Relativity Falls AU
[Part 1] [Part 2] Part 3 [Part 4]
Two months after Pacifica runs away from Dipper and the portal project, Mabel appears at Dipper’s house. She’s gotten really concerned, because her idiot brother has stopped responding to any letters, stopped picking up phone calls, stopped publishing articles, and has more or less completely dropped off the goddamn map.
So she arrives in Gravity Falls, locates her brother after a waitress mentions the “weird smelly researcher living in a hut in the woods,” and nearly takes out his front door with her knocking before he finally answers the door.
He is holding a gun.
Mabel is unimpressed.
She tells him to cut the shit and answer her already, what the hell is going on, why has he not been answering her letters, why is he living in a shack in the woods in Oregon, has he showered in the past two weeks?
Unfortunately for Mabel, Dipper is not in the right state to answer her questions reasonably, because he has well and truly lost his goddamn mind after Pacifica left him. Hosting Bill has been horrible for his mental state - Bill hasn’t been even a little bit gentle with his brain, even less so than he was with Ford in Canon Falls, and Dipper is Feeling It.
After Pacifica left, Dipper has been running on dwindling money, materials, and equipment. He’s at his limit. Bill is pushing him past it.
In response to Mabel’s reasonable questions, i.e “wtf is going on with you”, Dipper goes I’M UNCOVERING THE SECRETS TO THE UNIVERSE while waving his gun around and making a lot of concerning facial expressions. It’s concerning. Mabel is concerned. She does manage to take his gun away, though.
Mabel and Dipper have an argument, the main points of which can be boiled down to:
Mabel, freaked out: Dipper, I think you might be actually genuinely insane right now. Please go take a bath, you smell horrible. Dipper, eyes bloodshot, waving his hands around: I NEED TO BUILD A PORTAL TO ANOTHER DIMENSION FOR THE GLORY OF THE TRIANGLE AND TO PROPEL MYSELF INTO FAME AND FORTUNE [Dipper drags Mabel downstairs into his basement and triumphantly shows her the newly-finished portal] Mabel, was not expecting an actual literal fucking portal: What the hell is GOING ON with you Dipper, suddenly furious: You wouldn’t understand, you always were the more popular twin, you’re the successful famous rich amazing popular etc etc tw
(Mabel internal dialogue: exCUSE ME?)
Mabel's like, pretty sure that her brother is actually going insane, but he's still saying some really hurtful things, enough so that she starts to get pissed at him.
Mabel notices that Dipper has been holding onto a journal (...the journal she made for him?) this entire time, so she yanks it out of his hands and tells him that he's coming upstairs right now, he's eating a goddamn meal and drinking a glass of Mabel Juice and getting ten hours of sleep and then after that, maybe, they can have a reasonable and adult discussion about whatever the hell is going on with him.
Dipper says something Very Sane and Comprehensible, at a Reasonable Tone and Pitch, at the thought of sleeping for so long (THE DEMON). Then he lunges for the journal.
They... fight. There's a huge commotion. Dipper is screaming.
(For the first time, Mabel is scared, not for, but of her brother.)
Levers get pulled. Mabel's arm gets scorched when Dipper pushes her into a hot rune. She shrieks. His eyes momentarily clear, and he says "Oh god, Mabel, what have I-"
She kicks him off of her.
Dipper goes through the portal. The portal screeches to a close.
Mabel sits in the basement, burned, clutching her brother’s journal, and begins to panic.

I just imagine the ANGER that reader has when dipper & mabel becomes distraction
The twins are arguing with each other and reader just calmly said "what if just volunteer myself with the memory gun i mean i also know the equation" then they said something hurtful calmly that make the twins realize how their action put a nail into the coffin of their niece & nephew
When they got back and want to make a deal with bill but he didn't believe them but then reader said "you can't possibly got in his head with that metal plate of his" (they say something like that) bill wasn't angry but more like entertaint and make a deal with them, reader just wants no harm comes to the kids and town people's after they give him the equation and when asked abt the stan twins they just don't care
You didn’t care what happened to yourself, you really didn’t but what you weren’t about to do was let Mabel answer dipper become distractions.
You refused. So while Stan and Ford were bickering, again, you whistled sharply, which got the two older men to stop their argument to look over at you.
‘How about instead of using your own flesh and blood and possibly getting them killed due to your negligence and let me to make the deal with bill instead, you’re not the only one who knows the equation Ford so you can drop the hero complex.’ You snapped and it silenced the entire Pines Family when they realised you were right.
‘Are you sure about-‘
‘I am very certain Stanford.’ You cut Ford off and his face was full of hurt but begrudging acceptance, he knew that once your mind was made up nothing else mattered.
‘Hey let’s at least-‘
‘I don’t care about what the next words to leave your mouth are Stanley!’ You hissed, making him take a step back. ‘What I’m not about to do is put those two kids in danger like you two, it’s almost like you forget they are kids at the end of the day with parents waiting for them back home.’ You reminded the pair as they looked at Dipper and Mabel who were gripping onto you tightly, pleading with you to not make the deal with Bill.
Ford sighed. ‘Fine, if this is what you want to do.’ He trails off.
‘It is.’ You said with a newfound strength. ‘Since It seems like I’m the only one who gives a fuck about Gravity Falls and the people in it.’ You added but left Ford and Stan with the twins before they had the urge to further push you on that statement.
When you finally confront Bill, who was obviously waiting for Stanford, you could see him visibly deflate and couldn’t help but scoff. ‘Oh come on Bill I’m not that bad.’
Bill chuckles. ‘Sure you might not be but no offence, I was expecting fordsy, not his assistant- or should I say former assistant.’ Your jaw clenched, bill sure knew how to put salt in the wound but still you pressed on, for dipper and Mabel and the weird but lovable townsfolk of Gravity Falls; your true family.
‘Sorry to disappoint but with that metal plate in his head, there’s no chance you would’ve made it even close to the equation.’ You fake winced as you saw the annoyance flicker in Bill’s one eye. ‘Sorry but I’m the closest to the next best thing for you.’ You add with a shrug, fully accepting what was going to happen to you as you didn’t have any one of worth to mourn you nor your memories.
‘Ugh if I have to since option one was unavailable,’ Bill drawled as he held out his hand, not bothering to look at you, ‘is there any boring thing you want to say now in your final act of heroism fleshbag?’ He asks.
‘For you to leave dipper, Mabel and the citizens of Gravity Falls alone, they’ve been through enough as it is.’ You tell him, watching as the blue flames flicker and lick at his hand. Bill blinked at you, having where this stereotypical speech one too many times in his long, long, long life, ‘anything else, or rather anyone else?’
You knew who he was suggesting but all you said in regards to Stan and Ford was; ‘kill them, torture them, make them into your personally puppets whatever, I honestly don’t care.’
Bill’s eye widened. ‘Oh now this is interesting! You’re becoming interesting to me now fleshbag! I haven’t heard such venom towards another fellow fleshbag in so long! Deal!’ He exclaims as he grabs your hand, cementing the finality of your deal, how naive the dream demon was to not see the trap he had walked into by doing so.

𝐢 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞
in which the pine tree and llama are the epitome of soulmates (continued) w/c: 10.6k words *not proofread* (actually 2 words shy of 10.6k, but hey, who's counting? masterpost
once winter had its fun, spring rolls around, and so does that one day that everyone either looks forward to or is dreading with past trauma.
for mabel and dipper, they are one of both outcomes; respectively.
it was so uncharacteristic of mabel to not be excited over a holiday that spreads so much joy and love—regardless if it's platonic, familial, or romantic. as for dipper, he was never really much for luck in that department (love, that is), though not as sociable, let alone well known as his sister, he is very much content with being alone for the most part—especially knowing, deep down, he is grateful to have a family who loves him.
however, dipper felt that this year would be different. he didn't know why, couldn't put a finger on it, but he noticed that something would be stand out amongst the other years as the boy realizes that is isn't as disgusted with valentine's day as he commonly was before.
"duh—it's obvious why you're thinking about that, bro-bro."
"huh? oh, it's because we're technically teenagers and we're at that embarrassing phase in our life where romantic pursuits are more irrational and desperate to compensate for our lack of self-confidence?"
mabel rolls her eyes before answering.
"no, it's because you have a cru~sh! and you just can't wait to call her on valentine's day~"
"what?! that's—"
"don't worry, because being the matchmaker that i am, with the resume of skilled expertise, i can proudly say that i—mabel pines—will get you the valentine's date of your dreams!"
"but—"
"you can't say no, it's already happening."
"no."
"ALREADY HAPPENING!'
given it was already the first of february, it was going to take mabel less than two weeks to pull this off; presuming that she could, that is.
so, on that wednesday night, dipper lies awake at night, thinking about that special someone, despite fighting his feelings for so long. he doesn't want to admit it out loud, but dipper knew, subconsciously, that his sister indeed saw through him, and he is crushing on someone; bad and hard.
the first time dipper had ever lied awake at night, it was about wendy corduroy, the girl he ever seriously crushed on. though, as time passed after his confession, he stopped thinking about her that way. it look him time, fighting all those thoughts during the day while they continued their friendship, and many nights as she remained in his dreams; if he wasn't dreaming about his parents, that is.
however, when dipper lies awake this night, he isn't thinking about wendy. not at all. on the contrary, he's up all night, thinking of another girl—one he knew was perhaps just as (if not more unattainable) than wendy.
eventually, the guy gets some sleep, and mabel has already come up with a whole list of ideas to help her brother in his otherwise, lack of romantic expertise.
however, dipper fights mabel every step of the way, insisting that he has a plan of his own. though he is grateful for the support, the kid genuinely had a clear idea of how he wanted valentine's day to go, and as long as he's got his confidence—dipper is sure he'll have his first good valentine's day yet.
finally, when the big day comes, mabel's nothing short of estatic.
"oh my god, what are you gonna wear? please tell me you're going to wear something good?? what are you planning to do for your date??? it better be something fun! you don't wanna make a bad first impression by doing something lame—in that case, i have to make sure you avoid anything remotely boring!!"
dipper simply blinks, getting everything but also none of the words that just left mabel's mouth right now.
"uh… i guess i'm just going to wear what i usually wear. i mean, i didn't plan to go anywhere fancy anyways. saves time and energy for later, right? i even put together this nice gift and everything…"
"aww, dipper~" mabel coos, clasping her hands together at the last part of her brother's reply, "whatcha get her? actually nevermind, you can tell me later. i'm sure she'll love it anyways!"
then, she takes a quick look up and down at her brother, inspecting his outfit before continuing: "are you really going to wear… that?"
"what's wrong with what i'm wearing? i wear this every day!"
"i know, it's not bad, but that's the point—" mabel pinches the bridge of her nose with impatience, taking dipper by the hand, "look, we still got a couple hours before you're going. surely, there must be something presentable in that closet of yours… that's hopefully been washed."
so, thanks to mabel, dipper was able together a simple, but clean outfit for his first valentine's date: a marine-blue unbuttoned oxford shirt with a cream-white tee underneath, paired with a casual pair of black jeans and his shoes; completely gaining the latter's approval.
"now go on, enjoy your video-chat date with pacifica~"
"w-wait!" dipper exclaims. "how did you know—"
"oh, would you look at the time? candy and grenda must be waiting for me to join their call bye~"
"mabel!"
"look, i apologized, didn't i? i've been trying to be nothing but a do-gooder; no more evil business for me. even gideon is trying to give me a chance. so, sunshine, what is your deal?"
growing impatient with pacifica's rejections, dipper finally corners her at the ballroom of gleeful mansion—speaking in a hushed tone as to not draw any attention from anyone else.
the former, on the other hand, narrows her eyes; frowning deeply.
"you wanna know why i haven't forgiven you, gleeful? i was the first person to trust you, and what did you do with that?? you toyed with my feelings, deceived me—all for your personal gain?! how dare you think my feelings can't be justified when you suddenly decide to turn things around!"
dipper was baffled, to say the least. so, pacifica continues talking.
"what if will decides to return to you guys? what then?? is it the end of you and your family's redemption arc???" she asks, her facial features now beginning to soften as her eyes start to water and her nose going red as she sniffles.
"i don't want you to hurt me again. i'm not going to let you hurt me again."
as pacifica begins to run off, dipper instantly goes after her.
"pacifica, wait!"
then, out of the blue, the blonde is halted in her tracks. a ray of blue flames stike her, thereafter transforming pacifica from her authentic human state to a wooden statue of her likeness.
dipper gasps, reaching out to her: "pacifica!"
"gideon!"
mabel cries, redirecting her brother's attention to the now-wooden gideon pines; taking the mage aback even further.
suddenly, the gleeful twins hear a bellowing laughter, the source of them coming around the fireplace. a grandfather clock tolls, as the duo take sight of the ghost staring at the gleeful family portrait.
"a forest of death, a lesson learned, now the gleeful manor will burn!"
as the ghost of nathaniel southeast continues laughing, setting the family portrait aflame, mabel calls out to the entity.
"hey ugly! over here!"
the ghost seizes his laughs, spotting the gleeful twins.
"you want us to let in the townsfolk?" dipper asks, "'cause we'll do it! just change everyone back!"
nathaniel scoffs, "you wish to prove yourself? pull that lever and open the grand gate to the town! fulfill your ancestors' promise!"
pointing to the lever which opens the main gates, dipper looks from the lever to the wooden pacifica. then, for a moment, her voice rings in his head.
"i was the first person to trust you, and what did you do? you toyed with my feelings, you deceived me—all for your personal gain!"
you deceived me.
"she's right," dipper admits to himself.
"huh? who's right??" mabel asks, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"mabel, our family has been nothing but liars and cheats. how about we do something right for a change?"
without saying anything further, mabel simply gives dipper a nod in the affirmative; grabbing onto the lever with him.
the twins share a look, then look back at the ghost as they pull down the lever together.
nathaniel gasps as the main gates which once divided gleeful mansion and the commonfolk of the town swing open. as the townsfolk swarm into the manor in waves, the ghost is finally appeased.
"YES, YES, IT'S HAPPENING!" the entity rejoices, "MY HEART, ONCE AS HARD AS OAK, now grows soft, like a birch or something."
as the gleeful twins look up at the ghost with satisfaction, the latter looks back down on them, equally satiated.
"dipper, mabel, you two aren't like the other gleefuls." nathaniel says as his spirit begins to ascend, "i feel… lumber… justice…"
with that, everything in the mansion returned how they used to be: the portrait showed no signs it being previously engulfed in flames, all the resurrected animals were back in their deceased state, and most importantly, all the people originally in attendance had been free from their wooden prisons.
even pacifica, who takes a breath of fresh air as soon as she's freed.
"pacifica!"
dipper runs to pacifica, visibly worried as he pulls her close to him in a tight, protective embrace.
"dipper?"
"you're… you're actually safe…" he exasperates, pulling back to look at her, "look, you were right. i was being selfish and i did mess with you just to get what i wanted, but i didn't fully realize how much i've hurt you until now…"
"dipper…"
"when you were encased in wood, i… i thought that i lost you. i… i… don't want to see you like that again. i don't ever want to make you sad again."
before he could even notice, a single hot tear runs down dipper's cheek, still holding his gaze at pacifica.
"i… i know it's too late for you to trust me… and i clearly don't deserve your forgiveness… but i do wanna try. i want to be a better person."
while pacifica listens to dipper's impassioned confession, she couldn't help but to focus onto the tear that runs down his face. then she looks back into his eyes—which she finally took in for the first time. though it was a glowing blue when they first met, she noticed how the loss of the amulet and will's emancipation from the gleefuls had effected dipper's eyes from the absence of power.
they were brown. it was nothing special, but it was like pacifica was actually seeing him for the first time. if she thought there was good in him before, it finally shown in his eyes now.
so, pacifica does the only sensible thing she could think of.
"oof!"
holding onto him tightly, pacifica buries her face into dipper's shoulder; trying not to cry.
"thanks, dipper. i… i forgive you."
"wait! where are you all going?! we're supposed to look for dipper pines, remember?!"
when pacifica sees all the government vehicles backing up and driving away from the mystery shack, she's enraged. after all this time, she finally thought that she would be getting him back—but why were the government guys leaving?!
"ahh!" pacifica yelps in shock as a pig runs past her, chomping on a drive labelled 'PINES'.
so, she looks up to the source of where the pig came from, back to the mystery shack, and simple to say the least—she could have never expected what, or rather who, would be standing before her eyes.
"great-uncle mason, that was amazing!"
pacifica's eyes widen at stan's words, as he approaches the aforementioned man with his brother. but whatever happened to—
"let's not go crazy; it was serviceable."
well, speak of the devil, the blonde thinks as the con-artist walks into the scene with the shack's handywoman, lita. welp, time to get over there and give that lady a piece of my—
yet, the man's chuckles cut off pacifica's thoughts: "thank you kids, but please, call me dipper."
dipper?!
"dipper..."
his eyes crack open the slightest bit before shutting again.
"dipper..."
he hears the voice once more, but the weight of his eyelids win another time, drawing him back to unconsciousness.
"wake up, dipper!"
he shoots up, fully awake at the sound of mabel's shouts.
"gah! mabel!" dipper frowns, turning to the digital clock atop his bedside table before shooting her a look. "this better be worth waking me up at seven in the morning for—you know it's apring break, right?"
"exactly—it's spring break, bro-bro. the first day of spring break."
mabel points to the calendar hung on dipper's bedroom wall; specifically on a date that reads 'pacifica visits'.
"yeah, yeah, pacifica's visiting." dipper mumbles, tucking himself back to bed and pulling his covers back up.
it takes him a second to realize the words that just left his mouth, then he really wakes up.
"pacifica's visiting!"
he throws his blanket aside, bolting right up from his bed, scanning his room left and right.
"oh my god, my room! i need to- i gotta-"
"stop hyperventilating, dippingsauce," mabel says, amused at her brother's behaviour, "that's why we're up early. we've got six hours before pacifica, candy, and grenda's bus arrvies at the stop. so, as your personal matchmaker, i'm here to make sure your room's spotless—as well as you. i'll never forgive myself if i let you talk to your girlfriend without taking a shower first."
"a shower? i'm fine, mabel," he rebutes, lifting up his arm to take a sniff from his pits, which he immediately comes to regret, "besides, pacifica's not my girlfriend."
"not if you don't take a shower, she won't." she jokes, poking him. "blop!"
so, after taking a shower while his sister gives him a head start on spring cleaning, dipper rushes to get ready and look decent for his crush special friend.
unbeknownst to the twins, three visitors had already made their way to the pines residence.
"ah, pacifica! so nice to see you again, sweetie." mrs. pines greets, giving the girl a welcoming hug.
"and i believe you two must be candy and grenda," mr. pines points out, also giving a warm welcome to the two girls, "of course, mabel's friends are always welcome here."
"as well as dipper's friends." mrs. pines winks, playfully nudging the blonde's arm; causing the latter to blush.
candy and grenda also giggle, making pacifica more flustered.
"but seriously, our kids have told many stories about you three," mr. pines says, gesturing them inside as he picks up the girls' bags, "pacifica and mabel's golf tournament, grenda's prince boyfriend in austria, and even candy's little crush on dipper."
"oh!" pacifica says, then she leans towards candy, continuing in a teasing tone. "well, i didn't know about this."
another day of weirdmaggedon dawns upon gravity falls, not that dipper gleeful minds. in fact, it's just like another regular day for him: he gets up from bed, changes out of his pajamas and into his turquoise suit, and walks out into the town.
just as he promised, he makes his way to the giant floating bubble in the sky—the pink one that's branded with an illustration of a llama.
good morning, sunshine, dipper greets pacifica in thought, looking up at the bubble; eyes half-lidded and smiling gleefully.
pulling out the key from his vest pocket, dipper unlocks the bubble and enters the spherical-shaped prison.
"ah! dipper, you came back!" the blonde cheers, donning an off-the-shoulder, spaghetti-strapped turquoise dress and her hair done up in a simple, but cute messy bun.
"sunshine, looking as radiant as ever," dipper replies, "as if i should've expected any different."
he takes her by the hand, pulling her close to him. swinging her along the floor, which has shifted from a bedroom to a ballroom setting, dipper looks into pacifica's eyes with adoration, feeling complete bliss.
"hey, dippington? can i tell you something?" she asks softly.
"anything, sunshine," he answers without hesitation, "shoot."
"i'm so happy here." pacifica confesses, smiling brightly. "being here, in my dreamland, with you... it's like everything i could ever want. i don't ever want to leave... i just want to be happy here, with you, forever..."
dipper returns her smile, looking down at her as she rests her head against his shoulder.
"i'm happy to be here with you too, pacifica," he admits wholeheartedly, "i don't think i'd want to be anywhere else, too."
so, the pair slow-dances in silence, letting the soft melody of the ballroom music fill the space instead.
ever since dipper's return, pacifica had intended to catch up with her old friend, but she knew that he already had a lot of catching up to do with his own family.
at least she had her own family to tend to, as well as her own career as gravity falls' top realtor, making her way to becoming the ceo of northwest realty from the past twenty years.
although she hated to admit it, pacifica kind of wished she was able to bond with her grandson preston as easily as dipper's twin sister and their two great nephews.
so, while preston is out on a date with his girlfriend priscilla, pacifica is left to her own devices as she finishes up paperwork for her recent client.
that is... until she hears the ever so familiar ring of the doorbell.
"heh... h-hey, paz," dipper greets; in his own, typical, awkward way, "l-long time, no see, huh?"
pacifica blinks once... then twice... three times, even.
"uh... pacifica?" he waves over her face; worry rising in his voice. "are you alright—"
dipper gets cut off abruptly was pacifica leaps toward him; wrapping her arms over his shoulders and enveloping him into a crushing embrace.
"dummy... don't leave me ever again."
"wait, what?!"
dipper stands in his now-clean bedroom proudly, his hands to his sides.
"you heard me: by the end of spring break, pacifica northwest will be my girlfriend."
mabel clasps her hands over her mouth, trying her best from squealing.
"oh my god, dipper! that's amazing!" she cheers, but then her face blanks—as if she's seen a ghost. "oh no."
"huh? what 'oh-no'? i don't like that 'oh-no'."
"look, it's great that you want to ask pacifica to be your girlfriend and all but.. how do i put this... when it comes to girls... sometimes, you tend to get in your own way."
"mabel, i promise," dipper says, placing a hand to his chest while raising the other, "no lists involved. maybe a plan to reference to from time to time, but no multi-phase lists i need to be following closely."
"okay..." she says hesitantly, narrowing her eyes and pursing her lips, "so... what's the plan then?"
"well..." he starts, rubbing his hands together.
"first, i figured there would be no harm in taking everyone mini-golfing. i can't impress her, but at least it's something she likes to do. pacifica will have a good time, so it'll definitely get things running in the right direction."
"um... mini golf?" pacifica asks, a bit weary.
"i guarantee you, there's no lilliputtians involved."
looking at him quizzically at first, she chuckles right after.
"okay, nerd. i've been looking forward to having a rematch with mabel anyways. she owes me a fair game, anyways."
"next, we'll go to the mall—it's full of stuff that pacifica likes, right? fashion and deep-fried foods!"
"here you go," dipper says, plopping down a tray of food onto the table before pacifica, "an order of french fries with a vanilla milkshake, just like the lady ordered."
he mimics a bow, gesturing to the fast-food before taking his seat: "just like home, huh? um... you still have a butler, right?"
the blonde giggles, nodding as she picks up a single fry and dipping it into the shake.
"only the one, though. we had to let go of a lot of staff after... you know."
"oh yeah..." he says, remembering the previous video-calls they've had, "it seems you've been adjusting well, though. oh yeah—how's greasy's? lazy suzan able to hold fort without you?"
"definitely. i miss her, though." she answers, twirling her straw. "between you and me, it's nice working at the diner. lazy suzan is more like a parent to me than my actual parents, and it keeps me distracted from thinking about home..."
looking up from the tray, pacifica looks at dipper with a gentle smile: "at least things in your home is better, right? i'm totally jealous of your parents."
"i guess you could say that..."
but it wasn't better. things at the pines' residence wasn't getting better at all. though there was still some sort of harmony in the household, it doesn't mean that his parents weren't still fighting almost every night.
but this didn't mean that things wouldn't be different with pacifica. sure, dipper's parents have been together for over almost two decades, and their marriage has still been on the verge of collapse even after their children had come back from their summer vacation in gravity falls, but it didn't mean—
oh, who was he kidding.
"hey, hello~" his friend snaps her fingers in front of his face, "anyone in there? you've been zoning out, wanna tell me what's on your mind?"
"um... heh, heh! you know what? how about we hit the arcade?? lost my appetite, anyways."
before she could have any input, dipper already grabs pacifica's hand, running down and out of the food court.
"there was also the arcade... but i don't know how she'd take it, but hopefully she'll come to like it. i mean—pacifica loves winning, right?"
"gleeful!"
"hm?" dipper gives a hum as he opens his eyes, peering up. somebody from the outside is calling.
"hey, sunshine, i gotta take care of something real quick." he explains, pulling away, his hands still on hers. "stay put, alright?"
she nods, still smiling: "okay, just... be careful, dip."
"you know i will." the brunette winks, causing his prisoner princess to giggle.
then, he finally departs, exiting the bubble.
"what the heck, dipper?!" gideon exclaimed. "i thought you turned a new leaf?! you said you were going to change!"
"oh, if it isn't lil' gideon—"
"don't call me that!" the small boy snaps back.
"never mind that! i'll have you know that i did, in fact, change," dipper continues, "i promised my sunshine, pacifica, that i wasn't going to hurt her, and i intend to keep that promise."
he then points to the bubble, wrapped in chains: "in that bubble, pacifica won't be hurt. never again. i was willing to let bygones be bygones, but she told me what you've done—and if you think i'm letting you in there, think again!"
"you can't do that, dipper!" robbie shouts. "you think you're protecting pacifica, but you're only imprisoning her!"
"valentino." dipper grimaces, his eyes narrowing and a threatening glint twinkles in his brown eyes. "you can't be any more wrong—pacifica told me herself! i am her protector! thanks to will, he granted me the power to create a dream world for her. in this world, i can shield her from anyone and everyone who can hurt her! even you!"
"but, dipper..." gideon speaks, his voice softens as he tries to empathize with the brunette, "do you really think this is the right way to protect pacifica? just because she's in that bubble, doesn't mean she'll be safe forever. eventually, one way or another, you'll hurt her too. so, when that happens—where will she go? who will protect her, then??"
dipper's cold expression slightly cracks, allowing his former enemy to reach out to him.
"we know you care for pacifica, we all do, too," the white-haired boy gestures between himself, robbie, and melody, "but we're still human. we make mistakes, and eventually, we will hurt each other—whether we mean to or not."
pulling out the slip of paper from the front pocket of his pants, dipper unfolds the paper to look back at the cut-out newspaper article; staring into the old picture of himself and pacifica.
she gave me another chance... even when i didn't deserve it.
"do the right thing, dipper. if you want to be pacifica's hero, please let us rescue her. please let us make it up to her."
"so, let me get this straight..." pacifica speaks, pinching the bridge of her nose in a mix of concentration and confusion, "this whole time, you had a twin sister? but you didn't tell me about her because of she wronged you about thirty years ago?? and then ten years later—she accidentally gets you sucked into this portal that you made??? so you've been stuck in there for the past twenty years until she reactivated said portal—in which she fixed, for the sole purpose to bring you back????"
dipper simply stares at pacifica, still struck by her beauty after all these years. yet, when he realizes a tad late that she had stopped speaking, he shakes his head; getting a hold of himself.
"y-yes. that's exactly what happened."
the blonde blinks once. then twice. then takes a long sip from her coffee; setting it down before slamming the empty mug onto the table.
"you never told me you had a twin sister!"
"well, i didn't think it was relevant..." he mumbles, annoyed.
"of course it's flippin' relevant!" she spats, "whatever mabel did to you in the past, she's still your family! i thought i knew everything about you, but you've been still hiding stuff from me!"
dipper sighs, looking at his old friend with a guilt-ridden expression.
"you're right, paz. i should've been more open with you, instead of being all mysterious and keeping stuff from you. i'm really sorry that i scared you and kept you in the dark all this time."
"ah, forget about it," she waves off, no longer upset. "you're lucky that i'm too old to be fussing over small things. besides, i guess i should be used to it by now, right? you never really trusted me, anyways."
"but i do trust you, pacifica," he says, placing a hand over hers, "i was just being an idiot, thinking that i was protecting you by not letting you into my world, but that's not fair. not when you've trusted me with your secrets. i truly am sorry, paz."
as pacifica looks down at his hand on hers, she looks back up to him; her diamond-blue eyes meeting his doe-brown ones. a twinge of pink spreads throughout her cheeks, letting her old feelings for the awkward man resurface; if only for a small moment.
for the first time in twenty years, her guard is let down again, baffled and stammering by the same guy who caught her heart two decades ago.
"it's alright, dipper." pacifica replies, the smallest hint of a smile graces her face.
"you're here now."
"SUGGESICA WIN!"
"ha, yeah!" pacifica cheers, pumping a fist up in victory, "in your face!"
though dipper wasn't happy at first that he was once again bested by her, he did have to admit—pacifica looks pretty cute when she gloats over a win. it's rare to see her geek out over an arcade game, after all.
"so, what was that again? didn't you say arcades were for nerds??"
"they're only nerds if they can't win," she corrects, poking his chest, "like you."
"yeah, yeah, you beat me," dipper says, rolling his eyes, "now enter your name for the high score so we can start heading back home. dad must've hooked up the karaoke machine by now."
pacifica giggles, inputting the name 'PAZ' before leaving the arcade with dipper; hand-in-hand.
"so, lovebirds..." mabel teases as she, candy, and grenda reunite with the pair, "ready for some karaoke?"
dipper blushes as pacifica rolls her eyes, smirking amusedly: "yeah, whatever. you wish i was dating your brother, it'll give you something to brag about."
"oh, definitely," mabel replies, "because i'm sure there's a lot of girls out there who are dying to say 'pacifica northwest, walking one-dimensional beached blonde valley girl stereotype, is dating my brother!'"
pacifica gasps, feigning offense...
before she laughs along with her former arch-enemy; walking out of the mall in a side-hug.
"look, after you said you weren't going to leave with me and move in my parents and i at the end of the summer, i wanted to hide in my sweater forever."
as pacifica explains her choice to stay in pacificaland, gideon feels the guilt rise within him as he is reminded of his promise from the beginning of the summer.
then, the melancholic expression on her face turns into one of resolve as she finishes her story.
"but then i woke up in a place that gives me exactly what i wanted: an endless summer where we'll never have to grow up! here, the sun shines all day, the party never ends, and now that you guys are here—it's finally perfect!"
"listen, pazzy," gideon speaks, "we're not here to party. all of this is crazy!"
yet, the blonde groans, disagreeing with her cousin's sentiment: "ugh! i figured you might say something like that, gid. would it kill you to be more like dipper sometimes? at least he's supportive of me!"
"sunshine..." dipper calls to her softly, placing a hand on her shoulder, "maybe you should go with gideon and the the rest..."
"huh?" pacifica's eyes go wide, suprised by the change in his demeanour.
"what are you talking about, dipper?"
"wait! hold on..." pacifica pants, trying to catch her breath after doubling down in laughs, "you... dated... a siren?"
blushing madly, dipper frowns: "is it really that hard to believe?"
apparently so, since the woman before him couldn't help but keep laughing; unable to control herself.
"uh—yeah?" she answers between cackles, "whew... oh my god, i'm gonna cry... that's hilarious... hah..."
"but you had two failed marriages!" he points out, still red as a tomato.
that doesn't stop pacifica from laughing herself breathless, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye as she finally starts to settle down.
"true... but i'm an heiress, dipper."
she had a point. twenty years is an awful long time, and it was like pacifica was getting any younger. it was inevitable that her parents wanted to secure their fortune by any means necessary—especially if said means was to marry their daughter off to another rich family.
hence, her two unsuccessful unions with marius von fundhauser and gideon gleeful.
"you never told me... how did you get out of them, again?"
"well, marius and i split because he fell in love with someone else..." pacifica answers, reminscing on her relationship with the austrian prince, "no hard feelings, though. it was for the best."
from the look on her face, dipper could tell that she was being genuine. he always loved seeing her soft side.
"and... gideon?" he winces.
"not as sweet as the papers put it." she replies bluntly. "he was just... too show-ey? even for me, which is crazy. i was able to find an out when i took the reigns on northwest realty—i got the chance to prove to my parents i was more than a pretty face, after all."
dipper chuckles, "as if there was any doubt."
"disco girl!"
"coming through!"
"that girl is you~!"
ooh-ooh's ring throughout the living room, followed by giggles and more of the musical works of dipper pines and pacifica northwest.
"more punch, kids?" mrs. pines asks as she enters the room; a tray of filled glasses in her hands. "gonna need something to drink so those singing voices won't be strained."
so, without any objections, the five kids take a break—drinking punch and catching up on town gossip.
"what?! you broke up with marius?!"
mabel's jaw drops nearly the same time the news drops, but everyone else remains indifferent. sure, candy and pacifica would have already known about this, but dipper was just plain uninterested.
"it wasn't a big deal, really," grenda explains. "there was only so much clinginess i could take!"
"speak for yourself," pacifica chimes in, checking her nails, "sounds to me like you could've been set for life. you were dating the prince of austria!"
"yeah, and it was a long-distance relationship, too!" mabel exclaims, "emphasis on distance!"
"what's distance if he wanted to fly me out to austria every weekend?! the guy just couldn't leave me alone!"
"yeesh," pacifica cringes; her facial expression in her signature look of disgust, "when you put it like that, maybe dumping the guy was right move. i can't imagine dating someone hovering over me like that, laughing and agreeing at every single thing i say."
"ha-ha!" dipper chokes out, blushing madly, hovering over pacifica, "you're totally right, paz!"
as the blonde in question raises an eyebrow, confused, the three remaining girls shares looks of mischief amongst each other; smirking slyly.
"speaking of your dating life, paz..." mabel begins in a teasing voice, "have you... say, got yourself any boyfriends, lately?"
now, it was pacifica's turn to blush—her cheeks a tinted pink.
"uh... no?" drawing out the confused 'no' in her reply, pacifica looks puzzled once more. "mabel, what—"
"AH-HA-HA-HA-HA~" dipper's forced laughs come out more obnoxious this time around, taking his sister's hand as he leads them out of the living room.
"mabel!"
"no... no... not you, too..."
"pacifica, you know in your heart that gideon's right. summer ends."
"but... i don't want it to end! i don't want to go back and... and..."
losing her words, pacifica looks back into dipper's eyes. deep down, she agreed with him wholeheartedly. she knew he was telling the truth.
but they were in pacificaland now. and the truth is not what she wants. especially if all the truth has done was hurt her and continued to do so.
"you said you wouldn't hurt me, dipper."
then there it was. the ache in his chest had returned. it didn't make sense, though! he was so sure that the guilt had been resolved after that night of the party at his mansion... so, why did it come back? he didn't so anything wrong. dipper made a deal with will so he could be granted full guardianship of the bubble and keep pacifica from harm.
she was all fine until that know-it-all gideon pines got in the way... he thinks he knows what's best for pacifica, and look what that go him—after all, he was the reason why the joyful blonde had felt so down in the first place! dipper didn't hurt pacifica, it was all gideon!
turning away from pacifica, dipper looks into gideon's eyes. if he could glare into them long enough, maybe daggers could materialize out of his brown eyes, shooting straight into gideon's blue ones.
what he didn't expect, however, was for gideon to stand his ground; staring back at dipper with the same amount—if not, more—determination than the once-evil psychic.
then, all at once, dipper's own words have struck him, remembering his promise to pacifica.
"i… i know it's too late for you to trust me… and i clearly don't deserve your forgiveness… but i do wanna try. i want to be a better person."
if i want to be more than pacifica's hero... he thinks to himself, i have to be someone worthy of loving... i have to do the right thing...
i have to be a better person.
"but, paz, you don't get it... mabel had cost me my dream school."
dipper repeats for the umpteenth time, lamenting over what could have been. he knew better than to be holding resentment over his twin sister for so long, but he just couldn't shake it off.
pacifica clearly notices this, which motivates her all the more to get her old friend to see sense.
"dipper, mabel and i haven't been on good terms this whole time, but after telling me the whole story, i've begun to see her in a different light." she confesses, laying a freshly-manicured hand atop inter-dimension traveller. "what baffles me is that while you can recall having a rich history with her, but it's only the two instances that she's done you wrong that keep a hold in your heart."
"but mabel was the reason i couldn't get into my dream school! she ruined my whole future in the blink of an eye—"
"she ruined your future, huh?" pacifica cuts him off, cocking a brow. "you want to know what i think, dipper?"
"paz—"
"no, maybe that big head of yours has influenced you in the past twenty years, and now it's got to your mouth—but i'm not going to stand for this. mabel is your twin sister. you guys sounded like two inseperable peas in a pod, but you've let that wrinkly brain of yours ruin probably the greatest friendship you've ever had."
pacifica pokes dipper's forehead for effect.
"sure, woe is you that you didn't get accepted to west coast. i'm sorry you didn't get to go into your dream school, but you went to backupsmore. you did the same work you hoped to accomplished at your first choice of school, but you pushed yourself even harder. if anything—you've probably found more success at backupsmore than west coast!"
"but mabel can't just get off scot-free—"
"your parents threw her out on the streets, dipper!" pacifica exclaims, utterly baffled by his sheer audacity, "things might've not have gone your way, but if they did back then, would you have been happier?"
hot tears begin to well up in the blonde's eyes, trying her hardest not to let them fall.
"you would have never come here! you would have never met... me..."
realizing that perhaps he did let his grievances get the better of him yet again, dipper had easily forgotten that he was only wanted to catch up over coffee with an old friend (maybe even get a second date afterwards), but he's blowing it.
blowing it big time.
"pacifica, of course i'm thankful for the way things turned out. meeting you was one of the best things that's ever happened to me."
"well, it sure doesn't feel like it..." she remarks, refusing to back down.
"look, i understand why you would be upset with mabel. sure, she ruined your chances of getting to your dream school, and got you trapped in another dimension for like, two decades, but she didn't mean to hurt you on purpose—and i think, deep down, you know this too."
though he wouldn't admit out loud, dipper did agree with pacifica's words. maybe it was just easier to stay mad at his sister because some part of him, subconsciously, knew that he was also to blame for where he ended up—especially getting himself sucked into the portal that he built himself.
"besides, if mabel was really as bad as you claimed her to be, then she wouldn't have spent all this time fixing your portal—just to get yourself out. in retrospect, what she did would typically require a prayer and a miracle to do: mabel self-educated in sciences, paid off your mortgage, and kept secrets to protect herself and her family. she did all this, her determined solely based on the very slim chance she could fix her mistake and bring you back home."
he wanted so badly to tell her that she was right. his mouth was already open, but with no words coming out, left speechless by the blonde's truth, he disappointed her; yet again.
"you know, i really missed you, dipper—but it turns out i didn't know you as well as i thought. call me when you decide to stop listening to your head and listen to your heart for a change."
with those final words, pacifica pulls out some bills from her wallet, before getting up from the booth, and out of the diner.
"what?!"
mabel yelps right before her brother frantically slaps a hand over her mouth, then peering over his shoulder to see if her loud reaction drew any attention from their guests.
with dipper's head turned, the other twin takes a chance and licks his hand, causing not only him to retract in disgust, but her as well; forgetting in that brief moment how sweaty her brother really was.
"mabel, seriously?" he asked in a hushed whisper.
spitting out and blowing raspberries with her tongue, she spats: "ugh! when do you ever not sweat?"
"whatever, that's not the point!" dipper replies, still hushed.
after blowing the last raspberries, mabel continues, whispering as well: "you haven't asked pacifica to be your girlfriend yet? spring break's almost over!"
"i know, i know, it's just..." he turns back to the living room, looking solemnly at the blonde; currently laughing along with candy and grenda. "i thought i was ready, i really did..."
seeing the gloom in her brother's face, mabel puts a hand to dipper's shoulder.
"so, what happened bro-bro?"
turning back to face his sister, dipper draws a deep sigh before asking: "mabel, do you think, if pacifica and i start dating... we'll end up arguing more than mom and dad?"
"huh?" she questions, her face puzzled.
"i mean, pacifica and i are just so different... and it's only been almost a year since we've met..." dipper explains, "on the other hand, our parents have known each other for almost twenty years... but that didn't stop them from those big arguments last year... do you think—"
"dipper, let me stop you right there," mabel interrupts, holding her hands up in a 'stop' gesture, "you and pacifica are nothing like mom and dad—and that doesn't have to be a good or bad thing! you guys have an awesome dynamic, whether as friends or as a couple—nudge nudge! the point is, you should ask pacifica to be your girlfriend when you feel you're ready. don't rush it, and definitely don't let other relationships like our parents get to you. after all, there's always summer!"
after giving it some thought, dipper looks away from mabel, turning to pacifica once more, then back to his sister; smiling.
"you make a good point, mabel... thanks. 'sides, there's always summer, right?"
after breaking free from the bubble in which will has imprisoned pacifica, she—along with the company of dipper, mabel, gideon, melody, and robbie—have made their way back to the tent of telepathy.
though found seemingly empty at first, the battle cries of the townsfolk taking refuge in the shack provokes the group of people who had just came from weirdmaggedon.
that is, until one of the folk—the six-fingered one in particular—had spotted their great niece and nephew, almost immediately standing down.
"kids?"
"grunkle ford!" dipper and mabel cheer, rushing to hug the old man.
"i can’t believe it! i thought i lost you two.” he says, capturing the twins in his arms.
“did you really?” mabel asks smugly.
“no,” ford answers, returning a smug grin back at her, “i was looking forward to not being bothered by you deliquents anymore.”
“you can always try again, grunkle ford.” dipper says.
“so, how did you all get here?”
ford then proceeds to recall the events from his perspective as weirdmaggedon unfolded, noting how the tent was the only place unaffected by will’s powers due to the protection of the unicorn hair.
“eventually, all these injured stragglers show up needing a place to stay. since the mayor got captured, i elected myself de facto chief. the plan's to stay in here and eat brown meat until we run out, then eat the gnomes."
as ford finishes explaining to his niece and nephew impassively, a nearby gnome immediately picked up on the chief's plan and gasped in utter disgust.
"hey! i'm short, not deaf!"
glancing from the kids to the gnome, ford remains indifferent.
"survival of the fittest, pal. sucks to be you, i guess."
"grunkle ford, we can't all just hide inside the tent," mabel reasons, "we have to save the town! gideon, stan, and i tried to do it, but grunkle stan ended up getting captured by will."
"serves that jerk right, it's what you get for trying to be a hero." ford remarks, then gestures to the townsfolk taking refuge in the tent. "besides, look at these people. the reason why they're here is not from the kindness of my heart, they're here out of fear—because people blindly following me would be less torturous than following some all-powerful space demon."
"so, you're really going to let will win?" gideon asks.
"kid, we got the best deal we could possibly get." the elder gleeful says, lounging back on his recliner. "be lucky that my niece is all sweet on you, otherwise i'd be kicking you and your cousin out on the streets with whatever townsfolk were unfortunate to not take refuge."
gideon frowns deeply, disgusted and frustrated with the six-fingered man. pacifica, although offended by the remark, is saddened on her cousin's behalf; considering that her uncle and aunt—despite their significant lack of quality parenting—are still out there amongst the chaos.
so, understandably, mabel is furious, and dipper places a empathetic hand on pacifica's shoulder—sharing in her lament.
she couldn't believe it... pacifica had waited for so long... she's waited twenty years, just to see him again.
though she would never admit it out loud to anyone else, pacifica's had dreams about reuniting with her former partner, many of them just a grasp away from a happy ending... that is, until she gets pulled back to consciousness at the final moment, and she realises...
he's not there.
after years of hoping, asking whatever external forces in the universe, just for the chance to see dipper pines one more time.
yet, after that lunch at greasy's, when pacifica finally got the chance to catch up with her old friend, she got to really know who dipper actually was... and it was just like in those final moments before she woke up each morning for the past couple decades.
he's still not here.
so, though it pains her heart to do this, pacifica needs to give dipper space. as long as things between him and his sister remain unresolved, how could she begin to think about having their own relationship mended?
but she's waited for twenty years... she won't mind waiting a little bit more.
take the rift...
"huh?" she scans the town around her. "who's there?"
nobody was nearby. in fact, she doesn't remember seeing the town in such a... monochromatic state. it was chilling, to say the very least.
after confirming nothing was behind her, pacifica shook her head rather wildly, trying to get her vision back. she didn't even summon him... she's fully awake... so, how did pacifica end up in the dreamscape?
suddenly, a being manifests before her. yellow, triangle-shaped, demonic. the blonde recognized him from the pages of the notebook, as well as the numerous tapestries she's locked up in one of the many closets in her mansion. after inheriting the property, stowing those demon-tapestries away was just about one of the first thing's she done to northwest manor.
"stay back!" she roars, standing guard.
"oh, llama, i'm sure your family raised you to be more poised than that." bill teases, swarming around her.
"you're nothing but bad news, you triangle goblin." pacifica spats, folding her arms, her hip cocked to one side. "i know you're like some sort of massive psycho, but you'd have to be even more mindless to think i'd make some deal with you."
"no need to be hostile, llama." bill says, backing away and giving her space. "i noticed that you had a lover's quarrel with pine tree lately, and i just want to give you something small to lift up your spirits."
"dipper and i don't have anything together." she states bluntly, clearly uninterested. "and i'm well off on my own, so if you're thinking of making me like, the richest person in the world, forget it."
"what if i gave you a better pine tree?" he offers, floating about and around her again. "in a snap, i can re-wire the old geek..."
with a snap of his fingers, a phantom of dipper appears before the two, walking towards pacifica with a smile on his ghostly face.
"a pine tree that isn't self-absorbed and all-consumed by science."
though he is a phantom, the animated dipper is able to take pacifica's hand in his. bill's probably controlling me, isn't he?
"a pine tree that can listen to his heart."
using his free arm to circle her waist, this dipper pulls pacifica close to him, his ghastly eyes seemingly consumed by her.
maybe, pacifica can't wait any longer. after all, she is getting old. besides, with dipper being the same age, she knows that he's getting old too. he's finally back home, so perhaps he ought to finally get some rest.
but it's not right. if she let herself sank this low, dipper would never forgive her. heck, she doesn't even think she could forgive herself. he wouldn't even be the dipper she fell in grew to like.
"all i need is this galaxy-looking globe of your boyfriend's. it's nothing big, so he won't miss it. so, whattaya say?"
looking from 'dipper' to bill's hand, ready for a shake, pacifica's determination returns to her; hitting her stronger than ever.
"my pine tree is perfect the way he is."
"what?" bill sputters in disbelief.
"you heard me," pacifica pulls away, staring into the demon's eye, "no deal."
"YOU FAKE BLONDE IMPENDING PATERNITY TEST! DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM? I CAN UNMAKE YOUR FAMILY'S LEGACY AND YOU'LL BE LEFT WITH NOTHING—"
"i don't care. i have preston, and i have dipper."
"YOU WORTHLESS WASTE OF STOLEN INCOME! IT’LL BE EVEN EASIER TO TAKE THEM AWAY FROM YOU! MAKE THE DEAL, LLAMA."
without hesitance, she raises a fist; completely all out of patience.
"NO!"
"wait, so if the answer to the equation is zero, then why can't x also be zero?" pacifica asks as her eyebrows knit together, staring from the homework spread on her desk back to the dork on video call from her laptop. "anything that's multiplied by zero has to equal zero, right?"
"yeah, but if you applied zero in place of x," dipper explains, amused by the blonde's annoyance. "you'd have two multiplying negative one, making the answer—"
"negative two, yeah, yeah." pacifica cuts him off, waving it aside. "lemme try again, but i need you to shut up for a bit."
on screen, dipper looks deadpanned, but he knew that pacifica was really trying. the school year was almost over, and thanks to insufficient funds to keep her original tutor, pacifica was left to her own devices.
the thing was, he has helped her all year, and she was perfectly confident with her grades... so, why are the stakes so much higher now?
"x equals negative two or one-half!"
"see, i knew you could do it." dipper smiles at her through the monitor.
chuckling at the dopey expression on his face, pacifica feels her cheeks grow warm, smiling back at him. "thanks dipper... but i couldn't have done it without you. actually... i think i might've needed to repeat the eight grade if it wasn't for you."
"you kidding me? you're great at practically anything you put your mind to!"
heh, i hope you're right about that, dip.
what pacifica isn't telling him is how much of a big deal her final math exam really is for her. as far as he knows, it's just her first final exam that she's gotten without an expensive tutor nor the safety net of her parents' fortune to get her into the ninth grade.
"bro-bro! tell your girlfriend ya gotta go! dinner's ready!"
mabel's off-screen call promptly causes her brother to be fully red in the face, momentarily losing his cool; to which pulls a giggle from the other end of his video call.
"sounds like i gotta let you go, bro-bro." pacifica teases, reaching for her laptop, over the sheets and textbooks. "same time, tomorrow?"
"heh, of course." dipper replies, chuckling nervously as he rubs the back of his neck. "sorry about mabel, you know how she is—"
"you don't need to apologize for anything, dork. catch ya later."
the dopey, awkward grin on dipper's face is the last thing she sees before she clicks on the 'end call' button, butterflies swarming in her stomach as she's temporarily allured by the goofiness that is her crush—not that she'd admit it to anyone else, though.
soon enough, those butterflies turn into rumbles, her stomach calling out for food as well.
after shutting her laptop and abandoning post at her desk, pacifica begins to make her way down to the kitchen.
"it's about time you showed up."
preston speaks bluntly as he and his wife are sitting on the dining table, with no food before them.
"we're starving, darling." priscilla says. "we thought we were going to have to wait forever for that... pines boy... to finally end your tutor session."
taking in a deep breath, pacifica sighs just as heavily, walking towards the fridge: "what are you guys going to make me prepare tonight?"
after viewing toby determined by turned to stone, soon to join will’s throne of subdued townsfolk, the remaining people in the tent of telepathy are finally pushed to the edge—the drive of freeing the town overruling their fear of will’s tyrannic takeover.
led by the team of gideon, pacifica, and the gleeful twins, all of the refuged individuals desperately assist tad mcgucket in turning the tent of telepathy into a force for battle.
days later, their combined efforts resulted in the completion of the remodeled tent of telepathy; much to ford’s dissatisfaction.
"thanks for these apocalyspe sweaters, pacifica." melody praises, physically snug in the cashmere. "the end of the world has never felt so comfortable."
"you were always a girl of many talents, sunshine." dipper chimes in, proudly showing off the sweater with a pine tree in the center.
the rest of the refugees are in agreement; nodding and humming.
hearing a shiver from behind her, pacifica shoots mabel a look as she notices she's still sweaterless. desperate to just warm up.
"ugh!" she whines, caving in as she pulls out a pink sweater with a shooting star in the center. "fine i'll wear it," she says, putting it on, "but i'm not gonna like it."
"admit it, this is the best day of the end of the world." pacifica says, taking a seat between dipper and gideon. "i think we actually have a chance to defeat will and win back our future."
"yeah," gideon adds, "can't believe i'm saying this, but i would much rather want to live to see mabel and dipper turn thirteen."
mabel gives gideon a soft smile, something that not even her twin brother has ever seen from her—and surprisingly, gideon even smiles back at mabel.
"if we're lucky, sunshine, i guarantee we'll throw another party at the manor and invite everyone in town."
though she knew dipper was certain about it, pacifica still raises a brow in suspicion; purely out of testing him.
sighing, he places a hand over his chest: "i promise, pacifica."
hearing the approaching footsteps from one of his two nephews, dipper sighs, putting aside whatever work he was currently tending to, now tending to his nephew instead.
"let me guess: stanley didn't take it well."
the young stanford pines shakes his head, regret and doubt starting to spread across his face.
"i don't know, maybe i'm making the wrong decision." ford replies, looking up at his grunkle. "i need to think about this."
"ford, right now we need to focus on the mission." dipper says, trying to pacify his nephew's gloom. "now come on, i've got the glue—hand me the rift and let's make history."
turning his frown into a smile, ford reaches into his supposed backpack, only to pull out—a birthday flyer?!
"what? oh no! the rift!"
it's the last day of exam week, and the weight of the world is on pacifica shoulders... or at least that's how she's feeling right now.
pulling up to the front of the school, the blonde unbuckles her seatbelt, picking up her bag, and is just about to open the door before her father halts her.
"pacifica," preston calls to his daughter, causing her to turn back to him. "you are a northwest. remember, if you don't get a perfect score on that final exam, you can say goodbye to your inheritance."
suddenly, pacifica's taken back to the day of the golf tournament between herself and mabel—and it only makes her feel worse.
so, she doesn't give anything to her dad but an affirmative nod, steps out of the vehicle, and watches as the family car drives off.
once the car was out of view, pacifica rushes into the school and in the washroom, locking herself in a stall.
hyperventilating, the distressed blonde holds a hand to her chest—though it doesn't do anything to slow her breathing nor stabilize the rise and fall of her chest. before she knew it, hot tears stream down her face, and the choked sobs that barely escape from her are just a cork from a full-on piercing cry.
get it together pacifica! she begs in her mind. stop being so weak!
feeling hopeless, the floor in the stall might as well turn into a black hole and swallow pacifica whole. it's still early in the morning, maybe she can just play hooky... and just catch the next bus to piedmont. it's not like her parents would miss her, right? especially when she won't get that perfect score they were hoping for. maybe he was right...
YOU'LL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING.
YOU'LL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING.
YOU'LL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING—
it was only a single ringtone that pulls pacifica from her mind. rubbing her tears away and taking a sniffle, she pulls out her phone and reads the caller id from the screen.
𝗠𝗔𝗕𝗘𝗟 𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦 💫
pacifica thinks about answering, she really does, but what could she say? the only person she's ever been vulnerable with was her brother.
before she knew it, pacifica lets her phone ring for too long, letting her enemy-turned-frenemy-turned-friend[ish?] go to voicemail.
"hey pacifica! dipper and i are just about to head to school, so we wanted to give you a call and wish you good luck on your math final! remember, no matter what the result is, our support for you is as long as pi! ha! get it? 'cause it's endless?? eh??? anyways, we'll always be proud of you, paz!"
pacifica rolls her eyes, chuckling at the shooting star's oh-so familiar cheesiness.
"mabel's right," a different voice enters the message, "you've done so well in school this year all by yourself, so don't sweat it, pacifica. you're going to nail that final, and even if you're not happy with the score, you should be proud of all the work you've put in this year."
"psst! dippingsauce!" pacifica can hear mabel call out to him, but her voice is rather hushed, likely due to her being some distance away from her phone. "tell paz you less than three her!"
"'less than three her'? what do you mean, 'less than three'..." dipper's voice dies down at the end, dead air follows the voicemail as he figures out what his sister meant.
"MABE—"
just like that, the voicemail ends—or rather, cuts off. pacifica sniffles, but she finds herself smiling. chuckling, actually.
who was she kidding? of course they were right! she's pacifica northwest. the only northwest that ended her family's curse. the same girl who showed up to a family photoshoot because she stopped caring about what others wanted her to be. the llama of bill cipher's zodiac!
bill was wrong, and after all she's done to save their lives—her parents no longer get the privilege to boss her around and treat her like a butler.
so, when pacifica finally cleans herself up, then walks in the classroom to take her final math exam for the school year, she's filled with nothing but confidence. she's pacifica, after all. as if she was going to finish the eight grade with anything less than an A+.
but, her mom and dad can keep that stupid inheritance of hers, she can make her own fortunes.
"this whole plan is insane, but no one asked the chief what he thinks. after all i've done for everyone!"
"hey dipper? mabel?" pacifica calls to them, but looks in the direction of the twins' grunkle. "shouldn't you guys talk to your grunkle? he doesn't look alright..."
"oh, we already know why he's acting like that," mabel brushes it off, only looking at ford for a second before staring back at pacifica, "don't worry about it, pacifica. he's always been this stubborn, but he'll come around. just needs to blow off some steam, that's all."
then, when mabel turns away to continue chatting with gideon, dipper shakes his head and rolls his eyes before talking to the blonde.
"to make a long story short, sunshine: mabel and i have been helping grunkle ford rescue grunkle stan ever since we could remember. after discovering that will had a connection to stan's dissappearance, understandably, we've tortured him enough to surrender and be subservient to us—using his powers and the tent of telepathy to steer suspeciting eyes away. once we got stan back, he only ever expressed gratitude to mabel and i—holding his grudge against ford."
"oh..." it wasn't pacifica, but gideon reacting to his former enemy's story. "so you guys weren't really evil, after all—just misunderstood?"
"nah, with stan's smarts, and ford's con-man skills, we could've easily turned the falls into gleefulland—ow!"
dipper holds a hand to his side, turning back to pacifica, who looks at him with a dissappointing pout.
"jerk. if neither of you are going to talk to ford, then i will."
"so, this is how the world ends. not with a bang, but with a boop-boop."
"weirdmaggedon." ford says, he and his grunkle looking up to the x-shaped rip in the sky—which the younger pines could only assume would be the portal to the nightmare realm.
"the rift is shattered." dipper says, lifting his nephew up as he gets run over by various animals and creatures. "bill's world is spilling into ours and every minute his powers grow stronger."
"stanley!" ford panics as eyes go wide. "the rift must've cracked inside his backpack. he must be in danger. i have to go and find him."
rushing towards the walkie-talkie, ford calls out to stan: "stanley! come in, stanley! stanley!"
"ford. listen to me." dipper calls to the boy sternly, placing a firm hand on his shoulder. "we can find your brother soon, but right now, we need to stop bill. if we could blast him back through the rip he came out of, we just might be able to stop him before his weirdness spreads across the entire globe."
"are you sure defeating bill is even possible?" ford asks, a hint of uncertainty rises in his voice.
"no. i'm not sure." dipper confesses, but with every bit of courage he could muster from within himself, he looks down at ford. taking a knee down to his nephew's level, the elder pines looks into the eyes of the six-fingered boy—hoping that the next words that leave his mouth transfer a spark of a fight in ford. "but being a hero means fighting back even when it seems impossible. will you follow me?"
"to the ends of the earth."
a/n: omg FINALLY part 2 is done! i just want to take this moment to thank every single one of you for all the support and praise you have given me since i released the first part. i just want to give a heads up that since school is starting again for me, and balancing that with my job, i clearly won't have as much spare time to be working on this fic—but i'll try my best to have the final part posted within two months from now.
writing ilyieu has been so great for me, not just in terms of engagement and the traction i get from other users, but also for my writing. usually, i don't think i would be posting this much writing in such a short span of time... i haven't been this proactive in my writing since 2020 when all i had was quarantine and wattpad, if i gotta be honest.
i hope that this part is just as good as the first, because the next part is going to be last—as it wraps up the stories i have between dipcifica in all thre au's. your ongoing support means so a lot to me, so please send me lots of likes, reposts, and even asks my way! just about any engagement will likely inspire me to keep writing! here, how about i answer some of those future asks right now:
q: jen, your writing is so awesome! do you think alex hirsch will hire you to help him write any future books for gf?
a: uh—i don't have a degree in english or any related subjects, but if he's still willing to pay me—I SURE FRIGGIN HOPE SO
q: do you actually like gravity falls or are you just writing this because the book of bill came out/you just started watching the series/you know gf is trending on tumblr/you wanted to join the gf hype while it's still trending?
a: yes. definitely. absolutely. (stan pines would be so proud of me :,))
q: ur writing sucks/u take so long to post/u copied [insert name here] so unoriginal
a: this is definitely not a rick roll
anyways, thanks a bunch again for your guys' support! you’ve gotten me my first 200+ notes, my recent dipcifica drabble has already surpassed 100 (despite only writing and posting it yesterday), and i’m actually gaining a following (even if it’s small!) i’ll be posting more soon!

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Epilogue
Every inch of your body ached, if a part of you wasn’t bleeding it was bruised. Your boss was kind enough not to leave any broken bones. Though you knew that wasn’t for your benefit, you couldn’t exactly go get him his drugs if you had broken bones or were bleeding out. You even had the honor of him beating the crap out of you himself, usually he had one of his lackeys do the beating, he preferred not to get his hands dirty, but it seemed you were special.
You stood there giving Mabel what was surely a bloody smile, leaning against the doorframe to support your weight. Just because he didn’t break any of your bones didn’t mean he made it easy for you to walk. He didn’t even provide you a ride, he made you walk all the way to her apartment. You dragged yourself up the steps to her apartment and just slumped against the door, barely having the energy to even knock on the door. On the bright side the pain from your gunshot wound wasn’t as prominent now, you barely remembered it was there, except for when you moved your arm.
Mabel just stood in the doorway, tear filled eyes and hands covering her mouth. She was acting like she’d seen a ghost; you didn’t think you looked that bad, but you hadn’t had time to check yourself in a mirror yet. Before you knew it Mabel flung herself at you, causing you to groan as you stumbled back, you tried grabbing the doorframe so the both of you didn’t tumble to the floor. For such a little person the girl really packed a punch, but you couldn’t complain, her embrace felt amazing through all the pain.
“I’m mad at you,” she mumbled into your shirt.
“I know,” you mumbled, relaxing into the hug. You wrapped your good arm around her, tugging her closer.
“How are you here?” She pulled back just enough to look up at you. “What happened?”
You sighed, knowing you’d have to explain yourself and everything that happened. “May I come in first?” You asked, tilting your head with a small smile. You weren’t sure if you were capable of having this conversation while standing, it felt like your legs were going to give out any second.
As an answer Mabel tugged you into the apartment by your hoodie, her hoodie. You rested your good arm around her as you left the doorframe, placing most of your weight on her. Mabel was a lot stronger than she looked, she only stumbled when she tried to maneuver you around the furniture. You let out a groan as she tried to help guide you onto her bed. Charlie shot up from the couch, looking around, his eyes going wide when they landed on you.
“Holy shit,” Charlie yelled, jumping to his feet, and nearly tripping over the coffee table as he ran across the room. “How are you alive? How are you here? What happened?”
You opened your mouth to answer these questions when Mabel rested a hand against your cheek. Your eyes drifted from Charlie down to her, as she stared at your face, gently running a thumb over one of your bruises. She slowly pulled down your hood, turning your face in her hands to get a good look at the extent of your injuries. Your mouth hung partially open, unable to answer Charlie as you got lost in Mabel’s warm brown eyes, you couldn’t remember the last time someone had looked at you with so much care and worry, the last time someone treated you so gently.
“Guess I’ll check on you later,” Charlie mumbled, clearly reading the room. “Call if you need anything.” You heard him shuffling until finally you heard the door close behind him.
Mabel let go of your chin before making her way to the bathroom. You stayed on the bed, watching as disappeared and your eyes didn’t leave the doorway until she came back out. She carried a small white container, sitting down next to you again. You looked down, following her hands to see her pulling out cotton balls and other materials to help clean up your wounds.
The two of you sat in complete silence as Mabel got to work. She got up, getting a wet washcloth before gently wiping away the dried blood on your face. You watched her scrunched up brow as she focused on wiping away the blood under your nose and off your busted lip. You couldn’t get a read on her, she was taking care of you which was a good sign, but you knew she was already mad and what you still had to tell her was only going to make her more furious. She still looked so cute, all focused and angry.
You flinched, letting out a hiss, and trying to wince away as she rubbed the washcloth near the cut above your eye. She just gripped you by the chin again, gently, yet forcefully, making your head stay in place until she was done. When all your cuts were cleaned, she used her finger to dab ointment on them, making sure they wouldn’t get infected.
“You’re probably going to have a black eye,” Mabel said. She turned your head from side to side, getting a look at her work. “Probably two.”
“Hardly the least of my worries,” you rasped out, letting out a humorless chuckle.
“Shirt off,” she ordered, ignoring your morbid sense of humor. Your eyes widened and you leaned just a little bit further away from her. She only rolled her eyes, wiping her hands with the rag before getting up to toss it into the sink, grabbing the rest of the trash on her way.
“Stop being a baby,” she said, coming back to stand in front of you. You looked up at her as she stared down at you, her arms crossed, and an eyebrow raised. “I’ve already seen you without a shirt, remember?” You nodded, blushing as you remembered, of course she’d seen you without a shirt before, she helped you when you got shot and then had been helping you clean the wound. “Shirt off, now.”
You moved quickly, slipping off the hoodie first. You tried to pull your shirt off in one swift motion but groaned as your injured shoulder moved, it was still too early to be moving with a gunshot wound that was only about a week old now. Mabel stepped closer, helping pull the shirt off your head as you kept your injured arm stable. Mabel quickly stepped back, her eyes scanning over your body. You turned away, looking anywhere but her, you knew she was assessing your other injuries, but you couldn’t help but be self-conscious.
“Lie back,” she said softly.
Without a word you did as she asked, laying down on her bed, using your good arm to prop your head up so you could watch her work. You couldn’t see all the injuries because of the angle you were at, but your ribs were pretty much all black and blue, red patches here and there. They might not have broken your bones, but you wouldn’t have been surprised if you ended up with bruised or fractured ribs. Seeing what little you could see you weren’t surprised that you nearly collapsed on your way to Mabel’s apartment and that you could barely stand without someone or something supporting you.
“I’m going to get ice,” she mumbled.
The next thing you knew she was gone, grabbing ice from the freezer. She came back with a bag filled with ice, wrapped in a cloth. She moved to place the ice on your ribs when she stopped to look at you, the ice hovering over your injuries. You gave her a small nod, closing your eyes as you anticipated the brief pressure of something touching your injuries. You sucked in a breath at feeling the ice placed on you before quickly relaxing.
“How’s that?” She whispered.
“Better,” you rasped out, looking down at her. “Thank you.”
“This seems to be our thing.” She gave you a sad smile as she shifted to sit on the edge of the bed. “You getting injured and me patching you up.”
“It’ll be over soon.”
Mabel looked down at her hands. It was hard to see from your position, but it looked like her hands were bunched up into fists. “What happened?” She mumbled. It was barely above a whisper, if it weren’t just the two of you in the room you surely would have missed it.
“I cleaned up my mess,” you whispered back.
“What did you do?” Her voice cracked. When she turned to look at you, you could see the unshed tears already formed in her eyes, even through the dark.
“I made a deal.”
“These kind of people don’t make deals. Not without a price.”
“It’s a price I’m willing to pay. You, Charlie, the others, you’ll all be safe after this.” You were trying to keep your tone neutral, not that it mattered since you felt your own eyes start to well up.
“But at the cost of your life?” She shot to her feet, looking down as a few tears escaped, which she quickly wiped away.
“It was the only way.” Mabel crossed her arms, unable to look at you anymore. “This is my mess and if I didn’t do something they would have killed Charlie and the others.”
“This isn’t fair,” her voice broke as she looked at you again, her tears flowing freely now.
“I know,” you admitted. “I’m sorry.”
Mabel didn’t say anything else, she stormed off to the bathroom. You didn’t see her again until she came back to throw out the melted ice. She was going to bring you more, but it was getting late, and you decided it wasn’t worth it. You wanted to get a few hours of sleep on your last night alive. Mabel sat at the edge of the bed; you could just make out her profile in the dark.
“What kind of deal did you make?” She whispered, not bothering to turn to look at you.
“I told them I would take them to their drugs,” you whispered back, your eyes never leaving her. “With the condition that they let the others go.”
“What makes you think they won’t turn around and kill them?” She looked in your direction, you knew she was staring right at you, but you couldn’t see her facial expression through the dark.
“They might,” you admitted.
“So why even make the deal?”
“It saved them for now.” Your eyes darted around trying to find hers through the dark. “I tried to convince my boss that his drugs would be gone forever if it weren’t for them. That they saved me and now he had the chance at getting the shipment back.”
You could just barely make out movement. It seemed like Mabel was nodding her head. “When do you leave?”
“Tomorrow morning,” you sighed, the fact that this was probably your last night alive plagued your mind. “I told them I needed to do something first. They almost didn’t agree but said they’d kill everyone if I didn’t return to the docks tomorrow on time.”
“What did you have to do?”
“Say goodbye,” you whispered. You could swear you heard a sniffle, but you couldn’t be sure. “I felt like I owed you that much.”
“You don’t owe me anything.”
You wanted to deny that, but you knew Mabel wouldn’t hear any of it. The truth was you owed her so much more than just a goodbye, a goodbye was literally the very least you could do. You didn’t think Mabel realized how much she did for you, besides just quite literally saving your life.
“Just rest,” she whispered. She hesitantly reached out, resting her hand on your knee, giving it a comforting rub.
You did as asked, snuggling further into her bed. You were going to ask if she wanted you to move to the couch, but she was already slipping into bed beside you. You froze, in that moment you were wide awake, you didn’t question her though. The only time you had technically shared a bed with her was when you were comforting her the day before. You weren’t sure if that really counted, she was crying, you were holding her, and eventually she passed out in your arms, you just continued to hold her until you decided to sneak out.
You didn’t intend to say anything, if she was okay with sharing a bed again then you were to. You enjoyed her presence and if this was your last night on earth then there was nothing you wanted more than to be next to her until the last second. You relaxed again, shifting your aching body until the softness of the mattress overtook the pain.
You glanced at Mabel, seeing her turned away from you. You stared back up at the ceiling, closing your eyes to finally try and get some sleep. Not even a minute later you felt the bed shift, the sound of Mabel silently wiggling closer filled the quiet apartment. Without opening your eyes, you too shifted a little closer to her, though you were a little less subtle considering your entire body seemed to hurt with every movement still. You and Mabel weren’t touching but you could feel her warmth.
The alarm on your phone went off, you groaned, refusing to open your eyes as you smacked around trying to shut off the alarm. When you finally hit the alarm, you let out a long sigh, you knew when you opened your eyes you’d have to get up, you’d have to make your way to the dock, then in a few hours you’d probably be dead. You turned your head, as you opened your eyes, through your still sleepy vision you caught sight of Mabel.
You blinked away the sleep, Mabel becoming clearer as the seconds passed. At some point in the night, she had rolled over and was now facing you. The both of you had also seemed to move closer to each other, that you were now touching. Mabel had managed to have her head resting on your good shoulder and somehow during the night your good arm ended up wrapped around her.
You hated to disturb the peace, but you knew you had to get moving, you couldn’t be late. You gently rubbed up and down Mabel’s arm. “Hey,” you whispered, your voice raspy from sleep. Mabel only hummed in response. “It’s time for me to go.”
Mabel slowly opened her eyes, looking down and back up at you as if realizing she was in a different position than when she went to sleep. Mabel didn’t pull away though she just let out a sigh, a pout appearing on her lips. Mabel laid her head back down on your shoulder, somehow ending up even closer to you. You sighed, continuing to run your hand up and down her arm, you could probably get away with a few more minutes of peace.
After a few minutes you reluctantly got up. Mabel got up as well when she saw you struggling to slip your shirt back on. She grabbed one side of the shirt and guided your arm into the correct hole. You smiled, silently thanking her for her help. You looked around, your eyes landing on the copy of The Odyssey Mabel had gotten you.
You picked it up before turning to Mabel. You gripped the book tight as you held it out to her. “Take care of this for me, yeah?” you asked. Mabel nodded, taking the book from you.
The two of you stood by the front door. Mabel reached up, cupping your face, turning your head slightly from side to side. “How do I look?” you asked, smiling awkwardly at her. It didn’t really matter how you looked; you were going to be dead soon anyway.
“Still cute if you ask me,” Mabel whispered. Your smile turned brighter at her words, if it was your last day on earth then you were happy, Mabel thought you were cute, considering when you first laid eyes on her you thought she was a goddess.
Your hand rested on the doorknob as you stared into Mabel’s dark brown eyes. Your eyes flicked down to her lips, hers doing the same. You both leaned in, but instead of going all the way you stopped yourself, resting your forehead against hers. You felt your nose brush against hers, you reached up, brushing a strand of hair that had fallen in front of her face. Mabel didn’t move, she didn’t try to complete the kiss, she just stayed there, her hand resting on your hip as her fingers played with the fabric of your shirt.
As much as you wanted to, you couldn’t kiss her. It didn’t feel right to have your first kiss with her only to leave and go get yourself killed. “Thank you,” you whispered one last time.
You pulled away, giving her one last look, seeing a tear escape from one of her eyes. You didn’t realize your own eyes had begun to fill with tears until your vision started to blur. You quickly blinked them away, not taking your eyes off her as you turned the doorknob and stepped out into the hall. You sniffled, shaking your head as you made your way out of the comfort of Mabel’s apartment and into the early morning darkness, walking to your guaranteed demise.

Chapter 1: Bite Me
series masterlist
Mabel really, really, doesn’t want to be doing this right now.
There’s at least five other things she could be doing right now, but no, she’s doing the one thing she swore she’d never do again.
Is this rock bottom? It has to be.
Charlie, who’s sat in the passenger, has been prodding her with question after question since she told him she knows someone who might be able to help them.
It’s not that she’s dodging his questions per se, but she isn’t entirely sure how to answer them either.
They’re in deep shit right now, no thanks to her, and the predicament reminds Mabel just why she doesn’t stick her neck out for strangers anymore. Not that Charlie is exactly a stranger, she is sort of sleeping with him, and he is sort of her boyfriend.
But this? This is a bit much, even for her, which is why it puts a bitter taste in Mabel’s mouth knowing who she’s having to turn to for help.
In their defense, it’s not like the guys signed up to get a hundred thousand grand worth of heroin stolen from them. Tom had accused her of being the one who ratted them out, which wasn’t true, so she had to act fast.
Being a snitch around here can get you killed, rumors can get you killed.
There’s only one person who stood any chance to helping her put out this dumpster fire.
And when she pulls up in front of a house on the more secluded side of town, Mabel feels the ache in her chest at the familiar porch steps. That swing, the unkept bushes out front, even from where she’s parked the car on the road she can spot a few beer cans littering the wooden rail.
Seems like nothing has changed at all.
“-Mabel”.
Her eyes snap to Charlie, who’s already looking at her, he’s probably been saying her name for a good minute now based on the confused and worried expression on his face.
He let his brother trash on her at the bar, even when he said he believed her, Mabel was righteously pissed at him for not standing up for her. But, that aside, she agree to let him come with her for this.
Charlie is a good guy, a great guy even. There’s something there without a doubt, and Mabel is fairly sure she could grow to be in love with him. She could be happy even, considering all the opportunity having him around will bring.
Is it wrong? Maybe. But Mabel promised herself she’d get out of this goddamn town, away from everything tainted and poisoned.
And for what it’s worth, she actually does like Charlie.
First, unfortunately for her, she’ll have to figure out how to get them out of something that was suppose to help them.
A hand on hers makes her snap out of her thoughts again, Charlie says her name again, softly. But she instinctively pulls away, because she can’t, not when that house sits just over his shoulder out the window behind him.
“Sorry, just uh… it’s a lot” is what she says, and he nods, trying to reassure her with his softly spoken words, but Mabel tunes them out.
She can’t help it, not when her eyes keep getting drawn to that paint chipped black door, and the familiar car parked in the open garage to the left of it.
Has it really been a year?
“Let’s just get this over with” Mabel mutters, cutting the engine and pushing the drivers side door open far too aggressively.
All she can hear as she walks along the path and up the porch steps is her own heartbeat slowly increasing, fidgeting with her fingers at her sides.
She doesn’t knock, she never did before and she won’t start now. Charlie splutters behind her, glancing around with wide eyes as if expecting law enforcement to roll up, Mabel doesn’t wait for him as she makes her way through the threshold.
It almost relieves her when she doesn’t smell that distinct linger of Mary Jane in the air, but Mabel steels herself, reminds herself what happens here isn’t her problem anymore.
Finally she pushes herself forward, wooden floorboards creaking under her boots as she makes her way deeper into the house that was once the closest thing to home Mabel ever had.
It hurts, how much she misses it here. The worn leather couch, the framed movie posters lining the walls, the tv stand she knows has drawers full of CD’s with a variety of film genres. A line of conch shells along the windowsill, those same windows that always stay cracked open to allow in the sound of ocean off in the distance.
And then she reaches the study.
There you are, back to her as you seem to be reorganizing the books on the shelf you face, even then Mabel knows you heard her walk in.
You don’t turn until she wraps her knuckle against the doorframe, hesitantly stepping into the study, it’s only then when she realizes Charlie had followed her inside. Stepping up next to her, his eyes on you with a mixture of curiosity and wariness.
When you do face her, it takes everything in her not to buckle, those eyes never fail to make her chest ache.
She fucking hates it.
“Hey sunshine” you say softly, as if you cherish the long lost nickname rolling off your tongue after so long.
“Lucky” Mabel says flatly, bitterly.
You smile, widely, almost charmingly. Mabel glares, unrelenting and jaw muscle twitching as she clenches her teeth.
Your gaze then goes to Charlie, but rather than any emotion Mabel assumes you’d express, you only look amused.
“Looks like you took my advice” you say as you look back to Mabel, who only feels bile start to work its way up her throat.
“That’s not funny, nor anywhere near true” Mabel deadpans, which makes you shrug, smile only growing as you slide the book in your hand back on to the shelf before turning to face them fully.
Charlie looks between you two, once and then again, “you two close?” he tries to gauge the dynamic as he shifts his weight from one foot to the next.
Mabel’s head tilts just slightly, rolling her eyes as her thumb comes up to scratch the space between her eyebrows.
“Use to be” you answer since she doesn’t, tucking your hands into your jean pockets “back in the day”.
Mabel is silent, jaw slightly offset as she runs her tongue along her teeth in her mouth, “Charlie can you give us a minute?” she says as her gaze lingers on you before dropping to the floor. Watching him from her peripheral over her shoulder.
Charlie laughs humorlessly, mouth quirking up only to fall the moment she turns her head to shoot him a look. He looks ready to protest, eyes flickering between the two of you before deflating slightly, sneakers squeaking against the wood as he begins to walk backwards.
The moment he’s out of the room, you trail after him, pausing at the door and then slowly pushing it until only a slight crack remains between it and the frame.
“What’ve you got yourself into now?” You ask as you turn to head back across the room, your shoulder brushing against hers as you pass.
On purpose? Absolutely.
“Now’s not the time to be grilling me” Mabel says flatly, crossing her arms as you move to sit back against the desk behind you, a sight that once use make her knees weak.
You hum, fingers curled around the edge of the desk as you lean your weight back against your palms “you wouldn’t have come here otherwise, am I wrong?”
“God, you really haven’t changed at all, still thinking that you know everything”.
“I think you forget just how well I do know you”.
“You don’t know me anymore-“
“And yet here you are” you say lowly, one corner of your mouth tugging up slightly as you add “it’s good to see you”.
Those words are like blowing dust off an old record, sat on a turntable, needle being rested down as the familiar melody begins to repeat itself again. A song Mabel has tried to forget the tune to, but with you, it’s her guilty pleasure.
A lapse of silence falls between the two of you, and as much as the words taste like battery acid coming out of her mouth, Mabel says them anyways.
You are, after all, the only person she fully trusts in a hundred mile radius. Even after everything.
“I need your help”.
You tense slightly, because of course you wouldn’t tease her for this, why would you? Mabel asking for help is the equivalent of watching pigs fly.
“Fuck Mabel, what’ve you gotten yourself into?”
Mabel clenches her jaw, looking away from you, wondering exactly how she was going to not only break this to you. But also how she was going to convince you to help once you knew the extent of the current predicament.
“Listen, I was just trying to help the guys and I understand being desperate for cash, and Charlie thought-“
You push off the desk, standing up straight which has Mabel’s eyes going back to you. You’re looking at her like you already know, and she’d be more surprised if you didn’t.
“It’s Weeks” she whispers, shifting her weight nervously before forcing her head up high, feigning a collected aura.
“We owe him a hundred thousand for losing a delivery”.
And then there it is, that familiar look of irritation, “goddamn it Mabel- it’s like what I did meant nothing to you? Unfuckingbelivable-“
You walk right past her, ripping the door to your study open, wood groaning under your quick steps.
Mabel is right behind you, not even sparing Charlie a glance as you both pass where he’s stood in the living room, pretending to keep himself busy until the loud burst of voices pulls his attention.
“Don’t you fucking start with me, I never asked you to do that, and the fact you still hold it against me-“
“-that isn’t what I hold against you and you know it-“
“-you shouldn’t hold anything against me considering the bullshit YOU pulled-“
The screen door cracks against the frame as you shove through the front door of the house, Mabel catches it mid bounce and slips through after you. It smacks the frame again, Charlie not being as smooth as he tries to keep up with you both.
“For the millionth time, I was honest with you from the start, are we seriously going to have this fucking conversation now-“
“-you’re the one who caught a goddamn attitude with me, when I was trying to be reasonable-“
You laugh humorlessly, shooting her a look of disbelief over your shoulder as you opt out the stairs of the porch, slipping over the railing off to the side instead. “You? Reasonable? Get the fuck out of here with that shit.”
Mabel is quick to go around, catching up with you just as you reach the garage, rounding the vehicle just as you tug the passenger side door open “you keep fucking talk to me like that I’ll shove my foot so far up your ass-“
“Yo! Where are we going?” Charlie calls as he finally catches up, rounding the house and standing at the open of the garage, hands cupped around his mouth to get both your attention.
“Not you pretty boy-“ you point a finger at him, your other hand still gripping the top of the door of the vehicle, Mabel scoffs and smacks your arm hard before digging into her jacket pocket for her keys.
“Go to home, I’ll have Lucky drop me off after” Mabel says as she tosses the keys to Charlie, he fumbles them slightly, looking between them in his hand and the two of you just as Mabel slips into the car.
“What-“
“Not. You. Go home” you say warningly, a look in your eyes that leaves no room for argument as you give the passenger door a shove to shut it behind her.
He steps in front of you as you round the hood, eyes hard and chest puffed, he’s got a good foot on you but even then you just gaze up at him with a subtle smug expression.
“I’m not a child, and that’s my girlfriend you’re taking off with, I’m coming-“
“Your girlfriend?” You say with a laugh, which only makes the muscle in his jaw twitch as he clenches his teeth. You look through the windshield at Mabel who’s actively trying to act like she can’t see this confrontation happening.
“She’s came to me, so I can help you clean up your fucking mess, do me a favor and don’t make this worse than you already have” you say as you casually reach forward to give his chest a firm pat, pushing him out of your way as you head for the driver side door.
“Which you’re welcome for, by the way. Don’t worry yourself too much, I’ll have her home by her curfew” you say as you shoot him a wink, tugging the door open and dropping into the driver seat.
He takes a few steps back and out of the way as you start up the engine, the rumble coming from it loud from the confined space of the garage.
Mabel keeps her eyes out the passenger window, looking at nothing specific, arms crossed and stubborn grimace etched into her sharp features.
“Do you want him to come?”
A pause of silence, her shoulders tensing just slightly, “just go”.
You don’t offer another word, shifting the car into gear and slamming the gas. The tires screech as you cut the steering, pulling on to the road and fishtailing the back wheels as you speed down the road.
It’s quiet for a solid three minutes, it’s a bit strange, the both of you being back here. Where it all started.
“Fill me in so I know what I’m working with” you say as you slowly release your death grip on the wheel, the white in your knuckles easing as you flex your fingers.
Mabel takes a deep breath in, propping her elbow up on the car door and pinching the bridge of her nose.
But she does fill you in, briefly explaining to you how she’d met Charlie and then found out they needed quick cash to get their fishing vessel ‘Finestkind’ back from the coast guard, fishing illegally in Canadian waters or something.
They needed money, she put them in contact with Weeks and he gave them a job, a job that was a bust. Considering they got jumped and robbed of all the product.
“I’m surprised he didn’t tell you” Mabel says after a lapse of silence, you hum and chew the inside of your cheek.
“Yeah, well, he knows better by now not to mention anything to me involving you” you say bluntly, twisting your neck side to side and easing at the satisfying pops.
That makes her scoff, keeping her gaze out the window “committing arson to get laid definitely wasn’t your best moment”.
“Says a lot more about you for sleeping with me than it says about my pyromaniac tendencies” you say pointedly, which begins to pull a genuine laugh out of Mabel. But she’s quick to cover it, opting to shoot you a glare and swinging her arm out to hit your chest.
You bat her hand away, and then your eyes lock, the both of you clearly fighting back a smile.
“Please fucking pay attention to the road, before you get us killed” Mabel deadpans, looking between you and the windshield as she gestures towards it.
You roll your eyes, shaking your head but doing as she asks as, muttering a “bite me” under your breath.
____________________________________________
“I can’t guarantee he’ll listen”.
You push the passenger door shut as she slips out of it, both of your gazes on the familiar building ahead.
“No, but you’re the only person he’ll hear out”.
The Supreme Donut shop, for reasons you still don’t know, is his stomping ground. The donuts aren’t even that good, but who are you to speak on it.
As the two of you approach, you open the door for her and follow her in. The donut shop is a cliché, but it’s nice. Red booth chairs and white tables, wide windows for all the natural light you could ever need, tile floors and the smell of freshly brewed coffee lingering in the air. You step around Mabel just as you spot Marky and Weeks sitting across from each other eating. Their usual table, you aren’t surprised. Talking quietly to one another, but when they see you they regard you with familiarity.
“We’ve been trying to call you, where you been?” Weeks begins, but when he spots Mabel as she steps around from behind you, the sight of you two side by side pulls a laugh of disbelief from him.
“Did hell freeze over? Or did Marky slip something into my coffee” Weeks jokes, dusting the crumbs off his hands as he glances to his older brother, who’s quiet but has a gleam of amusement in his eyes.
“We came to talk to you about the shipment her people went out to grab” you say smoothly, tucking your hands into your jean pockets as you roll back on to your heels.
His eyes go from you to Mabel, a hum of acknowledgement as he leans back into his seat, rubbing the gruff of his chin before pointing at her “we was about to come have a nice chat with you, your ears must’ve been burning”.
“The crew got robbed by fake cops, Tom got his ass kicked by these guys” Mabel starts to explain, “all I’m asking is you hear them out before doing anything that could get someone hurt-“
“Of course I’ll take your word for it. After being such a help for me? But that doesn’t exempt the guys from being reckless with my product” Weeks says as he weaves his fingers together and rests him on his stomach, eyes lacking remorse as he props his feet up in the chair in front of him.
“C’mon Weeks, be fucking for real for a second” you say as you pull the chair out from under his feet, his eyes snap to you as you sit down in it.
“You of all people understand needing money to take care of your people, we all do, they can’t help it they got mugged. Give them a chance to work the shit out before you go killing people” you say quietly, holding his gaze with your own serious yet convincing one.
He stares unwaveringly at first, he and Marky exchanging a look before he takes a deep breath, chest deflating as his eyes return to yours.
“Alright, but if these jokers fuck me over, it’s your head on a platter” Weeks says as he locks his eyes with yours, without looking away he gestures to Mabel behind you.
“Hers too, and this time there is no forgiving or forgetting, no matter who you are to me or what all you’ve done for me”.
You hold your ground, neither of you looking away from each other. But then Mabel is muttering your name under her breath behind you, and your clenched jaw relaxes slightly.
“Thanks for your cooperation” you say as you give his leg a sharp pat, standing and beginning to walk away.
“I think I miss you two being together, you were always so much more tolerable when your bitch had you on a leash”.
It should’ve been expected, he always enjoys getting a rile out of you, which is why he doesn’t flinch when you spin on your heel to face him again.
“Don’t push it, Lucky”, but then Mabel is in front of you, hands on your chest and pushing you towards the door.
“Go. OUT”.
You hold his malicious gaze until she’s got you out the door, swatting her hands away as you beeline for your car.
“Hey, hey! Stop!”
“You got what you want, alright?! So don’t try and act like you give a shit” you snap as you wheel on her, but as always she’s matching you with an unwavering intensity.
Mabel steps forward, her gaze locked to yours, her entire body is tense and her face stoic.
“Stop acting so cold to me.”
“You’re one to talk” you hiss through your teeth, your gaze going back to the building you’d just walked out of, heart pounding unnecessarily fast in your chest. Not out of anger towards her, but out of something you won’t name: fear.
Mabel lets out a frustrated sigh, her shoulders visibly rising and falling, something is different about her reaction to your harsh demeanor. She’s normally snarky and cold right back but now she just seems… conflicted.
“It’s different with you and you know it, don’t try and pull that bullshit on me.”
You clench your teeth, still glaring at the building as if you have a personal vendetta with those walls rather than the individuals within you’d both just confronted.
“You don’t have the right to say that anymore” you mutter under your breath, forcing your eyes to hers, the unspoken year apart between you suddenly becomes loud.
Mabel’s body tenses once more, her jaw set and her eyes are a mixture of hurt and anger. Everything changes in the tone of her voice, going from snappy and annoyed to tired.
“Don’t make this about that. That- that was months ago.” Her voice is shaky but stern, her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides.
It’s not a wonder why this conversation is suddenly diverting towards digging up the past, every single one you two have always seems to lead to it.
Probably because so much of it was left unanswered and unfinished.
You cover the emotions her words bring with a hard expression, eyes sharp as you turn away from her to walk towards the car again.
“Then you’ll be fine when I drop you off at your new pretty and rich boyfriend’s place”.
Mabel’s expression falters further at your words, her body tensing even more, face falling as you turn your back to her and start walking.
“He’s not my boyfri-“ Mabel can’t even finish that sentence as she begins to speed walk next to you, trying to get you to stop as a mixture of anger and… something else start to bubble deep in her chest.
“He’s under the impression he is” you say as you grab the car door, unlocking it and pulling it open, refusing to look at her.
Mabel follows you to the car but she doesn’t get inside, she grabs the window frame to block you from doing so, trying to get you to look at her “stop acting like you care who I’m dating.”
“You know damn fucking well I do” you hiss, shoving the car door shut, yanking it free from her grasp in effect as you fully turn to face her, “and don’t pull that bullshit on me considering you came to me for help”.
“You say that but then you give me the silent treatment every time you see me around town, it’s childish” Mabel retorts, getting in your face, her breath coming out as shaky, and her teeth clenched.
“And don’t even try to pull that bullshit card. You know I couldn’t have not come to you for help”.
“Well you’re clear now, have your boy to get his fucking shit together because Weeks won’t give him weeks to make up for what he lost” you tell her sternly, chest rising and falling from your short cut breaths.
Mabel rolls her eyes, feeling like this conversation is clearly going nowhere. She steps closer, leaning into your personal space, her hands curling into tight fists at her sides.
“Stop being a prick and stop acting like you know what’s good for me. I asked for your help, what I didn’t ask for was your input on my relationship”.
“I do know what’s good for you, that’s exactly why I told you months ago that you needed a rich daddy’s boy since I’m clearly only what you need when you need it” you say lowly, eyes hard and full of unspoken emotion.
Tension fills the little space between the two of you, a chemistry you both use to bask in, but now it’s only suffocating.
Your words sting with a truth that Mabel can’t deny. And it only makes the mixture of anger and sadness bubbling in her chest all the more intense. She feels like drowning, a feeling that’s only reserved for you, or maybe she never got over it. Mabel’s jaw clenches once more and her eyes are full of fire as she stares back at you.
“You always have something to say, don’t you? You don’t get to just give me fucking financial advice and then judge my goddamn relationship months after we broke up”.
“So you are only dating him for what he’s offering” you laugh, shaking your head as you round the car, heading for the passenger side.
Mabel’s face falls, and a pang of guilt runs through her. Why is that your first thought?
Mabel scoffs, following behind you.
“No! It’s not like that, it’s more complicated than that.”
You say nothing, holding her gaze as you open the passenger door for her. So many unspoken things linger in the air, you both know each other far too well, two sides of a coin you use to say.
Too similar, too different, too hot-headed, too compatible.
Your eyes cut to the car, then back to her, indicating she get in.
Mabel stays quiet and just stares back at you for moment. She can practically see the thoughts working through your head. You two always have been a mirrored image, and Mabel hates it because it makes it easy for you both to read one another.
It’s why you worked, and why you didn’t.
Mabel wants to say something, but a voice in the back of her head tells her to just get in the car, this is a fight she won’t win today.
Not that she can blame you, it’s not like you know the full extent of the truth behind what happened back then.
For now at least, considering how bad things are looking right now, it may only be a matter of time. You are helping her after all, she isn’t sure if you’ll hate her more or less if you were to find out the truth.
Mabel finally relents, getting into the passenger seat of the car, and as always you close the door behind her.
You truly shouldn’t be doing this for her, Mabel should’ve just dealt with the consequences, this is her mess.
Somewhere, deep within the confines of her chest cavity where her heart beats under the cage of bones surrounding it, she knows the truth.
To her you were a compass, a guide and martyr, her salvation that kept her grounded.
But Jesus fucking Christ, now you’re the biggest pain in her ass.
next.

When you love your friend's au so much that you write fanfic for it
Based on @punkinspice's @shadouge-family-au ***
Everyone froze as the glass shattered on the floor.
Then little three-year-old Monty started crying because it scared him, quickly followed his twin sister Mabel, who cried because he was crying. Chase (who was five, almost six) simply looked at the glass mess and said “Oh oh.”
Amy tiptoed around the kitchen table to reach the crying twins, soothing them with gentle hugs and soft words. She glanced up at her husband.
Sonic stood exactly where he’d been when the glass had left his hand (by the kitchen sink). He stared at the floor, expression unreadable; a rare moment of him being perfectly still.
He’s normally fast enough to catch things like that, Amy thought to herself. “Sonic?”
No answer.
Any hid a worried purse of her lips, instead turning to her oldest. “Chase, you still have your shoes on—can you grab the broom for mama so she can clean up the mess?”
Sonic then seemed to jerk awake. “Sorry. I’ll get it.” He quickly left the room, not meeting Amy’s eyes. Amy heard the shutting of a cupboard, followed by Sonic returning with a broom and dustpan in hand.
“Let me help, Dad!”
Chase had gotten down from his chair and now stood by his dad amid the mess. Sonic looked down into his son’s eyes, and managed a smile—small, but grateful.
“Thanks, kiddo.”
Chase chatted away about what he wanted to do after dinner while diligently holding the dustpan in place. He made Sonic chuckle once or twice, oblivious of the tightness in his dad’s shoulders. Eventually, he and his twin siblings left the room to play. Amy stood and took the broom from Sonic.
“I’ll finish here,” she said, gesturing with her head at the living room. “Why don’t you go relax? It’s been a long day. I’ll join you in a minute.”
Sonic looked at her, his eyes somewhat distant, but he gave her a half smile and nodded. Amy heard him sigh as he left, noticing him shove his hands behind his quills as he plopped down on their woven pink couch.
A few minutes and a vacuuming job later (just to be safe), Amy came into the living room and sat beside Sonic. He stared up at the ceiling, frowning at nothing.
If Amy was going to get anything out of him, it was now or never.
“What’s on your mind, Sonic?”
Sonic sighed through his nose. He closed his eyes as if thinking of what to say. In the end, he gave a defeated shrug. “You’ve seemed on edge for a few days, now,” Amy said carefully. “Ever since our last fight with Eggman.”
Sonic’s eyes flew open. “I hate that man,” he spat out. He sat up, face scrunched with more choice, but unsaid, words. Amy stared at him, surprised at his strong language. Certainly it was universal knowledge that Sonic didn’t like Eggman (and frankly, Amy hated the man too), but to hear her husband say it outright in such frank terms was… unusual.
“Are you upset about the forest he ruined?” Another sigh. “Yes… and no.” Sonic leaned forward, pressing his mouth against folded hands. He took a deep breath.
“Do you… ever think about us as kids?”
Amy tilted her head. “How so?”
“You know… all the stuff we did.” Sonic stared at his shoes. “How… crazy it was that we were kids?”
Amy took a small breath, understanding his meaning. She bit her lip. “Yes. All the time.” She waited for Sonic to continue, but he went quiet then. He began tapping his foot at the base of the couch—a nervous habit when he was thinking.
“My earliest memories are running,” Sonic said finally. “I was, I dunno—maybe four? Five? Chase’s age. I didn’t know where I came from or where I was going, and I didn’t care. It didn’t matter. I thought I was fine. I was fine! I couldn’t even talk yet, and I was fine! I just ran wherever the wind took me.” He took a shaky breath. “But imagining our kids in the same position just-!”
He cut himself off, burying his head in his hands. After a moment, he dropped them into his lap.
“We were so young.”
Amy nodded slowly. “We were very young,” she echoed. After a moment, she asked “Does that scare you?”
Sonic’s face scrunched again, but not in anger this time. “I was never afraid for myself growing up. I knew I’d be fine. But I was afraid for Tails, when he came into the picture. Some days I was so scared I didn’t know what to do with myself. And I guess, now… I’m afraid for them, too.” He ran a trembling hand down his face, forcing a laugh. “Heh… Guess things don’t change as much as you think they would, huh?”
“No,” Amy said, watching him, “I guess they don’t.” She put a soft hand on Sonic’s knee, leaning into him. “But I think that’s a good thing. It means you love them.”
Sonic sighed, his hand going to his forehead. “I just… I don’t know how to do this.”
“Do what?”
“Raise our kids! Especially when we’re practically badnik magnets! It’s a miracle Eggman doesn’t send a squadron after us every week!”
Amy rubbed his knee reassuringly. “Even if he did, you know Tails’ security system would warn us long before anyone was in danger.”
“I know…”
Amy thought a moment, then she leaned forward, trying to see her husband’s face. “You know, you know how to do this better than you think you do. You forget that you raised Tails.”
A husky laugh, almost desperate. “I didn’t know what I was doing then, either! It's a miracle that kid's even alive! I pulled him into so many things without even a second thought, and I had no idea how to raise a kid, I—!”
Sonic felt Amy’s hand on his chin then. It rested there for a moment, and then he relaxed just enough to let it guide him, lifting and turning his head so he could meet her gaze. Amy beamed at him, eyes soft and gentle. “And look how well Tails turned out.”
Sonic stared at her. Then suddenly he realized his cheeks were wet, and he went to wipe them with his gloves. Instead, Sonic found himself sinking into his hands. He gasped.
Amy started as her husband began to sob. A second later, she slid over again on the couch and encircled him in her arms, leaning her cheek against the side of his head, rubbing a soothing hand along his back between his quills.
“I don’t deserve you,” Sonic coughed out from behind his hands.
“I don’t deserve you,” Amy whispered back. She continued to rub between his quills. Then she kissed his head, feeling him tremble beneath her touch.
“Do any of us really know what we’re doing?” she eventually murmured in his ear. “We’ve never done this before, and that’s scary. I’ll admit, I worry about our kids sometimes too.”
She continued as Sonic struggled to catch his breath. “We don’t know what the future holds. But,” she said, a soft smile in her voice, “you don’t have to do this alone. You won’t be alone—I’ll be with you every step of the way. We’re in this together.” She kissed his head again. “It’ll be another grand adventure.”
A few more shuddering breaths from Sonic, and he gradually began to still. Then he nodded, though his head still rested in his hands. “Another adventure,” he whispered. “Like it’s always been.”
“Like it’s always been,” Amy nodded affirmative. She moved her hands to hug him around his shoulders.
They sat there for a few minutes, neither willing to move. They could hear their three little ones playing in the other room. Monty laughed.
“You know what I think?” Amy eventually asked. “I think that, with our kids along for the ride, it’ll be even more fun. More so than it’s ever been before.”
At that, Sonic finally smiled. “Yeah…” He lowered his hands, revealing it, then he glanced her way. “The more the merrier, right?”
Amy giggled. “Right!”
She stroked Sonic’s cheek for a moment. Then she stood and took Sonic’s hand. Surprised, he followed her outside onto their balcony. It had been built directly onto the tree that had become their literal treehouse, overlooking their backyard. Sonic stopped beside Amy.
“Woah…”
A vibrant explosion of oranges and deep pinks greeted them as the sun set over the distant mountains. They stared at the glorious sight, still holding hands.
“The beauty still gets me every time,” said Sonic.
“Yes,” Amy sighed.
After a moment, Sonic cleared his throat. "Sorry that I—"
“No. It’s ok.” Amy looked away from the sky and into her husband’s eyes. She squeezed his hand. “I’m glad you told me.”
Sonic’s cheeks tinged pink as he smiled, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. “Tryin’ to be better.” Then he met her eyes. “Thanks for listening.”
Amy grinned. “Like I said: we’re in this together.” Then she pecked him on the cheek, which made Sonic laugh and blush harder. He squeezed her hand in return. He pulled her into a hug, his arms around her waist, head resting on hers while facing the sunset.
“You know… I may still be scared silly,” he said, “but there’s no one else I’d rather be with on this crazy new family adventure than with you.”
Amy now felt herself blush. “Oh, Sonic.” She leaned into the fur on his chest, smiling as the sun ducked behind the horizon. “Me too.”

Fiddlestan au memory tapes quick drabble
@maya-custodios-dionach this one's for you.
"So Mcgucket, are you ready to see your memories?" "I don' know. What if ah don't like what i see?" "You have to,it's your only chance of knowing who you are" Mabel remarks as Mcgucket then nods and watches as the braces girl puts in the memory tapes. A young Mcgucket appears on the TV screen as the twins hear a familiar raspy forced cough. "Fiddlesticks, are ya sure that you wanna do this?." Young Stan asks in the background of the video as he holds onto the camera while Fiddleford glares at him. "Of course i'm sure, darlin'. Now get the darn camera rolling. Anyway. My name is Fiddleford Hadron Mcgucket, and i made this new invention so that i can unsee what i just saw. Something terrible. Test 1. Subject name,Fiddleford Mcgucket." Fiddleford remarks as he closes his eyes and blasts the memory gun on himself. The scene then switches to an amazed Fiddleford as the second test comes around. "It worked!. I don't remember a thing!." Fiddleford exclaims as Stan rolls his eyes behind the camera as he does NOT want to do this although he compromised for the sake of his southern nerd. "But ya still remember me,right?." Stan asks as Fiddleford looks at him once more. "Course',Stan sweetheart. Now onto the next test." Fiddleford replied as he left the frame but then before the next tape plays,Mabel gasps in shock from discovering that Stan was actually dating Mcgucket. "GRUNKLE STAN WAS BOYFRIENDS WITH MCGUCKET?!. WHY DIDN'T HE SAY ANYTHING?!." Mabel yells as Fiddleford looks at her confused,as he too doesn't remember being with the con man. "Now i've seen everything. I can't believe it. Grunkle Stan, and the town kook?." Dipper says as he shudders in slight disgust. Fiddleford then expectantly looks at them both. "Look children,ah don' know about me datin' yer uncle either. But before ya start jumping to conclusions, let me see the rest of my memories first " Fiddleford remarks as the twins nod and play the tapes again. A more deranged Young Fiddleford appears onscreen with various crossed out eye symbols in the background. "I made a community where people can use my invention to unsee the things they saw!. The experiment is a success!." Fiddleford exclaims happily as Stan sighs in disbelief in the background. "Fidds, isn't this getting a little out of hand?. This sounds kinda nuts with the whole 'community' thing." Stan asks as he refers to his southerner's cult while worrying for his sanity. "You're nuts!. I'm finally picking up mah life again after that insufferable bastard ruined it and now you're going to get in the way too?!." Fiddleford shouts as the grifter starts to grip the camera harder,if the audible static-y sounds of him playing with the camera are anything to go by. "Jeez. Relax. I'm just worried for ya,y'know?." Stan replied as the southern man ignores his comment and the scene switches to an even more unstable Fiddleford. "I did somethin' bad. This was a mistake,i'm forgettin' my name my job and everything!." Fiddleford says as the scene quickly switches to Day 189.
"I accidentally hit someone with mah car. I feel tegible,t-terrible. Terrible. I've been forgettin' words lately. And Stanley.." Fiddleford remarks as even in his slowly slipping sanity,he holds onto the memory of the grifter whom he has already abandoned at this point. "I seen something!. Something big!." "I realized that i've been losin' mah hair,so i got this hat from a scarecrow!. Get outta here ya darned critters!." Fiddleford says as he tries to shoo various animals away from his place at the dump. Fiddleford then utters incoherent gibberish as he makes a triangle symbol with his fingers over one of his eyes as the tape ends. "Oh, McGucket, I'm so sorry." "Aw, hush. You kids helped me get my memories back, just like you said." "But did you want those memories back?" "After all these years,I finally know who I am. Maybe I messed up in the past, but now that I seen what happened, I can begin to put myself together again." "I won't be able to put MYSELF together again after hearing that you and Grunkle Stan were apparently lovers." Dipper remarks in disgust as Mcgucket and Mabel laugh. The rest of the episode goes exactly as canon, with Mcgucket saving the gang from getting their minds erased by using his own empty mind as a shield as Dipper then erased the Blind Eye Society's memories of their own cult as he and Mabel go home after happily helping the town kook.

Turned Around
Fandom: Gravity Falls
Characters: Flips!Dipper and Mabel Pines
Words: 1,350
Summary: It’s Mabel’s day to regress but Dipper is having a hard time being the caregiver today…
Warnings: panic attack due to feelings of guilt (brief)
Dipper and Mabel might be very different, but they’ve always understood each other when it matters. Sometimes that means Dipper crawling into the closet and sitting beside Mabel while she takes some Sweater Time, and sometimes that means Mabel tossing a new pen to Dipper after he’s chewed through another one.
Today, Mabel is regressing, and Dipper is helping to keep the chaos to a minimum.
He likes being an older brother, a lot of the time. He nods when Mabel babbles at him (which isn’t all that different from usual), and he cleans the glitter off her hands before she eats, and he helps to tie her shoes when they go for a walk. It makes him feel responsible and secure. He doesn’t have to worry about Mabel, because she’s right there beside him, and it’s his job to keep her safe: he’s not overstepping or worrying too much, he just has to hold her hand and remind her to look both ways if they’re crossing the street.
Today, however, Dipper is feeling all wrong.
He had nightmares last night, which left him feeling distant all day, and classes were a blur of lessons and homework that he wasn’t sure if he’d done correctly.
But it’s Mabel’s night to regress, and that means it’s Dipper’s night to take care of her, and never mind the fact that his brain feels fuzzy and way too full right now. In two days it’ll be Dipper’s turn to regress, and Mabel will read to him and watch his favourite shows without complaining, and it’ll be fine.
They’re watching the Lalaloopsie show right now, while Mabel plays with crafts on the floor and gets stickers all over herself. She’s not paying much attention to the chatting dolls on-screen, and Dipper is zoning out while staring at the dancing colours.
He could ask to put on something with less overloaded visuals, but then Mabel might realize something is wrong, and it might pull her out of regression, and the last thing Dipper wants is to ruin part of their routine.
“Dip! Dip!”
“Huh?” Dipper blinks and realizes Mabel is waving her hands at him. “Oh, what’s up, Mabel?”
“Dip! Give!”
“Give you…” Dipper assesses Mabel’s art, which is mostly glued-down macaroni with some cat stickers scattered generously across the paper. “More pasta?”
“Dip!!!!” Mabel waves her hands more insistently.
“Ohhhhh, you want a hug,” Dipper laughs, and slides down to the floor to indulge his baby sister. She throws herself into his lap, a welcome wave of stickers and warm woolen sweater and hair that immediately gets into Dipper’s mouth.
Spitting out his sister’s hair as subtly as possible, Dipper wraps his arms around Mabel and leans his head against hers. She’s just so warm, and familiar, and the weight of her grounds Dipper more than anything so far today.
“Dip?”
Oh, Dipper might have been holding on for too long. It’s hard to let her go, with how comfortable this is.
In fact, Dipper realizes, this is not good. He should have stayed on the chair. He’s too comfortable, and his brain is finally letting him fall into a quietude, but he’s supposed to be taking care of his sister, not getting all quiet and small and comfy, no matter how much he wants it…
“Dipper?”
Now he’s really done it, Mabel’s tone is changing to one of concern, and he still can’t unwrap his arms from her.
“Dipper, is it bad? Do you need space?” Ironic, isn’t it, that Mabel is asking if Dipper needs space while he’s clinging to her so unstoppably. He manages to shake his head at her question, and is rewarded with Mabel’s arms coming around him in return, holding him close, and that’s definitely a big sister hug, he’s totally messed this up-
“Dipper, shhh, breathe.”
Right, yeah, breathing.
Dipper gasps in a breath and then lets it out slowly, trying to force down the alarms that were ringing in his head. It feels like there’s a black hole in his stomach, sucking him down and in, trying to crumple his entire body into itself out of guilt and frustration.
He opens his mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. I’m sorry, Dipper thinks to himself, and then he tries to say it to Mabel, and there’s something in his throat that just won’t let it out.
“It’s okay, Dipper,” Mabel soothes, patting the back of his head. “You’re just freaking out, it’s not going to last forever.”
That’s his reassuring big sister, alright.
Eventually, the black hole dissipates and Dipper’s lungs stop trying to swallow themselves, and some semblance of normalcy returns.
I’m sorry, he tries to say again, but words are still eluding him.
Dipper leans back, and Mabel lets him. She keeps her hands on his shoulders, her eyes scanning over him.
“You okay?” she asks, her face clearly communicating that she knows the answer.
Dipper feels his shoulders slump, unable to lie to his sister.
Mabel smiles knowingly. “Do you want to be the little twin today?” She taps him on the nose, affectionate and so clearly torn from her own regression. Ready to take care of him, the same way Dipper was supposed to take care of her today.
Tears fill his eyes, the immediate welling up that never happens unless he’s feeling small. As good as a confession, for a sister who knows him so well.
“Aw, it’s okay! Don’t cry! We can swap, okay?” Mabel cups his chin, bringing his face up so she can bonk her forehead against his in a slightly painful show of affection. “You can be the little twin today and I’ll be the little twin on Thursday, or we can just play separate on Thursday! I’m not mad, Dipper, don’t cry.”
Dipper pats the back of Mabel’s hands, the only thanks he can manage at the moment. Regression doesn’t always rob him of his voice, but today it seems that his words are gone. Mabel ruffles his hair and then gets to her feet, hands on her hips.
“Okay! Let’s get this TV turned off, huh? You want your babytime stuff?” Mabel narrates herself as she turns the room into something kinder to Dipper’s overwhelmed mind, the noise from the TV vanishing, a weight lifting from Dipper’s shoulders at the same time. He hadn’t realized how much the noise had been bothering him until it was gone.
Mabel appears next to him again, one of Dipper’s chew necklaces dangling from her fingers. Dipper reaches out and catches it, slipping it over his head and popping it into his mouth. It’s shaped like a mushroom and the stem fits into his mouth like a pacifier, but the material is hard enough that he can’t bite through it like he does with most normal pacifiers.
Once Dipper is busy chewing, Mabel drops down beside him.
“Do you want a story?” She wiggles the book they’ve been reading together: they’re on the third Narnia book, and Dipper nods. Mabel has a great talent for reading out loud and he likes to sit and listen while she reads, sometimes colouring and other times just rocking back and forth, all of his attention on her words.
Mabel opens the book and clears her throat, settling her spine straight like she’s getting ready for an important presentation. Dipper laces his hands on top of his knees and lets his chin rest on his knuckles, looking at Mabel’s reflection in the dark screen of the television.
“Are you ready?”
Dipper shuffles a little closer to Mabel and she puts out an arm, letting him lean against her. With the warm stability of his sister next to him, Dipper closes his eyes and nods.
Mabel’s voice begins to fill the air and Dipper relaxes into her. He doesn’t think about the nightmares, or the schoolwork. Even his guilt has melted away in the face of Mabel’s genuine excitement to read to him.
The only thing that Dipper feels at this moment is love and gratitude for his twin. He’ll have to plan something really fun for them to do on Thursday.
For now, all he has to do is listen.

Absolutely love your post weirdmageddon Dipper centric fic! Ppl tend to forget that even before all That, the lil guy has always been snarky and protective & Feisty. If anything, what he went thru would def make him even bolder and braver enough to have those traits be more apparent. On another note, I know we saw bits of it on the fic but I just can’t help but be curious on your take of how post Weirdmageddon mabel is doing? Like your head canons and such :O
Hi Anon! <3 Happy Sunday! Thank you so much for your kind words. Dipper Pines being mouthy is one of my favorite things about him.
(For reference: Anon is referring to THIS FIC of mine!)
I would be MORE than happy to lay out some of my post-Weirdmaggedon headcanons for my beloved Mabel Pines.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
✰ Mabel Pines POST-WMAG Headcanons ✰
✰ She and Dipper have their own rooms back in Piedmont. Their parents assume the kids will be excited to have their own space, and they both claim they are. However, Mabel spends the first few months back in California in a sleeping bag on the floor of Dipper's room. Dipper wonders if her own pink, cheery stuffed-animal-littered room reminds her too much of Mabel-Land.
✰ Mabel gets REALLY into scrapbooking. After her scrapbooks saved Stan, she records everything.
✰ She blames herself entirely for Weirdmaggedon. Keeps a smile on her face and the shame shoved way, way down.
✰ Gets caught bringing her grappling hook to school SEVERAL times by teachers. Piedmont MS has a strict "no weapons" policy. She continues to break it. The administration is at their wits end.
✰ When Dipper gets anxious or angry about something to do with Weirdmaggedon, Mabel is the first person to notice. She starts making jokes in a very specific way, entirely directed at him in the hopes he'll be distracted.
✰ Speaking of jokes, Mabel's humor gets DARK. She's got a lot of trauma and nowhere else to put it.
✰ The divorce hits Mabel hard. Even though Dipper thinks he was protecting her from it, she knew. As someone who usually sees the bright side of things, she finds it increasingly hard to rationalize all the bad stuff. The world can end? Love can die? Twins can stop talking to each other for thirty years? Late at night on the floor of Dipper's room, she sometimes stays awake in a numb state of panic.
✰ Mabel's second "first kiss" is freshman year homecoming with the guy she asked to the dance. She teases that it doesn't really count because Dipper didn't kiss him, too.
✰ Sometimes, when Mabel's hair gets really messy (curls, ugh) -- Dipper sits on the floor and helps her untangle it while they watch Ducktective reruns.
✰ After fighting with her hair for too long, Mabel finally cuts it short. Wendy is the first person she texts about it.
✰ Her sophomore year of high school, Mabel goes to a party with some of the more "edgy girls" who are into stick-and-poke tattoos. She does a sort of messy star on her ankle and gets grounded when her parents discover it isn't just sharpie.
✰ Soos, Dipper, and Mabel have virtual game nights where they play shitty browser games on call.
✰ The thing that Mabel fears MOST is losing Dipper the way Ford and Stan lost each other. As Dipper gets more confident and starts making a few more friends at school, interning, and preparing for college, Mabel worries desperately about being left behind.
✰ The moments when Mabel KNOWS they're going to be okay are the times when she and Dipper sit on the couch, scrolling through their phones in mostly silence -- occasionally cracking up and showing each other dumb internet shit. Dipper usually tries to covertly put his cold feet on her. She hits him with pillows.
-----
When I write Mabel, there are a few things I stand by: Mabel Pines is intelligent; she's not the stupid twin. Mabel alleviates her anxiety with humor, silliness, and absurdity -- she chooses underthinking over Dipper's overthinking. She is, in many capacities, just as mature if not more mature than her brother; she worries about him growing up too fast.
If you want more of these, let me know! I am never not thinking about the Pines twins <3

A fic I started writing a *while* ago and finally finished! I was going to try to draw something to go with it, but it's already been sitting for weeks or even months so...I'm just gonna share it now xD
Mabel is creating another sweater masterpiece, but then someone unexpected asks for her assistance.
Mabel was in the zone. Her fingers moved quickly, the clacking of her knitting needles filled the air. This was going to be a GREAT sweater. One of her best! Well, all of them were the best, but still!
She was vaguely aware of Dipper telling her he was going out with Soos and Stan to do…something, she didn’t quite catch what it was. But that was fine, this sweater would take up at least another hour, probably more. And if they weren’t back by then, well, she could start on another one. Or have a dance part with Waddles. Or about a million other things.
The TV was on as Mabel worked. She was half watching, half working, just how she liked it. Which is probably why didn’t notice Dipper leaving. Or just about anything else going on in the shack. That is, until someone coughed. Well, she might not have noticed that either, but it was kind of loud. Almost like they had already coughed once.
Looking up, a grin broke out on Mabel’s face as she saw Ford standing in the doorway.
“Grunkle Ford!” Mabel held up her sweater. “What do you think?”
Ford glanced at the sweater, taking it in for a moment, then a hesitant smile grew on his face. “It’s uh, it’s very colorful.”
“Right?” She held up the yarn she was using. “I have been wanting to use these colors for ages and I finally got around to it, and it looks awesome!”
Ford nodded, but didn’t say anything else, almost as if he was at a loss for words.
Then Mabel had a spark of genius. “Oh my gosh! I can make you a sweater! I’ve tried making some for Dipper but he never wears them. I think ‘cause of his sweating problem. And I’ve offered to make one for Stan too. He says he doesn’t need one, but I’ll wear him down soon, I know it. But! You already wear sweaters!”
For a moment, Ford just stared at her, then he shook his head. “Oh, ah. No, that’s fine. I don’t need a new sweater.”
Mabel’s shoulders drooped and the sweater she had been holding up fell in her lap. All the of ideas she had been coming up with in the last few seconds came screeching to a halt.
“Oh, but uh, I do actually have a favor to ask. And it does involve sweaters.” Ford pulled his hands out from behind his back and showed her the black turtleneck he had been wearing when he’d first come out of the portal, along with the red one she’d seen him wear for the past few days. It was only now that she realized he was wearing a white button up instead of his normal sweater, though his coat was pulled tightly around his neck. “These have a few holes in them. I…can patch them myself, but-”
“I can help!” Mabel sat up straight, her smile returning to her face. “I can do it right now if you want!”
Ford held up a hand. “Oh, no, that’s fine. Just when you have time. I’ll leave them here.” He placed the sweaters on the edge of the couch.
Mabel couldn’t stop herself from picking up one of them. “I can do it now, really, you could even stay and-”
“No, no. Really. It’s fine. There are some things I need to attend to.” Ford gave her an awkward smile which she tried to return despite her disappointment. She really wanted to get to know Ford better.
“I’ll leave you to your current project.” Ford raised a hand in farewell, then turned and left without another word.
Mabel frowned at the empty hallway where her grunkle had been. Then she glanced at the sweater in her lap. “Sorry rainbow sweater, but I have another project I gotta work on first.” Placing aside her colorful top, Mabel picked up the black turtleneck and frowned. It was so dark, and as she examined it, she saw a bunch of holes in it. The red one was better, but still way too holey.
Carefully placing all of the sweaters on the couch, she raced upstairs. Ford might’ve said he only needed a patch job, and he’s said there was no rush. but Mabel knew she couldn’t pass up this opportunity. This was her chance to make something for her new grunkle – even if it was just adding something to his current clothes – and she was not going to wait to get started.
------
Ford frowned as he stared at the rift, moving within its containment unit. He was still at a loss as to how to get rid of it, if he even could. It was just another reminder of his mistakes, and now, thanks to Stan, he was back to square one with stopping Bill too.
The sound of the elevator opening sent a wave of panic through Ford and he quickly closed the door to the cabinet he had been keeping the rift in. He’d told Dipper, yes, but he didn’t want to risk anyone else knowing about it.
“Grunkle Ford!”
Spinning around, Ford was met with the sight of Mabel grinning, her hands behind her back. He was more than a little surprised to see her, it had only been an hour or so since he’d gone upstairs to give her his sweaters.
“So, I know you said there wasn’t a rush, but I really wanted to work on your sweaters right away…” Mabel pulled her hands from behind her back to show him the sweaters. “But I really wanted to do them now!”
For a moment, Ford stared at her. She had worked fast! He wasn’t very knowledgeable about knitting, but he had always assumed it took a while to make something. Then again, he’d only asked for a patch job, so maybe that didn’t take as long.
Reaching forward, he picked up the top sweater – his red one – which, upon further inspection, he could see was now free of holes. “Thank you, Mabel, I appreciate-” He trailed off as he caught sight of his black turtleneck. Because it was no longer fully black. There were grey and white polka dots scattered over the whole thing and on the front was a stitched six fingered hand.
“You like it?” Mabel grinned, holding up the sweater. “There were a lot more holes, and I didn’t have much black left. And I thought ‘hey, everyone loves polka dots!’ and since you have a fix fingered hand on your journal, I figured that would be a fun touch too!”
For a moment, Ford just stood there processing the information. He’d only asked for a patch job, he really didn’t need anything extra, and he would’ve gladly waited for her to get more yarn that would match. But then he met her gaze and saw the pure excitement and enthusiasm shining in her eyes. He couldn’t help but remember her creativity when playing DD & More D, and the fact that she had channeled that into one of his sweaters and was so excited about it…He found a small smile growing on his face as well.
“Thank you, Mabel. I love it.”
“Really?!?” Mabel beamed, holding it out to him.
He accepted it and placed it above the red sweater that he had draped on his arm.
“Are you gonna try it on?”
Ford couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Alright, I’ll try it on.” He handed her the red sweater before carefully pulling the black one over his head. He glanced down at it and smiled. It wasn’t his style at all - even after thirty years in other dimensions, he still found himself trying not to draw attention to his extra fingers - but for some reason, he didn’t mind seeing it displayed on a sweater.
“It looks perfect! Now we really are sweater twins!”
“I suppose we are.” Ford smiled fondly at her enthusiasm. It really was contagious.
“Oh! I forgot! I need to let Waddles out for a bit, he’s been cooped up for hours and I can’t let him out without supervision!” Mabel quickly handed the red sweater to Ford and raced towards the elevator, but not before giving Ford one last grin. “I’m glad you love your sweaters Grunkle Ford!”
Ford watched as the elevator doors closed. Then he glanced down at the sweater before looking up at the dismantled portal and the cabinet with the rift in it. His work tended to be quite messy. With a frown, he carefully removed the black sweater and replaced it with the red. It was a special gift and he didn’t want to accidentally ruin it. No, he decided that it would be saved for very special occasions. After all, this was the first gift he’d received in a long time, especially from family. And for that, it deserved to be treated as the treasure that it was.

I know I've been busy for a few days, but I'll catch up, which means two to three stories will be uploaded per day. Wish me luck.
Day 4: "No, we're not doing that"
Fandom: Pinecest
The warnings and alibis had already been said. Enough had been said. False promises and broken words would only create a much bigger problem than the one they had started with.
The words from years ago had never stopped echoing, "Don't you understand the gravity of the situation?!" "I'm sorry, you're on your own." "You have to stop." "You have to put an end to it, whether you like it or not."
No warning seemed to change their minds. Their decisions had been made; they weren't going to walk away from everything they wanted, and the consequences were inevitable. But how prepared were they?
ENOUGH
Stan had both twins in the room. He paced back and forth, rubbing the bridge of his nose. He was nervous but also disappointed by his nephews' trust and lack of commitment.
Such drastic situations require even more drastic measures, but that wasn't up to him. He had already said it, Stan would step aside. They were on their own.
However, he wasn't going to let it continue happening; he wasn't a monster either. He didn't trust either of them, but he also wouldn't let reality catch up with them. But there was only one thing left to do.
He explained to the twins, told them they should stay upstairs. They should just stay there and wait.
Dipper walked behind his sister. He didn't remember ever feeling such a darkest night. It hadn't even gotten dark yet, but the sun was slowly beginning to set. At that moment, he understood that it would be the darkest night of all.
No defense or excuse would be valid.
They had both been caught in small slip-ups. Their parents knew, they had known from the very beginning. "Cut it out," their father would say angrily as a threat.
They had already had a confrontation separately, followed by a long, painful talk, but neither knew about the other and both were too afraid to ask.
But now...
Stan had discovered them a year ago. They wanted to be honest with the only adult they trusted the most, but it had been a mistake.
They talked about a relationship since adolescence, and the more time passed, the more secure they felt about those feelings. Stan shook his head, repeating the sermon they had already heard a thousand times. "You have to stop, distance yourselves. It will be for your own good."
No.
Now the scene was repeating itself, only without a sermon, without help or even warnings. Just a timer they had to prepare for.
They were both lying on their sides on Mabel's bed, surrounded by all her stuffed animals. The lights of the sunset already covered all their walls. Mabel stretched out her arm, pointing at the ceiling to cover herself with the last rays of the sun, until her brother's hand appeared at her side copying her gesture and finally intertwining with hers.
“Why do you think Stan doesn't want us to hear the call?- Mabel thought, remembering the image of her uncle next to his phone, waiting for them to disappear from his sight. Do you think he wants to save us?”
“No, I don't think so. Didn't you see him? He was disappointed.”
“What did we do to him?”
“Ask them…”
They both curled up on their sides, looking at each other. The sun had disappeared, and the dim moonlight barely made its presence felt.
“What do you think is going to happen?”
Mabel tried to start a new conversation, so much silence was clashing with her thoughts, and neither of them were good at it. But, however, their hands were still together. I'm sure they're very angry, they'll be here any minute.
“Are you waiting for them? Tell me, what else can we do?”
“What else could we do?! Let's run away…”
“What?!”
At that moment she got up, letting go of his grip, looking at him as if it were a game.
“Do you have a better idea? How has it gone for us?”
“Tell me... Mabs... I only see negative results. That we've escaped once doesn't guarantee anything, quite the opposite. How are we going to face them? We'll talk to them again about love and consent, begging them to see what we see. Stan didn't…”
“It's very difficult, bro…”
“No... I don't want to face them or accept those unfair consequences, but I couldn't leave you alone either. Let's run away... We can figure out the rest along the way, I know we'll figure it out. We can be happy…”
“Dipper....”
“What? This is your idea, or would you rather stay? Do you think you can handle it? Tell me then, what's going to happen next?”
After 3 a.m., they had both packed their backpacks and were silently descending the stairs. The cabin was dark, and they slowly opened the front door. They ran through the trees, knowing Stan would notice their absence in a few hours, giving them more than enough time to find a road and try to get as far away as possible.
But the more they ran, the deeper they were in the forest, and the adrenaline and fear could play against them. Both almost out of breath, they stopped and sat on the ground. Dipper took a flashlight from his backpack that barely illuminated them. Their phones had been left behind, they weren't going to be so stupid as to be tracked, but it was noticeable even though they had a long way to go.
Suddenly, Dipper heard Mabel whimpering, her head fixed on the ground as she wiped her eyes.
“I want to go back” - she snorted.
“No, we're not going back. You're crazy.”
“Let's go back Dipper…”
“No! Forget it. You're just scared, listen to me…”
“No, no. You listen to me!” Mabel raised her voice, at the same time as she seemed to fall apart. “I know I told you to leave, but what are we supposed to do? We don't have any money, we're not old enough for it to be anything but more trouble. It will be resolved, we're not going back. Stan- Stan just wants the best for us, just like our parents…”
“No Mabel... No…”
“What if something happens to us in the middle of the forest? I couldn't leave you here and go for help. I don't even know where we are. What if I never see you again?”
“That's what will happen…” Dipper whispered.
“What?”
“That's what will happen if we go back Mabel! I won't see you again, don't ask me to do that. I won't.”
“Then what? I can't put your life or mine at risk. I love you Dipper, you know I do, you've always known how I've always known it. I know we can handle this.”
“I couldn't imagine a single day without you…”
“If it happens, it will be temporary, I promise... if it happens, it will only be for a while”.
Dipper turned his back on her, clenched his fists. But he only turned back to take her arm again and hug her, he needed to feel her warmth even if it was for the last time.
They didn't want to escape forever.
They stayed for a few more hours until the sun rose again, making the return journey much easier. They swore to each other again to stay strong, they weren't going to lie about their feelings.
What they didn't expect to find was all the lights on in the cabin, or their parents' car in the driveway.
They slowly approached, Dipper held Mabel's hand tightly while with the other he turned the doorknob.

Orientation Blues, Or Not So Helpful Hints For New Hires from SCP 963 and Dr. Clef
Welp... it's orientation time, or as my boss calls it 'Fresh Meat Friday'. Site Command is holding the briefing. Here's the highlights and important stuff.
Words of er... "wisdom" from 963
"Hi kids. Welcome to the SCP Foundation. A few ground rules. First, the class system refers to how hard it is to contain, not 'power levels'. Second, it's "Ket-ter", not 'Keeter' or 'Kay-ter'. Third, if Dr. Gears runs out of coffee, bring him more. Do not knock on the door, instead start singing 'Ave Maria' to not startle Dr. Gears. We're still picking bullets and D-Class fragments out of the door after the last person forgot. If you don't know 'Ave Maria', until you learn pick something unique. For the love of 343... no REM. Fourth, signing up for the softball team is voluntary. And finally, do as I say, not as I do."
"Keter Duty is a punishment. If you feel the need to volunteer, go talk to Dr. Glass, maybe hug 999 until the urge passes."
"The tuna surprise is not to be trusted, let alone consumed. Also... avoid the cakes in Site Cafeteria. The cakes are not lies, but our chief cook Mabel is terrible at baking. By the way... while bribing Site Command with baked goods is not officially advised... if say, some chocolate chunk cookies were left unattended outside a certain member of Site Command's office along with your reports, there may be fewer edits and redactions."
"If you see my esteemed colleague Dr. Clef with his ukulele, put in your earplugs. If you see Dr. Clef walk by with his shotgun, run to the emergency shelter and wait it out."
"Do not hug the anomalies unless directed to or the anomaly asks. The exception to this is 999. He lives for hugs."
"And now... without further ado, a man who needs no introduction, Dr. Clef with "Reality Warpers and You, Or How Not to Spend the Rest of Your Life As a Latke. You laugh, but it happened to Agent Ducanan. 682 was lined up outside with sour cream and chives."
Dr. Clef's survival tips
"One, Scranton Reality Anchors are vital in containing reality warpers. Read the manual, memorize it, practice setting them up until you can do it blindfolded. And one of my fav parts is that its implied to not have been one sided on both parts as well as the ending.
In Ford's POV, he was lonely and deep down craved connections and then finally met someone who was so similar to him and could give him what he truly craved as well as helping him solve the mystery of Gravity Falls. Bill was his sun (not kidding that's what Ford calls him in the book) that enriched his life.
In Bill's POV he was the only mortal who came the closest to building the portal and its obvious that he grew too attached to Ford throughout the 9 years of friendship they had, no matter how much he denies it by referring to him as his pet or tool. Heck, Bill wanted Ford to tattoo himself a code that translated said "If lost return to Bill" (Also the +18 innuendos).
Also I think they had the chance to work it out and had the tools to make it work but couldn't
Both have very similar backstories which also heavily affected their relationship with eachother.
Both were born with a genetic mutation that led them to be outcasts and octrasized by the people around them and seem to be closer to their mom than their dad.
But Ford didn't have it as bad as Bill did.
Its heavily implied that Bill despite being loved as a baby, that love dissappeared as he grew up and everyone around him saw Bill as a freak. Bill lacked friends and his parents, even if well intentioned, wanted to turn him "normal" by basically poisoning him. Growing up knowing you're different and everyone judging you and your family for it can mess you up.
And if Euclydia is similar to Flatland; Bill's family was already looked down upon due to being triangles.
All that made Bill start to brew hatred towards his home dimension and its people. And on a minor scale towards his family for not letting himself express. But he still didn't mean to do what he did. He just didn't have anyone to rely on.
Ford, while also being a victim of bullying, at least had Stanley by his side and managed to be friends with Fiddleford in his late teens/early adulthood.
Fildbrick at the very least cared enough to sign his kids for boxing lessons which worked for Stan and Ford when he was stuck between dimensions. And both him and Caryn never forced them to be normal.
That's not to say Fildbrick's parenting didn't mess him up at all; his scientific knowledge was only impressive to Fildbrick if it could give them financial gain, Bill even states Ford wouldn't be welcomed back home by his dad if he didn't have millions. Basically Fildbrick made his kids believe they were only worthy of love and acceptance if they managed to get money/be succesfull and both Fildbrick and Caryn (the latter on a lower scale but still responsible) kinda created Ford's need for recognition and ego and its people who go through abuse the ones who are more likely to end up in toxic and abusive relationships cause they're familiar with it(Heck, Stanley's last words were "Guess I was good for somethin' after all" and like I mentioned previously, it wouldn't surprise me that due to this type of pressure, Shermie left home as soon as he could to live for himself and not be influenced by his dad's ambitions anymore; that could explain why he's the only one of his brothers that seemed to be lucky in life as he managed to get a wife, a kid and two grandkids)
They were freaks who didnt fit in their homes and both of them finally had someone that not only listened but respected them (another thing to point out is that Bill uses his symbol as a nickname rather than mocking him with it or adressing him as a lower being like he does with Dipper and Mabel on a few occasions). Also both were rather egocentric and had a thirst for revenge and proving everyone around that they were wrong about them in the first place.
No wonder they got along so well.
The henchmaniacs were more like henchmen who obeyed their boss aka Bill and when we see them in Weirdmageddon Bill doesn't socialize that much with them and we see that he's not above harming them when hes mad/upset and in the deleted storyboards we see how he treats them. Its more like that gang of friends that just like you cause they can get something from you but when they cant anymore, they will not stick up their necks for you. They were just there for the party and not Bill.
Also Ford was the ony who Bill confessed to what happened with his dimension, while he lied to his henchmaniacs.
But Ford and Bill were eachother's best friend (even if Bill denies that Ford ever meant anything to him)
Hence the betrayal hurt so much.
Ford did so much for someone who only took advantage of him. The closest thing he had to a true friend spent all those years lying and using him. And it was thanks to his manipulations, Ford was blind to Fiddleford's worries and feelings which ended up pushing McGucket away after a 10 year long friendship (also its heavily implied McGucket was pining heavily on Ford, which is why he put up with so much despite all the dangers they went through). Ford was wrapped around Bill´s finger and eating out of his palm and Ford didnt even realized.
Not to mention the phsycological torture Bill made Ford go through; not just using his body for acts of petty revenge but also harming him and leaving Ford very close to the brink of death just so he could reactivate the portal.
All that led to the Ford we see in the flashback of A Tale of Two Stans, paranoid and scared for his life and Bill's plans.
And to prevent them, Ford spent 30 years planning to kill the monster he onced called his Muse not only for his sake but for the multiverse's. Heck, going so far as installing a metal plate on his head so he couldn't torment him that way anymore.
And Bill suffered from it too. He missed Ford and did not take the fallout well. He even went to drink his sorrows away and cried when he was told that they didn't have "one Sixer" there (and then blew the place up in a massacre).
And when Ford crossed the portal, Bill ordered his henchmaniacs to bring Ford to him, alive, in exchange of their own universe. With the context the book provides it seems to be the case that Bill would have kept Ford around even after the betrayal. He grew attached to him, hence he wants Sixer to be brought to him alive; maybe to have the face to face concersation surrounding the portal and the apocalypse that follows.
And even after Ford failed to kill him, Bill didn't seem to care that much (he does keep him suspended in the air unable to move after shooting him before giving him the chance to join his henchmaniacs and limits his movements by chaining him in the Fear-ramid before talking about the barrier though) went back to pestering him but also being so glad he came back, as seen in him sounding so happy when saying "My old pal", leaning over his shoulder, ruffling his hair and flipping his nose. He may no longer be able to posses him via mind nor mess with his neurons but he can still torment him via dreams.
Look at how happy he looks while Ford is clearly pissed off
But still he delivers his threath; Weirdmageddon will happen one way or another.
And while Bill is not over it, Ford looks back and feels nothing but shame and guilt regarding his relationship with Bill, like every other person who has gone through toxic relationships and felt bad for not seeing the signs and being stupid enough to fell for the flattery, the sweet nothings and promises. Which is why he doesn't tell anyone about his relationship with Bill nor the rift, cause it hurts and it would extremly embarassing to think of what his family might say about it amd about him and it would also mean recognizing he's harmed people like McGucket. Ford thinks he's protecting them by keeping quiet about it but in reality hes just protecting himself from any possible shame. Which to no one's surprise, ends up causing Weirdmageddon.
And when it finally happens, Bill instead of getting that mad at Ford for shooting him with intention to kill actually gives Ford praise for the portal and gives him the chance to join his henchmaniacs. Even going as far calling him Fordsy.
But of course, Ford refuses (in the storyboards going as far as to spit on his eye and instead of cleaning it with a snap of his fingers, Bill actually licks it. Gross and freaky and also the closest we'll ever get to a kiss between these two in canon) and instead of getting turned into regular stone, Bill turns him into gold and doesn't have him be a part of his throne, but rather keeps him by his side as a doll/prized posession (he doesn't let go of him in Pt 1 and later uses him as a bell in Pt 2 and places him in one of the arms of his throne, next to him).
And with the Book of Bill we now have better context as to why Bill keeps offering Ford chances to join him.
Bill wanted his Sixer back.
But Bill knows it wont be so easy which is why he tries seducing him with a song first (which fun fact the rats are another way into a human´s heart and Bill used that as a birthday gift for Ford) and when that fails he offers him something that in the past Ford would have accepted without thinking so much about it. But he knows better now and also loves his family which is why he refuses.
Which is why Bill sighs in disappointment at Ford's stubborness. As in 'I really hoped you'd take the smart choice but now you've forced my hand, sweetness'
Also what need was there for Bill to bring him that close?
Also Parallels
Like @ckret2 pointed out, Bill's relationship with Ford is very similar to Mabel and Gideon's; with one falling head over heels for the other, who views him as just a friend and due to his attempts for domination the other sees him as creepy and unattractive. Also both Bill and Gideon hate the sibling of the object of their affections but promise their love interest the chance to have as much power as possible if they just submit to him and become a prized possesion for them. But Gideon accepts Mabel's feelings at the end and decides to let her go but Bill is far more toxic than the chemicals Marie Curie accidently poisoned herself with and refuses to give Ford that chance. It's either Billy or nothing, and Bill would do whatever it takes for his goals even if it means hurting Ford. Or other people Ford cares about.
And then comes the Pines plan and although Ford's more sad over his brother, someone pointed out that this wasn't just killing his brother but his old friend as well, even if what they had was toxic you can't help feeling sad over a toxic relationship ending cause not everything was bad and even Ford states that Bill was to him like a sun in his life at one point. And in this scene he's basically lost the persons that affect most his life.
And after they find about Bill and him, Ford's family doesn't judge him and laugh at Bill's expense instead; he's got a family that loves and supports him. And he can improve for the better.
But Bill doesn't. He's alone and stuck with the consequences of his actions. He's pushed everyone away (His parents are still dead alongside his entire home-there's the possiblity the last atom vaporized with Ford's quantum distabilizer-Ford is finally free and doesn't need him anymore since hes got his family and the Henchmaniacs dont seem that worried about Bill, they have a home now and dont want him back as we saw in Lost Legends) and refuses to recognize he's hurt by his past and get better.
And as much as Id like to Ford to confront him and tell Bill whats what in person Im fine with this ending. Its perfect justice and karma.
Ford is doing better and finally healing while Bill is doing worse.
And that's beautifull.
as funny as everything is, i really am genuinely impressed and honestly really grateful for how bill and ford's relationship is depicted. it's rare to have an abusive relationship shown in kid's media, and even rarer for one to be realistic AND be treated as unhealthy. obviously the circumstances are fantastical (possession, dream gods, etc.) but the abuse in the relationship is honestly very realistic. like the things that bill does to ford- threatening to leave him for another, blaming him for the things that bill does to him, isolating him from his friends and family, making him heavily dependent on bill- these are all genuine tactics used in abusive relationships and i guess i'm just really grateful and happy to not only see this depiction, but to see ford healing from it. that he's finally able to break away from it, to tell his family about it and have them support him. that is just such a wonderful thing and i love it.

🍎 𝓟𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰: Yamaguchi x f!reader
🍏 𝓦𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰: stepcest, femdom, masturbation, footjob, degradation/humiliation(if you squints)
🍎 𝓐/𝓝: So 👉👈 It's my first time writing dark content/smut scenario i only do hcs usually, it's also my first time writing for the haikyuu fandom. And I do that for my first hq crush 🥺 Anyways! This scenario is a part of the hqcest collab made by the amazing @dilfsuna ! Thank you Mabel to let your 😌💅 anon take part of it!
Yamaguchi didn’t know when everything went that wrong. Was it when he started to have a wet dream about you? Or maybe when he started to jerk off at the thought of you? Or has everything always been wrong since the first time you were introduced as his step-sister?
Probably all of the above… And things surely took another turn when both of you had to live together once you got into college, financially not able to pay for two different flats.
It was probably at that moment that everything started. He thought you would never notice how he always insisted on doing the laundry. He thought you would never notice how at least one of your panties was missing and magically was back again the next laundry. He thought you would never notice how he was looking at you when you bent in front of him to grab something. He thought you would never notice how painfully hard it makes him. He thought you would never notice how he quickly excused himself to his room. He thought you would never hear his voice moaning your name as the moon was rising high in the sky.
He thought he could do abstraction of his feelings because it was wrong. You were his step-sister and he shouldn’t feel like that toward you. And yet, was knowing that it was wrong preventing him to do what he was about to do? No, it didn’t.
Your flat was silent, only the light buzzing noise of the fridge could be heard in the living room, as he crossed it to go into your room, his heart beating fast, so fast that it was almost painful. Each beat was making his body shake a bit more as his trembling hands quietly turned the door handle of your room. You were out, needing to grab something at the grocery store near your flat.
He knows he didn’t have a lot of time, that it was risqué, that he had to be quick. But he couldn’t help it. He needed to know if they were there. The black panties you’ve been chilling in yesterday, only wearing them and a loose shirt. They were his favorite ones, he thought they were the ones sublimating the curves of your ass the most. So when he noticed they weren’t in the basket laundry today, he was pretty sure that you left them somewhere in your room. It's not his fault if you left them there… As a good step-brother in charge of the laundry, he should be sure that no dirty clothes should be left behind right?
Even he knew it was just because he wanted to smell it. To smell you. To get off at your scent again and again…
His heart stopped to beat ofr a moment as he op, noticing them innocentlyheart stopped for a second as he opened your door, spotting the precious panties, standing there, on the ground, innocently.
He could already feel his cock twitch into his pants, as he could smell your sweet scent surrounding the room. He knows he doesn't have a lot of time, that he should be quick, just taking the panties and leaving would be the less risqué thing to do, but something about getting off in your room sent shivers of excitement down his spine. It's not like he would last long anyway, he never did when he got off with your panties.
He brought the dirty panty to his face as he took a deep breath in, his nose against where your core was supposed to be, freeing his hard cock from his sweatpants.
"F-fuck… You smell so good…" a small whine escaped his lips as he sat down on the ground, one hand brushing against his cock, but not totally stroking himself yet.
He shyly tugs out his tongue to give a quick lap to the crotch of your underwear, hoping it could give him a light idea about how divine his step-sister was tasting like.
Another whine left his lips as he felt the sweet taste spreading in his mouth.
"So good… you taste so good…"
He was now sucking on it without a shame, high-pitched noise of pleasure leaving his mouth, redness of his cheeks covering a bit his freckle. He was already panting, his eyes closed as he hoped he was licking your wet pussy instead.
His cock twitched, the tip as red as his cheeks, asking for more attention.
One hand stroking his dick, the other playing with his nipple, as the panties were stuffed in his mouth, his tongue licking its crotch, eyes closed, he could already feel his end coming.
He was moaning again and again, and if it wasn't for the piece of clothing in his mouth preventing him to talk, he would probably moan obscene things like "Please, let me taste you", "I beg you sis' you smell so good", "I'm sure your wet pussy taste even better..." or even worst "I love you so much, sis…"
His hand was stroking him faster, without any regular rhythm, as continued to whine. He pinched his nipple, making himself arch his back a bit more and his legs shook under the overwhelming pleasure. Your panties were now soaked in his drool, letting some escape, rolling down his chin.
He was so lost in pleasure, so lost in his own fantasy, imagining that he wasn't sucking your panties but that you were sat on his face instead like he always dreamt about.
He wanted to feel your thighs squeezing his head between them. He wanted to make his hands run on them, feel your soft skin. He would kiss them, again and again, leaving small marks on them if you allowed him to do so. And as he would come closer and closer to your crotch, he would be able to see how wet you already are, how wet his affection made you go. He would be a bit hesitant at first, giving quick laps on your panties to hear you moan, before putting them aside and finally… finally tasting you…
Maybe if he wasn't that lost into his mind, he would have heard the door of your flat open. And maybe he would have also heard your footsteps going toward your room. He would probably have heard too that you shouted that you had forgotten your wallet in your room. But he didn't.
Neither did he hear the door of your room open… And he barely registered your voice calling his name.
"Tadashi? What are you-"
He froze up, his eyes widened, looking at you terrorized. What were you going to do? How would you react to see your step-brother jerking in your room, your dirty panty stuffed in his mouth?
And yet, he couldn't explain why but the shame, the humiliation provoked by being caught by you doing something so dirty, so forbidden… It excited him, it was such a delight that he almost came from that only, or maybe that was because of the sight of your bare thighs that he just fantasmed about.
"I-i could explain!" he quickly said, taking off the panty from his mouth, whipping his drool away, trying to hide his hard cock the best he could.
What could he explain exactly? How much did you turn him on? How perverted he was? How the scent of your dirty panties sent him to heaven? That he always dreamed to be between your thighs to taste his sweet sister? That he always wanted to suck on your nipples? That he always hoped to one day fuck you slowly on the couch, to prove to you how much he actually cared about you? To prove to you how much he loved you? How did he want to kiss you, to hug you, to be there for you in another way than your step-brother?
He gulped as you silently walked toward him, not saying a word, nor showing any emotion. You were thinking he was a dirty pervert, he was sure about that. He was also sure you will tell everything to your parents and that he would be disinherited, that you will expose him on every social media, telling everyone how dirty he was… He was screwed. His whole life was screwed.
He was surely not excepting the sudden pressure of your bare feet on his cock, which made him moan in a loud way.
"So like that you jerk off by using your step-sister panties? You're such a naughty boy Ta-da-shi~"
His eyes widened, as he could feel excitement running in his blood. The way you were looking at him… The way your eyes were clouded by the same lust than him… It made his cock twitch under your feet.
"I said I could explain I- Ah!"
He could feel your foot putting more pressure on his cock as a pitiful and ridiculously loud whine left his lips.
"Shhh~ Keep quiet Tadashi, the walls are thin, you wouldn't want the neighbor to hear you, or… would you?"
He shook his head from right to left, unable to say a word that would turn into a moan. He was heavily panting, his heart pounding in his chest. Never in the best scenarios, he made by his imagination did such a thing happen… And deep down he wished for that to not be another of his wet dreams about you.
“Look at you Tadashi~ All worked up from your sister's dirty panties scent~” Another loud whine escaped from him. He already felt so pitiful, so horrible to act like that. It wasn't good, it was not okay to feel like that… They were step-sister and brother, what was wrong with him? He wishes he could go back in time to prevent himself from feeling like that but… Now that it was happening… He couldn't deny how good it felt. How much he loved that. How much he loved her.
"You're a loud one huh? It's not like it really surprises me, you're always so noisy when you get off in your room… Moaning my name~" you teased him as your feet came up and down on his dick, already leaking in precum
He felt shame burn his chest. So you know how he felt since the beginning? You were acting like that on purpose, knowing how it affected him?
"What a shame, I would love to hear you moan my name again and again as you rut against my feet, but I can't take the risk for the neighbors to know what's going between us, right Tadashi?"
He nodded again, as he opened his mouth when you presented to him the panties that were already stuffed in his mouth some minutes earlier.
"You're such a good boy Tadashi~ Knowing how to act to please me…"
Was it the way his name sounded awfully sexy when you were the one saying it or the way you called him a good boy that made him arch his back a bit more and bucking his hips for more friction?
He could feel his arousal already building up in his stomach, and his cheeks turning into a darker shade of red as muffled whine escaped him again and again.
"That's it Tadashi, be a little good boy for your sister" you whispered at the ear, nibbling on the lobe of his ear. He bucked his hips, even more, as his moan became a bit louder, but overall, needier.
He was looking at you with so much love… so much adoration… so much lust… it was such a beautiful face, the same as you ever imagined when hearing him reaching his end and moaning your name out loud in his room.
"You want to cum for your sister Tadashi?~"
He nodded quickly, his heart beating faster and faster, sweat starting to pearl on his freckled skin.
"Then cum for your sister, pretty boy~" you whispered before softly kissing his cheek, lifting his face with your hand, to be sure to not miss anything about the beautiful expression you could see on his face.
His back arched, head thrown back, as his whole body was shaken by a powerful orgasm, his loud moaning that even the wet piece of clothes in his mouth couldn’t stop echoing in the room, while the white loads of his cums were staining both his stomach and your feet.
With a devilish smile, you looked down at him again, whipping out the cum of your feet on his pants, down his ankles, as if it was nothing more than a doormat.
Picking up your wallet on your nightstand, you looked at him again. He was a mess, panting, legs spread, wide open, as his cum was slowly dripping down his belly.
“Since I got what I’ve forgotten home, I can finally go to the grocery store now. You better be rock hard again when I will be back, understand Tadashi? I’m sure you wouldn’t lose an occasion to feel your dear sister’s pussy around your cock just because you didn’t behave well, right?”
He eagerly nodded as he gulped.
"You're such a good boy Tadashi…" you softly kissed him on the lips, after taking out the "gag" out of his mouth, vaguely able to taste yourself, before finally leaving the room.
The panties you were wearing were soaked in your excitement… Maybe that you should lend it to him as a reward tonight? He surely would be the happiest.

instead of you [part seventeen]
pairing: [best friend’s brother] tom holland x college!reader
summary: you didn’t expect to spend your summer pretending to be your best friend’s girlfriend- then again, you didn’t expect to fall for your best friend’s brother, either.
warnings: swearing, mentions of alcohol +sex
word count: 1.5k
series masterlist
The flight from Naples to Tokyo took fourteen hours, not including the two and a half hour layover in Istanbul, meaning you had sixteen and a half hours to sit in awkward tension-filled silence next to Sam. The tension was one-sided, of course, but it was still agonizing to endure.
You had been able to push your anxiety aside during your last day in Italy because it had been so busy. There had been a power outage in the middle of the night, causing everyone to oversleep and miss the ferry for one of your tours that morning. It had been a scramble to get back on schedule and do as much as possible with the time you had left. The boys had been hungover and their parents were tired of wrangling them. You had dozens of photos on your camera roll of Sam and Harry bickering when they were supposed to be posing for a nice picture, and even more of Tom flicking them off.
But now you were stuck alone with your thoughts, unable to use distraction as a means to escape. You tried reading your book, but found yourself unable to concentrate on the words on the page. After staring at the same paragraph for over fifteen minutes Sam noticed and asked if you were okay and you finally decided to call it quits.
You almost wished the Hollands hadn’t scheduled in a day and a half to adjust to the time zone change. You’d rather exhaust yourself with the nonstop tourist bullshit than have to cope with the reality that you had gotten off to thoughts about your best friend’s brother. Not to mention living with the secret that the same best friend’s brother had kissed you not long before that.
If Sam noticed anything was off, he didn’t mention it. He probably chalked it up to lack of sleep, or perhaps was too tired himself to care.
“Which one of us do you think will be randomly selected in customs today?” Harry asked, stretching his arms above his head.
You were standing in the aisle waiting to deplane, placing bets on who’d get searched by border agents this time. Somehow each time you traveled to a new place one of you was always chosen to get pat down or have your carry-on searched. Tom had yet to be the lucky winner, and you suspected it had something to do with his celebrity status.
“Y/n,” Tom answered easily. “She has the U.S. passport.”
You rolled your eyes. “Like England has a squeaky clean record with Japan.”
“At least we didn’t-”
“Bro, you can’t say the b word on a plane,” Harry interrupted.
“Even when the plane’s on the ground?”
Sam shrugged. “Better safe than sorry.”
“Whatever,” Tom continued. “It’s definitely going to be y/n.”
-
“Would you mind stepping out of line, ma’am?”
You sighed, not even bothering to look back at the boys. You already knew they were grinning like idiots and you didn’t want to give them the satisfaction. The agent ushered you to the side behind a glass partition, but not before you heard another agent repeat the same question to one of the Hollands. You smiled to yourself, happy not to be the only one singled out.
Behind the privacy screen another agent greeted you and asked you to take your sweatshirt off, explaining that it was too baggy and needed to be checked. You saw other people in baggy clothes who weren’t getting pulled out of line, but assumed they didn’t have the red flag of “U.S. Citizen” printed on their identification that would be cause for any additional suspicion. You complied with the agent’s request and pulled your sweatshirt off for them to further inspect.
You were glad you’d worn a sports bra underneath your sweatshirt because you usually didn’t wear anything underneath them. As soon as your head was out of the pullover you immediately met by Tom’s polite smile.
He averted his eyes as soon as he saw you, pausing his conversation with the official to mumble a quiet ‘sorry’ to you as he was shown to the spot next to yours.
You zoned out as they spoke, only aware of him again when he started unbuckling his belt. You caught his eye this time.
“Forgot to take it off,” he explained.
“Sweatshirt’s too loose.”
You both faced forward as the customs officials proceeded through the motions. You were stuck standing there half-naked with your arms wrapped around your chest self-consciously while an agent pat Tom’s legs down.
“Dad said we can meet them at baggage claim,” Tom said after a few moments of silence between the two of you. “They went on without us.”
“Okay,” you squeaked back in response.
You knew it wouldn’t take long, but it still made you nervous to be alone with Tom. Sam was like a safety blanket, or a buffer between you and him and without him you were afraid it would be painfully awkward.
The woman handed you your sweatshirt back and you had to wait for Tom outside of the screening area. He joined you a minute or so later.
“They find any dirt on you?” you asked from where you were leaning against the wall across from the exit.
“Nope, you?”
“Yeah, actually I’m in custody right now. Can’t believe you missed the handcuffs.”
“Man, what’d they get you for?”
“Identity theft,” you sighed.
“Damn, that’s a bummer,” Tom replied, false sympathy rolling off his words.
He cocked his head in the direction the rest of his family had went, indicating that you should get going, and held out a hand to pull you upright. You took it hesitantly and let him help you.
“I was actually hoping you could bail me out?” you went on, continuing with the bit.
Tom made a sound through his teeth and grimaced. “I’m kinda broke right now.”
“Aren’t you an actor?”
“Sorry, but I think you have me confused with someone else.”
“No, you’re definitely the guy!”
“You’re thinking of Tom Hiddleston,” he insisted.
“Remember that IOU you gave me? I’m cashing it in now.”
“That’s not how it works!”
You laughed. “No, but if I ever actually get arrested I’m using my IOU to get you to bail me out of jail.”
“I don’t think that a kiss and getting bailed out of prison are comparable, but I didn’t put any conditions on that postcard, did I?”
“Nope!” You smiled happily.
“Well that’s on me, so...”
You took the shuttle together to the other side of the airport where the rest of the Hollands were waiting and finally found them with all of your luggage at the furthest carousel from the entrance.
“It’s about time!” Harry yelled over the crowd as soon as he saw you.
Sam grinned when he saw you and you couldn’t help but grin back. He wrapped an arm around you instinctively and you relaxed into his shoulder, relieved to be with him again. It hadn’t dawned on you until that moment just how attached you were, but you didn’t have time to dwell on it because the other Hollands were all looking at you expectantly.
“Did everything go okay?” Nikki asked.
Tom nodded. “They made y/n strip, but it was uneventful otherwise.”
You pursed your lips, cheeks burning. “It was just my sweatshirt!” you hissed to Sam.
“Yeah, but you never wear anything under your sweatshirts!” Sam hissed back.
“I had a bra on this time.”
“Oh, so it was just another night at the bar for you?” You wrestled yourself out of Sam’s grasp at that and glared. “Am I wrong?”
Sam’s dad cut in before you could respond. He had a habit of calling “family meetings” in the middle of public spaces to finalize plans and get everybody on the same page, which was always an experience.
“Alright, gather up, gang!” he said, beckoning you all closer. “So we’ll be staying at... this hotel,” he explained and turned his phone around to show you the name of it. “And the thing is, we have two rooms to share between the six of us. One for your mother and I, and another for you four.”
“What?” Sam asked. “You’re going to make us stay with them?”
“I thought we were getting three rooms like every other time,” Tom chimed in.
“We were meant to, but I made a mistake when booking it,” Dom clarified.
“How?”
“The entire website was in Japanese, Sam. I don’t know Japanese!”
“Dad, Google has a translate webpage option!” Harry groaned.
“Well no one told me that while I was booking this entire trip by myself!”
You traded a look with Tom, who looked just as panicked as you felt. But it would only be for a week. You would find a way to manage. You didn’t really have any other option.
“I’m sure it’ll be fun,” Sam tried, forcing a smile.
“That’s the spirit!” Dom cheered. “We’ll make it work.”
sorry she’s short this week :( but lmk what you think i always appreciate feedback!!

(This post contains OMITB S1-3 spoilers.) I really hope to all the gods that they're going somewhere with this because:
(Buckle up!)
A) My sister thinks Joy will be the murderer in the future and I just really hate the idea of that happening to Charles TWICE (especially after Joy told him she initially thought "this man dies alone"). Come on, let's please not make it a JOKE that Charles is MEANT to be alone because he's only attracted to murderers. That's cruel. Please tell my sister that. B) I just don't understand Charles feeling so sorry for this fish that he carried it around with him, but as far as we know he never tried ONE SINGLE TIME to try to get Joy back.
He just thinks that if Joy decreed it, it must be. His life is the glass pitcher that Joy put him into.
He can't even cry about it. It pisses me off, honestly, because he is SO proactive in other ways. Like when Jan was trying to kill him, in his own mind he was being a hero, helping to bring her down. When it came down to it and they needed to record the police interviews in his dressing room, he managed to make it through his entire song without going to the white room or making an omelet. Any time they need pictures of people for the murder board, he pretends to take selfies so they can get them. He defended Mabel when they caught and followed her with "tie dye guy" ... but he questioned whether Joy was the murderer and was afraid to ask her about it?
WTF, Charles?
That just seems a little bit out of character to me. ... Except for one thing -- it wasn't JOY's integrity that he questioned. He questioned himself -- his ability to choose a partner, his ability to interact with people. It was never Joy he didn't trust. It was himself. Just like Sazz says, in so many words. The Jan situation must have really thrown him.
Some people here have said that they felt Joy was trying to change Charles into a person he just isn't, but I disagree. It seemed to me that Joy accepted his faults. In fact, she listed how she looked past several of them right before she left. She was very considerate of his needs when they moved in together after MONTHS of dating and made sure to ask him if he felt "it was too much" aka "Are you overwhelmed by this?" She knew being that close would be a huge change for "Charlie" and she was thoughtful and careful about it until he assured her it was fine.
And to just BELIEVE him when he assured her, and not question whether he was in denial or lying, showed that she had faith in him to tell her the truth.
Maybe she was overly optimistic or even naive. I think she realized that later.
When she found out... - That he had questioned whether she murdered Ben.... - That he had ACCIDENTALLY proposed to her and never admitted it, even through all the wedding planning.... - That Charles had talked to not just Sazz but also Oliver and Mabel about her behind her back.... ...all while she's the one he's in an intimate relationship with, she's his chosen partner, he climbs into bed with her (often twice a day), she's the one that he should feel most comfortable confiding in when he's questioning the world ... THAT BROKE HER HEART.
It wasn't just a matter of Charles not being open. It was that while all that was going on, while they made plans about aisles and decorations and where they would get their wedding cake, he questioned her, and therefore their relationship was not as solid as she had been led to believe.
And for that matter, what kind of best friends convince a guy who is in a seemingly happy relationship that he would be happier alone?
For the sake of his play, Oliver literally convinced Charles to break up with Joy, and we know the rest of THAT story, Matthew Broderick. When the breakup finally did happen -- after Charles realized he did not want to be alone -- neither Mabel or Oliver offered any comfort, encouragement, or much sympathy. I think they were glad to see Joy AND joy go, which is entirely unfair in that 1. they encouraged him to be with Jan, 2. Mabel has had at least 3 relationships, and 3. Oliver is in love with Loretta (and she looked far more like the murderer for a while than Joy ever did).
It's one thing to not want competition for your best friend but Joy didn't seem to ever discourage the OMITB obsession or murder investigation. Yes, she thought it would be good for their relationship when Death Rattle ended on opening night, but once Death Rattle Dazzle was going strong, she not only tried to help Charles get through his patter song block but even helped Ben with his makeup on opening night -- without a single complaint.
All three of our heroes or antiheroes in this show are deeply flawed, even horrible people sometimes, and that's why we love them.
But in conclusion of point B, Joy is the victim in all this. I think she truly loves Charles and MIGHT be the only person in existence that really sees him and wants what is best for HIM -- him as an individual. And all she wants from him is that same consideration.
She saw the winks in the mirror and the kick in his step years ago. What does he see in her?
I am just so aggravated at that entire situation!!
And finally
C) President McKinley. The fish is a parallel to Charles, obviously. He is "meant to be alone." Charles feels so sorry for President McKinley after Joy leaves, and identifies with him so much, that he worries and carries the damn fish around with him and tries to find him water when he thinks the bag is leaking. I don't think the bag was even leaking. Do you? I think maybe that was Charles's psychological way of crying and releasing his grief. (Let's not even try to get into the symbolism of a toilet or being trapped in a room with a smoke/fog machine.)
Why in the world is that fish's name President McKinley? "I always wanted to be friends with a president but this one is a bully." What?
The real President McKinley was a controversial figure. He took a pay cut when he stopped being a lawyer to be a politician. He also furthered American imperialism. He was staunchly against slavery and fought in the Civil War. And he also did very little to help black people who were being harassed and attacked in the USA during his presidency. He defended a group of striking miners against their mining companies and all but one of them were acquitted.
And President McKinley was MURDERED. But he also called off the mob that might have killed his assassin. He has an interesting story, and I find it very interesting that of all the presidents, Joy named her fish after him.
What's that about?
In conclusion, there are so many reasons for this story between Charles, Joy, and this fish to be headed somewhere. And this is the kind of stupid detail I get hyperfixated on and it ends up making or breaking a show for me.
Don't disappoint me, OMITB!!
Okay I’m finally watching omitb season 3 and it may be the sleep deprivation talking but charles’s dumb loser ass truly loving and completely failing to care for his breakup fish is like. Doing something to me. I’ve nearly got tears in my eyes right now he’s such a pathetic old man
