My Secret Mate - Chapter Three
My body was warm all over. I squeezed them tighter to me, savoring the feeling it gave me to feel them against me. It was peaceful, and exciting at the same time. I groggily opened my eyes as I smelled something too delectable that caused a stir in my loins. My breath hitched, seeing his neck right against my lips. His scent was so amazing to me. I could feel my inner wolf stir, Mate. Mark him. He's ready, he's here. Just for us.
Mate or not, he's not our property. He should choose when to be marked, and when to take the next step in being mated. Calm down, Sirius. I took a deep breath, trying to soothe myself back into sleep. But I was suddenly aware of everything about Seth's body pressed into mine, so I got up. I regretted it the minute I got up, because the cold replacing him was blunt.
I ran a hand through my hair, and suddenly winced at the small headache that I felt in the back of my head. It wasn't that bad. As a werewolf, I had supernatural healing and it would go away very soon, which was also why I wasn't that drunk last night. But when Seth woke up, it would probably hurt him a lot more. I could feel Sirius frown at the idea of him in pain.
Protect him, help him. Help mate. I agreed, and walked downstairs. I was surprised to see the house wasn't that much of a mess. I walked into the living room to see Monsè picking up some cups here and there, and I could hear Lance cleaning in the kitchen.
"Hey, what happened after I went to bed?"
She gave me a hesitant face, almost as if contemplating what to say. "Well, Trent got super drunk and came onto Lindsay, which got him a painful shove. Then Bella got super sad and tried to get me to help her look for you, but then I saw you with... that guy."
My eyes widened, "Oh. Yeah, um, he's... wait, what exactly did you see?"
Her face reddened, looking away. "Well, I saw you guys kissing, and I immediately closed the door."
I blushed, feeling embarrassed about her seeing me that way. "Um, well. Did Bella see-"
"Are you gay?" Her question knocked me off balance, and I considered it for a second. Was I? I certainly wasn't attracted to anyone else anymore, but I still could appreciate women's bodies, as well as appreciate men's.
I shrugged, looking forwards the floor, "I think I'm bisexual. I don't know, everyone always assumes straight is the default. I guess, I assumed that too. But when I think about it... men can be attractive to me too."
I looked up to her nodding and going back to cleaning, and raised an eyebrow. "You don't care?"
She rolled her eyes, "Why should I? I only asked because I was curious why you'd make out with some random guy instead of Bella. And even though we're supposed to be super social as werewolves or whatever, you're not always one to go out of your comfort zone-"
"He's my mate."
She looked at me like a deer caught in headlights, showing how the new information was shocking. But then her face went back to its neutral expression, "Oh. That makes sense." Then her eyes widened, "Wait. Your mate's human?"
I nodded, "Yeah."
She winced, "Oof. I wouldn't wanna be you."
I frowned, a growl building up in my throat. "My mate is perfect for me, human or not."
She shook her head, "That's not what I meant. You're gonna have to mark him, and then that'll turn him, and make him go into heat if he hasn’t already. That's a lot of pain to go through for the both of you, especially the turning part."
This piece of information hit me like a ton of bricks. I remembered the first time I heard about it from the other wolves' gossip, about how one of the human mates had been going through the change and was in so much pain. I guess I was too confident about having a werewolf mate, that I forgot about what it meant to have a human mate.
I tried not to think about it as I went to the kitchen to get two cups of water. Lance raised an eyebrow at me as I entered, "So, your mate's a human guy?"
I hesitated, wondering where this was going. "Yeah, last time I checked."
"That's cool. So, he likes you back and everything. I mean, you guys kissed so that must mean he likes you."
I nodded, feeling a little sheepish. "Well, I hope so. We did talk a lot too so..."
He huffed, "Okay. Well, I have a friend..."
I tried to restrain my grin, and he rolled his eyes at me. "It's not me."
I withheld my laugh, feigning that I believed him as I nodded for him to continue.
"And this friend... he kissed his friend, a guy. But now his friend has been ignoring him... and my friend doesn't know why. I think it's cause my friend usually plays around a lot with girls, but maybe his friend doesn't like him the same way?"
I thought for a second, thinking how complicated it must be for him and Keith. "Sounds complicated. Maybe they should have a deep talk? Get everything off their chests."
Lance nodded, going back to washing the dishes while lost in thought. I filled two glasses with water before going back upstairs. I walked back into my room to see Seth on the phone, and I handed him his glass of water.
He looked up, his face still looking amazing with exhaustion tracing his features. His blush was entertaining to see, and I grinned.
"Mornin', beautiful."
He shook his head slightly as he drank his water, groaning. "That alcohol hit me hard."
I shrugged, "You weren't exactly super drunk, though."
"I don't get crazy, or anything. But the hangover is regrettable..."
"Oh." I went over to my bathroom, getting him some Tylenol from my mirror's cabinet. I walked over, feeling glad to be able to help his headache. "Here. It'll help."
Seth nodded, drinking the tablet down with water. I went over to my bedside table, grabbing my phone and checking the time. It was already ten in the morning, which was pretty late considering I woke up extra early everyday for school. "Any plans for today?"
He shook his head, "Not really, it is a Saturday. I was planning to stay at home and watch Netflix for the majority of it. Luckily, my mom's away on business, so she can't freak out about me being away last night."
"But your curfew-"
"I was just supposed to call her when I got home.”
"That's good, I guess. Wanna stay for breakfast?" I went to my closet, taking off my clothes from last night.
"Ye-Yeah. I don't really have much else to do..."
I pulled on some black joggers and a white tee. I pulled off my earrings, necklaces, and rings on my small jewelry stand. I glanced in the mirror, hoping my appearance was okay. I suddenly heard a loud heartbeat, and I looked over to see Seth's reddened face and wide eyes that were scanning me up and down.
I couldn't help the pride that came over myself when I saw the effect I had on him, "You okay?
He nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah. Um, I just couldn't help but notice you have a lot of defined... structure in your body."
I shrugged with a coy smile, sitting on the bed next to him, "I guess it's the genes."
"Mm." He bit his lip, and shook his head. "So, about last night-"
Monsè burst through the door, "MOM'S ALMOST HOME!" She ran over to me and Seth, dragging us by the hand to the living room. "YOU GUYS ARE HELPING!"
I nodded with a small gulp, suddenly remembering how much Monsè could be as scary as Mom sometimes. Seth got a broom out as I picked up the bigger pieces of trash on the floor, and when we were done with that, we cleaned the furniture for stains and crumbs of food. Monsè tidied up and re-arranged everything back to how it was, like the decor in the living room and the kitchen, as well as the photos in the hallway. Lance and I placed the audio and lights system in the garage, deciding it'd go there until Lindsay would come pick it up. I fell on the couch, sighing in exhaustion after an hour of cleaning. I could hear Seth and Monsè in the kitchen, making small talk as they both cooked breakfast. Lance sat beside me, "So does sex with a guy feel better than when it's with a girl?"
I sighed, feeling a sliver of offense and amusement at my brother's stupidity. "Have you even had sex with a girl?"
"Well-"
"Nope. You haven't. Because if you did, you wouldn't ask such a stupid question, Lance."
"Why is it stupid? It's a legitimate question-"
I felt exasperated, "Dude, I don't know. I haven't had sex with either gender, and I don't plan to have sex in general unless my mate says he'd like to."
"But, didn't he spend the night-"
"Which meant nothing. He stayed the night, and we slept. Literally. He's a human, remember? Most humans don't just sleep with someone right after meeting them, mates or not."
"Uh, I feel like that's not entirely true-"
"Lance." I gave him a deadpanned stare, "I really can't talk about this right now."
He gave me a knowing smile, "Sirius acting up?"
I cursed, hearing my wolf howl at the idea of mating Seth. "Like no tomorrow."
If you really cared about our mate, Sirius, you'd wait until he was ready.
I'm just excited. Leave me be.
You first.
"Yeah, I get you. Landon just loses his shit every birthday that gets closer to finding our mate."
I huffed, "You'll find them soon. Just, don't get too caught up in other people, it could just complicate stuff.
"Like you and Bella?"
I frowned, thinking how she might feel now. I did give her false hope, but hopefully she would take it well. "Yeah. I mean, I don't have feelings, but I know she does. I don't wanna hurt her."
"Seems a little late for that."
The smell of bacon drifted in the air, and my stomach growled. Lance sniffed the air with a groan, "Damn. That smells amazing."
I nodded in agreement as we both got up and walked towards the kitchen. I saw Seth slightly swaying back and forth on the stool as he ate a plate of egg, hash browns, pancakes, and bacon. There were two other plates awaiting on the island, Lance and I sat eagerly as Monsè served herself some milk in a cup.
Seth poured syrup on his pancakes, "Thanks for having me for breakfast, guys."
We all nodded, Monsè poured us cups of milk as she spoke. "What are mates for?"
I glared at her as Seth raised an eyebrow, "Mate?"
Monsè and Lance shared a smirk as she continued, "Yeah, you know. Friends, pals, buddies..."
I seethed, and interrupted quickly, "So what does your mom work in?"
He looked to me, "Oh. She's a social worker. Sometimes she goes to different counties which makes me have the house to myself."
Lance grinned, "Must be fun. You ever throw parties?"
He shook his head with an amused smile, "Not really, I just like to watch Netflix and read books.”
I took another bite of my bacon strip, "I don't usually throw parties but, I figured it'd be cool to have one big one for the special eighteen, you know?"
He nodded, I continued, "When's your birthday, Seth?"
He sipped at his milk, "May."
I was stumped for a second, "Wait. Doesn't that mean you should be-"
"I should've graduated, yeah. I was..." His cheeks reddened, "Held back. Unfairly, might I add."
I chuckled, "What happened?"
My siblings gave him an expectant look, and Seth sighed. "Okay, but you can't laugh."
"Alright."
"So, I was in fifth grade, and on the day of the state test, I got super sick and had an urge to vomit all the time. But it was, like, state tests so I had to go, and when I finished the test, I vomited all over the tests. It was the holes you fill in with bubbles so..."
Monsè gasped, "No."
Lance and I groaned in unison at the embarrassment of it.
"Then, the school and my mom decided I should redo the year over so I can take the test again- which sucked- but it's whatever."
"At least we got to meet."
He looked up, a blush rising to his cheeks. "Yeah, I guess. Listen, I need to talk to you-"
The lock clicked, and everyone but Seth turned to the front door from the kitchen. We could hear them muttering, and I laughed at one of their comments that I could make out.
"It smells like teen desperation in here."
Seth looked at me confused, and I shook my head.
Monsè whacked the back of my head and I winced, pointedly glaring at her. Her loud and scolding voice rang in my head, ‘Could you be any more obvious?’
"Ooh, it smells delicious-" My mom stared with wide eyes at Seth, she hadn't been able to smell him due to the other smells lingering in the house from the party no doubt, and was certainly surprised. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "It's okay I'm confused, right? Who is this? You didn't tell me someone was sleeping over."
My father followed in right after, looking at all of us with a confused gaze. "Um, what's going on?"
I scratched the back of my neck, "Mom. Dad, this is my ma-"
Seth interrupted, standing up and extending his hand. "Friend. Seth Truman." His nervous chuckle rang in my mind as I gave him a questioning glance, and even Monsè and Lance looked at me confused. What did he think I would say? Why did it matter? I wondered how much longer I would have to court him in a human way... "Sorry to barge in. I kind of crashed after the party last night."
My mom practically gushed, and looked at me while questioning me through the mind link. ‘Is this your mate?’
I nodded, scratching my neck in slight embarrassment. It wasn't that I was embarrassed of him, hell no. It's just that my mom was very sweet and open, that she was obviously adored with my mate as well, and that she might embarrass me. Who wouldn't be?
"Oh, it's no trouble at all. We're happy to accommodate you." My dad smirked at him from behind my mom as he spoke, and I shook my head in annoyance. My dad gave me a raised brow and I rolled my eyes at his smug expression.
"Ah." Seth chuckled nervously, "Thanks. Your daughter is really good at cooking."
Monsè smirked, and my mom smiled.
"Yeah, she's really big on cooking." I gave him my most charming grin, and he avoided my eyes with a small blush forming on his cheeks. "How about you?"
He looked at Monsè, "So do you always make pancakes from scratch?"
I scowled, and I could hear Sirius whimper in the back of my head. My jaw clenched, and I didn't know whether to be angry or sad. He was sending me mixed signals, and I didn't want that: just tell me everything clearly for fuck's sake. I didn't want to let my anger cloud my judgement, but I also wanted to give him the cold shoulder if he was going to do the same to me.
My mom's hands massaged my shoulders, and I couldn't help but feel calm and relaxed at the notion. I placed my hand over hers and squeezed it, thanking her for the help. My dad was next to us too, hugging her from behind and resting his head on her shoulder. I looked up and smiled softly, talking with them through the mind link, ‘Thanks.’
‘Of course, darling.’
Seth stood up from the barstool, "It was nice for you guys to have me, but I really should be heading home now."
"I'll drive you." I say as I stand up abruptly, and he was about to protest until my sister just patted his shoulder and shook her head. She knew damn well I was too stubborn. He nodded, understanding what she meant.
I took another bite of my plate and told Monsè to save it for me before going upstairs to get a hoodie and my shoes. I came back down in a hurry, and grabbed the keys beside the door, "Seth!"
He came from the hallway after I heard him say his goodbyes to my family, and I opened the door for him chivalrously.
We got in the truck, and I sighed as I sat down. I tried not to glance at him while I made sure the mirrors were okay, and I put on my seatbelt after starting the car. I was hoping to make conversation, so I left the radio off as I pulled out of the driveway. Seth looked out of the window and rested his chin on his hand, and I laughed mentally when I remembered that he'd have to give me his address. I could just drive around until he decided to speak up, and it'd be hilarious. I turned left, and went towards my favorite burger joint.
I glanced at him before speaking up, "So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about?"
I pulled into the burger joint's drive-thru line, awaiting for my turn, and he sighed. "Okay. So about last night, what we did-"
"Was amazing." I smirked at him as I remembered the feeling of his body against mine while we slept. His lips were really nice too.
"It was a mistake." Seth twiddled his thumbs, and I felt a breath escape me. What was he saying? "Look, you're really nice and everything. But I know you and a girl named Bella have something going on, and... I don't want to be caught in the middle."
I cursed inwardly. I couldn't believe I would mess something up like this, and I wondered why I messed with Bella in the first place. Oh, because I didn't want a mate. Well, I changed my mind. I liked him, the feeling of him with me was amazing. I was keeping him, end of story.
"Bella and I were never even together." I pulled up in line, almost close to the order section. "So we messed around a couple times, it meant nothing."
"Maybe to you, but it means a lot to her." He scoffed, and I suddenly realized something.
"Wait, how do you even know this?"
He looked away before cursing under his breath.
"Did my sister-"
"No. Last night, I could see the way she looked at you." I narrowed my eyes, knowing he was keeping something from me. "Fine. I overheard you and Lance talking."
"Oh." I tensed up, then relaxed when predicting it was probably the last part of the conversation since he wasn't concerned about the other parts. "What I said still stands."
"But it didn't mean anything! It was just a drunken kiss-" I interrupted his exasperated rant.
"Not for me." I gave him a hardened stare, clenching my jaw in determination. "I like you, okay? And I want to get to know you."
He looked shocked, and sat back in his seat as he thought to himself. I awkwardly pulled up to the order section of the drive-thru, and asked for two milkshakes.
"I'd like strawberry, please."
I nodded, changing Seth's to strawberry, and made mine Oreo. It was only seven bucks, and was well worth it. I parked in the lot outside and Seth raised a curious brow, "Why aren't you driving me home?"
"I don't really feel like it." I grinned, feeling amused now. Had he noticed yet?
"What are you talking about? You said you would." He furrowed his brows, starting to look angry. I shrugged, nonchalant.
"I changed my mind." He was about to protest when I chuckled, "I'm kidding. You never gave me your address."
"Ohhh." He blushed, embarrassed and I chuckled again.
"It's okay." I tossed him my phone, "Just type it in."
He sipped noisily while typing it in, blushing as I gazed at him while sipping my own drink. It was tasty, but all I could think of was how I woke up next to him in bliss. He handed the phone back to me, and I memorized the route there before placing it in the middle. It wasn't that far, and I parked in his driveway no later than ten minutes.
He ran his hand through his hair with a sigh as I shifted the gear into park. He silently got out of the car, and I wondered for a moment if I should let him go like this. I could hear Sirius whimpering, and I decided I couldn't just leave it like this.
I got out of the car in a hurry, and he looked at me in surprise in front of his door. I scratched the back of my neck in anxiousness, "So about earlier..."
"I can't." Seth held the bridge of his nose, seemingly frustrated. I looked at him, feeling confused.
"Well, why not?"
He groaned, "What part of it being meaningless don't you understand?"
"What part of this," I grabbed his hand and placed it on my chest, feeling the same sparks from last night, from every time I've ever touched him, all over again, "do you not understand? I know you feel it too."
He looked conflicted, his eyes shutting as if in concentration as his body reacted to my subtle touch. My thumb rubbed across the back of his palm, and he huffed at me with a glare. I knew I looked desperate, but I couldn't help it. At first, I thought having a mate would be disastrous and painful. Being forced to be with someone, like some Neanderthal from the 1800s, or something. But then I saw that it wasn't really forced, and that it was a real connection.
"We have something. Don't deny it." His hand slowly became a fist against my chest, but I still held it there as I gazed at him. I silently whispered, "Please."
Seth's eyes met mine, searching for what, I have no idea. He was about to speak when a voice interrupted, somewhat smooth and high-pitched.
"Babe!" His hand quickly retracted from mine, and we both looked towards the sidewalk in front of his house. "Hey, I left you tons of messages. We were supposed to hang out this morning, remember?"
My wolf growled as I observed her, suddenly seeing an obstacle to his mate. She was a little shorter than Seth, with long black and wavy hair. She was slim, with average sized assets. Her face was heart shaped, with pretty red lips that complimented her pale skin and her eyes were big with brown doe-like eyes. She was pretty.
As she embraced him, he gave me a guilty expression while he hugged her back from the waist. My eyes widened as I realized what must've been obvious by now. Seth had a girlfriend.
"Oh fuck."
She looked up at me in confusion, and Seth visibly paled. I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me, my emotions becoming numb as one ruled above the others; anger.
"I can't believe this..." I shook my head, murmuring to myself as I was almost seething at this point. "Motherfucker..."
"Can't believe what?" Her question had an edge, and I felt like a deer caught in headlights. I immediately turned on my charm, chuckling as I pretended to be bashful.
"How pretty you are. I mean, who thought Seth would have such a hot friend?"
Her eyes widened, and I laughed again before speaking up again.
"Oh, wow. How rude of me," I grinned mischievously as I extended my hand out to her, "My name's Xavier, with an X."
She smiled, her eyes still somewhat confused as she placed her hand in mine. I brought it up to my mouth, placing a ginger kiss on the back of her palm while she blushed. I could feel Seth's glare, but I kept my gaze trained on her as I let go of her hand. This is what I get for actually liking my mate. I should've rejected him from the start. God, I want to forget ever meeting this bastard. This hot bastard...
She chuckled, nervous, "My name is Cassie. It's nice to meet you."
"I assume you're single." I bit my lip with a smile, coyly crossing my arms to flex my muscles. Yes, I was being a douche on purpose.
"Oh." She laughed again at my flattery, "No. Seth here is actually my boyfriend."
I laughed back, still focused on her while I could see Seth's jaw clench from my peripheral view. "Oh. Yeah, I was hoping not."
I narrowed my eyes at Seth with a scowl. Cassie raised an eyebrow, and I shrugged as I grew a grin again.
"You know, because you're pretty."
"How do you know my boyfriend again?" She shook her head with a scoff, but still smirked.
"He went to my party last night. I had to let him crash at my place because he got a little rowdy, to say the least." I smirked back, and she looked at him with a questioning expression. He guiltily smiled, and she chuckled. "Then I drove him home after a nice breakfast. So, yeah."
She smiled again, "Well, thanks for that. I really appreciate you taking care of him."
"Yeah." I scoffed at the unknown innuendo she just made, and I laughed sarcastically. "Yeah, I took care of him. He was practically all over me too."
She gasped and Seth cursed under his breath.
"Seth, I didn't know you got that drunk." She pressed her hand up to his forehead, "Do you have a headache?"
He shook his head, smiling the fakest smile I've ever seen, and glanced at me nervously. I nodded while scolding myself, practically wanting to die right then and there.
"Well," I clapped my hands together, "I gotta get going. It was nice meeting you, Cassie," I extended my hand out and shook hers gently, then patted Seth on the shoulder roughly. "And it was good hanging out with you last night, Seth."
He nodded, his smile more like a grimace. I turned, feeling defeated before I came up with an idea suddenly.
"Hey, Seth!" Both he and his girlfriend turned around, Cassie curious and Seth panicking. I smirked, "Don't forget about our study session this Monday!"
She looked up at him, no doubt wondering what I meant, and he raised an eyebrow at me. I smiled, "You said you'd help me with History at my house after school this Monday, remember?"
I didn't have history.
Seth made a surprised expression before quickly giving me a thumbs-up. He then took his girlfriend by the waist, and turned her towards the front door while he discreetly gave me the finger. I laughed sarcastically to myself before opening my car door and sitting down in my seat. I turned the radio to my favorite station, and drove home.
The minute my bedroom door closed behind me, I exhaled heavily. The weight in my chest was so heavy. I felt like I couldn't breathe, and I wondered if my family would ask me what was wrong if I cried. Luckily, I'd managed to avoid them as I stomped up to my room, but no doubt they already knew something was up.
I went into the bathroom, turning on the shower on it's heaviest. I took a deep breath as I looked myself in the mirror, trying to calm down, but I could feel the familiar sensation of my eyes tearing up. I clenched my fists as I choked up, and the sob broke out before I could stop it. I grit my teeth to try to stop it, sniffling while my hot tears were flowing now, but it didn't work.
This whole situation brought up things I'd rather forget. But I couldn't, no matter what I did, they stayed with me.
I had walked up to him during recess, smiling, 'Hey, why didn't you come over the other day?'
His eyes were hardened, and his mouth turned upwards in a scowl before he spat out the words I remembered all too well.
'Why do you care so much?'
I was about to respond, but he had already said the worst part.
'What are you? Gay?'
I shivered now as I did back then, exhaling deep as to not induce another sobbing fit. But right now, it was already too late, I was crying and I couldn't stop it.
I shivered now as I did back then, exhaling deep as to not induce another sobbing fit. But right now, it was already too late, I was crying and I couldn't stop it.
He was another closeted male, except this time it was worse. He was my mate, my soulmate, and he had a girlfriend. I cursed the moon goddess, hoping I'd get smite down to avoid the pain of this. Unfortunately, the pain never went away.
It had already been an hour, and I heard my cellphone ring in my back pocket. It was Bella. I debated what to do, and Sirius practically screamed at the notion. I shook my head as I answered it.
"Hey."

The racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism and cruel tropes in Voltron
So, it’s the anniversary of the ending of Voltron. And I’m getting really, really tired of people saying that only shippers hated the ending. There were many issues with Voltron, and they were neither limited to shipping nor to S8.
So, I’ve decided to compile a list.
It gets LONG. Turns out there was a hell of a lot of racist, sexist, ableist and cruel tropes in VLD.
In fact, I had originally planned on writing a list of both the terrible tropes and the plot holes. But there just wasn’t enough room for both. The post is huge as it is, and with the plot holes, it would have been twice as long, so I had to focus on only one thing.
Salt, obviously. So, so, so much salt. I could turn a lake into a sea here. You’ve been warned.
RACISM:
1) The Alteans are genocide survivors. Out of all the Alteans, only the black Altean was used for a Reverse Racism story where she resents a teammate for belonging to the race that exterminated hers. The white Alteans are totally cool with him, and with his race in general, and only hate the bad people. But the black one had to be taught that hating people because of their race is wrong.
2) VLD Allura is also the only version of Allura who is black. In every other Voltron media (several different cartoons and comics), Allura is blond with blue eyes. All the white versions of the character get a happy ending, while only the black version ends up dying to save the world.
While "hero sacrifices their life to save the world" is not a bad trope in and of itself, it becomes bad when it kills off one of the extremely few black female characters in leading roles. You kill off a white male hero, there are 463278462387 more. You kill off the black female hero, you are kinda screwed. Making it worse, Allura had been portrayed as suffering from depression throughout the latest seasons, so that her death comes across less as heroic sacrifice and more as suicide.
3) The brown Cuban kid who dreamed of being a pilot, and never once in 78 episodes ever expressed anything but sheer love for an exciting life, in the final two minutes of the final episode ends up realizing that the place for him is a farm.
4) As told in interviews, Lotor was meant to be a bad example of mixed-race person, to contrast him with Keith as good example of mixed race person. Do I even have to point out how messed up this is?
5) Even before they became Space Nazis, back when they were still on the side of the angels, the Galra invaded and conquered planets. This is portrayed as totally cool when they happily name the prince after a "hero" who invaded and conquered a lot of worlds, and the peaceful Alteans think the guy is just as heroic as one of their greatest scientists. Apparently there is such a thing as ethically killing people to steal their land.
6) They whitewashed Keith, a character who is poc in every other iteration of Voltron.
I’m sure a lot of people are going to get angry here, claiming that I hate Keith. Let me assure you, I don’t. I love Keith, and I hate what was done to him. I hate that they took a traditionally poc character and went to frankly ridiculous lengths to erase that part of his character. Keith should be Asian, and it would be incredibly easy to make him so in VLD (seriously, all they’d have to do is update the freaking bios, an intern could do it right now in 5 minutes). But they refuse to do it.
A lot of people don’t realise that the surname “Kogane” in VLD is fanon.
I’m serious. Check his official bios page. Keith is not actually called Keith Kogane in VLD. Fans started calling him that in fanfiction, and it stuck, but it’s not canon.
In every other Voltron media, Keith is an Asian guy. But in VLD, they:
- went out of their way to always avoid giving him an Asian surname
- gave him a Texan father
- refused to confirm his race, even when every other character had a specific race. Again, check his official bios. All the other characters got a race, Keith gets “human.” It got so ridiculous it would be funny if it weren’t sad. It pretty much went like this:
Fans: Keith is half alien, but about his human half, what is his ethnicity? EPs: oh, we couldn't possibly say, because the story takes place in the future, and in the future, everybody is mixed up! So, Keith is HUMAN, we can't give him a specific race because there are no specific races in the future! Fans: ok. And what are the races of the other characters? EPs: Pidge is Italian, Lance is Cuban, Hunk is half-black half- Samoan, Shiro is Japanese. Fans: but Keith...? EPs: HUMAN! There is no such thing as race in the future!
Some people at least hoped that Keith's Texan father had Asian ancestry because he kinda looked like Shiro, who is Japanese. But the EPs confirmed that the resemblance was just a coincidence, they never meant for the dad to look Japanese.
At this point pretty much the only evidence that Keith is Asian is that he is voiced by an Asian person. But then, Josh Keaton is not Japanese, is he?
7) After whitewashing Keith, they claimed he is the best leader of Voltron, better than his poc predecessor, because he has Galra blood.
So, instead of bringing up any sort of legit reason to justify why Keith should be in charge (like his empathy or pilot skills), they go with "the half-white guy is also half space-nazi and that's why he should give the orders instead of the poc guy."
If you think I’m bashing Keith here, please ask yourself why you are getting angry at the person pointing out the whitewashing instead of getting angry at the whitewashing. Especially when, again, making VLD Keith canonically poc could be done anytime with zero cost and zero effort, and DW just doesn’t want to.
- Hunk, the half-black half-Samoan guy, was going to be killed and replaced as Paladin by a blue alien. The EPs were pissed when DW forbade them to, and complained in the interview about it.
SEXISM:
Every single woman who is ever put in charge ends up going insane, making terrible decisions that endanger her planet, or losing all of her authority.
Allura starts out as co-leader of Voltron and leader of the Coalition. Ends up as a foot soldier who takes orders from the new leader and his right-hand man, and is treated as a cadet by the Earth military.
HOMOPHOBIA:
1) Dreamworks, Netflix and the EPs very, very, very heavily promoted S7 as GLBT-friendly. The EPs gave whole interviews about the past relationship between Shiro and new character Adam, retweeted a ton of posts celebrating Shiro’s homosexuality, and enthusiastically sent tweets like "you are going to see more of Adam in S7! :D" from their personal accounts after they showed the episode that introduced him.
In S7:
- Shiro's homosexuality is so ambiguous that even the Brazilian voice actor didn't realize that he was supposed to be gay. Just by watching the show, without knowing the World Of God, you can’t tell he and the other guy were engaged.
- Adam gets about 30 seconds of screentime after that one episode they had already shown. Then he dies screaming in pain and terror in a fire.
A lot of people claimed that it was okay to kill Adam because Shiro was supposed to be our rep, not Adam, who was a brand new character we knew little about. And, out of context, that would be true. Adam was pretty much a NPC, why would his death matter?
But the problem here is the context:
- Shiro is closeted in S7, you need to read interviews to know he is gay. So, if only Shiro is meant to be the rep, they couldn’t even do that right.
- They very heavily marketed both Shiro and Adam as gay rep, and specifically talked at length about Adam in several interviews.
In THAT context, REGARDLESS of what you ship, killing off Adam revealed a complete willingness to manipulate the audience to the point of outright lying. Even if you hated Adam, even if Adashi is your NOTP, the clear evidence that the creators had absolutely no problem making empty promises was NOT a good sign.
2) The moment Shiro is revealed to be gay in interviews, he is practically quarantined from the Team.
3) Shiro is also given a Totally Not AIDS deadly disease.
Making it even worse, Shiro never actually gets cured in canon. We are told he is cured in interviews, but the show itself drops the topic entirely. Depending on where you lean in the Word Of God VS Death Of The Author debate, Shiro may be doomed to die.
4) A female villain is revealed to be a lesbian. 30 seconds later she gleefully tortures a little girl. Then she, too, dies in a fire.
(Fan outrage about pulling two Bury Your Gays in the Season that had been very heavily promoted as GLBT-friendly caused DW to retcon her death and bring her back in S8, but she was originally meant to die in the explosion)
5) Shiro ends up marrying a random character who doesn’t even get a name in the show.
ABLEISM:
1) Shiro's PTSD magically disappears offscreen. In interviews, the EPs claimed that he "got over it" between S6 and S7 because "he is a professional." Wow! Who knew being a professional magically cures mental illnesses!
2) Shiro is an amputee. The EPs admitted that they never put any thought into his status as disabled rep, they just wanted a character with a cool-looking arm. It literally didn't occur to them that making him lose his arm (TWICE! First up to the biceps, then up to the shoulder) meant anything. Also worth noting that Shiro’s new arm makes him look like the guy who tormented him.
3) Shiro is systematically robbed of his agency.
- He is the only Paladin who never gets to use his bayard.
- He loses his bond with Black for no given canon reason (and the reason they give in interviews makes no sense, they basically say that transferring his soul out of the Black Lion makes her stop loving him. But she still lets Zarkon fly her!).
I know that Keith is traditionally Black’s pilot in Voltron media (although that shouldn’t matter, because VLD made a lot of huge changes to the traditional status quo). But if they wanted Black Paladin Keith that badly, they could have given some non-insulting reason for it. For example, say “because Shiro has spent so much time within Black, their bond is now so strong that he will get absorbed again if he flies her again.” Or co-pilots in Black (if Pidge can co-pilot with Matt, why can’t Shiro co-pilot with Keith?).
- He is defeated not only by Sendak, but also by a bunch of random Alteans. He basically can’t win a fight anymore unless it’s played for laughs.
- His new robot Atlas is bigger than Voltron, but also much weaker, and can only buy a few minutes for Voltron to come save the day.
- Every single enemy he ever defeated comes back to be finished off by somebody else (even the friggin' Gladiator from S1 comes back in S8). In the epilogue, he retires in his twenties.
4) Narti, the disabled General, is fridged shortly after her introduction. For a while at least it seemed like her death had affected the remaining three Generals, but then it turns out that the "For Narti" line was a trick and they never actually planned on avenging her.
CRUEL TROPES:
1) They intentionally baited the fans by pushing the plot thread that Lotor would be redeemed. They named the episode where he defects "A New Defender," they kept saying in interviews that they come from Avatar and they are very familiar with Zuko *hint hint*, they showed his family as incredibly abusive and Lotor himself as desperate, they showed that Lotor was a victim of severe racism (he is mixed race, and as stated above, the Galra are Space Nazis and are pretty obsessed with blood purity).
Then, after revealing him to be a villain, they gave an interview where they practically dislocated their shoulders by patting themselves on the back as they gleefully bragged that "we made them think we would give them a Zuko, but we gave them an Azula!"
(Nevermind the fact that Azula herself was a 14-year-old child, not a monster, and that Aaron Ehasz himself confirmed that he always wanted her to be redeemed).
When fans who are survivors of child abuse told them that the bait-and-switch was really hurtful, they laughed it off, and claimed that Lotor was just beyond redemption. Then they proceeded to redeem Lotor's abusive parents, who were objectively much worse.
2) Shiro’s clone, who sincerely believed he was Shiro and always meant well, was dehumanised, demonised and discarded like his life meant nothing. His short existence was full of pain from literally the moment he first opened his eyes, as Haggar kept torturing him with migraines to manipulate him. In the end, she brutally violates him body and mind, and brainwashes him to force him to turn on the family he was so desperate to find in The Journey. He dies in incredibly questionable circumstances, without ever getting to learn that his family survived Haggar’s plans. He is victim-blamed for the things she forced him to do against his will with mind-control, and is never mourned because the only family he ever had writes him off as a “thing” and “evil.”
In fact, the horrific treatment of Kuron foreshadowed S8. The Medium article “It never stops at one - Why Voltron: Legendary Defender's tragic ending wasn't a surprise and why more DreamWorks' series will follow suit” explains how.
The tl;dr version is that, when a story posits that the circumstances of your birth determine the value of your life, so that good intentions and hard work mean nothing, and long-established bonds can be discarded with zero thought and care, and your very humanity can be revoked over something you have absolutely no control over, and the whole sociopathic disaster is celebrated as a happy ending... it really, really can’t end well. Not just for you, but for the entire cast.

Cinnamon Bagels and Peppermint Tea Part 3
The third part of the Cinnamon Bagels and Peppermint Tea Series, in which Lance owns a cute marketplace bakery, and Shiro tries his damn best to make sure his delinquent brother knows about it. Alternative Title: Shiro is the ultimate wingman and Keith has a gay crisis.
For anyone who remembers this piece, I’ve decided to continue this AU (click here for part 2)! Read the full piece below the bar, or @/sleapea on ao3 or instagram 💕
Shiro was standing in the kitchen, coffee in hand, when Keith stormed into their living room. The room was dim, aglow with the light from the setting sun and nothing else.
Even in the fading light, the first thing Shiro noticed was that Keith looked… more put together than usual, to say the least. Shiro immediately dismissed the storming… that was the usual for Keith. But wearing his hair in a neat braid down the side of his neck, rather than his usual, messy bun? Now that was new. So was wearing a nice pair of black jeans and a grey, fitted crew neck instead of a hoodie and sweatpants. And, by the astonishing lack of wrinkles, Shiro could tell that they were from his closet, not his bedroom floor. The last time he saw Keith this neat, it had been at their mother’s second wedding. Two years ago.
He watched intently, knowing full well that Keith was pointedly ignoring him. He remained quiet as Keith shrugged on his leather jacket by the front door, and as he laced up his boots. It was only when Keith turned to face the door and wrapped his hand around the doorknob that Shiro asked:  “Where are you going?”
Keith flinched, hand pausing around the knob. He slowly looked over his shoulder, expression guarded. Shiro grinned.
“To the bakery,” he grumbled.
Shiro shifted so that he could prop his hip against the kitchen counter. When he was comfortable, he took a long, slow sip of coffee. Under his unwavering gaze, Keith began to squirm, a small flush creeping up his cheeks. If Shiro didn’t know any better, he’d almost say that his baby brother looked sheepish.
“Do you… want anything?”
“Oh, no, no. I’m good,” Shiro answered casually. He waved him off, took another slow sip of his coffee. Keith prickled.
“What do you want?” he snapped. As usual, Keith didn’t try to hide how annoyed he was. Although, Shiro didn’t think Keith could hide how he felt, even if he did want to.
Either way, as usual, Shiro ignored it.
“Hmm? Nothing,” he shrugged, expression neutral.
“Shiro,” Keith deadpanned, finally taking his hand from the knob and turning to fully face his brother. “I’ve known you my entire life,” he paused, taking the time to breathe in heavy, collect himself. Then, he crossed his arms and raised a frustrated brow, exhaling as he levelled him with a stare. “I know when you’re full of shit.”
“Easy there, cowboy,” Shiro chuckled. He raised his mug to his lips again, but paused before taking a sip, as if deep in thought. “How many times have you gone to the bakery this week, Keith?” Keith’s eyes widened, like the question caught him off guard.
“...why?” he asked slowly.
“Humour me.”
Keith narrowed his eyes at him, holding his gaze. Shiro met his eyes easily, amused smile on his face all the while. It never took long for Keith to crack— usually, his impatience or his curiosity had him caving right… about...
Keith broke their eyes with a loud huff, an exaggerated eye roll. “Fine, you win,” he mumbled, cheeks flushed and frustrated. Shiro tried to stifle his laugh behind his mug, but if the glare Keith shot him was anything to go by, he didn’t do a very good job.
“I went on Monday… after finishing a commission,” he began tentatively, gaze shifting in concentration. “Tuesday when you worked late, because I didn’t feel like making dinner. Then… again on Wednesday becau—”
“Keith,” Shiro cut him off with an amused chuckle. "How many times?”
Keith let out a frustrated sigh and shot him a look, but Shiro merely laughed. Frowning, Keith began to count on his fingertips. “1, 2, 3…” he mumbled under his breath “...6?”
“What day is it today?” Shiro prodded. Keith paused.
“...Thursday?”
Shiro nodded, but kept quiet. Patiently, he waited until...
Keith’s eyes widened as the lightbulb flicked on.
“That’s way too many times, isn’t it…” Keith began, entirely to himself. He instantly took to pacing back and forth, back and forth, like he was trying to run a small line into the floor. “Holy shit. What does he think of me? Is that weird?” He stared down at the ground in horror for a moment before bursting aloud. “Who eats that many bagels, of course it’s weird!”
Shiro simply watched, content to let Keith talk this one out himself.
“I definitely shouldn’t go. You’re right, yeah, no way,” Keith continued, decidedly. He was silent for all of 5 seconds before he slumped, the reality of what he’d just resolved sinking in. “But… I want to see him,” he whispered, face fallen. He looked just like a kicked puppy.
“And the truth comes out,” Shiro laughed. His little brother was so smitten— it was sweet, if Shiro was being honest.
“What did you do??” Keith whirled on him then, eyes wide and questioning.
“Pardon me?” Shiro asked, stunned.
“What did you do with Allura?”
Shiro blushed, caught off guard for the first time that evening. “Oh, uh… that was a long time ago.” He tried to laugh light-heartedly, but it sounded more like a strangled cough than anything else. “Mmm… yeah. I’m pretty old. Can’t seem to remember.” Without missing a beat, he glanced down at the underside of his wrist. “Wow, look at the time. Better head to bed…”
He wasn’t wearing a watch.
“Shiro! Come on,” Keith whined, features morphing into his signature “Shiro caves every time I make this face” expression. And, he was right. Shiro did  cave every time he made that expression.
Shiro groaned.
“You already know the story!” He appealed, a little indignant.
“Humour me.” Keith shot back, and Shiro flinched. Oh, how he hated it when his own tricks were used against him.
“I miss when you used to be cute, you know? Like when you were really small. And couldn’t talk,” he sighed, defeated.
“Shiro…”
“FINE. Fine,” he relented. “But only because I’m an adult who is mature now.”
Keith rolled his eyes. “Psh, yeah. Okay.”
Shiro narrowed his eyes at Keith, but all his little brother did was shrug. Shiro huffed, took to pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. He tried his best to act annoyed, but he couldn’t help the small smile that crept onto his face.
When he was a senior in highschool, Shiro had been captain of the boy’s soccer team. Allura had been captain of the girl’s team. They’d hardly known each other until Shiro caught word that one of his freshmen had been heckling the girl’s team after practice.
To this day, Shiro isn’t quite sure how it happened. Somehow, the girl’s team ended up challenging the boys to a friendly match, an opportunity to put their money where their mouths were. And, Shiro could hardly refuse, given it had been his rookie who prompted the match in the first place.
The girl’s team ended up winning 3 - 2. Shiro will never forget the way Allura handled the ball, knocking him right off his feet, literally and figuratively, to score the winning goal. To this day, her graceful footwork was something he still marvelled every time he watched her play.
“I… well, you know how the match went,” Shiro said, and Keith snorted. Shiro elbowed him in the side before continuing, as though Keith hadn't interrupted. “Pretty hard to… look cool after someone knocks you down like that.”
Keith scowled as he rubbed at his side, but his eyes remained attentive.
“I went up to her after the match and asked her to prom.”
“Right there?”
Shiro smiled at the fond memory. “Right there,” he nodded.
“Right after she kicked your ass?”
“She didn't kick my ass—”
“She still said yes?”
“Well, first she laughed so hard she choked on her gatorade…”
“I can’t believe this worked out for you,” Keith mumbled.
“Me neither,” Shiro laughed, “but… she liked that, I guess. Said most guys would have been walking away with their tails between their legs by now. Which, they were. The rest of the team.” Shiro laughed to himself, expression gone completely soft. Keith made a face that he pretended not to notice.
“That didn’t help me at all,” he frowned, glaring at his brother as if his current predicament was entirely his fault. Which… in a way, it was.
“You wanted to know!” Shiro instantly sputtered, indignant.
“I thought you’d be more useful!” Keith snapped back, and Shiro felt downright scandalized. He gaped in the silence that fell over them both as Keith took to pouting, arms crossed and brows comically furrowed.
“Hmm, well, if I'm not useful, I guess I’ll just keep this next part to myself,” he spoke slowly as the thought hit him, grinning at Keith as his little brother perked his head up.
“What next part…?” He asked, tentative. It was hopeful, despite the lingering pout he wore.
“The part where I met Lance’s sister this week,” Shiro admitted, grin turning from playful to downright devilish as Keith’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
“WHAT— and you didn’t tell me?”
“Because I knew you’d…” he waved a hand, gesturing to Keith and his current state. His face was flushed a deep red, the heat dispersed in messy patches across his neck and cheeks. His eyes were still comically wide, and his body was wound taut like a spring. “Freak out.”
“I’m not freaking out!” Keith blurted, tone loud and splintering at the edges.
“Obviously.”
“Shiro,” Keith whined. He didn't say anything more aloud, but his eyes were practically screaming "help me." And, oh, he was making the face again.
“She’s worried about him,” he looked down at his mug as he spoke, raised it to his lips. Immediately, he made a face— to his dismay, his coffee had gone cold. He set his mug down on the counter with a frown. So much for enjoying a nice, relaxing cup of coffee after dinner.
“Worried, why?” Keith drew him back to the present with his quick response. His posture had completely deflated, all anger having dissipated into genuine concern.
“She says he works too hard. Hardly ever leaves the bakery,” he continued, and Keith’s frown deepened.
“Oh...” he whispered.
“Yeah. She wishes he’d…” Shiro paused, contemplating for a moment. “Take more time for himself.” Keith looked utterly defeated, expression alight with worry. Shiro, on the other hand...
“Why… are you smiling?” Keith accused. He asked the question like he didn’t want to hear the answer. Of course, Shiro provided it anyway.
“I told her we could help,” he said simply.
“We can?” Keith blinked, incredulous.
“Well, I told her you could help,” Shiro reached out a finger and lightly poked Keith in the centre of his chest.
“Me?” Keith choked, staring down at Shiro’s hand in disbelief. “How am I supposed to—”
“Take him out this Saturday,” Shiro cut him off quickly, knowing his brother’s propensity to panic spiral. Keith looked like a boiling kettle, flushed and steaming and ready to—
“WHAT!” he burst. Shiro shrugged, doing his best to feign nonchalance.
“The bakery will be closed. She said Lance should have a free day,” Shiro explained, doing his best to stay casual for the sake of his brother’s quickly fading sanity. “You can help him clear his mind.”
“Why would Lance want to go anywhere with me?” Keith mumbled under his breath. Shiro sighed.
“Do you want to help him?” Keith looked up at him in surprise. His expression was earnest and genuine, making him look like a little kid again.
“Of course I do, but—”
“No buts. Do you want to help him, or not?” At that, Keith’s brows creased, and he flushed a little deeper.
“Yeah…” he averted his eyes, speaking to the fridge instead of Shiro. It didn’t matter, Shiro had what he needed.
“Then trust me.”

CSUAVS prt 46 start
Finding Lance was easy, he was leaning against the wall a few steps away from the dining room doors. With his mask pulled down, he had one hand over his mouth as he leaned his forehead against his bent arm "I know I shouldn't have snapped. It's just Pidge being Pidge and trying to show she's happy for us. This on me, not her" "No. Yes and no. You're not the only one who wanted to be able to tell people when we were ready" Turning, Lance leaned his back on the wall with a sigh "I know. I wanted to... it wasn't a great secret, but everyone we told respected us enough to not make a huge deal. I wanted to talk to Hunk first. He knows something awful happened on that prison ship. Then Pidge... Like, when I was ready. And you... you just got outed in front of everyone for dating me" Walking over to Lance, Keith nodded as he flopped himself back against the wall to stand next to his boyfriend "I don't care. I have no idea how we're going to work out any of this if we're both working seperate jobs, but I know that I want to be with you, no matter how frustrating you are" "Well that's great. I'm frustrating and you're gay" Looking to Lance, Lance had a smile on his lips "Tell me something I don't know?" "I wear a size 10" Keith raised an eyebrow, Lance lifting his right foot to roll his ankle and show off his boot "I didn't know that" Shrugging, Lance seemed to be doing better than he thought he was. Especially if he could crack a joke "You asked for something you didn't know" "I know I did. How do you feel? Do you want to talk about it?" "There's not much to say. I snapped at Pidge. Pidge caused me to snap because she doesn't know I'm messed up in the head. I'm still angry, and now everyone knows we're dating... I'm sorry, babe. If I hadn't freaked..." Nudging Lance, Keith slipped his hand in Lance's "There's nothing to be sorry about. I was the one teasing you in the alcove. I have no idea how Pidge managed to hear us" "The gremlin probably built some super spy tech she wanted test and then heard us by accident" "That does sound like something she'd do. I swear I didn't know she was coming" "It's ok. I mean, if I'd known, it would have been something else to be a douche over" Keith rolled his eyes. So Lance wasn't crying because he internally berating himself "You're not being a douche. You're shaken up. We can totally skip out on dinner. Go back to my room, eat the metric ton of chocolate I had your mum pick up for us. Take that bubble bath?" "Yeah... I mean, I'd like to say yes, but if we don't go back, it's going to be worse. Pidge and Hunk are going to be asking if we're alright. We're getting to get smothered all over again. Coran can keep a secret, but he often blabs when it comes to comforting someone else..." That was true. Lance had nearly blurted out they were married. He'd been literally ticks away from saying so. Coran probably wouldn't have someone to interrupt him in there "So you want to go back in?" "I don't want to but that's, you know, part of being adult" "Being a adult is over rated. Can I hold your hand?" Laughing at him, Lance pulled him off the wall, stealing a quick kiss "You're already holding my hand, mullet" "I know. I want to hold it when we walk back in. I've waited so long to tell everyone you're finally mine" Lance's smile wavered "I'm sorry... I should have..." Shit. He didn't mean it like that. He wasn't trying to accuse Lance of anything. He needed time. They still needed time "No! No, babe. I mean, I'm so fucking proud to be yours. That's all. I love you" "I love you, too. I'm sorry, you couldn't tell everyone sooner because of me. I'm still... I don't know. I know I love you, but you know how it goes. First comes kisses, then making out, then sex... and I don't know how to cope with that... I didn't know how to cope with... earlier. I wasn't.. disgusted. You know that right? You don't disgust me. I just wasn't expecting it... or to, you know, react to it. I don't know what to do" Tugging Lance up to him, Keith wrapped his free arm around him "Babe. I don't expect you to do anything at all. And I think this is a conversation we need to sit down and have. We can work out what's ok, what's too much, and what makes you feel good. I want you to feel good" "I want you to feel good too... What was happening in your dream?" Keith hadn't meant having the conversation here, ok... he could do this. They probably weren't expecting them back at all, and if it helped him calm, then it was worth it "Well... You don't get to laugh, ok" "No laughing. I promise" "Have you ever had a dream where you wake up in it, and you think you're actually awake?" Lance snorted, Keith growling "Not laughing. But yes... mostly back on Earth" "I had a dream I woke up with you in my arms and I was horny as hell, but when I went into the bathroom you caught me as I came. Then you said you didn't want to run away anymore. I was eating you out, kind of moaning your name and woke up when you threw those clothes on me" Lance shivered against him. Keith's words had tumbled out in one long embarrassed mumble "Shit... that's kind of..." "I won't make you do that" "No... no... ugh... I was going to say hot. I can see why you... Maybe I shouldn't have asked. Let's just go back to dinner?" "Are you ok, babe?" Lance smelt aroused. It wasn't strong, but it was enough for him to want to whisk him away "Mmm... yeah... you can smell it. I can hear you sniffing" Sniffing was bad. Quiznak. Sniffing was bad because Galra had repeatedly commented on Lance's scent and now he kind of felt like was acting like they had "Sorry. I promise I won't do anything" "I know you won't. Ok. Let's head in..." Dinner had continued without them. Their barely touched first courses had been replaced with cooling soup for the second course. Pidge was now talking, arguing, with Zak over some tech thing. Daehra and Lucteal were whispering to Coran. Shiro had his "worried dad" face on, but that softened when they walked back in the room. Possibly warned against making a scene, Pidge continued talking to Zak as they took their seats "Sorry about that. I'm sorry for losing my temper" No one expected an apology from Lance, but being Lance, he couldn't help himself. Leaning in, Keith kissed Lance's temple "It's ok, babe. Let's eat?" "Yeah..." Slowly picking up on conversation, Keith covered for the lapses in Lance answering. Fine tremors seemed to be running through his boyfriend without his mask up to protect him from the smells of the room. Hunk was staring at them like he was confused, as he had been before they'd taken those few doboshes, but Shay was happy. Congratulating them politely, Keith was reminded why Shay was the best out of the partners around the table, not including Lance. Curtis could be grumpy. Veronica was scary. Kolivan didn't speak, and Ezor was Ezor. Shay was always soft and genuine, yet fiery when she needed. Curtis earned himself a mental demotion with no clue at all... but none of them compared to Lance, and he wasn't dating any of them, so his opinion really didn't matter that much. It was all Lance's fault he was even thinking about everyone else. His boyfriend had made him realise how weirdly shallow his world was, or was he not shallow because simply accepted it all, as long as his friends were happy... Now he just needed Lance to eat a little more, and things would be prefect. Keith knew the Galra across from the table weren't a threat, Lance knew they weren't a threat, but the slightest loud scrape of cutlery from had Lance inching closer to him discretely. Or it had been discretely. Lance was nearly in his lap now. His shaking had only grown worse. Nudging him gently, Lance looked paled as he faced him "Babe, do you want to go back to our room?" Nodding, Lance placed down his cutlery clumsily "Sorry, I don't feel very well" "That's fine... Mum, Lance and I are going to grab his stuff from the Telula. We'll see you later" Krolia nodded with a kind smile that didn't reach her eyes as she realised Lance didn't look well "Of course. It's wonderful to have you here. If you, or your team, needs anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask" "Thanks, Krolia. Thank you for dinner. Sorry guys, I'm still a bit wiped out from work. Breakfast tomorrow?" Posing the question to the table, Shiro's team and his both agreed. Speaking up for Lance's team, nothing got by Daehra "We shall accompany you to collect our own belongings. Thank you for your kind hospitality. Daibazaal is a beautiful planet" "We like it. Enjoy your stay. Keith, don't forget to let Kosmo out for the night" "I won't" He wouldn't forget because his wolf had already deserted him.

Shiro x Reader
Requested by a friend
You couldn't help but always feel less than everyone else. Pidge was smarter than you. Hunk was a better cook. Lance had the best chance with the ladies (even though you were hella gay you were jealous). Keith was a very good fighter. Shiro was a natural leader. Allura was a freaking alien princess. Coran was a mechanic.
You were just average. You don't have any special skill like the others did. You weren't really anyone important.
You sigh and sit up in your bed and look at the clock.
6:47 am
You were late for breakfast. You roll over and stare at the wall. There was no point in going to go to breakfast if you don't feel like eating it. Even if you did you had to lose weight. You were a little too pudgy for your liking. Almost everyone else was in great condition, you had to be too. Maybe you could look even better for your boyfriend, Shiro.
You quickly got changed and went to the training room.
You were only at level 23. Everyone else was above where you were at. You were going to get better. You needed them to be proud of you.
You trained until Keith came in. "End training sequence!"
"Keith, what the hell!" You shout.
"You need a break, look at you." He said pulling you to sit with him.
He was right. You were drenched in sweat, you were exhausted. Every part of your body was sore. But you needed to continue.
"I need to keep going, Keith. I need to get better." You said standing on your shaky legs.
"I agree that you have some room for you to improve, but this is too much." He said trying to force you to sit back down.
"Nobody in this castle understands! Get out of my way Keith!" You shout trying to step around him.
"Nope. We are not doing this angsty bull crap." He tossed you over his shoulder.
As he carried you out of the room you were trying to kick and break free of his grasp. You didn't have the energy left to fight him. He brought you into the kitchen.
"Someone goes get lance, we all need to talk," Keith said. He didn't put you down.
"What is going on here," Shiro asked.
You felt your cheeks flush red in embarrassment. You stopped fighting and stared at Keith's black shirt in front of you trying you hide your face.
"Put him down, Keith," Hunk said.
You heard a clunk and Keith walked over and sat you down in a chair. There was a bowl of goo sitting there on the table beside me. Keith turned my chair and sat next to me.
"Eat. I will force feed you." Keith snapped.
You glared at him and crossed your arms and looked the other way. You weren't going to be intimidated by him. Lance walked in with Pidge and Keith stood up.
"We need to have a conversation with him." He said sitting on the table beside him. "He hasn't been eating recently, he's exercising until he's about to drop, and feels like we don't understand him."
Nobody spoke for a few minutes leaving you embarrassed. You should of know to be more discreet. This was your fault and now they were going to start watching over you like a child.
Your stomach interrupts everything, growling loudly begging you for food. You weren't going to comply. You couldn't.
"Why were you keeping this from us? Please eat." Shiro, your boyfriend, begged.
"No." You mumble.
"Why are you doing this," Pidge asked.
"Leave me alone." You whisper.
You wanted to tell them, it was too hard to get out of your mouth. So you decided not even to try. Why should you?
"Please, just talk to us." Hunk said in tears.
You felt guilty. You shook your head and looked at the goo your stomach was crying out for.
"Is it too hard to admit it?" Allura asked.
That caught you off guard. You nodded but didn't look up. Why was she so good at getting through to you?
"I figured as much." She grabbed a glass of water and walked next to me. "A few months ago Coran found a couple hundred vials of Truth serum. I've been meaning to use it for a bonding exercise."
You could easily tell where this was going. "If it gets you guys off my case, I'll do it."
She nodded and Coran walked in and handed her a tiny yellow vial. She pored it into the drink and it disappeared perfectly. It was a little strange.
You took the cup and went to drink it but paused. "Don't think less of me." You drank all of the water and set the cup down.
You didn't feel any different, you looked around to see who would ask the first question.
"Why aren't you eating?" Lance asked.
"I want to be in good shape, I also want to look skinnier for Shiro." You slapped your hand over your mouth.
With teary eyes, you looked up at him. You were terrified he'd be mad, he wasn't. He was hurt. He looked so sad it broke your heart.
"You are perfect. You don't need to change for me. I love you the way you look right now. I wouldn't want you any other way." He said. You looked back down ashamed of yourself.
"Why are you training until you can't anymore?" Keith asked.
"I want to be as good as you guys. I want to be just as strong. I want to you guys to be proud of me. Everyone has their own thing. I'm not very important to this team. I want to change that." You burst into tears. "I'm tired of Average."
Shiro got up and pulled you out of your chair you pulled you tightly to his chest. You cried into his shirt and he just held you tightly.
"You don't have to be like us for you to be proud of you. I'm always proud of you." Shiro said. He rubbed your back as you cried.
"You are funnier than us. You can make us smile. You make us happy." Hunk said. You looked up at him.
"You inspire us to be better." Lance smiled.
"You are a person we can all come to keep secrets," Pidge said.
"-and vent." Keith butted in.
"You mean so much to us already." Coran smiled at me and I gave a watery smile back.
"You don't need to be any better at anything, you are perfect the way you are right now," Shiro whispered.
"One last question... why did you keep this from us?" Allura asked.
"I thought you guys would be angry. I didn't want to think I was weak either."
Nobody really said anything about it. You were grateful.
"How long does this last?" You asked Allura.
"12 hours."
"Ugh."
Lance gave you a creepy smile. "Who is your favorite Paladin?"
"Pidge and Hunk. I can't choose between them." You blurted out.
That's how the rest of the day went. They asked you weird and funny questions through the day and it turned into the best day.
(A/N) I'm pretty sure this is the longest I've written so far. I'm kind of proud. I try to stay around 400 - 600 words. It was 1212 words. Have a good day/night!

High School Klance AU Part I
So this is an idea that has been floating in my head for ages and I needed to share so bad! Basically this is part 1 of 4 (maybe 8 if I decide to follow them through college, too). It’s gonna be a kinda slowburn thing; at least, they don’t get together right away. ANYHOO I may write some of the scenes in more depth someday but maybe not, who knows? If you feel inspired and want to draw and/or write a scene PLEASE DO OMG I”D BE HONORED. Without further ado:
Freshman Year
-       Keith and Lance are both the new kids freshman year
-       Keith was kicked out of the public school system because he got into a bad fight (it wasn’t his fault)
-       Lance’s family moved from California and they preferred to send him to the private Catholic high school because it’ll give him a better chance at good college’s
-       They’re the first bus stop on the route and they’re the only ones there
-       They have to get to the bus stop early because it’s a long ride to school so they’re standing there in the wee hours of the day; neither of their families are there to see them off
-       They start talking
-       Keith is bad at small talk but Lance is super nervous so their conversation, while stinted, ends up actually being pretty decent
-       On the bus they swap schedules and phone numbers and actually find that they have a lot of interests
-       Lance tells Keith how nervous he is about starting over, something he hadn’t admitted even to his parents who rely on him as the oldest sibling; Keith tells Lance about the fight he got into, which is something he generally doesn’t talk about with anyone
-       They both just know they can trust each other and also they’re awkward freshman with no friends so why not, right?
-       At school they only have one class with each other—math
-       Lance is not bad at making friends but everyone there is pretty much already friends with everyone else so he doesn’t really make another meaningful connection with anyone else
-       Keith doesn’t really care about making friends during classes because he’s just trying really hard not to get kicked out of this school
-       On the bus ride back they do the math homework together
-       Their days are like this for the first week
-       But then Lance meets Hunk who is in his science class and also his lunch period and they become pretty good friends
-       Hunk is a bit of a floater at the school who gets along with everyone but doesn’t have any solid friends (though that changed because he and Lance become best friends before the year is over)
-       Keith tries out for the football team; technically he was supposed to try out over the summer but the coach lets him and a few other freshmen who didn’t know about those tryouts slide
-       Keith does really well and is actually put onto the Junior Varsity team and not the freshman team, though he’s obviously benched
-       He doesn’t think he’ll make friends with the other football players but he spends so much of his time with them that of course they all start to grow close
-       So Lance and Keith only see each other on the morning bus ride (which Keith uses to catch up on sleep most of the time) and in math class
-       But it’s not like they drift apart, exactly
-       They stay in touch; they stay friends
-       And Lance stays really good at reading Keith
-       So good that he can sometimes tell Keith is in a bad way before Keith can and as the year progresses whenever he sees a bad mood or a bunch of stress start to befall his friend he will go out of his way to stop Keith in the hallway, with a hand on his shoulder, meet his eyes, and smile
-       And it always makes Keith feel better because Lance has the best smiles
-       When winter break rolls around Lance invites Hunk’s family and Keith’s family to his families holiday party
-       Keith comes alone but he brought Lance a present
-       Lance got Keith a present, too
-       They swap, kinda in secret, because both boy is a little shy about the gesture
-       Keith got Lance a 3D puzzle of a shark that looks like it’s made of glass when it’s put together
-       Lance got Keith a pair of headphones that are noise cancelling
-       “To help sleep on the bus, I know how loud it gets,” Lance tells him
-       Keith can’t explain why his heart jumps at that and tells Lance he wish he could have gotten him something nicer than just a puzzle
-       But Lance denies it and says it’s an amazing gift and makes the two of them put it together then and there and they have so much fun they’re laughing and barely notice anyone else at the party
-       Hunk has an idea of where this might go but he won’t say anything
-       When schools start up again it’s midterms and everyone is super stressed
-       Lance makes sure that Keith gets a smile every day
-       Keith tries to smile back but he’s worried he’s going to fail his midterms
-       He scrapes by
-       Lance actually does pretty well; better than he ever had in middle school and he’s hella proud of himself
-       Football season is over but a bunch of the team is joining the school’s floor hockey team so Keith does, too
-       He tries to convince Lance to join, too, but Lance is worried if he starts a sport he won’t be able to keep up his grades; also, he prefers swimming or soccer to floor hockey and football
-       Of course, he goes to see every single game (just as he saw every football game, too) because Keith is playing
-       Doesn’t matter if he has to travel far for the games
-       There’s only a few months of school left when Lance is outed
-       He’s bi
-       He’d never even had the chance to come out to his friends or close family
-       But someone found his tumblr and started sharing it with everyone
-       And Lance, being someone who won’t stand down, refused to deny it and pretended he didn’t care that now everyone at his Catholic high school now that he was either going to hell or a freak
-       He got bullied a lot
-       And one of the theology teachers even took him aside to tell him that it was wrong that he liked boys and girls
-       He’s never been more ashamed of being himself but he won’t tell anyone this
-       Hunk is still the best friend ever because he stays by Lance through it all even when other people are leaving graffiti in the men’s room about how they’re probably dating
-       Keith doesn’t know what to do when he finds out
-       He’s furious that Lance is being bullied
-       But also… I mean, Lance is gay? Keith doesn’t know if he’s ever actually met someone who was a guy who liked guys (he probably had but he was a very oblivious kid in middle school)
-       Keith doesn’t say anything for a couple days and actually goes out his way to avoid Lance because he feels weird about it but doesn’t know why and hates himself for not being there for his friend
-       But Lance sees Keith is stressed and stops him in the hall with a hand to the shoulder and a smile
-       Someone snickers and Keith flinches
-       Lance’s smile breaks
-       Absolutely shatters
-       And Keith realizes he fucked up bad because Lance is the closest friend he’s ever had
-       So Keith takes a step closer to Lance and puts his hand on Lance’s shoulder and smiles
-       He offers up his best mirror of the type of smile Lance is always giving him
-       Lance is blinking back tears but seeing Keith’s smile makes it okay
-       “I’m an idiot,” Keith tells him and they both know it’s an apology
-       “It’s ok,” Lance forgives him
-       The rest of the year is kind of hell for Lance, though Keith convinces him to join the soccer team with him (he ends up dropping out because the bullying gets worse around the jock boys)
-       He tells Keith not to drop the team, though
-       Keith does, anyways
-       “Better not stop playing football!” Lance tells him and he means it because he knows how much Keith loves football
-       Keith promises he won’t
-       And then school is over and they’ve both made it through their freshman year at high school

Never walking away (Shadam reunion)
They are home
The lions slowly descended around the Garrison headquarters, creating a crowd of instructors and students running outside to see what on Earth is going on. The sky was slowly turning into bright yellows and oranges, as the evening was beginning. They don’t even know how many days have passed since they’ve been here, but it has to have been at least a year.
The plan is that they all land their lions at the garrison. Once they have spread the news of what has happened and the incoming galra ships, the paladins with homes to go to will be able to reunite with their families via car or lion, depending on how far it is. But for now, not one person was thinking about the plan,  because seeing earth, their home is what really mattered.
Shiro breathed in deeply. He was back, after all this time. After everything he had been through, he had changed so much, while it seems like the planet hadn’t changed that much at all. Memories of his and the others adventures in space filled his head, the good and the bad. How many times had he nearly died? He didn’t even know, but before he left for Kerberos he was sure by now he would have already passed away. He had gotten used to the idea, he had to after all. And now living with the fact that he had the rest of his life before him, was so surreal.
But first, they had a war to win. And Shiro had the rest of team voltron to take care of.
He walked over to Keith’s sleeping form, smiling at who he considered his little brother. Keith’s made Shiro swear to wake him up when they were about an hour away, but honestly Keith hadn’t slept properly for awhile, and Shiro didn’t have it in him to wake him up then. Plus, an actual extra hour of being able to pilot Black was something that Shiro desperately wanted, he was still a pilot at heart after all.
“Hey Keith, we’re here bud” And with that Keith shot up like he usually did, Shiro swore that boy was the lightest sleeper known to man. “I told you to wake me up an hour ago! What the hell Shiro?!” “Hey! Language” “I’m an adult, I can say what I want” “Not around me you can’t, now come on, we gotta get out of here”
Keith rolled his eye and smiled, walking ahead while shiro turned back to the front of the lion. “Thanks black, I owe you more than anything” He turned around and followed Keith out, scanning the crowd for any familiar faces.
That’s when he saw him. Adam.
The look on everyone’s face was a mixture between shock and awe, but Shiro found himself only being able to look at the man who he had been thinking about since he left for Kerberos. Adam had obviously changed. His hair had gotten a little bit longer and he seemed to have a scar right on his chin. His expression was filled with confusion but it still held so much warmth and relief, Shiro didn’t even notice himself running. Running to the thing that he had missed the most. He was there, Shiro was running to him like his life depended on it, like nothing else mattered.
As he reached Adam, Shiro felt like his surroundings had disappeared. He felt elated, but the memories of their final conversation still plagued him.
“Adam, I’ve been cleared to go, and... I’m going to, we leave in two days.” Adam turned to face him at that comment, sharply taking a breathe. “Fine, you’ve made your decision and I’ve told you what that means…is that it?” Shiro furrowed his eyebrows, he had expected a cold reaction, but it still caused him a painful aching in his chest. “Listen, I don’t want us to end on a bad note…I-“ Adam winced, obviously trying to not show the amount of pain this was causing him. Desperately clutching onto the uncaring façade he was showing. Pretend that it doesn’t hurt and therefore at least some of the pain doesn’t right? But they were in love. They were… “Is that it Takashi?” Shiro shook his head slightly. Wow, he was really going to do this huh? Act like everything didn’t matter in the end. Like they weren’t goddamn engaged. “No, no that isn’t it. Adam I love you, ok? I really do, and I never wanted to hurt you… I don’t know how to fix this…” The last sentence came out as a sob, and Shiro grabbed Adam’s arm, trying to blink away the heavy tears that were forming in his eyes. Adam closing his eyes, bracing himself for what he was about to say. “Don’t leave. That’s how you fix it just please don’t- don’t…” He took a shaky breath and took a slow step back to properly face Shiro. “I don’t want to lose a year of being with you…to find out you died in the middle of space, not being able to be there…to at least say a proper goodbye. I couldn’t…I can’t deal with this Shiro. I can’t ok? So don’t leave.” Adam was now shaking, trying to swallow his heavy sobs. “I…I’m so sorry Adam I have to. I only have a few years left I…I’m so sorry I have to. I have to go, because if I don’t I know that I would regret it for the rest of my life. I love you, I do, and when I get back we can-“ “No Takashi…just…no ok? I can’t do this. I told you that if you leave, this is over. And it is. It’s over. Now, Officer Shirogane, please leave my office.” Shiro stepped back, hurt as the words Adam had spouted seemed to cut through him like a knife. So that was it then. “Fine, I’ll go.” Turning around was the hardest thing shiro had ever done, and walking to the door was even harder. Before he left he looked back, and locked eyes with his, now ex fiancé. In those eyes he saw all those years spent together. The laughter, the tears. Nervous confessions mixed in with flirty jokes. All the intimate moments they had shared, and all the breathless declarations of love. Shiro turned away, and walked out of that door, forcing himself to leave it all behind.
He didn’t know what to say to him…he didn’t know what to do. After they broke up…so much had changed. Yet somehow it was all just as painful. “Takashi…I’m so sorry.” With that Adam embraced Shiro in his arms, and Shiro felt his head swirl. He had missed this…all of it so much. “I shouldn’t have broken things off, I should’ve been there. I left you when you needed it most and that was horrible of me I’m so so sorry I-“ Shiro interrupted the muffled words with a shush, and rubbed Adam’s back gently. They stood there, in each others arms for what seemed like an eternity, yet when they finally broke it felt like it wasn’t long enough. “Why are you sorry? I should be sorry, I was stupid and selfish and not considering the consequences. It was fool-“ Adam shook his head frantically. “No…Takashi I was the one being selfish. I didn’t even try to come up with an alternative solution I w-“ “Let’s just say we were both at fault?” Adam smiled, and nodded gently. It was a strange relief, but they obviously would need to talk more about this…about everything really, but for a moment, neither of them said a word.
“If it’s any consolation, you were right about the dangers of going to Kerberos…” They slowly made their way to the lions, Shiro still hadn’t really talked to the rest of team voltron, since he did kind of immediately run to Adam after all.   Adam playfully elbowed him and chuckled quietly. Shiro hadn’t heard it in years, and frankly it made him feel almost giddy. Like he was a pining kid again. “Yeah I know about that, did you think I WOULDN’T get every last detail when Sam came back?” “Ah, so you basically grilled him, classic Adam style.” “More like new and improved since I was still freaking out that you were alive after all this time. I mean, the hair and arm is a surprise but still.” Yeah…Shiro wouldn’t mention the fact that he had died and been reincarnated with his clone for a little while…
As they finally regrouped inside the black lion, and the others seemed to not be able to contain themselves with meeting Shiro’s ex fiancé…or maybe even just fiancé? They still needed to talk about that…
“So this is the guy hey? Hmmm…but are you good enough for our Shiro” Hunk walked up to Adam and leaned in close, seemingly inspecting him. “I think he is Hunk, they were engaged remember?” “Keith! Oh my god your so tall now, and you have a…IS THAT A SCAR JESUS!” Adam ran over to Keith, completely panicked as Keith looked absolutely like he had come out of a warzone. Which was completely correct, and frankly the rest of them did too. “You guys have helmets so why on EARTH do you have a scar on your face. What happened to you out there, actually don’t answer. I don’t want to know right now…” Keith laughed a little, “It’s good to see you again Adam.” Adam smiled and ruffled Keith’s hair, a thing that was obviously a habit before Shiro left. “Wait hold on here, so Shiro, Adam, let me get this straight.” Shiro had gradually walked over to Keith and Adam, and at Lance’s comment he gently elbowed Adam. They were engaged before all of this, they had to have some way to communicate internal gay jokes.
“You guys basically have the most iconic love story of all time, Jock meets nerd and become friends. You guys grow up together and end up being the best pilots in the Garrison, slowly falling in love while doing so. And shiro, for some reason, you only RECENTLY TOLD US THIS???” Adam looked over and raised an eyebrow, while Shiro sheepishly scratched the back of his neck.
“Well things were a bit…complicated. And I don’t really think we had a lot of time before to actually talk about it.” Shiro felt Adam shift slightly with the word ‘complicated’. Shiro was right of course, they had broken up and it was extremely painful for both of them.
“Well it is lovely to meet you Adam! My names Allura, and I am from the planet Altea.” Shiro would that her later for changing the subject. Adam stepped back. Sam gave him a quick run down on who the paladins were when he met up with Adam, so he fully well knew who Adam was facing an actual alien, alien royalty at that…and understandably he was freaking out a bit. “Oh uh yes…it’s an honour to meet you Allura. And all of you guys.”
That was the start of everyone’s brief introductions, and frankly, it was obvious who Adam bonded with the most.
“I don’t know how you dealt with him…he’s constantly getting himself in danger I don’t know how he does it!” “I barely know myself…I swear it’s like there could be a big glowing sign that said “don’t do this alarmingly reckless thing” and he’d probably do it in spite of the SIGN!” To be fare, Keith did obviously get it from his mother, so the entire conversation was painfully ironic to listen to. And Shiro was awkwardly hoping to not get blamed for Keith’s recklessness from Adam.
“Ok, I think that’s everyone, guys let’s continue with the plan. I’m going to go and find Commander Iverson to tell him what’s going on, if you all have any friends that you want to reunite with here, do it now. Krolia, Allura, Romelle, Coran, stay in black for now like you guys have been doing. There is a bunch of press and a big enough crowd to last a lifetime, and you guys would certainly be more safe in here than out there.”
Big robotic lions were enough, actual aliens on Earth right now would make everyone lose their minds.
“Let’s go guys!” Adam smiled fondly at Shiro. He really had become a great leader huh? He always was, but seeing how much everyone respected and cared for him…it made Adam proud. “I’m going with you, Iverson is too much of an asshole to deal with alone.” Pidge snorted in response, and with that, everyone got on the move.
Shiro and Adam left the lion, and before they could actually enter the giant crowd Adam pulled shiro to the side of Black and behind the head of yellow, somewhat hiding them from the giant swarm of people who were now swarming Lance, Pidge and Hunk with questions.
“Look, I know things are hectic right now and we just reunited only an hour ago, and it’s fine if you can’t answer right now but I want to ask you..” “Just tell me Adam” “After this has ended, when the war has finished…can we try this again. We still have to properly talk of course…but I’m not going to give up on this, us, again.” There was a brief moment of silence, back then, shiro had thought it was the end. And the break up was one of the worst things he had gone through in his entire life. Leaving Adam for Kerberos was agonising enough, and when he was kidnapped by the Galra…convinced he was leaving him, Keith and the rest of his family for good…it was torture. But he was here, with Adam. And Shiro was completely willing to rebuild that life that they had. It meant the world to him.
He hugged Adam once again, whispering “of course” gently into his ear. They both separated for a quick moment, and then gently kissed. Neither of them would be able to describe how it felt, but if they had to choose one word, they would both immediately say ‘home’.
“Well…we should probably..” “Yeah…” “You know, I still have a lot to catch you up on…” “True, and you better tell me all of it. Every last detail Takashi Shirogane.” “I promise I will tell you about all of it, even the gross stuff.” “Thankyou, I am honoured. And I have to catch you up on a lot too. Like last years Christmas party was TERRIBLE. Lena brought a bowl of sunflower seeds as her savoury dish, who does that?” “Sounds like I’ve missed out on the real important news of Galaxy Garrison…but sunflower seeds? Really? I mean that’s an all time low…” “I know right? We can’t ever let her host it I’ll tell you that.”
Shiro and Adam stopped for a moment, and stared at each other. In those eyes Shiro saw the same things he saw all those years ago. All those years spent together. The laughter, the tears. Nervous confessions mixed in with flirty jokes. All the intimate moments they had shared, and all the breathless declarations of love. But shiro wasn’t leaving them. And as he carefully held onto Adam’s hand, he absolutely knew. He was never going to walk away from him again
(Hey guys! so basically in this lil piece Earth hasn’t been attacked by the Galra yet because I want things to at least be alright when they return home dammit. Although that is most likely not going to happen. I wanted to do a little a little reunion so here it is!)

Rant on Voltron season 8
I dont know how long this will be and im sorry if i ramble.
Okay so i just finish watching Voltron and let me tell you i am not amused. And it is more than just the last episode. I mean that was pretty weak in my opinion. I know some people liked it. Power to them. But not me. I felt like my intelligence had been insulted.
First i will start with Allura. I knew when I first started watching Voltron that she was going to die. And at first i was like "yea okay, last altean, i see where they are going with this". I didnt really like her character at first. She seem to happy, and just to much. But as the seasons when on i felt like she gained something. She wasn't just this hollow, one dimension, self sacrificing character. But at the same time i felt like she was constantly trying to die to save people and that's good and all but it was way overused (not just with her but all the paladins) and i just felt it was really stupid. Like you are the only people who can save the universe (and all realitys) and yet you are willing to throw away your life at the drop of a hat. 💁‍♀️ bitch what. And then with her romance with Lotor. That just rubbed me the wrong way. I get it. She thought he was the last one of her kind. I just felt forced. Like really forced. It felt to me like a plot point and nothing more.
Then we have Lance. Some things with his character were really good. Like he was a ladies man but not in the creepy way that a lot of them are played out to be. He was kind and never tried to really force his was with Allura and i loved that. He respected her and didn't treat her like some object that he could have if he tried hard enough. Everyone knew he liked her but he wasn't constantly showing her with affection and offers and gifts like i have seen over and over again in TV shows. It was really refreshing. But outside of that there wasn't much to his character. He could shoot well, yea. But that's not really a character trait. Just a skill. I think they could have done so much with his character if they tried. But he was literally like a side character the entire time. Nothing about his character really shown through the whole show. He was just sure of himself and sometimes but the team in danger. Plus he was super annoying at times. Don't get me wrong i think hes a good character but just way under done.
Next us Keith's character. I think he went though the most changes thought Voltron. With a few occational backtracks. He started out as this out cast kid who didn't like authority and wanted to be alone (the emo kid) into someone whole led the fight against the Galra. (More about becomig leader later). And i loved his character growth, but we didnt really get to see it happen. One minute he was with his mom outside of the Colony the next he's back with Voltron and hes ready to be a leader. Before he left he was still this kid who was running away from responsiblitly, running g away from being the Black Paladin and then he gets back to the ship and boom hes a leader. I understand he aged and matured and probably learned a thing or two from his mother but we never really see that. Shiro was alway "ill never give up on you" but it didnt make him the leader. Another thing that frustrated me was when Shiro left for space Keith got himself kicked out of the Garrison. Its kinda like all the stiff Shiro did to get him in and keep him in was for nothing. Especially after they thought he died. All those flash back and the time he spent with him added up to nothing. Sure it was used later to show the bond between them and help them a time or two, and that great, but i feel like that could have been achieved though the other things they went through. I also find it weird that no one ever knew that he wasn't fully human, i feel like something would have shown before he activated the Blade. All other half breeds showed outwardly that they were part Galra but he didnt. He looked totally human until then. Once again i think it was a plot point. Especially when Allura was avoiding him because he was part Galra was super stupid, or at least i thought. Mainly because i feel like really had no reason to dislike him, like he never did anything and she was like "thats because your Galra". He wasn't mean or anything. Loner, yes. I dont know it just kinda made me made.
Pidge is next. I feel like Pidges main thing was learning to accept herself and find her brother. I like how they did it and that she didnt start dressing girly once they found out. She was who she wanted to be. And being male or female didnt change that. Even when she got back to earth. I also low key forgot they were looking for her brother and farther like half way through because they never really made way on it until she saw the picture of her brother. I mean yes they hinted at it. But it seemed like she put it on a back burner, then all of a sudden it was all she cared about. And that just doesn't seem very Pidge to me. And even thought she is a girl they didnt make her less of a character than the rest like Allura was for a while. She was always super important and stayed that way.
I dont really have much to say about Hunk. I loved him and he was a good supporting character to the main people but that's just about all her was.
Okay now one of the things i really didnt like about the whole thing. The switching lion. Why, why..... why. To me it felt silly and unessisary. At the time Keith was no where near being ready to pilot the black lion and Allura had been a dull character. Lance was perfect for Blue and Keith for Red. But when they switched it made me feel like they were being forced into role that really didnt belong. I feel like Allura should have piloted the black lion in Shiros absences but given it back when Shiro returned. She had shown.she was a leader and respected by everyone and it was almost a slap in the face to see her in the blue lion. And Lance in the red lion felt wrong too. Shiro should have stayed Black paladin and in his absence Allura. Like a mom and dad duo. (Not ship wise tho) They gave off the vibes of both being the leaders, Shiro being the to and Alloura his second i command. As i srated ealier Keith did eventually step up as a leader but i feel like as the red lion he could have been a leader like Shiros right hand man. I feel like the shift was unessisary and cause more problems then it solved. And then they didnt change out fits either so you have the red paladin wearing a blue outfit and the black paladin wearing a red outfit. It irked me to no end seeing that. Like you change lion you change suit. Boi 😤🙏
And then the last season. Oof. I feel like it was pulling in so many different directions. It was so much confusing, more like info overload. They could have either made another season or took some pointless thing out. Like they kept having to prove their bond with each other every other episode. It got boring. I under stand it happening once or twice but how often i heard Keith saying we have to work together it the power is within was over kill. They already established they were super strong together. I understand they wanting the audience to know that were strong but really. Almost every episode. Come on. Give me a break. It almsot it like their bond before wasn't really a bond so they had to do it again. But whatever.
Now Alluras death. Let me tell you that made me mad. Like wtf. The was they did it was alomst lien they pulled ut out of their ass. "Hey how should we end this" "i dont know... it had to be something epic" "how about all the paladin combine their strength with all the last paladins and Hagger and fix the universe and channel it thought Allura ( how i thought it should have gone. Because we literally see the past paladins before she goes but idk) " naw lets just kill Allura and make it as unrealistic and simple as possible". I feel like they could have done so much more, something so much more meaningful. It just felt so rushed and almost pointless. Like they didnt know what to do and took out the most useless paladin and called it a day. It just wa ssooo freaking stupid and dull. And then when They were saying goodbye they were all okay with it. Didn't question it. Didn't try to come up with a different solution like they have done ever time in the past that someone tried to sacrifice theirselves. Nope just was like if you say so. Boop. Big freaking ooof. Like ever other time someone tried to sacrafice themselves they found a was to do something else but there they where kind ooc a bit. And lance. Man. I feel like he was under reacted. That was the love of his life. The girl he would never get over a d he barely argued. Like no. No. Just no. All his character development, poof gone. All im saying is they wouldn't have just accepted it. Of all the things they went through i just dont think they would.
Lastly the after credit(?) Thing. There was so much wrong with that. Like lance. I feel like he would have not moved on per say but found someone else to love. Because Allura wouldn't have wanted him to grow up and be alone for the rest of his life. It was sad and kinda pathetic. She would have wanted him to find a nice girl and have little baby lances. Instead he was forever heart broken and unable to move on. Blah. And Chip i wanted more about chip. Why did she build him. Was he supposed to be a son like figure because he looked like a child. Did he even work. I have so many questions. And then Shiro marring some random bimbo. They had no build up, nothing. He just in a few shots aboard the Atlas. It felt like a last minute decision. They could have done so much with them becoming a thing. But nope they show Shiro may or may not have been with Adam and then decided just to give him a random gay marriage. They aaidsomething about him finding happiness but never once did it seem like that was what he was looking for throughout the show. Not like Lance was. He never even seemed interested in anyone thought out the whole thing. Like maybe he traveled the first earth mission thought space or something idk. It made his character feel sallow.
End of rant. If you disagree with me or think i jave something wrong feel free to discuss it with me. Like and adult.
Thanks for your time.

Drunken Mistakes
by klanced-against-my-will
Note: this is my first fan fiction, so let’s be nice, okay?
CHAPTER ONE
I didn't hate Keith Kogane. It's just that I highly disliked what his existence represented. It had always interfered with my success. Our grades had always been neck to neck from the moment we were first put in the same class in 6th grade. As fate would have it against me, we had been in the same classes in all the years to follow, even the optional ones. It was annoying, really. Our mutual friends -- I'll get to them later -- often teased us about our long-lasting feud. Maybe they were right, but I always felt like it was a part of my everyday life. A routine of teasing and bickering and bragging and fighting. Everything became a competition between us two. Grades. Soccer performance. Drinking. We had even both came out within a month of each other -- that one was unfortunate and unplanned. Learning that he was gay had only made me even more frustrated. He was even better at being gay than me, the boring bisexual. Like, we get it! You're an over-achiever! So yeah, of course, we had mutual friends. We had friends of our own, but the astronomy club was common ground. There was Hunk, my best friend and most genuine guy ever. Never far behind him was Pidge, the little tech nerd and meme expert of the gang. They were always hacking something our inventing software. Shiro and Allura were a couple of too pretty to be real lovebirds that always came as an item. But our club was soon to be disintegrated by the end of our high school careers. I was currently rereading my last test of the senior year for the second time, making sure that no mistake had slipped in. I was anxious for the evening. Our lame school didn't have a prom, so Ben Richards, the heir of some pharmaceutical empire, was opening his lake house to the whole promotion. The dress code was "Anything that wouldn't get you laid." Kind of dumb, but I loved it. "Okay, pencils down. You're done with high school, people," said the bored teacher sitting at the desk at the front of the class. We all jumped of happiness, screaming. I ran to the hallway, my eyes searching for curly blond hair. "Lance!”
I turned around just as Nyma tied her arm around my neck, kissing me.  I kiss her back, my hands on her hips. We had been dating for about ten months now and seeing her face never stopped being a breath of fresh air.
She broke away from my face, the screaming around us feeding her smile. "We did it! We freaking did it, Lancelot!" She was the only one to call me that, saying that I was her "knight in shining armor." "Finally!" I laughed. "We are staying in touch even if you are going to Spain, right?" "I don't know, you tell me, Ny. Are sure you can live without my sweet presence in your life?" "I know I could," interrupted a voice beside me. My head jolting to the left, I frowned at the mulleted head that was unlocking a locker. "We didn't ask for your opinion, Charlie Sheen." "Well, how about you don't make out with your girlfriend in front of my locker and I won't give it to you, Mclain?" He had turned around to face me at this point, a smirk dancing on his stupid face. Man was he pale! "You don't own the hallway, assbutt!" "And you don't own the rights to Supernatural and here we are!" Nyma pulled on my sleeve. "Lance, let's just go, he's not worth it." Keith gave her a bad look like he wanted to punch her or something. "Oh, by the way, Nyma, I heard that Rolo was looking for you." She blushes a bit, pulling me harder. "Thanks. I'll find him later." I gave Keith a dark look and followed her, wondering where his animosity for Nyma was coming from. "So, let's go to your place." Shaking the feeling away, I lighted up and took her hand in mine. "Yes. Of course. Did I tell you that Marco agreed to buy us beers?" Her smile was back. "Great!" *** It was almost one AM, and I was positively on the verge of being shitfaced. I was currently grinding on the dance floor/grass to Destiny's Childs' Bootylicious like no one was watching. Surely I looked like an idiot with my gelled hair, brown polo buttoned all the way up, high white cargo shorts, white socks, and yellow sandals, but I couldn't bring myself to care in a crowd full of people looking exactly the same. So I was dancing with Hunk because he was always down to move his imposing body. Plus, it helped that he was as drunk as me.  All my friends were here, scattered around the house and garden, talking to people they had never talked to with the desperation of the end, scared of missing out on knowing these people. I didn't bother. Most people already had their preconceived ideas of me. True, I was obnoxious and somewhat loud and a little absurd, but I liked to think that it was part of my charm. I sipped my sangria, careful not to spill it while dancing. "Dude, this is the best party ever," screamed Hunk to cover the music. "Agreed!" And that was all that was to say. We didn't want to talk about the fact that it was also the last party ever. That was too depressing to think about. A hand grabbed my shoulder from behind, turning me around. It was Shiro. I smiled at him before noticing the frown on his face. "What's wrong?" "I can't find Allura," he yelled in my ear. I nodded, walking out of the dancing crowd, Hunk on my heels. "Let's look for her. I'll cover the west side of the house, Shiro you go east and Hunk, look for her outside, make sure to go to the beach, she might have gone for a swim with Pidge. They can be pretty convincing." Happy with my plan, they scattered in their respective direction. I looked for Nyma for a second. I had last seen her sitting by the bonfire with her friend Sandy. She wasn't there anymore. I didn't think much of it. She was a pretty independent girl, always very confident in herself. That was what had drawn me in at first. I decided to start with the upper floor, wobbling a little in the stair. There are people pretty much everywhere, all looking more undateable than the other. I opened door after door, but people making out was the only greeting I got. No Beauty queen with silver hair. I got down to the first floor and knocked on the door of the bathroom. The door opened on Allura, the front of her shirt dripping water. "Hey, princess! What happened to you?" "Belinda dropped her rum and coke on me," she giggled, her face flushed. I could tell that she was tipsy. "Well, you got Shiro looking everywhere for you. You should go tell him you are okay. He's somewhere in the east wing." She smiled, hugging me. Yeah, she was a pretty cuddly drunk. "Thanks, Lance! You're a pearl to behold!" With that, she let go of me and walked towards her boyfriend. "Stop that!," I heard, coming from the next room. This part of the house wasn't nearly as loud, allowing me to recognize Nyma's voice. Intrigued by her giggles, I opened the door behind me. It took my brain a second to catch up on what it was seeing. The living room was well lit, the white furniture and abundance of mirrors making it look like a spaceship. To be honest, that wasn't the part that shocked me. A boy was laying on the couch, a girl toping him. She was chuckling as he kissed her neck, her hands under his shirt. I'm not sure why, but in that moment, I wasn't mad. I stayed completely calm and coughed loudly twice. Nyma's smile disappeared in an instant, her eyes going wide as she looked at me. "Lance!" "Good observation skills, Nyma. But I think mines are better. I observe that we are, in fact, over. You can go back to your making out, now." "No! It's not... It's not what you think!" she claimed, standing up and readjusting her clothes. I ticked at that. "I might be single now, but I was never stupid, Nyma. Goodbye." She screamed after me, as I walked out, still too calm for the situation. My head felt fuzzy and I didn't know what to do. I walked into the ballroom -- yes, this house had a freaking ballroom-- and my heart stopped as people were everywhere around me. My breathing became harsh. I couldn't really see faces, my eyes flashing back to Nyma's hands on Rolo's chest. The pulse of the music cracked in my stomach. Yep. I was having a panic attack. "Hey! watch where you're going, idiot!" said a voice as I collided with a solid body. Turning around, I saw Keith's pale face. I had never been this happy to see him. He was familiar. He could help. Surely he didn't hate me enough to not help me, right? I couldn't say anything, so I just stared at him, mouth and eyes wide. He frowned and seemed to catch up pretty fast, grabbing my wrist and tracing the way out of the crowd. He led me out of the house, grabbing a bottle of whiskey on some forgotten table. He didn't stop outside, didn't stop at the edge of the wood, didn't stop when it became so dark that I couldn't see my own feet. He only stopped on the verge of a calm stream, helping me hike onto a big rock, sitting beside me. "There. Now you can freak out. Nobody's here. Nobody to judge." And freak out I did. I sobbed like a crazy person, unable to breathe properly, scratching my arms up and down, unbuttoning my polo to feel less caged. He didn't say anything, just sat there beside me, sipping whiskey from the bottle and looking at the water. I knew he was no stranger to panic attacks. What I didn't know was that he was good at handling them. After what felt like an eternity, my sobs calmed down and I took deep breaths in, looking at my surroundings to distract myself.   The moon was full, giving us enough light to see the stream and the trees around us. The crickets were going at it like crazy, but other than that, the silence was total. "Better?" said, Keith, breaking the peace. "Yeah... Thanks..." I whispered, not sure of how to act. We were never ones to talk about stuff. But at that moment I wanted to tell him everything. "So... What happened? You saw yourself in a mirror?" I chuckled. "You're one to talk. Did you not know the theme, or did you rebel against it?" He was wearing a tuxedo, and I wouldn't have told anyone ever, but he looked damn good in it. "I never get laid anyway. You're the only other somewhat gay guy at school and we're not about to fuck, are we?" "Sadly, no." We both laughed. Hard. Because we were drunk and this situation was ridiculous. My laugh turned to tears, my hand covering my face. "I caught her making out with Rolo." "I knew it!" I turned towards him, confused. "What do you mean you knew?" He looked guilty for a second. "Well, I saw them together in the park last Sunday... I didn't think much of it at first, but then I heard him talking about Nyma in the cafeteria. He wasn't being really respectful, let's just say that. And I may or may not have punched him for talking shit..." "Wait, you punch the guy?" "Well, he was being an asshole and, I don't know, it got the best of my nerves. Could have been worse though. I could have stabbed him. Principal Zarkon gave me an essay to do about unnecessary violence." I couldn't believe it. He had punched a guy to protect her honor. Or my honor, in some way. I stared at him, his face a little shy like he was embarrassed by what he had done. "Thank you, Keith." He had a small smile before turning to face the stream. He took another sip from the bottle. "You know, I think I can count on two hands how many times you've called me by my actual first name in seven years." I snatched the whiskey from him. "Well, that's because your name is stupid." I downed a big slump of liquor, the heat of it burning my throat. "Now my name is stupid?" "Yeah, you just need a middle name like Karen or some shit and you'll have the initial of a racist group." "KKK?" "Hey! You have a brain under that mullet!" We laughed. He had a nice laugh and I asked myself how I had never noticed that. "So... Nyma and Rolo." I felt my chest tightened. "Yes. I dumped her." "Good decision. You deserve better than being cheated on." I raised an eyebrow at him, surprise. "I mean... Everyone deserves better than that, obviously... what I meant to was that I sorry you had to endure that." That's when the thought first crossed my mind. Keith's lips look very kissable. "Lance...? You okay, dude?" I looked back to his eyes. I blamed the next events on the alcohol. "Keith, have you ever kissed a boy?" "What? That's none of your business, Mclain." He turned away, putting his frowning profile to me. I turned toward the stream too. Silence fell for a second. "I've never kissed a boy. Like you said, you're my only prospect and... well, we've always been too preoccupied with beating each other in every way possible to actually make an effort to like each other," I confessed. "I've had people tell me that I wasn't really bi if I had never kissed a boy. Which is stupid." He turns back to me for a second. "Do you think... no, nevermind." "What is it?" "I said never mind." "And I said 'what is it.' Spit it out already." He chewed on his lip, playing with the label of the bottle. "Do you ever think... that we should have been friends? That we missed out on knowing each other because we were so caught up in fighting to be the best?" I tilted my head, looking at him like it was the first time that I saw him. He was still bitting his lip. His hair was brushed back away from his face, and it was too dark to see the purple of his eyes. He looked as pale as ever. His words turned in my mind. He was right. Absolutely right. I mean, we were in all the same classes, club, and sports team, had a lot of friends and interests in common. Our egos were the only thing keeping us away. "You're right." He blinked twice, surprised that I was agreeing with him for once. "Shocking, I know," I whispered to preserve the quiet of the moment. And then, probably because of the half bottle of whiskey sitting in his stomach, Keith leaned over, closing his eyes, putting his lips on mine. I wouldn't say it was unexpected. I would say it was awkward. We didn't move our lips for a beat too long, only resting our mouth against one another. I didn't close my eyes, too stunned and drunk to react properly. My heart was beating like crazy in my ears, my face hot and body stiffed. I was kissing Keith. Well, I wouldn't really have called it kissing. My lips were touching Keith's. Yeah, that's more accurate. He pulled away, opening his eyes and frowning. "That was... a horrible first kiss." Snapping out of my stupor, I raised my eyebrows. "You took me by surprise. Had I known, I would have shown you a better time!" He chuckled. "Ya, right." That got my pride boiling. I was average in a lot of things, but not kissing. I was a fantastical kisser. "I would have you known that I'm a great kisser." "Yeah, that's why Nyma cheated on you. Because you were too good of a kisser. It was too much for her." That got the wind knocked out of me.   Instant regret showed on his face. "Sorry, too soon. That was just mean." I was getting angry, I could feel it turning in my stomach with the liquor. I am an impulsive person. That's no surprise. But what I did next came as a shock to both of us. I extended my hand and grabbed the back of his head, smashing his lips on mine. I did not stay still this time. I started really kissing Keith, and he played along eagerly after the initial shock of my actions. He grabbed my upper arm and my collar, bringing me closer to him. I put my hand on his hip as the other one was tugging on his mullet.  Our mouths were at war, fighting to make sure the other knew that we weren't going to stop first. I bit his bottom lip and he groaned, pulling away to catch his breath. I didn't let him go far and kissed his jaws, his throat, his collarbone, his ear, my tongue and teeth running on every bit of skin they could. "Lance..." Him moaning my name made a string inside of me snap, burying any self-control I had deep in the back of my mind. I pulled myself onto him, my tights straddling his, his lips back on mine in a heartbeat, my tongue darting into his mouth, tasting the whiskey. His arms went around me to keep me against him, my hands around his neck. He tugged on my shirt to free it from my belt, the tip of his fingers sending shivers down my spine as the brushed against the small of my back. "What the fuck are we doing..." I whispered, pulling away for air. Trees were spinning in my vision, my stomach flinching and my head feeling dizzy. Keith wasn't having it, pulling my shirt away and biting my shoulder. Hard. "Keith, I think I'm gonna..." I unwrapped my arms from his neck and pulled myself from his laps, barely reaching the edge of the rock before emptying my stomach. "Oh, my God, Lance, are you okay?" I turned to lay on my back, the moon above me letting me see the shape of his head, but not any of his features. "I think I had too much to drink." And on that note, I passed out.
Okay, thanks for reading! Part 2 and 3 are already written, I’m just waiting to see what people think of this first chapter before posting them.
Also, I know Shallura isn’t a thing, but Adam wasn’t in our lives when I wrote this. We’ll see what the futur holds...

VLD SPOILERS. DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERS
Ok wassup yall. Its 8:32 pm at night and I have finally finished Voltron Season 7. Here are my thoughts….
DISCLAIMER: IM NOT SENDING HATE AT ALL TO THE CAST OR WRITERS. THEY ARE PHENOMENAL AND IM JUST EXPRESSING MY THOUGHTS IN A CALM MANNER. OK THANK YOU.
A D A M - What. Happened. I. Didn’t. Think. He. Would. Be. Dead. I thought we were gonna bond with him and see some cute Shiro and Adam. I thought they would get together and hash all out all their problems. So… I guess that’s not what we saw. I was shell shocked to see him dead. At first, I thought he would be like Matt. Everyone would think he’s dead with his tombstone but turns out he secretly would have survived. But seeing how they deeply emphasized his death in the last episode, I don’t think it was the case.
T H E A L T E A N - So me and my friend were watching Voltron together and when that new robot approached, I automatically thought….”That robot is giving me some Altean vibes but it is also giving me some Galran vibes too… hmmm… could it be Lotor with his generals? Wait no… LOTOR AND HIS ALTEAN COLONY?” Aaaaaaannnnnnnd BOOM. It turned out to be an Altean! I don’t really know what to think. I wouldn’t think an Altean would attack Voltron since their leader created it. I’m guessing it is an Altean under the impression that Voltron killed Lotor since Lotor hasn’t been seen (except for that pretty weird game show episode). And moooovvvvvviiiing on to my next point….
L O T O R - First off, I wasn’t really expecting Lotor to come back immediately in this season. I always thought he would come back in the last season and deep down… I was hoping for his redemption. Joaquim Dos Santos once said that Lotor had good intensions but his morals were bad (he said something like that feel free to correct me). So, I’m guessing we will see some redemption. But seeing how he came back in the game show episode… I really don’t know what to think tbh. But I really do hope we see him again as he did provide some interesting plot with his really cool character and personality.
T H E G A M E S H O W - Ok let me get something off of my chest, that game show episode was pretty freaking crazy. I personally don’t think it lived up to the other comedic relief episodes (Monsters and Mana, Space Mall). Buuuuttt… It was pretty cool. I was just a little confused seeing Zarkon again since I thought he was dead. But then again, I think I’ll just assume it was for plot convenience. I did appreciate the little Lance humor and Keith banter between the two. I low-key missed that. I did kind of like how Pidge was chosen to save Lance which was cute.
H U N K - HUNK WAS MVP IN THIS SEASON. He came through and deeply improved. We saw a completely new side of him which I absolutely loved. Hats off to you, Lauren and your team. You did an amazing job with his character as it totally came with a bang to all of us. Our cinnamon roll is frickin awesome. The Keith and Hunk hug was so sweet and just beautiful.
E A R T H -  Tbh… It was kind of weird seeing the paladins on earth defending and joining the Garrison. Don’t get me wrong though! It was pretty good. My friend called it when the general was working with Sendak and I kind of screamed because I didn’t expect her to be right. The Katie and Colleen hug was so sweet and ‘Uncle Lance’ killed me.  AND VERONICA… SO FRICKIN COOL. The Voltron crew did an exceptional job with her character! But it did kind of killed me a little to see Earth already fallen and having the paladins jumping into something so big. I kind of wished they got a break seeing how earlier in this season, they went through hell. Getting lost in space and dealing with so many battles was just so tiring for them (and me lmao). But I really hope things will calm down the next season (I mean it probably won’t because it is the last season with the altean and everything)
K E I T H - I never liked Keith Kogane that much and a lot of my irl and online friends know this (but I totally don’t hate his stans nor his VA. I also don’t hate the Voltron crew for how they have written him. Love them all, I just don’t like Keith Kogane, the Voltron character.) I remember in 80s Voltron, it mostly specialized on Keith and I was hoping that it wouldn’t be the same formula for this one. This season and some other seasons have specialized on Keith. I mean, It was fine I guess, but I just thought to point out how it really just looked on him. I mean of course there was Hunk, but that was like a mini thing with Keith being the main dish. What do you guys think about this? Do you think it is good that Keith is the main character in these plots?
Ok… I don’t really want to dive in on this topic…. Ships. I mean…. it kind of is way too touchy right now. And my Plance heart kind of died at the end. And a ship I don’t necessarilly agree with happened ( well sort of happened ). And by don’t agree, I don’t mean I hate it. I don’t ship hate, I’m just expressing my opinion in a calm manner. I really hope people don’t get offended. But moving on from Lance ships…..
Keith ships kind of surprised me. So many people thought Keith was gay but I guess that is not the case. Well actually…. he didn’t show any sure fire signs of Acxa so….. nvm on that. And Zethrid and Ezor were the only ones that talked about it. Acxa didn’t even give any input or show any reaction towards it. Tbh I thought the only reason Acxa would support Keith would be because Keith saved her life at Lotor’s crowning. I would have never suspected she would actually like him as a human being. So many people also thought Kallura was happening, but at this point, I’m so lost.
Hunk and Romelle. I thought it was cute as hell. Never really saw it being cannon, but if it did, I would support. I always thought Hunk and Shay would be together seeing how they bonded so much in earlier seasons. I’m glad she came back to him and is now on Earth. I guess Season 8 will finally give us answers on who’s gonna be who.
Alright this post was so damn long. Took me about 30 min to write it ahaha. If you have made it this far, thank you for listening to what I have to say. And in case anyone is still thinking this, I am not hating on the season or the ships hinted. This is all just my opinon and if you disagree, that is totally fun. I would love to all talk about this peacefully. I want to know what you guys think about this season! See ya later Paladudes.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before Klance AU
K so last night I deadass stayed up so I could catch this movie drop at midnight (gotta support an Asian female lead in a rom com REPRESENT) and holy god it was so good? Like rom coms really aren't my thing, like all of the recent ones have been so cringy but this one was AMAZING. Fake dating? Good shit. Anyway I throughout the movie I was like SHIT this would be a hella good Klance AU so here's a quick outline for it.
Spoilers for To All the Boys I've Loved Before!
So Keith is a loner who likes to live more in books than in reality. He likes the idea of romance, but actually being in a relationship? Yeah no, he couldn't handle that. Not that anyone would ever be interested in him like that anyway. And there's the fact that he's gay, so there's a huge chance that most of his crushes don't swing that way.
And Keith does have crushes. He just never acts on them. Instead, he writes his crushes letters and then he moves on. He figures it's better than stewing on them forever. Still, he can't bring himself to get rid of them...
Keith lives with his single mom, (Krolia), his older brother Shiro, and younger sister Katie, who prefers Pidge (I know it's a little strange but I didn't know who else to play the lil sis)
Keith can't drive. He's gay. Gays can't drive. Science. (As a gay, I can confirm this science) (plot relevant)
Shiro has a boyfriend named Adam, who's great! Unfortunately, Keith thinks he's a little too great and accidentally develops a crush on him too. He gets a letter and Keith accepts the fact that Adam and Shiro were made for each other. Until Shiro decides to break up with Adam before Shiro goes of for college.
Everyone's shocked, including Keith. Keith manages to stay friends with Adam (Keith is a junior, Adam is a senior, Shiro is going to college) but it's kind of weird since Keith has some lingering feelings.
OH and the guys that Keith wrote the letters to were Rolo from camp, James Griffin from mock trial, Ryan Kinkade from homecoming, Lance McClain who was his first kiss during a game of spin the bottle, and Adam.
So it's the first day of school and Keith wears his fingerless gloves (they belonged to his dad, so he wears them when he needs to have some confidence)
He has a run in with Nyma, who he used to be friends with but she kind of ditched him when she found cooler friends. She's dating Lance, hottie of the school. She makes fun Keith's fingerless gloves before Lance drags her away to class.
Keith's best friend is Allura, who is super cool and leads her life in her own way. She gives Keith some very needed confidence.
Keith nearly runs over Lance while backing out if the parking lot. Keith dies a little. Pidge, who Keith is taking home, is not amused with his driving skills but is pretty interested in the boy. She's the only one who knows about Keith's letters, and decides that Keith needs a boyfriend so she decides to send the letters and hopes for the best (lmao in the movie the girl is like 11-12 so it's a little more believable)
The next day Lance comes up to Keith during PE and is like "yo I know we kissed once in the 7th grade but I don't think this is gonna work...Nyma and I just broke up-" and Keith is like W H A T and he sees the letter in his hand. And Keith freaks out and tries to explain that he wrote that years ago, but he gets interrupted by the sight of Adam making his way across the field, a letter in his hand. This freaks Keith out even MORE and he knows he needs to convince Adam that he doesn't like him and before he knows it he's kissing Lance. Adam is...confused enough to save the conversation for another day. Keith is relieved that that worked, until he realized SHIT HE KISSED LANCE so cue running away. Lance is v confused.
Keith runs to the bathroom, but before long he here's a knock on the stall, and a letter is slid underneath the door. It's Kinkade. Double shot. Luckily Kinkade is cool, he explains he's straight and Keith explains the whole situation. Kinkade promises not to tell anyone and Keith actually gains a friend from the experience (btw Kinkade danced with Keith at HoCo because he thought he looked lonely, he's a sweety)
Keith goes back home but FUCK Adam knocks on the door, so naturally Keith jumps off the roof and runs to his fave diner. (Diner is run by Coran)
Keith is sure he's safe, until Lance takes a seat beside him. Turns out, Lance had actually been looking for him. See Lance is still v confused and he was looking for some answers. Keith tells him a half truth, that he kissed him so that his brother's ex boyfriend wouldn't know that he had a crush on him. Lance is pretty stunned about the explanation but he's understanding. In fact he actually has an idea.
Lance offers this: he and Keith can fake date. Adam will think Keith doesn't have feelings for him, and Nyma will get jealous and want Lance back.
Keith is like FUCK NO. That's a horrible idea and decides it's best if he just sees where this could go. However, as he sleeps on it, the more he seems to think that it might actually be a good idea...
Keith, ever so blunt, marches up to Lance during his lacrosse practice and is like "aight let's do this" and Lance is like "sweet" and he kisses Keith right in front of the entire team. Great start for the rumors. And Keith is like "wOw oKaY iT's hApPeniNg"
Him and Lance set up ground rules. No more kissing, Lance is confused by that. Keith had to go to parties with Lance, and Keith is not happy about that. Keith makes an X-Files reference, which Lance doesn't get. Keith adds "watch X-Files to the contract" while Lance adds a movie of his own (idk what reference oof) and then Lance brings up The Ski Trip. Students go to a ski lodge every year, and it's notorious for hookups. If Lance brings Keith, they're FOR SURE dating. But that's a few months away? This whole thing will probably be over by then so there's no point anyway.
The school is SHOCKED to see them together. Including Adam. (He sees Lance as his lil bro so) And they've got everyone fooled, even their families.
Lance takes Keith to a party, and tells Keith to ditch the fingerless gloves (he doesn't want to hold hands with gloves all night) and so Keith gives them to Lance to hold. They take pics of each other for their lockscreen
Also Lance calls Keith Mullet, of course
At the party, Nyma is super jealous. She corners Lance in the bathroom and talks shit on Keith. Sure Lance wants to get back together with her, but he doesn't like the way she talks about Keith. She spots the gloves in Lance's pocket and makes sure to grab them when he's not looking.
Lance takes Keith home early, but the grab food at the diner. They have a pretty cute convo, until Keith reminds Lance that this is all fake. Lance gets upset and Keith begins to feel like he's actually falling for Lance. Lance gets over it and they grow closer and closer as the months go by
Along the way, they realize they have a lot in common, especially in family. Lance's mmo is pretty absent after she walked out on his dad, and Keith's dad died in a fire when he was pretty young. Both grieve together, but become closer because of it.
Before they know it, The Ski Trip is already here and on the trip, they reveal they like each other.
Everything seems great until Nyma talks to Keith, and mentions how cool it is that he didn't mind that her and Lance shared a room. And while she's doing that, she's wearing Keith's gloves. She notices him staring and she says that Lance gave them to her.
Now Keith is SAD and breaks things off with Lance, convinced that he's just another fuckboi
Oh my God this has gone so long but long story short THEY FALL IN LOVE IN THE END
Feel free to add things on? I left a lot of things out but yeah. This au is. Made for Klance. Also there's so much room to add in more characters like Hunk and Matt and the Earth squad
But yeah I love this movie ok

Hide - Chapter 3
                                    previous          next          chapter list
Today in class Lance brought all his makeup to practice turning me into a repulsive zombie before we have to present tomorrow. Pidge and Hunk are finishing up the research part of our presentation. When I walk in Lance already had his makeup spread across our desks and our chairs facing each other so he can put makeup all over me. He was looking straight at me while he gestured to my seat with an open hand as if he were some sort of fancy usher showing me to my reserved seat. I quickly sat down and waited for him to speak.
“Okay, Keith, I wanna get started as soon as I can because, to be honest, I don’t know how long it will take me to finish. You look good today, well rested.” He took out a pale color and a makeup sponge and started to apply it all over my face.
I laughed, “Actually, no I wish, I spent most of my night - um overthinking things.”
“Really, what about?” The way he applies makeup is almost soothing, gently patting a thick, smooth, room temperature cream over my face. However the question made me panic, I didn’t know how to answer I couldn’t just tell him that I was thinking about him, I’m not a person who can lie so I had to find a way to half answer his question.
“Just life, I’m trying to be more social this year well, Allura is making me but she’s right I do need to have friends in my year. Her and Shiro have been the only people I’ve been comfortable talking to for years so it’s kinda hard to not hyper-analyze every interaction I've had recently. Mostly wondering if people actually like me or if they’re just being nice.” I responded.
“ Did Allura have you talk to m- us. Did she make you talk to Hunk, Pidge, and I?” He sounded a bit hurt.
“No, well yes and no. She knew we had all been in the same class for years and that I thought you were cool. So really she just forced me to do something I wanted to do because she knew I was too much of an antisocial baby to do on my own…” I messed up and said the singular you instead of a plural you guys or y’all. I hoped he didn’t pick up on that.
“Aww that’s cute, Keith, you thought I was cool?” He had been gently patting a grayish green color around my face to add depth if I hadn’t had so much makeup on he probably would have seen a bright red blush spread across my cheeks. Zombies don’t get flushed.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I said as I crossed my arms and tried to feign ignorance.
“Wow, you are a terrible actor. It’s okay, I always thought you were cool and mysterious, I was always impressed with your strength. I remember once when nobody was paying attention during set change you started moving the ballroom stairs all by yourself, and yeah it was on wheels but it was also like the size of forty Keith’s so in summary I was in awe,” I was stunned into silence at Lance’s ramble, “of course I was with Nyma at the time so I had to pretend I wasn’t staring at your legs- did I just say that?” Lance had been rambling and I can only assume he forgot it was me that he was talking to.
“Uh, yeah you did say that,” I was really glad this stage makeup was thick and had green undertones. Without it, it would have been extremely obvious just how red I was turning.
“Keith, dude, I’m so sorry just pretend I never said anything…” he sounded upset as if that one statement was going to ruin everything.
I opened my eyes to reassure him that everything was fine and saw how close he was. That entire time I had kept my eyes closed. Suddenly I was utterly aware of how intimate getting your makeup done is. Lance’s arm had been resting on the back of my chair just above my shoulder. He had been leaning over me so close that his face had been about six inches from mine. There we were basically having a staring competition because both of us hadn’t realized how close we actually were until that exact moment. “I mean it’s not like I’ve never stared at your legs before…” I said slowly not fully realizing what I was saying until it was said.
“You two are the biggest gay disasters I’ve ever met!” Pidge suddenly interrupted. Lance swiftly stood up he was both blushing and nervously scratching the back of his head.
“Well, I’m about done so is now a bad time to say that I don’t see my makeup wipes?” Lance fake laughed sort of sounding like he thought I was going to kill him.
“Jesus Christ, does it at least look good?” I’d be more upset if he hadn’t sounded so remorseful.
“I’d say we’ll get an A,” Hunk started, “like if I saw you like that out on the street I’d definitely run in the opposite direction.
“Let’s take some pictures and then we can go to the bathroom and remove all that makeup!” Lance exclaimed. He took out his phone and snapped a variety of pictures some with the flash and some without. “Okay let's go.”
“Slav, Lance forgot his makeup wipes we’re gonna go to the bathroom to clean up!” I shouted and walked out knowing I didn’t need a response. He doesn’t care about things like that.
“Keith, I’m sorry again about forgetting my makeup wipes. I can’t believe of all the things I forgot that. I promise I’ll bring them tomorrow.” Lance apologized again, guilt in his voice.
“Lance, it’s totally alright, you just have to help me get all of this off,” I told him, trying to sound sweet.
“I can do that.” His confidence was restored. He held the bathroom door open for me, “This isn’t going be feel great because we don’t have an actual rag we just have the rough paper towels, soap, and water.” Lance started wetting a paper towel and gently dragged it across my face. There was a silence between, us not an uncomfortable one, but it seemed like there was something the both of us wanted to say. He was the first one to speak up, “Has anyone ever told you how soft your skin is?”
“Only Allura, she’s the only one who’s ever been close enough to me that her touching my face wouldn’t be weird,” I replied honestly.
“Is it weird that I’m touching your face?” I couldn’t read his emotions during his question. It seemed like he was testing the waters, gauging how I would react.
“No, while I don’t know why you’re holding my face right now, it’s undeniably nice.” My mouth had started to speak before I can even process my own thoughts.
“I don’t know why I’m doing it either.” He immediately started cleaning my face off again, “It’s actually coming off easier than expected which is good.”
“That is good because we have a minute until class ends,” I stated.
“Shit, okay, this might hurt a bit I’m sorry!” He was being a lot less gentle with my skin, but in his defense, we didn’t have much time for him to be slow and gentle. “Okay, I think your face is all clean.”
I turned to look in the mirror to mess with my hair and I saw he was staring right at me with a huge grin spread across his face. “Yeah, it looks like you got it all thanks, Lance. Why don’t we head back?” Lance and I rushed back and started gathering up our things.
“Hey Hunk, Pidge, did y’all finish the presentation?” Lance asked them.
“Of course we did, how dare you underestimate us? We are like the smartest people in here.” Pidge responded sassily.
“No, I just wanted to make sure! I would never underestimate you. Not are you just the smartest people in here, Pidge, you are the smartest person I know. You gave me the answer I expected.” Lance said matter-of-factly.
School ends and I am meeting Allura at her car. “Allura, I am in love with this boy. You don’t understand, I’m dying.”
“How can you already be in love with Lance?” Allura questioned.
“He’s the sweetest, funniest, most handsome guy ever! Today he talked about how he admired me before we talked and he like touched my face and I have no idea how any of this happened, but I feel like I deserve cosmic brownies for a month.” I rambled as we got into the car.
“What do you mean he touched your face like that’s so vague and confusing?”
“While he was cleaning the zombie makeup off my face he just like held my face and told me I have soft skin. He also asked if it was weird that he was touching my face, and I was like no it feels nice but I don’t know why you're doing it.” It felt great to finally freak out about that situation to someone. I had to pretend that wasn’t playing on repeat in my head all day.
“So you’re going to make a move on Lance at the party?” She asked.
“I’ve come too far to back down now. It would be weird if I just randomly stopped talking to him. Plus I’d miss talking to him he’s really interesting.” I told her.
“Well, that settles it, when we get home we have to pick out our outfits for the party. We need to make Lance not be able to take his eyes off you.” She sounded super determined.
“Sounds like a plan. Did I tell you he said he stares at my legs?” I asked excitedly.
“No, but now I’ve decided you’re going to wear shorts.”
“Allura, you are an evil genius.”
Allura and I got home and scurried off to our rooms to grab clothing items that might work. The first thing I looked for is a pair of shorts, bright red, high waisted, pleated, almost school uniform type shorts. They reach just past my fingertips and are sort of loose around my thighs. These are the shorts I wear when I want to be noticed, so this is the first time I'll be wearing them besides when I tried them on at the store. Next, I grabbed my favorite pair of fishnets, they have bigger spaces in the netting to show off more skin. Then I looked for a plain shirt, I thought that white would look best so I chose my favorite white T-shirt. It's like a nicer version of any old regular undershirt. The fabric is softer and less stiff it moves and flows easily. Lastly, I grabbed my vintage 80’s denim jacket, it is oversized, light-washed and adds flair to any outfit. I already knew I would be wearing my shiny black doc martins, they're the nicest looking shoes I own and work with the rest of the outfit perfectly. After I grabbed everything I headed over to Allura's room where she sat waiting for me on the bed surrounded in a million different outfit options.
“Alright, Keith let's see what you got.” She said while still sitting on her bed. I slowly handed her each item of clothing and watched as she analyzed each one.
“Also with my doc martin’s I just didn't feel like grabbing them. So, what do you think?” I already knew that this was going to be the perfect outfit to keep Lance’s eyes fixed on me, but I always ask for Allura's opinion. She usually suggests an additional item or switches something making an outfit I never would have thought of.
“Do you know what would go well with this?” she started, “some long necklaces, hold on I have just the thing.” she ran to her bathroom because that's where she keeps all her jewelry. She came back into the room with a long gold necklace with a rose quartz pendant hanging from it. She was right it does go well with the rest of the outfit.
We spent about twenty minutes going through Allura’s outfit options, she is a lot more indecisive than I am about picking the perfect outfit. I have always chosen what was comfortable and sensible. She eventually settled on a pale pink right t-shirt dress with a pair of maroon lace-up knee-high boots. With our outfits picked out we were party ready well, Allura was ready, I however still needed to get better at flirting. Talking with Lance had become easier from spending so much class time with him, but at the party, I had to make my intentions known. My goal had been set I have to directly flirt on Lance.

So... that just happened...?
Don’t get me wrong,THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST SEASONS EVER, buuuuut I have some things to say, about what I liked and what I didn’t like about it, so.. spoiler warning i guess lol:
Positives:
- THE SPACE MICE ARE ALIVE I’M SO HAPPY
- THE D&D (OR M&M LOL) EPISODE WAS FANTASTIC A N D THE “I’M SHIRO’S TWIN BROTHER” MOMENT GOT ME SCRRRREAMING !
- Shiro/Kuron in the M&M episode... He’s so dramatic I love him!
- LANCE AND HIS FURSONA SPIKE! I SWEAR TO THE GODS THAT HE’S GONNA BE MY FIRST TATTOO
-Hunk, Pidge and Allura... DFHKDKFFJD HUG ME I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
- Coran... when he was the inkeeper... And he turned around... ksjfewefhewhf I stan
Tumblr media
- WHOEVER WORKED ON THAT EPISODE IS A BIG FAN OF LORD OF THE RINGS! The door with the elvish lights around it, Pidge as Thorin Oakenshield, SHIRO/KURON AS ARAGORN, Coran being the dragon in the treasure room...
- Guys, it’s canon... LANCE IS CUBAN!!!!!!!!!! FUCKING FINALY!!!!!!!
- ROMELLE
- To everyone who called us “Shiro haters” or whatever for believing in the Kuron theory: H A H! TAKE THAT BUTTSNACKS!
- I’m still sad that Lotor died, and turned insane... He and Allura were actually pretty cute this season... GONNA ADD THAT TO THE LONG LIST OF WHY I HATE HAGGAR AND ZARKON! BUT I’M ADDING THIS TO THE THINGS I LOVE BECAUSE AJ’S ACTING WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD WHAT THE FU-
- They only killed two ships this season: Lotura and Sheith... I’m surprised, but sorry to the shippers <3
- HUNK IN THE FIRST EPISODE THOOO
- Coran was amazing this season! We got to see him be really serious, but we also saw the silly space uncle we love and adore <3
- Lotors’ Lesbain Gang also did great this season! We didn’t really see em until the end, but they finally left both Lotor AND Haggar! I love them so muchoeroieifi3e
- WHEN KEITH SAID THAT THEY HAD BEEN ON THAT THING FOR TWO YEARS I WAS SO CONFUSED UEHFIEHFHEU AND LANCE SAID HE HAD GROWN TALLER SO IT WAS NOT AN ANIMATION MISTAKE!
- Keith is a dog person! Or a wolf... I dunno, but Keith running around and playing with it was too cute!
-KROLIA... DO I HAVE TO SAY MORE?

- “You’re my brother Shiro! I love you” shfehefh I love the broganes
- Allura kissed Lohoe, but aT LEAST SHE BITCH SLAPPED HIS NASTY ASS OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE! YOU GO GIRL!
- LANCE CRIED, AND IT WASN’T TREATED AS A JOKE!
-So Shiro is the one who got a new haircut... It’s definetly something that’s gonna tak etime to get used to, buT HE’S ALIVE!
- KEITH IS THE BLACK PALADIN! WITH A SCAR! AND HE’S SO HOT I-
- THE FIGHT BETWEEN LOTORS’ ROBOT AND VOLTRON WAS INSANE!
- The show looked fantastic! They have definetly stepped up their game! The planets, the backgrounds, the characters, EVERYTHING LOOKED FANTASTIC!
Negatives:
- NO MATT HOLT!
- The fight between Kuron and Keith BROKE MY HEART
- Could they PLEASE just FREAKING decide wether or not they want Shallura to be canon? Like, I don’t mind them together, Shallura and Klance are literally the same ships (one hella gay, the other one hella straight), if one is romantic, then other is also romantic, but coME ON! We litteraly saw her feeling guilty about the fact that she broke his heart, and she clearly cares about him, but I feel like it would be such a toxic thing to teach kids: If you flirt and annoy your crush enough, they’re gonna fall for you!!11! I’M NOT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT LANCE HERE, I don’t think he’s a bad person, but as the creators have already said: He needs to accept that what he wants is not what he needs...There are still 4/5 seasons left for them to make it a fix the situation, and if they are endgame, I will respect it. And Lance as the king of the alteans ofvofrgjieri if that happens I will definetly forgive Dreamworks
- nO SLAV
- Lance’s heartbreak... i cried SO HARD
- I did not expect there to be any characters confirmed LGBT in this season, but I’m really nervous that they’re queerbaiting us... I don’t care if Klance, Hance, Heith, Sheith or whatever becomes canon, I’m just desperate for a nice n’ obvious queer couple, or at least just ONE queer character in the main group (Or just a character we see in more than one episode, and that we know the name of). As of right now, the only ones I could see be LGBT are:
Lance
Keith
Shiro
Pidge
Matt
So... Please dreamworks <3
- I am VERY confused about the whole Galra situation, but that’s probably gonna be solved next season!

Caramel Skin Under A Vanilla Sky prt 46 full draft
Finding Lance was easy, he was leaning against the wall a few steps away from the dining room doors. With his mask pulled down, he had one hand over his mouth as he leaned his forehead against his bent arm
"I know I shouldn't have snapped. It's just Pidge being Pidge and trying to show she's happy for us. This on me, not her"
"No. Yes and no. You're not the only one who wanted to be able to tell people when we were ready"
Turning, Lance leaned his back on the wall with a sigh
"I know. I wanted to... it wasn't a great secret, but everyone we told respected us enough to not make a huge deal. I wanted to talk to Hunk first. He knows something awful happened on that prison ship. Then Pidge... Like, when I was ready. And you... you just got outed in front of everyone for dating me"
Walking over to Lance, Keith nodded as he flopped himself back against the wall to stand next to his boyfriend
"I don't care. I have no idea how we're going to work out any of this if we're both working seperate jobs, but I know that I want to be with you, no matter how frustrating you are"
"Well that's great. I'm frustrating and you're gay"
Looking to Lance, Lance had a smile on his lips
"Tell me something I don't know?"
"I wear a size 10"
Keith raised an eyebrow, Lance lifting his right foot to roll his ankle and show off his boot
"I didn't know that"
Shrugging, Lance seemed to be doing better than he thought he was. Especially if he could crack a joke
"You asked for something you didn't know"
"I know I did. How do you feel? Do you want to talk about it?"
"There's not much to say. I snapped at Pidge. Pidge caused me to snap because she doesn't know I'm messed up in the head. I'm still angry, and now everyone knows we're dating...  I'm sorry, babe. If I hadn't freaked..."
Nudging Lance, Keith slipped his hand in Lance's
"There's nothing to be sorry about. I was the one teasing you in the alcove. I have no idea how Pidge managed to hear us"
"The gremlin probably built some super spy tech she wanted test and then heard us by accident"
"That does sound like something she'd do. I swear I didn't know she was coming"
"It's ok. I mean, if I'd known, it would have been something else to be a douche over"
Keith rolled his eyes. So Lance wasn't crying because he internally berating himself
"You're not being a douche. You're shaken up. We can totally skip out on dinner. Go back to my room, eat the metric ton of chocolate I had your mum pick up for us. Take that bubble bath?"
"Yeah... I mean, I'd like to say yes, but if we don't go back, it's going to be worse. Pidge and Hunk are going to be asking if we're alright. We're getting to get smothered all over again. Coran can keep a secret, but he often blabs when it comes to comforting someone else..."
That was true. Lance had nearly blurted out they were married. He'd been literally ticks away from saying so. Coran probably wouldn't have someone to interrupt him in there
"So you want to go back in?"
"I don't want to but that's, you know, part of being adult"
"Being a adult is over rated. Can I hold your hand?"
Laughing at him, Lance pulled him off the wall, stealing a quick kiss
"You're already holding my hand, mullet"
"I know. I want to hold it when we walk back in. I've waited so long to tell everyone you're finally mine"
Lance's smile wavered
"I'm sorry... I should have..."
Shit. He didn't mean it like that. He wasn't trying to accuse Lance of anything. He needed time. They still needed time
"No! No, babe. I mean, I'm so fucking proud to be yours. That's all. I love you"
"I love you, too. I don't know what to do"
Tugging Lance up to him, Keith wrapped his free arm around him
"Babe. I don't expect you to do anything at all. And I think this is a conversation we need to sit down and have. We can work out what's ok, what's too much, and what makes you feel good. I want you to feel good"
"I want you to feel good too... What was happening in your dream?"
Keith hadn't meant having the conversation here, ok... he could do this. They probably weren't expecting them back at all, and if it helped him calm, then it was worth it
"Well... You don't get to laugh, ok"
"No laughing. I promise"
"Have you ever had a dream where you wake up in it, and you think you're actually awake?"
Lance snorted, Keith growling
"Not laughing. But yes... mostly back on Earth"
"I had a dream I woke up with you in my arms and I was horny as hell, but when I went into the bathroom you caught me as I came. Then you said you didn't want to run away anymore. I was eating you out, kind of moaning your name and woke up when you threw those clothes on me"
Lance shivered against him. Keith's words had tumbled out in one long embarrassed mumble
"Shit... that's kind of..."
"I won't make you do that"
"No... no... ugh... I was going to say hot. I can see why you... Maybe I shouldn't have asked. Let's just go back to dinner?"
"Are you ok, babe?"
Lance smelt aroused. It wasn't strong, but it was enough for him to want to whisk him away
"Mmm... yeah... you can smell it. I can hear you sniffing"
Sniffing was bad. Quiznak. Sniffing was bad because Galra had repeatedly commented on Lance's scent and now he kind of felt like was acting like they had
"Sorry. I promise I won't do anything"
"I know you won't. Ok. Let's head in..."
Dinner had continued without them. Their barely touched first courses had been replaced with cooling soup for the second course. Pidge was now talking, arguing, with Zak over some tech thing. Daehra and Lucteal were whispering to Coran. Shiro had his "worried dad" face on, but that softened when they walked back in the room. Possibly warned against making a scene, Pidge continued talking to Zak as they took their seats
"Sorry about that. I'm sorry for losing my temper"
No one expected an apology from Lance, but being Lance, he couldn't help himself. Leaning in, Keith kissed Lance's temple
"It's ok, babe. Let's eat?"
"Yeah..."
Slowly picking up on conversation, Keith covered for the lapses in Lance answering.
Nudging him gently, Lance looked paled as he faced him
"Babe, do you want to go back to our room?"
Nodding, Lance placed down his cutlery clumsily
"Sorry, I don't feel very well"
"That's fine... Mum, Lance and I are going to grab his stuff from the Telula. We'll see you later"
Krolia nodded with a kind smile that didn't reach her eyes as she realised Lance didn't look well
"Of course. It's wonderful to have you here. If you, or your team, needs anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask"
"Thanks, Krolia. Thank you for dinner. Sorry guys, I'm still a bit wiped out from work. Breakfast tomorrow?"
Posing the question to the table, Shiro's team and his both agreed. Speaking up for Lance's team, nothing got by Daehra
"We shall accompany you to collect our own belongings. Thank you for your kind hospitality. Daibazaal is a beautiful planet"
"We like it. Enjoy your stay. Keith, don't forget to let Kosmo out for the night"
"I won't forget. Good night, everyone"
He wouldn't forget because his wolf had already deserted him. Kosmo was probably prowling the grounds in the search of anyone who'd give him belly rubs and pats.
The walk back to the Telula was more a stagger for Lance, who was leaning heavily against Keith. Getting him into the Telula, Th'al, Tobias and Lucteal left Keith with Daehra. Lucteal pausing to fetch a trashcan, which Lance needed as only a few ticks later he was throwing up. Preparing Lance's injection, it was a lighter red than he remembered, and the vial chamber was only half as full. Jabbing the gun up against Lance's arm, Daehra sighed as Lance heaved again
"I was hoping you'd be able to keep a meal down. I know you threw up breakfast, you probably also skipped lunch"
Nodding his head, Lance released the side of the bin to give them a weak thumbs up
"He threw up breakfast?"
Keith wasn't impressed. Lance had said he'd eaten. Not that he'd eaten and thrown it all up, and hadn't eaten since. Napping all day didn't make up for not eating
"Babe! I could have had food delivered to our room"
Spitting into the trashcan, Lance wiped at his mouth as he reappeared
"Sorry. My stomach didn't feel great. It still doesn't"
"It's a side effect from weaning him down on his medication"
"That and all these quiznakking scents"
Keith was sure it could be a combination of any number of things. Not simply due to withdrawal, and scents, but nerves, anxiety and trying not to be triggered by Blade members that Lance didn't know
"Is there something you could have him for the nausea?"
"No. Lance has requested not to be put on anything else, even natural herbal remedies. Shiro would like for Lance to meet with Kre'el tomorrow. He will be taking both of you after breakfast. Coran has offered to show me how to work the new programming he made up for my holopad. The Atlas holds man advanced scanners, so I am also receiving an updated and more accurate mapping system"
"Our mapping system is fine. Also, the program is for all of us. So make sure Lucteal knows how to operate it, and make sure Zak doesn't tamper with it. The last thing I need is for..."
Throwing up again, Keith rubbed his boyfriend's back in sympathy. The quintant had been ridiculously long, and he still wanted to talk to Lance about the outpost he'd bought. The Gilded Cage was for Th'al. If he told himself that, then it wasn't so bad... It wasn't great. He didn't think it was a smart or sane investment... but if Lance was going to remain in that sector of space, Keith wanted him to have every bit of support he could... because he sure as hell wasn't letting Lance move out there alone. He considered this "transitioning" thing to be bullshit. It wasn't like he was dead, but Blade members died, and everything continued on. New members were sworn in. Old members sidestepped into new roles. The Blades had been operating for thousands of years. He was simply another cog.
"Leandro. Please. Keith, he should be alright shortly. I know we said we wished to gather our belongings, but we would all feel more comfortable here. I, myself, am quite exhausted. Shiro gave us a thorough tour on the back of yours, and we had very little time to rest. So I will leave you now. If anything happens, please let me know. Seizures. Dizziness. Headaches. Bleeding..."
"Daehra, stop scaring Keith. I'm ok. Tomorrow I'll try something drier like crackers. I'll see you for breakfast..."
"Keith, do not let him fool you"
Keith gave Daehra a tight smile
"I won't. Thank you. Babe, let's get your teeth brushed and you into bed. It's been a long day"
Whining, Lance handed over the trashcan. Apparently it was coming to bed with them?
"A long day with a with 9 varga nap... why am I so tired again?"
"Because you insist on pushing your body. Now, please rest. Keith, please call if you need me"
"I will. Don't worry, he's not getting off that easily"
Sending Lance ahead to their room, Keith rinsed the contents of the bucket out then washed then washed the mess away down the toilet, before heading down to join Lance in their room. Despite all the ups and downs, and despite the fact that the Telula was Lance's ship and not his, their bedroom there felt more like it was his than his own bedroom in the palace. This was his safe place with Lance, and if he was honest, it was just about his most favourite place in the universe, second only to being at Lance's side. He was most well and truly whipped.
Finding Lance's bedroom half buried in a small stacks of what seemed to be strategically set out papers, Lance had crawled up to his side of the bed and was now half hanging off like he was drunk. Carrying the trash can around the side, Keith squatted down beside his lover as he placed the trashcan beside the bed
"How are you feeling?"
"Embarrassed"
Pushing Lance's fringe back, the Cuban gave a tired sigh
"What have you got to be embarrassed for?"
"This... this whole day. Nothing went like I wanted it to. I was going to come home to you. Tell you what I'd done, you'd yell, then we'd look at the outpost plans together. Then we'd cuddle and I'd ask you spend my heat with me... because I wanted to build a stupid home with you..."
Lance's eyes filled with tears as he sniffled softly
"... but instead, I'm trying to come off this red stuff and it's worse than the blue and I can't just go cold turkey because we have all this other stuff going on, and I'm crying because my emotions are all over the place and I thought weaning myself off wouldn't be this bad... but it's been awful. And now I've stopped working nonstop again, I feel like I've stalled and fucked up all over again... and I don't want to be like this... I want to apologise to Pidge again, and I want to talk to Hunk, and... Coran... and I really want to snuggle up with you and have you hold my hand"
Keith gave an affectionate snort, his boyfriend was too adorable when he was asking for attention and affection. His very public boyfriend was adorable when asking for attention and affection. The novelty of now being able to say it out loud wasn't going to wear off anytime soon
"That's a lot of "ands" babe. You had two small hiccups tonight. Two. That's all. I know you're super conscious of scents. I also know how hard it was for you at dinner, but you snapping at Pidge wasn't unprovoked. You stepped out, calmed your breathing down and you came back inside without running away. The second hiccup, that's not your fault. You're working so hard to get clean and I'm so beyond proud of you for that"
"I feel stupid. If you really don't want to live at the outpost, I can turn it into something else... I just... I know I need my job right now... but I feel like I'm slipping because of how I acted around those Galra. The probably think I'm the rudest idiot in existence"
"Babe, that's not the case at all. You're letting your emotions get to you. Now, you said you want to snuggle, but your room's a disaster. These papers, what are they?"
"Charts. Maps. Plans for the club, and the outpost... mission records and stuff from rebel camps. We were missing for two phoebs... I did the maths... you know... we've been together for 9 phoebs to the outside world. 9. For us, it's barely been 6... We missed that anniversary. We missed my birthday, we missed your birthday. Mami probably wanted us to come back to Earth because Christmas is next phoeb... All this missing time... it's depressing. I'm tired of you ending up in a pod, me ending up in a pod, you getting caught up in stuff because my head decides I need to go backwards. I just want to cuddle my boyfriend and do my job. Why does that have to be so hard?"
"I don't know babe. Why don't you strip down while I clean up a little? Then you can have all the cuddles you like"
Lance frowned at him
"How is that fair on you? You have questions"
"I have questions that can wait until the morning. You have no idea how beautiful you are, do you?"
Groaning at him, Lance rolled back onto his back, both hands covering his face
"I selfishly rant at you, and you tell me I'm beautiful?"
"Yep. Because you might not have been listening to your rant, but I was. The day didn't go like you planned, but you wanted to come home to me"
Lance huffed
"Of course I wanted to come home to you. You're my boyfriend. I just had to clean up all the mess the Atlas made first, plus you know, the funeral. It was a nice service and all, Annla was gutted. So I took her out with me for supply runs and stuff... and why am I rambling again?"
"Babe, you ramble a lot when you're sleepy"
That's one thing that hadn't changed. Lance used to ramble quiet a lot when he was sleepy and they were living on the castle. Back when they'd met it'd been annoying, now... he was more than happy to let Lance ramble
"God. I'm so cringe worthy... why do you date me?"
Carefully starting to collect the papers around the room, it looked like Lance had put more effort into buying both properties than he'd it seem like
"Because as dorky, and stupid, as you are. My dorky, stupid, idiot, that I've missed too. Tomorrow will be better, you'll see"
There was a few ticks of silence, before Lance yawned again as he started struggling with the jacket from the clothes Krolia had made them wear
"I'm not rambling, you're rambling. You and that mullet of yours... like some perfectly toned Adonis... stupid hot husband... stupid perfect arse... stupid abs..."
Lance continued his list of "stupids", while trying to undress as Keith listened on smiling as he cleaned up.
    *
Morning two on Daibazaal was how morning one was supposed to have been. Tangled up in their blankets, Keith had spent the whole night spooned up in his arms. His boyfriend stirring just about the same time he had. Ignoring morning breath, they traded soft kisses. Lance enjoying the way Keith blushed softly as he played with his silky hair
"Sleep well?"
"Like you wouldn't believe. I'm sorry for being weird last night... and pretty much all of yesterday"
Leaning up to capture his lips again, Keith smiled into the kiss, his lips still against Lance's as he spoke
"It's alright, babe. As long as you're feeling better"
"I am. I don't want to get out of bed"
Not with everything they had to do. Sliding his hand up Lance's side, Lance shivered as he grew wet between his legs. Keith might not have been the one having pretty extreme dreams...
"Ita a good thing no ones expecting us to rush. I'm pretty sure we can get a full half varga of cuddling before we have to human"
Lance gasped, pushing Keith down as he faked shock
"Keith! You want to play hooky? What, you're not going to force me up to train? Prod at me or tell me that I have to go do my job?"
The soft touch on his side turned to unplanned tickling. Lance screaming as he tried to escape the unprovoked attack.
Howling with laughter, Keith flipped them over. Lance wrapping his legs around his boyfriend as he fought him off. Begging for mercy, Lance was finally freed of torment. Keith huffing like he was from how hard they'd laughed. Staring into his boyfriend's sparkling eyes, Lance was struck all over again by Keith's beauty. His slightly long lashes, his soft cheek bones and parted lips. This man loved him. He loved him like there was no tomorrow. Surging up, he poured all the love he could into the kiss. Keith squeaking then moaning as he relaxed into the touch. Between his legs Keith ground up against him, Lance embarrassed as he mewed at the feeling. Rolling his hips back shyly, Keith groaned, abandoning his lips to start mouthing at his neck, Lance's face forced into the crook of his boyfriend's neck as he inhaled Keith's musky scent. Nipping at his soft flesh, Lance moaned out Keith's name, Keith biting harder at the sound. Unsure where he was supposed to be grabbing, or what he was supposed to do now, Lance moved his hands up to cup Keith's face as push him back. Keith flushed as a tick passed and his lips were back against Lance's.
Clumsy kisses slowly turned to sloppy making out, both men grinding hard against each other as Lance followed what his brain was trying to tell him. Unexpected making out was a great wakeup. Dream Lance had been right to tell Keith that he needed to stop running away. This wasn't sex. He was still covered. He could end this at any time... and it was nice to feel wanted because he was loved. Feeling the heat pooling in his belly, his inner thighs trembled, breaking the frenzy of kisses, he gasped for breath as Keith reattached to his neck. Pulling Keith tighter against him with his legs, Keith let out a growl, warmth spreading across his boyfriend's boxers and soaking into his own lust flooded his senses. His underwear was sodden now, Keith's providing the perfect friction as he ground up to seek all the pleasures given by Keith's lust... Rutting through his orgasm, Keith's lust pushed him over, Lance panting out Keith's name as he came in his boxer briefs, clinging to Keith as he whimper moaned softly, body awash with the warmth of release
"Keith... Keith... oh dios... creo que acabo de morir..."
Rolling them sideways, Keith sat him up in his lap. Soft warm hands moving up his chest and to cup his face
"Babe... are you ok?"
"Mmm... that was... unexpected... oh dios..."
"I... don't... I didn't mean to"
The look on Keith's face caused his chest to tighten
"Babe, I know. I know you wouldn't... I wanted it... when you looked down on me while tickling me, I wanted it... You're so fucking beautiful Keith"
"You didn't... I didn't?"
He should of panicked? Shouldn't he? But... it felt good...? Keith was panicking though... he could smell it under the lust. He didn't want Keith to panic. Not when that... had felt good... Keith would have stopped if he'd asked. He knew Keith would have. This was there safe space that now stank to high heaven of them and them alone. Leaning down, Lance kissed Keith softly. He liked the initiate moment. He'd felt normal. Like a normal person with their lover
"No, babe... no boundaries overstepped... but we might need a shower"
"Are you sure? I... fuck, you're so perfect. I love you. I love you so quiznakking much"
"I love you too. I haven't been able to sleep well without you there... but waking up like this... I don't feel scared"
"I won't let anyone hurt you. Never again"
"I know... let's take a shower?"
"Ok. I do you want to go first?"
"I meant both of us. If we're already running late, they can't be mad at us if we're conserving water, right?"
"I like the way you think. If you need me to back off, or space, you'll tell me right?"
Keith was perfect. His husband was perfect...
"Quiznak! That's right. I found them... hang on"
Climbing off Keith, his underwear was soaked and squishy... not a great feeling, but he needed to act while e remembered. Opening the top drawer of his bed side table, he pulled Annla's two gold hair clips out
"What are you doing?"
"Here. I found them. Stick your left hand out for me"
Keith's brow was drawn with confusion as he held his hand out. Popping the tiny magnet clip, Lance clipped it around Keith's ring finger. With the ridges on the inside digging in, it didn't make a great ring, but he kind of wanted to wear them now he'd found them again. Pulling his hand back, Keith stared at the golden accessory
"Where did these go?"
"I found them behind the bed. It's not exactly a ring, but I wanted... to maybe wear them? I don't have the hair for it, but you do. And I can wear it over my glove... am I being stupid?"
"No... no. I had no idea where they went. I thought I put them in the bedside drawer but they weren't there"
"There the closest thing we have to wedding rings"
Letting out a growl, Keith scrambled across the bed, hefting him up into his hold as he stepped off the bed. Clinging to Keith,  Lance let out a weird kind of giggle as his accidental husband nuzzled his neck
"As your husband, I say it's time we get you out those wet clothes"
"Oh? Getting bossy now?"
"Not at all. Your health and comfort are my number one priority. Hang on tight"
"I've got you babe"
"And I've got you"
   *
Keith had gone to town on Lance's neck. The bold hickeys made it look like he'd been mauled. The bold hickeys also made him blush... and feel slightly smug. Anyone to see his neck would know exactly what he and Keith had been up to... Showering each other down, Keith had let him clean himself without saying anything when he took the cloth back. Unlike the heat of the bedroom, the shower was soft and loving. Each tracing their lovers lines and scars. Keith's fingers hovering over the scar on his shoulder, as well as a new one on his arm that he hadn't had the heart to break to his husband. Dropping his head to nuzzle at Lance's neck, Keith let out a shaky sigh
"I don't want to admit it, but... I think... I think you needed those three movements without me. I think... that maybe something in you needed it. When you ran away because of my mother, I realised how little I know about being a true leader. Leading Voltron was hard, so hard that most of the time I didn't know if I was doing it right. I wouldn't have gotten any of it right without you... But you... Maybe you weren't born to be a leader, but you became one. I realised I've been keeping a wall between me and my team this whole time. If I... if I went through what you did, I don't think I could say it. To anyone. Not to my team. Not to the man I liked... I realised that... I need to work on trusting my team as friends, not as an outsider. I don't like it. Not being by your side. I want to protect you from everything... always. I want to keep you close and be the only one you love... I wasted these three movements missing you. Every day I did what I was supposed but... I don't think I reached out to my team. Not like you would have... I don't know what to do if I'm still serving the Blades, while you're off doing your own job. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, and being by your side out there, I brought something in me back to life. For years I longed for a loving, stable family. For my dad to magically come back... Now I have this stable home, I still don't know what I'm doing. Everything you do, you do so well. You were never just an extra spare wheel on the castle. Never. I was too chicken shit not to tell you that... you weren't the best Paladin to begin with, but you worked your arse off twice as hard as anyone. You... you have this habit where you think your life means nothing... but you mean so much. So fucking much to me... Promise me, you won't try to throw your life away. You want to build a home... I want to build a home with you too. I always thought it would be on Earth. I always wanted you to get your wish to go home. How do I get better at this? Loving you and not controlling you?"
Lance melted into hold, wrapping his arms firmly around his husband as he nuzzled into Keith's collarbone
"You don't control me. You want what's best for me. But when everyone wants the best, they forget that I'm the one who has to cope with it. I have to keep up with who knows what. Have to keep up with what they do and they say... when you treat me like it didn't happen, that's what feels best. When you ask softly to make sure I'm ok, or you're there when I have a panic attack... that's good too. But what's even better is when you open up to me. I think you're closer to your team than you think. You wouldn't have stayed together so long if you didn't get along. Even when ordered. I mean, you came back all infinitely patient and that from your space whale cruise, but you can still be a total hothead when you're in a situation you don't like. I want a safe and healthy relationship with you. I want to transition into having you around all the quiznakking time, but you need to make peace with you. I can't do that for you... I can't even make peace with me..."
"How do you know all of this?"
"People watching... I was kind of a weird child..."
"Not much as changed then"
Nipping Keith's collarbone slightly harder than intended, his husband yelping as he stepped out of his hold
"What was that?"
"Revenge. That's what you get for being rude. Besides, you marked my whole neck up. It's fair that I get to leave a few marks of my own"
"That's... fair. I might have overdone it"
"No... you were showing how much you love me, in your own clumsy way"
"I do love you. I feel like I'm saying it too much"
"I'm getting used to it... I feel... I can love you better than I could before. You did that for me... I still feel like this is all a dream... because I never knew what it was like to really love someone like this. And I thought you said I only rambled when I'm sleepy"
Ending with a joking tone, Keith smiled at him
"I secretly love it when you ramble"
"And I secretly love that you let me. We should dry and dress... Quiznak only knows how long we've been in here"
    *
Opting to dress in nicer causal clothes, Lance's withdrawal decided to sneak up and gut punch him while he was trying to tie his boots. One tick he'd been on the side of the bed, the next he was face first on the floor with Keith's by his side. The room spinning as tried to blink it into focus, his stomach rumbling to remind him he hadn't eaten anything... that he'd kept down since before arriving on Daibazaal
"Babe? Are you listening?"
"I'm ok... I think I'm hungry"
Closing his eyes, Lance could practically hear Keith counting to three before opening them
"You're hungry?"
"Hungry or withdrawal... probably hungry...?"
"You scared the quiznak out of me"
"I'm sorry. Help me up?"
"No. You can stay there until I've done your boots up. Then I'm taking you to the dining room, where I expect you to eat"
"Why else would anyone go to the dining room?"
At least he hadn't threatened to sik Daehra onto him...
"The moment you're done eating, you're going to see Daehra. I would take you there first, but you need food more than you need a lecture"
And yet...
"I'm fine. Just a little near faint spell to keep you on your toes"
"I'd rather you didn't..."
Piggy backed by Keith, Lance kept poking at his cheek. Keith was wearing Annla's hair clip now on the end of his braid, while Lance had his clipped to where his little finger should be over his gloves. His reasoning being that he'd probably bump into Pidge, so his gloves weren't going anywhere anytime soon. Not until he was comfortable enough to show her. On his own time and in his own way. He got that she'd been scared and on the outer of everything happening, and that she was a hyperactive gremlin with her heart in the right place, but the previous day had been super stressful, and he was starting to get that sick feeling in his stomach knowing he'd have to head out and face the world.
Hitting the hand pad next to the dining room door, laughter flooded out the room. Lance peering cautiously over Keith's shoulder. The tables of the space pushed together to make a long table down the middle. In the kitchen area, Hunk and Shay were cooking away like they owned the place
"Uh... are you seeing this?"
"Yeah... do you think we can back away quietly before they noticed?"
Judging my the look Curtis was giving them, they'd already been noticed
"Your brother in law is staring at us... and now he's telling Shiro"
Whispering to Shiro, Shiro looked at the pair of them
"Good morning. Th'al said you hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so we came to collect you"
Loosening his hold on Lance's legs, Lance slid off Keith's back. He was kind of happy that they weren't headed into the palace to find everyone, but it was weird as hell to have them all in his ship
"Babe?"
"It's ok. They've noticed us, so we can't run..."
"We could"
"Don't tempt me. Make for Coran, it looks safe at the end of the table"
Coran was wiping at some spot on the table. Lance didn't have the heart to tell him that it would never come off. The tables came with the ship... And space pirates were dirty arseholes
"Ok"
Holding his hand as Keith led him over to the two free seats at the table, the table hushed as he and Keith sat. Praying nothing was on the chair, he'd half checked before he sat... but that was only half checked and there was a whole other half
"Will you stop staring? We slept late"
Pidge cackled. Lance didn't know what to do. They'd innocently slept late... then fooled around that morning. It was Keith's fault for having dirty dreams about him... and for being so intoxicatingly sweet. Clearing his throat, Hunk yelled from the kitchen
"I hope you feel like pancakes. You're better stocked than I imagined"
"Hunk, there's no way we'd ever say no to pancakes. We picked up fresh supplies that not long ago"
"Daehra was telling us"
Lance nodded, now he didn't know what to say. She would have been able to fill them in on everything that happened out there... Nope. Nope. He could do this...
"So what's been happening since last night?"
"Nothing much. We were waiting for you two to both wake up. You know Lance, I'd be happy to take a look at your ship's security if you need?"
Pidge gazing at him hopefully, Zak shooting her a glare that went ignored
"Her programming is fine, thank you. Zak takes careful care. All the major systems require you to be in the database and have clearance to use them. It's safer that way"
The last thing Pidge needed access to, was anything from any of the armoires or holds. If she, Lucteal and Zak were to work together, the consequences would be terrifying
"Fiiine, but if you change your mind, I'm up for it. I've never been on a ship like this before"
"There's no ship out there quite like the Telula. She's my good girl. The love of my life"
Th'al looked up from the cup she was nursing, fixing Pidge in her stare
"You haven't been on a ship like this junker, because you haven't picked fights with smugglers before. Or weapons dealers, or pirates... you said it was pirates, but I thought you got this heap of trash in a skirmish with smugglers?"
Hissing at Th'al, Lance hugged the table in front of him
"What's a few battles between friends? It's not my fault you have no sense of taste. Besides, I didn't hear you complaining when we were using all the appropriated GAC to buy you that club..."
Picking the knife up off her plate casually, Th'al pegged it at his chair where it embedded itself just above his back
"Oi! Stop damaging my ship!"
"Then don't be rude! She's a junker!l
"She's my junker! Let me enjoy my spoils of war!"
"Then get better spoils!"
Groaning, Lance rubbed his cheek against the table
"Don't you listen to her baby. She's just cran... Ahhhh! Stop throwing cutlery at me!"
Throwing her fork, it embedded itself near his nose, Lance opting to safely and less than gracefully force himself into Keith's lap
"Keith! Why aren't you protecting me?"
"Because she's fucking scary"
Around the table their friends laughed, Lance groaning at them all. Tipping her cup towards Keith, Th'al gave a nod
"I approve"
Who was she to approve?! He didn't need anyone's approval. He needed her to stop picking on him, and the others to stop laughing
"We don't need you to approve. You got your GAC, so place nice with everyone. Besides... a certain someone had banned me from... picking fights with everyone..."
Mumbling out the second part of his sentence, Lance pouted
"... so don't go damaging my girl"
"Whoa! You actually managed to muzzle this idiot? I've known him for phoebs and he's always been a stubborn idiot. Like that time..."
"La la la. No one needs to know"
Th'al raised her spoon, Lance shrinking back into Keith
"You didn't even let me start"
And nor did he want her to. With no one at the table helping him out, Lance looked to the kitchen
"Hunk, buddy. Bail a brother out. Is breakfast finished?"
Hunk hummed, talking loudly to Shay like he hadn't heard him. Why was everyone picking on him so early? And why did this make him feel... ok with it? No. He was just too hungry to focus on anything other than his stomach... which chose then to let out a loud growl.
"Keith, you were supposed to make sure he ate"
Pulling the knife out the back of the chair next to them, Keith gently pushed Lance out of his lap and into his own chair
"Sorry, Daehra. We slept through the whole night, then had a shower and came here. The plan was he was going to eat before we came and saw you"
Daehra nodded, able to sense the mostly truth in Keith's words. No one needed to know they'd dry humped like rabbits
"Isn't Daehra your medic? Why did you need to check in with her?"
Lance wasn't sure if Pidge was asking the question out of concern or curiosity. He wasn't going to force the others to lie for his fuckups
"Daehra is also my second in command with Lucteal. She mentioned Coran had a program for her, so we were going to check in with her before the day began"
"You forgot you organised breakfast, didn't you?"
Lance rolled his eyes at Pidge
"I didn't forget anything Pigeon. I just have things to do and no idea what the time is here"
Poking her tongue out, Pidge didn't seem to be holding a grudge over him losing his temper the previous night, still, Lance wanted to apologise. It didn't sit right with him. He knew too well what it was like to be on the outside
"How can you not know Daibazaal Standard Time?"
"Because we don't use it where we live?"
"You don't? I thought it was as standard as GAC?"
Lance shook his head. He really hated everything to do with time now
"Nope. There's something a little strange when it comes to time out there. We were talking about this. For you guys it's been about 10 phoebs since Keith first came looking for Guile. For us, it's closer to 7 and a bit. When we were at the outpost, it was a matter of few quintants, but for you it was two phoebs. So there's no point using Daibazaal time when everything's so hinky"
Keith gaped at him
"That long?"
"Didn't you keep track? It's been like 16 phoebs since I last went back to Earth"
16 standard phoebs... Holy Quiznak... time had flown at an insane rate since Keith came back into his life...
"I did, but this time thing... Holy quiznak, why didn't you guys tell me we've been together that long? Dae!"
Dae smiled at him
"Because it feels like only yesterday we met. It feels natural to be by your side"
"See guys, this is why Daehra is my favourite"
Bringing over two plates stacked high with pancakes and berry syrup, Hunk placed them down in front of him and Keith
"Hunk's rising up the list to a close second. These look great. Thank you"
They looked great and a little too rich for his tender stomach, but Lance wasn't saying no to fresh pancakes without any strings attached
"No worries, man. Like I said, you were better stocked than I thought you'd be"
"I'm not cruel enough to make my crew eat goop. No offence Coran, but real food is sooo much better"
Coran chuckled
"No, I quite understand. I'm glad you got some rest, you looked quite pale last night"
"I'm fine. We still need to talk to you... Shiro, how long do I have before you want me to talk to Kre'el?"
Shiro exchanged a look with Curtis. Lance lowering the fork he was starting to pick up as his stomach clenched. Was he not meant to ask?
"Shiro, what's happening with Kre'el?"
"Her condition worsened overnight. Her stay in the pod wasn't enough to stabilise her body. We wanted you to have a good breakfast before telling you"
Lance drew his brow in anger. Was this why the whole team had shown up here? Not because he'd missed breakfast, but because they were worried how he'd take the news? Or did they think he skipped breakfast because he was avoiding doing his job?
"Who knew? Did you all know?"
Turning his glare on Keith when no one replied, Keith raised his hands
"I had no idea. Shiro. Why didn't you tell us sooner?"
Curtis answered for his boyfriend
"How much sooner?"
"I don't know, like the tick we walked in! She fucking tortured us, and what, you were going to let her die before Lance could get answers?"
There went the good mood. Lance's glare turned to self annoyance... He needed to stop letting Kre'el rule his emotions. Placing his hand on Keith's arm, he squeezed softly knowing that he wasn't the only one who needed those answers. Clearing his throat, Shiro sat a little straighter
"You both need breakfast. Her condition is being monitored. She's worsened, but not quite at death's door. We have time for breakfast, and have you scheduled to talk to her shortly before lunch. I know what you must be thinking, but we weren't hiding it from you. Her condition worsened over night. There was nothing immediately that could be done, and waking you both wouldn't have changed anything. It was better you both get a goodnight sleep"
Lance nearly snapped. It was on the tip of his tongue to snark back at Shiro. To ask him how it was better for him and Keith to sleep and potentially miss the chance to question Kre'el. He quiznakking wanted to. His good morning had been ruined by the small bit of news. No longer did he want to look at everyone, and he definitely didn't want to eat. The table atmosphere had fallen heavy at the word "torture". Pushing the plate away from him, Keith turned his arm to capture Lance's hand in his before he could run. Not that he'd intended to run. He just didn't feel like eating now
"Babe, you need to eat. For me, please"
"I don't know if I can"
"Just a little. You need the calories. Two pancakes, and I won't push it"
"Two...?"
Keith nodded, his thumb tracing circles on the back of Lance's gloved hand. Two... might be manageable. Eating anything more would only lead to him throwing it up
"I promise. If you eat two, I won't force you to eat more"
"Two. For you. But I want to see Kre'el straight after breakfast"
Keith looked to Shiro
"We can do that, can't we?"
Shiro nodded, Lance almost grateful the man knew he was messed up in the head. It prevented him from kicking up a fuss over Lance eating so little
"Two pancakes and we'll go. She'll only talk to Lance, so you'll be monitoring the conversation with me, Keith"
"Absolutely not. I'm not letting her talk to him alone"
"She'll be cuffed and unable to touch him"
"That doesn't make her any less dangerous! She's a psychopath!"
"I know there's a risk, but I swear I would do nothing to endanger Lance. Nothing to endanger either of you"
For quiznaks sake. He hadn't missed bickering at all. Shaking Keith's hand off, Lance grabbed the top two pancakes, rolled then into a tube, then stuffed the whole lot in his mouth. The coldness of the syrup saving his mouth from the heat of the fresh pancakes as he choked the mess down. The deal was two pancakes. That'd been two. It'd also stopped Keith and Shiro from arguing as they stared at him
"Babe..."
"Lance..."
Making sure he wasn't about to spit food everywhere, Lance ran his tongue around the inside of his mouth before swallowing again. Ignoring that Shiro and Keith had both tried to get his attention at the same time
"You said we could go. I ate. Now Keith has to eat, then we're going. Before then, can I talk to you outside alone, Pidge?"
"Me?"
Blinking at the question, Pidge pointed to herself
"Yeah. It'll only take a tick or two"
"Sure. I mean, I guess... you're not going to kill me, are you?"
"Nope. I'm not planning to. Can you guys make sure Keith eats? We won't be long"
When Keith made a grabbing motion for him, Lance slipped out his chair to escape his grasp. If Keith got his hands on him, he'd try to make him see sense and Lance didn't particularly want to see sense. He wanted to apologise to Pidge before he lost his cool again.
Leading Pidge a short way down the hall from the dining room, Lance leaned back against the wall with Pidge standing in the corridor. The woman was unusually meek looking as she stared at her feet
"I'm not going to yell at you. I want to apologise for snapping at you last night. It's not really an excuse, but I had a lot on my mind, then you started with my hand, and my relationship with Keith. I know to all of you, we've been together for phoebs, but we're still trying to work out things between us. That's why we hadn't told everyone that we were together. We were planning to, but when we were both ready. When all of this wasn't hanging over our heads. And when people wouldn't be putting us getting together with us being captured. So it hurt when you told everyone what was our news to make public, and I snapped. I'm sorry for that"
Pidge gazed at him liked he'd grown another head
"You're apologising to me?"
"What else was I going to do? You're hearts in the right place Pigeon, even if that genius brain of yours can't keep up. I know what it's like to be on the outside of things and to not know what's going on. It quiznakking sucks. Keith and I are dating, and I hope that doesn't freak you out or disgust you... We're serious about this. He's serious about this... probably too serious... Grabby cuddly Keith is a lot to get used to... but it's nice. He's nice..."
"I thought you were straight!"
Bursting out her exclamation, Lance sighed at her
"Because I hit on all the girls? It's called being bi. Society just sees it as more acceptable to go around flirting with girls than guys... and I wasn't really sure I was bi until Keith came into my life... he was my first bi crisis... Things are so hectic... and..."
Waving his hand, Lance didn't know where to go next
"That explains a lot... this explains a lot. Still, I can't believe you two are dating... Naaaaw. Keith and Lance are gonnnnna get married!"
"Don't get too far ahead of yourself. Between missions, trips to the pod for both of us, recovery and work, there's been about three good phoebs for us"
"Hang on... hang on, how long before the engagement party were you dating?"
"Umm... a phoeb or two?"
Like he could remember. So much had happened, and for all he really knew he could be wildly off with the dates. The harder he tried to remember them, the more things seemed mixed up and confused. He was sure now that the bit of his brain for memories was the bit they'd scrambled up
"How did I not notice this?!"
"Because I wasn't on the Atlas for that long... We were going to tell you. And Hunk..."
Scratching the back of his head, he cast his gaze down the hall towards the dining area. He didn't know what came after an apology anymore. Pidge did though. Throwing her small frame on him, she pulled him tight
"You idiot! You're always going off and getting yourself into trouble without telling me! I didn't realise how little we talked anymore... I get so caught up in work... and that's not excuse, but you're my brother. You're both my brothers. I don't want to lose either of you. I want you to both be happy. I'm sorry for outing you. I got too excited to keep my mouth shut"
Hugging the younger woman back, Lance sighed. He wasn't about to change his job, or his life. Things weren't fixed with Pidge, but she'd given him what he'd really needed to hear. That she knew she'd let things between them slide
"It's ok now. But maybe think next time?"
"Being told to think by you... what is the universe coming to. No more nearly dying. I couldn't work at all worrying over both of you"
"I promise to only nearly die, but not to cross over to the other side just yet"
"That's good enough. I missed you, you big dork"
"Thanks, Pidge"
Lance wasn't sure how he missed Pidge. Everything was so incredibly complicated as it was. He was having to let too many people. So maybe once things got better... he could work on being friends with her again? He didn't hate her. It wasn't that. Not anymore. It was like when they were thrown together as a team and he didn't know how to relate to her. Still, he'd gladly give his life for her. He hoped she could forgive him a little longer for being the selfish idiot he was
"We should head back. Keith's probably nearly blown a fuse having to wait"
"Is he really that bad?"
"Yes and no. It's kind of sweet. He's a total softy. If I don't want to get up,he skips training for cuddles"
Pidge released him, her eyes wide
"No way"
"Yep. "Mr always has to have a blade on him", is a cuddler"
"Wow..."
"You never would have guessed it"
"What's he like in bed?"
Lance groaned. He should have expected this... Starting towards the dining area, he left Pidge behind as he threw back over his shoulder
"That's none of your business. You're too young for such things"

“Keith? Dude come on, you’ve been in there for two days. Can you just like, unlock your door before I ask Allura to smash through it?”
Lance’s knocks seemed to fall on deaf ears, another knock earning him a muffled ‘Go away’ from across the door.
How long was Keith planning to keep this up anyway?
It started after their latest mission, an easy success for the team that led to high fives and fist bumps the moment they got out of their lions, even going as far as to receive praise from Allura.
Keith seemed alright at the time, but the moment he went to tug his helmet off, Lance noticed his eyes widen, hands shaky where they held the helmet, before he ran off, leaving the rest of the team to stare after him.
Shiro was the first to run to Keith, telling the rest of the team he’ll try and see what’s wrong, but to no avail; Keith bolted his bedroom door shut, refusing to let anyone through.
Allura tried, knocking gently on his door before Hunk and Shiro had to pull her back when she started prying the door with sheer force.
Pidge tried bribing him with gadgets for Red, Hunk with sweets and hugs; yet Keith persisted, either via giving them the silent treatment or by yelling at them to go away.
Lance tried a few times, knocking so softly he wasn’t sure if Keith heard him, only to get a whimpered ‘leave’ in response.
He let it slide the first time, figuring it might just be nerves from a mission or some of Keith’s typical broodiness.
By night, he felt more agitated, pacing back and forth in his room, leaving a few times and standing short outside Keith’s door, only to hesitate when his knuckles reached the door, shaking his head and leaving with a huff.
On the second day, Lance had had enough.Keith got his broody-time, and frankly? Two entire days of teenage angst were more than enough in Lance’s mind.
When Keith yelled another ‘Go!’ Lance clicked his tongue, and took one, two, three deep breaths before steadying his voice, trying to be as straight-forward as he could.
“Keith, you either open this door right now and give me proof you’re alive and well, or I will go down to the hangar and shove Red here if I have to.”
He heard a gasp from inside the door, figuring that might’ve just done the trick; hell hath no fury over a worried Red Lion after all.
Yet there was no distinct sound of footsteps, no mullet in sight for Lance to breath in relief.
Lance counted his options, figuring there weren’t many left.He could continue the empty threats, or go for a teasing so bad Keith would have no choice than to open the door and give him that cute glare of his, the one where his eyebrows furrow and his bottom lip sticks out, arms folded and back slumped.
Or….Or he could be sincere.
He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Look man, we’re all worried okay? I’m worried. I get that sometimes you need some alone time, it’s okay and it’s healthy, but pushing everyone out like this, trying to face things alone when there’s so many people here that want to support and take care of you? That’s not the right way to go about this.”
There was silence in the room, so Lance continued, leaning his forehead onto the door.
“You’re…you’re my friend. Honestly, maybe a little more than that. I mean it’s kind of impossible not to fall for you when you got that cute stare and are literally the coolest person on earth you know?”
Not noticing the sound of footsteps, Lance continued with a soft chuckle, feeling his heartbeat increase with each word that slipped his mouth.
“Like honestly, you’d think the mullet and the whole My Chemical Romance angst would kill it but honestly? I actually like that about you. Oh my god I-I just said I like your mullet Keith do you realise how much I gotta like you to say that?!”
He didn’t get to continue his shocked monologue, because a moment later he heard the swishing sound of doors opening, finding his body falling forward and into a sturdy surface, warm hands gripping his back.
He. He fell onto Keith. Onto Keith’s chest. Right after confessing his gay, undying love to him.
Lance, to this day, has no clue how he didn’t immediately combust at that.
He felt Keith take a deep breath, unable to turn his head to face him with Keith’s jaw resting over the top of Lance’s head, arms holding him in place.
“You…you won’t like me when you see this.”
“See what?”
Keith slowly, hesitantly let his arms fall away from Lance’s back, letting the taller boy lean away and finally face Keith after two days of radio silence.
Keith looked…normal, more or less. His face was somewhat blotchy, the underside of his eyes littered with dark circles, eyelids red and puffy, gaze downcast, posture more recluse, arms wrapping around himself.
What was odd was that his usual mullet was-it was-
It wasn’t there.
In fact, except for a few stray hairs, Keith’s wonderful, luscious mullet, was hidden under a neon red beanie, reaching down and covering Keith’s forehead.
Noticing Lance’s confused expression, he brought a hand to the beanie, taking it off with shaky hands, and Lance was wondering why the hell Keith was suddenly so self conscious of his mullet until-
Oh.
Oh.
The mullet was indeed gone, replaced by choppy short hair that oddly enough made Lance’s heart both leap in loops and cry in mourning for his favourite mullet-head, but it wasn’t that that made his jaw drop, oh no.
Atop Keith’s head, his hair turned from black to shades of purple, extending up into what Lance could only describe as…ears. Fluffy, purple, Galra ears.
He must’ve been silent for a while, because Keith huffed, fiddling with the hem of the beanie before moving to put it back on.
“I told you you wouldn’t like me after this. I look disgusting, I’m-“
“Keith. Keith buddy no, put that beanie down and let me look at your…fluffiness for a sec.” Lance managed, tugging Keith’s wrist down from his head and taking the beanie from his hands.
He noticed the way Keith’s cheeks tinted pink, how his ears, his new Galra purplish ears twitched to the sides in Keith’s self-conscious efforts to stay still.
“Keith, babe. I think…I think I’m turning into a furry.”
They stared at each other for a moment before Keith broke, giggling behind his hand at first before laughing loudly, to the point of tearing up.
“You don’t think I’m hideous?” he asked when he calmed down, when they sat side by side on Keith’s bed, hands intertwined.
“I think you’re perfect as you are, always. Even if I tease you all the time.”
Keith hummed, looking down to his feet before peeking up at Lance, ears perking up.
“I…I like you too. I was so scared that you’d change your mind when you saw me, that if you were already teasing me about my hair, that I wouldn’t hear the end of it about this” he said, pointing to his ears.
“About that..” Lance said, willing his heart to still, his mind to stop replaying that sweet, sweet ‘I like you too’, “what happened to your hair?! Why is it short? Is it a Galra thing?”
Keith absentmindedly run a hand through his hair, as if that didn’t make Lance’s entire life essence melt into a flustered happy puddle.
“I freaked out when I felt the ears so I kind of chopped my hair off? I don’t know, I guess I thought it’d make me feel a little better or something.”
Lance nodded solemnly, keeping oddly quiet.
Keith leaned closer, tugging at their interlinked fingers by his side.
“Lance? Is it…is it bad?”
He turned to Keith at that, face stoic.
“You’re gorgeous. But we need to hold a mullet for your funeral.”
Keith snorted, rolling his eyes.
“I’m serious! I’ll make a little coffin, put some locks of hair in there. Hunk will do the eulogy, we dress in all black-not that you’d have to change or anything, and we have a full week of mourning.”
Lance knocked his forehead with Keith’s, letting a teasing smirk roll onto his lips.“That, or you can maybe kiss me and we forget the whole mullet-teasing ever happened?”
Keith happily obliged.
Even if they still held a funeral for the mullet after all, burying the tiny coffin, the words on the tombstone saying;
‘In memory of Keith and Lance’s ridiculous mutual pining. Oh, yeah, and for Keith’s bad hair decisions.’
******
this was so ridiculous LOL sorry, but short hair keith WITH galra ears?? um?? heck yes??
