This is going to be a strange question, I think. I'm in the Naruto fandom peripherally. Kind of on again-off again, but I've always loved Itachi. I'm in another fandom as well, but I've run up against a similar issue in adoring controversial figures in the works. With your other asks, you come across as very much put-together. Seen it all twenty years ago kind of thing. So I was hoping for some advice.
How do you handle a fandom that treats a favored character poorly? It's not just the weird hatred, but it delves a little deeper. Like in fanworks that display the character as being a pedo even though it's not just unsubstantiated in canon, but pretty antithetical to the character himself. I can block and mute people on AO3 and other areas, but I guess it just gets to me. I know it shouldn't. Maybe I'm hoping for a coping mechanism or something.
Thank you for your time!
I think the deeper the love for the character is, the more it will piss you off. And the only way to survive this is that we grow a thicker skin. Even then, it can get under your skin, so I totally understand how you feel. I've always been drawn towards unpopular characters or the characters who were hated in the fandoms, so it's been hard for me to get into those fandoms, and if I did, staying in them was painful. Although, I've been active in only one fandom before Naruto, and it was exhausting there too.
The best way to deal with it would be that you ignore all the negative content on the characters and discuss things in your own little circle. When you write fics or create art, expect that circle to be your main audience. Everything else positive is just bonus. I avoid googling stuff about Naruto because I end up disliking most of the nonsense that's available on the characters. I haven't seen Itachi's portrayal as a pedo anywhere (are people writing that shit too about him, huh?), but I'm aware there are fics in which he's portrayed as a cold/abusive/manipulative person, which is completely not his canon personality. If there are people who believe those things, no way they're not writing anything like that in their fics, too.
And another thing he's a victim of (other than having a cancerous fanbase that measures his goodness as a person and a character based on his strength and skills instead of his complexity - which any sane fans of his would find disturbing) is all the misinformation about him. Why did they choose him to spread hate so much with all this. It's just so weird. These people aren't as intelligent as they think they are. And for me, it's super hard to take them seriously, because how do I take into account the opinions of the people who lack critical thinking and reading comprehension?
Sometimes I feel the foundation of the fandoms isn't love for the characters, but hypocrisy because so many feelings are involved and people don't realize when they're falling into this trap. They love one character for one thing in one fandom and then end up hating another character for the same thing in the same (or another) fandom.
For example, Itachi is an irredeemable criminal for killing people (after being groomed for years by adults around him) because he's pro-Konoha. But killing people if you're against the system is totally okay and characters like Madara/Pain/Obito shouldn't be antagonized for waging wars and dragging millions of innocent people into their ambitions more than Itachi ever did. Their manipulation, slow poisoning of the people's minds they influenced to achieve their goals is completely alright, solely because they're just trying to change the system. Similarly, Sasuke is "emo and edgy" for not being the sunshine after all the horrors he lived through and then wanting to destroy Konoha, but Obito waging war on the world makes him a "broken hero." These two species live on two different planes - one is dominant on Tumblr and the other on Insta (and both are probably on other platforms too, idk).
I guess it all will always be there. And so will the people who mischaracterize Itachi, Sasuke, and other characters. You can control some things but not everything. I've been in the fandom for a year or so, and I'm still ignorant about most of the things here other than ships. Basically this:
I might have gone off the tangent and I hope you got some answer you were looking for.

Ya know, I imagine if someone highlighted the difference between how a lot of fandom treats Lila & Chloe VS Gabriel & Nathalie the justification might be:
"Well, Gabriel & Nathalie are supervillain evil, unrealistic, Lila & Chloe are petty, annoying real world bad which is familiar & so less fun."
The issue is, Gabriel & Nathalie are 100% on the petty, realistic, annoying train of villainy and if anything are much worse & less fun.
What with Chloe on her evil train still needing to rely on Gabriel's pettiness to impact Adrien, or them commissioning Lila to damage Adrien's relationships. At least Chloe's dramatic & bombastic.
Not sure where I am going with this.
I think its just vexing to see fan stuff, especially really good fan stuff, give say, Nathalie a redemption arc, or Gabriel tons of depth. But then turn around and say Chloe & Lila are just dumb, nasty & or bad.
Even in stuff where they aren't portrayed as monsters they still tend to get shafted in favor of abusive adults who should have known better compared to kids actively raised to do bad things or led into it.
You're gonna tell me the 13-14 year old girl able to con at least 3 women into thinking that she's their daughter and keep up three whole identities while also getting dirt on the local supervillain to /become/ the new local supervillian
is more 'realistic' than a father who only sees his son as his precious little doll that should do whatever he asks without question?

Hi! I recently come across your art on pinterest and found your blog thanks to the link. I apologize in advance for the errors in the text, because I speak English poorly, I write through a translator (hello from Russia!). I just want to thank you for the atmospheric and cute drawings (of Daryl and Beth), I often review them. I am also an artist, I have an audience (1,500 people have subscribed to me on the VKontakte social network), and I wanted to ask you if you have come across any hate to the fact that you paint Bethyl? If you have encountered this, how did you react to it? On Pinterest, I often noticed people who strongly hate Bethyl, saying that they have a big age difference and other age-related arguments (in my personal opinion, meaningless arguments that can be strongly argued with, but it's still a shame when cute pairing is condemned from scratch). Because of such people, I'm a little afraid to share the art related to this couple. Your advice will be useful to me. Thanks in advance for the answer!❤️
Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words, and for your ask. I'm always excited to meet other artists and fans who support bethyl. They are a beautiful ship. I love to hear that you have a following for your art in your home country. I would love to support your art. If you ever consider sharing it on tumblr, or if there's a way for me to find it on pinterest or elsewhere, please let me know!! The bethyl community here is still active and very supportive.
In response to your question: Yes, I have received hate on my art. And I know that many of my friends and our fellow shippers have also received hate even just for posting their opinions about bethyl online. It's unfortunately not that uncommon, though as I've heard, it used to be a LOT worse. Unfortunately, there are people on the internet who think that they are a kind of "morality police." It's usually because they simply want another character to end up with Daryl in the show, so they use any excuse to invalidate ships they don't agree with. For bethyl, that happens to be the age gap. It often results in all kinds of bullying. Name-calling, harassment, etc. I've seen people refer to Beth as a "kid," even as that is clearly a lie.
As you said, and as we see here, there are of course arguments to be made, ie: Daryl and Beth are both adults, it's a fantasy, it's a fictional apocalypse setting, shipping something or liking something in fiction doesn't mean you'd condone it in reality, etc. etc. etc. Unfortunately with these people, none of that stuff matters. It doesn't feel good.
SO. The best way to deal with it is mostly to just ignore it. In the past, I've mostly just told people to go away. If you're being harassed, block the person, report them on your platform if possible. The last thing I try to do is argue with them, because it's pointless. I also try not to let it affect me and my love for bethyl and my experience as a fan artist too much. The thing to remember is that bethyl was and still is very popular. Most people don't care about the age difference. Most people aren't sitting around and thinking up ways to make other fans miserable. Being a part of a community, if possible, is the best way to fortify yourself against antisocial bullies. Having friends and mutuals on your platforms who lift up your art and support you, and who you support in return, is the best defense against haters. I have made many friends in this fandom who I will cherish always. That's why I am here.
On that note, try not to be afraid to share art of the couple you love. This is a hobby, a passion that we take part in for free. And there is nothing morally wrong or "problematic" with bethyl. Haters will make that claim, because they will say anything to bring other people down. If people are put off by the age difference, that is of course their right. They are entitled to their opinion. But that is JUST their opinion. It doesn't mean that their opinion is more correct or better than anyone else's, no matter what they say, and it DEFINITELY doesn't justify hate and abuse. So surround yourself with friends and a community of people you enjoy. Even if it is very small, it's enough! Ignore the haters, and block/report them if they become a problem. They will always be there, as haters are a fact of life. So we just have to persevere. That's my advice. I'm very flattered that you would ask for it ❤️

I don't understand why zutarans think that Dante Brasco and a writer or two shipping zutara means anything. This mostly applies to the writers, but do they seriously not understand that people who work on tv shows aren't a hive mind and are allowed to indulge in non canon ships for funsies? Like, pick any random tv show or movie or whatever with an active shipping scene, and that writer's room is probably filled with crack shippers. That doesn't mean they hate the main couple. Just means they're regular nerds like the rest of us. And just because they like a non canon ship doesn't mean that person secretly plotting for it to be canon. Like they have this bizarre fantasy of a cartoonishly evil Byrke looming over the writers and artists on the show with whips to make sure they don't write or draw Zuko and Katara making out like they all really want to. I've seen zutarans speak about the show's staff as if they deeply regret not making zutara canon and aren't deeply proud of the work they did on the show. I can't speak for the staff but I feel comfortable believing that they're perfectly fine with the outcome of the show, it's legacy and probably don't think Aang is the devil incarnate because he kissed Katara and not Zuko
As for Dante Brasco, yeah that dude can be weird about the zutara but he's just a voice actor. He has no creative input or control over the show and I think he only pushes zutara because it means more attention and focus for Zuko which means more attention for himself which he likes and probably hopes will somehow lead to a career boost or at least more Zuko work.
Zutarians are still obsessed with "winning" a ship war that they already lost all the way back in the mid 2000s. They cannot understand that to any sane person, the writers very much included, shipping is supposed to be about fun. They think any writer saying "I like Zutara" means "I hate Kataang/Bryke and hated working on the series" because they only work in extremes. "One us or one of them."
Also I've literally never seen Dante be "weird" about Zutara or any ship and each time people bring it up the exemple is always "Oh, he's an adult talking about a ship between children" like all the romance in the show wasn't written by adults, and like most of the fandom aren't adults themselves. Like you pointed out, talking about stuff related to one of the most famous characters he ever played is part of his job. He'd be weird if he was harassing people over it like lots of zutara fans do, but he isn't.

🔥🔥🔥 abt beavising butthead...share as many hot takes as you want i'd looooove to hear your thoughts and feelings :3
OH BOY OH BOY *cracks knuckles*
Obsession with which character has the "highest moral ground" is tired and unnecessary. Especially for a program like Beavis and Butt-Head. I've noticed a lot in cartoon fandoms there seems to be a focus some people have on which character is "evil and bad" and which is "pure and good". I don't know where this concern stems from, but it doesn't interest or make sense to me. Real people, and therefore fictional characters, are more complex than that. The fact that this argument surrounds young/child characters is even weirder for me, because I find that age is rife with bad behavior. Back to Beavis and Butt-Head though, while I do think a lot of fans are unfairly harsh in their perspective of him. I don't think Beavis is "morally higher" by any standard. They are both horrible teenage boys that find beating the shit out of each other entertaining because there is nothing else to do.
(speaking about the original series here, since I haven't completed the 2011 and 2022 revival yet) While I think the writing got way better and funnier in the later seasons, I kind of miss the "natural edginess" of the earlier "crude era". It has this messiness that I find super endearing. I can really see how the show got popular with teenagers/young adults back in the day since it really did feel like the script was written by some degenerate boys rather than adults trying to figure out how high schoolers act. There is a lot of horrible topics in the earlier season related to intoxication, animal abuse, and general illegal activity. A lot of it is 100% shock value. I'm glad it moved away from that, but also I admire the...grungey realism, I guess.
A lot of older fans complain about Beavis and Butt-Head reacting to clips of TV shows in the 2011 season and Youtube videos in the 2022 revival. I personally love it. I think they should react to everything possible. Some of their best lines come from their impressions of this stuff. I don't care if it is just being used as a way to "promote" that content. The music video reactions are doing the same thing. It is all promotion. Just very creative and based on hating which is inherently more entertaining. On that note, I've also seen the complaint by OG fans going around about how Beavis and Butt-Head feel like they aren't "metal-heads" anymore? Or it is just not as overt in their characters anymore since they don't react to metal music as much as they did in the original run. Personally, I...don't think they are any less metal-heads now than they were before. Maybe they aren't exclusively defined by it like they were in the first episodes. I think the question of "why is there less metal music in the show" has more to do with music culture when the show airs than it does with the actual writing. Which is kind of interesting. Generally, metal and rock doesn't make up popular music spheres the same way it did in the 80s and 90s. There is still rock music, but I don't find a lot of popular stuff being extremely "heavy" starting around the mid 2000s when the 2011 series was airing. If you'll allow me to get deep for a sec. The choices of what Beavis and Butt-Head react to during the show's entire run is a pretty interesting picture of popular US culture, actually. Anyway...I do think they could hit a bit heavier and varied in their music choices in the new season. Have them listen to hyperpop or something. I think they would love 100 gecs.

Holy fandom this shit is big.
Okay, so I've been exploring the Simon Snow fandom this evening, and now my head is exploding.
I feel kind of old. Or maybe just late. Or both. I mean, the last time I was active in any fandom was...a very long time ago. Things were smaller. Way smaller. We had forums, and email lists. (I hate how I'm likely dating myself, but I was very young and now I'm no longer so young. It happens to most people.) Anyway, you could be a part of a fandom and actually get to know just about everyone in it. Maybe this also had something to do with my choices of fandom, but it was also before the big explosion of social media that brought everybody else to the internet, clogging it all up. (I'm not bitter.)
So now, I'm adult-aged (I hate saying that though, it feels like there are expectations). And I just read this amazing trilogy of books, and I think to myself, "You know what? This is worth it. This is worth diving back in, because I bet this fandom is awesome."
This fandom is awesome. And big. Like. You all have wikis to keep track of things, but this stuff has exploded so quickly those wikis aren't even updated (no shame to the wiki-makers, at all cause as I'm saying, this shit is big). The AO3 count is off the charts. You have discord servers and about a million Tumblr pages, and screencapped memes that have become... What do you call it when it's fan-created and not canon, but it's so well known it's like canon? Whatever it is, there's a ton of it. (Everywhere I look, Penelope has purple hair.)
I have to say, I am simultaneously thrilled with this and intimidated as hell. Every time I think I have something new to say, I find someone else has already said it. This makes me a little nervous about saying anything because this thing is so big I can't possibly know for sure I'm not repeating something that's practically old hat to the rest of the fandom. Like, "Yeah, sure, we see your point, but we saw that point in 2019, here's a link to the original post."
*deep breath*
I will never catch up on fanfic. Not ever. (I'm going to try, and I'm kissing my goodreads yearly read goal goodbye to do it, but still.)
Curse me and my policy of waiting until all the books are out before reading them...
I've never seen anything like this fandom. I've never tried to throw myself into anything like this fandom. If you're at all concerned, I am absolutely still throwing myself into this fandom, and I'm going to write fanfic (slowly), and draw (eventually), and I will quite willingly wear the big HI I'M NEW HERE WHERE IS REGISTRATION? sticker on my forehead. Because, I mean, it's Snowbaz. What wouldn't I do for them?
I just thought you should know. This is big. And I love it. But seriously, freaking huge. (Yeah, I can hear myself. "That's what she said." There you go. XD)
*ahem* Carry on.
(Edit to add: I've continued my dive since writing this and I literally am sitting at my desk, clicking, saying, "Oh my God, you guys are amazing." Just... over and over. And over. So many clicks. So much amazing. This fandom is dedicated and I love it so damned much.)
#yes i made a very lame pun at the end and i'm only slightly embarrassed by it#simon snow#snowbaz#carry on#carry on simon#the simon snow trilogy#fandom#fandom culture#simon snow fandom#i also love Fangirl is that a thing too?#rainbow rowell#this fandom rocks#you all are amazing

Yuuppp. Everyone is focusing on the more egregious dm from the other account and ignoring the way he actively put one fan in the cross-hairs of a whole fandom. I don't think it was *malicious* but it was very predictable and unnecessary. (I'm also just very wary of when fans aren't able to acknowledge their fave may have made a mistake. I still love oliver! I just also think he messed up here.)
Yes exactly!! And he is an adult with lots of resources so lashing out should not be his only option, especially when it’s because of something that literally doesn’t matter at all.
I have said for years that he should figure out a better way to deal with his social media if it really takes this much out of him. He could hire a social media manager who posts for him and reads comments for him so he doesn’t have to. He should stop doing q&as or if he does want to do them, let someone else pick the questions for him so he doesn’t have to see the weird stuff. Disable all commenting. Set clear boundaries to how you want strangers to interact with you.
Obviously there should be a line that we should never cross when we interact with these people and all fandom stuff should stay in fandom spaces, that is also true. And obviously the more serious stuff like threats should never be tolerated. But I don’t think it’s that funny when he says something mean and there’s no real reason for it. If your tolerance for stupidity is this low you need to log off. Send screenshots to your friends and complain privately how insane your fans are. Now he basically sent those same people he thinks are insufferable to a fan’s account to wreak havoc.
I do love him too but I am not going to defend him when he acts like this. And I’m just seriously sick of people letting their faves get way with everything. He is a rich, white 33 year old man. He does not need me to defend him, especially when he’s also at fault in this situation.

I agree with everything you said in your response to that ask. It's obvious Chaggie wasn't something she was always going for. What confuses me is her mindset of, well now that it's canon, I don't have to put in any work for this ship. Excuse me? What? Has Viv never shipped before. That's not how canon works. You have to make ppl care about the ship and she or the writers haven't done that. How is Chaggie good enough to become canon because of some fanart but not good enough for you to flesh out their relationship for ppl to care about? That's dumb as hell. For all that, she should've had them stay platonic. I'm not even a Chaggie shipper but the fact that the creator of this ship doesn't even care about them is disgusting. Nobody told her to make them happen. She did that herself.
Let's be honest, she's likely been on the internet long enough to know what shipping is, explaining her more cavalier attitude on fans shipping which used to be the norm. Her "ship what you want but don't be a dick to other people" attitude is precisely what old fandom used to be like before the influx of what I can only describe as normies decided they wanted to be a part of fandom.
See, the thing about the old internet (and by that I mean before the rise of mainstream social media platforms like Facebook, insta, Twitter, etc.) the internet by and large was by nerds for nerds. We kept the shit we liked online to ourselves irl and we definitely didn't talk directly to creators because it was understood that there was an invisible line we knew not to cross. You didn't harass actors or writers trying to get what you want. But the rise of mainstream meant the rise of accessibility to creators, and the trolls morphed into something much worse.
Look up the fiasco with Alex Brightman during the height of Beetlejuice on Broadway. The poor man was stalked, harassed, and asked over and over again if he condoned Beetlebabes, a ship which had kept that fandom alive for well over 30 years. Until he eventually released a statement so carefully combed over by PR experts only the people who lack media literacy took it at face value. It didn't reflect any previous attitudes he had on anything, and moreover it doesn't align with his current views considering the projects he's actively working on. In reality I don't think the man really gives a shit what people ship he was just sick of the harassment and likely worried that public outcries of him being a pedophile because of a fictional ship because he didn't actively condemn it and call for the harassment of people who did like it would ruin his career.
I have several friends who have come to hazbin from Beetlejuice, and many of them have met him pre pandemic. All of them say he's a lovely and sweet man with a good sense of humor. But imagine going through all he went through for over a year. Viv, and I hate to say it, went through something similar. I was pissed to find out toxic charlastor shippers on Twitter were harassing her to make it canon. So if that ship squicks her out now? I honestly don't blame her. Things are even more sticky with wlw or any gay relationships where you legitimately aren't allowed to portray them as complex or problematic. One thing I've noticed in particular is that male and straight ships are allowed to be as grossly sexualized as anything but women (or femme identified characters) cannot.
Look at all the chaggie art, not a single sexual thing. Even their official pinup stuff is fairly tame. Look at the Vees, despite the fact that velvette is an adult woman who died and is dating... Valentino I think? All the fandom sees is two gay dads and their uwu not sexually active daughter. Same with radioapple come to think of it, Charlie becomes a fully non sexual, almost Madonna figure in relation to the overt sexual nature of the gay ships. I'm guessing some of that still internalized homophobia and kink phobia coupled with sexist attitudes of what women can and cannot be interested in. Lesbian ships cannot be interested in sex, they must be pure and good. Meanwhile there's no end to overtly sexual art of the gay ships across the hellaverse. And the fans get rabid when any female ship isn't innately good and pure.
Another real world example; people flipped their shit when catradora became explicitly canon at the end of the she ra reboot. Because catra had gone through a corruption arc before a redemption one and therefore was forever culpable for the crimes she committed when in an obvious downward mental spiral after a life raised under an abusive mother figure and being abandoned by the person closest to her, and the major brainwashing of the Horde, but we don't have time to unpack all that. Ironic that in a show all about second chances and becoming better than the person you were these attitudes are still pervasive and ugly huh?
To a certain extent I think Viv has been on the internet long enough that she's seen what happens to creators who don't "perfectly" encapsulate a gay romance. Which means that it's unique while also being applicable to everyone. Totally an achievable standard right? (Insert sarcastic eye roll here). For her, I think making chaggie as boring in canon as possible was probably the safest move she could think of. I will critique it from a writing standpoint but overall it was the smartest choice to avoid backlash. I still prefer Vaggie/Emily and charlastor because it's two vastly most interesting dynamics, but I get why the writers might have been wary.
Sorry for the rant but unfortunately the depiction of chaggie wasn't created solely in a vacuum and there's a lot of cross fandom history context that needed to be brought up to explain why chaggie is the animated tofu of hazbin hotel ships.
#dream replies#dream answers#fandom stuff#fandom history#hazbin hotel#ch/aggie#meta commentary#you have to look at the doylist explanation to understand the canon here#no one likes their female couples to be problematic

Hey hey, I saw your tweets about mgs fans who have proship DNI in their profiles being absolute morons and hypocrites and I just want to say THANK YOU because I feel like I’m losing brain cells over having to wade through so much bullshit in the metal gear fandom of all things. We might have a different focus on what blorbos we have (I’m more on the mgr side of the fandom but love the entire franchise) but I just wanted to send a big 🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝 because booooy does it feel lonely here sometimes.
It’s especially funny because when you think about it, the biggest proshipper in the metal gear fandom would be Kojima himself. Idk how people get into mgs and have never looked up the big words they put in their mouths even once. Like how can someone live like that, getting into a series that is supposed to make you THINK about what happens and how it’s a reflection of real world issues, and then turn around and parrot some right wing rhetorics repackaged as fandom “activism” 24/7, inherently contradicting that you even understood what these games were about despite claiming so otherwise.
It’s so… brainless and boring and as someone who loves to discuss the complexity of this franchise (and things in general), I am glad to come across a likeminded person in this fandom.
Like man I felt like I’m getting to old for this, I got into mgs before anti ship as we have it now was even a thing in the internet. But seeing that you’re about a decade younger than me and get that all of this stuff is horseshit, I feel like I am not losing hope 😅😅
I hope you’re having a great day :]
Also I love your art 🫶
Hey there!! Thanks so much for the kind message, I mean it 🥹🫶 I love MGR too!! I was so obsessed w it as a kid. I had my Raiden phase too~ (Still kinda am! That game awakened my love of mecha.) This is my first time dipping my toes into the MGS fandom. Coming from someone who usually lurks in smaller fan spaces, and said fan spaces are largely pro-fic, I really didn't expect the onslaught of antis interacting w my art hahaha! I was ripping my hair out vetting new followers that came into my twitter. Metal gear is a game filled with so much political commentary, I think I expected... more critical thinking y'know? The fans you mentioned are probably just as bad as the fanboys who think whatever went between BB and ocelot is just a 'russian taunt' I agree w/ what you said Kojima being profic LOL The man hated to have his life's work censored. To him, games aren't only a medium for his stories, but it's also a way to express his opinions & ideas. MGS in particular, it's about war. How war affects regular people, the devastation it brings them. How the fuckheads behind it are orchestrating it, taking advantage of the military industrial complex (To quote Kaz, "And war will become a business...") I'm again reminded of that analysis you rb'd from me: "Peace is only possible in the case of war criminals when they’ve been buried." I can't fathom how so many people missed that message in MGSV. As you said, it seems like people are fucking blind to the fact that their faves are bad people. They are war criminals! Some people in fandom acting like they are above it all, saying 'proshitter dni' and repeating fascist talking points is just so... I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Because you are either that dense, or media illiterate or emotionally unintelligent or... something ! Most that I've seen so far who do this are teenagers, which okay. They are still figuring things out, I can excuse them a little bit. But there are adults over 20 who do this too and I'm just... wow. You know? To stand for Antis is to stand for censorship in fiction. And that goes against everything that Kojima believes. Haha dw there are people my age who aren't this stupid! I've been hanging out in more profic spaces and they're out there. You're not alone friend!! I hope you have a nice day too :] Lmk if you wanna be mutuals on twitter! 🌻

new pinned post ogh
hi everyone 😁 this is my blog for my hazbin hotel rewrite, purgatory hotel! I post updates on Instagram under the username purgatory_hotel. there's a mini hiatus since I'm working on finishing the first chapter then uploading it bit by bit
for as long as I've known about it, hazbin hotel hasn't really entered my mind like. at all. until the show came out. this is because I kept seeing other people's reimagining of these characters and so I got invested (and also I recognised Keith David so I decided to watch it 😭)
I don't really like the show to be honest. some bits made me laugh but it wasn't really my cup of tea, although the concept itself is good!
uhhh. uh byf and all that:
purgatory hotel isn't a project made from spite (even if the spite store arc of curb your enthusiasm was one of the funniest /silly) but it's just me fixating on something for no real reason and getting silly with it
I don't really post criticism unless it's relevant to my rewrite or if I feel like yapping. however I would like to run over Valentino and canon Stolas with a combine harvester. if that upsets you then I suggest you stay away
I don't think ph is "better" than hazbin hotel either. obviously I prefer it because it's my own project, but again this isn't a thing I did out of spite, even if I personally don't really like the creator
hellaverse fans are free to interact/follow so long as you're not a prick
I'm an adult (20 very soon. Christ almighty) this isn't an adults only account but I'd say it's like,,, 13+ for the most part? anything sexual will have a warning and obviously won't be for little uns, but I doubt I'll post anything that is explicitly 18+
dni I guess? typically I just block people who I don't like but idk how to block from a side blog
being against certain identities such as neopronouns or xenogenders. obviously if you don't understand them then that's fine, so long as you're civil and try. I mean actively being a nob about other people's personal identity/expression
fairly obvious but transphobes, homophobes, racists, etc etc. typically I wouldn't put this but I've seen some pretty alarming posts from critics and fans alike
if you're proship in the sense of like. I think this word has lost all meaning but "problematic" shipping. things like incest, abuse, pedophilia. your bog standard toe curling shit. no I'm not referring to people who explore dark and upsetting themes in fiction, I mean people who actively glorify it or find it cute
antis who are horrible to any and all hellaverse fans as well as extreme stans. stans in this context means people who act like any criticism is evil and dreadful and people who fight nail and tooth to defend the creator, regardless of the things she's said and done
tag guide:
#not ph - things that aren't related to purgatory hotel specifically
#viv crit - mainly reblog stuff. primarily for organisational purposes. just things for me to look back on and take into account when working on ph
#fan crit - same for viv crit but surrounding the fandom
#other rewrites / other redesigns - self explanatory. things I like to share and/or take inspiration from
#ask to tag - if there's something that may need a warning but I'm not sure what to put. it's just sort of There. you can send me an ask or a dm telling me if you want me to put a specific tag on something. I'll tag almost anything aside from scars and food and I won't tag for more specific triggers. this is just to prevent me from getting muddled up in case I forget to tag something. this isn't me having a go at people with more specific squicks or triggers (I've many of my own) again it's just to prevent me from getting muddled up

Okay so I’m just now realizing that these books actually have a fandom? And like- more than the original three books?
You’re probably like “oh you poor little anon” but there’s sequels and stuff? There’s MORE? I’m screaming and laughing and crying over here dear god, I’m so incredibly out of touch
I read them years ago and loved them so so much and now desperately want to reread them all and find every single other book that goes along with them (and if you could provide like. A list of other books? Just explain everything that’s out there?). This is gonna be amazing
this made me smile so much haha, welcome to the party! yeah we definitely exist even if there aren't that many of us - I'm guilty of not being super active myself lately, but I've been a hardcore fan since the late 2000s (posted in an Inkworld-only forum and everything lmao) and am not planning on changing.
sadly it's really mainly the three books, but a sequel is coming sometime in the future, titled The Colour of Revenge. it's going to be Dustfinger and Prince-centric as far as we know, and I don't blame you for being unaware of it because I don't remember seeing much promotion for it in English, if at all. you can read an older (likely obsolete but still interesting) version of some chapters transcribed/translated by @schleierkauz (and other related goodies) here
in addition, Inkworld shares a universe with Cornelia's other series, Reckless, so that's also something you can also check out while waiting for TCoR.
I love rereading these books as an adult, they hold up really well and part of the fun is going 👀 at things you missed as a kid. I hope you'll dive in and join us in our endless, uh, fan activities here!! I need more Inkworld content and couldn't care less about what form it takes - fic, fanart, meta, shitposting, fan music, incoherent yelling, whatever!

Let's Talk Stans For A Second
This post is a long time coming (and will be very long by the end) but I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I'm tired of kpop stans treating adult idols with kid gloves, so here are a list of grievances on this point.
A lot of this mostly applies to bg stans.
Idol Critiques. It's fine if you wanna baby actual minors, but stop excusing every fuck up of adult idols. On the opposite end of the spectrum, stop admonishing other fans (or even casuals) who make entertainment out of the things your favorite member says/does. I don't really stan people but I do have favorite groups/members, so I'll use them for example. I like Yeonjun, some people find him extra. This is not my problem and I don't care. I like some NCT songs. Some people see them as a noise factory. Doesn't matter, it's not their preference. My point is, stop getting mad over people having opinions. As long as no one is like actively in Doyoung's face bullying him or something, I don't see the problem in critiquing/openly disliking something your faves do. And when I say bullying, I really mean bullying (like going to someone's face and harassing them for existing, calling them slurs, insulting them when they've done nothing wrong, etc.). Not stuff like being upset with Dream for constantly bullying Haechan for his weight and skin color.
Idol Perception. So many stans get upset when others' perceptions of their faves aren't the same as theirs. So-called soft stans get upset if you think an idol looks sexy with their hair pushed back. I don't usually see hard stans get upset at soft stans about too many things but I do think they can be very hypocritical about perceiving idols. For example, some hard stans will list out every single thing they want San to do to them but as soon as someone even jokes about Wooyoung being an icon for the bis they get extremely aggressive and protective (even when it's not coming from a sexual angle!!!). It's almost like they see anything non-heteronormative as inherently sexual, but even worse, it's sexual and perverted to them. Suddenly, they're all about protecting the idol's image/privacy/dignity when moments before they were talking about wanting him to cum in their eyeball. And don't get me wrong it happens with soft stans and gg stans too, but I wanted to point out the particular hypocrisy of straight bg stans.
Idol Image. This is very similar to the perception point, but more so about the way so many kpop fans think they know EVERYTHING about their faves including their faves inner thoughts. Do you all know how many times I've heard things like: "OMG!! Don't do/say that because Taehyun doesn't like it!! Source? Just trust me, I have an *emotional connection* with him!!" stated in complete seriousness? It's one thing to JOKE about idols becoming their real selves when they breathe the good old red, white and blue air, but to project your specific thoughts and feelings onto an idol (without clarifying that it's your headcanon) is too much. Y'all do NOT know these people. Joke (and hell even speculate) all you want, but it's obvious to everyone when you've have stopped joking and have crossed the line into wanting to literally just lying about what idols have actually said to fit your narrative of who they are (a good example of this is the unnie/hyung line raised the maknae narrative every fandom has).
Idol Image pt. 2. And on this note, I want to address the other part of the fandom who think any speculation/gossip about an idol is unacceptable/inappropriate/morally wrong. I feel like I've said this in the past but it merits repeating: if you are a public figure, you sign up to be discussed up to a limited extent. Clearly, people should not go out into the world and stalk/harass idols. It's just that idols are not immune from a little drama about being seen at a club or having a significant other, etc. Idols are celebrities. They have a public side and a private side. Obviously, fans need to know the line between harmless gossip (and even news reporting of actual crimes...) and harmful harassment. It seems like fans of non-kpop idols completely understand the assignment. For example, there's gossip all the time about Shohei Ohtani (especially now that he's being accused of federal gambling crimes), but his fans are not out here wearing capes about how you shouldn't discuss certain things because it's *private*. I feel like as long as you're being normal about it (i.e., not harassing idols) and treating gossip as what it is (unconfirmed information), it's human nature to want to know things/know the truth of things that have evidence. Examples of relatively normal gossip includes wanting to know: if an idol has recently had cosmetic/plastic surgery, if an idol is secretly an asshole (or a sweetie pie) off-camera, if an idol endured harsh training conditions (or, alternatively, if they were the golden child who got everything they wanted), etc. Where it crosses the line is trying to find out their address/phone number, unsubstantiated allegations of crimes (like what happened with Beomhan), etc. I feel like people engaging in gossip culture should and often do know the difference between those things but fans treat it all as harmful if it doesn't specifically serve their fave. I can personally attest to seeing the same fans who denounce gossip culture loving that very same thing when it supports their view of their bias. For example, whenever there's rumors about idols who treat staff very well no one has a problem with it. Or rumors about idols practicing all hours of the night (meaning they're a hard worker) or rumors about them being very close to their members (meaning they're a team player), etc. But let there be a harmless rumor that doesn't suit their narrative (like the idol having a romantic partner, the idol being a club bunny, etc.) and suddenly it's "all gossip is bad and I'm better than those who engage in it because what they do offscreen is none of my business." Meanwhile these same people have entire headcanons about their bias based on some cookie crumbs they heard about him being a good person one time. 5. What is a Koreaboo, anyway? In case someone needs to hear this again: liking kpop, being attracted to your bias, learning korean, being interested in Korean culture, and making friends who are Korean doesn't make you a koreaboo. What makes you a koreaboo is reducing korea down to kpop and othering korean things as utopian/godly/divine, when it's just...another country that's different from your own. Too many kpop stans will accuse someone of being a koreaboo when that person is just interested in kpop (or korea because of kpop) when that's not what a koreaboo is. It's like calling a korean person an americaboo because they want to travel to NYC or LA and love American entertainment (dramas, music, etc.). What would make someone an americaboo is if they had an unhealthy obsession with all things US to the point where they had wholly out of touch assumptions about the US and reduced the US down to those few assumptions. THAT's the difference. But liking American movies, culture, celebrities; wanting to learn english; etc. wouldn't make someone an americaboo... So just apply the logic in reverse.
Anyway.

I’m not in the snc fandom by any means and I have no plan to do so but being just a causal fan of them, I have seen the way their fans act towards them, especially Colby. It always leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.
I sincerely wish these guys would start setting more boundaries with their fandom. There are sometimes where I see replies to their tweets or just looking up their users on twitter because I’m a nosy rosey sometimes and the things some of their fans say to them, especially Colby is just horrendous and down right yucky. It seems to be getting worse in my end too. The way some of their fans treat Colby likes he’s stupid, slow or like a child is just so gross. He’s a human being. It’s one thing to make a joke, but it’s another thing to treat him like he was born literally yesterday. It sometimes feels like infantalazation. Like this is a huge problem and I just wish that Colby would put his foot down about it. Hell, when everytime there’s a girl involved in his life everything goes haywire towards him. I just feel so bad for him at this point. if I had fans and they were pulling stuff like this, I wound definitely say something, and start muting/ blocking people if it started getting too much. Maybe Colby hates confrontation which I can totally understand. Maybe he hates drama as well. But if his fans keep getting away with basically being overbearing and weird, they’re never gonna treat him like a human.
I also have a hunch that he might be neurodivergent and has anxiety. I see a lot of myself through him. He does a lot of things I do. But I don’t wanna diagnose him because I personally don’t know him like that. I just hope he has a good head on his shoulders when it comes to this type of stuff. and I also just hope one day some of his fans grow up and stop treating him like he’s a dummy when he’s a very intelligent person. It drives me nuts when people do that to him. He clearly is very smart and very empathetic. A bright soul who deserves so much better. 🩷
this ended up being extremely long so... sorry about that haha
i getchu. i understand not wanting to join this fandom. tbh i only really enjoy the fandom on here and that's about it. insta there barely is a fandom, the tiktok fandom is too young and just makes shit up 90% of the time, and twitter…. is insufferable lol
and i completely agree with you about the treatment of colby. it's a weird mix of both treating him like a sex doll and treating him like a baby, which makes both behaviors all the more gross.
like i'll be honest, i don't love all the decisions he makes, and i have talked about that on here countless times. however, i don't actively tell him on social media how to live his life (aka i don't @ him on twitter when he does something that annoys me like a lot of other fans do). and at the end of the day i accept whatever he wants to do with his life. me complaining on here about some of the questionable ppl he has in his life isn't even half as bad as what i've seen on twitter, especially when it comes to some of the girls he occasionally is seen with.
over the years it's gotten worse, and i'm not sure for what reason. it feels like the fans started out on the right foot. they care about colby and don't want to see him get hurt. and i get that, i feel the same way. but at the same time, he's an adult. and in life you're gonna make some dumb decisions, and be friends with dumb ppl that you shouldn't have been. and that's your choice. and that's your mistake to make.
i think part of it is a lot of fans think they are owed a part of colby's life and having a say in it. maybe bc they've put time, effort, and money into being a fan, maybe it's bc they feel like they are friends with him and thus think they can say shit that a friend would say even tho they are a complete stranger to him. and while i can understand somewhat why someone would feel that way briefly, it doesn't change the fact it's not true. you aren't owed anything just bc you've been here a long time or bc you buy merch. so what. you aren't special in either one of those regards.
and when it comes to colby and his dating life… oh boy, that's where most of the drama lies. again, a lot of it comes from fans not wanting him to date a questionable girl. understandable. i get that protectiveness. however it has become very apparent that NO GIRL is good enough for him. fill in the blank on whatever reason, it doesn't matter. there is not a single girl that exists that everyone in the fandom can agree on. and that just shows that a lot of the concern comes from both jealousy and, if we're being completely honest, misogyny.
certain fans are jealous they will never get a chance to be with him, no matter how many y/n insert fanfics they read. and no girl is good enough bc nine times out of ten the reason is bc of something sexist like she's a slut or a gold digger or isn't pretty enough or is too pretty or isn't as good as other girls.
my favorite phrase, highkey, is when a girl is seen with colby, ppl start hating on her and then when asked why someone doesn't like her they respond with "idk she just gives me a bad vibe." lmao happens like clockwork.
all of this is to say that a lot of fans, while they love colby, don't respect him. they don't trust him to make his own decisions bc in their minds, he can't make the "right" ones. and thus needs to smothered into making the right one. and if he doesn't do that, then he deserves to be bitched at for eternity.
tbh i'm surprised colby tolerates half the fanbase at this point. if the fandom isn't yelling at him for breathing wrong, they're making fun of him. and while it's fine to be playful and banter with him, there's a difference between a one off comment and constantly picking at everything he does down to whether or not he has facial hair. like… why are we talking about his body hair? yall are weird for that one.
if i was colby, i wouldn't have fans anymore. bc i would blocking ppl left right and center. idc that you supported me for a long time, if you're mean to me, you're gone. and i ain't gonna listen to (usually) a child yell at me for fucking a random girl (or maybe not even fucking a random girl). that's why last year i wanted him to go chaos mode. i wanted him to fuck every and any girl that said yes strictly so fans would come to the realization that YOU DON'T CONTROL HIM.
get over it or gtfo. it's really that simple.
and as for whether or not he's neurodivergent, that's obviously something he would have to explore himself. i personally have always thought he might secretly have depression and definitely anxiety since he's talked about that part himself. there's a lot of things he has done in the past that make me think there might be something under the surface and reminds me a lot back when i was in denial of what was going on mentally. and there are times he gets into funks, and you can just see the light drain out of him for a bit. but in the end, that's for him to explore and seek help for if he so chooses and feels the need to. i would hope if he truly did ever feel bad he would ask for help.
he's a very strong person and has such a love for life. i just hope he lives it to the fullest. i truly just want to see him happy.

This may sound silly, but I really appreciate your openness about being genX. I feel like even within fandom, there's this underlying ageism around fandom, like you're not allowed to like things past your 29th birthday?? I suspect this is related to the post you shared about genX and milennial folks growing up when fandom was still "weird", and I'm hoping that this will change as genZ ages. I hope that when I'm 80, my retirement home will have cosplay days, you know?
Aww, thank you! I was definitely more vague about it when I first got onto Tumblr and into GF fandom, but eventually I did realize that like, if nobody actually talked about being older, then it would just perpetuate this sense that older people aren't still around and doing stuff. I hope sometimes that talking about it just serves as an example that shows a way that you can live as you grow older, without having to give up your passion or your interests.
I know that when I first got into fandom, in the early 80s, I was joining fan-groups that were, necessarily, run by adults (in their 30s-50s). I mean, because to run a fan-group, or organize a convention, you had to be an adult who could handle money and enter into contracts and stuff. I went to conventions and met a lot of older people, too.
There just weren't any distinctions based on age at that time. There wasn't any sense that fandom wasn't for adults, because fandom as it was understood at that time had *originated* with adults. I mean, I'm going back to the 30s, when Worldcon started; or like, the "save Star Trek" campaign of the 60s, which was spearheaded by adults (mainly women, many of whom were extremely into Kirk/Spock).
That was definitely still the feeling in fandom when I was getting involved in the 80s. And I benefited from adults who were really welcoming to a 14 year old, and really encouraging of my earliest efforts in fanfic and fan-art. I met plenty of people in their 50s and 60s who were clearly successful, independent adults, and this was just their thing. Genre fandom is no more "childish" than, say, sports fandom, which is extremely mainstream.
This weird undercurrent of ageism in fandom is very new. And usually it seems like it's pretty misogynist in its expression.
The thing about your life and your interests is that there's really no age at which you need to stop being You. Maybe you'll enter into a phase of life in which whatever you're doing, be it family or career or lifestyle, takes up too much of your time for you to spare much energy for the kinds of fandom activities you once enjoyed, and that's okay. It's quite a different thing from thinking you'll hit age 25 or 30 and say "welp! I'm not allowed to be a fan of Star Wars any more!"
It doesn't usually work like that. I think people who think it does work that way are overly concerned about what *they think* "society" will think of them for still having... interests. And like, man, I get that. There's a lot of social milieus out there that can be really unforgiving of deviation from their norm, and if you're trapped in that, it sucks, and it takes a lot of emotional energy to withstand it, let alone stand up to it.
I got lucky, I think. I was always open about my interests and activities. There are people in my life who haven't really *understood* it, but they don't give me grief over it. But I also have to point to those fandom adults I met as a young teen, for giving me the feeling that it was okay to be "weird", even once you were an adult.
I expect I'll still be reading fanfic and drawing fan-art when I'm old, even if I have no idea right now what new loves and passions will come along. (That's the endless fun of a life in fandom, really. You never know what wonderful thing you'll discover next.) We are *definitely* going to have cosplay in the retirement home. ;-)

Very Important Shots of Stanford Pines
So I was discussing butt puns with @gin-juice-tonic, as you do (specifically on account of his little series from yesterday), when I happened to comment, “granted, Ford is the one, canonically, with the ass, while Stan, bless his heart, is not.“ The sort of statement one makes when one feels sure that what one is saying is common knowledge. I forgot that what was common knowledge in the fandom ca. 6 years ago (born of consensus through many discussion posts) is not necessarily common knowledge in the fandom today. Resulting in the following exchange:
Gin: you cant just say ford canon has an ass and not elaborate on
Me: Ford is the one with the canon ass shots!
Gin: WHEN
This took me all of 5 minutes (to call up the eps and take screenshots; no I did NOT have these saved to a folder on my computer):

Earlier I read a post (reblogged by @scribefindegil) that was about how people criticize stories that feature children having to fight the Big Evil themselves, and often these are criticisms of “child soldiers” and “where are the parents”, etc. I admit, I’ve had that criticism of some works, myself; and the post is making the point that the people most likely to criticize those aspects of that kind of story aren’t the actual target audience. Which I get!
I’m mentioning that and linking to the post because I did not want to append this in a reblog of it, since this is not meant to be a refutation of the point, or anything. It’s just that reading that reminded me of a thing that I Really Like About Gravity Falls, and it seemed like a good jumping off point for summarizing those thoughts. (In this, a week where we’re celebrating GF leading up to the 10th anniversary.)
You all will recognize the sequence above, of course!
I came to Gravity Falls as an adult; and, while I love Dipper and Mabel, and love watching their adventures and their growth, they weren’t my point of identification with the series. (I’m putting that as an “and” and not a “so” or “therefore”, because I think it’s perfectly valid for adults who watched and loved the series to identify with Dipper and Mabel! I’m just saying this from my own perspective.)
Gravity Falls, obviously, is a balancing act (in the first season especially) with allowing the kids to have all kinds of adventures, some of which are Very Hairy, while keeping the main “parental” / adult authority figure (Stan) sidelined from those events for various reasons. And the thing is, that worked for me. While you are watching Season 1, I think, the impression you get is that Stan might be oblivious to some of the supernatural stuff Dipper and Mabel are dealing with; and at least, that’s what the kids believe. (Of course we know Stan has his own deal going on and we don’t know what that is; and I know people watching S1 really question whether Stan is as oblivious as he sometimes seems.)
That works better for me than “the adults all know about the Big Evil (or the Big Problem or what have you), but they feel they cannot do anything about it and so they will not do anything about it”.
In Stan’s case, of course, we finally get an explanation for his whole deal, and THEN the show addresses his absence from some of the supernatural problems. He hangs a lantern on it by saying that he thought pretending he didn’t know would keep the kids from finding out, and keep them safe. (Who knows if that really would have worked, had Dipper not found Journal 3? I mean, probably not. But Stan did not know that Dipper had a source telling him all about a bunch of the supernatural stuff, in his hands.)
Anyway -- what we see during Season 1 is that Dipper and Mabel are very capable of dealing with things themselves. They’re brave and resourceful. They’re not stepping up because the adults won’t, or can’t. In fact, despite Dipper’s protests, they spend S1 hiding most of their adventures from Stan. (Or certainly not bringing him into their confidence; until the very end.)
But what I love is that even though Dipper and Mabel are very brave and resourceful, when push comes to shove (and when circumstances align), an adult steps up, and helps them with problems they can’t (and probably shouldn’t be) handle on their own. (See Stan’s entrance in “Scary-oke”, above.)

HOLY COW! Something to look forward too! (These are super cute IMO.)
No word on price yet, I think? (The Amphibia chibi plush were $15, but they were 7", while he says these will be 10"; so they might be a bit more?)
Link to tweet.
Text from tweet by GravityFallsCipher, TheMysteryofGF on Twitter: I may have had to make a deal with a certain three-sided polygon but your favorite #GravityFalls Grunkles will soon be available in plush form starting in Spring 2023 coming exclusively to http://TheMysteryShack.com.
Made in collaboration with @kayochins alongside the chibi plush. These are a bit larger than those around 10" tall and a slightly different visual style.
(Features photos of a Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford plush in a somewhat chibi style. Stan is wearing his Mr. Mystery outfit. Ford is swearing the outfit he wore in the show, but the prototype is missing the belt across his chest.)
More info when it becomes available!

About me
hi im danganronpafan42069. he/him 20↑ latino
some tags: my post and stuff - my opinion and stuff - big mood - for me <3 - ask - my negative tags for you to block if you want to masterpost
Danganronpa is one of my biggest guilty pleasures, i can count on my fingers all the things i like about it and genuinely think are well made. But i like some character's concepts and sometimes the dialogue and story are so ridiculous and absurd that i end up having so much fun.
Im not that active on the fandom and barely consider myself to be a part of it because almost all my opinions about ships, characters, storylines and the game/anime in general are very unpopular. I'm just happy minding my own business and vibin in my corner ^_^
Feel free to disagree with me and/or block me if something here makes you uncomfortable, but please don't try to start a discourse. I don't intend to change my opinion of anything and i don't want to change yours (unless you're respectfully asking my more detailed opinion about something), we're just going to waste our energy and waste our time on this.
i am very happy following this mentality here and i think you should try it too!
My favorite friendships and hcs of their relationships (WIP)
ps (this is kind of obvious but i think it's important to make it clear): i don't think these characters or ships that i don't like are problematic (i mean with exception of haiji i think) or think fans of the ship/character either (whole game is problematic if you think about it), it's just not my cup of tea
Tiny Q&A:
What are you referring to when you say "anti"? It's not the ant1 vs pr0ship discurse, it's someone who is "anti-some-ship-that-is-totally-fine-and-legal-by-law", the problem happens when this person in question is too immature and can't respect other people's opinions so they are chasing those who like their notp being inconvenient and annoying (and sometimes they even trivialize very serious social issues and topics)
Are you pr0shipper or ant1? I'm a grown ass adult. I work, I have a family, I have better things to do than use these internet bubble terms and discussions. I think incest and mainly minor/adult (ped0philia) ships are really fucked up even though they are fictional and/or trauma coping but I also think it's really fucked up to harass and make death threats??????? I don't want any of that on my screen so i block them all (and i also report if I think it's too fucked up)
My little disclaimer i have on any post of mine:
My little disclaimer i have on my opinions/headcanons post
A few warnings first, since you're here to read it I recommend reading these paragraphs extra to avoid stress for you and me :)
Almost everything I'm saying here about the characters is obviously MY OPINION and how I feel about the characters and their actions and not a concrete fact. I just want to express my opinion as many people in the fandom express their negative opinion about my fav characters and I respect that, so why can't I do the same? I know my opinions are unpopular, but that doesn't make them any less valid because opinion is something personal and there is no right or wrong
I'm censoring character names because I know some of my opinions are negative so I don't want to spoil someone's good time by having my post appear in the character's main tag. I'm also even saying in the title if it's a /pos or /neg analysis and I have a unique tag for my opinions (which you can block if you want), so you're proceeding at your own risk
I don't need to be so respectful with the characters because they aren't real, but I think we all should be respectful with who likes or doesn't like the character, because these are real people and have feelings.
And obviously I don't think someone liking or disliking this character doesn't make them a "bad, stupid, inferior or problematic person", it's just their opinion and deserves respect too
To be honest I'm not posting my opinion with the intention of changing someone's opinion or starting some kind of debate, I just want to express my opinion and that's all. It's like a public diary, it's one of the definitions of a blog after all ^_^
(About my headcanons) This isn't exactly a theory or an attempt to change anyone's mind and I know that none of this is canon and most likely not intended as I see it. I'm just want to talk in more detail about my headcanons and my lines of thoughts on them.
