well represented in the dining nook in the kitchen; two of the bathrooms are more tealy than anything else; and the furniture in the living room tends toward the maroon/purple. Because I like purple. :p

-->As you might imagine, the layout of this house was a bit of a bitch to figure out, mostly because, well, it's a fucking HEART. That is not a shape that lends itself well to being divided up into livable space! But I think what I came up with works well enough -- yeah, all the of the rooms are pretty small, and the bathrooms in particular are kind of cramped (being crammed into triangles or that weird M-shape at the top between the heart bumps), but it's not the worst.

-->Also, yes, this is house with one bedroom but three bathrooms. XD Look, I couldn't think of another thing to turn that "M" room into, and the triangles were well-suited for being small bathrooms on the side! My justification is that Victor, Alice, and Smiler definitely don't mind sharing a bed, but they'd all prefer to be able to use the toilet whenever they like, thanks.

-->In the bedroom, you may notice that we have a double bed underneath a loft bed? That was directly inspired by the "third wheel" bed post I linked up above -- I just had to do it in a different configuration because Sims 4 doesn't have any beds like the one in the post. The idea is that they can all cuddle in the lower double bed if they wanted -- but if one of them (usually Alice, hence why the loft bed is red) really wants to sleep "alone," they can go up onto the loft bed. I have to admit, though, making that bed combo REALLY drove home how few actual loft and bunk beds we have, even with the fifty million bits of DLC they've released since making them a thing. EA, you wanna convert a few more of these single beds we have lying around?

-->My big thing about this house was giving Alice, Smiler, and Victor each their own, equally-sized room for them to do their own things in. Alice's room has the Cottage Living typewriter computer for her writing, a Digitalistic Sketch Pad for drawing, a Moschino camera and tripod for taking pictures, and chess for unwinding; Smiler's room has a big fancy computer and a smart speaker for them to have fun with; a chemistry bench for them to whip up chemical concoctions on; a guitar for them to play; a yoga mat for them to do yoga; and a microphone for them to sing/tell jokes; and Victor's room has a very fancy grand piano for his music, his own Digitalistic Sketch Pad for drawing, and a nice easel for painting! I'm not ENTIRELY sure they're all equally sized, because Smiler's room had to go in the middle, and thus ended up a little small just so it didn't cut off the hallways on either side -- but then again, Victor and Alice both lose some floor space to their big curved walls, so maybe it evens out. *shrug* Plus it's probably worth noting that Smiler gets the most activities in the living room with that games table and the console beside the TV.

-->Fun fact: If you have High School Years and Growing Together? That little "thrifted" floor cabinet from the former makes an excellent "games cupboard" as the decorative puzzles and board games from the latter fit very well in/atop it. :) As does the more risque board game from Lovestruck. XD

-->Doing the kitchen was one of my favorite parts of this build -- I genuinely had a great time fitting together cabinets, counters, appliances, and decorations. I am an absolute sucker for making a kitchen look properly cluttered and lived-in now for some reason. XD And those kitchen shelves from Cool Kitchen Stuff! They need more love. So yeah, that's the build! Though, yeah, given all the interior walls in this particular house, you could probably tell that taking pictures of it was a bit tough. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to go right into the house and be able to take a tour of it?

When you imagine anything with your F/Os, is it you you that you're picturing? Or like. An idealized version of yourself? Is anything about her different or is she just straight up *you*? I've had this image in my head for so long of someone who thinks like me, but looks and acts quite different - almost like an OC. I think I'm getting a bit better about this though, I've been working on making my Sim self and it's helping 😅😅

From looking through this blog, it seems like you usually imagine your F/Os with you in the real world? Do you ever imagine yourself in their universe? For me I almost always imagine myself as a character in their universe!

I'm still warming up to the idea of F/Os... but for as a long as I can remember I've had daydream scenarios with soooo many different characters over the years. But I always just considered them maladaptive daydream scenarios 🙈🙈🙈 I LOVE the enthusiasm you have for your F/Os, though!! <3

As for the w o r l d, I usually imagine- it depends on the day XD Here are the various worlds I imagine myself in with them XD I put them under the cut cuz it partly answers the question and its also just me waffling about my various ongoing fantasies 😅

All of them: Some weird in-between world set in London with Cruella. Somehow the other 3 live there too now in this one 😅

All of them: Variant of same in-between world except I live in Maine with Jim because I l o v e the idea of living near a lake or in the bush/woods or something- I swear, if I could live out in the sticks I'd never be anxious ^^ Usually in this one, Otis lives in the basement XD

Jim: The Lake Placid universe. Yes, I imagine myself in the universe! ^^ I'm not a character in the story, though, I generally imagine I'm cursed or the multiverse glitched or something and I ended up dropped in the last fictional universe I watched on TV XD So I'm just there, knowing e x a c t l y what happens and when in this story but keeping my mouth sealed s h u t about it (*cough* while shooting my shot with Jim) XD

Jim (Variant): At the moment I'm playing with a variant of this one where a version of me does already exist in the Lake Placid universe when I get there- and she's a... shall we say... adult movie star XD 🤣 Its fun!

Otis: The H1000C universe. Same as the Lake Placid one above. I end up in this universe at Spaulding's petrol station with a friend from the real world (Who either knows the story or doesn't- both can be equally fun cuz I'm either freaking out with them or freaking out for the both of us XD) and get wrapped up in the story with the main victims while trying to get the hell out before Otis sees me cuz n o I don't wanna get m u r d e r e d thank you very much-

Any of them: Switcheroo. They get dumped in t h i s (o u r) universe/timeline. And I have to keep them hidden so no one recognises them as their actor in public.

Any of them: Switcheroo Variant. We both end up in a separate universe and have to work together to get the hell out. Catch? This universe already has a version of them (A different character by the same actor. For example if the focus F/O is Jim it could be the ANOES universe. Or if the focus F/O is Otis, it could be Texas Chainsaw Massacre! XD) and possibly a different version of me as well and we have to avoid meeting/making eye contact with these other versions in order to avoid a fault in the space time continuum or whatever 😅 (And also avoid other problems that might come along with meeting characters like Freddy Krueger or Inkubus or Chop Top Sawyer🙃)

So yes... I do like to use the real me in my F/O fantasies (feels more personal for me ^^) but its not always the real world XD Its not always their fictional world. A lot of the time its just random 😅 Its completely up to you individually what you do with your daydreaming! ^^ It is s o so individual and self indulgent.

(Prompt #10: BLOW TO THE HEAD + SECRETS REVEALED | Slurred Words | Passing Out from Pain | "I can't think straight.")

Notes: This one is settled during the final battle, it's basically Haru and Senju interactions between chapters 248-250, but adding my personal take about wtf was going on inside of Haru's mind. (it was hard to make sense of buzbuzbuz, but I did my best xD)

In the lil pink gremlin's defense, he's terribly hurt, but he turns his pain into rage as a (bad) way to cope with it. Also, Senju unconsciously triggered tl0 memories and nothing good ever comes from that. Ooopsie?

Warnings: implied child neglect and very traumatic childhood in general, dysfunctional family (Akashis, welp). Canon compliant violence. Manga spoilers!

“Buzz, buzz, buzz”

It was how it sounded inside his head — an annoying and piercing murmur, echoes of his past that wanted to prevent him from moving forward.

“Fighting all flamboyant like that, your buzzing disgusts the hell out of me!”

A count, as this was just another one of the games they used to invent together instead of an actual battlefield. Apparently, the mere fact that these bugs had the guts to challenge them wasn’t disrespectful enough — no, his little sister had to come here and make fun of everything he had helped his king to build. 

“Haru!”

Oh, she dared to play that card? Using an affectionate nickname on him, trying to appeal to their sibling bond. At least that would explain the way Senju was fighting — holding back. A big mistake, especially if she was expecting the same treatment. 

“Did you forget who raised you when you were younger? I can read your moves very easily!” 

Sanzu grinned, trying to provoke her, to force her to take this fight seriously. Didn’t he warn her when Brahman got founded? Yes, he did. But as usual, no one in his that family listened — no one saw, no one understood.

And what now? Sanzu was supposed to have mercy on her? No, that time had already passed. He gave her a chance to back off, it wasn’t his problem anymore. No matter if something inside of him stirred when he saw the way Senju gritted her teeth or how the blood running down her face forced her to close one eye. 

“What’s wrong, Senju? You’re surprisingly not as tough as I thought.”

Yeah, that was it. All the bravado was just a facade, she had never been brave enough to stand up before. Not for him, never when he needed her — no, that wasn’t right, he never needed any of them.

“Haru-nii, I’ll take my loss, let’s end this here.”

Was she actually willing to turn around and let him live his own life? To accept his decision of cutting all ties, to be his own person — not an Akashi, never again. 

“I’m sick of us siblings fighting each other because of my mistake, I regret it.” 

A mistake? A fucking mistake? Did she really believe that was the only reason why he ran away from home? He couldn’t even care less about which one of her many mistakes she was talking about.

His fists clenched around the metal pipe. Once more, his sister's inability to see the full picture erased everything Sanzu went through living under that roof. It was on him, for allowing himself to have a brief ray of hope — to believe even for a fleeting moment, that any of his siblings would acknowledge his pain. 

“That day, when Mikey gave you those scars… Haru-nii, I’m truly sorry.” 

No. Not this, she had no right to talk about it — she knew nothing, and she showed up to say all that crap in front of his king? Of the people who followed him, both of them? Who the fuck cared if she was crying, if she was sorry?

An empty apology that came ten years later wouldn’t fix shit — of course it wouldn’t, this wasn’t about him, it was about Senju clearing her conscience. The same selfish brat, unable to put herself in his shoes. To ask herself why Sanzu never revealed who broke that stupid toy. 

Instead, she assumed this was the right thing to do. Burdening everyone with a truth no one asked for, risking reawakening Mikey’s feeling of guilt. Now that his king had finally accepted Sanzu back to his side, now that he could touch with the tip of his fingers everything he ever wanted — Mikey, it had always been Mikey. 

Sanzu couldn’t even look at her — hate-flavored bile rising up his throat — when he dealt the final blow. 

“Whatever happened on that day, you don’t understand anything about it.” 

None of them understood the real reason behind the shiver that ran down his spine when he traced his scars — disdain written all over his face while he looked down at the unconscious body of that stranger who used to be his little sister. 

 “What you did back then was merely a trigger.” 

A crooked smile appeared on his face while he turned around and walked away. They’ll never understand, Sanzu will take this secret to his grave. 

Ps: It's kind hilarious that some minutes after his secret will be out bc Mikey himself explains it, but welp, Haru was convinced he would take it to his grave! xD

Omg, Idk if my previous ask got through, it just said „hello“ so if it did, ignore that please, if not…please ignore this too?? XD anywayy, as more and more pieces of the Villain Leo Au/Story are being released, I was wondering, might you share a bit about your writing process? I noticed that the Aftermath is built very differently from other fanfics since you change perspectives constantly, but you also „rewind“ a bit every time you do that. And I was wondering, when you have an idea for a story, do you immediately write prompts or do you plan out the story before you write anything and how do you do with the Aftermath and Villain Leo? Hello hello! I didn't get your other message so this works hehe.

As far as a writing process... it definitely differs from fic to fic and story to story. Usually I imagine a scene and that's my springboard, and that can be at any point in the story. I've even had something as simple as a song painting a vivid picture in my head and have built entire stories off of that before -- like my Project Kitsune story.

In fact, I have a LOT of stuff planned for the V!AU already but everything I've actually written is too far in the future of the plot for me to share just yet. (oops LOL)

The Aftermath was originally only supposed to be 4 chapters *wheeze*, so that one... I was already handling differently. But then it continued to form and grow into the monster (/aff) that it is now. But I still wanted to stick with the theme of diving into each character and how they were handling everything post-invasion. That means I wanted to see how they felt during the time they thought that Leo was gone, as well as how they were feeling AFTER. Also, switching POV's per chapter was pretty normal for me as a kid! It's been nice to write that way again as an adult.

Ironically, the V!Leo AU isn't much different. I watched a video that sent my brain into a "what if" spiral and it just continued to grow from there! It also pulled in some of my good friends and they have been a HUGE help and lots of fun to plan the story out with. I had some ideas but having others to brainstorm with has been extremely fun and useful. Also, one simple question changed a lot of the trajectory of certain relationships and now there are characters in this AU I never expected to put here. But it made it so much more interesting.

If there's one thing I love to do, it's to write character studies. I love world building and such in my original works too, but my favorite thing to do is write characters. If you have strong characters that make you feel a lot of things, sometimes even a weaker plot can still work.

Uhhh this is probably a longer response than you intended to get LOL. But, my writing process tends to be centered a lot around "what if's" in fanfic, and in original works, it's a lot of "what's fresh but also familiar". I also used to not make notes and now I HAVE to or I write myself into a corner. Having a spot for notes and ideas is important bc even if they change, at least you don't get lost as easily. Especially with something like the V!AU which uh... takes place over several long years.
