okay buck and tommy have reconciled but it’s new, fresh and they aren’t really talking about it with anyone. buck just got done dating a serial killer who kidnapped his pregnant sister like, he isn’t ready to talk about his romantic life plus he’s worried it’s not real yet, you know? tommy already left once, you know? so they’re in this delicate space, this little bubble that’s just them, learning each other without anyone else’s thoughts or opinions.
then bucks in a horrible car accident. it’s so bad eddie grabs the next flight to la. everyone is clustered around in the waiting room. maddie is so so pregnant, tommy can’t believe it. he walks in like he isn’t sure he should be there but knows he couldn’t possibly be anywhere else. it’s evan, it’s his boyfriend. sort of.
he’d heard from one of the guys at the 133 that buckley was down. bleeding out from a mangled jeep and he rushed over immediately but not immediately enough that he isn’t met with a chorus of everyone else who loves evan buckley.
and maddie glares at him and she’s like, what are you doing here? and tommy just shrugs like. we were taking it slow. he didn’t want—and then his voice cracks and he cracks and bobby pulls him into a hug and he gets to wait with them, wait to hear about evan and if he’s going to make it through a third time, between maddie and eddie. it’s horrible.
and when buck does wake up, he’s like please i need my phone i don’t know if anyone’s told him! but tommy’s in the doorway and it’s like, ah there he is. you know that feeling when you look over and you’re like ah, that’s my person
