okay so they are a throuple throughout this, russell reader bc that's been on my mind

warnings: they get called toxic at one point

1. That time in the club - Charles

She wasn't even there with them, not technically anyway. They just also happened to be there, watching as she danced with her friends.

Lando looked all parts frat boy in the club: shirt open to reveal a bit of his chest and the necklaces he wore (one for his sister, one for his loves), and backwards snapback. Max was in his skinny years (you can take the boy out of the Netherlands, but not the Netherlands out of the boy). Charles had those stupid star jeans that he loved so much (and she loved them, too).

They weren't there to interrupt her night with her friends, but they were aware of just how pretty she was. It was kind of toxic, wasn't it? That they didn't want her in the club without them there to keep an eye on her.

But then that fucking guy came up to her.

Her friends had turned away for two seconds, walked up to the bar to get them all some drinks, and that guy took his chance.

Charles saw it first. He was laughing at something Max was saying when he saw the guy walk up to her and whisper something in her ear.

In an instant he'd shoved his drink into Lando's hand and strode over. His face was set in anger that wasn't usually seen outside of the race track as he pushed the guys hand away from her and pulled her in. "Can I help you?" He asked.

But, as soon as he said it, he turned away from the guy, small smile gracing his lips as he pressed a kiss to her temple. "Is he bothering you?" He asked, but the guy couldn't hear him over the music.

"He's okay," she said and tipped his face towards her so that she could properly kiss him, so that the guy stood in front of them could she who she belonged to.

(As soon as she had kissed one of her boyfriends, she turned towards the other two. But she couldn't beckon them over and kiss them in front of this guy, not without him getting the wrong idea).

The guy backed away. "Crikey," she mumbled as soon as he had walked off. "I thought he'd never leave

2. That time in her Instagram DMs - Lando

When you have a super hot girlfriend, it shouldn't come as a surprise when people are sliding into her DMs.

It had happened a couple of times, and Lando, Max and Charles were always there to delete the messages from her inbox (she didn't have a PR team to look after her like her boyfriends and her brother did).

And, although she never ever answered, although she was very public with her relation ship with not one, not two, but three formula one drivers, people still tried.

Most of the time, people slipped through the cracks. It was easy to ignore the accounts constantly messaging her because, well, she just didn't care to answer.

But then she saw the accounts that popped up again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

She didn't mean to click on his DMs. Actually, Lando had sent a meme to the groupchat and she'd meant to click on that instead. But then his notification was at the top, where she was about to click. And she fucking clicked it.

It wasn't his messages that she saw first. No, it was a penis. A dick pic, that had been sitting in her DMs for... how long? As soon as it was on her screen she threw her phone and covered her mouth.

Taking a minute to recover she stood and walked to find Lando at his PlayStation. If this had been a few years ago, he would have been streaming. Thank God he wasn't.

"Lan," she said and sat on his lap. "This was your fault, you fix it."

He looked at her phone, and almost threw up. "How the fuck was this my fault?"

"If you hadn't sent that meme to the groupchat, I wouldn't have accidentally clicked this!"

But Lando still furrowed his brows at her. So, she explained it all to him (that this guy was one of those freaks that constantly messaged her).

Lando fixed it. He took a picture of himself, hood up, curls visible out the front of his hood, and middle finger up. The expression on his face was clearly unimpressed as he stared at the camera.

This is her boyf, fuck off

It was cringe and cliché, and she loved it. The guy in her DMs opened the picture instantly, and Lando blocked him.

He passed her phone back and she climbed onto his lap. "Thank youuuuuuu," she said and hissed his neck a couple of times.

Lando's hands settled on her hip. "No more opening dick pics unless they're from me, yeah?"

She agreed to that.

3. That time with George - Max

There was nothing worse than seeing her brothers car collide with one of her boyfriends. But, if it had to be one of them, why did it have to be Max?

Max, who got out of the car, fuming. Max, who couldn't be stopped by Lando or Charles as he marched over to George.

They got into a fight, one that was clearly about more than the crash. Nobody knew what either man had said. Lando rushed over, while Charles ran to her and pulled him against her, hiding her in his chest.

"She's my fucking sister!" George shouted as Lando got between them. "She's my sister and you treat her like you own her!" His eyes moved to Lando, and then to Charles. "All of you do."

She didn't know George had this kind of problem with her relationship. Of course, it didn't change anything. She loved them, she knew what there relationship was all about, and she was happy.

But her brother was still fighting with her boyfriend. She pulled away from Charles and strode over. "George!" She shouted, and her brother turned towards her. "What the fuck!"

"It's racing stuff."

She rolled her eyes. "I'm not stupid," she said. "I heard everything, you idiot."

"Oh," he said and stood up straight. "Well, I'm right, aren't I? Max wouldn't be trying to kick the shit out of me."

She frowned. "Is your problem that I'm dating them, or that they're protective?"

"Possessive."

"Protective."

"Possessive."

This went on for a little while. Max, Lando and Charles stood behind her, watching as the siblings went back and forth. When Charles laid his hand on her shoulder, she snapped back into it. "Right, yeah," she said and shook her head. "They're not possessive. Lando saved me from a guy with dick pic the other day, George! Or do you want me getting sent dick picks every five minutes."

George rolled his eyes. "Of course not," he said. "But-"

"Then shut the fuck up and stop trying to kill my boyfriend on track."

if this was a modern au I think Gale would have realized his sexuality kind of early in life; he thought that he was attracted to girls when he was younger, but realized it was only because he wanted to be just like them. He latched onto Marge pretty quickly because he liked her energy; her no nonsense behavior towards dudes and protectiveness of Gale made him instantly drawn to her. They fawned over boys together, went through Playgirl magazines in Marges bedroom after school together, and people-watched at the mall and pointed out the boys they thought were attractive.

Gale started living his authentic gay life in college where he tried dating guys but never really found "the one" because they all just wanted a quick fuck, to kiss and tell and leave Gale behind.

John didn't really have the same journey when he was in high school. He liked girls, had dated a couple, but had a bunch of internalized homophobia when he also had crushes on boys the same way he had crushes on girls. He has an identity crisis throughout high school until he goes to college, where he meets Marge and Gale. John initially thinks they're dating. He gets jealous of Marge bcs he thinks Gale is one of the most beautiful people he has seen. Only when he starts getting to know them does he realize that Gale is gay and Marge is bi. He doesn't understand what being bisexual means until Marge explains it; essentially liking all genders. John realizes that that's what he must identify as, bcs he feels the exact same way that Marge was describing.

When he and Gale start dating, he still has a little bit of internalized homophobia bcs he doesn't really feel comfortable with his identity. Only when he sees Gale, who wears his identity on his shoulder and with pride, does he start to accept who he truly is.

Even though Gale is really shy and reserved, he always helps John with his sexuality and identity. He was only afraid for a moment when he thought he was just going to be another experiment for John, but gets reassured when John just is obsessed with him.

Gale realizes that John is "the one" when they graduate college. He'd had a rough transition from schooling into the workplace and his personality changed. He no longer felt comfortable showing the world his sexuality and identity to the world, and just sort of felt lost. Like Gale had done to John, John did to Gale when he started to have his identity crisis. He stayed with Gale through thick and thin, encouraging him throughout it all. Told Gale that he loved him no matter what.

I think later in life they become more "gale-sexual" "john-sexual" because they've realized they found their person. No longer were they looking at others like they looked at each other, they didn't feel the same urges they did when they were teens. John still identifies as bisexual, and Gale still identifies as gay, but they really only have eyes for each other.

i actaually had some pretty lore heavy origin story hcs for those guys a couple of years ago, but i dont think i ever posted them. ill put some of the old art here and paste the lore under a cut cause its LONG (replaced the old swk and maq in the last pic with some more recent ones bc my hcs for them changed so much lmao)

their lore was well researched i spent days on it but it was a couple years ago lmao, its based on the principals they represent plus which of yin/yang they represent

long armed gibbon- can seize the sun and the moon, distinguish the auspicious from the inauspicious, and manipulate planets and stars

gibbon was born when a seed from a fir tree fell from heaven to earth. it landed on top of an eroded mountian and a tree started growing. after several hundred years, when the tree stretched high enough and was wise enough and the pine cones had gone from dark purple to blue, the trunk split one day at sunrise on a blue misty morning and gibbon walked into the world

red-buttocked horse monkey- who has knowledge of yin and yang, understands human affairs, is adept in its daily life and able to avoid death and lengthen its life

horse was born from a drop of water flung from a trough in heavens stables (part of the reason swk was so pleased to guard the horses when he went)

when she fell to earth she became a river that people often visited and talked around and played in. from this she came to understand human affairs. she also found she could help creatures avoid death or prolong their life by feeding their crops. when she knew enough, she climbed out of the river at sundown and walked into the world

sun wukong, the wise stone monkey- who knows transformations, recognizes the seasons, discerns the advantages of earth, and is able to alter the course of planets and stars

stealing from nezha reborn where the myth goes that when nüwe patched the sky, the leftover stone was where swk came from, but im changing it to one of the tiles that was used to create the furnace was dropped, leaving a monkey sized gap where he could later on slot into to keep himself alive in there. the tile was knocked out of the basket by the wind and fell to earth and this was the only one that landed on ffm. you know the story here, he absorbed chi from heaven AND earth which is why hes so powerful

six eared macaque- who has a sensitive ear, discernment of fundamental principles, knowledge of past and future, and comprehension of all things

macaque was born very suddenly when a piece of moon rock broke off and fell to earth on a new moon. the resulting meteor created a huge and sudden flash of light in a forest which created hundreds of stark shadows at once. the shadows condensed and the resulting being wouldnt have lived if it hadnt been a new moon because he needed the next hours of darkness to collect himself into a full being. but before the night was done, a new monkey was born who was able to hear everything in the radius he had collected shadows from, which if youve ever seen a meteor flash, is a long way

somethin interesting abt the things that created them- swks tile was actually heavenly, which is why he represents primarily yang (heaven). his was the only one that was CRAFTED BY heaven. gibbon and horse are both from something that fell from heaven and then the earth changed its form (the tree grew on earth from a heavenly seed, and the drop of water became a river) whereas macaque, representing the yin is fully of earth, the meteor that created him was from heaven but he didnt directly come from the meteor, he came from the shadows it created on earth. his only connection is to the earth

sheesh, your secrets post reminded me about this series of events that happened to me some years ago. i’ve probs never told this whole story but here goes:

so i was in this situationship with a guy and only two of my (then) best friends knew about it. one of my best friends became part of the same friend group that my situationship was from (i’d introduced her to that group and she did it behind my back. i did not care about that tho).

what i did not also know was that the guy i was seeing had a long distance girlfriend and i was ”the other woman”. the whole friend group knew about it, including my best friend and no one told me.

my situationship went to shit because i had a feeling that something was off and the guy kept giving major redflag vibes. couple of months after i found through facebook (lol) that my former situationship had had this gf behind my back and i decided to tell the gf because i was absolutely mortified. told my best friend that i was gonna do it and she went behind my back to tell the gf about me. obvi the gf blocked me before i could contact her and i was confused af. my best friend just told be that it must be that my ex-situationship must’ve come clean to her with his version of events or some shit.

time went on and i drifted off from my best friend because she was acting off all the time + started to date one guy from the friendgroup who she’d been trying to impress. suddenly she didn’t have anytime to even text me bc she was 24/7 with the guy. decided that if she is happy, then it’s all okay. also i should have realised what was going on when i saw pics of my former bff and ex-situationships gf on social media but i’d already moved on in my life.

year and a half later my ex-situationship wanted to talk to me. his guilt was eating him and he told me that my former bff had known about the relationship whole time and after having a talk with my ex-situationship had agreed to keep it all from me. when i’d later found about the relationship and told my former bff that i was gonna go talk to the gf, she’d gone straight to my ex-situationship and promised to support him in any version of story he wanted to tell the gf.

i obviously did not believe my ex at all. told him that he’s just trying to get back to my good graces but then came the proof. he had messages, voice memos, everything.. he also told me that he and his gf were not on talking terms with my ex bff and his bf anymore and showed proof.

told him thanks for telling but that it really doesn’t matter anymore, saved all of the messages and stuff but also told him that i’d found out later on that he was a serial cheater (from an external source) and that i want nothing to do with him. i knew he was just trying to absolve some guilt he had and i was just means to an end.

the big secret is that i never confronted my former bff about it, so she does not know that i know what she did for months behind my back just because she wanted to date my ex’s bff.

she contacts me in once a 3-6 months asking how i am and that she misses me. we talk some but we have not seen each other in like over 4 years.

Woah that must have been awful to find out for you! I hope you’re doing better with it all today and with the distance to the situation as you’ve said 🫶🏻Thank you for sharing this with me! THEN I came across this freaking adorable fic of these two (it's this one!) that somehow converted me back to shipping these two??? then I started thinking up random scenarios involving the two and yeah imma say I adore these two. idk I feel like zee would be good for chase, like their way of viewing the world would be pretty helpful for someone like chase?? This actually not a follower but this little tag gave me so many thoughts bc this topic is actually so important to me.

I think @dialectical-material-gworl meant this as a little bit of a joke and it made me giggle as well BUT it also is the truth.

And not just fit hot guys but guys in general. I am a 44 year old cis woman, and I love a good cry because it helps me getting rid of stress physically.

It's not that I like to cry, but when I do, I try to embrace and just let it be.

And as a woman that seems to totally be ok. Tumblr might be a platform for a lot of men who are sensitive and emotionally open but in real life? I can count on one hand the amount of times I have seen a man cry. And not for lack of men in my life.

A lot of men are still under the assumption that crying is weak bc they have been raised that way.

But! It's not that men don't get sad. They just get taught to cope with that differently. Sentences like this I hear on playgrounds still to this day: "It's not that bad. Pull yourself together. Boys don't cry." I think and hope this slowly changes with new generations of parents, and I also let my son cry and tell him that's completely normal.

I remember vividly when this book came out - it has (very beautiful) pictures of male actors, crying. It felt revolutionary at the time. And honestly? It still does.

So when I had the idea to give my OC Vinnie the "sad face" expression, combined with the face palm pose (this pic is from my console days), I became a bit obsessed with this.

I made a couple of pics of him crying, and I actually wanna do more on PC now with the custom expressions.

There is something so tender and beautiful about people allowing themselves to cry, not just men, of course, but especially men because they usually don't even allow themselves.

So yes, (fit hot) guys have problems, too, and they should be crying about them to be crying about them is totally normal.

The last one is there bc I accidentally used a Dream spawn egg instead of a Dream blob spawn egg, idk if you included The Man on purpose but boy howdy was I taken aback, you should've seen the look on my face lol (I was in a single player world and suddenly there was A Man, dream herobrine descendant confirmed). He walked off a cliff and died. (btw it would be extremely funny if when breeding them you had a tiny chance to make A Man)

If you werent looking for notes, no worries, they are already extremely adorable and perfect as is! I just know I and others would love to have them in survival worlds!^o^

P.S. heres a pic of the cliff The Man jumped off of with some blobs standing precariously on the edge. None of them ever fell off though, only The Man. nature is fascinating

they do spawn naturally! at least I think they should cuz I set it to spawn naturally unless I accidentally made it too rare lol but on my first world with them I saw a couple of natural ones!

the dream blob follows you around when you have an eye of ender but I'll make it so you can also tame them with it ty for the feedback :]
