hello again! i am here with another Fraymotif request, chipping at the total of Knight of Light fraymotifs because i love your writing So, what are your thoughts on Knight of light + Prince of Void ? whatever it is, i hope you have fun writing it, thanks again for your time!
Hello again! you keep my inbox warm for the winter /pos! We got another Light/Void combo on our hands, which is tied for the most extreme Aspect opposites with Life/Doom. This also isnt the first Knight-Prince Fraymotif, as Dave and Dirk had Discordant Unison.
Knight of Light [one who protects and protects through information, relevance, and fortune] + Prince of Void [one who destroys and destroys through uncertainty, emptiness, and absence]
The Prince of Void is exceptionally powerful here, due to the "destroying through Void" application of their abilities. You see, the Prince uses absence and emptiness and gaps as a focus for their destruction, so literally any gap or hole in the Target's defenses is where all of that is headed. On top of that, the Knight's ability to protect information and through information, would sort of allow the Knight to put like... metaphysical blinders on the Prince?
//Hold on drawing some doodles this one is getting silly
So the Prince is completely focused on wrecking the Target. This is not just for the Prince, also, but for the rest of the Knight's allies. You see, because the Knight and the Prince have opposite Aspects, their Classes basically get souped up, to the point where the Prince is Voiding all sorts of stuff. Because the Classes are resonating, the Prince commands the Knight in a way, which is supplemented by the Prince being one who destroys the Aspect which opposes Knight. So while the Knight 'raises the shield' for the Prince, the Prince appears to foster that which the Knight requires very much in a Prince-Knight relationship. That is to say, the Target is immesurably screwed, because any gap in their defence, physical or metaphorical, results in their loss. The Knight keeps the relevance of the Target in place while the Prince simply goes ham on them.
This one kiiinnnd of got away from me a bit, so I really hope you could follow any of that. There is a real possibility that I come back and redo this one at some point, but I am laughing too hard at the damn horse analogy to let it go anytime soon. Look forward to your next request!
#fraymotif#homestuck#request#knight of light#prince of void#if you think about it#both the Prince Class and Void Aspect have ties to horses#the Prince through Dirk's My Little Pony thing and Eridan's Seahorse dad#and Void through Equius and Horuss#so if anything this is like#fated or something#totally relevant I swear

hi! i really liked that deepdive into the light aspect post you did, and the one on the prince of time, they’re honestly fascinating. you raise very interesting questions.
i was wondering if we could get your thoughts on the void aspect? i’m interested in seeing what a fellow knowledge class of my opposite aspect would have to say about it
- the person who thought they might be an heir of light, from the original ask. i’ve settled back into seer of void now, if you were wondering :]
My thoughts on the Void aspect are almost non existant.
Its like trying to explain the difference between The Sun and a Blackhole, but not, at the same time.
Void players are weird. in my experience probably one of the weirdest types of people.
Its cause of that I tend to not hit on Void aspect much. And theres probably a decent reason for it somewhere outside that vague explaination, its my technical opposite and its entire "thing" is the exact opposite to everything I mentioned in my Light aspect post; Void players are riddled with misfortune and a persavive sense of being outside others line of sight or thought process. Its about being obscured, secrecy, being devoid of thought in others, abstract nothingness, darkness, knowledge that others dont know - maybe even the outright forbidden. and its also more than anything about ignorance, intentionally not wanting to know unlike a light player, pure purposeful ignorance, the types to find most of the badluck even when its goodluck, instead of the vice versa like Light. Its wanting things to stay in obscurity, to be obtuse, wanting to disappear and embracing that you just might do so and be fine with it enough to not bother changing your unfortunate fate, or perhaops, understanding where to stand where you are instead of fighting for a spot in the limelight or giving up and knowing you wont be. Void players are dubious. The Void aspect itself is incredibly dubious.
Its not so much that you cant be ambitious like a light player.... Its more like, you go about the ambitions a very unusual way. Its productive; but not in a way that actually helps out of the void feelings. For some this might be through intentionally hiding information, or outright lying a lot to get what you want. Deceit is, after-all, obscuring information and the truth. It could be as mild as blocking out sunlight with sunglasses, or wearing a sleeping mask despite prefering to have a light on while you're asleep. (In a metaphorical way or literal way).
The void aspect is, at its core, about hiding things and the very literal Void, just as easily as the more metaphorical or social dynamic based things. Its genuinely tied to the Abyss, and Eldritch beings of a HP Lovecraftian level scale, as we have confirmation that its deeply rooted into the Horrorterrors themselves and the Furthest Ring of Space. Those tied to the aspect of the Void struggle with their own irrelevancy, not feeling they amount to enough, but instead of fighting it the same way you might see a Light player, for instance, try to become a walking piraha in the streets; a Void aspect haver will often times just cope with what they have or dont have. They will lie by omission or directly, keep quiet so nobody knows they actually dont know the answer to something despite giving off the impression of maybe being erudite and mysterious on the surface, and they often times than not, the type to give off the energy of someone with a full deck of cards when they really dont, which results in tripping others up to get a leg up if they are that sort of person.
You see where I am going with this?
This isn't me demonizing them, either. what reasons the individual Void player has for this behavior is just on them. However, what i mean by 'coping', look no further than our canon examples of Void players. Horuss and Equius Zahhak and Roxy Lalonde. Void players just arent flashy (the only exceptions to this would likely be Bards and Princes of Void, as they act out in Light esque ways)
Roxy used alcohol to cope. Horuss used his denial as an excuse, and would 100% deny reality. Equius is- well, Equius, hes in denial of his feelings for members of lower castes out of pride but makes no real move to ever really act on his detest for it, even being moirails with Nepeta willingly, and doesnt exactly fight back against anything going on in the story. He also has the stern belief of "knowing his place" on the hemospectrum; in his society he is one of the higher members and he is self aware, but like most heirs, he hardly knows how to properly use it and instead winds up creepy and awkward rather than an inherently sinister highblood. He inherited nothing and therefore he has no real story for himself outside what we saw of him. He let himself die on purpose; he had no issues with actively helping vriska sell off doomsday machines with complaints but with no real actions to back them up; he likely helped Vriska even figure out wherte Mindfang hid her journals, Horuss is likely self aware of Rufioh wanting to leave him but he intentionally acts ignorant and goes on rants to stop him, obscuring Rufiohs attempts at agency and obscuring the truth from himself, so they stay stagnant in place without fixing any real problems present, and while I dont believe theres any dialogue about his thoughts on the situation with Damara, we cannot forget that Horuss being used to cheat on her was one of the setting stones for a completely voided out doomed session. And yet, Horuss acts happy and indulges in Meulin's toxic positivity to cope with the fact hes dead.
The Void for some reason is often associated with Alcohol, and while I wont get too heavy into all of that, most people know exactly what people use Alcohol for when they are down and out, they use it as an escape from the truth, an unhealthy one. And it definitely matches up to the Aspect of Void. I feel like alcohol is only one example of how all Void players are constantly trying to "fill the void" in their lives though, itd be unfair to only use it as the primary token theme, Equius had robots and creations to stop his depression, he even uses Nepeta to a degree to soothe him. Horuss uses his unhealthy relationships to Meulin and Rufioh as a filler. Mom Lalonde uses alcohol and super over the top gifts to her daughter out of guilt for the fact she knows the world will end eventually and knows she has a part to play in her own daughters (and mothers) suffering. They dont quite, fight to get out of the situations they feel they are put into. They just carry on into it. With Roxy probably being the only example of one who does want to do something to better her life later, due to the rebellious nature of Rogues.
Void players to tend be easy to spot, very ironically. They have a tendency to be socially drifting. And I dont mean they are DriftersTM, of political movements for clout. I mean they very much go with the flow of whats around them, even when they are utterly miserable in the process, they know they are too normally, but they dont vcare to upset the status quo. Themes of obfuscation and depression are big when it comes to Void players, I feel theres basically no denying it. Feeling "empty" no matter what they do is one of the base things you see in them.
One thing thats not often talked about is the fact all Void players try to align themselves in what is more socially acceptable in the present moment while considering these. Light players, afterall, are often questionable and toss out any normal social convention if they feel they dont make sense; as stated, we are flamboyant socially. Void players will often not. Their general behaviours can be seen as eccentric still, of course, there's a reason Ive cracked jokes about how they can be dodgy and try to skirt out of topics and situations if it means being out of the way, but void players try to avoid being less socially normal. Which might sound contradictory but its really not. Because, I mean, whats most likely to ensure you can stay stagnant in your own personal bubble without "causing a scene" more than looking like your average salary man or being seemingly normal and even coming across as "boring" and having "little to say about yourself"? If you do this or being something akin to this with that mentality - you are likely a void player. You dont want to stand out the same way a Light player would want to. To be truly obscure is to be normal, to be hidden even in plainsight. To blind others by looking average, or making yourself out to be "boring", possibly quite a bit more than you really are.
Its the nihilism of it all being pointless. would being in the spotlight really make you feel fulfilled? would it really mean anything? "youll just die or disapear into the void/ether eventually." But more importantly - does something HAVE to necessarily matter or be meaningful for it be worth mattering or in order for it to be worth putting more effort to be more unique at the same time?
#void aspect#ramblings#homestuck analysis#im sure theres more I could say here but#Its been cooking for a while

Equius breaks any and all conventions. He's not pretty, im fact the exact opposite, so he doesnt get the bishie yaoi treatment like Gamzee and Eridan. Yes he spews castist bullshit all the time, but thats not all there is to it, but of course the vast majority of the fandom dont bother to look closer as to why this is. He barely appears, and the narrative and most people consider him a joke, yet his impact on all that exists in Homestuck is incredibly vast, even if it's not apparent. He's got a stick up his ass and completely serious all the time to a humorous degree, yet he actually likes to engage in silly things (Nepeta was right). There's also not a whole lot of him to see in the comic, and most of the catharsis to be had has to be put together in your own mind after reading and understanding the whole picture of Homestuck. And not many new fans have actually read the comic. Still, the fact that he got the chance to apologise to Nepeta (onscreen that is), and also to become a genuine hero, and then ollied the fuck out of the comic with Nepeta, so they were spared from the bullshit that is HS2 and the Epilogues... I think that constitutes as a win.
Equius also has an interest in art, as we see by picture of hoofbeasts he has on his wall. It's not even that much for sexual reasons, he just appreciates the style and appearance of how the horses are drawn like that. People took it too literal of him horse fucking and that's how we got Horuss. At least one Paradox Space comic had explored this side by kidnapping Karkat and Terezi and forcing them to go to a museum with him. But can you call it a win if a Nepeta was seen being sucked into the black hole as seen in the Credits? That a ghost Equius will have to live on with the pain that he couldn't save her. And he would never know that it was Terezi who took that photo and she had let her get killed through that. Some friend Terezi is. If he found out Terezi did that, she would be teal chunks with just a flick of his finger.
But yeah, it sucks he gets overlooked by the fandom. Fitting as a void player.

Haiiiii can you analyze Maid of Void??
the maid 0f v0id is actually 0ne 0f my fav classpects! 0ther than my 0wn classpect 0fc 8P
maids create their aspect/create through their aspect. as we see with in cannon examples of maids, aradia (the maid of time) after going god-tier stops bec noir before he gets the chance to kill her, aradia MADE time to stop him (but only temporarily). jane (the maid of life) is shown bringing dirk back after he dies. while porrim didnt reach god-tier, we can assume she made space or at least things related to it. void is about nothingness, secrets and a lack of presence.
so with this in mind; a maid of void creates void/creates through void.
i personally think maids of void are a bit more likely to be derse dreamers than prospit dreamers. (eg: aradia, roxy, equius and horuss being derse dreamers), but its a 60/40 chance tbh
maids of void are (metaphorically) made out of their aspect, kinda like saying someones "made of money". they're not actually made of money but they have so much of it they might as well be made of it.

could you do a general analysis of a prince of void, since we are discussing void? its one of the aspects im most interested in, but i dont see a lot of people discuss it.
sure! void is a very cool aspect and i am totally not biased at all >:3
as we know, princes are destroyer classes. similar to knights, they weaponize their aspect very effectively, but where knights wield their aspect in order to fulfill their duty, princes are more suited to attacking, dealing damage, and generally destroying, with all of these things being both literal and metaphorical.
i feel like they tend to be loners, but at the same time they desire connection and belonging - or if that's not your jam, they could have some other conflicting sort of nature relating to their aspect. either way, they're very contradictory, and will usually be self-sabotaging as a result. this internal conflict will ultimately be their downfall if they can't overcome it, their aspect very ironically destroying them in return.
for a prince of void, i think "lone wolf who craves connection" is actually really well-suited to the title. void players in particular often heavily repress things - roxy with her feelings (romantic and otherwise), equius with his overall weirdness, horuss with his negativity as per meulin's suggestion. however, this repression is never fully effective, and these things slip through and cause various neuroses; unconscious attempts at coping, atypical behavior and unintentional revealing of the very thing they're trying to hide. in other words, they try so hard not to think about or address certain things that they actually bring those things into focus.
it's like a black hole, kind of. you can't actually see it, but you can see the effect it has on the things around it. a void player repressing something probably talks around it in conversation, thus bringing attention to it via the obviousness of its absence. it's a very interesting intersection of light and void, where they can both have the same qualities and effects, but go about it in different ways.
void players will sometimes cling to the familiar - tradition, nostalgia, social norms, things that are tried and tested - in an attempt to find belonging, security, or any manner of thing they long for. in a world of uncertainty, these things can bring comfort. unfortunately, they can also do harm - see equius' hemoloyalty for a... D-> STRONG example.
with a prince of void, i'd expect void's themes of isolation to play a big part. to me, this could be a person who feels deeply alone or insignificant, and tries to compensate for this by being aggressively sociable, though they might not quite understand how to do that in ways that are acceptable. we see this kind of behavior in roxy, who is similarly lonely and desperate for interaction and affection.
a prince's problems, though, might not be so direct - it may be that the prince of void doesn't even realize just how isolated they really are, or maybe they just don't see how much of an effect it's having on them. this seems like a prince trait to me: their aspect has a ton of influence on their life, but that just means they're so used to it that they might not think their situation is that atypical until it's pointed out or they're otherwise forced to come to terms with it. that can probably apply to a lot of the homestuck characters, but with princes being destroyers, i think it's fitting for them to have to first figure out what it even is that they need to destroy.
regardless, i can see them being clingy and overly people-pleasing. this could be attempting to destroy Void As In Lack/Absence, or destroying themselves With void - self-minimizing and denying their own desires so that people will like them, kind of like horuss. the thing with horuss is he believed himself to be "everything and nothing" (a blank Page, so to speak), and so he let everyone else decide who he would be.
a prince of void could be similar, but less in a "letting people tell them who to be" way and more in a "trying to be everything for everyone" way. they might switch up their behavior and persona depending on what the person they're talking to responds the most positively to, entirely ignoring their own wants and suppressing their inherent traits. of course, if this sounds too much like a prince of heart to you, there are other ways it could go! (though i think this would be a very good direction to take for prince of void who was raised by or otherwise greatly influenced by a heart player.)
a prince of void could destroy void-as-mystery, making them the kind of person who aggresively uncovers the truth. they may refuse to tolerate lies, or even try to force people to be upfront and honest even if they're not comfortable doing so. or they might just bring clarity to situations, making any uncertain elements or variables into definite ones - think of a super observant detective with incredible deductive abilities, filling in the gaps in their knowledge by determining what most likely happened at a crime scene. i could see this prince playing that sort of role, and combining it with the truth-seeking idea, maybe they're really good at interrogation, using a combination of social deduction and intimidation to get someone to confess.
in that case, their struggle could be similar to something i mentioned in the seer post. the prince might be this cool, skilled and intimidating detective, but they might be an overthinker, even kind of paranoid. they think everyone is lying or hiding something, when in reality, the thing they're missing is that there's really, genuinely Nothing there. they're so caught up in Mystery and Secrets and Hidden Things that they don't even notice the complete Lack of an actual problem, the Absence of guilt. perhaps their whole investigation was false from the start, either as an intentional distraction orchestrated by some enemy or just turning out to be a paranoia-fueled overreaction that the prince was totally convinced was legit.
on the other hand, a prince focused on nonexistence/potential might be the type who builds or creates things to try and fill a void in their soul, or something like that. or maybe they feel their existence has no meaning, so they desperately reach for any shred of importance or relevance they can find. they might destroy things just to try and make an impact on the world, lashing out because they want to make a difference, they don't want to be forgotten. you can combine those concepts too: a prince of void who's an artist of some sort, but they're underappreciated and feel their work is worthless, so they decide there's more value in destroying things than in creating them. if they can't go down in history for their art, then they'll just have to be immortalized as a villain. vandalism could be a good option for that, especially since things like grafitti, while destructive to property, are still an act of creative self-expression.
honestly, though, there's so many ways to do this i feel like i could go on forever. do tumblr posts have a character limit?? i dunno, but i bet i'll find out one day. :p
i mean, hey, maybe the prince of void is just a full-on brawler who beats the shit out of people empty-handed. or maybe they use deception and secrets to destroy, breaking down group cohesion from the inside by spreading lies and blackmailing people. and they could always be a ninja! ninja is always a valid approach. :3
powerways: roxylike summoning of items via destroying their nonexistence, or complete obliteration of items via destroying through void, effectively vaporizing them by dispersing matter (creating empty space). maybe even deleting things from the timeline entirely, making them retroactively nonexistent, like they were never there in the first place. scientifically inaccurate but really cool looking black hole attacks. they could have the ability to erase things, but only when no one else can see them? like, they have to be the only observer.
and that reminds me of schrodinger's cat... if void is potential, maybe they can even do some really weird quantum physics stuff that i don't super understand and force certain outcomes so long as they haven't been confirmed or decided yet, by destroying the potential alternatives? destroying uncertainty, like making it so a coin will land on heads by destroying the possibility that it will land on tails mid-flip. i'm not a sciencer or anything, and that's kinda out there, but it sounds like a fun idea to explore!
i hope this is interesting! i think i may have focused more on the void part than the prince part... sorry if it's not what you were looking for. princes aren't my strong suit, i always have a lot of ideas for them but i struggle putting them into words for some reason. -u-

oh my god when you split the aspects into threes the symbols and themes start adding up ive totally cracked the code
CHAOS/REALITY: (space, mind, void) symbols are circular (true for all reality aspects) with squiggly edges; players (calliope, jade, roxy, kanaya, terezi, equius, porrim, latula, horuss) have themes of lonliness but also being yourself unequivocably. you dont like to follow the rules, and you dont fit in with people very well either, but you have a lot of power behind you. (if I were to put these on a circle, id put void close to the axis between reality and people, so I think void players struggle with this less)
ORDER/REALITY: (time, doom, light) symbols are circular with more angular, defined edges; players (caliborn, rose, dave, aradia, sollux, vriska, damara, mituna, aranea) have themes of hiding your true selves, playing a part to fit in and drastically changing to reveal your 'true self.' youre able to go through the motions of interacting with people, but your true abilities come through when you start to ignore that
CHAOS/PEOPLE: (blood, heart, rage) symbols are all clear iconography (literal blood, symbolic heart, angry face); players (dirk, karkat, nepeta, gamzee, kankri, meulin, kurloz) have a huge impact on people and relationships despite feeling like they dont quite fit in. they have a hard time following the rules for society, but they have a great deal of power among people even if they dont realize
ORDER/PEOPLE: (breath, life, hope) symbols all got that wispy ethereal stuff going on, but still pretty reminiscient of clear iconagraphy (wind, plants, angel wings); players (john, jane, jake, tavros, eridan, feferi, rufioh, cronus, meenah) all have themes of dealing with expectations and choosing between complacency and rebellion. they all absolutely could fit in with anyone they wanted, and are very capable of blending in and playing the role theyre supposed to play, but it doesnt quite sit right with them. they are in positions of great power among people as a default

Homestuck aspect :
Void
The void is imo the most interesting aspect with only three Canonical characters having it that being
Equius Zahhak
Roxy Lalonde
Horuss Zahha
The description for void is “Those bound to the aspect of Void are the universe's secret-keepers. The unknown doesn't scare them-where others might see emptiness, they see potential. A blank page, an empty canvas, that's what the Void-bound live for. They value mystery and the unexplained, and are not particularly bothered by not having all the answers. Where others might be compelled to go out and seek answers, the Void-bound lean more toward casting doubt on what is already considered fully understood. They don't take much on faith and would rather live in a state of confusion than believe something that might be untrue or bow to intellectual authority. After all, in order for something new to be built, the old, rotting foundation must often be razed. At their best, Void-bound are wise, intuitive, and vibrant. At their worst they can be dismissive, indecisive, and apathetic.” Something that really interested me is that void players surround themselves in a void a way to hide thar tue selfs away most obviously is Roxy and her drinking for Horace it is “happiness” for Equius it is the hemoSpectrum something interesting that I find is that nepeat Is the only one who can see through Equius is void she sees that he’s actually kind And I wonder how the story would be different if you weren’t to take down his Void like Roxy did something else I wonder if that is if Equius Is been the reason that Dr. scratch could not see everything thes are jus some things I noticed

Howdy, I'm CorvineArcher, and this is my essay on why Equius is actually a great character, no matter what someone else thinks. Because hussie plays favorites like a MADMAN. (Sorry about the formatting, tumblr is weird as shit idk how to fix it.)
So starting off, I'm pissed: Okay I understand that all of the trolls we're just insulting real zodiacs, but some of them TRULY piss me off. He plays favorites like a madman, seeing as Vriska was more of a main character than John somehow, and nobody other than a small handful like Equius, Tavros, and Feferi. (Feferi is fair, I'll make an essay on her later.) anyway, these are just my observations from my first and currently only read of homestuck, an I'm gonna be honest, I DID NOT PAY ATTENTION lmao. I only just now found out that the Executioner, (Ancestor of my favorite troll line) HAS A NAME AND IT'S EXECUTER DARKLEER. DARKLEER. THAT'S FUCKING SICK.
Anyway, a big reason why people don't like Equius, is because Hussie doesn't: (If I'm spelling his name wrong, then he deserves it.) anyway, he seems to hate him. When he was first going to get his introduction, HE SKIPPED HIM. Because he made him a fucking weirdo because obviously, making fun of the symbol of Sagittarius is absolutely hilarious. So he made him super weird and obsessed with centaurs and kinky as shit and awkward because, HE DOESN'T LIKE HIM. Which is lame. Same thing with Horuss, too. And also he get like no screentime lmao. Then again his aspect IS void, but still, he could've gotten to do a lot more. And when he DID do super fucking useful shit WHICH HE DID ALRIGHT? He got almost nothing after it. But the second Vriska breathes she's on for eighty more pages. (Still love her tho) anyway, he definitely plays favorites and it sucks because OUR favorites get the fucking gutter.
Next part, which is me being an extreme Zahhak Apologist: Listen, of course equius is going to be obsessed with the hemospectrum because he is pure blue blood. Second in line for land dwellers (on the hemospectrum). Now it's not just him, gamzee went crazy with knowing he's above everyone and MURDERED people over it. The only reason he's chill is because he was high off bed slime, then chilled out by Karkat. And VRISKA, who is also a blue blood, third in line, is obsessed with her ancestor, and killed people as well to reach her goal as strongest. None of the others really did this (to my memory) so obviously equius is going to struggle with the hemospectrum, it literally in his blue ass blood. And, add on the whole thing about his hormones (will get into it in a sec) and also being a fucking teenager, he's confusing the hemospectrum and his emotions. He goes crazy for it in a completely different way due to all of his incredibly heightened hormones. So he is a weirdo, and kind of a freak, but he really can't help it. He has a mix of shit that should not be mixed and he has to just learn to deal with it and act normal and like it's fine. And he suffers as a social outcast because he can't socialize. He confuses everything to a point of not even being able to have more than one friend. And nepeta, I love her. Because she admits he's weird, but still sees that he's a person who's fucking going through it and they are THE best morails, and are the representation of morails universally known in the fandom. And she wasn't his friend out of pity because she DIED for him. So that just proves how good of a person he is apart from being joked on and casted out.
And now, here's why I think the Zahhak family is absolutely fucking bangarang: For starters, I mean cmon, I KNOW the hemospectrum is wrong and terrible BUT THEY'RE HIGH UP LIKE, SECOND DIRECTLY BELOW THE GRAND HIGHBLOOD. THAT'S KOOL AS SHIT. and their blood color is fucking rad, not to mention their individual color pallets, which I will make soon. Anyway, they're all about archery and horses, which make them already sound like knights which is also kool as shit. And they've got their important thing with strength. Which surpasses everyone else's. And and AND THEY'RE FUCKING CREATORS. THEY MAKE SHIT. THEY PROBABLY BEND HUGE PIECES OF METAL WITH JUST THEIR TWO HANDS AND CALL IT A NORMAL TUESDAY. I'm sure what they all create varies on the timeline. Horuss with robots, and Equius with robots too, but I think that if Darkleer got to make things, it would probably be armor and kool ass weapons. I mean LOOK AT HIS FUCKING ARMOR GOTTDAMN. And his fucking bow CMON. IMAGINE EQUIUS WITH THAT. anyway, I just think they're neat as shit. And I wish we could've had mor content on them. Especially Equius because he doesn't seem to get much, like ever. Even for aspect plot it's still aggravating. Either way either way, he's still my favorite, and I'm not gonna stop making cringe content on the Zahhak line.
(Also their last name is kool as shit I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE)

A new analysis blog, cool! Could I get an analysis for a Seer of Void? I wish you tons of luck!
Of course, dear! Apologies for the wait.
I. Component Compartmentalisation
Class: Seer.
Passive knowledge class.
One who sees and understands their aspect, using their knowledge to advise others.
Rose Lalonde; of Light. Terezi Pyrope; of Mind. Kankri Vantas; of Blood.
Aspect: Void.
Metaphorically; ignorance, ambiguity, arcana, mystery, misfortune.
Literally; darkness, blindness, nothingness, nullity.
Roxy Lalonde; a Rogue thereof. Equius Zahhak; an Heir thereof. Horuss Zahhak; a Page thereof.
Canon Doubles: N/A O/D/S: Support
II. Classpect Abilities
The Seer of Void, as I would imagine them to be, would have the ability to know everything about nothing. Despite how underwhelming it may sound, the reality of it is that they would be aware of everything that is unknown to the team. Weak points of an enemy, a hidden treasure chest, and secret perfect next course of action — these are all concepts and pieces of information the Seer would know. The Seer of Void’s talent at knowing when a person is lying is already a crystal-clear preconceived notion — not to mention their recognition of secrets hidden from them by others. This would make them extremely hard to manipulate, certainly an unmalleable individual. If having fully achieved their full potential, this classpect would be akin to an omniscient deity, though not as extreme. Due to the Void aspect having an intrinsic relation to the Horrorterrors, the Seer would, quite possibly, be the only person to know about their true intentions. They would also know about their location, and perhaps their backstory and history. This would certainly be more of a curse than a blessing for the Seer, as all Seers are accursed by some aspect of their abilities. What the Horrorterrors’ true intentions may be is left up for your own interpretation; it could be exceedingly revolting of a motive, or as heavenly and virtuous as a motive could possibly be. Another minor ability they would possibly have, is that they would be able to tell if someone is blind or not. This could be used as a plot device, of course. On the topic of blindness, I would theorise that the Seer of Void would never be able to go blind, no matter what. Blindfolds, non-existent eyes, fog, clouds, physical barriers, cecity, or even being in the dark — they will always be able to see through the void and darkness. This sounds all very similar to the abilities of a Seer of Light; however, as one could theorise, the difference betwixt the two may lie in the knowledge they procure — more specifically, its kind. The Light-bound version of the class could have the capability to obtain knowledge that is humanly achievable, whereas the Void-bound would know information impossible to obtain by any means whatsoever. For example, a Seer of Void would know the Horrorterrors’ true intentions, and be able to explain virtually impossible concepts, but one of Light would not. Alternatively, a Seer of Light would be able to explain complex and plausible philosophical concepts, and acquire information that is logically achievable and understandable; however, one of Void would not. If you would like to look at it from another perspective, the Seer of Void and of Light may have the ability to obtain mutually inclusive information, as it would make it easier for both parties. However, the main difference lies in their specialties. Seers of Light might be more inclined to focus on planning elaborate schemes, ensuring pre-eminent victory for their team; whereas, Seers of Void may be more inclined to read between the lines, seemingly straying away from the main objective due to their naturally curious mind, just as Rose did prior to fully descending into the fabled blackdeath trance of the woegothics; the difference lies, however, in the Void-bound committing these actions not for themself, but for others, as the former would border on descent into grimdarkness. This is especially supported by the fact that Rose’s inverse is Void-bound. Void and Light, especially in terms of knowledge classes, can be nigh indistinguishable. Additionally, the Seer of Void would also know about everything that has not existed yet. They could use that knowledge to tell the future, since it would not have happened yet. They would know what could cause a doomed timeline, and would gain knowledge from their alternate doomed selves about the things that went wrong, especially those that fell victim to the Horrorterrors’ schemes.
III. Session Role
The Seer of Void is a support class, meaning that they have little to no offense or defense abilities whatsoever, with only their classpect in mind, at least. Their job is to advise the others to stay on the right path to victory, as they would know when they would be straying off to the wrong path. Alternately, the Seer would know when an idea is not a good one, though not being able to conceive one that is good. They would also be able to warn their teammates of any unknown dangers, variables, and threats in their separate journeys, making sure that nothing unexpected causes the plan to go haywire. Generally, their job in the team is to make sure everyone’s safe and doesn’t end up getting themselves harmed or, worse, killed. I would imagine the Seer’s job would also be to lead everyone to utilise the most mysterious path, one that ensures victory, and is free of the variable of luck. This may result in the path to be the most dangerous, and the Seer would need to really convince their teammates, as they would be filled with incertitude. After all, darkness is all but incertitude and ambiguity. Due to their classpect, I would imagine that the Horrorterrors would take an immense interest in them, one who knows their every action, truth, lie, and intention, and one who advises people with their knowledge of the aforementioned. This may lead the Seer of Void to go grimdark very early in the game, right before they achieve godtier, or even right after; possibly, because the Horrorterrors wouldn’t want them to know something critical for the game, or for themselves. They may also have the intention of killing the Seer permanently. On the other hand, the eldritch gods could possibly manipulate the Void-bound Seer, influencing the information they come to know negatively, making the Seer an unreliable support player for the team. They could have full knowledge of this, of course, especially if they have achieved their full potential as godtier. In terms of interpersonal relations, the Seer of Void would not be much of a problematic nuisance. They are very passive, and I would imagine that they would not have any problems with their teammates. The only people they could really have a problem with are the Light-bound, the Witches, and, most likely, a Bard or Prince of Void, as they would destroy the very source of their information, making their role in the session and team to be completely null. Though, I wouldn’t exactly see them as being on bad relations with the Light-bound, as they are very similar in terms of aspect.
IV. Proposed Personality
Pre-Sburb, Seers generally know a hefty amount about their aspect, although not limited to it. For example, Rose had a keen interest in information and knowledge, but was also invested in dark and gothic themes, especially those resembling the Horrorterrors. I could only imagine that a Seer of Void would mainly have an aura filled with melancholy and the such, while also having a knack for academic concepts. The Seer of Void would be a person who gets easily distracted by irrelevancies, unable to focus on main matters. They would struggle heavily with the abundance of knowledge in the world, and they would instead find comfort in ignorance. Before they would begin the game, they would be the walking personification of the proverb “ignorance is bliss.” This could easily be traced to some kind of childhood trauma — perhaps, in their younger years, they came to know something that scarred them to the point in which ignorance was the only thing they could ever find solace. As they play the game, they would begin to understand the unknown, adapting to the knowledge they derive from it, most likely leading them to the Horrorterrors, especially if they’re a Derse dreamer. Nevertheless, they would share this newly-obtained knowledge with their teammates, advising them, and leading them to the most successful outcome, in the sense that they would tell them what not to do, not what they should. This would prove to be very difficult, especially considering that they’re an easy prey for the Horrorterrors. Additionally, they would also start to be more secretive, most probably because they don’t want to let their findings torment their friends as well, thus leading them to stray away from their teammates socially and emotionally, they would only pop back in to tell them everything they’re doing wrong, and about how they shouldn’t be doing it. Reaching the final stages of understanding their classpect, they would be an expert at reading body language. They’d also be able to tell if one is lying or hiding some sort of secret; the Seer of Void is certainly someone one cannot fool. As much as this might be a stretch, the Seer would also be able to detect any sort of manipulative tactics, making it near-impossible to get anything suspicious through them. The only major conflict I can really see arising from these abilities is that they could use the information obtained from learning about the aforementioned secrets, to settle things on their own. For example, if the secret is that their friends are going to throw someone a birthday party, the Seer would have to resist the urge to tell the birthday child about the surprise party, thus ruining the surprise.
V. Godtier Necessity
Godtiering would, probably, be very necessary to ensure the Seer of Void’s survival. Depending on what the Horrorterrors think of them, they could very well die at their hands. Their journey to ascension would be exceptionally difficult — they would have to strategise for everyone, as well as strategise for themself, while also trying to avoid the Horrorterrors’ detection and manipulation. As a precaution, they would need someone to be close to, one that can protect them, preferably a Sylph or Knight. They would need to ensure the Seer’s safety; mentally — as it’s at constant danger because of the Horrorterrors’ manipulation — and physically.
VI. Lunar Sway Differences
Contrary to popular belief, one’s lunar sway heavily influences how they function and adapt to their classpect. The majority of Derse dreamers adapt to their classpect very easily, especially those that are humans, and their assigned classpects represent what they already are. However, the majority of Prospit dreamers do not adapt to their classpect head on, as they need a hefty amount of time to become their classpect, as their assigned classpects represent what they wish to be, their role model, per se. A Prospit Seer of Void would be someone who is very fascinated by the unknown, the kind of person who would gasp at a new piece of information, completely mesmerised by it. They would also be interested in dark and gothic themes, although unable to achieve an aura and aesthetic that encompasses those themes, at least not publicly, possibly because they live in an environment surrounded by light and pastel palettes — much like their dream planet — or one that is oppressive to dark aesthetics. This would cause them to have somewhat of a pessimistic demeanor. They would be very secretive of their admiration towards those themes, and they wouldn’t open up to people about it so easily. The Seer would probably have hidden some books about the Lovecraftian and those that dwell in the shadow if they ever managed to obtain it. These are all but basic examples, there is always room for imagination. On the other hand, a Derse Seer of Void would be the complete opposite of one that is a Prospit dreamer. Their life would be surrounded by darkness and ambiguity. They could see parades and protests happening outside their windows and pay no mind to it — fitting into their embodiment of the proverb; “ignorance in bliss.” More often than not, their friends would view them as a gloomy person, incessantly followed by cryptic shadows of ineradicable and deep-rooted melancholy. They would most likely lead them to be intimidating, imprinting this feeling of discomfort and unease to whoever dares to speak to them. En plus, the Seer’s dream planet being that of Derse, the moon closest to the Horrorterrors, and the Seer being that of Void, it certainly wouldn’t lead others to believe that the Seer is a good person, or one with clear morals.
VII. Planet & Quest
The keywords most suitable for a Seer of Void would be those relating to the absence of a concept; for example, the absence of sound would be silence, the absence of knowledge would be ignorance, et cetera. Off the top of my head, I can list off a few; abnormality, absence, anxiety, calmness, cancellation, death, discharge, doom, dread, error, hollowness, horror, laconism, limb, muteness, nullity, silence, supernaturality, tentacle, terror, tranquility, and vacuum. The planet would be covered in darkness, as one would expect from a Void-bound planet. Perhaps, tentacle-themed creatures would roam the lands, and, despite their appearance, they wouldn’t be much of a hostile threat. The reason for such darkness could be that the candle-lanterns that used to illuminate the planet went off sometime pre-Medium-entry. The aforementioned lanterns can only be lit up again by a specific fire that only the planet’s denizen has. The Seer would then have to ask them how to fix it, and, in doing so, they would carry out their quest. The quest could be that of traversing a tenebrous maze, blindfolded, to reach the specific fire source. The player would then have to use a sense other than sight, maybe instincts, to achieve full balance of their abilities. They would also have to come to the conclusion that Light and Void aspects are mutually inclusive and codependent, though not to the point of leading the Seer to their inversion. They would have to understand that there is no Light without Void, and that there is no Void without Light.
VIII. Kind Abstrata
Void-bound players generally are fistkind, plus wield a ranged weapon. Options I can really see for a Seer of Void include but are not really limited to; mirrorkind, glasskind, pistolkind, spearkind, arrowkind, swissarrowkind, crossbowkind, and revolverkind.

Combat Character Stat Builds
Oh my this is a lot, so I am Readmore-ing it. X3
I’ll just be talking about archetypal character builds and classes in terms of purely RPG combat builds rather than story or meta-affecting capabilities for simplicity’s sake.
Oooh, I think Dirk is a Lightning Bruiser as well. He has the same skillset as Bro had with flashstepping and being able to slice enemies rather easily. Collide never featured any of the Striderstep (idk why), but I guess they did it offscreen? He also got wrecked more times than Dave and Terezi did in Collide. Idk why either, maybe because Dave is directly sabotaged/taught by Bro Strider himself while Terezi went through more combat using misdirection than him in general? Dirk is very much an action man who, if he has a list of RPG stats, would be pretty high on at least almost everything with a focus on offense/ATK.
What differentiates Lightning Bruiser from Jack-of-All-Stats is that a Lightning Bruiser is absurdly great at anything, often trading it off with certain drawbacks (e.g. high cost, difficult-to-execute maneuvers, etc.) to keep them from being too overwhelming.
LE would count as one too, but he’s that one dirty hacker ruining everything online. The Peixes, Zahhaks, and Dave may also count. To separate them, Feferi and the Zahhaks are more straightforward unless you count their risen doomed versions. Although, the clear line between Equius and Horuss is that the former is a Close-Range Combatant because he keeps breaking his bow unless he’s equipped with the same strength-limiting device Horrus wears, making him a Monk with his Fistkind default. Horrus would be a Master-of-All player but doesn’t feel very fulfilled about it. Meenah being an archetypal Thief shows through her stealing and being very fast. What prevents her from being a typical Fragile Speedster-kind of thief is that she’s very physically sturdy with high endurance to the point that she’s able to daydream about her alternate self with no bother while being beaten over and over. She also has high strength as a fuchsia blood much like Feferi is able to leap dozens of feet off the water. If Dirk is more Ninja-esque, Dave is, in Final Fantasy terms, a straightforward Fighter. He’s offensively-oriented and has a good amount of stamina to last long. Being a Knight in RPGs in general also comes with support abilities (e.g. being able to shield allies, give buffs, etc.).
Psychics/psionics like the Megidos & Captors would be Long-Range Fighters. They mainly use their psychic abilities to reach and lift something from afar to compensate for having less physical prowess (unless you’re Indigo-blooded Roboradia) and psionics for the Captors to incinerate. They’re the equivalents of Black Mages if you go for Final Fantasy terms. Offensive Magicians, if you’re unfamiliar. With their different Sgrub titles and special abilities though, it’s best to differentiate them more as different types of “Mages” in RPGs as a whole. Psychics are also a class of their own in certain games.
Jane is a Combat Medic because her main role is healing and reviving while having the Egbert/Crocker strength to lift a fridge and stab people with her fork. She’s the White Mage of the party that has some offensive skills.
Tavros and Jake have Magicarp Power- very slow buildup, but great potential is a tradeoff in being Pages. The Nitrams in general can be Puppet Fighters in a “control fauna into fighting for you” way- Summoners or Beastmasters in RPG-speak (hence The Summoner title).
Roxy also is the RPG archetype of a Thief, albeit a passive version. She’s a Stealth Expert, being sneakier and having an easier time staying undetected through the void. Similarly to Meenah, Roxy also doesn’t have the fragility archetypal thieves have in that she has high strength- being able to leap several meters fast enough to snatch Rose away, uses Fistkind like Equius, and if her Beta version is anything to go by, being able to knock out giants with one punch. She also has a Ninja theme going on with all the slinky escapes with a dash of Monk in terms of martial prowess.
Rose is a support-type of Mage. She’s the Scholar. Or a Wizard. As the name suggests, scholars are studious and rely heavily on processed information to analyze opponents and buff allies. They are usually the ones who are fond of lore and through that, they are often equipped with the ability to supernaturally foresee what an enemy’s next move would be, their strengths, and their weaknesses..
Terezi fits the category too, but while Rose is more magical with light beams and stabs every now and then, the former fights more physically. Terezi is more of a Jack-of-all-Stats as a Scholar. She doesn’t possess any fighting prowess that exceeds outstandingly compared to her teammates, but she’s balanced. She is neither particularly swift nor very STRONG, but Terezi carried on being tossed, suplexed, stabbed, and survived through a few apocalypses.
Gamzee is the Joke Character that’s pretty ineffective in most cases but with ridiculously high stats that can turn him into a Lethal Joke Character. The Bard is often the butt of jokes in RPGs ever since DnD, usually performing to buff allies and weaken enemies.
*I could go on with other characters, but I’m doing other things.
I. Honestly don’t have much to add, this is really nice analysis on itself! I agree with a majority of it but, yeah you went deep there. X3

ClowncAR! have you been asked about your Gamzee Megido timeline yet? Cause 👀
i haven't! lets seeee,,, whats some cool stuff i can clue ya in on?
oh! uh, for one, me and mod jubejube share this timeline through mutual connection to Eridan Serket (prince of light, catalystAlexandria, merlion lusus, had king arthur aesthetic vibes) via him being my moirail and being jubejube's descendent (she's Cronus Serket)
as for meee.... i was a bard of time! uhhh i liked painting, tho i dont think i was exactly good at or nothin haha.
lets see.... oh! here's somethin actually interesting, i'm pretty sure i was basically haunted by Kurloz for most of the timeline. or maybe it was my ancestor (The Funerary) sendin me in the right direction beforehand
lets see... ive already mentioned me and Loz were Bard & Prince of Time. and Eri & Cro were the Prince & Bard of Light.... buuuuut....as for other swaps in the timeline.... John Jojo Harley (Witch of Breath), Dave Lalonde (Seer of Time, possibly involved with Eridan in some other quadrant. or maybe they were just broskis), Jade Strider (Knight of Space), Rose Egbert (Heir of Light), Jane English (Maid of Hope), Dirk Lalonde (Prince of Void), Jake Strider (Page of Heart), Roxy Crocker (Rogue of Life), Aradia & Damara Makara (Maid & Witch of Rage), Tavros & Rufioh Maryam (Page & Rogue of Space), Sollux & Mituna Pyrope (Mage & Heir of Mind), Karkat & Kankri Peixes (Knight & Seer of Life), Nepeta & Meulin Zahhak (Rogue & Mage of Void), Kanaya & Porrim Nitram (Sylph & Maid of Breath), Terezi & Latula Vantas (Seer & Knight of Blood), Vriska & Aranea Captor (Thief & Sylph of Doom), Equius & Horuss Ampora (Heir & Page of Hope), Feferi & Meenah Leijon (Witch & Thief of Heart)
not sure of anythin about the cherubs tho.... i think they were still around and me and 'Loz had somethin to do with em... probably with Ara and Damz. after all, Loz and Damz were in some type-a red quad. at least i know our ancestors had somethin goin on and were usually linked in terms of "legend" for lack of a better term. i think while The Funerary and The Great Mortician were probably matesprits (or at least, rumored to be), their pre-scratch selves (that is, Kurloz & Damara) were running a bit paler. don't quote me tho. the time-space axis is where i'm strongest for this timeline, not heart or blood hehehe
i'm equally stuck on the vagueness of my lusus. i doubt he was around much, tho im not sure if he was just an absent custody or if he was motherfuckin dead hahahahahaha
either way i think he had some sorta reptile or amphibian vibe to him, maybe a frog or crocodile? but it's more complicated than so i'd place my bets with some sorta hybrid thing, like a chimera in some way. even if that means it was just a literal horned toad. id make some shit pun combo-ing baphomet and frogs/toads but i cant think of one thats actually obvious enough to be funny. (bufomet is the closest ive got so s/o to anyone who picks that one up hahahahahahaha)
hmmm.... need to think a bit more on this one tbh hehehehe :o)

Classspect Stuff: Failure States
Hey-ho! Two explainy posts in one day! Aren’t I a saint :3
As we all know, Aspects hold both positive and negative connotations, and classes are no different. They have what i like to call “Failure States”, or a state of being in which the person/class is at their absolute lowest, and usually when they do their big pivotal bad moments.
Let’s start with Heirs. An Heirs failure state is completely becoming their aspect. Not just in the sense of being an Heir, but they more become symbols of their aspect or tools of it rather than people. Equius’ own blood was used to hide information (becoming Void, ie mystery), and Mituna made a huge sacrifice that severely altered his state of mind (he became Doomed, through sacrifice). John seems to be exempt from doing this frequently, though it’s likely because he has more prominence and seeing him fail a bunch would be disheartening.
Now the active counterpart, Witches. Witches are similar to Heirs in that their failure state involves being used as a tool, though because Witches are more active and break the rules of their aspect, this has more volatile effects on others. Heirs affect things passively when they fail, often having to do with them. Witches seem to have a greater impact on the world around them, with it having little to do with themselves. Jade, under Grimbark mode, used Space to basically send people wherever the Condesce wanted. Damara used her Time abilities to do whatever Lord English wanted, and... well Feferi didn’t really have a failure state. I guess serving her lusus kind of counts under Life?
A Seer’s failure state is when they... see too much, possibly. Seers undergo terrible transformations (Rose and Grimdark), terrible thoughts and feelings (Terezi testing timelines out on Dave, one of which he dies in and she is distraught), and Kankri (never shuts up). Their failure state seems to be less intense, given Terezi and Kankri, however this has devestating effects on the person who is likely the team’s strategizer. No one wants to listen to Kankri as he is too far in his failure state and wont stop talking, and Terezi is often crippled by her thoughts (too much Mind) to the point that she has depressive episodes. A Seer’s failure state also tends to push people away from them, hurting them even more.
A Mage’s failure state is completely giving up. Mages are the most likely to suffer from their aspect, and their job is to use their knowledge to help others and defend from it. However, failing to do so and giving up entirely enacts the Mage’s failure state. Sollux, being incredibly nihilistic and not doing much to prevent dying twice, and Meulin.... actually doesn’t seem to be in a failure state like most dancestors are. She’s still very optimistic about romance and Heart! Good for her :3
A Thief’s failure state is them taking so much of their aspect, there’s absolutely none left to take. Obviously seen in Meenah when she takes everyone’s lives, but also seen in Vriska when she manipulates things into being in her favor, but ONLY in HER favor. Of course, this makes the Thief an extremely controversial or even downright disliked person. This can lead to the Thief essentially “paying” for their crime, fitting of real thieves. Meenah dies as well, and Vriska is killed when she has her showdown with Terezi in a battle of luck.
A Rogue’s failure state is giving away their aspect too much. Think the Robin Hood archetype but to the extreme. Rufioh constantly gives his freedom away to his romantic entanglements (Damara takes it from him and Horuss just flat out denies it from him), Nepeta, while a caring soul, never leaves any Heart for herself. She even hides AWAY any shipping things related to herself. Roxy’s aspect is Void, and so she can’t really GIVE anything away, but rather is perpetually empty. She literally doesn’t HAVE anything to give, until she learns to create.
Post is getting long so I’ll post the Maid/Sylph, Prince/Bard, and Page/Knight failing states in another post.

Love, ideal and material
I was thinking about love and the way both the Light and Heart aspects deal with it but in fairly different ways. And, being who I am, I instantly decided to cram it into my absurdly convoluted system of sub-Aspect particles and say it's all about Aspect Mirroring.
When Rose falls in love, it is redemptive. It is holy. Taz has written entire essays on why Rosemary represents the forgiveness of the sinful caprice of the universe and a greater acceptance of one's place in the world, and we see echoes of this with Vriska's complicated relationship with Terezi and Aranea's strained and ultimately failed relationship with Meenah. A common challenge to this redemption, though, is fear. Rose's relationship with Kanaya is strained by alcoholism because accepting the world for what it is means accepting her mother's alcoholism for what it is, which is terrifying, and ironically leads Rose into that very same alcoholism herself. Vriska, meanwhile, all but intentionally blinds herself to her love for Terezi, chasing instead the impossible dream, binding herself to ambition, to grandeur, seeking through action to redeem herself and not the world. And Aranea? Poor, long-suffering Aranea, for whom the redemption of the world comes in the form of the capricious, destructive, self-loathing Meenah? She decides that love just isn't worth it, and instead chooses to go out with a bang, enacting a spectacular, ambitious plan that ultimately seeks to deny reality rather than redeem it.
For the Heartbound, on the other hand, it's much more complicated than that. Dirk's love is a frightening, tempestuous thing, explicitly compared both by Hal and the comic's own symbolism to earth-shattering volcanic eruptions and the biblical flood. Again by Taz, love is not that by which Dirk seeks to redeem the world, but that by which he seeks to redeem himself, to be Jake's Knight in shining armor rather than the dreadful thing which Dirk sees in himself when he is alone with his own thoughts. And it doesn't really work, does it? Grand plots and endless attempts to connect through words and deeds run headfirst into the fact that these kids aren't alright and that closeness with another human being can be just as much pain as it can be pleasure. And that's not even to speak of Hal, for whom love is barely a holy thing at all, but a shackle, a desire forced upon him at birth which he is neither capable of denying nor of realizing. After all, who wants to date a pair of shades?
It's harder to say much about love with the Leijons. Nepeta's love for Karkat can be realized only post-mortem and brings her pain as much as it brings her joy, and her love for Equius ennobles them both but also leads her to her death, but Rogues also have complicated themes revolving around love which makes it harder to tell what's what. Meulin is a bit easier, I guess. Her love for Kurloz is an unambiguous negative, pulling her ever deeper into the dreadful clutches of the subjugglator cult and the worship of Lord English. Her love for Horuss is similarly fucked up, resulting apparently from Horuss's desire to merely copy the surface of Equius and Nepeta's relationship in the hopes of replicating its essence (Surfaces and surface understandings being one of Void’s themes) and gives us some horrifying insight into Meulin's psyche with her advice to Horuss of suppressing your emotions and desires and merely pretending to be happy at all times, putting a deeply uncomfortable spin on Meulin's own permanently grinning face and constant stream of exuberant gifs.
Meulin is also some sort of love sorcerer, her Magely insights allowing her to see relationships both real and potential and pull them together if it suits her fancy, a decidedly... non-symbolic approach to the concept that doesn't have anything at all to do with "redemption of a sinful universe" or anything like that, pulling love itself down to the level of schoolyard gossip.
So what is my thesis here? I guess it is that love is a complicated thing, both an Idea so powerful it can turn a bond with one other person into a symbolic representation for the whole world in your mind (note that both Light and Heart are Hot Aspects, making this kind of substituting the whole world with a single individual extra symbolic) and a material thing, mere emotion, mere chemical reaction, a chain yanking at your heart and pulling it into the direction of another person whether you want to or not. The stories of Rose, of Vriska, of Aranea explore this from one angle, the stories of Dirk, of Nepeta, of Meulin explore it from another.
Or to summarize the summary, Light-aspected romance is extremely chaotic wlws trying to learn to chill with their girlfriends instead of breaking shit all the time. Love as something that pulls them away from their madcap shenanigans. Heart-aspected romance is a more complex and I think ultimately honest look at the messiness of relationships.

How would you describe a Page of Void, or an Heir of Void? I have an oc who is one of those two, and I'm trying to figure out which is closer to who they are. This oc has a basically stable identity, and I've been working on them for more than a year.
I started writing an analysis about all our Void characters before realizing Oh! These are the Zahhak classpects!!! We’ll look at them first.
Horuss, Page of Void, shows some more negative sides of the aspect, with avoidance and escapism that seriously harms his relationships. The best case we have of him really actualizing his aspect is in his Alternian self I think. Darkleer is a cold, rigid follower of the status quo, working as a executioner for the empire. Until sympathy for a grieving widow sparked in him the idea that he could Step Down. That he could Let Go of the harmful structure plaguing his planet and do- or more accurately- Not do one thing that would mean So Much in the long run.
The Zahhaks really portray their Void aspect alot in being low-key characters. While they’re full of personality they don’t quite get to show this much, possibly even purposefully not wanting to. Beforus’ Horuss seems to try to subvert the aspect like said in a fairly unhealthy way. Embracing Void really makes one laid back and relaxed, not caring about mystery or chasing excitement. Sometimes the strongest and best thing you can do is just Let Go. Theres a blatant reversal of this in Roxy, but I think that just goes to show how flexible the true definition of an Aspect can be to each individual. Equius then is a more default example of the aspect. I really like how the fansong Heir of Nothing portrays him. He believes he is nothing and so prays, begs, Desires nothing. And while Equius DEFINITELY CERTAINLY deserves good things, I think the humility provides a healthy balance. He has potential to do terrible things, but he doesn’t want to, he stops himself, and really letting go of the anxieties and social expectations that’s simultaneously forcing him to portray himself more intimidating then he is or wants to be and also telling him he is lesser and undeserving of wanting anything more than their society has decided he gets is how he can really actualize the best version of himself. Those are just examples of how we’ve seen such Classpects play out though, Void more abstractly also shows in casting doubt on pre-existing structures, shown great with the Zahhaks needing to break free from their societies standards and also with Roxy’s thirst for Revolution against the Batterwitch The positive traits of Void are given as Wise, Intuitive, and Vibrant. And the negative being Dismissive, Indecisive and Apathetic. You say your characters are already fleshed out, and I don’t know more about them than classpects, but in this context you could maybe compare and contrast their motives and subversions and how those help or hurt all that they do.
Since your main concern is the Classes- I view Heir as Becoming an Aspect, one who is saturated in it but must go on a journey to truly realize their potential with it. We watch John throughout the whole comic growing into the hero role from smalltown unassuming child. While Page is more Bringing it unto themselves, learning it. Becoming but not already privileged in it and thus lacking. Shown in Horuss almost stubbornly trying to be Too Much, and Tavros in having little to no Freedom that would really make him shine if circumstance would ever allow him the room to work on himself. Jake is who we see the Pages journey through with most, in his quest to become all he truly dreams to be, without being forced down the path anyone else thinks he should take for it.
What I really think is important is that you assure that not only is the characters Ideal Self be someone that either becomes Such n Such through/with Such n Such, but that where they started and they path they take reflects their class. Were they a Heir who was assured their status in some context? Or a Page that had to work for it from the bottom up?
Thanks for Playing with Us! Good luck with your writing endeavors.

page of void?
The Page of Void aids with Void or through Void
Lucky for you, I have done some research on Void lately
Void players are often defined by nothingness, which means they are most influenced by others and their environment. There is nothing their mostly in terms of who they are, which means, as an aspect, that makes them like playdough in terms of personality, which can make them seem like pushovers to others, or even the bottom bitch of the group, as they are often directionless and undefined by themselves.
This is something they must learn to overcome eventually in order to unlock their full potential.
A Page is someone who aids others, and they are often defined by their partnerships, relying upon them for much of everything, from protection to guidance. Its no coincidence that a Page looks like a sidekick such as Robin from Batman.
So a Page of Void is going to have a very hard time in their game if they dont have a good partner.
Equius, an Heir of Void, was defined by his world, oppressive caste society that killed those at every rank almost at random to keep the power structure stable and his relationship with Nepeta, a Rogue of Heart, who was a loving and caring girl that genuinely loved him like a sibling or a husband in a sexless marriage. Which softened his outlook and made him less of a grump.
Were it not for Nepeta, Equius might have been a terrible person instead of just a grumpy weird boy.
Horuss is a Page of Void, and due to his environment, he is a bit of a pleasure seeking pushover, and being in a relationship with Ruffio, a floaty and somewhat romantically unstable Rogue of Breath, he molded himself to be someone that fit Ruffio’s style... which is a vaguely disguised BDSM horse furry... that moves more or less at Ruffios pace, as he has more or less handed over the reins to him.
The other pages, Jake and Tavros, are similarly defined by their trials and tribulations. Growth is difficult, and tedious, sometimes it seems like they make no progress. Plus they are both in the throws of romantic turmoil, having trouble standing on their own two feet and finding something stable.
Pages are defined by their relationships, as they need them to grow, especially good relationship, romantic or otherwise.
Void players are defined in a similar manner, and require similar goals.
A Page of Voids true potential and goals are obfuscated and impeded by their own classpect, resulting in one of the slowest and most difficult growths in the game possible. (Not THE slowest and hardest, but among them.)
Having that good partnership with someone who compliments you is critical, otherwise you might turn out helpless by the end of the game.
But if done right, they can be game changers with their abilities, as Void players can draw power from nothingness itself, and can turn everything upside down and inside out, coming out of nowhere and saving the day or ending it at their leisure.
In gameplay terms, a Page of Void is a wildcard as their classpect means a slow growth, but with huge benefits.
Pages can gain abilities other Classes have, and their aspect of Void makes them naturally stealthy.
I would say they can grow into any role you want, like a Fighter or a DPS or Support style of class, throwing down the pain while bringing the heals. And they are tough to hit and hurt, making them incredible at staying out of trouble, while causing all kinds of it!
Bending, circumventing and redefining the rules is one of their specialties, making them for a wild range of playstyles.
If you want to play the game the way you want to, being a Page of Void is a great choice, as their role is as varied or niche as your relationships are.
If I had to make a comparison to a character or class from another franchise, I would say the general idea of a sidekick evolving into their own class of hero. Robin becoming Nightwing makes for a good example, but he is not the only one I would go with.

back at it again w classpect deepdives!!! i only did one of these before forgetting about it completely but i have some THOUGHTS ABOUT VOID LETS GO WOO!!!
so for starters: i used to never really subscribe to void and light being an inverse pair, key word USED TO. idr why exactly; part of it was i hadnt fully thought out what the other pairs would have to be, part of it was wanting doom to be lights inverse through similar logic that ppl apply to seers and mages being inverses. which, ironically, is also smth i dont consider to be true anymore BUT I DIGRESS. i now think of void and light as true inverses for a couple reasons. most obviously being the light vs dark thing that gets played up in the comic proper, esp w the lalondes. but theres entire dimensions of the two aspects that also have to fit, right? right.
lets look at light for a second. (i promise this is a void post.) the light players we have, rose vriska and aranea, all have classes that take light in its more..... nonliteral sense. its not about LITERAL LIGHT like an heir or a knight or a maid would use, its about LUCK and FATE and...... whatever the fuck is going on w araneas abilities. not really sure how her shit works but i think a large part of it is just..... aranea was able to justify how her power would work, so it does. and i think thats a big part of light as an aspect too; the NARRATIVE. all three light players are biiiig big players who assign importance to the roles they play and make sure everything they do is significant. and its about IMPROBABILITY too; its about the unlikely outcomes that are very lucky for the player that fit the narratives flow and, as such, become the only fated outcome for the hero. for light players, everything is a PERFORMANCE.
so, conversely, we look at void! roxy, equius, horuss..... lets ignore horuss tho bc we just dont know enough about him. (tho isnt that smth in itself, a void player fading into obscurity.... whatever.) theres defo some metaphorical interpretations of void going on in hs proper, but we cant ignore the more literal stuff either!! or.... i guess we can; void comes up a lot as a way to HIDE THINGS. equius's blood is used to block out text in rose's journal, hiding information from seers, both literal and those who do it more as a hobby (callie). roxy causes the cherub's viewports to blackout, and she is able to help callie's ghost hide in the void. equius and darkleer both are able to create dark spots in doc scratch's omniscience, notably hiding the cue ball from him (specifically FOR some light aligned folks!). following along w literal interpretations, theres two more things that jump out at me: one, the repeated references to void as 'nothingness' and two, the fact that the void symbol clearly references the space symbol, as the spaces in between space's spiral. space is pretty generally agreed on as the aspect of stuff, like all matter and distance and concepts in the three traditional dimensions and whatnot; by contrast, void would have to refer to the SPACE IN BETWEEN. kind of confusing terminology but like, on a universal scale, if 'space' refers to planets and stars and people and asteroids and whatnot, 'void' would be like..... the vacuum. the vast majority of the universe where all that 'space' stuff ISNT. coming back to the first point, the NOTHINGNESS. space has strong ties to life, too, or like.... natural evolution? reproduction? the whole frog thing. and in any universe, sustained life is extremely rare, improbable, lucky....... and here we are coming back to light again! now were getting somewhere! which leaves void as a reference to the PROBABLE, and the MUNDANE, because if you pick a random point in the universe to look at theres a 99% chance youre coming up with NOTHING. void :3
bringing this back to more abstract stuff! tho tbh thats kinda hard bc i think void is just..... generally more predisposed to the literal than light is, which would make sense; light wants to tell a good story, void just shows things as they are. but when you have a class like a rogue, that steals the void from shit, you start to turn things on their head a bit. stealing the void moves the balance a bit more towards light, in a way, so you have roxy able to do kind of what aranea and vriska do, in that they come up w a narrative of what they SHOULD be able to do and through that have the ability to do it. notably, roxy didnt come up w the idea herself, and was told she could do it; her natural voidy things were much more literal interpretations of the aspect. but i digress. a rogue of void can steal the nothingness from an idea and make it a real object. if we think of that in more light friendly terms, we have the rogue considering a concept...... an object that is VERY PROBABLY not real, or not here in the present moment or universe or whatever. the odds are astronomically low that roxy would have a matriorb in the alpha timeline, right? it doesnt make sense, that would be fantastical and improbable and would be something out of a narrative; thats a light thing. and thats exactly why roxy can make it happen; she takes that concept of her just HAVING the matriorb, and she removes the improbability from it, the mundane details of how it could possibly exist, and in turn, very luckily is able to create a real matriorb to give to kanaya. and the luck here is critical! kanaya comments many times on how impossible it seems to ensure the return of her race. and the rogue of void thing DOESNT work when condy demands it of her, as if its a given that roxy can do it; instead, it only works when shes under no pressure, but trying to be heroic for someone else, with callie aka the MUSE OF SPACE, a super powerful class that inspires others wrt space stuff, including life in a universal sense..... yeah, w that many narrative signals theres no way light wasnt going to show up w void being rogued away.
anyway. what does this all mean? not too much, just.... some things to consider when classpecting a void player :3 a void player blends into the background, doesnt feel like a hero or a main character, and has little to no association w fate or luck (even bad luck! bad luck is a doom thing, its also improbable. void is more neutral luck, the v probable concept of just being normal). they likely seem like a fairly cookie cutter member of whatever society theyre in (yes, even equius. most of the trolls were not standard trolls; he was the one to give us insight on actual troll culture and norms). theyre down to earth, in a sense, and may feel as though they cant let their true feelings show for the sake of more 'narratively important' characters. little to no association with life or nature, probably more scientifically inclined (tech, not bio). stuff like that
