career. change. help
so I am making a career change because teaching is going to make me burn out and I NEED YOUR HELP to brainstorm, fellow neurodivergents and degenerates!!!!! do you have any personal experience? any careers or jobs that work for you? (doesn't need to be a 'career' that your parents would be proud of; postie works fine!)
if you don't have any ideas, could you pass it around?
what we're working with / difficulties:
I am adhd and hyperactive. I like moving around a lot and struggle to sit still all day
I am also most likely autistic. I get HUGE masking/social hangovers that mean that when I teach for 2 hours, I need to spend another 2 hours directly afterwards in the dark with noise cancelling headphones. teaching in a school left me essentially unable to cook, clean or socialise for a year. even now teaching 1-1 means that I spend 100% of the time teaching recovering afterwards at least - so an hour recovering for an hour's teaching. this inevitably leads to burnout.
I have a lot of sensory difficulties and get easily overstimulated e.g. bright lights, sounds etc. I wear blue light cancelling glasses and use loops and/or noise cancelling headphones where applicable but yeahhhh. still doesn’t really do it
I have a problem with my ulnar nerve which means that typing for extended periods of time (even standing up, even with accommodations) is difficult. This is a cumulative thing, so it means that if I don’t type very much for one day, it’ll be easier the next day, but I still can only type for about 3 hours maximum. After a while (say 3-4 days of typing a reasonable amount), everything begins to hurt and eventually my hands seize up and I can’t use them :))) I can’t really use assistive technology enough as a stop-gap, because scrolling, clicking, holding a phone, cooking, washing up etc – all things where my elbows are a right angle all cause this problem
strengths:
I have a lot of experience teaching and tutoring. Don’t really want to continue this, but this is what my main experience so far is in – I’ve taught in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and the UK
I have experience managing teams of teachers and training, running interviews, writing curriculums etc. basically anything teacher-related I am fairly experienced at
I can speak (obviously) english, decent mandarin chinese, decent german, and could get good at french or spanish or dutch if you gave me like. six months to reactivate it
a good degree from a good university in the uk, linguistics, first class
I have a yoga teaching qualification
physically fit and able-bodied and active – I can run, walk, climb, pull things, do whatever
the issue I’m facing is that most ‘autism friendly’ careers I am looking at all involve extensive periods of typing, which I am not really able to do. and most ‘normal’ careers all involve extensive periods of socialising, which I am not really able to do. It’s a pretty shit situation. I am very good and enjoy performance-type things like teaching drama, yoga, tour guiding and stuff – all things my adhd brain loves – but I can only do them for a very short period of time before my autistic brain needs alone time in the dark.
So anyway. What sort of things do you guys do? What works for you? Any tips or help or directions would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately it’s not a ‘how to solve the world career’, but ‘how to have a life’ type career – I am not adverse to working as a cleaner or a traffic warden or whatever. As long as I can write my book alongside (which I can’t do with ‘typing’ heavy jobs), I’ll be happy. at the moment I'm mainly just sad and frustrated at how little life i can lead even working 15 hours a week (which is all I work, and all, with this current job, that I can work)
maybe I’ll just make a youtube channel. imagine

Gehenna War
It's pretty neat, yo.
Like Blood-Stained Love, it transforms the core "personal and political" horror of Vampire into another subgenre. Unlike Blood-Stained Love, it has a lot of concrete advice for Storytellers on structuring scenes, assembling pools, building characters to interact with, and making that subgenre work at the table.
An effort has been made, here. There's a little chart in the introduction claiming that Chapters 2 and 3, and the Appendices, will be of use to any action chronicle, be it more high concept or street level, and having read the durn things I think that claim's borne out. I'm gonna talk about those sections first, and later loop back around to the specifically Gehenna War stuff.
Chapter 2 has neat archetypes for characters in various armed conflict roles - generals, spies, intelligencers, recruits, veterans - with recommendations for priority stats rather than statblocks, so these can be flipped for player or Storyteller use. Suggestions for bonus XP amounts if you want more powerful starting characters, and focused specialisations that advise you to focus particular areas of your character sheet - almost like soft classes, or playbooks. A handful of new Merits and Flaws (one of which is getting slammed onto Penny), and a mixed bag of Discipline powers. Bloodform is back? Woo! There are "reroll Rouse checks for raising this one Attribute or using this one Discipline" openers for the Physical Disciplines? Swing and a miss, more filler. There's two incredible new high-end Blood Sorcery rituals (I shall be using both of them very soon), and some funky Thin-Blood Alchemy if you want your Duskborn to join a Methuselah cult.
Then: advice on running Basic Combat, and explicit guidance on the modularity of the Advanced Combat rules, and a few new ones. This is brilliant stuff for new Storytellers, reflective of the demand for the Combat Primer, and it's given me some ideas I didn't have before, and ALSO. VINDICATION. OBSERVE.
One of the things that waters down play over time is if the characters need to build the same dice pool every time for the same task. To avoid this, Storytellers should vary the traits involved according to the situation, to keep things interesting and to curb players trying to optimize their pools.
Leaving aside that awful syntax at the start - "Play becomes predictable if the characters need to build the same dice pool every time they attempt a task" - activate your voice, and dismiss "is" clauses, you cowards! - anyway, leaving that aside, this is how I've been doing things all along and I love that a book explicitly says "do it and don't get hung up on the exact RAW every time."
Car chase mechanics, cute new gear (I like the Scourge Blades, nasty-ass duelling swords that delay vampiric healing). Then it's on to story advice!
Chapter Three does something I wish Blood-Stained Love had done for romance: getting into the structure of action stories, how action interacts with other genre qualifiers (crime, horror, survival, thriller etc.), the escalating role of villains - like, actual formalist thinking about how stories work. We then get some mechanical advice on how to shift the mode of play, how to approach things like Hunger and Frenzy to make them more or less of a factor. It's short, but it's fuckin' GOOD.
Appendix I is all about dice. When you should and shouldn't roll, as opposed to taking half. Grouping those moments into broad types by what they do to the emergent story. How to add variation with tracker rolls or unusual dice pools. How to manage failures on tests and what to offer players to keep the story moving. And, most important of all, how to deal with the Beast, going through each Skill and showing how the Beast impacts a Messy Critical (still a success, remember!) or a Bestial Failure.
You need this Appendix. The corebook needed this appendix. Maybe it took six years of best practice and sharing ideas to get these ideas fully understood. Maybe if there'd been one dev team since the start we might have had this sooner. At least we have it now.
I'll talk about the Gehenna War itself in a follow-up post. That's Chapters One, Four, Five and Six, and Appendix II.

sayaka is pretty affectionate
her love language is gift giving so you're always waking up to cute notes around the house when she's gone
flowers are a frequent thing, whenever she sees a pretty bouquet she has to get it
she's touchy too, her favorite ways to touch you are by holding your arm, laying in your lap, and hand holding
she tends to take the lead on dates, and just in general too
she always has something fun planned to surprise you, like a fancy dinner at a reservations-only restaurant
remember, she's super famous so she can get you in anywhere
days of sitting at home doing nothing are rare, she simply won't let you be lazy
the two of you try many activities together, like music festivals, painting by the ocean, couples' cooking classes, etc.
sayaka treats you to a lavish lifestyle because she can, and she loves spoiling you
if you see something you like in a shop window but don't get it, guess what you find sitting on your bed the next day
in conclusion, dating sayaka is being flooded with love through touch and gift-giving, being spoiled, and filling your schedule with fun
celestia ludenberg
oh my goshhhhh you can't tell me celeste wouldn't spoil you and dress you up 24/7
she won't make you wear gothic lolita clothing like hers if you don't want to but god forbid you wear something secondhand
suddenly your entire closet has been replaced with designer outfits and your old clothing has been shoved somewhere else where she's hoping you'll forget them
anyway, when she buys you clothes you can bet your ass she's gonna make you put on a fashion show for her while she gives commentary
other than clothes though she'll frequently buy you material things like jewelry
she LOVES to see you wearing things she's bought you, it gives her a bit of a power trip
celeste's love language is quality time
the two of you don't need to be talking to have a good time with each other
her favorite activity with you actually involves complete silence
the two of you reading books in each other's presence, accompanied by tea and finger sandwiches that celeste had her butler prepare
this activity is only occasionally interrupted with dialogue, and its always very short
"is your novel living up to your expectations?"
"mhm"
"would you like another cup of tea?"
"why thank you, dear"
she is into physical touch too! she just doesn't crave it 24/7
she likes sitting in your lap or vice versa, she likes the power trip but also likes to feel like she's at someone else's whim sometimes
♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧♤♧
i think i need more of celeste...

Kaede Rui Blake | 26 | 6’6 | December 13th
Personality:
Kaede is your stereotypical himbo, golden retriever boyfriend. Filled with an insane amount of energy and a boundless amount of joy for every little thing, he’s the perfect man to bring home to your parents. Kaede's high energy and friendliness make him the type of person who greets everyone with a smile and a wave, no matter how well he knows them. Whether he's at the neighbor's house trying to fix their shed or at the local elementary school teaching his P.E. class, Kaede is always willing to lend a helping hand. He likes to keep himself busy at all times, having way too much energy to handle sitting still and meditating with his sister, Missy.
He’s pretty much the last one to catch the sarcasm in any sentence, if he catches it at all. You're also going to need to spell a lot of other things out to him; flirting, jokes that aren't obvious, big words (both literally and figuratively spell those out for him, please). Despite his helpful nature, Kaede tends to avoid anything involving direct confrontation or conflict. If someone’s upset with him, he’s more likely to apologize profusely and try to fix the situation than stand up for himself.
He's a really big fan of sports, being the local handyman, and doing everything he can to be the best uncle this world has ever seen.
Backstory:
Kaede was adopted at a very young age, only remembering his time at home with his fathers and sister, Artemis. He’s always been an athletic child, enjoying every single sport his fathers would place him in. This fostered his lifelong passion for sports, which eventually led him to pursue a career as a physical education teacher.
Though his family life was happy, Kaede occasionally struggled with academics and was teased for hard times in school. However, his natural charm and positive attitude always won people over, and by the time he was in high school, he was a beloved figure both in and out of the rink. Despite these challenges, his fathers and sister were always his biggest supporters, never making him feel like he needed to be anything other than himself.
Motivations and Goals:
Kaede’s main goal in life is simple: to keep those he cares about happy and safe. He doesn't have some great big plan to become the next big hockey player or take on any special adventure. He simply wants to be there. For his family now and his growing one in the future when he eventually settles down. He's not actively searching, but he hopes that, one day, someone who shares his love and passion for family and fun comes his way.
Likes:
His family
Being active
Teaching
DIY projects
Dogs
Dislikes:
Confrontation
Bullies
Staying still
Bad weather
Appearance:
Kaede is wayyy above average height, standing about six and a half feet tall, with a larger, muscular frame. He is a Japanese man with long, black hair, a beard, red eyes, and wears glasses. He dresses like your average P.E. teacher, occasionally bringing out the jeans and letterman jacket to dress a little more stylish (with the help of his sister).

Req: take ur fav blorbo and write about a perfect date for them
PERFECT DATE WITH ITWARD
You fool I dont have one sole favorite, they rotate out with every new hyperfixiation. It feels like a "you're my new best friend"(/ref) everytime I focus on a new one 😭😭
Thst said while I want to indulge and write something for knubbler since theres next to nothing for him, hes like. The one character that I truly cannot pin down and keep in character (also I wanna dwell on my fran bow rot for a little longer, I'm not quite ready to pull the plug and stew over metalocalypse again <\3)
Given that hes canonically introverted (which still throws me for a loop, even though thinking about it, it makes sense!) I think he wouldnt want to go anywhere that involves interacting with people more than necessary... gotta keep his social battery up through the night for you; you know!
Though as I write this I've been struck with an idea, one that I've likely tied to multiple characters before thanks to my fondness of it; a date where you guys just get tother and cook and/or bake something together
Maybe I'm a sucker for domestic fluff stuff, maybe it's because I myself am a baker, or maybe its something else
But coming from someone who used to participate in mock-restaurant days in my school culinary class, I can say with confidence that baking/cooking together takes a lot of teamwork and communication
Something that itward holds near and dear, I think!
Zero thoughts, only itward standing behind you and guiding your hands when you're cutting something up
Hyper specific to me because I have hands thst sometimes go unsteady and jerk around, but HUSH!
Not related to the request but tjers another favorite trope of mine; character a steadying character b's hands (doesnt matter if they're shaking due to fear, or if theres a neurological thing happening, I think both are sweet)
Sure, itward doesn't need to eat and I'm fairly certain he cant eat even if he wanted to.. but I think the activity itself would be enough for him!
Another favorite trope I love is when a character physically cannot eat at all and another character describes what it's like to them
I think that's another sweet idea to take into consideration when with itward; hes not jealous of the fact you can taste things but he loves listening to you talk
Imagine standing with itward on top of the flying machine after the baking portion of the date and looking up at the sky. The stars and the moon, and the clouds. Everything is just so pretty... but itward cant help but to look at your eyes.. getting lost in how they look in the moonlight
Oh if he could take a picture, he would, but alas his memory will have to do for tonight

Violinist Day 2022 - Letter 2 Analysis
This was originally posted on my old twitter account, but since I've privated that account I realized there is no way to access it anymore! So, I've compiled my entire 5 Page analysis below for you to enjoy here! Like before, I'll start with the TLDR first and put a read more below! I'm someone who loves Antonio a whole lot, so whenever this letter hit twitter originally I was... disappointed at the responses some people gave, to say at the least. (And, another warning, this is very long.)
TLDR;; The devil is not at all metaphorical and is real. Even if the devil in general media can be used as a symbol for things such as addiction and indulgence, he is less an active metaphor when Antonio’s addictions were something that happened prior to his deal. Additionally for Antonio's case the devil does not serve as a proper metaphor for addiction when the two times in text (before this letter) he has been presented to us, the devil had been helpful to getting Antonio out of the situations at hand. Antonio does have his indulgences, but they have very little to do with the situation at hand beyond brief context. To blame him for the addictions (and blame him for even having them) is demonizing addictions as a whole. While this does not take away the fact that Andrea still suffered some sort of trauma, we as the viewer are aware that what had happened was not Antonio– and even then Antonio himself is aware that he has hurt her even if it was not him actually doing it. Additionally, neither of them could have expected any sort of outcome as Antonio has never physically harmed anyone before when the demon possessed him in the past, so we cannot say that he should have known better. We also cannot say he should have known better for making the deal in the first place, as the deal was made during a point of his life where that was the only place he can turn to.
Starting off with the fact it's written on the back of a piece of sheet music, which is later established to be because he had written a piece in her name for her on the front of it. From here, I will bring up each section of the text I specifically am referring to.
This is the first we hear about Andrea. As she is a new introduction, she is not mentioned in any prior lore-- the only other women we know that Antonio is involved with is any of the one night stands alluded to in Deduction 2 and the Princess to the royal family he was priorly imprisoned by. We assume one of two things of Andrea:
The deduction ‘Seductive Tune’ is not actually about him having one night stands with different women and instead is an early iteration of his time with Andrea. I find this to be unlikely of the two options because the description of Seductive Tune makes a mention of “joy that was missing,” which aligns with his history of being partial to indulgent behaviors in order to obtain immediate satisfaction in the way his talent could not.
Or, the more likely of the answers, he found Andrea after his time with the royal family. He makes a mention that she is different from the other people he’s met, both upper and lower classes. She understands him like nobody else we’ve seen within his story, which must mean an awful lot to him as we know Antonio’s story tends to play with Toys/Puppet + Caged Bird motifs with how the world around him perceives him. This one is more probable than the first option.
He starts off mentioning there’s been some time they've last seen one another, which we will touch upon later down the line. Carrying onwards, we also learn that Andrea does not hear things the same as other people-- very likely that she is some degree of hard of hearing, given “grateful that the aria managed to overcome the barrier in your ears” and “unlike those with normal hearing.”
Andrea means a whole lot to Antonio, this is clear. Not only by how he starts off with “My dearest” and how he asks how she’s been during their time apart, but additionally in the lyrics he relays back to her in this letter. These lyrics show how much he truly adores her, whether he wrote them himself for her or if these were lyrics she sang to him once that he remembers. This is very reminiscent of Crescent Knight to me, in the way there is someone dear to him in his life that is now unobtainable to him. But that’s neither here nor there!
It’s incredibly important to note that Antonio here is not excusing himself. He is explaining things, being honest about himself and his past. It’s additionally important to know that Antonio has spoken about this to Andrea before, as he notes twice “as you know.” Which leads me to point out that Andrea had begged and pleaded for him to play the song he repeatedly told her he feared (“No matter how much … I would never…”); and that the song itself had already left them somewhere rocky ( “... or even threatened to break up with me, …”). He makes it expressly clear that he does not want to play the song, no matter how she pushes him to do it, because he knows that he should never.
We can assume that he has only played this song twice, as it’s instance is recorded twice in canon: once when he first made it in his desperate attempt to escape the royal family (to which it was the only thing he could turn to) and once more when he was forced to play it at the concert we see in his introduction video. However… he eventually gives in and plays it for her, but not without her having to ask him after he makes it clear he feared it. This is by no means to blame Andrea for anything that may have happened beyond this point. However, to properly understand everything that has happened we need to be aware that she had been asking him to play a piece he had repeatedly refused. He brings up indulgence because he is expressing that he has indulged by indulging himself in her wishes because of his love for her– not because he has relapsed back to any of his prior habits.
Now, I go back to bringing back the mention of the prior times Antonio has played the piece. The first time (seen in Antonio’s Letter #1), we are aware that he goes into a puppet-like state-- where the violin plays before him and he is pulled against the wall like a puppet. Nothing happens to the servant in question, nothing happens to the Court Maestro writing the letter. We can see something similar happen in Antonio’s Introduction video, where he just plays before the crowd whilst becoming the puppet for the devil his soul is tied to. Those two instances are helpful for Antonio– one to get him out of the royal family (who had practically kidnapped him) and the other to push forward and continue playing in concert to save his pride. There’s no reason to believe that something would have happened between the two of them, there’s no way either of them could have guessed.
While Andrea does not know, we as the viewers are very aware that Antonio is being truthful when he says that he was not himself. There are several canonical accounts in Antonio's lore that tells us that the devil in his backstory is real (and IDV did not write off all of it’s supernatural-- Luchino’s Professor to Reptilian’s existence is proof alone, alongside the other Eldritch Beings), and to refute it in order to “blame” him is absurd when there's nothing in canon that would even imply to us that the devil isn’t real. There is nothing in canon that would point to Antonio lying about the devil, and if you think so I recommend you read his deductions and first letter again to refresh yourself. The text is set in stone that he does have supernatural/demonic involvement.
This is not a matter of a relapse of addiction, this is a matter of possession by a supernatural being and the fact that Antonio is not himself. While he does bring up “seduced by the long-lost joy and pleasure of gambling in the Casino,” he does not mean this literally. As this letter takes place to recount one instance in time, I believe Antonio is speaking poetically and is comparing the way the possession feels to his prior experience gambling. He took the risk of playing the song for her, and that in itself is the gamble. There would be no reason for him to play the song and then just fuck off in the middle of it to go to a Casino, since this is recounting one set instance in time.
I previously brought up that in Antonio’s possession he has never really done anything directly to people, instead he just plays while the demon takes over him. As I have also (repeatedly) previously brought up, we as the viewer are aware that Antonio was Not Himself and anything happening under this moment was the devil. That being said, there’s two things that may have happened here:
In his possession, he frightens her-- it’s a horrifying thing to see someone you love become an almost entirely different person (because he, in this case, WAS an entirely different person) and she is too fear stricken to leave until he is out of possession. Antonio mentions “distant crying,” which implies that she was across the room from him rather than directly near him. He also describes the bow gradually swung down with inertia, rather than by his (or the devil using his) force. This would make sense as an option, given his prior behavior upon playing that song on the violin. When I first read the letter, I did genuinely think it was that he ended the song as he heard her cry and the slow fall (“gradually” , “inertia”) was him coming out of the possession and thus the bow hitting the ground in front of him.
However I cannot deny another possibility that aligns with the described behavior, which is the one most people have chosen to believe, that while under possession the devil may have used Antonio to strike Andrea. If this is the case, I do not believe he had done anything more than one strike. I do not believe he beat her as some people may have claimed, as the word beat over hit has severely different connotations– and it would have been detailed in the text instead of a vague horror. There is nothing that would imply further than that. However, I am more inclined to believe the first option over the second-- but again I will not and cannot deny this possibility.
However, there is no way to tell exactly what has happened, as Antonio was not conscious enough during the event to tell us. We simply know that he played the song, wound up possessed, and in the process Andrea ends up crying in a mess on the floor and it takes him out of the possession. Looking at it, after rereading the letter, to me it seems that Antonio has no idea what actually happened and is in horror at himself at the possibility of different things that could have happened. This is a one off instance rather than an occurring instance given his prior possessions have never hurt anybody. Once again, he could not have known any better. We cannot say for sure what he did or did not do, and this will likely stay this way. Identity V likes to be incredibly vague, and when they want something to be obvious they will be obvious about it. It's why the media is so full of unreliable narration... because they want us to do the work and piece it together. We're the detectives after all!
Now, it is important to note that: even though his actions were not his own, this still has an effect on Andrea. It is equally important that I state, again, that I am not blaming Andrea for anything that has happened. We as the viewer know it is not him, but she does not– and Antonio is aware that she does not, which is why he takes the time to explain it. What happens between them is still understandably hurtful and terrifying, but through the lens of the viewer we need to be aware that Antonio shows remorse and regret. The second he recognizes what has happened, he is terrified in what his image had been used to do, whether if it was to strike her or if it was just him scaring her. This carries on in the next set of lines.
He calls back to “the sunlight, the moonlight, the starlight” as a way to prove how much he cares for her and how much she means to him. Additionally, he is aware that he cannot fix what has been done, and he is aware that in her mind it is him who had scared her off/hurt her. It is important to note: he is not asking for forgiveness, he is apologizing. He is acknowledging how this has affected her.
Calling back to the beginning of the document, it has been months since they have last spoken. He is looking for her, not just for closure and to apologize but because she has gone missing.
Given how we know he becomes a hunter, whoever speaks to him about getting rid of his possession was lying to him. <3 But it’s important to note that Antonio arrives at the manor in order to find Andrea again and he is aware he is taking a risk. He writes her this note, in the hopes that she will see it, as a way to prove to her that he is changing for the better and as a way to go out of his way to change for her likely so he cannot bring her, or anyone else, harm again.
Basically, the most we need to point out here is that he is still in love with her+ he feels remorse+ he’s going out of his way to risk everything just to change and reverse his errors + this will fail him.
If you read all of this, hope you enjoyed! :)

🥀 Subayui fanfic 🥀
Pairing: Subaru🗡️ and Yui🌸
Author: Admin Ava
Genre: Smut, NFSW, Sexual Themes
Chapter: 1
Warning: ⚠️ This fanfic includes NSFW please read at your risk and if you are uncomfortable with the themes of this story then I recommend you read more of the light hearted ones we have created. ⚠️
🌹 ~ Sweet Rose~ 🌹
Since she was a small child, Yui was raised in the conservative ways of the church. She had been taught how to conduct herself as a young lady from what she wear, how she spoke, and what was deemed appropriate for a girl such as herself. Yui's father made sure that she always followed the rules and never acted out in an unruly manner.
He was strict but she respected him for that. She didn’t mind following the rules if it would make him happy. Even if sometimes she didn’t want to. She dress modestly not showing any skin unless it was warm, spoke softly to everyone, especially her elders, always said please and thank, and made sure that she wasn’t involved in any solicited activities until she was married.
That last part was always the furthest thing from her mind. She wasn’t even taught about that kind of stuff until she was 15. Even then she was only given the bare minimum and had to pray afterward. The only physical touches she already knew were kissing and hugging. So, with that in mind, how would you think she would react when one night she woke up in a cold sweat, just waking up from her very first wet dream?
The night was like any other. A disastrous dinner that was quickly ended by Reiji yelling at everyone to go rooms. Of course, no one listened. So then he say he would threaten everyone's allowance if they didn’t comply. Which caused everyone to immediately rush to their rooms without a moment to spare.
Yui used the extra time to study for a mathematics quiz on Monday. That’s when her problems started. Normally studying would be easy, especially since everyone was bound to their rooms. No distractions meant that getting work done would go a lot faster. However, oddly enough she couldn’t get herself to focus. As she took in her workbook, it wasn’t like anything made sense to her. More like the moment she started on one question, her mind kept going back to this morning. She buried her head in her hands trying not to go back to what had happened but it wasn’t that easy.
That morning she and the triples had gym class. Today was basketball and they would be having a match against the first years. Coincidentally they were up against Subaru's class which got Ayato excited. Only 7 people for each round and it was boys vs boys and girls vs girls. She and Kanato sat out for the first round so she watched as Subaru and Ayato tried to one-up each other on the court.
Like everyone else, she should’ve been routing for Ayato, but Subaru was the one who caught her attention. And by caught she meant completely enraptured in him. Yui notice just how tall he was compared to Ayato. Thanks to the length of his arms he was able to block all of his older brother’s shots and was even able to dunk on him a few times. Subaru was also stronger than him so knocking the ball out of Ayato’s hands was Childs's play for the youngest sibling.
Yui was mesmerized by him, she didn't even know that he was that good. She might even say that he was better than Ayato. In the last courtier of the game, Subaru grabbed the ball from a second year, sprinting towards the net where Ayato was waiting to block him from making his shot. But then Subaru jumped in the air and scored a dunk right on Ayato's head. Winning the first round for the first years.
Yui face lit up in amazement. Her eyes followed Subaru as he left the court and sat down on a bench that was only a bit away from her. He grabbed water from his bag and gulped it down. Yui watched as a drop glided down his face onto his strong neck, his Addams apple bobbing up and down with each sip. After his last sip, he put his bottle away. Subaru then lifted part of his shirt to wipe the sweat off his face, which in turn gave Yui a nice look at his abs.
She immediately turned away in embarrassment, shielding her eyes from his god-like body. Wait what? No no no that’s not what she just thought right now. She looked over again and still saw him wiping her face which made her turn her head once again. No! No! No! She is not a pervert she thought. She wouldn’t look at his face, or his strong forearm, or his large hands that were so much bigger than her, or his- “Wait stop!” Her face was a beating bright red. Her whole body felt hot and she didn’t know why. Maybe she was just sick? Yeah, that must be the case! She’s probably just isn’t feeling well because of her anemia. Her low blood pressure was the reason she was feeling this way. What else could’ve made her this humid when she hadn’t even done anything?
Yui shook her head at the memory. Even after class was over she couldn’t get him out of her head. Even after the ride home from school, she couldn’t even look at him without her face becoming a tomato. Laito even pointed out how flustered she looked and his pointing it out only made her blush more!
Yui rubbed her face roughly trying to get rid of the red stain on her cheeks that looked almost permanent. Maybe a bath and sleep would fix her. There was no use in studying anymore anyway. Especially if she couldn’t focus properly. Yui closed her workbook, grabbed some pajamas, and headed towards the bathroom for a hopefully, soothing bath.
Later once she was done with her bath, which wasn’t as relaxing as she hoped it was. Yui lay on her bed looking up at the ceiling. Her mind still reeling with imagines of Subaru from this morning. No matter what she did nothing made it go away. She frustratedly grabbed a smushed pillow in her face and let out a muffled scream while flailing her limbs. She was tired, frustrated, and confused about what was wrong with her. Yui let out a sigh. She pulled her pink comforter over her head and tried her best to get some kind of rest to forget about the day she just had.
The dream :
Subaru heard a soft knock on his door while he was in the middle of setting up his room for his date. He brushed his soft curly locks out of his face and open the door. On the other side was Yui with a game in her small hands. Her usually long ruffly pink nightgown was replaced with a form-fitting pink and white stripe dress that was just a bit below her thighs.
Her curly blonde tresses were pulled into two low pigtails with a few strains on the side that nicely framed her small face. Subaru took her much smaller hand into his much larger one before leading her to a small area of his room where he had set up a small screen surrounded by food, beverages, pillows, and blankets.
He had come up with the idea and since no one was home today, they had the manor all to themselves. Subaru took the game that Yui was holding out of her hand and wrapped one arm around her tiny waist. Pulling their bodies together. Subaru brushed part of Yui's hair out of her face and lean in close to her ear. “Heh, didn’t know you had something else besides that other gown. You should wear this one more often, makes you look even cuter.” Subaru whispered lowly in her ear, making sure to give her a small nibble before moving away.
Yui giggled at his actions, her cheeks lightly blushing pink as she looked at him with passionate eyes.”Haha, I just bought it for today. I’m glad you like it Subaru-kun. You look nice too.” The look in their eyes was hot. Both of them drank in the other's appearance, not taking their hands off each other for even a moment.
Subaru lifted Yui a bit before setting her gently on his lap. She looked away while biting her lip. Not wanting Subaru to see just how flustered she was. But of course, Subaru wouldn’t let her hide that cute face from him for long. He lifted her chin with his finger and pulled her close to him. “What got a problem with sitting on your boyfriend's lap? Are so shy that you can’t even look me in the face properly?” Yui turned her head again but Subaru was persistent.
“Yui~ Yui look at me. Stop hiding that precious face of yours. Come on, won't you let me see your pretty face? Yui~ My princess~ You keep hiding your face like that, then I’ll just have to make you look at me.” Subaru lips turned into a grin as he pulled her closer to him. He went to her neck, below cold air on it which made her squirm a little on his lap. But she still didn’t look at him.
He smirked-alright then- he thought “let’s try something more intense~” Subaru drew his lips up and down her pale neck. Yui gasped as his lips found a sensitive part of the nape of her neck. She tightly gripped the black sweater he was wearing to try and steady herself. However, it only wanted to make Subaru tease her more so he could see what adorable expression she must have been wearing.
“Oh? Looks like I found someone’s weakness~ Such a pretty neck you have. It’s so soft and warm~ Like it’s begging to be messed with. Don’t you think it would look so pretty with a few marks on it?” He pressed his lips gently against her. “Especially if,” Subaru's voice dropped “They were bite marks.” Yui let out a squeak, then a soft moan as Subaru's sharp fangs sank deeply into her neck. Normally his bites would hurt a bit but this time, they felt so good that she could barely think.
“S-Subaru-kun! Please not there… it's t-to much!” Yui could barely get out words from how intense the pleasure was. And Subaru loved it. He loved the little moans and squeals that passed through her soft lips. He loved how tightly she gripped him. And he loved the effect he had on her body. But what he loved the most was her hot syrupy blood that coated his throat and warmed up his body. Every sip left him wanting more and more.
His ruby-red eyes were glossed with a heavy lust as he looked at her. Her pink jeweled eyes looked at him the same. “This blood…Haah… it drives me insane. Even after having so much…I crave more~ I want to suck you dry. Until the only thing your body will feel is my fangs. You want that..don’t you? For me to put you in such as state of bliss that the only thing that matters is the two of us? You don’t want me to gentle either right…you enjoy it when I’m rough to you. That’s what you want right, Yui~” Yui nodded slowly. Her breathing was heavy and could barely even think.
All she knew was that her body craved more. She had been seduced by him and desperately wanted to feel his fangs in her aching neck. Subaru lifted his face closer to hers, sucking in a harsh breath as he examined her face. It was like she was begging to be devoured by him. He ran his thumb across her lips before putting hers against his. The kiss was hot in an instant. Both of them refuse to let go of the other. Subaru's hands slid up her dress wanting to pull it off. That’s it happened.
End of the dream
“AHHHH!” Yui suddenly woke up in a cold sweat! Her breathing was heavy and her entire body was hot. “W-What just h-h-happened?!”

I have a headcanon that Yuuji has a learning disorder, I based it off how he seemed to think of himself as dumb or is seen as not smart. But then I saw him needing to use his hand to count to five, the scene didn't feel much like a joke and since I have a significant math impairment learning disability I adored it, I also theorize that sorcerers who have certain types of learning and sensory processing disabilities really really struggle. Like Imagine a sorcerer with a dyscalculia from the Gojo clan where the understanding in order to use the cursed technique is heavily physics based.
That might very well be. Counting off events with your fingers isn't that uncommon, but in his case it did seem like he was thinking more about the numbers. I actually only started really paying attention to it, after I saw people making fun of him for it. I also have dyscalculia and counted with fingers until the end of high school. Now I technically still do, I just imagine the hand in my head. Yuuji isn't stupid or even slower on the uptake, he just processes information differently and has different ways of learning. And it's not even that extreme or noticeable in his case, not like Naruto and his clear ADHD and possibly also dyslexia symptoms. Some things just need to be explained slightly differently to him. There's nothing he particularly struggles much with, he actually learns very fast. He just lacks experience and since he doesn't seem to like science subjects (especially molecular science), there might also be dyscalculia involved.
I think dyscalculia wouldn't even necessarily affect Limitless all that much, since it seems more based on intuition and awareness of the world around you than active calculation. Gojo (and Gege in the volume notes) uses math to explain it, but you don't have to. Space gets infinitely smaller without ever disappearing. Objects around Gojo get categorized by weight and size, which at least to me seems much more tactile than an theoretic calculation of distances between objects. Pulling or pushing objects also seems more of a skill issue and thinking about it too theoretically with all the science that goes into it would only make it more difficult. Although I guess it depends on how your dyscalculia manifests and how much support you get early on. I have relatively little problem with directions or shapes, but I think that's mainly because of the special ed classes I took as a child that gave me guidelines on how to navigate these things. Judging distances is still hard, but I can catch or avoid objects flying at me without problem, which I think is more difficult in severer cases of dyscalculia(?). I also always had an easier time with "abstract" math and physics than "tangible" stuff. Like calculating mass with the formula or percentage calculation is something I could never grasp even now, but nuclear physics, astronomy or vector analysis was always pretty easy. So that's just my understanding, might be different for you or others with dyscalculia.
Sensory processing disabilities are were it would get really difficult for sorcerers to adapt, since for example getting overwhelmed by noises or lights would make you an easy target for others. However, I think in that case it could be that your CT is actually an aid. Even if it's an inherent one, it might manifest in a way that would help you deal with over- or under-responsivity. Especially something like Blood Manipulation, which is already connected to the basic functions of your body.

Hi
I am going uni this year and I am planning to major in Physics and minor in Astronomy. I've always been fascinated by stars and the Universe but I never got to learn it deeply. Do you have any advice for me?
I can ramble quite a bit about advice, so I'll do my best to organize this in a way that makes sense. And of course note that this is from my personal experience, so feel free to ignore something if it doesn't appeal to you. (I'm writing this as a physics grad student based in the US studying cosmology.)
A major in physics is more malleable than pure astronomy, and there are a few route that you can explore further, depending on what you find interesting. The following few points don't include any specific things to do, but it will be good to keep mind as you go through your classes.
Theory: Do you love the mathematical side of physics? Do you love working through proofs, and using the tools of math in creative ways? Theory is one route with most things in physics, and typically requires grad school, and staying in academia to research. Theory is held up to high standards and so is rarely funded with few positions.
Experimental: Do you enjoy the technical side of things, like building your experiments in labs or using a telescope? Experimental physics and astronomy is very hands-on, and this has both academic and technical routes after college.
Computational: Do you like programming? In physics and especially astronomy you need computers to analyze the data that you are taking in bulk. There's a lot of data science in both areas, and is good to learn if you'd like to go into industry instead of staying in academia. (Academia in physics is awful for learning technical computing skills, but there are ways to get there, one of which I accidentally stumbled onto.)
I can go into general advice for the classes you'll likely be taking. A simple search online can give you an overwhelming amount of tips, but I'll try to condense the ones I felt were most helpful here.
Ask for help when you need it! Whether this is working with your classmates, getting tutoring, or going to professor's office hours, don't feel obligated to bash your head against the wall when you are stuck. While it is a skill to take the time to understand something, your time is also valuable, and you will benefit from learning from others.
Practice. Typically in undergrad, doing homework sets is the best way to get practice learning new material. I'd suggest finding more problems if you feel you still need more practice, and working through those problems with others as mentioned above to get a better handle on the topic.
Find ways to get involved in your department. I hate to say networking because it's an annoying buzzword, but it's still important. See if you can find a job in the department, like tutoring, or if you're lucky like I was, your school may have a campus observatory for you to get hands-on experience with. Otherwise, take on rolls in any physics club, like Society of Physics Students or something similar. This way you can get to know the older students, and show that you're active in the department.
Keep a lookout for research opportunities and/or internships. This is how you 1) explore your interests and 2) get experience for your goals after you graduate. Usually you need some letters of recommendation, which you can ask from professors that know you (best option) or other managers if you have a job.
If linear algebra and differential equations are offered, take them! They should be required, but if not, make room for them.
Asa general note, keep track of your general well-being when you're studying physics and astronomy. It's not an easy topic, but it's a matter of hard work rather than pure talent. If you feel lost, it's okay. Everyone feels that eventually, and it's usually at different points of time. Have faith that you can learn the material, either now or later when you have had more time to digest it.
In any case, I hope this helps, and I hope you have fun!

Taylor Pukanich - 3rd Year Bachelor of Arts, Criminology
Taylor Pukanich (she/her) is in her third year, studying criminology and working towards the Community Service-Learning certificate.
Why did you decide to take your first CSL course?
I started taking my first CSL course after a friend recommended it to me. I was in my first year and I was unsure of what classes I wanted to take. Throughout middle and high school, I was involved in the community and school, often connecting the two so I wondered what it would be like to take a community service class in an academic setting. That’s why I enrolled in CSL 100.
Why did you choose to pursue the CSL certificate?
After I found out about the certificate, I thought about the hands-on experience I would gain and also how this certificate would help me in my criminology studies.
It sounded like a great opportunity, especially since it's already embedded into my degree. I thoroughly enjoyed CSL 100 and since then, I haven't stopped taking CSL classes.
What CSL placements have you completed so far?
In CSL 100, I coordinated the Alberta Basketball Provincials, which allowed me to merge my love for basketball with community engagement. I also completed a placement in EDU 100, volunteering with an organization called Free Play. Free Play provides free after-school programming focused on physical activity and teaching sportsmanship to elementary school children. For my CSL certificate, I completed a non-credit placement with the Youth Restorative Action Project (YRAP), a restorative justice organization that directly relates to my criminology studies. Each of these placements offered hands-on experiences that enriched my understanding and helped me connect academics to real-world applications.
What was your experience with YRAP? How did it tie into your criminology studies?
I discovered YRAP while taking CSL 100 and reached out to them directly to volunteer. I worked with YRAP for about a year before realizing I could complete my placement hours there for a non-credit opportunity towards my CSL certificate. YRAP was an incredible experience—it’s a restorative justice organization focused on supporting youth and steering them away from the criminal justice system. Being part of such an initiative expanded my understanding of justice and community support, directly aligning with my criminology studies and giving me insight into practical applications of my degree.
Could you tell us more about the Alberta Basketball Provincials placement?
The Alberta Basketball Provincials placement was especially meaningful because it combined my passion for basketball with community service. Growing up, I played and coached basketball, so returning in a volunteer capacity felt like coming full circle. The role allowed me to contribute to a familiar community while also enjoying an activity I love. I didn’t anticipate that CSL placements would align so well with my interests outside of academics, so this experience pleasantly surprised me. It was immersive, fast-paced, and truly rewarding.
What was your favorite CSL placement and why?
My favorite CSL placement was with YRAP because of the hands-on experience it offered. I served on several of their weekly panels where I participated in decision-making processes regarding youth charges, which was an unexpected opportunity for someone still in school. It allowed me to step into a role that felt both impactful and directly tied to my career goals. The Alberta Basketball Provincials was another memorable experience, especially because I completed all my hours over three intense days, immersing myself completely in the event. Both placements, though different, offered unique insights and were incredibly fulfilling.
How has CSL influenced the way you think about things?
CSL has broadened my perspective and opened my eyes to different fields and approaches within community service. For example, when I took Education 100, I was the only student in the class not pursuing an education degree. This unique position allowed me to introduce first-year education students to CSL, which many didn’t realize was embedded into the course. It showed me how CSL connects people from diverse fields and backgrounds, fostering mutual learning. I’ve also learned about the range of placements available through CSL, which helped me appreciate the diversity of community service opportunities that universities can offer.
What important lesson have you learned from your CSL experiences?
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of actively listening to community partners and students I work with. They often teach me things about myself and the world that I didn’t expect to learn. By fully engaging in each placement, I’ve realized that there’s so much more to gain from the experience than just completing hours or assignments. It’s about understanding the needs of others and how best to support them, which has been both a humbling and rewarding journey.
How has CSL helped you with your career or future endeavors?
CSL has allowed me to form meaningful relationships with fellow criminology and CSL students, as well as community partners. One of the biggest advantages of CSL is that it connects you with organizations that need support, which can often be challenging to find on your own. For example, I wouldn’t have discovered YRAP without CSL, and now I’ve been volunteering with them for nearly two years. These placements make it easier to apply what I learn in my classes to real-world situations, bridging academic theory and practice. CSL has given me a solid foundation to continue in community-focused work and deepened my commitment to my field.
How would you sum up your experience with CSL in one sentence?
CSL has allowed my passions to evolve into purpose, creating incredible hands-on learning experiences.

Guiding Your Child to Greatness: Tips for Uncovering Hidden Skills
Every child possesses unique talents and abilities, but sometimes these hidden gems need a little guidance and nurturing to truly shine. As a parent, you play a pivotal role in helping your child discover their strengths, passions, and skills. While there’s no set roadmap to uncovering these talents, there are several strategies you can use to support your child’s journey to greatness.
Here are some essential tips to help uncover and develop your child’s hidden skills:

1. Encourage Exploration and Curiosity
Children are naturally curious, and this curiosity often leads them to activities that align with their inherent talents. Allow your child to explore a wide range of activities, whether it’s sports, music, art, or science experiments. By encouraging exploration, you give them the freedom to find what excites and engages them most.
Tip: Take note of the activities that your child spends the most time on or enjoys the most. These could be clues to where their natural interests and abilities lie.
2. Observe Their Interests and Strengths
Sometimes, the key to uncovering a child's hidden talents is simply through careful observation. Pay attention to what they are naturally drawn to. Do they love drawing for hours? Are they fascinated by how things work? Watching their behaviour and interests closely can reveal potential strengths and areas where they may excel.
Tip: Ask questions like, “What do you enjoy doing the most?” or “What would you do if you had all day to yourself?” These open-ended questions can provide meaningful insights into what excites them.
3. Provide Diverse Experiences
Exposing your child to different environments, hobbies, and learning opportunities can help them discover what they’re truly good at. This might include enrolling them in different types of classes (music, sports, dance, coding, etc.), taking them to museums, or involving them in outdoor activities. The more experiences they have, the greater the chance they’ll find something they’re naturally good at.
Tip: Make sure the experiences are enjoyable rather than overwhelming. Let them choose what they want to try, rather than forcing them into activities they aren’t interested in.
4. Foster a Growth Mindset
Teaching your child to have a growth mindset—that talents can be developed with time, effort, and dedication—helps them stay open to new challenges. Encourage them to embrace learning and persistence. This mindset not only helps in uncovering talents but also builds resilience and a positive attitude toward challenges.
Tip: Praise their efforts rather than focusing solely on outcomes. Statements like, “I’m proud of how hard you worked on that,” can motivate them to keep trying new things, regardless of initial results.

5. Allow Space for Failure and Growth
Success is rarely achieved without a few failures along the way. Encourage your child to embrace mistakes as learning opportunities. Sometimes, skills are uncovered when a child pushes through difficulties and develops problem-solving abilities. If a child is afraid of failure, they may be hesitant to try new things.
Tip: Create an environment where failure is seen as part of the learning process, not something to be feared. Encourage them to give it another try if they don't succeed on their first attempt.
6. Limit Screen Time and Encourage Hands-On Activities
In today’s digital age, children can get lost in screens, which may limit their opportunities to discover physical, social, or creative talents. While some online activities can be educational, too much screen time can dampen their natural curiosity for real-world experiences.
Tip: Set boundaries for screen time and encourage hands-on activities like crafting, playing an instrument, building with blocks, or engaging in outdoor play. These activities help stimulate creativity and critical thinking.
7. Support Their Passion Without Pressure
Once your child starts showing a particular interest in an activity, it’s important to support them without overwhelming them with expectations. Pushing them too hard to excel may lead to burnout or loss of interest. Instead, focus on helping them enjoy the process and growth that comes with practice.
Tip: Celebrate small milestones and encourage them to set personal goals. Keep the focus on joy and personal growth rather than winning or being the best.

8. Encourage Social Interaction and Teamwork
Some talents, especially in areas like leadership, collaboration, or empathy, are developed through interaction with others. Team activities such as group sports, drama, or community service can help your child learn new skills and discover strengths in areas like communication or problem-solving.
Tip: Encourage them to participate in group activities and see how they interact with others. Their ability to lead, support, or collaborate can offer clues about talents that emerge in social settings.
9. Create a Supportive and Loving Environment
Children thrive in environments where they feel safe, supported, and loved. Creating a home where they are encouraged to express themselves freely without fear of judgment can help them explore their abilities. When children feel confident and secure, they are more likely to take the risks necessary to uncover their hidden talents.
Tip: Be their biggest cheerleader! Show interest in their activities, ask questions about their experiences, and offer guidance when they need it.
10. Be Patient and Open-Minded
Finding and developing a child’s talents doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a journey of trial and error, exploration, and growth. Be patient and give your child the time and space to figure out what they love and what they’re good at. Remember, their talents may evolve over time, so be open to their changing interests.
Tip: Regularly check in with your child about their hobbies and interests. What excites them today may shift as they grow older, and that’s perfectly normal!

Conclusion
Every child is unique, and discovering their hidden talents is a process of exploration, patience, and support. By providing diverse experiences, encouraging curiosity, and creating a nurturing environment, you can help guide your child toward greatness. The key is to foster a love for learning, embrace their individuality, and celebrate their progress—whatever path they choose.

Choosing Your Craft: Embroidery vs. Knitting – Which Is Right for You?
Crafting as a hobby has surged in popularity over recent years, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the joy of creating something beautiful and functional with their own hands. Among the myriad crafting options available, embroidery and knitting stand out as two of the most cherished and accessible activities. Both offer unique avenues for expression and relaxation, but each comes with its own set of skills, tools, and outcomes. This introduction aims to delve into these two crafts, comparing and contrasting them to help you decide which might be the right fit for your creative endeavors.
Understanding Embroidery
Embroidery is the art of decorating fabric or other materials using a needle and thread or yarn. This ancient craft can also incorporate other materials such as pearls, beads, quills, and sequins to create intricate and vibrant designs. For beginners, the basic tools required are relatively simple: embroidery hoops, needles, embroidery floss, and fabric. Starting projects often include things like monogrammed handkerchiefs, decorative pillowcases, or embellished clothing, which provide a hands-on way to learn various stitches and techniques. The patterns can range from simple to complex, offering something for every skill level.
Exploring Knitting
Knitting, on the other hand, involves making loops of yarn in a line or tube using knitting needles or a knitting machine. This craft is not just about producing warm garments like scarves, hats, and sweaters; it's also a way of crafting a wide range of decorative and practical items. Beginners will need a set of knitting needles, yarn, and perhaps a few patterns to start with. Unlike embroidery, knitting can be more forgiving with mistakes and easier to correct, which might be encouraging for those just starting out.
Comparative Analysis: Embroidery vs. Knitting
When it comes to learning each skill, embroidery can be both simpler and more complex depending on the project. Basic stitches like the running stitch or backstitch can be learned quickly, but mastering more intricate techniques may take more time. Knitting, with its foundational knit and purl stitches, can be picked up in an afternoon, but developing speed and handling more complex patterns like cables or colorwork requires practice and patience.
The time investment for mastering these crafts varies widely based on individual dexterity and the complexity of chosen projects. Embroidery can be picked up and put down easily, making it ideal for those who may not have long stretches of time to dedicate to their hobby. Knitting projects, particularly larger ones, can require more consistent time investment to see progress.
In terms of versatility and usability, both crafts offer a wide range of possibilities. Embroidered items can add a personal touch to everyday objects and gifts, while knitted items can range from practical garments to cozy home decor.
Benefits of Each Craft
Embroidery offers emotional and mental benefits such as stress relief, increased mindfulness, and a sense of accomplishment when completing a design. The focused nature of stitching can also serve as a meditative practice, helping to calm the mind and reduce anxiety.
Knitting has been known to offer physical benefits, including improved fine motor skills and, according to some studies, a reduction in chronic pain. The repetitive motion of knitting can induce a relaxed state similar to that achieved through meditation and yoga.
How to Choose What's Best for You
Choosing between embroidery and knitting often comes down to personal preference and lifestyle considerations. Factors such as the ease of picking up the craft, the costs involved in acquiring materials, and the type of projects that interest you should all be considered. It may also be helpful to try both crafts on a small scale before committing to one. Many craft stores offer classes that can give a taste of each, providing a hands-on experience that might make your decision easier.
Conclusion
Both embroidery and knitting offer unique benefits and challenges, making them wonderful hobbies to pursue. Whether you choose the detailed artistry of embroidery or the cozy creations of knitting, each craft provides a rewarding and relaxing way to spend your time and express your creativity.
