I have a prompt idea! So a rich kid transfers into DuPont who is the son of the prime minister or something. He can be bratty like Chloe and deceitful like Lila. The first thing he does is put Chloe in her place since her dad can’t do anything to him and exposes Lila as the liar she is with the help from his connections.But here’s the kicker, he has a massive crush on Marinette. But she has a massive crush on Adrien, someone he looks down on. Cue jealousy and retribution. Basically Adrien gaining an antagonist of his own because if he can have FOUR girls getting into a cat fight of her (two of whom are nasty bullies) then Marinette can have her own evil love interest. Bonus points if he is beginning to endear to Marinette after standing up to her bullies.
Remy Gusteau
Can you guess where I got his name? But I imagine him to look like Draco Malfoy if he has to keep saying “My father….” Lol
Tumblr media
Your prompt is the first in a long while that has given my that old flair of imagination :D Thank you. Also, for anyone else who wants to send me a prompt, note I have not watched the latest season yet as I am waiting for all episodes to air first. So no spoilers please.
The only reason Remy even agreed to go to Paris after the rise of Hawkmoth was because it was the capital of gastronomy.
Even so, he refused to stay as a guest at the Le Grand Paris. There is no way he is staying in the same hotel as that bully Chloe. Honestly why Ladybug even let her remain a hero after she purposefully endangered a train full of Parisians is beyond him. And ever since he saw her purposefully sabotage a cooking show, he has been asking his father why her father was even still mayor if he could not even raise his daughter properly.
Even so, the mayor personally welcomed Remy at the airport.
Mayor: my daughter attends Dupont too, she can be your tour guide.
Remy: I certainly hope she learned to improve her personality. It doesn’t look good on France if the mayor of our capital has a bully for a daughter.
The mayor paled at the threat. “Of course she has improved. Why else would Ladybug give her a miraculous again?”
Remy: I guess we’ll see.
Later that night, Andre begged his daughter to be on her best behavior because otherwise, it might cost him his job.
Naturally Chloe was appalled. She started to protest when even her mother agreed with Andre. “It would never do for my darling to lose his job. All Chloe has to do is act nice in front of the prime minister’s boy, right? That’s easy to do. Chloe, if you can’t handle even this much, ask your sister for advice.”
The next day Chloe went out of her way to greet Remy and did not even give Sabrina orders…only to be ignored by Remy.
Ugh. Who did he think he is?
Sabrina: Um, the prime minister’s son?
The only seat left available was next to Ivan, right in front of Lila.
As Caline told Remy that Marinette would be his tour guide, Lila volunteered instead.
Lila: Oh, I can do it. As the ambassador’s daughter, I’m sure Marinette would has a lot to do anyway.
Marinette scowled at Lila. And she wasn’t the only one.
Remy himself was not happy. He recognised Marinette because of her parents and uncle. He had actually been looking forward to discuss recipes with her. Why did that nobody have to butt in?
Well that nobody was Lila, and clearly she never heard of personal space. For someone supposed to be giving a tour of the classrooms and teachers, she sure talked a lot about herself instead.
Don’t tell him that everybody actually indulged her like this?
Later that day, after class ended, he asked Caline why she does not try reining in Lila’s tall tales.
Caline: Lila has a special disease. She didn’t want her classmates to see her differently because of it.
Remy stared cooly at this dumb woman. “Hmm. Do you know something, I’ve heard the other students tell me I was in the akuma class. I thought perhaps it might be due to Chloe but perhaps you have something to do with it too. I wonder if I should ask my father to bring an inspector here.”
Caline: If you think it’s needed. I have only ever encouraged my students to forgive each other.
Remy: right, which is why you never told your class they were being lied to by Lila and denied them the chance to forgive her.
True to his word, Remy did bring an inspector around, and was he thorough! Marinette’s previous expulsion case was brought up and both Damocles and Caline were fired for mishandling the case. Remy even forced them to apologize to Marinette. Some, including Adrien, might protest this was harsh, but Remy drily pointed out that Caline’s method of forgiving bullies without punishing them was called enabling. Did she expect them to forgive Hawkmoth too? And Damocles is not supposed to turn school property into some cheap owl cave, nor punish the school for Chloe’s misdeeds. They were like children in the bodies of adults.
Oh, and Lila was exposed too. She had to confess her special ability to the whole school, outing her as someone who likes to tell tall tales.
Understandably, akumas appeared. Curiously though, they never got much chance to cause chaos. Mainly because the no-nonsense inspector and Remy struck them in the head once the transformation had finished, giving them no time to react, and proceeded to keep hitting them till they passed out.
Everyone stared at them.
Remy: What? The miraculous cure will fix everything.
And Remy finally got to discuss baking with Marinette! He just didn’t understand why she was so fixated on Adrien Agreste. The model reminded Remy of Caline, always about forgiving bullies. Spoken like someone who has never been bullied himself!
He just has to help Marinette see that Adrien isn’t worth her time. Some planned situations to show how useless the boy is. Good thing he has the mayor’s daughter at his beck and call. And he just knows she is dying to be mean again.

It should have been me!
Hi! I wrote this short Adrien salt + Lukanette endgame fic a while ago. Enjoy?
Summary
Ladybug was mad, ENRAGED.
Yet- how come Chat Noir was the one akumatized instead, when everything was HIS FAULT? It should be her!
AO3
____________________________________
This was so wrong!!
She should have been akumatized instead of him!
He was the one who deceived her!
And now Chat noir- Chat Blanc- was walking around trying to destroy her. And she, Ladybug, ran, jumping on the roofs of the Parisian buildings, and dodging destructive waves aiming for her.
So unfair!
___
It all started when Chat Noir finally stopped his flirting.
"I understand you're not comfortable, so I'll stop. Besides, I'm in love with someone else now," he had said.
Ladybug was grateful. Really grateful. He finally seemed to take his job seriously and their teamwork improved. It was nice to see that he changed.
Now, she didn't have to roll her eyes at unsolicited advances or for not going on dates she never agreed to. Everything stood professional.
Until that night.
All because she had let her guard down and allowed her excited Marinette self say too much. How could she have imagined that…
"You look happy tonight, Ladybug" Chat Noir hummed. "Did something good happen?"
"Yes. Very good" she smiled widely.
"Oh? What is it?"
"I don't know if I should tell you, but I'm so excited and-"
"Oh?" He smiled and leaned his head to the side, showing curiosity. He imagined that she may have been accepted to her dream university as she mentioned before, but he was eager for her to tell him.
Until he actually heard it. It wasn’t what he had expected.
"I have a boyfriend," she confessed. "We've been close friends for a long time and I still can't believe we feel the same! He's amazing and the most caring boy I've ever met. I’m so happy! I love him very much!" She squealed.
And that's what unleashed the storm.
"No!" Chat Noir stood up aggressively. "You can't have a boyfriend! You're supposed to be with ME! We're meant for each other! I even restrained myself from telling you how much I love you or to kiss you because I know you like gentlemen and- you were supposed to fall for me! I worked so hard to impress you and try to get your attention!"
“What…?” She couldn't register what he was saying immediately, but when she did she couldn’t help but feel betrayed. "Are you saying… That everything until now was an act…? You were just pretending? I trusted you!"
The betrayal was too much to bear. And yet- he was the one getting akumatized? Again. For his selfishness and for not listening to her, as usual.
She was enraged. Hell! She should have been the akuma, not him!
But now - She needed help. All the help she could get.
The fox, the turtle, the ox, the mouse, the dog, the dragon, the snake, the rabbit...
And after a few second chances, they finally defeated the akuma and a purified butterfly flew away. Magical ladybugs did the rest to fix the massive damage caused by Chat Blanc- Chat Noir-, Paris’ former superhero after the events.
"No… M'lady…" he begged, but he could only watch as she walked away, leaving a trail of tears as she left Adrien Agreste sobbing on his own.
___
"I can't believe it!" Marinette cried, secure in her boyfriend's arms. "All this time-! I thought he was finally maturing, becoming more professional- I really trusted him!"
Luka hummed and rubbed her back. He did wonders calming her down. How many times could have she been akumatized if it wasn't for him?
"And he was Adrien all this time… I can't believe I was so blind! I thought he was sweet, innocent and caring… I even called him perfect a few times, damn it!" She yelled in Luka's chest. "But no! He is none of those things! He's just selfish, disrespectful and irresponsible! I thought we were partners! I thought he would be happy for me when I told him about you!" She groaned. "Hell- he even congratulated us when I had the mask off! You figured out my identity on your own, without magic, just because you care about me…" she took a moment to look at Luka, her hand cupping his face softly and he hummed happily at the contact. She let her hands descend to his chest level, gripping his jacket, and sighed. "Chat, on the other hand, couldn't tell us apart despite his claims of being 'in love'. Ugh, what a joke…"
"You couldn't have known. You did the best you could, melody" Luka kept caressing her back in support.
"And he still got akumatized!" Marinette roared. "He completely betrayed my trust, Paris’ trust, our partnership! And still got offended because I have a boyfriend that makes me happy! Heck- I really should have been the one akumatized, not him!"
"Don't say that… I don't want you to get akumatized... Ever"
"I know…" She softened a bit at that. "But I'm so mad, Luka! I want to scream, to curse, to set a freaking dumpster on fire!" He groaned. "Maybe with a bit of luck his photos that used to be in my room are still there and I can kill two birds with one stone!"
That made Luka giggle. "Didn't you throw them out a long time ago?"
"I did! And I made sure not a single one of them remained! But now I wish there were still some so I could burn them to ashes!" She growled.
"You're funny even when you're rightfully angry," Luka laughed.
"I am rightfully angry! Very rightfully!" She pouted proudly and he chuckled. Cute. A moment later she blushed happily when he kissed her cheek.
"What are you going to do now? With the ring, I mean" he asked.
"I need to talk to Plagg first. Figure things out. And then, I think I'm going to keep the ring inside the box"
"Are you sure?"
"Well, I hope I can count on you if it ever becomes indispensable." She leaned in to give her boyfriend a kiss on his cheek.
"You can always count on me, Marinette. You know that" he smiled tenderly. "Especially if you ask me like this"
He leaned in to kiss her cheek and she giggled. Music to his ears.
"Thank you, Luka. I love you. You're the best boyfriend I could ever ask for. I'm so lucky" She kissed his lips, making herself comfortable in his lap.

Marry Me AU
Look, I liked the webcomic way back when, but I loved the movie. It’s been rent-free in my head all day. Sue me.
*
Marinette is a chronically single up-and-coming designer who had an extra ticket to fashion week after Alya had to back out. She’s not a particular fan of Gabriel designs, and she knows very little about his son except that he’s the guy from the perfume ads and he’s friends with the girl who used to bully her in middle school. Her school friend Wayhem, however, is obsessed with Adrien, and when he found out she had a spare ticket and nobody to go with (Zoe already has a ticket and will be meeting her there) he begs her to let him come and also to go to the Gabriel show with him.
Adrien Agreste is a full-time model who has never really had any control over his life. Everything he does is dictated by his father and his brand team. He’s been told that he will be marrying Chloé Bourgeois to unify the two fashion empires, but he’s really not looking forward to it because Chloé is kind of awful. But he can’t go against his father.
After Marinette finishes a rather successful show, she sets in to enjoy the rest of fashion week, with the singular exception of suffering through the Gabriel show. Wayhem brings a “Marry Me” sign to Adrien’s catwalk run, which—while bizarre—Marinette can’t exactly fault him for given that she did something similar for the Clara Nightingale concert back in 8th grade.
Wayhem and Zoe, who should not have been allowed to meet, spend most of the Gabriel show talking to each other, since Wayhem has finally met someone who actually personally knows Adrien Agreste and has kind of gone feral. Zoe insists he’s actually really nice. Marinette could not give a single crap. Dude’s Chloé’s fiancé. He sucks.
Adrien comes out on the catwalk, and Wayhem hands Marinette the sign so he can take out his phone and start filming.
Partway down his walk, Adrien stops.
His entire life has been managed, set, staged by other people. If he marries Chloé, it’s going to keep being like that—he’s never going to get the chance to make his own decisions, just living the life other people tell him to live. He’s staring into the faces of this crowd, into the face of a life he’s never wanted… and has a full-on mental breakdown.
He sees the girl in the second row—she’s beautiful, one part of his mind notices—holding up a sign that says Marry Me. And before he knows it, he’s making the first decision for himself that he’s ever made—he’s pointing at her, telling her, yes. Yes I will marry you.
Wayhem is screaming. Zoe is screaming. They both bundle a confused and terrified Marinette onto the catwalk, and since Zoe got ordained for the Kitty Section Julerose Wedding Concert she’s able to officiate right there and then. Marinette’s too caught up in the moment to say anything—and then she sees the sadness in Adrien’s eyes, and how excited he seems to be at the prospect of doing this, and she can’t bring herself to say anything other than “I do” when Zoe asks.
The wedding isn’t, technically speaking, legal. But in the eyes of the public… well. The Adrien Agreste just grabbed some nobody out of a crowd at random and married her onstage instead of his glamorous and wealthy fiancée. It’s all anyone in Paris is talking about.
And Marinette is starting to realize that this sad, kind, and—oh yeah, sculpted-out-of-marble hot boy may actually be just the kind of guy she’d given up on looking for…

“I should probably figure out whoever Cat Walker was and give him a miraculous,” Marinette jokes.
Her hands are covered in flour because she’s kneading dough, and she’s kneading dough because she found out last week that Adrien buys his bread at the grocery store. Her boyfriend is rich, and he could buy nice bread, but he doesn’t. Instead, Marinette bakes bread from scratch and knows that Adrien is always touched by gifts that aren’t paid for.
“You never found out?” Adrien grins as he leans across the counter. She had expected jealousy, because as sweet as her kitty is he does get a bit pouty over the idea of other boys taking an interest in her. Instead, he only looks amused at the idea that she would track down the boy from her past, the one whose only flaw was being too perfect.
“How would I? Plagg picked him.” She works the bread slowly on the kitchen island, feeling for the right stretchiness of gluten.
“It’s probably a bad idea,” he says lightly. “How are you going to fight when you’re busy making heart eyes at knock-off Black Butler?”
“Okay, so I got a little flustered!” she squeaks. “He was handsome! But I was a kid, and it’s not like it took me ages to figure out he wasn’t a good match for me, and it’s not like I didn’t save the day by the end, and I-”
Marinette freezes, her knuckles deep in dough, as a realization suddenly falls into place. “Adrien, how do you know what happened with Cat Walker?”
He looks innocent. “You didn’t tell me?”
“I told you he was too perfect and that’s it,” she says, meeting his gaze challengingly. Once upon a time, when she used the confidence she had behind the mask, he’d buckle straight away. Now he has too much Plagg in him as he continues to look like he’s done nothing suspicious, and she half expects him to call her Sweetie.
He props his chin up on his fist, too much Plagg in his expression. “So I guess I must have been there.”
She wails in agony, her hands coming to her lips as her devil of a boyfriend bursts into laughter. Again. Again she’d fallen for him, just like he had fallen for her a dozen times, with costumes and magic scrambling everything but their persistent longing. It was so obvious now, like it always was when the veil was lifted. It was Adrien’s seriousness and politeness. It was his kindness and support she had fallen for, because the sincerity of it was too much for her to brush off as a game.
“You weren’t him!” she pleads. “Adrien!”
“I was Adrien,” he giggles. “I think that was the whole problem.”
The sounds coming out of her are probably words. Thing like “oh my god” and “I can’t believe it” and other rambling nonsense that wouldn’t make any sense if she tried to write it down, because when she’s embarrassed the first thing to go is her ability to speak. Adrien hops up on the island in front of her, graceful and poised, but the grin he flashes her way is all mischief. “I put on my good boy face for five minutes and you-”
“No!” she protests, waving her hands wildly. “No! It wasn’t the good boy face! It was the speech in the moonlight!”
“The what?”
“No, listen, please,” she begs, her voice cracking with humiliated giggles. “It was a really hard time, and I felt really alone, and everyone was bad at the superhero thing. I had to answer all these questions about who was feeding what kwamis and how to do pick up and drop off and the only person who knew anything was Aly-stop! Stop smiling like that!”
He’s all Chat, all amused as she desperately tries to find a justification for falling for him again, for falling for him in every shape but Chat Noir. She takes a deep breath and says, “You said that it was your turn to take care of me. I needed that.”
There is a pause, a flicker in his smile. He probably wants to apologize, which will make her apologize, because they had spent far too long together not understanding what the other had wanted and needed. But they have had that conversations too many times for now, so instead he taunts, “You couldn’t figure out your lucky charm.”
“When I finish this bread, I’m going to destroy you in every fighting game you have,” she mutters.
Adrien stretches across his counter, not caring about the flour that’s getting on his shirt and jeans as he poses in front of her. He’s trying to fluster her again with a low voice and soft eyes. “Are you going to be able to focus with Cat Walker in the room?”
He yelps as she shoves him off the island, grunting as he hits the floor. She’s not a kid anymore. Her brain won’t fry just because her boyfriend knows how to pose, and years together has ensured that they both come with a kind of sturdiness that makes roughhousing and clumsiness a nonissue.
Still, she doesn’t go back to her bread as he cackles on the ground. Warmth fills her chest as she leans over to look at him, distracted from her work by his breathless laughter, the outright unattractive, wicked cackle that lets loose whenever he’s played a particularly good joke.
Cat Walker would never laugh like that - not unless she ordered him to. Adrien can, of course, because Adrien has never been the perfect boy she thought he was. Watery green eyes look up at her - brilliant and sweet and silly in equal measure - and she wouldn’t have him any other way.

Music of the heart [Marinette Dupain Cheng x Luka Couffaine]
So anyone remember this idea I had for Luka the street musician?Yeah, I've finally turned that into a fic :D
Apologies for any typos or grammar mistakes in advance, hope you enjoy!
After Marinette hugged Alya goodbye, finally exited the school and walked through the park towards the bakery, she thought about the only good thing about this sunny, warm friday.
That it was almost over.
Because Marinette had an absolutely horrible friday.
It has started when her akuma alarm had gone off one hour before her actual alarm, so she had jumped out of bed, tried her best to fight the akuma with her half asleep partner while still being half asleep herself. The duo had somehow managed to end the fight before school started. Marinette had considered that to be a good thing, until the universe had decided to reward her with a surprise history test, for which Marinette had not studied the day before due to an akuma attack from the evening before, which really begs the question if it really was a good thing they had defeated the akuma from this morning so quickly.
That had pretty much set the standart for the rest of the day, when Chloe was also in a bad mood and letting it out on Marinette with mean comments on Marinette's new jacket that she had made herself.
Later some other student had accidentally bumped into her during lunch, leading her to drop her plate, which already was humiliating enough, only for Lila to step in and to make sure that every single student in the cafeteria was informed about how awfully clumsy poor Marinette could be while playing the helpful, selfless person by helping her up. Which later was the katalyst for Alya to hype her up, rambling how great of a person Lila is.
But the cherry on top was a thing that Adrien had said to her after lunch, walking to their classroom.
"It was really nice of Lila to help you during lunch! I think she's improoving, so maybe you guys can finally be friends."
As soon as the words had left his lips, Marinette had felt a sting in her heart and she had tried really hard to not snap at Adrien. And had failed.
She had shouted at him, about how he still decided to ignore all of Lila's red flags, how she had clearly tried to humiliate Marinette and how, under no circumstamces, was she ever ready to forgive Lila, let alone befriend her.
Even if she had regretted her outbreak the second the words left her mouth, the damage has already been done.
Before her eyes, she could still see his disappointed expression when he told her she was mean and that it was unfair to not give Lila a chance. And then he had walked off, leaving her all by herself in the corridor as she tried to hold back tears.
Marinette let out a sigh. She really felt like she had screwed up big time.
"Are you okay, Marinette?", she heard a quiet voice from her pocket and looked down to her purse, where her eyes met Tikki's.
Marinette shrugged.
"I don't know, Tikki. Today was just kinda..."
The kwami streched her head out of the purse, pressing it against her holder's hand.
"It's going to be fine, I'm sure of it. Everyone has bad days," she noted.
Marinette bit her lip.
"Yeah and my quota of bad days is probably above average," she let out another sigh and petted the little creature, "I really have surprisingly bad luck, considering my power is good luck."
Tikki smiled gently and squeezed Marinette's finger.
"I'm sure everything will work out. You're a really strong person, Marinette. I think you can overcome any kind of bad luck."
"Still, needing to overcome things constantly gets exhausting after a while."
Marinette gave Tikki a quick smile, then looked away to blink away some tears, as the Kwami assumed.
Tikki continued to pat her holder's hand when they suddenly came to a halt, picking up some music in the distance. While Tikki disappeared back into the purse, Marinette looked around and soon found the source of the music on a bench a few meters away.
"Oh... it's him."
The boy had it's eyes closed, it looked like he was meditating while the wind brushed through his black and blue hair as his hands danced along the strings of his accoustic guitar, creating the wonderful sound.
She had met the blue-haired guitarist before. Though, "met" was maybe not the right word, because she hasn't actually had any sort of conversation with him. But she had run into him a few times, when he had picked a spot somewhere near the big tourist attractions of the city. She had already seen him at the Eiffel tower, the Louvre, L'arc de Triomphe or Notre dame. In a crowded place, it was easier to attract an audience, she assumed. At least a few people were always listening, maybe gave him a few coins before moving on with their day.
And when they would, he would always give them this kind, genuine smile that Marinette, for some reason, found incredibly attractive. His eyes were always filled with so much appreciation, wordlessly thanking perople for their generosity, for taking a few minutes of their day to turn their attention to him and his sweet tunes.
He had also given that smile to Marinette once before, when she had donated him 2 euros, She had been out with her friends to try out another wild idea to grab Adrien's attention somehow. She had walked over to him, put the coin in the open guitar case and he had looked up from his instrument and had given her this wonderful smile of his. And she hadn't stopped thinking about that smile for the rest of the day. In fact, she had been so distracted by it that she wasn't even that disappointed when their Adrien plan hadn't worked out.
Marinette figured that he must have an easy time attracting people's attention, because she found herself mesmerized by his music. Even though she never recognized the songs he was playing, it always felt... right, in a way. Understanding. Familiar.
Marinette wasn't sure how to describe what exactly the music made her feel accurately, but she didn't think about it any further when she walked a few steps closer, sat down in the grass, closed her eyes and just tuned everything out but the music.
She felt every note, every chord echoing in her heart. It was a strange feeling, but still nice. It was as if something would pat her shoulder, wrap an arm around her, whisper in her ear that everything will be fine. That Lila was an idiot but it would be fine. That Adrien was wrong but it would be fine. Everything would be fine.
Marinette felt a shift in the Melody, the hopeful, optimistic notes turning more into a relaxing tune, wrapping her in a warm blanket and lying her down on a soft, pink cloud. Up in the sky, where nothing could harm her. Where everything was peaceful. Where she could simply exist in peace.
Marinette could've wondered when the last time was she felt that way. She could've also wondered about other things, like Adrien or Lila or Hawkmoth or anything, really. And yet she found herself not thinking about any of these. Her head was empty, free of any negative thoughts.
Marinette felt herself smiling. She hadn't felt this relaxed in a while and she was so in the moment that she didn't really notice that the melody slowly faded out. She still kept her eyes closed and took in that calm feeling that had taken over her body and mind.
"Seems like you enjoyed it."
Marinette flinched a little, opened her eyes and looked up to meet the blue eyes of the musician sitting across her on the bench. Wow, those were some pretty eyes.
She forced her brain to form words, but quickly realized that it couldn't, so she just nodded. The musician smiled. "I'm glad," he said. His voice was pretty, too. Why were so many things about this boy so pretty?
Marinette smiled back.
"What- uh, what you play sounds really nice," she complimented him, not only because it was true but she wanted to avoid awkward silence.
"Though I'm a little surprised to see you here."
'What are you saying, Marinette,' she mentally scolded herself, 'What kind of conversation starter is that?'
But the guitarist didn't really seem to mind. His smile didn't fade. Instead, he lifted an eyebrow.
"Why would it be so unusual to sit in a park, all by myself, strumming my guitar?", he asked curiously.
Marinette could feel herself blushing and looked away.
"Uh... it's not that you're not allowed to be here, it's just... well, normally I see you in more crowded places, you know, where you can attract an audiende..."
Marinette felt stupid for asking such a dumb question. As if he wasn't allowed to be in the park. He probably thought she was weird.
"Well," he answered, without a hint of judgement, "sometimes it's nice to just enjoy music on my own, without all those people surrounding me."
He lightly strummed a few chords.
"Besides, it appears I still was able to attract an audience after all," he poked his tongue out and it made Marinette blush even harder.
The way he had just said that... was he flirting with her? And more importantly, was she a into it?
"I'm sorry," she heard him say and she looked up. He wasn't smiling anymore, he rather looked embarassed.
"I didn't want to make you uncomfortable," he told her.
"Oh no, don't worry, I'm not uncomfortable, I was just- uhh..."
Marinette bit her lip nervously.
"I mean, of course you'd find an audience anywhere. You played such a beautiful melody, it would be a shame not to listen," she finally said, "Although I didn't recognize the song you were playing."
The boy smiled again in response.
"Well, that's because...", he thought about what he's going to say for a moment, "you could say I was playing a melody I heard in my head when I noticed you."
As soon as the world had left his lips, his eyes widened and he nervously bit his lip.
"Sorry, that came out wrong, that sounded kind of weird..."
"It's fine," said Marinette, a little too loud, "that wasn't weird. At least I don't think it was." The boy relaxed again and let go of his lip. He really had nice lips....
Marinette tried to not focus too much on them.
"Uhm, but still, what exactly do you mean by 'hearing a melody when you noticed me'?", she asked curiously.
The boy took a few seconds to think about an answer.
"I'm not sure how to explain it," he admitted, "but when I look at other people... it's like I can hear what's in their hearts."
He strummed his guitar.
"I hear their feelings and emotions... and so much more. It's like... I listen to their song and I have an idea what kind of person they might be. And the more time I spend with someone, the clearer the song becomes... if that makes sense. The songs I play I pick up from other people's hearts."
He was biting his lips again nervously.
Marinette got rid of the though of his lips (somehow) and thought about his explanation for a moment.
"So... what you played earlier... that is what I have in my heart?", she asked. That seem to have relaxed him, because he stopped biting his lip and seemed relieved that she didn't see him as a total weirdo.
"Well, I think I did" he answered, "What do you say? You know your heart best, after all."
Marinette thought about it for a moment, then shrugged.
"I'm not exactly sure I know what's going on in here," she put her hand over the area where her heart was located, "it's really... I guess you could say complicated."
The musician nodded.
"Complicated, you say.... like this?"
He put his hand to the fret board again and played the same melody he had played before, but this time, he added some extra notes and more complicated chords. It sounded fuller and, in a way, more complete than before.
"Yeah, that seems more accurate," she said jockingly. That made him laugh and that in return did funny things to her heart. She prayed he wouldn't be able to pick up on that.
After their laughter died down, the sat in silence for a short while. It wasn't as awkard as Marinette imagined it would be with a stranger. She actually felt kind of comfortable.
"If I'm being honest," she said, "I think you got an incredibly beautiful gift. Playing people's hearts like that is... I think it's very fascinating."
The boy stared at her for a few seconds until his lips curved into that beautiful smile of his.
"You know, I never introduced myself," he noted, "my name is Luka."
"Pleasure to meet you, Luka," she answered, "I am Marinette."
"Marinette," Luka repeated slowly, tilting his head a little, "yeah, that fits. A pretty name for a pretty girl."
Marinette couldn't help but giggle. At this point, she was certain he must've heard the nervousness, the admiration, the... whatever that feeling he gave her when he smiled at her was in her heart. But for some strange reason, she really didn't mind anymore.
Maybe that's what gave him the courage to invite her to a glass of orange juice, to exchange phone numbers, to take a walk along the Seine together and then walk her home. They laughed, they talked, they learned about their hearts and even if Marinette wasn't able to hear Luka's heart, something told her that there were the same feelings inside of his.
And after a long, eventful Friday, Marinette's day ended with a text from Luka, wishing her a good night and asking if they could meet up again, and it was at this moment she decided that this day might've not been so bad after all.

Jagged’s Big Day
It’s here! The next part of The Big Day is finally here!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“But Penny, it’ll be totally rock’n roll!”
“No.”
“C’mon! Just think about it! The lights go out, hundreds of sparklers light up—we can get them here in under an hour— and then I appear on the-“
“This is a wedding, not a concert. You listen here,” she lowered her voice, looking surreptitiously at the door leading to the suite Luka, Juleka, and Anarka were getting ready in. “I will not have you giving Marinette or her parents a heart attack. Besides,” she sighed, massaging her temples, “I’m sure there will be plenty of spectacle with whatever Anarka, Juleka, and Gina have cooked up.”
This was the first time he was hearing anything about this. “What do you mean?”
“Some surprise they have planned for Luka and Marinette,” her eyes snapped open to glare at him. “And no, I am not going tell you what it is. And before you ask them,” her eyes narrowed even more, “I already told them you’re not to be involved. We do not need a repeat of last tour’s incident."
“Fine,” he grumbled, pouting for good measure. He would have to just find some other way to make sure his toast to the bride and groom stood out. ”I guess this is the part where you say I should get back in there.”
“Yes, it is.”
As subtly as he could —given his nature—he slipped back into the room, just in time to see Luka flush scarlet at something Juleka had whispered in his ear.
                                                         ***
He had no idea where the kid got it, his laid-back personality. But it definitely wasn’t from him, and there was no way he got it from Anarka.
But Luka, who was usually so calm, hardly seemed able to contain his excitement as he waited for their cue to start the wedding procession and head down the aisle.
He smiled to himself.
Excited suited Luka.
                                                        ***
Seriously? Who did this kid think he was?
He had met Adrien a couple of times, and he had always seemed like a nice enough kid, maybe a little bland, but nice enough.
But now, he was standing up, practically begging Marinette to not go through with it. And he was suddenly not quite so… bland.
Adrien may not have been as bad as the stick in the mud Gabriel Agreste was, but he definitely wasn’t rock’ n roll. And he definitely wasn’t reading the room.
He would have jumped up to rock some sense into the kid, and Anarka had seemed ready to do so as well. She had gone by Narnarchy back in the day for a reason. But Penny, who had been sitting between them, had held out her arms to stop them both, before nodding towards the glowering bride and groom.
Marinette, who was seemingly channeling her inner Ladybug, shut down Adrien’s objection and confession in no more than three words.
Huh. When he thought about it... nah. Both were rock’n roll, but there was no way she was Ladybug.
The rest of the ceremony had continued smoothly after that; Marinette and Luka were officially married. And his sweet baby Fang had been such a good boy, holding the bouquet and keeping an eye on Adrien.
Every time Fang hissed in Adrien’s direction was a proud papa moment; he would have to make sure Fang got extra treats and belly rubs for his job well done.
                                                        ***
Marinette and Luka were rock’n roll people. Tom and Sabine were rock’n roll people. Juleka and Anarka were rock’n roll people. Penny and Gina Dupain were rock’n roll. Fang was a rock’n roll croc.
But the photographer?
The photographer was not a rock’n roll guy.
First, he had acted like it was a huge inconvenience to include his sweet little baby in the pictures, despite the fact that Penny had warned him in advance that the flower girl was… not the traditional kind. But that shouldn’t have mattered! Traditional was boring, and Fang was the best flower girl anyone could ever ask for.
Then, the photographer had had the audacity to yell at Fang when he tried to join Luka and Marinette for more pictures. It wasn’t Fang’s fault he loved having his picture taken- he had grown up in the spotlight, he loved having his picture taken! And the guy hadn’t had to yell.
Poor Fang had been so upset, and the photographer hadn’t even offered an apology!
He glared at the back of the photographer’s head while crooning words of comfort and scratching Fang’s belly. If it were any other day, he would be making a fuss.
But today was about Luka and Marinette, not him, or even Fang. And Penny had been very clear that he needed to not cause a fuss. It was hard. Any other day he would march up to the photographer and demand an apology for his little baby. But Penny had given him a warning look from where she stood, talking with Juleka and Sabine. And so, he settled for sending death glares.
But maybe he would be able to get a good song out of this.
He already had a dozen song ideas from the way his frockstar had shut Adrien down during the ceremony.
                                                        ***
He was a full-volume kind of guy. When it came to music, he had little time or patience for soft and quiet. And that was the way he lived life too.
Loud and proud.
But it was rare moments like this that he didn’t mind the quiet. It wasn’t that the music they were dancing to was quiet— it was playing at a perfectly respectable level.
But there was something quiet about watching his son and new daughter— he couldn’t care less about the in-law part— swirling across the room. He wasn’t the kind to watch and listen, not when he could be the one performing, but there was something magnetic about them. Like the love between them was something tangible, that it was something he could touch.
This wasn’t a performance.
It was real.
A flash of gold caught the corner of his eye. Adrien was making his way through the crowd towards the dance floor, determination burning in his eyes.
He caught Anarka’s eye and nodded towards the model. Blue flames danced in her eyes, and her mouth settled into a tight line as she made a beeline for the blond.
Things were about to get interesting.
                                                        ***
Penny helped him up, ignoring the people fretting over him in favour of giving him the look.
But how was he supposed to know the table legs folded? It wasn’t like anyone had told him.
Ok, so he hadn’t actually told anyone what he had planned for his toast, but everyone should have known there was a good chance he would jump onto a table or two. He was an artist, and every truly rock’n roll performance had an element of action. And spectacle.
But Penny had vetoed the original spectacle he had planned for his toast.
So he had had to improvise.
But it was fine. He and the croque-en-bouche were both fine… mostly.
Peeling his eyes away from Tom, who was kneeling over the casualties of his speech, he followed Penny’s gaze to the newlyweds. They had risen halfway out of their seats, as if they were ready to make their way over. But then, somehow, they got lost in each other’s eyes.
He could almost see the world slipping away from them.
Like he was watching a love ballad in action.
                                                        ***
“Who’s my good boy? Who’s my good boy? Who’s the best flower girl in the whole wide world?” He smothered Fang’s snout in kisses as he continued to praise his baby.
“Is the coast clear?” He looked over his shoulder, much to Fang’s annoyance, to see Anarka, Gina, and Juleka hovering by the wall. All with bundles hidden rather conspicuously under their jackets and behind their backs.
The surprise.
He had nearly forgotten.
Before he could say anything, the sound of chair legs scraping against the floor caught his attention. Penny had stood and was already striding away, muttering something that sounded like plausible deniability under her breath.
He looked over to the couple. They were so wrapped up in each other, they probably wouldn’t notice if fireworks went off.
“You’re good, let’s go-“
“There no chance yer coming with us. After that toast, we don’t need anything else going wrong. And I’m not fool enough te get on Penny’s bad side. Besides,” she nodded her head towards Fang, “it seems someone be needing yer attention.”
Fang had flopped onto his back and was looking up at him expectantly.
He threw himself into giving his baby belly rubs, showering him with more praise. “Who’s my good boy? Who’s my baby? Is it you? Are you the best flower girl ever? Yes, you are! Yes, you are!”
Fang deserved it.
                                                        ***
He watched the newlyweds exchange sweet, private smiles as they made their way towards the doors.
He had never wanted this for himself; the rings, the wedding, the lifetime commitment, the promise of a future of settling down. It had never been for him; he was a free spirit. He was grateful to be allowed to be a part of his kids’ lives- they were rockin awesome. Of course, Anarka had been the one to raise them, so they couldn’t have turned out any other way. He had just never thought settling down and having a family was the rock'n roll thing to do.
But it suited the two of them.
And looking at how happy they looked, the whole marriage thing was looking pretty rock'n roll from where he was standing.
Especially if marriage included weddings like this one.
The two waved one last time and shared one more sweet smile before they walked out the doors; towards the surprise Gina, Anarka, and Juleka had planned for them.

Jasonette July prompt 12: dare
My masterlist
Jasonette July
Marinette, Jon and Damian were happy to be together again even though they had only been apart a couple weeks. Marinette flew back in from France arriving after Jon had stopped back by from Metropolis. She knew they had been together a couple times since she had been home but it still felt great to have them all back together again. It was so weird not seeing them every day. They finally gave up their wonderful New York apartment since they were all graduated from university and getting jobs soon.
It was really weird at first to live with two guys she barely knew but they ended up getting along great and she had been desperate for a place to live when her place flooded. The landlord had offered her another apartment at the same price but it was really gross and too far away. The flooded apartment, she was told would take too long to repair so they could get rid of the lease. She passed it 6 months later and people were living there and it had a fitness center, coffee shop, and a water garden. She looked online and the rent was 3 times what she had been paying. She was pretty angry, but she ended up with 2 besties from the situation that she probably wouldn’t have gotten to know very well otherwise.
Tonight they were celebrating being back together again. Marinette barely had time to look around Damian’s house because he and Jon were rushing her. She was shoved into a room and Damian gave her a dress that his (sorta) sister helped him pick out and they had food ready for them to eat before they rushed out the door. The plan of the evening was to celebrate job offers and all of them being together again. Marinette wasn’t even given a chance to rest so she was reeling a little from the flight still. But she wasn’t going to pass this up. Jon was always willing to go out and have fun, but Damian feeling in a partying mood was rather rare so they were going to enjoy it.
It was loud in the place even though it was not a large New York club. Marinette had loved going to those so much it had probably eaten into her budget far too much. It was always better going with the guys because they wouldn’t let her pay. They knew she had a much tighter budget. Actually it was mostly Damian paying the covers and the tab without ever saying anything. She was pretty sure that he paid more rent than her too but he just told her that there was already an extra room and she more than made up for it with her constant cooking and she did more of the shared chores.
She knew his family had money, but she had a feeling she had no idea how much money until she saw the house. It was massive and the grounds went further than she could see. She never really talked about it because he didn’t. It was so much different from the people she knew growing up. Chloe who talked about the money all the time or Adrien and Kagami who didn’t talk about it but they were kept separate from others by their parents. She had never even met Damian’s family and they didn’t live that far away. She knew they talked but they didn't tell him how to live all the time.
They got drinks as soon as they were in the door and they did not go slow. Marinette was making up for all her time being considered a minor while living in New York when she left France right as she reached the drinking age there. She could finally drink in public here and they kept feeding her fun fruity drinks and laughing at her stumbling on her heels while still loopy from her flight. She didn’t care though. It was pretty standard for them to all pick on each other a bit it was all in good fun.
She pushed Jon towards a girl who had been watching them. He looked terrified and he tried to fight against her pushing him. He managed it but then she stumbled. She knocked into Damian who kept her on her feet but her arms still swung around wildly. Then she knocked over a drink. She looked back at them sheepishly but they were already looking at her grinning. They would not let her out of a dare even after having just gotten off a plane from Paris. They had been doing dares for knocked over drinks for a couple years but she had gotten a lot more of them that they had. She was significantly better about being more careful now, but It only took one little stumble to ruin her good streak.
---
Jason sat in the corner of his favorite bar looking sullenly around at the noisy crowd around him. He saw Damian across the room and wondered if his presence was responsible for some of the overly excited younger crowd. He may not care about his presence in the media, but they certainly cared about him. He was rich and single and a new college graduate, so he must be looking to mingle. Of course the Demon Spawn wasn’t interested in the crowd around him. He was perfectly happy with Jon nearby. Jason didn’t think he would ever want or need any other friends but as he glanced back he notice a girl with them.
Initially he thought that maybe she was trying to get close to one of the boys but not only did neither seem very interested in the beautiful girl but she seemed to be hanging around with them and bantering. He looked back up and saw her trying to encourage Jon to approach a girl at another table who had been looking their way. Jason nearly lost his foul mood when he saw her stumble and flail around being propped up by Damian. He could see their maniachal looks from across the bar and thought she was begging. But she soon squared her shoulders and took Damian’s fresh drink and drank it until it was only ice left.
She looked around and he looked back down at his drink so he wouldn’t be caught watching her. He finished his drink and signaled the bartender to make him another. He didn’t realize she had moved from beside his brother and friend until he glanced that way and saw her walking right his way. She seemed to be focused on a spot behind him as she walked. He looked back away again as he received his drink. When the waitress stepped away the girl was right behind her and looking right at him.
---
Jon and Damian laughed as they watched Marinette walk across the bar to complete her dare. She looked back at them several times hoping they would change their minds but they were more interested in laughing at her than anything else. She didn’t know anything about the angry looking man sitting alone at the end of the bar, but Jon and Damian knew that at least her fears about him lashing out at her were false. She had never met Damian’s brother so it was a bit fun for them to find a way to play a joke on both of them at once.
Marinette froze as she made eye contact with the man in front of her. He would have been very nice looking if her were smiling but he looked like he had had a very long day and just wanted to be left alone. But Marinette didn’t want to face the consequences for not doing the dare. Damian and Jon would never let her live it down. The man watched her standing there but he didn’t say anything and neither did Marinette. That was part of the challenge. She wasn’t allowed to say what was happening. She reached over to him and tapped his nose with her finger.
“Boop,” she said, as she touched his nose.
She almost expected him to yell or be angry. But she figured she could get away from that. But he just let it happen; he had no interest in causing a scene. As if he knew exactly what she would do he reached out and grabbed her arm before she could retract it. The way he held on caused her to lean heavily on the bar next to him. His face didn’t look angry, she almost thought he had a hint of a smirk. He loosened his hold but didn’t release her arm completely.
“Where did Damian and Jon find such a lovely friend to send to poke the bear?”
“Wha--do you know them?” she asked.
“I do. Do you feel like getting them back for tormenting you?”
He let his fingers slide off her arm but he leaned close to her. She leaned in close to him too.
“What did you have in mind?”
---
Jon and Damian watched, laughing as Marinette approached Jason. They expected to have an epic reaction from both of them to leave them with a story to tell in the future. But when Marinette reached out for Jason and didn’t pull away they didn’t know what to think. The two leaned close and seemed to be talking. They couldn’t see Marinette’s face, but Jason looked pretty serious. They hadn’t expected him to be very angry but maybe he was telling her off. Maybe they should have made it a comment to him rather than actually touching him even if it was a rather innocuous action.
They quickly decided he wasn’t angry and was possibly hitting on their friend when he reached over and pulled her close to him. Marinette went willingly and rested her weight against his thigh while he put his arm around her and the other he motioned for a waitress so they could order drinks. Marinette didn’t look back to see them at all. She continued talking close to Jason, and he was just as engaged with what Marinette was saying. They waited around trying to decide whether to go pull her away to hang out with them again but she didn’t use the signal that she wanted a rescue so they didn’t think she would be grateful for the interference.
---
“Are they still watching?” Marinette asked.
“Yeah. But they are trying to not be obvious about it.” He leaned down close to whisper in her ear. “Do you want to give up or do you want to up the ante?”
“I’m having too much fun to give up now.”
“Glad you think I’m such a good time.”
“Very funny. They always get me with dares. Its about time I got them back for it.”
“Well, I’m all for it. Did you want to leave with me?”
“I think you may have the wrong impression about what is going to happen here.”
Marinette pushed back from him slightly.
“I don’t have the impression that anything is happening after. But I would help you give them the impression. I am the delinquent brother after all.”
“So we would just walk out the door together as a joke.”
“Its all up to you. We could give them a show and stumble out together or just exit together and call them to meet you out there.”
Marinette considered carefully for a bit. She still thought it was unfair of them to enforce the challenge when she was fresh off a plane. Both of them had had a relaxing day before going out where as Marinette was still on Paris time and off a 9 hour flight. She made her decision and then moved in on Jason before she could back out. If he was shocked he didn’t show it. She held onto his collar while his hand slid to the back of her head. She was almost sorry that their kiss was far more chaste than it appeared to those around them. It was also far too brief. Jason just waited until her friends watched in shock before they separated and he took her by the hand and they left the bar.
The car he had called was already waiting so they were in it and off before they could be followed out. The other 2 would have to call a car still before following after them. Marinette laughed in the back of the cab and Jason grinned back at her. She recognised Damian’s house when they got there. It made sense that he would know that was where she was staying.
It was barely five minutes after Marinette and Jason arrived before Jon and Damian burst into the room they were in. Marinette had set the scene when she heard them rushing their way so her hair was partially pulled down and she had her legs resting over Jason’s. His arm was around her on the back of the couch and they had a movie started.
“Hey, did you guys want to watch a movie with us?”
They tried to act put out by the turn of events but after a moment they laughed at the turn of events. They joined the other two on the couch, but from that moment on they never made Marinette do another dare.

Crushed
Stuck under a collapsed building together, Chat Noir and Marinette have a heart to heart.
Ao3 | FF.net
I originally wrote this as a secret santa gift, but it strayed too far from what the giftee wanted, so I did something else. I decided to finish this anyway, and I hope you like it!
This akuma attack was not going great. He called himself ‘Bomb Voyage’ (“Like in the Incredibles?” “Yes, Chat. I do believe Hawkmoth ripped that name.”) And he was blowing things up right and left.
When the Lucky Charm bullhorn fell into her hands, she had some sort of plan in the works, but it all fell short at Chat’s shout.
“My Lady! Look out!”
The building right in front of her, mere feet away, exploded suddenly, the only clue being Bomb Voyage’s finger point.
There was no time to run. No time for Chat to scoop her up. Only impending destruction and carnage.
So Chat leapt, his arms wrapping around her head, and tackled her to the ground as the rubble rained down.
It felt like ages of pain before things settled. They both coughed out lungfuls of plaster dust that still hung in the air. It was mostly dark, with a scant bit of light from above.
Chat was squished, but he pushed up on his arms and felt Ladybug move slightly.
“My Lady?” He asked. “Are you alright?”
“My leg hurts. I may have sprained my ankle. How are you?”
“I took a brunt force to the back when the building collapsed. It hurts, but...I can’t really feel my legs.”
“Chat...”
“Though, that could just be bad circulation. I’m in an awkward position.”
Ladybug’s earrings chirped.
“Crap,” she muttered. “I used my lucky charm. Do you think you can cataclysm your way out of here?”
He twisted his neck in an effort to look around, though the dust of the rubble was still thick. He looked towards the light source above them, able to see where it was coming from, but it looked several feet away. “Negative, my lady. I think we might need some outside help for this one.”
She bit her lip nervously. “I don’t hear anymore explosions.”
“That’s good. Right? Maybe Hawkmoth thinks we got crushed and stopped his akuma.”
“Yeah, that’s great…unless he’s got someone waiting to take our Miraculous’ off our corpses when we’re dug out of here.”
“Ever the optimist, hmm?”
“It’s my talent,” she smirked. Her earrings beeped again and she turned her ear toward Chat. “How much time do I have left?”
“Looks like two minutes.”
“Great…”
“I can close my eyes.” He offered. They were basically nose to nose, and her hands where trapped below his arms, so she couldn’t reach up at all.
“I…I don’t know…”
He raised his eyebrows. “You don’t know?”
“We need to find a way out of here,” she switched topics. “Or find a way to contact emergency services to get us out.”
“My baton is still on my back, if you can reach it.”
Ladybug groped around blindly, feeling for the staff.
“That’s my butt.”
“Oh, sorry.” She blushed, and then moved her hand up. Once she found it, she held it out to her side as she could see the screen. “I’m about to detransform, but I have a cookie for Tikki in my purse. As long as it’s still there, she should be able to recharge before they bust us out of here.”
“I didn’t even think about that,” Chat winced.
Ladybug dialed the number.
“112, what’s your emergency?”
“Hello, this is Ladybug and Chat Noir. We’re in a bit of a pickle.”
“How can we help, Ladybug?”
“A building collapsed on us, and we’re pinned and can’t get out. We’re on Rue de Lappe, not far from Bastille.”
“I’ve got your location on my map. I’m sending the fire department your way.”
“Is there any sign of the Akuma?”
“We’ve gotten similar calls about being trapped, but they stopped coming in a few minutes ago.”
“Thank you. I’m going to extend Chat’s Baton out through the rubble so they can find us.”
“Alright, I will pass that information along. Good luck, Ladybug!”
“Thank you!” Carefully, Ladybug aimed the Baton towards the little hole to the surface, and extended the staff, the top breaking through the topside.
“And now...we wait.” Her earrings beeped again.
“So...you don’t want me to close my eyes?” Chat asked for clarification.
“I’ve been thinking...if I’m the guardian, and something happens to Plagg, like he gets sick or something, you need to be able to find me out of the suit, you know? It’s just you and me...”
“Does that mean you want to know my identity?”
She grimaced. “I should but—“
In a flash of pink, Marinette remained, looking sheepishly at him. “...I need a little time to come to terms with this.”
His eyes were impossibly wide, staring at her, drinking her in in the scant light. “Marinette? Marinette Dupain-Cheng?”
“Howdy?” She squeaked.
He squeezed his eyes shut.
“Chat?” She asked, fearfully.
“Sorry,” he whispered. He opened his eyes again, and his lip wobbled. “I just—I’m trying really hard not to cry.” Despite this, a tear fell from his eye and landed on her cheek.
She tried not to cry herself. “Are you that upset?” She whispered.
“Upset?! No! How could I ever—Marinette, I’m thrilled beyond belief! If it was anyone else—“ he clenched his eyes shut again, as more tears started to fall. “I admire you, and trust you, and respect you more than anyone else.”
“Chat...”
He smiled tenderly. “You know, I had hunches. I was almost completely certain until Kwamibuster, too!”
That made her wince again. “Oh Chat, you know I didn’t mean to lie to you...”
“I know, I know, at the time, it was too risky.” He continued to smile, his tears subsiding. “I know this isn’t ideal, but I’m glad I get to see you now.”
“Kinda makes Evillustrator funny, huh?”
He laughed. “You’re right! I forgot about that! Hey! You called yourself cute!”
“I am cute!” She pouted.
“You are cute,” he agreed, taking her in. “I’ve stared at your face a lot, but you look so so different without the mask.”
“It’s the glamour,” she elaborated. “That extra bit of magic that makes it hard to connect the dots.”
“I know how it works,” he smirked.
“Right...sorry, this is just...weird.”
“Good weird?”
“I feel naked.”
“You just say the word, and I’ll get naked with you.”
She threw him an unamused look. “Don’t be gross.”
“Sorry, I can’t help cracking jokes around you. Although, I’m sure you were wishing I was secret mystery boy right now instead, right?” He waggled his eyebrows in an attempt to hide his heartache. “So who is it? It’s Luka, right?”
It was like she had her mask on again, cheeks red as a tomato. “No...it’s not Luka.”
“Oh...aren’t you guys dating?”
“Not anymore. We did, for like a week. If you could even call it dating. He just came over to my house during my downtime, and played his guitar while I worked on commissions and stuff. It was nice and all...but I prefer the piano.” She looked away.
“Piano, hmm?” He smirked. “You know, I’m an excellent piano player...and the real mystery guy is too?”
“You can’t laugh.”
“I would never.”
“I doubt that,” she said flatly.
“I promise, I know you don’t like people shallowly. So whoever it is, I know it’s genuine.” He smiled softly, encouragingly.
Marinette screwed up her lips and admitted, begrudgingly. “Fine. It’s Adrien. Adrien Agreste.”
The sound that Chat let out was not a laugh. But it wasn’t a great sign. It was like a wheeze, but a gurgle.
“What’s wrong?”
“I just...” he blinked several times, trying to convince himself this wasn’t a dream. Ladybug was Marinette! And she had a crush on him! “I...am surprised, is all. I didn’t know you were...close?”
“I sit behind him in class. He’s one of my best friends. Our best friends are dating, so sometimes we end up being third wheels together?”
“Oh. And this is the same guy as before?”
“It’s always been Adrien.”
Chat hoped she couldn’t hear the pounding in his chest. “Oh...even when Glaciator hit? When I found you sad on your balcony?”
“Yep. He was supposed to meet us for ice cream, and he didn’t show...I kind of told Andre that love was bogus, and that’s why he got akumatized.”
Chat laughed at that. “Aww, it’s okay, Marinette. I’m sure he had a good reason for not showing up...”
“I’m used to it,” she said dully. “His father is a huge pain in the ass. I used to respect him, but now...he’s a jerk. He constantly holds Adrien’s freedom ransom to make him do stuff. It kills me! You know when I was in New York?”
“Yeah?”
“I had to beg his father to let him go. It was a class trip, and he was the only one not allowed to go! Just because his father is so concerned with his safety.”
“Can you blame the man? We’re currently trapped under a pile of rumble.”
“But as soon as I’m out, I’ll lucky charm and cure everything! Poof! Sprained ankle gone! Whatever’s wrong with you, gone!”
“What do you think your parents would do if they found out you were Ladybug?”
Marinette thought for a moment, and answered honestly. “Probably be sort of angry, and worried. But I think they would understand. They respect us a lot, even after my dad got akumatized.”
“Don’t remind me.” He groaned.
“What about your parents?” She asked.
“My mom would have been excited. I think. Worried too, but excited for me. But my father...well, he’d rip off my miraculous and make sure I never saw the light of day again.”
“That bad, hm?”
“I’m not exaggerating. I’m in the same boat as Adrien, extremely sheltered.”
“I’m sorry,” she smiled softly. “I didn’t know.”
“I didn’t really want you to know. Chat Noir is supposed to be my safe place, my wild and crazy side. I’m afraid if I start talking about home, I’ll admit things that civilian me doesn’t want to.” He exhaled, his chest bumping with hers. “God, it is just so easy to talk to you. Now more than ever.”
“Really? You know me that well?”
“I know enough. And maybe it’s just because I’ve got you pinned and you can’t go anywhere.”
She laughed at that. “Well, we’ll probably be here for a while. And...I still want you to hide your identity for a while, but if you want to talk about your life a little more, that’s fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yes. It really is time for us to know who each other are, I’m just...not ready.” She huffed, and his bangs fluttered. “This was unavoidable, but let’s plan for your reveal, so I can be emotionally prepared.”
“You won’t be. You will cry.”
“You say that with an awful lot of certainty.”
“Trust me, when you behold me in all of my unmasked glory, you’ll cry.”
“Alright. Can’t wait to prove you wrong.”
He smirked.
“Chat? Are you shivering?”
“Uh…yeah, kinda.”
“Are you cold?”
“Not…not exactly. I’m holding up a lot of rumble so it doesn’t crush you…and I’m pretty claustrophobic.”
“Why didn’t you say anything earlier!?”
He laughed, but it lacked any mirth and was filled with quiet panic. “Uh, just…you know…trying to stay calm.”
“What can I do to help?”
He exhaled shakily. “I don’t know, but talking about it isn’t helping.”
“Okay, well, why don’t you keep eye contact with me, and…let’s just talk.”
“About what?”
“I know you’ve got a whole list of questions you’ve been dying to ask me. Now’s your chance.”
“Damn it!” He nearly shouted. “I had a whole notebook full of questions I wanted to ask you, but it’s at my house!”
“Well, you know where I live, so you can ask me some other time if you want.”
“Deal!” He screwed up his lips. “But first, since you mentioned it, Weredad.”
“Oh god…”
“Why did you say you were in love with me?”
She winced. “To be quite honest, I thought you were going to find out who I was…and the poor excuse just flew out of me before I could think through the consequences. I didn’t think my dad would overhear anything, and I didn’t think you’d show up for brunch.”
“You didn’t think I’d show up? Me? The biggest gentleman in Paris?”
“Okay fine, I hoped you wouldn’t show up.” She rolled her eyes.
“Now that I’m thinking about it, there’s a lot of shenanigans that could have been prevented if—hold the phone, how did you do Multimouse?!”
“Fox miraculous,” she shrugged.
“The Fox! Of course!”
She laughed, his reaction calming her nerves. “I understand what you mean now, it’s easy to talk to you. It’s always easy, but I didn’t notice until you said it.”
He wouldn’t meet her eyes. “You don’t always feel that way.”
“I mean, I get frustrated with your jokes when I’m trying to be serious, but that doesn’t mean—“
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Oh?”
He swallowed thickly. “Civilian me…you…you have a hard time…” He trailed off, not looking at her face.
“Chat?”
“Did you ever tell Adrien? That you…you know?”
She tilted her head at the sudden topic change. “Uh…no. I tried, but it was never meant to be. Every time I did, something would go catastrophically wrong.”
“Like what?”
“Like...I gave him this scarf, right? For his birthday. And I forgot to sign it initially, so I snuck into his house and left a sticky note on it. Somehow, it still managed to go wrong, and he thought it was from his dad.”
Chat stared at her, wide eyed. “And you never told him?”
“No, he was happy believing that it was from his dad. His happiness is all I want.”
It was hard to describe the look on Chat’s face. Almost pained, but still full of love. Like seeing something so precious it brings you to tears. “You did that for him? You really love him that much?”
She looked away, “Unfortunately.”
“Why unfortunately? Is he a jerk?”
“No, not at all. I just…I know he doesn’t love me back. ‘Oh Marinette, you’re such a great friend.’ ‘I’m so glad I have a friend like you.’ ‘Please stay my friend forever!’” She shook her head. “That boy has me firmly friend-zoned.”
He winced, “I’m sure he didn’t mean it like that. He probably really really likes you, and just wants you to know how much he appreciates your friendship.”
“And that’s another reason I can’t confess. He doesn’t have a lot of friends, and I don’t want to ruin our friendship.” She groaned. “I sound so pathetic! It’s so stupid.” She shook her head. “I wish I had your bravery.”
“My bravery isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It’s gotten me hurt pretty badly, after all.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize,” he smiled at her softly. “You feel how you feel, and I just hurt myself.” He gnawed at his lip. “Actually…can I ask a really dumb question?”
“I don’t see why not.”
“You don’t have to answer it…actually, no. I shouldn’t ask at all. Nevermind.”
“Well now you have to ask,” she chuckled. “I’m curious.”
He rolled his eyes. “Okay, but don’t hate me.”
She nodded him on.
“Why…why did you go out with Luka if you knew I loved you? Do you also like Luka? Or…are you just that…repulsed by me?”
Marinette’s mouth fell open in quiet shock, and she inhaled some dust. She turned so she wouldn’t cough in his face at least.
“Sorry,” he tried to sooth. “I told you it was stupid. You can date whoever you want…”
She cleared her throat, and then wheezed out. “You just wanted it to be you.”
“…yeah…”
“Chat,” she leaned up to tap her nose against his. “To say I have absolutely no feelings for you would be a lie.”
He looked hopeful. “Really?”
“They’re still developing. But I noticed thoughts I have about you sometimes. Missing you, thinking you’re cute…but Luka was the safer option at the time. I was trying desperately to get over Adrien. Luka and I weren’t really friends first, so if it didn’t work out, it wasn’t a big loss. But with you…” She looked into his eyes, an insurmountable amount of pain and unsaid words just beyond his reach. “I could lose everything.”
“You won’t lose me, My Lady.” He said softly.
“Oh kitty,” she moaned. “I…I never want to lie to you…but there’s something that I haven’t told you. Something I should have a long time ago. I just…don’t like thinking about it.”
“What is it?”
“Chat Blanc.”
At her hesitation, he prodded her on. “What’s a Chat Blanc?”
Her whole face tightened, lips curling into a thin line, eyes squinted hard, and brow furrowed. “It’s…he’s your akumatized self.”
“What?” He breathed. “But I’ve never been akumatized.”
“No, not anymore. You see…Bunnyx helped with it. Somehow, the event of me signing a gift to Adrien triggered a series of events that got you akumatized. I don’t know what the correlation was, but…you knew my name, and you said our love destroyed the world.”
“The world?”
“I hate thinking about it,” she winced again. “The whole of Paris flooded, the Eiffel tower knocked on it’s side, the moon exploded. Everyone, including me and Hawkmoth, turned to dust. You cried when you saw me. You asked me to save you, but you also wanted my earrings, wanting to fix everything yourself. So we fought.”
“I assume you won, if you’re here.”
“Yeah...the Akuma was in your bell. Your all white bell, on your white suit, with your white hair and blue eyes...” she shuttered. “I still see you like that in my nightmares.”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“I didn’t want to mention it. I didn’t want to worry you, and I didn’t want to remember. I knew I should have told you sooner, though. I’m sorry.”
“...I understand.” He swallowed and exhaled in a whoosh, all the debris above them shifting. He moaned, ending with a hiss.
“Chat?”
“Sorry, I moved and realized that I’m a little more hurt than I thought.”
“What’s ‘a little more hurt’?”
“Uh…I think I’m…I’ve been impaled?”
“What!?”
“It’s not that bad, the suit took most of the pain. I just…am having a little hard time breathing, and I thought it was from my claustrophobia, but I think something is lodged in me.”
Very carefully, Marinette reached up and felt along his back. A lot of debris was laying flush to his suit, but as she moved her hand around, she noticed he felt wet and sticky.
“Yeah, I think you’re bleeding, kitty.” She said so sadly. She touched where the wound was and he cried out in pain. It was his lower back, by his spine.
“I’m sorry!” She pulled her hand away.
“S’kay,” he hissed out. “God damn, that hurt.”
“I promise, as soon as we get out of here, I’ll magic you right as rain. Just...just hold on, kitty.”
He opened an eye to look at her, still fond through his pain. “Are you panicking?”
“Yes! I was worried when the building collapsed, but now I’m on the verge of pure panic!”
“I must admit, this is not how I expected today to go.” He breathed slowly, the pain subsiding when he held still. “Actually, I didn’t imagine this happening when I found out who you are. You being Marinette is like…the cherry on top of a diarrhea sundae.”
“Do you like cherries?”
“I love cherries.” He whispered. “I got grounded today.”
“Oh.”
“I was having lunch with my father, a rare treat. My friend texted me and I answered without thinking. My father became upset that I would do something so ‘rude’. He said if my friends were more important than him, then he shouldn’t bother eating with me. Then he took my phone.”
“That’s the kind of assholery that I’ve come to expect from Adrien’s dad. You’re in that boat too?”
“Unfortunately, yes. Come to think of it…he’s probably the reason I got akumatized in that other timeline.”
“You think so?”
“It’s a hunch. I don’t often get upset about things, but when I do, it’s usually because of him.” He sighed, ending with a wince. “That’s something I haven’t admitted to myself until now.”
“Kitty...”
“I didn’t mean to bring that up...”
“It’s okay. I’m glad you did. I want to be able to support you where you need it.” She could see that he was spiraling into depression, and quickly sought to remedy that. “What was your daydream like? When you would find out who I was?”
A twitch of a smile took his face. “I knew I would spend a long time staring at you, memorizing what you look like without the mask.” He took a shaky breath. “And I thought, when we decided to share our identities, it would be because you finally fell for me. So there was a kiss. And a lot of roses. It was sappy...but it made me happy to think about it.”
“Can I ask...what it is that you love so much about me? In case you don’t know, there’s a lot of differences between Marinette and Ladybug.”
“I know,” he smiled. “But there’s plenty of similarities. Your strength, for example.”
She laughed. “Chat, Ladybug can throw you across the city. But Marinette couldn’t even lift you.”
“I bet you could! We should test it later! But I meant your strength of heart.”
“You sound like an anime character.”
“Well, it’s important to me.” He blushed. “You aren’t wishy-washy. You don’t cater to the voices around you. You do what’s right. You want justice. Even when akumas and civilians tell us to go or step down, you get up and fight.”
“I do that?”
“Yes. The day you stood up to Hawkmoth, and you promised Paris that you would fight for them until the end? That moment, I said, ‘no matter who that girl is, I love her.’ And even now, it hasn’t stopped. I may even love you more.”
“Chat…” She sniffed. “I…I care about you so much. And I know that if Adrien wasn’t in view, I’d fall for you hard and fast. But I can’t.”
“I know, Marinette. Just knowing…that maybe someday…”
“All the more reason to get rid of Hawkmoth, right?”
He nodded, a tear slipping from his eye and landing on her cheek. “Today sucks.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s really not your fault. And I’d much prefer that you were here, under me, than being alone. I’m handling my claustrophobia a lot better because of it.”
“I’d much rather be under you too.”
He gave her a smile, and then snorted with a little blush. “Oh my lady…”
“I thought we were being mature.”
“Me? Mature? Come on.”
“Yeah, I should have known better.”
“You’re beautiful too,” he added. “I’ve always thought so. As Ladybug and Marinette. I saw you with your hair down once, and it’s haunted me ever since.”
“You saw me with my hair down?” She questioned, trying to ignore the hot blush on her cheeks.
“Yeah, it looked really nice on you. I know it’s not practical for crime fighting, but…”
“Maybe for a patrol,” she offered. “When things are calm.”
A smile graced his face as he sighed deeply.
The pile above them shifted, and Chat let out a cry of pain.
“Kitty?”
“This sucks!” He moaned, leaning his forehead down to her face. “Sorry, whatever is in me moved, and I really felt it.”
“Please don’t apologize, Chat. If anything, I should apologize, you took the hit for me!”
“My Lady…you didn’t do anything wrong. If I can help it, I will never let you get hurt.”
She closed her eyes, trying not to cry. “It breaks my heart that you would do that. I don’t want you to be a meat shield, I want you to be my partner.”
“You said it yourself. Once we’re out of here, you’ll do Miraculous Cure and set me right. So I’ll take the hits if I have to.” He sucked in a harsh breath. “Even if it hurts like a bitch.”
With her hands trapped at her sides, she couldn’t reach up and wipe his tears away. So she opted for the next best thing. She leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Thank you for protecting me. I know you’re going to say it’s your job, but I really do appreciate how much you look out for me.”
“I love you, Marinette. Of course I’m going to protect you.”
She shook her head slightly. “How can you just say that so casually?”
“Why bother hiding it? You know already. I’m not going to bottle it up.”
“I just…wish I could do that. With Adrien. I wish I could walk right up to him and say, ‘I love you, you magnificent human being’ and crush my lips to his perfect face.”
Chat hid his blushing face in her shoulder. “You should. I bet you’d make his day.”
“Yeah, or he’d freak out, and sue me for sexual harassment, and then I’ll be the laughing stock of the school, no, all of Paris! The whole world, maybe!”
“Do you often catastrophize?” He chuckled. “I’ve heard you do it before.”
“Usually only with Adrien. I just…don’t want to mess things up.”
“I don’t think you will. I know Adrien. He’s a nice boy. He won’t turn you down.”
“You can’t possibly know that.”
“Call me a psychic.”
She scoffed. “Whatever.” Then she shook her head. “Whether or not you’re confident he won’t reject me…I don’t think I’ll ever tell him. I’ve tried to get over him, but I just look at him and melt all over again. I’m sorry Chat.”
He was quiet, his face resting next to her head, cheek against her ear. After a moment of contemplation, he asked, “hey, you like pink, right?”
“Oh? Uh, yeah.”
“I’ll do it tomorrow. A dozen pink roses, maybe some red and white in there too for flavor.”
“You’re doing what tomorrow?”
“I’m going to reveal my identity tomorrow.”
“After all that? What about Adrien?”
“Don’t worry about him right now. I’ve been thinking. If you and I know who each other are, in a crisis, we’d be able to communicate better.”
“What do you mean? What kind of crisis?”
“I’m just trying to imagine what happened with my akuma. If there was a problem with my father or miscommunication, we could better solve it without identities in the way.”
“Okay, yes…” she considered. “But please don’t get your hopes up, okay? I would love to spend time with you out of the suit, but I won’t fall for you instantly.”
“I suppose you’re right. After all, how can I compare to the amazingly handsome Adrien Agreste? Well, he won’t be a problem for much longer.”
She frowned. “You say that like you’re going to kill him.”
He laughed. “No no, Bugaboo,” he said fondly. “Look, everything will make sense tomorrow, I promise…as long as I don’t bleed out down here first.”
“You’re acting really jovial for someone with a mortal flesh wound.”
“Tis a scratch.” He breathed a shuddering breath. “Or so I hope.”
“Ladybug! Chat Noir!” A male voice called from up above.
“Ugh, finally,” Marinette muttered to herself. “We’re down here!” She called.
“We’ll get you out as soon as we can! Any injuries?”
“Chat has a…bit of a scrape.”
“An ambulance is on the way!”
Marinette didn’t want to tell him it didn’t matter. Once she did the cure, he’d be right as rain.
Right?
“Marinette,” Tikki piped up. “I’m all set, whenever you are.”
“Alright. Tikki, Spots on!”
The pink flash only helped the first responders locate them quicker.
“There’s the baton!” His voice sounded closer. The light above was distorted by a rain of plaster, before it was replaced by flashlight light. “Hello?”
“We’re down here!” Ladybug called, moving her arm under Chat.
“Can either of you move?”
“Chat’s pinned, but I might be able to wiggle out, with some help.”
“We’ll get a sling. We might be able to pull you up and out.”
“Once I get my arms free, I should be able to cast the cure and set everything right.”
“Great plan, Ladybug! We’ll have you out in a minute.”
Ladybug nudged Chat’s nose with her own. “I’ll cast it as soon as I’m free. Can you hold out that long?”
“I’ll have a dozen pink roses. And I’ll wear something nice, like a sweater. Or maybe a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. I heard the ladies love that.”
“Chat?”
“I’m trying to focus on something else instead of being trapped.” He explained. “Sorry, I might not be very useful for the next few minutes.”
“Okay,” she kissed his cheek. “You do what you have to.”
The fire department lowered a strap attached to a chain into the hole. “If you can maneuver that under your arms, we can pull you out.”
Using Chat’s Baton, Ladybug was able to pull the strap closer. Very slowly and carefully, she wriggled it under her armpits, careful not to jostle Chat in the process.
“Jewelry could be fun. I know she doesn’t like it when I’m extravagant, but surely she would cherish it if I gave her a ring.” He had his eyes shut tight, his brow furrowed.
Ladybug gave Chat a pitiful look.
“Alright, I’m ready!” Ladybug called to the rescue crew.
She was pulled out from under Chat. Though, she had been supporting his lower half, and he sank to the ground as she slid away from him. This jostled the debris violently, and he cried out in horrible, agonizing pain. It was the worst sound she had ever heard.
“Chat!”
He kept howling, sounding like he was being ripped apart from the inside out.
Ladybug pushed on the piles around her, hurrying to get free.
The moment she broke the surface, she called for her Lucky Charm.
It was a rose, and she teary-eyed through it up into the air, and called for the cure.
The explosion of Ladybug’s surrounded her, mending her ankle and silencing Chat’s cries.
She touched down on solid, undisturbed concrete, and turned to find Chat face down on the ground.
“Kitty!” She cried, voice cracking as she rushed to him.
He pushed up on one arm. “I’m okay, My Lady. Just a little winded.”
“Are you sure?”
He stood slowly and stretched. “Yeah. All cured.”
She hugged him. Tight and sure, maybe squeezing a little harder than she should.
“Bug, I can’t breathe.” He chuckled.
“Sorry, I just...”
He hugged her back. “I’m never going to turn down a hug though.”
Her earrings beeped.
“Are you both alright?” Asked the EMT on the scene.
“We’re all better,” Chat assured. “Thank you for your help!” He gathered Ladybug close to him and put an arm around her waist. “We gotta go though!”
Ladybug only had a second to realize what he was doing, before she was lifted off her feet and into the air.
“I can travel myself, you know. I still have time.”
“Sure,” he shrugged.
He carried her all the way to her balcony, before setting her down. Her transformation ran out just as they landed.
“Thanks for the lift, Kitty.” She scratched under his chin. But as she looked in his eyes, she saw tears. “Chat?”
He sniffled and hugged her again. “Just...a sucky day. I wanted to hug you in privacy. I know how you get when people assume things about us.”
“Well, it’s different when you’re getting handsy and when you need comfort from a traumatic experience.”
“I never get handsy,” he argued. “I just like to be close. I’m touch starved.”
“Well, from what you told me today, I believe you.”
He laughed mirthlessly, and pulled away. “I really do feel better now.” He reached up and cupped her face, letting his thumb trail across the apple of her cheek. “No matter how bad this day was, it will never taint the absolute elation of finally seeing you.”
“Chat...” she blushed.
“I must be the luckiest man on Earth. Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Ladybug, all rolled into one. I can’t believe it.”
“Two transformations and you still don’t believe me?”
He smiled. “My brain believes, but my heart never gets so optimistic.” He cast his gaze away. “Even if you...change your mind...” he mused.
“About what?”
“Nothing. Never mind. I’ll just...see you tomorrow. With a dozen pink roses.”
“I’ll get a vase ready.”
He reluctantly pulled away, like tearing himself from her was physically painful. He hopped up on the railing of her balcony, and with a little salute, he hopped into the night.
“I’m proud of you, Marinette.” Said Tikki. “It had to be hard being that honest with him.
“I didn’t really have a choice. I can’t imagine how much worse that experience would have been for him with his eyes closed the whole time.”
“It’s over now. And tomorrow, you’ll know who he is too!”
Marinette whined. “I don’t know if I’m ready for that...”
“It’s a little late for that. What? Are you going to run at the first sight of flowers?”
“I might.”
“It’ll be fine. Marinette, I know who Chat is. And I promise, it’ll all work out fine. Great even. Just, take a shower, and go to bed. Then you can wake up early and mentally prepare yourself.”
Marinette chuckled as she dropped back down into her room. “What would I do without you as a life coach?”
“Sleep through most classes.”
“It was a rhetorical question.”
In the morning, with the extra sleep Tikki had urged her to get, Marinette rose and dressed.
Then the nerves turned on.
“What if I just fake sick?”
“Don’t you dare! You’d hurt his feelings!”
“You’re right...but I really do feel like I might throw up.”
“Just relax. You’re going to love this.”
“If you say so...”
After breakfast, Marinette wandered over to school leisurely. Tikki would say she was stalling, but Marinette would disagree and state she was simply taking advantage of being early.
At the front steps, students were gathered. No roses. In the courtyard, teens milled about. No roses. In the locker room, her locker was devoid of anything that wasn’t supposed to be in there.
“Well well well,” said Alya, with too much bravado. “Lookie who’s early!”
“Yuck it up. I was tired and went to bed early last night.”
“You sure you aren’t eager to see Adrien today? He looks pretty cute in that button up.”
In all the confusion surrounding Chat, Marinette had honestly forgotten about Adrien. Her. Forget about Adrien. Perish the thought.
“I mean...it would be a bonus.” She muttered.
“Well, he’s up in the classroom. If you were wondering.”
She wasn’t. Or hadn’t been, until now. But it seemed that Chat wasn’t ready to reveal himself yet, and Marinette still had time to prepare.
She ascended the steps and headed to the classroom.
What she wasn’t expecting, was seeing Adrien standing there, sunlight filtering through the window to make a halo in his hair. He wore a black button up shirt, sleeves rolled up, and had a dozen pink roses in his hands as he talked to Nino.
Dare she hope? Dare she dream?
She just stood in the doorway, staring, before he noticed her.
“Good morning, Marinette.” He smiled at her, looking warm and inviting and…nervous?
“Goo-goo-good morning, Adrien.” She stumbled. She glanced down to the flowers, then up to his face. “Um…those don’t happen to be for me, do they?”
With a twinkle in his eye, he smirked. “Why? Just because something is pink, you think it’s for you?”
She deflated. “Haha, right…that was really forward of me.”
With a pleasant hum, he leaned in and whispered in her ear. “I’m just messing with you, My Lady. These are for you.” He placed the bouquet in her shell-shocked hands.
“My...?” She breathed. The word was just a whisper, barely heard by even him.
His smile was broad and gleeful, squinting his eyes and coloring his cheeks. “Mmm-hmm!!” He hummed eagerly as he nodded.
Marinette had to shut her eyes as a sound like a laugh and a sob burst from her lips. Tears started immediately, and there was no way to stop it.
“I told you you would cry,” he teased.
“You jerk!” She blubbered. Then she tossed the flowers at a confused Nino before throwing her arms around Adrien, and sobbing into his shoulder. “I love you, Kitty.”
He squeezed her back. “Do you really? Because I’m getting mixed signals.”
“You’re awful. You’re wonderful. I’m a mixed bag of emotions. Just hold me.”
“Can do!”
As other students came in, seeing the couple embraced, they gave them thumbs up and congratulatory back pats.
And then Lila entered.
She halted, hid her sneer, and said, “oh no! Marinette! What’s wrong? Why are you crying on Adrien like that?”
He patted Marinette’s hair. “Happy tears, no worries.”
Marinette refused to let Lila ruin this moment. It was far too perfect. Adrien was far too perfect, the flowers, her kitty...
Mustering all her strength, she hooked her arms under his, turned and spun his into a dip.
“My lady?” He breathed, in awe.
“You’re the love of my life. I should have kissed you yesterday. I definitely wanted to.”
“You did?” He smiled drunkenly.
“Yes, like this.” And she slammed her lips to his, kissing him just like she had in her dreams.
Adrien let out a contented little mewl as he tangled his fingers in her hair.
The class went wild with roars and cheers.
Before she could drop him, Marinette righted Adrien. “Sorry, I just...wanted to do that for a while now.”
Adrien nuzzled her cheek with his nose. “Oh don’t worry, Bugaboo. You can smooch me whenever.”
Nino made a gagging sound.
“Oh, well I’m very happy for you guys,” Lila feigned a smile. “But Adrien, are you sure your father will be okay with this?”
Chloe, who had known this was coming since she saw the roses, stood and stalked over. “Okay, you’re done. Bye!”
“Chloe, I’m just trying to be rational...”
“And Adrien is the most deserving person for a happy ending...even if it’s with Dupain-Cheng.” She cast Marinette a glance and rolled her eyes. Then she looked back at Lila. “Though, he could do worse.”
This made Marinette and Adrien giggle.
Lila scoffed. “Fine! Make me the bad guy! But don’t come crying to me when Gabriel tells you to break it off!”
Adrien whispered in his new girlfriend’s ear. “Even if my father makes Adrien and Marinette break up, Ladybug and Chat Noir follow their own rules. It might not be the most fun, but we’ll make it. Then, once I’m 18, I’ll propose.”
Marinette laughed, kissing him swiftly. “Oh my sweet kitty. Let’s take it slow for a little while. We have the rest of our lives to be that insufferable couple.”
Alya, who had come in not that long after Marinette but stood quietly in the door, finally spoke up. “Adrien, I couldn’t bear to tear you away from your Princess. So I’ll take your seat.”
Adrien just grinned in gratitude and hugged Marinette. “This makes that building collapse yesterday totally worth it.”
“Does that mean...you had a crush on me?” She teased.
“No, my Lady, I fell for you.”

Marijon - My Secret Older Sister
Her name is Marinette Amani Al-Ghul. Marinette is the first grandchild of the demon-head and the daughter of Talia Al-Ghul. She is also the older sister of Damian Al-Ghul by two years. Despite what others may think, both she and her brother came from the same man. Bruce Wayne. Although Damian has no idea who his father is, Marinette has known for eight years. Despite the young age of 12, she was an incredibly smart girl. She also possessed the ability to be happy and feel love. But not in front of anyone but her brother and sometimes her mother. She and her brother had a great relationship. They were always there for each other. Damian was there for Marinette when her grandfather Ra's would sometimes beat her for not doing well on a mission. And he would base it solely on her gender. Marinette was there for Damian the first time Damian had to kill someone. It disgusted him, but he continued doing it for the sake of his title.
Then the day the League fell came. Slade had attacked when Ra's was showing the whole League to Damian and explaining that it would all one day be his. Marinette was standing behind them next to her mother. Ra's had told her mother to grab both of them and run. Marinette protected her brother throughout it all when suddenly, Marinette got shot in the stomach. She collapsed in pain. She saw her mother running back to them, so Marinette let go of Damian, who was looking at her worriedly, "Damian, my akhi, go run, save yourself. Tell Mother to take you to Father. I'll be fine."
Damian was crying now, "NO, I won't leave you, you have to come with me. Please don't leave me, ukhti."
Marinette smiled sadly. She then hugged Damian and kissed him on the cheek, "I love you. And I promise I will find you one day." She let go of his hand as Talia quickly grabbed his arm and lead him to the docks, glancing at Marinette once in worry.
Marinette was lying still for a little bit before she heard a voice say, "Tom, I found her!" Marinette turned her head to the side and saw her godmother, Sabine Cheng recently Dupain-Cheng, hurrying over to her, with her godfather Tom not too far behind.
When they reached her, they gasped at the wound in her stomach. Tom picked her up and quickly walked to the docks with Sabine following. "Where we going?" Marinette said her voiced slurring, herself only half-conscious due to the blood loss.
Sabine answered, "We're going to Paris. We had a house there just in case we ever had to escape the League."
Marinette nodded in turn before she closed her eyes, letting the exhaustion take over. "Good night," she heard before she was fully asleep.
Marinette woke up to an unfamiliar scene. She tensed, but when she caught sight of her godparents, she relaxed, "So what's the plan?"
Sabine was the one who answered", Well, you aren't allowed to act like the devil in disguise." Marinette scoffed, but she didn't argue, knowing Sabine was right. She may be sweet with her family, but with strangers and acquaintances, she wasn't the nicest. "Also, you are going to be Marinette Dupain-Cheng. You are the daughter of two bakers, Tom and I, and you are a designer. You will also be clumsy and stutter a lot."
Marinette nodded in understanding, "Okay, but what about Damian?"
Sabine sighed, "You're just going to have to hope that one day you find each other again."
Marinette nodded in understanding. She then went up to her new room, ready to put on a mask for the rest of the world to see.
(Time Skip)
It was now the start of the tenth grade for Marinette. She was now thirteen-years-old, and she was ready to play her part of the clumsy baker's daughter. She took some macaroons for her new classmates and then walked outside. While she waited to cross the street, she caught sight of a man crossing the street. A car was heading right to him. Regardless of who she was pretending to be, she wasn't going to let a man get hurt. She ran and quickly pulled him to the sidewalk, effectively using it as an excuse to trip over her feet. She handed the man a macaroon and then ran to school.
At school, she sat down quietly in her seat. When a dark girl, with brown hair and auburn highlights, picked a fight with a blonde girl. The blonde girl was supposedly bullying Marinette. Marinette and the blonde girl exchanged looks, acknowledging that the girl before them was a load of bull. Marinette then found out that the blonde girl's name was Chloe, and she was a bully, and the other girl was Alya.
Marinette looked around the classroom, analyzing everybody.
She then heard a voice scream, "Kim!"
She looked behind her to see a big, burly blonde kid, look like he wanted to beat up somebody. The teacher then asked him, "Ivan, what is going on?"
The blonde kid replied, "It's Kim! I'm so going to get..."
The teacher then pointed to the door and shouted, "Ivan, go to the principal's office."
Before Ivan could stomp off angrily, Marinette spoke up, quite surprised by the way the teacher was handling things, "With all due respect Miss, you didn't even listen to Ivan's side of the story. It could be Kim that's bullying Ivan, but you're rather playing favoritism."
The teacher sputtered, not knowing how to react, "Who gave you the authority to question my teaching skills?"
Marinette smirked, replying, " Common sense."
Mrs. Bustier walked out of the classroom to calm down, pure fury clear on her face. That day she turned into Zombispect. When she kissed them, they would automatically obey and respect her. That was also the day Lady Spots and Chat Noir resided in Paris.
While Lady Spots was a great superhero, Chat Noir was an incompetent fool. Marinette hated him. He would always flirt with her and never get anything done. And in many cases, if he didn't get what he wanted, he would either threaten to quit or sit out. Marinette never told him, but she honestly thought that she did better in battle when he wasn't around.
In terms of her civilian life, Alya convinced herself that she was Marinette's best friend and that Marinette had a crush on Adrien. In actuality, Marinette's best friend was and is her brother, Damian, and Chloe. While Chloe was spoiled, she was also neglected by her parents, which made her act rather bitchy at times. And she for sure did not have a crush on the spineless Adrien Agreste. No one in the class knew anything about the real her. But her godparents and even Chloe, who knew a bit about her. But, the one person that Marinette wanted to talk to was her precious little brother. She needed to hug him, spoil him, and talk with him about everything. But most of all, she wanted to know that he was still alive and happy somewhere.
Marinette would cry herself to bed every day, hoping that one day she would see him again. Thankfully, Tikki was on her side.
(Time Skip of one year. This is after Volpina, but before Chameleon)
It has been two years since Marinette last saw her brother. Alya was still going strong, coming up with ridiculous plans for her to date Adrien. She was still a "clumsy" baker girl. And while designing was her supposed hobby, after about a month, she really got into it. What pissed Marinette off the most was that she had to wear pink, have her room pink, and wear pigtails. Why? Because it strengthened the fact that she was an innocent, little, naive girl. While it did help people underestimate her, it annoyed the heck out of her. She actually ranted to her godparents one day about how bad her appearance was, "How can one color be so bright?! How could anyone like looking at it?! Why the hell do these pigtails make me look like a short-ass baby?! I look like a fucking moron! Where the hell is Damian when you need him?!" It was about three days later when her question was answered.
Marinette had been walking around town when suddenly someone bumped into Marinette.  Marinette caught herself and caught the person she bumped into. But the words that came out of the person's mouth had her reeling, "Tt, what type of imbecile are you to be bumping into people on the street?" Marinette would know that voice anywhere. And sure enough, when she actually looked at the person that she bumped into, she was staring into the face of her brother. When he realized who she was, he let out a timid, "Marinette," that had Marinette practically sobbing.
When she found that her face was wet, she realized that she was sobbing, but she didn't care. Damian was alive. She strangled him with a hug, cooing softly into his ear once he too started crying. They stayed like that for a while before they released each other. It was then that Marinette saw the boy standing behind Damian.
She blushed when she noticed his features, black hair like her own, the bluest, purest eyes she had ever seen. He was wearing glasses that gave him a nerdy look, but his body begged to differ. He was very tall, probably 5ft 11, and had huge muscles that gave off more of a jock look. He had so many characteristics that Marinette felt insanely attracted. She snapped out of her thoughts and offered the boy a hand, "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, or Marinette Al-Ghul, Damien's older sister by two years."
He gave her a blinding smile that could rival the sun and then kissed her hand, "Jonathan Kent, Jon for short. It's nice to meet the sister of my best friend." The more she studied him, the more she realized that he looked familiar. It was then that she realized he was Superboy, the superhero Alya had been raving about last week.
Marinette blushed at him kissing her hand. She then decided to let her inner devil come out to play. Leaning closer, she whispered, "It's nice to meet you too. I hope that you have been nice to my brother. Because if I found out you haven't, I might get my katana and skin you. I know that you might be invincible, but with the kryptonite, which I do have, you would be weakened within a second. So make your decisions carefully." She then leaned back and watched how his expression changed. His face went from happy, to confused, to shocked, to scared, and the surprisingly, love.
He smirked, "Well, you are better than I expected." He then pulled out a piece of paper and wrote his phone number. "Call me, you're hot and a little devil, I like it." He then winked and gave it to her.
They both heard Damian scream, "KENT! Stay away from my sister before I skin you!"
Marinette giggled and took the piece of paper from him. She then asked, "You look to be about my age. Why are you with Damian?"
Jon replied, "I'm 15-years-old. So one year older than you. (I know that Jon is actually three years younger in Super Sons, but for this to work, Jon is three older, not younger. If you have any problems with that, fight me.) And Damian and I work together a lot. We're considered the Super Sons, so we're best friends."
Marinette nodded in understanding before suggesting that they all go to a coffee shop to talk. Damian and Jon agreed. Damian told Marinette all about their father, their brothers, and sisters, him being Robin. He told her everything. She offered him support and asked questions about their family.
When it was her turn, she explained how Tom and Sabine saved her and how she came to Paris. And how she is pretending to be a clumsy sweet girl who likes pink. (She wasn't totally over the whole pink thing along with the pigtails.)  That coaxed a laugh out of both Damian and Jon. But when she got to the part about Alya, Damian wanted to skin Alya. He was Marinette's best friend, not some dumb harlot. When she explained how she was Lady Spots, and Chat Noir had some major failings as a partner, it took both Jon and Marinette to hold him back. He continued trying to escape while shouting, "LET ME AT HIM, HE DARE FLIRT WITH MY SISTER!!! I'LL SKIN HIS SORRY ASS BEFORE RIPPING HIM INTO SHREDS AND DUMPING HIM IN A RIVER!" He then continued to explain exactly how he would kill Chat Noir. Marinette knew that he was capable of going through with his plan, so she distracted him by asking for his phone number so that they could stay in contact. Damian calmed down enough to give it to her.
When she realized how late it was, she gave a hug and promised to meet up with him for the rest of the week. She also promised that once he left Paris, she would stay in contact. She wasn't going to leave her brother again. She then went up to Jon and kissed his cheek before saying goodbye. She then turned around and went home. If she had stayed a second longer, she would have seen Jon blush and then touch the cheek that she kissed with his fingertips, a goofy smile adorning his lips. Although Damian wanted to keep Jon away from his sister, he supposed Jon was better than the mangy cat or the spineless model.
For the rest of the week, the three met up every day and did different activities. One day they went to the Lourve, another an arcade, the day after that a carnival, and so on. On their last day, they went to the park and then went for Andre's ice cream. When they arrived, Andre greeted Marinette, "Bonjour Marinette! Would you like a sweetheart ice cream."
"Oui Andre. This is my brother Damian, and his friend Jon." She then turned to the boys, "Andre is the sweetheart's ice cream maker. He essentially gives you icecream based on the characteristics of your soul mate. Damian, how about you go first."
Damian stepped in front of the cart, "Ah, Damian, one scoop of violet and honey for her eyes, coconut ash for her hair, and cherry for her mysterious and complicated past. Here you are." (There is actually such a thing as black ice cream. It's made with coconut ash that people sometimes flavor with burnt honey vanilla.)
Damian took the ice cream and looked at it. He then realized that it looked like Raven, his crush. He blushed. "Ah, I see the love fair and true. I suppose you know who is right for you?" Damian nodded and started eating his ice cream, a small smile gracing his lips. He then paid attention to his sister and his best friend. They were now getting their ice cream.
Andre looked at the two and said, "Ah, but here's the truth, the two of you are the right match. You complete each other just like one, so come, let Andre supply you with love." Marinette and Jon were both surprised by the turn of events. But they both just blushed and agreed. Andre then said, "Blueberry for both your eyes, strawberry for her lips, cherry for his secret, and cotton candy for your personalities. Enjoy!"
Jon and Marinette waved goodbye and then ate their ice cream. They were still surprised about the turn of events. Neither knew what to say to the other until picked up some courage and asked, "Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Marinette was surprised but agreed. They shared a chaste kiss. They then heard Damian gagging in the background. They broke apart, and Jon raised an eyebrow, "You're one to talk. I saw your ice cream. It really represented, mmph." Damian covered Jon's mouth before he could blurt out the name of his sweetheart.
"Kent looks like it's time to go! By the way, if you hurt my sister, I won't hesitate to kill you." He then dragged Jon off, leaving Marinette to chuckle to herself. The next day, she said goodbye to Damian and Jon. She gave them both a quick hug along with an extra kiss for Jon. She was so happy that she had found her brother again.
(Time Skip of three years)
It has been three years since Marinette bumped into Damian and Jon in Paris. The two visited whenever they could, the same with Marinette. But they never told their families. Marinette didn't tell her family because they didn't know she was Ladybug. Damian didn't tell because he wanted his sister to himself. Jon didn't tell because the other two didn't. Jon's and Marinette's relationship was still going strong. They loved each other very much. Jon loved how playful and happy Marinette could be, but she wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone. She was his little devil. Marinette loved Jon because of how pure and sunshiny he was. She loved how he cared for her and was always there for her no matter what. Damian actually started a relationship with Rachel Roth otherwise known as Raven as Andre's ice cream had indicated all those years ago.
During the three years, many things had changed, though. A girl named Lila came and turned everyone against her except Chloe. Marinette pretended that she was sad, but really she was ecstatic that she didn't have to hang out with morons anymore. She found Lila quite pathetic. Lila let others do her dirty work for her. She hid behind lies and morons. Marinette never found her as a threat.
She also defeated Hawkmoth a year ago, but it was because he surrendered. So, she didn't take him to jail, she made him donate thousands of dollars to people who needed therapy from the akumas and do community service. He agreed, so she let him go. She was glad that Gabriel Agreste had learned his lesson.
Yeah, for the most part, everything was going fine, she wasn't stuck with morons, and she had her brother and boyfriend. Until her brother and significant idiot forgot that her bio family didn't know about her.
It was the end of another shitty day for Marinette. She collapsed on her chaise. She looked at the time and realized that it was time for her's and Damian's video calls. She groaned before getting up and getting her phone. She dialed his number before waiting for him to pick up. Once he did, she saw that Jon was with him. They all talked together animatedly. What Damian and Jon forgot to do, was make sure that the Bat-family didn't come back from patrol while they were still on the call. But naturally, the two idiots forgot.
So, two hours later, when the three were still talking, they didn't realize when Jason came into the room. They only did when Jason screamed, "Demon Spawn and Supes Junior are talking to a girl on the phone!" This alerted the rest of the Waynes, so they all ran into Damian's room. When they entered, they were met with quite a sight. A confused Jason was watching a small pixie-like girl screaming at Jon and Damian in what seemed to be Arabic, Urdu, Russian, English, French, Spanish, Romanian, and Greek.
Once she calmed down, although she was still glaring at the two boys, she introduced herself, "Hi, my name is Marinette."
Dick asked her, "What's your last name?"
Marinette replied, "It depends on who your asking. Here in France, I would be Marinette Dupain-Cheng. In the league, I would be Marinette Al-Ghul. But, my real name would most likely be Marinette Wayne."
Jason yelled, "Your married to Demon Spawn!"
Marinette scowled, "No, Tt, are you always this incompetent? I am Damian's older sister by two years. I am also Jon's girlfriend of three years."
Bruce took a deep breath and pinched his nose, "And the reason none of you said anything was because?" He looked directly at Damian when asking the question.
Damian snapped, "I didn't want to share my beloved sister. She is too good for you imbeciles. She is also too good for Kent. But Kent is better than the mangy cat or the ugly model."
Everyone looked at Marinette confused except for Damian and Jon. She quickly shook her head, "Don't ask. If you want to ask me some questions, I'll be there in a minute."
Damian realizing that she was going to use the horse miraculous to transport to Gotham quickly said, "Wait, no, don't!" But she had already ended the call making Damian curse in Arabic.
Seconds later a portal appeared and a girl stepped out. She then spoke, "Kaalki, dismount." A flash appeared around her and they then saw the same girl on the phone now in front of them.
This left Wayne's gaping, while Alfred asked, "Mistress Marinette, would Kaalki I assume, need anything?"
Marinette replied, "Oui, she prefers sugar cubes to recharge. Merci, Alfred."
Then Jon got up and shouted, "My little devil!"
"Sunshine", Marinette exclaimed in joy before kissing him with full force. He kissed her back passionately. She placed her arm on his shoulders while he held her waist and lifted her a little off the ground. After a little bit, there was an awkward cough that reminded them that there were others in the room. They gave each other one more peck, before reluctantly pulling away. Although, Jon's arm was still around her waist. Marinette tried to not focus on the aching in her chest that was telling her to pounce on Jon and smother him in love and kisses while he did the same to her.
Marinette sighed and tried to focus on the situation at hand, "It's nice to meet all of you. My name is Marinette Al-Ghul Wayne, and I am Damian's sister as mentioned."
They all stared at her strangely until Tim asked, "Are you sure you grew up with Damian, or that your mother is Talia Al-Ghul? You seem a lot more different from Demon Spawn."
She smirked at them viciously, "First of all, I am for sure Damian's biological sister. Second of all, I may seem like an angel, but I'm the devil in disguise, hence Jon's nickname for me. Third of all, I'm not as arrogant as Damian because Ra's was always abusing me since I was a girl. So, I am a lot worse than Damian, I just don't show it."
No one knew what to do with this information. Sure Damian already knew about the beatings, but no one else did. They stared at her in worry, but she just waved them off, "Don't worry about me. Ra's is dead, I'm living with my godparents, and I'm happy."
Damian then rose an eyebrow, "What about your moronic classmates?"
"Oh, I didn't tell you. This pathetic girl who threatened to take my friends away, made it so that no one talks to me anymore. So, yay! Oooh, also I should probably explain my life to you?" She then went on to talk about everything, how her life was at the league, what happened when Slade attacked,  her life in Paris and when she became Lady Spots, how she met Damian and Jon, what happened after that.
By the end of her story, everyone looked like they wanted to kill her classmates and Chat Noir. Well, almost everyone. Bruce was on the ground muttering to himself, "Why, why, why? I just wanted one of my kids to not be a superhero. Is that too much to ask for?"
While Bruce had his breakdown, Tim asked her, "Did you defeat Hawkmoth?"
"Yeah, I did. He surrendered, so I let him off with some requirements in place. I actually was thinking of doing something to expose Lila. As much as I hate the morons, their future will be horrible if they keep on listening to that pathetic bitch."
Damian looked at her curiously, "What were you thinking?
"You are going to invite my class to the Wayne Gala. There we are going to introduce the whole family, including me. Damian, you are going to bring Raven. I'll bring Jon obviously. If we disprove that she knows the Waynes, the rest of her lies will come crashing down." Everyone smiled obviously pleased with the idea.
So they spent the next month getting the gala together. They organized a contest that Bustier's class won. During the month, the Waynes got to know Marinette. While Damian did have a problem with sharing her, everyone still go to know her. They were officially scared of her after she won after sparing against everyone and then cussing at Damian in many languages. It made Jon fall more in love with her though.
Another problem was that the Waynes would walk into Jon's and Marinette's make-out sessions all the time. Once, Jon, had Marinette pushed up against a wall and he was kissing her passionately. Marinette had her hands in his hair, one of them playing with the ends of his hair. She had taken off his shirt and was kissing down his neck. Jon had groaned and had stopped her so he could kiss her neck as well making her moan in want. He was whispering about what he wanted to do with her at the same time. Through dazed eyes, Marinette looked up and finally saw her family looking at her, both Damian and Bruce had their jaws clenched. When Jon noticed them, he quickly let go of her. Dick, Jason, and Tim started laughing, cooing, and teasing them, making Marinette hide her head in his chest. This made Damian launch himself at Jon, but before he could, Marinette had already disarmed him. She screamed, "Don't hurt my boyfriend, Damian." He just huffed, but let it go. From then on, they made sure to lock the door.
It was finally the day of the gala. Marinette saw all of her classmates. They mostly looked nice, but Lila was wearing an incredibly revealing dress.
Tumblr media
It was then time for the reveal. Bruce went up to the stage and announced, "Good evening, everybody. I am pleased that you could all attend. Today, I would like to introduce all of my children along with their significant other. To start, my oldest son Richard Grayson, also known as Dick Grayson along with his wife Kori Grayson."

When her classmates saw Marinette they started screaming insults. She just raised an eyebrow at them, "Is there a problem?"
Alya yelled, "Yeah there is. You're not a Wayne, you never told me that you were."
Marinette replied, "We were never best friends so I was under no obligation to tell you anything. I am a Wayne. I just lived with my godparents in Paris until my dad found out about me. I am dating my handsome boyfriend, Jonathan Kent. I have given you so much proof. How about you question Lila. She claimed that she was dating Damian. Damian is two years younger than her and he is dating Rachel. She isn't close to the Waynes, I am. So, stop questioning me and question her."
Everyone looked at Lila, but she was incredibly pale. That showed everyone that she was lying. They started yelling at her. Bruce then spoke up, "Security, escort this class out of the gala." As security did so, no one stopped yelling at Lila.
Marinette and Jon then turned to the reporters and Marinette said, "Five questions go."
She pointed to one reporter, "Where do you live?"
"Paris like I mentioned earlier."
She pointed to another, "How old are you?"
"I am 17-years-old, almost 18."
She pointed to a third one, "Were you surprised about being a Wayne?"
"No, I knew that I was a Wayne my whole life. But I was sent to my godparents instead of my dad like Damian. But I still knew." She pointed to her family, "They were surprised about my existence."
She pointed to a fourth reporter, "How do you like being a Wayne?"
"I really enjoy it. They are so nice to me. I really cherish them and we all have a lot of fun together. "
She pointed to a final reporter, "Do you like being Jonathan Kent's girlfriend and how did you meet?"
"We met when I bumped into him and my brother in Paris. We spent the week together. We got this thing called sweethearts ice cream. The ice cream tells you who your soulmate is. The guy who runs it Andre said that we were meant to be together. Jon asked me to be his girlfriend after. We have been a couple for three years. I love Jon a lot. He's really sweet and considerate. I wouldn't trade him for the world." Everyone awed.
Jon then picked her up bridal style, "Now that this is over, we'll be going home to have some fun." He winked at everyone.
Marinette blushed at the implications, "JON!" But, Jon silenced her with a passionate kiss, carrying her off the stage.
As Marinette kissed him back, she felt so happy. She had a loving family and boyfriend. They accepted her and cherished her.
She didn't know that the league was going to be attacked, but it helped her grow as a person and escape abuse. She didn't know that she would get a boyfriend. She didn't know she would ever meet her little brother ever again or meet her family. She didn't know what the future had in store for her. But she did know that she was going to spend it with her boyfriend and her family, and nothing was going to stop her.
(Sorry for the pictures smack in the middle of everything!)

Note
could you do another fic where mari has too many overprotective relatives (batfam, jason in particular, adrien, luka, kagami, chloe, jagged, bruce, penny, clara, tony stark and the avengers maybe lol) and all the boys who want to date her are scared away by them until she starts seeing damian or someone else i love your writing and thanks! ♡♡
I loved this prompt immediately and I really hope I did it justice! Hope you like it!
The Never-Ending Cycle of First Dates
“No! Wait! He’s just kidding!” Marinette ran out of the building trying to grab the boy's hand before he could escape, but she was too late. Her hand slapped her forehead in defeat as yet another man hurried off before they could even order drinks. Turning her attention to where her target stood, she couldn’t help the bubbling anger directed at his smirk.
“Why must you ruin every date? It’s like you guys have a pool of names and you just reach in and see who's in luck to scare off the next guy that tries to date me!” She threw her hands into the air, only earning a chuckle.
“C’mon Princess, if the man can’t handle a little threat then how is he gonna stick around for the long term? Hmm?”
Marinette wanted to argue, but she knew it was pointless. Jason and the others were firm in their beliefs; Marinette must be protected from heartbreak at all costs. She tried arguing with them that if she never got hurt in the first place then she could never learn, but alas, her words seemed to fall on deaf ears.
“How did you even find us?”
Jason’s smirk widened which only fueled her rage.
“What? You thought meeting at the restaurant would actually change anything? I can find you anywhere and everywhere. Plus Adrien totally snitched.”
Marinette made a mental note to lay into Adrien later after she found the poor kid that Jason scared of.
“One day I’m going to find someone who isn’t scared by you lot and he’s gonna make it through the first date.”
She turned her back on Jason’s boisterous laughter. She was determined to prove her point. After all, there had to be one man in Gotham City that wasn’t afraid of her, right? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The rest of her week had gone as smoothly as Monday had to say the least.
Tuesday’s date was crashed by Kagami’s foil. One look at her slicing the bread and he didn’t even make it to the table.
Wednesday’s date was a double date with Luka and Chloe. Marinette begged Tikki to lend her a little luck, but the small God would do no such thing. At least this guy made it past drinks. Marinette almost cheered until Luka donned his infamous stare. She watched as her date squirmed uncomfortably before excusing himself for the bathroom, never returning.
Thursday’s date ended with the man strung up by his ankles, none other than Nightwing and Red Robin dropping in to apologize, claiming they thought he was trying to mug her.
By Friday, she was ready to cancel her date before it even began.
“Adrien, you guys are making it impossible to even think about dating.” She collapsed on the couch, letting out a small whine.
“I think that’s kind of the point Mari, besides, you’re a working woman now, shouldn’t you be focusing on your career-”
Adrien paused as his eyes narrowed in on Marinette’s hand mocking his lecture. Her hand paused as she noticed his now silent voice. Meeting his eyes, she simply shrugged.
“You sound like my mom. She’s worried that I’m too worried about dating but guess what? I kind of missed out on that experience in high school pining after a guy who wasn’t even interested!”
They both chuckled as they remembered the awkward dance they both did from the time they were 13.
“So what are you going to do about the date tonight?”
Marinette shrugged once more as she pulled at a piece of her hair, twirling it around her finger.
“Who is on date duty tonight?”
“First of all, it’s not called date duty,” he waved off the pointed look Marinette gave him before continuing, “and it was supposed to be Jagged and Penny but in case they fail, Tony is on backup duty and Jason is on backup, backup duty.”
“Not date duty my ass.”
Marinette sighed longingly as she pulled herself into a sitting position.
“I’m giving this one more chance before I swear off dating forever.”
Adrien chuckled before offering his hand to pull her into a standing position.
“Well, guess you better prepare to look good. After all, they always say if you’re gonna go out, at least do it in style.”
Marinette rolled her eyes as she pushed Adrien to the couch, ignoring his protests. If this was going to be her last date, then maybe he had a point of going out in style.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  .
Marinette pulled at her dress nervously as a black limo approached her outside of her apartment. She had checked the perimeter once as Marinette and once more as Ladybug; there was no sign of Jagged or Penny. Somehow though, that didn’t calm her nerves.
As the limo pulled to a stop, a man stepped out of the back seat causing her breath to hitch in her throat. As if him being drop-dead gorgeous wasn’t enough, her worst fears stepped out from behind him, wide grins on their faces.
“Oi, there she is Penny! Marinette, we tried calling you but you sent us straight to voicemail, that wasn’t very rock n’ roll of you. Luckily, this nice man right here was there to give us a ride, right Penny?”
Penny nodded sweetly as if the two of them were innocent victims of Marinette’s forgetfulness. She wanted to turn right back into her apartment and never leave again, but a small hand grasped hers, pulling it up to their lips, as soft and gentle as his movements.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I have heard many stories of you from my brothers and father. You seem to have impressed many powerful people such as the two strays I picked up off the streets earlier.”
His smile was playful as it coaxed a small laugh from her. It helped even more to see Jagged panicking in the background at the sight of the small gesture. This man, no, his name was Damian. Damian had already broken through the first wall without even knowing it. Marinette let herself feel a spark of hope at the thought of finally making it through a first date.
“Anywho, now that we have arrived, I must apologize for leaving you two here, how does the saying go? ‘High and dry?’ but I do have a date to continue.” He nodded to Penny and Jagged leaving them both with their jaws almost touching the ground.
If she had a moment, Marinette might’ve taken a photo, but she instead quickly grabbed Damian’s arm, shutting the limo door before either could protest. She didn’t bother to release the breath she had been holding until the apartments were gone from the rearview mirror.
“I am so sorry about them, they-” she tried to let the apology spill out of her mouth but Damian simply shook his head, that same playful smile monopolizing his face.
“I am fully aware of the so-called ‘date duty’ your friends have. After all, my brother is in charge of the scheduling.”
It was Marinette’s turn for her jaw to drop. This was Jason’s brother? The literal spawn of satan as Jason had put it. There was no way. He was so nice, and such a gentleman, there was no way they could be the same person.
“How come nobody ever told me you were in town? Last time Jason introduced me to the family, he made sure to wait for when you left on a business trip. I’ve only ever been invited over when you’re not there!”
Damian chuckled as if this was a normal occurrence.
“They knew I had a crush on you ever since I watched your alter ego take down an akuma three times your size. It was only a matter of time until I asked you out, but with Jason observing your every date, he made it quite difficult.”
Marinette felt her face flush as his words washed over her. A man that was actually interested in her and was willing to take on the trouble a date with her could mean? She lightly pinched herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.
“You know it’s only going to get worse from here right? Like, Jagged and Penny were only the first round worse.”
Damian leaned in, placing his hand overtop hers, that smile of his killing her slowly.
“Can I tell you a secret?”
Marinette nodded as she leaned closer, nearly closing the gap between them, her heart racing from the distance.
“I borrowed his rotation schedule and have prepared for every incident that could occur tonight.”
Marinette couldn’t help the words that slipped out of her mouth.
“I think I might love you.” Immediately she slapped her hand over her mouth letting out a string of apologies as she scooched away from the red-faced man. He cleared his throat, trying to overcome his shock as his smile pulled into a small smirk.
“Don’t apologize, just tell me again if you feel the same after we’ve finished the date.”
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Somehow, they managed to make it through dinner without a single hiccup. It was suspicious, but she was having too good of a time to care. She fell in love immediately with his animals as he showed off his many photos, commenting on whichever one seemed to make her melt the most.
They talked about where they had gone to college, where they were working now and what they were hoping for their futures. Marinette felt her heart swell with excitement for how compatible they were, it almost made tonight ending that much more painful.
As they stepped out of the restaurant, Marinette heard a familiar voice that made her blood run cold.
“Do you know who I am? I could buy this whole place and then you’d have to let me in! I’m the damn Ironman, doesn’t that count for something?”
The poor hostess was shaking her head, trying to apologize to the other guests for the wait he was causing. Marinette let out a defeated sigh as she took a step forward to intervene, but Damian’s hand intertwined with hers pulling her in the opposite direction.
“There aren’t too many places in Gotham City that Tony Stark isn’t banned from. However, you can thank my father for that. He agreed for me to host my dinner at his restaurant to nullify backup number 2, Tony Stark.”
Marinette almost wanted to laugh at the irony of a billionaire being banned from a small Italian restaurant in Gotham.
“There’s not much that Uncle Tony can’t fix by throwing money at it, but I suppose that’s pointless when it’s another billionaire causing the said problem.”
Damian sent her a wink that warmed her to her core. They decided to ditch the limo in favor of walking home, spending more time with each other coincidentally. Marinette felt her mind racing like she was in middle school once again planning her imaginary wedding and their future hamster.
He was everything she had hoped to find in a man and so much more. She honestly regretted not meeting him sooner, it would’ve saved her so much trouble over the years.
She opened her mouth, only to close it immediately as her eyes narrowed in on a figure leaning against her apartment building.
“Jason, what are you doing here? There’s no date to ruin now and I finally found a guy who can’t be scared off by your stupid date duty.”
She crossed her arms in defiance but Jason paid her no mind.
“Damian, I didn’t know you were home so soon. I would’ve locked you up in the Batcave to make sure this would’ve never happened.”
Damian scoffed beside her as he shoved his hands in his pockets.
“As if you could.”
The two men were locked in a staredown, leaving Marinette to wilt in the tension that had formed. She moved towards her apartment, only to be stopped by Damian’s hand for the third time tonight.
Turning her back to Jason, she watched as he brought her hand to his lips, his kiss still as gentle and soft as the first when he had given her hours earlier. She ignored Jason’s protest as she pulled his hand forward placing a quick peck on his lips.
The man’s face matched her own in shades of red.
“Does this mean you would be interested in a second date?”
Marinette nodded furiously before waving him goodnight, darting past Jason’s brooding figure.
“This is not the end of it Marinette!”
Jason’s threats felt empty compared to the excitement racing in her heart. She had finally broken the cycle of never-ending first dates and boy, did it feel good.

Okay so I have this whole head cannon about Alya accidently finding out that Marinette is secret best friends with Chat Noir. Let me explain:
So, after Lila has messed with Marinette’s stuff one to many times (whether that be stealing her sketchbook, slipping stuff in/out of her backpack, etc.) Marinette decides to get rid of her physical diary. There’s probably a lot of paranoia that leads to this decision, since it’s not like Marinette was planning on taking her diary out of her room any way, but also, Marinette knows that Lila is a slippery snake so it’s better to be safe than sorry.
  But, especially after becoming Ladybug, writing in her diary each day is an important and necessary habit for Marinette to keep. As someone with a lot of anxiety, way too many things going on, and a lot of critical thinking skills, it’s nice to have a way to work through her thoughts. Otherwise she’d probably find herself getting stuck in her head, thoughts running in circles, trying to relax. Plus, it’s a nice for her to have a place to write down all of the fears and worries that come with being Ladybug. Tikki is nice to talk to, but she doesn’t understand humans fully. This leads to Marinette needing something else to confide in about being a teen superhero and since she can’t do that with an actual person, the diary works.
While it might seem out of character for her to write down her biggest and most dangerous secret somewhere someone could fine, Marinette is shown to have a very trusting relationship with her parents, so she probably wouldn’t assume they would read her diary. Also, she is a fourteen-year-old girl and sometimes, especially at that age, we do things that are irrational just because we feel we have to (being angsty is an unavoidable problem that comes with puberty). Anyway, that is all to say that even if Marinette does get rid of her diary, she would still need a place to put her thoughts down. It helps her stay sane enough to avoid akumas.
She decides to start making a video diary and enlists Max to help her hide it. She doesn’t tell him what it’s for, just that she needs to know how to hide things on her computer. (okay and I know nothing about technology), but he’d help her learn how to encrypt it or lock it or something, so it’s hidden from anyone who’s actively trying to find it. That way anyone *cough*Lila*cough* looking for it would not only have to have the knowledge it exists but also enough computer skills to get through password protection and into the file. Either that or steal her whole computer.
Now that is a whole long introduction for the idea that a lot of these video entries have Chat popping up in the background asking to watch a movie, play a game, stumbling over to take a nap in her bed, etc. And maybe Marinette sometimes forgets to turn off the camera so there’s hours of footage of them playing Jenga or scratching behind his ears while he describes a cool bird he saw or any other friendship goals BS they get up to.
(For this head cannon to work we are also going to ignore how much space recordings take up on a computer BUT, because I’m nothing if not practical, even when thinking about teenage superheroes, I do actually have a solution to that too.
Maybe chat finds out and instead of telling her to delete he gives her a fancy smancy hard drive (with his rich boy money) to keep her recordings on since: 1. He sees how much it helps his friend and wants to support her 2. Marinette is the first friend he feels like he really shows himself to and he really likes the idea he can go back and watch their more mundane times together (Nino is his friend but even he doesn’t get to see the full Chat side of him, which Adrien probably feels is more who he is since it’s not something his dad can control. Also, especially when he starts getting closer to Mari and they start talking more about their emotions and he lets her see his softer side, she gets to see sassy chat and sweet Adrien mixed together.)
When he gives her the hard drive he tells her this and she’s super touched, and she doesn’t want to tell him that having a hard drive like this is against the whole point of getting rid of her physical diary in the first place. So, she starts putting the files on it and works with Tikki to find good places to hide it. She sees so much death and destruction as Ladybug, so she understands wanting to hold onto things like this. It’s a lot better than having to cut out the hours and hours long video of Chat helping her to make a maid outfit that he then refused to take off for the rest of the night.)
One day, Marinette is probably super stressed and has not been sleeping a lot, maybe has a lot of assignments due the next day. So, when she gets home from school she decides to just start her afternoon with a video entry to help calm herself before getting started on all of her work. Then, as a surprise, Alya just bursts in to hang out, they probably haven’t been seeing as much of each other since Lila is trying to drive a wedge in their friendship. Marinette would quickly turn off her monitor and overall look sketchy but would tell Alya she was just working on a project and not to worry about it. Alya would be super curious and would probably push Marinette on it but she’d stay resolute. Then, Marinette’s Mom would call that she needed her help really quick, Marinette would steal a glance at the computer but still go down to help.
Alya’s a good friend but she’s a journalist at heart, she would really want to know what was on the computer. Additionally, she would feel that Marinette has recently been pulling away from her and changing as a person, maybe looking at the computer would help her learn what has gotten into Marinette? She would turn the computer back on and the files wouldn’t be labeled with anything but maybe the date, so she’d click on one to see what these videos were for. It would quickly become obvious what they were and Alya would know she should turn them off, but Lila told her the other day that Marinette had been saying some nasty stuff behind people’s backs. Watching her diary could help Alya to understand Marinette’s motivations a bit more. It was a crappy thing to do as a friend, but she knew Marinette was a good person at heart and she was so sick of being confused by her new, troubling personality.
Alya would click on a random one and—due to some fantastic Ladybug luck—it wouldn’t have anything incriminating on the Ladybug front. It would instead just be Marinette discussing all of the projects she had coming up for school, her designing goals for the week, and her upcoming plans with friends. Overall it would be pretty mundane and would lack anything that would justify Alya invading her friend’s privacy. Alya would be starting to feel pretty bad and would be just about to close out of the video when there would be a muffled thump from off screen. Video!Marinette didn’t react but Alya wanted know what it was. Her confusion would be eased moments late when Chat busted through the trapdoor in the ceiling, already talking, “Mari! You have to teach me how to paint! I stayed up watching Bob Ross videos until 4 last night and I bet I could do that too!”
Alya would then watch as Marinette casually (looking happier than she had since Lila returned) respond to her “kitty” about how painting was a lot harder than it looked. The video would cut off soon after, showing a still frame of Chat hugging Marinette from behind, rubbing his head against hers and begging her to teach him. The computer would stay on that image until Marinette returned to find her shells hocked best friend. “YOU’RE FRIENDS WITH CHAT AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME????”

ice cream of singlism and amatonormativity (”Elation”)
Marinette is many a thing but smooth is not one of them. Dunno what happened since “Copycat”
Cat Noir fangirls finally get acknowledged by canon
so current logic is that romance = inevitable identity reveal because everyone involved forgot about "Cat Blanc" and "Truth" and "Lies" and "Ephemeral" ever happening? Yeah, sure, Plagg&Alya, whatever it takes for contrived reasons to deny ladynoir I guess
no but SERIOUSLY a few days ago I was rolling my eyes because someone was complaining about this show being "amatonormative" because apparently the concept of "love story" was completely alien to them. But the upcoming episode summaries suggesting that a teenage love story is MORE IMPORTANT THAN KEEPING THE CREW SAVING PARIS FROM A CACKLING MADMAN? That, my friends, is amatonormativity
(granted the two making decisions are allegedly incapable of understanding romance but why will any of the others involved agree to that BS)
oh lord but the way this went from the dodgeball game of "you're the only one who understands me" to "tell him I'll see him at school" is brutal. Insert your own meta about Marinette's lack of empathy with the boy whose biggest wish is to have friends.
we complain about how S4 went out of its way to needlessly demonise Chloé but not enough has been said about what it did to poor Wayhem. Remember back when Adrien gave Wayhem his e-mail and had video chats with him and stuff?
one thing I'll give them: I have never read this level of awkward in marichat fic
I'm so sorry for every marichat stan insisting that "it's the only healthy corner of the love square because they're FRIENDS FIRST" this episode is sinking fanon marichat by the minute
oh no please don't let this means that the third most annoying character on this show is going to be here you were doing so well
this episode is also sinking lukanette by the minute
this might be my aroace arse also being incapable of understanding romance but I am not following anyone's thinking any longer
my mind went "phallus symbol" but my mind is also soaked in Ikuhara anime
Tikki if S4 didn't end the world I'm pretty sure this won't, and if it will then maybe you shouldn't have spent the past four seasons shipping adrinette when you supposedly knew Cat Noir's identity even before "Dark Owl"
oh fuck it is a marichat episode OF COURSE they have to include André the Amatonormativy Man
oh god he's singing already. save me
nice NYC special shout-out though
is he REFUSING SERVICE UNLESS YOU'RE A COUPLE
good for marigami though
...well, I suppose that was a way of letting Marinette... not... face... the one struggle... that has consistently been keeping her back? Like... not letting her do it on her own, but have someone else do it on her behalf? (also how does he even know? who told him? he's clearly not some magical mind reader since he's not getting the vibe between them here)
I am not sorry for the true selves theorists though
I just can't tell whether there's supposed to be some kind of meaning to this conversation happening in front of a replica of the Statue of Liberty. More NYC special callback? Are we supposed to be recalling “Wishmaker”? I have questions,
I might have thrown my laptop out of the window of the plane if he DIDN'T end the akumatisation by kissing her
my man, isn't this like the third time or something someone denied ladynoir to your face, give it a rest with the RPF I beg
André the Amatonormativity Man is every toxic shipper bashing the character threatening their OTP
I know they're setting up "Kwami's Choice" here but I am not buying ANY of this logic, sorry
What I would buy, though: Gabriel's cataclysm getting worse every time he transforms so that every act of evil is now taking its toll on him and he COULD end this but is actively choosing not to
the subs are shaky but is he seriously telling her she's just a confused fangirl

Chapter 5
~Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie~
"Wellcome ladies so how's school?" Sabine said with a motherly smile smile then placing a freshly baked Croissants on the table.
"Where fine, just another day at the clown house, I swear that our classmates have no brain cells not one of them "Chloe said while spreading butter on her croissant then without any hesitation she ate it.
"I beg to differ dear but i think they still have one connecting brain cell,seeing as they are one and no one can break their bond"Mari and she also ate the croissant happily
"So Dumb,Dumber,Dumbest then? or all equally dumb?" Chloe mumble (she took another bite on her food)
"No it's like they all have an on and off button for their reasoning and common sense and Liela has the button" Mari
"And She uses her sausage her as an antenna the give them signals hahahahahahahhaha"Chloe
"Ladies that's not nice besides everyone has their own preference or style that they think is fashionable ... all though i wanna know who told her having a sausage as an inspiration for a hairstyle especially when she moves her head she looks like a paddle ball a had when i was a kid" Sabine
both Chloe and Marinette bust into laughter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Collège Françoise Dupont Clinic
*Bell *
Adrien is still sleeping soundly and the kind nurse doesn't want to wake him up and clearly from how pale his face is and how dark his eye bags are and how bone to skin he is, she made a decision to call his guardians to pick him up and have him take a proper rest and some good soul food too judging by how boney he is. this child is a model she understands this but this is to much and it has a medical term called MALNUTRITION so she's not gonna stand by and do nothing.
So she quietly and gentle as she can took photos and notes on Adrien body. because he is wearing a plain white T-shirt and a loose pants all she has to do is hold some of the cloth of the T-shirt to make it tight to show how small and boney he is and she all so did the same thing to the pants. His wearing a T-shirt so his some of is upper arm is shone so the nurse took a measuring tape and measure his arms and leg. And lastly because of the akuma attacks the School funds for the clinic doubled and because of this most of their equipments are brand new and the latest model so the bed has a scale built in it so she took his weight and height. and all of this is recorded in the clinic's CCTV camera she made sure of it.
After all that is done she neatly filed this info on her computer and flash drive then she called his guardians. fortunately for him his father and his assistant is so busy that they cannot answer their phone so it was Gorilla who was called to pick him up.
When Gorilla arrived the nurse was so scared of him she almost scream in fear when he suddenly appeared in front of her luckily she didn't.
"Hello Sir. how can i help you" Nurse
"Hi my name is SImon and I'm here to pick up Adrien" Gorilla (HIS NAME IS SIMON OH MY GOSH I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY!!!)
"Hi my name is Katty and I'm the school nurse nice to meet you"
"Likewise"
"Im sorry but before I hand over Adrien to you i need to see your IDs please"
"Sure"
"Ok it seems that everything is in order then you may take him home, and also my advice is to keep him stress free, eat and sleep more cause we don't want him to suddenly collapse now do we"
"Yes ma'am"
Then Gorilla slowly and Gently picked up Adrien like a porcelain princess and took his backpack/sling bag and went home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Collège Françoise Dupont Gym
"Ok class since Adrien is sick we need to still proceed to class. Now, I want all of you to make two lines.One for boys and one for the girls CHOP ChOP!!! " Gym teacher
“Um Sir. What about lila??” Rose
“What about her?“
“Lila Sprained her risk and ankle so she cant stand very long“ Alya
“Ok then Who’s Lila, Raise your good arm“
“Sir. I’m Lila Rossi“ Liela replied with a small smile and leaning into her left foot for effect
The Teacher saw her and slowly walk towards her while inspecting her body for injuries
“Which foot is sprained and which arm?“
“My right foot and arm sir “Liela said weakly.
“Can i check your arm and foot?“ The Teacher ask nicely
“Yes of course“
So someone brought a chair for her to sit while the Gym Teacher inspect her injuries
“Awww, Aw aw aw awaaa that hurts“ Liela cries dramatically like a spoiled dog. While the Teacher was just holding her arm not doing anything other than carrying it like a sausage
“Ok then Lila where's your medical note seeing as this is a “BIG INJURY” your parents shouldn't have let you go to school?“ The Teacher looking and talking to her like a person would to a two year old
“My Dad left us since i was young and my Mom is so busy that she’d forgotten about me“ Liela said sadly trying to make her tears drop not realizing that the teacher don't buy it
“Hush now don't cry dear I’m sure your mom is just tired now why don't you sit here and be quiet while all of us start the class,O.K“
“Yes sir“ with a final fake sob she smile at the Teacher.
“Ok,now two lines people, great now everybody just jog 20 laps then you are dismissed.But remember do not break your line and JOG NOT RUN OK ALIX AND KIM! if i see any of you break your line or run i’ll make everyone do 15 jumping jacks then additional 10 laps. Am I Clear! “
“Yes,Sir!!“ the Students then do as they were told while lila stayed seated smiling at her small victory and proceeds play on her phone and to search for more things to lie to make her even more popular.
While everybody was busy doing their task no one noticed the Gym Teacher also take’s his phone and contacted the School Nurse asking for Lila’s medical records and telling her what happen today.
Faking an injury to a teacher who was an athlete himself was a big No No but he cant just outed the child right then and there because she’ll get emotional and he doesn't want to cause another akuma.He’ll just do it the old fashion way... Making the parents discipline their own child. but first he needed her records.
“Did you just see what i just witness?“ Chloe while looking at her exhausted classmates after they finished 20 laps.
“What?“ Mari while handling her a bottle of cold water
“You really didn’t see that?,Thanks“
“You mean Liela’s ridiculous lie then yeah and so?“
“So? So?, Mari she just gotten away with it and it wasn’t even a good lie and acting“
“No, I don’t think she did“
“Huh?! Would her majesty care to explain?“
“Our gym Teacher is an Athlete who won medals in his time. He out of everyone here would have known just by looking at someone if they have any physical injuries“
“So he just let her go?“
“No. I don't think he would so let's just watch and see what he'll do, besides if he really fell for it then his just another idiot who needs to be replaced” Marinette said as she and Chloe backed their bags and left.
~~~~~~~~
“Hey Nino do you have any info about Adrien??“ Alix
“Yeah Nino what happen to him?, you were the last person we saw with him?“ Alya
“Well he looked sick so i send him to the clinic, I didn't know that he was that sick“ Nino
“Well I Just hope he gets better“ Alix
“So has anyone gotten started researching yet??“Alya
“Nope we were just hoping that will do it together like in a slumber party?“ Rose
“Actually that’s not bad soo who's house are we going?“Juleka
“What are you guys talking about? and where are we going?“ Liela walked to them when she saw her minions talking without her and of course she was escorted by the ever loyal dog Kim
“I umm“ Juleka
“Yeah where are we going?“ Kim
Everyone was looking at each other knowing that they can fool kim but not Lila.
“Well-“ Alya
“We were planning on a slumber party tonight but we haven't decided where will be staying?“Juleka
“Oh!! why don't we stay at my place my parents arent how so i have are house all to myself and you guys don't have to bring anything with you because and my parents just went to the supermarket yesterday“ Rose
“Really that's great so it's settled will head home pack then will go directly to Rose’s house“ Alya
“Great I can't wait to spend time with my very BEST FRIENDS! but aren't we gonna invite Marinette and Chloe?“ Liela
“No need they’ll just destroy and ruined the party. So what are we waiting for let GOOOOOO!!!“ Alya
After that everyone started packing their bags and left to their respective homes with a smile on their faces.
Masks and Music
(Part 1)
Part 2
I didn't think that my last post would've gotten ANY notes at all, so imagine my surprise when I find out that people actually liked it. After that suprise I thought why not and make another one so here we go! This is a Miraculous/Batfam crossover.
Imagine that Damian gets sent to Paris because the fam doesn't want him to become an emotionally constipated sad boi like Bruce and think that a change in scenery would help.
They don't know about the whole Hawkmoth situation because SOMEONE from the justice league decided that the while thing was a prank DESPITE that it was an ENTIRE CITY calling instead of a single person.
Like, aren't you guys supposed to be the world's greatest heros or something?
Who hired you?
Damian being the grumpy lil kid that he is holds a grudge and decides to not accept any calls or video chats from his family or tell them about Hawkmoth because that's what you get when you send someone across the world against their will.
(and because of plot convenience shhh)
Anyways, Damian goes to school as instantly adds Lila onto his mental list of people he needs to get rid of.
I mean, seriously, he's only been is the room for what, 15 seconds and he's already getting a migraine?
Great. Juusssttt great.
He sits in the back of the class with what seems to be the only person with brain cells in this room.
The dark haired girl just looks over and sees the disgust at Lila written all over his face and gives him a silent empathetic nod.
'This is unfortunately normal here.' she tries to convey through the small action.
He just nods back to show his understanding before turning around to observe the others.
In a few minutes Ms. Bustier walks in the room and asks him to introduce himself to the class.
It looks like the teacher never told the class that they were getting a new student because they all have to do double takes when they realize that there's a new face in the room.
He gives them the bare basics, telling them that his name is Damian Grayson, he's from America, and that he doesn't want any of them to talk to him before sitting down.
Clearly the teacher wanted him to say more or scold him for being so rude but a glare shut her up.
Later during a break period Lila tries to flirt with him and brags all about how she's met so many different celebrities and her achievements.
He tells her off and tries to move away but her nails are digging into his arms as she tries to convince him that he should stay away from Marinette.
Before he can maim her, the dark haired girl comes out from behind him and starts spraying Lila down like an unruly cat with some sort of strong smelling liquid from a spray bottle.
Lila screeches and stomps away.
When he turns to his hero the girl explains.
"It's a mixture of shredded lemon, expired maple syrup, vinegar, and pomegranate juice. I call it People Repellant but Thot Begone works too. Oh, and I'm Marinette by the way."
He eyes her hand before shaking it.
"Damian, though I assume you already know that. Can I get some of that by the way? I know a couple insufferable annoyances that would benefit from a spray down.
Marinette just blinks for a second before she bursts out laughing and that was the start of a great friendship.
Together they:
Make fun of Lila in the back of class.
Help eachother with homework (they only cheat off eachother when they REALLY need help)
Prank Lila in odd ways (Hey, just because she found hundreds of furbies hidden around her house that turn on one by one in the middle of the night effectively scaring the crap out of her when she's trying to sleep doesn't mean that it's their fault. She had it coming.)
Break a couple laws (shhhhhhh. Those toy stores don't need those furbies anyways).
Dare eachother over stupid things (they still insist that the cereal incident was caused by the other).
And overall become closer as friends.
They bring out the overdramatic chaotic gremlin child in eachother.
One time when Damian goes over to Marinette's place to work on a project he finds her singing a Disney song to herself on her balcony.
This isn't the first time they've caught eachother singing.
One time Marinette caught Damian in the art room at school humming one of the many annoyingly cheesy and catchy songs that Dick likes to listen to.
Despite him explaining the embarrassing situation to her she still teased him for weeks after.
He'll never get to live it down.
Damian shakes his head to get rid of the flashback when a devious smirk spreads across his face as a revenge plan comes to mind.
After carefully placing his stuff on the floor he sneakily makes his way across the space until he's right behind her.
That's when he joins in.
Screaming at the top of his lungs at first, effectively giving her a mini heart attack before eventually quieting down to a normal singing volume.
She glares at him, annoyed by his loud and obnoxious entrance before she starts singing again.
They eventually end up full Disney movie dramatically performing around her balcony with dance moves and over dramatic acting.
Is it bad that actual birds and other animals are appearing and joining in?
Damian totally kept one of the pigeons.
He named it Dolores.
(He later trained Dolores to attack Rossi on sight.)
When they're finished they end up on the floor out of breath.
They stay like that for a few minutes before Damian sits up.
"That. That was fun. I don't think I've actually ever sang before."
Marinette jolts up in suprise and turns to face him.
"Really? I never would've guessed. You have a really nice singing voice."
He would deny till his dying breath that he blushed when she said that but he covers it up with a smirk.
"Well I guess that's just because yours is so terrible in comparison."
He squawks when she jabs a finger in his side.
"Pshh. As if. Besides, my singing skills can't be worse then your gaming skills." She challenges with a cheeky smile.
"ExCuSe mE?!"
And that's how they spend the rest of the day playing video games, leaving the unfinished project to be completed on a later day.
Good thing it isn't due until 2 weeks time.
After a couple of hours playing video games, creating many possible Lila murder plans, eating pastries, and joking around, it's time for him to leave.
As Damian left for his place he got a feeling that something big was gonna happen.
Marinette also got the feeling but they both ignored it.
Little did they know, someone just happened to walk by and starstruck by the amazing singing they recorded the performance before posting it on the internet.
Imagine the duo's suprise when they wake up the next day to find themselves trending on the internet.
Luckily the video quality was pretty trash so their faces weren't identifiable but the audio was loud and clear.
The world was talking about the cute couple singing to their hearts desire on a balcony. If that's not cliche and adorable then the world doesn't know what is.
The assumption about their relationship status left them looking like tomatos but that didn't stop them from wonder why they didn't notice a creep recording them.
Damn Disney songs and their unnatural ability to distract people.
Of course Lila took advantage of the rising popularity of the video and talked about how she taught the two people in the video how to sing and gave them tips.
The two just walked past the idiot squad and sat down in their seats, making a mental note to come up with a prank later, when the akuma alarms came on.
They fall into their normal routine of Marinette running out to find a place to transform as Damian covers for her.
Oops did I forget to mention that Damian found out her identity because she crashed through his window in the middle of the night still transformed and asked him what's the answer to question 24 in their science homework because she just defeated an akuma by herself and was running on 20 minutes of sleep?
My bad.
Anyways it turns out today was the day Marinette had officially had enough of Chat's bullcrap.
It was gonna be a normal akuma situation.
Ladybug trying to fight the poor butterfly victim while chat noir either doesn't show up, tries to do everything on his own to impress her and ruins the whole plan, or just watches and complains about how she needs to get over her denial and date him BUT
This time he decided to actively try to push her in the akuma's way therefore putting her in SO MUCH MORE DANGER than she was already in.
Now she had to dodge out of the akuma's way AND CHAT'S!
WhAt ThE fUdGe?!?!
You think possibly killing Ladybug and trying to force her to beg for you to save her is gonna make her like you?!?
Just how hard did you hit your head when Gabriel dropped you on the floor when you were 2?
After the akuma was eventually defeated Ladybug told Chat to meet her on an abandoned rooftop that night because they needed to talk.
Chat being the oblivious person that he is (I swear I don't actually hate chat noir, this is for the plot I'm sorry) thought that it was for a love confession and became overly smug before leaving.
Making sure that he isn't following her, Marinette meets up with Damian at his place (school's over because of the attack) and asks him to help.
Later that day when the two miraculous holders meet up Ladybug distracts the Catboy by flirting with him while Damian uses his ninja skills for something other than sneaking up on her and giving Marinette mini heart attacks.
From behind he quickly hits a pressure point causing the other boy to fall unconscious.
Using her ALMIGHTY GUARDIAN OF THE MIRACULOUS powers, Ladybug takes Adrien's ring away and places a spell on him that makes it so he will never be able to use another miraculous ever again.
After they take Adrien home Marinette gives Damian the ring and Night Prowler is born.
He promises to do everything in his power to make sure that Selina and his family doesn't find out for the sake of his pride.
We'll see how that goes.
Night Prowler first officially appeared during an akuma named 'Break Dancer'.
Ironically, she was a ballerina that had to drop out of the finals in a competition because she broke her right leg the day before the show.
She could turn civilians into back up dancers and forced them to perform against their will.
They also worked as minions who would attack the duo for her while she stayed a safe distance away.
It was pretty obvious that the akumatized item was the music box held inside the bag that Break Dancer had slung around her shoulders but the real question was how could they get to it without becoming attacked by the backup dancer or becoming one of them.
Luckily (eheheh), a car with an open window playing music just happened to pass by before driving off.
Before it drove off, the music coming from the car was loud enough to play over the music box which caused some of the minions to become free again and run off.
Ladybug called her lucky charm and a Bobby pin landed in her hand.
As she looked around she noticed a store a couple blocks away that had a couple radios.
Unfortunately, the store was locked and closed.
Fortunately, she knew how to pick locks and a Bobby pin did come from her lucky charm soooo......
Who is she to deny literal gods.
They break into the store and grab a radio, and a speaker and rush over to where the akuma was causing chaos.
They turn on the radio, connect the speaker and turn the volume on as loud as it can go before flipping through the stations for a good song.
If they're gonna fight with music in the background they're gonna be picky about it and wont settle for anything other than epic.
While fighting they eventually get swept up in the music and end up singing along.
It's nothing less than full on majestic.
When the fight is over and the akuma is purified they find out that someone recorded it and posted it on the internet as well.
Now everyone knows that the beloved hero of Paris and her new partner were the two people singing on that balcony.
Ummmmm.....
Good thing that the video quality was trash right?
If it weren't for that their identities would've been busted the moment they started singing in hero form.
Luckily there aren't many people other than Damian that know what Marinette's singing voice sounds like so they're okay.
Well.... They WERE okay,
Until a certain rockstar and his agent came across the two videos and put two and two together.
So now King Sting (bee!jagged) and Peridot (turtle!penny) have joined the team.
Poor Penny, now she has to deal with two gremlin children and a some sort of bizarre man-child.
The next akuma confused the group quite a bit.
He didn't really do anything but sit on a rooftop waiting for the miracle team to show up.
They were all suspicious of him at first but when they did reveal themselves to him he explained his situation.
He was akumatized because his favorite rock band broke up but he didn't really want to take their miraculouses away.
He just asked if they could perform another song for him and he would give his akumatized item to them.
They all sorta looked at eachother and collectively went 'screw it why not' and sang another song.
If they were great before, they are absolutely AMAZING now.
Well that's what happens when you add a famous rockstar to a team of singing superheros I guess.
The akuma was blown away and true to his word handed over the rolled up picture in his pocket and was purified despite of Hawkmoth's nagging.
Haha screw you Hawky.
This time the ordeal was recorded by a news station and the 'hand over the akuma in exchange for a song' thing became a trend.
There were still normal akuma's that didn't follow follow it but those were far flung between.
It seems like Hawkmoth was getting annoyed by this so there started being less akuma attacks over the months.
Because of this some people were actively trying to get upset to attract one of the purple butterflies.
They traded one good thing for another I guess.
To stop that from happening the group started performing in public as superheros during concerts and festivals.
Because of this they became quite well known outside of Paris as well.
Is it ironic that more people know them as a band rather than a superhero team now?
When Marinette learned that they could change what their superhero costumes looked like if they put enough will into it she squealed.
Marinette designs superhero performance costumes for them whenever they have a festival to play at.
Whenever asked about their outfits they always reply with MDC.
Marinette's business gets really popular after that.
And since no one knows who MDC really is, she doesn't have to worry about the whole "Oh no me and my family are gonna be in danger!" thing
It's a win win!
Overtime they basically become a second (or third for some people) family to eachother.
Damian becomes more 'kid like' and open to others,
Marinette becomes more confident and overall happier,
Jagged gets to hang out with his awesome niece and her 'maybe more than just a friend',
And Penny gets a new outlet for stress and has so many more crazy stories to tell people.
One day while she's in the living room on the sofa watching 'The AristoCats' Damian just barges into the room and dramatically flops over onto of her.
He just lays there with his head in her lap and the rest of his body sprawled on the couch.
After everything that has happened this is normal for them now.
Without asking any questions or talking at all they just watch the movie together with the occasional remark or quip between them.
Around half way through the movie Jagged kicks down the door, effectively scaring the crap out of the two teens, while Penny follows behind him with an apologetic look on her face.
At first Jagged was yelling about something having to do with'Fang' and 'Dragon' and 'Miraculous' but after taking in the domestic atmosphere of the room he just sits down on the floor and joins in on watching the movie.
Penny, shaking her head in both amusement and exasperation, sits down on another chair and does the same.
While combing through Damian's hair with her fingers Marinette looks around the room.
'My life can't get any more complicated, can it?'
Oh boy, she just jinxed it.
This is just an idea I've had bouncing around in my head for awhile and I couldn't resist the urge to write it out. I AM planning on making a part 2 so if you like this keep an eye out for that. I'm by no means a fast writer though so it will take a while. But then again not many people will probably read this soo.... Yeah.
ML Snow White AU: Adrien Agreste and the Seven Faes
@princess-of-the-corner and I have yet again come up with a Disney Princess/Fairytale-inspired AU, this time on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with Adrien in the role Snow White since he’s pretty much s Disney Princess.
(The characters are 18 or nearly 18 because there’s an arranged marriage plot).
In this AU, Prince Adrien Agreste lost both of his parents and is now in the care of his Aunt Amelie, the kingdom’s regent. Amelie wants her son Felix to be the next king so she isolates Adrien and practically demotes him to a servant.
Nathalie and the Gorilla exist here but the reason why they don’t help Adrien is because Amelie fired them when she became regent.
One day, Adrien overhears Amelie and Felix plotting to kill him, so he runs away into the enchanted forest. Lost and scared, he comes across an empty cottage deep within the woods. After cleaning it up and preparing some food, Adrien falls asleep in one of the seven beds upstairs.
The cottage is the home of seven powerful Faes known as Tikki, Plagg, Trixx, Wayzz, Pollen, Nooroo, and Duusu; they return to find that someone is in their house.
The Faes look like humans but with animals features like antennae, wings, ears, tails, etc. They can also transform into the animal they have traits off: Tikki into a ladybug, Plagg into a cat, Trixx into a fox, Wayzz into a turtle, Pollen into a bee, Nooroo into a butterfly, and Duusu into a peacock.
While they’re all skilled at magic, they each have their own unique abilities: Tikki has control over plants, healing powers, and can give good luck to others; Plagg can destroy things, cause sicknesses, and give bad luck; Trixx can create powerful illusions, see through lies and disguises; Wayzz can cast powerful protective spells and sense auras; Pollen can create a hivemind between herself and any allies, as well as control weak-willed minds; Nooroo can sense emotions and temporarily boost others’ powers; Duusu can also sense emotions as well as summon all manner of creatures. The Faes also have the ability to speak to and command the animal that they are associated with.
After finding Adrien and waking him up, he begs them to not return him to his aunt since she’d have him killed. The Faes agree to let him stay in exchange for him keeping the cottage clean and helping them with whatever they need.
The Faes do various tasks around the enchanted forest like collecting food and materials or making things; while they keep some of the stuff they collect/make they also make deals with the humans from nearby towns, trading their magic skills and what they collect/make in exchange with whatever they need.
Just like with ‘Dragon Curse’ and “MermAdrien’, this AU has Lukadrigaminette as the endgame. Kagami, Luka, and Marinette are all various people Adrien meets.
Mari is a girl from the nearest town, and is the only one who goes this deep into the forest to hunt for food or trade with the Faes that live there. She meets Adrien while visiting the Faes to do their usual trading (ingredients for her parents’ bakery and silk for her tailor shop made by Nooroo’s silkworms) and, after taking one look at the rags that Adrien is wearing, offers to make him some new clothes.
Kagami was an arranged fiancé from a neighboring Kingdom. She hears of her Prince going missing and isn’t interested in his replacement (Felix) so she searches for the first in the time remaining before she’s forced to marry the new Prince. However she is drawn to the boy living in the woods with a bunch of Magic Creatures. She doesn’t recognize the boy as her fiancé because, the last time they meet was at a Gala/royalty meeting where he was wearing royal clothes and on his best behavior. This boy is goofy and kind of wild, and while the clothes Marinette made him are nice, they’re not really what a prince would wear. Also, Adrien wouldn’t be admitting who he is to anyone, not even his fiancé since he doesn’t know if she’s in on Amelie’s a Felix’s plan.
Kagami must find Adrien before her 18th birthday or she’ll have to marry Felix.
Luka is a traveling Bard, who’s part of a travelling band of musicians consisting of himself, Juleka, Rose, Ivan (canon Kitty Section), and four Faes known as Sass, Roarr, Daizzi, and Stompp. He originally met Adrien when his band traveled through the palace, though it had been after Amelie had demoted Adrien to servant so Luka didn’t recognize him as the prince. They run into each other again when the the musicians travel through the forest.
Due to their connection to Adrien; Marinette, Kagami, and Luka also run into and develop feelings for each other.
They later learn that Adrien is the missing prince as well as Amelie and Felix’s plot to murder him.
Some time later, Amelie and Felix acquire a magic mirror that they use to find where Adrien is hiding (cause they would have used it from the start if they had it already).
To kill Adrien they hire Lila Rossi, a cunning assassin with an affinity for deception and illusion/disguise magic. While she’s a colossal narcissist and as well as a bitch, Lila still has somewhat of a moral code and will only kill people who deserve it. So, Amelie and Felix lie to her about Adrien’s identity, telling her that he’s a treat to the kingdom.
Lila disguises herself as Marinette, both because it wouldn’t be odd for her to suddenly drop for a visit and because Lila wants some petty revenge on Marinette after the latter exposed a scam the former pulled in the past.
Lila-as-Marinette comes to the cottage at a time when she knows Adrien would be alone. She offers him some sweets laced with a poison that Amelie provided for her, and Adrien obliviously accepts one.
Once he bites into the treat, the poison takes effect and, as Adrien is about to lose consciousness, Lila drops her disguise and with a smirk says “Amelie sends her regards.” This is the last thing he sees before everything goes dark and he collapses, seemingly dead.
The others discover what’s happening when Kagami, who had seen Lila-as-Marinette heading towards the cottage, is confused when she sees that Marinette is with Luka. When Marinette confirms that she has been with Luka the whole time, Kagami tells them about the other Marinette she saw. Realizing that Adrien could be in danger, Kagami, Luka, Marinette, the Faes, and their allies rush back towards the cottage.
They arrive just as Lila is exiting the cottage and Kagami chases after her along with some of the Faes, while the others rush inside to check on Adrien. They find Adrien collapsed on the floor, not breathing and seemingly dead. Tikki, who had remained behind while the other Faes went with Kagami, checks him over and informs them that he’s still alive but under a powerful sleeping curse that even her healing powers can break.
Meanwhile, Kagami and the rest of the Faes catch up with Lila, who tries to evade them using her illusion magic. Fortunately, Trixx is immune to those tricks so Lila is quickly captured. They take her back to the cottage and interrogate her about her actions.
At first, Lila refuses to say anything but when she learns just who Adrien is, she reveals that Amelie and Felix were the ones who hired her, lying to her about who Adrien actually was and also providing the poison.
Tikki, who had remained behind while the other Faes went with Kagami, checks him over and informs them that he’s still alive but under a powerful sleeping curse that even her healing powers can’t break. It can only be broken by True Love’s kiss.
Since she’s Adrien’s intended betrothed, Kagami is deemed the best candidate to try breaking the spell. She kisses him and he immediately begins breathing but doesn’t wake up.
Turns out that Adrien has more than one True Love (Kagami, Luka, and Marinette); Kagami’s kiss only broke 1/3 of the curse and he needs a kiss from all of them to completely break it. Luka is the next one to try, his kiss causes Adrien to regain partial consciousness though he’s still out of it and unable to move. Finally, Marinette’s kisses Adrien, breaking the remaining bit of the curse and fully awakening Adrien.
Once Adrien is awake, he’s told what happened and they all begin planning on how to deal wit Amelie and Felix. They decided to ask Kagami’s mother, Tomoe for support and protection.
Spots Drawn in Marker Pt.1
Based on the AU by @miraculous-of-salt
(I promise this isn't full on bashing.)
Marinette sighed ever so softly as she tapped her pencil against her sketchbook. Today was not seeming to be an inspirational day and she had a portfolio to finish by the end of the month.
"And I just couldn't believe that Jagged's concert was almost cancelled. But he called me and I filled him with such inspiration and determination that he just couldn't help but rock out." Lila spoke in an airy, wistful tone that Marinette had no doubt she practiced to get just right. "He said I could even get VIP passes to his next show, thanks to what I did, as many as I want."
Well there goes any and all hope for any inspiration this morning. Lila just leeched any creativity out of any room she's in.
"Do you think I could get one?" Alya piped up, beaming over at Lila as she recorded the entire conversation. "I mean, since we're besties, I'd love an interview with Jagged. Lately he's been very tight lipped about a lot of things."
"Of course, Alya, anything for my second best friend!" Lila hugged the girl, beaming brightly as Alya began posting the recording on her blog.
Marinette merely rolled her eyes and settled back in her seat in the back of the class, going back to sketching her ideas for the morning. A beautiful scarf, maybe a nice warm sweater… Marinette was quickly lost in a world of design, a world she could have control of. It was something she had often turned to after Lila had caused her life to go spiralling into a pit where her friends brushed off her concerns for the lies of a shiny new toy.
Marinette was so caught up in her sketching, that she didn't notice when Miss Bustier came in, guiding along a girl who shared a wink with Lila. If only she had noticed.
"Class, we have a new student joining us today. This is Rébecca, she just transferred to our school today. I hope you will all give her a warm welcome." Bustier beamed at her class as many of her students mumbled clumsy, half-hearted hellos.
 Marinette glanced up from her sketchbook and took a good, long look at the new girl. She was tall, slim, with dark bluish-black hair that reached her shoulders. Marinette could tell by looking  at them that her clothes were Gabriel brand, the skinny jeans clinging to her long, long legs like a second skin, the leopard print top accentuating any curves the girl may have had.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all. Lila has told me so much about you all!" Rébecca beamed at everyone, and that instantly made Marinette narrow her eyes a fraction, while Rébecca strode over to where Lila and Adrien sat, sending a flirty little smile to the model. "And I heard you're quite the helpful one, of course. I'm so glad you volunteered to show me around today."
Oh, that was it. Lila brought along a croney to try and manipulate Adrien some more, maybe help granduerize her stories. Well, this was certainly becoming a fun class. Marinette pressed her lips into a thin line as Rébecca sat down next to Adrien, causing the boy to be uncomfortably sandwiched between the two girls. It made Marinette's blood boil at how the two girls kept pawing at the model, who clearly wanted to get away, while Alya and the others just cooed and urged it on.
Honestly, this entire class has gone crazy.
Marinette made a move to go down there and get them to stop, but Adrien had looked back at her and given her a look that pleaded that she didn't. That's what he wanted, for her to sit down, shut up, and not cause trouble. It took everything in Marinette not to snap her pencil as Miss Bustier began to lesson.
Adrien didn't quite know how to feel about this new girl hanging off of his arm, seeming overly cuddly with him, fluttering her lashes and trying to get most of his attention.
"How exactly do you two know each other?" Alya had asked when she and Nino sat down with the duo and Lila. Lila had only perked up, and got a somewhat secretive smile on her face, while Rébecca let out a soft giggle.
“All I can say is, Alya, that Rébecca is my best friend.” Lila boasted, giving Alya an overly obvious wink. Alya stared at Lila, as if slowly digesting her words before her eyes lit up and her hand shot for her phone.
“You’re serious?!” Alya began to open an app on her phone, but Rébecca reached out a hand to stop her, then gave Adrien a pleading look.
“Adrien, I’m very parched. Do you think you could grab me a soda, please? I would greatly appreciate it.” She slid a hand slowly along his arm, giving him a smile then when their eyes met.
Adrien opened his mouth, but then nodded and made his way to the lunch line, which had grown fairly sizable as lunch was halfway over.
“You’re Ladybug?!” Alya beamed as she reached out and took Rébecca’s hand, an eager gleam in her eyes. “I knew Marinette was wrong about everything! Can I see the earrings?”
Rébecca nodded and pulled aside her hair from her ear, showing off the black spotted red earring, making Alya practically squeal with delight.
“I just want to say that I’m so honoured that you chose me to be Rena Rouge.” Alya took Rébecca’s hand, so awestruck that she missed the surprised look Lila and Rébecca exchanged.
“Well it was Lila that gave me the glowing recommendation.” Rébecca grinned as Alya began practically bursting with excitement as she began dumping question after question on Rébecca, who answered every one with ease, puffing out her chest with pride. Nino even seemed to get into it, thanking her profusely for allowing him to become Carapace, thankful he was able to protect the people of Paris.
    All the while Marinette was seated on the other side of the cafeteria with Rose and Ivan, trying her hardest to design something new for Kitty Section’s concert in a month, completely unaware of the imposter across the room. She was merely smiling as she discussed with Rose the possibility of adding more sparkles to the outfits, while Ivan was increasingly pleading for them not to.
 “Oh come on, they won’t be that bad.” Marinette smirked up at her distressed classmate, playfully sticking out her tongue. “Maybe I’ll even make the costumes neon orange.”
“Don’t you dare..” Ivan growled softly, but any playful banter was cut short by an explosion nearby that shook the school. Many students let out surprised screams as trees seemed to burst from the floor out of nowhere.
“Hello Paris, I am Dryad, prepare to start tossing away those construction sites you use as excuses to cut down my precious trees!” A voice called out, echoing across the area, and it was then a panic began. Students cried out and began running in various directions, as the branches stretched from the trees and began snatching up various people.
Adrien ducked off into an alcove, and thinking the coast was clear, transformed and took off, completely unaware of Rébecca watching from around the corner, a stunned look on her face.
As soon as school was over, Marinette stretched and let out a soft groan. Her body felt so stiff from that akuma battle earlier, Dryad had been an eco-activist who had been angry that her favourite park had been dozed over to make room for a spa, so she had been an easy target for Hawkmoth.
“Mari, I have to tell you something.” Alya ran up beside her and grabbed her arm, stopping her friend in her tracks. Marinette gave her a smile, though silently wished she were heading home right now for a nap. She just felt so drained after the day, and she wanted to relax with a nice cup of hot cocoa and some cookies with Tikki.
    “Oh, did you get a new scoop?” Marinette’s smile widened when she saw the eager look in Alya’s eyes, the slight bounce in her step. She knew right away that the young reporter had quite the story if she was stopping Marinette right outside of school.
    “I sure did, and it’s all thanks to Lila.” Alya grinned, but it quickly dimmed when the smile fell from Marinette’s face. She then huffed and crossed her arms, cocking a hip. “Marinette, this jealous streak of yours is getting annoying.”
    “I’m not jealous, Alya, I’m just tired of you believing her lies, which are so obvious.” Marinette crossed her arms, her own annoyed expression matching Alya’s.
    “God, I don’t know why I even try with you. You’ll see soon enough what a fool you’ve been, never giving Lila a single chance. When you see my interview tomorrow, you’ll be begging Lila for forgiveness.” Alya said this in the most confident tone she could ever have spoken, making Marinette’s frown then press into firm line.
    “Alya-” Marinette’s words died as soon as Alya held up a hand and began storming away. The young girl felt a heavy weight in her heart as she watched her best friend walk away. Why did it feel like she was about to walk away from their friendship..?
Marinette shook her head. No, she wouldn't let it come to that! Whatever stunt Lila was trying to pull, it wasn't going to work, Mari refused to back down and let her win, because if Lila won, she'd oh make things worse. She's hurt Marinette's friends, keep using them like she had. And she might even get her hands on Adri-
Adrien. Oh no, that new girl was trying to sink her claws into Adrien too, wasn't she? It just hurt to think about how those two would try and manipulate Adrien. But he wouldn't fall for it right? He knew Lila was a liar, he wouldn't fall for any tricks..
Marinette made her way home, tightly gripping the straps of her backpack, an uneasy feeling rolling in her stomach.
Adrien frowned as he was dragged off by Rébecca, who was clutching his arm like a vice.
"Rébecca, what's this about? I have a modeling gig in a few hours, so I can't stay very long.." He tried to point out, stumbling slightly when she abruptly stopped and turned to him, realizing the two of them were in an empty classroom. "Rébecca, is something wrong?"
".. I can't believe it. My Kitty has been before me this whole time.." Rébecca blushed as she slid her hand down his arm, gripping his hand lightly. "I've been so blind."
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Adrien blinked in surprise as the girl set her other hand on his chest.
"Don't you recognize me, Chat? Don't you recognize your Ladybug?" She whispered, biting her lower lip. "I guess without the mask, I'm not so special anymore.."
Adrien felt his breath hitch at her words, his mind racing. No, she couldn't be.. Could she?
"I accidentally saw you detransform when I was trying to sneak back into school after our fight with Dryad. I'm sorry, but I thought since I knew, it was only fair to tell you.." She whispered, looking away as if in shame. Rébecca was internally thankful that Lila told her everything she needed to know about Adrien and the class, and was even more grateful she had given into Lila's silly little plan to try and trick the class more. Being Ladybug could be fun, afterall, she always wanted to be famous.
"What, no! M- my Lady, that's not true!" Adrien blurted out the words before he could stop himself, alarmed at the sight of the tears beginning to stream down her face.
"The.. the reason I've been rejecting you is because I've been in love with you, Adrien. And when I found out that you and Chat Noir were the same person, I just couldn't believe it, but it made so much sense" Rébecca leaned closer, their bodies pressing lightly together. "You're right, kitty, we are meant for each other, I was just simply blind to it.. Do you think I could get a second chance, please? I love you, Adrien."
Adrien was silent for the longest time, his mind trying to process all of this. This was Ladybug..? His heart began to pound as she poured her heart out to him, his hopes skyrocketing. She loved him, she really loved him! It felt like his dreams were coming true! Grinning, Adrien leaned close, their foreheads pressing lightly together as he tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear, eyeing her earring before chuckling.
"I love you too, my Lady. We're soulmates, something silly as a misunderstanding could never tear us apart." He murmured, and both of them leaned closer and shared a soft kiss, Rébecca practically preening as she ensnared the gullible model.
Marinette huffed softly as she stared at her essay. School had to be built to torture people, there was no way these institutes built up every person of every walk of life, because these essays and term papers were a pain in the butt.
"Tikki, I think my eyes are going to explode.." She groaned as she closed her eyes and rubbed them, feeling the beginnings of a migraine beginning to form.
"It's probably because you stayed up all night." Tikki scolded her, the alarm clock next to Marinette suddenly going off, making the girl jump in her seat.
"Oh no, I'm going to be a total zombie in school today.." Marinette groaned as she put her face in her hands. She hadn't even realized she had stayed up so late, but she had really wanted to finish this dark essay before it became a bigger problem than it was worth. She should have been more mindful.
It was then that her phone beeped. When she looked at the notification, she realized Alya had published that interview she had mentioned yesterday.
"Well, since I'm up on time, I can watch it while I get ready." Marinette shrugged and tapped on the video to play it, and began getting dressed.
Alya was seated in her room, beaming proudly as she sat between Lila and Rébecca.
"Hey guys, it's Alya your lovable Ladyblogger here. I'm here to give you guys the scoop of the century! Over the past year, you've all come to know my amazing best friend, Lila, and her amazing exploits!" Alya grinned as she wrapped an arm around Lila, giving her a quick side up before sitting up again. "Well, Lila has managed to convince someone very special to give me an interview at long last, without her mask."
Marinette watched as she brushed her teeth, raising a brow as she took in Alya's words.
"Everyone, I'd love you to meet our very own Ladybug, finally showing her face, right here, on my blog!" Alya grinned like a cat who had cream.
"I have to say, it's an honour to finally reveal myself to all of you, especially on one of the most important blogs ever. Without you, Alya, I think I'd be lost. You always do the best detective work, and give everyone the greatest stories." Rébecca praised, carefully stroking Alya's ego. "Lila finally convinced me to show myself to the world. You're right, Alya, the world has the right to know.'
Marinette felt the toothbrush drop from her mouth as she stared at her phone screen, the blood beginning to pound through her veins.
"Tikki.." She croaked out after she spit her toothpaste into the sink, her body beginning to tremble. "Oh God, Tikki, she's lying.. She's- she's claiming to be me!"
"Marinette, you need to calm down!" Tikki flew in front of her Chosen's face, panic making her gasp as she saw the tears beginning to well up in Marinette's eyes.
"Why would Alya do that?! I've told her time and time again that I want to keep my identity a secret! It's important to me, it keeps everyone I love out of danger, why would she do this?! Now Rébecca's family could be in danger!" Marinette pulled at her pigtails as her mind began to race.
"Marinette, please, calm down! Maybe you can tell Alya these things at school today! I'm sure she'll listen if you calmly explain these things to you, I'm sure she'll fix it."
".." Marinette sniffled and wiped away the tears. "You're right, Tikki. Alya has to at least think this is strange, it would be out of character for Ladybug to suddenly out herself like that.."
But when Marinette got to school and tried to talk to Alya, the girl merely cut her off and gave her a glare.
"I told you that you'd regret it, Marinette. I told you to try, and look at how things are now, even Ladybug herself thinks you're being unreasonable!" Alya snapped, motioning to where Rébecca sat with Lila, the class all overjoyed to have their wonderful hero Ladybug in that very room! The sight made Marinette feel ill.
"But Alya, Ladybug is always saying how she wanted to keep her identity a secret. Why would she suddenly start exposing herself, while Hawkmoth and Mayura are still at large?" Marinette held out her hands, trying to get Alya to see some kind of reason.
"You know what? I can't believe you're being this selfish right now. Honestly, this is the biggest story I've ever released and you're trying to ruin it!" Alya threw her hands up, catching the attention of a few of their classmates.
"Alya, we're best friends! Please, I just-" Marinette began,but was cut off again by Alya jabbing Marinette in the chest with a finger.
"Exactly, which is why best friends call each other out when they're being unreasonable,when they're making a complete fool of themselves! Look at you, you aren't even looking at the facts, Marinette, this jealous vendetta you have us ridiculous!" Alya snapped, then turned on her heel and stormed away. Marinette was left standing by her desk, her stomach coiling into a nervous ball.
Adrien entered the class not long after, a wide smile on his face. Before he could say anything, he caught Rébecca's eye. The girl stopped talking and abruptly got to her feet and rushed over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck as the two shared a passionate kiss.
Marinette felt her heart fall to the floor and shatter.
"Whoa, dude, didn't you two just meet yesterday?" Nino looked confused, as did the rest of the class. Inside, Lila was seething with rage, but she maintained a small smile.
"It may seem like that, but.. We've known each other for so much longer. I've been in love with Ladybug ever since I first met her. And it turns out, she felt the same way." Adrien beamed, lovingly kissing Rébecca's cheek.
Marinette began running before she realized she was doing it. She ran passed Alya, who gave her a look that screamed 'you took too long to confess, this is what you get', a confused Adrien, and a grinning Rébecca. She ignored the shouts for her to come back as she ran and ran, the tears streaming from her eyes.
She didn't have the proof, because the last time she had outed a lie as Ladybug, it had had disastrous consequences. And nobody believes her! No one saw the truth!
Marinette ran from the school and kept running, her lungs soon burning, her muscles soon aching, before she found herself into one of the small parks, which was completely deserted.
Marinette fell to her knees beside one of the fountains, burying her head in her arms as she rested against the basin, crying so hard, she soon passed out.
