Tommy ignores the knock at his door. He's in day three pajamas and the only person who might make the effort to check in on him is his exes best friend. Which.
The knocking continues.
It's getting louder.
There's a Kings game on in the background and he's been elbow deep in the Jeep manual he'd finally cracked open in some sort of weird, fucked up pattern of mourning.
Tommy's never gonna buy a fucking Jeep. He hates them. You own one for more than five years and more than half the parts are replacement parts.
He's been staring at a diagram of the timing belt for half an hour, at least. The last thing he remembers about the game is Kuemper letting in three goals on five shots and somehow the Kings are up two, now, and there's still 25 minutes of game time left.
Tommy reaches for the remote. Turns the volume up.
The knocking returns less than a minute later.
---
There's a box of odds and ends tucked under the table in his entryway. He avoids looking at it. He knows there are a few things missing from it and he really doesn't want to examine what he'll have to do to avoid giving it to Eddie tonight. He cut the cords, he shouldn't be lingering watching the frayed edges sway in the wind, clutching his line like there's anything braced on the other side of it.
Evan's oldest, softest LAFD hoodie, the one that's technically too small for both of them but has stretched shockingly evenly and is definitely not sitting unwashed at the bottom of Tommy's laundry basket. The program from a recital of Denny's they'd stopped by to support him for, on their way out of town for a long weekend. Evan's stupid keto bread and the milk frother he'd left behind three months ago and never bothered to grab because he had more than one.
Whoever is at his door is still fucking knocking, and suddenly Tommy doesn't feel like being polite. He'll shove the box in Eddie's arms and tell him to fuck off and close the last few remaining open doors he has to this.
Only when he swings the door wide it's not Eddie on the other side, and the box nearly takes out whatever Evan - Buck, Jesus Christ - has in his own arms.
Not a Tommy box - too small for all the shit that he'd left behind. He misses the house slippers that had had a permanent spot tucked under the left side of the bed.
Tommy flinches, reels away, tries to shove the box away before Buck can see its contents.
"What are you doing here?" Even tone. No quiver in his voice. He's been called rude and dismissive for less.
Buck scowls. Hefts the rectangular dish in his hands and shoves past Tommy before Tommy can blink.
It's silly to say he chases after him, down the hallway towards the kitchen, but he's not exactly following along behind at a casual leisurely pace.
The glass pan slams down on his kitchen counter and Buck spends a minute staring at the calendar he was only getting two months out of because he couldn't look at the one with all Buck's notes penned in anymore.
"Wow," Buck says, and shifts his weight awkwardly.
"What are you -?"
"Jee and I made you birthday cupcakes," Buck says. His voice is hard. Angry. Hurt. "Happy birthday, asshole."
---
He cracks the lid and there are only three cupcakes inside. Tommy forgets himself. Raises a brow, amusement rolling over him pleasantly, prepared to tease him, but then he catches the set of Buck's legs and the curl of his mouth and the tight way his arm tucks itself back in against his belly, a protective gesture that reminds Tommy very effectively what this is.
"Why?" Tommy wonders aloud, and Evan's scowl deepens.
Buck's scowl.
God.
"We've been planning it for weeks." Something flashes across his eyes before he schools his features. "Jee made me promise to bring you some."
"She must not be a skilled baker," Tommy jokes. "If these are the only ones that made it."
Evan's expression twists. "I ate most of them."
The frosting looks fresh. No creases in the paper cup holding them together.
"I had to make a new batch of frosting because I used some of it for -." He cuts himself off. Looks like he'd like to throw it in Tommy's face but can't quite force himself to hurt Tommy.
It hurts as much as he'd expected, anyway.
The world is a small place. It's not the first time he's had to speak to an ex when he didn't want to. It's never pleasant.
This is worse. The cut and run is supposed to give him time.
Evan Buckley has been an ache behind his ribcage for months, now, long before he'd made that final decision. He'd known it was too little too late. Buck's gonna be the shadow other men see behind his eyes for years.
Buck's apparently found and slept with someone within the week and a half span from Tommy walking out to his sad shitty mopey birthday.
That he'd forgotten about.
Tommy leans in. Picks up a cupcake. Licks a stripe through the frosting and makes a face when he realizes it's buttercream.
"The ones you were supposed to get had the whipped cream one you like," Buck says, accusingly.
That somehow stings just a little bit extra.
Tommy pulls back the paper, takes a bite. There's raspberry filling inside, and Tommy can feel tears prickling at the edges of his eyes, because when he'd told Evan about how his grandma baked he'd been thinking of Evan being a grandparent, the kind of shit he'd forbidden himself from imagining with anyone he was dating years ago.
"Thank you," he manages, and Buck frowns.
"He thought the whipped cream was too sweet." And Tommy probably deserves this but he's not particularly in the mood.
"Cut it out, Buck."
Buck rolls his jaw. "I just figured you'd wanna know how it's going. Maybe I could tally up the hookups for you, count them all up by gender and stamina and opinions on how I should feel and act and fall for someone. Find out if I'm actually gay enough to be a man's last."
---
The rest of the cupcake kind of collapses and oozes as Tommy smacks it down on the counter. He takes thirty seconds to pull the other two cupcakes out before he's grabbing the too-large fake Pyrex and turning heel. The keto bread goes in the pan. Then the milk frother.
Tommy yanks the recital program off the fridge and tosses it in the trash.
Buck almost looks triumphant.
"The box under the side table has the rest. You can see yourself out."
He actually does exactly as he's told, and Tommy listens to his footsteps drift off, shoulders hunched in and the breath tight in his throat. He'd been cruel, it was only fair Buck got a few final kicks in.
Tommy sucks in a breath and blinks away the moisture at the edges of his vision.
The footsteps take a heel turn at the side table and turn right back around.
"This isn't everything."
Tommy half expects some panned comment about how Tommy's got his heart - the kind of silly shit he'd say to a dead outlaw.
"My sweatshirt," Buck says, and Tommy freezes.
He could lie. He could pretend he had no idea where it was. Claim he didn't remember it even being here, because that particular piece of clothing did have a tendency to travel.
He doesn't fucking want to hand that one over.
Buck smirks, like he's caught the crack, and is looking for ways to exploit it.
"I own my own house!" Tommy says, and it's a terrible launching point but Buck latches on.
"You just left, Tommy! I know I jumped the gun, Tommy, but you didn't even - you just left! I'm sorry, okay. I'm sorry I didn't know I was into men until you. I'm sorry you had to be my first, I'm sure that must have been such a burden for you."
"That's not fair."
"You didn't even give me a chance. That was - I'm so angry with you, Tommy. I'm so fucking mad."
"I know."
"But that's what you planned for, right? That's - you ripped the bandaid, Tommy, except there's a whole fucking untreated stab wound right underneath and it's still bleeding, Tommy."
"Did you even make this round of cupcakes with your niece?" It's better to keep his family's names out of his mouth. Just keep those ties cut.
Buck looks livid. "No, you idiot, I whipped up a tiny batch of this recipe just for the excuse to see you and - and tell you what a stupid, awful coward you are."
"That's not f-." He isn't sure whether Buck is being facetious about the small batch thing or not. He doesn't have any time to think about it.
"My sister and Chim are having another baby. Bobby and Athena are probably gonna host Christmas this year. Eddie shaved off the mustache and he's, like, dancing now, I guess. Hen and Karen are good for the first time in -." He shakes his head. Stares at Tommy. Tommy can't quite hide from that gaze. "We were good, Tommy. We were - you loved me."
He'd never said the words. Neither had Evan, but they'd both known. Both felt it. Tommy let it go too far, did it scared for longer than he usually would.
"It's not like that just went away when I walked out, Evan," Tommy hisses, and then regrets it immediately.
Evan has spent most of this visit pushing, pressing, digging fingers into the wound to make it hurt.
Evan goes silent now, reeling back a little. He seems shocked that Tommy had admitted it.
"I want you to go," Tommy says. "I need you to go, Buck."
It was the right dagger the first time, but apparently it's only effective once.
"I love you too, you know." His voice is soft. Tommy can't meet his eye. "And I hate you. I hate you even though I know that's what you wanted but I love you too much to not hate you out of spite."
Tommy knows if he caves it's done. He's signing himself over to whatever fucked thing will end them a week, a month, five years, two decades from now.
"Go home, Buck. Hate me there."
---
He goes in for the kill.
"I called Abby, two nights ago."
Right for the jugular. No survivors.
"She laughed for like twenty minutes, and then she tried to get me to chat about our sex life for comparison, and then she was shocked silent for a full minute when I wouldn't." Because Evan had always been a little too open about those details. "She also told me she forgave you but she doesn't think you ever forgave yourself."
Tommy agrees. For all that they'd been terrible for each other, they'd known how the hell to take care of one another like no one's business.
"I want you to go," Tommy says, steady, quiet, nearly a snark for how deep his voice goes to hide the tremor in it.
Buck cocks a hip against the doorframe. "I want my sweatshirt."
The breath that escapes him is shaky, but her think he hides most of it behind the hand over his face, the finger pinched at the bridge of his nose.
"I can't do this."
"Exactly how many men and women do I have to fuck before you believe the future I'm looking at is with you?"
"All of them! None! It was a stupid thing to say and it's not what I meant and I can't do this."
Buck spins on his heel. Grabs the box he'd set aside and hefts it up into his arms. "I'm coming back for my sweatshirt," he says. "You let me know whether you want to talk about the data points of the sexuality spreadsheet or about us."
"There is no us, Buck." His voice sounds defeated even to himself.
"If that was true you'd just give me the stupid sweater and be done."
Tommy sits in silence. He does not get up to retrieve the hoodie. Buck is still angry, but his smile is wide and bashful.
Tommy listens to his footsteps trail down the hall, towards the door, out of it. He hears the Jeep's ignition catch, the wheels roll off the drive.
He realizes he'd left the goddamn Jeep manual open on the timing belt page, right there on his side table where he'd pointed out the things he wanted Evan to take to clear him from his life.
---
There is someone knocking at his door.
Tommy doesn't quite ignore it.
He hid the sweatshirt in one of his toolbox drawers when Evan texted him this morning to let him know he'd be over with a six pack and a pot of chili.
There's a zero percent chance Evan's getting that sweatshirt back, tonight.

Nugget Update (MV1)
sumary: y/n's always giddy after getting a nugget update, sure she loves her best boy, but it also has something to do with the cat sitter sending the updates
driver!reader x cat sitter!max verstappen -> habs incoming... series masterlist
cw: not fia approved words, a bit of lance hate (I don't actually hate him), mutual pinning, the grid teasing the reader, lot of appearances from the reader's cat, kissing, kinda mean!reader (to the grid)
wc: 4.1k
a/n: this is my first time writing in 2nd person so bear with me. also, I low key hate this and it may be shit. not proof read!
âWell arenât you a ball of sunshine?â A voice called out, disturbing the peace - or the closest thing to peace you could have near a Formula 1 track.
Your gaze snapped up, eyes narrowing as you took in the man standing on the entry of the RedBull garage. âHello, Charles,â you replied, a teasing bite obviously heard in your voice as you crossed your arms over your chest. âI know you wanted to experience what a successful garage looks like but I thought Ferrari had a better hold on you.â
Charles laughs, his eyes crinkling as his lips stretch into a smile. Teasing Charles was always a fun time but thatâs all it was, just a bit of fun. It never stretched into something meaner, just two people showing affection by teasing each other.
Charles had been your very first real friend on the grid. The first to offer his hand with a smile and genuinely mean it. The first to congratulate you on a win after getting out of the car or the first to say that the next race would be better. Really, he was your best friend, but you would never tell him that or it would go to his head.
âFunny, very funny.â He said, his accent thick. His eyes slid around the motor home until finally meeting your own. âLot of drivers are going out for drinks, came by to invite you.â
âI donât Charles,â you started to say, going through your mental list of excuses, searching for the best one to use to avoid this social interaction.
âOh come on!â He whined, rolling his eyes. He gave you a look that let you know you could stop thinking about an excuse because he wasnât going to be buying it. âWe wonât stay that long and itâs night race tomorrow so you donât need to wake up at the crack of dawn.â
You pressed your lips together, the lip gloss previously applied making them slide against each other easily.Â
Charles kissed his teeth, nodding his head along. Fine, heâll play the game. âSome of the WAGâs are coming as well.â
âAre you really trying to lure me out by promising female company?â
âIs it working?â
âEh,â you shrugged your shoulders. âWill you pay my tab?â
Charles scoffed. âPay your tab?â He asked, sounding as if you had asked him for his firstborn. âYouâre filthy rich! You have a bigger salary than me!â
âYeah, they do pay world champions a bit extra, comes with the title.â You replied, grinning at him, a wide teasing grin, your eyes twinkling.Â
âFine whatever, Iâll pay your tab.â He said, raising his hands in surrender. âNow go take that suit off and shower, you look disgusting.â
âYou look like a trash can threw you up!â
âIt threw me up because it saw you!â Charles shouted back in response, his back already turned to you as he walked away, back to the Ferrari garage.Â
And thatâs how you ended up in the bar, an hour later. Squished in the not too comfortable and definitely not meant to sit so many people, booth. With Georgeâs girlfriend Carmen on your left, and Pierreâs girlfriend Kika on your right, and deep in conversation with both of them.Â
You feel your phone vibrate under your hand on the table, and the screen lights up, showing off your wallpaper, a picture of your beloved cat Nugget.
You tune off from the conversation the moment the message arrives, grabbing your phone and pulling it in towards you. Your face lights up, lips stretching into a smile as your eyes focus on the sender ID. Maxie.
Or rather Max. The very cute guy who was your cat sitter whenever you were out and about in the world, chasing the racing track.Â
With a quick move of your fingers, you swipe up, opening your phone and going into the message app. Fingers quickly tapping along the screen of your phone as you type out your reply.
With a smile you closed the messages app, pressing your fingers against the button on the side of your phone, watching the screen go black before setting it face down onto the table. As you looked back up, Landoâs amused yet teasing expression caught your eye.
You leaned forward against the table, pressing your hands to the wooden surface as you attempted to get a bit closer to the driver on the other side of the table. âWhy are you looking at me like that?â
âOh nothing,â he said with a laugh. âJust wondering who youâre texting, thatâs all.â He intertwined his fingers, elbows pressed against the table and leaned forward as well. âYou were all grumpy cat but then you get a message and suddenly youâre all smiles.â
âGrumpy cat?â You scoff, rolling your eyes at the McLaren driver. âIâm not a grumpy cat. And for the record, that was Nuggetâs babysitter and he was sending me a picture of Nugget.â
Lando laughs, thereâs a twinkle in his eyes that tells you he wants to say more but he holds himself back. âCan I see? I havenât seen the orange gremlin in so long.â
âThatâs very mean,â you say, opening your phone to show him the picture, that Max had sent you. âNugget would never say that about you.â
âThatâs because Nugget canât speak.â He looks at the screen and his lips twist upward in a smirk. âWhoâs Maxie?â
You breathe out through your nose, teeth digging into your bottom lip. When you speak your voice is sharp, it leaves no room for questioning things or an invite to ask more questions. âThe cat sitter.â
âIâm sure thatâs all he is.â Lando laughs when you show him your middle finger before settling back into your seat and returning to the previously abandoned conversation with the two WAGâs.
The race went pretty smoothly, as always. Starting from pole, keeping the lead the whole race and with a 20s gap to car in P2. Everything after that was pretty much a blur, the interviews, partying through the night with the grid and boarding the jet early in the morning.
The sun already started setting by the time you made it to Monaco. With a sigh you rummaged through your bag, blindly feeling around the stuff inside before your fingers finally wrapped around the keys.
Opening the apartment door you walked inside, gently laying down your suitcase as your eyes settled on the scene in your living room. Right there, laying on your couch, in deep sleep, and cuddling your cat is Max Verstappen.Â
His hair had fallen over his eyes and the position heâs in looks rather uncomfortable, youâre sure his body will be aching when he wakes up. His chest was raising and falling with each breath he took, little sighs slipping past his lips. Nugget was cuddled up to him, curled in a ball.
You looked at him for a few moments before starting to move around as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake him up.Â
Max had been cat sitting for you for a while now. Half of last season and now half of this one so almost a year. He was a sweet, kinda shy, mostly nerdy guy you ran into in a coffee shop and spilled his coffee. You offered to buy him a new one and he joined you for the coffee and you got to talking when he said he was looking for a job so you offered him to become your pet sitter.
At that point you really did need someone to look after your cat while you were gone, since you had broken up with your ex who usually took care of Nugget while you were away. And you couldnât leave Nugget with your parents since your father was allergic to cats.
Now, your best friend who had been working in a different country had returned to Monaco and said sheâd be more than happy to look after Nugget - but you wanted to keep Max around.Â
Already having grown used to coming home after a race weekend to find him there, just existing in your space.
Nuggetâs whiskers twitch, his eyes opening and he pulls himself away from Max, stretches out and then trots over to you, rubbing his head against your leg affectionately while purring. He let out a happy, albeit a bit too loud, meow when you picked him up and on the other side of the room Max began stirring from his sleep.
He opened his eyes, a bit confused, and rubbed his knuckles against his eyes to wake up, blinking a few times as his eyes adjusted to the light filling up the room.Â
âYouâre back,â he says, his voice is gentle, still sleepy and a bit quiet. His eyes meet yours and he offers you a sweet smile that has you immediately smiling back at him. âDidnât mean to fall asleep, sorry about that.â
âOh no, itâs no problem,â you reply, running your hand over Nuggetâs fur as the cat lay happily in your arms. âYou can use the guest bedroom if youâre tired, you know. The couch may be expensive but that doesnât mean itâs comfortable for sleep.â
âI didnât want to overstep,â Max said, pulling himself up into a sitting position. You approached the couch and sat down, the cat nestling in your lap and purring in content. Max smiled, reaching out his hand and petting Nugget.
âNonsense Max, youâre not overstepping.â You cut him off, leaving no room for argument. You always told him to feel at ease in your apartment, that he was welcome to any food in the fridge and free to use the guest room as he pleased but even after all this time there was still a slight air of awkwardness backed up by the fear of going a bit too far.
Maxâs eyes settled on you, your own focused on your cat so you didnât notice him looking. He watched the way you cooed at Nugget, asking if he was a good boy while you were away and petting him gently, and his lips stretched into a small, careful smile.
He spoke before thinking. The words left his mouth before he even finished the thought inside of his head. âI watched the race,â he said, and your eyes instantly snapped up to meet his. He swallowed, already too deep to back down. âIt - â he licked his lips, trying to decide his next words, feeling like his tongue had tied itself up in a knot. âYou were spectacular. It was lovely ⌠simply lovely.â
You let out a breath, the corners of your mouth twisting upwards and you gave him a thankful look. Max swore he could feel his heart beating in his throat, and felt his cheeks heat up. âThank you,â you said, your voice gentle, holding a comforting tone. âIâm glad you enjoyed it. And itâs nice - knowing you watched.â
âIt is?â
You bit your lip, teeth scraping against you bottom lip as you looked at him, your brain running faster than the Sauber (like itâs hard) as you tried to come up with a response. âItâs kind of comforting,â you finally said, after what felt like a small forever.
You hummed, looking down at your nails. âI was thinking about bringing Nugget with me to the next race. Itâs been a while since he was in the paddock.â
âOh,â Max said, an edge of confusion noticeable in the tone of his voice. âDoes that mean that you donât need me coming over next week?â
âActually, I was hoping you would come with.â You say, before you can talk yourself out of making the proposition.
Max tilts his head to the side, kind of like a confused cat and you try your best not to giggle at the mental image. âIâm not sure Iâm following.â
âIf you wanted to attend the Grand Prix,â you tell him, running the edge of one of your nails along your skin. âCuzâ Iâm still gonna need someone to look after Nugget, and you do that in general so this would just be an added bonus of traveling.â
Max is silent for a few moments and you think heâll decline. You wouldn't fully blame him if he did, you know what the pressure of the paddock can be like. Youâre about to open your mouth, tell him that ânever mind, it was a stupid idea anywayâ and put him out of the trouble of finding a polite way to decline when he finally speaks.Â
âI suppose, if you want me to then yeah, Iâll come along to watch Nugget.â He says, trying to ignore the nervous feeling building up in his chest when you smile at him, a wide happy smile that makes him instantly smile back.
âGreat!â You said, the excitement evident in your voice. âSomeone from the team will contact you in a while to arrange the tickets and leave the rest to me.â Max nods, he doesnât trust himself to speak, not with the way his throat is closing up and it makes him feel like he canât breathe.
âLook at you all giggly,â Charles teased, gently pushing your shoulder with his hand. He wiggled his eyebrows, a laugh slipping past his lips as you glared at him.
âCharles, why donât you turn around and flash your pretty face to the crowd.â You said, rolling your eyes. You looked at the stadium full of people who were shouting out for their favorite drivers, waving banners and cheering happily. You smiled towards the stadium and lifted your hand up, waving your fingers to the public. âGive them a wave.â
âSee, I always knew you thought I was pretty,â Charles replied, waving at the public. The two of you and the rest of the grid were in a wagon, going around the track for the drivers parade, so essentially you were stuck with him for at least five more minutes. âNow, do tell whoâs got you smiling like that.â
âIs it Maxie?â Lando asked, the teasing tone evident in his voice. He pushed himself closer to you and Charles, inserting himself into the conversation.Â
âDidnât your mom teach you not to eavesdrop?âÂ
âNo, no!â Charles said, shaking his head as he waved his hand dismissively as you, his full attention now focused on Lando. âWhoâs Maxie?â
Lando smiled at him, his eyes sparkling with mischief. âThe cat sitter,â he said in a sing-song kind of voice.Â
âThe one you brought to your garage?â The Ferrari driver asked, his attention back on you. âThe pretty one.â
âHold up!â Lando almost shouted, raising his hands. âYou brought him with you to the Grand Prix?!â
âI didnât ⌠well I did bring him.â You said with a sigh, there was no escaping this now. But itâs not like that. Heâs here to watch Nugget.â
âAnd for you to watch him - because boy that is one good arm candy.â
âCharles, your homosexual is showing,â you warned.
âBut youâre not denying it,â Charles noted, giving you a smirk.
You rolled your eyes at him but finally gave in. âYes, Iâm not denying it.â
You stepped back into the motor home, your eyes immediately searching for Max and finally you found him talking to your lead engineer. As you approached the two you could start to hear their conversation and quickly realized they were talking about how the car worked and what went on behind the scenes at a Grand Prix. You found it cute that Max was interested in that.
His eyes met yours and his face lit up, the corners of his mouth twisting upwards into a smile. âYouâre back!â He said, âAfter terrorizing everyone around and getting pets, Nugget decided to settle down for a nap. Heâs in your driver's room.â
Max gave you a wink after saying that and you had to hold in a giggle. You excused yourself to go to your driverâs room, with Max following behind you. The first thing you noticed when you went inside was Nugget, curled up on the massage bed and sleeping without a care.
The next thing that grabbed your attention was a dozen pastries lined up on a small table next to the couch. They were all individually wrapped in tissues.
âMax,â you said, picking up one of the pastries and unwrapping it. âI really did mean only one pastry, you know?â You bit into the chocolate filled pastry, moaning at the taste of a treat you werenât usually allowed to have when it was race week. âMy trainer will strangle me if he sees.â
âI swear, no one saw anything.â Max said, shuffling over to the couch and sitting down. âI was sneakier than Nugget when heâs stealing my food.â
âOh, now thatâs a very serious claim.â You told him with a laugh, his own laugh echoing back. You picked up one of the wrapped pastries and offered it to him. âTake one, or five. Thereâs no way Iâm eating it all.â
He takes the pastry youâre offering him, his fingers brushing against your own as he takes it from your hand, sending sparks of electricity down your spine. After a second of hesitation you sit down next to him, the two of you eating the treats in comfortable silence.
His thigh nudges against yours and you turn to face him, finding that heâs already looking at you. He smiles and you donât hesitate to smile back.
The practices go great, P2 in FP1, P1 in FP2 and P1 in FP3.Â
The qualifying is where a slight setback shows up, with quali being ended early due to a crash and a red flag, putting you in P10 for the start of the race tomorrow. Â
Once the car had rolled back into the pits you wasted no time getting out, putting the steering wheel back into place before storming into your driverâs room.Â
You pulled your helmet off, fingers curling into the bottom of your balaclava as you pulled it off, throwing it next to your helmet before bringing your hands up to smooth down your hair.Â
âIâm not in the fucking mood, Pepe.â You said without turning around, assuming it was your race engineer coming to talk about the outcome of qualifying. âFucking Lance and his fucking money made seat - if that little frog screws up another quali, Iâll be the one crashing him out.â
âIâm not Pepe,â the other person in the room says and you instantly turn around, your eyes wide as they meet Maxâs blue ones. âAnd Iâm certainly glad Iâm not Lance.â
You looked him up and down, eyes trailing over his figure. You took notice of Nugged, cuddled up in his arms and looked at you curiously, and reached your hand out to pet the cat, a long breath slipping past your lips.Â
âSorry,â you said with a shrug of your shoulders. âI didnât really mean for you to hear that.â
Max barely heard what you were saying. Too distracted by the sight of you for his brain to properly register your words. Your skin was slightly glistening with sweat, an imprint from where your helmet and balaclava had dug into your skin still visible on your flushed cheeks. Your messy hair, and your chest raising and falling with each breath you took as you were still working on catching up your breath.
Max blinked, finally snapping out of his thoughts and focusing his attention back to what you were saying. âThey should have let you finish the lap.âÂ
âI agree but sadly thatâs not how it works.â
Max nodded along, not really knowing what to say to that so he switched to the next topic. âI ran into your friend. He invited you, and me, out for drinks. I think it would be nice to go, you seem like you need a drink.â
âYeah, I definitely do.â You replied, taking Nugget from his arms and into your own, stroking down the catâs body. âWhich friend?â
âUh,â Max started, thinking of a way to describe the guy since he couldnât remember his name. âWears red, pretty, sounds French.â
You laughed, smiling at him. âThatâs Charles. I hope you didnât tell him he sounds French, he gets offended by that.â
âThen itâs great I kept it to myself.â
You laughed in reply, putting Nugget down to the floor, the cat immediately moving to a cozy corner and curling up into a ball on the floor, shutting his eyes. âThe hotel is right next to the track, you can take Nugget back while I shower and then we can go - if you want to.â
âSounds like a deal,â Max replied with a smile.
You showered and put on a clean set of clothes just in time to meet Max after he finished dropping Nugget back to the hotel, leaving him with toys, food and water. The two of you made your way to the bar to join the rest of the grid for a night out.Â
Some of the drivers were playing pool while their girlfriends were engrossed in a conversation so that left you and Max sitting together, sharing drinks and talking.
âI just âŚâ you started, cracking your fingers. âI donât know, this quali really messed up my mood and I was riding on such a high after the practices going well. It all feels shit now.â
âMaybe you just need more motivation for the race.â Max offered, drinking the rest of the liquor from his glass in one go.Â
âYou have something in mind, Maxie?â You asked, the nickname slipping past your lips without a thought now that youâve had a few drinks.Â
âHow about a kiss if you get on the podium?â He said, his voice suggestive. Normally he never would have dared to say something like that but the alcohol courage really worked wonders.Â
Your eyes widened, clearly not expecting him to be so bold or to suggest that. He took your reaction as a bad sign, immediately straightening up as a wave of dread quickly sobered him up.
âIâm sorry,â he gasped out, the expression on his face shifting into a panicked one. âThat was stupid. It was thoughtless. It was -â
âA great motivation,â you cut him off, putting a finger up against his lips to silence him. âIt was a great motivation.â
His cheeks burned as his eyes met yours. He looked so vulnerable, his bright eyes impossibly wide. âYeah?â
âYeah!â
âOne more corner to go but youâre in the clear,â Pepeâs voice echoed over the radio. You blinked, your eyes focused on the track before you, the checkered flag already visible along with your team gathering in the front. âThatâs P1, Y/n. Phenomenal drive today, you deserved it!â
âThank you,â you said, your voice breathless as you moved your hands, going through the last corner and speeding towards the finish line. âThank you, Pepe.â You repeated, swallowing your spit. âIt was lovely, simply lovely.â
You put the car into P1, getting out and posing for a picture on top of your car. You could hear the shouts, the cheers, the celebration. You took off your helmet, ripping off your balaclava and putting them both into the car before turning around to face the team, eyes searching for a particular face.Â
Finally, you spotted Max. Standing besides your engineer, a proud expression on his face as he looked at you with a wide smile. You didnât hesitate, feet moving before you could think and then you were in front of him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him down, smashing your lips into his.
The kiss was desperate, both of having waited long enough for it. He wrapped his arms around you, the best he could with the fence between you, kissing you back with need.Â
You finally pulled away when you felt your lungs burning from the lack of oxygen, learning your forehead against his. Nothing else mattered, not the public, not the team, not the celebration. Only him, finally yours.
âSimply lovely, right?â You asked, your voice breathless.
âSimply lovely!â Max repeated back to you, before kissing you once again. And he really did mean it - everything was simply lovely.

Katie flung the door open and ushered the young king inside quickly, apologizing profusely.
King Dominick rolled his eyes. âWhatever. Iâm inside now. Thank you.â
Katie stared for a moment as he took off his coat and hat and hung them by the door.Â
âUh, what can I do for you, Your Highness?â she asked awkwardly, gesturing for him to sit down.
The king sighed. âTruthfully, I just need a place to wait out the storm until some of my men can find me. Stupid storm came out of nowhere and my horseâŚcouldnât make it through. Stepped in a hole.â
Katie winced. âIs heâŚstill out there?âÂ
King Dominick shrugged. âCouldnât let him suffer out there for who knows how long.â
The wind howled outside, startling them both. Katie walked over the window and looked out.Â
She turned back to the king slowly. âI hate to have to tell you this, Your Highness, but you might be stuck here longer than you thought. Snow storms especially are pretty bad here in the valley. Could last for a few days. And if no one knows where you areâŚâ Her voice trailed off uncertainly.
He sighed, his head dropping into his hands. âCall me Dominick. If Iâm going to be here for a while, we might as well dispense with the formalities. And your name is?â
âKatie,â she mumbled, slightly shocked. She shook herself out of her stupor and rushed into the kitchen, bringing back a bowl of soup for each of them.Â
âGlad I made extra,â she joked with a half-smile.
They didnât speak as they picked at their food. Neither of them said much as Katie showed Dominick to her guest room for the night.
They werenât sure how it happened. One day, they were barely speaking, their relationship strained from proximity and difference in social class. Then the next day, they were laughing together like old friends.
It took two days for the snow to stop. Another two days for it to melt enough to travel. By then, Dominick was all too happy to wait for someone to find him, praying they would take their time.
Almost a week after the snow melted, the dreaded moment finally came with a pound on the front door of Katieâs cottage.
The two looked at each other, their eyes wide with a mixture of relief, fear, and sadness.Â
Katie slowly rose and trudged over to open the door without a word, reverting back to the beginning when they barely spoke.
Dominick lunged and grabbed Katieâs wrist. âWait,â he said desperately.
She looked at him, taking a deep breath and redrawing the lines they had slowly torn down. âYes, Your Highness?â
Dominick winced. âWait,â he said again.
The pounding on the door resumed, startling them.
Katie moved toward the door again. âWeâre out of time. You need to go back to your life and I need to go back to mine.â She gently pulled her hand away, turning so he couldnât see the tears welling up in her eyes.
Dominick reached for her again, but Katie pulled the door open, and the guards on the other side erupted in cheers.
They were all so busy thanking Katie and bundling Dominick onto a horse, that every guard missed the look Dominick was giving her.
Katie ignored the burning in her eyes as she watched them ride away.
A week later, a letter arrived for Katie. She burned it. For the next several months, letters kept arriving, sometimes, days apart, sometimes a week, but all from Dominick.
Katie burned every single one.
"who's this?" "it's the fucking king of England, that's who it is. Now open up, I'm drenched and I'm cold" answered a voice from the outside. "really funny sir. And original, I haven't heard this one since⌠Oh I'm sorry your highness"

WEIRD HOBBIES
-ËË| summary: you meet a guy in a bar and decide to go back to his place, as weird as he might seem.
⧠| Pairing: Martin (in the modern world) x reader
⧠| word count: 2.3k
⧠| Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI, Oral (f/m receiving), 69 position, Martin is weird as hell but a pussy eating champ! Not beta proof<3
âSo⌠whatâs your name again?â You ask curiously, walking behind the man that holds your hand, guiding you through his home, and to his bedroom. You donât complain, though, since you were out just for that; to get home with a handsome man.Â
There was this band that you never heard of playing near your house, and it took little for your brain to convince you to go. If something good came from it, you would get fucked. If something bad came from it, well⌠you hoped for the first one.Â
Thatâs how you ended up here, following a dude, which looks from head to toe like a metal head. His hair goes to his shoulders, coal black, which you assume he dyed it, and some graphic shirt with the words âKnotfestâ and all, wearing some metal stuff that you didnât really know much about.
And you looked like a rock groupie, with a leather top that practically squeezed your tits and a dark jeans miniskirt with some boots. Yet, this mysterious man was still taller than you, and that was quite exciting, and a bit arousing.
âEh, Martinâ he says nonchalantly, as he grabs your hand, his bracelets really end up the detail of his fit, and you feel really horny now to lay with this dude. âYours?â
You tell Martin your name, following him as he opens his bedroom door. To be fair, it is tidier than you imagined.
âSorry the messâ he murmurs, moving the drone and an electric guitar out of his bed. You hum, looking around curiously, to the badly positioned posters, some rock-metal bands that you didnât know about.
âIs that a snake?â You ask, watching the little head of the reptile in the middle of the dim light coming from outside.
âUh- no, itâs a lizardâÂ
A guy with a lizard as a pet. Okay.
âWhat is its name?âÂ
âLizard. I donât like naming them-âÂ
Great.Â
You look at him with a fake smile. The dick better be good you think, taking out your jacket and leaving it on a chair next to the desk.
âBe careful, spider likes to crawl near thereâ
You took your jacket off there, and you really hoped that he had a dog called spider because otherwise it would be strange as hell.
âRiiiiightâ you say, leaving your jacket in a hanger of his opened closet. Whatever. âSo⌠Apart from having a lizard and a spider⌠do you maybe also have⌠a cockroach?â
He lets out a huff, his lips turning upwards as he takes his shirt off. âNoâ Martin says. âI do have another thing, though, itâs very bigâ
You try to smile at his corny, cringy words. Itâs for the dick. You repeat to yourself: The dick better be good. He better not finish in two minutes. He better knows how to eat pussy.
âHa. Funnyâ you say as you start to take off those boots.
âHow did ya meet the band?â
âEhmm⌠A friend dated the brother of an ex of the bassist. I thinkâ you say watching as he frowns his eyebrows slightly trying to make any sense as he lights up a cigarette.Â
âah, niceâ he says as he lays on bed as he smokes the cigarette, taking off his shirt as he remains only in those Adidas jeans of his. âHeard the songs before?â
âOnce or twiceâ you say looking at the CD albums stacked on top of each other messily, and you move to grab a solitude piece of paper, as you can practically feel Martinâs eyes on your ass. âI liked the vocalist, quite handsome, donât you think?â you unwrap softly the paper, away from Martinâs eyes.
It was an address. It piqued your curiosity.
âAye, come hereâ his voice is soft as he extends his hand to turn off the cigarette on the glass ashtray, which has the shape of a dragon.
You turn around and walk toward his bed, and watch how he seems eager to have you. Itâs hot to have a man drooling for you like Martin is now. And his erection is the living proof of it; it was obvious against his trousers that he was rock hard. You wondered if he was leaking as well.Â
You straddle his lap, a smirk forming on your lips as his hands move immediately to your thighs, cold hands moving slowly up to find their way to your ass.Â
âSit on my faceâ Martin murmurs, words slightly stuck between his pants
âHm? What was that?â You ask petulantly, pretending not to have heard.Â
âCome on, beautiful, sit on my faceâ he says, pushing your hips closer to his chest, trying to push your miniskirt up.
âGotta take my panties offâ you say softly to him, watching his lips as he licks them, savouring the ghosting taste of you.
âNo, like thisâ he murmurs, eager to taste you. âIâll eat you from behind even.â Martin proposes, more desperate than the last time âPleaseâ
You might forgive cheesy comments for his eagerness. You sigh with a wide smirk, turning around as Martin places his big hands around your thighs, dragging your centre closer to his face.Â
Eager was the wrong word for it; he was desperate.
His hand moved your panties to the side, and his face almost nuzzled your cunt, before starting to press his tongue on your centre. You could hear his groan of pure delight, his hands caressing the skin of your thighs and ass as he delighted himself.Â
âFuckâ you said, but it was as if all the air from your lungs when out in that moan.Â
Martinâs hands were keeping you still, not allowing you to move your hips to grind his face as you wanted. You could hear his moans, the way he slurped and nuzzled his face on your cunt.Â
He was a pro, eating pussy as if he did it every day (maybe he did, god knows), and he didnât seem to care for his lack of air in the matter. He was on it, devoted to eating your dripping cunt as if it was his last meal on earth.
Your hands are pressed on his stomach, and he has to forcefully let you go to breathe, and you sigh as you feel his breaths.Â
âWhere did you learn to do that?â You breathe softly, as you can hear how he pants, catching his breath.Â
âA good pussy can make a man go feral, loveâ he says, moving your panties out of the way as his index and middle finger move to rub against your slit.Â
He was cheesy, and it was a bit weird. Yet it couldnât bother you less, you had been with worse men, and Martin was good in other areasâŚ, well, at least in sex and eating out a pussy. And it was more than average, so you were up to it.
Before he decides to keep on eating you, still caressing your clit as he catches his breath, you lean a bit on his torso, to try to pull down the leather pants, opening the zipper.Â
It takes you a bit, yet after accomplishing your mission, your hand grabs his dick to guide it into your warm, eager mouth.Â
He was well doted, and hard as a rock. He was leaking, and his tip was a bit pink compared with the rest of his cock.Â
God damn you if it didnât make your mouth drool. Between him eating you out, and his leaking cock, you think you will go insane. He could have cheeky, cringe comments but you could live with it. You couldnât live without him eating you out or his cock.Â
You are as enthusiastic with his cock as he is. Though, you start slower. You take the head on your mouth, sucking on it as you feel him groan against your pussy. It was fucking hot, and it had you moaning on his cock. You didnât remember the last time your legs were trembling like this, and how much you wanted to feel a dick in your throat. It was a need, a primal need.
Martin was kind and nice, had his things, but god, you need to fuck him. You might even need to have his babies by now. You wouldnât complain if he came all inside you, filling you with his cum, and making you pregnant. Fuck, it even turned you more on. What was this man doing to you?
You took more of his dick in your mouth, trying to take all of it, not minding if you choke on it. He was hot. More than hot, in truth.
Martin was relentless with his tongue, lapping at your cunt again and again, moaning loudly against it as he could feel how deep you were taking his cock in your mouth. Your hand moved to cup his balls, as your tongue tried to swirl around his tip. It drove him insane.Â
It was not long before you started to cum, moaning loudly, his dick slipping from your mouth as your thighs pressed against his face, riding his face and nose as he was making you cum. His tongue was as greedy as him, and he worked with his nose along your slit. And it made you cum hard, rolling your eyes back. âFuck, Martin, just like thatâŚâ You say, hips grinding against his mouth in a desperate need to stretch the feeling a bit more.Â
And once you finish, your mouth goes back to his cock, to keep on sucking him off. âFuck, you feel incredibleâ he rasped, as you moved forward, closer to his cock and have full access, as Martinâs hips pumped upwards to fuck your mouth.Â
You lay on his chest, his face back on the pillow, moaning loudly as you seem to try to drain him completely, deepthroating him as if it was nothing at all.
âFuck, you are going to make me cumâ He says, teeth gripped as his hand moves to grab a fist of your hair, to move your head down to allow him fuck your mouth deep as he wanted. His own head titles back in pure bliss and pleasure, moaning loudly as he uses your mouth as a desperate animal in need to cum. Not that you complain, it costs a bit more to breathe, and you were almost choking, but hearing Martin be so local, groaning, moaning and grunting was worth it.Â
His cum soon fills your mouth, and he keeps you still, the signal clear for you to swallow all of it, as his throbbing cock unleashed his hot cum.Â
âSwallow it⌠fuck, swallow it all, take what I give youâŚâ he mutters in pure bliss.
As the last drops of cum are licked off his cock, he leans back and you move to his side.Â
âThat was greatâ You mutter, looking at the ceiling. How could he be so great at it?
âYeah. Cig break and round two?â
âHell yeahâ
You are with your friend when you search the location in the paper that you found in Martinâs room. You were supposed to go to the club, you were wearing your miniskirt and a top, really to party, but that man had eaten your pussy and fucked you like no one before, so you felt entitled to find what that was for.
âItâs coldâ Your friend, Tamara, says. She was chewing gum as she followed you begrudgingly.Â
âItâs a fucking parking lot?â You ask looking around the empty street, the night made it lonely yet not totally isolated.Â
âYour darling buries the bodies hereâ Your friend says, obviously judging it all. âCan we go?â
âLook, there is a carâ you point out, as the car seems to be jumping around due to the movements inside. âGods, you think they are having sex?â
âEw, you think he has a brothel in his car?â Tamara asks you, looking at the car as you both get closer. âEww and you fucked without a condom⌠You could get an IST, and dieâ
âIt is called an STD, and⌠I think he is not fucking anyoneâ you frown slightly, getting closer.
âCareful! What if his pimp is hereâŚ?â
âHe is fighting someone!â You say looking inside the car, as you find Martin pressing the head of the other guy against the window.Â
Surely, Martin was a weird dude. He was corny as hell, and he had pets called like the species they were. Sure. He almost burned his hair as he smoked after sex, yes; and he also ate pussy like a champ and was hung as a horse.Â
âI am going thereâ You tell your friends. âThe dick is worth itâ
âYikesâÂ
As you walk closer, you feel your friend either staying behind or walking away, not that you care.Â
Martin had blood trailing down his forehead, and was lying in the passengerâs seat as his thighs choked the other guy he was with, holding his head still with his hands. Okay, whatever, a guy can have hobbies.
When he sees you, he starts rolling down the window of the car, as you lean closer to his height.
âHey, darling- how did yaââ
âA girl has her secretsâ you say, smiling as you see him. God, he was sexy as hell. âI want my pussy eatenâÂ
Martin smirks, and he leans back to sigh at your request, as if the idea delights him. He still applies pressure to the other dude, who seems to pass out. Martin leans forward closer to your lips and whispers âWill yaâ wait ten minutes as I finish with this round?â
âThreeâ You bargain.
âSeven.â
âThreeâ
âFive and Iâll make you cum twice.â His final offer, and the time you had in mind. Offering lower than one wants always seems work to get your official deal, even with an extra.
âDealâ you accept with a smirk.Â
And what if he was fighting inside a car? You fancied Martin, and sure as hell he fancied you. Even if he has weird hobbies.Â

present wrapping - nicholas chavez x fem!reader
holly jolly november
you and nicholas are sitting on the living room floor surrounded by wrapping paper, ribbons, and half-wrapped gifts. nick, looking a bit lost, holds a lumpy, unevenly wrapped box in his hands while you canât help but laugh.
âokay, so⌠what exactly is this?â you giggle, pointing at his interestingly wrapped present.
with a sheepish grin on his face, he blushes, âa masterpiece? or maybe an abstract art piece. wrapping paperâs like my worst enemy right now.â
âyeah, i can tell.â you smile as he scratches the back of his neck. âgive me that, iâll teach you.â
half-wrapped present in hand, he shuffles closer to you on the floor. you take the present from him, removing the wrapping paper, and placing it down. as you explain to him the steps of present wrapping, he canât help but be distracted by how pretty you looked under the christmas lights.
you and nick had always been close friends. you met through a mutual friend and clicked instantly. people joked around calling you platonic soulmates and nick always smiled, internally wishing for more. and now, with your soft voice and stunning face, it was harder for him to hide his feelings.
âearth to nick?â you snap at him and raise your brows. âare you even paying attention?â
he blinks his thoughts out of his eyes and nods. âuh- yeah.â
you roll your eyes with a playful smirk. âwell, you better be because iâm making you do it yourself afterwards.â
he chuckled. you were always sassy and sarcastic, two of the many things he loved about you.
âand done!â you held up your perfectly wrapped box with a box fastened on top. âwhy donât you try it? just fold and tape, itâs pretty simple.â you say it like itâs the easiest thing in the world as you hand him the roll of tape and wrapping paper.
his mouth is agape at how easy you made it seem. âyou mean, try to not tape my fingers to the box?â
âexactly. small goals.â you begin laughing as he manages to tape down the paper without issue. he looks at you with a smug expression, taking pride in how he did the first step.
you watch as he focuses, carefully folding the paper like you showed him, his brows furrowed in concentration. thereâs something endearing about how hard heâs trying, and you canât help but smile.
ânot bad⌠okay, okay, youâre actually doing pretty well,â you say, grinning. âmaybe i am a good teacher.â
âor maybe you just have the patience of a saint.â he chuckles, nudging you with his shoulder.
finally, he secures the last piece of tape, then looks at the gift, a bit crooked but charming in its own way.
âthere,â he says, looking at you proudly. âwhat do you think?â
âi think youâre a natural.â you both laugh, the sound warm and easy.
thereâs a quiet pause, and you realize how close youâre sitting. the christmas lights cast a soft glow, and for a second, you wonder if heâs feeling the same thing you are.
âthanks for helping me⌠and for putting up with my terrible wrapping skills,â he says softly.
âhey, anytime,â you reply, meeting his gaze, your voice dropping to a whisper. âitâs actually kinda fun.â
a beat of silence falls over the room like snow on christmas eve. the two of you gaze into each others eyes and for a moment, time froze and only the two of you existed. nicholasâs eyes flickered between yours and your lips.
without another word, he leans in, his lips brushing yours in a gentle, unexpected kiss that feels like itâs been waiting to happen for a long time. itâs soft, warm, and perfectly timed, just like everything else tonight.
he pulls back with a smile. âsorry, i-â
you interrupt him, âi donât mind.â your face is flushed with maroon hues. you try to regulate your breathing.
âgood, because iâve been wanting to do that⌠well, for longer than iâd like to admit.â
you lean into him with a content smile. in that moment, you felt whole. like whatever had been missing inside of you had suddenly been filled. you both let out a small giggle, content with this now cherished moment.

funny seeing you here | Drew Starkey x black!fem reader
summary: after seven months of not seeing his face, you find yourself at the same party heâs at. And he clearly made it his mission to be noticed by you. So what are you gonna do now?
warnings: alcohol consumption, suggestive smut
a/n: Here's part 3 of nothing to say when heaven falls. As the title called it, it was 100% inspired by âfunny seeing you hereâ by Jack Harlow which I recommend listening to during the reading. Comments and reblogs are never required but always very much appreciated đŤśđť
dividers by: @/saradika-graphics
"Hey," he said and you could barely hear the smile on his voice. "I didn't expect to see you here tonight."
No escape.
"Hi," you replied with a low voice, unsure if he had heard it over the loud music. "Yeah, I'm with Frankie."
"Uh, yeah, I saw her," he voices as he scoots slightly closer to you. "This does look more like her scene."
At that, you nod and mentally curse the fifth generation of this damned bartender who has yet to finish your drinks.
Everything around you is spiraling at this point. You were not ready for this, especially with how casual he's being about everything. It was not in your plans to run into him tonight and all you wanted was to get as far away from him as you could.
Your salvation comes in the shape of your friend, who you can see right past her excitement about how much she just wanted to take you out of that situation. She held your arm lightly and, it was as if you weren't waiting for almost ten minutes the bartender returned with both your drinks.
"Hey, uhm, what's taking so long?" Frankie says and pretends to be shocked when she looks up at Drew. "Oh hey! Long time, no see." As the words leave her mouth you notice how the stiff smile on her face shows her displeasure at his presence.
"Hi Frankie," he says a little taken back by her and you notice how he starts tapping his fingers against the glass the same way you were doing moments ago. A shared habit that the both of you didn't get to brush off of one another it seems.
"Let's go, babes! I still have so much to tell you."
With your drinks at hand, you followed her and immediately felt a weight fall off of your shoulders. Still, you weren't able to hold back and you looked over your shoulder just to see him checking you out.
Your face was burning after that and you just prayed to whatever God that Frankie was able to distract you enough to make you not act on the alcohol in your veins.
It wasn't a secret to anyone the effect that he had on you. I mean you were together for years and about to get married - obviously, you had to be attracted to him. And he just had this thing about him that made it very hard for you to ignore.
He looked handsome, but that was no surprise. He always looked so fine, except this time it seemed like he had filled out more. The black shirt he was wearing fitted him perfectly, the sleeves stretched around his biceps, and even from a glimpse you were able to notice how much bigger they were since you last saw him. His outgrown hair now looked more like a growing mullet and, god, that did work with him. At this point, you werenât sure if it was the alcohol or your brain talking about how insanely good he looked.
âY/N, honey, you good?â She asked once the both of you got back to your spot.
âYeah, yeah. Sure, why wouldnât I be?â You retorted to which she just stared at you with uncertainty.
âI donât- I donât know, you just looked like you were about to vanish in thin air back there,â she voices smoothly still looking at you.
âYeah, I uh, I guess I just wasnât expecting that to happen,â you confess.
She nods and sips on her drink, her own eyes scanning the room this time, and once she looks up at you once more you see a glimpse of regret there.
âI didnât know. Had I known I wouldnât have brought you here,â She declares with sorrow and you shake your head quickly.
âHey, I know that! Donât worry, Iâll be fine.â
At that, neither of you is sure enough.
You could feel that it was way past one in the morning, the air just felt different. The party was less crowded but the music was still blaring through the speakers. Frankie was entertained in a talk with a tall dark-skinned man who was whispering in her ear every now and then earning giggles from the brunette.
You had been nursing the drink in your hand for a while now, the condensation around the glass caused your fingertips to be wet. You were much more drunk than youâd normally get, but for once in a long time it felt good to let yourself go.
Still the numbness the alcohol brought, did not evade the feeling of what happened earlier. It had been so long since the last time and you were not expecting to see him like that. What wouldâve happened if Frankie had not interrupted him? What would you have done?
âHey,â You heard Frankieâs voice closer to your ear this time, âWould you mind if I left for a while? I promise Iâll be back and you wonât even notice.â
It amazed you that even with the amount of drinks she had, her pleading eyes didnât fail to convince you. And honestly, she needed to have fun with the hot guy as well. So with a nod you sent her off watching her excitement as she followed him.
At least you were alone with your thoughts and could think and rethink everything, from your coffee orders to your love life as you downed the last of your blue coloured drink. But as if they were trying to prove a point, the spot next to you did not remain empty for long.
The same cologne that woke forbidden memories hours ago was flooding your space once again but this time it was subtle. Almost as if it was fading and taking with it your sanity.
âI thought weâd never get the chance to talk again,â was what he said and it didnât take you long to notice that he too was a few drinks in.
Guess this isnât a sober conversation, huh.
âIâd rather if it stays like that,â you mumbled as you watched him push a bottle of cold water towards you.
âCome on, this is a quieter spot. Iâve been wanting to talk to you for a while now,â He leans in, just like Trent did with Frankie.
It felt so weird being close to him like this after so long. It felt like getting something youâve wanted for so long but you were scared that you got the wrong thing. Does that even make sense?
âHow's your sister and your niece?â You asked since there was no escape.
âTheyâre fine. Both of them, Lily still cries a lot but theyâre good,â he voices as he sips from his own drink.
You unscrew the water bottle and take a big gulp out of it. Why were your hands so sweaty now? You didnât have an answer to that so you just nodded and looked around the room as less and less people filled the dance floor and the bar.
âYou look beautiful,â his compliment breaks the silence and goes straight to those confusing thoughts you were having. You have to control yourself. âI thought a lot before talking to you earlier, but I just couldnât help myself when you looked like this. So prettyâ
Even with his sweet words you couldnât forget who he was and the history between the two of you. It was hard because even if you denied it a part of you still missed him so much. I mean, you shared years of your life with him so it isnât that easy to ignore how much his absence affects you sometimes.
âWhat are you doing here, Drew?â The words leave your mouth before you could even process the thought.
He doesnât say anything for a while and you finally look at him. His hair was slightly darker than it was months ago, the low cut shirt he is wearing gives you a peak of his chest hair and some freckles he has there. Looking into his eyes made your blood freeze for a second, it was like you were drowning in the bluest sea.
He scratched his overgrown beard while he looked down at the cup he was drinking from.
âI miss you,â He confesses with a sigh.
You shake your head as you set the water bottle back on the table.
âNo, you canât do this now,â You say and pray that he can hear you over the music. âNot after everything.â
âI-I fucked up and I know that,â he admits and that makes you feel dizzy. âI want to make things right between us.â
âOh, now? You donât even know if I have someone,â you scoff. âHowâs Odessa by the way?â
âI wouldnât know. Itâs been a while since I last talked to her,â he says.
âWell so itâs best if I look over your shoulder since she might pop up from thin air,â your snide remark doesnât go unnoticed by him but he doesnât say anything.
âIâm not here to talk about anyone else but us. So can we please do that? Letâs find somewhere where we can actually talk because you just left and I know that what I did was the radon to that, but still.â
Your eyes met his for the second time that night and without much thought you found yourself nodding. You texted Frankie letting her know that youâd be getting an Uber home so she didnât have to worry about you and in the next second you were following your ex out of the club.
It didnât shock you that he was still living in the apartment you used to share. It looked almost the same just a few new pieces of furniture decorating the space and you couldnât help but ask yourself if she had helped him to pick them out.
âDo you, uhm, wanna drink something?â He asked after he locked the door behind you.
âYeah, I could use a glass of water.â
âOkay, lemme get that for you,â he says and walks to the kitchen.
You stay in the living room and take it all in. Why does his house feel this warm? Why did you feel comfortable in a place you chose to leave? Why wasnât this freaking you out anymore? Before you could begin to dwell in any of those questions, his footsteps against the wooden floor pulled you from your thoughts.
âHere,â he hands you the filled glass.
âThanks,â you say before taking a small sip from it.
âSo, how have you been?â He asks and you can see that he immediately regrets it, âFuck thatâs a stupid question.â
You canât help but chuckle at that and he quickly follows suit.
âI am okay. Iâve been worse, Iâve been betterâ you admit to which he only nods.
âI felt like shit, you know? I knew I was fucking up but I was so entranced by everything that was happening that I didnât realize how much it was affecting you,â he says as he leans against the wall.
âIt wasnât easy for me to come up to you and say those things but I was so fed up that I didnât know what to do anymore,â you admit as you take a step closer to him without even realising.
âIâm sorry. I never wanted you to feel like I didnât care about you or your feelings.â
âI guess I just didnât want to be an intruder in our own relationship. There was a point where I felt like I needed to talk to her to get to you. And I know there is history between you two, I just didnât want to doubt that there was still something going on.â
You sigh as one of your fingers traced the rim of the glass.
âI mean, there were a few times that I called your phone and she was the one picking it up. That made me feel so insecure and so scared that I was being lied to.â
âI-what? I didnât know that.â He truly seemed surprised by your words.
âWell,â you scoff as you shake your head, âI guess she never told you that I called you then.â
You turn around and put the glass on the centre table. He simply watched you and even if he might not admit it yet seeing you in his house again made something in chest warm. Something in him just told him that you belonged there.
âYou see, this is what I am talking about.â You add without turning to look at him. âThis shouldnât be normal.â
âI really didnât know and when I looked at my calls registry your name wasnât there so I assumed she was telling the truth.â
He did feel guilty about that, but he wasnât lying. He truly didnât know of that happenstance.
You sigh and you look back at him, your eyes burning as you feel a deep sense of deja vu.
âI really thought you were it for me, you know?â You confess and a tear streams down your face.
As if it was a reflex thing, he immediately reaches for you and wipes the tear off your face.
âI am so sorry. You didnât deserve any of that,â he says looking into your eyes.
You didnât know if it was the alcohol or the vulnerability that enveloped the both of you, but you couldnât help more tears from following that first one. It felt so calming to be talking about this with him after so long, like a ton was being taken out of your chest. Obviously you had people to talk to but it wasnât the same.
You rested your head on his shoulder as his hands were on the back of your neck. He went in for the first touch, his lips kissed the top of your head. That made you tense up for a second and as you looked up your gaze was immediately captured by his.
His nose touched yours first and as he leaned in for your lips, you couldnât help but pull back. That happened twice more and you knew that he was frustrated but you were just so scared of opening up to him again.
âPlease,â he begs with a breathy voice and as you look into his eyes you are able to see the same man you fell in love with years ago.
After that you didnât resist anymore and his lips quickly found yours.
Oh.
One of his hands cradled your face as he deepened the kiss and the other was occupied squeezing the softness of your hips. Now, you couldâve lied to yourself about many things, but this was never one of them. He knew exactly where to touch you and how to do it.
You pressed your body against his and the sigh that left your lips when you felt his bulge pressed on your stomach. He moaned on your lips at the pressure and in a blink of an eye you had your legs wrapped around him.
He now held you with one of his arms as he guided the both of you towards the bedroom. His lips didnât leave yours, the only time he broke the kiss was when he pulled your lower lip between his teeth, but in the next second he was devouring them again.
When he reached the bedroom he didnât bother to close the door. He laid you on the bed and you breathlessly watched him pull his shirt off with one hand before he knelt between your legs.
Please God, donât make me regret this.

As a mom with twins, a son and a daughter, I knew to expect to have to defend my daughter against stupid gender shit. I really did not have a concept of how much I would need to defend my son.
The patriarchy does not only hurt women. It hurts men. It hurts EVERYONE no matter their gender identity because it puts people in boxes to make us all easier to control. "Boys will be boys" isn't just used to gaslight girls into accepting bad behavior. It is used to justify harassment of boys who aren't fulfilling gender norms. And, in my experience, it's an excuse for us not engaging with boys and teaching them the emotional intelligence we then bemoan women having to bear the burden of for the men in their lives.
The most obvious and glaring example I can think of is the older female relative, who put intentional effort into encouraging my daughter - telling her that she was strong and smart and could be whatever she wanted. And then mostly just blamed my son for every fight he and his sister had. She was demanding a four year old child be "considerate" of his sister while completely ignoring his feelings herself. And I wish I could say that was one weird isolated example but it wasn't. Similar shit has played out over and over, and it has almost always been with people who would consider themselves progressives or liberals.
I see a lot of people piling on the guy above, but I have SEEN what he is describing with my son already, and he is only eight. I see both of my kids face weird judgement and criticisms for their gender expressions- we are a pretty queer, fuck the binary type family- but my daughter has been more likely to be encouraged and defended than my son for defying gender stereotypes.
So yes, if you want to fight back against extremism, then it requires kindness. Don't confuse this with "being nice" or coddling. But being openly hostile towards men-as-a-monolith is something that I have seen from people I absolutely did not expect and we have to call that shit out when we see it.
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Based off part one that just got releasedâŚ
Sevika coming home with Jinx and isha because they have no where to stay and sheâs not very happy about it but, you welcome them home with open arms and you guys kinda have a little family dynamic going on
-đ
CUTE
men and minors dni
it's a little awkward when sevika comes tumbling through your front door with two kids in tow... only because you were waiting for her on the couch in lingerie.
sevika gasps, jinx starts to cackle, and the little kid holding onto jinx's back just waves at you, too young to know what they just walked in on.
sevika sprints to your side, an excited glimmer in her eyes as she licks her lips and gets a good look at you, before she covers you up in her poncho. jinx is still laughing in the doorway when you're finally clothed.
"hey, jinx." you greet, rubbing your neck in embarrassment. jinx snorts and waves at you. "w-who's your friend?" you ask, pointing to the kid on her back.
sevika groans next to you, pinching the bridge of her nose in frustration. jinx sighs, but you can see the affection buried just below the surface what she speaks. "tell 'er, kid." she says, nudging the girl.
"h-hi." the baby whispers, waving at you. "'m isha." she says.
you grin, stepping forward to wave back at isha. fuck she's cute, her big gold eyes glimmering with excitement as you approach her. "well, ms. isha. it looks like you got my girls into some trouble." you say.
isha giggles and jinx smirks a bit. you've always had a soft spot for jinx, and lately, it seems like sevika's been feeling the same. if there's one thing sevika knows about it's losing a father figure-- she couldn't stop herself from lending a helping hand to the teen.
so: jinx has been over for a lot of dinners lately, crashing on the couch once or twice a week, using your bath on occasion and, sometimes, coming over just to chat.
"we got inna fight!" isha announces, wiggling a bit on jinx's back. you quickly shoot a glare at sevika and she rolls her eyes.
"you did!? did you win?" you ask. isha nods enthuastically, her little miners' hat clattering to the ground.
"i shot a gun!" she says.
"you what!?" you ask, glaring at jinx and sevika. both of them wear the same exasperated look on their faces, sevika raising her flesh arm in surrender.
"she didn't. she held a gun. stupidly. i told you to stay on the fuckin' balcony." sevika says, glaring at isha. the girl pouts, and jinx clicks her tongue.
"oh please. i heard the stories about you as a kid, sevika." jinx says. "it's not like i was any better." she mumbles.
you sigh and tug jinx into your home, leading her and isha to the couch. "c'mon. the couch is a pull out, i'm sure both of you can fit."
"what!? no-- isha's not-- we're not-- i'm fine!" jinx insists. you and sevika both snort, and jinx grunts and rolls her eyes. "fine, whatever. we'll stay... but only if you make that stir fry shit again." jinx relents, settling isha down on the couch before flopping down on it herself.
isha immediately crawls into jinx's lap, starting to fiddle with her bangs. sevika moves to start helping you in the kitchen, and when jinx thinks there's no one left to see, she leans forward and kisses isha's forehead, smiling softly.
"so... you just gonna keep bringing home strays?" you tease in the kitchen, hip checking sevika as you spark the stove. she groans.
"oh, fuck off. you know you're thrilled to play family."
"'course i am. you're a hot mom babe. what'd jinx call it? a milf?" you ask. sevika snorts despite herself, shaking her head in amusement. "next time you two get into some shit though, you're leaving the kid with me, understand?"
sevika chuckles and kisses your cheek. "whatever you say, mama bear... we should probably start keeping the sexy-clothes limited to the bedroom, too."
you groan and elbow your wife. sevika just cackles.

as the other metroplex writer on this website, I feel you. I understand your pain. I made the call early on to not do the idw 'they can only talk to the cityspeaker' because I knew I would immediately proceed to write myself into a corner lmao. (although I decided against giving him superfine control over his inner mechanisms, which is its own set of challenges)
Good luck, soldier! It's just us out here doing Primus' work
Heâs a fun challenge to write, but I feel for the big guy so much
I Can Feel You Pt 4
IDW Metroplex x Reader
⢠By morning, the glyphs are gone leaving you disappointed and wondering if just maybe youâd imagined it all or dreamed it. If youâd been able to take a picture, you could have asked someone else to read it to you, because if Metroplex is reaching out? You want to answer him. Staring at the spot the writing had appeared doesnât offer any answers. What was it Hound had said? Something about a city speaker? âAre you trying to talk to me?â You ask, but the Titan is quiet and still around you.
⢠Halfway between waking and recharge because of the energy heâd expended trying to focus, to communicate, heâs half alert as he tracks you. Drifting in and out, but aware of you all the same, his little anchor to reality. Sometimes in his dreams heâs closer to your size and when he reaches out a hand, you come to him, let him pull your warmth into his body and just hold you in his arms. But even there, you canât hear him. There, holding you, but still isolated and it hurts. Youâre speaking again and it pulls him into alertness. Focusing on you as you reach out a little hand to Hound as the mech kneels in front of you.
⢠âCity speakers?â Hound repeats, idly toying with one of his alt modeâs tires. âThey could speak to the Titans. Hear them. Donât know if they ever were real, though. Might have been just a legend.â Itâs not exactly what you want to hear and you wrap your arms about yourself. Remembering those glyphs showing up slowly one by one like it was taking the massive Autobot an effort. Like it cost him something to try and it has been for nothing. Whatever he was trying to say lost on you, because you couldnât understand.
⢠âHow hard is it to learn Cybertronian?â You slowly ask and his massive spark aches at the determination in your voice. Because youâre trying for him, trying to find a way to speak to him. Reaching out a hand to him just like heâs reaching out to you. And he wants so much to protect this feeling, to protect you. Throughout the day, he tracks you like he always does. Listening to you telling him you have an idea. Watches you request a human sized data pad from Bumblebee loaded with simple educational programs meant for sparklings.
⢠Back in the little home Metroplex fashioned, you stretch out on the floor with the data pad. Flicking at the screen, searching until you pause. Half drowsing, relaxed at the feel of your little heart beating against him, itâs the touch of your warm fingers that focuses him again. Youâre tracing shapes against him, your bottom lip between your teeth. Hesitating, then drawing again. And again. The same shapes. Youâre spelling out a simple word he realizes, a âhelloâ and now heâs wide awake. âCan you even feel this? Or understand?â You murmur and he focuses, mimicking your crude glyphs with an effort. Replying and feeling warmth spread through him when you grin. Can you understand how much this means to him? How precious you are to him for trying? For caring? âHi, Metroplex,â you whisper as he wishes that his arms could hold you.

MOMMY KNOWS BEST âŁď¸
Chapter 20
Brian awoke with a sopping wet diaper. He started to cry wanting out of the crib. He soon heard the door open as both women walked in. He immediately noticed that both of them were wearing nightgowns. Why would Samantha be wearing one of mommyâs nightgowns? But he was more concerned about his soggy diaper. âOh mommy is here,â Rebecca cooed. âLetâs get you changed out of that icky diaper.â
He laid on the changing table sucking his thumb while she cleaned him up. She decided to leave him in just his diaper for the afternoon. âMe no nakey,â he exclaimed indignantly.
âBabies donât mind at all. Besides, that way mommy can tell when you need changing. Now letâs go snuggle. Mommy and Auntie need to talk to you about something.â
The three walked out into the living room. They sat down on the couch and Rebecca sat him on her lap. âMommy thinks you can be a big boy for a few minutes.â Brian felt his grown-up mind in control again. âFirst off, I want you to know that mommy loves you with all of her heart. I am so happy to be your mommy. Mommy would never leave you. Mommy knows that you love being a baby. But,â she paused. Brian felt apprehensive.
âBut mommy knows that its hard for you to be a big boy now. I need you to know that you cannot be both my baby and my husband. That isnât fair to mommy.â
Brian grew upset and tears began to flow. He got off of her lap and cried out, âIâm not a baby, Iâm not a baby. I can go back to being your husband. We can forget all of this and go back to how it was. Please!â
âBrian, please donât be like this. Iâm not mad or angry at you, but I think you know deep down that you donât want to go back to being a big boy. You are happier as mommyâs baby. Brian this isnât up to you anymore.
Brian sobbed, âPlease let me try being a big boy.â He dropped to his knees begging for her to hear his plea. He felt his bladder release and he peed his diaper.
âBrian, look at me. What did you just do in your diaper? Big boys donât pee themselves. You arenât a big boy. I want you to repeat after me. I am just a baby.â she instructed. He looked down at his swollen diaper. She was absolutely right and he was always going to be her baby. âIâm a baby,â he repeated over and over again.
Something clicked in his brain and he knew exactly who and what he was. He was a baby and she was his mommy. He stuck his thumb in his mouth and decided to show her just how much of a baby he was. With a grunt, he filled the back of his diaper, âMe went poopy mommy.â
âMommy is so proud of you,â Rebecca said. âThere is one more thing you need to know. Auntie Samantha is going to move in with us and help take care of you. I want you to also start calling her mommy.â
Brian was shocked, but knew his old life was over. This was his new world. His only response was that he wanted to nurse. Rebecca placed him laid him on her lap and he started to suckle. He tasted a few drops of milk. As he quietly nursed, Rebecca knew that he would never again object to being a baby again. Maybe it was the effects of the file she had played or maybe his deep-seated desires had completely taken over. Whatever the case, his transformation was complete.

No, actually. That is not an enemy. That is (likely)a severely un/misinformed person. I severely doubt that many people who voted for trump came from a place of hate. They just don't understand. They do not truly get who they voted for and what that means, because if they did truly understand what trump and his campaign plan to do with America, they would not have voted for him. People that vote for trump are fed lies and fiction that lead them to believe that trump will make their lives better regardless of the casualties (aka minorities losing hard earned rights). I am by no means saying that you should keep in contact with people like the "friend" above, but they are not the enemy. They are the byproduct of propaganda that tells them their neighbors and friends will harm them unless Cheeto Voldemort swoops in and strips them of basic human rights. Do you hear me? They are not the enemy. Talking about fellow Americans like that is exactly what trump is doing. It is not your responsibility to explain to your brother's friend Jeff that Kamala Harris isn't going to show up at his door and chop his dick off, but dividing people and turning them against each other is exactly the type of shit that Nazis did. We had a whole ass civil war about that type shit. It is crucial to surround yourself with people who support you and make you feel safe, but calling people evil for being uniformed will only add fuel to the fire we are desperately trying to put out. Still, I am not saying to just quietly accept that someone has harmful beliefs. I would recommend saying something like, "Hey, your choice to support trump essentially says to me that you don't mind it if my rights are taken away. I don't feel comfortable spending time with someone who thinks like that. Goodbye." Something that says 'I don't want to hang out with you if you obviously don't give a fuck about my wellbeing' in a way that doesn't give them a reason to hate whatever minority you may be a part of. It is important that we grow as communities and stay strong, but giving people reasons to support the removal of your rights does anything but help. It lets people go back to their buddies and say 'bro these women are so emotional' or 'gay people are such babies.' I am also not saying you can control how people think and what they say, but if you give them reason to think of you as whichever part of your identity instead of the human being you are, be aware that they can and will take that shit and run. Of course, if the person in question is a parent or close family member, do what keeps you safe. You need to survive over all else. Proving a point isn't worth getting kicked out of your home, and I wouldn't recommend telling a parent off unless you have somewhere safe to go.
Be safe, I love you.
(btw if something I said was incorrect or severely misguided reblog with your own take, or my dms are open. Civilly, tho. I will not respond to childish finger pointing or death threats)

android!john price x human!reader, or in which you seek a human companion after many years of being alone.
+18, smut, mdni, etc.
You were a fidgety mess as you sat in the waiting area of the office. Your eyes continually glance towards the door as you waited for your name to be called.
The office you were waiting in was like a dating service of sorts. It was for people who had trouble connecting with others. So, to help, one could get assigned or "matched" with a android.
The android could be your friend, a guide, ... a lover. Whatever you need, the android will help. And the android also had a choice too. Some seek companionship as humans do. Others are just fascinated by the whole human emotion concept in general.
Whatever it was, both humans and androids wanted to help each other. To better understand or to just not be alone in the world. And it seemed to help.
You were broken out of your thoughts when your name was called. The doctor beckoning to you to the door as you got up and collected your purse.
"Morning, how are you doing today?"
You smiled at the doctor, "I'm good... though, I am curious about the match?"
It was normal to be nervous. Because sometimes there were people who couldn't even match with an android.
The doctor smiled at you, "luckily we found the perfect partner for you."
You cringed at how she said it. You didn't want the android, whoever they were, to feel like they were being forced into a relationship after all.
She stopped in front of a door, "he's in there."
"Do I just go in?"
"That's all there is to it."
"What if he changes his mind about being with me?"
The doctor chuckled softly at you and ushered you forward, forcing you to open the door with her closing it behind you.
You aren't ready for this, you decided. And just as you were about to back out, someone greeted you.
"Morning love, I was wondering when I would get to meet you face to face."
Putting a on a brave face that consisted of a kind smile and easygoing eyes, you turned towards the voice.
âMorning, uhm⌠sorry, she didnât tell me your name.â
âNeither did she tell me yours.â
He stood up from the chair that was situated at the table in the middle of the room, his form was towering. You wondered how he was created in such a way, but quickly stuffed the idea away.
You held out your hand and gave out your name, your eyes holding every anxious thought within them as you hoped you wouldnât embarrass yourself, âyou can call me John.â
He didnât hesitate to reciprocate your gesture, much to your relief. And when his hand fitted into your own, you were taken aback a little by how warm it was. Your surprise caused him to chuckle which, in turn, caused your cheeks to heat up.
âNow love, I know why I am here, but how about you? What are you looking for the moment you set through those doors?â
He was still holding your hand (most likely to track your heart rate) while his eyes were trained on yours. You wondered silently if he even needed to blink.
âI want a partner⌠a romantic one. Someone who I can go on dates with, cuddle with in the evenings, and⌠and be intimate with. Thatâs what I am looking for.â
You barely managed the confidence to say all of that. Though, you couldnât deny that you wanted to shrivel up at every single admitted word that fell from your lips. A whole part of you felt so greedy, so selfish. Maybe this wasnât a good idea-
âGood.â
âG- good?â
He moved his hand to grip at your wrist and gently tugged you forward to where you fell into his chest, âbecause love, thatâs what I was looking for too. It may be hard to believe, but even androids can love.â
You couldnât stop the giggle that fell from your lips, âand I wouldnât doubt that at all.â
âThen, would you allow me to take you out on a date so we could properly get to know each other?â
Deciding to just stop worrying for once, you played along. A giddy smile on your lips as you leaned in, âif you would be so kind to escort me, good sir.â
To say the least, you never made it to your little date.
Instead, you had brought him to your home so you could get ready, though, what ended up in you changing your clothes was him politely knocking on your door to help you out which eventually led into him helping you into bed.
A date could always wait for another day, right?
Sure, you were doing things backwards, but with how John had your legs folded up to your chests, you doubted that he cared.
âAhhh, look at you, love, your cunt is just swallowing me whole.â
He pressed his weight down onto you, his hands gripping your hips harshly as he thrusted into you. His dick plunging and marking your walls, forcing your nerves to remember him. As a steady and hard plap â plap â plap echoed into the room along with your moans and sweet whimpers every time his tip kissed your cervix.
You scratched at his back, your nails digging into his all too real skin as you tried to thrust your hips back into him, desperate for him to go deeper, harder. Removing one of his hands from your hips, he moved his fingers down to your dripping cunt, with precise and careful movements, he started to gently rub at your clit. The way you moaned so loud for him as that thread snapped within you. Your walls clenching hard around him as you came around his hard length. The mere feel of you squeezing his cock had him gushing. His cum that filled you may match the white color of a human manâs but was otherwise just harmless warm fluid created and stored, only to be used in such situations as these.
And to say the least, you were his first partner who let him cum inside, and as he watched you try to catch your breath, he finally released your legs from the mean mating press he had you in. And before he could pull out of you, you had already locked your legs around his waist.
âAgain?â
You were breathless, but craved for more. To match with someone like you.. he was truly lucky.
âOnly if youâll ride me this time,â he said flipping you both over so he was now on his back and you were straddling his waist, his cock stiff snuggly inside you.
âWith pleasure, and then maybe we can go out on that date later?â
âWhatever you want and more, love. Iâm all yours, just as youâre mine.â

A potentially (even more) angsty prompt:
A couple month after the breakup (and Buck moping around), the 118 is called to a crashed Harbor helicopter.
Or alternatively, Buck is not on shift and Chim calls Buck that Tommy is in the hospital via a helicopter crash (the rest of the 118 rescued him). A la Chim's Henren matchmaking.
Whatever level of injury you wish for either is good!
(for the purposes of this ficlet, their breakup is NOT the 8x06 version, just one where Tommy is like "we're moving too fast, I need some time" and they agree to give it a pause, and it still sucks but they're not exes)
---
"So... Have you two patched up yet?" Eddie broaches the subject cautiously. It's a fifty-fifty chance that Buck will be willing to share or snap his head off.
"I asked him out for a drink," Buck says, eyes on his book (Slow Productivity, which seems kinda strange for a guy working as a firefighter). "He said he'll take a raincheck." He sounds emotionless, which means he's sort of upset but not overly so.
Which makes sense, since Tommy and Buck did have a Not-A-Date brunch to catch up two weeks ago. Eddie was there, too, desperate wishing he had an excuse not to be, so that the two yearning idiots would just get back together.
Eddie's about to say more when the alarm goes and Bobby hustles everyone onto their engines. Curiously, Bobby sits in the back, telling Hen to take his usual seat.
"What do we got, Cap?" Chimney asks, snapping his gum. It's a new habit - the man is stressed about a second child. The sirens scream to life and they're off.
Bobby puts a hand on Buck's shoulder. "Airlift gone wrong. A chopper went down while delivering a heart to First Presbyterian."
Eddie sees the younger man go still. Buck won't ask, so Eddie bites the bullet. "It's Tommy?"
Before he answers, Bobby tightens his grip on Buck. "It's Tommy."
--
The good news is that the chopper hadn't gained much altitude when it crashed. The better news is that its cargo, a heart ready for transplant, is still intact, so it's quickly rushed off to the hospital in an ambulance.
The bad news is, it was Tommy piloting.
The worst news is, he needs blood. A lot of blood. Hen and Chimney are packing the wounds and stabilizing what they can and Bobby is calling Dispatch to relay messages for a transfusion.
"Blood type, B-pos, no known allergies," Buck rattles off to Bobby and Hen, helping to lift Tommy, collared and strapped on a backboard, onto the gurney. His jaw is tight and his hands are steady. "His emergency contact is..."
He falters as Tommy is wheeled into the ambulance.
Eddie shoves him. "Get in there." When Buck turns to look at him, eyes wide, Eddie pushes him again. "Get in there. You're his emergency contact as far as we know, so go. Tommy won't survive your delay."
That spurs Buck into moving with alacrity. The ambulance pulls out, sirens screaming, and Eddie feels his heart pounding in his mouth.
Then he feels Bobby standing beside him. "They haven't patched up?"
"They're idiots," Eddie says with heartfelt vehemence.
Bobby sighs.
--
Eddie goes to the hospital three hours later, after the shift. Buck is still in his uniform, so Eddie passes him his duffel and shoos him off to change.
"What news?" Eddie asks when Buck joins him again.
"They've stopped the bleeding," Buck says, closing his eyes. "Now they need to work on the impalement."
Eddie sits next to his best friend. He doesn't speak.
"I'm done," Buck says suddenly, sounding like he's gargled gravel. "I'm done. When he wakes up, I'm gonna... I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I am not doing this stupid 'pause button' shit any longer."
Oh thank God. Eddie can stop feeling like he's a child caught between divorced parents.
Then, because he is and always has been a realist, he asks, "What if he doesn't wanna press the play button?"
Buck looks a little sick. He clenches his jaw and shakes his head. "Then we want different things out of this. And I'd rather it hurt all at once now than later." His eyes look shockingly blue against the paleness of his face.
Eddie pats his friend's knee, and leans back to grab some shut-eye.
--
Eddie takes on the bulk of Buck-sitting duties for the next four days, spelled by Bobby. (Buck takes time off. No one begrudges it.) Maddie manages to get Buck to go home to shower but she can't make him sleep in his own bed.
Convenient that Tommy crashed just before our off days, Eddie thinks, a little bitchily, the day he comes back after a shift.
Man broke Buck's heart. Eddie figures he's due a little bitchiness.
It takes five false alarms before Tommy is truly awake and alert enough to register Buck and Eddie are there.
The heart rate monitor beeps a little more urgently.
"I'm here, honey," Buck murmurs, taking Tommy's hand immediately and squeezing it. "Relax, okay? Docs and nurses gonna look at you for a bit first."
Tommy blinks, and on his horribly pale and scruffy face is a ghost of a relieved smile. He can't talk, but his mouth forms something that sounds suspiciously like "eh en", or "Evan", and Buck smiles so brightly that he probably powered the machines with its intensity.
Eddie feels the ground under his feet right itself as the doctor and nurses take over. Yeah, that pause button is going away. He sends a message to the group chat.
Hen replies, Bets on when they move in together. $5 min.

Wake up call
pt. 1
a/n: I'm not going to follow the series episode by episode, as I already mentioned. This story will focus primarily on the three witches' story, so I'll probably jump forward and back in time at my own discretion from now on. If you're curious about something in particular, feel free to tell me in the comments. Would you prefer that I go back or forward from now on? (also, sorry for eventual typos or mistakes).
pt. 2
Agatha looked as surprised as you for a moment. The boy was on his knees, squirming uncomfortably at the rope around his wrists and ankles. He said something, his voice sounded muffled through the duct tape.
âOh, uhm.. well, I may have accidentally kidnapped him.âÂ
You blinked in disbelief, âHow can you accidentally kidnap someone?â
The kid muttered something else you couldnât quite comprehend. You thought it was his way to agree with you, so you grinned, whereas Agatha groaned in annoyance. As the boy persisted, you realized what he really wanted from you.Â
âOhââ, you mouthed a quick apology, lips stretching in an awkward smile as you took the tape off his mouth with a quick puck. He winced, but then muttered a âthanksâ to you. Had he been locked in there the whole night? Instead of that, you asked a different question, âyou alright?â, twirling your finger, you made him turn around to untie the rope around his wrists and ankles.Â
He sighed and gave you a grateful smile once free, âmuch better.â
Your lips pressed into a thin line, not really sure about what else was to say, despite having tons of questions. There couldnât be a moment worse than this to have to deal with a kid.Â
âAgatha, love, care to explain?âÂ
Your lover paid no attention, or rather she feigned to be distracted doing practically nothing more than walking up and down the house, as she mentally freaked out due to the last events.Â
âThereâs nothing to explainââ, she waved dismissively, âFor all I care he can keep the house.âÂ
The boy frowned and quite frankly so did you. You walked up to her, confusion written all over your features, âAgatha, what in heaven are you talking about?âÂ
The boy followed behind in silence.
When she suddenly spun around, Agatha was so close, you almost stumbled backwards. âDid you listen to Rioâs words or not?â There was a hint of frustration in her tone, quite relatable in fact, and yet...
Your head lolled to the side, âso your plan is to leave?â
âGlad youâre catching up," she grinned cheekily.Â
With no magic at her disposal, she had no intention of facing the Salem Seven, and even less letting you anywhere near them to save her life. So running was the best and only option she could think of at the moment; that hopefully would give her enough time to figure out a way to restore her magic and be a witch again.
You ran a hand through your hair, eyes glancing only briefly over the boy, who gave you a tight smile in return. A part of you wondered what he was doing still there. Didn't he have places to be, like school or whatever?Â
Before Agatha could walk from you again, you reached out to grab her wrist, âSo, this is what we will do,â you started, silently enjoying the whiny sound slipping from her lips, âwe sit down, talk it out like mature adults, and youââ pointing a finger at the boy, âyouâre gonna tell me why you broke into our house in the first place.â
âUhm.. yeah, I..â
âWe donât have time for this!â Agatha exclaimed, âNeed I remind you thereâs a price on our heads?âÂ
A playful smirk tugged at your lips and unable to resist teasing her, you quipped, âtechnically itâs on yours. I only happen to be in your shit as per usual.âÂ
The boy let out a quiet chuckle, that you were about to reciprocate hadn't it been for Agathaâs hand flapping at the nape of your neck, âOof!" you whined.Â
Amusement glimmered in her eyes, âYou had it coming,â she retorted. Then she glanced over the boy, with a grimace. âNot to be rude or anything, but weâve got a lot on our plate so if you could justââ She pointed to where the front door used to be, her confidence dimming slightly, âthis house is a complete disaster.â
She looked so annoyed right now, tired and scared even, but the latter she would never admit. Completely forgetting about the boy, you focused on Agatha and placed a hand over the small of her back, âitâs not so badâŚâ you trailed off, resting your chin on her shoulder. She knew you weren't only referring to the conditions of the house. Her eyes fell shut for a moment, her features relaxed when you started stroking her skin, lips barely brushing against a soft spot behind her ear, âwe have an excuse to redecorate now.â
Despite everything, Agatha let out a small chuckle. She turned around and draped an arm around your waist. With everything that happened in such a short time, she hadnât given herself a moment to truly cherish the fact that you were backâthe real you. Sure, even without your memories, you stood by Agathaâs side all those years, but having you here now, like in the old days, felt different. It was different. Her eyes darted from your face to your collarbone, nose scrunching up at the sight of the nasty bluish bruiseâ a reminder of Rioâs hands on you. Her hand glided up to your face, tracing your jawline before slowly moving down to your collarbone, fingers barely grazing your skin, mindful that it was still tender and possibly sore.Â
âAre youâ?âÂ
Your eyes softened at the hesitation in her voice, âyou shouldnât worry about that.â
âI always worry about what matters," she argued back.Â
"Sappy," you teased.
With an eye roll, she smirked, "brat."
When her eyes darted towards the boy once again, she let out an incredulous scoff, âyou better have a darn good reason to still be dangling here.âÂ
Color drained from his face. Quite frankly, Agatha could be intimidating when she tried. Even when she didn't. âI-I do!â He cleared his throat. âI want to walk the Witches' Road. Itâs the only reason why I broke in here really andââ he was talking so fast, for a moment you thought your mind had tricked you. There was no way he said the words âwitchesâ and âroadâ in the same sentence.Â
Agatha's eyes snapped wide open, âwhatâs that you say?â
âThe Witchesâ Road,â he repeated, slower and firmly. It hit you hard. You couldn't help it. âI want you to take me there,â his eyes softened and so did his voice as he added, âplease.â
Agatha tried to meet your eyes then, but you had your gaze dropped to the floor.Â
âThe Witchesâ Road doesnât exist.â
âYouâre lying,â he argued.Â
Agatha scoffed bitterly, âam I?â, voice rising in exasperation.Â
When you slowly lifted your chin towards the boy, you squint your eyes so much as if you were troubled by a sudden headache, âYouâre asking for a death wish here.âÂ
Agatha agreed, âquite literally.âÂ
The boy looked crestfallen, but he didnât back down, âYou only say that because you think Iâm inexperienced, which is fair. I am. But I can make it to the end-âÂ
Your lips pursed in a grimace as you tried to make sense of everything that was happening. First Rio, then the Salem Seven on your heels, and now this boy who had no idea what he was asking for.
âLook, I love your confidenceâ but the Road is no place for a kid.â
Agatha sank into the couch in the lounge, curling a finger at you in invitation. Smiling, you obliged, perching yourself on the armrest beside her. You were close enough that her hand could slip to rest on your thigh, her fingers tracing soft, lazy patterns over the fabric of your pants. The gentle rhythm of her touch soothed you, and you allowed yourself to calm your nerves, focusing on her proximity and nothing else.Â
âIâm sixteen,â he objected, taking a seat onto the chair across from you.Â
âOh, why didnât you say that before? That changes⌠nothing.â
You had to stifle a laugh at her sarcastic remark.Â
He gave a dramatic eye roll. âCome on! You walked it before and survived!âÂ
Your brows knit in a frown. Just how much did that boy actually understand about you and Agatha? Or rather, how much did he think he understood? No one truly knew what it had been like for the two of you back in the eighteenth century. People clung to their own assumptions, and you let themâafter all, the real truth was far too painful to share. Not a single soul knew the true story behind the reputation Agatha had built, nor the reasons why so many had to die in the first place.Â
Agathaâs hand stilled on your thigh, âI had a very good reason to stay alive, plus Iâm exceptional.â
It wasnât a lie, not completely at least.Â
The boyâs eyes shifted from Agathaâs to yours. You felt as if he knew what Agatha was talking about you. You saw something, a glimpse of understanding in those eyes that somehow unsettled you. If Agatha was known as âwitch killerâ for all the wrong reasons, your reputation also preceded you, but you struggled to say the words.Â
âI read an egregious amount about you two. Iâve been obsessed since I first came up with your Salem days⌠the way you two met, and oh my God- donât get me started on your magic skills.â
So you and Agatha had a little fan.Â
Agathaâs interest rose considerably. She grinned, âcute. Isn't he a cute pet?âÂ
âHonestly, Iâm not sure whether to be flattered or freaked out by all this interest,â you mused.
The boy completely ignored the fact that Agatha just called him pet. âSorry, I justâ youâre a necromancer witch!â He was now struggling to keep a posed tone of voice, and you found yourself scratching the back of your head, not really used to being praised by your gift/curse. Quite the opposite in fact. âGuilty as charged,â you quipped.
Agathaâs hand moved towards your knee, thumb brushing in a soothing circle there. You smiled inwardly at the gesture.
âBooks say witches your kind is so rare, powerful andââ
âharrowed, banished, burned at the stake?â You cut him off in a sing-song tone.Â
Agatha snorted, âyou name it.â
She knew better than anyone what it felt like to be brushed aside. It was one of the reasons why she could bond with you so easily and so quickly. You understood her before she could even attempt to comprehend the complexity about herself and her power.Â
Teen blinked confusedly, âI was gonna say interesting.â
You clasped your hands together and took a deep breath. âLook, we appreciate your enthusiasm. You seem like a really smart boy, and Iâm sure youâre destined for great things, but we canât help you, not with that-âÂ
âBut I saved Agatha from the spellâŚâ his smile turned into a frown and his features dimmed as a consequence, âIâd have come to you too if she hadnât locked me up in the closet. But w-wait,â he suddenly came to a halt, eyebrows knitting in a frown as a new question popped up in his mind. âHow did you wake up from the hex?â
Agatha knew, but said nothing, leaving the explanations to you.
âItâs hard to explainââ Being a necromancer allowed you to have all sorts of⌠vibes. Plus your soul was connected to Agathaâs and her life being threatened by somethingâ or rather someone you knew quite well worked as a wake up bell for you, âitâs like a sixth sense, but better. I can always feel when Agatha needs me. I got a pull into reality the moment Rio broke into the house with the purpose of harming her. I felt her aura. She and Iâ letâs just say our magic works like opposite poles of a magnet.â
Agathaâs features hardened a bit, as she nibbled on the inside of her cheek out of nervousness. Your magic being complementary to Rioâs had caused you more problems than anything else. She almost lost you to her, and thatâs something she would probably never forget.Â
The boy hummed in thought. He was clearly intrigued by your magic and took a mental note to ask you more questions at the first next opportunity, considering he left his notebook in the car.
âAnd whoâs Rio? I didnât hear much butâ there seemed to be a historyââ
âTrouble.â
âA bitch.â
Both you and Agatha said in unison.Â
âWe donât really need to talk about her nowâŚâ you kept vague, hoping he would catch the silent message passing through your eyes. Talking about her was never easy, not when your feelings for her were so tangled and conflicting. Youâd be lying if you said you didnât love her anymore, cause you still did. And Agatha... well, she probably did too, however, she would never admit it, not to you and even less to herself. The past clung like a shadow, and neither of you could ever truly forget. The ache of Rio's choices lingered, buried deep, a silent reminder of what your bond once was and could never be again.Â
He pressed his lips together and gave you a slow nod of his head in return.Â
âIâm curious,â she smacked her lips, your head turned towards her, as she continued, âIf youâve got the goods to break a spell cast by the Scarlet Witch, why do you need the Road?â
Your eyes widened in shock. Was she really considering this?
âThe Road promises that what youâre looking for awaits at its end. I need to walk the road so I can figure out the extent of my power..â he explained and she hummed, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. âDonât you need power yourself?â
Agathaâs back stiffened, âI most certainly do, yes.â
âShe doesnât need to walk the Witches' Road for that,â you pointed out, glancing at the purple witch with the corner of your eyes.Â
The boy was confused. Without giving him too much information, you simply told him that you could share your magic. And, in a way, it was true. A more accurate version would have been explaining that Agatha could kill a witch by absorbing all her power, leaving nothing behind but dust. But that was far too dramatic, plus you were still one hundred percent sure she couldnât and wouldnât harm you in any way.
She let out a long, exhausted sigh at your insistence, âFor the umpteenth time, Iâm not taking your magicââÂ
âUgh!" You groaned. "Aggs, Rio warned usââ
âShe mentioned the Salem Seven, didnât she?â The boy cut you off. âIâm sorry but y-youâve got zero chances against them without magic, Agatha.âÂ
She shot him an icy glare, âThank you for stating the obvious.â
Your lips trembled a bit, as you struggled to hold back an amused grin.
âIâm just trying to understand which alternatives you have,â he muttered defensively.Â
Agatha opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Nothing that she could use to hush both you and the kid.Â
âHeâs got a point, you know. You need my magic, like right now.âÂ
Once again, she ignored you. âOr maybe, we need to walk the Witches' Road one last time.â
The boyâs mouth parted ajar, âReally?â
âReally?â You echoed in a squeak.Â
She simply nodded her head, giving you an innocent smile that only fueled your incredulity. You let out a quiet, bitter chuckle right after, at the same time shaking your head in disbelief.Â
âAgatha, sweetheart, a word?âÂ
You held out your hand for her to take, and just like she did a moment ago, you forced a serene, tranquil smileâone that didnât quite reach your eyes but would have fooled anyone who didnât know you better. She took your hand, her fingers curling around yours as she let you lead her toward the kitchen. Once you were far enough from the boy to speak more privately, you locked eyes with Agatha. Your face was practically shouting, âWhat the hell?!â âa silent message that she heard loud and clear, without a single word spoken.
âThe Road doesnât exist! Whatâs your plan?âÂ
âWe are the only ones aware of that,â she stated matter of factly as if that could be used as a great advantage. âTeen is right, without my magic, I canât defend myself against the Salem Seven, I canât protect myself or you.âÂ
If this wasnât handled carefully, it could spiral into something much worse. You knew, better than anyone, how deeply it hurt Agatha to feel powerless, especially when it came to protecting those she loved. She had faced this agony with Nicky, and now, here she was again, reliving the same fear, this time, for you. Her own life, in that moment, felt like nothing compared to yours. Because without you in it, there was no existence worth living for her.Â
âYou could,â you insisted, in a low, almost pleading tone. âif only you took my powerââ It was so easy.
âIâm not willing to take any risks with you,â she stepped into your bubble, her hands tightening around your shoulders, in a possessive and yet still attentive way. She wanted you to understand. She needed you to be on her side on this. âI need to make sure I've got control over my thirst first. It's been so long since the last time I did that so I'm sorry but youâll not be the lab rat for it.â
âAre you really thinking of using the boy?âÂ
Agathaâs mouth dropped open, âOh no, my God- no! Iâm not talking about Teen, you idiot!âÂ
You crossed your arms over your chest and gave her a defiant look.
She gave in after a bunch of seconds, âOkay, maybe I did think of him for a minute. He did break the Scarlet Witchâs hex, though."Â
You pinched the bridge of your nose at that.
âBut we still need to âwalkâ the Witches Road, except that this time, we arenât killing anyone,â youâre ready to argue back again, but she didnât let you, so you bit your bottom lip instead, trying really trying to find the silver lining at the end of this plan. âHereâs what we will do: we gather a coven, make some female friends, sing the Ballad, it doesnât work, wowie-!, I call them names, they get angry and blast me. I take their magic and stop right before they turn into dust.â
She paused and took into your eyes, letting you assimilate her words, hopeful youâd find her idea good enough, because there was really no time for anything else.Â
âSo, to recapâ,â you cleared your throat, âyouâre willing to lie to that kid, to the poor witches weâll meet along the way, witches whoâll eventually turn against us once they learn our intentions, but youâre not willing to take my magic thatâs literally within armâs length because youâre scared youâll kill me.âÂ
She hummed, feeling quite satisfied with your summary, âyep.â
A slow smirk spread across your lips, âYouâre crazy.â
âMaybe," she conceded. "But this planâs gonna work.â Agatha shifted closer, her hands sliding to your hips, her fingers pressing into your skin with a slight possessive touch.Â
Your gaze fell to where her hands rested and for a moment, there was silence.Â
Time ticked. She waited.Â
âFine. Oh my God- fineââÂ
Before you could say anything else, she pulled you into a crashing hug. Your pout quickly turned into an amused smile, and finally into a fit of giggles when her lips began peppering kisses all over your face.Â
âAtta girl!â She said with a proud grin, to which you responded with a snort.Â
Youâd be pissed, though, if by the end of the day, youâd be forced to resurrect a bunch of witches. But you kept quiet about that.

He shrugs. Everyone dies sometime. On the other hand, knowing that doesnât make it easier to go through. âIâm not going to die. I was being a smartass. I have to take care of my sisters, so itâs not really an option.â Sort of. His sisters are old enough to take care of themselves, but he checks in on them. He tries to be there. He hopes theyâd tell him if they had problems they couldnât handle.Â
Ichigo snorts too and tosses Shiro a glance. âMaybe someday Iâll write a book, when Iâm too old to run around doing peopleâs dirty work for them.â If he makes it that long. But he smirks. âYou need to help people understand you now. Forget in three hundred years.â Shiro is so different from everyone else Ichigo knows. But heâs also a lot like Ichigo in just enough ways Ichigo canât help but be drawn to him. Ichigo shakes his head, amused.Â
He chuckles when Shiro calls him a shit, but itâs more air than sound. âYeah.â He can agree with that. âItâs good for you. You donât need a bunch of guys saying yes all the time.âÂ
âThatâs not a fair question. There are too many answers. No, I donât think you should go, but that doesnât mean I donât want you there. I want to know youâre safe.â Heâs used to working with people. He doesnât do every job alone and heâs flexible. But he absolutely was told to do this job discreetly. Taking Shiro isnât discreet. Ichigo wouldnât even worry about meeting his buyerâs expectations if doing this job for his dadâs sake wasnât such a priority. âSince youâre asking what I think, I think you should find a safe house to lay low and run things from there until you find enough loyal guys to watch your back.â He sighs. âAnd before you say it, I know you wonât trust them. But you can pay them enough to make it worth their while to keep you alive.â He frowns. âBecause Iâm not trying to mess up what you have going on. He might be a plant or be in with everyone else trying to kill you, but he might not.â And Ichigo is going to be gone sooner or later. Itâd be nice to know Shiro had someone that caredâ assuming Shiroâs cop isnât into backstabbing. Even if this asshole is fine with Shiro using whatever heâs using. Which kind of pisses Ichigo off. âWhat does he think about all your habits?â
Itâs not until heâs getting in the car that he realizes how tame it is. He glances around, taking in the leather and feeling like maybe Shiro picked someone elseâs car. âSo⌠this is mild.â
He's expecting Ichigo to turn this into a You're Not Going To Die conversation, but instead it circles into maybe Ichigo dying instead. It drops a stone into his guts. Maybe he shouldn't be allowing Ichigo to get himself involved. Maybe he should be trying harder to push Ichigo away, so he stays out of it, out of harm. On the other side of things; Ichigo's very profession puts him in danger and if Shiro's not selfishly taking up his time now he might not get to later if Ichigo gets himself killed. "You better not." He doesn't even know what he'd do, but it wouldn't be good.
He snorts at the mild offense Ichigo takes at his description of Ichigo's day job. "No, you're right, that is pretty cool. You gonna write a book, then? So in three hundred years some stranger you can't comprehend right now can perceive you? Maybe I need to write a book." He's not going to write a book. That's way too much sitting still for his brain to tolerate. His brows go up a little bit. "Yes I have been and I have no regrets and no intentions of stopping now."
The fact Ichigo wants to go shopping with him at all is a little surprising, but not because he seriously thinks Ichigo judges his fashion sense. Just more the spending time together thing. It's been startling easy to fall into a comfortable companionship again. And sure, they're side stepping and ignoring some really big things, but the company is still easy. "I knew that. You're just being a shit." He's not great at tolerating that.
His attention corners when he feels like Ichigo's looking at him. He shrugs a noncommittal shoulder. "I get it. This isn't the best place to be right now anyway." It's too hard to defend, too hard to properly monitor and barricade. He's not dumb. "Do you actually want me going on that job?" He made a bit of a fuss about it, but he doesn't need invited out of pity. He can entertain himself. He's just scared that if they part now, it'll be the last time they see each other. He shakes his head. "No, I wouldn't. Why do you seem like you're trying to push for that? I would'a said that's what I wanted if that's what I wanted. I have no trouble speakin' my mind."
For a second, while he watches Ichigo look over his car, he wonders what they'll do if it's rigged. Call in Ichigo's team, he supposes. But Ichigo slides out from under the SUV and gives him the go ahead. He turns to a lockbox on the wall and punches in a code, then pulls the keys off a hook and closes the box again. He uses the remove to unlock it as he walks toward the vehicle.

I can't keep doing this to myself...
My brain spit out an idea at me that I don't want to lose so you get to suffer with me under the weight of this idea until I have the time space energy ADHD hyperfocus to start on it.
This is not edited. Goal is to get the thought out of my head, not to make it perfect.
So imagine for me if you will that in some version of the stories for whatever reason I can bullshit into making sense Simon is selected to undergo a new and experimental form of trauma therapy. Used she/her here but when I write it pronouns will be you/yours
He hates it but orders are orders and after losing Johnny (his best mate, his lover, the other half of his soul) he would do just about anything to crawl from under the weight of the grief and guilt. Accepting the assignment means being put under sedation regularly for anywhere from six months to a year. During the sedation your active mind will remian awake and will begin to interact with a simulation that will help deal with the traumas exisiting in his body and mind.
Simon, not 100% on board, accepts the assignment but when he wakes up in some of his worst memorires ignores the woman following him from scene to scene, offering help. Every time he cowers as a child she offers a hand. Each time he bites back the fear flooding his system on a battlefield she offers to take the bullet instead.
For months he ignores her, trying to defeat his demons on his own. This was his mind and his body dammit, he could do this.
She stops offering help but doesn't leave. Trailing behind him in his memories Simon always finds flowers strewn in his footsteps. He never bothered to learn her name. When her laughter starts to haunt his dreams he watches her instead of his memories.
Whoever had programed this simulation had taken great care in creating a realistic interaction point. She makes ugly faces before she sneezes in the barns he has hid in, always complains about hayfever. Her ring finger on her right had been broken before, he can tell from the slight bend between the second and third knuckle. Every time he entered the simulation she wore something different, sometimes tugging on pants as if they wouldn't stay up.
"What should I call you?"
"Mmm?" She looks up from a book she had pulled down from a shelf in a dilapidated kitchen. "Oh, I'm not real so you can call me whatever you want."
He stared at her, frustrations mounting.
"Back to the silent treatment? Okay, this recipe looks actually really yummy," she turns to look back to the book.
Simon stalks up and snatches it from her hands. There is actually handwritten recipes. For some reason this makes Simon's rage double. How? How could this be real? He never opened a book in this kitchen. All that happened here was patching his wounds while waiting for exfil.
Their pattern continues like that until his brain finally spits out Johnny's death. He had been so, so careful to never let that memory come up. When it does Simon is so blindsided that when she offers to help he finally accepts.
Not knowing what to expect from this interaction did not prevent Simon from being surprised at how she handled it. She started to hum as she froze the memory, touching and moving pieces and people until everything had rewound a few moments.
"You have to sit it in, this pain. Talk to him. Tell him everything you didn't get a chance to. The longer you can sit in the agony the sooner it will find peace." She takes him by the hand and pulls him to his love.
Simon cries, like the young boy who needed safety and only found hate or indifference. Through blubbering sobs he tells Johnny every word he regretted hording. When Johnny hugs him back, mouth moving and voice saying things Simon had only dreamed of he found a semblenece of peace.
When his heartrate returns to normal and the only proof this interaction happened is the hollow space in his chest where Johnny will continue to exist his compaion steps back from Johnny, appearing as if from the dust.
"I think that is enough today. You did good." Turning on her heel she walks away, disappearing into the folds between memories.
Simon had never seen her leave before, he always ended the sessions before she had a chance.
He lets her help then, this nameless woman. They conquer every memory and the vaguest notions of memories that bother him. This intensive work paired with his weekly therapy leaves his with the skills to deal with the nightmares, the PTSD, and the trauma that still manifests from time to time.
Can one fall in love with a figment of imagintion? Simon thinks he might have. The final session he confesses, brushing his lips against hers as she sobs.
"But I'm not real. Simon, you can't love me I'm not real."
"Johnny's not real either anymore. I still love him. I'll keep you in my bones next to him, both of you keeping me safe."
She runs then, between memories and fears until she disappears and ends the sesion.
Simon, upon requesting more sessions, is informed that he has completed the program and all his care is being turned over to the non-intensive team that his therapist is a part of. Oh she shouldn't have argued with him or cut off their sessions. Now he knows she is real, the woman the knocked around his brain and fought back the demons for him.
Now all he had to do? Find her.
For anything I am currently working on check out my masterlist. This is getting dropped into my drabbles for later.
